Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, Chicks in the Office listeners. You can find every episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or YouTube. Prime members can listen ad-free on Amazon Music. This is state of emergency. What's up, everyone? It's Chicks in the Office with Rianne Frand, giving you that Friday energy on a Monday. It is a rainy Monday here in New York, which seems to be the theme for Mondays going forward. Hard to just get up and get the week going.
Starting point is 00:00:36 But you know what? It's a perfect day. to listening to our Taylor Swift listening party, which will come later on in the episode. Unfortunately, we can't play the songs, which we've talked about before, but we will discuss in great depth the meaning of each song, I'm sure,
Starting point is 00:00:52 because we will be joined by Kelly Kiggs and Fettelberg. I saw someone comment on Instagram when we posted that Fights and Kelly were coming. That was just like, play the songs. Dave can pay the fees. It's like, I don't think. think people realize how much money you could get sued for especially taylor swift she's not afraid to sue people yeah for for um for using copyright music there's like that's why we play the same
Starting point is 00:01:20 song for the intro and the outro yeah i mean the intro songs are intro song we had to fight to keep it but like even just and we had to fight to keep yeah we had to choose one outro song yeah yeah we used to change it up all the time it's not really the most like legal thing even even still. So let's stop talking about it. So don't even tell anyone they do that. Right, yeah, don't talk about that. Okay, guys, don't tell anyone.
Starting point is 00:01:43 Anyways, that'll come on later in the show. But how's everyone doing on this Monday? How's everyone's weekend? I'm good. I'm tired. Really? It's a long weekend. Watched a lot of baseball.
Starting point is 00:01:56 Yeah, I think that was in everyone. Baseball fan now. Yeah, Fran, all of a sudden, big baseball girl. It's funny because people love to be like, oh, you don't, you don't care about baseball. I'm like, yeah, I don't really care about baseball. baseball but why not root for your team when they make it to the World Series. Yeah. Yeah, of course. You've just gone out of your way to say you don't care about baseball. In the past? In the past. Well, yeah, because I don't watch, right? I don't, I don't normally
Starting point is 00:02:21 watch baseball. But it does make sense. In this scenario, I will watch. Root for the Phillies. Yes. The Yankees lost last night. So it'll be Astros first Phillies, which will be fun. It'll be very interesting. Um, I actually like baseball the most. Not. I'm not saying out of you guys, I'm just saying out of all sports. Yeah. So I, he's laughing at me, but I actually do find baseball. No, you do like baseball, but you're not watching a lot of regular season baseball. No, but I used to a lot.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Like I before, actually, I've talked about this before I worked here, I was very into baseball. And then when I started working here, it was almost like, well, if you're not like the biggest diehard fan in the world, then you shouldn't be a fan at all. You know what I mean? So, and also I used to watch a lot of games with my dad. You know, you grow up and you're not, you're not home as often. Can't catch all those games with your dad. But I saw both of you this weekend, actually. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:18 I saw you Saturday night and I saw you Saturday night. Separately. Separately. Me and Noah had the craziest night of our lives. It was pretty wild. It was. Like, we, we. What did you guys do?
Starting point is 00:03:33 We got into some. I feel pretty left out right now. You shouldn't feel left out. We, it was. the craziest night ever. That's really how we can word it. Yeah. That's it.
Starting point is 00:03:44 That's all I get. Are you going to expand on it? So I saw Fran at the bar. She was with all her friends. And then Marty and Tommy were at the Yankee game. And they were like, you know, down and out about the Yankees losing. They went back to Tommy's apartment. Noah met up with them.
Starting point is 00:04:01 And then we, they couldn't decide. Nobody could decide what they wanted to do. So then I met up with them after I was. bouncing around solo on Saturday, which is not something I do quite often, but I was. So was that kind of. Yeah. I was with a group who it wasn't really like that well-versed. So I met up with them and we were like, gosh, should we go out?
Starting point is 00:04:25 Should we not go out? What do we do? Back and forth. And so we decided to go to some random bar. And we walked in and the bar just was not the scene. Like it was just, we just were like. empty. It was just, what are we doing here? What are we doing? We had one green tea shot. We walked out. We said, let's go. Just like a bar, not like a. It was just a bar on the lowery side.
Starting point is 00:04:46 It was just a bar on the lowery side. Then we walked out of there and we went to another bar and we kind of had the same feeling. We had another green tea shot. And then we were like, all right. Why don't we just walk? Escalate it? Why don't we just go into any bar we see and just take one single green tea shot? We were kind of like, what if we just went into a bunch of different bars and rank the green tea shots? and then we called it the Green Tea Tour. And so we went into like six or seven bars. And just the four of us. But there's magic in the air because we were running into people that we haven't seen in years. Every bar we went into, somebody would run into somebody that they knew or haven't.
Starting point is 00:05:25 And it was like the most, it wasn't like we were looking up bars to go to. We would just walk into bars and things would happen. And then we ended the night with corn dogs. who what did you guys have Were the green tea shots different in every place Yeah I would say different Some were good, some were not so good Some a little sour
Starting point is 00:05:45 Some little sweet The presentation was different Like some had big glasses Some had tiny plastic shots How do you feel about the big glasses I don't like the big glasses But we were saying for green tea shots I do like it
Starting point is 00:05:56 If it's like a tequila shot I wouldn't want it Yeah too intimidating No just give me the little plastic It just only because it just feels a lot it feels the least scary. Less daunting. Yeah, that's like the biggest. I see that cup.
Starting point is 00:06:09 I'm like, oh, I can do that. No problem. The big glass where you're like, oh, God, that looks huge. And then you psych yourself out of it. The beautiful thing about green tea shots is like, I just don't think they are like real. So that's, like, I don't think there's actually anything in there. At first, until I was really drunk when I got home. Like 2.2 a.m. I was like, oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:06:30 Like, I thought I was good. And then Marty kept saying to me like, no, you're, I'm a. like, oh my God, be so hung over tomorrow. And he's like, no, you're fine. You're going to be so great. And then the next morning I was really hung over. And he was like, I thought by telling you you weren't going to be that it was going to be fine, but like, no.
Starting point is 00:06:46 I think I was the only one that it really hit for a white tea shot these days. I don't have ever had that. I think it's, I don't like whiskey. Wait, what is in a green tea shot? It's whiskey and peach knops. Oh. Yeah, it's not even green tea. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:00 So it's, so you, it's, um, if you do it, um, if you do it, Peas shops and vodka They call it a white tea shot Is it taste? I think it's Yeah I think it's better It tastes it tastes like Just because I prefer
Starting point is 00:07:15 I prefer vodka to whiskey Although there was one bar where they said We don't have green tea shots And lemon drop Yeah we had to Which was disappointing We had to supplement To lemon drop
Starting point is 00:07:24 I was like we should leave But yeah We had well we went into one bar That was like We only do wine and liquor I mean no wine and beer We got laughed We got laughed out of that
Starting point is 00:07:33 place um sorry you guys weren't doing your research yeah well we like it complete random that's people we went into some random places yeah it was like but i will do any shot as long as it's not tequila i say that but then i'm like if people are doing tequila shots i do it i like a straight vodka shot i am it's kind of like a serial killer move it is it is a little bit but it just gets to the point oh Yeah, no. I'm just not too much. I can't really just do a straight shot of anything. It's all about the mindset, I feel. I don't like mix drinks at bars. That's also my problem. Why?
Starting point is 00:08:17 Yeah, it's wild. A vodka soda, I don't know why. Just like a jack and Coke. No. Nothing. Nothing. But I like dinner drinks. Like. You can get an espresso martini at the bar. Martini. Right, but you're not like when you go out to those, like, I'm not going to get it. Well, I mean, when you're on the Green Tea Tour, you don't really have time. Right. No, no, there's no time to stop. I get a drink.
Starting point is 00:08:37 No. At one point, I think it was you or Tommy said, I really wish I could just get a normal drink right now. Yeah, yeah, Tommy said that. We're like, nope, can't do it. So the Great Green Tea Tour will now commence every October, every third week of October, if you want to join us next year. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:52 Third week of October. You get a lot of exercising, a while walking. Yeah, yeah. Well, we were like, shit, we're already 5,000 steps deep on Sunday because the day started. Yeah. So when you don't move at all on Sunday, you actually still really accomplish something. Exactly. And the corn dogs.
Starting point is 00:09:08 I'm big on the corn dogs. I did not move at all on Sunday. It's a blob of a human. Absolute blob. I burned my finger. I was being... What did you burn your finger on? Hung over your brain just doesn't work.
Starting point is 00:09:20 Yes. I was being so stupid. I went to go make... I just wanted like hot water and lemon because my throat hurt. And I was like being so lazy. So I'm like, I'll just put it funny. fucking mug in the microwave and heat it up for a couple minutes. Not a couple minutes.
Starting point is 00:09:37 A minute. And then when I opened the microwave, I just like went to take the mug out of the microwave like a fucking idiot and like went to like loop my finger and just like burnt my finger. It's okay now. I did. But the worst part was it's on a, it was on my pointer finger on my right hand where I always have a ring on. and like, will you burn yourself? Like, you're supposed to, like, take off any rings in case it swells.
Starting point is 00:10:10 The pain after of having to pull my ring off my finger, like right after the burn, was so bad. But that I literally stood in my kitchen and, like, pulled up a chair and just let my hand run under cool water for, like, 10 minutes. Yeah, they say to do that. I never know if it really works. It works. I'm good now. I'm like, I have a little bit of a, like I can see it, but you're healed. Yeah. It actually helped a lot. I had the most disgusting day of food yesterday because I've been on like a health kick, like, you know, working out every day. I eat healthy for the most part. Me, try and know I have a group chat where we tell each other if we worked out that day and also what we're eating. And it's like a support. It's a support group. It works. It does work. Because if I'm like, hey, like, if they're like, yeah, I ran today, I'm like, damn.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Like, Trent, like one time, Texas at 11 a.m. Like, he was already done with his workout. It's like, fuck. All right. So now the rest of the day you're thinking, well, if Trent did it, I can do it. Yeah. You know? But yesterday, I was like.
Starting point is 00:11:16 And then the Trent can do it. I mean, I say the same thing about Noah. Right? Like, I'm like, if Noah's getting up and running, why can't I do that? Yeah. It's nothing against you guys. It's just anybody could do it. But yesterday, I was like, fuck this.
Starting point is 00:11:30 I'm eating whatever. whatever I want. Like, I'm eating whatever I want. So, woke up and waited about till 12.30, because I was like, I want to get lunch, got McDonald's. Then I took a nap. I woke up. I got dominoes. Then I wasn't, I honestly, nothing like really hit the spot. Like, I thought both of those things would hit the spot. Neither of them did. I did something crazy. I'm not, I was never a big KFC girl. I maybe had it a couple, couple times in my... I don't think I've ever had kids.
Starting point is 00:12:04 Like I maybe had it like three times in my early years, maybe around sixth grade because my best friend growing up, her family got KFC. But I never got KFC. Yeah. I never got like I just... I always wanted it, but my mom was always like,
Starting point is 00:12:21 I can make mashed potatoes at home. You know what I mean? Because I always wanted mashed potatoes. So yesterday I was like, fuck, you know what would really hit my spot? Mashed potatoes. And so I said, you know what? I'm going to get KFC.
Starting point is 00:12:37 Nobody told me that KFC had one of the best fast food items in the world. I didn't know. They're mashed potatoes? Their bowl, which is mashed potatoes, corn, gravy, and popcorn chicken all mixed together. It... Eh? I wouldn't want it all missed. I wouldn't want it all in one thing.
Starting point is 00:13:01 What? It is unbelievable. I'm kind of weird where I like my mashed potatoes, like, un... I wouldn't want my mashed potatoes and my chicken together. Well, the chicken lies on top of the mashed potatoes. Okay. It is so good. Unbelievable. Like, the way you said all mixed together made me think it was like...
Starting point is 00:13:20 Oh, no. Well, it's like mashed potatoes, corn, gravy, and then the popcorn chicken lies on top. Yeah. You never dip, like, your steak or your chicken in mashed potatoes? No. What? I like to keep my mass potatoes... here with like a gravy, but I don't like to, it's a consistency thing. It's like,
Starting point is 00:13:37 the match potatoes are no so nice and soft. You're really missing out because you can have the soft mashed potatoes, but also have a little nice little taste. Oh, interesting. Well, let me tell you, it is one of the greatest things I've ever had. I was, that was by far the best part of the best, I was like, I'm done. Best order of the day. I said, I'm done. I randomly had, like, it's, it was basically Boston. But there's no Boston markets in the city anymore. So I got like a knockoff Boston Market last night, but can't be Boston Market. Boston Market is good. But let me tell you, this bowl from, I didn't know it existed, and I've clearly been missing out my entire life because it is, it's thanks.
Starting point is 00:14:14 I did not know that existed either. Yeah, it's like Thanksgiving in a bowl. Like I'm, I'm thinking now, like, going forward, if I'm like, I'm like, I really want to like splur. Like, I want to eat, like, whatever the fuck I want, that's going to be my go-to. That's the cheat meal. It's unbelievably good. Are we running today? Yes
Starting point is 00:14:33 It's gonna rain, that's the only thing It's tough It's done raining I think it's supposed to rain later You gotta get yourself Like a treadmill or something There those are Very expensive
Starting point is 00:14:44 No, the thing I have The walking pad is Yeah, but can you run on that? No, but you could do a very brisk walk You have no one I feel like no it runs I feel like I just don't feel My heart doesn't start beating
Starting point is 00:14:57 If I walk If you do a very brisk walk for a good amount of time, it will start beating fast, trust me. Not a slow walk. Yeah. Yeah. But I can run for less time and feel more accomplished, you know? That's the thing, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Like walking, I would have to do much longer to make up for it. You know? Yeah, whatever. I'm not judging you. No, don't judge me. Walking is great. It is. And I won't feel judged for it.
Starting point is 00:15:23 All right. Let's get into the topics for today's show. We're going to be talking about Travis Scott. And Kylie Jenner and the rumors of his cheating and this side chick who has popped around many times over the years. She seems like she's been around for quite some time. She just keeps coming back. We talked about it back in 2019. So we'll be talking about it again. We also are going to do the full Midnight's review with Kelly Keegs and Bottleberg. And we have a great game of trivia. So let's get into it starting off with Travis Scott.
Starting point is 00:15:56 We were just talking about how much I love. shots. I don't know how much everyone else says, but I certainly do. And I said I would do a shot of anything, but something I love doing a shot of the most is Pink Whitney. We started out all of our shows doing a shot of Pink Whitney, and we ended our shows doing the same thing because there's no better way to get your night started than with Pink Whitney. It is Pink Lemonade and Vaca combined, a perfect little shot, perfect little pregame drink, or the perfect thing to order at a bar. You could make a drink with it, or you could just do a shot, like I said. So head of a little. So, over to your local bar, wherever you're going out that night, and make sure you try out Pink Whitney.
Starting point is 00:16:35 You can also pick up a bottle of Pink Whitney at your local liquor store as well. So make sure you're pre-gaming with Pink Whitney. Start your night and your night. Do it with Pink Whitney. This past weekend, there were cheating allegations against Travis Scott. Apparently, this girl, Young Sweet Row, is back in the mix. If you remember, we talked about this in 2019. She was posting a lot of things about Travis Scott and then Kylie stepped in and everyone was very confused about what was going on because I think that Kylie and Travis had broken up after that. But then it seemed like she was a stalker.
Starting point is 00:17:18 She showed up to Stormy's birthday party. Like there was just a lot going on at that time. And now it seems like she's back in the mix. She was posting from the set of Travis Scott music video that he was directing. And I cannot figure out for the life of me if I believe Travis Scott or if I believe this woman. Because she keeps popping up over and over again over the years. And I can't tell if she's a stalker or if Travis Scott is really making Kylie and everyone else feel crazy by saying that she is a stalker.
Starting point is 00:17:51 But yet he actually is meeting up with her on the side. And how dumb could he actually be if he would? was. That's why I'm finding this whole thing hard to believe. Well, him meeting up with her is not, for me, not hard to believe at all. Like, the idea of Travis Scott cheating is not hard for me to believe it's hard for me to believe it's hard for me to believe when it's this woman that's been a problem in the past. Like him, Travis Scott cheating. She, in her story, she was like, that wasn't me the last, like she had said like, I remember specifically it being her. Talking about like a mistress situation.
Starting point is 00:18:25 She was like, that wasn't me. It was her. If you look up all the articles from her from years ago, there was the same situation going on that she was at Stormy's birthday party. And everyone was like, what is this girl doing at Stormy's birthday party? Like, apparently she hooks up with Travis. So I don't think Travis got cheating is that crazy of a thing. I think Travis got cheating with this woman who has been brought up over the past few years
Starting point is 00:18:50 is what's crazy because how dumb can you be? Because this woman has been a problem before. the um and and and she does what so many people were doing was going back and looking at her instagrams and she has instagrams like with Travis she had one that is clearly Travis in the picture from like 2013 yes like it's like to me it feels like almost maybe she is a girl from his past they had a relationship and things now have maybe creeped into uncomfortable territory of her
Starting point is 00:19:31 showing up at things that she shouldn't be at. And now he's like, oh, I don't know her. But this is the thing. He loses a lot of credibility already, but he loses a lot of credibility when he posts saying, I don't know who this is, when he so clearly does know who it is.
Starting point is 00:19:50 You know? Right. He, like, tell the truth. Yeah. If you're like, I know this woman. Yeah. But I'm telling you I'm not with like... He literally, he wrote in his story.
Starting point is 00:20:00 It's a lot of weird shit going on. An uninvited person with sneaky photos on what was supposed to be a closed set while I was directing a video. I'm saying this for the last time. I don't know this person. I've never been with this person. So please stop with the continuous cyber games and the fictional storytelling. But he does know her. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:17 There's photographic evidence. Right. But it's unclear of how he knows her. Yeah, but you can't say I don't know. No, I, yeah. Yeah, no, obviously you can't say that when you clearly do. I don't know this person when here's a picture of you with this person. She, and you know what?
Starting point is 00:20:35 I also really don't like the way she talks about Kylie Jenner. Yeah, the whole thing is extremely bizarre. Like, she creeps me out. I'm not going to lie. She creeps me out because I just feel like she just kind of looks like I want to be Kylie Jenner. Did Kylie Jenner, I thought I saw a TikTok or something about her changing her. caption and like her original caption was kind of like shading this girl yeah there she had written something and like it was like in your dreams yeah and then she changed it to like i don't know
Starting point is 00:21:05 yeah yeah i just find the whole thing to be extremely bizarre because it's like this woman just keeps popping up and i just don't know how dumb you could be if you invited this woman to your set when you know that she's been a problem like that's what i'm finding her to believe. If this was another girl, I'd be like, yeah, Travis Scott definitely cheated because I don't think Travis Scott is like the most stand-up human being. But this whole thing, I think there's a lot to be uncovered with this woman. Yeah. She, and she mainly just because of the past years. Like, it's not just this was the first time this happened. Like, she has showed up to events before. Did she, I don't, I don't, I don't, she showed up at Stormy's birthday. Yeah, look up young,
Starting point is 00:21:54 Sweet Row. Stormy's birthday party. I don't, that's why there's, uh, this is all just about Stormy's birthday at that point. So, she also, in her Instagram stories, she claimed that she had said, Travis cheats on that bitch every single fucking night. It was just like a lot of rude language towards Kylie. I don't know if they have any connection. she claims that he was, they were at like some event on Valentine's Day and he was asking everybody around for her and like where was she asking for her.
Starting point is 00:22:45 She posted like screenshots of like this is where, um, posted screenshots of like a message being like, Travis asking for you. And then Travis posted a screenshot of his camera roll from February 14. It was like a table at home set for two. It's like if these two, he's like, if this wasn't where you were, like this is where I was on February 14th. She went back at him again, talking about him being at some party. So it's just really going back and forth over and over.
Starting point is 00:23:22 So I don't think. And then she keeps saying, I don't want to take this. I don't want to be doing this on the internet. Like that's not my life. like she does that like she her life's on the internet like my life's not it's like well you're you're putting your life on the yeah you clearly posted it and then she claimed that Travis wasn't that he she was like he wasn't even there anymore like when she went to the set it's like what you knew what you were doing I'm trying to I know for a fact she showed up to another event
Starting point is 00:23:52 I'm trying to find the pictures but I was literally reading about this last night and I remember talking about it in 2019. She definitely showed up to some occasion. Yeah. And everyone was like, this is really creepy that this woman is here. Yeah. And look, she is, she's definitely gained some Instagram following a little bit at this point, right?
Starting point is 00:24:20 Like, yeah. Yeah. I had, I looked, I was looking at her profile yesterday morning. She had 200,000 Instagram followers. She has 394. Right. I mean, it's clearly, you know, she's clearly getting followers, which is probably what she wants, even though she says that that's what Kylie Jenner does.
Starting point is 00:24:37 Yeah, exactly. So they're that, I don't know. It's, it's very bizarre. I don't trust Travis at all. So I wouldn't put it past him. I also think that I don't know, like, how exclusive Travis and Kylie's relationship is. You know, that that's been. put to question a lot in the last couple of years too that they're that they're very on and off
Starting point is 00:25:06 sometimes and you don't really know where they stand sometimes they're just like co-parents who have other stuff going on on the side when other stuff means Travis yeah well they were they were together the other night where they were they posted like date night oh no they're definitely like they've been posting a little bit lot, not a lot, but I would say, Kylie has definitely shared him often, I would say, in the last year or so. So there definitely could be,
Starting point is 00:25:42 now it does feel like that way, but I'm just saying in like the past couple of years, I feel like they have been on and off. So in that off time, who knows what he's doing? Okay. We're talking to at that point. In 2019, this woman said that Travis, gifted her a watch and then she was posting that
Starting point is 00:26:04 Yeah Oh I saw the picture of the watch She had shared that too People were going back at their Instagram That there's like a similar post Between Travis and her through the years She was at Sunday service One time
Starting point is 00:26:20 And then after that she showed up to Travis Scott's birthday party That Kylie threw for him That's what it was Was the Stormy's birthday party I was gonna say Stormy's birthday It would have been quite a scene. Right.
Starting point is 00:26:34 She showed up to Travis's birthday. Yeah, that makes more sense. She, yeah, I don't know. There is, this is the thing, like, I don't, you just never know what Travis is saying on the down low or telling people to tell her. Because she seems to have some. Well, we know he's not the breast. I know, but it's like, with this woman again, what's your attachment with her?
Starting point is 00:26:59 It's been a decade, right? I guess they have some history. Yeah. Like, but I think this girl has clearly been around for a very long time. Right, but it's just like, I don't know how dumb. I guess you could be pretty dumb. I know.
Starting point is 00:27:11 People are pretty dumb. Yeah. So maybe he can be this dumb. But I also think she's a problem. I think she's lying about some stuff too. I wouldn't go ahead and believe her right away either. There's, there's, this is, fails very messy in this situation. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:26 Where there is definitely some blurred lines, I would say. For sure. Like, I think. her reality is it could be a little different than you know what Travis than what Travis is thinking but perhaps she's like I said she gave it attachment
Starting point is 00:27:44 that picture I was going all all the way through her Instagram as opposed from 2013 like that is with Travis so maybe she was like on the early grind of Travis Scott like one of his early fans and it was like a meeting it was like a meet and greet oh no that's very funny It was like an intimate picture.
Starting point is 00:28:02 It looked like they had inside jokes. There were like other captions that related. You saw the picture. I know, I know. But, but yeah. That's like a fan fiction come to life. That's what I'm saying. You really never know.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Yeah. But, no, it got, it definitely got messy. Kylie is, I feel like normally above really jumping into the mix when this stuff happens. Yeah, people were talking about her. making that her caption. She, there was also a caption of Young Sweet Row.
Starting point is 00:28:40 Roe Jean is her name that she wrote. Young Sweet Row. That could be my mom's in serum. Her last post from October 12th was tell her to be me for Halloween since she wants you to love her so bad. Smiley face. Oh my God. See now that's just
Starting point is 00:28:57 evil. Like, that's just evil. No, I know. Like the way, the way like the way I gasped when I was watching her stories and she was like he's he's cheating on that bitch every fucking night I was like whoa whoa whoa whoa Hey come You can talk about Travis but I mean
Starting point is 00:29:17 She's the mother of his two children Come on be nice Well that's to me she sounds jealous of Kylie Yeah I don't know That's that's a messy situation I'm going with meet and greet Messy situation that she's held on to for 10 years.

All right, everyone, let's get into what everyone has been waiting for. This is our Taylor Swift Midnight's Listening Party without the listening part. We are just going to deep dive into every
Starting point is 00:31:28 song. What a joy. We are joined by Kelly Keeks and John Fidelberg to talk all about Taylor Swift's new album Midnights and on top of that, her 3 a.m. version as well. Hell yeah, Ria. I am as excited as you are.
Starting point is 00:31:45 I'm fucking amped up. I am pumped up. I waited all weekend for this. You stay up? 3 a.m. Yes. Yes, she did. Yes, I did. You think that she would miss a Taylor drop? Come on. As it. As is. Well, you know, I'll say this. I was hearing rumors that so 1989 is my favorite
Starting point is 00:32:02 Taylor Swift album. Said it many times before. It's actually one of my favorite albums ever. And I'm not like, you know, you guys know how I feel. Yeah. I'm not die hard like you guys, but I'll listen. One of my favorite albums ever. So I was hearing rumblings that this was going to be maybe a little reminiscent of that. So I was very excited.
Starting point is 00:32:18 So what do you think? Do you agree that it was? Well, why are we jumping right into my opinion? Well, I don't know. I liked it. Yeah. Hell yeah. Did it remind you of 1989 a little bit?
Starting point is 00:32:30 Some I could see. I think I need to listen to it a lot more because 1989 was an album that really grew on me because my best friend would drive to school and she would play the album over it and I'd have to listen to it
Starting point is 00:32:44 and then I yeah What a dream. I wish I was in that car I really do. And it really resonated with me at the time too so I was like I fucking loved this album
Starting point is 00:32:54 and we always she was such a big, swiftly, huge, like, the biggest, up there with you guys. Love it. And me and her would fight about it back and forth because I just wasn't that diehard and then I was like, let's play this fucking album over and over and over again.
Starting point is 00:33:11 So then I listened to this album and I liked it. I think I need to listen to it a bunch of times more to like really feel what you guys are feeling because I think you guys are actually fucking nuts. I do. I think you guys are nuts. Why? What tells you that? That we were walking on Target for three hours on Friday. Yeah, that's like a little. little sign.
Starting point is 00:33:27 That was tough. It's a tough scene. My thing with these albums and the drop is that immediately, immediately everyone's like, this is the best fucking thing ever. Without digesting every part of it, like for me, I have to digest the song and think about the lyrics. I need to hear one. I agree.
Starting point is 00:33:50 You guys hear one piano drop and it's boom, this is the best fucking thing ever. Plus plus plus. I can tell if I don't like it or not, but I do need a little time. Like after when everything came out on Friday, I had people two hours later being like, so what are your favorites? I'm like,
Starting point is 00:34:06 bitch, I listen to it once and like one and a half times through. Like I need to, I need a few days. I need to say, I did my like lyric breakdown on the blog and it still feels too soon for that. Like that's,
Starting point is 00:34:18 I don't rank them. Like I wouldn't rank a song right now. Like I have my favorites of the moment, but I change every day. Every hour I have a new favorite. Yeah, exactly. It just constantly changes. The songs are, like you said, you listen to them over and over again, and eventually
Starting point is 00:34:33 you start to like them. I feel like they, that's always how her albums are. Like, it's just kind of, they grow on you. You know what I mean? I think that, what was I just going to say? I just lost my train of thought. Oh, I feel it's better we're doing this on Monday rather than the day after it came out. For sure.
Starting point is 00:34:49 People have had a lot of time to listen to it all throughout the weekend. For sure. And I, after my first listen, wasn't like, Like I was like, I don't even know what I like. Yeah. Like or don't like. People, people, my fucking producer, your sister, Gia, didn't like it on first listen.
Starting point is 00:35:04 Me and Gia did just ask. But she's back around now? She's back around. Okay. She's back in. I've done that with plenty of Taylor songs where more recently, I think just because I like what she's done more recently, I'm very quick to be like, I love this. Like, this is very reactionary.
Starting point is 00:35:17 Midnights is my second favorite album, hers all the all time. Really? Folklore's one, midnight's two. Very reactionary. I understand that. Yeah. But currently I would have it. I have it ranked number two.
Starting point is 00:35:25 So did you like, I feel like the Lover album? I feel like you didn't really like that. I actually, I think that's something. I remember you like kind of being wishy-washy talking shit a little bit when it was coming out on Twitter and I remember being pissed off because I love the lover album. I've recently started to like it. I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:35:40 I just like really love it. It's nice to have a friend is one of my favorite television. Well, I'm going to bring that up again later because there's a song on here that reminds me of that. And I think of you because I know you love that song. Gia went to a Noah Con concert Thursday night. Dude, that album's good too. Exactly. Which is why I think like, when you're just why I think like, when you.
Starting point is 00:35:55 posted that, I was texting her too. I was like, I think you're coming off of a concert that you loved and was so good that now you're, it's too much of a shift. Yeah, yeah, yeah. To listen. I was like, go to sleep, try again tomorrow. Yes, completely. He's like, yeah, you're probably right, you're probably right. Completely. And that's what
Starting point is 00:36:13 that's what you have to do. And I will say my gut, my gut on this one was, and I think it's because she shifts. It's like folklore ever more. Same kind of sound. This was like, and then she does the re-releases, so then I have like the re-release in my head
Starting point is 00:36:34 because then I listen to those all over again. Yeah, it's like listening to Red so much. And then she does Midnights. And my first listen through, I was like, okay, I like it. I was probably like a little underwhelmed. I wasn't like, oh my God. Yeah. I would say it took me till Sunday.
Starting point is 00:36:55 to keep listening more, to be like, okay, there's definitely a lot that I like and some that I'm just kind of like on. Yeah. Yeah. The, I just... I have a feeling pretty mad on. The pop mix is kind of my favorite Taylor Swift.
Starting point is 00:37:11 I don't know, but I think because I was also used to the folklore evermore that it was a little bit of a shift, this is kind of a mix. I was going to say, I thought this was a perfect blend of all. Yeah, it is a mix. It's got like the heavier tones. But it made me, because when she does step into the pop more, when those songs happen, I'm waiting for like a big moment.
Starting point is 00:37:32 Yeah. And I don't musically know how to describe it. But like in an all too well, like screaming at the top of my love's moment. For a bridge, like a bridge that really just fucking gets me. You're like, what is it? You wrote in your notes, was it vigilante shit where you wrote like it was cool
Starting point is 00:37:47 and then you expected it to change? Yes. So I agreed with that. Because I liked it and I thought it was cool, but I expected like you said like a drop. Midnight rain. and mastermind, I kept thinking there was going to be like some massive like take me home bridge
Starting point is 00:38:00 that I would have lost it. Yeah, yeah. And it's still kind of changed, but I do very much like, I liked what I heard. When you guys listen to a new album of any artist or Taylor Swift, you then go back and listen to your favorite album from that artist. Like, did you go back and listen to,
Starting point is 00:38:18 did you say folklore was your number one? Did you go back and listen to folklore after this? No, I just had this on repeat. And I actually have, I spliced in some nookane to be honest, but I've had Midnights like I have issues where I just immediately go back to like yeah I listened to Midnights and then what I did was on Saturday I had to do a little bit of driving and so I was in the car and I was like that's I think the perfect way to listen to a new album is when you're in the car totally and then I started to really enjoy the songs because you just zone out you listen
Starting point is 00:38:43 but then I was listening through and I was like fuck I'm putting on 1989 and then I just jamming out because I was like oh it just like it just like reminds me of it's true it happened the same thing with Harry Siles when I listened to Harry's house and I still that one didn't grow on me like Taylor Swift's album which is shocking because I'm way more a Harry girl than a Taylor girl but immediately I went back to listen to Fine Line and I was like this is it
Starting point is 00:39:06 You're a fine line girl for sure I love Fine Line too I think fine line too I think fine that I think that the Hold on I figured I was my say This was no no she Okay so I do The album as a whole is very impressive because I do feel it to be very mature
Starting point is 00:39:22 Like it felt very I mean besides of course you throw like Karma and Vigilante you shit on there But it's all from different times Written from different times You kind of have to like play the guessing game And I do always just love when we get back to Songs that she writes about like herself
Starting point is 00:39:40 I know I love that too The folklore and The Evermore was like That's fun and I know she was like storytelling And all that stuff But this I'm like yeah let's get back to You can play a little bit of detective words Let's get back to the guessing game by a little bit of detective work.
Starting point is 00:39:52 Like how invested I am. Taylor TikTok has been wild. It's like it's actually criticism of Barstool a lot. Like oh, no one loves Barstall. Like Barstle loves Barstool because we do a lot of inner, you know, beef or whatever. And but like I love Taylor loving Taylor. Yeah. Same.
Starting point is 00:40:07 I love her confidence. With her fame, with her own, not mortality, but like her own inner self. When she gets introspective, her relationship with relationships, I'm fucking in. But the people love that. And you see how you said you love that? And then people say, well, no, nobody loves. The people love when people at Barcelona talk about the things here.
Starting point is 00:40:25 So it's sort of like that, Kelly, what were you going to say? I was going to say that similar to you driving and listening to an album, feeling good about it. When I was walking over to meet with you and Pavs to go down to Target, that's like the first time I was walking outside with the problem in my ears and I was like, oh, fuck yes. I was like, no, this is good.
Starting point is 00:40:41 Totally different setting. Right, at that moment, right, at that moment I was listening to Labyrinth, which is like just not so fast, not so upbeat, but a little bit of like a heart wrenching like oh no I'm afraid to fall in love situation and I just ooh I loved it when you can put yourself when you can use that music as the backdrop
Starting point is 00:40:57 to the movie of your life. Yes. Particularly when you walk out of New York City I'm a fucking movie story. That was that in my headphones walking away. Also had that in my headphones walking any song named Labyrinth is guaranteed to be a good song. Love it. Love the word labyrinth. Love
Starting point is 00:41:13 the movie with David Bowie. Yes I was going to say the David Bowie movie. Of course. Should we go through songs? Let's go top. No, probably not going to grade them, but we'll, we can talk about them. I think at the end we can give our rank, like, I think we can give like our top. Top three, top five. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:41:31 I think that's the easier way to do it. I agree with that. Because I find it very hard to like grades. I agree. Speaking of grades, this got a seven on pitchfork, which is basically a hundred. Yeah. Oh, really? I didn't see.
Starting point is 00:41:44 This album has maybe been one of her most, and it's hard because it feels like they're also critically Like it's like all The reviews are always good Like I don't know if she's really put out a stinker like ever And it's actually insane She's put out so many studio albums And every time Like it is so critically praised
Starting point is 00:42:01 I mean I see Pitford give like a lot of ones and two The same I usually don't even bother with pitchfork Me neither But then I was like well I gotta see Well now they don't get up Here they finally know what they're talking about So I feel like this is kind of Hypocrical to say because I feel like it's kind of the case
Starting point is 00:42:19 for a lot of artists, but sometimes when I listen to Taylor's songs, I'm like, they all kind of sound the same to me, right? Like, they just all have a similar sound, but then I think about, oh, I love rap. Okay, how many of Drake's songs sound alike. That's the exact comparison I was going to make. Like, I don't really like Drake that much. So everything, I don't dislike Drake, but just it's not an genre music I put on that often.
Starting point is 00:42:42 And like, every time a Drake song comes on, I'm like, I've heard this song 10 million times before. Yeah. Right. So I feel like either way, that's why. Exactly, but he is coming out with an album on 5 of the 21 Savage, which I'm saying. I know everyone's dying to do a listening party for that. Obviously, obviously.
Starting point is 00:42:56 I like the fact that, oh my God, I keep forgetting what I'm saying. Yes. What did you just say? I just said about how I think that a lot of Taylor's songs sounded like, but I'm, but I am acknowledging the fact that I think it's the same for other very popular. I totally agree. And I think that they all kind of like intertwine. Like, I feel like there are bits and pieces of each song that like you could pick
Starting point is 00:43:17 them out and put them all in a line. and they would make like one of the other songs she has. I also like that a lot of her songs are kind of not predictable, but predictable. Like I feel like whenever I'm listening to them, it's easy to learn and memorize her lyrics, her songs, whatever, because they, like, after the first chorus, I can, like, sing along. Yeah, yeah. I feel like I can guess where this is going to go and it feels this. Does this sound silly that I also feel like that comes from it being just her, like, voice? You know, you know?
Starting point is 00:43:46 Oh, it could be. Yeah. Like, that's just her sound. her sound. I could see that, right. She sounds the same. She uses Jack Antonoff and she's like. Yeah, yeah. I think it's just like
Starting point is 00:43:56 a lot of the beats or I don't even know what you would call it. But that's like that comes from where Fights is saying like she works with so many of the same producers that yes. Like you can tell like the Jack Antonoff
Starting point is 00:44:12 has a sound. Like Midnight Rain was maybe one of the only songs where I was like, oh, start different. You know what I mean? Like it didn't start how it usually does. We'll get to what I'm sure, but like a question we can answer later. Do we know who is
Starting point is 00:44:26 singing that beginning of Midnight Rain and who sings that? I was like, is that Taylor? I think it's just her. It must say I love it. It's like I love it. Yeah. It's like sexy a little bit. Exactly. Like it sounds different. I was like, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I like it. I think it's just her and it's the same one like that it kind of changes in Labyrinth too.
Starting point is 00:44:42 Yeah, yeah. I think it's just her just like it must be. Right. Okay, we can let's go through them. There's obviously she put out 13 songs and then bam she hit us with seven more songs at 3 a.m., which was just like, I will, I did not stay awake. And when I woke up, I was just like, there's seven more songs. Keith and I had plans to go to that, uh, that target at the Tribeca Target. There were rumors that.
Starting point is 00:45:04 Who told you that? Uh, I got a DM. And it was somebody who was like, my sister's friend works at Target. Like, it sounds crazy. I know. It sounds like, why are you listening to this person? But I replied and I was like, oh, shit, for real? Are you trolling?
Starting point is 00:45:17 And they're like, no, no. Wait, are you lying to me? You have to tell me. I know if you're a stranger, you're going to tell me. They're like, no, seriously. Was it a girl or guy? It was a guy talking about his sister. But then when we got there...
Starting point is 00:45:29 Usually I trust the girls. I would trust the girls too, but I looked through his Twitter. He seemed trust me. So then I was like, all right. So I, in my head, I'm like, all right, am I really going to get up at 8 in the morning? First of all, I never get up at it. You guys know, what is this? I had to be here at 1030 today, and it's like, I, it's, whoop, my brain's on.
Starting point is 00:45:47 And so I'm like, 8 a.m. Okay, I sent it to him being like, oh, shit. And he's like, wow, we're going, blah, blah. And in my head, I'm like, yeah, right, we're not going. And then I sent it to my other friends. And they were also super hype about it. They're like, let's fucking go. They all bailed.
Starting point is 00:46:01 And then he was like, oh, Pavs is coming also. We'll, like, make a video out of it. I was like, all we're for sure going. And in my head, I'm like, I don't know if this is real or not. Like, this is just all this could be a disaster. Also, I expected. There were people that did show up. Like, there were other girls there being like, we took a train.
Starting point is 00:46:17 from Connecticut at 5 a.m. Like people... There were, I will get keys it. There were other people there waiting as well. There were other people who heard the same rumor that were not us. I took a picture with you. I texted Kelly in the morning and was like, how's it going? I said, are there a lot of people there?
Starting point is 00:46:31 Because in my mind, I didn't know the background of how she came to find out this information. So in my mind, I'm thinking like crowded streets. Like so in a lot. There was no one? So I said, I was distraught. Are there a lot of people there? She was, yeah, there's a lot.
Starting point is 00:46:45 Probably like 15. You know, like, I was like, that's a huge exaggeration. That was not. That is not. No, it is not. Later in that more people came. I also see it. For the first two hours, it was just us.
Starting point is 00:46:56 I hate that target. That used to be my target. Oh, yes. And I hate that target. And we know every square inch of it now. And the people there's a time that's confusing in there. No thing is where you think it's supposed to be. I will say that.
Starting point is 00:47:07 Like, now I know where everything is on the target. But like, we were first walking around it. The flow. The flow was off. Right. But also when we got there, we had, I think we blurred the woman face out in the video. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:17 But I jokingly, like, for the video, I asked, like, excuse me, is Taylor Swift here? And the woman, and I kind of just kept it moving. So, like, I was just, you know, I thought no chance she gives an actual reply. Yeah. And she, like, looked at the camera and if you see, like, the unblered version, she's like, I'm not laughing at you. Like, she, like, made a face. She was like, well, and then he was like, ah, please, like, whatever.
Starting point is 00:47:38 I was like, no, no. And I said, oh, are you laughing at us? And she was like, no, I'm not laughing at you. And then me and Pat, he had already been walking away. and Pavs and I saw it and I was like Did you fucking see that? And he's like, I saw it and I'm convinced she's coming. Yeah, once Pav's got on board
Starting point is 00:47:51 Pads like she is coming. Wait, why though was she supposed to be going? What was the, why did they say? I guess she lives like two, her new apartment's like two blocks away from that target and I guess somebody called ahead and said like she might stop by to get her new album because she does that.
Starting point is 00:48:07 She goes to a target, she buys it and then she takes pictures usually with her mom. It's usually also like in Nashville. Like I feel like it's, she does that every time she has a new album. And so they thought, well, she's in New York She's one block away She's probably coming here
Starting point is 00:48:18 And they were preparing for it They were there were security around Like they were all walking talking and talking to each other No joke We're not it was... For an hour, Kiggs was panicking that we were going to get kicked out I was like Kelly, first of all, you're buying something We're holding we are literal customers
Starting point is 00:48:35 We're not just like kind of sitting here We were loitering bad Like we were loitering obviously But we weren't loitering, we were shopping That happened to target all the time We were walking and looking at stuff I was saying though like in my head I'm like you know what
Starting point is 00:48:46 that's a great place to wait around for somebody though you can get really distracted at a target there's so many things to look at yeah there's lots we were pretty good but then I smelled every candle smelled every lotion think about the amount of people who have been in a Tribeca in the Tribeca target who have been just derelicts
Starting point is 00:49:01 and genuine homeless people yeah and Kelly's walking around with a Taylor Swift CD and nice jacket and like they're going to kick us out I assure you that I'm going to kick you out they were talking shit about us The people that were working there were getting frustrated by all the tiny groups of two or three walking around in circles waiting to see if Taylor Swift is coming. They were talking shit. And I kept saying that to them.
Starting point is 00:49:23 And they're like, you're crazy, you're crazy. Like, you're not a little kid. Like, they're not going to kick you out of the store. Like, you feel like you're going to get in trouble at school. I was like, no. Loitering. And then later, we talked to one of the other girls and the other girls were like, oh, my God. Yeah, the people here are like so pissed that we just keep walking around.
Starting point is 00:49:37 I'm like, thank you. That's exactly what I'm saying. I could hear them talking shit about us. It was hilarious how easy it was for us to convince ourselves that something was going down. Like there would be like three employees like rearranging like the same crack. I've been there. I've done that before. We're like, look, look, they haven't moved in like 10 minutes.
Starting point is 00:49:52 I bet she's going to come through that door. And it's like, no, it's three 20-year-olds who are fucking off at work. And they're also bored. Right. They reorganize the shelves so many times. They're just doing it again. It's 9 a.m. They're just, they have nothing to do.
Starting point is 00:50:05 But they were perfectly positioned to like see the, the midnight's, you know, racks, whatever they had up with the CDs on. Do you guys know who the lookalike Ashley is on? Oh my God, no. I've only seen that. I've seen her. Okay, so I think she walked outside of the target. Of ours? I think she might. People are right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Squatters rights. I love that it's ours. And people were like outside and they were like, oh my God, it's Taylor. And then somebody screamed, it's just Ashley. No, it's Ashley. And now it's the thing going around on TikTok being like, it's just Ashley.
Starting point is 00:50:43 I mean, she looks exactly fucking like her. She looks exactly like her. She doesn't on purpose, right? I saw that she's a coslayer. Like a real estate agent or somebody like gave her a tour of her, the old Cornelius Street apartment. What? Because she like looks just like her. Right.
Starting point is 00:50:55 Well, Taylor has acknowledged her because I think Taylor said like my mom showed me whatever. Okay. I think she did very much look like her. But now she walks around like with red lipstick on. Oh, well, you know, like, she's playing into it. Mitch, would you have been wearing red lipstick if you didn't know Taylor Swift or Red lipstick? The only person who wears red lipstick out in the streets is Taylor Swift. Right.
Starting point is 00:51:16 So, nobody just wears Red lipstick. Right. So she's really difficult to keep on your lips. No, when's the last time you saw somebody wearing Red Lipsk? I don't know. I guess I've really been conscious of. I don't really notice anyone's lips. Just in a flannel, like, I'm throwing out of my flannel and red lipstick.
Starting point is 00:51:29 I didn't know that was the thing that you did. Honestly, God, I would say all three of you have red lipstick on right now. Are you? Okay. All right, let's get it. John doesn't know... My looks in never looks paler in my life. He's saying I'm going to have red-lid.
Starting point is 00:51:45 We'll establish there's some colorblind is going on. I'm sorry about that. We'll get you those glasses. I mean, it's not the red-red, but I would say you all three have red lipstick on. No. I don't think any of us are wearing lipstick. I have nothing on this.
Starting point is 00:51:56 So much so they're so chappicky, bite them. Oh, I'm saying, it's my biggest nightmare. People looking at my lips having the white stuff on it. Like, we're so close. I'm like, I was on my lips pussy. Right. And then I go like this and I was, oh. Okay, guys.
Starting point is 00:52:10 Songs. Thanks, Fran. Songs. Lavender Hayes is number one. Zoe Cravitz is credited on this song. Yeah, that's wild. So you know, when I heard that Zoe Kravitz was, I've had way more to say on this than I thought.
Starting point is 00:52:24 Before you guys came in, I was like, I'm just going to sit there and not talk. You tried to get out of it. Yeah, you try to get out of it out of here. I thought that Zoe Kravitz was going to be the writer on high infidelity because of her show. Great show. Oh, true. I love that. that show.
Starting point is 00:52:38 Love that show. That's good, though, right? Yeah, that's a good thought. Good observation. I like that. Not bad, not bad. Has Zoe Krabb's ever done anything in music before? Obviously, she comes from a very musically talented family.
Starting point is 00:52:48 But does she have, like, other credits? Was it just like, uh... I'll be honest. I'm not, I'm not sure. I just assumed she did and didn't do the research for that. Because I just was like, oh, well, Zoe. I don't, I think someone tweeted me, like, one other song she was in. But I don't think she has, like, she was, like, featured, I think.
Starting point is 00:53:04 Yeah. But I don't think she has any of her own music. I'm not so sure either Lavender Hayes is ones where It's right at the top of the album I feel like And I was very deep in Taylor TikTok So like I just have conspiracies
Starting point is 00:53:17 Of the Wazoo really And the Gaylor Fan base Of course Really thought Lavender Hayes was like gonna be Gay Taylor like a big Gay Taylor shit Yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:53:30 You haven't seen that hashtag No I don't know That Gaylor is it thing I put it together But I was like What the fuck is Gaylor? I was like, is France? Is saying this right now?
Starting point is 00:53:39 Like, I was like, wait a second. That's literally like there's a whole community. Well, everyone says like lavender's the bisexual color. Like, people say that. So people are really holding on to Taylor Swift having multiple relationships. It bothers me a little. Like currently or how much, you know, like talking about it all the time. When she doesn't, she always has said, like, I don't really want to talk about that.
Starting point is 00:54:01 Like, she said it a billion times. I don't really want to talk about it. And people still do it anyway. I think if people really hold on to her having multiple female relationships in the past, and they're like, Taylor Swift is gay. But it's like, she has never said it. They do the same thing to Taylor Swift that they do is Sean Mendez. And also Harry Seiles.
Starting point is 00:54:19 And Harry Seiles, yeah. I think there also is something to, though, like, I completely understand, like, I don't want to talk about it. Yeah. But there is a, I don't want to say give up the right, because that's not the case at all. But when you talk about everything ever, I get being like, this is the one I just want myself. But people aren't used to that. And all her song lyrics, I think that people are always trying to interpret into that. And then did you see Carly Claus' TikTok that was showing up on everyone's for you page?
Starting point is 00:54:45 She has never shown up on my for you page before. And she did the other day. She was wearing a midnight blue dress. And it was, and then every comment on time was like, oh, my gosh, she's filming a video. She's filming a video with Taylor Swift. That's Taylor's laugh. Like people are so convinced. She was posting.
Starting point is 00:55:04 Is it Carlis Claus married? Yes. Yeah, she's married, yes. She's married to a Kushner. And she just, yeah, and she just posted, like, it was their anniversary the other day. Yeah. She just posted, like, this big, staff of the anniversary. Which is why people are really holding on to question is the other one that they thought.
Starting point is 00:55:17 Yeah. About Carly Coles. I don't think at all. I love that song. I like you very much, but it's just. It's for crazy girls. It's so much. Can I just ask you a question?
Starting point is 00:55:27 Yeah. That song is for crazy girls. No, no, you can't ask you question. Who are fishing for information. and I fucking love it. Wait, wait. Even the way she just says like that it's just a question. Like, no, it wasn't.
Starting point is 00:55:39 It wasn't. It wasn't. It's never. It's never just a question. I have something to say about lavender. Yes. Go ahead. This,
Starting point is 00:55:45 one of the lyrics in the song, the, and you don't really read into my melancholia. Love, love the use of melancholia here. Love any sort of melancholy, melancholia. Are you noticing? Also in the teaser trailer that she's just dipping right into that Bridgeton type, Marie Antoinette, vibe and melancholia
Starting point is 00:56:06 the movie starring Kirsten Dunst I just feel like it all There's a movie? You don't know the movie Melancholia? No. Oh it's fabulous it's sad It's a sad movie but it's good. I love Melancholy is a sad one? Yeah melancholy is a sad one When you say fabulous I'm like Damn it's good yeah no it's good
Starting point is 00:56:23 Melancholy is good but yeah it's another like old century type type movie yeah and that's how movie with Kirsten Dunst that you always recommend Maria Antoinette probably Well, I don't know. Oh, maybe The Virgin Suicides. I fucking love that movie.
Starting point is 00:56:37 Yes, yes. Yes, yes. Movies so good. I actually think I watch it. Anyways. Oh, it's so good. I will say, like, Lavender Hayes is growing on me more or more after the first listen I was like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:49 The first listen I was like, yeah. The first listen, to me, it felt very much like her single. Her single was always like the worst song on the album. It was when my first listen to this, I was like, oh, that's the single that she just never put out. because this is not good. But it's also very much grown on me as well. I also like from this too. All they keep asking me is if I'm going to be your bride,
Starting point is 00:57:10 the only kind of girl they see is a one night or a wife. So she's just sick. She's sick of these boxes they keep putting her in. She's sick of the traditional bullshit. She was jumping around. Now she's been in this relationship for too long. When's she's going to be get married? Yep.
Starting point is 00:57:26 Can't just live in a lot of jail. People love to go. People love, I think especially fans, love to go to her past relationships. And I know she said, like, oh, I wrote these songs are really different times in my life. But so many people jumped. She's been in this relationship for six years.
Starting point is 00:57:42 A lot of material. But they jumped to like, Tom Hiddleston, Taylor Lottner, like, all these like old relationships that I'm like, how many songs are she writing about? Is she wasting a single brother? Exactly. Not a fucking trans. I'm like, realistically, how many Taylor Lottner songs
Starting point is 00:57:58 did she have in the vault that she needs? I bet it's zero. I can't imagine. he's ever peaked any sort of real emotion. Yes. This is the first... Unbelievable. Wait, shoot, I was going to say.
Starting point is 00:58:11 Oh, this is the first album where I realized that... Maybe it's because I'm dumb. That Joe Alwyn is a dude. I just thought he was like a guy. I didn't know he's like the dude. Oh, like he's cool? Like you didn't realize how cool he was? Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:58:24 Well, that's on you. It's been very clear how fucking cool is. I got... Honestly, before... He's so great. How did you get that from this album, though? Like, first of all, I really like the song he co-wrote And then just, I've been like following like the Taylor Twitter
Starting point is 00:58:38 To the pictures. I'm like, oh, that dude's handsome. He's so hot. Did you not see the favorite? No. Oh, my God, I swear. Wait, wait. I hated that movie, I think.
Starting point is 00:58:48 Is that the one with Emma Stone? Yes. I'm not surprised. That doesn't seem like your genre. I fucking hated that. Yorgos Lantamos. I fucking love a Yorgos movie. He was also in, what's the Hulu show?
Starting point is 00:58:58 Oh, my God, conversations with friends. Conversations with Friends? I haven't seen that one. one that's the fault to know people right yes yeah the way you said that was like it was one of your I know I know I know the book I haven't watched that one no yet you have not seen it yet no I haven't he's the he's like the star oh okay you got today today you got to watch it okay you're gonna ooh I love him yeah John's leaving with a lot of homework yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah did you watch normal people oh it's soul crushing it's unbelievable yeah I feel like you don't
Starting point is 00:59:27 like you don't always love like the sad stuff though I don't like being sad I'm very happy yeah yeah yeah it's not always your vibe yeah yeah yeah it's not always your Sarah, so she's told you to watch Melancholia, something called the Virgin Suicides. I do lots of Verses Suicides, though. And that is a good movie. That's just a good movie. That's like a 90s movie or late 2000s movie, whatever. But Kirsten Dunst, they're like the
Starting point is 00:59:44 She has three sisters, four sisters, whatever it is, and they all like kill themselves. Like it's a whole thing. Oh, right. You're right. Yeah. No, that's a good movie, though. It's a really good movie. It's, you would like it. All these things that I'm suggesting, I know that you like. Of course. You know I like a period piece. That's what I'm saying. A period piece.
Starting point is 01:00:01 That's more so what I meant. I love a period piece. I hate you. I love anything. A bunch of shit that already happened. Maroon is number two
Starting point is 01:00:10 that immediately brought the I was like, yeah, I was like, okay, this is and there's just something I love that she sticks with the shade of red. Me too, me too. I love that. You know Maroon is my favorite color of all time?
Starting point is 01:00:22 It always has been. Really? That's my number one color is maroon. And it's tough in the summertime because it's like, oh. No, maroon doesn't really play in the summer. Yeah, no. But that's why I love fall so much for Maroon.
Starting point is 01:00:31 Very gruffin. And, yeah. Also, like, if I were to describe you in one color would be maroon. I love that. Wow. I'm going to cry. With this, with this song, I, um. What color would you describe me as?
Starting point is 01:00:45 I don't know. I'm trying to think. Either like a, like a powerful color. Like a real, like a primary color. Maybe like a blue. I was going to say navy blue. Yeah. Like a, but like a true blue.
Starting point is 01:00:57 I never really looked at myself as a blue. Not a navy. I don't think I would do navy. I think I'd either like true blue or like a. Maybe lavender No I was a joke about I have to think about it
Starting point is 01:01:11 Okay let me know A bold color When I was younger I would try to be different And say that my favorite color Was baby blue I mean That was very popular for my group
Starting point is 01:01:20 It was baby blue Baby blue Of course baby blue People also like People also like Like unse Like indigo Yeah of course
Starting point is 01:01:26 Turquoise I should love indigo Yeah Turquoise please Maroon I loved Baroon. I love the...
Starting point is 01:01:33 Justice for Screwtop Roseh by the way. Scrootop Roseette? No, it needs no justice. There was some... There's some Harry people thought maybe Harry
Starting point is 01:01:43 or Tom Hiddleston. I think it's very much like a song about... It's like a quick, fast... She's got New York in it. She's got New York in it. Quick fast romance that like Burn Bright die young like first time we're hanging out.
Starting point is 01:01:56 It's like, whoa this is fun and cute and cool. Screw Top Rosee. We're laying on the ground. Like we're crazy. And then a couple weeks later it's like this fucking sucks. Yeah, let's get out of here. I think everyone's got one of those relationships.
Starting point is 01:02:07 I'm stacking up a couple. I thought I had my feel, not quite. I liked the, in the chorus, she says, the rust that grew between telephones. Yeah, that's a cute. I love that. So was it the rust that grew? The rust that grew between telephones.
Starting point is 01:02:23 I love that. Just like, you know, you're on the phone all the time. Just imagining that line, you're always in communication. But then rust wouldn't grow. Yeah, but it's like being... Because Rust is unused. That's a good point. I was just thinking...
Starting point is 01:02:38 Right, meaning like they're not gonna... He's not calling. Oh, okay, okay. So it's after the relationship. I see now. Oh, yeah. I was singing during. Like halfway through with us.
Starting point is 01:02:45 I also liked the line of carnations you had thought were roses. That's us. I kind of... I feel like guys will get carnations for girls sometimes thinking like, oh, these are pretty flowers and it's like a carnation. Yeah. But I've tried to, in my head, change the narrative on carnations.
Starting point is 01:03:02 because now I feel bad for them, you know? Like, I feel like everybody kind of talks shit like they're a white trash flower, but I think I like them. Are carnations like a death flower? I think that they might be something. Yeah, they're like a, they're like a memoriam. They get a bad rap.
Starting point is 01:03:13 They get a bad rap. Yeah, yeah. They get a bad rap. But I liked that carnations that you thought were roses. That's us being like, you know. All right, look, I was, I was ready to defend whoever this was. If you think a carnation is a rose, you're the dumbest person alive.
Starting point is 01:03:27 Oh, no, I know. But it's like you see a pretty, honestly, though, guys are stupid. Guys are so done. I've seen those before. I mean, I've seen this flower, but never have I thought. Yeah, I just don't know flowers, a lot of flowers. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 01:03:39 I know the best. I know the top five. Well, exactly. Yeah, you think. But that's what I'm saying. But I also like the cheek knowledge is like, oh, that's us. Like, it's just, it's not perfect. It's not so romantic.
Starting point is 01:03:47 It's not like, there's not a lot of thought into it. You just, like, went to the bodega and got me carnations. Yeah, these are the best kind of relationships. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They are. I, I love Antihero.
Starting point is 01:03:58 I just feel like that is her most. I mean, come on. Introspective songs she's ever written. Come on, my friend. My friend. He has to me. And the music video was so good. When you were saying, and I guess, the bridge, I guess, isn't really so anthemic or whatever
Starting point is 01:04:13 you want to say, like, you don't really get to scream it. Anthemic. But the, the chorus itself is, is flawless. It's just, it's really good. It's just perfect. It's really good. And this is the song that, you know, to speak about me again, as usual. This is all my friends keep texting me about being like, wow, Kelly, like this song is so yours, whatever, because she says the whole beginning is very much like just, should I would say, like, midnight's become my afternoons.
Starting point is 01:04:45 I'm fully awake at like it's the middle of the afternoon, midnight, every day. Like, it's just that my depression works the graveyard shift. All the people I have ghosts that are standing there in the room. Like, it's just, I love the imagery of it. And yes, we got the music video for the song. And I think that helped a little bit with it. but I still really I don't know
Starting point is 01:05:02 I love how it how we're supposed to picture it I also like the I'll stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror fucking like I like what you said the self-awareness of this
Starting point is 01:05:12 it's like crazy everything everything in this song I think is very relatable which I think is such a funny thing where I think like people get like and I'm guilty of the same thing with them like oh this song is so me yeah yeah
Starting point is 01:05:25 it's like we do it with every song and it's like maybe just the human experience isn't that unique. I think that all the time, I'm like, I have never had an original experience. I'm like, fuck. Like, I've got this is unique to me, but then also you feel comforted. And I start getting competitive too.
Starting point is 01:05:41 I'm like, no, no, no, you guys. Like, this song is, this song is about me. You can't sing it. You don't relate to it as much as I do. Like, I understand, like, you like it's about me. There's just so many lines where you hear it, you hear her say and you're just like, how did she the, the, um,
Starting point is 01:05:58 how do you put them into words? narcissism, altruism, congressman, you're like, how do you... Do you detect my covert narcissism? I disguise as altruism. I disguise as altruism, like some kind of congressman. It's like, how did
Starting point is 01:06:11 you think of that? It's amazing. It's amazing. I love that line too, and I feel like I need to shut that it down a couple of people's throats. Altruism is like one of my least favorite things in the world. Like, I feel like you can just you can tell when someone's being fake as fuck when they're trying to act like they're doing something nice for other people or doing
Starting point is 01:06:27 something nice for like charity or the world or whatever. drives me. We're talking about that pre-show, I believe. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, we did we? Oh, we did. Yes, we did.
Starting point is 01:06:36 The, but, like, just like, I also, I think the most relatable part of this song is she's acknowledging all her problems, but she's never really talking about fixing him. Oh, no. She's also, she's also not really like, sorry about it. Yeah, it's like, well, it's me. Hi, I'm the problem. Yeah, yeah. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:06:50 I love that. Yeah. I love that acknowledgement, but not an apology. Yeah, right? Yeah. Yeah. I'm, I'm working on it. I'm working on it.
Starting point is 01:06:58 It's like, I'm going to get them. There's like I'm aware of my problems. I'm aware of the worst parts of me. I'm fine with them. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And there are parts of it too where again like you relate to even workwise where it's like a lot of it she's like this must be so tiring for you guys to like like me still. Yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Right. Right. You fucking see. You guys. You guys have always a long time. Must be exhausting. Always reading for the any hero.
Starting point is 01:07:25 Do you just say that? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, snow on the beach is for. I think the joke here is that everyone, like Lana Del Rey's featured on the song, but everyone's like, where is Lana Del Rey featured on the song? She is a part of the chorus, allegedly. I like when Taylor Swift says the F word.
Starting point is 01:07:42 Me too. I love a shit. I'm always out. I almost crush my car. What? When the trackles came out and they were, what, five or six explicit tags? I was like, oh, damn, girls going in.
Starting point is 01:07:53 There's a couple of, I was a lot of mine, too. It was almost like... What was the folklore? I think she did a lot of, like, shit and bitch. and like those things, maybe like one fuck. This one, every album is like, what's all the whole time? In Holf course, she also has the most, like, easily misunderstood lyric of all time
Starting point is 01:08:06 where it's like, she says something like, it's not fuck your mouth, but it's, it's close. Are we talked about this last? It's close to, like, didn't we talk about this? I'm gonna find it. Did we talk about this and did we say like, that's only you? No, it's not only me. It's not only me. It is.
Starting point is 01:08:21 I don't remember. Snow on the beach was, eh, for me. I don't like snow on the beach. I had such high expectations because it's Lana Del Rite and Taylor & Taylor. Yeah. I know. I wanted, yeah, same. I wanted to be torn apart.
Starting point is 01:08:32 Yeah, yeah. Me too. Me too. I just wasn't. But also the lyric, I love the. It's kind of a nice song. Yeah, it's fine. It's a fine song.
Starting point is 01:08:39 I listened to it and I was like, I had way higher expectations. Same. Way higher expectations. And now currently it's just, it's, I'm not saying like I'm skipping the song. I still like it. You know, snow on the beach.
Starting point is 01:08:53 Yeah. We're the fucking. Yeah. Like, that's fine. But it's, I just am not loving it. You know, I was expecting. The lyrics on the dark right. ballad.
Starting point is 01:08:59 Me too. Like something really, you know. Deep. Like a, well, used to love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful shit. Yes, that's, yeah. Exactly. That's what I wanted a line like that. That's in the great Gatsby movie.
Starting point is 01:09:11 I know. Great soundtrack. Also, I do love the lyric, though. The, just like the weird but fucking beautiful. Because I can see just so many girls capturing that. For sure. Aren't weird at all. You're not being insulted.
Starting point is 01:09:26 You're not weird. You're totally fucking normal. It's like weird but fucking beautiful. It's like, no. Not that weird. No, you're totally normal. It's fine. Nothing about you as original.
Starting point is 01:09:38 Does she? Okay, here it is. It's a, do you see my face in the neighbor's lawn? Does she smile or does she mouth fuck you forever? And the way she says. Does she mouth fuck you forever? Yeah. It's like mouth fuck.
Starting point is 01:09:52 What the hell is that on? It's Mad Woman on Vocalore. Yeah, so we did talk about that when we, Yeah. Does she mouth fuck you? Yeah. You're on your own kid. Does she mouth fuck you?
Starting point is 01:10:11 You're on your own kid is track five, which historically she always puts, you know, a sad song for track five. That's one of my favorites. It's sad. I cry. Yeah. You're on your own kid is, it's a beautiful song. It definitely feels like if I had to guess one that was written years ago. Totally.
Starting point is 01:10:26 It feels like a. Or even just like looking back at her journey. For sure. It's very, I feel I take from it that the premise of it is that she's kind of like always going after people. She's always fighting for their attention, fighting for their love. And she just never quite gets it. Like despite what she does, she's always misreading a situation. She's not like, she thinks people are in love with her and they're not.
Starting point is 01:10:49 And that's kind of how she grew up. And that's why now she tries so fucking hard because it's like nobody was paying attention back then. And it almost seemed like business like. And I relate. About me. And it's again. About me. It almost felt like there was some, like, business undertones to it, too, of just, like,
Starting point is 01:11:06 getting into the music business and giving herself to, like, all these people and working her ass off and then not getting, like, they're just kind of like, oh, yeah, good for you. Right. It's not, like, a big reward. We didn't discuss something really important about anti-hero. I just noticed it when I went to go scroll, the sexy baby line. Yeah. Do you guys have a problem with it?
Starting point is 01:11:28 Is it confirmed, like a joke from 30 Rock? It is a joke from 30 Rock. Sometimes, sometimes I feel like everybody is a sexy baby. No, I know the line, but what's the joke from 30 Rock? I don't know. I watched it. It's a scene, I watched it. It's a scene with one of the blonde girls. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:43 And she's wearing pigtails. And she said, like, you look like a sexy baby or something. Yeah, okay, okay. The girl said, I am a sexy baby. Okay, love that. Correct. I liked the clip from, like, maybe toddlers and tiaras where the guy was like, you little sexy baby.
Starting point is 01:11:57 Come here. It was hilarious. I thought it was pretty straightforward of what she meant. And I don't know why everyone's freaking out about it. Same. I thought everybody was like, everybody's freaking to fuck out. I thought it was very clear. Everyone was like this is so weird. I thought it was very clear.
Starting point is 01:12:09 Like she feels like everyone's like so like cute and sexy and she's like either, you know, she's like really tall and whatever or because she's like the most famous person in the world. You tweeted. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. She's never like cute and small in a room. Yeah, yeah, right, right. That's true. I relate. You're on your own kid.
Starting point is 01:12:27 Back to that. The line that I love the most from here, and I want to tell myself, it's like a nod to Greece is just that I see the great escape. So long, Daisy May, I pick the petals. He loves me not. And in my head, I'm like, goodbye to Sandra D. No? Like, that's just how I feel. I don't know if Taylor's a Greece fan.
Starting point is 01:12:46 I don't know if that matters. But, like, the whole message behind that is, like, oh, I'm leaving my innocence and my, like, youthful ignorance and whatever behind. And I am, like, I have to grow up now. I thought about this. I have to focus on my work. I have to grind my shit and get it done. I get that very much. For some reason, when I hear listen to a song,
Starting point is 01:13:05 I grab one line and I'm like, okay, and I just create a whole story around that. Sure, yeah. And like, for some reason, this song I was thinking about, like, it's like leaving the person you, like, if you're from your hometown, who like you would have stayed for. You love to make a song about a hometown.
Starting point is 01:13:21 Yeah, yeah. That's your favorite thing about Taylor. Yes, like you, every hometown song of Taylor is. First of all, she's talking about leaving her hometown. No, no, no. She is. easy twist. But I feel like that
Starting point is 01:13:29 your favorite songs are always like the hometown songs. Like you like John... This is one of my favorite ones. John is still stuck on leaving Boston. No, right. What was the one that you loved so much
Starting point is 01:13:38 from folklore that I was surprised by but it was very much about like leaving your town? It's not Ivy. Maybe it's Evermore. Maybe it's ever more. Did we do an Evermore podcast as well? No, we didn't. It was a...
Starting point is 01:13:51 I'm gonna look it up. The one that like people say is about her to her younger self. It's the damn season you love. Oh yeah. That's a dab that shit. That's also. That's a hometown song.
Starting point is 01:14:00 Oh, yeah, that's like a... And, no, no, I think it was folklore because we were... Tisazam season is from... I think it's the one about where, like, it's like, she calls her Gertrude or something like that. Is it Marjorie? Marjorie. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 01:14:13 Marjorie, Gertrude. Is it Marjorie? Grandma names. Yeah, yeah, Marjorie is... And it's also like a hometown song. But I feel like you... I don't know. I just feel like that's...
Starting point is 01:14:22 You always pick up on the hometown songs and... Yeah, I guess we're expanding. something I didn't know about. I noticed that. I noticed that. I'll write this one down to bring up later with me. Yeah, yeah. Midnight Rain is six.
Starting point is 01:14:41 This is one of the ones that TikTok is jumping all over. I saw a lot of the Tom Hiddleston, Taylor Lawdner. People were really focused on the- Taylor-Lotner. I know. It's not Taylor-Lotner. People were really focused on the, I was making my own name because they were like,
Starting point is 01:14:56 oh, if she was Taylor-Lotner, you know Taylor she would have been the Taylor Oh come on. That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. That is a stretch. If you'd say with Taylor Lawner, she wouldn't be the famous Taylor. Did they do? Taylor Lawner's girlfriend named Tara Lautner is more famous than Taylor Lawner.
Starting point is 01:15:14 I think there was also, there might be a nod to back to December at some point that. Oh my God. People were talking about too. Really? Interesting. Interesting. I like this song a lot. I like this song a lot too.
Starting point is 01:15:26 I think that. I think there's a lot of good lyrics. I'm trying to think that the start of it, that he wanted a comfortable, I wanted that pain. He wanted a bride. I was making my own name again, really. And I think that this is such a good song that just talks about, like, well, I wanted more out of this.
Starting point is 01:15:42 Like, I didn't want to just, like, settle down and get married and do whatever. I wanted to go out and, like, do what I wanted to do. And just because, like, you want a different life than me, it doesn't mean that, like, I want that. But you weren't necessarily mean to me either. Like, there's something bad about you or the relationship. This one kind of mean.
Starting point is 01:15:56 You're just not what I want. This one kind of made me think maybe like a little Calvin Harris. Because of like the drama of her not doing the... It's not mean enough to be about Calvin Harris. Calvin Harris is a DJ. Yeah. He sucks. I feel like there's...
Starting point is 01:16:13 He's got good songs. No, he's... I don't think he has good songs. Really? I like... I like something. This is what you came for. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:22 When he collabs, yeah, when he's got like Rihanna on the track. Yeah, because Taylor Swift wrote that song. Yeah, she did write that song. Really? This is what you're doing for. Yeah, she really did. Yes. But I like, um, that was the April.
Starting point is 01:16:32 April 29th. What song is that? That's, um, why am I supposed to be? fucking just Jared, you know, that, that place? They were like, we know where Taylor was in April 29th. And it was pictures from like 2016 of her going like pop rots. I'm like, why did I fall for this?
Starting point is 01:16:49 I can click the link. And it was just pop rossi pictures of her on April 29th, one random year. I'm like, they don't know where she was. No, she don't know where she went after. She was coming from a Gigi birthday, apparently. Yeah. And it was right before the Maccala. But April 29th is the day that that song came out.
Starting point is 01:17:06 What song? Yes. This is what she came for. This is what she came for. Oh, really? When he did not. It came out and he was like cheating on her. She was cheating on him.
Starting point is 01:17:13 And but she was cheating on him? Yeah, that's what the, it's like, do you really want to know where it was April 29? She hated. She hated him so much. That's how much. Oh my God. Yeah. That's why I'm like, I love that.
Starting point is 01:17:23 To make a song about like, yeah, I fucking fucked around on here. Oh, you really want to know where I was? High and fidelity. He must have not been great for her to acknowledge that. Yes. High and fidelity is the one that everybody says about Calvin Harris. And it's fucking mean. Yeah, that's the one.
Starting point is 01:17:37 It's very much like a, like, do you really want to know where I was able to 29? Do I really have to tell you how he brought me back to life? Oh. I know. I know. Ooh, I love it. I love it. You said I was freelooting.
Starting point is 01:17:50 I didn't know you were keeping count. I bet the truth too far tonight. I was dancing around it. Like, it's just, ugh. That to me. Like, I'm, not to be so graphic, but like, Taylor's I got fuck so good on April 29. And she was like, I gotta get that fuck out of this.
Starting point is 01:18:03 Oh my God, I'm done with Calvin Harris. Not to be graphic. And then you like bit your lip all the way down to here. Fucked. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The song. She also, like, Calvin Harris had, when he was asked, like, if he would ever collaborate, would tell her stuff.
Starting point is 01:18:22 He was like, oh, you know, we never have. But, like, whatever. And then she was like, fuck you. Dickbag. Has there been any other song like that in history? This is a song about how much I enjoyed cheating on you. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:18:36 I would like to hear him though. Nobody looks as deep into lyrics like they do with Taylor Swift song. So I'm sure somebody out there like put out a song. Maybe like Jesse's girl. Is that a cheating song? That's like a cheating song, kind of. I wish that I had Jesse's best friend.
Starting point is 01:18:49 I've never once thought what the lyrics is what that song are about. He's trying to cheat. I wish that I had Jesse's girl. Is he with somebody else or does he just want his friend's girlfriend? But he says like, you know, I don't know. Something about that song makes me feel like he's trying to cheat with her. Like, you know, I feel so dirty when they start talking cute.
Starting point is 01:19:07 Like, it's just like he's trying. I want to tell her that I love her, but the point is probably moot. Like, he just kind of goes. I never knew any of the deeper lyrics. And the lyrics, but she's watching him with those eyes. And he's loving her with that body. I just know it. Like, he's so pissed off about the fact that his friend's like fucking this girl that he wants to fuck.
Starting point is 01:19:24 And so he's always just like. different than being like, I fuck. You're right, you're right. It wasn't you. You're right. You're right. You're right. But that, for some reason, that came to my head.
Starting point is 01:19:33 Okay, question is seven. Question might be my favorite. Question is, question is good. Question. Questions for the crazy girls. Question, I mean, also like, I was done the second it opened up with good girl, sad boy. I was like, this is us. Here we go.
Starting point is 01:19:50 Good girl. Saddala, me, Taylor. Me, Taylor. I love it. Sadboy, a very common phrase is now strictly belongs to me. You guys also see that there's been a lot of that people think there's
Starting point is 01:20:02 companion songs, like each of these songs that she's written previously. It's like one side of the argument. Yeah, not companion, but it's just like either sound wise. I love that. There's a lot of them that I felt like had similar, very similar sounds to old songs. I totally agree. Like
Starting point is 01:20:20 how they, how they all kind of flow the same way. Like they would flow seamlessly into other ones. And that kind of goes back to where we were saying, like all her songs sound the same. I feel like they all... I keep forgetting which one. The one that I remember,
Starting point is 01:20:33 like she opens one of these songs with just I remember. I remember. But not that. But it's not. But it's like boring. At some point she says I remember. Maybe it's at the end.
Starting point is 01:20:44 Hmm. I don't know. Maybe it was maybe think, I remember. But it wasn't that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know. Okay. Question.
Starting point is 01:20:51 We like question. I think question's great. like we said there was some Carly Clause conversations which no like no this one's not about Carly Coss This one is not about Carly Clause This the I swear that it was something
Starting point is 01:21:04 I don't remember who I was before you painted all my nights a color I've searched for since But then one thing after another Fucking situation circumstances Miscommunications I love that Where it's like this just blew up Because we all fucked it up Yeah I think
Starting point is 01:21:20 We don't trust each other The people probably grass to that politics line where it was like, oh, well, let's just jump to that. What was the politics one? It says it was one drink after another fucking politics and gender roles
Starting point is 01:21:33 and you're not sure and I don't know. That was after the half moon eyes, bad surprise, did you realize out of time she was on your mind with some dickhead guy that you saw that night. It's hard to say these lyrics out loud. It is hard. When I want to sing the song. Does that make sense?
Starting point is 01:21:47 Yeah, it is. You can sing it. Oh, my mind with some dickhead guy. Oh, I love it. It's so good. It's so good. But yeah. Eight is vigilante shit.
Starting point is 01:21:57 Love it. Which people freaked out over because once again, it is definitely like a major Anthem. Major bad girl vibe. It's also just like, I very much like vigilante shit. This one didn't grab me right away. I don't really. I needed the lyrics for it.
Starting point is 01:22:13 You don't like it? I like the lyrics. Like, I love the lyrics. I love the messaging behind it. I love that she wrote it. It's just like music wise, I'm just kind of like, Like it's just not my It reminds me
Starting point is 01:22:26 My speed It reminded me of like a It could fit seamlessly into the reputation album Yeah totally I also think that it reminds a little bit of like Nobody no crime Where it's like we're conspiring against You know somebody
Starting point is 01:22:37 And you know kissy faces with your ex-wife Can I say people say this is about Scooter Braun Oh it's 100th This has to be Scooter Braun It just like she was blatantly being like yeah I don't get that She hit him with the fucking Picture me thinking
Starting point is 01:22:52 Not Marjorie Tyro. Was it Marjorie Tyrol? Lady Tyro, whatever. When she's like, tell Circe. Lady Olena. Yeah, yeah. Like, it was like, who do you think gave her with the envelope? Like, do you think Scooter Braun's like, fuck you?
Starting point is 01:23:05 Like screaming somewhere? And I love that idea. Which also, I'll be honest, part of me now in the Taylor's scooter thing is starting to feel for Scooter a little bit because it is, she has beaten his face into a polo. And also, he made a fucking mistake. Like, the reps should break it up. Right. And also he was being sued
Starting point is 01:23:24 So like the white collar crimes Here's the thing It's like people are like Oh my god I love Taylor She's so crazy At what point do we say like Okay She's out for justice
Starting point is 01:23:36 She's a motherfucking vigilante She's telling us right now She's like I'm gonna fucking raise your kids bro Yeah So wait so wait so wait wait There's a line in this Where literally the I think It's the picture of me thick
Starting point is 01:23:47 It's with your ex-wife And she looks so pretty Driving in your bends but the way she sings it, she goes, and she looks so pretty. And I was like, Taylor's going to fuck his wife. I'm going to love that. Your kids call me dad.
Starting point is 01:23:59 Literally, like, that is what's happening. I just love it. I love that part. I love that whole thing. I like this one a lot. It's a good song, but I feel you where it's like, it's not, I wish there was a little more,
Starting point is 01:24:11 a little more kick-ass to it in some way. It's just like, it has that. Ladies have had enough. Like, it's good. Yeah, it just has a good, I mean, I like it. It's just like it. Like, maybe just because it feels so reputation where I wish it was just on reputation.
Starting point is 01:24:29 Yeah. Because I feel like it just kind of pops out on this album where I'm like, wait a second. Like, whoa, where does this one fit into the mix? Which I guess it's the whole point of midnight. Putting together a yellow envelope to his wife. It is the whole point. She also referenced scooter brawendo and cocaine. But I also.
Starting point is 01:24:46 Not shocking. Yeah. A Hollywood executive. Could her wrong? Does cocaine? We've never heard Taylor talk about cocaine before. I think that with a song like this, I personally, this is one of my favorites, but I think that sometimes Taylor, like, she can go even more.
Starting point is 01:25:05 And so, like, sometimes when she's like, I'm doing, like, she's like, I'm the bad girl stick. It's like not, well, I said stick. It's not, though, because she actually, I guess, does these things. Because she actually ruins life. She's an actual bad bitch. It comes, right, but it comes across, like, I'm trying to be a bad guy. it's when she is a bad bit.
Starting point is 01:25:21 So I feel like she can go even harder, but she almost stops herself a little bit. And when I think that she could really go even mean her if she wanted to, and people would still be like, fuck yeah. Definitely. I mean, this isn't like, I don't know what the envelope contained, obviously. But on Mad Woman, she's outright says he's cheating.
Starting point is 01:25:36 Yeah. Oh, yeah. Why didn't she need the envelope? Probably an envelope full of photos from a private investigator. That's what I had in my head. Jesus, right. That's crazy. I mean, that's what I thought.
Starting point is 01:25:47 No, but also like good on her. You know what I mean? Fighting the good fight. But also, you know, Taylor, you did sign a contract. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But whatever. We're on Taylor's side. But, you know.
Starting point is 01:26:00 But there's a little part of me that's like, dude, you're going to, like, what if, let's, let's, let's live in a fantasy world. Okay. What if Scooter Braun kills himself? Well. John. Taylor's writing music about ending his life. He's such a narcissist. He would never kill himself.
Starting point is 01:26:18 I said, let's live in a fantasy world. And he's got. He said Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande. And the note says it's because of vigilante shit. Then I would play vigilante chifers every day the rest of my life. I'd be like, okay. All right. Oh my stop.
Starting point is 01:26:33 This is the suey song. See, now, so you're feeling bad for the... Once you start bringing in, like, the kids and stuff. I don't know if she actually says kids. I think she says kids in someone's one. He clearly is like doing cocaine and taking advantage of people, especially women. She got the house. She got the kids.
Starting point is 01:26:47 Yeah, right, right. Yeah, yeah. Right, right. I mean, that's really rubbing salt. Yeah, well, he's a piece of shit. Scooteron must be worse than we even... Again, pro Taylor. I just think she's starting...
Starting point is 01:26:58 We know your pro Taylor. Look at your shirt. She's starting to dance on a knife's edge where you might go too hard on somebody. People are like, all right. Let him breathe a little bit. I think she's good. Did you have that same energy for Jake Gyllenhaal?
Starting point is 01:27:08 Yeah, absolutely. I see it more for Jake Gyllenhaal than I do for Scooter Brown. I think Scooter Brown deserves every day. No, I definitely had it for Jake Gyllenhaal, too. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It would be like, if I was Jake Gyllenha, it was 10. years ago. She forgot the scarf. What do you want me to do? She forgot the scarf. And do you think she murdered somebody with her saying? Yes.
Starting point is 01:27:28 Oh, yeah. Yeah, the hit and run. People were mad that we went down that path last time. Really? So I wanted to bring back up. Oh, whatever. This is so ridiculous. We're getting out of hand. It's like, are we getting out of hand? I was like, that's like the biggest rumor ever about that. It's like, are we getting out of hand? Do we put anything past Taylor at this? No. Bejuled is in, bejuled is next. This I think Bajoled is very, I like Bujoled a lot Is that the name of a movie? Bewitched. Yeah, that's the mooched.
Starting point is 01:27:57 Bejeweled, this one I think has my favorite lyric. Which, which is? Familiarity breeds contempt to put me in the basement When I want the penthouse of your heart. When I heard that one for the first time, I was like, yep, I love that one. That's a great fucking lyric. It's a really good lyric.
Starting point is 01:28:15 I like the sound of the song. It's very, dance around with your friends feel confident. Like, you best believe them still be jeweled, bitch. Like, I, like, it doesn't matter what you say,
Starting point is 01:28:24 it doesn't matter what you do to me. I'll still shimmer. Yeah, how you want to put me in the basement when I should be in the penthouse, I'll still, I'll still shimmer. Yep. Yeah, I mean, that, I think that's the lyric of the album. I love that lyric.
Starting point is 01:28:33 I love that lyric in the basement when she gets to the sap part at the end. The familiarity bleeds contempt is also just such a great line. It's great. The sapphire tears on my face, sadness became my whole sky. Love it, love it. Labyrinth is 10. Labyrinth, I think, has gotten mixed reviews. I love Labyrinth, too.
Starting point is 01:28:52 Labyrinth is top three for me for sure. See, Labyrinth, this is why, like, for me, there's so many songs where, like, a song like Sweet Nothing where it does feel like it kind of stays the same throughout the song. It's like, for this, it makes sense. For like a midnight rain, like, give me a big moment, you know, like that's just my own personal taste. For Labyrinth, I was like, yes, I liked that it was going up, up, up, up, up,
Starting point is 01:29:17 The whole time. Completely. Completely. And she just repeats the same lines, which I love. Like, I feel like it really just emphasizes the fallen in love. It's that, it gives you that feeling of anxiety that she's describing. Yeah. I'm trying to think of the lines I like the, it only hurts this much right now.
Starting point is 01:29:35 What was what I was thinking the whole time? I'm trying to think. These are hard to, oh, oh, this one I like. You know how much I hate that everybody just expects me to bounce back just like that. I like that a lot because it's like. you know I was in this relationship I went through a breakup I'm having a hard time and everybody's like who are you dating now like what's going on now
Starting point is 01:29:53 blah blah blah whatever but it's like I'm afraid to fall in love again oh no I'm falling in love like I'm dating someone named Taylor and I like her a lot yeah like I don't know I just I love it I love it It's a great one It's a great song it's got that slow vibe
Starting point is 01:30:09 Karma is 11 karma is also one that's like the rumors of that she was supposed to release an album called karma and then that never happened. This one is once again about Scooter Brock. This to me is, this to me, I think is all of them rolled into one. I think this is Scooter. I think this is
Starting point is 01:30:25 Kanye. I think this is like guess what? All of you guys are going to get your moment. I feel like this one pretty clearly Scooter again too. There is, there's more scooter-esque lines, but I feel like the messaging still goes back to everybody that's ever
Starting point is 01:30:41 so, it's so generally like I'm comfortable with karma is coming back to you, but yes, the line where she says spider boy king of thieves weave your little webs of opacity um spider boy is such a mean thing spider boy is such a mean thing my pennies made your crown is what it was also like it was like oh all my hard work blood sweat and tears going into my music is making is made your crown trip me once trick me twice don't you know that cash ain't the only price yeah yeah yeah what's gonna cost is your fucking marriage love it's gonna cost me your life i'm gonna take a pound of flesh every single last every single
Starting point is 01:31:17 album for the rest of my life. Just so you know I'm like 34. So it's going to be a long time. It'll cost, just your voice. That's true. How old is she? 33? She's about to be 33.
Starting point is 01:31:27 And she, the, the, karma, I also saw one that was like, another good conspiracy TikTok that I liked. It was like, karma is my boyfriend, boyfriend, Justin Bieber's song. Love it. Karma is a God.
Starting point is 01:31:42 God is a woman. Ariana Grande. Love it. All some of Scooters clientele. Wow. Incredible. I was like, this could be a stretch, but I love this one.
Starting point is 01:31:52 I'm just going to like, I'll dive right into that one. I'll stretch like a cat. Yeah. And then she says, karma is a cat. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, she says. Yeah, she goes, yeah, carming in my lap because he loves me. My favorite of the whole thing is the.
Starting point is 01:32:07 Yeah, because I was thrown off by the cats in here too. Because you wrote in your, when you put out your rating. She's love talking about cats. You were like, I don't know if it was the cat thing. Yeah, like, karma is a cat. That perin in my lap. Because it loves me. Because it loves me.
Starting point is 01:32:21 It's like a goddamn acrobat is a nice word. The best thing in the whole song, though, I think, is the karma's a relaxing thought. Aren't you, NV? For you, it's not. Yeah. That's just like, oh. I'm so, like I got nothing to worry about. Like you?
Starting point is 01:32:34 Oh. Sweet. Can she really have nothing to worry about? Like, you get this thing. That's a thing. No. You have to be like, God damn. There's a lot of shit out there.
Starting point is 01:32:44 I don't. That, well, here's the thing. I think that. it's very clear that she's not so innocent. She's actually making it quite clear in her lyrics now because I used to be like, oh, Taylor Swift always plays the victim until then you listen to her lyrics
Starting point is 01:32:56 and she's like, actually she's saying like she does things wrong, but she just doesn't care. Yeah, right. I don't know if she's really playing the victim, but I think we just don't know a lot. Yeah. Sweet Nothing is 12.
Starting point is 01:33:09 This is the song's adorable. This is the one with... So sweet. It's a really nice song. It's a really nice song. I love the songs that they co-write Me too. I think they're just absolutely adorable.
Starting point is 01:33:19 Just like the way it starts the I spy with my tired or a little tired eye, whatever. And then I think there's something she references like one of the rocks when they were together. Yeah, yeah, the pebble. Yes, it was.
Starting point is 01:33:33 It was exactly that. Yeah. I spy with my little tired. This is sneaky my favorite song. This is a really good one. This is a really good one. She says, on the way home I wrote a poem, you say, what am I, this happens all the time?
Starting point is 01:33:48 I'm like, oh, that's so cute. He's so supportive of her. It literally is when they were, that, if you click on like the pebble part or Winslow, it says Winslow, it says, like, that's what they shot conversations with it. Oh, really? That literally is, like, what that is. And that line, but I also think it's so sweet that, uh, thing stretch over here.
Starting point is 01:34:07 The, like, all you, all you ever wanted from me was sweet, nothing. Like, she, again, she was, like, afraid of, like, not sure how much to give, not sure how much to how vulnerable to be his response to peace. Oh, that's sweet. I love that. Oh, no, Fran. That is.
Starting point is 01:34:26 Isn't that so nice? I mean, once again, these are coming from Taylor fans on TikTok. No, but I love them too. It doesn't matter. They're smarter than I am. This is the song that reminds me
Starting point is 01:34:34 if it's nice to have a friend. Yeah. I think very much like it's this song just reminds me that same vibe where it's like, we're sweet and it's like, oh, you love me. You love me for me. This is his response to peace.
Starting point is 01:34:44 What did that be? Peace was my favorite song. That makes a lot of sense Why this one's not a favorite song Because it's a great song It's such a nice message It's so great to her It is
Starting point is 01:34:54 He is so sweet to heart Like they're just They're so sweet Like where has Joe Allen been Like You know I You just need a car I'm a carver
Starting point is 01:35:04 I know she did I know she did I know she did But it's like you know We're not have all that music The last song is Mastermind It's 13 I think this one is my favorite
Starting point is 01:35:14 It was my favorite after first listen and I still think it is. I'm more, like, and maybe it's just like my, we laugh because I just like, I like more, I like dance music. Like, I like that sound. And it has like a little bit more of a beat, which I'm like, yeah, like when I can kind of like,
Starting point is 01:35:28 like bop my head to it. Yeah, yeah. I like this a lot, which, and I like that the idea of her, I like her ending with just like the idea of everyone thinks that, that's like her, the biggest thing people say about her, right? It's like, oh, she's just this crazy mind. mastermind, she puts all these things together. She's always got crazy things going
Starting point is 01:35:50 and her Easter eggs and like you just, you know this album came out on like the day I saw on her, like the 12,000th day of her life. It was like 12,000, clock, midnight's. What? See, I actually think
Starting point is 01:36:09 Also Kim Kardashian's birthday. Really? Yeah. It's like it's even more so like not even just about like the Easterers and stuff she does. It's just like She's like, I let you guys think I was an innocent little girl. I let you guys think this. None of my career has been an accident. Yeah, no.
Starting point is 01:36:22 And I think that's such a big flex to be like, once you are at the top, you're like, everything you thought was like you were tearing me down. I was letting you do that. That's what I was getting here. People love the narrative of her, like, bewitching all these guys and dating her and like brainwashing them. Obviously. I just watched Practical Magic the other day. Nicole Kittman, Sandra Bullock, old witch movie. Do you guys know that movie?
Starting point is 01:36:46 Oh, so good you got to watch. But Nicole, so Nicole Kibman and Sandra Bullock, they grow up there, which is Sandra Bullock doesn't want to be a wish. She, like, pushes it down, whatever Nicole Kibman loves it. But Nicole Kidman's, like, whole thing is that she's, like, great with men. She, like, be witches, men, kind of, and they all love her all the time. And it just gives me Taylor Soapes. The, I also think this is a very relatable song for all.
Starting point is 01:37:06 I feel like all women are Kaiser Sozei, where, like, everything is, like, you just, you just let men exist. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you guys are in good. You're all in control. You're all in control. You're all doing whatever because we're just, we're taking a nap over here. If we really want to rise up, we're going to rise up. Yeah, it's like what's the thing? Like if every spider in the world decided to eat people, they could eat us all in like a week. That's fucking crazy. It's like something insane. Maybe it's a year, but it's like, it's like, if every spider decides like, it's time to eat people, we're dead really, really fast. I'm very, very afraid about that. Okay. Then we have the three.
Starting point is 01:37:46 tracks. Really quick on Mastermind. So I've been skee- No one wanted to play with me as a little kid, so I've been scheming like a criminal ever since to make them love me and make it seem effortless. I love that. I also,
Starting point is 01:37:59 now that we're done with the regular album, I was very scared it was going to be too much Jack Antonoff. And I officially think it was not. Yeah, you did say that. I think it was. Okay. I think Jack Antonov learned how to turn Jack Antonf down a little bit. I think he did too.
Starting point is 01:38:13 I think he did too. Well, somebody said, who said, I think you also sounded like Lord. Was that you? Somebody said like, oh, something that sounds like Lord. And I was like, well, Jack Hansonoff. Yeah. Oh, no, it was Gillis.
Starting point is 01:38:23 Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So a lot of the 3 AM ones are Aaron, are Aaron Dester. Right, who I love. So that's like, I feel like you, when you put, when you listen now at all 20, like start to finish, it's like, it's a good mix. The Great War is definitely one that felt very, um, folklore ever more. 100%. It's also.
Starting point is 01:38:43 It's also. Like, I'm like, okay. this one either. It's like, I like it. It's not grow on me. Like, yeah. I assume it's a big fight for her in general. It's definitely about love. It's definitely about like, yeah, like a fight or whatever like that. But she just got to be a metaphor for a big fight. It's non-stop. That's true.
Starting point is 01:39:01 I don't do anything small. When I fight, it's World War. It's literally like hitting over the top of the head with the war references. Like it reminded me of a, I said this folklore seven how she talks about her. It's like the song by like her grandpa going to war and it's all about war
Starting point is 01:39:17 and I feel like No that's not seven That's fucking Was that seven? Seven is that song yeah What's the other one where like So you also compare soldiers to front line workers
Starting point is 01:39:25 I don't know Seven is The one about like Get Your Helmet That's seven? I don't think that's seven Yeah it is I mean I'm gonna defer to you
Starting point is 01:39:38 Because you are Maniac But Yeah I think Yeah I think it is seven It's seven It's like about
Starting point is 01:39:45 From like this perspective of her grandfather and then Let me see Yeah Yeah No Or wait a minute Have I been fucking saying this this whole time? What is the song then?
Starting point is 01:40:02 Do you know it's on Evermore? I think it's on Evermore Damn, I wrote that on my blog Yeah it's definitely not It's definitely not Oh it's epiphany That is the song I'm thinking of Fuck
Starting point is 01:40:14 Yes epiphany Yeah yeah yeah that's Yeah this song that song that song Got one one, baby. Yeah, wow, wow. I am embarrassed. Like, I've been saying seven for,
Starting point is 01:40:25 I thought this song was seven, like in my head. Damn, well, Epiphany is what I'm talking about. With all the war references and all whatever. I don't really, I don't die for all that. I understand about it. But I like this one. I thought this is. I appreciate the dramatics behind it,
Starting point is 01:40:40 but it's just not my. Bigger than the whole sky is probably the most heart-wrenching. Absolutely. I would say, I think a lot of people, you know you immediately assume like relationship that kind of vibe but a lot of people have interpreting it for themselves or for others
Starting point is 01:40:57 as potentially about a miscarriage or losing a pregnancy so I've seen a lot of people talking about that too and whether that's Taylor talking about herself or maybe Taylor writing it for somebody else which we've seen her do plenty of times before
Starting point is 01:41:11 when we walked in today that was the first time I heard the miscarriage comparison that's deep not comparison but whatever you're going to listen back to it. One of my besties told me that, like, that she had read it. I hadn't heard it that last night. And I was like, oh, fuck. And when you listen back to it through that lens, it's like,
Starting point is 01:41:28 gut wrenching. During that, like, once you have that frame of mind, it's like, it just feels like that has to be it. I don't know. Totally. Now I can't go back. I can't imagine. Did some force take you because I didn't pray? Yeah, yeah. Like, it's like, I also looked out. I wrote this to my blog. Yeah. I looked at, what's the top line set? Read up? Did some birds flap its wings over in Asia?
Starting point is 01:41:46 I looked up, uh, storks are native to Asia. but it's also kind of just like butterfly effect butterfly effect yeah isn't that like a butterfly flag against wings in somewhere it creates a hurricane or something like that yeah true you were more than just a short time the um I also
Starting point is 01:42:03 freaking out because she said what could have been would have been should have been which yeah you know then she has would have yeah oh yeah right what a could sure yeah the um this not not to move on from the lyrics but the sound I thought very much reminded me of wow this dreams Yeah, that's fair. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 01:42:20 Like, I love that. I already used the word anthemic earlier, but I find that to be like a little, like, I can see that playing like in a movie here. See me in hindsight? Because it had a lot of movies before probably, right? I felt a lot of Wildest Dreams vibes from a lot of these songs, honestly.
Starting point is 01:42:34 Which is awesome because Wilder Dreams. This song feels most in a while, I think just compared to like Evermore and folklore. They're like storytelling. And I feel like those were supposed to be like fantasy kind of albums. but I feel like this album is more like that. It's more like, it's more inside her, like, love mind and a little bit of delusion than anything else.
Starting point is 01:42:56 Does that make sense? Yeah. Yeah, no, definitely does. Paris. Yeah. That was deep. Thanks, thanks, thanks. Paris, another one, not my fave.
Starting point is 01:43:06 I like Paris. I thought Paris is one of the more like boppy. Yeah, yeah, I agree. It's cute and fun and lyrically it's okay. I liked the, there's a line in Paris. that I really like. I feel like it was just more fun, like a little lighter.
Starting point is 01:43:20 Yeah, which is welcome. Yes, lighter, lighter. Following an abortion, not abortion, miscarriage song. Yeah, potentially. I want to brainwash you into loving me forever. I want to transfer you to somewhere the culture is clever, confessing my truth in swooping, sloping, cursive letters. I like that.
Starting point is 01:43:35 Where it's like, I want you to be obsessed with me and I want you to hear that I'm obsessed with you. Like that's, I love that. Just like a, like, you know, you see a dog. It's so fluffy. You squeeze it so hard. Yeah. Cute aggression.
Starting point is 01:43:47 I feel like there's been a... Cute aggression, is that, like, the term? Yeah. That's how I feel that is. What is it cute aggression? Cute aggression. Like, you're just, I love you so much. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:43:55 You're like, you're like, yeah. Lenny from Mice and Men in it? Yes, yes. Honestly, yes. That's what I was saying, but I didn't mean to say dog, and I said dog and I didn't want to say that after. Yeah. But yeah, I was thinking about Lenny just yesterday for some reason. Really?
Starting point is 01:44:08 Yeah. Were you feeling like Lenny? No. It was a hometown thing. That was it? Of course it was. No, no. I'm kidding, dude.
Starting point is 01:44:16 Oh, okay. I was like, for fuck's sake. High infidelity, which, you know, we had mentioned the... Great one. Great one. The April 29th line. So, yeah. Fuck, Calvin Harris.
Starting point is 01:44:31 No, it's... You look like the, uh, the Bugs Bunny meme where you say no? Yeah, yeah. Fuck. I wish I didn't make that phase. I just made a really gross face. It sounds like it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:44:45 From here Yeah What? Like it's Calvin Harris No it just Yeah it just sounds like She had a great night On April 29
Starting point is 01:44:52 Oh no without question Right like she cheated She had fun She's doing whatever she's doing And you know He's nowhere to be found He's too busy At the beginning of the song
Starting point is 01:45:01 Where she's like I didn't know you were keeping score Or keeping tabs or whatever He strikes me as that kind of person To just like Yeah You know Remember everything
Starting point is 01:45:09 And it's always like a A competition of who Who's giving more And who's taking more and I'm taking notes, you know. And I don't think Taylor would have cheated if he was a good boyfriend. No way.
Starting point is 01:45:22 No, but I mean, can you say that about any cheating? That's true. You could. But I feel like it's Taylor Swift, so we like me to. It is wild. It is probably one of the, it seems to be it's well received and accepted and excused the cheating. It is pretty rare that a cheating can just be like allowed
Starting point is 01:45:39 when the other person didn't do something incredibly destructive. Right. It's like, he wasn't the best person. boyfriend so it's fine. Maybe there's something we don't know. No. Well, she writes, man. I'm going to venture to guess there is something we don't know.
Starting point is 01:45:52 That's what I'm giving Taylor the benefit of the doubt here. Yeah, no, me too, no doubt. You know, it's wrong, but maybe Calvin did something really bad to her. She writes about, like, infidelity a lot, I feel like she, like, elicit affairs. That whole song's about, like, a marriage affair. And it's like, you know, they're all, their stories and whatever, but I wonder, you know, really where do they come from? And I think that she's comfortable talking about those things, which I
Starting point is 01:46:14 I appreciate that because it's like, I don't know, it kind of flips the other side of the coin. I feel like people always talk about men cheating on women, whatever. Like girls cheat too. And it's not like, we're not saying like it's excusable, but it's also like at least we've got probably have a better reason. And she says put on your records. She uses the line put on your records and she also says put on your headphones. Yeah, yeah. I just feel like there'll be a little DJ.
Starting point is 01:46:38 Totally. Totally. Yeah. I don't think that's that. I got the DJ community so upset with me still. They're still, when I said DJs were lame When you said you just don't date a DJ. Yeah, I was like, I was talking about Emeritikowski and I was like she's seeing a
Starting point is 01:46:50 DJ which is like a joke like you don't date a DJ. I would never trust a DJ. You can hook up with a DJ but you're not going to see a DJ. They're going to come for you. I don't even think you hook up with DJs. DJs are fucking, I'll get your back on here. Thank you for all of this. People are coming for me specifically Dante.
Starting point is 01:47:05 DJs. Oh, I forgot about Dante. I also when I was thinking about him. Whatever. Dante doesn't even DJ anymore. That's what I'm saying. I forgot about him too when I was saying. Monti moved on from DJing.
Starting point is 01:47:16 In my head, I was thinking about, like, my douchebag friends growing up who were, like, DJing at the fucking Pike House. Like, shout out to them, you know? It's like, you know, you weren't, they weren't Calvin Harris and they thought that they were. And then you were like, oh, I hooked up with a DJ and it's like, okay, cool. It's like, yeah, yeah, yeah. I also think, like, the DJ community getting mad at you is just, like, all the proof you need. Which, like, oh, I wasn't talking about you guys.
Starting point is 01:47:37 No one cares about the wedding person. Like, there are, like, six DJs in the world. No, I'm talking about the people who literally, like, they, they, think that they are Avichy. Like, yo, I'm just one gig away. No, man, you're not. You're not. You're clicking off iTunes.
Starting point is 01:47:54 Glitch. Glitch is another very sweet song. This feels very another one of just like, maybe at the time that you did meet Joe, it wasn't really supposed to happen, or it was just like a, oh, meeting a friend. Yep. And there was just like a glitch in here they are.
Starting point is 01:48:09 Yep, there's a glitch in the Matrix. She wrote, it's been 2,190 days of our love, is, I didn't do the math, but apparently around six years. Yeah, that makes, that makes sense. Six years a long as time. I didn't know they'd been together for six years. Or maybe like I had been together
Starting point is 01:48:25 for six years. Yeah, 210090. Yeah, that's six years. 210090 days. Wow. Love that. Love it. Yep.
Starting point is 01:48:36 That's a sweet one. It's, I feel like sometimes she just adds a little. Then we get hit hard with what could have should have. Which I think is arguably one of her best songs like ever. It's a really good. It's a really good. It's a really good song. It wouldn't have fit on midnights. It had to be on the 3 a.m. Agreed. Agreed. But it is a
Starting point is 01:48:55 smash of a song. It's a really good song. This is an Aaron Destner. Yep, Aaron Desner, of course. I need some more. I need some more time with it. Everyone says this is the John Mayer song. This is the long awaited John Mayer's song only because she references the fact that she was 19. So that puts us gives us a timestamp. And the way she talks about it, what does she say? Like the, I regret you all the time. There's a lot of lines. I would have sat on my knees and I damn sure never would have danced with the devil at 19. And the God's honest truth is that the pain was heaven.
Starting point is 01:49:24 Pain was heaven. Yeah. I like that though. I like because maybe that line is what makes me think that, you know, if I'm comparing John Mayer and Jake Gillen Hall with All Too Well and Dear John, then I always in my head. I think because I love Dear John the song so much where I'm like, oh, it's fucking good. And I'm like, oh, whatever. But I've never, the way she sings about John Mayer is still sad, but it doesn't seem so like, like, cutthroat angry.
Starting point is 01:49:52 It seems more like disappointed. And so I feel like I'm never. Retrospective more of like about life and being like, I'm never like looking back and being like, damn, you know, I was 19. And now that I'm in my 30s, he was like 32, which is how old she is right now. It's like this. It's old. It's old.
Starting point is 01:50:10 Debbie Lovato wrote the song 29, which she wrote about like, finally. She was 17, she dated Wilmer Valderama. And now when she turned 29, she wrote the song and was like, now that I'm 29, this is like, now I really realize how fucking weird this was. 17 is different than 19. I have absolutely no interest in ever dating a younger woman at all. But I also think, like, I almost like giving women credit. Like, well, you're 19.
Starting point is 01:50:34 You can make your own decision. Like, I feel like people, excuse me, I feel like people like defend younger girls dating older guys. When it's like, well, I don't know, you're 20 years old. You're an adult. I don't think you need me fighting your battles Right, but also your brain changes so dramatically From your being 19, 20 to like Because I think about how when I started working here
Starting point is 01:50:54 When I was 19 and now I'm 25 And I'm like, oh, like my brain has changed so dramatically Yeah That I'm like some of the, you know what I mean? Yeah, I just look back And if you were dating a 32 year old at that time Right, and then at this and then it would have been It would be absolutely weird
Starting point is 01:51:10 And something again I have absolutely absolutely absolutely no interest in. But also, like, I mean, if you can sign up to go to war, I think you can choose who you sleep with. Okay, okay. The Great War. You can sign up for war, but you can't have a drink. You can't have a beer.
Starting point is 01:51:27 I said this more, when we talked about Billy Elish recently, I said it's more of a reflection on the guy. No doubt. It's strange for them. Like, you're so immature that you need to date someone that's 19. Like, you can't date someone that's like more on your...
Starting point is 01:51:41 It was like, with a date. Dan Cook's up. I was like, dude, you're 50? Why are you dating 18 year olds? I view it as very much as like when older guys date younger girls, it's because they don't want the wisdom that comes with older women. Like they don't want to be called out on their bullshit. They don't want to grow up.
Starting point is 01:51:56 They don't want to do those things. They want to just live in this like youthful bubble that they're they're afraid of aging themselves. Right. They're afraid exactly. So they date younger because they don't want to be older. But for some reason this song like I'm not coming after John Mayer after the song. Like I'm kind of like, oh,
Starting point is 01:52:12 Yeah, well, that was kind of a weird situation. And maybe because I like him. Like, I don't know what it is. But one of the lines I liked was the, if you tasted poison, you could have spit me out at the first chance. And so I feel like a lot of the, a lot of her argument with John Mayer is very much like a, I knew what I was doing and I did it. But like, you also knew what you were doing. And it's kind of fucked out that you just like let it go on. Like you saw me struggling with a certain situation.
Starting point is 01:52:34 You knew I couldn't handle the situation, but you didn't, you did nothing to like alleviate that for me. Like you just kind of made it worse and went along with it and whatever. But at the same time, like, you know, John Mayer might be equally emotionally immature. Like, I kind of feel that way about him. Sorry, Noah. I know that's your boy. But sometimes I feel that way about him. Poison.
Starting point is 01:52:53 You're saying poison reminds me that there's a line. I think we underestimate how much Taylor Swift drinks. I think Taylor fucking drinks a lot. She's constantly drinking. She does. Oh, she loves drinking wine. I feel like she didn't start drinking until late. And then when she did, she was like, now I'm.
Starting point is 01:53:08 She's a booze habit. I think Taylor fucking drinks. Yeah. In the Great War, there's a line where he does something, he did something after the fight. And I think the line was, and I'd draw the shades and drink my poison. And I was like, oh, I know that move, girl. Great line. Great line.
Starting point is 01:53:25 Yep. Great line. The last one is Dear Reader, which is nice. To me, Dear Reader was just like a little bow on the end of the album. That was just like a message to all of her fans like, hey, these are my songs. can take them as they are, interpret them as you want, but don't, like, don't go quick.
Starting point is 01:53:47 Don't do what we just do. Don't do exactly what we're doing. Don't do as I say or as I do. You just don't really deep dive into every song. Which also, for me, it's easy. It's like, oh yeah, no problem, girl. Like, all right, we're something fun. All right, cool.
Starting point is 01:54:00 Yeah, if we weren't doing this, I would have never looked further into any of this songs. Yeah, yeah. I think she, like, likes to give advice, I guess, feel like some of the verses were, like, some advice. And then the chorus is like, but also never take it.
Starting point is 01:54:11 advice from someone who's fallen apart. Yeah. Totally. Is there something more to that lyric? Because I completely disagree with that. We were talking about this and this is how I thought about it. Never take advice to fall apart. You're like, no, we don't take advice from me. No, my life fell apart.
Starting point is 01:54:24 She talks about having her fourth drink in her hand in this one. Yeah, she does. Yeah, she does. Love a fourth drink. That's how you know. Boots out. Four drinks how you know. This one I said,
Starting point is 01:54:35 I feel like it's the message I got was just that don't take advice from broken people because their view is jaded. kind of like I feel like she's pessimistic and cynical about certain things so like even in the first verse or the first intro when she talks about how like you know oh don't do this
Starting point is 01:54:53 or don't do that or watch out for this whatever but also like never you know never take advice from someone who's broke or whatever I think it's just like if you were to come to me and be like oh what are your thoughts on dating I'd be like dating is a fucking worse like it's disgusting because that's been my experience but that doesn't mean that like that doesn't mean that that's the truth right
Starting point is 01:55:09 and I think she says in this second Or someone in a bad relationship, like marriage is fucking awful. I fucking hate marriage. It's like, well, that's what you think. Yeah, yeah, everybody thinks. Right. She says, dear reader, Ben, when you can, snap when you have to. Dear reader, you don't have to answer it just because they asked you.
Starting point is 01:55:23 Dear reader, the greatest of luxuries is your secrets. Dear reader, when you aim at the devil, make sure you don't miss. So it felt like I feel like she was talking about her life experience a lot. And then it was like, also, you could not listen to me at all. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This song was a nice little like Apertief on the whole hour.
Starting point is 01:55:41 I still digestive I'm good A digestivo And that's a dinamint Yes Yeah exactly So I felt like that just kind of Ended it all nicely
Starting point is 01:55:51 And that is That's all 20 guys We went through all of them Do we want to give Do we want to give top five Top five Five I can do Top five
Starting point is 01:56:01 Three I was gonna have a hard time with Five I can do three easily Top five I'm just gonna go to the album Does it have to be in a specific order Yes Because I feel like when you're When you say like oh
Starting point is 01:56:14 Okay And out Number one I'll go you're on your own kid Okay That's a good one Number two I'll go midnight rain Okay
Starting point is 01:56:23 Oh good one Three I will go Sweet nothing Wait are we including the 3 AM tracks Yes Yes Okay Four I'll go vigilante shit
Starting point is 01:56:35 It's a good one I don't like saying shit When it comes to Taylor's stuff I didn't really like I didn't really like saying that right there She says it so much And five I'm going to go
Starting point is 01:56:47 Hmm Hmm Come back to me on the fifth one Oh no Woulda could have showed up Yeah There you go This is so hard for me right now
Starting point is 01:56:58 It's so hard I think I think I go Mastermind One Maroon 2 Labrine 3
Starting point is 01:57:12 would have could have should have four I'm stuck between I think I would go I think I do really I do really like
Starting point is 01:57:27 Antihero I think I'll go Antehero five Honorable mentions are drooled and and karma
Starting point is 01:57:34 Oh good she's doing honorable mentions I mean I can do yeah okay good because I can't I can't
Starting point is 01:57:39 cut it down I think my number one right now in this moment is is question I just, I fucking love that song and it's just really hitting right
Starting point is 01:57:49 and I know that it'll change and whatever I just love it two I'm gonna go labyrinth I really love that song three I'm gonna go midnight rain four I'm gonna go mastermind five I'm gonna do bigger than the whole sky and I'll do
Starting point is 01:58:04 honorable mentions to anti-hero because it's written about me and also honorable mention to glitch which I also really like that's my thoughts right now they've been changing literally every minute but that's what I feel.
Starting point is 01:58:17 I'll say question and labyrinth have been really like top one and two interchangeable for me all weekend. Okay. One anti-hero. Two question. Fuck, I'm already fucked. It's so hard. It's so hard. Three midnight rain.
Starting point is 01:58:37 Four, sweet nothing. Oh, good one. Oh, I see. Five would have finished it up. We had a similar list. Wow. See, like I wish I had. I know.
Starting point is 01:58:46 Like, it's just hard, though. Like, I really like sweet nothing, but where does it fall on the list of like, it's so hard. I think of when I go to open my phone, I'm like, and I'm looking, I'm like, what song do I want to press play on? Same, same. And it always ends up being, it always ends up being like question. I'll start it off with question or, you know, labyrinth, whatever, but then I kind of, it's hard.
Starting point is 01:59:07 It's really hard to choose these songs. Also, too, because they're, like, they are similar, but they're also very different in the, in their messaging, in the way that they sound and whatever. and like a lot of the songs that are on Taylor's albums I always feel will I'll relate to them or I'll like them more depending on the mood that I'm in and right now like those are just my moods like maybe next week I'll be in like a super sad mood and I'll be like you know really hanging on to one of the other ones
Starting point is 01:59:32 you know what I mean like it's just it's so she's just so good at everything she does yeah it is my main takeaway is she won't miss she'll never miss it's just crazy It is crazy. And I do think because she did, like, folklore and Evermore were so good, but they were different that this is, this falls for me more in, like, the 89 reputation sound. I feel like there's even a little speak now on there. A little. I wouldn't be surprised. I feel like bejewed could be a speak now song.
Starting point is 02:00:05 Yeah. It must be. It's probably interesting, too, like her going back and re-recording all this stuff. I fucking love speaking now. Like she gets almost inspiration from stuff you wouldn't. Most artists don't ever get inspiration from. Because how often does an artist go back and re-record an old album? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 02:00:19 Oh, wait, yeah, I did like this sound. Or I did like this message. Totally. Which makes me think that there's a lot of. I didn't think about that. Which makes me think like the comparisons where people are like, oh, there's songs that sound like these songs. I feel like she could have started off with the sound
Starting point is 02:00:35 when she was like recording reputation or whatever album it was. and when she goes to, like, or read, she goes to re-record a song, it's like, oh, where were we? Like, remember we had that other version of this that had like the similar beat, but then we changed it? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 02:00:52 And I feel like that's a lot of beats. Right, for sure, right. There's pulling it out and, like, she has all these things written. It's very much like the figuring out the sounds that go with it and, like, maybe changing the words. Because, I mean, Taylor's a poet. Like, she's writing all the time. She's writing lyrics.
Starting point is 02:01:06 And I, in my head, whatever she's written in her notebook is very much like these are poems, these are stories, these are whatever. And then Jack Ansoff gets in the room, they figure out a sound and they, like, it's almost like a, you know those refrigerator magnets with all the words on it? It's like that, but with music. And I feel like, like, first and foremost, she's the writer, you know? I agree with that. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:01:26 Yeah. I also want to appreciate her shout out to the only thing I liked about snow on the beach. I forgot to say it before is she gave a shout out to Janet Jackson. It's all for you like Janet. And I appreciate, I love that song. Yeah. So, it's on. Yeah. And that song is kind of vivey, like that song, if somebody Taylor-Smith, could fit on this out.
Starting point is 02:01:44 I like that song. I liked that song. I wanted more from it. Yeah. It's absolutely like, like, this is be trying was a similar one for me. I saw the headline the title, This Is Be Trying. I was like, oh, this is going to fucking crush me. And it didn't really. And I was kind of hoping for the same. It does if you're in the right mood. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It'll get you. That is true. Okay. Any final thoughts? I think that wraps it up for. Oh, this comes out today. Yeah. This podcast. Tonight she's on Jimmy Fallon
Starting point is 02:02:10 And at midnight we get another video Either it's gonna be I don't know if it's gonna be a song do people think it's gonna be I don't know if it's gonna be a People are convinced it's gonna be a whole visual album Like Lemonade Beyonce People are convinced that to me I mean I would die
Starting point is 02:02:21 I'm so late again If I'm watching when I watch that teaser trailer Whatever we obviously I saw all the Pieces that we now know are from the anti-hero music video but there were so many other costumes and scenes and sequences That made me think like how many videos Yeah like how many videos
Starting point is 02:02:36 how many scenes are in one video. So I wonder if it's like maybe a combination of songs or I can't imagine her doing a whole like that's massive. But wow, would that be something? So I'm excited. There's that and then she's on the Graham Norton show in a couple days. And I think that finally that fucking put it back on that one.
Starting point is 02:02:53 I love it. And I, yeah, no, she does. She does. Whoa, slow down. I love when she goes on the Graham Norton show.
Starting point is 02:03:01 She's so fun on that show. But so then I think after that, then I think the tour to Midnights is pretty much over. It's like a full week. of marketing other videos come out I am interested also if people would like to keep track
Starting point is 02:03:12 I just haven't because it's happened at midnight because it dropped at midnight like midnight I knew exactly how many steps I danced to this song it was 2,643 and I'm interested to see
Starting point is 02:03:23 how many steps other people will dance to that's nice John that gives people up and moving I love that I'm a next morning I was like oh shit I was so many steps already
Starting point is 02:03:36 I was on the porch dancing to Taylor all night You know my problem is It's a lot of steps in two hours I was also just laying in, I was just like this was me Like I was just laying in bed And as soon as the album came out I was just like play
Starting point is 02:03:49 And I sat like this like for like an hour Yeah, yeah Gotta do it I do the immediate laptop lyrics I'm like alright laptop lyrics And I read along Like I open them all up at once And as the songs go by
Starting point is 02:04:00 I just like read along with them It's weird I do that I just casually the number two. Play and see where it goes. I'll listen straightforward without it, and then second listen is when I'll go deeper into lyrics.
Starting point is 02:04:15 I had to wait a while for the right lyrics. Genius took kind of a while to put the lyrics out. They must not have in advance. All right. Next Monday, Drake and 21 Sab for loss. Can't wait. Well, same group. Same group.

Yes, but we are joined by the lovely Sydney and Rachel, who are taking time out of their day, out of the medical field, to play trivia with us. So thanks, guys. Thanks for having us.
Starting point is 02:06:10 I love that. They made that sound so serious. Yeah, there is. They are important. Exactly. And they're taking the time out to play trivia. Yep. So it's a lot.
Starting point is 02:06:19 Okay. Very straightforward. 15 rounds. If you get the question right, you get a point. Whoever is the most points at the end wins. If you get a question wrong, the other team can steal the points. And to determine who goes first, Noah's going to give us a movie. We're going to guess the Rotten Tomato score.
Starting point is 02:06:36 Critics score, whoever is closest. We'll get to go first. We will alternate guesses. So, Noah, what is today's movie? Today's movie is The Internship with Vince Vaughan and Owen Wilson. Yes. I have never seen that movie. Are we starting? Yes, one guest from you guys.
Starting point is 02:06:56 I have no idea. I'm going to go 65%. This is the one where they're at Google, right? I've never seen it. I've definitely seen it. I'm going to go... I'm going to go... 22%. I'm going to go 18?
Starting point is 02:07:14 I'm going to go 4.4. 47. 35%. All right, so question number one to Ria and Fran. Shout out Addie from Massachusetts. What actor did the fraternity brothers in the movie Neighbors dress up as? Um, wait, repeat that? What actor did the fraternity brothers in the movie neighbors?
Starting point is 02:07:41 Oh, Robert De Niro. They all dressed as different versions of Robert De Niro. I've never seen neighbors. What? Mm-hmm. Really? I'm so surprised by that. I think I saw it like maybe it was on TV once, but I never like...
Starting point is 02:07:53 Robert De Niro, final answer. Correct. I had no idea. No idea. Yeah. Dave Franco, he does, he says. Yeah. You're talking to me.
Starting point is 02:08:04 You talking to me. All right, one nothing, Ria and Fran. Question number two to Rachel and Sydney. Shout out Kelly from Cleveland, Ohio. In the original gossip girl, what food did Rufus Humphers? free always make. I want to say grilled cheese. I just don't know if that's right. I have not watched Gossip Girl in
Starting point is 02:08:31 ages. I have nothing. I like grilled cheese. I mean, it would either be that or like a pasta. Something eats. I don't know. I don't remember if he's a good cook. I don't either. And everyone can make it grilled cheese. Let's stick with it. Fine by me.
Starting point is 02:08:49 Grill cheese, final answer. Dang. But Jenny. This is your favorite. Why do I want to say chili? Yes. I don't know. I like that answer, though.
Starting point is 02:08:59 Let's go with chili. Because when she said grilled cheese, I was like, shit, it's definitely grilled cheese. Go chili. Chili? I don't have another guess, so I like chili. All right. We're going chili. Final answer.
Starting point is 02:09:09 Incorrect. Waffles. Waffles. But Jenny, I made your favorite waffles. Yeah. Why did chili sense? Like, chili just seemed like something Rufus would make. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:09:20 Also, when you said chili, I thought, shit, she's right. When he said chilely, I was like, when they said grilled cheese, I like picture at him flipping grilled cheese. I was like, it's grilled cheese. Flipping waffles. Yeah, it's waff. Maybe waffle. Yeah, whatever. Whatever.
Starting point is 02:09:34 Waffle maker. Gossip girl questions have not been our forte. I know. All right. Still 1-0-0-0. Question number three to Rianfrann. Shout out Cassidy from Memphis. Where did Courtney Kardashian graduate from college?
Starting point is 02:09:48 Arizona State. Arizona State? Arizona State or Arizona. Arizona State. Arizona State. Arizona State. Arizona State. Arizona State. I mean, I think it's Arizona. No, it's definitely somewhere in Arizona. And I don't know any college in Arizona except for Arizona State. So let's just go. Is there a University of Arizona? I'm going to offend some people from Arizona right now. Yeah. Let's go University of Arizona. or Arizona University. Final answer. Correct.
Starting point is 02:10:24 University of Arizona. Thank you for that answer. Rietta and Fran. It is. Oh, yeah, she didn't. University of Arizona. Whatever. All right.
Starting point is 02:10:34 Tied up at one. This is question number four to Rachel and Sydney. Shout out Janie from Pittsburgh. When Snape dramatically enters the room for class and the prisoner of Ascaban, what page does you tell everyone to turn to several times? It's all you under. 392. Hold on.
Starting point is 02:10:58 Turn to page 392. That sounds right. I don't, I probably shouldn't second guess it. Hey, you go with your gut. It ends with a two, but that's not that helpful. 10 seconds. 392, final answer. Incorrect.
Starting point is 02:11:19 394. Turn to page 3994. 394. four final answer. Correct. Dang. Two pages off. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:11:31 So close. All right. Two one, reinfran. And this question is to reenfranch. Shout at Devin from New York City. This are Devin's? Yes.
Starting point is 02:11:43 Oh, nice. I'm excited to see what this question was because she was talking about the other day. And I tried, she said I sent in a question and I said, was it from your TikTok for you page? Because I was trying to like manifest my for you. page bringing me this question. I don't think it happened though. Yeah. Okay. Which of these artists was not nominated for best new artists at the 2007 Grammys? A. Taylor Swift.
Starting point is 02:12:09 2007. B. Paramore. C. Amy Winehouse. D. Adele. This was on my 4U page. Adel and Amy Winehouse were in the same, they were both nominated the same year. Wait, name it again? So it was Taylor Swift, Paramore, Adele, Amy Winehouse. Because there was a TikTok where it was like, I can't believe Amy Winehouse and blah, blah, blah, were nominated in the same year. So I think... So it's not... Which one was not?
Starting point is 02:12:38 Which one was not? One of the four was not nominated that year. So Taylor Swift, Adele, Amy Winehouse, and Paramour. I think Paramore. Or Taylor Swift. Wouldn't the TikTok have included Taylor Swift? Five seconds. They were all on the same.
Starting point is 02:12:54 category. Should we take away Taylor Swift? All right, Tyler Swift. Taylor Swift. Final answer. Incorrect. Fuck! We repeat the question. Yes. Which of these artists
Starting point is 02:13:06 was not nominated for Best New Artist at the 2007 Grammys? A, Taylor Swift, B, Paramore, C, Amy Winehouse, D. Adele. Is it Paramore? I feel like it is, especially if they saw a TikTok that Amy Winehouse and Adele being nominated
Starting point is 02:13:25 to St. Me, it only makes sense. and I feel like 2007 was when Adele started, right? So I was karaoke and Adele in 2008, so. All right, let's go Paramore. Paramore, final answer. Also incorrect.
Starting point is 02:13:44 Oh, the TikTok was wrong. No, no. No, you remember the TikTok incorrectly because the TikTok said, I can't believe Taylor Swift and Amy Winehouse were nominated and San Diego. Adele and Paramore was also nominated earlier. Adel was nominated in 2009.
Starting point is 02:14:00 Okay. Yeah, 2007 was a little early for Adele. Fuck, I've remembered the TikToking correctly, but it did come up on my page. That's wild. Was it after we talked about it? No, no. I just remember schooling past, or maybe it was, I can't remember, but I definitely schooled it past it. What a red herring. I thought that was, I thought that was early for Taylor Swift. Yeah. I don't remember Taylor Swift that early. Your drops on my guitar came out when I was a freshman in college. That's about right.
Starting point is 02:14:27 Yeah. All right. Still, to one, Rianne Fran. This question is to Rachel and Sydney. Shout out, Brooke from Columbia, South Carolina. Which of the following has not been named people's sexiest men alive? A. Leonard DiCaprio, B. Matt Damon.
Starting point is 02:14:48 C. Ryan Reynolds, D. Ben Affleck. Okay. I feel like Ryan Reynolds definitely has to have been. And so is Leo. I agree. I feel like just take those off. Between Matt Damon and Ben Affleck? I think...
Starting point is 02:15:06 My gut is telling me Matt Damon, because... Has not been voted? Has not been, but now I'm, like, regretting all of my decisions. I don't know. I feel like we go with Ben Affleck. Okay, let's do it.
Starting point is 02:15:21 Okay, Ben Affleck's final answer. I feel like the answer's Leo, because he wouldn't accept being... He would be like, I don't want to be involved. I don't want to be people's sexiest man. Yeah. Like he's like, don't put me on your cover. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:15:33 I'm too good for this shit. I don't do superhero movies and I don't do people sex as man. Exactly. I was on the same page. That is the thought I had as well. So I feel like we should go with it. What else do we have to lose this point? We've got nothing to lose.
Starting point is 02:15:46 We're going to go Leo. Correct. Nice. Oh, dang. Stop trusting me. I thought for sure. Yeah. You wouldn't think.
Starting point is 02:15:54 But you definitely would think, and he should be, but he also, you know, thinks he's above a lot of things. I didn't know you could just deny it. Oh. Oh, yeah. Okay. Because you got to sign up to do the interview and all that stuff. Question number seven. Hocus pocus.
Starting point is 02:16:11 Just kidding. It's not. All right. You're going to get like a pen in your eye. Okay. Go ahead, Noah. Question number seven. Shout out Jessica from Jersey.
Starting point is 02:16:29 Members of what boy band were featured in the viral Call Me Maybe video with Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez and Ashley Tisdale. Big time rush. You are so passionate on that. We're going to slap that with the final answer. Big time rush. Correct. Nice.
Starting point is 02:16:46 I did not know that one. I could see it all over you down. Don't ask me. Wow. I love Justin Bieber. I was ready. I'm hyped. I just got that one.
Starting point is 02:16:57 Finally, I was useful at some point. All right. 4-1, Rianne Fran. Question number 8 to Rachel and Sydney. Shout out Stephanie from Ontario, Canada. What is the next line in this Drake song? Trying to keep it peaceful is a struggle for me. The following line.
Starting point is 02:17:24 Benders, you got anything? I can hear it. I can too, and I just can't. I clearly don't work well under pressure anymore. Peaceful. I need one more line. I swear it's like something about $50 with me. Five seconds.
Starting point is 02:17:47 That might be the... Wait, repeat the line real fast. Trying to keep it peaceful is a struggle for me. All right, time is thought. It's something I keep $50 with me. I'm so disappointed at myself. Final answer. It's exact.
Starting point is 02:18:03 So actually, this was the last song I listened to before I got out of my car today. I think it's nonstop. That's so weird. What? That's really weird. But I don't... I think it's from the song, nonstop.
Starting point is 02:18:13 By drink. Oh, okay. I don't know what that is. I'm trying to... Wait, or it's from, it might not be that. Hold on. 10 seconds. No, no, it's not from, it's actually not. Ah, my brain is confused between two songs right now.
Starting point is 02:18:30 I don't know, I don't know. I don't know. We just don't know it, okay? We just don't know. Is it from God's plan? Time is up. To finish the lyric. I know, I know. But now I'm stuck on the song. It's over, but yes, it is from God's plan. Yeah. And it's trying to keep it peaceful as a struggle for me. don't pull up at 6 a.m. to cuddle with me.
Starting point is 02:18:49 A dry lyric is so hard. I would have been, it's so hard. Yeah, I would have said it's from God's point. What do you have known? Yeah, I was, I was going with a different song, and then at the end I realized that it was from a different song, and then I got all confused. I got confusing.
Starting point is 02:19:06 Because I was rapping the other one. But actually, I wouldn't have gotten that. I don't think I would have gotten that. Hey, Rhea, my favorite moment from trivia is when you started singing a different. song that last game and I was not. What song was I singing? The question was about something unrelated and Fran's like,
Starting point is 02:19:22 shut up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes, you started saying that. I was like, that's the wrong song. Right, right, right. Yep, yep. My bad. Okay. Oh, my brain just got so confused. Still four oneery and Fran and this question is to them. Shout out Mallory from New Jersey. Mallory?
Starting point is 02:19:39 I think we've done this before. Or wait, isn't Mallory? I don't know. I'm just. But I just. Malroy. No, I guess it's Mallory. It's Mallory. It's Mallory.
Starting point is 02:19:49 M-A-L-L-O-R-Y. M-A-L-L-R-Y. Mallory. Mallory? I'm going to keep my thoughts myself. So sorry, Mallory. If you're listening, we are so sorry. Malloroy.
Starting point is 02:20:04 Mallory. He went with Malloroy. Next question. Okay. It's funny because a lot of the emails that people send in, they actually are not saying, Here's how, like they write it out for me. They're giving you the phonetics.
Starting point is 02:20:17 Yeah. Spelling it out. But I still don't. I just, I don't know. Okay. You don't care enough to get their names right. From New Jersey. Well, I just don't want to bring that phonetical way of, like, with it.
Starting point is 02:20:32 Then there's too much text on the screen. Okay. Sure. Okay. What Justin Bieber song is about the false claims he fathered a fan's child? I haven't listened. I actually have not listened to, like, a single Justin Bieber song in so long.
Starting point is 02:20:52 Father to fan's child. I didn't even know about this situation but I know they know it, which is why I'm dying to get an answer out there. It's just, I don't even know. It's not me in a name of a song? Oh.
Starting point is 02:21:07 It wasn't me. It wasn't me. Shaggy. By Justin Bieber. Bye Shaggy. I got nothing. Okay. See you. Go, Downey. This is you, baby.
Starting point is 02:21:17 It's Maria. Final answer. Correct. Go. Correct. Wow. Well done. Justin Bieber mustn't like the name Maria.
Starting point is 02:21:26 What album is that on? It's on Believe. It's like right at the end of Believe. Oh, you know, I went to the Believe tour like four times. I should really know. But he doesn't play that song. No. It's like a rendition of Billy Jean, like Michael Jackson.
Starting point is 02:21:42 Yeah. Yes. Okay. Yes. Justin Bieber is now a part of two songs with the name Maria and the title. How do you guys feel about that? Maria. She's just
Starting point is 02:21:51 Maria. Trying to send something. What? Yeah, Maria. I thought you said Marie for a second. No, Maria. Yeah, Maria. He's part of two songs as Maria in the time.
Starting point is 02:21:59 The other ones that's Travis Scott, right? Yeah. Okay. 4-2, Rian Fran. And this question is to Rachel and Sydney. I'm going to play a movie clip. And you tell me what movie it's from. You have no reason to be mad at me.
Starting point is 02:22:13 I mean, you know, you broke my heart. I should be royally ticked off at you. You know, I should be really cheased off. I shouldn't want to talk to you anymore. Okay, that's the guy and Superbad with not Jonah Hill, but the other guy. Michael Sarah. I'm thinking, clearly it's like a rom-com vibe. Like, he's in Juno, right?
Starting point is 02:22:42 I, yeah, I went straight to Superbad, but I don't think that's what it is. I don't think it's, I don't think that's super bad. So my options are Juno, or there's that other one he's in with that cute girl. from that waitress show. I don't even know the name of that. I like the G-no option. I'm down for it. Okay, G-no, final answer.
Starting point is 02:23:01 Correct. Let's go. You were, what's the other? Zach and Mendy make a porn? No, that's no, infinite playlist. So what about the mixtape one? That's the one I was thinking, but the other one. I just forget what it's called.
Starting point is 02:23:16 I think that's the one that's, is that not what playlist? Wait. In fact, Scott Pilgrim? Is that what you're thinking? Scott Programme saves the world? No, I'm not thinking of that. That's not what I was thinking of. What's the one that is?
Starting point is 02:23:30 Do you think that's play? Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist? Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist. That's the movie I'm doing. Is Michael Sarah in that? Yeah. Okay, yeah. If I could have thought of that, I probably would have picked that.
Starting point is 02:23:40 I'm glad I didn't. I'm also glad you didn't. Getting close now. That's a good poll. I don't think I would have gotten that. What do you have said super bad? No. Okay.
Starting point is 02:23:52 Question number 11. 4-3 Rian Fran. Shout out Kira from Philly. This is to Rianfrant. What was the name of Richard's singing group from when he was a student at Yale? Richard who? What? Who the fuck is Richard?
Starting point is 02:24:09 Hold on. I was just thinking the same thing when I was reading the question. Oh, this is a Gilmore Girls question. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, I never watched Gilmore Girls, so count me out of this one. Yeah, that was Gilmore Girls from Gilmore Girls. The fucking, I don't know. I don't know. I've never watched Gilmore Girls.
Starting point is 02:24:32 Belt and Bulldogs. I have no friggin' idea. I have no idea. I got nothing. That's my guess. A good guess. Yeah, right? That would be, I want Yale should have that as they're saying. Rachel and Sydney. I have not watched Gilmore Girls in so long. I've recently watched it, but I have the Vera recollection. Who's Richard? I don't even remember who. The Grandpa. Who? Yeah. So I feel like it would be something class. or something to do with Yale. I don't even know who the mascot of Yale is.
Starting point is 02:25:06 Bulldogs. Five seconds. What's the name of the bulldogs? The boisterous bulldogs. Sure. Sure. I don't answer. I don't know.
Starting point is 02:25:16 It's whiff and poofs. Sure. Never. Never would. Not coming up with that one. It sounds familiar now that you say, but once I've also not watched Gilmer Girls in far too long. Okay.
Starting point is 02:25:29 4-3. And Fran in this question is to... It's clearly a time for a rewatch. Rachel and Sydney. Shout out Lauren from Fort Worth. Rank these former Disney artists for Spotify monthly listeners from most to least listeners.
Starting point is 02:25:44 Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez. From both to least, correct? Yes. I want to go... I'm between Jonas Brothers and Miley.
Starting point is 02:26:03 for number one I think I don't know man if I was listening I would pick Jonas, Miley Selena Demi
Starting point is 02:26:16 but I feel like people like Demi Lovato a lot I think I don't know man I think people love Selena a lot Yeah you've got to keep an eye out for Selena
Starting point is 02:26:26 Okay I Okay let's do Joe Okay what do you say You do Amenders I pick, okay, I'll do it I pick
Starting point is 02:26:40 Jonas, Miley, Selina Dimmie final answer. Thank you. Dang. I, I weirdly think Selena's number one. Just because she has so many fans. She has people fucking love
Starting point is 02:26:54 Selena Gomez. So maybe I like what you wrote Selena and I don't know where Jonas falls. But Jonas, like they're new, like they have so many new songs. I know. But I think Miley
Starting point is 02:27:08 Yeah How many times Parting the USA is Right, right So should we go Selina Milie Jonas I like what you go down Let's go Selena
Starting point is 02:27:17 Milie Jonas Demi Incorrect It's Selena Miley Demi Jonas Ah Oh wow I was
Starting point is 02:27:28 I was yeah Damn That's what I was thinking Of maybe switching those two Frick Well you know what That is not my order I'm glad that I put
Starting point is 02:27:36 Selina number one Just I just the fact that the guy Yeah, that's right. Yeah. Which is surprising, I feel like, she doesn't even put out music anymore. But people fucking love Selena. The Selena fans go hard.
Starting point is 02:27:47 Yeah. All right. Still 4-3, Rian Fran. This is question number 13 to Rian Fran. Shout up Felicia from Massachusetts. Name this year. Finding Nemo was released. In the Club, 5.50 Cent is released.
Starting point is 02:28:05 And Amanda Binds, the Olson Twins, Mandy Moore and six other team stars were on the cover of the July issue of Fannity Fair. 2002? 2001. Finding Nemo. I was definitely like... Ten seconds. My guess would be three or four.
Starting point is 02:28:45 Time is tough. Let's go 2003. 2003, final answer. Direct. Wow. Dang. That was clutch. Damn.
Starting point is 02:28:54 I can't believe we got that. We never get the year. We never get the year ones. All right. 5-3, Rianfrann. Rachel and Sidney are going to have to get the final two questions to write to get this to overtime. Oh, Lord. No pressure.
Starting point is 02:29:07 Okay. And this question is two. Rachel and Sydney, shout out Megan. Which NFL team logo does Harry Staless have a tattoo of? Chargers. Nothing. Do you feel that in your soul? It's chargers?
Starting point is 02:29:25 No, but I... The first thing I thought of, that doesn't mean anything, clearly. I've been wrong on all the other first ones I think of. I have no idea. Or we just feel like really rogue, like Miami Dauphin's funny? Five seconds. Probably not right. I like to.
Starting point is 02:29:43 Let's, we'll stick with the charger. I like the vibes. Let's do Chargers final answer. I don't know what this is. I don't know, but my first thought was Rams. But Noah laughed, so now I know that's wrong. Yeah, I like that guess. But he laughed.
Starting point is 02:30:02 Every time he laughs. No, I just laugh because everyone laughed. I don't, I don't know. I have no, what would he have? 10 seconds. Packers, Seahawks, Falcon. Like, what? Five seconds.
Starting point is 02:30:15 Is it a bird? I didn't even know we had that. That would really be upsetting. Time is up. We're going to go with the Rams, final answer. Incorrect. Packers. Oh, for some reason, my gut was telling me Packers.
Starting point is 02:30:33 It's right on his bicep. I... Oh, friend. Is that a piece of cheese? No, it's the logo. Well, I knew that I... It says it dates back to 2012 or 2013 when he made a wager with friends, he said, if they win the game, then I'll get a Packer's tattoo. I knew that.
Starting point is 02:30:51 That's my... I didn't know he was a football fan. Came into my mind. All right. All right, well, that's a victory. That's a victory, but we'll do the final question. Dang. Okay. This final question to re-enfranch out Megan from Norwich, Connecticut.
Starting point is 02:31:08 What Netflix show that aired from 2017 to 2020 was Selena Gomez an executive producer of? Oh, um, 13. 13 reasons why. 13 reasons why. Final answer. All right. Another W, the 6-3 final score. Hey, at least we didn't do sag.
Starting point is 02:31:31 Hey, that was a good game. That was a close one. I thought you had us there for a second. I wish I would have gotten thrown the 2003 question. I was feeling that in my, I felt that in my soul in 2003. Well, you guys were great. You pulled Juno out of your ass.
