Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, Chicks in the Office listeners. You can find every episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or YouTube. Prime members can listen ad-free on Amazon Music. It's with Ria and Fran giving you that Friday energy on a Friday. And it is the episode that owner has been waiting for. We will get into the Outer Bank season to recap, as well as a great interview with Lala Kent. But first, Francesca, how are we doing today? Up and down week for Fray.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Down week. For me too. I'll join you. I don't know if like, I don't know, I don't know what's going on. It's just one of those weeks, funky. I'm like, and, you know, that time of the month, I don't know what's going on, but I'm like crying at everything, not crying at things. Things are mattering too much.
Starting point is 00:01:03 I'm just getting angry. Emotions are all over the board. I came in here this week because I finished high school musical, the musical, the series, season two. And I don't know why, but like the, I'm not going to, in case anybody even cares about spoilers for the show, they sing like, you are the music in me at the end. And for some reason, it just had me like bursting into tears. But the, and then as the night went on, I just kept singing the song to myself and it was
Starting point is 00:01:36 making me so emotional. I came in here and was like, Rhea, does that song ever make you cry? And you were like, no, what's really? wrong with you? I never said no. I just, the way that you phrased it was has, do you ever hear the song, you were the music of me and it makes a cry. Yeah. The setting that you described it and would make me cry. Right. But that's what started, but then I, it didn't, it didn't go away. You know what I'm saying? Like, then I kept listening to the song and like, that is also a top five song for me that when I sing it out loud alone, I think I sound really good. Yeah. That's a.
Starting point is 00:02:11 top five for me. Yeah, because it's a lower register at the beginning. So you can kind of sing, talk it, and you're like, fuck, this sounds good. Yeah, that is a good one. You know the words once upon a time make you listen. There's a reason.
Starting point is 00:02:29 And when you dream, there's a chance you'll find a little laughter or happy ever after. Yeah, and once it starts to go up then it loses. But the I started getting... With the low?
Starting point is 00:02:43 I'm telling you, it was making me emotional. I'm having a very weird week. Weird week. Tears are forming in my eyes. And I'm trying not to open them. I'm having a very weird week. Trying not to open my eyes.
Starting point is 00:02:54 No, I know. Tears are forming right now. Honestly, I will say I'm having a weird week as well. Yeah. I'm just hiding it a bit better. Yeah. I've been riding a high like no other. It's taken a hit this week.
Starting point is 00:03:06 Yeah. Well, look. You can't be that high all the time. Exactly. You can't ride that high. not have a little bit of a little bit of a come down at some point. Yeah, the come down hit this week. Yeah. But I'm still doing great. Yes. But not as like I was like really fucking high like prior to this week. But I think your emotions, everybody's emotions right now are all over the place. And I think that's just, I think that's just how this week is going.
Starting point is 00:03:34 We're tossing this week up as an L. Yeah. Not everyone's going to be a W. This one's an L. I know. Too much anxiety stress like about silly stuff. That's what I'm trying to help you with. I know, I know. But it's like, for example, like I... Who would have thought? I know. Look at the turntables.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Literally the turntables. Literally, we had the funniest conversation at our desk yesterday about this. For example, I, in the, like the pressure I'm putting on myself right now, I don't know what it is, whether it's our show or like other work stuff or like other stuff that I'm doing, like personal life, whatever it is. I like the dozen trivia show which we do I'm on a team with Brandon and PFT and in our I'm not going to explain it too thoroughly but in our niche categories everybody gets to pick one and each team picks the other side's category you don't know what it is until you go into the game so I've had Jones Brothers's mind knowing like nobody would pick it because normally the boys pick one of the sports ones because if Brandon or PFT get it wrong then they have a chance to answer the question so I'm like nobody's going to want to want the chance to answer Jones Brothers got a question. But this week, they picked the Jones Brothers question. And I kid you not, like the, I was shaking. Like, I don't know why I was like,
Starting point is 00:04:52 let it get to me that much. But I panicked so hard where after I answered the question, I was like, am I good? Like, why am I freaking out so much? I'm almost nervous to watch it back because my I got it right. I thought it was wrong, but I got it right. And I had like, a very visceral like, fuck yeah, like reaction of just like caring way too much. Like I got so nervous because I got so nervous that like people were going to be, I was going to be so embarrassed if I got the question wrong. I'm having one of those weeks. We're on so opposite sides of the spectrum right now in terms of like, I know, just in life,
Starting point is 00:05:29 right? In life, you are on the caring about everything so, so, so much. And I'm on the, I don't care about a single. thing and we have to both meet in the middle. We need somewhere. We both got to find our way to each other in the middle because I am on the total opposite where like
Starting point is 00:05:51 nothing is phasing me at this point. Nothing, I'm like, all right, cool. Oh, that's sick. Oh, should I care about that? Don't care at all. Like I don't know what the fuck is happening. But me and you, we got to meet in the middle somewhere. We really do. I need a little bit of you and you need a little bit of me. Yeah. Absolutely. I did finish
Starting point is 00:06:12 Obviously I did finish Outer Banks though I wanted to get that out there I hope so I hope so I'm just I'm just I'm just saying the last time I talked about it
Starting point is 00:06:19 I know but everybody was like oh my god I can't believe Fran has watched yet I watched it rapidly fast in a row like what was the most six Oh six no no five five
Starting point is 00:06:29 still a lot I watched the first six and then I watched yeah I think I watched six seven eight nine ten yes in one in one sitting all right well let's get in Let's get into it. Let's just start talking about Outer Banks.
Starting point is 00:06:43 Let's get into it. Before we get into our Outer Banks recap, obviously, you're checking out the fashion of the show. They got these shirts, but they got these bracelets as well. Right now, I got the Pura Vida bracelets in front of me that I love wearing, especially in the summer. They're perfect for the summer. Throw them on your wrist. They fit perfectly with any outfit. Pura Vita is an apparel brand that's all about comfort, fun, and living life to the fullest. And you could shop now and give back with Pura Vita. Pura Vita is one of the coolest apparel. and accessory brands out there. And giving back has always been at the core of what they do. So they are known for their beautiful braided bracelets. Like I'm sure you know, I'm holding them up right now. And they're super affordable. They have bracelets starting at $6. They got rings starting at $12. And you can mix and match.
Starting point is 00:07:27 And they all just go together. And like I said, they're perfect for the summer. They're perfect for right now. Even going into the fall, they fit. These colors, these are fall colors. Okay. So you can use them in the summer, the fall, whatever you're thinking. And Madison Bailey, who will, we love from Outer Banks has her own collection of Pura Vita jewelry out right now. Collection is beautiful. And we are dying to get our hands on it because it's awesome. And you know that we love supporting this cast of Outer Banks. So guys, make sure you're out there supporting Pura Vita look good and do good to get 20% off Pura Vita apparel.
Starting point is 00:08:00 Text Chicks to 38817. That's Chicks to 388817 to get 20% off apparel at Pura Vita. Terms apply available at PuraVita Bracelots.com slash terms. Once again, text Chicks to 38817, 3887, and Pura Vita has already donated $3.5 million to charity, including $335,000 donated in disaster relief in 2020 alone. So they're doing good. Your money's going to a good place. Make sure you text chicks to $3.81817.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Okay, guys, before we get into the end. actual recap of outer banks. We got to talk about something. Obviously. Which could have something to do with my attitude. Yeah. Definitely does. I had to give Fran like a huge hug at our desk and she let out a loud growl in the
Starting point is 00:08:55 middle of the office. It was more like a growl sigh. Yeah. Yeah. It was like some. Yeah. And then let's both let one out right now. Ready?
Starting point is 00:09:03 No, I don't want to. No, I want to. I want to do it. I want to do it. I want to do it. No, but I'm not going to do it the same. No, I want like an angry. What if you actually just hug each other?
Starting point is 00:09:11 I want an angry sigh. That's scary. That was a little scary. I did some, I did sigh, but nobody could have hurt me. That was like yours. Probably sounded more like an exhale. No, that's really kind of what her sounded like. Yes.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Yeah, in the moment. And mine was more of that. Yeah. We're just flipping right now. So let's do both. It was such a visceral reaction. I'm not going to be able to recreate it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:36 So let's put it out on the table. Obviously, when season, one of Outer Banks came out, we were at the forefront of this fucking show. I put my life on the line for a character, for a TV character named John Bias and I would die for him. You know, we had it. You might have had
Starting point is 00:09:52 the first interview. We were one of the first. I mean, we might have been one of the first people to watch the show. Who knows? We're pumping this thing up because we truly love it. We love Outer Banks, obviously. Yeah. You know, we had everybody on the show and we formed
Starting point is 00:10:08 what seemed like a great relationship, which I think we probably still have. I'm just so confused about what's going on. I think so. And we love everybody on the show. This is nothing about... We're obsessed with them. Obsessed.
Starting point is 00:10:20 This is nothing about how we feel towards them. I watch every single thing that Madeline puts out. Everything. I'm obsessed with her. We're her biggest fans. We just can't get them on our show. We don't know what happened. There's been a lot of confusion.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Obviously... We have gotten so many DMs of like, when are they coming on? When are they coming on? they're not they're just not coming on there's no way know how we've tried every avenue that we can at this point yeah and they're just not coming on i don't know what we did i'm sorry if we really i don't think we did anything you know people were like oh maybe you know the merch stuff but they loved all the merch and chase and mattie were literally on the show at the beginning of
Starting point is 00:10:58 this year when they were talking about other stuff like it wasn't for outer banks but it was for other stuff i mean chase has been on three times no i know chase has been on three times. I don't know if this is Netflix or their personal teams or what's going on, but in the politest way that I can say it, we just kind of got dicked around by Netflix a little bit. Like it was first, there was all these scheduling issues, so they claimed, but we saw all the press that they were doing. So we were confused. We just wanted a straight answer. And it just seems like it was a pass. It was a big pass from the squad. The squad. So, Madeline, it's Madeline is filming.
Starting point is 00:11:35 So Madeline gets a pass. Just putting that out there. But then, okay, so this is... Look, and we understand they're all very, very busy. Yes, we're not taking that away. But we thought that, you know, we thought we mattered a little bit more. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:47 And I'd also like to say this, because there's another, there's more to the fucking story. Yeah. So obviously, if you're listening to this, then you watch the show. There's a scene in the show where they're at a bonfire
Starting point is 00:11:59 and John B. and Sarah are broken up at this point, and John B's flirting with this girl. and whatever. So as soon as people started seeing the scene, I was getting DMs, tweets. It was my immediate thought. As soon as that girl turned around and passed that note and looked at him,
Starting point is 00:12:15 I was like, that would have been Rea's role. I said the same thing while watching. I was like, this had to have been it. I didn't know that for sure, but I digress. Yeah. We're talking about it on Twitter. Somebody writes, OMG at Barcelona. Well, shout up Detroit, Sierra.
Starting point is 00:12:32 Well, I'm telling me this whole story. Yes, yes, it is. somebody writes OMG at Barcelaria your part was probably going to be the girl hits on Jambi at the bonfire I wrote trust me this hurts Fran joins in and writes
Starting point is 00:12:44 we all had the same idea and she screenshots the text message she sent me about the same thing yeah yeah Sierra from Detroit at Detroit Sierra jumps in and goes literally just had Chase in our studio and he confirmed
Starting point is 00:12:58 this was the role I'm mad for you so this is when I absolutely lost my fucking shit and dropped to the ground and almost passed out because first of all, I feel like my heart was ripped out and stomped on, but I also feel honored at the same time
Starting point is 00:13:10 that there was a real role in consideration because if you look back... Isn't that crazy? Like, they are saying that they fully discussed this. Well, I'm going to read the messages. Yeah. So obviously, if you listened to the interview with Chase a couple months ago,
Starting point is 00:13:24 Chase said that he had sat down with the director and talked about a role for me and ended up not working out because of COVID restrictions, all this stuff. I'm assuming this girl must have been in the area or whatever. That's what I'm telling myself. So I DM Detroit Sierra because I wanted to know what happened.
Starting point is 00:13:37 And she wrote, he came in our studio this morning for the show today. And I made sure to tell him I started watching because of you. And he was like, yeah, she literally had a whole marking campaign for the show. And I was like, fuck yeah, she did. And then he was like, we legitimately talked about finding her a role in season two. And I said, yeah, I remember hearing that. And he goes, yeah, you know the bonfire scene? That was the role.
Starting point is 00:13:59 That was the role. And she said, oh, my God, that would have been perfect. And he said, I know. but unfortunately we couldn't get it worked out blah blah blah blah so this is where I'm confused though they're in Orlando Detroit Sierra but they're in Orlando
Starting point is 00:14:13 talking about this because he clearly has nice things to say about you like you know they discussed this they brought this up they legitimately considered putting you on the show not that long ago and now what happened
Starting point is 00:14:32 we don't know what happened We don't know what happened And we just want to be honest with everybody Because we see everybody being like Where are the interviews? You know, we're the Outer Banks people We got left on red We were literally flown anywhere
Starting point is 00:14:43 Yeah We were gonna go to L.A. We got left on red We did get left on red And I wanted to because we We really tried to exhaust all options Because we were like We really really obviously want to have them on
Starting point is 00:14:53 And we had so much fun with them And I think everybody loved Like watching them on the show Like when we did it for season one But just didn't pan out this season. It didn't, but maybe next season. Maybe next season. I would say maybe I'll get on next season.
Starting point is 00:15:09 But they won't even come on the show, so I don't think I got a role for season 3. You want to make us feel better about it. Go buy our merch. Go buy our merch. Also, if they want to make it up to us, throw me a roll in season 3. Our schedule is open. The invite is still open. Yeah, by the way, we love, once again, we love them. We have no issue with them.
Starting point is 00:15:27 We just don't know what happened. If they said to us, no, it really was scheduling stuff. We really wanted to make it work. Then okay, but I don't. I don't believe that. I don't believe it either because I feel like one cast member at least has some time. And, you know, they are, they're very well known now. They have teams of people working for them.
Starting point is 00:15:44 So it's like if they, I'm sure, got so many offers for publicity and doing interviews and whatnot for this season that I want to be surprised if the actors themselves didn't even know what was going on. Like if just their publicists are like, hey, these are the shows. These are the shows you guys are doing and gives them a whole list and they don't really think twice about it. Remember when the Jonas Brothers came on and Kevin Jonas was like, when we had like a meeting about what shows we're going to do, I was like, we have to do chicks in the office. Yeah, Kevin did say that. Not everyone's Kevin Jonas. No, I know. Not everyone is Kevin Jonas.
Starting point is 00:16:20 Not everyone could be. Oh, wait. That's right. Oh, he is on the wall. He is on the wall. But he's, honestly, the top thing doesn't show up on the YouTube. No. Shit.
Starting point is 00:16:31 All right. Anyways, there's a bunch of merch, store.orgal sports.com. And we're going to talk about the season because I fucking loved it. We still loved it. We still loved out of banks. So, I mean, would I die for John B? I don't know at this point, but, whoa.
Starting point is 00:16:44 Whoa. Wow. Oh, no, but that, see, that for me, that for me has not changed show-wise. I'm, I was, I was making a joke. No, no, I know. I know. But JJ's stock has gone out. Oh, but I think maybe if it was JJ and John B.
Starting point is 00:17:00 I know. Season one, it was, it was a joke. was so much clear John B, but now it's... No, if you gave me the option right now, you could save one, I'm dying for JJ. And I... Wow. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:13 I'm dying for JJ. At this point, look, this is our public decoration. Please, we would still love to have you on our show. I still love you guys. Please come on the show. Anyways, let's get into the Outer Bank Season 2 recap. We're going to start off by talking about our top five most ridiculous but amazing but amazing moments so if you haven't if you haven't finished the season i don't
Starting point is 00:17:37 even know why you're still listening to this because we are going to talk about everything we're talking about everything let's do our top five we have we don't know what each other we don't in no particular order in no particular order you didn't put yours in order i can't put mine in okay okay then we're this is what we're sticking with in no particular order here are our top five most ridiculous but amazing moments on Outer Bank season two. Who wants to go first? I'll go first. You go first.
Starting point is 00:18:06 Okay. Number five for me. Also, I'm going to say, I guess mine also aren't really in order either. And so in no specific order. I'm going to start with key screaming murderer at Ward after he straight
Starting point is 00:18:26 up murdered someone in the middle of the street. Trying to catch him on camera. and thinking screaming murder at him was the best way, which also, it's kind of a combined one. It's really just that whole scene in general and the fact that that camcorder was working in the rain and it only broke when it fell. And this also ties in with my next one. The next one is the security guards in episode one, or going into episode two, when
Starting point is 00:18:56 Sarah turns the sprinklers on or the hose, whatever it is to spray the phone so that ward can't see John B. in the FaceTime. Yeah. Nobody's phone glitches like that anymore. No, they know. They work. The phone, the phone went black. It went staticy.
Starting point is 00:19:12 Everybody's got iPhones on this show. Everybody, you're telling me that camcorder, that, whatever that video camera was, that Pope was using worked in the pouring rain, but that security guard's phone got a little wet and just completely glitched. iPhones are waterproof these days. Yeah, they are. I know. That made me laugh.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Okay. And then the next one I have is the murder weapon being touched by a billion people and left in a storm drain for who knows how long. Yes. They were all touching it with their bare hands, killed multiple people with it. The best, my favorite moment, because I watch this episode twice, is JJ picks up, like when Key takes the gun out of her pants when she gets out of the sewer. J.J. puts the gun like in a bandana,
Starting point is 00:20:08 but then holds the gun in the part that the bandana isn't covering. So many mistakes. So many fingerprints. So when the FBI set that for ballistics and they were like, the finger we know we got them. It was like a billion people have touched that. And that gun was in the sewer for quite some time. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:25 The next one I have is, there's so many that I just, okay. The next one I have is Jombie. I'm not even going to I'm not even going to say the Like I feel like the ending of the show goes unsaid It doesn't need to be put in the top five right Like that was so preposterous
Starting point is 00:20:44 That's where I had it in my top We think that's a mutual mutual mutual number one We all we're okay How about we have our top fives and then number one at the top Is that's him Yes that's by far okay Okay then I have these then I'll go in order These are my last two
Starting point is 00:20:58 John B getting straight up destroyed by an allegation wrapping his leg up and that was it. He was totally fine. He got tossed like a rag doll in that water. Yep. And they were like, wrap him up, put him on the container ship. He's good.
Starting point is 00:21:18 He was running. He's fighting people. Just imagine him under the water. He doesn't even have a limp. Wrestling an alligator and he comes out alive. That's fucking crazy. He doesn't even have a limp. Also, do alligators like growl?
Starting point is 00:21:31 Because like that alligator sounds like a monster? I know, I know it did. and no that killed me because and that was the one that was my biggest almost my biggest one because I was like I just don't understand how they how he could have got bit by an alligator and then it was like running fighting people like no nothing he was totally fine okay and then my last one is it's hard because it's tough it's between the lifeboat that takes them to an abandoned island and they're all fine or the fact that Cleo
Starting point is 00:22:09 just happened to be working on the container ship. Please do No, no, I'll, okay. Which one do you want on your list? I'll save mine then. You didn't mention it. Okay, okay. Okay, okay. Cleo
Starting point is 00:22:23 and I loved it, Cleo popping up at all the best moments was fantastic and that's just the way the show is. I mean, it's a same way, no, save it. No, no, no, no. Yeah. And it's the same with like them just, you know, randomly living on like randomly bumping into all of them on the street in Charleston, but the, oh, and I forgot one, but maybe it's on yours.
Starting point is 00:22:43 Okay. Okay, so that's mine. So I'm going to go again. It was the key screaming murder award with the camera working in the rain into the security guard's phone not working when it got a little wet, into the murder weapon being touched by so many people and left in a storm drain to... What was my next one? Oh, John B, getting bit by the alligator and Cleo just so happens to work on the container ship to who knows what private island they're going to.
Starting point is 00:23:16 I love this. I'd rather not even discuss the rest of the show. I'd rather just talk about the ridiculous moments. Yeah. All right. In no particular order. Kiarra and Pope fucking. Mm. There is no way. Hope was laying it down on Kiara. He was way too scared and timid. The only thing those two bonded over was some environmental shit. There was no chemistry. But isn't that what happened?
Starting point is 00:23:40 They did. And then she was like, she wasn't satisfied. Right. But that's what I'm saying. The fact that even fucked in the first place. Crazy. Yeah. Sarah Cameron saying the last time that she had a phone was before they got lost on the boat.
Starting point is 00:23:57 But in season one, none of their phones worked. None of their phones were because they had no service. Yeah. That was nuts. Yep. There's no sense in the other man. That was so nuts. Sarah Cameron.
Starting point is 00:24:11 Yeah. Getting shot. And then coming back to life and eating watermelon on later on in the day. Like nothing ever happened. How did she come back to life? She came back to life. She came back to life. It's a power of love, Noah.
Starting point is 00:24:23 Please, do you want to understand? And the fact that also the best part of that was that she was just like walking she's like I'm fine I'm good straight up shot in the abdomen also waited to tell John B like till he like parked somewhere like how much time went by where she's like I'm shot like 30 minutes went by she was like by the way I got shot by the way and then it's just eating watermelon later on in the day like nothing never happened um 17 year old John B getting sentenced to the death penalty that was on that was What?
Starting point is 00:24:58 Are you joking? They have no evidence about this man. Killing? No evidence. The only. Sheriff Peterkin. And they're like, death sentence. The only clip we had of the trial was John B.
Starting point is 00:25:13 were sentenced to the death penalty. Not even you're going to prison for 50 years. You are going to die. I guess what they said was what? Maximum sentence, death penalty. That would be like the worst case scenario. Yeah, yeah, yeah. which was crazy but it was like
Starting point is 00:25:28 because we just didn't see any other clip of it. Yeah, yeah, of course, of course. And that also kind of ties in with Ward trying to pay off the cop to murder John B. in prison. Right, right. There's so many that go without saying like John B's dad,
Starting point is 00:25:45 Ward Cameron still being alive. Like those are just obvious ones. This one I kind of have a tie here. It's kind of the same thing you had. I'm a little stuck. Rath trying to drown Sarah Cameron and then Topper, who we haven't seen at all, it just so happens to be standing over the shoulder. How did he get there?
Starting point is 00:26:07 I'm not going to lie. I enjoy Topper this season. I mean, it's funny. But what? Like, Topper's undying devotion to Sarah Cameron is one of my favorite parts of this show. It's hilarious, but that's tied into Rafe suggesting they kill everybody. Right. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:25 He's like, let's just kill them all. I think we should kill them all. Which, by the way, I'm having a weird sexual attraction to Rafe. I'm having a strange sexual attraction to Rafe. And I know there's people out there that agree with me because... Rafe or Drew Starkey. No, no, no. I mean, Drew Starkey.
Starting point is 00:26:44 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because there are great videos of Drew Starkey. Yeah, love him. He is very handsome. He's hot. But in the show, I was like... I gotta keep this thought to myself. But I kind of am like attracted to Rafe right now.
Starting point is 00:26:56 Now, a girl DMs me. I have to, I don't know if I'm going to be able to find it. But I died laughing because we just had like a very quick exchange. Yeah. Skirl just writes, ever oddly turned on by Rave? I wrote, yep, and she's liked it. That was a very quick response. That's it.
Starting point is 00:27:13 Ever oddly turned on by Rave? Yes, I am. Okay, did you give five? I did give five. He's the best actor in the show. He's really, really good. He's so good. I mean, Ward is really good too, but Rave is fucking crushing it.
Starting point is 00:27:24 And this is what I was saying to people in the office. for as preposterous as the show is, because we love it so much, it's so ridiculous. That's why we love it. The acting is really very good, I think. Like, I know people will disagree with me, but I, like, it, they sell it for me that, like,
Starting point is 00:27:44 in the moment, when I'm sitting on my couch and I'm watching it, I am so invested. Because I think they do such a good job of, like, acting it out and making these completely unrealistic possibilities kind of seem like they're really happening. Does that make sense? It's not until I stop watching that I look back and think about it. I'm like, yeah, obviously it's all ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:28:04 But in the moment, I am so locked in, and I really do think they are all so good. Like, as much as, as much as Sarah Cameron, you know, magically coming back to life was... Everyone magically coming back to... I know. But Chase, like, in that scene, was really good. I really, like, I thought they all... I thought they all did a very good job.
Starting point is 00:28:28 You can disagree with me, but I really did. No, no, I'm not disagreeing with you. They're all crushing it. But I think that, like, I think Drew Starkey is putting on a real deal performance. No, he's really good because he really scares the shit out of you. I think obviously they're all doing well, but he's putting on a performance where you're like, this kid could really act. Yeah. Yes.
Starting point is 00:28:49 Sometimes this script really does make me laugh, though, too. Like, I don't, and I don't know if the actors have as much input, input. into it but like sometimes I feel like they write words like how they think teenagers talk yeah like there's like when they're in the they're in the car in the truck going to charleston and he's like that's hell no no so she she came up with that around i that's what i'm saying like there are times when i feel like it fits and then but like they didn't it's like doesn't You're saying that, you're saying that, like, she improvved that. They didn't write that for her.
Starting point is 00:29:31 She said that she did hella suss on her own. Yes. I literally watched a video last night where she was asked and she was like, guys, I improv that. So maybe they do really talk. Maybe you're just talking. I mean, people do talk. I say that's suss.
Starting point is 00:29:47 No, but I say that suss. It was Hela. The Hela threw me off. I was like, who says Hela anymore? I mean, sometimes I'm like, I don't know. I feel like, that one wasn't that. Suss didn't, I mean, I say Suss all the time also. Yeah, but hella, like sometimes I'm like, that's hella weird.
Starting point is 00:30:00 Yeah. Do you? I honestly feel like I, I don't think I've ever been. I do not recall. I feel like sometimes I talk differently with you guys than I do with other people. That could be possible. Or you specifically. That could be possible.
Starting point is 00:30:12 I did love, I did love Sarah Cameron's, you just hit a person. Yes. Did you just hit someone? Go check. That's the season two version of John B. You just yeat over that change? That was my, that was on my list. but then Noah jumped in and said it,
Starting point is 00:30:25 so I feel like it took away the dramatics of it. But, like, them just plowing Cleo. Absolutely demolishing Cleo with the car and her being perfectly fine. He must have been going, like, at least 80 miles an hour. That person would be dead. When you watch it back, the actual, whoever, like was the stunt double, flew off the car.
Starting point is 00:30:43 And then she was just like, oh. My biggest problem with the show. Yeah. And I don't even think we can go episode by episode now. I think we're just talking about it. But I think that my biggest, issue with the show and I loved, I thought season two was great. I thought that obviously there's so many twists and turns you're like, what the fuck is happening? And your heart is racing and you don't
Starting point is 00:31:03 know what's going to happen because they just bring anybody back to life. They have to start killing people off. I'll say it. They got to start murdering people off the show. Yes, Sheriff Peterkin, the one person they murdered off the show. You got it. Or did they? Or did they? Or yeah, like, is Sheriff Peterkin going to come back next season? That's the problem with when they don't do that. It's like if one comes back, that's cool. But now whoever dies, you're like, well, they're not really dead. Exactly. And that's why it kind of spoils the rest of the show for you, even though it's not.
Starting point is 00:31:30 I have this theory that they're all. I really did not think Ward was dead. When that boat blew up, I was like, he's somehow got to be alive still. Unbelievably, because like, I think we can put, I think we can put at the top our two combined ones. Obviously, John B. is dad at the end. And Ward somehow being able to get in his scuba gear in the one second that happened in between him being outside the boat and the boat blowing up. There's just zero percent chance.
Starting point is 00:31:57 I was screaming at my TV because I have this theory that they're now too close of a cast that the director and the writer doesn't want to kill anybody off because he doesn't want to make anybody upset. I'm team not killing any of them. I am. I would actually be so pissed if they killed one of the... No, I'm not talking about the five. No, I'm not talking about the five.
Starting point is 00:32:17 I'm talking about Ward, who's a main character, but he can go. Yeah. Yeah, because then Rath could still be like... Right, and then Waive having to figure shit out on his own. He got his daddy helping him with everything right now. It seems like they are trying to make, keep the parents tied in it a little bit more, which I actually do like. I would say the most realistic part of this whole season was Key's parents.
Starting point is 00:32:41 Like that was to me the most realistic part that like, oh, there's actually parents in this show that are like, you can't fucking go to Charleston on like the middle of the night. Like, or at the same time, they're just like eating dinner like, have no idea. where she is. Whenever I saw them. Well, they clearly given up on her. When I, when I saw them in the classroom, I couldn't even register that they were in school. I was like, wait, these kids go to school.
Starting point is 00:33:02 I forgot last season was summer. Can you imagine if someone like Jombie like was in your school and like just got sent to the death penalty last week and then he's just in math class? That's also another good one. He was, they went to school for like one day. Yeah. They literally went to school for a day. Like what month was it that they went back to school but then like we're just.
Starting point is 00:33:22 Not in school. Here's what you miss. Here's like all the tests and everything you have to make up. Right. It was like, we're not sorry. I'm hijacking a container ship. That's also probably up there is the fact that they straight up were pirates. The whole thing is crazy.
Starting point is 00:33:38 But I think that obviously the ending. Yeah, it was good. It was really good. I enjoyed it. I thought that, you know, there was a lot going on. It was action-packed. I think that my favorite episode. Oh, I mean.
Starting point is 00:33:49 When Sarah and John B broke up, I... full-blown cried. What did you think about that when Word died and he just stared at her? I thought that was an appropriate reaction. I mean, obviously, I wish, in that moment you wish, like, if you're Sarah, like, you want your boyfriend to comfort you. But that dude killed his dad. I was fine with that. I was not fine with the way John B acted to Sarah after her brother tried to kill her.
Starting point is 00:34:18 And he was mad that Topper saved her. Yeah. I will say Jambi was a little void of legitimate emotions this season sometimes besides, you know, his obvious love for her. I think that's realistic though. He's like, all right, thanks, Topper. I guess maybe that is a little bit more 17-year-old reality. Like they don't care about the serious stuff. They care about like fucking flirting with someone else.
Starting point is 00:34:38 It wasn't even that. It was the fact that she didn't say they were married. They were married, which they're not married. Yeah, yeah. They're not really married. That all was very fake. Right. But she was so excited to come back and say it when they like first.
Starting point is 00:34:50 got back and then, you know, Toppers involved. I'm with him. Yeah. Yeah. So I do get like, that's how a 17 year old would add. But I was like, all right. Her brother just tried killing her. The boat straight to Charleston also was fantastic leaving the Bahamas.
Starting point is 00:35:07 It's just the boat going. And it's, you don't actually see John B. say it out loud, but it's like you see the bridge and you just hear John B's voice go, it's Charleston. Or how when they showed up in the Bahamas, Sarah Cameron's house just happens right there. Oh, that's my house. Really? That's also a ridiculous moment where they're like,
Starting point is 00:35:29 everyone's looking for them. And they're like, let's throw a huge party. I know. But what's great is, though, they can still keep it going. Like, sometimes you, like, mid-season, I always think, like, what else do they have up their sleeves? There's always something, which I love so much. It's like, you got the cross.
Starting point is 00:35:46 You got this creepy, limbery lady. You got the gold. We have no idea where the fuck the gold is. Where's the gold? On the ship? Not on the ship? Nobody knows. They have the gold, right?
Starting point is 00:35:58 Horde has the gold, I think. And the cross. And the cross, but the kids couldn't get the gold or the cross. And John B's dad is alive. Like, we really just need to keen in on that for a second. John B's dad, we saw him dead. Yeah. We saw this man.
Starting point is 00:36:14 We saw that man's rotting body. Dead. In season one. And somehow... I love it. He's alive. There are some theories that that is a flashback. Gia was telling me that.
Starting point is 00:36:26 There are some theories that perhaps that's a flashback because they want to reveal that Limbri is somehow related to John B, which is another TikTok. People are thinking maybe an aunt or his long-loss mom. I don't know if I buy that. I think that's a stretch. I don't really buy that either. I think it would be kind of... I don't know. I feel like that's kind of a overdone storyline.
Starting point is 00:36:47 like the poe kid who didn't have everything growing up grows up and finds out that he has like all these rich relatives I you know I feel like that's been done on so many soap operas and shows and all that kind of thing I feel like they'll come up with something come up with something different for that but having like having the parents having John B's dad alive makes the most sense now because I feel like in the next season they'll just just have this all-out battle between Ward and the dad and, yeah, like some very crazy self. Johnby's dad is going to kill Ward.
Starting point is 00:37:27 Johnby's fighting. Johnby's dad's fighting Ward and then like the same spot. Jombie's fighting Rafe. Now what? Yes. Yeah, that's definitely going to happen. What did we think about on the ship, Jambi not pushing Ward off the boat after he hit his head? Fair.
Starting point is 00:37:45 You're not going to kill your girlfriend. dad right in front of her. He learned his lesson the first time where she was like so upset. No, I know. And even though, I mean, she did not. How do you did not? She did not. But how do you? She's testing it. Yeah. I think in his head he knows how do we continue to have a relationship after I kill your father? Yeah. Right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. I mean, I was trying to kill her. No, like right before. No, I know. But at the end of the day, though, you then, here's what I think. Sarah Cameron's going to have to disconnect because that man, she straight up got strangled
Starting point is 00:38:18 by her. What do you with you? I don't think Sarah Cameron and John B in real life would make it as a couple. They have too much trauma tied to them. But I think their trauma is what ties with. Trauma bond. If they ever just like settled out and there was no drama, they weren't searching for anything, they were just fine.
Starting point is 00:38:33 I think it would be over. They need the. No, no, no. I'm talking for the let me tell you the show they have to be together yeah
Starting point is 00:38:40 but in real life if this was real life they break up these two on the show you mean in real life or on the show like I I know there was the blipin
Starting point is 00:38:50 like I just said I cried I literally cried when they broke up but and and there are so cute because there are parallels like I thought it was so cute
Starting point is 00:38:58 when they were back going back to Charleston and she was like let's get a dog and I have a dog I know I thought they must have threw that one in there because he was like, let's take it easy. This is a thing. They have to stay together in real life, though, because that's where things get ugly. I don't want to bring high school musical into this, into this again. But I'm telling you, the Olivia Rodriguez, Joshua Bassett drama off stage ruined the show. The show did not have, they did not have the same chemistry. It was, it ruined the show. The season two was just not as good because they seemed so off. And they made it a, like, they made that the storyline on the show.
Starting point is 00:39:36 The plot line was that they break up because, like, they're not supportive of each other. What if Sarah Cameron just turned on her, like, she was, like, part of her dad and Raythe's side then. Like, they changed the whole storyline and she was against them. They would have to, like, do that. Now, see, I would, I would, I would like that. I would like that if they sold it to me as she's, like, if she lies about it. Like, if, if, if, if, in order to save John B or something, she has to switch sides. But she wouldn't just go to the dark side.
Starting point is 00:40:03 Yeah. I don't think she would just go to the dark side. No, but she wouldn't tell John B. be in them that she's doing it to say. Exactly. Exactly. Like they would all think she really deserted them. But I will say, I think I maybe need a little bit more. Like, don't we just all need a little bit more of their chutzpah in just the way that they, thank you, and the way that they don't give a fuck about anything. That's what I'm doing lately. Like they, no, I know, but. They escape the boat. They find a random island and they're just drinking like, oh, yeah, friends.
Starting point is 00:40:36 just matter so much to them That's all it is Like they're they had a They were having a grand old time Sitting around that fire On whatever deserted Caribbean island they're on They don't know where they are They don't have any food
Starting point is 00:40:47 That is resources That is anything The most I felt Related to them Because I was like You know what I just like to be with my fucking cows No gold
Starting point is 00:40:56 No cross Just drinking smoking Having a good time No worry in the world How will they go off that island Is hitting the fan around them I bet you the beginning of season three is like just going to
Starting point is 00:41:06 up and all they need to do is walk like over one mountain and there's just like a town probably why did rife at the end when they were leaving the ship he didn't shoot them or he didn't try to shoot them what was that like he he had it he had the gunpoint i i mean rife clearly has some issues but then he told his dad after they're like i'm trying to be a better person like was that him being a better person he's just put being his brain yeah and i also think he's he he's very torn because he clearly knows how much his dad wants to keep Sarah in the family. And in his mind, he's probably like, how is my dad going to react if I say I shot Sarah and killed her? He was like, I'm going to get Sarah back in this family.
Starting point is 00:41:47 Yeah, exactly. Like, we're going to get Sarah back. After him and his dad have tried to kill her multiple times. You know what I also. It's family though. I mean, there's just, we could talk about this forever. There's still so much when Sarah, poor Weezy. I mean, weezy just, when Sarah calls.
Starting point is 00:42:05 is Weezy and is like, I'm alive. And Rose goes to the door and literally can hear crystal clear what Weezy saying. And then we see Weezy be like, wow, like, love you, Sarah. Like, so glad you're alive. And then Rose goes to talk to Ward. She's like, I think something's going on with Weezy. She's talking to someone. You're like, oh, you heard that whole first sentence, crystal clear, but didn't hear her say by Sarah. You said poor Weezy. I kind of was thinking, is Weezy the dumbest person a lot. She's the most oblivious person in the world. She's like, Sarah, look, we're on a boat. We're going to an island. Like, how dumb, like, do you not understand? How do you not understand what's happening? I think there's three characters missing in the next season that needs to happen.
Starting point is 00:42:50 Love interest for JJ. Season three, you need a love interest for JJ, preferably me. These are actually really just a list of all. Do you not think of that key? Of all roles that you could potentially play? You didn't let me finish, but yeah, it was. It was a list of roles that I I could potentially fill for season three. Number two would be, Rief needs an evil woman sidekick,
Starting point is 00:43:11 potential love interest as well. It would be the Jambi girl, though. That would make sense, right? No, but we could come up with something better. No, please. That would have been me. I know, I know, I'm just saying. But I would love to play Rief's love interest,
Starting point is 00:43:27 maybe even more than J.J's. Because playing a bad, like, a bad character like that would get my juices for us. Honestly, I could see that. Thank you. I could see you. Yeah. In that role?
Starting point is 00:43:36 like evil like yeah like I'd love to play that role and then the third one would be that that woman needs a daughter oh or or ward has another daughter somewhere just because ward is a crazy man right well we posed that one last time I'm I'm interested in the in the JJ love interest or the rave evil woman sidekick potential love interest yeah but do you think that he and JJ aren't going to be a thing because it seemed like they were trying to start there. I think they might. Key and JJ? Yeah. It seemed like on the boat like when he woke up like it seemed like they're trying to. I wouldn't like that. See I just I don't really feel like like they tried it with
Starting point is 00:44:19 Key and Pope and now it's like we don't need to make a love interest out of the rest of them now. Like they need outside ones. No see. And Pope and Cleo. That's it all fits. Well I think that JJ and Key and Jay and Jay J. Well I see people really like Key and JJ together. I don't necessarily see it, but I could see how that would like the friend group dynamic then that causes a little drama because he is now going to be with JJ but she already fucked Pope
Starting point is 00:44:45 so then they're going to have an awkward conversation. Although I think Pope and Cleo they were trying to start stuff too. I feel like that then they don't know. I mean look the way that they talk about like relationships in the middle of absolute doom is is also one of the
Starting point is 00:45:01 best parts of this show. That is life though. I don't know. It's like oh we just were on the on a boat, we rode the Gulf Stream straight to Charleston and we're home, we're back and it's like, Jonbi's like, what's going on with you and, uh, Key, huh? It's like, you don't have anything else? At the end of the day, people are just always worried about who they're fucking. Absolutely. It's the perfect, it's the perfect combination of like chasing love, teenage love, high school,
Starting point is 00:45:32 but like very serious murder. killing, coming back to life. It's very impossible to describe this show in like one sentence because it's so many things. It's everything we could have ever asked for. It really, and I think I will say I was a little bit worried about season two just thinking like, what could they do? You know, I'm not worried anymore. I now have the confidence that they could probably make this show for 10 more seasons and
Starting point is 00:46:03 have it be so ridiculous. Every season, another one of them is going to have a random relative who has a treasure. I don't think they'll be able to go that far. I think maybe they'll be able to do like six seasons. The shit's like Grey's Anatomy. That would be something. I'll say five is my prediction. Five?
Starting point is 00:46:19 I'm going to go six. Four. I'm going four seasons. Some people are saying like, oh, Madeline Klein's going to get too big. Yeah. Well, it's just hard because I think they all will. And also... They're going to get sick of it.
Starting point is 00:46:29 They'll get older. I think one of them can't... I don't see one of them being like, I'm not going to do it. right no but uh what's his name on britterton like that type of thing yeah yeah yeah yeah he's like i'd rather i gotta go do movies and shit right but at the end of the day like as much as you love something when you have other opportunities coming your way they're all gonna they're gonna love it they're gonna do it but they're gonna be like all right it's time i mean i always thought that like one tree hill after high school like how are they going to do it and they did it they figured it out
Starting point is 00:46:59 and they do the same with riverdale but obviously riverdale i think has fallen off quite a bit since the earlier seasons. And we don't want them to get to a point where it's just like, where the fuck is the show even going at all? So I think that's it for season two. And we probably missed some things, but we loved it. We did. Maybe you talk about it when they come on the show.
Starting point is 00:47:22 I really loved, I really did like Cleo. Cleo was a good edition. They needed a voice like Cleo. Like she just, and I just like that they've created one character. who could just pop into every situation. It just didn't matter where they were. Randomly show up everywhere. Randomly show up wherever they are.
Starting point is 00:47:43 Wherever she needs to be, it's like they got a Cleo Batman signal. And where she needs to be, there she is. And some good stuff. Some good stuff. We really enjoyed it. We have a great interview with Lala Kemp, but first, guys, I'm distraught.
Starting point is 00:48:01 Maybe that's why I'm feeling unwell, is that the summer is flying by. It's already August. Breaks my heart. But we still have tons of summer left to salvage. There are weeks we can make sure we are chasing the sunshine, chasing the beach time. We can make it happen.
Starting point is 00:48:20 And make sure you are doing that with an ice cold, Coors Light, by your side. Because honestly, Coors Light's the official beer of slowing down summer. So what better way than to take it easy, relax, and have a nice cold Coors Light that'll just make those hours go by a little slower. It's Mountain Cold Refreshment
Starting point is 00:48:39 made to chill. Cold loggered, cold filtered, cold packaged. It's literally made to chill. It's as crisp and refreshing as the Colorado Rockies. When I get to the beach on the weekend,
Starting point is 00:48:53 I sit in my chair, and I hear that of that Coors Light can. I got it in my cooler. It's ice cold. The mountains are blue. It makes, the beach day lasts so much longer.
Starting point is 00:49:06 Coors Light is the official beer of slowing down summer, and we want to see your Blue Mountains all summer long. Because as the beer that's made to chill, we want you to savor every second of summer. Get Coors Light's summer packaging straight to your door with Drizzly or Instacart. And always remember, guys, celebrate responsibly. This is coming from the Coors Brewing Company in Golden Colorado. All right, everyone.
Starting point is 00:49:31 We are here with a very special guest. We have Lala Kent joining us today. You've been on the show many times before, and we are happy to have you back. So welcome, Lala. Thank you for having me. I'm so excited. You know, we love seeing you in person, but Zoom will have to do it for right now. How are you doing?
Starting point is 00:49:49 How are you feeling? What's been going on? You're a new mom, so life has got to be hectic for you. Life is very hectic. And I'm absolutely loving my new role as being a mom. I'm very fortunate because I do have a lot of hands on deck. But, you know, with filming the show and still trying to continue to work, you struggle with that, with that mom guilt of like, I'm leaving her behind. Luckily, she doesn't remember, but I remember.
Starting point is 00:50:18 So I'm loving it, but there I have my moments. I'm not going to lie. That just reminded me. I had a dream last night that I had a full on child that I was just leaving behind. I totally forgot that happened. I just sparked it in my brain. Totally normal. It's totally normal.
Starting point is 00:50:35 Katie was telling me the same thing. She's like, I feel like it's not the right time to have a baby because I keep dreaming that I forget to feed it. I'm like, I still have those dreams. Yeah, that means like maybe that's a sign it's telling her, don't do it. But that's crazy. You seem like you're having a great time with this. Obviously, you know, it seems like it's what you wanted in your life. But just from what we're seeing on Instagram, you're like going through all the emotions and the steps of. being a mother very openly and honestly, how do you decide what you're going to share, what you're going to keep private at this point? Luckily, I feel like with Instagram, I can control the narrative. You know, I can post stories. I can turn off comments. Luckily, with filming the show, you know, California goes by the laws of, you know, even a scripted show.
Starting point is 00:51:31 So if a baby is younger than six months, they can only appear on camera for 20 minutes and then they're done. And there has to be a nurse or a teacher on set. So I got lucky with that. She definitely will make an appearance on TV, but it's for a very limited time. But I think I kind of just share it all because no matter what, you're not going to win with everybody. but for the most part, I think you will. And you'll touch moms that feel like they're alone. And you can kind of have that bond together.
Starting point is 00:52:06 Yeah. And I feel like obviously with social media, you have everybody giving their opinion, especially in motherhood and parents online. They're always telling people what they should do with their kids. But you also have the realistic parents who get that like being a mother is not perfect. Like you're going to do things and be stressed out.
Starting point is 00:52:26 Right. I didn't ever think. that mom shaming was a thing until I got pregnant and gave birth and you know I'll share a picture and they're like she's swaddled incorrectly or you shouldn't give her that and it's just like oh my gosh there's so much information out there and so many opinions that you know your kid you sat with them for for nine months or even if you have ventured into adoption or surrogacy there's something that happens when you are about to become a mother that something just kicks in and you know exactly what to do.
Starting point is 00:53:02 Yeah. And like, like Rea said, it's been, we didn't really, we don't experience it, but it's so crazy when we see the headlines and whatnot of you or whoever it is, other moms out there who have to really, like, defend themselves almost or have to address these things when it happens because they'll, you'll see articles like, you know, fans don't like how this you're holding the baby here or doing this like so it's really very very crazy and not only do you have to balance that but you're filming vanderpump you're also you know movies we're that's a huge thing you got out of death right now how how was that and how have you been like and kind of getting
Starting point is 00:53:49 into the the movie game i grew up in the arts and so i've been acting since i was 12 years old I was definitely what you would consider a theater geek. And when I filmed out of death, I was five months pregnant with Ocean. And it was a lot of work because I was just a hormonal nightmare, to be honest. And, you know, between like going back to work, which I think is definitely saving my mental state. If I have too much time to sit and think my mind becomes a torture chamber, I can talk myself into a hole within 20 seconds, easily. So the work, even though I do struggle with the guilt of leaving her behind, I know that in order for me to be the mother I need to be,
Starting point is 00:54:35 I have to keep my mind right. So it's definitely a balancing act. And I have a new respect for mothers, like whether you're carrying your kid and haven't given birth yet, you know, the second that you get pregnant, you become a mom. And it's a lot of work and there's a lot of judgment. So I try to stay in my bubble.
Starting point is 00:54:53 I don't let many people come into it because I do get affected. I know a lot of people think that I don't, but I'm definitely not as hard ass as I come across. And you guys, are you still filming Vanderpump right now? We wrapped, I think it was like two weeks ago, maybe three. So we're done with the season and it was so much fun. I feel so lucky that we were given a chance to come. back for another season after what our show had been through. Yeah. Yeah, I think a lot of people were confused on what was going to happen with Vanderpump Rules. I know we talked about it plenty of times.
Starting point is 00:55:34 We were like, do they just end it? Do they keep it going with a whole new cast? Because obviously, uh, Jacks, Brittany, Stasi, Kristen, they're not on the show anymore. How do you think this season went without those original cast members? Yeah. When, when we lost, that was like the, a huge part of the core that we lost. These these aren't just my friend. These are people who like when they're on camera, they bring shit to the table. And I
Starting point is 00:56:04 was also very nervous and I was confused about what the show was if it was even going to come back. We got a phone call. I think it was a week before that said we're picking up cameras next week. We're good to go. So we were definitely in the dark for a long time. And then I was
Starting point is 00:56:20 concerned about what it was going to look like and I can honestly say now that we've wrapped, I think the show will be amazing and we're really getting back to the roots of these friendships and relationships and the stakes are much higher because we're older. We're creating families and building businesses. And even though it'll look different, I think people will be very surprised at how we still brought it. Yeah. And one of the things I think we were curious about too is these are your friends in real life. So there are these moments, these life. These life. And big life moments that you guys film for the show that like did it ever get weird with some of these
Starting point is 00:57:02 people where it's like hey I'm I'm having this event or doing this and we're filming it so you guys can't be there oh my gosh it was so strange yeah there were moments that I was actually going to have ocean blessed and um just COVID protocol would not allow that to happen. And I think it was actually a blessing in disguise because the core of my friend group wouldn't be there. So it was definitely strange, but they, they were all very supportive of us filming. They were very understanding because they know the drill. Yeah. And people will be surprised that we don't act like, like Jackson, Brittany and Stacey and Kristen don't exist. They're definitely spoken about and their names are still brought up, which I like because even though
Starting point is 00:57:56 they're not on the show anymore, my real life without cameras consists of them on a regular basis. Right. No, it's that. I think that is also for the best because it would, as a viewer, I think it would come off a little inauthentic if you guys were just like, if just nobody spoke about them ever again. Like it's just, they're still very clearly. It would be weird. It's your lives, it would be, it definitely would be weird. So that does make the most sense. And everyone was like pregnant at the same time. Yes. Which was, it was crazy to see, you know, on Instagram, you see it on the outside looking in. But that must have been hard, like Fran said, trying to film like important life events.
Starting point is 00:58:39 Did you have events film them and then have the same event just with the people that can come? if I could have if I could have afforded to have one of the events twice I would have um I only did a give them la la party um so even though it was like yes I miss my friends it wasn't some life changing party you know so I was okay with it but um yeah just not having them around it was so strange and you know I think that like you said it would be inauthentic to just like pretend like they didn't exist. And I do feel like season eight, the waters got a little muddy. It was like, what is this show about right now? Like, we're all very confused. Even me being a part of the show, I was like, I don't understand. So I'm so glad to see that this season, we're back to what the show is about. Right. Right. Well, that's great. Which is a lot of dysfunctional. Yeah. Yeah. I will say like, love it. There was, I want to ask you about Sheena because months ago, it felt like you and Sheena
Starting point is 00:59:52 maybe weren't going to find common ground again. Like it just was maybe a friendship that ran its course and you guys were just going to let it go. But then now I'm seeing like a post on social media. Like, love you so much. You know, we're back. We're good. So what happened there?
Starting point is 01:00:08 What reconnected you guys? I was with you. I was like there's no repairing this. Like we'll never be the same. We'll never. mess with each other like that again. And without giving too much of the story away on what's covered this season on Banderpump rules, I will say even when we were in a just gross place, we found a way to put that
Starting point is 01:00:34 aside and focus on the fact that we are both new moms and we bonded over the fact that it was not easy with leaving our kids behind so soon to go and film a TV show. And even though everything is addressed on the show that happened between Sheena and I, and it gets very real. It gets very ugly. I will say, like, I adore her so much. And we are closer now than we have ever been. Wow, that's great. Yeah, that's really nice to hear. And I think that's something about you guys as a group is that you guys are really good at even if you get into a fight and you get into an argument and there's maybe a period of time where you're not going to get. get along with that person, you can come around at the end and have a relationship after the fact. It's not going to be weird. It's not going to be awkward. And sometimes you end up even closer than you were before.
Starting point is 01:01:27 Absolutely. We're definitely, I think people watch the show and they're like, there's no way that this is not scripted. Because how could they do all of these things to each other and then still get along? And I just think we are, some people would call us crazy and that's okay. but I think we are that resilient and there's something to be said for that. I mean, life is going to hit you in all different directions and people aren't going to act the way you think they should act. So I give everyone on the show so many props because it's like the bounce back of this group is really unparalleled. It's the most crazy thing in the world.
Starting point is 01:02:06 And actually, this is the first season that I feel like I've seen everybody in a very different world. light, whether that's good times or bad. With the exit of a lot of our key cast members, you know, people have brought a completely different personality to the show that some I've never seen before. And I'm like, at times I love it, sometimes I really can't stand it. And you're going to watch all of that play out. Yeah. I'm going to say something crazy. I think people, I love crazy. I think people can maybe learn a thing or two from you guys. in terms of forgiveness. I think you guys
Starting point is 01:02:47 forgive very well. Like, you guys have done some fucked up shit to each other. Not you specifically, but the whole cast has done some fucked up things. Let's think back to when Jacks and Stasi were together and then Kristen comes in and fucks Jacks.
Starting point is 01:03:03 And everyone's friends. Like, that's just the prime example. And then Stasi punches are in the face. Yeah. And it's like, all right, we're just going to forgive. You know, And you and James, you guys have always had your back and forth. How are you now? Right.
Starting point is 01:03:19 You know, James and I have a very special friendship. And even though, like, we may not be where we used to be because people evolve and get older and they find their life partner and they have babies, it's just what happens as you get older. I will say, like, I have that guy's back forever. Like, he really has a special piece of my heart. He's the funniest friendship I've ever. had. I have, even though
Starting point is 01:03:44 things have gone south at times, I have nothing but really fond memories with him. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. At times you wanted to rip his throat out, but you're like, you can find the good in it, which I think
Starting point is 01:04:00 is great. And I think that's why the show works, and that's why you guys have this season coming back, because they know they're going to get the fights and the drama, but then you guys are going to make up, and you're going to have the love. And, like, Like you said, everyone's in a different stage of their life now, too. Everyone's in a different stage.
Starting point is 01:04:18 And I, like, I never understood, like, I'll forgive, but I'll never forget. Because if you're going to not forget, then you haven't forgiven. Like, that never made any sense to me. This group literally, like, forgive, forgets. And we move on. And run it back again. And run it back again, right? We call it the hamster wheel.
Starting point is 01:04:38 Yeah. I don't know if, I'm not sure if you're able. to tell us or not, but will we see any new faces? You'll see new faces, but they will not be as heavily shoved down your throat as they were Season 8. That makes me happy. It makes us all happy. So none of these new faces have like a tremendous storyline.
Starting point is 01:05:06 And, you know, Charlie comes back. Charlie's back on the show and she'll be a familiar face from season 8. and she's amazing and she's part of the crew now and her boyfriend's great. So I'm really excited. I think people will be pleasantly surprised by the way that we just kept it moving. Great. Well, that makes us excited too because I think like most viewers,
Starting point is 01:05:27 we were worried about what was going to happen with the show. And we're excited to see what goes down. We also love that you have this movie out. And we're curious, you know, how the work-life relationship, is with Rand. Like, you know, he is producer on this movie out of death
Starting point is 01:05:48 that you're in and like, how do you guys kind of balance your home life with working together? I feel like we know when to, we know when it's like we're together. You're my fiance and, you know, like that's the hat we're wearing. And then when it has to do with things
Starting point is 01:06:07 like filming a movie together or recording a podcast together, like it's just a different hat. It's a different dynamic and we're able to adjust really quickly. But we're both very hard-headed. So we have like a really friendly banter that I wouldn't change for the world. It keeps me on my toes. It keeps things interesting. And I love being a part of films that he produces because he's great at giving me the advice that I need. Yeah. If that makes sense. If I feel something is going, not the way I wanted to go. He's been doing this.
Starting point is 01:06:42 for 20 plus years and can kind of point me in the right direction on how to handle being in front of the camera in a very different way than when I'm filming a reality show. Yeah, I mean, I think that obviously if you can make it work, then it's great. And also, if you're in a movie that he's producing, it's not like he's around you 24-7. Like, you're not on set together, like, constantly. No, when he produces movies, like, out of, death. He's usually, you know, producing from afar. He's like back in LA, we shot that movie in Puerto Rico. I've done a handful of Bruce Willis films for him. You know, it's, they're fun,
Starting point is 01:07:25 they're easy watches, and I enjoy them because every time you're around someone like Bruce Willis, it's like a legend, you know? They have a good connection. I feel like they make a lot of movies together. They make a lot of movies together. Yeah. We ran into Bruce Willis on the street. We did run into Bruce Willis on the street of New York City one time. And we were walking past and Fran goes, is that Bruce Willis? And then we turned back around and we had a very odd interaction with him. Now we'll never forget.
Starting point is 01:07:57 We got a picture with him. But then he was like, how old are you guys? He was like making sure we were of age. It was like, it was a crazy interaction. It was, it was wild looking back back on. He was so nice. But it was just like, it was like Bruce Willis, why are you like, why are you like, walking on the streets of New York
Starting point is 01:08:12 alone. It was crazy. On like 28th and 7th. On like a Tuesday. He's my favorite person. I mean, he's just like, right. Like, what the fuck is life? It's great. I'm just going to like go be a normal person. But you're fucking Bruce Willis. Exactly. Now, okay, so we have to bring up.
Starting point is 01:08:32 Bruce Willis was in Midnight in the Switchgrass, which Randall directed, produced. Obviously, you saw the head. lines you know Megan Fox was in the movie machine gun Kelly was in the movie you posted on your right um which people then took as shade to Megan because she did not show up to the premiere um and then machine gun Kelly tweeted something about the movie that was not very nice were you right were you shading Megan no I'm not subtle with shade if I was upset I you know like I've I've had my fair share of like not great interactions with big celebrities
Starting point is 01:09:14 and I don't usually hold back much so it really was just like the perfect the perfect post to look like shade like even looking back it was so quick and unfortunately it was just like my mom took a freaking picture of me and the headlines seemed way more I was like this actually is way more interesting you know what I would read
Starting point is 01:09:39 I was like, you know what, Lala is a petty queen. Maybe this is the case. You know what? I am petty. You know, like when Randall and I would fight, I'm like, I'm deleting all your pictures off my Instagram. But when it comes to like shade with other people, I get petty with my fiance. I don't really get petty with other people. It's more like very direct. I'm not passive aggressive. Is there a relationship there with them at all? Because I do remember I listened to them on your podcast with Randall. That was like kind of at the beginning of their relationship. And I remember that episode blowing up because that it got very serious with them and talking about their connection.
Starting point is 01:10:23 So now I'm curious after all this has kind of happened. Like what kind of relationship do you have with the two of them? I would say like we're friendly. Yeah. I mean even when even when the podcast was happening, you know, we were in Puerto Rico with that. Right. we were doing the movie so it was very easy. It's like your room's by mine.
Starting point is 01:10:41 Like let's work out or whatever it may be. And so I wouldn't say like we're going to paint each other's toenails and getting dinner every other day. But, you know, like I know Randall still talks to Megan a little bit. And, you know, I have a close little circle. I kind of don't really venture out of it much. I'm just kind of Randall's tag along and then I go back to my little group. You know, that's just what I do. And you were actually very direct about how you felt about Demi Lovato.
Starting point is 01:11:11 So I feel like when you say that, like when you have an issue, like you're going to say it, I saw that you were, you just didn't really like how she was explaining the term sober. Or you, or the way she was using the term. California. California sober. Yeah. I didn't, I didn't like it at all because for someone to say I'm California sober, which means, I don't do hard drugs.
Starting point is 01:11:38 I just drink and can smoke weed. Well, guess what? I'm someone who never did hard drugs, and I only drank and smoked weed, and my life almost went down in flames. And I just think about all of these girls who look up to her, girls, boys, and like just thinking about, you know,
Starting point is 01:11:59 their parents who are like, oh, my God, like Demi Lovato is getting sober. My daughter looks up to her so much, and then she comes out saying that, there's a new term for it. It's just like you're such a large presence and have such a huge platform. People are looking at you and following what you do and this is just dangerous. Right. You know, and I know Elton John felt the same way. It's like this disease is not curable. And when you're doing things like heroin, I'm sorry, I just don't feel like you can pick up a
Starting point is 01:12:31 substance. I think it ends the same way as it has before. Right. If not. not worse. And again, that's just my opinion. And I do think sobriety is one size fits all. You don't pick up anything that takes you out of your, you know, real life stuff. Right. It's the use of the word sober. Well, it's like the other day, and you're right, you have to come up with a different definition of it, you know. The weekend the other day, he said he was sober light. And it means that he just drinks and smokes weed. And I was like, okay, well, then I'm sober light. Right. Right. Like, you know, I don't do hard drugs.
Starting point is 01:13:12 Yeah, exactly. Most people are. So it's like, what do you think? What do you think? Every Tom Dick and Harry is just like snorting cocaine and shooting up heroin? Like, right? I think because these people live in such a different world that, that is like, that's just normal to us, drink it and smoking weed. But to them, I guess maybe it's just not. So, you know, it is what it is. And I totally get that. I get your opinion.
Starting point is 01:13:36 We live in a very strange world. Like you guys have a podcast or like rock stars and whatever. So at the end of the day, not everyone's living that lifestyle. And people like the weekend in Demilovato have so many people looking at them as like inspiration. And it's dangerous to throw those things out there because like I said, I was only drinking and smoking weed. That's the only thing I've ever done. And I was like on the verge of losing everything. or potentially like losing my life.
Starting point is 01:14:08 Yeah, yeah, definitely. It's very, very serious and there's been so many more discussions now because I do feel like so many more celebrities have come out and have used the word sober in different types of ways. Right. It's been happening more, it's definitely been happening
Starting point is 01:14:23 more and more recently. So that's, you know, you have your opinion. You're obviously allowed to also have your opinion because you have worked hard for it and you have reached this point in your life that you're very happy with where you're, are. You hear my dog.
Starting point is 01:14:39 Yeah. You're good. Can you hear my dog? Yeah. Yes. Sorry. Good Lord. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:14:44 You're good. Sorry. Can you say that again? I was saying, and you know, you're entitled to your opinion. You've worked very hard to get to where you're, where you are right now in, in your life, in your journey. So it's only fair. And at this point, like, as long as you're, I feel like, you're, I feel like, you're, I feel like,
Starting point is 01:15:05 you have really been very vocal about how your sobriety has changed your life for the better, for like, you know, you've been very open with that and on the show too. And I remember the last time we talked to you. I think that that was such a big thing for you. And it's great for our listeners to hear it too because as someone who, like you just said, smoked and drank, it didn't work for you. Right. Yeah. Yeah, no. And again, like, it's strictly my opinion. Yeah. And I just, I'm so passionate on, on sobriety and what it brought to my life, because without it, I wouldn't have my daughter or my fiance. And it's just like that topic. It's,
Starting point is 01:15:55 it's the most important to me because it's got to come before every single person in my life, because without my sobriety, like, I am just worthless to everyone around me. So I'm sorry. I get like the second someone mentions sobriety, I step into like a different human being. Yeah. Yeah. No, I mean, we appreciate your honesty and how passionate you are about it. And like she said, the people listening, it helps them.
Starting point is 01:16:19 And you're just always a pleasure to talk to Lala. We love having you on the show. We love talking to you. Now, I, the last thing I want to ask you because, you know, you keep saying, Fiancee, wedding plans have been delayed. and moved and COVID and everything. Are there any plans, or is it just kind of like TBD now?
Starting point is 01:16:38 It's more TBD. Yeah. Because, you know, we thought we were getting out of the woods and now there's the new variant. Yeah. And we're headed into kind of like most likely, hopefully not the type of lockdown we first experienced. But many things are being canceled again.
Starting point is 01:16:55 And so I just, we're not in any rush. I want all of my guests to feel safe. And I don't want to plan. around a virus. It's like we share, like we're together. We got a baby. There's no shaking each other at this point.
Starting point is 01:17:09 So we'll see. We'll see when it happens. Would you still want to go? Where are you? Oh, am I getting, am I getting my wedding's confused? I totally am. Stasi wanted to go to Italy.
Starting point is 01:17:21 That's what I'm thinking of. Because I feel like there were so many moving pieces there now. But it is funny because isn't it funny, though? Do you guys all laugh with each other about how, like, these moments have been happening at the same time, like we were saying. It is weird. It's like, you know, now she has engaged and baby and everything. I know.
Starting point is 01:17:44 There's like something in the air and everyone, there's a lot of people that are like, oh, you guys are followers and, you know, one got pregnant. I'm like, babies are not handbags. You don't just get to go out and get one. Yeah. Like we're fortunate that we got pregnant and like strangely enough, kind of all at the same time. But, you know, that's just like the natural progression of life. Like you get older, you find a person and you start a family. That's just like what you do.
Starting point is 01:18:11 Yeah. So. And it's happening for all of you. Well, it's great because the play dates I feel like will be awesome, right? Are do all the babies get together? Can the babies all get together? Oh yeah. The babies get together. They don't know they're together. But we have a great time. And I love it because, like, my biggest fear was like, if I have a kid and I have to go and like make friends with their parents so that my kid has a friend, like, what a fucking nightmare. I don't even have to do that. I just like built in. They're my friends. They have babies.
Starting point is 01:18:47 This will be your friends because I like their parents. Exactly. I also think it's, I also think it's perfect that Jacks is the one that had a boy. Like, you know, I feel like it's just cracking me up that like. I feel like Jack's son is just going to be a player with all everybody else's kids. Yeah. Oh my God. He's such a handsome baby, you guys. I'm like, you look like you're going into the sixth grade.
Starting point is 01:19:14 He's got a jawline at three months. That's so funny. That's amazing. So cute. He's going to be a great kid because he has Brittany as his mom. Yep. That is true. It's because Britney is his mom.
Starting point is 01:19:24 That is true. I can't wait for these kids to grow up and just not watch what you guys were doing on TV, but just enjoy the fact that they have a built-in family at this point. But Lala, thank you so much for joining us. Everybody, please, please check out out of death. It's out now. What else do you want to plug right now, Lala?
