This is state of emergency.
What's up, everyone?
It's Chicks in the Office with Ria and Fran, giving you that Friday energy on a Monday.
We are back.
Sorry for the lack of episode on Friday, but we are here.
Full week.
Full week of episodes.
I feel like I'm really pushing.
It's like trying to.
get my voice out is really hard right now. Did you notice that in the intro? Yeah, I will actually say
I didn't feel the projection in the room as much as I normally do. I, it's like a struggle to get
the words out. I've had myself a weekend. I'm not going to lie. I did and I wasn't planning on it.
Like I was planning on laying low and that was not the case. And now I'm like trying to get my words out.
I'm trying to push it out. I'm trying to push it out. How is everybody doing? We have a full week of
episodes this week. No show. We had DC last week. No live show. No live show. Sorry.
We had DC last week.
Thank you to everybody who came.
Freaking awesome show.
Great show.
What would you guys rate the shows now?
Are we going to do that?
Because I feel like that could be mean to some cities.
It's not to the city.
It's based on our performance.
Oh, our performance.
I thought,
if we're based on our performance,
I'm 10 out of 10 for us for both shows.
Honestly, we crushed it.
I think we have crushed both jokes.
I think we did a great job.
Different energy in both shows, but both crushed.
It was a lot of fun.
Trent always brings a certain energy.
DC, we had Cody Rigsby.
I thought he was great.
Definitely also brought great energy.
Sometimes, like, when you get to the end and you're bringing out a guess, you need that
jolt to keep us going.
I thought he was great.
We had fun with him, lots of laughs in the green room and jokes.
And his fucking TikTok of the girl throwing up at the end was so.
funny. I'm telling you, I don't know what. It kills me. And I don't want anyone to stop because I love the way it is.
But it just kills me how drunk some of these people get at our shows. And I, like I said, I don't want it to stop.
But every time I'm shocked. Hashtag drink responsibly. Yes, please. I also want to note like, please be responsible and be safe.
Oh, absolutely. Because when I see these things happen to the shows, then I get nervous.
Yeah. But at the same time, I want them to have a good time. I'm right there with them.
Yeah, and Noah was the drunk as he's ever been, he said, at a show.
Yeah.
Which then he, this was the first time.
And he was pretty drunk at Dallas.
It was the first time he had to cut.
Yeah, but everyone was saying, I have to, like, we need to get you drunker than you
were in Dallas because you said I was talking about.
Oh, it's a dangerous path.
Oh, no, that's a game we don't need to play.
No.
But he was like, this was the first time I had to cut people off from giving me drinks.
Yeah.
I really did.
He was like, we walked in the green room.
We had to get him cold fish.
We were like, all right.
Oh, I know.
We were like the show hadn't even started yet.
But it was so much fun.
So fun.
I got pretty tipsy both nights as well, but I got drunk the night before the show.
Yeah.
And I was like.
Which you never do.
Which I never do.
But for some reason, I was really feeling the sangria.
And I was making myself laugh so hard that I was like, man, how am I going to replicate this tomorrow night?
Yeah.
Like there's just no way I can work this magic again.
And you did.
Thanks.
You did it.
My favorite part of the evening was that.
No, I mean, favorite is a stretch because it was unfortunate for Sarah,
but it was a laugh-out-loud moment.
We left dinner after the show, and we're waiting for our Ubers on the sidewalk.
And we're all kind of talking, and we have a big group of people.
Marty was with us and a couple of his friends, and Hunter Dickinson was with us.
Who's a good 7-2.
College basketball player.
And we're all chatting, and we hear Sarah just go, Noah?
like shaky voice and we look over and this man stranger older guy like is touching Sarah
like has trying to like put his arm around Sarah and we're like oh and Marty immediately went up
and was like get away like what are you doing leave us alone like I just walk away guy and this guy
he was drunk and he wasn't really cooperating he was relentless so they're going back and forth
and Marty keeps saying him like leave leave and you know it's probably a full minute at this
point and Noah was on the other side of us.
Can I just say?
And when I'm not done telling the story and when he like when there was about five seconds
left of the interaction.
Yeah, because Marty was physically moving this guy.
Marty physically moved this guy out of the way.
No, he did.
And we saw Noah just slowly walk behind us arms cross like silent tough guy but like a slow stroll.
He wasn't walking fast.
It was like he tried to make it like.
like an intimidating walkup.
So he was just arm crossed, like walking up.
And by the time he got to where they were standing,
Marty had diffused the situation completely.
But we were like, wow, Noah really, really coming in the last.
I had this visual.
And by the way, Sarah is okay.
We made sure she was okay.
I grabbed her immediately and put her under my arm.
I was like, we were like a couple of like,
we were just going to take this man down.
Yeah, yeah.
But yeah, after Marty completely diffuses.
situation. Noah walks over and I think he let out of get out of here man.
Something like that. But listen, you made it sound like I just watched Marty like for one minute
and didn't do anything. I was in an argument with the couple that was there about how tall I was.
I was like, I'm not 5'8, I'm 5'9. And then I turn around.
I forgot we had that conversation the entire week of the entire two days we're in D.C.
of how tall really is Noah. Yeah, because Marty's friends were there.
and Noah was arguing with him
about how tall they both were.
And you just hear that in one year,
Noah going, no, I'm 5'9.
And then Marty yelling at this other, this man.
And then Noah just walked,
I just had this visual of Noah walked over
with his arms crossed.
Which, by the way,
he scattered once I came over.
Yeah, he really, he ran for the hills.
Although I heard that he, which is,
this is just awful.
And it just people are so fucking weird.
When we all left, our friends were still there, the couple.
And they said that this man tried to get into two other people's Ubers.
They watched him and they waited around to make sure these girls were okay
because he tried to get into other people's Uber's and do like the same thing.
Oh, my God.
Which was, it was definitely sketch.
But we were glad Sarah was okay.
But it turned out to be like just.
That's scary.
Don't mess with me and Marty.
Oh, yeah.
We went to the Yankee game Friday night, and I forgot Tommy said something.
And Noah padded Marty's legs, and he was like, don't worry, with me and Marty around, we got you.
Oh, my God.
But I also was, it was just a funny visual because there's like 100, it's like 7-2.
And I'm like, you want to help out here?
He's, you know, okay.
He can't get to keep his record.
Yeah, he can be getting into street fights.
Can't be any scuffles.
Yeah.
But, no, it was, we had a lot of fun in D.C.
Yeah, I was at a wedding this weekend as well.
Very busy, very busy.
Flustered return trip from D.C. a lot of time on the train.
But beautiful wedding, which is why I wasn't, couldn't make it to,
I was really hoping if I could finagle a way to go to the Taylor Swift shows in Philly.
Couldn't do it.
My sister went on Saturday.
You got to be in the right mind.
You can't show up tired and hung over to the concert.
No, exactly.
I just wouldn't have been in the right mindset.
but I definitely lived vicariously through Gia.
And she got forever and always end this love to a great surprise songs.
Tia deserved it.
She did, she did.
She had quite a week.
She's been crushing it.
Yeah, I was just so jealous.
I had such a fantastic weekend.
Like I would rate it as one of my best weekends and like a good weekend.
Fantastic weekend.
Maybe not one of my best weekends ever.
Or maybe it was just I would.
rated an A-plus weekend that I had, okay?
Because on Thursday, the couple that was with us, they live in D.C.,
but then they came back and slept over our apartment Thursday night and we just, like,
cuddled on the couch, watched a wet-rent can't jump.
I face-planted on the street because we went for a lovely walk, which was got my one fall of the year,
which was highly embarrassing.
Good, but you got it out of your system.
I fell, Fran.
I always try and get mine out early in the year.
Fran.
I fell so fucking hard.
I haven't felt that hard and I don't know years.
It was so embarrassing.
But I woke up Friday.
On the sidewalk?
Walking out of our apartment building, okay?
It's us four.
And then there's a girl on the elevator with us that's bringing her dog out for a walk.
So we're all walking out of the building.
And Leah turns to me and she's like, oh my God, it's beautiful out.
And I looked around.
I was like, ooh, I love this little walk.
And as I'm doing like a little shimmy with my shoulders,
I just tripped and fucking face planted to the ground.
Knees hit.
Everything hits.
And I'm like crying, laughing.
There is still something so funny about a fall.
You know, it's the purest form of humor.
Just somebody eating shit.
You would have been laughing so hard.
And the girl, I was pissed because the girl behind us that was getting off the elevator,
listen, I have three people hovering over me right now, which is embarrassing enough, right?
They're all hovering over me to pick me up.
And she just yells from the back.
Are you okay?
I was like, oh my God.
Keep on moving.
Take your little dog and get out of here.
I'm fine.
I'm fine.
I'm brushing it off.
I'm wiping the scrapes off my knees.

But I woke up Friday and I was like,
I hit a wall, you know, because we had the show.
Thursday, I wake up Friday, I hit a fucking wall.
I was like, I can't.
Battery was empty.
That's why I could say,
post show, battery is empty.
I got to recharge by sitting in complete silence.
I was on empty.
And I was like, Marty was at work and I texted him.
I was like, I don't think I'm going to the game tonight.
Yeah, yeah, you had a moment.
I had a moment.
I was like, I don't think I'm going to the game.
And then I just.
I was like, you know what?
Fucking push through.
What are you going to do?
Sit around all day and then tomorrow
you're not going to want to do anything
because you sit.
No, no.
Get up.
Sometimes when you play out that scenario
in your mind and everyone does this
it's just like
the moment where you think
God, I might just cancel everything
I have to do today.
Like even when you wake up in the morning
Joe and I stayed on Long Island last night
and we took the train this morning
and when my alarm went off
I just, I like laid there for a second and was like,
what if I just canceled every single thing I needed to do today?
And I ran through that process.
And, you know, I gave myself five extra minutes to just lay in bed and think about canceling everything.
And then I was like, all right, time to get up.
Because I'm not actually going to do it, but you let yourself think.
You let yourself tease it.
Yeah, exactly.
And then sometimes you do it and it feels really good.
And sometimes you do it and it feels really bad.
And I said, this is going to be a time where it's going to feel really bad.
And you know what?
I ended up having a fantastic weekend.
Yeah.
We went to the ball game.
You would have had some FOMO too, I feel like.
100%.
We went to the ball game.
Had a couple good food, couple good sandwiches, hot dog.
I had a couple margaritas there.
Spicy margaritas.
It was so delicious.
Then we woke up on Saturday.
Didn't even have a chance to blink.
What did I do on Saturday?
Woke up and then Marty's parents came to Jersey from Florida.
And we just had ourselves a day.
We drank in Hoboken, we went out to dinner, we took them to the bars in Hoboken.
They were like, you guys are always talking about going to these places.
We want to see.
We gave them the whole treatment.
And we had the best day.
It was so awesome.
Where did you take them?
We took them to Green Rock.
Perfect.
As you should.
Just because we always talk about going there.
And then they were like, we want to see what this place is about.
And then they ended up leaving.
We stayed out a little bit more.
We went to a fantastic Italian dinner, though, in the middle of, like, drinking.
Then we took a break, went to dinner, then we went to Green Rock.
Amazing, amazing food.
And then on Sunday, had myself a nice little, like, self-care type of Sunday, you know.
Did my errands, worked out, went for a lovely walk, had some good food, watched air,
then timed it perfectly to go right into succession.
Like, I had such a fantastic weekend.
I couldn't grade any other.
I didn't have any mom time with my own mom.
Happy Mother's Day to our moms.
Yes, happy Mother's Day.
Our momies are in Florida.
Yeah, they are.
And they're happy there.
I had mom time with Marty's mom, and she was so happy to be able to, like, see us.
Yeah.
But, yeah, my mom, God, I'm going to tell a story that my parents are getting mad that I'm telling.
But I'm going to tell it anyway.
So I talk to my parents.
Are you looking for something?
Yeah, I am.
I am.
I don't know what I do with my water bottle.
Oh.
I moved it.
Stupid? Oh, you moved it. Yes. I'm parched over here. Sorry. Thank you.
I'm glad I asked. I am too because I would have just kept looking. I'm like, I could have swore I put it on the ground. Oops, I dropped my pen.
All right.
So I'm sorry, dad, in advance.
He's already mad at me.
So I might as well to tell the story anyway.
So I talk to my parents, as you guys can tell,
because I talk about them all the time.
I talk to them multiple times a day,
whether it's on FaceTime text.
Your dad FaceTimes you at least once
when we're in the studio.
Yeah.
Like, we are always in contact.
They know everything.
I fucking got a speeding ticket,
and they knew because it was in the mail.
My brother opened up the mail on FaceTime.
My parents are in Florida.
They don't need to know like a speeding ticket.
Anyways, besides the point.
Did your brother open up your mail?
My brother opened up my mail on FaceTime with my dad
and then told my dad, I'm like, Frankie, I probably would have ended up.
Boundaries, man.
Listen, I tell everything to my parents, they don't care.
They are like friends.
I mean, they're my parents, but they love just chatting.
They wouldn't give a fuck if I got a speaking ticket.
But why are you telling him I got a speeding ticket?
Let me, like, if I want to bring that up in conversation, I will.
Why are you doing that?
Tattel.
We're tattling.
Anyways.
So, on first.
Friday, around like the time we're going in the Yankee game, I noticed I didn't talk to my parents and I was going to text them like on my way to the Yankee game, whatever. And then I was like, eh, whatever. I was like, I talked to him later. Talk to him later. Saturday, me and Marty are watching a walk to remember. He's never seen it. Okay. It's on Hulu. We're watching it. We're both. Rip your heart out, sobbing. Yeah. A walk to remember gets you more than like people. I think that's, it's impossible not.
to cry no matter how many times we see that movie.
Fran, when that song plays,
oh, friend, I started crying
the minute we press play on the movie
because I knew what happens. And I'm crying
throughout the whole movie and Marty's like, I don't know
what happened yet. Why are you crying? I've never even heard of this.
Oh, so good. But anyways,
we're sobbing and my dad is calling me on FaceTime
and I click ignore and I text him,
watching a movie, call you back later. Yeah. He goes,
I won't be around later.
Like, okay.
He just says unavailable.
I won't be around later.
I'm like, that was a fresh response.
That was sassy.
I'm like, all right, let's wipe our tears call my dad.
Clearly, we, he, then he wrote like, I had to tell you something.
So I'm like, all right, what could this be?
We call him.
And he's telling this story, right, about how my brother, my brother was calling my dad to tell him that he changed the filter for the air conditioner, whatever, and that my dad didn't pick up the foam.
and then my brother complained to my sister
that my dad has no time for him anymore
and that he couldn't even take 30 seconds
to answer the phone call for my brother.
My dad was in the hospital.
He had an ambulance come and get him.
What?
But he is not, that is not the first layer of the story.
In Florida?
In Florida.
The first layer of the story is the fact that
he's making fun of my brother saying
that he has no time for him, but really
he just couldn't pick up the phone because an ambulance
was coming to get him to bring him to the hospital
because he had an awful allergic reaction
to some medicine. Your brother?
Your dad was going to the hospital. My dad was
going to the hospital. So he couldn't pick up the phone
for my brother. And my brother's complaining
that my dad doesn't talk to him on the phone.
Meanwhile, my dad's in the hospital.
And so my dad's telling this story.
And he didn't lead with... No, he didn't lead with that.
He didn't lead with I went to the hospital. No, no. He led with
Frankie's saying I don't have time.
for him. And guess why I didn't answer?
In the hospital?
He had a bad allergic reaction.
He said his chest tightened up, whatever.
The doctor said, if he didn't get there until he was like, I was this close.
I was knocking on heaven's door.
This is how he's telling the story.
I'm like, Jesus Christ.
And he's like, you know, I'm laying on the bed and my chest is tight.
And Norman's jumping on my face, licking me.
And I can't get him off.
And then these three really good looking guys, ambulance come in to get me.
And he's like, and I'm all embarrassed.
And mom's there.
And I'm, I'm this guy and I can't move.
And I have these three good-looking guy.
And, like, this is all I'm hearing.
And I'm, like, cracking up, right?
So he gets to the end of the story.
It was just the fact that he wasn't answering the phone because he was in the hospital.
I'm like, well, I'm glad you're okay, dad.
And he's like, oh, I'm great.
He's drinking by the pool.
Yeah, yeah, it says.
A little, what's an allergic reaction?
A little while later, I'm with Marty's parents.
And I'm telling them the story.
And Marty's dad is like, what's with the three good looking guys?
Why did he have to mention that?
And I was like, my dad grew up with three sisters.
Like he is very, he takes notice.
And not just, just beautiful people in general.
Yeah, my dad doesn't matter.
It doesn't discriminate.
He does not discriminate.
He admires any beautiful person.
I said that he fixates on things about people.
Like with Marty, he's like, oh, he's so tall.
Like he's just always like, oh, he's so tall.
Yeah.
So Marty's dad's cracking up
And he's like, I want to text him and say
I heard three good-looking guys took care of you
And I can tell by my dad's replies
That he's like not in his like usual joking
Yeah, yeah
And I call him yesterday and I'm like
What was up with the sass on Saturday?
And he was like, well, you know
I tell my son about
What happened and I get a text from his
Significant Other's dad about the three good-looking guys
And then I tell my daughter the story
and I got a text from her significant other's dad's
about the three good looking guys.
He goes, why is everyone fixated on the three good looking guys?
I'm like, why were you fixated on the three good looking guys?
And he's like, well, you didn't let me finish.
He was just telling the whole story.
He was like, I was painting a picture.
And you didn't let me finish.
Exactly.
He goes, you didn't let me finish the story, by the way.
I got the last laugh.
I had a really cute, gorgeous, beautiful nurse
taking care of me at the end.
And I was like, dad, if you wanted to include that in the story,
the first time around, you would have just told that part.
You would have just included that.
He goes, no, you didn't let me finish my story.
I was like, Dad, we were on FaceTime for an hour.
You know what?
You wanted to include that.
You could have.
So he got a little sensitive.
Team Big Mike on that one.
Honestly, that is an important tip bit of the story.
He left it out.
No, but including that they were three good-looking guys,
I think there's an important element to the story.
He was painting the picture.
He was.
And he got a little sensitive that we were repainting the picture for other people.
And we also felt the need to throw in the three good-looking guys and yesterday all day. I'm hearing you and my kids don't even care my kids don't even care
I'm like I'm like dad I'm so sorry, but I'm glad you're okay. Yeah and the allergic reaction we're good now. He's safe. I was like that's so just throwing that in randomly just casual got taken away by an ambulance. Glad he's okay though and dad that is the most parent that's like truly sometimes you they your parent has like some kind of medical thing. I
and then you're told later they're like
and you're like what the fuck you couldn't have
told me that they're like
not a big deal
they just they didn't want to tell you
you're like uh would have loved to know that
my mom sent this picture of my dad painting
yesterday
and he goes
she writes she writes
can I see the picture
she writes Mother's Day with daddy and I wrote
my mommy paints so beautifully
oops I meant dad
look at this picture of him painting
so he painting the three
guys.
Oh my God.
He's doing a little paint by numbers.
Oh, look at his, he's got his glasses on.
I know.
So that's a sweet picture.
It is.
It's very sweet.
They're enjoying their time in Florida.
This is what retired life looks like, you know?
It should look like that.
He looks like he's got a nice cocktail next to him.
A little jacking.
He's got a nice tan.
He's doing a little paint by numbers.
But the rest of the text are, we're going back and forth.
and my dad goes
it's just a little therapy for my near-death experience
not that anyone cares that dad almost died
and Marty wrote I've been worried sick
and my dad thought that
oh okay no he's like oh my god
mattie he kills me he kills me
really glad you're okay dad and I'm so sorry
for telling this story to
now everybody else
thousands of people yeah now everybody else
honestly worth it
It's a funny story.
You know what?
That's on Big Mike for missing the Tampa show.
What?
Isn't he?
I thought he was coming.
None of our parents are coming.
Like what?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Marty's parents are.
Can you believe it?
The whole point of doing a show in Florida so we could get our parents to come.
None of them are coming.
Do they have a valid excuse?
My mom told me yesterday she's going to get mad at me now.
Our parents are going to be so mad us after this episode.
I can't wait until my dad calls me and he's like, why'd you have to tell everyone that?
I know. My parents, I mean, granted, I didn't, like, run dates by them.
I just, like, assumed that they would be there.
They have a wedding.
On a Wednesday?
The next day.
No, they have to.
They fly out the next day.
But then my mom was, like, sexist.
And then my...
Sorry, you don't have to tell me.
Yeah.
And then my, um...
And my mom was like, I think I'm...
I think I'm getting a colonoscopy.
And I was like, you think you are?
She's like, I don't know.
I got a notice from the doctor.
It's either the pre-employment.
She's like, I got to read it.
I haven't read the whole thing.
We've exposed our parents.
I know.
And all their health problems this episode.
I know.
But yeah, my parents are driving home from Florida that day.
They decided.
So it sounds like they just don't want to go.
Yeah.
No, they do.
Not that bad.
On May 24th, have to drive home that day.
They are taking Norman and my non-o's dog home.
So they are like, we have that whole thing like maybe.
I know that Norman was going to run.
across the stage honestly just would have been a disaster yeah would have been would have peed everywhere
all right i'm glad that we expose our parents on this podcast they will laugh happy mothers and also
half have happy mad happy happy i forgot to say that i got summoned for jury duty and i wanted to like
crowdsource how i can get out of it so let me know people what are you crowdsourcing though when i've
told you that i have done this but my main thing is like do i try to get out of it before i go like call
an email no you have to show up no but it said i can reschedule
for like months later.
No, but if you reschedule,
then you have to show up.
If you show up and then...
If you reschedule for four months from now,
you still have to show up to that day four months or now.
As somebody who has done this,
you show up,
you do the day.
Wait, do the day?
It's a long day.
It's a long day.
And they call you in.
You find out the case.
And then they go,
does anybody need to be excused from this?
Can nobody...
If you can't do this, raise your hand.
You raise your hand?
This was six years ago I did this.
I said, I have an internship.
They said, you're excused.
Then I got a letter.
Your excuse for Jerry, Dirty for six years.
So it counts.
It counts.
If you do the whole day, it counts.
If you're a producer, I do live, something.
We are on tour.
Say you produce a tour.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm just worried that, like, they're going to be like, I don't care.
I showed up and I wasn't even needed.
Like, when I showed up, I say they're all day, and then they came out.
To everyone in the room, they were like, we don't have a case for anybody goodbye.
Yeah.
And then your excuse.
I think the jury did.
I think that Jerry duty showed.
clouding my thought process because of James
Marson like trying to get of it and I'm not letting him.
It was fake.
No, I know it was.
I know it was fake.
I know it was fake.
They will let anybody out.
Guess what?
In real life, if James Marsen showed up to jury duty, he would be excused.
He's excuse before he even opens his mouth.
Like they, you could say anything.
Watch me get stuck in like a three month trial.
That won't happen.
It just won't happen.
All right.
But go to that day because.
I will.
You don't, if you reschedule, you're going to have to do it again.
No one thinks he's going to have to like do the same thing.
that they did on the show.
I really do.
He's going to be like that guy who stood up and be like, I'm racist.
Like, and they're like, what?
Like, well, you got to sit there.
No, I know.
What does it call?
All you got to do is just tell like.
Sequested.
Yeah, you're not going to be sequestered.
Just say like you have a serious job.
You produce live events.
You can't miss those things.
Do I have to like say this in front of everyone?
Yeah.
Yeah.
They are not even listening to you.
I heard about six people get excused where I was.
I don't remember any of their reasons.
You're fine.
All right, let's get into the topics.
Yeah, sorry, guys.
Let's get into the topics.
