Fran, how are you doing on this lovely Sunday afternoon? I am doing great. We are, it's so crazy that it's like, I mean, it's, it's summer. I know that it feels weird because time has kind of like stood still, but it is, it's almost Memorial Day weekend. It's crazy. People are obviously getting outside. If you are getting inside, just, you know, do it safely and follow the rules. This weekend, I actually got to see your beautiful face from afar. Ria came out to Long Island and just drove by.

Just a little dry by, a good wave, a little chat from the appropriate distance. It sucks because it's so nice. It was so nice to see you, but also like, you just, I just want to hug you. Just want to touch you. Hey, right? I felt the same way. I was like, well, like, it's awkward. Like, it feels like you're talking to somebody that you're not, like, really friends with. Exactly. I felt like strangers. Yes. It's weird because, and even, like, and even on the beach, because, you know, if you're seeing people on the beach, the town I'm in is a beach town. And everybody's, like, you know, doing what they're told and staying apart. But if you're saying hi to somebody who is far away from you. And if you're, like, a good friend with them, you're, you're friends with them, you're.

like, well, this is just really weird. Because I would normally hug you or say something. It feels like you're talking to somebody you don't really know because that physical touch isn't there. You kind of don't realize how big that is. Right. And you don't know what the proper thing to do is like a wave, just stand there, keep your arms at your side because you're not going to handshake, you're not going to hug.

It's very awkward, the whole thing. I saw something funny, though, that said this quarantine, has lasted longer than Kim Kardashian and Chris Humphrey's relationship, which is very true. It's been like 78 days or more, and that's longer than the 72 days they were married, right? That is insane. Yeah, 72. Yeah, that is crazy. I mean, it's, it's tough. Like, like I said, now, and a lot of states are opening up. We're seeing a lot of that. So we'll see what happens, but it was very nice to just see your face from afar for a, for, for a lot of, for, for a lot of, brief moment.

Francesca, I will say, a star passing in the day. And it made me upset in the inside to not hug you as well. I know, right? It's such a weird, really weird feeling. But hopefully we'll get to that day sometime soon where that's allowed.

Will it be soon though? Like we say soon. I don't know. You can only hope. That's all I'm saying. Like, I hope so. I don't know. Because we're getting a lot.

of mixed messages from the leaders of this country. So I don't really know what to say. It could be soon. It could not be soon. But I hope that it's soon. I agree. And I think that I'm just going to stay inside no matter what, just to be safe. Except I have gone for some walks because I realize people were a little worried about me. I saw people DMing me like, wow, Ria, you left the house and other things of that sort. And I would like to say, I did to go on some walks just around the neighborhood. I even stopped and smiled the flowers. That was nice. It's amazing. It's beautiful. It felt strange and beautiful at the same time, looked up at the sky, really soaked it all in. Yeah. There was pictures from a park in Brooklyn this weekend where they literally drew circles

on the grass or turf, whatever it is in the park. And people could, everybody, you know, was in their own circle and you can't can't get close to each other. I know it looks bizarre and it looks crazy, but it kind of seems like it's a good idea for a way to get people outside, but then keep people physically away from each other. Everybody gets their own designated space. Yeah, that's how it's going to be in New York. Like I said, other states are opening up and things are, you know, people are way more, are out doing things and it's just not that way where we are. It's strange times. It's strange times. But to bring up something positive, we are now two days away. It'll be one day when this airs from our one month anniversary of when I tweeted that I would die

for John B. So that means it's our one month anniversary with Outer Banks and I just want to give it the proper recognition that it deserves. Katie Perry clears up rumors about a Taylor Swift collaboration on her album. Cara DeLivine defends Ashley Benson after she was seen kissing G. Easy. That means Ashley Benson was seen kissing G. Easy. I'm disgusting. Justin Bieber says he wishes he saved himself for marriage. Hannah Brown said the N-word on her Instagram live. Megan Fotz was seen hanging out with Machine Gun Kelly. And of course, we have our

feel-good segment. And we have interviews with Sidney Sweeney and Jamie Lynn Spears. So let's get into it. Starting off with Katie Perry. You should know what you're falling for. Baby, do you're dead? It's the damn bad. So as we all thought last week, Katie Perry and Taylor Swift might be collaborating. Katie Perry posted the artwork for her song,

Daisies, and Taylor Swift posted a picture wearing a sweater with daisies on it. And everybody knows that Taylor Swift likes to leave little hints as well as Katie Perry. Even American Idol tweeted that people would be listening to this song, 1,989 times, which would equal 1989, which is Taylor Swift's album, but turns out there is no collaboration and we all look stupid. Yeah, so we were just really wrong. Like we were super convinced.

I think by the time we finished talking about it last week, Ria, we were absolutely in on that, you know, this was happening. But Katie went on, hits Radio Breakfast last week, and they asked her about it and she said, no, it's not correct, but the fans are definitely excited for something like that to happen in the future and I'm always open. And then she was asked if Taylor could possibly appear

on Perry's upcoming album and she said, no, not as yet. And then she said, I mean, the fans are so fun. They do search far and wide for Easter eggs and we do put them in our visuals and in lyric videos and music videos and content that we created, but not everything is an Easter egg. Some things are just flowers.

So... No collaboration. I just want to know what is wrong with American Idol. They're the only person I'm mad at in this situation because they just leaned into it tweeting the 1989 thing. Why would they tweet that if there was no collaboration? They work with Katie Perry. So it's like they were just teasing everybody even though there was nothing. I don't think Taylor Swift or Katie Perry will ever work together. Okay. Let's be real. They had a feud just because they made up. What do you mean? She was in Taylor Swift's music. video. They've already worked

together. Besides that, I mean to make a song. Oh, okay. It pops up in her music video, but they didn't make a song together. Yeah. I just don't see that ever happening. I don't think that just because they made up means they have to go and make songs together now. No, you're right. It definitely doesn't

mean that they have to. It would blow up, though, if they did. And I'm thinking maybe just whoever's running the American Idol Twitter account, they thought they were being sneaky. and funny and they were just going to drop that in there. And I also think it was, maybe it was because,

I probably should have thought of this before, but I think American Idol, maybe it's the finale, I don't know, I haven't been watching, but I think maybe the American Idol's, American Idol's on Sunday nights. And so they were talking about Katie Perry and her new song and American Idol Sunday nights, and then Taylor Swift has her,

concert video or a show that's going to be on ABC after American Idol, which is on tonight. So not Monday night, tonight. We're recording on Sunday. So maybe it was just like a mentioning that because Taylor Swift was going to be on after the American Idol episode. I don't know. Bad joke. It was just, it was just me.

It just really led us down a path where we thought this was happening. and it's not. And it didn't seem like Katie Perry was really fighting for that to be something that happens. That's what I'm saying. That's why I brought up the point where I don't think they have to make a song together because they could be civil and, you know, like each other in the public eye. But that doesn't mean they're going to want to start making songs together. Then they're going to have to perform together.

And what if they win awards from that song? Then they're going to have to be award shows together. The list goes on and on if they start collaborating. Right. Some things are just flowers. I guess we just got to learn that. It's a new saying. Yeah.

I'm like, fuck you and I fuck her too. Just days after she said, and that's some shit, and although that's a praise in my chest,

I still wish you the best. Just days after Cara Delavine and Ashley Benson split went public, Ashley Benson was seen out with G.Easy. The pictures are blurry, but some pictures that looks like they're kissing. They're out and about. Who knows it has me pissed off because everyone knows I hate GEZ. I don't think he's a great guy. And for some reason, all these girls go to him.

But Cara Delavine seemed. to be okay with it. Yeah, this is kind of a weird situation and obviously I think it's one of those where there's probably so much more going on than we all actually know. Kara posted on her Instagram story

last week saying, it's more important now than ever to spread love, not hate, to everyone hating on Ashley Benson, please stop. You don't know the truth, only her and I do, and that's exactly how it should be. So, Ashley Benson has just gone to G.EZ for comfort, I guess. This is her, the guy that she goes to, which, like you said, unfortunate. Why can't it be anybody else? And I get, anybody else. I get people asking us sometimes, what is it about G.E.Z

that you don't like? Why don't you like G.E.I. I just have not heard great things about G.E.C. Truthfully, I've had, I've had girls DME stories about G.E. that are just extremely sketchy, make him seem like not a great person whatsoever. Also, you know, if you're a fan of Halsey, I'm a fan of Halsey, and from her music and from things she said, it doesn't seem like GEZ treated her the right way either. So I'm just not a fan of this guy. I think he's stevie. There's a video of him and Meg the Stallion where he is like trying to kiss her and she's

clearly blocking him away and he's still going for it. I just think he's a sketchy guy. Yeah. sketchball, for sure. I think that's super fair. And so obviously, like you said, wish it was anybody else. And I think it's kind of unfair.

It seems like a lot of fans were coming for Ashley because of the timing. Maybe also thinking that Ashley was cheating on Kara. And I don't think that's true. But, you know, the rumors, people see Ashley and G.Easy so soon after the breakup went public and they're thinking crazy things and, Now it's like some love triangle situation when, honestly, Ashley and Cara probably split,

and now she is just spending time with G. Easy. I don't, I guess that's the comfort she's looking for right now. And I'm sure our breakups are extremely hard. We all know that. So I'm sure it's not easy for her to just break up a Cara Delavine and then go be by herself. I'm sure she wants some comfort. But G.E.E.E.E. out of all people, I guess it's not my place, but I would pick somebody else.

Literally, anybody else. Anybody else. I don't want to. I don't know. I will say, now we can, you can tell me you don't want to mention this, but last week, you said that if you and GEZ were the last two people on planet Earth, humanity would die out because you would not procreate with that man. Francesca, that is something I said to you in private, but I'm fine with you bringing it to the public.

That is something I said. I will own up to it. I feel pretty strongly about that. I do not think I would fornicate with G.E.Z if it was just us to on this earth. Yeah. I'm, I wouldn't want to. I don't like him. I would be like, why?

Why are you making me do this? Is there any other option? No. Humanity dies out. I am the reason. Well, you know what? I don't want the people running around the earth to have all of G.EZ's genes.

They should have fine. I'm great. G. Easy, though? Yeah. Yeah. Think about that. There's a bunch of G.EZs mixed with Ria's running around. That does not sound like a good combination.

So Justin Bieber and Haley have their new Facebook show. Neither of us have watched. Have you watched? No, because I don't have Facebook. I haven't watched it. I can't get back onto Facebook. Yeah. I use Kelly Kee's account sometimes, though, hand up. That's nice.

To watch Real Bros of Seamy Valley. Yeah, I mean, there are some great things on Facebook Watch. And so I would say, although this is the thing. Now, I'm not knocking Justin's YouTube doc. I think it was great that he was. He did that and he was open and honest with his feelings, which is great because he, I love, you know, it's nice when celebrities are transparent. I felt like he was very transparent in that doc in the, in the docu series, but like the docu series wasn't spectacular. Like it. And, you know, in my opinion. And I think I was just annoyed with the format. I didn't like the really short, like 10 minute episodes. I wish it was just one movie and maybe my feelings would have been different.

But now he's got this situation with Haley. We haven't been watched. But obviously headlines all this week were from an episode where Justin said they were talking about past relationships and whatnot. And he said that he wishes, looking back now, he wishes that he had saved himself for marriage because physical contact and physical relationships get complicated. and he thinks he probably would have saved himself and other people a lot of trouble if he had just waited, which is probably true about every single person on human earth. Right.

And then Haley said that she doesn't necessarily agree. And I think people are taking this the wrong way. I think that some people took it as she's saying she doesn't agree with Bieber saving himself for marriage. I think she was saying to herself. Like she doesn't, she doesn't have any regrets about having sex before marriage and she doesn't wish she saved herself,

which that's how I'm taking it. And I 100% agree with her and respect her stance on that. And I love that she said that to Justin Bieber's face. Because truthfully, Justin Bieber saying this, he's only saying it because he feels extremely bad about all the sex he had. If he didn't have that much sex, he probably wouldn't be saying,

I wish I saved myself for marriage. So it's, in my opinion, he's saying this because of the things he did, but if he never did those things, he would never feel that way. It's kind of a back and forth. You can't really win in the situation. You just have to be like, yeah, I mean, I had a lot of sex, but now I'm married and I love Haley and I'm just going to respect her. Exactly.

You just got to own it. And I think he thought that, like, the idea of that is nice, but the reality of it is just, There is no reality to that. That's not a possible thing. And for Justin Bieber. And he, I don't know, I also think because, like you said, basically, you know, what you were saying, Ria, that he, I think, has so much regret for some of those things that he was doing when he was younger. And probably a lot of those had to do with sex, too. And now he truly seems so happy as a married man and loves being married and loves Haley and, like, just love.

the life that he has now, he probably just looks back and is like, wow, I really did reckless shit. I wish I didn't do that. Exactly. But I also think, and I'm not Justin Bieber, so I can't get on his past. But yeah, I think he would have never gotten to this place with Haley if he didn't go through the things he did because he still would be wondering what all the other girls were about, what was Selena about while he's with Haley. That is exactly why he didn't stay with Haley in 2015, because he left her for other girls. So he had to see that there wasn't anything else out there that made him as happy as Haley.

Totally. And it goes back to real life. Like, what do you, like, when you're talking to your friends about boys and, you know, dating boys, everything, I'm always telling my friends, like, you got to try out. You know, you've got to try before you buy. 100%. Like, you've got to try before you buy. And also, just.

like, you know, with other people and new, I'm explaining this poorly, but I'm just saying, like, it makes sense that Justin during that time was hooking up with a lot of people. That's just what young kids do, whether you're a celebrity or not. Right. In my personal opinion, you should do that. Yes. And then if you don't do it, and then you get married too young, and then you're stuck in a marriage, and then you're wondering what everyone else was about. Right. Because you never even try. That's like when I, when I,

unless you're madly in love because I have friends that are mad, have been madly in love since like eighth grade and I would be heartbroken if something happens. I was going to bring that up. Like if you started dating somebody in seventh grade and then you marry that person, props to you. Good for you. That is some strong willpower.

Exactly. So good for you. Not for me. Would have never done that. But I'm happy for the people that did. Exactly. And that's what I'm thinking, like, Justin is so happy in his life now that he's like, wow, maybe I could have just had this this whole time if I had not done what I had done. But I agree with you. I think he had to go through all that stuff to get to the point where he is so happy with Haley. Exactly. Baby tell me how did you get so All right guys

So this is obviously a bit of a sensitive subject And Ria and I don't love talking about these things Because it's tough and it's a real it's hard real life stuff And Hannah Brown is getting some backlash Because she went on Instagram Live Saturday night And she was singing a song It was rock stared baby and she said the N-word out loud on the Instagram live.

People obviously noticed right away. And she went to look at the comments, saw people saying, hey, you just said something you shouldn't have said. And it was a weird apology where she was like, did I say it? I don't think I said it and went back and forth for a while. They tried to blame her friend. The friend tried to blame other people. She tried to blame her brother.

it was very uncomfortable and it's you just got to know better you just got to know better. It's extremely uncomfortable, unfortunate situation for everyone out there who is listening to this

and watching her do this and then all of a sudden she just acts like she didn't say it and then she starts blaming other people and they mentioned two other people so now not only does Hannah look bad She's also making other people who didn't say it look bad because she's saying they might have said it. So now you're just acting like you're all comfortable with it.

So the whole apology was absolutely terrible. Her saying it in the first place is inexcusable. And now she went on her Instagram and posted not a notes, not a notes app, but she posted a story with another apology because like we said, if you first apology was bad and you watch the video. and you watch the apology. She just seems extremely ignorant because when people are saying,

hey, Hannah, you said that. She's like, what? I didn't say it? No, I didn't say it. And then she's like, whatever you guys think I said. When she said it. On her Instagram story, she posted,

I owe you all a major apology. There is no excuse, and I will not justify what I said. I have read your messages and seen the hurt I have caused. I own it all. I am terribly sorry and know that whether in public or private,

this language is unacceptable. I promise to do it better. So either way, the situation is not good. But I think Hannah saying she owns it all is a step in the right direction because you get there and make excuses and say, oh, it was just a song. Oh, I didn't know you guys heard me. Oh, I was drunk because none of those excuses are going to justify what had happened. Yeah, I'm with you.

And what's also crazy is that we're still in this like, it was a song. she's just singing lyrics like that defense just doesn't work anymore you can't you can't say that and as like as a white person you cannot say like oh I'm just singing the song lyrics like that's how they are you still don't have the right to say it so you just you just can't do it um and it's crazy because obviously like anytime you look at comments anywhere they're horrible it doesn't matter where they are instagram twitter it's insane so like you know e-news had posted this as an Instagram post and the comments were just like absolutely infuriating. There was somebody who actually commented, she was legit singing a song.

Don't artists want people singing their music? Sounds like a double standard to me. Okay, Katie. Like, who is? Let me zoom. Yep, a white woman. Because, yeah, you just can't do it. Like, you can't, you can't say it.

I know. I also hate bringing any attention to these comments anyway. I don't even think they deserve the recognition because they're just being uneducated, they're trolls. It's also, besides this post, any time I click on the e-news comments, it's always exactly the opposite of what I'm thinking in my head. And I'm like, where do these people come from? It's crazy every single time.

But especially this time. And hopefully Hannah Brown just learns from her actions. And I mean, only time will tell. if she educates herself, you know what I mean? There's no, there's nothing to justify the situation. Totally. It has to stop happening. Celebraries have to stop doing it.

And hopefully, like you said, she learns from this experience and knows not to, I mean, obviously she should know not to do something like that. And don't blame other people next time. Yeah, yeah. Don't just throw random people in the mix. Yeah. For no reason. She proper panicked. She botched that.

Yeah, very badly. For sure. The simulation just went bad, but you're the best I ever had. Like hair, prison, west on net. She touched me as permanent. Machine gun, Kelly is at it again with another woman that goes by the name of Megan Fox, the one, the only, the main. Megan Fox is now hanging out with MGK.

This screams Kate Beck and Sale and Pete Davidson. Yeah, it absolutely does. And obviously Megan Fox, it seems like she and Brian Austin Green, her husband, have been having some problems. They have been spotted each of them without wearing their wedding rings. And now it appears Megan has been hanging out with Machine Gun Kelly. Apparently they were supposed to be in a movie together that had started to film in like the beginning of March and then it stopped,

I think, or maybe they had not started at all. So they had met each other that way. And, you know, obviously things have continued. And maybe it's just a couple of co-stars meeting up. Maybe it's not. But Brian Austin Green also posted on his Instagram story, a picture of a butterfly. And or maybe it was a, it might have been a full Instagram.

And a picture of a butterfly. And he wrote, eventually butterflies get bored sitting on a flower for too long. They start feeling smothered. It's a great big world and they want to experience it. So a lot of people are thinking that maybe Megan Fox is that butterfly. You know what? If I had to describe Megan Foxes any type of animal, I would say a butterfly or insect, one might say. Yeah. She's just a beautiful creature. Yeah, she is a beautiful creature. She definitely is. And Machine Gun Kelly seems like a very cool guy. He was just recently on KFC Radio. It was a funny interview. And it's just one of those things like Megan Fox, Machine Gun Kelly. Sure. I'm not phased by any of this

anymore. Like, I think that it's just been the Pete Davidson effect. He really broke down the wall. So now anything that happens beyond the point of Cape E can say on Pete Davidson, people are not shocked. I'm also happy because we have not talked about Megan Fox much on this podcast. you know, she's been in a committed relationship. She's kind of fell off the scene a little bit. But people forget about Megan Fox and they shouldn't. They should not forget about Megan Fox. No, they absolutely should not.

Seeing this trend now where P. Davidson and his best bud, MGK, are just getting all of these great girls. I'm kind of proud of them. I'm impressed. Yeah. Like they deserve kind of a standing ovation. For sure. And it's very cool to see.

like, I feel like Megan Fox and Machine and Kelly just like scream rock and roll to me. Like she is just like a rock and roll chick. Sex, drugs and rock and roll. Yeah. Yeah. Like the two of them. And, you know, Megan had filed for divorce and then they got back together. So it would make sense that that him speaking about

this butterfly, you know, that has to spread her wings and fly away. Eventually, I guess it's just reached its time, which is sad, but there she is. Machine Gun Kelly is ready to comfort her. I don't even know. I was thinking some other things that I won't say out loud. Like, she tweeted a screenshot of, like, top five iTunes charts, and it was like, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Katie Perry, like, bam, Caitlin Bristow. Just really, really cool. and the song's super cute, super catchy is called, if I'm being honest.

And I'm just so, I'm so happy for her. I am so happy to, she is living my damn dream. You go, Caitlin Burstow. If I can't do it, somebody's got to do it. I'm just, I am just proud of her and happy to see her doing something that she's extremely passionate about. She loves singing. She's great at singing and to actually get out there and to put yourself out there.

And release a song, especially when people, are so critical. I think it's super cool. And to see it doing really well as well is awesome. So good for you, Caitlin Bristow. Everybody go check out her song. It's great. Go bop to it. You'll feel good. You definitely will. And then the other thing is Taylor Swift. We've seen a lot of stories from Taylor Swift during this time of her sending things to fans and donating money. She's been really great. So the latest thing that Taylor Swift has done, she sent this package to Emerson Weber. She's 11-year-old from Sue Falls. And this adorable girl, she had wrote a letter to her local manman thanking him for his service during this time. The letter was really super, super sweet.

And in an interview with GMA, she had said, I love being able to decorate the envelopes. It really shows my creative spirit. Writing letters, you can share so much by yourself. It's like being there in person. And I love receiving them because you know that someone took the time in their day to write back to you. So she wrote this letter to her mailman Doug.

The young fan thanked him for taking my letters and delivering them. You are very important to me. I make people happy with my letters, but you do too, which was so cute. And so obviously people have been sending Emerson tons of letters, um, local postal service.

You know, the local delivery people have been writing her. but her dad said that recently she got a special package. He wrote on Twitter, the past couple days have been beyond our wildest dreams, but today was a fairy tale. I mean, obviously there's a few Taylor Swift puns in his tweets. I'm not sure I can fully capture what we just experienced,

but I'll do my best, ready for it. And he posted a picture of a letter. She had painted it herself, says Emerson on the front. And he said that their brains were broken. They had to put the gift down. and wait an hour before going back and opening up, opening it up again because they were so shocked. And it was just really, really sweet. Taylor had written her a letter and said that the package had the smell of, quote, what happiness smells like. Aw. Well, every time we see a celebrity

do something like this, it's nice to see, obviously, because they're in a much better situation than most people. So to see Taylor Swift doing this is great. Yeah. Inside of it, there were a hand-painted envelope from Taylor. And then obviously the dad said he chose to keep some of the details of the letter from Taylor to his daughter private. He did share that Taylor was, quote, touched, honored and happy to hear about Emerson mentioning Taylor and her music in the letters she was sending out. But according to the letter, Taylor found it more important that Emerson, quote,

writes letters to people who don't expect a thank you. She saw on Emerson's father said, she saw an Emerson story, an innate sense of empathy, a curiosity about the feelings of strangers, and the drive to try and brighten someone's day. It's just really sweet. Like you said, according to the letter that she hopes Emerson feels good during her installation, not too lonely, that she would should make time to find and create a daydream.

Most importantly, no one expects you to be perfect. You've already set a really cool example, and I'm proud of you. It's just so cute. I mean, imagine being 11-year-old Emerson and just straight up getting a package from Taylor Swift in the mail, like a hand painted. That is something that my parents, would lie to us about and say celebrity sent us up, but they didn't actually do it.

This actually happened, and that's awesome. We are here with a special guest, actress Sidney, welcome to the show. Hello. Hello. We're very excited to have you. We are big fans. Both of us are obsessed with Euphoria, obviously,

like everybody else in this world. But we're super excited to talk to you, and you have this new movie coming out. Clementine, which is really interesting because honestly, there's not much you can find about it right now, which is really cool. So can you just talk about

this movie a little bit in your role? Yeah, so it's with Otmar and I. Amara plays Karen who just recently went through a breakup, and so she runs away to this cabin in the middle of the woods in the Pacific Northwest, and

it's on this beautiful lake, and we were filming in Florence, Oregon, which was a beautiful place that has sand dudes on one side and then a lake and a forest on the other. It was beautiful magic. And so her character goes there and she runs into me. And my character is kind of a mystery. You're not quite sure who she is, what she's doing there. And Karen tries to figure her out.

And the entire time it's this amazing psychological thriller meets this sexy coming of a story and just put puzzle pieces together as you go along. That's awesome and this film came out in the Tribeca Film Festival right last year and so the anticipation has been building up and it's going to be released in virtual cinemas May 8th. How has that been just like waiting for it to come out? It's been a long way. I mean I'm used to having to wait a while but I've definitely been really excited for people to see this just because it's such a raw professional. performance from everyone and I think it's beautifully shot. But yeah, I was I was so worried because of the whole COVID thing and that no one would get to see it until a lot later. So I'm excited that they

have everything with the virtual theaters and I think it's awesome that we're able to support these theaters during these times. Yeah, definitely. I love that we are still able to watch these new movies and support and just do it from our homes, which is great. And it is, it is an indie flick. You know, it's different than maybe what people recognize you from these big shows, Handmaid's Tale, Euphoria. What do you love about doing like the indie flicks compared to, you know, the big budget TV shows? I mean, they're definitely very different. You're working with a very small crew on a very small set with maybe 10 crew members compared to 100 crew members. So it's more intimate in a way.

Yeah, I just, I think that it all depends on the experience. I've done many different indie films where some feel like these huge productions and some feel like a very close-knit family. And same with bigger projects. So I think he just depends on the project. This was just, it was really cool. I was actually filming everything sucks in Portland, Oregon. And one of the producers was like, there's this amazing script called Clementine.

I think that you should read it. And so I got sent the script and I went and I auditioned for it. And I booked it. And so a couple months after everything sucks, I started Clementine. And then I booked Handmaids Tail while I was filming Clementine. So it was like this beautiful mixture of big project, indie big project. It was cool. Yeah, you've done a lot of things recently, but obviously you've been working in the field for a long time.

I feel like people don't realize like how much goes into auditioning before. where you finally land that role. What's it like auditioning now, since you have all these credits under your name? It's definitely a lot different. Now I walk in and I don't have to bring in a headshot or resume. Or I don't audition at all, which is like a complete crazy aspect of it

because I remember my mom and I would just be waiting for an email notification that I get an audition and now it's, I don't sit for that. It's just it's been completely different and just being able to really Actually get to sit back and and pick what roles I want to do instead of being like oh my god, I need to work every day or else my parents won't believe that I can be an actor It's it's nice being able to sit and choose what I want to do next Definitely I feel like when you're starting off as an actor or actress It's like whatever role comes through your email whatever breakdown you're like yep, I'm auditioning I'll take it whatever

role. But that's awesome now that you get to like look through, figure out what the right role is for you. And you've also been working on a lot of coming of age projects. You said Clementine is like that and then euphoria, big time adolescence. So we're seeing a lot of that from you. Yeah, I definitely tend to be drawn towards this kind of projects. I think because I never really got a true high school experience because I was working during high school. I keep finding myself wanting to live vicariously through different characters' experiences, whether or not they're good or bad. It's fun for me to live that. But I definitely want to venture out and sell those stuff soon. Yeah. And there is definitely the coming of age, but you have also played some really emotional

characters between like sharp objects and Handmaid's Tale, like these very, very intense shows and intense roles. How do you kind of like get to that place to reach that level? Like what is your preparation for kind of diving into a character that is unlike yourself? Well, I build these books for my characters that it's like a character journal, but way deeper and way more. It's like from the first day she was born to the first page of the script and then I dive into this script and so I literally build this character to be another human being and I'm able to just

jump in and out of that character and into myself and everything that happens to the character just affects me because when you know different things that have happened to the character it just helps me dive into it more yeah that's really cool I mean yeah I was going to say I don't I've never heard of somebody doing that before like was that something that you just came up with yourself that you wanted to do for, for, I guess, your character development? Yeah, I'm, I'm quite a nerd. I love notebooks. I love school, so I love taking notes. I love just writing everything down. And so when I was working on building my characters, I would just, like, write down different things about my character. I found myself diving even more into it. And the first time I

truly did a character book wasn't until sharp objects. And I was like, oh my gosh, I need to know everything about this character. So like, I'm on top of my shit right now. So I did that. And then it just hit. I was like, this is amazing. And I do it for every character now. That's awesome. And I saw on your Instagram Live, you also said that you make playlists for different characters. I think that's awesome because music, I just feel like is one way to escape reality. And And I want to know how, like, what is the process that goes into creating each playlist? And can you give us an example as to what kind of songs probably go with, like, Cassie's character? Well, with Euphoria, it's very different because music is a huge aspect of the show.

So many times Sam already has written in different songs that will be a part of the show. And so I'll add them to the playlist. But usually it's just I'll put random spotting. if I were random Apple music on and just listen to songs. And then if I'm like, oh, this is something my character would have listened to during this time of your life, I'll add it. And so I actually, I'll pull up my playlist. I have, let's see, you guys want Cassie?

Yeah, this is exciting because Euphoria does have some bomb music. Honestly, I remember the first time I watched it, I was like, this shit is awesome. A lot of rap music, which I like. Yeah. So Cassie, the one thing that you never really dove into on the show, but when I was building her, I always felt like she hasn't really quite figured out who she is on her own yet. She feels lost within her friend group, but yes, she's still there. She just, like, everyone else has such a solid style and personality, and she just, she's still

figuring it out. So the music goes all over the place. I have music from Soap and Skin. I have music by Elton John. One of our favorites. Definitely a lot of Billy.

Post Malone. Albinth because love. Bozzy, Ariana Grande, and a lot of Florence in the machine. Yeah. Love it. I feel like that all fits. I love that. said labyrinth um because i love magic dance do you have that one on there i don't everest i am obsessed with

that song that's a good one it's great that and like you said music is such a huge part of that show i feel like everybody was so drawn to it plus it also just made i don't know the the moments of the show feel bigger and more emotional because the music was so great with it but euphoria was such a huge huge, huge, huge success. And I feel like afterwards, the whole cast has kind of gotten this, like, young, up and coming. Like, these are the big names, like, this cast of Euphoria.

And it's crazy because when you guys were all, I'm curious, like, when you guys were all cast and, you know, you had your first table reads and whatnot, did you guys know each other? How did you get along? Like, did you guys all think, like, wow, this is going to be huge? I didn't know anyone.

We definitely knew we had something. It wasn't like, oh, I wonder what's going to happen. It was definitely, I wonder, we didn't know who our fan base and audience would be because we're teenagers, but it's not a show for 12-year-olds. Right. So we were very curious to see what would happen in that aspect, and definitely were blown away by how wide the age range has been for our viewers. That was really...

Definitely. Definitely. So now what's happening with season two? Obviously, you guys had to halt production, but how far did you guys get into shooting season two? Not far. Oh, man. Unfortunately. It's like we want...

This is hard for us because we want to film it because it's so much fun filming it. And then also we just want everyone to see. see it too. Yeah. Yeah. Cassie had a very interesting story on. Like you said, you build out these characters. And Cassie throughout the first season, I can totally get that vibe.

You were saying, like, not really sure who she totally is. But one thing is she kind of has, like, this stereotype around her of what kind of girl she is. And I'm curious because I can't imagine how intense filming those, like, more intimate scenes are, how do you prepare for things like that? Well, when we had an intimacy coordinator on set, which was really cool, so they're there to make sure that even though after you've signed your contract saying you're okay with it, to double check and be like,

are you sure you're okay with this? Because you can still change your mind. And so they're more on our side. And if we're filming a scene for too long, they're like, okay, you've been humping for way too long now. But also when you're filming those scenes, it's so much more technical than it looks because you have weird garments on that different parts of your body. You can choose to have a mini yoga mat in between you that they'll just like CGI out so that your bodies don't actually touch. You have a cameraman like right up in your face or a mic guy standing there like awkwardly looking

away. So it's definitely, it's all choreographed. Like, it's not as intimate as you think it would be. That makes sense. TV magic. That's the, yeah. Is there anything that you can tease about Cassie in season two? I saw you talk about it in other interviews and you were saying that there's a big twist, but obviously you can't say much. Yeah, I can't, but it's, it's something that I wasn't even expecting. So, yeah. See, now my mind is racing and I think that I could think of what would happen, but I feel like that's just not possible. No, because Sam over the summer, he called me and he was like, so what do you think happens to Cassie? And I was like, I don't know, maybe this or that. And he was like, no, I couldn't even figure it out until he was like, okay, I'm going to read you something.

And my mind just exploded. Wow. It's a great tease. I know. It's definitely exciting. So, And it's crazy, like you said, unfortunately, you guys had to stop for season two now. But I just was curious, like, what have been your quarantine activities? How have you been spending your time? Because I did see on Instagram you do like a Sydney Sweet Reads, like a book club almost. Which I think is so cute. And you should join it. I know.

I saw the book and was like, I should read that. Yeah, we're going to start our second. book. Okay. Next week. I haven't announced it yet, but it's fun. I love reading, and I was just thinking, I felt bad that people don't have things to do, and I was really lonely.

And so I was like, let's do a book club. So I've been doing that. I've been working out a lot, which I think out. Props to you. It's hard. It's hard. Literally last night, I was eating butter tacos. Do you know what butter tacos?

No. No. Sounds delicious. I like both of those things on their own. Right? So you get the tortilla and you put it on top of the flame for a little bit and get it nice and warm and then you take butter and you just melt butter all over it. And then you roll it up and you eat it. It's literally a cocoa.

I have never. That sounds like a bagel, like a toasted. Unbelievable. I was eating like four of those last night and then I woke up and I was like, shit, I got to work out. Oh, man. And that sounds amazing. I am not going to lie. Wow.

You want to make, like, if you eat that for, like, your dinner and then you want to make a dessert one, sprinkle some cinnamon and sugar on there. I was going to say that probably tastes good with, like, a chocolate drizzle of sorts. Nutella, like slot Nutella on it, on top of the butter. Now I'm just getting really hungry. I'm like, totally going to eat off. As you can tell, Rui and I love dessert. Oh, my kitchen.

right here. I can just make it right now. Yeah. Yeah. Um, you also worked on, um, one of my favorite movies this year, this past year, once upon a time in Hollywood. I've seen it like five times at this point, which is a long, it's a long movie. Yeah. It's a lot of hours. It's a lot of hours I put in this film. That's almost a full day of just that movie. Yeah. But I absolutely loved it. And I just wanted to know what it was like working on that movie with such a, you know, amazing. cast and Quentin Tarantino as the director and how you got involved in that film? Well, it was an email audition and I freaked out. Everyone was auditioning for the same character and then he ended up placing whoever in different

characters. He as in Quentin Tarantino? Yeah, Quentin Tarantino. It was cool. I did like my initial first audition with the casting director. And then I got a call back to go to Quinn's office and do like a workshop chemistry type thing with him. And I think there were like seven or eight other people. And we were there for a couple hours.

We had lunch all together. It was like a very laid back casual experience that I've never quite had before. And it was amazing. And I told myself, I was like, if I don't get this, I'm okay because I just had that experience. And I'd be completely happy with that. And I actually found out that I booked that that night. And I'm so glad because I think I would have been dying today waiting to hear. And that was back in, I want to say, April or May.

So many months before we started shooting. And the announcement didn't come out until August. So I could not say anything to anyone for many months. And it was killing me inside. But then I went to set and I was a nervous wreck. I was freaking out because I felt so stupid because in so many interviews I was like, I love Leonardo DiCaprio. Yeah. I was like, oh, I hope he's never seen anything that I've said.

Yeah. I mean, I feel like everybody would be in the same position as you. I mean, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, like, right. Right. Right. Talked about them. So. Yeah.

I was like, oh, my God. I feel so embarrassed right now. But I doubt he even knows who I. but it was amazing it was so much fun because the set felt so real and we literally just ran around with no shoes on and we couldn't have our phones on set so you just hang out with everybody and it was amazing it was an experience I'll never forget that's awesome and it must have been the best feeling ever like going to an audition that day and then that night getting it is just such a relief it'll never happen again it'll never happen again so

At least it happened with Quentin Tarantino though That's pretty cool That's the best one So I'll take that For sure Definitely And go ahead Ria Sorry

And you also Big Time Adolescence Which I watched on Hulu And you worked with Pete Davidson In a time where like You played his girlfriend In a time where like Everyone wants to be Pete Davidson's girlfriend

So what was that like? It was cool It was definitely a different kind of movie was my first comedy. So that was out of my, my territory of something I knew. I've never worked with rock stars before. So that was for sure an experience. But they're hilarious. Pete is just, you just laugh nonstop. He's so much. And him and Machine Gun Kelly together, they're best friends, right? So yeah, I love Colson. He's also an amazing actor. Like, he's, he's, he's, It's very talented and they are, they're wild together, but they're so much fun.

That's awesome. And I just want to ask about the part where you had sex with Monroe, right? That was his name. What was that like for you? Like awkward or it's just part of the movie? I've known Griffin for many years. I've known Thomas and I went to school together. So I've known Thomas played his like goofy friends But I've known them for a while It was just like a funny Goofy kind of thing It wasn't much of anything

It was just it was funny Yeah I definitely enjoyed the movie so Well Sydney there's been so many things that obviously we have loved watching you And recently I feel like everything you have done has been really great So we're really excited to see Comantine, and hopefully everybody will be able to watch it from their homes, because it will be released May 8th of virtual cinemas, and everybody can check it out. The trailer is absolutely adorable. I think it looks like it's going to be a huge hit for Netflix. but why don't you tell us a little bit about how you kind of got into this into this role and just back into acting well thank you yeah I know I think the trailer they did a phenomenal job yeah I um I guess let's see this was last summer it's like I don't

even know what day it is anymore but um last summer I was meeting with I went to the Netflix offices in L.A and I was meeting with I was meeting with with some people and I guess as we were sitting there kind of talking they were like would you be interested in being a part of one of our series that we have coming out it's um it's the role you know to kind of explaining the whole thing to me and I was like oh yeah of course I mean number one like getting a job in hollywood right now is so hard so it's like of course I would love to um you know read it and it just so happened that the um people who are kind of like the ones who give you the okay all three of them happened to be in town. We had breakfast. They met with me. And this character just really,

it almost felt like I had like, I don't know, it felt like I was just like I'd been heard before my life, I feel like, literally. So it was, it was one of those things where I read for it. They liked it. And I was able to go do it like two weeks later. It was like really fast because I think they were having trouble casting this role. And so everything fell into place. And I've always loved acting and I was kind of nervous to get back into it because I'm an adult now and I just felt like, oh my gosh, what if I suck at it? Like what if it's completely different as a kid? And so it was something I was kind of scared to do for a while. But once I got back on set and I was with, you know, in that environment, this feels like home. Why have I not been doing this every day? So it's kind of like you just got to take that first step.

And I think that's awesome. It was like the fear, the fear that I had, the nerve, So I was like that outweighed. My excitement outweighed it. And also, you know, getting a job. I was like, well, you know, you got to do what you got to do. So it was really just one of those things that worked out. And I was just so thankful to be able to get back to work. And we're really happy to see you back on screen, like Fran said.

We're huge fans of you. Can you describe your role in Sweet Magnolias for the people who don't know what it's about? Well, it's based around a southern town. It's called Serenity, which is so odd because, like, my, mom's home. Like, I don't know. I think it's kind of weird when people name their houses, but my mom did. So anyways, the name of her home is serenity. And so anyways, this whole thing is based off of this small town serenity and just kind of how everyone knows your business or whatever. And my character is a young girl who comes to town, gets a job as a nurse, and ends up becoming the other

woman to the most popular doctor in town. And you hear that and you're like, oh my God, already hate her. Like, what is she, who does she think she is? Young girl coming in here and, you know, getting knocked up by the doctor. That's great. And so, um, you get to see that she's just a young, naive girl who kind of puts herself in a situation and she's trying to make the best of it, but also learning from it and growing up. But you really shouldn't judge a book by its cover because when you watch the show, I think that's the best part about it is it shows everybody's story. There's not just like, oh, we're going to follow the lead story and everyone's going to be team her. They tell everybody's stories. So,

by the end of it you're like kind of torn and kind of feel bad for noreen and i think that's what's really well done is it kind of makes us all have a little bit more compassion for other people before we just immediately was yeah i'd never do that she's the moron you know it's like to have a little compassion to understand their intentions and so i love playing her and um you know i think that i kind of i understood what it feels like to be misunderstood yeah you said some of the nerves were kind of there at the beginning what were those like first few days on set like did you miss being in that environment? Like how was kind of getting the hang around the cast and everything?

It was really cool the way they did it. I got to come in like a week or maybe a week or two ahead of time before production actually started. And I was able to read through like most of the scripts with the director and the producer. So I felt confident when I went on, because I'm going to need validation. Like tell me I'm doing good or else I don't like being out there like, oh, am I doing good? am I doing right? So it was really nice to sit down with them and they'd be like, yes, that's it.

That's what we, you know, be like, so when I went on set, I did have a little bit more confidence knowing that I was already sort of validated through them and what I was doing, but I was still very nervous because that's the weird thing about acting is like, did I do it right, did it good. You know, you just don't, it's not like, oh, you won the game, you know, like a ball game, you get enough points you want. You did good. It's like when you're acting, you're like, I'll find it okay. And so I was very nervous, but they were really good about making sure that we all felt comfortable with our character before we even stepped on set. Right.

And you mentioned that your character is pregnant. So what is that like playing a pregnant person, not actually being pregnant? Like, how do they do the stomach? How do they do all that? It always, I'm always curious about that. I'm not sure if it's always the same. But for me, it was like, I don't even know how to explain it. But like the best way I can explain is like, I don't know if you've ever seen like a breast implant.

It was like kind of like that, but for my belly. and so it was like this little and then it sat like this little it was like almost overalls but just for your belly and it sat this little like kangaroo sat and it grew with every episode well every two episodes they gave me a bigger size belly so that way it was realistic and I mean I kind of liked it because I'd go into fittings and I don't have to suck in I just you know if anybody thinks I look chubby today it's just the belly so it was like a perfect excuse. I'm like, if fingers crossed we were to get a second seat, I'm like

so who can she be the other woman to now and have another pregnant belly? Because this is awesome. Just to continue that look. Well, it's, it seems like the show hopefully is going to be a big success. Like I said, it looks

so cute. I don't know how you watch that trailer and not immediately want to watch the first episode. I'm already very excited to start streaming. Um, is this something that you will watch as a family? Like, do you see yourself watching this show, um, I hate watching myself and I really hate watching myself, like, with, like, my husband and my children, like, it just feels like so self-indulgent. Like, everyone sit around and watch Mommy

on screen. It just seems like an a-hole move. But at the same time, I know they want to see it. And I am proud of the fact that, you know, I got back up there after some of the same. many years and I was able to, you know, show my, my daughter that, you know, not to be afraid and get up there. So it's something I do want to watch with them. But I just don't know if I, like, want to watch myself on TV with my whole family. It just feels kind of embarrassing. But then again, the thing that's good about the show is it's not one of the shows like someone's getting murdered every other episode and it's like some drug lord or something, which I love all those times. I'm like the biggest fan of that. But it's one of those shows that's dealing with, you know, families, divorces, kids in high school,

kind of more real life stuff that we're dealing with than just about how the whole community and family and friends all kind of are in it together good or bad and I think that's important to have especially right now like the way the whole world has had to pull together it's nice to have a show that's kind of breath of fresh air in that sense right well I was going to say I mean it's the perfect time for it to be coming out while everyone's at home everyone's streaming like I have watched endless TV all I do is watch TV at this point. Are y'all in Los Angeles or where are y'all at? New York City. Oh my gosh. Bless your heart. Oh my gosh. You're a mix of it. I honestly haven't left my apartment in like weeks. Like I'm actually afraid to go outside but that's besides the point. Yeah. Yeah. I don't have to

get into that. But how's quarantine life treating you guys? Um, well, again, New York, I feel so bad because, you know, y'all are in y'all's apartments and you don't really have it. yard or a lot of space to kind of get some fresh air. And for us being able to quarantine at my mom's was mainly our main choice was because there's a lot of room outside for the kids where we can go and play and get fresh air. And that's been our lifesavers being able to go outside and just and just kind of be kids again. Like I literally have been outside of my kids. We've been doing chalk art. We've been riding, you know, the golf partner playing on swings. And that's been a huge blessing to us. And so for me, I feel kind of guilty because I'm like, oh my gosh, the people who've

got the worst of it, you know, you're in your apartment. You can't even get outside to just have like 10 minutes by yourself in the sunlight. And that's been the biggest, that's been the biggest help for me. Mentally and everything is just being able to go outside and take a run, like that's such a privilege for me to be able to go do that. And so that's really been mentally the only way I've been able to get through it. And too, having my mom here, I'm going to take the kids for a second. I'm going to lose one. Right. You know, like that's been a really big help as well. Right. And it seems like from social media that you guys are having a lot of fun on TikTok, which I love TikTok as well. So it's great to see like all these celebrities joining it and just people you would never expect.

Like, no offense, I didn't expect Jamie Lynn Spears to be popping up on TikTok, but there you have it. I had a TikTok account for a while, but I never used it. It was kind of like one of those things I just had it to have it. And I do one like maybe once a year or since it's. come out, which would be like three or four. I don't even know how long it's been out. But during this time, when we're locked in here, my 11-year-old, she doesn't have the TikTok, but all of her friends do. So she was like, Mom, let's do TikTok, mom, see a TikTok, or whatever. And I'm like, I don't even know how you understand what any of this is. So we started doing it, and it was fun because we were connecting with other people on there. And it was just something fun we

can do. And I've tried doing a few of them by myself, but I don't really know what I'm doing. So, like, I always have her with me doing it. So you don't even need an account. You basically run mine but I love it I mean I think it's fun my husband thinks it's ridiculous and it's just you know it's something to do I don't think that there's I mean we've got to learn to laugh at ourselves at some point and so if I'm sitting here trying to pretend like I'm a dancer or something then that's fine it's not really dance moves it's like TikTok moves which is what I've learned exactly it's not like no mom you can't do that that's no no it's a TikTok move like I was trying to like be full on choreography that's not how it works that's hilarious that's hilarious that's hilarious

but also so true. I also saw that Charlie DeMalio follows you. So there you go. Yeah, apparently that's a very big deal. Yeah. And we did, see, I don't know how TikTok works, but I was looking at it. I was like, I noticed like she had millions of millions,

millions, billions of views on her post. And then some of them didn't have as many. I was like, it's weird, you know. I was like, Maddie, what is this? You know, and she was like, oh my God, she followed you back. And I was like, Oh my gosh.

It was like, it was really funny seeing like her react like that. And then I kind of did as well because I saw how excited she was. And then I looked at home and oh, my gosh, she has like a trillion follower. So that's unbelievable. Yeah. That's amazing. And now you're like the coolest mom ever. Oh, yeah.

Like that lasted me like for a whole day. She thought I was. Yeah. Right. And I was going to say even if like Maddie running your account is almost best case scenario because like that's, you want an 11 year old running your account. Like she knows what's cool. it's not cool.

Exactly. So, I mean, obviously, I don't just let her go through my phone and like, you, it's on my phone. Yes, yes.

But when I go get on there, I'm like, is this the video, like, are these? It's like, not what the one you want to do. And all the hashtags

or whatever it is. Like, we're just, you know, it's weird how these kids, it is definitely a different world that they're growing up in. Yeah,

definitely. It really is. And when, uh, you were on Zoe 101. So that was like, you know, you took a long break

from since then. And there wasn't social media or anything at that time. So it's it's so different to think about like what I mean it was still huge but like what it would have been on social media because it was such such a big part of everyone's lives. I mean including our own. So I can't even imagine. I think that that's like and thank y'all. I mean that's the main thing about Zoe that I love is one of people I talked to people like I grew up that was like my childhood. That's what I watched and having kids now and like seeing the shows they watch and knowing that oh my gosh it's like she could meet that person or whatever it's a big deal to them so for me i realize that i was that

person in other people's life i have some perspective on it and i think that um what's been really cool about not having social media then but having it now is how the fans are still i'm able to connect with them and how much they still love it and they still um they i mean it's like it's like it's still around in some cases because they literally nothing i do or post doesn't come zoe doesn't come up and i love it because that's where i started and i'm just um you know i i just think that it's funny though to see the way that like see the way the world has changed but it's still relevant right like it's crazy because i obviously the show hasn't been on in so long but like you could be scrolling ticot and all of a sudden hear the zohy one-on-one theme song like in some in in a ticot because

one the song still slapsed and two, because it's just so fun and obviously it's easy to dance to and people like the nostalgia factor. And on top of that, we've seen you guys reunite recently. You guys did the all that sketch and the, you know, the Zoe One cast was with you for that, which is really cool. And they, and I think there was also one time that they had all gotten together that maybe you were not there with them. I was, um, that was, I was actually in Atlanta shooting Sweet Magnolia. and they all got together and had a dinner, and I just couldn't leave in the middle of production to go.

Yeah. But we did, we had the reunion on all that. And that was kind of for me, there's been all these talks about, you know, Zoe having a reboot and all this kinds of things. And I was like, you know what? Let's just, let's just see if it's still there. And so we, I was going to go back and do all that. And I said, let's, I had this idea to do a skit where the whole Zoe cast is

trying to get in and I was playing the old bodyguard that I'd played when I was younger. And so it was just, we picked up right where we left off. So I was like, I think we really need to look into doing this. And I think they're all down for it. Just about figuring out the right way to do it. Because like we don't want to, you know, it has to be them as young adults. We can't go back and try to make it just this, you know, like PG perfect show. It needs to relate to our fans now, just like it related to our fans then.

Obviously, our fans were never at a boarding school by the beach. But, you know, just dealing with kind of. of, you know, being able to relate to our fans and whatever way it connected to them. I want to do it in a way that connects to our fans who they are now. Right. Right. If you had to put the perfect scenario in your head as to what Zoe would be up to now, what do you think it would be? Everyone always asked me, they even asked us that weren't all that. And I was like, I hate, I should have sort of like a really good answer. Like, is this what I should have been thinking about for the past, what, 15 years? Yeah. But I mean, I think whatever she's doing, she's definitely

like a boss of some sort. She's running something of some sort. And, um, you know, I think her and Chase obviously would have to have some romantic story. I don't know if they're still together. If they tried it didn't work. I don't know, but I think that has to be explored. I mean, right? Absolutely. I mean, like, I'm getting, I'm like, I got open to ideas. Like I want to like, ooh, I think we got the right idea. So I'm open to ideas. That's what I always try to tell my things like, you'll tell me. It's like,

what is the best case scenario? You don't want to do it for the sake of doing it and be like, oh, this is just like ridiculous. Like no one can't. So I want to do it

to where it is still a good show and I want to, you know, so any ideas I am open to them 100%. Ooh, now my mind is racing. If there's, maybe you want to get to get some form together.

We'll submit our request because we still, we still talk about it all the time just how the show ended and how we would want it to play out. And it's crazy because with reboots like this happening, like Liz McGuire had gotten a reboot, I feel like kind of very similar situation

where Hillary Duff wanted to make sure that Liz McGuire was an adult with real-life problems. And thank God, because I don't think anybody would want to watch a show where this girl is 30 now and has the same problem she had when she was 15. Exactly. So it would be really cool to see. Zoe in that in that situation. Yeah, totally. And that was the thing is like, you know, there are all these, I've had the conversations with certain people. And it's all like very much

baby stages. But there's interest there. We do want to make it happen. It's just about doing it the right way. Given the fans what they want, because they have been so loyal. And it was their childhood. So we want to honor that. And yeah, you know, hopefully I would like it to be a story that I get to tell for a little bit. So I don't want it to be something that it sucks. And everybody's like, get this off. Like, no one wants to watch this. So I'm hoping to do something that would have a little bit of longevity to it as well. Well, we would watch no matter what. I'm hoping that they put it on a streaming service of some sort. Do you have any idea about that? That's all conversations. It's like, where's the right home for it? And I think for our generation and for our fans, I think a streaming

service would have to be where it would be. That's what I think. Then again, I don't know anything. So I just, you know, as far as that goes, I don't know what would be the best home for it. And I think that's that's once I think once all those kind of questions are answered and taken care of I think then we can get to the fun part of really just figuring out where the characters are but again I don't know if it's like there's I don't know if what comes first really like these are all conversations that I've had meetings with important people about this and I'm just like so what do we do now like what happens next like I don't know so is it my job to call these people like hey want to put this on air like what do right right well they got to put the they got to put the old episode

up somewhere because I am dying to watch those, dying to watch them. Yeah. And so that's what I was wondering because like some of my fans will tag me in these videos. The old episode, I'm like, where are you getting these? But apparently I guess they, I don't know if they get them off of iTunes. I don't know where they get them from. But I, um, I did see though that was it Tim Nick that was airing some of the old episodes. I think someone was because they tagged me in something. And I was like, I mean, it's like, yeah. And I come across it somewhere out there. Yeah, I come across it sometimes if I'm channel surfing kind of late later at night when Nickelodeon does play a lot of their their older stuff between old episodes of Zoe or all that or Drake and Josh or whatever

there's you know they they have different different ones up there and it's a delight every time every time you see it on the screen and that's what's weird is like I think about like because you know we had a total of five seasons but the last two seasons we shot together um because everybody's starting to get older and like, you know, you didn't want to have like, you know, these old kids that are not really, you know, chase with like five o'clock chatter. Yeah. But we, um, uh, it's weird because I can look at each season and know exactly where I was like in my life at that time. So it's a weird like kind of yearbook of like looking at yourself.

I mean, oh, if I don't want to watch that episode, I hate what I was doing that my hair looks absolutely awful. This whole season, I don't want to look at that episode, you know. And it's just funny to think back, like, about how like my life has kind of been, you know, recorded almost. Yeah. Didn't, uh, you told a story about, um, I think one of the promo shots, your hair was like brown and you just died at brown one day. But I remember seeing that hair and being like, I love that color.

I love it. Well, like, that story was just about a rebellious little 13 year old or however old I was at that time. We had, um, so I was home in Louisiana and it was like, oh, coming, there was, I think the Kids Choice Awards were coming up or something like that. But before then, we were supposed to do the Zoe promo shoot where it was going to be like, you know, for all the, you know, in between the episodes and the merch and all that kind of stuff. And I knew like a week ahead of time that I was going to have to fly in early, go do that kind of stuff before the award show.

And I decided for some reason I was going to dye my hair black. And it was like, of course they were, you know, it's not like telling me what you do, but the character had blonde hair. You know, you want to call them blue blonde. And they were just like, you know, we do want her to have blonde hair, whatever. My mom was like, don't you dare dye your hair. But I went over to my friend's home, my house, and then I came back with black hair. My mom was like, hmm-hoo.

I remember I walking door, she was just like, we got to fly early and they're going to have to color your hair. I'm like, whatever. So I went in and they did, and they had to strip it down and got it to like this weird color. And then they put in some extensions to help me blonde. I remember them looking at like, well, this is just going to have to work. My hair was so fried. I mean, beyond fried. It, and Ria,

Ria, like, isn't it so crazy because I, like, I remember watching that and, like, seeing the different colors in your hair and being, like, her hair is so cool. Yeah, exactly. So it kind of worked out. Well, see, that happened. I don't know what season that was, but it's like,

no, I'm talking about the season when I had, like, the brown, like, short hair when it was, like, chopped here, like, chopped here. That was, like, that experience. So after that, my hair did get better. And I was like, I'm only dying the top blonde because my hair, like, fell out. I really did some damage there. So then it just turned into those things.

where I had like kind of blonde on top and brown on bottom. And people thought that was just some clever decision. It was like, no, it's no way of hair. Yeah. You started the ombray. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

I started, I mean, I was responsible for a lot of probably bad trends. I remember thinking, wow, that's so cool. And I remember sitting in that hair chair after I did that and was like, my mom was right. I was never going to admit it. I was like, oh, my God, this is a bad idea. Why did I do that? Yeah. But looking back now, it's fun to laugh at.

Yeah, exactly. Should have listened to Mama. Yeah. That's always the moral of the story, isn't it? Yes. If I could give myself any advice for when I was younger, just tell your mama everything and didn't listen to her. You would have saved herself so much trouble.

Yeah, that's definitely true. Has Maddie watched Zoe 101? Yes. She's seen some episodes. I mean, it's embarrassing for me, but it's, One of the things that's cool, or no, weird, is I look at her. She's now 11.

Yeah. I cannot believe that, like, I was working, like, at that age. Like, I look at her and I'm like, like, I can't imagine waking up. Come on, honey, let's go to work. Like, you're going to go. It's just weird to think about the fact that at that age. And I remember that age being fully competent. And that's what I wanted to do.

And I knew it. And I just think it's so bizarre when I look at her. And I'm sometimes looking at my God, like, right now I'd be working. It's just so funny. But then again, I look at her when she goes out there and she plays softball. And she takes all this. you know, pressure, she'll be up there, last one to bat.

You know, it's the home running hit or whatever it is. Yeah. And I'm like, I could, I would have, I would have ran off of the field. I couldn't handle that pressure. So it's weird to sit there and think about like, you know, how at that age I was doing that. But then I see how she's, you know,

shining in other areas. But it's just, it's weird, it's a weird concept to look at your child and then look at yourself on TV. Like, that's what I was doing. That's so short. Right. Right.

That is insane. Does she have any urge to, act like you did um you know she would mention every now and then like you know i want to do this but okay well cool like let's work on some stuff and you know you at the school place coming up you oh no no no no and i'm like well sweetheart like you don't just like walk on set and you're just like hey i'm here this is my show or something i'm like you want to do it you know you got to like you i was so invested like i knew that's what i wanted to do i aggravated my mom and my sister and my i remember the whole family had a video recorder was making up skits would make people sit down and watch them

I was obsessed. It was all I wanted to do. And I'm not saying she has to be that extreme. But, you know, it's something that you're passionate about and you want to do. You kind of show interest or you'd want to at least like read some scripts with me or, you know, something like that. So if it's one day something she wants to take seriously or, you know, do, then I'm totally going to support whatever my kids want to do. But I'm also not going to be like some drill sergeant who's like going to make my children do something they don't naturally take to. Right. Right. You know the ins and out, so if she wants to do it, you can help her. Exactly, exactly. So it's all about just, you know, but I'm not, like, nothing's going to be handed to her. You know, it's like I think that you should want to do it. Because there's so many kids out there who would die to do things.

So I don't think that, you know, she should take it just for the sake of taking it. Definitely. And like Ria said, she has the guidance for me. It's not, you know, your mother knows, your sister knows every day. There's enough in the Spears family to give her, to give her the right advice. We've done it all, good and bad. Yeah, exactly. And so you had said recently that you guys were actually all together for a couple weeks

and Brittany had come back. How is that? Like, I know it's so crazy because it's such a, the time, it's like so unfortunate that we're in this situation, but I feel like so many families are getting to spend time together that literally has never happened before. Like two weeks of just family time. And it's weird. and it's also good and it's like it's hard to like be thankful when people are hurting but you know

you're just trying to find that balance and so when it all happened um when everything kind of first went on lockdown i guess none of us were really sure like how long exactly or how horrible or good or whatever we no one knew anything and so um my sister she came home and she kind of set like a two-week trip and she know she had a plane book to go back and And so she went back with the intentions of thinking maybe a couple, like, you know, a week or two or something. But it ends up being like a whole other month or something. She probably would have stayed longer.

But yeah, we were all here. I mean, we fought like sisters and we loved like sisters. We annoyed each other. We laughed. I mean, it was all of it. It was good. But it was also like just a weird dynamic to feel like you're almost kids again, living in your mom's house.

But with your kids, it was like, it was a lot. but it's time that we never would have gotten probably any other way. Exactly. And I think that that was kind of a blessing in disguise in the midst of everything. Yeah, yeah. Well, I think, go ahead. Sorry, I cut you off. Yeah.

No, no, go ahead. Oh, no, I was just going to say, yes, sometimes with these Zoom recordings, like I feel like I see one of us about to talk and then I stop. And then it just turns into a good old awkward silence. So literally, I have no clue. if there's a right or a wrong way to do this, but it's like, this is what we're doing now. This is just our new normal. So I just think the whole thing is awkward. Like, I'm talking to a ringlight and a phone. Like, what is this world? Like, we're living in such a weird time.

So I think that it's all awkward, all of it. Yeah. Right. It's like, we're like robots, but not. You know what I mean? You've been locked in your apartment. Like, I just feel so bad for you. Like, it doesn't seem real, but this is our reality. Yeah, it's, it's definitely crazy. It really is. but Jamie Lynn, thank you so much for hopping on and doing this with us. It was fantastic.
