Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, Chicks in the Office listeners, you can find every episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or YouTube. Prime members can listen ad free on Amazon Music. This is... What's up, everyone? It's Chicks in the Office with Ria and Fran, giving you that Friday energy on a Thursday. Yup, nailed it. Didn't mess it up this time. It is Thursday. I had to think for a second. Of course, this podcast is presented by Macy's, our absolute favorite department. where we have been shopping all quarantine long. We're getting the best, the best stuff.
Starting point is 00:00:45 I'm talking about sweatpants, Nike sweatpants that I absolutely love and live in. A lot of cute outfits that I'm really excited to wear once we get out of here. And I've honestly just been wearing them around my apartment just for fun, just to feel good about myself. And of course, my favorite earrings are from Macy's that Hank bought me for Valentine's Day. And you guys have asked about that. I'm not sure if they're still on there because people went about them right away, but there are many earrings that look exactly like this.
Starting point is 00:01:15 And so many great options, you guys need to get on Macy's. Yeah, they have everything you need, truly everything for being outside, for being inside, for hanging out, for going out, for working out. Truly, anything you need, you can get it for Macy's. I was trying stuff on this morning. and I love, like, there's this, I got this free people denim dress that I love that I can't wait to wear out. And this Puma track suit that's like this neon purple color. It is so cool.
Starting point is 00:01:50 And I love because you can wear the pants with just like a body suit or you can wear the jacket with just leggings. The possibilities are endless. And it's because Macy's has everything and plus and shoes too. So many, so many great shoes. I got some great. Adidas running sneakers because I pretend I'm going to work at in my apartment. And then I also got just like super cute Adidas white superstar sneakers that you could really wear with anything. I got some cute sundresses that I love to pair with sneakers. So I'm excited for that. And like I've
Starting point is 00:02:22 talked about before, you can type in your favorite brands like Fran mentioned free people, which is one of our favorite brands and somewhere we shop often. You can type in free people on Macy's and everything comes up so many options like guests. And then when I'm going to, It comes to shoes. They have everything and athletic wear. They got Nike, Adidas, whatever you prefer. They have it all. So, guys, if you're going to do some retail therapy, get on Macy's, get on Macy's.
Starting point is 00:02:48 com. All right, Fran, how are you doing? Let's talk about things. Let's check in on everybody. Let's do the twice a week check. Fran, how are you? Noah, how are you? People like when we ask Noah how he is.
Starting point is 00:03:00 Yes. I was about to say I'm good, but then I remembered that Noah said that last time and it's good as frowned upon. So that's not what I'm going to say. I'm going to say that I am doing well the best I could be. You know what? That's an interesting answer. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:20 No, I will say this. I've been feeling better about being inside. I think a lot of that has to do with it's just like starting to get nicer outside, sort of. We've had a couple really nice days where I've been able to get outside and just walk around or, you know, to have some sit up, just even just sitting in like the backyard. Thankfully, I am lucky enough to be in a house with a backyard so I can sit in the backyard and get some fresh air because I really think that makes all a difference. Sometimes you don't realize you get into this funk of just like being inside and then you just
Starting point is 00:03:59 get so comfortable and you're like, who needs the outside? I don't need the outside. And then you take a step outside and you're like, wow, that's exactly what I needed. Noah, how are you doing, Fran? I want to get back to your point after we just check in on Noah because I know it's going to be quick. I'm doing fine. Okay, fine. It's different than good. Different one word answers.
Starting point is 00:04:21 All right, perfect. Good to know you're doing fine. No, are you doing, what's any activities, any shows you're watching? You doing any Ives family puzzles? I'm not really like part of that. My mom and sister are kind of. Doing the puzzle, but I have been making drinks. Like, I just look up a-
Starting point is 00:04:40 Noah. I have been sensing Noah being a little drunk and tipsy. I'm kidding. I haven't sensed that at all. I just. Not on the podcast. No, I know. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:55 We make some good cocktails? I just look up like something that I want to drink and then I make it. Like last night I made a dirty banana, I think it's called. Oh, my God. Do tell. It was like a milkshake with Kaluwa. Oh, I've heard of this. Yes, yes.
Starting point is 00:05:11 Taste it's good, yeah. Yeah, this is like you're, you're on like a little tropical vacation. I know. No, maybe you could be the mom and like we all. The bartender on a, on the Bachelor now. Trent, watch out.
Starting point is 00:05:23 Noah's really coming for a spot. I actually came across this bartender on TikTok and I'm forgetting her name now. I think, I think my sister showed me here. Is it the one like? Is it the one like, who makes like a drink really quickly. And she's like, hi, guys.
Starting point is 00:05:37 And she's like, fun. And then she counts. I need the name. Oh, if you could text your sister, that would be fantastic. And you kill me now. I want to shout her out because I have watched so many of her TikTok. She just is constantly making like drinks just insanely fast.
Starting point is 00:05:53 I don't know. There's something. Everybody has a thing on TikTok. That's what this girl does. But, friend, you were talking about how you're lucky enough to have a place where you can sit outside in your backyard, which, you know, it's great that you can acknowledge that because celebrities are really pissing me off because I'm seeing a lot of celebrities on their Instagram and whatnot. And yeah, the quarantine is, it is getting to everybody, of course.
Starting point is 00:06:18 Like, nobody really wants to be told, yeah, you can't go anywhere. I understand that. But a dream vacation in my mind is going to a really expensive mansion, having a pool on the beach. drink in all day, doing nothing and not leaving for weeks on end. That is a dream vacation. And that is what a lot of celebrities can do right now. But yet, they're on Instagram like complaining that they can't go anywhere. It's ridiculous. You are on a dream vacation right now. Just enjoy it. There has been a lot of like, hey, check your privilege at the door kind of situations. Like I know recently, um, Ellen also compared Ellen DeGeneres compared social distancing to like
Starting point is 00:07:06 being in jail. And everyone was just kind of like, all right, Ellen, you live on like a billion acres. You have a farm, you have all these animals like give me a break. It can't be that tough for you.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Exactly. And not really, it's hard. And not to say this isn't a bad thing for everybody because it is. But it is affecting other people people way more. You know what I mean? And it's just good to acknowledge the fact, like, I feel lucky enough to be in my apartment in New York City where I have a little space, a little balcony where I could step outside. I'm totally cool with, I'm going to stay inside because that's going to help other people. And if that's what I have to do, I'm going to do that. But these celebrities that are like,
Starting point is 00:07:54 like, and listen, I like, I like Chrissy Tegan, but I watch the thing where her and John Legend, they were talking about getting to them. Like, I get that. It's, it's, you know, it's, can get to you, but also just acknowledge the fact that you live on the beach, you have a pool, you have probably somebody who runs and gets your groceries for you so that you can cook all day long and you're a master chef. There's just things that they don't realize that I feel like they just forget that some people don't have. No, I completely agree with you. What, Joe. Joe, get out of here. No. Mario card tonight, though, because I've been, I've been bad. You want to play Mario Kart tonight?
Starting point is 00:08:32 Yeah, we're on that. All right. Let's do it. What's... I'm glad we scheduled that. Do they have the... They have the sour? If they do.
Starting point is 00:08:41 Which ones, though? No, I hope you keep this all in. If that one, I'll take the sour and the... I wonder what she's talking about. And the, the Belgian bubbly, if they have that one. Yeah. Some type of alcohol, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Drinks? Okay. Are we talking drinks? Yes, we're talking drinks. There is a local brewery in Long Beach. It's called Bright Eye. It's very good. They are doing like to go big cans that you can like pick up. And he was just asking if I wanted some new ones because we drank all the ones that we already got. That's lovely. Yeah, yeah. He's good. He's good. He's going for a walk. Yes. He was going to maybe pick up those beers on his way back. That's beautiful. I don't think I've been drinking. Sorry for the interruption. No, that's okay. It was a quick rant about celebrities because, you know, we love them. but sometimes we hate them. I just was getting so angry before. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:09:35 you are living the life right now in your mansion. Like Drake? Yeah. Drake is having the time of his life. And we'll talk about that later. But you're living in your, all of your plans are canceled. You got money in the bank.
Starting point is 00:09:52 You have a pool to jump into. You probably got an inside gym. You have everything. Right. It's, I agree with you. and it is crazy because you see so you see everything on this spectrum, right? Like you have these celebrities doing all these things
Starting point is 00:10:10 and saying that it's getting tough but also you see where they're staying and you're like, how could it possibly be that tough? You know, like they say, sometimes, you know, money doesn't buy happiness but in this case it's just like everybody who's struggling they, those are the things that they want and on top of that it's just,
Starting point is 00:10:28 it's hard because it is, and it's because of the time that we're living in right now, but it's even worse of seeing celebrities kind of talk about how tough it's been for them when you see, when you're seeing all these horrifying stories of people losing family members and people losing their jobs and all of these horrible, horrible things. And then, you know, you go on Instagram and see some, like, ridiculous story
Starting point is 00:10:56 and you're just like, okay. I'm usually with the, like, money doesn't buy happiness thing if we weren't talking about corona and we were talking about certain celebrities saying that they struggle with something. I would totally, totally understand that we've talked about that before, totally understanding that money can't buy happiness. It sure does fucking help in this situation though, the one that we're in right now. It definitely helps. So that's just something I've been seeing recently. But that's okay. We try to block out the negative Fran. We move along. We have a great interview with Jack McBryor. That's very
Starting point is 00:11:30 funny. It's uplifting. You guys will really enjoy that. We'll make you laugh on this. Actually, one thing that I wanted to say about Jack McBryor is that he told me before you guys joined, we were talking, and he saw my green wall. And he said that he had a green wall when he was a kid, too. Oh, that's special. Just some background, Jack McBeyer was a few minutes early because that's just the kind of guy he is. So as Rie and I were, setting up, Noah was in the video chat with Jack just by themselves. Would you guys talk about Noah? I was just asking him when I was quarantine was going. Yeah. Yeah. I was trying to make conversation. But he was a nice guy. He was very nice. I could tell you wanted us to come fast when
Starting point is 00:12:16 you texted, get in here. That was when I was like running out of things. I'm like, all right, we've talked about all the quarantine stuff. Like, I don't know where this is going. It just turns into you interviewing him. Yeah, that's where I was like kind of doing. Small talk is over. Where do I go from here? Oh, man. I have one more thing that I want to say before we get into the topics. And it is a suggestion for you because I got in the mail my Jessica Simpson book. I'm very excited to read it. I want you to read it so we can read it together.
Starting point is 00:12:49 It'll be Fran Rea's book club. That's a beautiful idea. And I will do it because I think that's nice. And I need something because. Right. And I hear it's fantastic. I need a little activity. I got a puzzle with my name on it. I am not sure when I'm going to tackle that, but I think it's coming soon. I think it's soon. You got a puzzle that's made out of your name? No, I'm saying there's a puzzle in my home that I bought it. I was making a little, you know, I got a puzzle with my name on it. It doesn't actually have my name on it. It's like a 1980s type puzzle. No, I, that one is on me. That one, whoosh. Because, yes, that would be. I'm so narcissistic. I actually. ordered a puzzle with my phone name.
Starting point is 00:13:32 I thought you maybe just like ordered your own puzzle. And you know why I think that? It's because I saw on Twitter, this is so random. But on Twitter, I think Trent posted about it because it was a golf thing. Sergio Garcia, who's a golfer, he got like this full, it looked like a thousand piece puzzle of him. It was a picture of him winning the Masters. So I think that was just like in my head that you may be.
Starting point is 00:14:00 got like some blown up version of your name to be made into a puzzle. Fran, I don't think I've reached that status yet. I, you know. I'm not going to lie. I thought about it because it's really hard to buy a puzzle right now. Like there's not, it's a lot of them are sold out. A lot of them are like what you won't get for a long time. And I was like, damn, should I just, this is what I regret.
Starting point is 00:14:23 I regret not making my picture with the George brothers into a puzzle. Fran, I was just going to say that. I regret not getting it for you. Remember? when I got all those, I got all that memorabilia of that picture. I thought about doing the jigsaw puzzle and I didn't do it and I really wish I did. I really wish I did. Well, maybe you can now.
Starting point is 00:14:40 I can go back and look if it's still an option, but I think the website was only good for a certain amount of time. But I bet I could still take that picture and get it printed as a puzzle. And get it into a puzzle in some other form. Listen to this. My mom and sister, they finished a puzzle together. The only puzzle available in Target near them was a 2000. piece
Starting point is 00:15:00 Pokemon puzzle and it was just and they just said they would do it? Yeah no because they were so desperate they were so desperate and they were like
Starting point is 00:15:10 we're going to get it I'll show you this is it wow they did a great job though tons of different Pokemon you know they finish it except two pieces are missing oh isn't that terrible
Starting point is 00:15:23 that's killer you do a 2,000 piece puzzle and you only have 1,990 pieces. You might as well throw out the whole thing at that point. No, I'm kidding. I would be, no, oh my God, I would be so furious if there was a piece missing. I think I'd just have to, like, get rid of it. It's just, it would drive me insane. Right. You're going to look at an empty, an empty piece. Yeah, you just stare at that one hole. Oh, God, it would be disgusting.
Starting point is 00:15:51 It would be, it would you feel like a failure. Dispicable. Yeah, it would remind you it. It's like looking in the mirror. It's like, damn, you fucking forgot one. piece. Yeah, you piece is shit. You're a failure. Well, that's really positive. All right, well, let's get into the topics for today's episode. Of course, we'll be talking about Kelly and Peter, some more Bachelor drama. We'll talk about Drake's insane mansion that was in architectural. That's not how you say it. Architectural. Yep, digest. And we will also be talking about Love Island season six because you guys asked for it. We also have Kristen Cavalary and Jay Cutler being stuck in the Bahamas for three weeks. So they say we have a great interview with Jack McBryor.
Starting point is 00:16:42 That is hilarious like I said. And of course our feel-good segment. So let's get into it, starting off with Kelly and Peter. So Kelly and Peter are the talk of the town in Bachelor Nation. It was Tyler and Hannah for a little bit while Hannah was in the quarantine crew, but it has fully moved on to Kelly and Peter since Hannah has left. Are they dating? Are they not dating? Yes, they must be because they're stuck together, but they continue to lie.
Starting point is 00:17:48 Yeah, so Peter appeared on multiple podcasts, and honestly, you'll get different information from each one. It was like Peter Kelly Overload. Peter was on Nick Fial's podcast, vile files. Isn't it funny how like, he says Nick Viol, right? Yes. And then the podcast is Viol files, but it's obviously supposed to be vial files, so it rhymes. Yeah, I would think. I think that we need to have Nick back on the podcast because I need to officially know how to say his last name because it's vile and then it's vial.
Starting point is 00:18:28 and I'm pretty sure it's by all, but then, like you said, vial files. He told us it was via all, like, by all, like, A-L-L. Yeah, and then questions with Nick. I want to do questions with Nick. Questions with Nick. Questions with Nick.
Starting point is 00:18:43 It fucking cracks me up every time. No, so, but they did every, like they also did, um, off the vine with Caitlin Burstow and they did Boutre Happy Hour with Rachel Lindsay and Becca Coofran and, uh, Ashley I and Ben Higgins podcast, almost famous. So they
Starting point is 00:18:59 were on everything and they were talking about their non-relationship relationship and everything that's going on and just some clarifications from the season. So basically all in all after kind of consuming all of these different episodes and hearing what they had to say, they are not dating, but they are really enjoying hanging out.
Starting point is 00:19:26 they're obviously quarantined together right now. He did tell Caitlin Bristow that he is crushing on Kelly. So that's something. So what I think is obvious is that Kelly and Peter are clearly, and this is where things get confusing, because dating, people automatically assume like officially boyfriend and girlfriend. I think they are dating. I think they just haven't said, you are my boyfriend, you are my girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:19:57 and that's why they're dancing around the, oh, we're not officially dating thing. By the time this quarantine ends, they will be officially boyfriend and girlfriend. There is no way that they are spending all of this time together and saying things like, oh, I'm crushing, oh, we're seeing where things can go. They're not going the Tyler and Hannah route where Tyler's like, oh, she's a good friend. That's more like what's going on there, whereas this, it's very clear what's going on because Peter kind of, he kind of told us without telling us at the same time. It does feel like there is obviously something more going on.
Starting point is 00:20:34 They, you know, they're talking about how they have good, good chemistry. And basically that he said was that she's always been supportive of him. He said that he hasn't been working. So we thought he'd go out to Chicago and spend some time with her. Take her mind. No, his mind. Hold on. Let me find this.
Starting point is 00:20:56 because that I don't think is right. He, well, he's quarantined. Okay, so he said, long story short, I wasn't working, so I thought I'd go out there to Chicago and spend some time with her, take her mind off some family things. This was right when everything was starting to hit with the quarantine stuff, and it just kind of became a thing where we've always gotten along really well and had really good chemistry.
Starting point is 00:21:18 We just enjoy each other's company. I just decided to quarantine up here with Dustin as well. and then obviously, like he said, they're not dating. He said, do I love spending time with her? Absolutely. We're not dating. Could I see it in the future? Yeah, of course.
Starting point is 00:21:35 I'd be extremely lucky and very happy if that happened. Of anyone, I'm the last person that needs to rush into any kind of relationship. I just had an engagement that didn't work. I was just trying to pursue things with another woman that didn't work out. That's why right now I'm just taking it really, really slow. Now, that checks out because that's also like why I feel like publicly he's not really going into more detail of his status with Kelly just because recently we have seen him go from Hannah Ann to Madison to now Kelly and it's probably smart to take it slow. Yes, I do think
Starting point is 00:22:09 it's smart to take it slow but I think that saying you're taking it slow is kind of lying because you guys are stuck in an apartment together. Saying you want to see where it goes makes, that makes sense because, you know, we did just see him bounce around to multiple girls. And so he's not going to officially be like, yeah, Kelly's the one because that would look bad on him, considering he was just with two other girls. Now, it seems like Hannah and Madison are fine because they did an Instagram live together. And, you know, they're talking about their faith. They're connected on that level. They're probably connected on the fact that they're not with Peter. Yeah, exactly. That's very true. And he,
Starting point is 00:22:52 talking with Nick, he swore that everything with Madison at the end was real, that none of that was fake. Obviously, we all questioned because it seemed like it could have possibly been staged. That none of that was fake and that he didn't see her
Starting point is 00:23:08 in person until that moment. Like when Madison came to surprise him and they had that conversation that we all saw during the finale, that they, he got her phone number and they started talking and they were you know that was it but they didn't fit he didn't physically see her until they were on that on that stage so imagine like there's that
Starting point is 00:23:31 surprise and then you kind of talk via phone texts and you don't actually see each other until that moment live when your mom starts shitting on you so he said it was like so hard that they were Madison and Peter they were supposed to do press after the finale that they just didn't do because it was like so insane. And obviously he talked about his mom. He said that his family, his rock, he'll defend them until the day he dies, loves them more than anything, obviously.
Starting point is 00:24:01 He said, could my mom's delivery been different? 100%. But where that was coming from was a place of pure love. That's who my mom is. I respect the hell out of my mom. To be able to speak her mind and not feel the pressure to cave into a certain narrative on live TV in front of millions of people,
Starting point is 00:24:14 that's a strong person. That's the love of a mother. So that's, I mean, what's he going to do? Of course he's got to defend his mom. I agree with that. But do you think that ABC could potentially be like not necessarily making Peter do a press tour because of this reason, but an added fact that they're like, hey, we need to do some damage control because people now think that we stage this entire thing. And we did, but you need to go tell everyone we didn't because you're under contract.
Starting point is 00:24:46 Right. Right, right. I, it's very, it's, you never know. That feels a little deep to me, but at this point, because he's under contract, he's not going to go around and be like, yeah, I was totally staged. I would never expect Peter to come out and say that. No, he definitely wouldn't, but, I mean, I'm sure there is a different version of this that he would probably like to discuss, but obviously can't say, because the way it ended just didn't, obviously didn't make him look the best, but I also think he is like taking responsibility for that and realizing that he made some pretty bad, you know, some pretty shitty decisions while he was The Bachelor.
Starting point is 00:25:34 And it was interesting to just hear him kind of clarify a lot of things. And obviously, hearing from Kelly, because Kelly did make an appearance on a couple shows, to just discuss kind of what's going on with them as well. And it's interesting because Kelly said that Bachelor Peter and like Real Life Peter are two different people that like Bachelor Peter kind of sucks. And real life Peter's way better. I mean, that's, I expected that.
Starting point is 00:26:11 I didn't think that Peter was a bad guy per se. I mean, we met him and he was very nice. And just a bad bachelor. Yeah. And many people are friends with him. I mean, Tyler and Dylan are friends with him. And it seems like he's well liked in the bachelor nation, like in general. So I think if he wasn't actually a likable guy, people would make it known that they weren't friends with him.
Starting point is 00:26:34 Because you see that happen with certain people. You don't see people hanging out with them. So I think Peter is a likable person and just obviously was not a good bachelor. Kelly also mentioned how there were times where the producers literally locked her away and so she couldn't see Peter. So there was no way that their relationship could really even work out. She kept alluding to the fact that like it just would never be possible for them to date on the show because the show didn't want that to happen. Right. That definitely makes a lot of sense.
Starting point is 00:27:10 And you know what I also loved because like I, like, I, like, like we said, they also talked to Rachel and Becca. And Rachel Lindsay has always been a pretty straight shooter. So she was definitely like asking him some legit questions. And she said kind of what we were all thinking, right? Like how can you take it slow in this kind of situation? Why would you quarantine with somebody that you're taking it slow with? Like you have to be together 24-7.
Starting point is 00:27:40 And so, you know, Rachel had asked, you said you're taking it slow and you're not dating, yet you literally called where you are home right now. You said, I'm just making this my home base. That kind of sounds fast to say, to see each other every day. How many bedrooms does Kelly have? We're in quarantine together. Peter said she's got three bedrooms that each have their own room. Dustin's there with Dustin's dog and that they're having a good time. And he acknowledged that it's obviously a very unique situation spending 24-7 together if they're taking it slow. And he said, I will use the defense that we are quarantined together so we have no choice
Starting point is 00:28:16 but to spend all of our time together. And I'm grateful for that. Very grateful because we get along so well. I look up to her and just have so much respect for her. I will, first of all, I want to give Kelly a lot of credit because I think Kelly is around, I guess around Peter's age, right? Yeah, 27. And she's living in an apartment with three bedrooms?
Starting point is 00:28:44 Yeah, that's a lot of bedrooms. Like, that was my first thought. I don't know what the pricing is in Chicago, but. I mean, it's a major city. I would think that it's, it's, I don't think it's New York level of insanity, but still, like, Yeah, three bedroom in New York would be like, yeah, that's crazy. I know, I don't know why, like, that was the one thing. When I read that, I was like, damn, good for you, Keigh.
Starting point is 00:29:08 Kelly, three-bedroom apartment. You go, girl. Yeah, now I guess that makes it easier. You know, they're not. And like, when I'm thinking apartment, I'm thinking small New York City apartment, but they're probably living it up. I know. Her apartment looks really cool from what I've seen of it in, like, Instagram videos and stuff. But it is funny, just like Kelly did chime in here or there just to say that he's so much better in real life. She probably just wants people to know she's not a psycho. Yeah, right, right, right. That's very true. Like, she has to make it clear that the Peter that we all saw on the show is different
Starting point is 00:29:50 because I feel like so many people think that Kelly is better than he is, you know? Which I have had, obviously, I've said that. Which I agree with, and I'll probably always agree with, even though Peter seems like a nice guy. I just think, you know what, if Peter wants to be. if Peter wants to date Kelly and Kelly wants to date Peter, then just fucking date, okay? We're not going to look back and harvest on the fact that this whole season was a waste because it was entertaining. And we got some good drama out of it. So you know what?
Starting point is 00:30:22 If you guys want to date now, that's fine. And it's nice because it does seem like Peter is very happy just from like hearing, just listening to him talk about Kelly. You can obviously tell that he likes her and that they have, what's, could be the beginning of something really great. So I, and it's just, it's really hard to hate, not even, not hate, but like to knock on, on a potential relationship where they both have nice things to say about each other. Yes. And also, I bet it's really hard for Peter right now because he's getting so much hate from
Starting point is 00:30:58 everywhere just to have somebody that actually makes you feel happy. It makes me feel, even though I don't agree with the decisions Peter made, makes me feel better knowing that he's not like stuck in Barb's house, reading negative comments, getting down on himself because you don't really want anyone to be in that place when, truthfully, does he deserve that that much? No. He made some poor decisions. Definitely. And now he, I guess, will continue to live out of Kelly's apartment in Chicago for the foreseeable future. Can we talk about Dean and Kaelin for a second? Sure. They are one of my favorite couples in. back to their nation. Okay. It's just something that I mean, they're still adorable. I love that they're
Starting point is 00:31:41 been keeping inside for a little second. Yeah. I love them. I think that they, I'm so happy for them. I just want to say that. I really think it's nice that Dean has become like an actual good boyfriend, it seems. Yeah. Did you see that? I think it was Ashley and no. See, I get confused and I don't want to get this wrong. But I think either Jared's podcast that he has, with Dean or on Ashley's podcast. They were talking about if Dean and Kalin were married because they've been seen wearing rings and whatnot.
Starting point is 00:32:16 And they had said that they think that they had some kind of like commitment ceremony in Europe or something. I did see that. Very sweet because... So nice. Dean very publicly has talked about, you know, not wanting to get married
Starting point is 00:32:31 and, you know, the establishment and all that. But I feel like if they, if he found a way to prove, not that he needs to, but if he found a way that he was comfortable with proving to Kaelin and Kailen proving to Dean how dedicated to each other they are, that's very sweet.
Starting point is 00:32:51 It's so, that friend, that is exactly one of the reasons why they have become one of my favorite couples. They're skyrocketing to the top list. I think they're so cute. I just want to mention that. Shout out to them. Black leather glud,
Starting point is 00:33:02 no sequin. Buckles on a jacket. It's a leash. Nike Cross body got a piece and got a dance but it's really on so street shit I'm gonna show you how to get it to go right foot up left foot slide left foot up right foot slide basically I'm saying either way we're about to slide hey can't let this one slide you're probably searching for many ways to eat easier these days whether you're making your cell food whether you're ordering in you're trying to be as careful as
Starting point is 00:33:36 possible. And of course, you want to be eating. You want to be maintaining your health. You want to be getting those three meals a day, whatever it is. You want to be getting all that. But sometimes it's not as easy. You have to make grocery store runs, whatever it is you've got to do to get the supplies. Sometimes it's a little hard. But with daily harvest, it comes easy. Daily harvest makes it easy to eat more fruits and vegetables with thoughtfully sourced chef-crafted foods that can be prepared in five minutes or less. Starting point is 00:34:23 like smoothies, hearty soups, harvest bowls, and overnight oats. Each recipe takes one step to prepare with room to make them your own. Add your favorite milk to blend up a smoothie or heat up a harvest bowl and top it with avocado or a fried egg. I will say that we had some of the best smoothies back in Florida when we went a little while back to Fran's house in Florida with her parents and her parents had the daily harvest stuff there. Her mom whipped up some smoothies and it was absolutely delicious and it took literally two minutes. Boom, boom, boom, done, delicious smoothie in your hands, ready to drink. That's why daily harvest is the best because when you're at home now, You'll just have Daily Harvest in the fridge ready to be made, like they said, one step, and you're good to go.
Starting point is 00:35:08 You can go to DailyHarvest.com and enter promo code Chicks to get $25 off your first box. That's promo code Chicks for $25 off your first box at DailyHarvest.com. Once again, that's dailyharvest.com. Drake's home in Toronto was profiled in Architectural Digest, and oh my God. there are really no words to describe this place. If you haven't seen these pictures, Google them right now while you're listening so you can look at them while we talk about them.
Starting point is 00:35:44 You have to visually see them because it's insane. It's like a museum. Drake's house is obviously you see a lot of celebrities' houses and you're like, I want to live there. Drake's house, I really want to live there. because we've seen glimpses of his backyard before, which is obviously insane. I remember, I think he threw like Bella Hadid a birthday party back there once and we saw some clips from it. And that looks crazy. And then just to get a look inside of his house, it is designed so well.
Starting point is 00:36:16 You know, you see, listen, Haley and Justin, awesome houses. Awesome. Of course. But everything's designed and Drew stuff. It looks like the whole house is covered in Justin Bieber's drew merchandise and, whatever statues, which is cool. I mean, he's proud of the stuff he's done. Drake's is top of the line, gold, porcelain, whatever it is around this house. It's all top-notch perfect. It's not brand-named, like, you can't see, meaning like, it's not, you can't see the brand-name's written. I'm sure everything in the home is brand-named. But it's just, it's a little bit of everything, modern, classy. Yeah. It's tough because every room is so different. So like it's just this, I feel like modern art museum at this point.
Starting point is 00:37:06 It's so crazy. And like you said, he has, he's using like every different type of stone. He has all these insane bathrooms and kitchens. We know nothing about architecture. No, I'm kidding. Like, I feel like, no, it's true. I'm just like, wow, look at that marble. I mean, number one, it's a 50,000 square foot house.
Starting point is 00:37:28 It's just absolutely ginormous. The front hallway, like all the chandeliers are really cool. I think they call the house the embassy. What a cool fucking name. Yeah, like this, in the article it says, dubbed the embassy. The house takes its cues from traditional
Starting point is 00:37:50 bow arts architecture. I mean, you could truly read this article and it's straight up a foreign language. I don't have no idea what any of this stuff means. I think I probably murdered whatever type of architecture it is that I just said. But the whole, it's limestone. You want to know what my favorite room is? What?
Starting point is 00:38:14 The one that's, it's like yellowish lights and it's the studio lounge. Yeah, yeah. It kind of looks 70s-ish. And the reason I'm saying that is because there keeps being viral tweets on Twitter that are like, who else misses 70's style conversation lounges? And for some reason, if you tweet that, you get 100,000 likes and a million re-tweets. I keep seeing the same tweet from different people, but it shows how cool they really were, just like a little lounge inside of a living room, I guess.
Starting point is 00:38:52 I mean, his isn't full, like, you know, It's just a lounge. There's not the part where you have to walk down to it. And then it's inside of another room. But it's still really awesome. And I love his bedroom. Like his bedroom is very calming. And it really actually is like not what I would expect his bedroom to look like.
Starting point is 00:39:10 It has this like hummingbird, Alexander McQueen tapestry. That's really cool. And there's all these crystals. And it's just like you said, that lounge room is really cool. The disco room is fucking awesome, the recording studio. Yeah. On top of that, he also has an NBA-sized basketball court inside the house, which is pretty sick. Like, it has his logo at mid-court.
Starting point is 00:39:41 And I think it says, I can't see what it says exactly. But he has, like, a full scoreboard. It has, like, lounge chairs off to the side to watch as a ginormous skylight. it's it's ridiculous he has a um marble bathtub that is unreal of course he does of i know i know it's just an indoor swimming pool he has a hallway that's just like glass enclosed basketball jerseys i'm assuming they're all signed like they're just It's just a shrine, like, all these basketball jerseys. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:40:26 And it's just, it's really, it's really insane. The black marble bathtub in his master bedroom, I mean, master bath is 4,000 pounds. Four thousand pounds? How does that not fall through the floor? Yeah. What kind of setup do you have? Oh, man. must be nice to be Drake.
Starting point is 00:40:51 Right. It's one of those things where it's just like, you know what, I don't want to hate on this and feel bad for myself. Fucking congrats, Drake. You deserve it. No, congrats to Drake because he put together a really crazy house that honestly looks like like I said, every room is so different. It looks like so much modern art.
Starting point is 00:41:12 Like just this picture of the chandeliers with his staircase that I'm showing you via video chat. Like that could just be a frame piece of art that you like hang in your home. I would pay a lot of money to have my wedding at Drake's mansion. I wonder how much you would want, probably millions. You would just like rent, probably millions, right? Yes.
Starting point is 00:41:35 Yes. What if, I'm just thinking in the future. Millions upon millions. If me and Hank were to get married and then so, so say, like Dave's like, listen, Ria, I'll give you this amount of money if we can film the whole thing and make it content. And I'm like, okay, reach out to Drake and pay that amount for whatever it takes to get our wedding inside Drake's Mansion. I think that is something that will never happen, just happens in dreams.
Starting point is 00:42:04 Yes. One, yes. But if we were going to play a fun little hypothetical. Yeah, why not? I think that Dave would think about that and be like, Dan, that would be a cool idea. And just like maybe he would, you know, you could incorporate Drake into this somehow. Yeah, but then Drake. I mean, we're definitely not famous or even, I mean, we're not even famous, but just like,
Starting point is 00:42:26 but then we don't know enough people to have Drake allow me to get married at his house. Right, right. But then Drake or, you know, Drake's people would probably give an estimate and Dave would be like, fuck no. Yeah, like that is way too much money, Drake. Yeah. I mean, look, Drake still. Everybody has their dream.
Starting point is 00:42:45 Everybody has their dream. Yeah. And everybody has their price. Everybody has their price. Drake, you still see every once in a while, people are like, hey, here's Drake. He performed at some kids bought Mitzha. And yes, he's probably paid a billion dollars, but he did it. That's a great point. He probably has a price. Let me know the price. I'll work, because we got years. We got years to work towards his goal. Years. Years. And think about it, maybe, I mean, I don't know how you could build a house like that and not keep it forever, but he also is a mega celebrity. So who knows? Maybe maybe. Maybe. down the road he'll want to get rid of the house anyway. And then maybe you could be like an Airbnb. Or yeah, I was thinking it just somebody would turn it into a legit museum because that's
Starting point is 00:43:29 what it looks like. They would just keep it as like Drake's house. You could pay to go see it. Oh, you're right. That's what it should be. Yeah, that's what she'll thinking. He's never getting rid of that house. No, it's fucking awesome. Fran, let's talk about Kristen Cavalieri and Jay Cutler because there was some controversy going on with them because they were apparently stuck in the Bahamas, but not really stuck because they had willingly went on a vacation there with their hairdresser as well around the time that I would say people were being told to not go anywhere or stay inside. So I think that was their first mistake. And I'm not going to sit here and defend them because I think they should have known
Starting point is 00:44:49 better. Like I think that was around the time where everyone was like, okay, let's reel it in. nobody go anywhere. Yeah. It basically, um, so yeah, it basically comes down to this. They left for a vacation at a time that they absolutely should not have left for a
Starting point is 00:45:03 vacation. So that's probably where it all started. But the whole thing is, the whole thing is very interesting. Um, there was a full thread on Twitter that really documented the whole thing. Um, Claire Downs,
Starting point is 00:45:22 who is, a TV writer, she just, she went through this entire thread, basically, and documented the whole thing. And so I'll go through some of the highlights. We'll set the timeline so everybody can understand what went down. So this all started March 12th, which was when Governor Cuomo had said that New York was in a state of emergency. Kristen posted an Instagram from Manhattan with the caption, woke up in NYC, is, you know, street.
Starting point is 00:46:00 She looked beautiful, beautiful outfit. And then on March 15th, she posted a picture with her and her friend, her hairstylist Justin Anderson, that they were taking a modern family spring break. And, you know, March 15th was also the same day that New York City announced schools and restaurants, closing and Bahamas had their first confirmed case.
Starting point is 00:46:24 Now, this is their picture that they were in the Bahamas. And so now at this point, we know they're on vacation. And you think, okay, they're on vacation. That's fine. March 17th, Justin posted a picture, which kind of confirmed that, you know, all their family was there. It wasn't fine that they were on vacation because, friend, that's when we went into quarantine. No, I know, I know. Well, it seemed like maybe they were...
Starting point is 00:46:54 I feel like people were leaving with the hope of, like, getting stuck somewhere, you know? Like, not people like celebrities. That's what this story comes to. Right, like you... So March 17th Anderson, he posted a picture with Jay Cutler and his fiancée. The caption said, being stuck on an empty island and forced to quarantine could be worse. Thankful for my wolf pack during these scary times.
Starting point is 00:47:25 This is where we are. This is us staying positive. We couldn't be social here if we tried. I'm afraid of what we'll go of what will go home to when they let us back into the states. Hope you're all staying safe wherever you happen to be. And then this is also an interesting thing. Justin, big time overshare. Like, boy, does this guy need to go on the social media.
Starting point is 00:47:50 you didn't need to tell us all the things you were telling us to make this a problem for Kristen and J. Color. Right. Like I, he also responds to so many people in his Instagram comments and I'm like, you are digging this. Like, you are making this so much worse for yourself because you just looks way, you just look bad. Like, if somebody had commented, why would you guys want to travel at a time like this? He replied, did you read my caption? Stuck being the keyword, babe. Stay safe. Like, oh, you got stuff stuck two days after you left. Like, you knew you were. were going to get stuck. Right. Exactly. And then they said empty island, which was interesting because obviously what was their situation? Were they at a resort? Were they in a house or people there
Starting point is 00:48:31 like taking care of them? If it was a resort like were their cooks and and housekeeping and all this kind of stuff that keeps a resort going if obviously they had not left? It looked like they were in a house, I will say. It did look like a house. But it could have been a house. that's part of a resort. Right. Yeah. And so also at this point, the Bahamas had not restricted travel
Starting point is 00:48:57 out of the country. So they could have left. Like I know he said, we couldn't leave here if we tried, but like they could have left. There were, it's not like they were, if they went to the airport,
Starting point is 00:49:10 they would have been turned away. And you know why it's even more of a lie saying that they couldn't leave? Because they left now. Yeah, yeah. So you could leave now. definitely could have left. You could have left at March 17th. So then...
Starting point is 00:49:26 It would have been better for you to leave that, not now. Yeah. Yeah. So then Kristen continued to post from this trip. They were promoting things for very cavalier and uncommon James and acknowledging that it felt weird to be posting about these things. She's posting the kids on the beach. Now, then she said on March 30th, the Bahamas had mandated a curfew and close all essential businesses. You could still leave though, but they were still there, still on Instagram, still hanging out, doing activities, working out. And then on March 24th, the Bahamian governor had closed the ports for incoming travel and urges any visitors to make arrangements to leave.
Starting point is 00:50:09 The U.S. Embassy does as well, or cautions travelers may have to remain abroad indefinitely. So that was what it said. The Bahamas are urged to immediately work with their airline to make travel arrangements to safely return home for all international visitors currently there. And those who choose to remain in the Bahamas should prepare to do so for an indefinite period of time. They continue to post their workout videos, their beach pictures. They're in the water. There's no, you know, they're hanging out. They're in the, Justin posted a story of Kristen shopping in a store in her bikini.
Starting point is 00:50:44 then they started alluding to, you know, home the U.S. being not as safe as the Bahamas. Jay Cutler had posted a picture with the volleyball like he was Winston, like it was like he was in Castaway. Yeah, it feels like Jay Culler, you know, he just doesn't really care anyway. No. Like he's just kind of always been that way. Right. Like, they clearly didn't care, but so much over,
Starting point is 00:51:17 so much over sharing on, on Justin's parts. Yeah, it was, they were all wrong, but if I were them, I'd be pissed at the hairdresser. I'd be like,
Starting point is 00:51:26 listen, next time we go on vacation during a time like this, keep your fucking mouth shut. Right. They were wrong. They shouldn't have went anyway. How about this?
Starting point is 00:51:35 I know. How about this caption? So, uh, around 15, this, so, uh,
Starting point is 00:51:41 Clair of Rain, around day 15, 17, is when it seems to have, set in that they could be there for a long time. Justin posted a whole Instagram about missing his home and his bed and posts about negativity in the comments. And he wrote, three weeks of isolation, man. This island family has figured out our groove. Fitness is a priority. So we alternate kid duty to get our sweat on each morning. Lifeguard duty alternates
Starting point is 00:52:08 throughout the day, but it's mostly Scoot Big Jay, does most of the nighttime grilling. Chris and I do a lot of business lady things on our phones throughout the day to keep our business is rolling. I hope you guys are finding a way to make the most of this time, whether it be spending time with loved ones, working on your inner outer self, or just allowing yourself to be a complete slab on the couch and rest from life. We can do this. X-O-X-O-X-Dad. Also, side-note, because I like to keep the negativity at a minimum here, this is where we happen to be isolated. Don't compare your situation or say something shitty and judgmental. Just be positive because I generally believe that being positive is what we all need
Starting point is 00:52:39 right now. Okay, Justin, but like, you don't complain about missing stuff. Like, he said, very chill with my current situation, but my bed, housewives, and Netflix and a normal diet and maybe a glass of water sounds pretty nice. Well, also being stuck. Go to your fucking sink and pour yourself a glass of water. Oh, oh, Justin, you're so tired of your, your little paradise drinks, your little fruity cocktails. Yeah. Come on. Really? Yeah. That's what I'm taught. This is what I was talking about in the intro as well with celebrities just complaining about situations that are kind of dream scenarios. Oh, you've got stuck in the Bahamas in a really big house on the beach where you haven't stopped drinking alcohol. You need a sip of water. That sounds terrible. And where literally
Starting point is 00:53:28 the island's government is like begging people to leave. April 4th, the U.S. Embassy updates its Bahamas page urging U.S. citizens to return home. At that point, there are 29, cases of five deaths they likely face a 14-day quarantine in the U.S. after returning home. And now on day 22, they're still posting workout videos. Are they leaving? Are they not leaving? And then at one point, Jay had posted on his Instagram, day 28, no TP needed. It's him in the water. He didn't need any toilet paper. So everyone was like, is he pooping in the water? It's just gotten to a ridiculous point. And then it has been controlled. confirmed that, you know, in the last couple days, they did return home. So after those three weeks
Starting point is 00:54:19 of being quote unquote stuck, they did find a way home back to national. Wow. Shocking. They claimed that a short, we had a short window to get out of the Bahamas, so we jumped all over it. I'm very interested to hear what that is, because it seems like they wanted to stay in the Bahamas for as long as they could before they had no choice
Starting point is 00:54:48 but to leave, and I'm sure they I'm sure they flew private home. Of course they did, Fran. You know what I'm saying? No, I know. What's I'm saying? That's just like how... They could have gotten a plane at any point in flown home, probably. And they just didn't. Exactly. The whole
Starting point is 00:55:06 they could have been home. That's like, you know, I didn't even want to mention it, but Belle Hadid, she was posting that she was with her friend somewhere. I don't know if it was L.A. or New York or wherever it was. And all of a sudden, she was home on her farm. And it was a totally different place. It's like, we know how you got there. You took a private plane because you can get a private plane. You know what? If you can get a private plane, that's great. But like, like, stay in one place, people. It's just the point. I'm supposed to stay in one place. Although, Kristen Cavaleri and J. Color, like, they just, they walk themselves into this situation. They were like, we're going to leave when we're not supposed to, and we're going to get stuck. And we're going to go to the Bahamas.
Starting point is 00:55:43 And Kristen Cavaleri, anti-vaxxer. Yeah. Yeah, you are right. That is, is very true. So who knows what her beliefs on this virus are to begin with? Exactly. So we don't know. But it is, yeah, It really is crazy because when you look at it and you see all the different directives that the government was giving and how they wanted people to leave or this, that, and the other thing in the Bahamas. And they had just kept posting that they were stuck and this is where they were isolating when they probably could have gone home earlier. They clearly felt that they were, they clearly felt that they were safer where they were, which is, you know, fine. Like, I just, it's just one of those things where you want people to own up to it. If you were, if they were like, you know what, we got here, we're, we're going to stay here for the next few weeks and, and avoid Nashville, I guess. And then we'll go home and then stay in our homes then.
Starting point is 00:56:50 It was just a bad look. You can't be, it was just a bad time for them to be leaving for a vacation and then posting about it. Very bad time. And hopefully they just stay silent for a little bit. it's truly, I mean, I know this is a funny comparison, but like, they left for this vacation a couple days before I was supposed to be going into Bahamas. And like, if I had actually gone and then was posting about it for weeks that I was stuck, it would have been ridiculous. We would have had some issues on this pod. We would have major issues. You're a fucking lying fake.
Starting point is 00:57:32 maybe not that aggressive but no but also like kind of that aggressive because like i probably i would have called you out on your shit there's but you're smart enough not to go that would have been ridiculous yeah that was obviously a trip that needed to be canceled like they probably should have canceled their vacation and they probably have been on multiple vacations this past year oh yeah oh yeah did they need that one extra bahamas trip probably not but they got apparently 28 plus days out of it if Jay Cutler was posting day 28. Oh, interesting. Very interesting.
Starting point is 00:58:10 But obviously this is what a lot of people are talking about. It's this, we've now have gotten into this realm of like the, during this time of people oversharing and putting every, and it was the same thing. I know we don't need to talk about it because it's another whole long thing. But something Navy.
Starting point is 00:58:31 you know, Ariel Charis and her battle with coronavirus. Like, it was... Fran, by the way, said she didn't want to talk about this on the podcast when I asked her. I did. I did. I did. I said I didn't want to talk about it. And I'm not, I'm not going to talk about it. I'm just going to say that it's insane because it's just reached a level of oversharing where like if you maybe pulled it back on a few things, it wouldn't have, uh, you know, hit you in the face so hard coming back. Right. But there is something to just also being like, don't be a dumb ass person. You know, like, you know, maybe if you don't share things, we don't know
Starting point is 00:59:12 you're doing stupid things, but you're still doing the stupid things. So just also don't do that as well. You should not be doing the stupid things, but you got to be real stupid to do the stupid things and tell the world. And tell the world that you're doing them. That's like when people like do drugs and then they're openly like, yeah, I was, you know, it's like, why are you telling people that? Just go do your thing. Yeah. Yep. Yep.
Starting point is 00:59:34 So, you know what? The Cutler Cavalry clan, they're back in Nashville, and I'm sure that their time in the Bahamas was so tough. I would say right now, if you are, you're at home and, you know, you're not getting dressed up, ready to go out that much. And you're trying to find ways to better yourself. Go to function of beauty.com slash CITO to let them know that we sent you. That's function of beauty.com slash CITO. We are back for our feel-good segment of the day. There's a few things that I saw that I absolutely loved that
Starting point is 01:02:06 Ria and I want to share with you guys. Number one, Matthew McConaughey, just hopping on a Zoom with some senior citizens reading some bingo numbers. Love this. We got an I-24, I-24. Oh, Richard Bletch is waving at up high. We got two winners. Look at this, look at that board.
Starting point is 01:02:36 Fourth column straight down. Winner. Let's see yours, Charles King's iPad. Call them out. Call them out. Call over your numbers. Yeah, obviously, this is a big thing we're seeing with celebrities hopping on Zoom wherever they can. They're writing, hey, we'd love to join random things.
Starting point is 01:02:51 Matthew McConaughey, he jumped on here, which was great. Who knows if these people even knew who Matthew McConaughey was? But I said this on the group chat that Matthew McConaughey has done a story reading on the com app that I really like. And I would really appreciate it if Matthew McConaughey would give us more of that. Maybe on his Instagram, like John Mayer does, like inspirational. I would really appreciate that from Matthew McConaughey. I'm with you on that for sure. I just feel like this was a, it was a sweet thing.
Starting point is 01:03:21 and it's an easy way for celebrities to make people feel better. So the second thing that I saw that I liked was Sophia Bush. Love her. Sophia Bush posted a picture on Instagram of herself with her local UPS delivery guy, and it was so sweet. She wrote, I wanted to share a bright spot on this quarantine Tuesday with all of you. This is my friend, J.P.
Starting point is 01:03:46 He's been my neighborhood's UPS man for as long as I can remember. He's one of my favorite people to see it. my front door are on the road while I'm walking my dogs. He's full of joy and always has a great big hello to offer, which never fails to result in a huge smile from residents. Last week, I spent two days cooking more chicken stew and cooking down 24-hour bone broth than I can keep track of. I froze mason jars of it and have been distributing it to neighbors and neighborhood essential workers like my main man right here. Today, I finally got to see JP and give him his soup and broth. It's a small act of kindness within my control in an out-of-control world.
Starting point is 01:04:20 cooking and serving reminded me that we can see our own chips at any time. So whatever way you might be able to extend yourself to a neighbor, a friend, or an essential worker today, I encourage you. Love you, J.P. And then she wrote, and because I know people will ask, we kept our distance because they're, they pose kind of close together in the picture. She said, he ducked behind me for a picture. And for whatever reason, the wide angle makes us look much closer than we are. But never fear. I also gave him his jars wrapped in Clorox wipes.
Starting point is 01:04:48 So many precautions were taken. I just thought this was really sweet and a great way to thank some of those essential workers because they're all people like, if you're home, you're probably ordering a ton of stuff online. You're getting packages delivered to your door every day. And all these people are still working these guys. So if you can, you know, leave a little something for them safely, I think that's a very nice way to say thank you. Yeah. And just a reminder, like if you're in the spot there, you're able to do so, if you're still ordering delivery, maybe tip a little extra in any way.
Starting point is 01:05:20 that you feel like, hey, maybe I can help out in a safe way. Yeah. People would really appreciate that. Definitely. And then the last thing, which honestly, it brings me to tears, like, every time I see it. Sarah Silverman posted her video. We put it up on the Chicks in the Office social accounts of the 7 p.m. applause in New York City for our health care workers and essential workers.
Starting point is 01:05:44 It's such a great thing. Raina from Girls Got to Eat also posted. a video of it, which was fantastic. Just like hearing the cheers and everybody outside their windows. I'm not in Manhattan right now, Ria, you are. And it's just, it makes, it reminds me of why, you know, Manhattan is such a great city. And it's, it's so sweet.
Starting point is 01:06:07 And I love Sarah Silverman, like, just really getting into it. Pots, pans, making as much noise as you can. Yeah, you guys heard it actually one time when it was going on at like 7 p.m. when we were recording. Yeah, it happens. I'm in the city. I hear it. I go out on my balcony. I'm like, whoo, I cry a little bit as well. Because it's just like, it's very emotional. But anything that we can do to show our thanks,
Starting point is 01:06:30 I feel like we should be doing. And some, you know, some of us can't do much. But if it's a little clapping, that's great. We did it out here where we are. Yesterday, it was like a 7 p.m. The town organized it. And they put the fire siren on in town. And everybody came out, was whoop in and cheering. and it really is. It's really hard not to get emotional because it's such a crazy time and we're so thankful to all these people
Starting point is 01:06:56 and just want to make sure to, you know, there are these feel-good stories. And just a reminder, I forgot to say this. John Grisinski has his, like, little TV show that he's been doing, a little segment that's basically just feel-good news. He had Steve Carell, he had Lidman-Welver-Miranda, and they've been doing great things.
Starting point is 01:07:18 If you Google that or you can find it on YouTube, it's a little fun thing to watch to keep the spirits high. You guys asked for it, so we're giving it to you. Love Island Season 6 recap. We have watched the full thing. Actually, pretty long ago, we finished it. We watched online. I don't know if I would say illegally, but we definitely watched on a website that probably gave a virus to our computers. For sure. That website was not secure in any way. No, it made me nervous even giving them any sort of information, but you know what? It works. Anything for Love Island. Yes, exactly. It works. But hopefully you guys have watched all of it on Hulu by now. We got a lot of requests of people saying that they watched it and
Starting point is 01:08:23 want to hear about it. So we're going to go through it, start to finish. Fran, why don't you kick us off? Okay. First of all, I will say that, yes, we did. We wanted to wait a little bit to do this because, like Ria said, we watched basically live. And I don't think a lot of people did that because you had to find some kind of wacko ways to watch. Unless you just waited for Hulu, which was behind and we didn't want to do that. But now I feel like everybody is watched from Hulu. This is the Love Island Season 6 winter edition. It's the first time they did this.
Starting point is 01:08:55 Obviously, it was kind of a different situation because this season was hosted by Caroline Whitmore. We obviously have talked about the tragic passing of Caroline Flack. and we've discussed that at length. So it was very weird and sad to be watching this season while all of that was going on. It was weird to watch them kind of address it because, you know, they had to take a few days off and then they had kind of addressed it in a couple episodes. But that, so right away, it kind of had a different tone to it. But it did take place in Cape Town in South Africa.
Starting point is 01:09:37 It looked absolutely beautiful. beautiful season six. It was exciting from the beginning. I really enjoyed season six, I will say. The first girls that we met were these five ladies, Leanne, Sophie, Paige, Shauna and Janice. And the first five guys were Naz, Kalim, Ali, Connor, and Mike. We'll get it out of the way real quick. Shanice and Nas coupled up first Sean and Callum
Starting point is 01:10:12 I always want to say Calum because of Caleb and I go to say Calum and that's just wrong it's Callum Ollie and Paige Connor and Sophie and Mike and Leanne
Starting point is 01:10:22 Ollie sent himself home like day four he realized that he was still in love with his ex-girlfriend and left that threw me for a loop but I also was happy
Starting point is 01:10:35 that he was up the show because I saw some things about him that he just like wasn't great. Yeah. So I, didn't we see some about him? Um, I did not realize this until I was kind of doing more research, uh, for the recap. And first of all, he was like kind of like a hoity tooty British guy, right? He came from, he came from money. He tried to claim he was like a farmer. Like, but he is because his family owns like a ton of land. I think he was like, uh, he had some title or something. Um, but, but, he was, um, But when the season started, it came out that he was a trophy hunter. And so, you know, there, I think pictures surfaced of him, you know,
Starting point is 01:11:15 killing big, beautiful, majestic animals. And people were done with him real quick. I don't think him leaving had anything necessarily to do with that. But he was out on his own. He sent himself home. That was fine. See, Ollie. Didn't really.
Starting point is 01:11:33 Yeah, no attachment to him. See ya. No attachment to him. But after day one, the twins came in. That was a fun twist, Eve and Jess. They both got to come in and steal a boy each and go on dates. And there was a recoupling, not really recoupling, but they just got to pick who they wanted to couple up with.
Starting point is 01:11:55 And they got to steal their guys from two different girls. Eve had picked Callum and Jess had picked Mike, which caused some problems because, because Shauna definitely was like all in on Callum from the beginning. And Mike, we'll talk about Mike, but it was, that already started to stir up shit. And then we had Finley and Connor with the G come in. Connor. Conna. Now this guy's name is spelled like how you would say in a British accent.
Starting point is 01:12:32 Like there's another Connor, C-O-N-N-O-R. And, you know, with their accents, it turns into Kana. But he is also Kana. But Kana with a G is C-O-N-N-A-G-H. Both of those guys came in. They took girls on dates. Finley took Shanice and Paige. Connor, Kona took Sophie and Shauna.
Starting point is 01:12:56 And we had the first recoupling, which basically kept everyone in the same place, sort of. But Finley had picked Paige and Kana. picked, I keep calling him Connor and picked. Well, it is Kana. I know, but like, but you can't keep saying Kana the whole podcast. Yeah, like it's not. Like it's Connor with a G. No, but it's, it's Kana.
Starting point is 01:13:21 Yeah, but it's not Kona. It's not Connor or there'd be an R. There's no R. It's C, O and A, G-H. Like, like, Wanta. Like in Long Island, Wanta, Kana. Yeah, I guess. I'm just going to keep calling him, Connor with the G, which left basically all the other couples the same except for Connor and Sophie,
Starting point is 01:13:47 not Connor with the G, because Connor with the G picked Sophie and regular Connor was pissed. I remember that. And then it was a sad ending because Nas had to pick between the twins. We knew that was coming. Both the twins couldn't say.
Starting point is 01:14:07 It was too confusing. I was rooting for one of them to leave because I was like, I can't keep up with which one's Eve and which one is Jess. Had a feeling it would be Eve to leave, though, because Jess had a little bit stronger of a personality. I could see that. And I was surprised because when we saw the cast originally
Starting point is 01:14:23 and saw twins, I was like, oh, hell yeah. Twins were, this is going to get wild. The twins are going to fuck shit up. But then, like, you know, five days in, and one of the twins was already gone. So it didn't even really matter. Like it was, I thought maybe the twins would have caused more trouble. But they, they did not.
Starting point is 01:14:44 All of these couples seemed like they were in a good place. Connor and Sophie, like, I like Sophie. I think that Connor obviously was fairly disliked by the public. Like he was a little possessive and, So if you would make... No, regular Connor. Oh, regular Connor. Like regular Connor, like Sophie would make jokes
Starting point is 01:15:09 and he would like get all upset and pissy and like he's kind of seen like... He was the hottest one on the show though. He seemed like a little bit of a drama queen. Connor? Am I thinking of the right one? You are not thinking of the right one. Connor with a G super hot.
Starting point is 01:15:24 Regular Connor, not hot. Oh, that's... Okay, yes, yes. Regular Connor had the bad bangs. Yes, no, I was confusing Kana and Connor. Yes. I think Kana. That's who I meant when I was saying, yeah, Connor, I had them, I was talking backwards this whole time.
Starting point is 01:15:46 Connor with the G, super hot. Yes, by far on the show. Connor, bad bang, Connor, no. Yes. Bad bangs, Connor, no. Exactly. Go. Yes.
Starting point is 01:15:58 So he and, he and Sophie were like already having a lot of issues. And then Rebecca came in. She was a new person entering the villa. And she came in during the heart rate challenge where they all, you know, dress in skimpy outfits and make each other's heart race. Let me tell you. I wouldn't like this challenge in real life. It would, it just would cause, I mean, obviously we wouldn't do this in real life,
Starting point is 01:16:25 but I would not be able to deal with it inside the game either. Yeah. Oh my God. the anxiety I have thinking about myself having to do something like that, I can't even imagine. It's insane. It's insane. And then finding out whether or not your guy, like your guy gets the most heartbeat out of you and then he doesn't and then nobody does. Ria, you, and this is a compliment, you would be good because you have rhythm and you're sexy and, And I feel like you can pull that off.
Starting point is 01:17:04 I just don't think I'd be able to do without laughing slash, like, maybe crying. I think that this is kind of goes back to like the TikTok thing. Like I just had this need to like put on a performance like when given when given the spotlight. Like you would get that cost. Like you would take that costume and commit to it. And I would perform. Right. But that's not to say that you wouldn't like people.
Starting point is 01:17:31 would love you, but you are, like, way cuter and more, like, quieter. Not quieter, but, like, um, I don't know what the word is. Like, you just would be more hesitant. It would not be a, yeah, it would not be a super confident lap dance, that's for sure. Yeah. It's just because you, you don't have it in yourself to be like, I'm going to fucking dominate. Yes. I'm just not like that. Um, But and watching it is very entertaining. I know that this is like one of those really uncomfortable challenges, but it's also one of my favorites because I think there are some people that always just surprise you, plus the guys are all normally pretty hot, and I mean, all the girls are pretty hot too.
Starting point is 01:18:20 And Rebecca came down, and Rebecca is stunning. Rebecca is so beautiful. She stinks. She sucked. Bad personality, but she was beautiful. Um, and Callum and Connor, right, bad bangs Connor. Um, their heart beat went, their heart rate went the highest for Rebecca. So they both got dates with Rebecca in the hideaway. And it's, I feel like right then, not that there wasn't already signs, but I feel like the whole time Shauna kind of knew that
Starting point is 01:18:52 Callum, like something was going to happen. I continuously felt bad for Shawna throughout this entire season. Oh, same. I really like her. Like, she was just, one of my favorites on the season. But it just wasn't written in the stars for her and Callum. It seemed like he was with Shawna because he was trying to get through the show, but any option he could take to get out, he
Starting point is 01:19:12 was trying. Yeah, exactly. And then so, and then I would say that after that, Luke M and Luke T came in, love both of these boys. I would say that these two were probably my favorite. There's
Starting point is 01:19:28 always like a bromance out of one of these Love Island seasons, Luke M and Luke T came in together. They stayed best friends. They were so, so cute. And obviously we just have to talk about how Luke M is Justin Bieber. It was, it still freaks me out. I follow him on Instagram, and it really freaks me out when I see him sometimes.
Starting point is 01:19:51 There has never been somebody on a reality TV show or a show in general that has looked this much like a celebrity, exactly. He looks exactly like Justin Bieber. It's very freaky. It's something I'm realizing more on TikTok that there are people in the world and people who probably look like us, Fran, that we'll never see unless somebody were to send it to us. They are our identical twins somewhere in this world. That guy is Justin Bieber's identical twin.
Starting point is 01:20:22 There's no way around it. They look exactly the same. I know. It's so bizarre. And not only do like their faces. look the same. They have the tattoos. Like the whole look is so similar. You think that he got those
Starting point is 01:20:35 tattoos to kind of be like, I'm even more Justin Bieber? I don't know. It's very possible. I would probably say yes, but also like you have to really like tattoos to get that many, you know? Yeah, that's true. He's covered in tattoos, so I feel like... He's a tattoo guy. He's just a tattoo
Starting point is 01:20:51 guy. And these two came in, they were so cute. The public voted for who they wanted to go on dates with. Luke M. went with chess. Luke T went with Shanice. I feel like I'm always saying her name wrong. Shanice. Shanice. Because I feel like she got mad at so many people for saying her name wrong.
Starting point is 01:21:09 Like the beginning. She got mad at Naz. Nas, Naz. I'm probably saying his name wrong too. Oh, well, it's just everything with the British accent. You try and say it with a British accent. And it's just their names in an American accent. It just doesn't work as well. It just really doesn't. So that Luke M and Luke T come in.
Starting point is 01:21:28 then there is another recoupling where the girls pick first. So we get basically all the same couples, Shauna and Callum, Leanne and Mike, Paige and Finley. Rebecca picks Luke T, which started off like all the drama between Rebecca and Janice.
Starting point is 01:21:50 Jess picked Luke M. Sophie got to go back to Connor, bad bangs Connor. and Shunice picked NAS. So they went back. They were a couple at the beginning. That was just like a security couple. They all liked NAS a lot.
Starting point is 01:22:06 So they kept him, which meant hot Kana with the G went home, which was so sad because he was gone far too soon. Went home way too fast. No, we needed him on the show more. I don't know if maybe his personality sucked and that played into it,
Starting point is 01:22:22 but I also think he kind of made bad moves. Like he was going after girls where it just obviously wasn't going to work. And like Sophie, it wasn't going to work with Sophie. And it was weird with Rebecca. But also, Rebecca didn't like anybody. So it was just- Rebecca was so blah.
Starting point is 01:22:37 And I will say it was funny that Jess even thought that her and Luke M. kind of had a shot. I mean, it's kind of hilarious to think about, to be honest. I mean, they just genuinely do not pair up. Let's be realistic. They don't go. And they were coupled, like, multiple times, which was funny, but it just really was never going to work between them.
Starting point is 01:22:55 at this point Mike and Leanne were also interesting because Mike was going full force with Leanne. It was like super aggressive. He seemed to really like Leanne. They were talking about it a lot, but that kind of came to an end. We'll talk about that too. But then on a couple days after that, Calam and Shauna had their first date out of the villa. and it was the first public vote. The public voted for their favorite couples
Starting point is 01:23:30 and the least favorite couple was Sophie and Connor. And the villa, they had to pick one of them to stay and one to go home. And they sent Connor home. It was very dramatic. And I think people were surprised that Sophie didn't leave with him. It still felt pretty early on. on, but like, Shawna and Sophie were very close, and Shauna kind of went at Sophie for not
Starting point is 01:24:01 leaving, and it was like, it was sad, there was tears, but... I didn't really love Sophie. I kind of found her to be annoying. Yeah, I could see that, too. There was just like... And I didn't really like Connor either. Yeah, no, I did not really, I did not like Connor. It made sense why they were voted the least favorite couple, that's for sure. Oh, fuck yes. I just remember the chat. challenge is on tonight. Sorry, that came out of nowhere. Yes. You are correct. Um,
Starting point is 01:24:30 let's go. And so this, this was crazy because like, there's such a weird, there's such a weird, like, assumption that if the person you're in a couple with goes home, that you should also go home. But I was kind of with Sophie, like, you're not just going to leave. Like you've only, you've only been there for two weeks and you're not just going to, like, ruin the rest of your chance to be on Love Island by leaving what this guy you, like, barely know. And she didn't even really like him that much. Let's be real. I mean, she bounced around. It would be different if it was like, we're totally in love. Like, like Tommy Fury and Molly May in season five. If one of them got sent home, I could see the other one leaving. Um,
Starting point is 01:25:18 it didn't have that vibe. Of course, Sophie would stick around. Right. And, Normally that never even happens because the strong couples, the public knows that they're strong and they don't get put in that position where like one of them has to go home. So after Connor went home, Demi and Wallace came in and they got to take three different people on dates. Demi was really cute, bubbly. I knew like a lot of people were going to like her. And Wallace honestly didn't make that much of an impression.
Starting point is 01:25:49 I was going to say I don't even remember Wallace. Yeah, Wallace was somebody I had to Google to remember what he looked like. But they went on a bunch of dates. And then after that, there was another recoupling with the boys picking first. And, oh, I will say this. Before this recoupling, Leanne had a moment where she realized that she did not like Mike. Specifically, Mike gave her the ick. and if you watch this show,
Starting point is 01:26:23 you know that that is bad. If you get the ick, you're done. You're done. You might as well just see yourself out immediately. Yep. So Mike started to give her the ick and she essentially broke up with him. And he didn't, I mean, he seemed affected but also like next woman up.
Starting point is 01:26:43 I feel like it was his motto the entire time. Yeah, I was saying Mike the whole time was saying next woman up. Like it was not right. couldn't make a decision. He was bouncing all over the place. Which I feel like, you know, you get hate for, but also at the same time, if you're trying to find people you like, well, you like, you're going to talk to multiple people to find out who you like the most. Yeah. It's on a show like this. Yeah. He went through it like speed dating,
Starting point is 01:27:07 where he just tried every person until he found one that stuck. It was not Leanne. So she basically dumps him. Then there's another recoupling. The boys are picking. Calum and Shauna, Luke M picks Jess again, Finley and Page, Luke T and Cheney, Wallace picks Rebecca, and NAS picks Demi, and that left Mike
Starting point is 01:27:32 in the situation where he could pick Sophie or Leanne. Obviously, he's not picking Leanne because she just fucking dumped him. And there was also, like, Mike was making weird comments about Sophie after Leanne dumped him. Like, everyone was like, oh, Mike,
Starting point is 01:27:50 he was like, well, I'm kind of like looking at Sophie. And everyone was like, you and Sophie are good friends. Like, that's weird. So he picked Sophie, which meant Leanne went home. She kind of accused him too. Afterwards, she was like, well, you got rid of me.
Starting point is 01:28:06 He was like, no, I didn't, that's not how I meant it. Well, duh, pretty obvious. The thing is, though, I would do the same thing that Mike did. Yeah, but if you're going to tell me I gave you the it, which is just very personally offensive. See ya, I'm not picking you. I'm glad we don't. I mean, I guess there are other ways that we say things like that, but...
Starting point is 01:28:30 Yeah, like, we don't like that person anymore. They skee me out. Yeah. It's just something about like the getting the ick just makes the other person sounds so disgusting. Yeah, it makes it sound like Mike is just, you don't want to be anywhere in your name. Yeah, like he's like gross. He has a disease.
Starting point is 01:28:47 Yeah. Yeah. The ick just sounds like the suds. Like an SDG. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Or yeah.
Starting point is 01:28:55 So then after this recoupling, there was a vote, which is honestly, sometimes my favorite parts of this show is when all the couples have to go together and secretly vote for the people that they think are the least compatible. And you just, like, the true feelings come out because you see people justifying sending someone home and you're like, that justification sucks. Just say you want them to go home because you don't like them. Exactly. you're just not the biggest fan of that person so you're voting them out. Like they'll be like, well, they're not compatible. Like, well, maybe they are. You just actually hate one of those people that's in, that's in the couple.
Starting point is 01:29:30 So they voted for a bunchers, a bunch of people that got, a bunch of different couples that got a vote. And they, it came down to two couples, Rebecca and Wallace and Mike and Sophie. And then the rest of the group could only save one person from each couple. So they saved Rebecca and sent Wallace home, see ya Wallace. And they saved Mike and sent Sophie home. I feel like that was kind of an easy one because they were all, Sophie was in a weird place after Connor left. So they were like, well, we'll just send Sophie home and Mike can stay.
Starting point is 01:30:10 And Mike was just, I don't know, they all loved Mike. So I guess they just wanted Mike to stay. To be honest, I would have rather Mike than Sophie as well. Like I said. I wasn't the biggest fan of Sophie. She kind of annoyed me. Yeah, yeah. And I mean, Wallace made no lasting impression.
Starting point is 01:30:26 Once again, don't know who that is. Yeah. But Rebecca was definitely in her fair share of drama, kind of fighting over boys and getting like, she and she and, uh, She and, uh, Shanice had a fight where she just like came off very poorly. And they both kind of did,
Starting point is 01:30:43 but it just, she just seems like she has a permanent bad attitude. And she like doesn't really, like that many people to begin with, but they kept Rebecca. And after that, bum, bum, bum, bum, Kasa Moore. Best part of the Love Island season. Best part always. Always. Five new girls, five new boys, ready to fuck shit up.
Starting point is 01:31:07 And we knew from the start that Casa Moore was going to be a bad, bad situation for Callum and, and Shawna. Like, we just, we just, new and it was impossible because as soon as we saw as soon as we saw callum interact with Molly and just like the way he looked at Molly it was over like and Molly so beautiful I was just going to say that it was hard for me not to kind of agree with Callum although I love Shawna like Sean is so beautiful too falling for Molly because Molly I'm under the Molly spell as well she's gorgeous.
Starting point is 01:31:47 When she, when, we'll get to this, but the best anybody has ever looked on that show was Molly walking down. Oh. When they came back from Casa Amor
Starting point is 01:32:03 and Callum obviously coupled up with Molly instead of Shawna, that is the best anyone has ever looked on the show, Molly, in that purple outfit. We love purple. It was, my mouth dropped. I was like, holy shit.
Starting point is 01:32:15 And Shauna is obviously, gorgeous as well. But it was kind of just like this holy shit moment. And not to say that, you know, it means anything as to why Callan picked Molly over Shauna. I just think that they maybe clicked more. And I don't think that Shauna and Callum clicked from the start. I'm with you on that. I think like Shauna had what like they kind of said afterwards that Callum was kind of riding that wave of like, oh, the public likes us together. Like let's stay together that it wasn't really going to work. And Kalam and Molly actually seeing them as a couple made a lot more sense. I feel like they just seemed more compatible than Kaliman and Shauna to begin
Starting point is 01:32:58 with. And then, you know, there was obviously some different situations. Rebecca was single, so she was mingling with all the guys. Demi and Nas kind of had a situation going. And she was hopeful that NAS was kind of come back single, but he started having, like, he was flirting with other girls. He did say that he wasn't going to kiss anyone and Casa more out of respect for Demi, that he would have that conversation with Demi first.
Starting point is 01:33:29 Page was basically like, if Finley comes back with somebody, like I'm cutting his dick off. Same with Janice and Luke T. That would have tore me apart if Finley came back with somebody else because I love page and Finn, and I wouldn't have been able to handle that. I was very happy that that did not happen.
Starting point is 01:33:48 No, I mean, once again, there's truly, there hasn't been a post-Casa more recoupling that I have not cried at. Like, every single time I cry. And normally it's out of happiness, not out of sadness. Like, I'm sad for the couples that get dumped. Like, that sucks. But when you see that moment, like, we'll get into this. So, like, the recoupling, Rebecca picked Jordan.
Starting point is 01:34:11 who was a new boy. Mike picked Priscilla who was a new girl. This was also interesting because Mike thought he and Jess were also going to be a thing. And Jess was right to not trust him at all because Jess picked a new guy. Thank God. Because Mike came back with a new girl. So Mike picked Priscilla. Jess came back with, uh, Jess picked Ched. Luke M brought back Natalia and Nas brought back Eva. and Callum brought back Molly. So that made Demi and Sean a single. But I cried over Luke T. coming back single and Finley coming back single. The two of them, they were so relieved.
Starting point is 01:34:58 Like seeing them come out and their face just being so happy that their girls standing there alone. And the girls were so happy that they were coming back. It gets me every time. Like every single time, I'm just like, oh, that love. I cried at that too. I was just so happy because I would have been crushed, just as crushed as them. If it was opposite.
Starting point is 01:35:19 And it was just so nice to see, like, the whole time in Casa Moore, Finn had no interest. Luke T had no interest. They were just waiting to go back to their women. They were so excited to see them. It was so cute. And basically, like, almost right after that
Starting point is 01:35:34 is when Finn asked Paige to be his girlfriend, which was also another moment. That was just so, so cute. cute. Obviously, it was sucked to see Demi and Shana in that moment, but Shana did deliver her classic congrats, hun, which she has now turned into like a slogan for herself, which is fantastic. Yeah. It's just, she nailed it.
Starting point is 01:35:59 And then, so, you know, after that, we have all these new couples in there. There was another public vote where the two least favorite couples went home, which was Rebecca and Jordan and Naz and Eve. I think Naz kind of shot himself in the foot there because he was definitely a fan favorite. I think people liked him. But when he didn't come back to Demi, I think people were pissed because Demi is so sweet and so kind. And even when Nas came back with Eva, he was so nice.
Starting point is 01:36:33 Like it was just, it was so sweet. Demi was so kind and welcoming and understanding. and was like, oh, no, it's okay. Like, obviously she was upset, but she was still letting it all happen and was fine with it. So I think after that, Nas just kind of was screwed. Like, he picked another girl. He was happy with the new girl, but the public was like,
Starting point is 01:36:59 oh, no, you fucked over Demi, and we don't like you in this new couple, so you're going home. Yeah, and I was actually happy with what happened, though, because we ended up getting Demi with Luke M. Right. Which I love as a couple. It's a way better.
Starting point is 01:37:14 They really just fit each other well. So although that I think that, you know, it sucks that he did break her heart and come back, I don't think that they really were going to last anyway. Yeah. And finally, Rebecca and Jordan were sent home. Rebecca really, Rebecca stayed on, I feel like, way longer than she needed to. Like, it didn't really seem like she had in any interest in, finding somebody that she like actually wanted to date.
Starting point is 01:37:42 Like she would like a guy and then two days later be like, I don't really like him anymore. So that... Seems like she just had an overall disgust with the world. Right. Like she just didn't really like people. It's just like... Yeah.
Starting point is 01:37:55 Yeah. I'll never forget the... Was it Jordan? I think it was... No, no. Wallace? I don't know. It was either Jordan or Wallace who made her breakfast
Starting point is 01:38:08 with the avocados. And she was like, I don't even like avocados. Or do you remember that? Like, she was like, she was like, she was so mean about it. She was so rude. Act like you like you like avocados.
Starting point is 01:38:20 Like, you don't have to sit there and be like, I hate avocados. Don't ever do that again and make him feel like shit. He tried to do a nice thing for you and you were so mean about it. It was like she's never been more insulted that a guy made her breakfast that included avocados. And it was just so dramatic for like no reason. And then, all right, so this was kind of like, we've gotten to the home stretch.
Starting point is 01:38:41 Couples are in good places. We had a new boy come in, Jamie, which I think a lot of people thought, like, maybe he would be the one for Shawna because I think everybody wanted to see Shauna find somebody new. That didn't work. There was not a connection there. That was pretty clear. He came in and took Shauna and Demi on dates, but, like, Shauna kind of right away seemed like she didn't really like him that much.
Starting point is 01:39:06 and then we had the there's a few challenges that I always love this is obviously one of them which we talked about before the news splash challenge where they have to guess the headlines of the British tabloids of what people are saying about the show and there's always something juicy that comes out
Starting point is 01:39:26 which is always entertaining like you know everybody the world thinks that Callum's going to cheat on Molly and it's just all the dramatics I think they fucked over Finley with this one because I don't think he did anything wrong in Casa Moore and they made it seem like he did and then Paige obviously that he did and I thought that was fucked up because obviously in Page's defense yes if you see something like that something like that you're going to believe it and you're going to get mad because that's what the show is telling you but also
Starting point is 01:39:54 at the same time that was very far from the truth yeah exactly and he was so well behaved in Casa Moore I remember watching that and being like that is bullshit um Jess and Chad also got to go on their first date with the penguins, which was really cute. They were just really excited to see those penguins. Chad really cracked me up just because he was so ginormous. Like, they're really, there's really nothing else. Petty Bear. Yeah, there's really nothing else to say to it.
Starting point is 01:40:20 Like, he was just a massive man. Yeah. And there was something very comforting about him. And then we had the last recoupling, the boys picked, obviously Finley picked Paige, Lupti and Janice, Calum and Molly, Mike and Priscilla. Chad and Jess, Jamie picked Natalia. I will say, Natalia, I'll mention,
Starting point is 01:40:41 Natalia weasled her way onto the show so well. Like, Natalia went back with Luke M and got into the main villa and then was like, I don't like Luke M. I didn't like Natalia. Yeah, I did that. She rubbed me the wrong way. Yeah, I mean, it was clear as day that she saw her ticket to the main villa and took it. And then when she got there, it was like, I don't like him.
Starting point is 01:41:05 I want to date somebody else. Exactly. So that didn't work. Jamie picked Natalia. And then Luke M. picked Demi, which was the beginning of a beautiful moment. Because I feel like these two looked at each other. And with the help of Luke T. and Janice,
Starting point is 01:41:19 we're like, why haven't we thought about each other like this? We would be a great couple. And they actually gave it a try. And it was fantastic. But unfortunately, because of Jamie and Shauna not working out, Shana was sent home.
Starting point is 01:41:37 I was sad to see Shana go. Well, Shana also, we didn't talk about, she made a move on Luke M. Right, right, right. And that was out of nowhere, and people were not happy about that because they thought, okay, she's just trying to figure out a way to stay on the show, which I'm still kind of going back
Starting point is 01:41:52 in the floorthon, like whether or not she was trying to stand the show or if she actually did like Luke M. Maybe she did have a little crush on him. I mean, he looks exactly like Justin Bieber. Right. Not forward to believe that she may have been friends with him. and had a crush secretly. But I think that, I think it was the right choice.
Starting point is 01:42:09 I think that Demi and Luke M were the obvious fit. And unfortunately, it didn't work out for Shana, but she got those million followers right away. I'm sure she's doing just fine. Oh, yeah. I follow her on Instagram. She has her, you know, fashion line. The whole, like, love island, post-love Island influencer track.
Starting point is 01:42:29 She's right on track. Yes, good for her. Good for Shana. And she probably delivered one of the best. lines not only the congrats on but when she said if Chloe can Kardashian she said if Chloe K could get through last year I can do it like after Calum came back with Molly which was fantastic she was just she was so right she's like if Chloe Kardashian get through 2019 I can do this yeah very relatable uh she she was very
Starting point is 01:42:55 funny I really I really liked her a lot um and then we just had a bunch of dates and great moments everybody was like kind of and starting to fall for each other. Demi and Luke had their first date. Luke T. asked Shanice to be his girlfriend. These two were really cute. I know Shanice definitely annoyed me at the beginning, but I warmed up to her a lot at the end.
Starting point is 01:43:20 And truly, any time, like, you would just hear her go, oh, 100%. It would make me laugh. Yeah, she was one of those people that... 100%. You learned to like after watching for a while because she was one of the first ones on the show. So it just felt comfortable and you just get to know her and get to like her.
Starting point is 01:43:39 Yes. Yep. Honestly, got like, she just said that she would start every sentence the same way. She was putting up with no shit. No, and she was. I really appreciated that. And those two really hit it off. They're super cute. After that, we had Natalia and Jamie and Calum and Molly sent home. they were voted the least compatible by the other islanders. I was kind of surprised by Calam and Molly, but I feel like at that point, just because of how great all the other couples were, like it was hard because at that point,
Starting point is 01:44:18 they were all in pretty good places, but everybody else was just like a little bit better. Yeah, and they also just had that kind of bad taste. They left a bad taste in people's mouths because of the whole Sean. a calum situation and although they you know they're still together now and things may be great between them it just it threw people off i think yeah definitely so then we had all of our last these are the last five couples they went on their final dates it was so cute i freaking
Starting point is 01:44:50 cried again watching page and fin and luke t and chenise's last dates because like page and Finn were so cute on that little island and they're talking about falling and Finn's like, I don't think I could be falling. And they're like just talking about falling in love and it was so sweet. And I always thought it was so funny that Paige like was so caught up on how old he was that Finley was younger than her when she's like not that much older than him. Like she's also still really young. Yeah, I think it's just the thought of having a guy younger than you that like freak some girls out.
Starting point is 01:45:28 Those two were so funny. I really loved them. If you didn't know, Paige used to date Lewis Capaldi. And that was a big topic of conversation. And it also seemed like Paige has been on her journey to get on a good reality TV show. I'm glad she got on the right one. She's a singer, which we didn't know until they had that talent show and started singing and it was beautiful. Right.
Starting point is 01:45:54 Everyone was like, what? She's such a good singer. And then it came out that I think she had been on. like some kind of singing competition show in the UK when she was younger and all this that and the other thing. But there, everybody's fallen in love. It's beautiful. Unfortunately, one other couple had to go home. Mike and Priscilla were the last ones to go before the finale, but they left boyfriend and girlfriend. So that was good. And then, um, I also love seeing everybody's parents. I know. That's always a great episode. It's kind of awkward, but like,
Starting point is 01:46:27 also the tear-joker. Yeah. Yeah, it's fun and also so uncomfortable because I just think about like meeting the parents of the boy that I like in like the skimpiest bathing suit that I have. That is such a good point, friend. I think about that every time I see that. Can they put on regular clothes to meet these people's parents? Right. I'm like, wait, you're seeing my butt cheeks and we're meeting for the first time. And it's not like, it's not like they don't have clothes. Like they could go and change. just still get changed. They must not be allowed to or something. Like there's no way that they're like,
Starting point is 01:47:02 I just can't imagine they all are choosing to meet these people in their No, no, no, no, no way. They're being told you staying your baby's shoes, people will arrive. Everybody's families were so, so cute. It was adorable to see Eve come back and surprise Jess and meet Ched, and it was very sweet. And then, you know, the finale, they get me every time. The last two episodes, I'm always crying because they make those proclamations to each other of, you know, their feelings.
Starting point is 01:47:35 And some couples are in love. Some are not. Some are, you know, just kind of finding their footing. But the couples that are in love are so cute. Yeah. And it's cute to see them kind of be nervous. And then when the girls get all dressed up, everyone's like guys get all happy and excited. Poetry.
Starting point is 01:47:55 and the things that these guys put together are so, so sweet. And then obviously we had to see who wins this thing. Chad and Jess came in fourth. Demi and Luke M. came in third. Luke T. and Shanice came in second. And Paige and Finley, where the Love Island season six winners, rightfully so.
Starting point is 01:48:15 I was so happy about this. I know. I had a feeling that they would be the winners. They were easily the most solid for the longest amount of time. And they're so cute. And I'm glad it's weird because I don't know how this is going to go for a lot of these couples just because we're in a weird situation right now. They're in the kind of situation we're all in where, you know, you're not supposed to be
Starting point is 01:48:42 outside. You're quarantined. Like a lot of these people live in different places and they're not at that point where they're going to be quarantined together. So you hope, I hope all these relationships. can make it out and you know they're still together by the end of this because as of right now it appears that almost all of these couples are still together all the couples from the finale Demi and Luke M are not boyfriend and girlfriend though still strange yeah Luke M did a
Starting point is 01:49:15 YouTube video like I asked me anything YouTube video and he said that they're like just dating taking it slow they're not boyfriend girlfriend yet Interesting. They weren't on the show, but I guess, and he talked about the fact that, like, they're quarantined in different places. Like, they can't see each other. That is tough. So they can't, like, everything's kind of on pause.
Starting point is 01:49:37 But everybody else is still together. And Luke T. and Janice, I think they're in lockdown together because they are producing some fire TikToks. I don't know if you've seen them, but those two can dance. I am not, but I'm not shocked because we saw that on the show. God, they're such good dancers. I haven't, like, clicked the follow on these people on, on Instagram yet. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:50:01 I don't know why. I just haven't. I followed the season five people immediately, but this reminded me to do it because as soon as we hang up, I'm probably going to go follow them all. Yeah. I, the only, so I went first place to third place. I followed Paige and Finn, Luke T, Luke M, Janice, Demi. But then even the couples that got sent home are apparently still together.
Starting point is 01:50:23 The only ones that I'm unsure about are Sophie and Connor. I doubt it. I doubt it as well. Like they were definitely seen out together. And like he posts, they post, I think he posted for Valentine's Day. But then,
Starting point is 01:50:37 I don't know, it doesn't seem like that ever. Maybe went past that point. Mike and Priscilla are definitely still together. Eva and Naz are still together. And Molly and Kalham are definitely still together. I was just looking at their Instagram. they were just on a bike ride together and looks like they're totally doing great.
Starting point is 01:50:58 And they're one of the couples that makes sense because they live in the same city. And you know what? I'll give props Somali and Callum. They're proven the haters wrong. People thought that Calum would leave and they're together. Yeah. In Manchester. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:51:11 You know, it works better. Yeah. It works better when they're in the same place. Definitely. Oh, 100%. Oh, 100%. 100%. 100%
Starting point is 01:51:21 Overall, I thought this season was really good. I did enjoy the season. Who knows one will get another season of Love Island because unfortunately things are just on hold all over the place. But if you haven't watched, go back and watch the earlier seasons. And like Fran said, watch Australia. I know. I'm into Australia right now, season two.
Starting point is 01:51:42 I'm trying to think of what else was... What else did Shanice say that there was like one other, she did the oh, there was, oh, the 100%, but there was something else that she said a billion times that I forget what it is. Oh, God, damn. That's, this is, this is going to drive me nuts. Isn't that sad? Yeah, I don't, I'm not going to remember.
Starting point is 01:52:16 I'm trying to look at this article and it's not giving me, it's not giving me all the fun things that she said. All right. Rats. I'm just going to remember the 100% people, just let me know. When you watch it, you'll remember the other things as she said. Honestly, I feel like she started everything with honestly girls, right? Yeah. Honestly, girls? And then go into what she wanted to say. She was definitely up there as one of my favorites. But I mean, how could you be Paige and Finn? It was really Yeah, I'm happy that they won. I was rooting for them the whole time. And it seemed like they were just pretty steady the whole time. Yeah, definitely.
Starting point is 01:53:02 We have a great interview with Jack McBryor coming up. Starting point is 01:55:26 to celebrate responsibly. Cheers. Thank you guys. Thank you guys so much. The world's most refreshing podcast. Yes. All right, everyone, we are here with a very special guest, Jack McBriar, who's a new audible original escape from Virtual Island is out now. We're going to talk about that, along with many other things, including drinking with the Jonas Brothers, which we're very excited to talk about. life in general, Jack. Welcome to the show. Thank you. Thank you for having me. How are you doing, Jack, during this crazy time? I'm doing okay. You know, it's just me, and so I'm doing okay. I like me, but I ventured out for the first time yesterday to go to the grocery store. And that was
Starting point is 01:56:12 that that was a bit more unnerving than I anticipated. It was a bit more stressful than I thought. and so it took me a while to curl up in the fetal position a little while and try to process the scope of all of this. Right. It's a day-by-day process. Definitely. Are you trying to, because right now I feel like a common theme is like everybody's trying to learn something new, but I kind of feel like we should also just relax at the same time. Do you think that you're picking up on any new skills?
Starting point is 01:56:44 I have a couple of little goals for myself. I know many of us went through the organization stage, and I have old cards and letters and stuff from even middle school. So because I really like things in order, I've been going back and scanning those and then organizing them. So then, you know, now I have them and then I can get rid of them if I need to, not that I do. And there's a song that I want to try to learn on the piano. I mean, just like one song that, you know, I've got time to plunk it out. But in general, I think it is a good opportunity if you have the luxury to take some time, doing some introspection and figuring out what is important to me. What around here do I need? What really
Starting point is 01:57:29 matters here? And what is a little more disposable? What can I do without more? Right. Right. That's very true. Especially, I know, I don't know how I would be if I was completely by myself. it's a crazy time. Are you watching a lot of TV or listening to anything? I try to be productive in the daytime and then I call myself TV at night. Okay. Anything you're really enjoying right now? Well, I was on the Tiger King train, of course.
Starting point is 01:58:04 Okay. I like horror movies. And so sometimes I'll watch a horror movie before I go to bed. And this one, I'm not, it's a little bit embarrassing but I'm going back and watching old episodes of 30 Rock just because I've seen them
Starting point is 01:58:20 I haven't asked about that and I think enough distance enough time and distance has passed where it's not super weird and also you know you can just watch it a little more objectively because I kind of forgot what storylines are and like ooh they cut that scene
Starting point is 01:58:36 so now it is fun to just watch see what holds up see what's a little dated what's you know what we can't say anymore. And it's been fun. And it's just, you've seen old friends. Have you seen most of the episodes, or is this kind of the first time you're going back and rewatching it?
Starting point is 01:58:53 I'm pretty sure I had seen, if not every episode, almost every episode, because we would show the episode at lunch during the week that it was going to air. So it has been, you know, God, when did that show go off? 2013 is when it ended. So it's been about seven years.
Starting point is 01:59:14 Every now and then you'll be on a flight. Oh, remember flights. Yeah. Yeah. Remember flying? Remember restaurants? It honestly keeps me out even thinking that I was on an airplane once in my life. Like, I can't believe I was there.
Starting point is 01:59:29 Bananas. This is bonkers town. Yeah. Yeah, it is. I do got to say, like working for audible and doing press for the podcast right now, I this is extraordinary to be you know talking to y'all from across the country on a computer screen but I like it you know at least I get to see human beings and interact because otherwise thankfully yeah exactly I mean thankfully there are thankfully there are ways for everyone to stay
Starting point is 02:00:00 stay together keep communicating this is definitely one of them we're super excited to hear about escape from virtual island um I listened to some of it I was very very very entertained. It's out now for those who want to listen to it. How did you get involved with this project? I know John Lutz from decades ago doing improv in Chicago at Second City Improv Olympic. John Lutz is the writer of this podcast. You would recognize them from episodes of 30 Rock. He played Lutz, the writer. S&L, writer for Seth Myers, immensely talented and just fun and funny guy. And so when he was writing this script for Audible. I do think he had me in mind for the role of Beasley.
Starting point is 02:00:45 But it was, it's always easy to say yes to projects when you're working with people that you know and love and have a history with. It's easy. It's fun. Yeah. And podcasts are such a big thing right now. And I feel like this definitely is something that's keeping people entertained at a time like this. It came out at such a perfect time, honestly. But I, I've never really, I've never really, heard of like a series like this in a podcast though like I find it very interesting the idea and I think it's such a smart idea because I feel like sometimes um would you agree like we need a break from a screen and just listening and following along is just very interesting I agree I mean if you think about it really does harken back to the days of radio plays before TV was even a thing where you'd have serialized episodes if you will um that people would just listen to I am curious to see what people's reception is to this podcast because even though it is narrative, it's very much like a movie script that you're just listening to, I'm wondering how easy it is for people to listen to it while they're going about their day to day. Or do they just need to
Starting point is 02:01:52 sit tight and listen to it? You know, like, what can you be doing while listening to this particular podcast? Right. I know right now, when I listen to part of it, I haven't listened to all of it, but because of kind of escaping and getting away. I've been the times I spend outside where maybe I go take a walk around the block a few times. That's when I love listening to things like this because you're outside,
Starting point is 02:02:19 you're getting fresh air, but also you're hearing this very fun story. Why don't you kind of explain the background, the story behind Escape from Virtual Island, what your character's role is? I play Beasley. I am a concierge, an assistant
Starting point is 02:02:35 to this theme park, essentially, a virtual reality theme park owned by Paul Rudd's character, who's a billionaire. Amber Ruffin plays the tech person, and Paula Pell plays security. This virtual reality world, we have a human being who goes in and gets lost in there, and so all of us colleagues have to go into the world to try to find our customer. And so we get to bounce from world to world, and hilarity ensues. Now, did you guys...
Starting point is 02:03:11 Then to find out. Yeah, yeah, exactly. Did you guys record this all together? Did you get Beasley's parts and you just had to do it all on your own? We did do it separately. I think in general doing a lot of the voiceover jobs that I do, I think it's just easier for editing and even maybe like time efficiency to do it separately. But I know that some projects put people all together at once.
Starting point is 02:03:37 And so there's benefits to both. I think it's fun when you're playing off of other people, for sure. But in this case, we did do it all several. Good news is I had worked with all the other cast members in various other projects before. So I was excited to say yes to it just for that reason alone. Have you guys all, well, I mean, I feel like this is a stupid question because you obviously can't be together now. But have you met up as a past before this has happened? No. No, we hadn't.
Starting point is 02:04:06 That's fun. I feel like most of these people you know. Yeah, I mean, it is, especially in voice work, a lot of times you don't meet when we did Regat-Ralph. You don't, I didn't realize all these other famous people were in the movies until the premiere. I was like, oh, hello. That's amazing, honestly, because I want to know what the hardest part about doing voiceover work first, the easy. part about it. Because it's so different than actually being on screen. Well, I think actually that is one of the things. A challenge for me is to just be putting a voice
Starting point is 02:04:50 out into the void, essentially. When you're doing a scene with Tina Faye, Tracy Morgan, Alec, Alec Baldwin, whoever it is, you're bouncing off of their energy, their delivery. You're finding a rhythm with them in that moment. Whereas when you're recording a recording of voice, you're just putting it out there and then trusting the director and the editors to stitch it all together to make sense and to fit. The easy part, of course, is, I mean, I look like this. Another thing is that because John Lutz really did kind of tailor fit this to me, this is what I sound like.
Starting point is 02:05:30 This is the voice that Hugh was hoping for, which was good for me, because there ain't much more. exactly i mean i think it's it's uh when you kind of have something taylor made with you in mind it's great and obviously like you said even though you have no idea uh who all these people are that are going to be on the project when it's all said and done it's awesome because you see this list of names and it's and it's fantastic and i feel like it is a lot of people you have um worked with in the past too so it's kind of cool thing that you guys all got to do this together, but separately. Yeah, have you, have you listened to the whole thing? I'm curious as to your preparation process. Like, do you read
Starting point is 02:06:20 the whole thing and learn about all the other characters so that you can work on your character, or do you just kind of like say, okay, I'm Beasley, I'll just read my parts? Well, in general, I do like to read the script for any direct before you go in to start performing, or even even like in 30, right, when we get a script for a table read, I do like to read the whole thing just to have an understanding of what this entire thing is. So I did read the entire script for Escape from Virtual Island, but because it's a lot of talking, they split it up over, you know, three days of being in the studio. So on the day, you really are just reading your lines. and because I did have a very basic understanding of it,
Starting point is 02:07:07 it was easy to just jump back in there. And also, when somebody write something specifically for you, lean into it. Yeah, this is me, y'all. Yeah. To be underwhelmed. So like Fran mentioned, you've obviously worked with this cast before, and you mentioned doing voiceover work
Starting point is 02:07:29 and just working with other actors in general, you have a riff with that person like Tina Faye or whoever it is. What would you say? Now, obviously, you like them all, but your favorite cast that has been to like a riff off of? Oh, that's a good question. Well, I will say a qualifier here is that in 30 Rock, there wasn't a great deal of improvisation.
Starting point is 02:07:54 It's always fun to do scenes with any of those cast members, but because, you know, a half-hour sitcom is like down to the second of 22 and a half minutes or whatever we got. So there wasn't a great deal of riffing or improvising during that. The voiceover stuff, wreck it Ralph, a lot of the cartoons that I'm able to work on, like the Disney series, there's one called Amphibia. They'll do it a few times as it's scripted, and then they're like, okay, now I'll do something else. And I'm like, okay. Do you get nervous still or do you like doing that? Oh, I love it.
Starting point is 02:08:33 I mean, my background is in improvisation. So I relish the opportunity. Yeah. And forgetting Sarah Marshall was very much like that as well. That is one of my favorite movies. The amount of times I have watched that movie. Oh, so many. That was good.
Starting point is 02:08:49 That was an example of saying yes to a project, not really know what you were getting into, but loving every minute. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I don't care if nobody else likes this. And blast. And people love it.
Starting point is 02:09:04 I mean, there was a time of my life where I literally watched that movie every night. I'm not playing with you. Like, I just thought it was the funniest thing I've ever seen. It's one of those movies. It's one of those movies that like when you see it's on TV, you're like, up, there goes the rest of my night. Like, you have to turn it on. No matter what, it's has stood the test of time.
Starting point is 02:09:23 You know, that was a Judd Al. Apatow film and I think pretty traditionally he'll let you do it, you know, a couple times as it is scripted and then you just go nuts. And when you got, you know, Paul Rudd, Jona, Hill, Russell Brand, yeah, Jason, Segal, like everybody in there. It was just so fun. It was so fun. Yeah, and I think that was one, um, uh, Milakuna's like we saw her in that 70s show, but I feel like that was like her breakout role kind of like in movies. I think so. I mean, like, plus she is so funny. She is cool and she is funny and she is kind.
Starting point is 02:10:00 It was a great experience. Yeah, yeah. It sounds like it. I mean, and it's so, it's great to hear you have so much on making the movie and then everybody absolutely adores the movie when it comes out. Yeah. Which is great. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:10:15 Now, so we talked about this a little bit before, but with 30 Rock, I don't know if you saw this, but Vulture released an article. I want to say maybe last week, where they had asked a bunch of showrunners and writers from hundreds of different sitcoms, how they would think their show would be right now if the coronavirus was a part of their world, of their show. And Tina Faye and Sam Means kind of wrote a little thing for 30 Rock if this was going on. Did you see it? Yes, it was forwarded to me. What did you think?
Starting point is 02:10:51 Also, I was just like, oh yeah, I could totally see myself saying this. No, the lines fit perfectly. I know. Yeah, they know me well. You know what's so funny is Tina Faye used the whole, you'll see several episodes where Kenneth Page is eating chickpeas out of a can with a plastic spoon. Because when I first moved to New York, that was all I could afford. And I like chickpeas.
Starting point is 02:11:17 So I'll just be kidding. She's like, this is some hobo nonsense. Right. And of course, like Tina is just, they're still on top of their game or they're like, you know, Jack would be paying millions for Kenneth's chickpeas. And so they, it's, it was very, very entertaining to read. They did a ton for a bunch of different shows. But it made me really, I'm not going to lie, I miss 30 Rock a lot. I have watched it, right? I've watched it back from front to end a couple times. And every time it. it gets funnier and funnier. What are some of your, like, fondest memories from working on that show? It is funny because as I'm re-watching old episodes, I will go back and then take a picture
Starting point is 02:12:06 or a video of whatever I'm sending back. And it won't make sense to anybody else in the world, but for the people who were there, there was a line that Tracy Morgan said. The line was colorful sweaters. And just the way he said it, we were all dying laughing. Most of it is just remembering all the bloopers,
Starting point is 02:12:25 remembering like we did not get that. Remembering like we did this whole scene where the entire crew had food poisoning. And so we were like fake vomiting. We had like rigs where like pea soup was coming out. And this whole thing. And it was gross and it took up a great deal of time. And they did not use that scene.
Starting point is 02:12:49 Is it anywhere we found? I've never seen it, but I mean, I have it up here. And it was one of those things where we eventually changed this. It was, I'm about to gag just thinking about it. But to me have fake vomit, they gave me like watered down clam. Oh boy. Yeah. I know what you're going to say, like watered down clam chatter.
Starting point is 02:13:18 Wow. You had to hold it in your mouth until it's time to throw up. Okay, yeah, I got it. You have to hold it in your mouth. But then they changed it, and so then they, it would be like a smoothie with like chunks of brownie and like frosted flakes and stuff in it. Which, so I mean, like, so I'd just be sitting there, go, go, go. God, gosh, just turns into all of us throwing up. This is the deleted scene.
Starting point is 02:13:45 Oh, my God. Oh, yeah, we eventually got there. So yes, it is fun to take a trip down memory lane and then like reaching out to some of the old castmates going, do you remember this? Do you remember that? It was fun. Do you like when you watch something, do you text one of them or just to be like, hey, you remember this? Yeah, always, always. Katrina Bowden played a character named Surrey and Katrina Bowden, I mean, it's over now. was 17 when we started the show. Yeah. One scene in season one where
Starting point is 02:14:21 Surrey is dirty dancing with Kenneth. I was like, this is highly illegal. Yeah. Yeah, it's so crazy, like, looking back on certain shows, just being like, imagine. Just imagine if this was now. I know. It's bonkers.
Starting point is 02:14:40 It is great. Now, when you guys, wrapped, did you take anything of Kennets to keep? I got a page uniform. Yeah. We're wearing that at the opening of some Walmart someday. Yeah. Turning the penises.
Starting point is 02:15:00 That's all you kept? Or were you not allowed to take anything? I mean, what else would I had taken, you know? Yeah, I guess that's true. I just always feel like sometimes people will grab a prop here or there. But I guess Kenneth's biggest prop was his uniform. So it does make sense. Seven years.
Starting point is 02:15:19 Yep. Something else that we absolutely love that you did, and we talked about this in the beginning, day drinking with Seth Myers and the Jonas Bothers. Not to brag, but it's something that we may have done with the Jonas Bothers before. It's our proudest accomplishment.
Starting point is 02:15:38 Yes. They have been on this show. And you all right? Yeah, we did a flight brewery tour with them, and then we had them on our show after. So we drank with them, and then we interviewed them. And then we saw your day drinking, and we were like, wow, that seemed like a lot of fun. It was. I mean, it was drinking.
Starting point is 02:15:59 And then we're drinking brothers. I was like, I win, I win. So does, for something like that where you were like the third Myers brother as a joke, Does Seth just call you and say, hey, we need you for this situation. Can you be here? That's exactly what happened. I think. I love that.
Starting point is 02:16:21 I got the text on a Monday saying, this is going to sound crazy. Will you fly to New York and drink with me and Josh and the journalist brothers? I was like, yep. Next question. I'm like, yeah. Can I admit something stupid when it came out? Oh, true. I remember this.
Starting point is 02:16:44 Maybe I was drunk, who knows. But I saw this and I was like, is Seth Myers real last name, McBriar? And then he changed it to Myers to be different. And it was just like a slight, you know, when you just have like a, like when you say a word, it just sounds different to you. It was just one of those split second things
Starting point is 02:17:04 where I was like, wait a second. I was like, no, no, no, no. No, not actually related, Ria, stop it. ERISE theory. Yeah. I mean, it looks wise, you guys all fit right in. Like, it's, it's, you all. White dudes.
Starting point is 02:17:20 Yeah. You all look pretty similar. And I would say that the whole segment was super entertaining. My favorite part was the songs you guys made up at the end. How, how drunk were you? Because it seemed like there was some real drinking going on. It was real drinking. And so the thing is, I didn't know how long this was going to go.
Starting point is 02:17:40 So I was pacing myself at first. but then I saw how drunk everybody else was getting. I'm like, oh, I got to catch up. But then also, like, the human body can only take so much. So people are like chugging beers. I was like, oh, y'all. Spoiler alert. I ain't in college anymore.
Starting point is 02:17:54 It was hard. Also, I didn't realize there'd be so much mixing. And not just like, you know, I thought we might do a shot in beer and stuff. But, like, just mixing any sort of alcohol together was gross. There was one that was like a real old whiskey and then like, Alka-Seltzer. And I was like, absolutely not. No, no. I'm on for this. Hard pass. No, that's gross. Seths McIrars. Did you have a favorite Jonas brother?
Starting point is 02:18:24 How dare you, madam? It's an impossible question. It is an impossible question, but you have to ask. I really intrigued. I met them all in, this is going to sound weird, but everybody asked, like, how do you know the Jonas Brothers. I met them in 2009. Alex on Saturday Night Live. The Jonas Brothers were the musical guest. And I was joining Alec. He asked me to do a cameo on S&L, which of course I was going to say yes. What a huge honor. And so then I got to meet these children. And so I met them then.
Starting point is 02:19:02 And then, you know, however many years later, your paths just cross again. And, yeah, Oh, and then Nick started doing TV shows with some neighbors of mine. I'm friends and neighbors with actors Cored Overstreet, Glenn Powell. And so whenever they met tonight, then I would go over and then Nick would be there. And so then we reconnected. So that's how I got invited to that wedding. Yeah. Oh, you were there?
Starting point is 02:19:32 Oh, I was there. And it was awesome. Oh, man. Wow, I didn't realize that. Jack. I know. That's fantastic. Give us something that won't hurt the Jonas Bellers if you tell us, but that's like a little...
Starting point is 02:19:46 About just in general? About the wedding. Oh, about the wedding? I stayed in a palace. Yeah. Awesome. It was one of the most beautiful, decadent weddings. Also, I've never been to an Indian wedding before.
Starting point is 02:20:06 If you ever get invited to an Indian wedding, say yes. Yeah. Yes, it is beautiful and colorful and musical and joyful. It was just really an experience. And so, of course, this one was just like off the charts. And it lasts a week and you're tired all the time. But it was so much fun. And like they give you like little, you know, gifts at the end of the day.
Starting point is 02:20:31 So you go back into your room and while you've been out at your event, you'll come to find like a little pile of gifts on your bed. like a picture frame a scarf you know whatever and like because you're there for so long one of the gifts is a piece of luggage to take back all of your gifts all the gifts wow that's genius that is awesome I cannot say enough about how much fun that wedding was it was nothing less from a joke at a wedding yeah it was nuts if you ever get invited to a Jonas Brother Wedding, say yes. We've already ran out, but if we have the opportunity, I definitely...
Starting point is 02:21:13 Frankie, Frankie, Jonas. That's true. That's true. Frankie, there is a fourth Jonas. How dare, that was so bad. How could I possibly forget? This must be the answer. Oh, my God, unbelievable.
Starting point is 02:21:26 Well, it really looked like that is amazing. We love that segment so much. We thought that was so funny. And Jack, we're so thankful that you were able to hop on and talk with us. and I'm so excited to listen to the rest of Escape from Virtual Island. Everybody else can listen to it.
