Hey, Chicks in the Office listeners.
You can find every episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or YouTube.
Prime members can listen ad free on Amazon Music.
What's up, everyone?
It's Chicks in the Office with Rian Friend, giving you that Friday energy on a Monday.
We are back, ladies and gentlemen.
Sorry about not having an episode on Friday.
We told you guys we're on tour now, which was awesome.
We had our first tour stop in Boston last week on Wednesday and Thursday night.
and it was unbelievable, unbelievable.
Both nights were fantastic.
Thank you to everyone who came to these shows.
Thank you to everyone that's buying tickets.
I know they're selling out fast and people are jumping on them.
And, like, you know, there's been some confusion.
But thank you for sticking with us, fighting for those tickets.
PSA, we've got to post this on Instagram too.
Do not buy tickets from any.
Anyone or anything that's not directly through a Vembright.
Because there's people trying to sell tickets.
There's people trying to sell tickets on Instagram.
There are people who bought tickets to one of the Boston shows,
and they were all, like, fake tickets.
And then there was also Chicago.
There was someone on Instagram making fake tickets and selling them to people.
Who knew we were this popular?
So do not, like, if anyone reaches out to you,
do not buy tickets through Instagram.
truly is only on Eventbrite and that's it.
Yes. And by the way, our apologies, I'm not sure we talked about on the podcast.
I think we might have or maybe we didn't, but we post it on Instagram.
We are no longer using ticket pick to sell the tickets.
It is Event Bright.
So the link that we're posting on Chicks in the Office and our social is the only link you should be using.
But, yeah, Boston was unreal.
It exceeded our expectations by far.
I think that I was really nervous.
And I think you started to get a little bit more nervous.
closer to the show.
I think we flip-flopped.
I think I was very nervous leading up.
And then the day of,
wasn't nervous at all, just excited.
And then you were a little bit nervous the day of,
but you weren't nervous leading up.
You were excited.
So we kind of balanced each other out.
But it really was two awesome, awesome shows.
We had Trent come out and people lost their fucking minds.
Trent's just like a member of the backstreet boys.
Oh my gosh.
Bra's being thrown.
And we are taping these.
We're not sure what we're going to do with them yet.
We're going to hold on to them so maybe you guys can see them one day.
Trent will not be the supposed to guess at the other shows.
I was going to say, like PSA, I know people are going to be disappointed.
If you are coming to any of our other shows, we have fantastic guests.
We have a really exciting great guests.
I swear they are great guests.
They are not Trent.
So like, I don't want anyone, you know, people come in and then they're like screaming Trent's name.
Trent will not be at any of the other stops.
So respectfully, don't scream Trent's name because the other guests are going to
be upset if you don't scream for them. But Philly is going to be so much fun. We have, you know,
if you were at the Boston show, the Boston show was special to Boston. Now Philly is going to be
special to Philly. We have different things planned for each show. I think maybe Trent will be
in New York. Yeah, but the thing is, but no guarantees. Here's the thing about New York. New York is
going to be fucking insane. Yeah. The New York show is going to be crazy for many of reasons.
We got our family. We got our friends. We got special guests. Like, it's going to be.
insane and I just hope people are ready. I hope people are excited. Those tickets will go on sale
this week. Yes. Um, on Event Bright folks. Event Bright. Yes. Event Bright. Only event bright. I am now addicted
to Tour Life. Yeah. I had post-show depression the next day. I was like, I wish we were just
rolling right into Philly. There's no better feeling than getting on stage and entertaining you guys.
And you guys having a great time, like being able to talk to people after the show, before the show,
people DMing after and saying what they like.
Nobody said they didn't like anything, which was great.
I'm sure there are some stuff.
But everyone just said they had a really great time.
And that's all we want to do is have fun with everybody.
Like it felt like we were meeting our friends and just, you know, there were some gifts were given to me.
A lot of joints were given to me.
And I have to say thank you for that.
The people who come with Gates.
Yeah, legal.
And it was awesome.
And shout out to live event, Lisa, who runs the live events here.
we were asked about a rider
what we wanted specifically in like a green room type place
before we go on stage.
You had a very funny answer.
We talked about this.
Condoms and Don Perry on.
But then we had snacks and you know the typical stuff.
Our actual green room situation was for a seven-year-old.
I did have one issue with it.
Sour Patch Kids, Eminem, Swedish fish, popcorn.
Peanut.
Oh, there were peanut butter.
There were peanut pretzels.
which we did not ask for,
just putting that out there.
I was certainly not our fault.
I didn't eat a single one of them, Noah.
Didn't even open the jar.
Fran might have been the only one.
I did not go near that jar.
I love them so much.
I had to have one.
But I posted on my story
and I said,
all this candy but no backwards
as a joke the next day,
five packs of backwoods on there
and a joint.
Lisa.
Just unreal picturing Lisa going in
to buy backwards.
She had to call up
another person who works here and be like,
she didn't know what they were.
She didn't know what they were. She was like,
to FaceTime Justin and be like,
are these the right things? Yeah. Just
unreal. Couldn't ask for anything better
and we're so excited for
the next stops up. I mean, we just had so
much fun. Like, yeah. Even after
the shows,
Noah and I and Natalie and
Devon walked to this place and I want to give a
shout out to the people of Boston who kept telling
us about this place, Bovas, which
by the way, people
kept yemming me. This is so funny.
People kept DMing me go to bovas.
And I thought it was a joke that I'd answer and say, what's bovas?
And they would say, bova these nuts.
Like, I just thought that that would be a funny joke.
And so I never answered these people until in person, these girls were like, you got to go to bovas.
And I was like, wait a second, bovas.
And they were like, yeah, Bovas.
And they started explaining it.
I was like, oh, it's a real place.
Yeah.
I had to explain that.
I thought I was getting fooled.
Great place.
We had calzone, pizza, rice balls, canoles.
and I had my first rice bowl
Yeah, what did you think
I liked it
It was good
It's not what I thought
It wasn't just rice
Try and I were just
Full grandma and grandpa
Mom and dad
Which was like
You were like I will be back down
And then just never came back
Yeah mom and dad
Irish stuff so bad
Try and I also don't smoke
So like
That's just kind of what you guys were doing
All as a group
You could just hang out
Yeah hanging out is fun
It is
It is but if you're the only one
Not smoking
In a group of people
that are.
But you and Trent would have had each other.
Yeah.
Well, Trent, there was no way
you were getting Trent to come back out.
Like, Trent was, I really was convinced he was coming.
Yeah.
The doors closed in the elevator and Trump was like,
I see you tomorrow.
I texted him.
I texted with Jared.
Like, oh, let's get Trent.
Right, right.
We were going to go out with Jared.
There was literally no chance.
Trent was coming back.
Yeah, well, we were actually going to go
because you, you know, you expect
you're doing a live show,
but you guys are going to party after.
No.
No.
We were going to go.
We had a love of dinner.
Monicas once in night.
But shout out to Monica's.
amazing Italian dinner.
We were going to go to the Grand, which is a big club
in Boston, people say.
And shout out to the one.
A lot of a shout out.
Yeah, the only clubs in Boston.
They were going to hook us up and it was going to be great.
And we just were so tired after the show
that all we wanted to do was eat.
We were just so hyped up all week
in anticipation for the two shows
that when the Thursday night ended,
it was just like a wave of relief
slash like I kind of just
want to do nothing.
Yes, exactly. I mean, I slept so much after that. And then on top of that,
you guys know we love champs, Penn State.
Champs Penn State came to New York City, came to bounce.
Another shout out, because we can't stop shouting people out. Shout out Dante.
Love Dante. Love Dante. Love Champ's Best Bar. Got a couple dirty sprites,
which just are absolutely delicious. Penn State did not win the game.
That's right. It was.
It was interesting because it really didn't feel like a lot of people were paying attention
in the first place, but Bounce is a, is a wild time.
It's a time.
It's a time.
It was a great weekend.
The timing is funky now, like with coming home on like a Friday and then it's the weekend.
And then now it's like it's just all of our, like, Wednesday and Thursday felt like weekends.
So now this is just, our timing is just completely thrown off.
But I have no idea with Danes.
No, I know, exactly.
We're so excited for Philly on Thursday.
I cannot wait.
Good vibes.
We're going in with good vibes because the Eagles snuck out of Wednesday.
They totally should have lost and they won.
So now we're going into Thursday a little bit more hyped.
They're going to get their ass to kick probably by the bucks.
But that's okay because the energy beforehand is going to be great.
If you're coming to the Philly show, we're starting a little bit earlier 7 p.m.
Start time so that we can.
have a certain special guests be there.
And there is not one, not two, but three special guests in Philly.
We do have three guests.
Now, if you're watching the YouTube, I'm wearing a sweatshirt that can give you a hint on two of the guests.
Now, if you're not watching the YouTube, that's unfortunate.
Maybe you have to go to the YouTube to find out.
But then there's another other special guests as well.
So big three guests and all different things going on in this show.
Big time.
There's so many different things going on in this show.
It's going to be a great time.
But we're really excited.
And other than that, it's been a great weekend.
Feel a little tired.
But I guess, you know, start another week.
It's Monday, baby.
It's Monday.
And we have an awesome, awesome guest coming in on Tuesday.
Yeah, I'm excited.
In person, we're just teasing the fog on everything.
People are like, are you ever going to give us anything?
Yeah, yeah.
But we have a lot of stuff.
to catch up on. We got a lot of topics from last
week. We're going to dive into
we also have great
interviews coming up. We got
two stars
that we are obsessed with. They've been on our
list for a long time of people that we want. They just
happened to be in a new Netflix show together.
So they were doing press.
We got to have both of them. Today's episode will be
Greg Sulkin.
Just an absolute
delight of a man.
Such a delight.
And Wednesday we'll have
Emily Osmond, which we were so, like, she's just really feels like not a famous person, you know,
like she just seems very chill and normal.
But they have a new show out together on Netflix, so we got both of them.
So I think let's get into the show today.
Let's get into it.
We have Jana Kramer and Jay Cutler split up already.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion trailer, Kim Kardashian on Saturday Night Live.
Chris Evans and Selena Gomez rumors.
Justin Bieber is talking about having baby.
He's with Haley, and we have a great interview with Greg Salkin, like we said.
So let's get into it, starting off with Jana and Jay.
I think you guys all know Allbirds or have heard the name Allbirds, probably because you
think of the sneakers, super comfortable.
Tons of people wear them.
I think they're most known for their shoes, but now they are breaking in to the performance
apparel and workout gear, which is really, really exciting.
They have their new women's natural leggings.
which is the true hero of this collection.
If you're working out,
chances are you're wearing synthetic fabrics made from oil.
Yes, you heard me, oil.
The primary culprit in the global climate crisis
is also the main ingredient in your favorite performance apparel.
But it does not have to be.
That's why Allbirds found a more sustainable way
with their new collection of natural run apparel.
These leggings are so great.
I've been wearing them all the time.
You know, I have a Peloton bike at home.
So when I'm jumping on the bike, I can throw in my All-Burr's leggings.
I have them in like the navy color.
They're super, super cute.
And what you love, like I said, is they are made from these natural materials.
So they have this buttery, soft material.
It's breathable, flexible, comfortable.
So when you're sweating, it doesn't really feel like those leggings are sticking to you,
which I think happens a lot with other leggings.
They've been rigorously tested.
The natural leggings are ready for every squat, stretch, stride.
and sustainable materials like eucalyptus fiber
help keep you cool and dry naturally.
They also have a compressive high waistband
internal draw cord so you feel secure
and confident. They also have a back pocket
that can hold your phone, which is a great addition.
And you can pair it with the National Run
Tank to complete your luck.
We love our leggings.
So you guys should try them out too
with the Allbirds Natural Run Collection.
Nature is making a comeback.
Shop the collection today at allbirds.com.

short-lived relationship between Jana Kramer and Jay Cutler.
We only talked about that last week, and now it is over already.
So just in case you thought Jay Cutler was only dating Janet Kramer to make
Kristen Cavalry jealous, here's your confirmation.
Yeah, that seems to be the case.
They were out a few times.
We talked about it, like you said, on the podcast recently.
And then, bam, Us Weekly says that they broke up.
sources say that
Jay tried to take her to
like the most public places he could
and national they're going to events, trying to be
seen in an attempt
to make Kristen jealous
but at the end of the day Kristen didn't
really care at all and therefore
they broke him
poor Jana Kramer.
Like I just want her
Right. This is exactly what we said.
Did not deserve this. Maybe she needs
to step out of Nashville. Yeah.
I feel like she just
deserves a nice guy to treat her right at this point. Jay Cutler wasn't going to be that.
Jay Kotler, she needs like an average Joe. I don't have a problem with Jay Cutler. I kind of like
his dickish side. Like I feel like he's, you know what I mean? But it's almost like not for Januk.
Yeah. I get what you're saying. Like I don't know. No, no, not at all. I get what you're saying
because I he does give up those vibes, but he also, I think owns that that is him. Yes, that's what I like.
dick and says like, oh, I'm such a nice guy. He's like, oh, he's like a dick and he's like, yeah,
I'm a dick. Yeah, I respect that about people who are like that because then you just know
who they are. And then when they treat you special, then you know they really like you. Right.
In this case, not for Jana. No. And it's just the pettiness back and forth between Kristen and
Jay that have been going on. Truly, it feels like since they broke up. And it does seem like,
and you know, who these sources are,
we obviously don't know.
This could be Kristen's sources being like,
oh, she didn't care at all.
Like, doesn't bother her whatsoever.
It so does, though.
It so does bother her.
She blocked it on Instagram.
Yeah, there's just no way.
You don't block someone unless you're bothered.
Yeah.
It just feels like they're going to continue to go back and forth like this
when they continue to date.
people that they either previously knew
or they just run in the same circles as them.
Nashville is very small.
And they all, like we said,
everybody ends up dating each other.
And Kristen and Jay just keep like going tit for tat here a little bit.
Nashville is like high school.
It does feel like that.
You know what I mean?
From the outside.
You're all dating the same people.
Right.
You're only in one place.
Right.
It's like Nashville.
Yeah.
that's the um that was kind of like expected i think from jay like that made sense to me it was like
janica kramer okay there's just someone maybe this could be something no he'll probably
continue to date people in nashville would be my guess just a lot of the same types of people
and then one day him and christin will end up back together yeah i really know you i agree with you on that
I do think that eventually they will just get back together.
I just feel it coming.
Like these two hate each other but love each other.
They're going to find their way back.
Yeah.
It is like a Mr.
Mrs. Smith vibe.
I know I said that, but it's just like they
are at each other's throats,
but it's like sexual and they just can't get enough.
And they're going to continue to like,
instead of being like, it is spies and trying to kill each other.
They'll just keep dating other people until eventually they just realize that probably there's no one else on their petty levels as each other.
And they're meant to be.
I kind of think so.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion trailer has been released and Andy Cohen is not letting Erica Jane get away with this easy.
Guys, I am so excited for the four-part reunion.
Four-parts.
I think it is going to be frustrating because it is four-part.
that everybody obviously wants to focus on the Erica Jane stuff.
So we probably, I feel like won't get that until the last two episodes
and the first two episodes.
It's probably going to be, you know, the Lisa and Garcel stuff
and maybe Sutton and Crystal and the other kind of side drama.
But when we do finally get to that moment,
it is going to be so good.
And just, I'm also so excited to see the Eric's,
Sutton interactions because, you know, the seasons wrapped up.
The last, the finale was on, you know, last Wednesday.
And when they were on their trip, it did seem like Erica and Sutton maybe figure things
out, not like weren't going to be friends, but could, you know, be in the same room together
because it started to get very uncomfortable.
And then Chinese New Year and it's like Erica in her interviews, it's like, oh, no,
never giving Sutton another chance for like, literally, like.
like fuck that bitch is basically like what she's saying so it's going to be very interesting it was
incredibly uncomfortable to watch this scene of you know they're saying Chinese New Year I know it's
just it was I don't know why I'm doing this in my hands but I'm cringing thinking about how I'm
sitting in a detective room with you I'm I'm cringing thinking back to it because they're sitting at
this table and Chinese New Year they're you know talking about
tying up loose ends and all those things to get ready for a new year and and
Sutton puts it out there to Erica like wants to move past this and and not even if it's not a
friendship just be cordial and move past this whatever and and Erica says nothing.
Nothing. Not a word comes out of her mouth and everyone at the table is just looking at her like
are you going to respond to what's what's that and just said nothing she said nothing it was incredible
to watch even like you know pk sid next to her and then it's like that was incredibly
unbelievable to watch you just didn't say anything at all so now seeing that they're actually
going to have to talk to each other on this reunion you know pretty blatantly looks like erika calls
her the c word so we're just she did and yeah it
It's just going to be so intense.
She called her a cunt on the trailer.
And I mean, I can't wait for this because we know that Andy Cohen does not shy away from asking uncomfortable questions and making the women talk to each other because otherwise they could just all run around each other and ignore each other and like text on side and like group chats or whatever.
They have to sit down in a room for hours.
I don't think people understand how.
long reunions are filmed hours they have to sit in this room together and Erica Jane
not looking good it does look like she gets caught up a little bit it looks like she is getting
caught up and I think it's showing every like everywhere I think she just did not look well on this
in this trailer at all and you mentioned this about Kyle and everyone else and everyone else
like sticking up for her
or when do they draw the line?
What do you think is going to happen here?
They're not cracking.
They will, I think, continue to have
her back.
I think the only problem is that Doreet
and Rina, I think, is in a good spot.
Like, Kyle,
because it just felt more like Rina
never really did doubt that much
all season. Like, she, I think
she was probably
the one that it seemed
had Erica's back the most
Kyle and
Doreet do that
but then in other scenarios
there's doubt they're questioning certain things
questioning certain stories
and it was that scene
that Joe Gorgor was talking about
with P.K. and
Maricio were talking about
the whole thing and doubting her
and sitting at dinner
and so that's what we also saw in the channel
was like your husband said this
and Kyle's like, I can't control what my husband says.
And she's like, I can't control it.
Tom Gerardy does either.
So I think is going to get a little contentious between them.
But at the end of the day...
You can't control what your husband says.
Yeah, yeah.
But you can maybe control your husband not stealing millions and millions of dollars
from plain crash victims.
Right.
Or like knowing that it's happening.
Like, I feel like this is a little different from Mauricio talking about things
versus your husband, like actually doing bad things.
It shows how defensive she really has been getting.
But I don't know, they're just from social media and the way they still kind of all post.
It does feel like those five are all still very close.
You know, there's the, they call themselves something Fox, Fox 5 something.
I don't know.
They call themselves the Fox 5.
Yeah, it's like they have some kind of.
Fox 5 news.
No, no, there's another word.
There's another F word in there that I'm missing.
And it's Rina to read, Kyle, Erica, and Teddy.
And because there's this whole LA Times article that came out this week that was Sutton,
Garcel, and Crystal.
And you could see these three compared to the others who've been on.
And it does feel like there is still very much a divide there.
But it is going to be great.
Andy does seem like he is finally asking some good questions, get putting it out there, maybe going to hopefully, I don't think she's going to even answer anything, but it's going to be nice to see it. Andy, at least try and, you know, push her buttons a little bit. We're getting some good reunion content. I don't watch Potomac. I know people absolutely love Potomac. And Nikki Minaj did get to be a part of that reunion. That's fucking awesome. So I think that that people are probably going to be super excited about seeing that happen too.
But starting this week, man, I can't wait for it.
And I feel like we've been a little reunion deprived.
We just haven't had a lot of good reunion content.
New York can do one.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I can't wait.
It'll be good.
Lots of rumors swirling around about Chris Evans and Selena Gomez.
And I love this pairing.
Thanks to Twitter.
Twitter blew this up.
I don't really know if there's any legitimacy to this at all.
So basically Twitter blew.
this up because
Chris
started following
Selena Gomez on Instagram.
Chris does not follow a lot of accounts.
It's like, you know, somewhere
in the low hundreds.
And he started to follow Selena Gomez.
Selena Gomez does not follow him, but there is
that combination.
I feel like she doesn't follow a lot of people.
No, I just don't feel like she's on her own
Instagram like that much anyway.
And I don't think she'd follow the guy she's talking to.
Right.
No, it's fair.
I mean, there are so many couples out there
that just like straight up don't follow
each other on Instagram.
There has to be more to this rumor, right?
What?
Oh, there is.
No, no, there is.
There is.
I was getting there.
No, it's like, I'm feeling underwhelmed.
I was getting there.
The other part is at the beginning of the month,
they were seen leaving a studio and a restaurant
like around the same time.
Chris Evans is getting into the music game.
People think that maybe they're doing a movie together.
Selena Gomez is like, all right.
Yeah.
I don't know what to do with my music
anymore so I'm going to bring in Chris Evans
Chris Evans has
vocally said many times he's dying
to do a musical. He that hit
the video of him playing the piano. Purple Rain is
one of my favorite songs I love Prince
my God. He's a really good piano.
That video did things to me. I mean
a multi-talented
this guy. If you're good with
the piano, Chris Evans. It means you're good with your
fingers. Chris Evans
Renaissance man.
Chris Evans
is a Renaissance man. I'm ready to
to lock it in.
I don't know about that.
No, he's a
honorary Renaissance man.
Just because.
Yeah, so there were pictures.
They were not photographed together,
but they were,
there were photographs of Chris leaving
and Selena leaving different,
but they were at,
it looks like they were at the same places
at the same time in this one day.
So, you know,
fans combined that with the following on Instagram.
Insane.
There's really no.
You're spotted together once and you follow up.
They weren't even spotted together.
There's nothing.
Not even together.
No, that's what I'm saying.
they were photographed separately as just that we assume that they were at the same place.
Maybe they just met that night and Chris Evans was like, oh, Selina was cool.
I'm on a follow around Instagram.
That happens all the time.
He likes a new show.
Could be literally anything.
Twitter just loved the idea of this possibility so much that they blew it up in like two seconds.
It's like John May and Rihanna responded to this.
Yeah, it's just, well, that is easily debunked because Rihanna is in a relationship.
Madly enough.
With A lot.
With A lot.
Can blow up to ridiculous.
levels because as far as we know they're both single.
How mad would you be, though, if she left ASAP for John Mayer?
Really?
I would be, you wouldn't like that.
I would be absolutely disgusted.
That would be awful, same.
I'm disgusting.
I have a bad taste of my mouth.
Disgusted.
I don't know.
It'd be pretty cool, I feel.
No.
No, it will.
Rihanna is far too good for John Mayer.
Yep.
Big time.
She's too good to race at Rocky, too, but he's great.
So is John Mayer, but you get the point.
I know, I agree.
I like I stop Rocky.
I know.
And you know what?
I am so down, which is jumping head first into this, even though it has zero legs.
This Chris Evans and Sliffons and Slita Gomez is like, like, everybody was talking about it all weekend and long.
And it's like, oh, what's the evidence?
That's it.
That's all we got.
And I think Chris Evans would treat Selena Gomez right.
Oh, man.
I don't, I really, you know, I got nothing to base that off of, but what's the, how old is Chris Evans?
34.
I'm going to guess 37.
I'm guessing 37.
Chris Evans is 40.
Oh.
Just turned 40 in June.
What?
Yeah.
Look.
Is he the best-looking 40-year-old man of all time?
He's so hot.
Who else is 40 that we love?
I mean, Nick.
Kenny from the bachelor.
Nick Viol looks pretty good for his age.
Nick Viol does look great for his age.
I mean, Brad Pitt's 57.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Wait, that was, I thought like a knife just
through my heart finding out that Chris Evans was 40. Yeah. Yeah. What? Yep.
Wait, how old is Selena Gomez?
29. Oh, 29. Yeah. That's actually not, that's, I mean, that's not about at all.
Oh my God. What is going on? The internet is so wild. This headline is from Yahoo and it says
Selena Gomez and Chris Evans may secretly be dating six years after she revealed she had a crush on him.
Selina Gomez had a crush on Chris Evan six years ago? Yeah, I guess
I think in an interview in 2015, she had said that she had had a crush on Chris Evans,
like that he was her.
Just reaching.
Like, this is hilarious.
This is the timeline.
October 2021.
Chris follows Selena on Instagram.
Not long after the photos of Chris and Selena leaving the rest are posted online,
Eagle-eyed fans noticed something surprising on Instagram.
It appeared that Chris had suddenly started following her.
October
2015
Selena admits on
Watch It Happens live
saying she has a crush on Chris Evans
She said I kind of a crush on Chris Evans
Isn't he cute? He's very cute
Yeah I mean no shit
Chris Celine Gomez like
Look if Selena Gomez
Can manifest
Dating Chris Evans
After after like
Not to bring Bieber into this but
Bringing Bieber into this when Bieber basically
manifested dating Selena Gomez
when he would always talk about how he
like had such a huge crush on her
and now let's spin that
and give Selena Gomez Chris Evans
I think it's a real thing
that if you are in the same world as
somebody and I mean this by like
because obviously like you
wanted to date Nick Jonas growing up
but that was like in a far thing right
like yeah yeah that's like you know it's a
celebrity that's nice of you to say then
but
like if you're in the same
world kind of I
feel strongly that you could like
manifestating somebody yeah like if you
just like start talking about it to be here
in Hollywood absolutely that's what I'm saying
like if either one of them messaged the other one
they would respond that because they're both that big
right and there is
also a big possibility that they are like
working on something together like work wise
and movie or it's probably what's happening
I want you to know though if you did not have a boyfriend
and Nick Jonas was not married to Priyanka Chopra
I do think you guys could be together
I really do.
I fully believe that.
I also think that too.
I 100% believe that wholeheartedly.
I want you to know that.
Unfortunately, the circumstances aren't lining up right now,
but who's just going to happen to the future?
No, I know.
He's very much married.
No, he's married, but people get divorced.
Yeah.
Okay, that was not nice.
I'm sorry.
That was a joke.
Priyanka, friend of the program.
I know, that was a complete joke.
Yes, it was.
Sometimes you've got to get the jokes out.
Yeah.
I hope everyone saw my picture on my Instagram.
I posted it of my program.
I posted the jean jacket, you know, after I had Cynthia take that picture of me at the Jones Brothers concert.
She posted it.
I'm actually going to repost it right now.
Yeah.
It's really.
Everyone can go check it out.
It's on the Remember This Tour Instagram page, the Jones Beach location.
There's a, you know, whole slide show there.
I probably deserved to be the first slide, but that's okay.
I was upset about that.
It's a great picture.
I'm very, very happy about it.
Sick jacket.
The jacket looks awesome.
You know, I didn't know how the jacket would translate in black and white, but it looks fantastic, I will say.
It's a great picture.
But to finish up here, I really don't think that as of right now, there's any truth to them being together couple-wise.
But them potentially working together would be incredible.
If Chris Evans, I'm going to manifest this.
If Chris Evans and Selena Gomez
were working on a musical together,
I would die.
Like, I don't care what it was.
I know.
I just think that like,
ever since Chris Evans said he would love to do a musical,
I'm just hoping for the day
that somebody fucking cast this guy in a musical.
He just wants to do a musical.
He does.
He just wants to sing a little,
maybe play the piano
because we know he can do it so, so well.
I would love to see it.
Selina Gomez would be a perfect partner
for it. But yeah, this was credit to Twitter for this one. You really blew this one up.
On the show before, we've talked many times about how we think mental health is super important,
making sure you're feeling good, but not only physically, but mentally as well. You know,
there's a lot going on all the time in your life, I bet. So many different stressors can make
you feel so stressed out. Sometimes you're like, I don't even know who to talk to anymore.
You feel like you can't talk to your friends because you're almost talking to your friends
too much about it. That's where I find myself having a problem. I'm like, I'm telling my friends all
my problems. I don't know if they want to hear about my problems anymore. Who else can I talk to?
That's where BetterHelp comes in. BetterHelp is customized online therapy that offers video
phone and even live chat sessions with your therapist. So you don't have to see anyone in person
if you don't want to. Sometimes stepping into an office can be scary with someone that you don't know.
And obviously a lot of us live online now. So what better way to get help than BetterHelp.com online.
and it's much more affordable than in-person therapy, and you can start communicating with a therapist.
And under 48 hours, people in my life myself have used BetterHelp, and they find it to actually
help them out. It's getting someone outside of your life to talk to you that can help you with the
stress in your life. This podcast is sponsored by BetterHelp, and our listeners get 10% off their first month
at BetterHelp.com slash office. That's B-E-T-T-E-R-H-E-L-P-O-O-S-O-O-F-S-O-O-S-O-O-F.
it looks like we may have a beber baby coming next year or at least they're trying to perhaps have a beber baby
let's play the clip this is from i didn't realize just ended another documentary coming out is that
what this is the way you said that was like it's like a movie premiering next year like we might
have a beber baby coming next year i just pictured the clip like like forming right here i don't know
what just happened the way you teed that up
I was like, all right, let's watch the class.
Yeah.
But no, everyone was freaking out about it because he said, you know,
talking about just their plans, upcoming plans, upcoming goals.
And it was like, just like to maybe, I believe he said,
pop out a little nugget.
Is that what he said?
Something like that.
Do you have an attention for 2021?
My intention for 2021.
My intention for 2021, 2021 is to continue to set goals and have fun while doing them.
Make sure I put my family first.
And hopefully we squish out a nugget.
The end of 2021?
We start trying.
Okay, maybe.
We shall see.
It's a tea baby
He did call it a little nugget
Yeah
And Haley was like what
What the fuck are you talking about?
I feel like Haley's not ready to have a baby yet
I feel like Justin wants to have a baby
More than Haley wants to have a baby
She's young
I know but I think
They
I have faith that they absolutely
Discussed that when they were discussing
Getting married
Because
Justin has vocally
Always wanted to be
A young father
always he wants to be a die by 25 yeah he's talked about that many times um I think he like loves
seeing his younger siblings and the and the younger nieces and nephews like on the on haley side and
all you always see them like taking pictures with babies and it's like oh he definitely has had that
in his mind I think for a long time and I would assume you know haley would be on board for that
as well. She did sound a little hesitant
in the clip, but I think also
she was probably surprised
that he just threw it out there like
that. Like, oh, we're going to, you know, end of the year
start trying for a baby. Oh, okay.
We're going to tell the world that. Right, right.
I think that's maybe what the surprise was.
Like, you know they're fucking and she's
getting off birth control. Right, right.
That's what you start thinking. Right. It's like, oh,
like maybe we want
it to keep that private. Right, right.
But I think, you know, they seem to be
very happy and in love and
what comes next you know the song yeah you're right first comes love then comes marriage
or you know any other fill in the blank i didn't know what song you were talking about for a second
it's like not i feel like it's not even really a song it's just like a merry jingle yeah a riddle
a riddle a riddle first comes love then comes marriage and comes a baby and a baby carriage
Yep
We wrote it out for you
But they
That really
Like that didn't take me by surprise at all
Because I just feel like
When we knew
And they're married
And he keeps talking about wanting to have babies
So Kylie Jenner's gonna have two
He's gonna be a more famous baby
Kylie or Stormy or the first Beaver baby
Stormy
Because actually
Fuck I think the
Here's the thing
Both Kylie
Jenner and Travis Scott are so fucking big.
Yeah.
Justin is so big.
Haley is really big
because of Justin and her famous family.
I also think that...
I mean, I love Haley Bieber, but like Travis Scott is famous because he's Travis
Scott.
I don't know though.
I feel like something about a Bieber baby because people grew up with like Biber.
Right, right.
I think we would see way less of Justin Haley's
baby. Like Kylie just Stormy's like in ad campaigns, you know, Kylie baby like we see Stormy
all the time and on social media if I had to guess I don't think they would be as open with
like posting their baby on social media just because I think from the way fans are and reactions
and the way Justin has felt, you know, being a famous kid and how that affected him. If I had to guess
they would try and keep that baby's life really private. Like Gigi and Zane. Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
So I think Stormy just by default
Because we see Stormy all the time
Those kids are like
Are made to be stars
Also shout out Diane Keaton
You know she did a music video
With Justin it came out over the weekend
It was very sweet
Flew under the radar
Yeah it's just like I don't know if this is a new feature on Instagram
Or like something that will be able to do at some point
But like
Justin Bieber posted the video
And on the top where his handle was it said Justin Bieber and Diane Keaton.
It was like a collab post, which I've never seen on Instagram before.
So that was something new.
But how cool?
I mean, if you're Diane Keaton, you know, you're just like, you get a call of,
hey, you want to play Justin Bieber's grandmother in a music video.
Sure.
Of course.
That sounds great.
Super fun.
So that was, it was very cute.
Good choice.
I think, I don't know how they decided on Diane Keaton, but.
I approve of the choice.
Would Betty White have been better, though?
No.
Diane Kean is like classic.
Yeah, and Betty White is just age-wise, it makes more sense.
Betty White would just be funny.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
This was very much, this one made sense, I think, for sure.
Probably going to be one of the most talked about episodes of Saturday Night Live in quite some time.
Kim Kardashian West took over as hosts this week.
and there's always going to be mixed feelings, right?
There's going to be half the world that's like,
what's you good to do this?
She was awful.
I don't care about them.
And then the other half who are more, you know, sensible like us,
who said she did a really good job.
I thought she did a really good job.
And I truly thought a lot of the skits were really funny.
Like I laughed a lot more than I have and you all make fun of me for still laughing at Saturday
Live, but they were funny.
Kim Kardashian is funny.
She is funny.
She is aware and she is funny.
Her monologue, I thought, was really good.
Like, it was relevant.
She was very self-deprecating.
She was able to laugh at her siblings.
And, you know, she's out of here making OJ jokes.
She's making Kanye jokes.
She definitely didn't write most of that, but it's still funny.
No, but she's still deliberate.
Everyone's so critical of her and not, like, other actors and people who go on Saturday
live.
None of those people write their shit.
The comedians, I'm sure, write their own, but they work.
with other people too. Yeah, like who, like Owen Wilson was the host last week. I highly doubt he
wrote his entire monologue himself. Owen Wilson is not sitting down at the table going, okay,
I need to write my ass right. It's like everyone was like, oh, she was reading from Q cards. No shit she was
reading on cue card. Everybody fucking does that when they go on Saturday Live. It's crazy. It's like they
just have to nitpick it's because it's her more. Everything. But she's great. Kim Kardashian's great.
The monologue was very funny. I love the, you know, the people's court sketch I thought was
really funny. The switching places
with 80 Bryant was really funny. Chloe and Chris did a great
job jumping in there. And of course, you know, they did that
Bachelor one as well. That was great. Just an absolute
cast of characters that we like, I don't know how they put
together that group of people. Blake Griffin. John
Stephen. John Cena. Chris Rock. Chris Rock. Jesse Williams. Chase
Crawford. Tyler. So Tyler,
this is actually funny. There's two things.
here. Tyler texted me last night being like, are you going out tonight? And I was like, I already
left, whatever. And he was like, oh, okay, I'm doing Saturday Night Live, then we're going to go out
after, like, whatever. I did not put two and two together that he was going to be doing a skit
with Kim Kardashian and that would be happening. Second thing was, he told me that Jesse Williams,
he was eating with sushi, and Jesse Williams was putting ginger on his sushi. And he was like,
You put ginger on your sushi.
And then he was like, I remembered that this was a whole thing
that Frayne yelled at you about.
And he was like, but just so you know,
Jesse Williams puts ginger on his sushi.
And I didn't yell at you.
Not yell, no, no, no, yell as a bad term.
Like I wasn't like, that's the wrong way to do that.
But it was like, you're the wrong way.
Yeah, I was like, I've just never seen anyone do it that way.
Yeah.
But that is very funny.
And apparently he orders double ginger so that he could do that.
Amazing.
Amazing.
I mean, I didn't realize either.
And you had left Saturday and went home.
And so when we were going out, I texted him too, being like,
oh, we're going here.
like if you want to meet us and I didn't hear from him for like for until you know late and I was like
at first I was like damn you didn't answer that's mean and then and then I was like oh he was on
Saturday Night Live I texted him as he was like getting ready to go on to Saturday Night Live
it's just insane like what world are we living in he did good job yeah I mean like as far as
being like doing that with Kim Kardashian he's going to have that clip forever Kim
also was very funny, like, during, you know, that whole, that whole thing.
Blake Griffin, an ex of Kendall Jenner's just...
Love it.
Throwing it in there.
I would love Blake Griffin.
He is a handsome man.
And he's funny.
Like, Blake Griffin is just funny and hot.
That's what I'm saying, like, who at SNL put together this group of people?
They're just like, what celebrities are in New York?
Yeah, I think it was probably like, let's reach around, see who's in New York.
Right, I guess.
Like, Chase Crawford, I just.
Unbelievable.
Chris Rock seems like the most random one.
Yeah,
that was definitely the most random out of the whole bunch.
It was,
but it was,
like they obviously wanted it to be as random as possible,
and they certainly succeeded in doing that.
But it was really good.
I got to say it.
She did,
she did kiss Pete Davidson.
It's unbelievable.
Pete Davidson just.
He kissed two different people at SNA.
He kissed what's her face?
Who's on the SNO cast?
Oh, yeah, they did the Megadigian.
He did Davidson getting to kiss Kim Kardashian.
This man can't be.
stopped and it only makes him hotter and hotter.
Just when you think things might be
slowing down for him, they can't. He gets
to kiss him. I just kiss her. I just wish I can get
in contact with Pete Davidson, but he would never give
me a shot because I work here and I think he hates
Barcelona. He's got to be
over that at this point. He made a joke about it. He made a joke
about it but me. I don't know. Come on. He's got to be over it at this
point. One butthole eyes joke and he can't.
It was Ariana who cared. Yeah, true. True.
I don't know guys. Once again, we're speaking
about things that probably will never happen.
I just love Pete Davidson.
It was incredible, like, good for him, but they,
I really thought that she did a great job.
And I really would just also like to know the behind the scenes of the Kim Kardashian-Hawzzi combination.
Because, you know, Halsey and Taylor Swift, very good friends.
Very good friends.
But that doesn't mean that she can't be friends with Kim Kardashian.
You think?
Was Kanye at the...
Sometimes I think Taylor might be kind of that petty friendship-wise.
It depends if it's your best friend, then no.
But if she's just like friendly with Halsey,
then like you got to let Halsey be friends with the Kardashians.
Fair.
And I do think that Kim in that environment is very easy to get along with.
Like, you know, Amy Schumer, Amy Schumer was a part of that sketch too.
And she had always kind of like ragged on the Kardashians a lot in her stand-up.
and just talking about them and you know it wasn't that long ago that she kind of not like full
wasn't like a full bone apology but it was like oh you know I probably shouldn't have said a lot of
that stuff about them they're you know smart women and yada yada and you could see like them
chatting at the end and hugging and I just couldn't believe it as I was watching that ending and
it's like Kim thanking everyone Kanye my mom and Chloe for being here like to thank Tyler Cameron's
crazy it's absolutely
insane.
Meanwhile, in all the list of all those people in the sketch.
Meanwhile, in our live show, we're on FaceTime with Tyler in front of the crowd.
It's like, this is not real life that we're living.
Not a real life.
We're officially one degree of separation away from Kim Kardashian at this point now.
That's good to know.
We can actually say that about a lot of people thanks to Tyler.
Just by that one connection.
Just by that one connection.
But she, I really thought that she crushed it and I know a lot of people are saying that.
but when you can get,
I really think she is funny.
And so when she can laugh at herself
and make these jokes and,
you know,
I couldn't believe she made that.
Kanye divorced jokes.
She was like,
so, you know,
must have been his personality.
The OJ won, too.
Oh, I know.
Multiple OJ,
but she knew she would win people over with that.
Yeah, no.
It had to happen.
No, for her going the self-deprecating route
is certainly the way to go.
The, you know,
joking about her appearance
than saying, you know, that's the picture that my sisters took to their plastic surgeon.
I was like, fuck yeah, Kim.
That's unbelievable.
It was great.
She was really, really good.
We have a great interview with Greg Sulkin coming up.
I know I said that a little exaggerated because.
Jazzy.
Jazzy.
And he seems like such a cool guy.
I would say someone that I would like to have a beer with.
Greg, if you're listening and you want to go grab a couple of Coors Light with,
uh, Ria and me, we would love.
We would love that.
You guys know, we absolutely love our Coors Light.
We're reaching for it when we need a moment to relax and chill because right now we're moving at a fast pace.
You know, we got the tour.
We're recording.
So we're traveling a lot.
There's a lot going on.
We got great guests.
So I would say, for example, on a Sunday, nice Sunday, I get to sit down, turn on some football, sit back on my couch and really
just take some time for me and I can do that with a nice ice cold Coors Light next to me.
Coors Light's the only beer that is literally made to chill.
The mountains on the bottles and cans turn blue when your beer is cold.
You see that blue color and you know it is ready to crack open that beer.
So when you need to hit reset, just open a Coors Light.
It's a mountain cold refreshment, cold laundry, cold filtered, cold packaged.
Like I said, made to chill as crisp and refreshing as the Colorado Rockies.
Perfect for a moment to unwind.
So like I said, for me, especially during this month when we are so busy,
is getting that Sunday on the couch with a nice ice cold Coors Light.
So that's why Coors Light's the one we choose when we need to unwind.
So when you want to hit reset, reach for the beer that's made to chill.
Get Coors Light and the new look delivered straight to your door with drizzly or Instacart,
but going to coreslight.com slash chicks.
And always remember to celebrate responsibly this coming from the Coors Brewing Company in Golden Colorado.
Cheers.
Thank you guys.
Thank you guys so much.
The world's most refreshing podcast.
Yes.
All right, everyone.
We are here with a very special guest.
We have Greg Salkin joining us.
He has a new show on Netflix called Pretty Smart, and we are very excited about it.
Welcome to the show, Greg.
Thank you so much for having me.
I was just telling you guys off camera, off radio, that I love the show.
I think it's great.
You guys have done a great job, so well done.
Thank you so much.
And we said to you, you know, we have wanted you on this show.
show for a long time. We have been fans. We honestly have watched like everything you've done. So we're
very happy to have you here. And we are super excited about this new Netflix show. You know, not to
not to brag to those listening, but we have gotten to watch a little bit of it. And it is great. It's
really funny. We love the group dynamic. So tell us about the show. It's called Pretty Smart.
Yeah, so basically it is about a girl for Chelsea who moves, a very intellectual girl, moves from New York,
and moves in with her less intelligent sister and her less intelligent roommates.
Along the way, she may gravitate towards my character, who also happens to be her sister's ex-boyfriend.
So lots to look forward to.
It's such a fun show.
It's so lighthearted.
It's so charming.
and it's honestly the most fun I've ever had on a project
and thankfully I've been in this industry now since I was 12
so it's a blast.
It does seem like it would be a really fun show to work on the entire cast.
You know, we love a good sitcom, especially like a show like this.
And I think as...
It doesn't get done as much now too.
No, but I think Netflix does a good job with it.
And I think as an actor, right, it must feel great to be a part of Netflix.
There's so many great shows that come out of it.
How did you feel when you heard that this show was going to be a part of that?
Huge.
I will say I'm a big believer in manifestation.
And two years ago, I wrote a vision board and the Netflix logo was on it and a bunch of
multicams around that logo.
And so this is basically my dream job and I'm so happy to be doing it.
It's so fun.
It shoots in L.A.
I love the cast.
they're not just castmates, they're my actual friends now.
And I think that group dynamic and the group love for one another is something that you see
and it translates on screen, which makes it such a like uplifting show.
And you live in L.A., right?
Yeah, I live in L.A. I moved here when I was 17.
grew up in London, still have the accent.
And, you know, just loving life.
I love California.
I love this country first and foremost.
I feel very blessed and lucky to even, I'm a citizen now, and I know how hard that is.
So I feel very lucky to be a citizen of the United States.
So you mentioned two things I want to ask you about.
One is the accent, and I feel like this is such a stupid question.
But do you ever have any trouble, like when you're in a scene where maybe the actual accent
comes out and you're like, oh, shit, I'm supposed to be American?
I have more of a hard time talking to people in America because they don't understand
what I'm talking about half the time.
They're always telling me to slow down.
But on the show, thankfully, because I've been here for over a decade now,
I haveitated a lot of American people, friends, have practiced it in restaurants.
And so I've sort of gotten over that.
But of course, it's a skill.
It's a you've got to practice.
I go to a dialect coach when I'm not on set.
So it's always something I'm aware of.
But thankfully at this point, I've played a few American characters.
to where we're all good.
Which is great because I do think that
there is a real
art to it because I do think you do a
really great job with it. I bet you there's a lot of people
who watch your stuff who don't know that you actually
have an accent because I think of like
these big name actors, you know, Christian Bale,
people like that who like when people hear him speak in an award show,
it's jaw dropping.
When I found out Christian Bale had an accent,
my mind was blown. My whole world flipped upside down.
I was like Christian Bale has an accent.
It was crazy.
And a very thick accent.
Very thick.
When you sing, do you have the accent?
Because right, when like Harry Style sings, there's no accent.
I think the difference between Harry Styles to me is Harry Styles can actually sing.
So I don't know.
I try not to, you know, I save everyone's ears.
We were just at a Harry Style show last night in New York.
So it's clearly on her brain.
How was it?
Is it good?
Unbelievable.
Well, don't get me started.
This is about you, Greg.
We don't have enough time.
But yeah, he's fantastic.
No, no, no, I get it.
He's fantastic.
Very, very, very talented man.
So I respect it.
Super fantastic.
The other thing you said was, you know, being a citizen,
we recently did like a little experiment in our office where we, they went around and asked us
the questions that you have to take to take the test, to become a citizen.
And I would say 75% of this office did not know any of the answers.
they're way harder than I thought.
How was that process for you?
It was definitely a process that I took seriously
because I realized how fortunate I am
to be able to come from a different country
and then be a citizen of the United States.
I think for me it was really hard
because it was actually,
I took my test in the last administration
and jobs were sort of changing every week.
And so when they were asking me,
oh, who's the press secretary?
I was like, well, today or yesterday?
So, you know, it was tough to really get the names right.
But thankfully, I did it.
Thankfully, they just, you know, they give you some of the questions
and the ones that I felt confident about.
Thankfully, landed in my lap.
Oh, good.
Did you have to study for that?
Yeah, I had to study.
They give you a booklet and, you know, has a nice American flag over, you know, on the front.
Get you a very patriotic.
You feel very patriotic, you know.
And, you know, when you're sitting there and you're becoming a citizen, it's a really special experience.
And you realize in that moment how, how, what an amazing thing it is and how fortunate you are,
because there's people who have tried to come into the country and bring their families for years from all different parts of the world.
So when you're sitting there, you know, you really think to yourself, oh, great.
And also, on the legal side, you're then treated as an American.
So for so long, I was always worried about driving fast.
Right, right, right.
You know, I didn't want my green card to be taken away from me.
Right.
Now you're driving under the limit for 10 years.
Now you're ready to break some rules.
Yeah.
You know.
Or some laws.
Who knows?
So you're in L.A.
And you just said, you know, this show filmed in L.A.
How was that for you?
Like, was it just a 10 minute commute to work?
It was, it was surreal because it was 10 minutes away.
And not just 10 minutes away.
Multicam, the hours are so.
nice. You know, my last show,
it was a Marvel show. We were doing like 14 hours
a day. I would arrive in the dark,
come home in the dark.
And on
this show, you know, sometimes
we'd go in at 9 o'clock in the morning, sometimes even
10 o'clock in the morning, which is like a dream
for an actor. Normally you're up at 4 or 5.
And then sometimes I'd be out at 3 o'clock
or 4 o'clock.
So it literally felt like I was
kind of in school again.
Wait, sorry, Sarah,
I think you're...
I'm so sorry.
That's okay.
All good.
And so I think, you know, the best part about it was when I was,
I would leave at 3 o'clock or 4 o'clock in the afternoon.
The sunshine would be out.
It was 10 minutes away from my home.
And on the way home, I would see the Hollywood sign.
And it was definitely one of those moments every day
where I'd just like slightly pinch myself because that, again,
was something that I visualized many, many, many years ago before I was actually, you know,
a working actor.
And yeah, just really cool.
I love being here.
Just, yeah, I just, I love it.
And now I even like kale salad.
Oh, no.
It's happening.
Are you drinking juices?
Pardon?
Are you drinking juices as well?
I don't do too many juices.
But, you know, the LA healthy lifestyle has definitely, it's caught me.
Well, I mean, you're playing a personal trainer on
the show and you're shirtless in the first 10 seconds of the first episode. So you got to throw in some
kale salads. You got to stay fit. You got to throw in the kale salad every once in a while.
100%. Do you think that you'll ever go back to London? Is that something you want to do later in
life? Or is California the place for you? I go to London because my family there. I have an older
brother who's married, has two beautiful kids. So I'm an uncle of two. So I love to see them. That's really nice.
but London itself, I love this country because I believe that the mentality here, especially in Los Angeles, is that if you have big dreams, people look at you and they're like, yeah, absolutely, like completely, yeah, go for it.
Whereas in London, the mentality, and it's sort of our sense of humor, but they're probably like chuckle or laugh.
And so I'm sort of a half-glass wall person, whereas in London, not that people in every, not the, not the,
this is complete generalization.
But in London, I just felt feel like because of our sense of humor,
we sort of self-deprecate a lot, which is awesome.
But at the same time, like I like to think big and dream big and see what I happen.
That is a little bit more like New York thinking where you're, I mean, we're in New York.
We live in New York.
So it's more of, you know, you walk around and everyone's like, I really don't care what you want to do.
Yeah.
They're like, all right, shut up.
I like that you brought up the humor, though, because I do love an approach.
appreciate like British humor.
Is this something that when you got to California and you got to the States, you were like,
all right, I maybe need to, you know, pull back on my humor because of the way people react?
Absolutely.
I will say I've definitely kept it.
But when I first arrived, I was extremely sarcastic because I'm from London and I just wanted
to be a smart ass.
And then some people can think you're rude.
And it's like, no, no, no, actually, I'm sarcastic.
around people that I'm comfortable with.
Yeah, if I make fun of you, it's not actually making fun of you.
But I think when I was younger, that means people around me were younger too and they hadn't
figured that out yet.
But yeah, I try not to take things too seriously.
And now I just pick and choose my groups of who I'm going to be a little, a little saucy to,
you know?
Yeah, that makes sense.
We've run into the same thing.
Like she said, being from New York, when we go to L.A., we're like, oh, okay, we need to
like maybe, you know, feel out who we can make rude comments to and have them know that we're
joking.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
For sure.
Yeah, no, New York.
By the way, New York, I love New York.
What a great city.
It is, it is amazing.
We absolutely love it here.
This is the best time of year here, in my personal opinion, is the fall.
But L.A., beautiful.
You love it.
Now you're working.
You're in L.A.
And you get to reunite with Emily Osmond on this show.
You have guest starred on Young and Hungry, which we also.
absolutely loved and
I'm assuming you guys knew
each other in your
Disney days. So how
like how long do you think you've actually known
Emily Asman?
I was actually talking to Emma about this earlier.
I think I've known
I first met Emily
I must have been like 50
I must have met Emily
like 15 years ago. Right.
We really or knew of Emily
15 years ago. Then we did a movie together
I think when we in 2012 or
2013. That's what she said. I don't know. It was a long time again. And we just connected. And so over the
years, we've stayed friends. We live really close to one another. And I've always respected Emily.
I think she's a really hardworking girl. She's a complete pro. She knows exactly what she's doing.
She's done many, many, many successful episodes of television. And so to have her as a friend,
but also as a partner,
going into something on a platform such as Netflix,
where there's 220 million subscribers,
it could be daunting if you don't have full confidence going into something.
And so thankfully,
having her by my side throughout this whole experience
has been really comforting,
but also I have a lot of confidence.
I think she's great at what she does.
She brings a lot of heart, but she also,
Emily has this skill of every take is different,
but the same too.
So it's like she plays within this box,
but every single time it's slightly different.
So your performance naturally is slightly different.
I've worked with very few people who can do that.
And she's so good at keeping it fresh.
And she's just a great inspiration for young women, for young women.
So, yeah, I couldn't speak more highly of Emily.
I think she's amazing and fantastic in the show.
Yeah, we love Emily.
And we love all the projects that she's been a part of.
talking to her after this. So we're excited about that. Yeah. So for when you signed on to do this,
did you know Emily was already doing it? Or were or was it just kind of like like when this came
across your desk? What did you think? So I found out about it. My team called me and they said
we think Emily is signing on to it. And so it's sort of like a hush, hush situation. And I
I said, well, I'm friends with them.
And I like, I don't just call her and find out that like, no, don't call her.
Because like her deal wasn't closed.
It would have been so much easier.
I just would have loved to pick up the phone.
But, you know, there's industry red tape.
And so I knew that she, I knew that there was discussions, but I didn't know if it was
official.
And I think I don't know, they could have just told me this to make me feel better.
But I believe our deal is closed at the same time.
So we both joined the show together.
That's awesome. It's great and you guys have such a good dynamic together on the show. I think
people are really going to love it. Now, like I said, we've pretty much watched everything that
you have done. When you're walking down the street and you're in L.A., what do you think you
are recognized for the most? I really don't. At this point, I don't know. I know the project that
no one saw because I did them and no one saw them up.
So, you know, that was obviously a fail.
But, you know, I think each show, thankfully, I've done has different sort of fan bases.
Obviously, the Disney Channel, when I jumped on to Wizard of Waverly plays, you know,
Selena Gomez is an incredible actress and a huge, obviously, pop star actress.
And so the platform of the Disney Channel plus of being on a very popular show,
with if, you know, it was probably her and my leave with the two most famous young women at the time.
So that show blew up.
So a lot of people recognize me from Wizards.
Obviously, pretty little liars was a huge show.
And I, you know, did a few episodes there.
MTV when I did a show called Faking It on MTV.
And people come up to me and love that show.
They're like still right to me.
They're still angry at the fact that it got canceled after three seasons.
I'm like, yo, we did three seasons.
I can't do 100.
But, you know, it was a really important show.
And obviously then I just recently did Marvel's runaways.
And so there's a huge Marvel fan base too.
So sometimes I'm getting stopped by like a 65-year-old dude in FedEx, like pounding me.
So, you know, it's changed a lot.
It's changed a lot, yeah, over the years.
But I think with this show in particular, you know, my brother's 34, married two kids, loves the show.
Like loves the show.
I did not expect him to love the show.
But I think this show appeals to a lot of people
because it's such a lighthearted watch
and because you can put it on,
you care about these characters,
they lead with kindness.
And I think a lot of people are going to sort of be like,
oh, I like this character.
Oh, this is actually really funny.
This is actually pretty smart comedy.
So there you go.
Yeah.
Love how you got the name in there.
That's my comedy.
And it's a comedy.
always good when you have these types of shows where if you get through all of it very quickly,
you immediately want a season two. And I think a lot of fans are going to feel that way when they
watch this, which is great because that's always like, you always want the fans to push
immediately because you get all these shows on, you know, Netflix or Hulu, whatever it is. And
they just, poof, they end. And you're like, and then you're so upset about it. So upset.
we're not saying that's going to happen. No, no, no. I just, no, I'm saying that it's so good that
I know that the way it ends, because I'm not trying to give anything away. The way, like,
people are going to immediately want a second season. Yeah, I agree. Yeah, I think people are going to
love this. Now, besides the acting, you were doing a lot of YouTube videos for a little bit.
What happened there? Do you think you're going to jump back into that?
I don't know. I think YouTube's an amazing platform.
I think one of the main reasons where I wanted to do that was I did it with my best friend,
and I think it's really nice to be able to do something and look sort of like a diary.
I could look back on our friendship and just see the friendship throughout the years.
I will say it takes a lot of time, and when I'm shooting, it's really tough to balance both.
I would say my main passion is acting.
I also love producing.
That's one of the main reasons why I wanted to sort of.
sort of produce YouTube videos.
Yeah, because it's hard.
You know, you're in control of the edit.
And also, to be honest, I know this is like, it depends.
I don't want to.
Let me, let me think about.
But, you know, the media, for example, if you get lovely people like you both,
then it's all good.
Right.
But what can happen is if you own a YouTube channel, you can sort of control the
get it, you can control the narrative. And I just, for a while, for a while, I got a little concerned
to handing over my words to somebody else who is then going to manipulate my words into a storyline
that they wanted to use. And so I wanted to sort of take back some of the, some of the control
of my own voice, which is why I did it. And then also, I just think it's fun. I think it's a great
platform and and yeah i don't know if i'll get back into it though because we'll see what happens with
the show and i also have my own clothing line too so it's i don't know it's youtube youtube does take up a lot
of time i mean our producers in this room and they're always working on our youtube videos and it takes
a lot of time out of their day but it is a fun way for people to get to know you better because
you know a lot of actors and actresses you don't really get to know their personalities that much but
when you watch your youtube videos you really see it and like that's why it's so good
great, but busy guy. Yeah, I mean, look, I think, I think it raises a really important point, right,
which is like you want to get to know people, right, because the term influence has come up over
the last 10 years. You want to, you want to know your followers at the same time, like, how much do you
really know about Leonardo DiCaprio or George Clooney or Brad Pitt? You don't know too much. And there's a
reason why this career has been successful. And part of it is because you don't know too much about
them. And so there is a fine line especially now where content is encouraged.
Engaging with your audience is encouraged. But at the same time, for me personally, I'm also
quite a private person. And so I don't want everything out there on the internet.
You got to protect yourself a little bit. It's super fair. And we were joking before, you know,
currently Instagram has been, has been down for the day. And it's something that, you know,
everyone freaks out about. But it is, it is true. There is a pressure to keep those profiles active.
and to post and, you know,
you've been in a relationship for a long time.
We see your girlfriend on your Instagram.
Do you, like you said, you like to keep some things private,
which we absolutely respect.
Where do you guys, like, try and draw the line?
No, no arguments.
Fair enough, right?
We only get to see the good stuff.
You know what?
You know what?
We never argue.
Couples should start throwing their arguments out there.
Make it a little more real.
Start an argument page?
Yes.
She'd be like, you know, I wanted this place for dinner and she wanted this place for dinner and it turned into a whole thing.
And yeah.
That happens every night.
Exactly.
Exactly.
Yeah.
That would just flood the timeline, you know.
Exactly.
Well, you and you guys have from what we see, obviously like we just said, see the good stuff, a great relationship.
Do you have any necessarily like tips for those who try and keep a long term relationship going?
Because it's hard, especially for those who are both very well known in the, and the, you know,
the outside world, but you know, Michelle is or Instagram and everything. So I got to imagine that.
Yeah. I mean, look, it's, it's, I'm, I'm no expert. I'm trying to figure it out too. We're
trying to figure it out. I think that what helps us is the fact that we communicate a lot.
I have a lot of respect and admiration for what she does. I think she's one of the most kind
hearted humans I've ever met in my life.
And so, you know, you're throughout a relationship, you're, it's, the bond is, the bond becomes so
strong.
So I think it's all based on, you know, what works for that specific relationship, those
specific people.
I think being in your 20s, especially, is, is hard because you're always growing and you have
society pressures, you hit a certain age.
and I'm sure as a woman too, there's like certain pressures that people who were born before you have suddenly created.
And it's like having those internal discussions of like, okay, yeah, I'm ex age and this is where I'm supposed to be.
But why I'm not here.
So what do I do?
So it's like being honest with yourself, honest with your partner, open and just trying to sort of have each other's backs while you also individually grow too.
it's been sort of my approach with it.
I don't know if that's good or bad.
Well, I know.
It's been working.
Yeah, and I agree with what you said about the, like,
oh, you have to be this age and then you're,
oh, you have to get married at this age and have a kid at this age.
And I think, like, our generation is doing a good job at being different from that
and just doing kind of what they want to do and feeling it out.
For sure, for sure.
I think to each their own, you know, none of this society nonsense, you know.
Yeah, definitely.
Well, we are so happy that you came and joined the show,
and we're so excited for everyone to watch pretty smart.
It will be out.
Netflix worldwide, I assume, is just how Netflix works.
You can watch it wherever the heck you are on Friday, October 8th.
And what would you say you're most excited for people to watch this show?
Is there anything you're really looking forward to?
I think I'm most excited for we as a cast fell in love with each.
other like we're genuine friends and so if this show is a success and people like our friendship
that genuinely feels like we are just extending our friends like how cool to be able to have a show
with people you love that other people like and they love our dynamic it's like oh great you're gonna
you want us to go again and yeah put our friendship again on camera like amazing that really reminds me
about her banks i was just thinking the same thing like outer banks you know Netflix massive hit
the whole thing. And I feel like so many people love that show because we see them being such
good friends in real life. And you're like, oh my God, they all get along so well. So that's a great
formula. I do think that works, especially for Netflix. So I think it'll work for pretty smart. And it makes
you guys even closer. Yeah. For sure. For sure. So anyway, thank you so much for having me on the show.
Yeah, Greg, thank you so much for joining us. This was so great. Keep crushing it. Thank you. Thank you.
All right, guys. See you later. Bye-bye. Bye. All right, that wraps up today's episode of Chick's
the office. We will be back on
Wednesday. We love you guys and we hope
you have a great week. Bachelor Bios. Bachelor Bios on Wednesday.
Bachelor Bios. I think, folks. Bachelor Bios. Where are we going? But yes, I did
check. They are out and we will go through that Wednesday.
