I love you very much. How's your day going? You know what? It's been nice. I am back at home. I am in New Jersey. I really just came out here because my dad was making his homemade French onion soup on Wednesday night. And I was like, well, I got to go home for that.

So I went home. And then today, Thursday has just been like such a horrendously disgusting day that it was like, do we want to have to go back to this city now? Like that seems tough. So we did not. I ended up saying. So I'm recording from my childhood bedroom on my mom's laptop because my computer died. So I have like OUVU, like Ria nailed it.

It's like OU quality video right now because my mom has this like, like, dinosaur laptop. Right. It's very reminiscent of the Ovu days. When you go on, the picture's kind of blurry. You got your childhood bedroom in the back. It feels good. Big time.

Big time. But other than that, it's been, it's been nice. It's, I don't get to be in this house too much. My parents aren't here as often. So it is, it is nice. And honest, obviously to see my dogs, I don't get, you know, getting, getting some snuggle time is the absolute best. and the French onion soup was delightful, really quite good.

I ordered French onion soup in honor of your dad today for lunch. Because I was feeling left out and I wanted to feel like a part of the Mariano family. So I ordered it. Well, we all had it for lunch day because we had leftovers for lunch today as well. Now everyone's ordering soup again. I have watched way too many episodes of Summerhouse in the last two days. I did nothing on Wednesday besides, well, after. the group chat and some work we did in the morning. After that, I sat my ass on the couch and said,

I want to binge watch a Bravo reality show right now. I've seen Housewives of New Jersey. I've seen Housewives of Beverly Hills and I've seen Vanderpump Rules. But there are so many other good ones. What do I want to watch? I went with Summer House and I do not regret it one bit, although I did start on season three because many people were like start on season three. That's when Hannah and Page come in and they're great. And that's what I did. And I watched all of season three in one day. Sickening. Honestly, sickening, but also amazing at the same time. Like, I did not move my ass from that couch at all, at all. Hank came home and he was like, what is this? What is going on? I started- What's happened? I started pegging fights with him about stuff that happened four years ago

because I was watching so much drama happen. He was like, what's going on? I was like, oh, I'm just feeling feisty. I feel like I want to fight with somebody. This shows got me hyped up. I feel like I want to start fights with you for no reason. Like there's a camera in this house. But yeah, we took one week to the new Borat movie, but then we got back to Summerhouse after that. And damn is it good. I've been missing out this whole time. I feel like people are going to be pumped that I finally watched. I think you need to watch. I think we just need to go all in on Bravo shows this year. We just got to watch it all because I realize now what I've been missing out on. And Summer House,

is really good. The drama's good. The relationships are good to watch, clearly because I did not move. I watched the entire season. There's been so many, like, there's been so many times. And I guess it's just because I had never really gotten into the Bravo shows when I was younger. So like I didn't have it like already established. And so there was and then there were so many that I was like, oh, God, I know how I am with reality shows. When I start one, I'm going to be like fully addicted and watch all of it. And that is, I mean, I'm making my way through. I really like, I talked about it. I didn't do Beverly Hills. I watched all of Beverly Hills in quarantine.

I've, I'm now on season eight of Real House of New Jersey. Very proud of you. I really just been cruising. I think New York is going to be my next. And then after that, we'll be where I go, either Summerhouse or below deck, I think. Go to Summer House. Go to Summer House. Let's do the next one together.

Let's do Real Housewives in New York together, not actually watch together, but just start them together. So maybe we could talk about it on the podcast. Yeah. And then do Summer House. And then we could watch Below Deck. Yeah. All right.

Let's get on the same page of Bravo shows. That sounds like a good plan. That sounds a good plan. Oh, my foot's falling asleep. I'm just going to shake it up. My foot's falling asleep. But we have, oh, it's, it's Halloween weekend. So if you are dressing up for Halloween, good for you.

Because these bitches got no plans. Oh, actually, wait, Fran, you might be dressing up. I think I am dressing up. I purchased the items for the costume. So I think we're going to do it anyway. You sound very enthusiastic. Well, it's like, I don't know. It's, it's, I'm excited to dress up, but it's also funny because, like I said, not too much to be doing.

So, but I'm excited for, it's an easy thing. I think Joe and I are doing Dewey Finn and Miss Mullins from School of Rock. You know, I don't need to get into it. My boyfriend loves Jack Black. No, it's actually something we do need to talk about. Your boyfriend's obsessive Jack Black. Like School of Rock is like his favorite movie ever. And honestly, I'm shocked he has not done this costume before already.

So we're doing it. And Miss Mullins is super easy for me. Like I feel like I've got some big major principal vibes in me. You absolutely could pull off a principal. Like when you said that costume, I was like, you know what? That's perfect for you, Fran. And I also love that you like to go to the. creative funny root and a lot of people go slutty on Halloween, which of course, you know,

go slutty or go home or go funny or go home. I really, I really appreciate. Well, that's, that's what you got to do. You either go all out, like tits out like fucking look high as hell or you better be funny and people laugh. And if you're like somewhere in between, fail, fail your Halloween. Boom. Right. Exactly. No, but I always appreciate the ideas that you come up with for Halloween. I always think they're very creative and outside the box. And I think that this is a good one. I don't think anyone's going to be that. So I'm proud of you and Joe. Really, really getting out there and showing your love for Jack Black. Thanks. And then honestly, I'm probably just going to buy some candy. I feel bad for all the kids with trick-or-treating, man. It's like,

it's like, can they trick-or-treat? Can they not trick-or-treat? Like, are some people to try to try to trick-or-treat? Like, are kids going to try to trick-treat? But like, nobody is going to open their doors? It's just kind of, it's depressing to think about. It is depressing to think about. I do feel bad for the children. I'm happy. I'm not a child right now, but it's also, you know, rude to say that because we feel bad at the same time. Such a wasted Saturday Halloween. You finally get Halloween on a Saturday and this is, this is where we're at. It sucks. Well, I- It's a full moon. Oh, spooky. I actually-hocus-pocus. I actually hated when Halloween was on weekends when I was a kid because I went to Catholic school and they would give us the next day off because it's all Saints Day.

Yeah. But they don't do that anymore. So I'm actually happy that I'm out of school now because you don't get that day off anymore. So I'm, I bet the kids are happy that it's on a weekend. Yeah. I think the weekend Halloween has got to be the best one. And now you just got to wait a whole other cycle for it to come back around sucks. Right.

Sheena Shea announced that she's expecting a baby, another Vanderpump Rules cast member, added to the list as well as Emily Radikowski. and we'll be talking all about our guy Harry Styles,

who released a new music video for Golden and a beautiful, wonderful, heartwarming story where his car broke down and a dad led him into the house and made his daughter's dreams come true. So let's get into it, starting off with the Kardashians. As you all should know, Kim Kardashian turned 40 last week, and she threw herself a huge party

on the beaches of Tahiti, and she brought her closest friends and family with her, and she posted about it on Instagram, and for some reason, people are shocked. For some reason, people haven't comprehended that the Kardashians are not normal people, and they are not going to be operating like we are. So, Fran, why don't you read this caption

from Kim Kardashian on her birthday post? Yeah, so, okay, obviously, you know, this goes viral, and I don't, I just can't, you can't criticize sometimes the Kardashians for, I mean, obviously you can. Anybody can criticize them. But it's just like they live in a whole other stratosphere than us. Like it, it is unfortunate that we are all in the situation that we are in. And they have the privilege of going on trips like this.

But that's just what. rich, famous people can do. It's ridiculous. It is what it is. So she posted on Instagram, she said, 40 in feeling so humbled and blessed. There is not a single day that I take for granted,

especially during these times when we are all reminded of the things that truly matter. For my birthday this year, I couldn't think of a better way to spend it than with some of the people who have helped shape me into the woman I am today. Before COVID, I don't think any of us truly appreciated what a simple luxury it was

to be able to travel and be together with family and friends in a safe environment. after two weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time. We danced, road bikes, swim nor whales, kayaked, watched a movie on the beach, and so much more. I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now. So in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is.

Hashtag this is 40. Now she's right. At least it's in the caption that she understands. that basically the 99% of this world cannot go on a trip like this right now and don't have the privilege of, you know, multiple health tests and quarantining and then getting flown to a private island. But Kim Kardashian can do it. Exactly. And I just feel like people need to come to terms with the fact that the Kardashians are going to be able to do stuff that us normal people can't. And yes, you can be jealous because that's what everyone is. And, you know,

and that's where the hatred comes from is from jealousy. Because why else would people be mad? Truthfully, I understand like traveling during a pandemic and, you know, you don't want to get anybody else sick. But if they're saying they're doing multiple testing and they quarantine beforehand, I'm going to believe that. I just believe that they definitely do have this. And I'm sure they flew private and had everything organized. He rented the. Oh, they rented like a seven, seven.

Yeah, like a seven 47. Yeah. And on top of that. Yeah. Yeah. Just an insane private jet that everyone is safely boarding, I'm assuming. They're getting all these tests done. And they're also on an island that nobody has had corona there. And they said that they were happy that, you know, the people on the island were happy they were there. And I just feel like people get really mad because they are jealous. But if you just accept that this is what the Kardashians are able to do, then you will no longer get mad. You will just, understand they're in a different place in all of us. And what do you want them to do? Do you want them to sit home and be sad like everyone else and be stuck inside or whatever it is when they don't have to be? Like it's it's it's not our lives and it sucks. It sucks. We can't do what they can do.

But that's the reason they're the Kardashians. They got the money. They got the fame. It is what it is. Yeah. And if they were like, if Kim had thrown some massive party with hundreds and hundreds of people, and, you know, with no regard to what's going on, that's irresponsible. You can't do that, 100%. But if she, if they went through everything that they said they did with testing and quarantining and, you know, spending the money, flying private, doing what they were doing, to go to this island that was apparently in Tahiti. And Chloe was on, I think Chloe made an appearance on the Ellen show and was talking about it

and said that the resort that they were at, you know, the people there were so excited to have them there because tourism has been so down. So they have been struggling and they were excited to have people there. So it's like if they can safely do that, like if they're making sure because like she had said, you know, allegedly TMZ had said that this would, they went somewhere where there were no cases. You just obviously would think that, well, God forbid someone on this trip. brings COVID to this island that has been free of COVID up until now, up until, you know, then you have a problem. But if they went, like, if they really rigorously tested and quarantine and did everything

that they needed to do before going on this trip, then it's just like, that's what they're going to do is just. Right. And I, I, the Kardashians are dumbasses. Yeah. They're not stupid. As much as people want to think they're stupid. They wouldn't be where they are if they were stupid.

So I do not think, I choose to believe that they are not lying to us when they say they went through all of these steps to make sure it was safe. Because otherwise it would be extremely selfish to bring Corona to a place that didn't have it. Obviously, that would be fucked up. And if that happens, people are going to be pissed rightfully so. Rightfully so, yeah. Rightfully so, for sure. But as of now, I choose to just believe that they did it safely. I'm not shocked at all.

I don't know why people are shocked. I don't know why people are choosing to get up in arms about people who just are not living in the same real world as the rest of us. And people just really get outraged at the car. Yeah, people just get outraged at the Kardashians too. Like, this is a terrible example. But like, if you follow Kalin and Dean on Instagram, those two are traveling all over the place. They're like out in the same kind of out in the Pacific and these tropical like these beautiful islands at these beautiful places. So they're clearly traveling and, you know, they're taking, I'm sure, the precautions that they need to take and getting tested before they travel and all those things like that that you hope people would do before they're traveling anyway.

And so it's like, well, they're, you know, going to these islands and posting on social and doing all these things. And it's just like the level of fame. It's just the Kardashians are so it's just they're under a microscope. Every little thing that they do is criticized. Yeah. And I think it's something to note that Kim Kardashian made it very clear in her caption. I know this is not something other people can do. Yeah.

I am humbled by this experience. I know that this is crazy and it's not what everyone can do. but I just, I think people end up getting mad because just what rich people do. Right. What are rich people supposed to do not spend their money? I think people get bitter because they're not them. And instead of getting bitter, get better. No, I'm kidding.

No, but I just appreciate the trip for what it is. And they all looked amazing. It looked like they had a nice time. You know, we got picks of Scott and Courtney out of this. Devin Booker was there. So at least there's some, I don't know. There are some things to unpack about. the trip. One being the fact that Devin Booker did come with Kendall Jenner and we saw it in the

back of pictures that were posted on Instagram. We saw them in the background. He was also on a list that was included about the people attending this trip. So that's, that's exciting. Hey, Kendall, good for you. Right. Because that's 100% at Kendall Jenner plus one. Because if you look at everybody else who was there, they're all like Kim's very close friends and family. Um, would just also like to throw in there that I do appreciate that Kim is clearly still friends with like her friends from high school you know like I think that's very cool she brings them on these trips you can tell like you're going through these pictures and there's always like a big group shot of her and her girlfriends that she had kind of grown up with

and I just appreciate that because it means that somewhere in there Kim is able to have friendships with normal people, which is sometimes impossible for people with a lot of fame, especially if they're, especially if they're like, you know, very obnoxious or whatnot. But she's still friends with all these women and they were on this trip. And I don't really think Kim necessarily has a relationship with Devin Booker. I think that's a Kendall thing. So Kendall is bringing Devin Booker because, because you know, like, Fye was there and things like that.

But, like, I also feel like FI is close with everybody in the family. I is close with everyone in the family. He's a family friend, but this was definitely Kendall's plus one. We know that there's no questioning that. Also, we've been getting pictures of Courtney and Scott together, closing all cute bike rides, this, that, the other thing. I'm not going to go down the path where I say I want Courtney and Scott to be together because we all know that's what we want.

So you know what? I'm just happy to see some pictures of them. Right. You just like to see the pics, exactly, because we know that that's already, we've said it so many times. People know where we fall on that. It's just like the pictures just put a smile on our faces because it's just, you know, it's a hope is alive.

Right. And notably missing from the trip was Kylie Jenner, who who knows what she was doing, but she was with James Charles doing a makeup tutorial that I did watch. Right. So it's like, I think hopefully that's a sign that they did take traveling seriously. And because Kylie was working and had things that she was doing with other. people, she didn't travel to the party, you know, to the birthday. Exactly. Exactly. We're looking on the bright side here. I hope so. I hope so. You guys know we're all shopping online.

I'm really happy for Sheena. She talked about, she opened up about, you know, suffering her miscarriage and going through that, which is so, so awful. And especially being surrounded

by her castmates who are now like all pregnant. I can't imagine what that was like when there was so much joy around for them and it must have been harder for her and and there has been some drama you know it seems like she and la la have kind of had a falling out recently um you know that la la had didn't reached out to her and then la la put her on blast um on instagram as well and that kind of seems like that's over and that with stasi they basically have agreed to just like have no relationship, you know, be cordial when they see each other. But other than that, like nothing, nothing crazy. But with Stasi pregnant, Lala pregnant, Brittany pregnant, now Sheena is pregnant.

It's just we've said it before. We'll say it again. Celebrities. And I think, you know, not even just celebrities, regular people, everybody was just getting horny in quarantine. This was the time to have babies. Everybody's pregnant. Emily Radikowski announced that she's pregnant.

beautiful, beautiful, like, photo spread. She's not shocking at all that she's like the prettiest pregnant person ever. We're talking about pregnancy with Megan Trainor. Like everybody's, everybody's, everybody's pregnant. I'm afraid I'm going to get like infected with the pregnant like, I swear to God. Pregnant people stay away. I don't want it. There's been so many pregnancy announcements from celebrities that it's making me like nervous. Same for no reason. Because I know I'm fine, but, but I, like the last time I got my period, which was not to be detailed, like last week, I was just like, oh, whatever leave? But then I was just like, why am I? I'm worried because I'm seeing all these celebrities kept pregnant. Right. And Kate, who works

with us and now that she was pregnant. And then all of a sudden, we talked about this. We're like, holy fuck, like, let's please not be pregnant. Yeah. Let's just, let's just not have that happen. But anyways. And let, look, it is. Congrats to you if you are. No. I absolutely love babies and I can't wait to have my own babies, but down the line. Right. Definitely. Definitely want to have kids. But now right now I'm way too young and irresponsible. Can't have that. Yep. Exactly. That would not be the responsible thing to do right now. Anyways, congrats to these people. Congrats to Sheena. I do hope that she gets on a, you know, maybe on a better page with her friends here that are also pregnant. Just so that they can help each other along. Or maybe if she doesn't click with them, maybe that's not what she needs in her pregnancy.

Maybe right. It's just like Vanderpump rules. Away from these people. Yeah. It's just like, what is this next season going to be? Vanderpump rules baby edition. Sossie won't be on it. No, we won't be seeing any of sassy, but Lala, Brittany, Sheena, all pregnant. All pregnant. And like you said, Emily Radicalski, beautiful, beautiful pictures. Oh, my God. So gorgeous. Just unbelievably beautiful, obviously. And we're just happy for these people, but we don't want them ourselves.

It's just like, and right. It's just like. So many beautiful pregnant people, you know? Everyone's beautiful, Fran. Morgan Stewart is having such a beautiful pregnancy. It's like, I really hope we could only be so blessed to like carry our babies in, in our stomachs, you know? Like, they all, they're still so, their faces are still so skinny. Like, it's like, it's incredible.

It's absolutely incredible. They're all glowing. They're honestly glowing. So, so beautiful. Just can't wait for all these babies to be born. What a phenomenal week for Harry Styles. I got to say, it has just been one thing after the next. First, we got the Golden Music video, which I got goosebumps just thinking about it again.

He looks so good. First off, Harry, I love you, baby. Second, the Golden Music video chills throughout my entire body. He's running around Italy. Oh my God, the things he does to us. Harry Stiles should not be legal, although he also should be like the only man on this earth. Like, Harry Stiles is number one.

He really is. He's just, he's a blessing to everybody. And of course, this music video was fantastic. And we've been waiting for any sort of music video from Harry Stiles. Any way or shape or form that we can see him, I would like to see him. Also, I'd like to throw in here real quick that we've been seeing a lot of rumors about his movie that he's doing, Olivia Wilde's movie that she's directing with and he's, uh, with Florence Pugh. Who now is might be single. Who now might be single. Yes. That was one thing. And the other thing was that there are rumors that Shia LaBuff was so difficult on set and didn't get along with Florence Pugh and basically gave Olivia. Wilde and option and said it's mere Florence and she was like see ya and brought in Harry

style so you know what thank you Shia above well well this is wait okay I think this is the timeline if I can follow from what Dumois had said on Instagram it seemed like Shia and Margaret Qualley did that music video and that was like Olivia Wilde and it went so bad that like the their situation like Shia was um It was not he was not good to work with. It was like all around disaster. And that Olivia Wilde was wanting, thought about casting Shia in this new movie. And Shia had said like, I don't want to work with Florence Pugh thinking that like I'd see.

The rumor was this is all alleged, of course, because this is from Dumas on Instagram. Harry Seyle's car broke down in front of a very nice family's home, it seems, where this girl's dad, or this girl's dad's friend, actually, invited him into their home, made him a cup of tea,

and clearly told Harry that the daughter was a huge fan of him. And he wrote a note to her and also, fed her fish and also took a picture in her room feeding the fish because she wasn't there. She's a huge Harry Seiles fan and she wasn't there. My heart breaks for Theodora is her name because she came home to a photo of Harry Styles feeding her fish and a note that said, Theodora, my car broke down on your street and your dad's friend I really need to know the background of the story. I really do.

And your dad's friend kindly let me wait at your house with a cup of tea. I'm devastated that we miss each other. Looking forward to meeting you soon. And then he just wrote and oh, treat people with kindness. Thank you, Harry Siles. Always a good reminder. And he said, all the love, Harry S.

And if my, if that happened and my parents, like I got home and one of my parents said that to me, I'd be like, you're, you're fucking with me. Like what, that's just a blatant lie. Like, did you, I'd be like, did you forge these notes? Like, some elaborate prank. But photo evidence.

Like he has a legitimate picture in the room of him feeding the fish. So it really all happened. So I'm just thinking of Theodora because in one hand, that's amazing. You have this picture. It's just an amazing moment that you'll have forever. On the other hand, you missed it. You missed it. You could have taken a picture with Harry Stiles sitting on your bed with you.

We were not remote because we, it was definitely, I remember like sitting next to him. And so we get it to work. I come out. It was like we were in a separate room. It was almost like it was TV.

Like we weren't doing our podcast. It was like we were doing this on TV, but it was our podcast because we were like classic dream situation where it's like, well, it was your house, but it wasn't your house. Right. Like it was kind of like how we interviewed the George brothers were like I would have been in the other room like trying to get my mic to work while you were out

there sitting at the table. And finally I get to work and we go out and we're talking. But then we also had like some, it wasn't even a person. There was no face. Like I don't know who this person was. We had a girl that was like working for us that kept jumping in and asking him questions. And we were like, I'm, Harry, we're so sorry. Like this girl.

Like it was like, oh, that's embarrassing. That's the most dream of all time though. It was a dream dream. It was a great dream. There was a girl, but she had no face. It was like so, it was so unprofessional. of us that it was like that's what was haunting me. But at the end,

I feel like he would be the coolest guy. No, at the end, he like invited us to his show backstage, you know, the whole thing. I'm going to cry. Yes. But anyway, he just really seems like such a great person. And I also love that, you know, we've talked about it so many times because it's so hard not to talk about now because they really have all the juicy stuff. But for people who send their celebrity encounters,

to do ma'a. I feel like the general consensus is that everybody really only has good stories about Harry Stiles. Yes, and also I've seen hilarious TikToks of him where people run into him, and he's so cute. He did a double wave once. He was like, bye guys, and then he kept running and then turn around and waved again. And you have to watch it to really appreciate it. But he's just adorable and seems like the best guy ever.

We are here with a very, very special guest, Megan Trainer. Welcome to the show. Thanks for having me. I'm so excited. This is so cool. We're so excited and we got to say you're behind a Christmas tree.

We know you're Christmas. We're recording this on Thursday, but it will be out Friday. So your album is out now, a very trainer Christmas. How long? Yes, she's got it in her hands. How long have you been in Christmas mode? Oh, since the idea was brought up in like July, June, something, August, we finished it. So it was quick. But yeah, we were hot, very hot, very hot, very hot summer out here in the valley in Los Angeles.

And we had Christmas sweaters. I did the whole album, basically, the only humans I saw were my two. brothers who live with me. So we had a great time. It was great. You have a great setup behind you. You have a Christmas tree up. It's October, but you know what? That's completely fine because I feel like right now more than ever we got to get in the Christmas spirit. Why not? Let's get started early. Like love Halloween really do. Love scary movies. I watch those year round. But it's too dangerous to trick or treat, man. I think it's too spooky right now for so many reasons. So I'm just skipping it. I'm going right to the holidays, Christmas.

Yes, you definitely are. The album is fantastic. There's nothing I love truly more than Christmas music. Like I normally, it's true. I normally try and stay with a strict post- Thanksgiving. Then I dive into it and have my Christmas playlist on loop. But when we're just absolutely graced with new Christmas music, Like, you can't deny it.

Like, you know, you just can't say no. So you've already had two songs from this album come out. And my kind of present, which is an original. Yes. And last Christmas, which we obviously all know. And there's just, you have to listen to them. It's just like you've got to go into the rotation. You can't wait.

Christmas time is already here. And my kind of present is really great. I want to know, like, what kind of pressure is there to create a, original Christmas song because it's hard to do um I didn't I don't know my all my confidence in music is songwriting that's where I like survive and I feel like because like performing and wearing outfits and doing that is so second like new learnings for me oh I can't speak she pregnant um but like songwriting is what I've been doing my whole life so I knew I'd write some awesome like pop Christmas songs that got everyone smiling or giggling and that's kind of like

my music anyways, like all about that bass and lips are moving. They're like sassy, fun, old school, but have like an important message. So I tried with this Christmas. And one of my favorite things that people say is like, oh, your song is haunt me at night. Like, I can't get them out of my head. And I'm like, Christmas. Like, that's all I want. So we're all laughing here today because I keep singing holidays, which is an original I have feature Earth and Fire. And we're like, damn, that one's infectious. Like, that one is so catchy. So I would. I didn't have a lot of pressure on myself. I knew it would be fun.

Yeah. And like you said, when people say, like, the music haunts you, I would say that, but in the best way possible, your songs are super catchy. Even when we were telling somebody, oh, we're interviewing Megan Trainor. And they're like, oh, my God. Actually, it was my dad. I was on FaceTime before. He was like, oh, all about that base.

I was like, yep, there you go. Oh, my God. I had this weird connection with dad. That sounds terrible. But people are like, my dad loves you. like of all ages. I'm like, yes, dad knows what's up. That's awesome.

And you mentioned that you started working on this album in June, July. Was this an idea that popped up during quarantine and you just were like, let me write a Christmas album or was this something that you were planning way before that? There was a phase. I was like, I was shooting the voice UK. I was in London. And it was either, okay, we're getting to treat myself out, my last album. And then we're like, okay, we're going to go do the fourth album or what are we going to do after this?

Or I was supposed to go on tour with Maroon 5. And then I was like, I'm going to have a baby right after the tour. But then Corona hit and we're all quarantined. And I was like, is this a sign? Like, we're going to be trapped at home. We shouldn't make life. So we plan on making a baby right away. And then at the same time, we were like, oh, you know that Christmas album we were always going to do?

Maybe now is the time. Maybe now is like we need more joy, especially in the beginning of quarantine. all my neighbors started putting this up. And I was like, like Christmas lights. And I was like, oh my God, they want Christmas. I hear you. So I was like, this is the time we should do it. And especially this Christmas, I didn't know it'd still be going.

No one did. So it's going to be sad. It's going to be a little dark and we can make it bright with a few songs. Yes, absolutely. And on top of that, like you also got to make this album and put songs on here with your family. Like you got your cousins, you've got your dad on here. Talk about how is that experience. Like, is your, do you get your singing from your dad or is this just like a, hey, dad, I'll throw you on the album? I get my music and the love for music from my dad. He performs, yes, but his voice is questionable.

He says, as long as you're having a good time, the audience will have a good time and that's how he got away with it for so many years. You know that. He taught me. But yeah, I had him play. He's so good at playing piano. So he played piano for Have Yourself Merry Little Christmas. And I get to cherish that forever. Like, it's so magical to me.

It's like a picture, but I get to hear it forever. My little cousins came over. We tested them because I was like, I need a kid's song. I need one song to be like, here's for the kids. So we did Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, and it's so adorable. They were like sitting on my lap. I was Santa. And then my brothers were like the only songwriter.

I was willing to see because I know they were safe. They're in my house. And we have a studio here. So my younger brother produced for us. And my older brother is the lyricist. He helps me be cooler than I am, you know? So I'm like, there is this weird.

And he's like, that's fine. He's very, very good temperatures. So that, yeah, it was a great distraction, a great family bonding moment. I had my older brother take all the pictures for the album and he killed it.

And then we were great. We did a family shoot together. This was a nightmare. but it was great. We're all sweating. It's like June. Yeah. That's honestly the, I feel like the best part and so funny, even like just off topic,

but like fashion, they'll shoot winter in the summer and summer and the winter or whatever it is. And it's like that. It's like you're putting on, you know, Christmas pajamas. They called me to do the album October. I laughed and was like, no, when are we doing the album though? And they're like, October. I was like, okay.

Right. It's just like that's when new, that's when new Christmas music comes out. So it just makes sense. Like whenever the stores change, like when Michaels is like, okay, it's Christmas now, that's when my album has to be there. You know, like, all that stuff. And I was like, oh, that's why. Yeah.

The marketing team, they know what they're doing. Yeah, they're doing me. I'm just like, okay. Exactly. You just have to know when it's time to. And it happens. earlier and earlier now, I feel like stores put out the Christmas decorations. So you got to have the music going along with it. And what an amazing Christmas for you guys. Like you, I know you've been quarantined. But like you said, I think a lot of celebrities' plans changed or, you know, artist plans changed being in lockdown because everybody's having a baby. Everybody's having a baby. every human being, every celebrity's having a baby.

I thought it was the only one. I was like, this is going to be sick. And then I was like, we're all doing it together. It was crazy. There's a boom for sure happening. I mean, we're all trapped inside, but I used to cry to my team and be like, when can I have a baby? And they're like, whenever you want.

But just know, we're going on tour. We're going to do this album. And I'm like, well, when can I have a baby? This moment of like, oh, we have to cancel a tour. And it's not your fault. You know, it's like the one. world is shutting down. I was like, oh, and pregnant me right now. Like, our time. This is our chance. And we did it. And then everyone was like, yay. And I was like, oh, my God. No one's mad. You know,

it's good. Yeah. He was good to me. Congratulations. And you mentioned that you were having a boy, right? Yes. It's a boy. It's a boy. Was there. Yeah, exactly. But I also feel like, I don't know if this is like a question that is hard to answer. If you don't want to, you know, maybe offend your baby when it grows up, but did you want a boy or girl specifically? Dude, everyone asked me that. I don't know. I know.

It's such a hard question. I think like naturally girls, I don't know. I think naturally girls are like, oh, I want girl. I know girl. And guys are like, I want boy. I know boy. You know, like all my bros were like, a hobbiton boy. And there's a lot of boys in my family.

but and then I did all that research that's stupid research that's like oh if you're like if your hips go out first it's a girl and if the heartbeat is so fast it's a girl and I was like oh my god like I made a girl and I'm so sold and then at 12 weeks you can do a blood test nowadays which is bonkers and you can see what the gender is and when she called us I was like just tell us and she's like what do you think and my husband's like we think it's a girl and she was like actually it's like bull And I was, I was so in shock because I was so sold that it was a girl that I, it was like being told you're pregnant all over again. I was like, oh yeah, I forgot. It could be a boy. And it was like beautiful. And I had to adjust my mind of like, it's not a girl. It's not as a boy. Yeah. We're so, how excited is Daryl, your husband for this baby? He did say he was, because I told him like, it's a girl. So he was kind of relieved, he said. He's like, I know boys. I could do a, I could have a son. Like, he's like, a girl kind of scares me. And I'm like, I get that. That's okay. But I, I want, like, I want twins next. I want. Right. So we're just excited that it's finally start.

Our family is finally starting. That's awesome. And you mentioned that you said multiple times, I just want to have a baby. I just want to have a baby. When can I have a baby? Is that how you've always felt? I feel like some people, they're always like, I want a baby. And some people are like, no, please no. Right. I'm only a little bit younger than you, Megan. And I'm like, not there.

No, all my friends, my age, I'm 26. All my friends are like, absolutely not. I'm not in the right. I'm not where I want to be in my career. I'm not in the right mindset. I don't have the love of my life yet, especially out in Los Angeles. I found a rare one. So I married him immediately.

But it's crazy. None of my, I've no friends right now that are pregnant. But I think they've know I've always wanted to be pregnant and I've led them a whole life. And recently in my 20s, I started walking by diapers just crying, thinking like, why am I not bringing them home with me? Like I went to my therapist like, what's wrong with me? And she was like, you're just mothering your child already. Like you're so in love with the idea of your child that you're already their mom. And I was like, uh,

So this is one of my bucket lists. Like this is my moment. So we're really excited. Oh, that's so sweet. Brian, the hormones are getting me, man. You're going to be an amazing mother. You really are.

I don't think I've talked to somebody who was this passionate about. You know what I mean? People are passionate about it. But like you're all in. Some people are a little nervous or, you know, there's some speculation. I know, I was like, is it weird that I'm not like panicking or terrified? Because everyone's like, oh, have you had that meltdown yet? I'm like, oh, no, a human life is coming.

And I have to, like, protect it. I'm like, dude, that's my new best friend. We're going to have the best time. Like, I just can't wait to hang out with him. That is so amazing. Like Ria said, we're so excited for you to be able to start your family. It's kind of a weird, like, blessing with everything that has been going on. But I want to also ask you about your relationship because you and Daryl are like so

cute you've like known i feel like we i wasn't really aware of you guys dating i think until like you know engagement megant trainer's getting married and it's like and we're like oh my god junie from spy kids what's going on like i'm saying they found out today that they're they're married yeah it's so funny did you how many times did you watch spy kids as a kid because i feel like spy kids was especially for our age like when spy kids three came out and it was like 3D and it was like the first 3D movie you could go to. It was next level. Higher.

Yeah. We were at the movie years every time. That was like our movie. I got Spy Kid toys for Christmas. I was a spy. Like when we would play Manhunt and like hiding C, we were like, we were full spies.

Like that was my whole childhood. It's a crazy thing though when I like started coming to L.A. as a songwriter, he and his friends crashed one of our like big songwriter. parties we were throwing and I was like oh my Christ it's by kids I freaked out and he was at the drinks and I was like so already there that I was like I'm gonna go talk to and I don't care and I don't get star-struck I don't embarrass myself that much but I went up right up to him was like are you spy kids and I was like I was like I'm Megan you're a hero and then all night that night

I was like, guys, watch this. Sparkey's! And he was like, Megan! And then two years later, I'm pop star, Megan Trainor, and we're set up on a date by Chloe, Grace Muratz. And I was like, oh, my God, I hope he doesn't remember me.

And he claims he does remember me. And what's also crazy is I wrote a love song called Hope was Romantic. That was like, I bet I already met you and you're already at a party before. And you were sweet, and I just missed my chance. And so that was our song that he played

while he proposed to me. water i i just love this story so much because if yes yeah this is a storybook like fairy tale wedding situation we have got going on i honestly just love the fact that you brought up spy kids to him because when we were talking about you and preparing for this interview friend was like we got to talk about junie from spy kids like we're like here where is he we go get him just in And it's just, well, because also I was telling Ria and our producer, too, like, ever since he posted the video of him dancing at your wedding, like, I go back and watch that every so often because it's so good.

It's so good. You an amazing dancer. Get over here. Hi. We got Spy Kids. We were talking about Spy Kids. Yeah. I grew up with that.

Yeah, first of all, congrats. Oh, my God. Thank you. We made a little a spy kid. Yeah, a little spy kid. Oh, maybe you can have another movie come out with your kid. I don't know. I feel like I'm pushing the limit here, but I'm just saying.

I know. Like, what does he? What's he going to be? We want to tell him all the secrets. Definitely. Eating him in the beginning, he still had his gap because he got veneers now. But it was really tough to be like, oh, I'm making out a little Junie Cortez. Like, I had like, like he's 25.

It was 25. Like, I don't know. It was weird, but it was cool. That is. L.A. L.A. change you. You got the veneers? I made him get him.

I thought it changed her to change me. I was like, because a lot of people when he was doing auditions, they're like, we just still see Junie Cortez. And I was like, bro, it's your gap. Love you. And we were just dating. And so people thought I was crazy because I was like, I'm going to gift you these veneers. Like, let's get veneers.

And they were like, but he's just your boyfriend. I was like, but if he ever leaves me, I'll pull them out. It was clasible. Yeah, this is me being like, you're mine, you know? Yeah, so it was planned. That's so funny, because it is like when you're dating someone and it's like if there is a breakup

and you kind of go back and give each other back your stuff to be like, hey, man, give me your teeth, yank them out. All the time. I was like, you can't leave me now. Oh, my God. If you lack and then you got to put a ring on it. Yes.

So you did the thing instead. He's so, my dad. My dad jokes are coming. His dad jokes are coming. and strong and it's... I love it. Well, Fran wanted to talk about the performance at the wedding. You're both right there.

Since you're both right there, I've got to ask because I, me and my mom are obsessed with music and lyrics. Like, I've watched the movie a billion times. So when I saw the video, it's really performing. Up goes to my heart right now. Like, is this real life? Like, what is, was there a connection for that movie with you guys? Yeah, we love it so much.

Well, you introduced me to the movie. I was like, you don't know this movie. Get ready for the best music you've ever heard and the best love story ever. We both balled our eyes out. And I was like, after I proposed and she said, yes, I had, you know, like not that much time to get everything together.

Because I knew I wanted to do something special. I also forced him for the wedding. She did again. I said, I performed for you every day because he went on tour with me. I'm like, I give you a show. I'm not performing at my way. but you should perform for me because he also plays guitar and sing so I was like give me a show

it's my turn to sit back and relax and watch the show you went above and beyond I just I love the element of surprise so like we love music and lyrics she loves it so much and so I was just like taking notes I'm like okay I got to like do something with this song it was all our favorite like love songs yeah I love it it was so great that song is so great now no no Christmas out no Christmas song for you guys? Christmas song for us. What do you mean? I'm seeing backgrounds on.

Oh, yeah. Yeah, like is, like, was he, what, did you have any? Because I feel like you live together. You've been obviously doing, uh, your created, you live together. You're married. You have this, um, Christmas album coming out. And I'm sure Daryl was there for the making of, of the album. I was asking like any contribution.

Yes, especially because I was pregnant the whole time. He was running, eating the food and walking. and singing backgrounds anytime I asked. So he was your assistant a little bit. Yeah, lover assistant. Just, yeah, the nurse, the hydration station. The makes for you sit down because my feet are, I was like large at the end too.

And he was like, today is the first day. I really saw your belly, like while you were singing and you look pregnant and it's so cute. It's awesome. Oh, you guys are so cute. Seriously, you guys are so cute. Yeah. A lot of couples, like, have struggled in quarantine, but, like, we're just grosser and closer.

Gross. I know. I know. It's true because people, we've talked about that, too, you know, we are both in relationships. We both have boyfriends. But people have asked us, like, oh, God, have you gotten sick of each other yet? And, like, the funny answer is just be like, oh, yeah, you're so annoying. But we're both like, oh, my God, we have our boyfriends so much.

The best, it's the bus. It's like, those are the cheesy things we're like, you know, when do you you know, but that's like, if you lock me in a room with him for 24 hours, I'd be pumped. Like, I didn't want to rip his face off, you know? Right. All the single people listening to his interview are going to want to jump off a bridge. They're going to be like, these people are way too happy. Like, if you're going to marry them, I don't know, like, make sure they're your best friends.

He's my best friend. Yeah, it's, that's amazing. You guys are really so cute. Our producer spends so much time up there. I grew up going to Martha's Vineyard.

You grew up in Nantucket. And I'm just, like, what was that like growing up there? Because I've just, I've never really met anyone that's been like, who live there full time. I know, people don't believe me. They're like, no, but nobody lives there. And I was like, oh, there's a school. Like, people survive there.

I've never got to show him. of Corona and because it's like too aggressive when I go back. It's too like it's a place where you don't lock your doors or your house. So people would just walk up and be like, where's the Megan trainer? And I was like, oh, I'm not coming back. Love you. Oh, if I were leaving, I was like, don't know me. It's a, it's a great.

It's a, you know how you hate where you live and then you grow up and you're like, oh, that was awesome. It's an amazing, very special, unique place to raise a family. And I'm grateful I grew up. there. It's also, what's the word when you don't know things? Sheltered? Yeah, it's like I didn't know, which is a blessing. I didn't know Taco Bell for the longest. I didn't know. I had all my first real life experiences when I was like 1920, which was the same time that Alibaba, the base blew up. So I had to grow up in like one year and figure it out. Um, what else,

mom? She's looking at me like, what did you go say? Oh, year round. it's very depressing because we have winter we have it's cool yeah yeah it's new york it's boston it's freezing and we're by the ocean so we get that wind that just slaps you in the face um so there are a lot of like you start drinking at a younger age you do there's more drugs there it can be very very dark luckily my family was number one and they were they always took care of us and um i don't i don't know i just had really good parents and really good grows and we knew like let's not be stuck here. It's also a place where you can really get stuck there and like, oh, I'm just going to stay here and I can't live in the real world. I just got to

live in Antucket. And we were like, let's fly as far away as we can and like be new people. Yeah. But it's beautiful. When you were growing up, did you think to yourself like, damn, this place is really sheltered or were you kind of just like, this is what I know. So I'm not even thinking about it. That's all I knew. And I remember being like, I hated that it's such a beach place and I was so insecure. I didn't like, all my friends were in bikinis and like getting their pictures for Facebook on the beach. And I was like, mom, please let me work at the jewelry store so I don't have to go to the beach today because I don't want to wear my tankini and my big oversight ticket. Like I just didn't belong.

I wasn't like supposed to live on an island. So I was different, but it was great because I got to go hide and do my music, you know? Right. So the insecurities pushed me towards my talents. And like now it's been the best. Well, that makes it, it must have been even harder in that adjustment where like all about that base blows up and now you're like a pop star and you had not a very calm life where like you didn't really like all of a sudden you're a pop star.

Like how was that transition? You went from that to, you know, a Grammy winning vocal. The weirdest part was the like makeup and hair and extensions. I didn't dye my hair before I was 19. I didn't, I don't know. I didn't, my mom is like so naturally pretty that she just slaps on some foundation like in the car and then mascara and like that's it for her. So at all about the base on the video shoot when they started painting my eyebrows and I was

like, what are you doing? Like I was like, makeup doesn't go there. And they're like, oh, honey, like we're going to do your makeup. And I learned so much. I learned what Spanx were. I learned what a corset was for that video. That sucked. I learned like, I was like black leather, like,

look slim and cute and a songwriter and I'm a hardcore. And then they're like, in all about the bass, I was dancing and I was in pastel. And I was like, is this a character or something? Or am I gonna be this forever? Like, I didn't know fashion so I couldn't speak up and be like, I'm not wearing this. So that was like the hardest part

of becoming a pop star. And then instead of singing in front of Nantucket beaches with like 30 people at a restaurant, it was like arenas that are twice as big your entire island population. So that was like, oh, wow. And I just kind of faked it till I made it. I kept being like, I don't know what I'm doing.

But you clearly did at the same time. I told something right. I told there last night, I think personality and having a good family will get you the farthest in your career as long as you have those two things, you can pretty much fake anything, you know? Absolutely.

Well, and also having a good family and having, you know, a good partner and things like that help you stay grounded because the fame can get to you and you need like your brothers to be like, hey, you're like not as cool as you think you are right now. I've always lived with my bros, especially during the pop star phase. I was like, I need all to move to L.A. and be my roommates.

I think I never, I still get shocked if people are like, can I have a selfie? We're like, and most of the time they recognize him only. So they're like, ma'am, could you take our pick? And I'm like, I'm going to kill you. So I still, I think because my bros were like, they still will pick on me or ground me. It's the best to have. Yeah.

Keeps you humble. We're so humble. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sure. Yeah. Yeah. Oh, my gosh.
