Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, Chicks in the Office listeners. You can find every episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or YouTube. Prime members can listen ad free on Amazon Music. What's up, everyone? It's Chicks in the Office with Rianne, giving you that Friday energy on a Monday, presented by Monster Energy Ultra. We've been talking to you guys about these energy drinks for a little bit now. Like Fran said in the last episode, we got a nice shipment to the office. So we have been trying out all of the flavors. As you guys know, My favorite is the purple can, the violet flavor.
Starting point is 00:00:45 It has zero sugar in it, low calories. And people are sending us picks. And people keep sending them to us. Keep sending picks. Keep tagging us. We're going to repost you drinking the monster energy. Like I said, zero sugar, low calories. And it tastes great.
Starting point is 00:01:02 It tastes so much different than those usual normal monster energy drinks that you're used to or just energy drinks in general. you get a little taste of that candy flavor, but without all the sugar. Yeah, that's really the best part of it because obviously it's tough to really find an energy drink that you drink for the taste and the energy, which is why Monster Energy Ultra has both, which is so great. They have so many different flavors. The white can is the Ultra Zero.
Starting point is 00:01:30 They have Paradise Sunrise, Red, Blue, and our favorite violet, like Rea said, it's not just like that black and green can. it really tastes so much better than what you normally expect from an energy drink. So if you want that Friday energy all the damn time, all Monday long, you got to be drinking Monster Energy Ultra. Do it, guys. That's how we're getting through this podcast. That's how we're getting through the week.
Starting point is 00:01:55 It's Friday right now. We need that Friday energy up. Shout out to Ovi from Love Island Season 5 UK. If you watch, you know OV. I don't think he knows anything about us whatsoever. Happy coincidence. Happy coincidence that OV posted on his story today, Friday Energy. So you know what?
Starting point is 00:02:13 It's a movement, guys. Keep it going. He's definitely feeling it. And he's all about the positive vibes. He is. Which I love and which is why no other Love Island season will match Love Island season 5 for me yet. There's new seasons to come. What's really funny is, I think, after I just could not get you to finish season four and you told me,
Starting point is 00:02:37 were starting to watch season three. I was like, all right, at least I guess I'll start to watch season three. I feel like, how much of season three have you watched? It's just not doing it for me. Yeah, see, I'm going to end up watching all of season three because you started season three. No, I'm like 20 episodes deep. Oh, okay. So I'm pretty deep into it. I'm not. Okay. Then I was thinking you weren't that deep into it. No, I keep watching even though it doesn't really tickle my fancy as much as season five, but I keep watching it just as a show that I casually throw on. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just, you know, when you want to watch mindless TV, Love Island, I feel like is the perfect thing.
Starting point is 00:03:13 You could just zone out. I don't think it's really caught me yet. I'm only like, I'm only like eight or nine episodes of ten. Oh, no, no. I'm like 20 episodes deep. So I'm definitely going to finish it. Yeah. But it, like I said.
Starting point is 00:03:24 I didn't know if you were, if it was going to fizzle out kind of like season four. No, no, no. I didn't get as far in season four as I did season three. But I think once I finish season three, I will go back to season four because where do I go from there. It's season two and season one. Those are too old now. Now it's like too outdated.
Starting point is 00:03:39 It already feels like a little outdated for being like three summers ago. But that's okay. Because I feel like maybe by the time we finish this winter love island will be out. You know? Winter love island is coming. They said I think January, February. Right. It's going to be in South Africa, I think, is where they said it was going to be.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Okay. So confirmed, it's going to be in a brand new villa in South Africa. it's going to take place January February we have to figure out how to watch it live so if you guys anybody in the UK that's listening to this can you let us know how we can watch
Starting point is 00:04:18 Love Island live with you guys so we don't have to wait for Hulu to air it Yeah or anybody I think we're probably need Yeah yeah I think we I think we need the people in the US who get it Who have like weird links and stuff Right that's what we need
Starting point is 00:04:34 If you watch it illegally let us know hit us up, tell us how to download it because we want to watch. Because that's going to be a problem. We're going to have to keep up with it and not have to, like, Hulu, it's so delayed. So that's not, that's just, that just won't do. That just won't cut for us. No, it won't. No, it won't.
Starting point is 00:04:50 All right. Well, Fran, back by popular demand, even though some of you don't want it. Don't want it. Most in my DMs and your DMs and chicks in the office DMs do want it. If you don't want it, just skip. If you don't want it, just skip. but there were many people who said that they feel like they get a little bit of shine on the podcast and they shout out. Yeah, they get a little shout out. They get to hear their friends, embarrassing stories.
Starting point is 00:05:17 They listen to it together. So I like that. I like having everyone be a part of something. Yeah. I also not confirming that we're going to bring back Chick of the Week, but I do want to give somebody a shout out that has been absolutely killing it. Jasmine Sanders, aka Golden Barbie on Instagram, has been posting the hottest pictures. that I've seen. Like just non-stop this week, she was on the cover of Maxim and she looked unbelievable. I had to give her a shout out. I just had to. You have to look at this cover and it will take your breath away. The Wi-Fi in this place is truly atrocious. Okay. It's loading. Oh yeah. I mean, she looks amazing. She always looks amazing. No, that's the thing. She always looks
Starting point is 00:06:00 stunning. And her outfits are always on point. So I just wanted to give a shout out to her because I've been following her closely lately, her outfits, her style, her covers, she's just been killing it. I feel like this green outfit she wore to this concert a few days ago was something that you would wear. I did like that one a lot. So I'm saying. I love her style. And this one, I'll show you. Now, this is bad because nobody can hear what we're saying. Nobody can hear us. But this outfit that she wore to celebrate her rookie of the year status for a S-I swimsuit was unbelievable. Oh, wow. once again this is a horrible horrible podcast but just scroll back to her picture from september 5th yeah i see it if you're listening go to golden barby on instagram and scroll back
Starting point is 00:06:45 and she's really just she's in you know she's in the bathing suit i mean it is a bathing suit obviously and it was like inspired by biance yeah damn i don't even really have words to describe it i know that's why i i just had to i had to say it sometimes i I can't like follow all these beautiful people. I feel that, but she has such a beautiful like personality as well. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We've interviewed her before and she was so funny during the interview. And then I followed her and she's,
Starting point is 00:07:17 has a great personality. She's so positive on Instagram, but she's also beautiful. Yeah. She's not like the girls that you see on Instagram that are so fake and just push everything that's fake. Right, right, right. It's a little different.
Starting point is 00:07:30 But yeah, I get what you're saying. Yeah, yeah. So there's some people I can't follow. either that it just make me feel like shit about myself even though it's so unrealistic it's not even that it makes me feel like shit about myself it's just like when I'm scrolling through my feet I'm like I miss like my friends pictures because I'm just looking you know what I'm saying I'm like I'm just following all these hot girls I'm like okay I want to see like what my friends are doing right right it's hard to weed out the hot girl pictures on Instagram they're everywhere exactly exactly because I think it is pretty
Starting point is 00:08:01 fair to say that I think at least I hope most girls know that almost every picture they see on Instagram is not real so or not like you know not not that's not the way I want to say it like not on touched yeah I would say that like everything most people on
Starting point is 00:08:17 Instagram at least throw a filter on their picture there's a filter or a little air brushing or teeth whitening or waist slim it you know there's something you know it's funny people like contort their body.
Starting point is 00:08:32 Yeah. But then you could see it. Yeah. Most of the time you can tell. Yeah. Yeah. Or like when people do their face and then all of a sudden their eyes look like cartoons. Right.
Starting point is 00:08:44 And I'm just like, that's so obvious. Yeah. You know? Yeah. But either way. Shout out to Jasmine Sanders, who's been killing it. Mm-hmm. Because I literally, I'm like, oh my God, her style is impeccable.
Starting point is 00:08:54 I need this style. All right. So I think it's time to get into, whoa. Did I just send that? Whoa. Did I just send that? So we're starting off a little slow this week, but I like how this one wrapped up. I think that this one was funny.
Starting point is 00:09:07 So make sure you send some outrageous ones this week. We want to really amp them up now. Since we're bringing it back, we don't want to let people down. Send your best ones as outrageous as they can get. But this one's a funny one. Okay. Okay. It didn't happen to me, but a girl I used to work with.
Starting point is 00:09:24 She works in a restaurant and her boyfriend is the head cook there. He was working one night and she was home and she texted him and said, will you please bring me home a pizza? I'll suck your dick. A classic. But seconds later, she realized she texted her mom. She's also only 17 and lives with her mom. She got so nervous and thought the best thing to do was to send her mom a picture of her work schedule hoping she would somehow miss the text above. Her mom is a dental hygienist. So she was like, here's my schedule for next week. What day can I get my teeth done? Obviously, the mom ended up seeing the text and she responds with Tuesday, but only if you suck my dick for it. See, I love that the mom just went along with them. one. Just a nice, just a nice mom joke. It is. A great mom joke. Who, I feel like did I space out at the beginning? What was the relation here? She said it was her friend. Oh, her friend. She was sending in her friends. Okay, okay, okay. The one she used to work with. Gotcha. But I just like the, I like when moms can play along. I also love the freak out ones, so keep sending that. But I like how this mom played along with it. Yeah. I think I enjoy the freak out ones more. Me too. But honestly, low energy this
Starting point is 00:10:26 week with the submissions. Probably because we've been a little low energy with with the with the segment right and it was more of people being like please add it back instead of giving me their their actual submission right right right so this is a slow start but hopefully but hopefully people will send the back in next week yeah okay great are you gonna rate it I'm gonna rate it low I'm gonna rate it a 5.5 um yeah that's a pretty good score I would be somewhere around that area. I'm going to go 5-2. Oh, lower. Yeah. I think it's okay to roast them too. Like, if you sign a submission, make them good because we might just end up reading it if it's back. And it's not back rate. And we just rate them really low. Yeah. Yeah. All right,
Starting point is 00:11:14 let's get into today's topics for the episode. We have a bunch starting with Kylie Jenner's Rise and Shine, Colton versus Rachel. Jonah Hill is out of the Batman movie. A freak video where Lady Gaga falls off stage with a fan. Cody Simpson wrote a new song for Miley Cyrus. Jenna DeWan released a new book talking about Channing Tatum. Demi Lovato got hacked. And we have an interview with Catherine McNara. So let's get into it starting off with Kylie Jenner. I had no idea what anyone was talking about until yesterday morning when I went on Twitter and I just kept seeing like Alexa play Rise and Shine by Kylie. And then I watched this video. Just the funny, like this just one. She just posted on her Instagram story.
Starting point is 00:11:55 She, Kylie did? I'll play it. Damn. Yeah, somebody tweeted this to her. I'm into it. Yeah, I mean, it's kind of fire. It is pretty catchy. This is just one of those moments
Starting point is 00:12:25 where something so stupid goes so viral and just becomes like a huge meme that we'll be talking about for forever. Forever. I'd be like, oh, the rise of shine. Kylie Jenner.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Kylie Jenner. So the funny... Nicotic time in all of our lives. This video, it just, the way it's cut is hilarious. because she's walking into Stormy's room. And then they have the... They're in the Kylie's office. And then they're walking into the room that she lets Stormy stay in.
Starting point is 00:12:55 And get out of here and show you guys her room. Rise and shine. But the way it's cut is that it's a jump cut. So all of a sudden she's walking in and then all of a sudden, bam, she's inside. With the lights off and then rise and shine. Just out of nowhere. Because obviously the cameraman,
Starting point is 00:13:15 had to get into the room to film her waking up stormy. So the way the whole thing is cut is hilarious. And now it's just become this very viral. She just hits that high rise and shine. Some people were saying she was bad. And I thought she actually sounded good. I mean, as far as singing rise and shine goes, fine. Right.
Starting point is 00:13:35 Like it's so I don't know how you listen to that and say like, oh, that's bad. Like she just, it was two words. Yeah, it was two words. hilarious. If she wakes up stormy like this every day. Yeah. Or if we just make it. our alarm clocks.
Starting point is 00:13:48 Like everybody's now has their alarm clock as rise and shine. It's just turning into such a meme that it's like every, all the different celebrities are picking up on it. Like there was a St. Hoax meme page on Instagram. Did like Photoshop Kylie on stage at the voice singing in and all the chairs turning. Like Miley was one, Miley was a coach on the voice. So Miley retweeted that.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Ariana Grande was on her storyline. night doing it was like at Kylie like can I sample like and I love how the other Kardashian sisters join in and talk about how funny it is they've been posting the memes Kylie posted a picture of her face on top of a son and wrote no caption needed it was like the Telatubby son that like is like the baby face that's the sun on tellydubys but it's just but it's just Kylie yeah and no caption needed she's right and I it's funnier when she acknowledges how like weird and crazy
Starting point is 00:14:47 like this moment is going viral you know it's hilarious she needs to do ASMR Kylie Jenner ASMR would be so good so good she has the nails for it too is the nails like Nikita always does that in her Instagram videos like where she
Starting point is 00:15:02 she has a long nails and she clicks them all together yeah and even when she posts on her story the makeup that she's using and she puts them on her arm and stuff you just made that an ASMR video. She could be the biggest ASMR artist in the world.
Starting point is 00:15:16 Not that she needs it. But I'm just throwing that out there if she's thinking about what else can I do? Kylie, make ASMR. Or do the W Magazine ASMR interview. Yeah, I agree. Because we need that.
Starting point is 00:15:29 You know what else I think is great as part of this? It's like she just was this was just at the end of a 14 minute video or whatever, however long it was of her like giving a tour the Kylie Cosmetics Office.
Starting point is 00:15:45 And I wonder like the first person to just clip that because I think if I would have just watched it and not have noticed but because like I was looking for it I was like oh my God that is just so funny. Right. Because if you watch that video for the first time
Starting point is 00:16:01 are you thinking to yourself that was weird or are you just going along with it? I don't know because the first time I saw it was when it was clipped separately. Shout out to the person who clipped that immediately first. Great job on your part. If you're not getting the credit that you deserve. I wish I knew your name
Starting point is 00:16:15 because I would give you the credit, but I don't know your name because everyone's just reposting it. But the funny thing is that nobody's even talking about Kylie's office in general. Like everyone's just mentioning that one point. Nobody's even talking about the fact
Starting point is 00:16:28 that she gave a tour of her office. Yeah, the office is awesome. Exactly. And everyone's just like, oh, funny, funny viral meme. And she also just kept saying that the, like, everybody was away. Like, I would just,
Starting point is 00:16:42 I wanted to, to see the office when there was actually people like working and like doing stuff in there. Like who is working there? Is anybody working there? Is it just robots? I bet Kylie Jenner will be the first company to have robots working for her. Or well I'm sure they have robots working for people right now but the first company that we really know.
Starting point is 00:16:59 That she's like documented. Yeah, she's documenting. Yeah, we're seeing it all. It's not a behind the scenes robots. It's in your face. No, no. We're watching robots make Kylie Jenner lip kits. I feel that. Yeah. I mean, there are, I guess it's technically robots making them already. Yeah, I mean the machines are technically robots. But they're like alive and talking and they all look like Kylie Jenner.
Starting point is 00:17:19 Oh, boy. Oh my God. Now it's just getting, now she's just getting freaky. That's pretty terrifying. To top it all off, Kylie is doubling down. She's posting Instagram videos of Stormy listening to Rise and Shine remixes. Stormy is so freaking cute. But like I feel like Stormy loves to kind of like shade Kylie a little bit.
Starting point is 00:17:39 She was like, um, daddy's thing? I loved that. That was hilarious and I love Kylie's reaction. No. No, it's mommy. Yeah, no. I don't give a fuck. Yeah. No, please play. Daddy sings. I want sicko mode right now, Mom. It would be awesome if somebody made like a sicko mode rise and shine collaboration. Yeah. That would be awesome. And now Kylie is also selling sweatshirts. I mean, this is why Kylie is a billionaire. This is why Chris Jenner knows what she's doing best. You got to sell the merch. Always sell the merch. Because how often is Kylie Jenner selling sweatshirts and stuff? Like this is the time to buy it. I can't wait to see like the numbers on this. Like I'm sure it'll come out eventually on how much money she made off of these sweatshirts. Trent bought one.
Starting point is 00:18:23 Yeah. So I quoted. Shout out Trent. Shout out Trent who said, dude, I don't care. I'll buy it. She's smart as fuck. I'll buy makeup from her too. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:31 That was like, I'll buy it. I'll put it on. I'll wear it around my house. Like shocking, Trent. But yeah, I debated buying one until I saw that it was going to take four to five weeks to ship. And then I said, fuck that. So, like, that's what's even crazier is because so many people bought it
Starting point is 00:18:49 knowing that they are not going to get it till, like, after Thanksgiving. Well, I'd like to take back my statement because I said fuck that. But sometimes we put stuff on sale as pre-sale. But it's not, like, in the moment meme. Like, rise and shine is it in the moment thing? You want to be wearing that sweatshirt tomorrow, not like on Christmas morning. I want to go out to the bar tonight with rise and shine on my back. Right.
Starting point is 00:19:11 Not exactly Christmas, but we could make Christmas sweaters, let's say Rise and Shine. You're right, we could. But then it's also like, are we too late? Is the joke over?
Starting point is 00:19:21 Is the moment passed? Then we look like the old ladies making the joke that's probably passed. Because what happens now is these memes they burn so bright. Like you, TikTok,
Starting point is 00:19:34 Instagram, Twitter, we've seen nothing but Rise and Shine videos rise and shine. remakes, remixes everything. So it's like next week people are going to be like, all right, like, can we stop talking about Rise and Shine? Like maybe even by the time this podcast is out, it's like nobody's going to care.
Starting point is 00:19:51 Right. By the time Monday rolls around. We're like, shut the fuck up about Rise and Shine. Yeah. And here we are talking about it. Exactly. All right, everyone, we have some Bachelor Nation drama going on. There is, I don't even know if I can describe it as a feud.
Starting point is 00:20:04 It seems like a feud between Colin Underwood and Rachel Lindsay. and we're going to break down that whole fight, I guess you could say. Stitchfix.com slash chicks. this whole thing between Colton and Rachel I guess we could say started when Rachel just was voicing the fact that she like wasn't really a fan of Colton which is fair like she's allowed to she's allowed to do that she like
Starting point is 00:22:24 we actually I think talked to her about it like she wasn't really fan of Colton as the bachelor and she is allowed to have that opinion And then it blew up because Rachel, we talked about it. Rachel went on Watch what happens live. She acknowledged that her and Raven are no longer friends. And on an Instagram post about it, Colton commented, let me find the original comment because he unprovoked, like just, you know, on his own, commented on it saying,
Starting point is 00:22:56 where is it? Here it is. Okay. So it was an Us Weekly post. it said, she knows what she did. Rachel Lindsay will never be friends with former Bessie and fellow Bachelor alum Ravengates again. And Colton commented, shocker, Rachel mad at another person. Does she like anyone?
Starting point is 00:23:13 So I am confused at what's going on here because I don't know if Colton is just mad because Rachel has said that she wasn't the biggest fan of Colton in the past, which then I understand why he would be, I guess, salty about it and towards her. But I don't know. like unless it has something to do with him directly and Rachel that I don't know why he's getting involved like if they do talk it out I feel like it should be about Rachel and whoever she actually does have a problem with like Raven Rachel give us that information you know what I'm saying now we're getting fake drama from Colton and Rachel that they're going to go on a podcast they're going to talk
Starting point is 00:23:50 about it and then they're going to pose next to each other and be like ha ha we're friends yeah honestly I don't know I don't know if they like if they've come out of this like being friends it's just very weird. I watched this whole interview with Rachel. She was on the Witt and Rye YouTube series, and she really talked about this whole thing with Colton and was saying that she didn't really want the Raven thing to blow up as much as it was, but she was asked questions, so she answered. And then it just, she said, what didn't help is Colton commenting. And you know, I would actually love for Colton to come on the podcast because what I'm not going to do is entertain you in the comment section of somebody else's post. What I will do is have a grown-ass conversation with you and we can talk
Starting point is 00:24:33 about it. Colton made a statement to us weekly, I guess, and said, I'm not weighing in on the Rachel Raven drama. I could care less about that, not my business. What is my business is the countless numbers of times she spoke poorly of me, including that time she ran her mouth about me to Cassie. Funny thing is, I have never met her. Rachel said she doesn't appreciate these accusations that she ran her mouth. Rachel actually talked about meeting Cassie in an event in July. She said they had a great time, like, partied the night away, that Rachel was actually giving Cassie a lot of life advice because Cassie is still in school and she's trying to balance like what she wants her career to be, but also like the fame that comes with The Bachelor and
Starting point is 00:25:16 what kind of which way is up, which Rachel had to deal with because, I mean, she was an attorney. She had a very legit job. Right. And that and balancing that. So I guess Rachel gave her advice there. They had a great time. Cassie followed her on Instagram. Rachel said Cassie, they took a selfie together, but Cassie did make a joke at one time saying like, oh, I know you don't really like Colton. And she says, she was like, I remember saying, I mean, I'm just indifferent. I don't believe I have to be best friends with everybody just because we all came from the same TV show. She said, my thing has always been McColl and I don't really think I ever really knew who he was. So I just wish I got to understand the real him. She feels like,
Starting point is 00:25:56 Colton is different on TV than he is in real life, which I guess she has heard from a lot of people that he's really different in real life. Right. And so I understand both sides here because, first of all, from Colton's point of view, it's like you hear somebody doesn't like you, so automatically you don't like them
Starting point is 00:26:13 and you get defensive because you're like, they don't know me as a person, they only see me on TV. They're only hearing things from other people. They don't know me personally. So for them to say they don't like me or whatever, I get that side of it. But also for Rachel, she's allowed to say whatever she wants.
Starting point is 00:26:30 Right. And I do understand what she's saying when she says, we don't have to all be best friends because we all came from the same place, which is so true. You're not going to get along with everybody. You're not going to click with everybody. Some people have different vibes. You're just not going to always get along. So if she doesn't want to be best friends with Colton, she doesn't have to be. And the thing with Rachel is that she's more outspoken than a lot of the contestants on these shows.
Starting point is 00:26:55 So usually, I'm sure there are a ton of people who don't like each other behind the scenes. You just don't hear them say it. But because Rachel is saying it publicly, it's not a problem. Right. And it's like her job. Like she has a podcast. She talks about The Bachelor. She talks about the show.
Starting point is 00:27:12 She goes on other people's podcasts to talk about the show. If she didn't give her true feelings and was just like, everybody seems great. And like she just loves everybody. Then that's boring. And it's not the truth. Right. That's like when we talk about The Bachelor, if we sat there and we said we liked every person, we liked every contestant. Like people would be like, no, you don't. You're lying because everybody who watches the show hates some people and like some people. That's very normal and that's
Starting point is 00:27:38 going to happen. Not everybody is like everybody's cup of tea. You know what I mean? And I think it's also very understandable that you are on a TV show. It's like, yes, you are being judged by how you come across on TV. That's what happens when you're on a TV show. And that's kind of what Rachel clarified. She was like, look, I didn't like him on TV. She's like, I haven't met him, but like I didn't really like him on TV. It's pretty Right. I think it's a pretty fair statement and Colin just kind of
Starting point is 00:28:06 has to suck it up. I think that's fair and I also think that I'm trying to think of who we can use as an example where we didn't love them on TV but then we met them and we really like them. I mean, Hannah. Oh, well, Hannah be right. Like Hannah, we didn't like on cold
Starting point is 00:28:23 Leitbvreis. Yeah. Nick Viall, true. Colton, yeah, Hannah, we didn't like on Colton's season, really. Because she, like, on TV, it is very different. And she got a different edit that season that she did as the Bachelorette and meeting her in real life. And she's an absolute sweetheart. Right. We got to know more about Hannah, got to know the real Hannah.
Starting point is 00:28:40 And she was amazing. But when you see the little clips, you didn't like her. Same thing when Nick Viol, like, I, exactly. I hated him. We would talk about it all the time. I'd be like, he's whatever. Now we met him. He's super cool, nice.
Starting point is 00:28:53 so it's like, I just feel like that happens all the time with these contestants. Right. And I think Colton, I think, exactly, I think it happens all the time. And Colton has said, you know, they've never met each other. So there's a different way to go about it when you hear somebody critiquing you from how they perceive you on TV. You're like, oh, that's bizarre. She feels that way. Maybe she would feel differently if we met in real life. And then that's a whole different story. They've never even met. Instead, he like went out of his way to comment. on something else being like, oh, like a shocker, Rachel not liking somebody. Like, that's petty.
Starting point is 00:29:30 Right. And once again, she's allowed to not like somebody. And you stated it. It's her job to have a podcast and talk about people on the podcast. And voice her opinions. And if she just like was happy and loved every single person, it just wouldn't feel genuine. No, it wouldn't. Because let's be real. We don't all love everybody. Right. It's not real life. No, no, no. I don't know. I don't know what's going to happen from this.
Starting point is 00:29:53 maybe they'll hash it out, which would be great content-wise, like hearing them go at it. I don't know if they'll ever get each other in the same room. Yeah, we'll see. It could happen. Colton said, Colton responded to Rachel saying she wanted him to come on her podcast by saying, I'll come on your podcast, Rachel, one condition. Ask your producer to leave it raw, unedited, and untouched. Looking forward to meeting you and pointing out your hypocrisy over the last year.
Starting point is 00:30:22 See, like, got off your high. Horace Colton. Get out of here because I'm sure that Rachel can point out Colton's hypocrisy at some point. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's all very weird. And she also kind of hinted, she hinted on her pot, like on this YouTube show that she did that when she did a podcast with Kalin, Kalin had said something that about like their season that ended up having to get cut out of the podcast. It's like you just, I don't think
Starting point is 00:30:56 Rachel likes how Colton conducted his season. I mean, that's fine. Mm-hmm. And I don't know, Colton seems to really not be okay with it. So maybe, hopefully he does go on the podcast and they'll see because I would, I would like to, I would like to hear them discuss this because I would like to hear Colin side
Starting point is 00:31:16 because I just feel like Colin just has, you don't like me as his only problem. Yeah. I need to hear his opinions to fully pick aside on this because right now I'm leaning towards Rachel. Right. But if Colting comes back with like all these hard, cold facts about Rachel, then who knows? Maybe he does know something that we don't know.
Starting point is 00:31:38 But I don't, I feel like we haven't seen that. Yeah, exactly. Colton hasn't really told his side of the story. He's just been like there's just these petty like side comments. He hasn't really laid out everything or examples or whatnot because he says, oh, she ran her mouth about me to Cass. But Rachel's response is, no, I just told her, like, that I've been different about him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:58 And I would say that this is also, of course, Cassie's going to tell Colton. I mean, their boyfriend and girlfriend, so they're going to tell each other all these things. But it could have been an exaggeration on Cassie's part, maybe. She was like, oh, Rachel doesn't like you. Yeah, ooh, she doesn't like you. And then all of a sudden it heated up. Yeah, yeah. Just a bad game of telephone maybe.
Starting point is 00:32:19 Yeah. But we'll see if they clear it out. It will be very, very interesting to listen to for sure. Definitely. Definitely. We talked about this the other day, and I'm really mad because it came out right before we put out the podcast. Right. We talked about Zoe Kravitz playing Catwoman, and Jonah Hill is he going to play the villain that he wanted to play? And he's just out.
Starting point is 00:32:40 Yeah, it's not going to happen. It's not going to happen. So apparently the talks between Jonah Hill and Warner Brothers have fallen through. He is not going to. going to be playing any kind of villain in the Batman movie. However, they have cast the role of The Ridler, which I guess is obviously now going to be the villain in this movie. Paul Dano, who I recognize, like, I see his face.
Starting point is 00:33:10 I'm like, yeah, I know who that is. But, like, he is. If you asked me to really throw out some roles, I think. He was in a movie with Jake Gyllenhaal, I think. If you look at his, like IMDB, he's been in some great movies. I think he's better off playing the villain. I have to be honest. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:29 Because Jonah Hill is a lovable guy. He's got some riddler vibes, I feel like. This guy always plays somebody who rubs you the wrong way. Right. Escape a Danamora he was in, which I never watched. I didn't watch him either. I'm trying to think of the movie that I'm looking back. Twelve Years of Slave, Looper, Cowboys and Aliens.
Starting point is 00:33:52 Oh, where the wild things are. What is this movie? I'm thinking of. Oh, he was in the girl next door. Oh, I remember him in the girl next door now. Maybe he doesn't always play. Oh, Prisoners. That's the movie I'm thinking of. Prisoners with Jake Gyllenhaal.
Starting point is 00:34:10 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hugh Jackman, right? Yeah, Hugh Jackman. And I think, I'm pretty sure he plays. Who does he? Looper is, I think. Looper is one, the one movie, I think I actually got up and left. Looper?
Starting point is 00:34:35 Yeah. I've never even heard of that movie. It was with Joseph Gordon Levitt. And I honestly don't even remember why, which is so bizarre because it's, it's like a very critically acclaimed, like, amazing movie. I might be like the only person on planet Earth who didn't like it. Like it has a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes and an 82% audience score. But I- You walked out.
Starting point is 00:35:02 I just didn't like it. I just didn't like it. I mean that happens. That's like the favorite. Remember I hated that movie and you were like, I really liked it. And I just, and it was critically acclaimed. It was nominated for all these Oscars and I just totally didn't understand the appeal.
Starting point is 00:35:16 I feel like that's the same thing here. I think I got to go back and rewatch Looper and like sit down and actually think about it. because I forget like what exactly it was, but I feel like there was other, there was other factors into why I was not happy with the, like. And this also came out in 2012. You're older now. I feel like maybe.
Starting point is 00:35:35 Yeah, yeah. I give it another go. Give it another go. Maybe you'll like it now. I want to say like I didn't, I also just like didn't get it. Joe is classified as a loop or a job in which his employers use time travel to send men from the future to be killed into the past.
Starting point is 00:35:50 Yeah. Huh? Yeah, there was a lot of like time jumping and I was just like, I'm just confused. Oh, where Joe can properly dispose of their bodies. Yeah. This actually doesn't seem like a movie you'd like where people are just killing people and disposing of their bodies. It sounds like something you would probably stay away from. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:07 But that's fine. Now that I'm looking at this guy, I do remember. But I feel like this is a good casting. Everybody's been pretty happy so far. Yeah, I actually feel like that's a better fit that Joe to Hill, to be honest. I think this guy is a villain type to me and Jonah Hill is a lovable guy. Yeah. And also, not that Robert Pattinson isn't a big name, but I feel like Jonah Hill takes over that movie, you know?
Starting point is 00:36:39 For sure, because it's like Jonah Hill is in the new Batman. Right. Nobody's saying Robert Pattinson's in the new Batman. Yeah, it becomes like a movie about the villain. and it's less a movie about the Batman. So Lady Gaga had a freak accident happen on stage at a Las Vegas show with a fan. She called this fan up stage.
Starting point is 00:36:58 She hopped up on him. All of a sudden, boom, his knee buckled. And bam, they went off the stage. This moment is really going viral. The video originally, it's just like, she's already on top of this fan. So you don't really see what exactly happened before that. But they felt,
Starting point is 00:37:18 and they fell hard. Hard. But apparently everything is okay. Lady Gaga brought him back on stage afterward. They hugged. She said to him, like, promise me you're not going to be sad about that. And then I guess a lot of people, not shocking, were going after him or saying like he dropped her. He was probably drunk or this, that, and the other thing.
Starting point is 00:37:42 So he posted on his Twitter this statement saying that, Lady Gaga. Gaga picked up his letter and invited him on stage and he said, as I was getting out of the standing pit, the floor was wet. So my trainers therefore were wet getting on the stage. To clarify, I categorically did not pick up Lady Gaga when I got on the stage. She jumped on me as I was getting up. I was trying to usher her up my body kind of, up my body kind of thing is what he said. And my foot slipped.
Starting point is 00:38:11 As we fell, I tried to make sure I took the brunt of the fall and you could see my leg. You'd see that I kind of did. Lady Gaga herself has told people to stop with the negative comments. After the show, she personally sent her security to get him. They talked and everything is fine. And he's like, please don't keep saying this is my fault. Right. Because when you first see the video happen, it seems like, okay, this guy got on stage.
Starting point is 00:38:32 He picked up Lady Gaga and then all of a sudden his knee buckled and Lady Gaga falls off stage really hard. But when you get the background info of the story, it makes a ton of sense. It was, you know, it was nobody's fault really. Lady Gaga jumped on him. Right. Which sounds like a very Lady Gaga, I think. And unfortunately, he had slippery shoes. And he fell off stage.
Starting point is 00:38:51 And oh my God, when I saw this video, I thought Lady Gaga died. I was like, holy shit. Lady Gaga on her head. She went down so hard. I can't imagine the amount of pain meds she's taken after this concert. And this guy, this poor guy, like his leg just bent and, like his knee buckled. It was like Travis Scott on stage. It just fucked up.
Starting point is 00:39:12 But as long as they're both okay, it seems like. they are both okay, you know, no head injuries or anything like that. So realistically, this guy got a great viral moment with Lady Gaga because she's happy about it. I was going to say, not happy about it, but she's not mad about it at all. And it is a moment that they will both remember forever. They will share this fan moment for a long time. Hopefully anybody that's being mean to him or saying mean shit to him, that'll pass and he'll just have this clip of him going down with Lady Gaga forever.
Starting point is 00:39:48 Imagine the secondhand, not secondhand embarrassment because it did happen to you, but the lingering embarrassment that stays with you for days. Like, you know when you get drunk and just for days after you're thinking about all the stupid shit you did when you were drunk. Yeah. And you wake up, you get that hangover anxiety. Right. And it's always way worse than you think it is.
Starting point is 00:40:08 It's always way worse. I can't imagine. This guy, he has to live this moment over and over again on the internet and just sleep at night thinking, oh my God, I fell offstage with Lady Gaga. But she's okay. They're both okay. So that's good. Good to know.
Starting point is 00:40:26 I would freak out about it. But when you have Lady Gaga publicly saying, like, don't be upset. Like, I think you've just got to take her word for it. Cody Simpson released a new song about Miley Cyrus as we know their relationship is heating. up. They can't stop posting everywhere together. Finally, Cody Simpson released his new song about Miley Cyrus. Yeah, you know, like we said, we've been talking about them all the time. We want to talk about the song because honestly, it's like, it's a beautiful song, in my personal opinion.
Starting point is 00:42:39 It's very romantic. It is a very romantic song. And I think he's going for that, you know, just suave musician type. It's very John Mayer-esque. It is John Mayer-esque. But I feel like for him and Miley personally, it's a lot nicer. You know, it's a good song. It's a romantic song.
Starting point is 00:42:59 It's a beautiful love song. I mean, if you're a Cody Simpson fan, I'm sure you enjoy it. But it's just nice for them to have now. And Miley's like, oh, he put out that song for me and she could swoon over him. And it helps their relationship, I think. Yeah. It's different because I think like there is an aspect of right away knowing that the song is about Miley Cyrus that it's like, you know, there's something when I think you hear a love song and you either pretend that it's like about you or you kind of have to guess. who it's about and that's fun or they don't actually come out and say who it's about but
Starting point is 00:43:40 like you know who it's about. These two like clear as day. It's about Miley. She's on the cover art. It's very much a song about Miley Cyrus. So it just feels like a little inside look to their life. Which makes the song like I said beautiful, but I don't know if this is necessarily one that everybody's like listening to all the time.
Starting point is 00:44:04 Yeah. Because it's a personal thing between them. It feels personal between them. Usually with love songs, you hear it like you said. And you're like looking out the window, acting like you're in a music video. This is about me. This relates to my relationship. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:20 This one we know is specific to Miley, which happens in a lot. I mean, I'm just a Bieberly songs were about Selena Gomez and Haley. And when people are married, like it's always about their life. That they're writing the love song about their wife. Yes. John Legend. All of me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:36 Chrissy Teigen. Yeah. Beautiful song. Yeah, you know what? Maybe this theory is actually total trash because I listen to all of me all the time. Yeah. But I think it's because John Legend is a more notable musician than Cody Simpson. Fair.
Starting point is 00:44:51 Fair. And yeah. Yeah. And I don't know. Yeah. I don't know what I'm saying. I think we're just confused about Cody Simpson. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:02 I'm just like. How do we feel about him? I think I try justifying why I won't be listening to this song a lot when in reality I'm just not going to be listening. You know, like there's really no reason. I'm just probably We're trying to make up reasons to why we won't be listening to it, but realistically we're just not going to listen to it because frankly we don't like it that much even though it's a beautiful, beautiful song and he sounds great. And I would like to see a music video. I kind of space out there for a second. I would, now, if, if, if, now, if, if, me with like a music video of the two of them I'm back in. Yeah, I pictured
Starting point is 00:45:37 Miley Cyrus in like a golden dress running around on these green hills with the sun shining down on her, blonde hair, golden thing. Maybe she's riding a horse bear back. Yeah, ooh. And Cody Simpson then comes riding in and he's holding a guitar and they're just dancing
Starting point is 00:45:54 around and they're in some flower fields. I think we are kind of coming up with scenes from the Hannah Montana movie. We're just picturing the Hannah Montana movie. She's an attractor. Yeah. She's at the Santa Monica Pier.
Starting point is 00:46:07 She's riding a horse through the sunshine and Lucas Till, Cody Simpson, rolls up on his horse singing a song. Yeah, I'm pretty sure we both just started imagining the Hannah Montana movie in our head. Or would work. Scenes from now I'm about to get dark, but the lovely bones. Oh, I never saw that movie. You've never seen the lovely bones? No.
Starting point is 00:46:25 Have you seen the lovely bones who know what I'm talking about? Not when she's on Earth, but when she's in the other place. Yeah. And it's just. Yeah. like flowery and you know green that's what I'm picturing even though it's a dark movie so bad comparison on my part let's go back to hand montana movie i don't know why my mind just went there yeah um yeah i i think that if they put out a music video that'd be amazing even though we
Starting point is 00:46:49 don't need a music video to see much of them because they're posting so much anyway i just am like concerned for leam hemisworth because and we'll talk about this later on in the show but jenna Duan talked about Channing Tatum and being blindsided by the relationship that he didn't know was going on with Jesse Jay. She didn't know what was going on with Jesse Jay. And I just feel like my heart would be crushed if I was Liam
Starting point is 00:47:13 seeing her post so much with Cody. Because I feel like there should be a rule that there should be a certain amount of time. Yeah. In between relationships, when you start posting this much about them. Do you think you think he probably just like has her blocked? I would
Starting point is 00:47:31 hope so, but it's so hard to hide from Miley Cyrus in this world when you're a celebrity who's probably being told the celebrity news. I have a question. This is an Instagram question. If you follow somebody and then you block them. Yeah. Does it still say you follow them? I don't know. No. No? No. Well, Liam still follows Miley. Oh. Oh my God. He has to unfollow her. Yeah. How is she? This is not good for his
Starting point is 00:48:02 I'm telling you it can't be good for his health because this wouldn't be good for anybody's health She still follows him too They follow each other Unless you're Brody Jenner Who can just move on from person to person Like it's no problem Like when Caitlin Carter went to go move on with Miley
Starting point is 00:48:16 And Brody Jenner didn't have a carnal Carin'all He was just like in love with Josie could say go Him and Josie are in love And they're so cute Okay But what? Yeah they I was actually wondering this
Starting point is 00:48:26 And I've been I keep forgetting to look it up They do still follow each other Now obviously Liam Hemsworth does not follow Cody Simpson, so he doesn't see a lot of, you know what? He has been posting on the two of them, but I'm sure he's heard of it,
Starting point is 00:48:43 and they still follow each other. Although, you know, sometimes that happens. Like sometimes you just follow an X for way longer than you need to. I think I would keep following. Yeah, like, and then... I think I would keep following because I want to see, but even though I don't want to see. Right, exactly.
Starting point is 00:49:02 And then you wait. to see. Like I had this happen. I'm not putting anybody on blast, but an ex-boyfriend, like, we had followed each other after we broke up and was like a long time. We'd follow each other still for a long time. And then I one day I was just like, I saw a story or something. I was like curious. And I went to see and he unfollowed me. Who knows when? And I was like, oh, God damn. I'd probably look like an idiot. I've still been following for so long. Who knows when he unfollowed me? Yeah. He had the upper hand. I had to unfollow him after. That's why it may be better to just unfollow right away because you're winning.
Starting point is 00:49:37 You automatically have the upper hand. You never want to be the person who gets unfollowed first. That's what I'm saying. Like if Miley unfollows Liam, then everyone's going to be like, oh, Miley still, like, Miley unfollowed him, but he still follows her. And then that would look bad on Liam. Yeah. It would be embarrassing for him. But not really, because he's Liam Hensler.
Starting point is 00:49:54 Right. And he's just super hot. He's making out with Madison Brown, which I hope he's happy with because if I was him, I would be crushed by, I mean, this song. He's got this guy writing songs about his ex-wife. Yeah. Golden Thing. I bet Liam called Miley Golden Thing. It's tough.
Starting point is 00:50:13 So Jenna Dewan has a new memoir coming out. It's called Gracefully You Finding Beauty and Balance in the Every Day. She's kind of opening up a little bit more about the divorce with Chating Tatum. And it seems like that all hit a little bit worse than maybe everybody thought. or it's hard because she was saying there was an excerpt given to E-News where she said, I was learning things about my ex. Most people wouldn't have to face and over the internet as it was happening. There I was on a plane alone finding out about his new relationship.
Starting point is 00:50:49 I felt blindsided. Yeah, this is tough because obviously when you were married and have kids with somebody, you don't want to find out about their new relationship over the internet. but when you're a celebrity, that happens. And also, I think it happens more often than not nowadays, not even with celebrities, because how often are you going to reach out? Because of social media, and usually that happens with, you know,
Starting point is 00:51:17 you'll just see an ex move on. All of a sudden they post a picture with their new boyfriend. But in this case, because you guys are so close and you do have kids together, I feel like it should be more cordial where they can say, hey, I'm dating somebody new. whereas if me or you broke up with our boyfriends and we started dating somebody new, I don't think we would necessarily go out of our way to reach out to tell them if time had passed. You're right.
Starting point is 00:51:46 It's very different, I think, at what stage you're at in your life. And also, anytime there's these mega-stars celebrity divorces, everybody, I think, all the rumors and all the stories, everybody speculates so much. so their actual feelings and how they handle it kind of get brushed under the rug. Like everyone's like, oh, because I mean, Jenna did start dating somebody and so did Channing. Jenna started dating somebody before Channing did.
Starting point is 00:52:15 So maybe she handled it differently than Channing. Maybe she told him and then he didn't tell her. Who knows. So she wrote when they split that she was in a state of shock at the beginning of her separation. She said, it felt as though I were in. a dark closet desperately trying to find the light or the way out one week i'd be doing really well and the next week i was slammed with a whole new slew of emotions the rumor mill was churning out story
Starting point is 00:52:41 after story there were many times i hit under the covers wondering what was next the pain hit me like a tumbling avalanche i was completely overcome with fear and sadness it took many moments of sitting alone with my grief to force me into surrendering to my roller coaster of a situation It is pretty depressing It is pretty depressing And you know She wrote this book So I'm sure there's going to be way more in this
Starting point is 00:53:06 Than just those pieces And it is sad no matter what When you're that close with somebody And you have kids and then all of a sudden It's over there with somebody new But it seems like Jenna from an outside point looking in And I think that's a point that she's making Is that we don't all know everything
Starting point is 00:53:21 Because it's rumor mill But we do know that she is pregnant for a fact So I'd like to think that her relationship is going well and that she's happy. Yeah. And actually maybe Channing was the one who started dating first because she wrote, when I was ready, I started dating someone amazing.
Starting point is 00:53:39 It was this cosmically great thing where we circled back around each other after a moment of instant recognition years ago. So maybe it wasn't, but who know, I mean, who knows? It's tough because like she said, rumor mill circulates and that's what's so hard. But it's also so hard to ignore
Starting point is 00:53:56 it's hard as fans and I mean as us and what we talk about to like ignore all those rumors because I mean there's a lot of rumors that Channing Tatum was really like hooking up with tons of people you know yeah there were so who knows what happened you know before their marriage ended after their marriage ended she wrote my instinct is to fight back set the record straight what stops me every time is choose to say what you would want yourself to live with a week from today or choose what you would want Everly to read when she's older. So I guess you had to like bite her tongue, obviously, because they do have a daughter together.
Starting point is 00:54:33 But it doesn't necessarily paint Channing Tatum in the best light. But I also think that's kind of fair. And as to be expected when you're like recently divorced and you write a whole memoir about your life, you're not going to have rainbows and butterflies about your ex. No, it's not going to be like we had the best relationship ever. because if they did, they would still be together. Yeah. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:54:58 So it's tough. But like you said, she is pregnant now and she seems really happy. So the book looks beautiful. She's in this like long pink gown on the cover of this. I think I might read it. Yeah, I said that about, I said that about Demi Moore's book. I still haven't read it. We have to pick both of them up and then we'll swap.
Starting point is 00:55:21 I'll read one first. You read one first. Then we'll switch. Okay. Deal. So this is unfortunate any time something like this happens. Apparently on Thursday night, Dami Lovato's Snapchat was hacked. And it said, join this Discord server for my nudes. Yeah, it was like a swipe up on your Snapchat. Yeah, the whole thing, obviously a hacking.
Starting point is 00:55:41 And then it offered a link for people to swipe up and see more pictures. So who knows if it actually is her or not her because the pictures are now removed. But either way, it's a hacking. Yeah, which sucks. And it's crazy to me that we still haven't figured out a way to stop this from happening. Yeah. It's so unfortunate and sad. And like, you know, everybody's been talking about it on Twitter and I think the pictures were circulating and whatnot. I have not, we have not seen them. It's not like, it's not something that I'm going to go looking for. No, I haven't been actively looking for it either. It feels like a. massive invasion of privacy. And I mean, we love Demi Lovato. So like I can't imagine how she's feeling right now.
Starting point is 00:56:30 So like this this whole thing sucks so much. All I know is that people were saying that, I guess the pictures look real, but could also be also could be fake or edited or who knows what. But regardless, she was hacked. Who knows what kind of personal information was taken. It was on her Snapchat. So I, I mean, I'm getting.
Starting point is 00:56:53 to the point where I'm like about to go like leave Britney Spears alone status on like leave Demi Lovato alone like hasn't she been through enough? Right. Can't we just leave her nudes alone? Even if even if they are out there can't we just let them be to her? Like Debbie Lovato has been through so much.
Starting point is 00:57:12 Her mental health and just everything that she has had to battle through. She just lost one of her like very close friends just died recently to a drug issue she got like a tattoo for him she's been posting about that she's been already like that's so sad it's been you know she had her own incident where she almost died and now like people are hacking her snapchat like just go away it's so annoying it sucks it absolutely sucks that there's no way to stop this from happening to people um i actually wanted to talk about this on the last podcast and i forgot
Starting point is 00:57:45 to mention it but i wanted to give a shout out to this girl because it kind of has something to do with this so this girl DM me the other day and was like hey Ria, this girl is such a real one, I can't even get over it. Yeah. She DM me and was like, hey, Ria, I just wanted to let you know that my boyfriend told me that in his Snapchat group, they sent a nude of you. And they said that his friend works with your ex-boyfriend and he sent the nude to them, this, that, the other thing.
Starting point is 00:58:11 Background info. Yeah. When I was an intern, somebody posted this fake nude, just of this random girl's asshole with like a lime green wall, which I just wouldn't be caught dead having in the first place, which is what I'm more mad about. Like, come on. Anyways, this girl's a random asshole. I was an intern at the time.
Starting point is 00:58:27 So the commenters were like, this is funny. We'll just post this random picture of a random girl. And just said it was me. And now, since then, people have just always believed it's me. And it's not me. And then when she said ex-boyfriend, my ex-boyfriend, I dated when I was like 16. And that was like the last time I sent a nude. So I'm like, first of all, that's like illegal at this point.
Starting point is 00:58:46 Totally. Pictures of me from 16 years old. But then I was like, so I said to this girl, I'm like, I'm pretty sure. it's this fake nude from when I was an intern. I was like, is there a lime green wall in there? She said, yes, there is a lime green wall. Like, that's, that ain't me. That's not me. But it just sucks that people will believe it's you no matter what. Right. So like it's, for instance, Demi Lovato, oh, these are Demi Lovato's nudes. All of a sudden, somebody believes it. It could not be her. Could be edited. Could be Photoshop. Could be edited, could be Photoshop. Could just be a random
Starting point is 00:59:17 person that you don't know. And it sucks because it's like an invasion of privacy on your part because you want people to know so bad it's not you and people just believe what they want and they just like have this image of you um so it's frustrating and like obviously demi lovado is you know a huge celebrity so it's way worse for her but also just wanted to give a shout out to that girl for being such a real one being like my boyfriend showed me and then she just blew up her boyfriend spot like that like you're a real listener totally and also like have a talk with your boyfriend oh i said to her i was like, can you please let your boyfriend know that those are fake? And if there were nudes of me, I'd probably be like 16 years old, then that would be illegal.
Starting point is 00:59:58 So tell him to watch out. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, if it's on his phone, like, hello, buddy, will maybe be a little more careful. But yeah, but it's totally not me, which is also the frustrating part that now people see this girl's asshole and they're like, that's real asshole. And it's not. Sorry, I just want to get that out there.
Starting point is 01:00:14 I'm here to say. It is not. That is not my asshole. That is our full statement. statement. It is tough because I my is your snap you I mean you're never on Snapchat but is your Snapchat private or public's because it was private
Starting point is 01:00:27 okay my like so is my Snapchat like my Snapchat I have it for my friends like I Snapchat my family my friends like my boyfriend like I don't it's not a public thing but there are people we like I would say maybe a couple times a month we get
Starting point is 01:00:43 fake text messages of people trying to get us to send a snap code to like some random phone number. Like they send us like, oh, suspicious activity on your Snapchat, please enter, you know, this code. Or please send us the code, whatever.
Starting point is 01:00:59 And then you get another text. I'm like, this is not a real, like this is not a real thing. People are trying to hack into your, like a Snapchat account. And it's, it really sucks. And obviously, like you said,
Starting point is 01:01:13 for a celebrity, it's on an even crazier scale. Like, I think if I, like if I was as famous as Demi Lovato, it's just like you can't even have it I wouldn't even have Snapchat like you can't you just you just can't even have it which sucks so much but you just can't and it's funny because I laugh
Starting point is 01:01:30 I'm like okay yeah hack my Snapchat all my snap memories are like me drunk with my friends and like really cheesy cute videos of me and my boyfriend like go to town enjoy those yeah enjoy like there's not anything there right the lengths that people go to to hack people are insane to me just insane somebody called my family's phone plan.
Starting point is 01:01:51 They called Sprint Up. And they paid for my entire family's phone bill thinking that would get the code to my phone so they could just take over my phone completely on their phone. Like, what are you doing with your life? I've got nothing interesting on there. Literally nothing interesting.
Starting point is 01:02:08 It's so lame. And it just really makes me want to scream, like leave Demi Lovato alone from the rooftops because she I know she has a support system and she has her friends there, but like this I can't even imagine what that feeling is like and it's it's just it's just awful and there's like and then I I was looking at tweets I didn't not like looking for the news but when I searched Demo
Starting point is 01:02:38 Lovato on Twitter to see the stories that were coming up and like you know there's guys tweets being like ooh like Demi Lovato's nudes like send me a link I'm like ew oh oh yeah you Keep that to yourself. Just like, I hate, I just. The internet is a gross place per usual. It really is.
Starting point is 01:02:55 A lot of times I really can't. It just makes me really sad. Yeah. But hopefully, you know, there's nothing she can do at this point, but it just, yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:05 It just sucks that we can't figure out a way to protect everybody's phone. I know. And she's been like so, she's been so great and like so body positive and feeling great about herself that I just don't, I hope like none of this. this breaks that down because I feel like she's been in a good place.
Starting point is 01:03:23 Yeah, and it would be very unfortunate for something to just like explode. So hopefully she's with the right people. Sending our love to Demi Lovato. Yes, we love Demi. Before we get into our interview with the lovely Catherine McNamara, I want to remind you guys that knowledge is power. And when you know more, you can make better decisions for your body, your health, and your future.
Starting point is 01:03:44 There aren't many bigger decisions than having a child, but for many women, their fertility is a bigger question mark. If you want more information about your ability to get pregnant, you need modern fertility. Modern fertility is a quick and easy hormone test you can take at home, whether you're thinking of trying for a baby now or want to know your options for the future. Obviously, Rhea and I are not trying to have children right now, but like we just said, knowledge is power. And if you're just even curious about what your options are for fertility-wise, or you just want
Starting point is 01:04:17 that information to know. what your body is working with. Modern fertility is the way to go. Your results are delivered within 10 days and your personalized dashboard will give you insight into how many eggs you have, hormone levels, and any reproductive red flags. You can also talk one-on-one with the fertility nurse or use the timeline tool to plan ahead. Proactive testing through your doctor can cost over a thousand dollars, but with modern fertility, you can get the same information for just $159. And right now, Modern Fertility is offering our listeners $20 off the test when you go to ModernFertility.com slash chicks. That's $20 off your fertility test when you go to Modernfertility.com slash chicks.
Starting point is 01:05:00 Once again, modern fertility.com slash chicks. All right, everyone, we are here with the lovely Catherine McNamara, who is currently starring on Arrow, CW, Season 8. Welcome to the show. Thank you very much. We're so happy to have you here. you are in an incredible outfit right now, which I wish when we were on radio and podcast, we could just give a visual of everyone's outfits because every time. We have guests come in and they just look so great and I'm like, I should really dress up
Starting point is 01:05:27 for work more. Me too. Every time. I'm like, damn. But also, you know, I wake up in the morning. I'm like, I'm going to put on leggings. So I guess that's really where I'm going to have to make that decision. But Catherine, thank you so much for joining us. Sorry, we just kind of like whisked you in here very quick. How has your day been? What's been going on? That's basically been my day. Just being whisked into places. I had a crazy flight situation where we had high winds in L.A. Couldn't take off the full tank of fuel.
Starting point is 01:05:53 Had to land in Salt Lake and then take off again. So I was four hours late. So this whole day has been just... Oh, my God. But in the best way. That's why you're thankful for a lovely hair makeup wardrobe publicity team that just makes it all happen. So true.
Starting point is 01:06:07 And for the coffee thing. Yes. So the eighth season of Arrow is out now. and it's the final season. So you joined in season seven. I did. And you play Mia. So can you talk about your role a little bit?
Starting point is 01:06:20 Yeah. So my role was a surprise just as much to me as anyone else. When I first auditioned, I had no idea that I was auditioning for the role of Oliver and Felicity's daughter. Total surprise to me. But honestly, it's been the greatest journey
Starting point is 01:06:33 to get to take the best parts of both of the characters and weave them into her story. And last season we got to see Mia really in her element and got to know her a bit and her past. And now this season, she has to be on a team for the first time.
Starting point is 01:06:45 And being raised by Felicity in isolation, being trained by Nissa Al-Gul who's an assassin, she doesn't play well with others. And having to learn how to operate on a team and how to listen to other people and do all of that, it sort of creates a new scenario and puts her out of her element in many ways. Yeah. And so we saw obviously this show has been on for a very long time. you know, seven, eight seasons. But, like, Robbie has talked about Robbie Mell.
Starting point is 01:07:17 Not Robbie Mell. Stephen. Stephen Mell. The other one. That's so bad. I truly confused. I confuse them all the time. They are brothers.
Starting point is 01:07:26 They are brothers. So that's going to be my saving grace. Stephen Mell has talked about how season eight is kind of like a little bit of a different format. Like they're wrapping up a lot of storylines. How has season eight felt different than season seven? Well, it's been a really special season. And I think that's why fans are going to love it so much
Starting point is 01:07:44 because the writers had the opportunity to know that it was the last season. They were able to think about, okay, we have 10 episodes. How do we want to close up this story? And they've done it in such a beautiful way and that each episode sort of pays respect to an element that has made Arrow Arrow. So, for example, in the first episode that we saw the other night, it's the pilot. And it goes back and brings back Colin Donald and Susanna Thompson
Starting point is 01:08:06 and John Barrowman, who were so iconic in the first couple of seasons, to get to see them again and kind of see the origins of the story happen all over again in a slightly different way. We start to see that throughout the season. Every episode highlights something that has been so instrumental
Starting point is 01:08:23 to the journey and adding new people into it and new situations. It's all building up to the crisis, which is the crossover this year. Yeah. What is it like, because obviously she's a fighter, do you do any crazy stunts? Oh, yeah, all the time.
Starting point is 01:08:38 And you do them by herself? A lot of them. This is the thing with Arrow is that, so for Shadowhunters, when I started that show, I had no idea how to throw a punch. I didn't know how to hold a sword. I didn't know how to do anything. And the trainers on that show worked with me three to five times a week. I was always in their training with them in the stunt room.
Starting point is 01:08:55 And they taught me everything I know. They made me a fighter. And I have so much respect for them for that because by mid-season 2, I was doing most of my own fighting and stunts. So now getting to go over to Arrow, I can bring that with me. Arrow stunts are a lot more intense and a lot. more dangerous at times. We have a lot more things exploding.
Starting point is 01:09:14 We have a lot of things that happen and a lot of heartfalls. Yeah, I get punched in the face a lot. So a lot of the stunt-based stuff, it's kind of 50-50. But when it comes to the fighting, they do let me do a lot of it myself, which given that it's such an instrumental part
Starting point is 01:09:28 of the character, it's something that I love doing. Right. It just always feels, I think, more genuine. You feel like you're probably portraying the character more when you actually get to do all the crazy stuff that she's doing.
Starting point is 01:09:41 People, fans are so excited to see this final season wrap up. And I think a lot of people are hoping that Mia could potentially meet her father. Do you think, are they now? Yeah. What do you think about that? I think that if, if that were to happen, and I know it's been rumored and I can neither confirm nor deny, what I can say is that if Mia and Oliver ever did meet, it would rock both of them beyond
Starting point is 01:10:09 beyond comprehension. Just because, especially for Mia, she's had such a kind of difficult relationship with her father because she's never had a relationship with her father. He disappeared when she was a baby and she's grown up living in the shadow of his legacy
Starting point is 01:10:25 and living with the fact that he gave up seeing her grow up to save strangers. And that's kind of a thing that she gets it because growing up, the daughter of a vigilante, you understand the concept. But until you live that life and until you understand the person, you can't really
Starting point is 01:10:44 come to terms with that. So she's harbored a lot of resentment for her father, her whole life. And even though she respects his legacy, it's still difficult. Yeah. Because those things are so deep within her very being. Right. So if that ever did happen, there would be a lot of baggage to go through. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:02 So we'll see. We'll see if it happens. We'll see what happens. And I want to say, like, you had a pretty big character departure. Emily Records who play Felicity is not on season eight. How has kind of the atmosphere been, the set been or set was without her there? Well, Emily is such an iconic part of Arrow. And even just on set culture, Emily is the life of the party always and just such a light.
Starting point is 01:11:29 I had such a wonderful time working with her and it was such a privilege to get to spend so much time with her. last season. And I know Stephen loved working with her as well. So we do feel her absence. And it's felt both in character and in social life on set. But what's great about it is that because she did have such an influence and she left such a mark on it, her absence is almost a character in and of itself. And you see these characters dealing not only with that, but the things that they're facing moving forward. and you feel her presence, even though she's not actually there.
Starting point is 01:12:06 Yeah, that's nice. So you work with a great cast on Arrow, and you worked with a great cast in Shadowhunters. I'm about to weird you out. So I am somehow connected to you in two different ways. Talk to me. So do you remember a movie you did Contest? Oh, yeah. I auditioned for Contest when I was in 9th grade, and I had been acting for years, and I went into this audition, and I named.
Starting point is 01:12:30 and I nailed it. And I walked out and I was like, if I don't get this, I'm quitting. Next day, I got a call. I got the part. But I had just started high school and it started filming the day of my finals. And they were like, my school was like, well, you got to go to summer school. My dad was like, well, she can't go to summer school.
Starting point is 01:12:47 She'll be filming. And then I had to give up the part. And then I saw you were in it. And I was like, I know who that is. I could have been in a movie with her. And I had to give that up. So that's the first way I'm connected. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:12:59 Yes. to Matthew Jadriel. I love Matthew Jadriel. Who I went to acting class with when I was way younger. I was in eighth grade and he was in my acting class every week. And we have the same manager. I don't know. I'm 22.
Starting point is 01:13:15 I don't know how old he is. He's like early 30 something. I know he was like a lot older than me at the time. I was going to say like. Yeah. So I mean if you were 13 and he was like, you know, maybe 20. Right. He was definitely.
Starting point is 01:13:30 way older and I was in eighth grade and we had the same acting teachers shout out and rachel we went every week together and he was so much older and cooler and I was like oh my god method stereo and I had to do the most embarrassing thing ever in front of him what um that I don't even know if he would remember it or not but it sticks with me every day that my acting teacher made me eat a clementine and like piece by piece pretend I was like having an orgasm and he was like sitting in front of me and I was so young and I was so embarrassed and my acting teacher was like having him sit in front of me and then all of a sudden he was on shadow hunters and I'm like oh my god yeah I had to do this in front of him and it sticks with me to this day well that's definitely an experience that you'll have with you for the rest of your life right and when your name got brought up I was like this is so weird I like know her because of shadow hunters and also this movie that I had to give up it's such a fun it's a hilarious story I love that story makes me laugh every time to the point we're like I really hope we have Matthew on our show at some just so Ria can
Starting point is 01:14:32 retell that story. Well, the thing about Matt is he, this is why I love Matt is he has such a unique perspective on the world and I always go to him when I have to make any big decisions because he will give me a perspective that no one else will give me. I just love the way his mind works
Starting point is 01:14:48 and so I would love to hear what his perspective of that experience is because I'm sure it's just amazing. I don't know if he would remember if he's completely blocked it out of his mind but oh my God, I remember it. But like I said, great cast. And Shadowhunters was great. We were actually at the People's Choice Awards last year where you won, which was awesome.
Starting point is 01:15:06 So do you stay in touch with the cast? Oh, for sure. I saw a couple of the Shadowhunters guys about three days ago. Actually, this is the thing. That show for all of us was so transformative. Because for me, specifically, I booked the show when I was 19. And the next thing I knew I was living in a foreign country with, I knew Dom beforehand, but mostly strangers. and trying to figure out this show
Starting point is 01:15:31 that had such responsibility with the source material and everything else. And being in such an isolated, all-encompassing experience from the ages of 19 to 23, those are the years that shape you as a human being. And I feel so lucky to be surrounded by people that not only I genuinely care about,
Starting point is 01:15:49 but they're brilliant artists and beautiful people. And just our cast, our crew, everyone that was involved in the show, the fandom, it's been the most positive experience, But I love those guys. They're my big brothers. You know, they pushed me to do things that I would have never otherwise done and take chances and learn how to be an adult and take risks and do all these things. And I would have never otherwise done that.
Starting point is 01:16:10 And I not been surrounded by people that little sistered me. And I think it's amazing. That is great. I mean, and you mentioned the fandom because it really is crazy. And I know you guys are also up for a people. I think a people's choice of one as well for this year. A couple. I think math nominated for people's choice.
Starting point is 01:16:26 Because they and I remember. remember last year just seeing all these Shadow Hunter fans like so vigilant with tweeting and voting and everything. I was like, wow, these are some, this is a very dedicated fan base, which is really cool because, I mean, when you get half fans like that, they'll follow you. Yeah. For the rest of your career. Well, what's so special about it is that you have these, as an actor, you put your your heart and soul, blood sweat and tears into every job you do, or at least I do. Yeah. And then Oftentimes, it goes out into the world and disappears. And people see it and they're like, oh, that's cool.
Starting point is 01:17:03 And then it goes away. But with Shadowhunters, I really got a chance to see it actually affect people's lives. And not only that, beyond the story affecting them, they took it beyond that as a fandom. And they created this movement and created a community of people to feel accepted, to feel loved, to feel seen, and feel like they had friends, kindred spirits across the globe. people that otherwise felt very alone and very isolated. It's really been amazing to see the community. And they really came out in droves when the show was canceled. To see them kind of move forward in a way that not only was writing to the networks
Starting point is 01:17:38 and getting a plane above the Netflix headquarters and things like this, but also getting over $25,000 together for the Trevor Project in the name of Shadowhunters. And there's a number of other charitable donations that they've done in the name of the show that I think it shows kind of the positivity. that social media can have and that the global connectivity our modern culture has is that you can actually accomplish really great things. Right. Because we can simply just be together.
Starting point is 01:18:05 Right. Yeah. It's so nice. And just by being on this show, you guys help. Yeah. The fact that I'm tangentially a small part of this really special community is beyond me. It's amazing. And, look, Rhee and I have been just kind of catching up with all these.
Starting point is 01:18:19 You have so much going on. So much. I'm like, oh my, she's in this. She's doing this. She's doing this. This is so cool. We saw recently that you are going to be at the center of this Arrow spin-off. Yeah, we're doing a backdoor pilot.
Starting point is 01:18:35 Can you explain to me what a backdoor pilot is? Because I saw that and I was like, I don't really know what that means. So basically, I always forget these terms that are kind of inside baseball when it comes to the entertainment industry. But a backdoor pilot is basically episode 9 of Arrow is the first episode after the crossover this season. and what they're doing is show it's the beginning of the epilogue of the series and they're kind of showing the next chapter in Mia's story. Okay. And kind of what happens. And then that can be taken if they so choose.
Starting point is 01:19:05 If they so choose first possible spinoff. Which would be so awesome because it would be kind of like a female driven show. Yeah, it's really interesting to see what they're going to do. I honestly don't know much yet about it because it's such a brand new kind of concept. But we're going to see what happens and it'll be really excited. Yeah. And also a CBS All Access show called The Stand. Tell us about that. Well, I am a huge Stephen King fan. If anybody follows me on social media, they know I posted far too much about it too, not only because of Isaiah Mustafa and I'm so excited for him, but also just because I'm the biggest Stephen King stand out there. It's such a special story. And especially right now, given the where our world is, I think it's such an important story to tell of what would happen if the world suddenly ended and how would our humanity manifest itself and all this diverse cast of characters coming together for the ultimate battle between good and evil. And Josh Boone, who's our director,
Starting point is 01:20:04 he has such a special relationship himself with the Stephen King material and seeing his passion for it through his production design and through the way he's sort of seeing this world created. It's going to be so special, you guys, honestly. And the whole cast they've established, is amazing. And the fact that I just get to go play with those guys, I'm so excited. It's super exciting. You are busy, busy, busy.
Starting point is 01:20:30 It's really just is very exciting. And we also saw, which we want to mention, that you are like a sneaky genius. You graduated high school at the age of 14 and graduated college at 17. Me and friend never even finished college. Well, I was never going to be an actor when I was a kid. I never knew what that job was. I wanted to be an economist.
Starting point is 01:20:54 Okay. And so I was a huge math nerd, then found when I discovered the real world application of math in economics and saw that these formulas could somehow explain the ups and downs of actual life and the world. I was fascinated. So I said, I have to be a part of this. Then I ended up doing a community theater show, the favor to a friend. Got the bug. I did.
Starting point is 01:21:18 I had one of those rare moments of clarity where I went, you know what? No, this is, I was put on this earth to tell stories and to create characters. And I can, I couldn't imagine doing anything else. But I still went to school for business. So I could manage my career. You do. You have that degree to fall back on it. I do. Which is a lot more than.
Starting point is 01:21:36 I don't think. I don't think you're going to need it, but it's great to have. But, I mean, you have a lot going for you right now. It's going great. And is there anything that we missed? Is there anything else coming up that you want to tell everybody about? You're working on music, right? I am.
Starting point is 01:21:50 Yeah. It's something that I've always kind of wanted to do and never had the time when I was fighting demons 10 months a year in Toronto. But I was able to have one of my songs on the soundtrack of Shadowhunters a few seasons ago, which was awesome. And people responded so well to it. But what's so interesting about music for me is every other aspect of my career I'm playing a character. And it's someone else's words, someone else's skin, their life experience. And then suddenly with my music, it's a little terrifying because it's a tiny bit of my own soul that I'm putting. out of the world and hoping that people respond to. But it's in the best way. And I love it. And it's
