Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, Chicks in the Office listeners. You can find every episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or YouTube. Prime members can listen ad-free on Amazon Music. What's up, everyone? It's Chicks in the Office with Rianne, giving you that Friday energy on a Wednesday. Happy Wednesday, everybody. So excited. Maybe last night you watched Dancing with the Stars, the premiere, and you went right into today.
Starting point is 00:00:29 I actually love you. We got a two-day premiere. We're not missing too much. We can recap everything Friday. Exactly. So going forward, dancing with the stars recaps will be on Friday. Because on Thursday, we will discuss both Tuesday and Wednesday. And then on Friday's episode, you'll get a full rundown, full breakdown of the episodes.
Starting point is 00:00:47 Is it just a two-day premiere? And then it's going back to one night? Good question. That's a good question. Noah, Google Boy, can we get a little search on that? It's got to be, right? Because eventually it's like... You don't have any dancers.
Starting point is 00:01:02 You don't need two shows. But I also saw that they split it up girls and boys. Yeah, it will air weekly on Tuesdays. Okay, so we'll go back to Tuesday nights. We'll still be on Friday. We'll still talk about on Fridays because it's Tuesday nights. So it's after we record. So you can look forward to that.
Starting point is 00:01:19 And they're eliminating a lot of people I heard this first week. Really? What do you mean by that? Like people? Like people are getting killed off this week. I thought it was just one guy, one girl. I thought that I saw a report that it was like there because they have so many this time that they're like eliminating like multiple like well if they eliminate a guy and a girl that'd be already more than they you know season 35 of dancing with stars features a shocking double elimination night one night two only the male celebrities perform night one and then night two is only the female celebrities I was kind of thinking that it would be the double elimination Wednesday night you find out from both nights but I guess that wouldn't be fair with voting right because that's that. that would leave too much more for the voting.
Starting point is 00:02:02 You could maybe vote again. Yeah. Oh, so. Guys is night one? It says males night one. Yeah. Oh, so a guy goes home tonight and then a girl goes home Wednesday night. By the time everyone's listening to those.
Starting point is 00:02:13 Yeah, yeah, someone's already gone. This will be gone. Shit, someone's already gone. Out of the guys? Better not be Guillermo. My guess. Hansen is a solid, good guess. I think he's going to be a good dancer.
Starting point is 00:02:36 I think they're all going to be a good dancer. I think they're all going to be a good dancer. Guillermo, you know, I just don't know what to, I don't know what to expect with Guillermo, but he's going to put on the charm and people are going to vote for him. Guillermo might go home. I'm solely just going based off of like an early competition popularity situation. Conner could go home, no? No, I think they, I think both Conners have strong fandom behind them.
Starting point is 00:02:58 Yeah, no, and she's saying both, I should, they have both Connors. They have strong fandums behind them. Really? Because this is now like Whitney's revenge. Yeah. Like, people are looking at Conner. 11 is like, oh, redemption. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:09 Like people voted Whitney off, now Connor must make it. The competition is. It is. But let's talk about a Friday though, because we're going to be behind now. It's going to sound all fucked up. Right before we started this, though, you looked at me and said, I have something to tell you in the intro. Oh, yeah. What is it?
Starting point is 00:03:25 Because, you know. It's a story that's going to gross everybody out. I don't know if they've seen it or not, but it's something that I need you to see. The girl who shit her pants during high rocks. Yes. Yeah. Did you see this? I saw that.
Starting point is 00:03:36 This girl shit her. Yeah, I mean, yeah, it's explosive. Some sort of gastrointestinal issue. Okay, no kidding. I got to say, like, I haven't read anybody's opinions on this or thoughts. My initial thought, though, is that's a biohazard. No, 100% that's what people are saying. And you shouldn't.
Starting point is 00:03:57 You continue the race. There's like, there's the argument of, of, you know, these athletes fight through so much to complete this course. and Hirox is really fucking hard. But at the same time, it is something where, like, equipment is being used and you're touching things. Yes.
Starting point is 00:04:16 And you're moving from station to station, which is so different, because people are comparing it to, like, people who shit themselves during a marathon, which is like, okay, you shoot yourself during the marathon, you keep running, you're not really touching anything else or, like, you know? I have to be honest, though. This is in a enclosed space.
Starting point is 00:04:34 I want it to be known. that I do not support people shitting their pants during marathons, during races, during high rocks. Sometimes you can't control it, though. Then, then quit. Then quit the marathon. Go, I'm sorry. I know. Yeah. I'm going to make people mad at that. I'm going to make people mad because I say if you got to, if you are, if you are going to poop your pants. That's it. Well, the argument. I'm calling it. I'm going, you know what? I'm not continuing this race. I need to go to the bathroom. The people who spent years training, though, you know, it's like they're like, am I going to let this stop me?
Starting point is 00:05:11 Yes. Yes. Yes. You're going to let it stop you. Well, this was really at a level that I've never seen anything like this before. You get back on the horse, you go, you know what, next time, maybe I don't got to shit my pants. Yeah. But I draw the line at this.
Starting point is 00:05:25 I genuinely. They should not have let this woman continue to compete. That's where it's like, it's like, it's like, and she like posted, I said, I couldn't believe if she's whatever, I guess own it. But at the same time, it's not on her. her. Like, I understand her wanting to finish. I don't. But I... Why would you want to finish when you're covered in poop?
Starting point is 00:05:41 Because these athletes are nuts. I mean, I wouldn't do it either, but these athletes are fucking crazy. I know, I'm not yelling at you. I'm just unfair to the other competitors. At 1,000 percent. Someone should have intervened and pulled her out and said, you cannot compete anymore. I'm sorry honey, but your time's over.
Starting point is 00:05:57 You're not competing. There's a lot of these competitions. You're spreading neurovirus everywhere. She won, too, I think. Yeah, I think she literally won. Because everyone's stop running behind her. Right, and I gotta be honest. Well, there's a lot of different elements to Hirox. I don't even know what this is.
Starting point is 00:06:11 High Rocks is like a, yeah, there's a lot of... It's like stations and then you run in between each one. Yes, it involves running, it involves lifting, it involves throwing. These headlines are so funny. I, if I was competing horrifying onlookers.
Starting point is 00:06:27 Against this woman. Yeah. So it combines eight training and race stations. so you do a thousand meter like ski you do a 50 meter sled push 50 meter sled pull 80 millimeter burpee broad jumps a thousand meter row 200 meter farmers carry 100 meter sandbag lunges 100 wall ball wall balls yeah but you run a kilometer between each station yeah i've had some friends do this yeah it's insane but i have to say like i'm anti-bullying but i'm anti-bullying but i'm
Starting point is 00:07:05 I would, you're seeing the footage of this girl. I'm just seeing her leg covered. I'm anti-bullying, but I would bully this woman if she was competing against me. And I would just try to get in her head and be like, okay, it's really good okay. Poopy pants. Why don't you just go poop your pants some more? You know, you can't help. Listen, in another world, you can't help when you got to go.
Starting point is 00:07:25 You got to go when you got to go. No, there's no place that's acceptable. Yes, you're right. You think if an NFL player, she just pants it. You're right. We have to draw the line. Like, she posted pictures. was like a win is a win and then like people were like
Starting point is 00:07:37 you're, I'm sorry, barn animal. You're disgusting. No, and you actually, this isn't a zoo. It's quite selfish and I do think that there is a world and I saw, I've seen a lot of people on TikTok talking about it from like the fitness world that either compete in these or trainers or whatever. And they're just talking about this sportsmanship that comes with being an athlete. And at a certain point, you have to like think about your fellow athletes and
Starting point is 00:08:03 remove yourself. Like there's no sportsmanship in saying like, I am going to finish this competition covered in shit. Right, because I think when people think sportsmanship or she might think like, oh, wouldn't my fellow athletes cheer me on that I'm pushing through? No, because nobody wants to catch a disease. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:21 And they put out, so hierarchs put out a statement. And then I think they deleted it because it like was not, people were like, this ain't it. Like you can't just be like, oh, we try our hardest to clean and like everything was okay. It's like you can't act like that was okay. Then they re-shared something that was from the Hirox co-founder that said, I need to address all of you directly concerning the recent events in China. I apologize to all that were directly or indirectly affected as well as to everyone who felt like we did not handle the situation like we should have.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Hirox made a mistake by not reacting immediately during the race. In the end, it is my job to foresee these potential incidents and I did not. Of course, we started improving event processes, plus making rulebook changes immediately. As of this moment, there are new rules and procedures in place to prevent situations like this from happening again. We learn and try to get better every day. Yeah, no kidding. Put that in the rule book. Imagine being the person who made them
Starting point is 00:09:09 pulled out. By the way, if you have not seen... They name the rule after her. Yeah, seriously. If you have not seen this, you can certainly look it up on your own. It is gross. Like, it is...
Starting point is 00:09:22 It is... It's not just like, ooh, a little poop here or there. It is full. She is covered in her own poop. Right. And that's why I wonder, why would you even want to continue. If I even got a splash of poop on me, I'm probably going to kill myself. I don't know. Do this as a tactic on purpose. If you can have explosive diarrhea like that on
Starting point is 00:09:46 command. She ate like a bunch of Chipotle that morning. To clear out the competition. Yeah. I mean, it worked. Didn't it work? Hey, look, maybe she did it thinking I'll fart here or there smells and people. Right. People will be like, they'll add some seconds onto their time because they'll be like, what is that? I mean, it had to have stunk. Didn't expect to do. be full. It's had to have been disgusting. See, but it's also like, she's using the machinery. She needs to be power washed.
Starting point is 00:10:13 Using the machinery. That's like other people have to use. That is disgusting and vile. And you know what? We need to bring back shame. We need to bring back some shame because it's just too far. Things need to be shamed. This is one of them.
Starting point is 00:10:28 We should have her, like in Game of Thrones walk down and we just yell shame as she walks with shit down her life. don't think anything can shame this person. She has no shame. That's why I said we got to bring back some shame. I'm saying like what? If she's walking around in her own shit, nothing can be done to her. They must have clearly never foreseen this issue happening because people were like,
Starting point is 00:10:51 you guys have such crazy rules and they've had like rules. People were commenting that they have rules and like you can be penalized for spitting or any of these other types of bodily fluid things but like absolutely shitting all over yourself I guess not in the you know they didn't have a rule for that I'm gonna be honest I'm getting sick I'm getting nausea. I'm sorry I'm talking about this for so long
Starting point is 00:11:18 but I just couldn't believe it and it's been actually here's the thing I watched like three TikToks about it and now I'm just only getting I'm only getting served content about this race anything I've seen about it I've scrolled past immediately and I was not prepared for you to bring this up when you told me you had something to tell me. I was not expecting.
Starting point is 00:11:36 Well, because my thing was like, I don't know if this has come across everybody's desk. Or I didn't know if it came across your desk because I thought if it did, you would have sent it to me. I just immediately saw it and was like, oh my God, I have to go about my day and act like I never seen something like this because this is horrid. And on top of that, I think by now maybe he has changed his team name.
Starting point is 00:11:54 But Tyler Cameron cannot be team. I can't even say the word. I can't say it. I can't. Well, here's the thing. They can't like put that on TV, I don't think. Can they? No, but it's also just like, if you want, and would ABC be like, hey, come on?
Starting point is 00:12:08 I text him, I said, as your PR person, like, really, we need to change the name because this isn't, people don't, there's people don't like potty humor. That's not going to be what they officially use. No, they won't. The problem is, is that he's used it for so long already that that's going to be what people think, so. I really hope not. I mean, my God.
Starting point is 00:12:24 Where does that come from? It's Sharna and Tyler. With a tea. Oh, that doesn't even make sense. Like, that's a stretch, no? Some of the team names are a little bit of the stretching general. It should be like Shiler or like. Yeah, but they don't, they like try and do catch phrases.
Starting point is 00:12:39 I know, but just taking one letter off his name, putting it on the end. No, you're right. He just went with, he wanted to be disgusting, like on purpose as a joke. What if Tyler shits on his leg while they're dancing? Boy humor. What if Tyler shits his pants while dancing? That would be called for. Wow.
Starting point is 00:12:58 What if that happened on Dancing with Stars? Yeah, what would happen? What would happen? But here's the thing like, you don't know until you know. This is clearly where high rocks had their issue. It's like they never played this game. Well, let me tell you what would happen. Everybody should start being prepared.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Well, the ballroom would have to be evacuated, so. Yeah, this is a hazard. As Tyra Banks once said, it's live TV. Right. The next pair after them just has to go on a show. No, you actually can't. You can't. Anytime we've gone on stage at one of our shows,
Starting point is 00:13:33 I always look at, I get like a nervous stomach right before we're about to go on. It's literally like just from the walk from the green room to the stage and then it goes away. But in those 50 seconds that we're walking from the green room to the stage, I always look at Fred and I'm like, what if I put my pants on stage? And she's like, it'll make a hell of a viral video. And then, you know, thankfully. I'm always like you won't, but, you know, whatever. What if?
Starting point is 00:13:57 Now, speaking of, tickets are on sale. You can be sure that that won't happen. promise you that will not happen at our shows, but tickets are on sale. Indy sold out. Shout out Indy. Thank you guys. Thanks so much Indianapolis. We love you guys. Grand Rapids, Denver, Phoenix, St. Louis, NYC, we are coming to you. We want to see you there. It's going to be so much fun. Come comfy and Cose. New York are very close to selling out. So, get them now. So make sure you get your tickets and don't miss out. We want to see you there.
Starting point is 00:14:32 this is a very fun episode. We have Nina Parker back. We are obsessed with Nina. We have known Nina for a long time. And it's been too long since we've had her back on the show. So we had so much fun with her. One of my favorite things about learning from Nina is she has worked in this business for so long. So the behind the scenes, the inside baseball of what happens, working in this industry for so long I love hearing about.
Starting point is 00:14:54 And I think if you're a listener and lover of pop culture, which if you listen to the show, you are, you will love hearing all the stories and inside scoop that she has to tell. So that is so much fun. And we have the Pop Corner. So let's get into it. We're here with Nina Parker. We're going to get into the Emmys. We're going to talk about the red carpet, the show. We're going to get into it all presented by Nutrafol.

It's been too long.
Starting point is 00:16:34 Too long. And you guys are just like your lives. I met you when y'all was baby. I know. Genuinely. On my way here today, I was like, when was the last time we saw Nina?
Starting point is 00:16:43 I'm like, I think I've gone through puberty since the last time. Like, I'm a full grown adult. Social media makes you feel like you've seen people. Right. I feel like I was at both your wedding. Yeah. I was out of met your husband.
Starting point is 00:16:57 I'll be like, my baby. Aunt Nina. Yes. I'm like, all my babies are grown up. It really does. Like you see so much from what other people are doing.
Starting point is 00:17:05 You're like, I remember when that happened. I wasn't there, but I kind of feel like I was. Yeah. It's so crazy. How are you doing? We miss you.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Tell us what's going on. You have a new show. I'm good. Yes. You know, this industry is crazy. So, you know, you got to pivot.
Starting point is 00:17:19 And so I was really excited to start this podcast with Cricket Media. So we're doing Keep It. Keep it already existed. But now we're kind of like doing a new iteration of it and I'm on now as the new co-host and it's just talking pop culture but you know podcasting is new for me I've always just done traditional TV and I feel like I'm in my villain era
Starting point is 00:17:40 right now and it's that the freedom is yeah I'm like I took a new drug yeah it doesn't it feels so good when you get behind a mic and you kind of just spew shit you don't really know what comes out of your mouth maybe you hit a few like can we cut that you know right every every now it because my media training is pretty ingrained. For sure. But like I am definitely like when I was at E, I couldn't say so much, right? Like I could never talk about it about the Kardashias. There was so many rules.
Starting point is 00:18:07 And now I feel like, you know, like, it's like when you're on the plane and you can finally take the seatbelt off and walk the, you know, walk around, right? Stretch your legs. I can stretch my legs. Now I ain't going going to fight nobody. But I'm not, you know, it might be a little sticky. I'm going to say something. You could be honest. For sure. What people crave right now. People want genuine reactions
Starting point is 00:18:23 to things. They want to know where you're really feeling, even if you know the people. I think the time is like really dead where everything looks perfect is perfect. You say the right things. Like I think that's why Wendy Williams was so successful back in the day. Because now almost everybody, they're not Wendy, but they're giving those raw opinions. You can open up TikTok and see that. And I think people are craving that more than ever, especially in a climate where everybody doesn't know where to move, where to look.
Starting point is 00:18:48 So it's like if you can just hear somebody shooting it straight, you're attracted to that. Absolutely. Which has always been my personality. Always. I was like hiding it. I mean, Nightly Pop was one of my favorite. It's so, we love Nightly Pop, but the amount that she'll just say something, be like, I actually honestly didn't even mean that, but just like shock value.
Starting point is 00:19:04 But not for anybody else, just for like me and me. Just to be like, how are they going to react? Genuinely, I say things just to get a reaction out of this room because I'm like, it feels so good. Did this say what you're thinking? Even if I'm sure you run into this, like, you care about a lot of pop culture topics. You care about a lot of things. But at the same time, when you go home at night, you're not thinking about what these people are doing.
Starting point is 00:19:28 Not at all. So when you're talking about it, it's fun. And then you go, why do you know, why do you notice like when you're out and about, people recognize you? And they start to ask you like, what's the topic you're in? I'm like, honestly, I blank out. Once I put the mic away, I know. I'm like, I don't remember what I talked about 30 minutes ago. I always think it's funny.
Starting point is 00:19:45 Sometimes I laugh because people will be like, so what's the deal with this? I'm like, I don't know anymore than you do. Yes. Like I know, I know you like I do. I actually know the exact same amount that I do, maybe less. I actually said this to her recently. I was out somewhere and a lovely listener of ours came up to me and was like, so what's going on with the off-campus drama?
Starting point is 00:20:05 Like I know you know. I'm like, no, bitch, I wish I knew. Like I know nothing. I know. She's like, but you talk like your friends with all these people. I'm like some of them, yes. But really, really, you know. There's a very niche group of reality TV that we get like an inside scoop on.
Starting point is 00:20:18 But other than that, not much. And then I started telling her something that I just probably. shouldn't have because I was like I want to feel like I want to seem cool right now so I'm gonna give you something and then I I actually said out loud oh Fran's gonna kill me and she was like why would Fran kill you and I was like oh the jokes aren't landing when she came in and told me that she did this I literally was like why would you tell him about I was like I was trying to be cool I mean I used to actually report or like do real like boots on the ground journalism and that was interesting because, you know, then when you start doing it for so long, you start to be in the same
Starting point is 00:20:55 circles as the people you're reporting on. And it's so tricky because it's like, I made a rule where I was like, if I'm out and I'm not on the clock, if I don't have a mic in my hand, I'm not repeating what I saw. Like I made that rule very early on because I would be at these parties. I would be at these restaurants. I would see people, I mean, I remember going to restaurants and seeing like guys out with other women. And I just was like, you know, I'm not going to get in the mud and like do a, blind item. Right. You're not going to Perez Hilton, like that kind of stuff.
Starting point is 00:21:24 You're not sending it into Dumas. Hey, I saw this. No, I just made the rule like if it's out. Like, if it's a DUI, then it's like, okay, you knew you was being stupid. It's public record. People saw you. Other people talk about it. But I just was like, nah, like, this just never was attractive enough to me because
Starting point is 00:21:38 there's a new story every day. And it was never like attractive to me to like burn a bridge over something that people would forget about in 24 hours. I was like, it's not worth it. Yeah. But actually that gave me a lot of like trust with people. because I'd be out and they'd be like, they knew I was probably not going to say anything unless I saw somebody getting hurt.
Starting point is 00:21:54 Yeah. And then I'm going to jump in. But like, for sure. No, that's actually a great rule of thumb to live by. I feel like we are the same way. It's kind of like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:22:02 That's not my business at this point in time. You have to separate like a private. Right. Although it's work at those points, sometimes it's personal. Like you don't want to confuse the two. And I, you know,
Starting point is 00:22:13 I like my private life very much. So I want people to respect that. So I try to like give that karma, you know, back as much as I could, especially like when I was at TMZ, that was harder to navigate because they would press you to bring stories in to you be like, damn, like, what bridge can I burn? But now I don't need to do that. Yeah, can we hear more about you working at TMZ? Yeah, sure.
Starting point is 00:22:33 I feel like that is so interesting. I feel like TMZ has really taken a, I don't know, these days. It feels different. It's different than it did back then. Yeah. Well, especially now, like, you know, people come in, they kind of go and it's harder. It's just like the first season of like love is blind, right? it's really authentic because the people really want to find love.
Starting point is 00:22:52 But then, you know, you feel like season 10, 15, these people just want to be famous. Yeah. So I think it can be different in that way that it's like, it's such a brand now that like when you go, you know what you're getting into. But when I started, a lot of people don't know I started in 2007. So I started, I was like young and, you know,
Starting point is 00:23:09 a little young baby. And it was my first like TV job outside of like being a PA. And it wasn't even a TV show yet. Like it was just a website. And so it didn't exist. And so we really built it from, you know, it's kind of like with you guys at Barstle, right? You built it into this thing that it looks different from when you first started with it. And so it was like, I got to really watch it grow and expand.
Starting point is 00:23:31 And the fun thing about it back then was like, we would just be like, it was an office full of 20-somethings. And Harvey would just be like, well, do what you want. Like, let's try new things. Who cares? As you go into like more traditional spaces, they're like, no. We operate this way. You do this. You say this.
Starting point is 00:23:46 And it wasn't that. It was just like the first. real like it was technically like a tech startup right but then it was such a it things just didn't exist instagram didn't exist back then facebook was only for students like this was i feel real old but that's like it really was so it was fascinating but it was also like the craziest i'd ever worked but i feel like doing that in my 20s really built my work ethic like we would be in there like 12 hours we wouldn't go to lunch like we'd order food in we that's it was our lives like we would work weekends we had to take our laptops with us everywhere in case a story broke.
Starting point is 00:24:20 Yeah. Because it wasn't the same where you could just put it in a cloud. Like we had to like put stuff still in like traditional system. So it was an interesting, crazy time. Like I was in the office when we broke the story about Michael Jackson dying. It was just the craziest now that I look back. I'm like these are like core parts of pop culture that I was in the room for. That like nobody can take that away from me no matter where, you know, I end up in my career.
Starting point is 00:24:45 That is so insane. And especially talking about like the. work ethic, you know, that's kind of missed out on now. I think we still have that here. I mean, our team carries their laptops everywhere. Sure. That's ingrained in us. And it's so crazy to hear like the difference now. Do you miss that kind of time with pop culture? I don't at all. I mean, I, well, okay, let me say this. I don't miss the work that I had to do because it really was hard on me and hard on the people that we were around. We weren't prepared for the popularity. Like, we weren't. We, I literally, I remember I was,
Starting point is 00:25:17 working at Verizon Wireless in like January of 2007 and was like depressed. And my mom was like, girl, just quit this job. Like do what you want to do? What are you doing? We drove to L.A. So I moved to L.A. in April of 2007. I was working at TMZ as a runner in June 2007. By September 2007, I was on TV.
Starting point is 00:25:41 And my life just changed because there wasn't anything like it. It was like almost was like a podcast on TV, you know? Yeah, for sure. And so, and we were on Fox. So it went from like, nobody knowing me. I remember going into the grocery store for the first time and somebody recognizing me. And I was like, what is this? Like, and so it just was like, it just skyrocketed so quickly.
Starting point is 00:26:00 So that I missed like the beginning of this like pop culture phenomenon where like I was at the jail when Paris Hilton got released. Like I remember being there and seeing her come out. And so those like iconic moments were very cool. But, you know, but it was toxic. You know, so that I don't. Yeah, I can. It was toxic. I can't imagine so.
Starting point is 00:26:21 And I feel like even now still when we see so much, did they just have somebody scouring, like, I don't, public record? Like, you know what I'm saying? Because it's like, maybe like breaking that somebody filed for divorce. Yes, girl, they have an office in the court. They have offices in L.A. court. Oh, that's what it is. Like, they have court runners.
Starting point is 00:26:41 The T. T.M.C. operates, even though the way they deliver news feels unorthodox, the way they operate was very. traditional. We would be, they'd have courthouse reporters. They'd have people out like roaming the streets, you know, they'd have you like a lot of my tips when I would break stories came from bouncers and hostesses and they had, you know, they had sources at the airports because you got to think like these are people, especially back then, make it like minimum wage. Yeah. They don't care about, you know, if they saw, if they had somebody like J-Lo on the plane,
Starting point is 00:27:09 they're texting me. Yeah. Like, Jay-Lo's on my plane, yeah. And you know, you'd, so that was kind of like Did they get paid to tell you stories? People would get paid for tips, but like we wouldn't just post because you told us. Like it wasn't like you couldn't just tell me I saw J-Look into a fight and I would post it. Like we would still have to vet it. Right, right, right. So basically they would pay for tips and photos, but they wouldn't pay for stories. So if you could tip me and I can research it and find a story through it, then maybe I would pay you for the tip, but I'm not going to pay you for like a story.
Starting point is 00:27:40 I have to like bet it. Right, right. We had to have like three sources for every story. It wasn't like you could just say it. And they really do operate. There's an in-house lawyer who goes through everything to make sure. That's why everybody who sues them never wins because they really do have it like airtight. So that is like the ethical, you call for comment.
Starting point is 00:27:56 Like all of that I learned. So when I see people just saying things, I'm like, y'all are going to get sued. Like people now, they don't understand what libel and slanting is. Right. You have to throw allegedly in there. You got to make sure. And the TikTok world has changed that completely because I feel like there's so many people who want to like and that entertainment, like,
Starting point is 00:28:16 in their, they're reporting on what they see. But it's really just online rumor, but when they, so many of them like stated as fact and you're like, it bothers me so much. It does help to be in a place that has lawyers and illegal team. You know exactly what you kind of not.
Starting point is 00:28:31 If you've seen this thing with Meg Dostallion and she's suing this like Twitter blogger and, you know, it's not a ton of money that I think the girl got like a 75K judgment, but you think about like Cardi B and Tasha K who owes Cardi B millions. of dollars for libel and slander. And it's like if you just, people are lucky
Starting point is 00:28:48 that people aren't pursuing it. But there's going to be something that happens because there's just too many false stories. People are putting bold font and just assuming it's a new story. It is so crazy these days. It really is. Like scrolling on TikTok and you just don't know what's real, what's fake. Media literacy is
Starting point is 00:29:05 at an all-time love. And I always am telling people like, as soon as I see it, I'm like, where'd you hear it? What's the source? Oh my God. Like, is it your auntie on Facebook? Yes. We've got through this all. time with people. I'm like, we have like a good friend who will send us up and we're like, did you see it on Facebook? This is not real. I'm like, you got it like, you can't possibly, you can't possibly be believing this where the picture is like a bad Photoshop. It's always like
Starting point is 00:29:29 that somebody on Bravo's pregnant. Oh my God. I'm like got, come on. I just want a media, I might actually start doing TikTok. Yeah. You should. You absolutely should. Use your experience to teach people because these, the kids are not okay. No, they're not. And like she said, I saw it on TikTok. I'm like, that doesn't mean it's fast. Or they see it on Reddit, which is, you know, complete gossip and rumors. And you're like, you took that and you took it as fact from an anonymous account.
Starting point is 00:29:56 You know which one I've been seeing lately? The one about Shailene Woodley and Theo James. Like, oh my God. This is made up. We were just talking about this. I literally said, I was like, I think that my 4U page made this out. It's totally made up. Monday's episode where I was like, my For You Page kept telling me she wants to hook up with Theo James.
Starting point is 00:30:18 And I'm like, a girl even posted. She said, I just made this up. And everybody took it and ran with it. And I was like, I think Mark Frey Your Page just knows I like Theo James and was like, yeah, this is. I mean, who does? Right. Exactly. So I'm like on somebody else's page, it probably says she wants to hook up with Miles Teller.
Starting point is 00:30:32 Like it's just depending on. And now everybody on my timeline was like, well, I would have doing it for Theo James. and I'm like, I would too, but y'all, this is not real. It wasn't the story. Now people are like exposing themselves for something. That's not even real. And their partners are like, wait, what?
Starting point is 00:30:44 You're going to see me to fuck Theo James? And I mean, I think Theo James is on everybody's short list. He is literally one of the most gorgeous he was. Yes. So it probably isn't far from the truth. Shalene never said that. Also, I'm sure she wanted. Is he a reliable narrator?
Starting point is 00:30:58 Is he a reliable narrator? Because that's another thing, consider your source. Yeah, seriously. I think he might remember things a little differently. Oh, my God. I mean, don't get us started. Like, this guy's nuts.
Starting point is 00:31:10 Yes. While we're on the topic of Shalene, Woodley though. I think we should get into the Emmys because you know, her outfit was a big topic of conversation. What did you think? I did not like it. No. I mean, I think, you know, it's interesting because she's like
Starting point is 00:31:23 the earthy girl, right? It felt like not like her personality. But also I just didn't understand what was going on. It was winter. It was fall. It was summer. She's like, I'm going to fuck Theo James in this outfit. The gentleman. I mean, she was showing up as a winner. We know
Starting point is 00:31:39 she won. So like, I don't know maybe she was just like, I'm gonna just do, because the outfit looked like, hey, I'm gonna do anything. Right. You know what they say? It's like when you're getting dressed for something like this, you got to look in the mirror and take off like one thing. Like it's like you always have one more thing.
Starting point is 00:31:54 And I think that would have been a good rule. You guys, you know, it was the necklace. It was the gloves. It was the gloves. Something about the hair, the hair over the ears like kind of freaked me out. I think that was it. I got to be honest. I feel like if she hit a updo, it would have been a little different.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Because I will say, I liked the gloves. You did. But not with the pants. I think the pants were the problem for me. Because I feel like something cool could have happened with the necklace and the gloves. It's just not altogether. Everything is good separately. At the after party or wherever she was going after this.
Starting point is 00:32:27 She threw a t-shirt on. Totally. And over this, like with the pants. It would have actually been chic with the t-shirt, honestly. The t-shirt with the pants actually looked really cool. Yeah, that would have been chic and wore her. This feels like Mormon wives low-key. It's like very different
Starting point is 00:32:43 Like she's a beautiful girl And this is the thing when you're beautiful You really can get away with a lot But this might have pushed it to the limit for you Yeah I feel like maybe she was just trying to bury the story That's happening right now She's like we are talking about this instead Right let's get this outfit out there
Starting point is 00:32:57 Yeah I mean I like this better honestly Right it's fun you know I mean if it was white I think I would have liked it a little bit more Like I just feel like she just kind of Her team was like we got this person who wants to give us these clothes And I will say as someone who's done a lot of red carpet, sometimes the sketches, it doesn't come out the way you anticipated
Starting point is 00:33:18 and it's too late to change a bit. So you're just like, I just got to roll with it. Or it's like sponsored, right? So they're paying you to wear these gloves or whatever. And you're like, I'm getting a bag, I'm going to just do it. There was something about that. It made it look like she was wearing a wig. Totally.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Yeah. It's not my favorite look of hers. And as a winner, like, I wanted her to kind of like come through. And also because this man had said all this stuff about her, I want her to come through just being her sexy. Yeah, right. So, but you know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Can you tell us a little behind the scenes of how that does work, working with a stylist and the sketches? Because we've never done that. We've never worked with a stylist. It's interesting. I mean, for me, it was different because I was plus size. So it was a whole different process for me personally because I had to get stuff customate. But you, you know, if you have a team, a lot of them have stylists that have relationships, right? So they'll pull stuff for you.
Starting point is 00:34:05 They'll bring you in the rack. You can look at what you like. And, you know, you're pretty much guaranteed to like. not duplicate. You're duplicating like with someone else as a taboo. Right, right. So if you give me this Ralph Lauren dress, you better not give it to anybody else.
Starting point is 00:34:17 So there's all these like unwritten rules. And it's a process like award season is chaotic because you're doing this every week. So you're going through fittings after fittings. You're getting tailoring. They're matching in outfits, earrings from who's doing your makeup, what kind of lash are you wearing? How do you want your brows? So it's all this process and you have like at least three people, hair, makeup,
Starting point is 00:34:38 and your stylist, maybe a stylist. maybe a stylist assistant. It's such a team effort. You know, so it's constant work. For one show, you're working for like two months. Yeah. So imagine like during award season, there's an award show almost every weekend.
Starting point is 00:34:53 So these people are exhausted. You are exhausted. Your team is exhausted. When I was at E doing live from E, I would do every award show and I would do every show within live for me. So I do countdown, the main show, the after show. That's a 12-hour day.
Starting point is 00:35:07 And then have to go in the next day and do Daily Pop. nightly pop and I'd have to be in at 6 a.m. when we wrapped at like 11.30. So it was, it's a lot. And then you're trying to look good. And so when you have somebody telling you, well, I don't like your hair, you like, bitch. Do you know how I have not had sleep in two weeks?
Starting point is 00:35:24 Right. You're lucky. I'm standing. Yeah. You're like, I don't care what the hell my hair looks like. I'm here. And I want to wait trying to watch every show, movie, everything. And if you're hosting, you have a binder that you have to learn.
Starting point is 00:35:36 So I do have grace for people on the carpet because I think some things work and some things don't and sometimes you're just like I'm just here so like maybe I'm not going to make best dress you lucky I made it to this day you know so I do give grace for that is there a color palette that people get told to wear because I feel like during Oscar season especially people show up wearing similar colors all the time like how how do they know because the stylist work with the designers who are runway and runway is like a year ahead so usually know what the color palette's going to be for spring you know what it's going to be for fall you usually know like a year in advance when you're designing because you guys know I had a clothing line.
Starting point is 00:36:11 It may see. So you kind of get this kind of color palette of like from, you know, pantone, a lot of different places where this is what the color palette is going to be for the spring. And you kind of choose what's going to go. So the designers have seen this on the runway. They've talked to the stylist. So that's kind of why it all looks similar because depending on the season, the palettes are very similar.
Starting point is 00:36:30 So that's why the talent may not know, but the stylist and the designers kind of know what's going to, that's why they can say, hey, for spring, this is what's going to be hot. Yeah. which kind of felt like for maybe the first time ever there was a lot of, like, lilac. It was very pretty on Emmy's carpet. Like Florence Pugh was in like a lilac. Sarah Pigeon was in a purple. There was one other person that I think.
Starting point is 00:36:54 It's a good head-up for the average person to kind of know what's going to be in season for the fall. Sarapagin, stunning. I love hers. Yeah. That's a good look. And that's the color you don't often see on a red carpet too, I feel like, which was pretty. and a lot of red, but red always. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:11 The ladies are always in red. And they brought out the Baywatch cast, and they were all in red, you know? Yeah, they're just, they get a little cheeky. Because a lot of folks forget that, like, if this is on NBC, NBC is going to use this as an opportunity to advertise. Because you're like, well, now, why would Baywatch be up here? Because I kind of felt like when they came out, the crowd was like,
Starting point is 00:37:29 they were. It's also, is Baywatch, was Baywatch, oh, wait, like, wasn't Baywatch? Oh, no, I'm thinking of maybe when they brought it. Was it on Fox ever? I don't even remember what it aired on back in the day. I don't remember what it was on either. I thought it was cable. I don't even remember back in the day.
Starting point is 00:37:47 I'm not quite sure. This looks a little stepford wise. Yeah, I did, I felt, I felt weird. And I felt like the audience was like, why the fuck are these people? It was very strange. And you have to remember, you're in a room of actor, actor, actors. Like, you know, you got Zendaya in the crowd. Like, behave.
Starting point is 00:38:03 Have some respect. Tom and Zendaya are here. That's why I love Marce. Did you see Marcel? Oh, yeah. He was like, Zendaya, I thought I was going to play a cool, but now you're right in front of me. You can't play a cool.
Starting point is 00:38:12 I would like to invite you over to my house for dinner. I would like Spider-Man to come as well. She's the reason I haven't deleted my Twitter yet. I haven't used it in years, but she followed me on there. I was like, I'll never delete this. Solely for her. Solely for her. There's a world where I exist in her world, please.
Starting point is 00:38:25 You know what? That's a great point. Can anyone pull off a fucking haircut like that too? You guys, so I hate to say this. I'm probably going to get dragged, but she's neck and neck with the shortcut. Like Hallie Berry, I made it. But baby. She, you know, because she had it shorter
Starting point is 00:38:40 and she nipped it some more. And this, I haven't seen an iconic cut like this since Hally. That's such a good point. That is, wow. This is, and I, and no one has been able to pull off a shortcut like Hally. And I mean, I knew Zendaya was gorgeous, but this shows every, like, angle. Right. I want her to keep this haircut from this look.
Starting point is 00:38:59 Now, it looks good in pictures, but when I saw it in motion, I literally gassed. When she came out and presented in the dress, I was like, Oh, there's so much more to the dress. It was like it's a, it felt like glass. Right. And it's see through like, kind of here you can't tell, but when she walked, you could see the full leg. I was like this.
Starting point is 00:39:21 She getting married and like cutting her hair, I didn't know she could level up even more. But this is like icon status. The hair, I just feel like shows off her bone structure so beautifully. Totally. Like it really complements her. And not everybody can do it because let me tell you in college I tried this. I could go outside for three months.
Starting point is 00:39:38 I could go outside for three but it was a mess I need some hair on my face I'm always like bigger than hair whatever but I'm just at this look and then like her skin is glowing like there's like five people that can pull off hair like this
Starting point is 00:39:54 It's so true and it's like let me tell you if you were thinking about doing a shortcut please go to a stylist and get a wig first because a lot of y'all gonna be mad when you try this little pixie cut and you can't do it when everyone caught a bob when Haley Bieber did it.
Starting point is 00:40:08 Or Sophia Ritchie and everyone was like, wait a second. I always say try it on a wig first, babes, because you're going to be mad. Exactly. And it takes years to grow it back out. Years. And you need somebody to be able to, cuts like this are so high maintenance. You need somebody to be able to style this for you on a regular basis. Like all the time.
Starting point is 00:40:24 You got to have them on call. Yes. You know how long you took? Right. Like you can't air dry. That's not an air dry. No. And I think people think it's going to be easier to have short hair.
Starting point is 00:40:31 If I did that, I would look like a handsome boy. You understand? I would look like a little handsome boy. I'm not going to pull that off. Most of them cannot. And truly. And also, wait, did you guys see that law also? Like, I feel like they keep asking him on the carpet, like, about their marital status.
Starting point is 00:40:46 And we keep getting mixed messages from him. It's like, they're married. They're married. Yeah, they're married. He was like, oh, no, like, they haven't done the ceremony. But, like, they will be. I just feel like he's having fun. Yes.
Starting point is 00:40:58 Telling people bullshit. Yeah. I love that they, like, on stage, what was the guy's name who called her out? who was asked her to dinner. I dream about Marcel. Marcel. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So he was like,
Starting point is 00:41:09 or they were calling her like Mrs. Holland on the carpet. I don't know if you guys saw that. Oh, no. And she smiled about it. Like, so I was like, that was cute. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:17 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I think maybe they like got married, like, officially, but they didn't have a big reception yet. Yeah. I don't know. They had that thing where everybody was together.
Starting point is 00:41:26 They for sure got married. Her family, like, her family is, she's from the Bay. So she's from Oakland. So we're from the same area. And like, it's such a, like, her family does.
Starting point is 00:41:35 not play about her. So they can keep a secret. It was the same like when Kylie was pregnant and nobody said anything. Like you have a tight enough circle. Like you can keep a good secret. But they, this is married energy baby. This is, this is Mary Glow.
Starting point is 00:41:48 He was calling her his wife. Yeah. He said my wife. He was like my wife all the time. I don't think he would be doing that. Yeah. Tom is lost in the sauce baby. Like I have never seen anybody is in love as that man.
Starting point is 00:42:00 That man. Yeah. You know, he's just happy to be there. He's so cute. And he is adorable. I feel like he cleaned up his act for so many different things, you know? And it was all to...
Starting point is 00:42:10 But if somebody you wouldn't even know had an act. Yeah. You know, he wouldn't have known. But he kind of talks about it. Yeah, but he was like drinking too much and doing these things. He basically was like, said, Dave was like, look, you better get it together.
Starting point is 00:42:20 And he was, I love a man to gets it together for you. You know what I mean? He did it quick. Yeah. Because like, I love when they know that you're not getting anybody back. Yeah. You know, because a lot of guys don't know that.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Yeah. I mean, have the wherewithal, right? Yeah. And he just doesn't play about her. and I love a man who don't play it by his woman. It's so sexy. Yeah. So, no, I'm here for them.
Starting point is 00:42:37 I love them. I agree. So Mariska Hargitay hosted. Yeah. She's never done, I don't, you know, ever hosted an award show before. I thought she was great. Like, it wasn't too overly done.
Starting point is 00:42:49 There was maybe a couple awkward moments here or there, but all in all, great. She's kind of cool in general, right? And she's cool, and I felt like she just kept being very appreciative of the moment and her, like, getting to do this. So it's hard to knock anybody. That's just like, I'm so fucking grateful for being here. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:03 For sure. And also, I mean, she's been on TV for so long. Forever. So the fact that this is the first time that she has hosted was incredible. You're right. There were some awkward moments where, you know, you think you're going to get a laugh and you don't. Obviously, these jokes are written for her. But I thought she played into it.
Starting point is 00:43:18 As someone who's not a comedian, because I think for these types of shows, you really do have to have a comedic background. I tend to think they should pick comedic hosts. You don't have to be a comic, but someone who can lean into comedy. Yeah. I think that kind of like, I think there's some type of wit about that. That being said, though, like she's, it was airing on NBC. She's an icon within the network. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:43:39 Sometimes you and the family win. Yeah, yeah, exactly. And I think she's pivoting too, like everybody else, like shows we know are dwindling down. I'm not, they end the 112 season of SVU. You know what I mean? I can't believe it's still going on. I got to be honest. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:43:55 What's been on, Gray's Anatomy or? No, this has been on longer. Yeah, there's longer. I think Grace Anatomy is on maybe 20, Have they hit 25 yet? 25? They're up there too. They got to be up there, right?
Starting point is 00:44:08 Yeah, I mean, I just feel like she's also probably at the stage of her career. She's like, let's just do some stuff. You know, let's do something new and fun. And I feel like because of the Knicks, like everybody was watching her. So I feel like, you know, I was in L.A., like rooting for the Knicks and rooting for her. So it was fun to just kind of see a continuation of that energy, honestly. And of course, she had to have Jalen Brunson in her. Yes.
Starting point is 00:44:29 Right at the beginning. Yes. Like she's literally in the. Brunson family at this point. And her opening, talk about amazing dress. The dress she came out in with like, it looked like the mermaid with the shell. Oh my God, she looks all of her. I mean, she's a stunter. I mean, she comes from that, you know, like, this is a nepo baby of stuff like being a stutter. She's got that Hollywood glam. Yeah. And it's hard like, you know, award shows, as you guys know, are like, it's the carpet is chaotic and fun, but inside is kind of boring. Yeah. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:45:02 especially if you're not nominated. You're there for a long time. You're not eating. You're hungry. You didn't eat to get there. So you're like, you're dreaming of like in and out, you know, driving home. You're thinking of the party. Taking your earrings out.
Starting point is 00:45:13 Yeah. Undressing in the car. It's like, you know, it's hard to appreciate the moment sometimes because it's so chaotic. Those carpets are the craziest things you'll ever be a part of. It's like, you know, back in the 80s when the stock exchange would be like, come right, right, right, right. That's what the carpet's like. So you're just kind of like overstimulating.
Starting point is 00:45:29 So as much as you enjoy being there, you do dream about being. back on your couch. And you pull up Getty, you hope the pictures look good. Which they never do. They never look good. And you're like, why didn't they upload more? I'm like, this is the one you all picked. And then the Getty photo they use, everybody uses as your photo for any news story that comes out. And you're just like, really, this is the photo
Starting point is 00:45:46 you pick? I've actually seen people talk about that recently. They're like, why do people use these pictures? Because those are the approved pictures that we can buy. Yeah. Because if we... Because it's free. Right. And if we take something off your Instagram, we're being told that you might sue us. Yeah. People have no idea. They don't know, like, the process
Starting point is 00:46:02 of choosing a picture for somebody. And you don't own your photo. If you take a photo on that red carpet, Getty owns it not you, even if it's an image of you and can sue you for using it. Exactly. People have gotten sued
Starting point is 00:46:11 for using their own photos on Instagram. So I know it's like the chic thing to like grab the Getty image of you at an event. Please understand they sue people and they will snatch your Instagram. We've posted pictures on the chicks of Instagram of people
Starting point is 00:46:24 like that we have taken from Getty and then that person has been like, can I use that picture? It's like, well, it's of you. and like you can, but, you know, we just know. Like, we paid for it. We actually paid for your photo, girl. And you can take the chance, but they might come for you.
Starting point is 00:46:40 I saw a photo of mine. Mine don't get any for like $6.99, like $600. I was like, wait a minute, bitch. I'm expensive. Oh my God. Wait, can I tell you? We went to, we don't do these things often. No.
Starting point is 00:46:52 But we went to the Hanna Montana premiere, which for us, like, growing up on Hama Montana, we were like, this is amazing. We don't go to premieres often, whatever. So they posted these, you know, pictures of us, and we have an account. here at Barcelona where they could buy the images, whatever. And then they were like, oh, they took videos of you guys. And so
Starting point is 00:47:08 I was like, I didn't know video option existed. And the price was high. It was like, I don't know. It was a lot. Like, I was like, yo, buy that. And I'm like, yo, buy that. And they're Prince like, are you fucking kidding? I'm like, I'm like, listen, when I'm old,
Starting point is 00:47:24 you gotta do it. When I'm old and I don't look like that anymore, I'm gonna be pissed. I don't have this. Yeah, see? It was like, slow You guys look like, slow-mo. I'm like, I'm going to want to show my kids this
Starting point is 00:47:38 if I have them in the future. I would have bought it too, baby. I was like, I need this. And the flash is going on. I got to show people I was cool at one point. Oh, yes. I would have bought it two times over.
Starting point is 00:47:49 I was like, I'm literally dying because one of the comments is for Maddie who runs our social and she just commented worth it. Which is just, no one else knows, but that just means it was worth. It's so inside baseball,
Starting point is 00:47:59 but it's such a thing. I mean, you guys look incredible. And I will say, say like a lot of times, especially this carpet, that was lit great. Because sometimes that lighting is like, you look like you're in a haunted house. And you know it was fun because it's like they leaned into Hannah Montana. It was backlit.
Starting point is 00:48:14 Yes. I saw that video. I said, I'm sorry, friend. I got to have this. No, it is actually worth it. It was incredible. And it's like, you know, that's what it's fun to do. Especially when it's like, I think those are even more fun than award shows because it's a little bit more relaxed.
Starting point is 00:48:29 You can go. Yeah. You know, the award shows are, they're pushing people out. way. It's crazy. Hectic, super hectic. But I thought she, I thought Mirz could do a great job. A bunch of fun sketches. The one that's being talked about the most is the SVU skit with Taylor Swift.
Starting point is 00:48:44 Like they're joking about where is Taylor Swift going to be. And it was funny. I was watching with my husband and my brother. My brother was like, there's a Monday Night Football game. She's obviously there. Like I'm like, okay, well, they're going to get to that. Like clearly that is where we're going. That is clearly where we are going.
Starting point is 00:49:00 But there's this whole moment. she comes in, they're joking, it's very ha-ha, what would Taylor Swift do? But here's Taylor Swift, she's got her cat, Olivia Benson. Which is just fun because I do feel like Mariska that, like that's, I like when Taylor Swift does things for her friends. Yes, right. And this is doing something for your friends.
Starting point is 00:49:18 She also dropped some sort of hint to something that everyone's trying to decode. Of course she did. That's something everyone's trying to decode. She's that. I can't get involved in that. I get stressed out trying to decode things from Taylor. Because you got to pick apart and zoom into everything.
Starting point is 00:49:31 Right. And everyone, and everyone is zooming in on that board. I've seen the day night live. The Taylor Swift, all the, all the fan accounts are like, this means this. I think she says, she says, Saccharide, Ares, from the vineyard, north and south. She said that really, really fast. Everyone was like, what the fuck does that mean? You know what people looked it up?
Starting point is 00:49:49 And they brought me to Harry Stiles somehow. Like, because they were like sugar, watermelon, sugar. There's just no way to know. From the vineyard grapefruit juice, north and south, one direction. I saw people say, and they're like, Harry Styles. I'm like, how did we end up here? Does that mean that she's going? One Direction Voltrak, Clack.
Starting point is 00:50:07 Oh, my God. I'm like, I don't know if that's going to happen. I will say one thing, though, absolutely love her hair this way. Like, I really like, I actually really like the cut in what's going on with this. It's very sleek. And, you know, I feel like she's just leaning more and more into, you know, it used to just be like she did Easter eggs. And people were like, I think this is an Easter egg. And now she's just like, I'm just going to tell you that I'm doing these Easterers.
Starting point is 00:50:29 Yeah, God. I got to tell you. I'm going to perimenopause. I got brain falls. I ain't got the time to play blues clues with my face. I don't have it heard, Beyonce, all the blues clues.
Starting point is 00:50:38 I'm like, just tell me when it's ready. Tell me where you spend the money. Well, that's what I, exactly. I feel the same way. Or I just can't take the time to look into it myself. I'm like, someone send me when they figured it out. You know, I'm doing that. I'm already trying to figure out who's subbing me on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:50:51 I ain't got time to do with my face. You know what I mean? Just tell me, girl. Tell me when to put the buy the tickets. Right. Just tell me like, tell me when the new album was coming out. Yeah. Beyonce has that like crate right now and nobody knows what's going to be in it.
Starting point is 00:51:02 It's $1,000. I'm like, okay, fine. Just tell me. Everybody's doing this too. Just like dropping that song out of nowhere and it was like, there you go. Detail or no. And more artists are just doing this.
Starting point is 00:51:12 Like when Drake, he had everyone shoveling at the ice for so long to figure out when the release date is going to be. It's like, just tell us the release date. It's a lot of legwork. I'm like, y'all want free labor. Pay these interiors. You need to start paying us. Yeah, I'm starting to want to check now. Seriously.
Starting point is 00:51:27 I feel like we work for them. I know. And I'm just like, if this comes across my desk of somebody who figured out what she's saying, great. Yeah. If not, when she'll announce it shortly. Because everybody's going to guess. She did say I was hiding in plain sight. So I think that's why people are like it's clearly just.
Starting point is 00:51:41 She's got to be somewhere on the board. The cat looks pissed, by the way. The cat looks highly upset. She only has those. She only has the cats that like, that are permanently like, like those, like not fully grumpy cat, but kind of close. This is a pretty grumpy cat right there. Pouty cat. Yeah, they are, but they are some.
Starting point is 00:51:59 Fluffy cats. No, I know. Everyone's zooming in, they're looking. I'm sure there's probably somewhere where it's just like, like I saw someone zoom in on something that said like Tuesday 8 a. Yeah. I don't even. Really?
Starting point is 00:52:10 Tuesday 8 a.m. Happened and there was nothing. People are probably putting this under infrared light to try to figure it out. It's too much. They're watching the whole clip in a dark room. Oh, my gosh. Let's see if they can figure it out. As the number one frozen fruit bar brand in America,

Starting point is 00:53:05 Outshine makes it easy to experience the joy of fruit. The way some fruit is packaged is an obstacle in enjoying it. Coconut delicious. If you can crack the shell, pineapple amazing after you battle those spikes, but this is where Altshire comes in. Find Outshine fruit bars of retailers nationwide. Besides all this, I feel like, you know, we have to talk about the winners, losers of the night. I feel like the pit had a big night. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:29 It had a big night, as always. Do you watch the pit? I do watch the pit. I love the pit. And I love that the pit is coming back in January. Yeah, they're quick. They're quick because I think, you know, I just saw this report that said the second, the sophomore drop-offs for Netflix are huge because people are tired of waiting around.
Starting point is 00:53:45 Yeah. I think we're finally rebelling and not going. I never went back to Wednesday. Like there are so many shows that took so long to come back. Yeah. That you're just kind of like, I don't even, like my life has moved on. You know? You are so right about Wednesday.
Starting point is 00:53:57 And I actually did end up watching the second. second season, but I ended up watching it like a month after they came out. Because you don't care anymore. It's not. And I love that the pit is like, no, we turn in and out. And they're letting us know it can be done in the streaming platform because a lot of times they give us these excuses. Because I sure miss the days where I got like 22 episodes. September to May.
Starting point is 00:54:16 Yeah. The summer off and we were right back at it. Like I missed that kind of, you know, appointment TV and we're watching. So I love the pit for that. We know they can do it. We know they could do it. And these network shows are still sending out what, like, they're still doing those long seasons.
Starting point is 00:54:34 And then they give us, like, an express show that's like eight episodes. And you never see it. If you come to me after three years and you give me six episodes, I'm cancel my subscription. I'm done. I have drawn the line. I mean, that's what happened.
Starting point is 00:54:48 House of Dragon. Like I'm still, you know. I don't go back. Euphoria. I never went back to this last season because I was like, you lost me. I'm in a different phase of life. I'm not interested.
Starting point is 00:54:56 Totally. I was like, I don't even want to watch the thing. Yeah, right. I'm grown out now. But I love the pit. I was sad about Paradise. I'm a big Paradise fan. And I really felt like Paradise deserved. I love this. He's in a Paradise. It's so good. You know, I know Sterling and his wife, and so I was really rooting for them.
Starting point is 00:55:12 So I was disappointed. But I will say, the pit is incredible. I'm also a big fan of Widows Bay. I don't know if you guys watch. Love it. I'm obsessed. I thought it was so good. And I thought it was very cool.
Starting point is 00:55:24 I had a feeling that they, we're going to win a lot. But I also was happy because, like they joked her in the show, there was a lot of comedies that ended. So I kind of thought, like, that's kind of what the Emmy. Sometimes you get like that. Yes, like the last season. That's very true.
Starting point is 00:55:41 You know, I was like, ooh, could this all go to everybody in hacks? Because this is hacks. She was so happy to do smart one. Yeah. She's fabulous. And she deserved. I mean, listen, let me tell you something. At once you hit a certain age, trying to get up and do 12, 15 hour days.
Starting point is 00:55:56 That alone you need an award for. She made me laugh. She got up there and was like, I know you're all just standing because I'm old. Like, it's not because I'm not good. I was like, this is great. Yeah. She's gold.
Starting point is 00:56:04 Yeah. She is. And that's where I kind of was like, ooh, maybe this could all go in like the hacks direction. But Widows Bay was just so, something new and original. So different. Different than what we've seen on TV.
Starting point is 00:56:16 Yeah. And I had no idea that she, the woman who won for writing when they were like, she wrote this pilot 18 years ago. That's insane. Actually, you know, I am in the middle of developing unscripted shows, like just creating myself. And I don't even want to host them, like, just going into my creator bag. Yeah. And I have to tell you, some of this stuff I've been going back and forth with people for like two years.
Starting point is 00:56:41 Crazy. And I'm like, are we being serious right now? This isn't even going to be a hot idea. Things take so long and get shelved or you get caught up in a contract where you're like, you get a non-compete. You can't do it for three. People have, it takes so long. Now, 18 years is a lot. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:55 Somebody said no a lot. But there's something to be said about knowing an idea is good, no matter who says no. And I love that. I love that she was like, we're going to do this. Right. There's something to be said for tenacity. Totally.
Starting point is 00:57:07 And the payoff is obviously there because the show is great. And Matthew Reese won for, hasn't been done before comedy and drama. He's great. Yeah. And he's got the versatility because those are two, those are two very different shows. So different.
Starting point is 00:57:24 This was crazy. The beast in me, I totally forgot that I watched that show. Like I'm like, I forgot this was on this year. I will never get him eating that rotisserie chicken out of my head. Do you think that Carrie Russell was like, don't, don't thank me? Like he went up there twice and like didn't mention his wife. And I thought, hmm. I feel like they have a very interesting.
Starting point is 00:57:45 Like they're so comfortable with each other. Like I, you know, I feel like, I don't know. She looked so happy. Yeah. I mean, he should have thanked her. I mean, you know, thank you. who made me cry. I know.
Starting point is 00:57:57 Kaylee Cuoco. Yes. Oh my gosh. And he's, I've left him since Ozark. Yes. He's been, he should have gotten a word for Ozark, honestly. And I mean, so when you compare that to, you're like, ooh, I mean, you know, kind of show it out all the husbands, didn't he?
Starting point is 00:58:09 Yeah, he did. He did. But you know what? If your wife is like as pregnant, like, Kaylee's very pregnant right now. She was going to cry regardless. Yeah. So I'd be like, you better fucking get up there and say a lot of nice shit about me. If you give a pregnant woman in a granola bar, she's going cry.
Starting point is 00:58:22 You know, like, they cry at the drop of a hat. I'm so fucking pregnant. I need like at least three sentences said about me when you get up there. I was rooting for them. They're so sweet. And especially because this is her second marriage. Like it's so dope to see a woman,
Starting point is 00:58:34 like figure out who she is and fall in love with someone who's passionate and that doesn't play about her. And I feel like she got that with Tom. So I'm so excited. There are just certain couples I just root for. Like I may not even watch your projects, but I'm roof for this marriage. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:58:49 And I'm rooting for them. He was really good in task. He did like, they just had that, a kind of Philly accent that's really hard to do. And he crushed it. I think come across really corny if it's bad. That's a hard one to do.
Starting point is 00:59:02 It's very hard. Because Mary East Town was a great show. And the accent's really fucking hard. No, it's a hard one to do. He did a great job with that. So he was so good at task. Again, I think like Ozark, there's people in the comments talking about Ozark, but like I feel like he kind of got snub for Ozark.
Starting point is 00:59:18 And so for this, I feel like he's kind of coming back to get his things. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. Absolutely. Every Traders won. Like, everything was kind of like, you know. That was fun. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:28 I liked that Traders one. Yeah. I was sort of for dance with the stars a little bit. Just because, you know, they're coming back around. I was like, and Traders has been winning. And I kind of think sometimes, like, certain reality shows when it comes to the, to awards, they just win it all. Like, every year they just win. I was like, is this is airing on NBC?
Starting point is 00:59:45 I'm like, of course, Traders won. Well, you know what? No, of course. That's a great point. I feel like that does. I feel like that does happen. Wasn't there a very long time where like, amazing race won every year.
Starting point is 00:59:54 Oh my God for like 10 years in a row. Yeah, you're like, and it was all, you know, and you're just thinking, but ABC's a competitor. It's all adding up to me now. They got a whole new season of traders coming out of the end of this week. Right. With Normies.
Starting point is 01:00:06 Listen, this is the thing, like, it's industry people voting. It's like sometimes like, you know, I'm the only thing I vote for is BT Awards, but I'm kind of like, oh, you know, this is just my fame. This is what I'm voting for. So sometimes it's not the scientific thing that people think it is. I'm like, sometimes this is what people like and enjoy. How does the voting process work with that? You know, like, it's, well, these are academy, you know, these are members of the TV Academy,
Starting point is 01:00:26 television academy who are usually producers, writers, like they've been, you have to kind of like earn your stripes. And then they send you everything and you just go through, they send you all the categories and you literally just go, click a button. Click a button. It's that people's fate is in your hands. Like, you're just like, it could be an actress. You don't get a long way.
Starting point is 01:00:43 You don't have a loan for her. Right. So that's what they say. Like, it's not just your work. It's people need to like you. For sure. People need to like you. They need to respect you.
Starting point is 01:00:51 And they need to see the projects, right? Like there's a show right now called Darya in Detroit that's incredible, but I don't think enough people are watching it. So it's not getting like the attention to get the nominations, like to push from the network. So it's like you have to have it all kind of, you know, talked about. Like I'm being furious on Hulu is one of the best shows of the year. Yeah. I hope people don't forget about it by award season next year because it'll be eligible for 2027,
Starting point is 01:01:15 but will we people remember because it dropped so late in 2020. So it's all these like things that add up when you drop. who you know what network it airs on. You notice like shows that people forgot about get on Netflix and they stream number one like suits. But that was on USA people weren't watching as much. Right. So it's all matters. Right. They think
Starting point is 01:01:34 they're finding a new show and you're like, the show came out in 26. You're like maybe this is 10 years old. Exactly. Welcome. Yes. You bring up dancing with the stars. Are you watching it all? Are you interested? I'm going to support my girl Sierra. Oh my God. Yes. So excited for Sierra and Brandon. That is a top couple for me for sure. Do you, have you
Starting point is 01:01:52 watching the past or you're like not watching the past i kind of come when it was obviously when it first came out and then i used to do like when i was doing reporting i would do like the set visits yeah um so i would go in and like we would do that weekly like we used to do weekly set visits and stuff so i think i got burnt out for a little bit i was like okay this is like really inside baseball for me um like a lot of dancing yes it's a lot you're like those heel turns and you're like what the fuck am i talking about yeah she looked incredible on the carpet i mean she always does Did you see Amanda's post? Did you all see that?
Starting point is 01:02:23 Yeah, yeah. I was like... I said, girl, now, why would you choose? It was clearly intentional. Like, why are you... Don't nobody care about this outfit? I also noticed... This is really random.
Starting point is 01:02:34 It was a crazy thing. It was, why are you posting this? Because you know what? It's so funny because you can tell when someone who like hasn't been working needs to start working. They start throwing throwbacks on the night of Emmys where everybody's getting dressed.
Starting point is 01:02:46 I'm like, oh, don't nobody care. They're like, ooh, the calls aren't coming in right now. So, and I noticed this also because, last week she was posting a lot of like shop my links and I was like she's these are the little industry like clues because there's like the affiliate links she's she has to post it a while she's got to throw some affiliate links on the story you'll see someone do a carousel of like emmy's 2017 and you're like you ain't been back since time yeah yeah exactly like I purposely don't I haven't been to emmy's like a couple years and I'm like I'm not posted you're not posting throwbacks I've got a whole
Starting point is 01:03:15 I saw that but I will say this is just a weird tidbit I saw we posted pictures of page Sorbo, who we love on checks in the office. And Amanda liked the post. Oh, interesting. On our page. And I don't know. I was just scrolling on our, and I was like,
Starting point is 01:03:30 huh. Because she's paying attention and watching, which is why people were saying in the timing of her posting that outfit when everybody knows, Sierra's at the Emmys. She's going to be seen in these fresh dresses. Like, she's,
Starting point is 01:03:39 she's on that girl's mine. She needs people to like her to, you know? Yeah. That's where. Because in my head, she's like, thinking like, oh, if I like this,
Starting point is 01:03:48 people will see I like this, a page, I support, you know, Like I don't know for sure. Because she doesn't like, like I haven't seen her like other posts. Right.
Starting point is 01:03:56 Yeah, it kind of stuck out to you, right? But she looks phenomenal. Yeah. And she wore two dresses. So she wore this one and then she had another one that was Whitney Houston's dress. Yes, I saw that.
Starting point is 01:04:05 Yeah. Because she did, she actually did live from E. Yeah, I think she said it was a gift. And she did live from E. What a gift. And I mean,
Starting point is 01:04:11 can you imagine? Like, I don't know what you know. I would have been scared to touch it, honestly. I know. I know. I think it's on her Instagram. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:19 Because she did, she did the lot. show, like she did the carpet in that and then she did the live show in the Whitney Houston dress. So it's been like, it was so pretty. Yeah. And it was it was classy. Oh, there it is. Oh my God. Just in look at that.
Starting point is 01:04:34 That is jaw dropping. Yeah. Yeah. She did that. But here looks great too. She's going to look so good on dance with the stars. Like they're going to put her in those little ones. She's out there doing a tango. She looks good and a sparkly fit too. Like she's kind of born for these dancing with the stars outfits. I hope they give her, like, you know those pants that you wear when you do the samba? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:55 Like a shaky ones? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We connected, so before all the controversy happened, we were, like, friendly on socials, but we didn't really know each other. I don't even think we followed each other. And I skipped some Oscar parties to go to, like, the Sunset Tower with a couple friends, and it ended up being, like, the most random, like, Oscar party. Like, I get to this table, and my friend, you know, Blakely's there.
Starting point is 01:05:20 and my friend Honor's there and randomly Blakely invites Sierra. So I'm like, oh, Sierra. And we had all these mutual friends. And so we're talking and she was going to be doing the red carpet for the cut. Andy Cohen walks in with John Mayer. I was like, what is going on?
Starting point is 01:05:34 That's everyone's dream. Let me tell you. Somewhere and then they walk in. Those two are always walking into sunset. Everyone was there. Yeah, it's so crazy. I had skipped the Oscar party to do this. It ended up being like the hottest spot that night.
Starting point is 01:05:45 They all joined our table. It was the craziest evening. But I was talking to her about red carpets. And she was like, I want to know, like, the tips on what you do. And so we had this great conversation. And then two weeks later, the stuff with, you know, Amanda and West happened. And we had already connected. So I was able to, like, send her lovely messages.
Starting point is 01:06:01 But it just made me want to root for her. Because I met her before all the crazy stuff. And she was just so excited for everything, you know, and just had such a good energy. So to be blindsided, it was also cool to just be able to send good words to a black woman in media. Because sometimes it can be so isolating. Absolutely. And to also be going through this controversy with your best friend is just, so disheartening. So I'm going to forever root for her in every platform that she's on.
Starting point is 01:06:26 And she's getting into her hosting game and just question it. She's doing these carpets. Yeah. Just being herself, you know? Like I think there's such controversy with, you know, reality stars and TikTokers and influencers doing carpets. But I think everything evolves. And I think I don't look at it the way that I used to a couple years ago. And I think like people would say the same thing when you were young and on camera, right? Everything is going to evolve. And the cream rises to the top. Like some people are going, it's going to be a one and done. Exactly. It's all about the research, right? Like, you got to prepare yourself. That's how I always think about it too. It's like that person may get the opportunity, but if they suck, they're not bringing them back again.
Starting point is 01:07:03 So it's like they, and if they put in the work, good for them. Then they're great and they've earned it. But yeah, it is. It's a different time, you know. And I think there's also, when people are making decisions at these networks, they learn what's cool through their kids. They're not tapped in. They're not online. So they're going to throw a couple things at the wall. And, you know, I have a of hosting friends who aren't working right now. Like Access Hollywood just ended. E News is gone. Like the stuff, the career that I grew up wanting,
Starting point is 01:07:28 entertainment news host, is, in that instance is dying, right? It's pretty, you know, it's skeleton and bones right now. And so there's all these new iterations. And I'm of the belief that you have to evolve. Like everything is all, it's just like tech, right?
Starting point is 01:07:44 By the time we get a, you saw our iPhone, a new one is coming out. And I think if you get really stuck in this stagnant way and gatekeeping way. You really just hurt yourself because people are going to do their thing regardless. I can't hate on the young girls for if I posted a video and got an opportunity and was
Starting point is 01:08:00 working at Verizon, I can't be mad if I take, you know, if somebody takes that opportunity. Like you've got to just go with it and can't be jealous about that stuff. For sure. And you can allow yourself to be frustrated like, you know, why am I not getting this opportunity? But at the same time, if you're not evolving and trying, then
Starting point is 01:08:16 the opportunity isn't going to come. And this is the best time to create. It's the frustrating time because there's no blueprint right now. We're used to going having, like back in the day you could go, if your show got canceled, go have network meetings and other networks. When I left TMZ, I went to The Insider at CBS. When I left the insider CBS, I started
Starting point is 01:08:32 hosting love and hip hoper unions. And then after that I went to E. It's not like that anymore. Like a lot of times you can't jump from one thing to another, but it allows you that space to create your own thing. And there's so much freedom and there's no rules. And that can be scary for someone who doesn't have that structure or tenacity. But the people who
Starting point is 01:08:48 have it, it's a really good sweet spot. for them. So, you know, like you look at Scott Evans from Access Hollywood, and even though Access Hollywood is done, he's now created house guest, which does incredible on YouTube and it's created a spinoff show. So I think, like, the people that really know how to create and hustle
Starting point is 01:09:04 are always going to win. It might just look different. Yeah. Definitely. I think you're right. And you worked with so many amazing people at E2 that I feel like we have known and become friends with, and you're rooting for them and everything that they do. It's like, we have Justin Sylvester come in and we're like,
Starting point is 01:09:20 Like put, get on, like, the Today Show is doing such great things and all these, and his own, everyone's in their own podcast. Kelty's always evolving. She's always trying. She has a book coming out. Exactly. She's always doing a new thing. She's always putting herself out there.
Starting point is 01:09:32 And that I just always respect when someone just shamelessly, like, you know, can put themselves out there and be like, I'm trying something new. That's what I did with Keep it, to be honest. Like, podcasting was so new for me. And I had just had traditional media ingrained in me. Traditional, only in front of the camera, only on a set. And I think things started to get looser, you know. It really is. And you get to know the person so much more.
Starting point is 01:09:53 I've really like seeing what you guys are doing with Keep It, I feel like your personality is shining. Yeah, I agree. I think there was, you know, because I am such an opinionated person and like blunt in real life, there's a real different type of version to me that I have to train myself to show up on camera. Yeah. And you know, with Keep it, I'm able to just really, I could, I'm like, I could just say whatever. And when I started filling in, I thought when we were done, I'd be like, oh, we're going to cut. They don't have the stuff. And then I go online and the stuff I thought they were cut were the clips. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:10:25 And I was like, oh. Yes. I love the clips. Yes. That's the best. I was not about sharing a story with you guys today. I don't know if I'm going to. It might be too much.
Starting point is 01:10:32 But you see, I have no toe right here. Oh, my God. I mean, just went through this. Same toe. Stop. Yeah. I lost the whole toenail. The whole thing.
Starting point is 01:10:43 It had to go to the podiatrist and get extracted. It was a mess. And I was like, should I post? You know about this? It was a little, it was a little kind of a side quest on how it happened. So we followed around. Did yours grow back? Yes.
Starting point is 01:10:55 It took a full year. Yeah. He told me nine months to a year. Yeah, yeah. And I said, did something drop on it or? No. It may have happened during a little sneaky link situation. You know, I might have been against a wall or two.
Starting point is 01:11:11 Okay, okay. Might be worth it. Yeah. Maybe. Yeah. That means it was fun. Yeah. That's way better than just dropping something on your flight.
Starting point is 01:11:19 Freaky in the middle of it, though. Yeah, exactly, exactly. Naked and bleeding. That happened to my friend the night before my wedding. Stop. She broke her toe. Stop. Having sex.
Starting point is 01:11:33 Oh, my gosh. With her husband. I said, well, you know, this wasn't my husband, but I said nobody's going to believe this. I don't know if I think I had to. She'll be fine. She'll be fine. I think I told people was at the Dodger game. It was not.
Starting point is 01:11:45 It was after the Dodger game. I was running at the step to the Dodger game. they're like I don't know my best friend was like I can't believe this kind of stuff happens to you I'm like not me having to go to the ER that's an amazing story but you got it done
Starting point is 01:11:59 everything was done and then you went to the ER well yeah he just put it we just put an ace bandage in some Advil we kept the party going did you get yours like I mean I was a little distracted I think my adrenaline I think my adrenaline was going
Starting point is 01:12:14 Once there's one little whatever it is something else pops in your brain during those moments. Your child is with us. You gotta stay on the road. If you take a detour. It's hard. And you can be like, look, forget about the toe, forget about the toe.
Starting point is 01:12:32 You're going to keep thinking about the toe. My toenail was like, hey, girl. You know, it was in the wind. My toenel was like, we might need some help, girl. Yeah. You know what the best is when something happens and you like keep it to yourself. Though when at the end you're like, I don't, like, now I'm talking about my business. but recently I like my my fingernail like got caught on my comforter or whatever I don't know what
Starting point is 01:12:53 happened it hurts so fucking bad but I was like no don't ruin the moment don't ruin the moment it's my husband he would have been fine he would have been fine yeah yes I was like whatever and at the end I was like my finger hurts so fucking bad we try to power through it right he was like why wouldn't you why wouldn't you say something during I was like oh because I was in the moment but at the same time I was like oh my finger's gonna fucking hurt after no he was like are you okay I was like It's fine. Just get an ace bandage. And now that I think about it,
Starting point is 01:13:21 I had maybe a few too much micholadas at the Dodger game. But I was like, what was wrong with me? Like, I was like, just get an ace bandage. I thought. He's literally like, it was the most comical thing I think I've ever seen with my eyes that I can't believe happened to me.
Starting point is 01:13:35 That's like out of a TV show. These are the stories we live for, though. Can you imagine like being naked, your foot's bleeding and you're running around. He's flopping around trying to feed. And you know, men do not do well with broken nails. No, no. They freak out.
Starting point is 01:13:47 We're used to broken nails because we get them so much. They don't do well with injuries. Women hurting, period. They want to give you water every time. He's like, do you need, well? I said, what is water going to do for my toe? You need some water? You need some water.
Starting point is 01:13:59 They always want to give you water. Let me grab me water. My husband thinks water will solve any element. If you're crying, if you're hurt, if you're upset. Did you drink water today? Oh, yes. If I'm just like, I'm just like, I'm having a stress today. He's like, did you drink enough water?
Starting point is 01:14:12 Right. You're like, seriously? What does this bitch in the line harassing me out to do? with water, but they, for whatever, it's their first go-tree. It's insane. Always. What is wrong with them? But yes, I'm an adult. I drank water today. My toe's bleeding. He's like, let me get you some water.
Starting point is 01:14:28 So how long has it been now with this toe? Like, are we on the come up? This just happened. Oh, shit. This happened two days before my trip to New York. Oh, shit. You got a whole. Literally. Let me just tell you, buckle up. You have a long year ahead of you because I, mine would, for a while she's putting a fake toe on us. Then I had to get a fake to nail. Oh, let me know where you found it.
Starting point is 01:14:44 And let me just say, like, mine is a way less interesting story that I just stubbed mine on a fucking Stanley water bottle when I got up those things are deadly no you know what I had to because I was coming here and I'm going to D.C and so I have I have to like I have my luggage here with me now and I'm like a delta diamond member like I know how to fly oh yeah I had to get the wheelchair service I was so embarrassed because I can't walk long distances because my toe is so messed up it messes up my equilibrium and I'm like can I request the ADI? I was so embarrassed.
Starting point is 01:15:17 The lady's like, no, that's what it's for? And she's like, now what happened? I said, oh, it happened at the Dodger game. Like, I'm so embarrassed. I can't tell you. I didn't see my steps. Yes. I was like, oh, you know, I can't see.
Starting point is 01:15:27 I'm in the middle of it. They put a lead brick into my popcorn bucket. I don't know, girl. And the ladies, the flight attendants were so sweet. They're like, do you need ice? And, you know, and I'm literally like trying to unbandage and bandage his thing. When you're playing through the pain, sometimes if something happens and you're like, those moans sound different.
Starting point is 01:15:42 Right. Right. You sound angry. You sound angry. Yeah. It's a different type of time. You're like, whoa, that's a deeper one. Yes.
Starting point is 01:15:52 It is the most, like, I've never really had an accident during the act, and this was literally like now it's a core memory. I think it bonded us, honestly. It does because, listen, my friend, when it happened the night before our wedding, and at our wedding, she was dancing nonstop on the dance floor. And then the next day, she told me, she's like, yeah, I broke my toe the night before. Well, she said it hurt really bad, but she was like, I wasn't going to let this room. my time at the wedding.
Starting point is 01:16:16 And then she literally was walking around with a boot afterwards. I'm like, you know what? That's nice. And then I, you know, soon after they ended up having a baby and everything. So I was like, oh. So I bought you.
Starting point is 01:16:26 Yeah. I will say it was very sweet. Like he gave me Advil and wrapped me in a little band. Yes. Yeah. Good. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:16:33 A little kiss on the forehead. Yes. Until I was in the hospital. I literally had to go to the hospital. I was like, I'm in the hospital right now. At least it's a telling your, you know, you got to go through that with the guy to be like, how are you to react?
Starting point is 01:16:42 That's true because he could have just been like, I don't know what I tied out. There's nothing that gives you more the ick than a man who doesn't know how to act in like a situation. 100% of that or like with your period. Like, grow up. So I feel like that definitely catapulted this situation. It was like I thought I was just having fun. And then the next day he's checking him.
Starting point is 01:17:00 He's like, okay, now tell me about the hospital. What's going on? Can you drive? Like it was a whole mess. So that's my story about my big toe. I'm going to be now keeping up with this. Like you need to give me updates on this toe. I'll send you advice.
Starting point is 01:17:12 what people send me. You know what people were sending? Toe covers. I actually really want help because I don't, I am, I am like a manicure girlie. I go to the salon every two weeks. Like, I keep my nails done. It's devastating that I am only working with nine good toes. You should really.
Starting point is 01:17:28 And you can't do it. Don't do anything to it. No, the guy told me. Yeah, when I started putting fake toes on, they would fall off. Yeah. I mean, there was a point where I was like, Fran, my toe fell off again. Like, there's, you just have to let it grow. And now finally, it officially grew back.
Starting point is 01:17:42 And it happened like exactly a year ago, like probably in August. He told me when he took it off because I was asking him irrationally, can you save a nub so I can put acrylic on? And he was like, lady, this is gone. Yeah, yeah. See you in nine months. Yeah. And so he's like, get some cute band-aids.
Starting point is 01:17:58 Yeah. And keep it cute. So if y'all see me in the streets and you see the big toe wrapped up, keep it moving, pretend like you didn't. Yeah. And we'll get you a toe cover. And if you know any good toe covers or fake little toe bandades that make it look like you got a manicures sit in my way. A toe ring.
Starting point is 01:18:14 Band-Aid call me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes. We need a deal for you. Yes, exactly. We need a deal, ASAP. Let's get it done. And the outside is just like, it's just a toe-to-like. It looks like a painted toenail. First-Aid kits for the sex bedroom. Like, first-aid kit. Oh, my God,
Starting point is 01:18:30 that's a good idea. We might need that. You know what hotels they have like the sex kids? It's like, we need band-aids. Yes. We need things to help us. First aid kit, for sure. For sure. Oh, my God. It's so funny. Nina, we have to wrap up. You guys. You gotta get out of you. This was so, so fun.
Starting point is 01:18:45 The best reunion ever. I'm so excited to do. It's full. I love it. This is, and just a little, this, you know, we're kind of like not morning girlies. Don't want to, you know, publicly talk bad too much. But we were like, this is the times you can do we'll make your work.
Starting point is 01:19:02 Oh my God. I love you guys. I'm literally headed to the airport after this. Oh my God. So I appreciate you. I am not a morning person either. So the next time we meet, do this at five.
Starting point is 01:19:10 Exactly. And we can have drinks. We prefer to have a co-stale with us as well. We'll have some martini, some wine. This is the perfect table for it. Thank you so much, Nina. Thank you guys. So much.
Starting point is 01:19:20 So much fun. The world is too loud, too filtered, too fake, but not here. Not with us. Starting point is 01:21:27 All right, let's get into the Pop Corner. We're taking your hot takes, your voicemails, your opinions. Noah played that first track. Hey, Maria, Fran, and Noah. I love your guys' podcast so much. for a few years. Oh, this is Addie, but I have a situation come up recently where I call my dad at the gym usually when I'm walking on the treadmill, right?
Starting point is 01:21:49 Because he doesn't live by me, so it's just like a good time for both of us to call. And I've done this like hundreds of times that always make sure people next to me have headphones in because like I don't want them listening to my conversation. But this past week, I was at the gym on the treadmill, call my dad, both people next to me have headphones in and I'm just sitting there talking and a man about 10 feet in front of me on the elliptical row gets off comes over to me and starts telling me how rude I am and how inappropriate is that I'm on the phone and talking in the gym and I'm so rude and terrible and how it's like being on the phone in a restaurant and I just should never do that and like I just am so
Starting point is 01:22:32 rude to everyone else around me. Oh my goodness. And obviously, like, I apologize, and he could have been nice or obviously bringing up the first time. But I just, like, I don't know, I'm curious of what your guys' opinion is. Because, I don't know, I kind of see it as, like, the same thing as chatting with a friend next to you on the treadmill. Or, like, people stop and have conversations in the gym all the time. And mind you, this old man didn't have any headphones. So, like, yeah, he could hear me.
Starting point is 01:22:59 But, like, is it my fault that you didn't bring headphones while everyone else has headphones? I don't know. let me know if you think if I'm an asshole I'm sorry but anyways thank you oh she's cute I don't I'm a little torn on this I don't know I have to say my and Addy
Starting point is 01:23:19 you sound like a sweetheart and I love you to death I totally understand being annoyed when someone is on FaceTime or or on a call for a lengthy period of time at the gym yeah now would I ever go over and tell that person to stop? No, I would just, I would probably just do about it internally.
Starting point is 01:23:39 You or text my husband and be like, oh, I'm so annoyed, this person won't get off the phone. Yeah. Or talk about it after because if I'm, you know, whatever. Give them a couple dirty looks. Yeah, like kind of like look back, like, you know, like maybe look and see if they'll get the hint. I probably would never go over because you don't, if it's a lengthy, length, I can't say the word lengthy. Lengthy phone call. Like, I do think that is not the time and place.
Starting point is 01:24:01 I mean, people go to the gym to like unwind. They don't want to hear other conversations. Yes, you can make the argument to bring headphones, but also some people like to work out without headphones. Yeah. You know, I know some people who don't work out with headphones or anything. And I just think it's not the place to be having long phone calls. I definitely understand that.
Starting point is 01:24:25 I think with more context from what she was saying, like, that makes you feel a little bit worse because she's like, I'm calling my dad. it's like the one time we can talk. I'm like, oh, well, that's nice. Like, right. I don't know if it's the one time they can talk. Yeah, but you like to catch up because it's like, you know.
Starting point is 01:24:41 Here's the thing. It's like, I get it if you're like walking outside, then that's a great time to call your dad and catch up on the treadmill in the gym. I can understand that. I think it would be a situational thing for me. Like if I'm going to the gym, the gym's kind of empty. fine people are kind of farther away but if there's people around
Starting point is 01:25:07 and I'm talking I don't even really find that people like if you go to the gym with your friend that you're like chit-chatting that much in the gym you know no I don't think like going on the treadmill or whatever an elliptical with my friend I feel like we've always just both put our headphones on and we don't talk yeah I just feel like that's just kind of
Starting point is 01:25:28 with the gym. And it kind of, it feels like it falls into it. Or is kind of like a lot of people just like to unwind and have their own, yeah. So I got to be honest, maybe I'm not on the side of like coming up to you and berating you and making you feel stupid. No, you shouldn't have been. That you don't need to be a dick about it. Correct.
Starting point is 01:25:46 I probably wouldn't say anything at all. But am I on the side of like you don't make the calls in the gym like that? Yeah, I would probably lean towards towards that. Yeah. And I apologize for that. I think I agree with you. I also do think that whenever you have headphones in when you're on the phone, you talk louder than you think you do. Yes.
Starting point is 01:26:04 And also headphones sometimes do not block out other people talking. I've had that happen for where I have headphones in and I still hear other people talking and I'm like, stop. Yeah, yeah. Stop. So yeah, I guess there's a time in place and you know what, but you did it with pure of heart. You're not trying to be annoying. She's just trying to talk to her dad. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:26:25 Hi, Ria Fran Noah. I have a question Oh, this is Emily from New York Hello Emily. I have a question that I've been pondering the past couple of days since I started watching Real House House of Beverly Hills. Are there any real housewives
Starting point is 01:26:42 that in your eyes could essentially do no wrong? Like, for me, it's totally a hot take, but Bethany Frankel, I absolutely love her. I know she's crazy, but like, whatever. I love her on my TV.
Starting point is 01:27:02 And also Angie Kay from Salt Lake City is up there. I just love her energy, her vibe, and just everything. So I'm just curious if there are any housewives that you guys basically would love no matter what. Obviously, if they do anything egregious, like, yeah, you got to have to, like, right? They're going to go to jail. Eat on them for that. But anybody that you would basically love. no matter what. I love you guys. I've been a listener since the beginning and I'm so proud of
Starting point is 01:27:32 everything you're doing. It's been so amazing to watch you grow. Oh, so sweet. And flourish as a podcast. So sweet. Thanks so much. That's so nice. Oh, thank you so much. That's so sweet. Yeah, I mean, everything to a limit, right? It's like they can do no wrong until unless they do something real wrong. Right, but maybe just bad behavior. You kind of excuse. Yeah, there's nobody for me that's like that, though, in the Housewives franchise. I mean, I guess maybe the Gorgas. I was going to say if anybody have you been Melissa. Dolores.
Starting point is 01:28:03 Yeah, you know what? It's Dolores. Probably Dolores. Like, I fucking love her. And I will say, you know, and it comes in and out because she's always in the drama. And some of these other ladies on Salt Lake City do not like her. And we've had her, like, we joked with our own no show from her. But I will always.
Starting point is 01:28:26 enjoy watching Lisa Barlow. Like, I just find her to be very entertaining TV, no matter what. Enjoy, yes, but I'm not like, oh my God, I love her. She could do no wrong. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's not where I fall at Lisa Barlow. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, right. There's some people that I do. She's maybe in that category for me. But there's no one really that I'm blindly defending. No, definitely. No, when it comes to Housewives, it's just really not. Yeah. You know, but Dolores, I would put up there. But Dolores, yeah. She's definitely the highest one for me. 100%.
Starting point is 01:29:01 That's my aunt. We're always rocking with Dolores, no matter what. I remember when Dolores posted for my birthday, and Gia texts me and was like, are you related to Dolores? I was like, no, I'm not. This whole time have you been hiding that you guys are related? Yeah, that's too funny. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:29:17 Yeah. Hey, Ria, hey, Fran. This is Holly from Charleston. I'm calling to get your opinion on how you think the scoring of dancing with the stars will go this season. I know usually the first few dances, the judges have to give like fives and sixes. And then the first 10 of the season is a really big deal. And people make their work their way up to that. But with how stacked this cast is and how good some of these dancers are, like I can't imagine Jenna Dewan going up there with Val Week 1 and
Starting point is 01:29:50 and getting a five. Like I feel like she's going to start at an eight or a nine. Like should they change the judging? Should they change the rubric? Because I just, you know, like everybody getting five and six is week one and they're just not on the same level, same playing field. So I'd love to make your thoughts about that. Thanks. Love you guys. That is a great question because it is going to be very interesting to see how they do this because so many years people have complaints when like two dancers that are on totally different playing fields are both getting fives
Starting point is 01:30:26 but like in their world it's different fives so is it like if they're gonna start everybody pretty low like if that's where if that's where Jenna's starting week one they're giving her a five or a six
Starting point is 01:30:38 people should be given out twos then there should be people getting twos yeah so I agree I don't know every year it's different but I could see this I can foresee this being an issue where there are people getting like fives and they're completely different types of fives. Totally. We talked about this at Dancing with the Stars Khan and we asked them
Starting point is 01:31:02 if they wish the judges would be harder and they said yes. So I'm kind of hoping that we do get a little bit of a harder grading system this time around. They're starting high, I think. Right. And you know what? You should have a harder grading system. Yeah. Because these people I think are only going to be like magnificent by the end. So we need to start. We can start off with sevens. And I know. there's going to be a couple people that do because it's just, I know that. I don't know how you don't get, like, I think, like, hair, generally, like, I don't know how you wouldn't score them high. Right.
Starting point is 01:31:29 If they're, if they're that good. So we shall see, I'm hoping, though, it's more realistic. Yeah. Judging. Yeah. And, like, if someone deserves a 10, they fucking deserve a 10. Not like, we're going to hold off on this 10 just because. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:31:43 I imagine the judges. They try and, like, pace it. Mm-hmm. I imagine the judges this time around are going to struggle with, yeah, how to figure out what they're doing here. I agree. I hope that they have discussed it because at this point it's like, yeah, they might have to throw the pacing out the window because sometimes it does feel that they won't give a score at the beginning or at the end that is at the beginning they won't give something too high and at the end they won't give something too low just because they're going with like
Starting point is 01:32:09 the trajectory of the season. But if we're getting people that are really fucking good and deserve it very early, they they should. But then you don't get it. give like the pity score to the people that are much worse. Right. Like say, I don't know, one of them is terrible. Yeah. You got to give them the three. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:32:34 The fours have got to come out. Yeah. I totally agree. But I don't know. We'll see. They might, I don't know. I'm actually very excited to see how they score these people to start off. Very, very excited.
Starting point is 01:32:45 Yeah. All right, let's do one more. Hi, Ria, friend, Noah. My name's Katrina, and my question is to you guys, and maybe Fran, you're probably better to answer this because you seem to watch all the Jonas Brothers interviews. And I'm a huge Jonas Brothers girl. I love them. But what's Nick Jonas's problem with Miley Cyrus? And I don't know if it's just me noticing this, but every time they get interviewed and a mention of Miley or a mention of Hannah Montana, like for an example, at D-23,
Starting point is 01:33:19 how they were saying that before the Jonas Brothers, the only one in their era that was granted a Disney legend was Miley Cyrus. And Kevin and Joe were so receptive to, you know, talking about Miley Cyrus. And you just see Nick just like look the other way or he just goes quiet and suspended the whole send-it-on thing. And they did like a live podcast. I watched it with Jesse McCartney.
Starting point is 01:33:45 And he mentioned that his first like Disney show, what was Sweet Life and then he said oh and I was also on Hannah Montana and that like kickstarted my career as well like it and just Nick just like looks the other way I don't know like I don't know if you've noticed it does he have a problem with Niley Cyrus because Miley like is so receptive to talking about Nick all the time in interviews and saying like yeah there was a time like guys like you know it happened like Nile was like Nile would be like forever all this sort of stuff but I just like don't get it. Like it's just,
Starting point is 01:34:21 just Nick like, like, what's his problem? And I don't know. I just want your thoughts on it. Maybe is it just me, like over analyzing interviews and stuff?
Starting point is 01:34:30 Because again, like even with the whole thing about send it on, how they said, oh, you know, that reunion wouldn't happen. And Nick's face
Starting point is 01:34:39 was just like really just stoic and he didn't like say much at all. And like, I just want to know, like, what you guys think about it. Anyway, love you guys. Here's the thing.
Starting point is 01:34:51 He's incapable of joking about an ex. Like there's no, you know, I think he's so, like, jaded from talking about relationships or from, like, early on in their career and everything is so pinned in like a perfect little statement or it doesn't want to ruffle any feathers. He's, like, incapable of making a joke about an ex-girlfriend. I don't know if that's just because of the relationship he's in now. are like what? It's like, I'm married. I don't want to talk about any exes ever. Do you think it's because of that one time he said that, um, Disney Channel games was like Love Island and then
Starting point is 01:35:27 everyone ran with that. Everyone ran with that. He's like, great. The one time I make a joke about my past on Disney, people are like running with us. Yeah, that was like the one time he thought he was being funny about that. And it just like didn't work. And it just backfired. Like when we had Dylan Sprouse on and asked him and he was like, I don't know what he was a part of. I wasn't. Yeah. That's why I really do think he is so. I'm sorry. I really do think he is so. so jaded, like that he will not give a single opinion or like joke that he thinks could be a sound bite later on. Or like something that could go viral. Like he just doesn't do it.
Starting point is 01:36:01 Any of these clips, but just thinking that like anytime her name is mentioned, he's like, or he goes like this, he's like, oh yeah, my phone's ringing. He looks right at his publisher. No, he doesn't really, there's just no reaction. Like, that's just kind of what happens. Um, he's just like a buttoned up guy. Yeah, it's just like kind of his personality at this point. You think he lets loose though behind the scenes? Maybe because I'll just be like, look, I've been watching the podcast. I watch like every episode.
Starting point is 01:36:27 I watch their interviews. I'm locked in. And it hasn't like shown the best light on Nick. No, well, he's a, wait, when's his birthday again? He's a Virgo. He's a Virgo. His birthday is actually tomorrow. Oh, it's 10.
Starting point is 01:36:40 Today. Happy birthday, Nick. Well, I'll say this. Happy birthday, Nick, Jay. I'll say this. Fran really lets loose in a way that some people would, probably not expect. But you're not like Nick Jonas.
Starting point is 01:36:51 Like you have a very big personality. You're not like Nick Jones. You have a personality. No, you have a very big personality. But you do describe yourself as like a rule follower and that sort of thing in the way that Nick would. I don't like to ruffle feathers either. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:37:04 You don't. But you do very much let loose. And I think people would be like, what the? And I think they do too. I just think when a camera's in front of him, he just, it turns into like Nick Jonas businessman. Not just like Nick Jonas, guy who can hang, you know? It's just like, it's very different.
Starting point is 01:37:24 But no, I've been joking with my friends about this because watching the podcast. It's like he's always, there's always the jokes at Kevin at Kevin's expense. And now that they're doing the podcast more, it comes more often. And you're just like, come on. Like it's just like more often. And I'm like, damn, of course you see more of like the brotherly relationship. but I do think there are times that I just you just kind of want to be like
Starting point is 01:37:52 a couple buttons you can like seriously take a breath so when he was doing the D23 when they were all doing the D23 stuff he had made the same joke a couple times and I was like this comes across like he practiced this joke in the mirror you know he said it during multiple interviews
Starting point is 01:38:13 I think he said it on stage we're talking about like now that they're Disney legends where I can say whatever the HE double hockey sticks I want referencing how they couldn't curse back in the day but it's like okay but he didn't
Starting point is 01:38:26 multiple times I remember you texted me and you were like I think Nick is I don't know I said you gotta like you gotta shake you gotta shake it off a little you gotta shake it off a little bit if he's okay
Starting point is 01:38:40 I think that's just his yeah right but I think he is afraid of maybe getting some sort of, not backlash, but like anybody having an opinion about something he has to say. But at the same time, everyone has an opinion on the fact
Starting point is 01:38:54 that he doesn't, like, have anything to say. You know what I mean? So it's, I guess he'd rather play it safe. Yeah. And that's why I think with Miley too, like, though, like that relationship is probably way more complicated and deeper than, than we know.
Starting point is 01:39:10 Yes, they were really young. But there were some ins and outs there. But she very much joked a lot about it during the Hanna Montana special and she was like I was with Nick Jonas. I think that's myelie's personality. Do you think that rubbed him the wrong way? No, but at that point too, I just, I don't know. I just think that's
Starting point is 01:39:25 Miley's personality that she can laugh about those situations. I just don't know if Nick can publicly. Like that's just not his personality. To be like, oh, my Miley days. I'm like, do you ever think about just like changing your personality then?
Starting point is 01:39:42 I know it's so fucked up. Like, oh, do you ever? ever think about just like being like myelis Cyrus and being able to laugh about it then? Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:39:52 I know. Noah's making a face that has it looking like he's going to ask me if I want to cut this later. No, I don't think so. Okay. No, no, no. You like look down like, almost like, why did you say that? No. No, I just think it's funny.
Starting point is 01:40:05 Yeah. That's just the way he is and like kind of always is. I mean, when he was little, they joked about, they called him like Mr. President. You know, he's always had this sort of. Yeah. composed exterior. So, yeah, the Miley stuff is just like, he clearly doesn't want to talk about it. It's fine.
Starting point is 01:40:25 At this point, in my mind, I see him being like, I am a married father and I don't want to talk about my relationship from when I was a teenager. Are there any Disney relationships where that wouldn't be true? Like, they both are equally, like, laugh about it now? What are they, what other, like, young relationship? I mean, Nick's not talking about any of them and Nick, really was at the epicenter of a lot of it. I feel like Joe Jonas is Debbie Lovato are now fine.
Starting point is 01:40:51 Yeah, but they're still not like joking about back in the day. No, no, no, I don't think they could have jokes about. No, no, no, no. Justin and Selena aren't joking. No. No. I mean, that is the furthest thing from a joke. Yeah, no. No. No. There's probably a couple of them that we don't even know about that. The little laugh about it, but we won't know that. I don't think Nick wants to talk about any of those relationships.
Starting point is 01:41:12 Didn't Dylan Sproes make a joke recently? Was it Dylan Sproess who was like we dated for like a day? Or no, it was someone Oh, yeah, Miley Cyrus, and then she moved on to Nick Jonas. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. See, they'll joke about that. Exactly. I was deep in that lore then. I was still just like what was going on at that time because we were just all around the same age,
Starting point is 01:41:32 and it was just so intriguing to me. But yeah, at a certain point, it's like... You know what now? I don't hold it against Nick for not wanting to talk about his, his quote, basically like high school relationship. Because we know that Jonas Brothers definitely listen to this podcast. Watch the next time like Molly's brought up.
Starting point is 01:41:48 Nick's going to like smile. He's like, I love her. She's the best. All right, that wraps up the Pop Corner. That wraps up today's episode of Chicks in the Office.
