Hey, Chicks in the Office listeners.
You can find every episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or YouTube.
Prime members can listen ad free on Amazon Music.
This is...
What's up, everyone?
It's Chicks in the Office with Ria and Fran, giving you that Friday energy on a Monday.
Yes, we know this is delayed.
Whether you were planning on listening right in the morning, then this is delayed for you.
But if you wait to listen, then this is not delayed.
So just don't mind.
don't mind what I'm saying whatsoever.
We're very sorry.
Look, look, the Grammys ended at like 1145.
It was really late.
We, it was a long, Sunday was a really long day.
We just kind of wanted to digest everything that happened and then talk about it this
morning instead of Sunday night when we were half asleep.
Right.
Yeah, I feel like it was right to wait because now we have like a more clear
head and able to talk about things. So yesterday, Sunday, obviously, the entire world was left
with the impact of the tragedy of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, and of course, the other
passengers that were on board. It was another coach and his daughter and his wife. And obviously,
in this moment, it's best to think about Vanessa and their family and their friends, keeping
them in your prayers, in your mind.
It's just so incredibly sad.
There's not really like words to put this type of tragedy.
You know what I mean?
You can't describe something like this.
It's overwhelmingly and fathomably sad.
Yeah.
It's just one of those things that you realize the impact that a player like Kobe had
and how everybody across the whole world was devastating.
stated by this. It wasn't just like
he
mattered so much to people.
We saw so many people outside
the Staples Center
yesterday, just wanting to be
together, wanting to honor him.
Nine people were on this
helicopter. So you just
lost three young
girls, parents,
coach. Like it's just
the pilot. The whole thing is
just, like you said,
so incredibly
sad because Kobe
it was 41. It kind of
feels like he just seemed like
one of those guys that was
untouchable. Right. You think
about people who are just larger than
life like that, like an absolute
legend icon. You don't even have to be a
sports fan to appreciate somebody like
Kobe Bryant. You know, like I'm not a huge
basketball fan, but I know
his impact on the entire
world. And you think
that nothing's ever going to happen
to these people, but forever
one. The truth is it's inevitable and we're all going to have to face it someday. And it's just never
know when it's your time. Right. And it's just incredibly sad because Gianna, she was 13. She was just like
her dad from what we're seeing from videos. The way that Kobe talked about her. Yeah. And how she
wanted to play in the WNBA. And there was a clip that I saw that really, really hit me. And I saw you
retweeted it as well. He was talking about how people would go up to him and Vanessa and say, you know,
need to have a boy, you need to have a boy to live up to your name.
And Gianna would be like, oh, no, it's me.
I got this.
And he was like, you got this.
And I feel like that video just really, really hit hard because it's just way too soon for the both of them.
I'm going to get emotional against because it was so, it's just, I don't know, it's crazy.
But you see, I want to read, I think like Charlotte Wilder.
who works for Sports Illustrated had a great tweet yesterday that I felt like touched on on this
a little bit and just how a lot of people were feeling she said terrible things happen every day
but when someone like Kobe who seems who seems so untouchable so omnipresent and larger than
life is taken away it really drives home how absolutely nothing is guaranteed and our time here
is pretty precious yes I saw that as well and I think that
that is a huge takeaway from this.
And it's something I think that everybody should wake up in the morning
and not just when a tragedy like this happens
because, of course, right now everyone is so focused on this.
But it is true that every day you should wake up and say,
you know, I only have one life.
It's not too much to, you think, you know,
your parents call you too much and your parents annoy you and whatnot.
You don't want to talk to them.
But if you think about it, like you do want to talk to them.
you love them, tell them you love them a million times a day, it's never going to get old.
Yeah, you're right.
And it's Kobe lived so many lifetimes.
I feel like in those 41 years, like he's had such a crazy life and has had so many accomplishments.
But which, you know, which makes it so sad that, you know, these young girls had had their lives cut so short and they wanted to accomplish so much.
And I mean, Kobe, his basketball career was done.
He was doing so many other things.
He had the Mama Academy.
He loved being with his daughters.
He loved coaching Gigi and helping out with these teams and these young kids.
And I mean, the guy just won an Oscar.
Like, he had so many other things that he wanted to do.
And it's just, it's just so sad.
I mean, I started bawling when I also saw, like, he, you know, he's a Philly guy.
He, he, Laura Marion, like, he, um, he.
represents Philadelphia so well
and he loves the Eagles and then you know
everybody was retweeting
that video of him
holding his daughter watching the Eagles win the
Super Bowl like just kind of losing his shit
and once again like there I am crying again
it was just
such a sad day
like I was just driving home from Vermont
like with my friends and you had texted
and I saw the tweet and was just like
how the fuck did this happen
right you see it and it's one of those times
that unfortunately TMZ is right most of the time but you were thinking to yourself you're hoping this
is a you know, Coley wrote it in his blog, you're hoping this is a low way in situation.
Everyone's hoping it's not real. But just to see the way, because obviously we don't personally
know him, but to see the people that do personally know him, write about him and write how much
of an incredible father he was and just everything besides basketball. Like he just seemed like
an amazing, amazing person. And the amount of respect that.
have for Giana, you know, all of these basketball players writing about how they were excited
to see her play.
It's just so sad.
Oh, I mean, and then they just, they could, they played all those NBA games last night
and seeing all these players just so affected by it was, was just so sad.
The announcers, nobody you, is one of those things where it feels like the world should
stop.
Right.
But everybody has to keep going.
Those games, you know, people have to keep doing their jobs.
it's really, really terrible.
I think, like you mentioned, Collie's blog, we retweeted that if you want to read that.
I thought it was really great.
Coley wrote it yesterday right after hearing about this.
Part of my take always does a good job with these kinds of things.
And I loved the corp interview with Kobe, was.
one of my favorites that they did. So maybe go listen to that today. Yeah, the new, um,
the new part of my take as clips from the time big cat interviewed Kobe. So you should listen to that.
And also I want to say, Jordan Barry tweeted something yesterday that I retweeted and she wrote,
sorry, I have to scroll for it. Um, sorry. She wrote one more thing. It's okay to mourn people you don't
know. It's okay to be sad. It's human. Um, so I thought that this resonated really well because,
you know, obviously we don't personally know Kobe, but he affected everybody's lives. And if you feel
like, you know, you're crying about this and you feel really sad by it, that's okay to feel sad by it.
You don't have to be like, oh, I don't know this person. Why do I feel this way? Yeah. Like it is human.
And I think it's, you know, it's not good to feel this way, but it is good to realize that you have
those emotions and get in touch with them and just hold this with you every day so that when you wake up,
you remember this.
And like everyone's saying, just spread love.
Tell your friends you love them.
Tell your family you love them.
And just don't get annoyed when people, like I do it sometimes when my parents are like,
I think they're calling me too much or text me too much.
Like just be happy that they're there to text or call you.
Yeah.
And just talk to them as much as you can.
Definitely.
And I think, you know, Kobe is obviously the,
who everybody is talking about, he has that celebrity and he has that name, but they're, like you said,
other people on this helicopter, keep them in your thoughts, pray for that, pray for those families.
This, you know, this out-to-belly family, he was the coach of the Orange County College baseball team.
He was huge in the baseball community in that area.
he and his wife and their daughter were on this helicopter and they have two other children,
which is just like, so sad.
That almost, you think about it, it almost hit me harder than anything else because
now you have two kids who just lost their parents.
And a sister, and it's just.
And their young sister, there was a coach of their basketball team on as well, along with
another player and her mother.
the pilot. I know you can
authorities release all the names this morning
so it's
all out there now and I'm
sure we're going to be talking
about this for a long time.
It's crazy that Kobe wasn't even out of the league
long enough to be inducted to
the Hall of Fame.
I can't even imagine how emotional that
is going to be all-star weekends coming up soon
I'm sure
the Kobe Tribes will be pouring in
but it was a really
weird, hard, sad day.
Yes, it definitely was.
You could just tell because, you know, the Grammys.
Yeah.
Grammys were Sunday night.
It was almost like cancel the Grammys at that point.
It felt like watching the red carpet and, I mean, first of all, credit to all these people
who work that red carpet, right?
Like, that is so hard because you're getting, one, you're getting shit on publicly
by even being there or talking about it.
people are like how the hell could they be talking about this right now is their job it's what they're
paid to do like if the show's still happening they still have to do it yeah they can't be like yeah
like what are they supposed to do out and and leave yeah if if they don't cancel the show i know
got to do this job exactly i i it was really hard to watch a lot of props yeah um that did have
to work the grommies because you know you think that they weren't affected by it but everyone was
and they just had to do their job.
Exactly.
Like we, we love some of these ladies between, you know, Aaron and Tanya and Kelty,
all these women having to cover this red carpet and speak on Kobe,
but also try and like keep it fun.
It's the Grammys.
It's music's biggest night.
It's supposed to be a party.
It's supposed to be a celebration.
It's such a weird balance.
I don't know.
I don't know how they did it.
It would have been professionals.
Yeah.
They're just amazing at their job.
really, really professionals is the right way to put it.
Right. And Alicia Keys, who, like she said, got everyone through it all.
Exactly. It's really hard to even transition to talk about anything else. Like you said,
after this happened, I put on the red carpet and was like, I don't really like care.
Right. You know, it's just. You don't really care about anything else. Yeah. It's just,
it was one of those times where it really didn't feel like anything mattered, anything else mattered,
which is why I think Alicia Keys did do such a good job.
But, you know, we're still here to have fun and laugh and joke with you guys.
And we love you guys.
Yes.
Like I said, you can never say it enough.
Yeah.
I tell people I love them 500 times a day.
And I don't care if it annoys them, if you think I say it too much.
Yeah.
I love you guys.
Giving all of you guys one giant hug right now.
I was skiing this weekend.
Yeah.
Fran's going to move into something to lift up.
There's no way.
I hope maybe this can give everyone a laugh at least before we talk about the
Grammys because I know that even the Grammys had a pretty sad tone to it.
But I went skiing, not skiing, you know, because I had said I wasn't skiing.
Also very funny.
I forgot to tell you this.
So I'll tell you this right now.
Lauren, one of my friends, hasn't skied in, you know, forever.
And she was like, you know, you.
She was going to buy a two-day pass because, you know, her friends were pressuring her and being like, you should get the two days, let's ski.
And then she listened to us talk about you ski and was like, hop.
Hell no, I'm buying one day.
Good.
I was going to say, tell me that she did not buy the two-day pass.
She was very happy about it because Friday, it was beautiful and, like, sunny and it wasn't that cold.
And then Saturday was kind of pretty gross.
Like, I know it was pouring in the city.
and it was just like bad visibility.
It was really foggy.
They closed the lifts at like two because it was just you couldn't see anything.
There was no visibility.
So she was very happy.
We did that.
But we drove up Thursday night and this is the story of our poop house.
We have kindly named this house poop house.
So you won't be returning.
All weekend we were singing poop house in the middle of poop street.
See like, I hate the word poop, so I would have been, I would have been freaking out.
Oh, I mean, it would poop all over the place.
Oh, poop, poop, stop, stop.
That's like the word, you know the word I hate.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Thursday, we all drove up because everybody skied Friday.
And we get there.
We're all excited to be there.
We're hanging out.
We're drinking a little bit.
And in the basement was like all the, there was a bunch of bunk beds.
Like most of people were down there.
We separated by like the other bedrooms couples got and then everybody else was in these big, big barracks basically.
And there were two separate rooms.
So like there was like six guys and six girls with one bathroom in the basement.
And around like 1 a.m.
Everyone was starting to go to bed.
And they go downstairs and we were just like, oh shit.
It reeked literally oh shit.
Oh, I'm like.
The whole bathroom was flooded.
The floor was covered in water.
The tub, like water was splashing out of the drain.
I'm honestly going to puke right now.
We turned the water off from the...
I'll show you this picture.
Like, it was so bad.
Ew.
It was just...
It was terrible.
and we...
It was terrible.
No, like, we have
Lauren, we're plunging
you turn the water off, we turn the water off,
it's still like the toilet was still exploding.
It was disaster.
Thankfully, the owner lived like next door.
So we call him,
he comes over, he's plunging,
he's like, all right, no running water.
Like, we have to turn everything off.
So we have 21 people in this house
with zero running water.
So how do you fix a problem like this?
The plumber came Friday morning,
thankfully so it was like a pretty
it wasn't that
the timeline wasn't that bad like it happened
late but they
came early fixed it the problem
was the water just
like reeked of sulfur
like you know that smell like rotten eggs
like we would turn just shower
and it was just like the shower
smelled so bad I bet your shower
when you finally got home was amazing
it was just unbelievable
but, you know, so we all go to bed.
It's probably close to two.
We're like, oh, man, you know, this poop house, here we are.
And there was multiple gas fireplaces.
And we, this sounds bad, but like our friend Madeline was joking, not joking, she was
dead serious about bringing a carbon monoxide alarm with her, like a portable one.
You can get it on Amazon because Ana Farris just had this scare where she was at a,
rental house in like Tahoe and she was with her family and they all got really sick.
They didn't know why. It was because of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Oh my God. And so there's all these gas fireplaces like four gas fireplaces in this house.
And we had them on sporadically in the night. Most of them were on. And then I mean, I don't want to
put the blame on me. But maybe it wasn't my fault. At first I thought it was my fault.
So you're blowing up your spot right now? Yeah, because my friends are going to listen to this.
And if I lie, they're going to call me out.
What did you do?
You left it on all night?
I left it on.
We left it on.
It was an accident.
We were tired.
It was 2 a.m.
We all went to bed.
I left it on.
In reality, it was only like four hours more than all the other ones that were on.
You know, everybody went to bed at the same time.
But at 6 a.m., the carbon monoxide alarms in the house start going off.
Like a heavy, like, peep, peep, peep, peep, peep.
Like so loud.
everywhere. And Madeline forgot her carbon monoxide things that she bought. She left them in her
apartment. And we were all just like, oh, yeah, okay, carbon monoxide. And then the carbon
monoxide alarm starts going off. And we all wake up and she's like, carbon monoxide, everybody,
get out. Oh my God. And we call the fire department because we were like, we actually have
all these gas fireplaces. There is a good chance. It could be a carbon monoxide.
Like none of us felt sick.
But we were also drinking.
So like, who knows?
Who knows?
Like, what is affecting us right now?
So, you know, we all bundle up.
We get out of the house.
It's 6 a.m.
The fire department comes.
They search the house.
They have their little monitor or whatever.
It's like, you know, half hour later they come out.
They're like, we didn't detect any carbon dioxide.
I think there's the alarms are fucked up.
and we were just like
you gotta be
Oh my God, I'm sorry
this sounds like an absolute nightmare
like a trip from hell
So now it was just
It was just funny because
Joe just was ready to
Just ready to just stay
Like he was just like
I'm not getting out of this bed
I was like you have to like get up
Like he then he was sleeping outside
On the porch we all got
We're sitting in like our cars
And I have this poor owner
I also felt so bad for him
Because he literally lives next door
like the houses are not far at all like they share the same driveway like it was very close and
he it was 6 a.m he was just at the house plunging all night like we didn't call him and we called the
fire department first because obviously like we're like carbon monoxide let's all not drop dead
and this insane like he comes running out of his house and was like guys what happened i felt so bad
I felt so bad for him.
And he's talking to the fire department.
They're like, yeah, I think your alarms are messed up.
So this guy also was having a nightmare scenario because he thought it was your guy's
thought that the fire department was there.
Oh, yeah.
He's like, he's like, thought.
No, it's, exactly.
They were like, and they tested.
They were like no carbon of an oxide.
It's something else is wrong.
Friday, everybody went skiing.
The alarm was still going off.
We had to like pull them out of the wall.
Take them.
It's like one of those.
possess things. You got to take it out. You pull them out of the wall and then you're, we kept,
we were like, oh my God, is that thing still beeping? Like, we had to pull out the backup battery
that was in the, it was other than that. Great time. Great time. We had a great time in poop
house. The only, after that there was really no like, there was no problems. Everybody went skiing,
everybody at good time. That sounds lovely besides all of the other stuff. Yeah, I mean, we were in the
middle of nowhere and Saturday night because I was not skiing so I was not really like out and about
that much Saturday night I wanted to go out so bad there was this daft punk like cover act playing at
the bar which was hilarious like I would love to know how much these guys paid for these like legitimate
daft punk replica helmets like the light up like LED lights like the whole thing um and we had so much
fun, but like we plan for hours on how to get to this part. There's no Ubers. We called all these
cab companies. They're like, yeah, we're booked like, no shot. We're like, what is going on?
Well, that will happen in, like, when you're in the middle of nowhere. Oh, totally. But it was,
well, it was funny because all my friends are like, there's no Ubers. We can't go anywhere.
I'm like, guys, Uber's like a fairly recent thing. Like, people, people had to get places before
Uber existed. Let's just go to that time and think about that.
Right. I remember when I was in high school, we would call cab services because there were no Ubers.
Yeah. So did we. I mean, like when I started college, there was no Uber. Like that's what we had to do. But obviously, easily, easily forgotten. But we did find cabs eventually got to go out.
Very happy for you. I was very happy. And then we all bundled our stuff up, said farewell to Pooke House and left on Sunday, drove.
home to watch to just be home.
Now you're here.
And now I'm here.
Monday morning.
Yep.
And we're going to just get through this week.
Yeah.
It's Super Bowl week for the people in our office that are in Miami.
It's not Super Bowl for us.
We're not going to Super Bowl this year.
First year we're not going.
It's all right.
We'll make it through.
It's cool.
Have fun, but don't have too much fun.
Who wants to go to the Super Bowl in Miami?
Not me.
Not me.
I want to be in New York.
honestly a lot of it has to do with radio scheduling like they're live for a billion hours
in Miami 12 to 6 yeah and it's a different vibes this year yeah we weren't in it exactly
we have a hotel it's not a house like there's there's a certain allotted amount of rooms
I'm really just trying to come up with more reasons like legitimate reasons why we were not
included this year well Fran I think it's because like realistically
last year when we went, we went to do the red carpet for Rough Rowdy and five people made it to
the red carpet. So they probably were like, yeah, we're not doing the red carpet this year. They're
not doing it. They're not even doing it. Because of last year. So I understand why. Like if there was
a red carpet, be a different story. I totally understand why, although it looks like it's to be a lot of
fun. But also, it is a lot of work as well. Yeah, so we're on radio 11 to 12. Yeah, if you want to listen
this week and yeah that's that's that's about it we'll be here the office is pretty quiet so yeah
I'm going to do a lot of drinking this week proud of you are you going to join me I already told
you I'm locked in for the weekend oh thank you yeah well yeah Friday night yes I'm locked in
we're going to have a sleepover okay sounds good okay well we have to talk about um the Grammys because
that's why people come here because they want the Grammys recap everybody needs to hear the
coverage. But we also talk about the Kara Santana and Jesse Metcalf drama. They are officially
split up now and there's a lot going on with that. Vanessa Hutchins has moved on from Austin Butler
with Kyle Kuzma and Jessica Simpson is releasing a memoir where she talks a lot about John Mayer.
But let's get into it starting off with the Grammys recap.
So you're a tough guy
Like you really rough guy
I'm not bad
Make you go from that type
Might seduce your dad type
All right guys
We're going to get into our full
Grammys breakdown
But first
We have a brand new
sponsor that we are super excited
About
We are super excited about the sponsor
Because we absolutely love them
Yeah I think we
We manifested this one big time
We worked with them
With the Jonas brothers
And we had a great time
I think I'm very happy because I feel like they enjoyed working with us that they came on to sponsor our show.
And that is the wonderful Coors Light.
We are so excited to be working with Coors Light, the Coors Brewing Company, Golden, Colorado.
We absolutely love Coors Light.
And we know that you guys should be drinking Coors Light too, especially at this time of the year.
it's cuffing season you know this is the time people get all there's a pressure you see people
have a pressure to pair up with somebody they couple up yeah exactly like it's those cold months
you want somebody to be with you don't need that who needs somebody to be with we know that the
stress during this time can be can be hard that's why you really need a moment to chill so just skip
cuffing season, hit that reset button with a cold Coors Light.
Coors Light is the perfect beer to chill when you want to skip cuffing season and do your
own thing.
Who says you got to find somebody during this time?
You don't need to live your own life.
It's the season of self-care.
So take some U-time.
Nothing pairs better with a chill moment to yourself than Coors Light.
Coors Light believes in turning off from all the pressures and crap of cuffing season.
they have a great new ad that's running on TV right now about confident women who don't need to
worry about that they're excited to just chill be home with their cores light i know ria you're living that
solo life this week yeah just this week thanks in miami i'm alone for a week but course light is
going to be there for you i'm not really going to be alone because i'm going to have cores light
all week long exactly there are there's so much pressure to be on all the time work friends
family, a million pressing social issues and expectations to be on.
If you just need some time to pause, refresh, think about yourself.
We have these great Coors Light T-shirts.
They say Made to Chill.
It describes Coors Light so, so well.
Especially, you know, it's Monday.
The Bachelor's on tonight.
Hang out, relax, crack open to Coors Light, and enjoy.
When you choose to turn off, reach for one beer that's made to chill.
That's why Coors Light is the one we choose when we need a moment of chill.
So this year, skip cuffing season and chill with the Coors Light instead.
And of course, guys, celebrate responsibly.
Cheers.
Cheers.
Thank you guys.
The world's most refreshing podcast.
Yes.
So last night was the Grammy Awards, like we talked about in the intro, obviously it was very different.
It had a more sad tone to it, obviously.
They were playing tribute.
to Kobe, which was handled amazing by Alicia Keys.
I want to start off by saying that.
Like Alicia Keys, just a marvelous human being, human being, human being, human being,
so much poise, grace, everything about her.
She is the, she's the perfect person for that situation.
Let's start with some carpet stuff before we get into the actual show.
like we said, props to everyone who worked this carpet, I feel like it was just incredibly hard,
incredibly difficult to balance having fun, but also respecting what just happened and honoring Kobe.
So we had some great looks.
We had some interesting looks.
Ariana Grande, we can start with her.
went full kind of Cinderella ball gown,
just absolutely ginormous dress.
The pictures of her like sitting in this dress
really made me laugh.
Like how do you maneuver?
How do you get around in that thing?
I have no idea, but I loved it.
Yeah, she looks beautiful.
It's just an absolute queen.
If you have to have the confidence to be like,
I'm going to wear that dress to the Grammys.
I'm going to sit on the red carpet.
I'm going to sit into this dress and pose.
it was her night she was just she was wearing this dress and then she had a second dress yeah i liked
the outfit change more i think almost really yeah i didn't like the outfit change i liked uh the first one
better um i thought the second one was still cute and it yeah it resembled the first one kind of um
i saw people replying it looked like a comforter it did it seemed very comfortable yeah looked like
i want to like snuggle right up to it i mean she could have been in like sweatpants under that thing
no one we we don't know like she you know but i was thinking we were
we're going to have like a Lady Gaga Metgala moment where like she would continue to just like take off layers of this gown as the evening went on and would end up in like some super cute like jumpsuit of some sort, you know, or whatever.
Like that once she had the second change, I was like, oh, yeah, she's going to take this off. It's going to be like pants.
But she had a few more changes throughout the night. She was wearing a green dress that I saw. I loved. I think I loved all of her looks.
The first one took my breath away though the first time I saw it.
then we have the Jonas Bellers of course
all three of them were rocking
I don't even know how to describe
what they were wearing
but
sometimes I love their red carpet looks
and sometimes I'm like
oh for the love of God what is that
what did you feel about this one?
I liked it I liked it
I thought they looked cool
they looked fashionable
I actually think Kevin looked the best
I feel like I really liked Kevin
suit Kevin and Daniel stole the show.
I mean, Danielle, Danielle looked so drop-dead gorgeous.
I can't.
Those two were easily the best dressed out of, out of the couples.
They looked unbelievable.
I thought Sophie looked really great.
She was in just more like a fun, super short party dress.
Because I love, I love Sophie Turner.
I get afraid to say what I feel about her fashion opinions.
That's fair.
But oftentimes I find myself being like, yeah, I like Sophie Turner's dress.
But on the inside, I'm like, did I really like Sophie Turner's dress?
You know, I just, I feel like it's kind of looking the same lately.
I don't know why the dress from last night reminded me of another one she wore recently.
And it just wasn't my favorite.
Not that it didn't look bad because she looked great.
It just wasn't my favorite.
I feel like she went like Grammys a little more like punk rock vibes.
You know, like she was just at the
SAG Awards.
At the SAG Awards, she was in like this Barbie pink, like long dress.
She looked beautiful.
But I feel like, you know, maybe she wanted to mix it up
and wear something different.
She did.
I loved her shoes.
I thought they were really cool.
Yeah, her shoes are really cool.
And then Nick and Priyanka, you know, they look great as always, but.
Priyanka's dress was not it.
I thought Priyanka.
looked beautiful.
She looked beautiful.
The
the dress
itself
was a lot.
There was a lot
going on with it.
Had a very deep
V in the front
like all the way
past her belly button.
I think she had
a lot of
boob makeup on.
Felt like
she contoured
the shit out of her cleavage.
Yeah, her boobs were
Yeah, I don't know how to describe them.
Like they looked great but also at the same time
I saw one picture that was just like a little up close.
It's just a dress like that you need to
Like anytime it's photographed it needs to be the absolute perfect angle
You know?
It's just very hard like it's hard to pull off a look like that.
I think she did pull it off.
There's not a lot of people who can pull off
that kind of look.
I thought she really looked beautiful.
Her hair and makeup was stunning.
And, you know,
there goes to Jones Brothers
and their beautiful wives.
Just having a night,
I was very happy to see them
on the Grammy carpet.
Obviously, they performed later too.
We'll talk about that.
And I thought, you know, it was great.
There wasn't too many, like, major,
I feel like,
carpet moments,
Taylor Swift,
we thought she was,
there was rumors that she was going to have like a surprise performance she didn't go yeah
little naus ex um his red carpet outfit was iconic it was amazing this hot pink cowboy i i i don't even
know how to describe it but it's like a little like s and m cowboy like combined it's amazing
lizzo looked i love so beautiful lizzo looked stunning she really looked gorgeous what a beautiful
white she looks so beautiful and white she loves wearing white right um
I think she's, I think they said she was in Versace.
Like, she just looked.
She looked stunning.
It was a beautiful, beautiful dress.
I'm trying to look.
Who else?
Chrissy Teagan, I love that orange color.
Yeah, yeah.
She looked great too.
Um, I really liked, really liked her dress.
Duolipa, I think was one of my favorites.
I loved.
Loved.
Loved hers.
I was going to put her, I forgot.
She was going to be right at the top of my list.
Yeah, yeah.
I really liked.
It was like very sleek, elegant, off white satin almost.
Like it was really cool.
Classy.
It was almost like seemed like a little 90s, but like it was a very, very cool look.
I mean, Billy Elish obviously was rocking her full green Gucci like she does.
I feel like she is, I was just watching her walk the carpet.
I was like how tall it?
Like I feel like she's just so cute and little and I just want to squeeze her.
I'm looking up her height now.
Oh, she's my height.
Exactly.
Perfect.
Cute and little.
That's more.
squeeze me?
Yeah.
Oh, that makes me so cute and cuddly.
I just want to give her a big hug.
People are now going to wonder what my height is.
It says she's 5'3.
I'm like 5.3 and a quarter, I would say.
I put 5.4 on my license.
Remember when you guys measured me and it turns out?
I've been lying.
Yeah.
You always round up.
Yeah, of course.
Of course I'm going to round up.
Yeah, I thought she looked so cute.
I'm trying to think of Gwen Stefani.
Blake Shelton.
Yeah, I didn't think, I think.
I think, I think. I think that everybody, you know, looked good.
There wasn't many absolute standouts.
Yeah.
I think Billy Porter had a cool, super cool, as always.
I think we should get into the show.
There were a ton of people saying Duolipa looked like Ria.
I did see that.
And Camille DM'd me as well, being like, Ria, you are Duolipa.
And honestly, I'm honored.
Like, thank you guys.
I was reading the DMs.
I was like, just stop because you're flattering me way too much.
Yeah, I was honored because I really, I was, I was, that was really nice of you to bring up on your own, Noah.
That was very, that was very kind.
And they're like still coming in.
Thank you, Noah.
I'll take that as a huge compliment.
I feel like that's an honor.
All right.
Let's get into the actual show, which was entirely too long.
Yeah.
The Grammys, I, I'm always.
excited for it. But once it hits like 1115, I'm like, oh my God, we haven't even done the major
awards yet. What is going on? Why is this? Why is this happening? There's a lot that could be
condensed or I don't even know what. But it was a great. It was fun to watch. Like we said,
Alicia Keys did a phenomenal job. Maybe we put her speech in here at the
beginning because it wasn't really that long. She summed it up really well.
Here we are together on music's biggest night celebrating the artists that do it best.
But to be honest with you, we're all feeling crazy sadness right now.
Because earlier today, Los Angeles, America, and the whole wide world,
lost a hero.
And we're literally standing here
heartbroken
in the house
that Kobe Bryant built.
Right now
Kobe and his daughter
Gianna and all of those
that have been tragically lost today
are in our spirit.
They're in our hearts.
They're in our prayers.
They're in this building.
And I would like to ask
everybody to take a moment and just hold them inside of you, hold them inside of you, and share
our strength and our support with their families. We never imagined in a million years we'd have to
start the show like this. Never, never, never, never, never, never, never. So we wanted to do something
that could describe a tiny bit how we all feel right now. She brought out boys to
men to sing and it was so beautiful and I think you know there wasn't a dry eye in the house they had
Kobe's jersey they had you know a spotlight on Kobe's jerse the whole night in the
staple center yeah she had a very difficult task and I think that she nailed it you know
definitely there wasn't any perfect way to handle this no obviously but I think that she did the
best job that she could yeah exactly especially you know what happened
hours before the show even started.
I'm sure they had some whole other plan
that they had to scrap, of course.
And once Alicia had this moment,
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani performed,
and boy, did I feel bad for them.
Yeah, that just, they should, I'm sorry,
but like, scrap the performance.
Like, scrap Blake Shelton and Gwen.
And I know that sounds rude.
I just don't have that performance.
Which leads me to my point that there's
entirely in too many performances during the Grammy Awards.
I know it's about the music, but it's the award show.
I want to see the awards.
It's 1145 at night and we're announcing the last award.
I know that you want to like.
Lizzo did open the show too.
Lizzo did a fantastic job.
Obviously, she said this one is for Kobe and she did an amazing job.
Oh my God.
I was pumped up right when I heard her singing.
But the thing is, I don't think it's offensive to just not have as many performers, you
know. Just don't let those people know they're performing.
Right. Or just don't ask you.
Yeah, don't ask that many people. Just ask a few people.
The thing is they, I do understand it because they, they've always been pretty good.
They want to touch all genres. They want to make sure everybody is represented.
But yeah, no, it is, it is, it is quite long.
I'm trying to think of who my favorites were. Oh, well, first of all, I loved, I mean, we'll talk about it.
Why not just to talk about it first?
The Jones Brothers were.
We knew they were playing a bit of a new song.
They did, they started with this new song called Five More Minutes off their forthcoming album,
which a little video came out afterwards where they announced a new album coming,
that what a man got to do is their first single from it.
And, I mean, I just can't believe they're churning out this much music so fast.
I knew it because they said that they had recorded so many songs
that they have just been cranking out songs.
But rumor has it, you know, we'll be getting a new album in May.
It's just amazing.
Yeah, I'm very excited about that.
Vegas residency.
Yeah, which by the way, Jonas Bellars, you can wait one month
because me and Fran are going to Vegas in May and they're doing it April.
Like, yeah, really?
There's some rumors.
that they will be doing this again multiple times.
Like it won't just be these dates in April.
Okay.
There could potentially be like December, January, something around that time as well.
Like a New Year's?
Yeah, because I think I'm going to have to wait it out.
I really would love to.
You can go to Vegas twice.
I would really love to go in April, but like we're going in the beginning of May.
I don't have that much money.
I mean, when asked, like Joe, my boyfriend had asked me like,
what I was complaining about, I don't know, what I was complaining about.
And he was like, Francesca, sit down and calculate how much money you spent on the Jonas
brothers in 2019 and get back to me.
And I was like, I don't want to do that.
Yeah, no.
I don't want to do that.
I do not want to know the number.
You can't justify spending money to go to Vegas to see the Jonas Bellers.
Nobody can allow you to do that.
I'm sorry, I know you want to.
The weekend after I can't.
Maybe, you know, December, January, I can.
But it is just too soon.
You can't go to Vegas twice in two months.
I feel like that's just too much Vegas.
The thing is, is I would go for the George brothers and nothing else.
Like I would go fly, see them fly home.
Like there's like, you know what?
You're not allowed.
Me and no, we're saying you can't go.
There's no other.
No, I would leave on a Friday night.
The show's on a Saturday.
I would come back on Sunday.
You guys wouldn't even know I was gone.
That's a crazy amount of effort.
It is just to see that.
You've seen them a million times.
Flying across the country.
Yeah, but not their Vegas residency.
Friend, but you would fly six hours or whatever it is just to see them.
You've seen it a million times.
I can't just, I'm sorry, I cannot justify this.
I can't, in my brain.
I already said I'm not going to do it.
I want to, but I'm not.
That's crazy.
That's like, we need to seek you help.
Anyways, besides the Jonas Brothers, there were, uh,
Nick had food and his teeth.
Yeah.
Just let that slide.
Yeah.
So I, Fran, I tweeted at you that Nick had furnished you.
Yeah, I saw it.
I didn't want to address it.
Okay.
You ignored me.
And then Nick Jones tweeted about it.
Yeah, you know, well, I'm not going to lie.
At first, I was seeing the pictures on Twitter and I was like, does he have a dead tooth?
Like I, like the way it was like a weird shadow.
And I was like, oh, man, like, is that food?
Is that something else?
I didn't want to speak on the matter until he did.
And he did.
He, you know, tweeted that he likes his greens.
so I can't believe nobody told him that he had food in his teeth.
I mean, the thing is, is he's not like a big mouth talker.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, it was deep in there.
Yeah, but when he sings, he's a big teeth guy when he sings.
I'm saying in preparation for, like, if he was just talking, hanging out backstage,
probably nobody saw.
How do you not do a teeth check when you're a performer before you get out there?
I do teeth checks all the time.
That's fair.
I got anything in it?
No, you're good.
You have to do a teeth check.
because people don't tell you nowadays.
And I think it's bullshit.
If I have food in my teeth, let me know.
I really can't believe nobody told him,
but maybe nobody saw it.
Priyanka didn't see it?
I guess not.
I guess not.
I'm sorry.
I'm just getting mad about the times
where I've had food in my teeth
and then I look in the mirror
and I realize I've been talking
with my friends and my lover.
What?
I was going to say my lover.
Your lover?
I'm sorry.
Are we calling Hank, your lover now?
I was going to say my loved ones.
Your loved ones.
I have tears.
I meant to say my lover.
You know, there's times when I'm talking with my lover.
He doesn't tell me I have food of my teeth.
I meant to say my loved ones.
And I said lover, but I love her too, okay?
Okay.
I have full on tears going on.
You know what?
I do love him.
He is my lover.
My loved ones, okay?
Okay.
When they don't tell you your food of your teeth, it sucks.
Moving on.
Moving on.
I thought they did a great job.
What was that?
I loved their outfits for their performance.
I also loved.
I felt good color cohesion.
They were all like kind of in gold vibes.
Trying to think of who else.
I mean,
there are so many, right?
Like child of the creator,
I thought was awesome.
I don't personally get it.
Mm-hmm.
But I can respect it.
His performance was fucking cool.
You couldn't understand him at all.
I can respect it, but boy, does that guy confuse me?
You couldn't understand him at all, which confused me because when you do listen to the song,
not live, like, you can understand him.
Yeah, it's hard to transit live his music.
Right.
And that leads me to talk about...
But boy, when the camera started to shake and everything, I was thinking about being
at the Mosh pits at a Tower of the Creator show, and I got, like, anxiety.
I was, like, in my bed under the covers, and I was, like, anxious about other people.
He won for best rap album. He did. And by the way, his reaction to...
He dressed as a bellhop. Yeah, he dressed as a bellhop.
On the carpet, which we didn't mention before. Yeah, he looked like, I don't even need to see it.
Esteban Julio, Ricardo, Montoya, Del Rosa Ramirez.
Oh, wow. That was straight off from the top of your head. Yeah. I mean, I've, like I said,
I love the sweet life. Yeah, a lot of Sweet Life references, a lot of Grand Budapest Hotel references.
So he, when he announced that he won,
I think you could see him
Mouting like, please say my name.
Which I thought was hilarious.
And then when he did win, he was like,
I was so shocked.
So happy for him.
And his mom was so freaking cute.
And you could tell him.
Like I feel like she just popped up on the stage.
She did.
Like he,
he went up alone.
And when he got to the microphone,
he looked to his left and his mom was just standing there.
Yeah.
She just ran up there, which is fair.
she was excited she was crying yeah um there were so many i think great moments with tyler last night one of
them he talked about uh being nominated for a rap album and he was like kind of talking about how
it it doesn't make sense because his album wasn't really rap and he was saying that he thinks that they
you know just because of the way he looks that they just put him in the rap category when it could be
pop and it could be other things yeah um which i understand because his album i wouldn't say
really is a rap album. It has some in it, but it's hard to describe the type of music that it is,
honestly. And then he was tweeting that he was excited. He got the wrap-up music, which as I was
watching, I was laughing. Whenever somebody gets the rap-up music, it's hilarious, because you know
they're getting it, but they're not going to stop. And then he tweeted out, somebody was just so
excited about the rap-up music. He was just like, I'm so hyped on that, which is amazing. And then
he had this tweet from somebody in 2011, somebody tweeted at him, don't be too excited. You won't
get one because he was tweeting about how he was going to get a Grammy one day. And he quote
tweeted that and wrote, I favored this nine years ago just for the moment to tell you I got one.
Yes, I'm petty as fuck. Good day, Mark. Love it. I absolutely love this. How did Tyler the
creator have this tweet saved from 2011 ready, ready to just dunk on this guy?
Mark. Like he could not wait for the day that he could be like, good day, Mark. I love it.
Love the pettiness. Really, really good stuff for me. I aspire to have that kind of energy.
Imagine being that guy and you just check your phone. It's like Tyler the grader.
Nine years later. Nine years later, he just responded to your tweet. Thank God that guy didn't
delete that tweet because that would be unfortunate. But it was amazing. It was really, really good.
Amazing. Um, Ariana Grande was fantastic. I thought she sounded amazing.
cool alpha changes got to perform seven rings um there was a that her and billy elish had like so many
cute photos and we tweeted one out and there was such a funny reply that was like so true it was um
i didn't i forget who who sent it to us but she said like is this is this straight out of wicked
like it was them on the red carpet and literally like ariena grande looked like linda and billy
stylish looked like alpha-but.
Like it was just just a very funny visual.
And I thought she was fantastic.
I mean, Ariana Grande is one of the best, truly like live performers.
You know, you know she's actually saying her heart out, which I very much respect.
Yes, which leads me to talk about Demi Lovato, who I think is just.
right now, the number one alive singer that I have seen.
Like, just vocally speaking, that is singing.
Through and through, that is singing.
I'm not going to lie.
I almost got into multiple Twitter fights last night
and had to, like, delete multiple tweets because,
and it was not, like, they were outliers.
It was not, like, the general consensus.
Like a lot of people, like everyone was freaking out over Demi's performance.
I thought she sounded amazing.
It was incredibly emotional.
I was crying again.
Like I just, I just want Demi Lovato to be happy and healthy.
And she started, you know, she started crying before she was even, you know, got through the song, had to restart.
I was just like, it was, it was so emotional.
And I thought she sounded so amazing.
And there's people on Twitter who were like, that was devastatingly awful.
I mean that's just not true.
And I went through literally like all of her tweets and she's and she was just like a miserable
human being right.
Like her replies back.
She replied to a lot of chicks in the office tweets just a hater on everyone.
Just like a real, real miserable girl.
And I was just like, you know what?
I'm not going to do this right now.
But it's not even worth it.
But she was fantastic.
The song's out now.
it's called anyone
she wrote it before
she overdosed it's
heartbreaking to listen to
this song I can't believe
nobody was listening
like truthfully the lyrics
of the song she said that she wrote
it a few days before she overdosed
it's an insane cry for help
insane she was just kept saying
over and over again is anyone listening
she hates when she sings she feels like
she's doing it for no reason
such a powerful song I see it's number
one all over the place right now, which I think it deserves to be. And she just has such a
phenomenal voice. It's a nice preview to the national anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday.
You know, pound the over on that because she's really going to hold out those notes. I'm telling you that.
Hell, yeah, she is. I can. I cannot wait. Another moment of tears, Camilla Cabello saying that song with her dad. That song with her dad.
And I mean, I was crying again.
It was just with everything that was going on,
with losing Kobe and his daughter and these families being broken apart
and having loved ones pass away in this crash.
And her honoring her dad like that and just,
once again, it was just like people were tweeting,
you know, this hits different.
It did.
It was just, it was so emotional.
She had home videos playing.
It was beautiful.
Truly a beautiful moment.
I loves what she was wearing, by the way.
She looks stunning.
This pink outfit was incredible.
I loved it.
And her dad, he was brought to tears, of course.
Anyone would be, we all were on our couches.
They embraced in the end.
I have to say the people that kept saying like,
oh, Camille Cabello with a performance for a special someone.
Like, can we knock it off with that?
Right, right, right.
Let's, let's...
Everyone was talking about how she didn't walk the carpet with Sean Mendez.
I'm like, they're weird.
They don't walk the carpet together.
We know this.
Yeah, like they, sometimes they do.
Sometimes they don't.
Like, they're...
Are they even dating?
Who knows?
Yeah.
It was a beautiful song for her dad, though.
And people were like, is she saying, John Mendez is the one?
Like, I don't...
Right.
It's a song that's like...
It's like her...
Talking about, you know, finding somebody that loves her.
the whole thing
what
the whole thing
it was a beautiful moment
I don't think we need to
like dive into it anymore
you know what I'm saying
like dissect it like it was a beautiful
moment right that's what I'm annoyed that they keep bringing up
Sean Mendez in this
Usher had a tribute to Prince
that was great
love watching that man dance
I didn't think it was great
I love watching him dance
Because I love Prince and I felt like he was doing a karaoke version of Prince.
Honestly, my mom is, well, was and is, but just obsessed with Prince.
Yeah.
Like, obsessed, which made me love Prince.
And I just felt like Usher could have done a better job.
I don't know why.
It just felt like his moves weren't living up to Usher's moves.
And his voice, obviously, he's not going to sound like Prince, but kind of sounded like a karaoke version of Prince.
I know. I didn't want to be a hater
because I'm usually like all about like
oh they were all great but there was something
when I was watching where I was like this isn't hitting like it should.
I thought it was kind of bizarre that they were like Prince
Prince Tribute with Usher like FK Twigs like FKTwigs like did nothing but just dance around
like yeah.
Did she not why did she not perform like why did she not sing it was it was
it was kind of bizarre.
I'm trying to think Billy Elish sounded beautiful saying when when the party
she she has just like a voice where especially with that song like I just feel like you stop and listen
to whatever she's doing you know just gentle it is in like a very beautiful haunting way right and
I hate when people say that Billy Elish can't sing because that was proof that she can sing you know
what I mean I think that she sang that song she says a different style like she's not a Demi Lovato
she's not a belter but that doesn't mean she can't sing right um
Well, I guess what we can talk about, Billy Eilish, just absolutely sweeping the night.
She won every award.
She swept the big four awards.
She won record of the year, song of the year, best new artist, and album of the year.
Nobody else had a shot, apparently.
Just nobody else, which I'm cool with.
I love Billy Elish.
I loved her album.
So I was happy with the outcome.
I think she totally deserves it.
I think it's crazy that people will say she doesn't deserve it just because they want, like,
Ariana Grande to win.
because I do think Ariana would have deserved it as well
if she won to.
There's a lot of really great.
But they just take it away from Billy Elish.
You don't need to take it away from her to say
that you think Ariana should have won.
Even Billy herself was like,
I think Ariana should have won,
which I think I don't know how I feel about that
because as Ariana, you're probably thinking yourself,
and you could see Ariana being like, don't talk about me.
Like, this is good.
But it's just.
Billy's young and she's,
It looks up to these people.
Exactly.
I think it comes from her being 17, 18.
She's 18 now.
She's 18 now.
And like you said, looking up to all these people, just being absolutely floored that
you're nominated with these people to begin with.
And then having like a little bit of imposter syndrome, just being like, do I belong here?
Like what is going on?
Why am I?
You know, and it's just in those, in that moment you freak out.
I'm sure, like, she appreciates it so much, but you get up there and you're like,
how the hell am I up here right now with all these people that I've looked up to for so long
and are so, so great?
And that's also just like kind of how she is.
Like she is like a little self-deprecating.
That's kind of how she talks about herself.
And I think at that age, like, if she was coming across snobby and like, oh, I should win these awards.
People would be saying that about her.
And I think that anyone that young would get up there and be like, okay, this is now my fourth Grammy.
Well, she won five, but there was four big ones.
And obviously they're all big, but that was like the last four big ones of the night.
And she just had to get up there four times in a row.
After the last time, she was like, I'm going to keep this short.
Nothing else to say.
Thank you.
Which I get.
I mean, what is she supposed to get up there and give this a long speech every single time?
I mean, it's, it just goes to show how incredible this album really was and how respected it was because you don't see people winning Song of the Year and record of the year.
Like, it's usually different, which the category is confused me anyway, like Song of the Year, Record of the Year.
I get the difference.
People explain it to you.
It just confuses me every single time.
And then album of the year, it's just crazy.
and her brother Phineas, who worked on it with her, is, you know, producer.
It's just crazy.
Finiis won producer of the year.
Like these two are a serious dynamic duo.
They work so well together, obviously.
But, yeah, and she, and I thought she did a great job.
She was obviously frazzled after winning so many awards.
Like, you just run out of things to say.
And I think it speaks to how young she is that she was talking about.
fandoms being up there while she was up there she thanked her fans obviously but kind of joked about
ah like please don't other fandoms like hate me like i don't know why you know because yeah it's she's so
in tune with all that stuff and like the ariana fans are that that that that that fandom can
eat you alive and spit you out the mentality that these people have is quite crazy to me yeah it's
legitimately crazy like how do you how do you sit online
all day and just go after people who don't like your favorite person.
It makes no sense to me.
And I, and, you know, I really wanted the Jonas Brothers to win pop duo group performance.
I really thought like this could have been their time.
Sucker was such a smash hit.
But it's also, it's one of those things where you just have to like, you can't be that
upset because a song like Old Town Road that was just so.
insanely popular for so long and was just like such a impactful song. I feel like just on the on the music
industry. You understand why they won the award. Like it's like I'm sad. I wish the Jones Brothers won,
but kind of it makes sense. It does. It makes sense. Little Nazex had a great performance,
incredible performance with BTS, Diplo, Mason Ramsey and Billy Ray Cyrus.
Mason Ramsey, it's never going to get old.
If you got no giddy up, giddy up out my way.
Like that's just...
If you ain't got no giddy up, then giddy out my way.
It's just stone cold.
Like that little boy is slapping you in the face.
Love it.
Diplo, he's just a creature.
He's just all over the place, gets involved with everything.
BTS crushed it.
They were really good.
Soul Town Road.
Awesome.
Yeah.
It was unreal.
And Little Nazex killed it.
It was a really cool way to perform
all of the different remixes that they put out for the song.
And I am so happy for Billy Ray Cyrus.
Like he, on the carpet, he was talking to, I think it was Ryan.
And he's with Lil Nas X.
They're talking about how they had already, they knew they won pop duo group performance.
And Billy just seemed so happy.
He's like, this is my first Grammy ever.
Like he was so excited.
And it's just, it must just be so crazy for him to have like to be on this song for
to blow up as much for him to get his first Grammy for it.
Like Lil Nas X hopefully has a long career ahead of him.
Who knows what, you know, what happens next for him.
But, you know, for Billy Ray Cyrus to like have this moment, I thought was so cute.
It was so cute.
And when he got on stage, it was.
Oh, it was just fantastic.
Arrow Smith also performed.
Yeah.
I just don't get why.
Now, because I do.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But I don't at the same time.
Like, I think, because I don't want to say I think it should be about the new performers
because I love when they sprinkle in some older performers too.
Yeah.
But I was just confused about why they were performing.
and it was right after Billy Elish
and I would have liked to have seen
Billy Elish perform multiple songs
rather than see Aerosmith perform
because... Run DMC.
Well, I thought that it was really cool
to see them together.
But they could have done one song.
Right.
And Billy Elish could have had more
because they got multiple songs.
Billy got one song.
Meanwhile, she won four of those Grammys.
Ariana Grande sang multiple songs.
Yeah.
I just, I don't know, I would have liked to see her perform, perform more songs.
So that's why I thought that I was, you know, cut a few.
I think that's super fair.
Also, the two girls that went on stage with Stephen Tyler, they had no idea how to dance.
Oh, no.
They were so confusing.
Very uncomfortable to watch.
Very secondhand embarrassment.
I couldn't even watch it.
I also was like Stephen Tyler.
Like, let's just.
Yeah, I was like, of course, Stephen Tyler's bringing these two girls on stage.
Unnecessary at this point.
I thought the Nipsey Hustle tribute was really great.
great. Yes, they won higher, won John Legend, DJ Collid. They had a really great moment on stage when they accepted the award. Nipsey's family got up there, which I thought was really special. Yeah, I thought they did a great job. You know, and they honored Nipsey. They also put Kobe up on the screen after as well. So I thought it was beautiful John Legend. Anytime that guy is singing, it's fantastic.
Rosalia performed.
She's great.
I think she, as I think this year, like, we're going to see a lot of her.
I think she will probably be featured on a lot of songs.
We'll be on a lot of big songs.
Her performed, she's just like the coolest person ever.
And then it started to get.
Besides Alicia Keys.
Because whenever Alicia Keys talks or like introduces someone,
I think it was when she introduced Usher was when I really had a moment where I was like,
she's the coolest fucking person ever.
She was like, my brother, Usher.
And the way she said it, I was like, if anyone else said that, they would just seem so uncool.
But Alicia is just too cool.
Too cool for me to be watching on TV.
Extremely.
And then, you know, this is where we get a lot of, a lot of tributes by Ray performed.
Gary Clark Jr. performed.
the Ken Erlich tribute, which had a ton of people in it.
But this was like, now we were fast approaching 11, 1115.
It was late.
It was a long day.
You were just kind of hoping for things to wrap up a little bit.
But like we said, we already talked about Billy.
Billy won all the major awards.
We reached the end of the show before.
Exactly. Like we kind of knew, hopefully that this is coming. I'm, I'm interested to see, like you said, I would also love to see more actual awards given out. Like, there's so many big ones that I feel like aren't actually part of the broadcast that I wish they were. Like the pop duo group category, like I would have loved to have seen Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus except that award and be able to get up on.
stage.
So, and there's a, you know, there's a few other ones that I feel like are fairly exciting
awards that I would like to see.
I know they can't do all of them, but it's just interesting to see which ones they pick
and which ones they don't.
But I also get it.
They try to touch every, they try to, they try to go in all directions, right?
They do best rap album, but then they do country, you know, like they try and try and mix it up.
Cut out some performances.
Yeah. Ken, I know, I think this is last year executive producing. Maybe it'll be shorter.
Yeah, let's cut some out. Like, I'm just saying, I don't, I don't, the thing is, I don't know who I'd cut out.
Right. Like, we don't want to make that decision. Yeah, I don't want to make the decision. Just don't invite that many people next year.
We just don't want to, yeah, we're not the ones making that decision, but, you know, just, just think about it.
Right. Well, I think that wraps up our Grammy's recap. I think we touched everything.
if we forgot something, don't kill us.
We're sorry.
Tanya Tucker and Brandy Carlisle performed.
I'm just going to say that to say that we talked about every performance.
I think that was the only one we're going to talk about.
Yes.
We covered it all.
We hope we covered it all.
And that's it.
So, guys, there is a lot of drama going on between Kara Santana and Jesse Matcalfe.
And as we know, when drama starts to heat up and things get
stressful in our lives. We don't know where to turn. We need something to relax us.
And I have the perfect thing to do that. It is CBDMD. CBDMD is a trusted leader in the CBD
industry that is committed to promoting better support, recovery, and relaxation. They have a
wide variety of THC-free products ranging from classic CBD oil tinctures to CBD gummies and even a full
line of pet products. This is what I love about CBDMD is the fact that they have so many.
options. You know, if you don't want to just like take CBD oil or put it in your drink or something
like that, you don't want to drink it, you don't want to ingest it. There are other ways. I use the
CBDMD recovery cream. I put it on my back. Or sometimes I use the CBD gummy. So you can eat those.
They taste good. They make you feel relaxed. So when it comes to unwinding after a long day,
nothing helps you escape the office, stress, drama, school, whatever it is, like CBD,
and especially CBD bath bombs and CBD PM. CBD bath bombs combined relaxing scents like
eucalyptus and lavender with 100 milligrams of premium CBD. They work just like ordinary bath bombs
and are the ultimate way to relax, regroup, and recharge. If you have a bathtub at home that
you like to take baths in and you use bath bombs, I suggest you change it up with a C.
bath bomb because it is truly an amazing, amazing way to relax. And there's also CBDMD, which blends
500 milligrams of high quality CBDMD with melatonin, valerian root, chamomile, and other sleep promoting
ingredients to create a powerful and effective sleep. So if you are struggling with sleep and you
find yourself staying up late at night and you're tossing and turning, I suggest trying CBDPM.
It is the best way to get that good sleep in.
And to make it even easier for you to try CBDMD for yourself,
all chicks in the office listeners can take 25% off their next order
when you use promo code chicks at checkout.
Once again, that's CBDMD.com.
Promocode chicks at checkout for 25% off your next purchase of superior CBD oil products from CBDMD.
It's getting petty.
Yeah, it's getting real petty in the streets on Instagram.
Let's talk about it, Fran.
First of all, we'll do a brief explanation
because I feel like a lot of people might not know
who these people are.
Kara Santana, fashion blogger.
She's one of Olivia Culpo's best friends.
So if you follow Olivia, you've definitely seen her before.
They go on vacations all the time.
And Kara has been dating Jesse McHaff,
John Tucker, from John Tucker Must I,
also in Jasper Housewives for a very long time.
They've been together like, you know, 13 something years.
So yesterday, shit hit the fan because there were these pictures that came out of Jesse
hanging out with two other women and that they had broken up and that he had moved out.
And like us weekly, they posed this whole thing like that they, their relationship was over.
And then people comment, people post about it.
They wrote an article.
and they said that Kara had no idea that her relationship with Beyonce, Jessie Maccalf, was over.
She was wearing her ring yesterday.
A source close to Santana tells people.
She had no idea things weren't fine until she saw the photos online today.
I promise they never broke up until today.
The source believes the actor is a cheater.
Now, if you saw Olivia Copo's story while this was all happening, she, there was, I feel like, definitely some shade.
there was she posted one that was a picture of I thought I took a screenshot of it but maybe I didn't
one that was like don't don't shoot now I'm gonna forget what it was it was the mean girls said don't
the Olivia girls yeah I mean the Olivia girl I don't know I don't know why I said that the um I don't even know
what I was trying to say to be honest Olivia Copo story Olivia story a meme girl a meme of me girls yes that said don't cheat nobody
likes a cheater. Yes. And then the other one was like, don't fuck with my friend or something at
Caras Santana, right? Or like, something along those lines. And then things got even
pettier, which I love. I'm fully of support. Oh, hell yeah. Especially if he's.
If he's cheating then. Yeah. Also, he posted an Instagram three hours ago. What a
bold move. Is he just?
John Tucker in real life?
I'm starting to think so.
I mean, this is, I said this to my, I said this, I said this, I said this, I said this, I said this to my friends.
I'm not going to say that.
Like, the John Tucker movie is just, we're, it's being lived out in real life.
Like, these girls, you know, Karen, her friends are now, like, taking down John Tucker.
Good.
And it's actually John Tucker.
On his Instagram, it was like from three days ago of a, you know, black and white portrait of his face.
And Style Me Mave, who is Mave, Rive.
Riley, who is Haley Bieber stylist.
Yes, Haley Bieber stylist as well as Kara.
She and Mariel Hine Hain, who is also a stylist, also very good friends with Kara.
They both commented on it with one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine.
I think I'm counting.
Nine diamond ring emojis, both of them.
Because that's how long they've been together.
I wish that they had thought that through and, like, added a few more.
But no, they've been together for longer.
I think, I think 13 years.
Let's talk about the pictures that were online because this is crazy to me.
She had no idea.
And then all of a sudden he was just seen out in public with other girls.
That's out of control.
That is what it says.
I mean, this guy didn't care at all.
He was just.
out and about
not caring who sees him
with other women
while he's engaged
it's very odd
and that
and people is reporting that
you know unlike other outlets
that were reporting
that they were fighting for a little bit
and that things were on the rocks
people's reporting that's not true
and that they were 100% dating
yeah the first report was that they split three weeks ago
like that there was like a breakup
but then
this source had talked to people saying that she had absolutely no idea that this was that this was going on.
They have been together for over 10 years. I think he proposed in like 2016, I want to say.
I'm not totally positive on. Oh, yes. Metcalf and Santana have been in relationship for more than 10 years and got engaged in August of 2016.
So pictures came out of him and this model.
Livia Pilman outside of a vegan restaurant was Hollywood before they walked together hand in hand to the valet.
That's just wild.
Their outing came before the actor was photographed that evening,
cuddling up to a blonde woman, believed to be Australian actress and 68 whiskey star Jade Pia.
Oh, God.
Good luck, Fran.
Jade Pietra Antonio.
Pietra Antonio at a bar in Sherman Oaks and a rep for Santana's care is not going to comment and ask that everyone please respect your privacy at this time.
So, I mean, look at the, there's some.
Yeah, I'm looking at them.
They're cozy.
They're concerning.
They're worse than the Justin Timberlake, Jessica Beal controversy.
Way worse.
He's clearly into these people.
It's very strange that somebody using cage would just step out and do these things.
He and Livia are clearly, I would assume, friends because she Instagrammed a picture of the two of them together in December for some kind of ad campaign that they were doing together.
And then it's just very bizarre.
Obviously, like Kara and Jesse were together throughout the holidays, everything.
they're saying that
that's what happened
you know she
this is where we are that they had thought that
it was like I said
for support that this happened weeks ago
but according to
now they're saying a source close to her
it didn't happen until Wednesday
so that is
I mean that poor girl that is
devastating they've been together for
like 13 I think years almost
yeah this is really devastating I don't even know
how I'd act. I don't know where to begin with this.
Like your whole life, you need to rearrange everything now. They've been living together.
They've been together for so long. Everything's going to have to change. I feel terrible.
And honestly, fuck him from what it seems like. If everything is what it seems. Yeah.
And clearly things are, who knows, this would be my speculation. I mean, to be engaged since
2016 and still not have the wedding or plan the wedding, like she's been quoted.
saying like you know there's taking it one step at a time um she's been quoted many times that like
once you got engaged that that would just that there was a a calmness and that the wedding would just
you know come eventually so yeah this is just i don't know it's a crazy story like i said
getting petty yeah it is and i think it's just going to eat i think i don't know if it's going
get even more petty. He's posting pictures
of him in the gym. He's working
out. He doesn't, it's just... I don't know
if it's going to get more petty or if it's just
going to be a thing where he continues to live his life because he is
posting pictures. He posted this thirsty
picture in the car earlier today.
Check your blind spot. Eye emojis?
It's just, he clearly doesn't
care. He obviously doesn't care because if he did,
he'd probably be silent on social
media or apologizing on social media.
He's posting pictures.
thirst traps at the gym. He clearly wants nothing to do with this, which is just sad.
It's honestly really sad. When you get to, when you see people like this guy, you know, who's just
quintessential hot dude on Instagram, the comments are so funny. Like, it's just, it's just girl,
like so many girls just fire emojis, heart emojis, like, so people just, people just,
talking about how hot he is.
Oh, there we go.
Finally.
Here's a girl who said,
nice job fucking up your engagement
with two other women, bro.
Because most of it is still,
oh, no.
Still pretty positive.
Unreal.
I went to...
I feel very, very, very bad for her.
That is got to be terrifying.
And also, I would assume
that even though it's like,
no comment, right?
Like, care is not going to speak on.
this at this time. For them to put out that this happened three weeks ago, but then a couple
hours later to have like a source close to her say this happened on Wednesday. She was blindsided.
She had no idea that she didn't know until she saw the pictures. Makes me think that she wanted that
story to be correct. Right. 100% she had another source call somebody up. That you have somebody say like,
well, that story's wrong. Like let's make sure everybody knows that he absolutely.
fucked up majorly and I didn't know about it until today.
I would do the same thing.
Yeah.
I would want that out there.
I want this guy to get away with his actions.
Fuck that.
Mm-hmm.
So we'll see what happens.
I feel bad for her like we keep saying.
Yeah.
And hopefully he stops being a douche on Instagram with his cool car pictures and his thirst
traps at the gym.
It's out of control.
It's just real life, John Tucker.
And I hope that Kara gets her girl gang together and they take him down.
John Tucker style.
They just torment him.
Let's just make the title of this podcast, John Tucker must die.
Yeah.
He must.
Vanessa Hutchins was spotted out with a new man recently.
But before we jump into that, guys, if you have been struggling, maybe do find the right
Valentine's Day gift.
You want to buy something nice for your boyfriend.
I just had a great experience with Hawthor.
I filled out their personal quiz myself.
I picked out the things that he liked.
I knew that it would be kind of a surprise and see what he liked.
It's the perfect Valentine's Day gift.
Hawthorne is personalized and thoughtful and smells really good.
It's personalized to you or whoever you're getting the gift for.

you want them to try it. I filled out this quiz, got it scent, gave it to my boyfriend. He loved
all of it. He's so excited to wear this new cologne, this new shampoo conditioner is great. The

C-O.
Vanessa Hutchins.
Talk about moving on.
Yeah.
Vanessa Hutchins and Austin Butler.
Yeah, good one.
Vanessa Hutchins and Austin Butler broke up, as we know, last week.
So it could have been sooner than that, but we found out last week.
They were together for nine years.
We had a bad feeling about this.
And now Vanessa Hutchins has certainly moved on with Kyle Kuzma.
Yeah.
So Vanessa and Kyle Kuzma were spotted on Tuesday.
They were having a fancy dinner in Brooklyn at Lillia.
You know, that fancy pasta place that everybody posts on Instagram.
And, you know, TMZ has pictures of them.
Obviously somebody in the restaurant took pictures of them.
And it seems like.
Like, they're just maybe having a good time hanging out together.
And then she went to the Lakers game Wednesday night.
They played at MSG.
And she was there rooting on those Lakers.
Selfie slide.
Full selfie slide.
Yeah, she posted multiple pictures on Instagram at the game.
And she's clearly just owning it.
Also, she's just owning Instagram.
She posted such a hot picture earlier.
Like Vanessa is really diving in.
in here. You know what? And you know what? Maybe.
Yeah. Good. If it didn't work out with
Austin Butler, it didn't work out with Austin Butler.
I wanted it too. I was rooting for them.
But clearly they just
Vanessa Hutchins is also, I feel like
every time I look at her Instagram, this
is not meant to be an insult.
But like, and I see
she has almost like 34 million
Instagram followers. And every time
I'm surprised by that. I don't know why.
But she like, she is
a mega famous. But
I feel like, I
I feel like not everybody knows who Vanessa Hudrens is.
It's kind of like, well, I don't know, because I'm obviously Selena Gomez is way bigger,
but at one point Selena Gomez was the most followed person on Instagram.
Right, right.
And to me, that was outrageous.
Yeah.
Truthfully.
Like, what did you think that was normal?
No, it didn't make a lot of sense.
It didn't make sense.
But I, maybe not.
I feel like I'm less aware of Selena's international.
presence. Like I think Selena has a massive international presence. And I don't, does Vanessa Hutchins? I don't know. Who knows? Maybe people really just, I mean, high school musical was really big. I think it's all the Disney and like, Arna Grande, Selena Gomez. They're all like. Right. That's true. I mean, that's fans for life. Like I. Yeah, yeah. You know, I loved high school musical when I was, I don't know, eight years old, how old I was. And I still love high school musical. So, you know, I still love high school musical.
so I'm still a fan of those people.
Yeah.
We'll see what happens because the Lakers play the Nets tonight in Brooklyn.
So maybe if Vanessa is showing up again for night too.
She lives in New York?
I don't know, but I would assume she has, I would think maybe she has a spot somewhere.
And L.A.
This is perfect.
I feel like she's been in New York a lot recently.
So it's very possible.
Yeah.
And what, hey.
Time to move on.
Right.
It feels like it's soon.
See, now the Charles Melton theory is out the window.
So people started thinking that maybe they were together and then they were commenting on each other's pictures.
Yeah, yeah.
She was commenting on heart.
So people are like, ooh, what does this mean?
But clearly nothing.
Yeah.
And also, you know, not to make this super petty again, but getting photographs.
on a date with an NBA player, like right after a breakup, you know.
It's just better than, just show that you're moving on.
Right.
You're a hot commodity.
Don't take me for granted.
Maybe she was feeling like she was taken for granted a little bit.
I don't know.
This could be not like, you know, we're automatically assuming Austin Butler was in the long.
Austin Butler could be crying at home right now.
Yeah, he could be so upset right now.
Yeah.
I like Austin Butler.
I'm going to choose to keep liking Austin Butler.
And then when this Elvis film comes out,
I'll really decide if I like it.
We'll say.
That's very true.
That's very true.
But I feel like a fun, fun fling with an NBA player.
Great way to just jump around.
He's, um, he's young.
Like they're not going to be boyfriend and girlfriend for life.
No, no.
Let's be real.
He's 24.
Yeah.
This is, this is screams rebound to me.
Totally.
That's a fun rebound.
Wow.
We're crushing it today.
Wow, I didn't pick up on that until you said it.
I didn't get it either, but that's how good it was.
That was a good one.
And I'm embarrassed for both of us that we didn't, that we really didn't pick up about it.
I'm embarrassed.
I said it, but it was a good one.
She's getting that rebound.
My stupid mind has got me in trouble.
I said too much again.
Do a date over to turn to yesterday.
Let's see.
was offended.
She said, well, anyway,
I'm just dying
for a subject change.

All right.
Let's talk about Jessica Simpson and her new memoir.
So Jessica Simpson has released a new memoir about her life.
It's called Open Book.
Great name for a memoir.
Great name.
Yeah. Open book. We'll be better than that. I'm about to tell you everything about my life. I'm an open book and here's my book about being an open book. Open book. Great name. A plus name, Jessica. Yeah. But she talked about John Mayer. Yep. And this will be fun because we got Noah, Noah, John Mayer, super fan. And some interesting comments made about him. Yeah. So obviously every story that's been picked up the publicity for the book.
is building because of this story that obviously was was given as the excerpt because it is it is juicy.
She talks about her relationship with John Mayer when they met in early 2005 and that after she divorced
Nick Lechay in late 2005, she began dating other men, but she writes, mayor told her he wanted to
have all of me or nothing. She said he'd walk into a room and pick up his guitar and you'd
swoon. I didn't really know the man behind the guitar and that was my mission.
They dated in secret for several months and she fell in love with his intensity.
Again and again, he told me he was obsessed with me.
Sexually and emotionally, she writes.
And then it goes on to say that she worried that she wasn't smart enough for him.
She said, I constantly worried that I wasn't smart enough for him.
She writes he was so clever and treated conversation like a friendly competition that he had to win.
and that she would have her friends check her text for correct grammar and spelling when she would
send to him because she didn't want him to be disappointed in her that she would be messing up text.
She said my anxiety would spike and I would pour another drink.
It was the start of me relying on alcohol to mass my nerves.
So that's kind of sad.
It's really sad because it makes it seem like her relationship with John Mayer like sent her into a downward spiral.
Right.
And it seems like she felt she really needed to.
to live up to John Mayer and whether or not he had these expectations or not, I don't know,
but she felt like he did.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Because we don't know if John, yeah, we don't know if John Mayer.
He probably wasn't even doing it on purpose.
Maybe he didn't even say, hey, Jessica, you know, like maybe he didn't mean to be like
you spelled that wrong and it just comes out the wrong way.
And now she's just thinking about it constantly.
But it's still sad regardless.
She didn't feel like she was, you know, smart enough for him.
She did feel like she was good enough for him sexually.
I'm saying. I feel like she felt that he built her up, like, physically so much. And that was it.
Like, didn't really build her up as a person. But she said, while Mayor made her feel powerful
physically, she also felt insecure around him, feeling like she always had to win him over after
one of their many breakups. I'm thinking about having a conversation with John Mayer and he's,
he's treating it like a game that I have to win. And I'm not, I don't mean to laugh, but like,
I'm just thinking about that.
Like we've talked about it before how interviewing John Mayer would be the hardest thing ever because he is so smart.
And he speaks in such an intellectual manner that I don't know if I'd be able to compete.
So I totally understand just not even knowing John Meyer at all.
So imagine actually being in a relationship with him.
They were just clearly in two very different places at the time that they were dating.
Right.
Like he was like the, the back.
boy and she was just she was just trying to keep up the the memoir seems like it is going to be
very very intense she's talking about a lot of things that she hasn't talked about publicly
her history of anxiety emotional pain a lot of it coming from sexual abuse that she survived as a
as a kid as a young girl which she then later like numbed all that pain with alcohol and
and drugs and all these different kinds of things.
But she has been completely sober since November of 2017.
And it seems like this was, like you write about these experiences.
You write about this relationship with John Mayer.
Hopefully that's like a healing process for her.
It might suck for John Mayer to read these things.
I would think maybe he wasn't even aware of how she felt.
maybe. I think now
he's aware. I'm saying
at the time. This is where Noah steps in.
I'm saying at the time when they were
together. Now, now this is where you
step in to talk about John Mayer has become
a changed man. Cue.
Well, he, I mean, he has.
You've seen him like he's. I think he tries
to be overly nice to everyone
to make up for the fact that
he was not a good person. Right.
Well, obviously, a lot of this
and Jessica talked about in her book as well,
she said he loved me in the way that
he could and I love that love for a very long time, too long.
And I went back and forth with it for a long time, but it did control me and that their contact
ended after his comments in the 2010 Playboy interview.
Now I got to look up like interviews and pictures of them from when they were dating.
Did you ever see the video of when John Mayer like basically held a press conference about
breaking up with Jennifer Anston on the street in New York?
Yeah.
No.
I have seen that.
It's classic.
Yep.
I've never seen that.
So he had called her, what did he call her?
Sexual napal.
Oh, right.
That's, oh, boy.
She said he thought that was what I wanted to be called.
I was floored and embarrassed that my grandmother was actually going to read that.
A woman and how they are in bed is not something that has ever talked about.
It was shocking.
He was the most loyal person on the planet.
Wow.
He was the most loyal person on the planet.
And when I read that, he wasn't.
That was it for me.
I erase his number.
He made it easy for.
me to walk away. She said,
although they are no longer in touch, she says, I know that he's publicly apologized
and I don't want to take that away from him. I think he knows a lot of this about me already,
but he doesn't know the perspective I have as a woman. That was just in her 20s.
If you look up sexual napalm, like the definition on Urban Dictionary is just all Jessica
Simpson and like dash John Mayer and damn.
Yeah. See, these were things that we just, we weren't following.
following pop, you know, to, I mean, I was 10 years old.
Exactly, too young.
I thought I remember that, though, because I was a fan.
Well, no, 2010, I was like 16.
Even then, I feel like I didn't even know what he was talking about.
I probably had not a clue.
Wasn't paying attention to John Mayer and Jessica Simpson's sex life.
You didn't care about their sex life at the time.
Yeah, that's understandable.
She didn't like it.
That's like when Ariana Grande said that when Big Sean was rat.
about her vagina.
It was a problem.
I mean, that's...
Her Nonna didn't appreciate it.
That is quite invasive.
That's not really something that you just do on your own
without, you know, maybe consulting the woman before you do that.
Yeah, John Mayer, he definitely has changed, I would say,
because we haven't heard him talk like this in years.
And also, he's afraid to say anything.
He says it all the time on his, when he does live streams.
He's like, I am afraid to speak because I know it's going to get quoted.
Yeah, it's very true.
All right, that wraps up today's podcast.
We hope you have a fantastic week.
We love you guys.
Once again, we'll be back on Thursday with our Bachelor recap like usual.
More than Kobe Bryant.
There is no one.
Okay.
I'm doing work.
Two-four on my shirt.
He's the greatest on the court.
I'm the greatest on the verse.

I'm just lost for words.
I mean, he's amazing.
Pass me the damn ball.
I don't need to pick at all.
And I don't worry about my shot because I'm going to get that off.
Yeah, I drop 40 on your double teams.
Then I drive it.
And I don't take breaks.
I just break records.
And I prefer the ball.
He's the court to me in my eye, the best score in our league.
And it's, I mean, I don't know if it's not another guy in his league that can accomplish some of things that he's doing.
