This is state of emergency.
What's up, everyone?
It's Chicks in the Office with Brea and Fran, giving you that Friday energy on a Wednesday.
We are back from our long weekend.
We hope everyone had an amazing weekend.
Memorial Day weekend.
Hopefully, you know, you got a nice barbecue.
you, maybe you saw the beads, you got outside a little bit. Maybe you went to Italy. Who knows?
The world is our oyster. Francesca, how are you going? I'm good. I'm just getting back. The time thing is,
you know, probably the hardest part about that trip where I left Italy at a time that was like
technically, you know, 7 a.m.
Like I woke up in Italy and I'm here now, but it's, there's just, I've lived so many
hours in this day.
Look, I've just gone back in time.
And it's a long, long day, but I had the best time.
It was so nice to see my brother.
Milan is such a cool place.
I really, really loved it.
Got to do a little lake day trip.
and obviously ate a ton of amazing food.
This, Maria, when I tell you about this.
When I tell you about this risotto that they have the Milan,
it's like the classic, like, Milanesea risotto.
It is so fucking good.
Like, I almost had risotto for like every meal for like four days.
Like it was so much, but so freaking good.
It's just, it's just.
it's it's just insane i was seeing your stories and i was so jealous of first of all you went to
blasio which yeah you you go there pretty much every year right and it's it's so gorgeous
and your stories made me so jealous that i wasn't there and on top of that the food that you were
posting like you and bridget and your brother had like the best time ever um i was so jealous but
also so happy for you because there's nothing better than escaping to a place and truly forgetting
that like your your real life exists right like you were probably in one million percent you were
probably in Italy like wait a second I got to go back home but you forget that there's a whole other
world that exist when you are on a vacation like that that is a place you would that I would go to
to disappear like it really is where you could be like I could just I could start a whole new life I
just, I can just ever, my only problem is, I just need my Italian to be like a little bit better.
It's, nothing's worse because I have the Italian name. And so I go and people ask you my name and I tell them and then they automatically assume I can speak Italian.
And so then I, then I'm like, the loser that's like, oh, no, I can't really. And then they're so, they look at me with such disgust.
They're like, oh, how could you not speak Italian? I'm like, I don't know. I'm sorry. That is the worst part about.
our names. I feel like we get that often and you say your name and then they say something back to you
in Italian and you're like, no, I don't speak it or because my name's Maria, sometimes people think I speak
Spanish too. Yeah. So it can go either way and I'm like, ah, no, I don't, I don't really, but it looked like
such a beautiful time. It was nice. I got this, um, I got this bracelet in this shop that was like
this cute little gold. Like it was literally the smallest little room and this cute window with all
these custom, like nameplates, necklaces, bracelets, like initial rings, things like that.
And I'm looking in the window and I'm like, oh, Francesca, there's a Francesca in there because when
is there ever a Francesca? Like, you go to like the souvenir stores as a kid. I always get so
frustrated because like the things that always had everyone's name would never have Francesca.
So I immediately walked in and this cute little old man, Alberto was like he makes all the jewelry.
And then he was like, my wife, her name is Francesca.
And I was like, I got to buy it.
So I bought it. It's so cute.
But it's just like so funny because Bridget was with me.
And he like asked me my name.
And then he was like, asked her her name.
And she was like Bridget.
And he goes, oh, no, too hard.
No.
That's not, I don't know that one.
No present for Big Ray.
No gold.
You know?
There wasn't a Maria or else I would have.
There was not a Maria.
There was no Maria.
No, it was a very small.
election. Like it was insane. They had two bracelets and one was like Francesca and one was like
Brianna, like it was not Brianna, but it was like some kind of, it was a name to start with the B that I forgot.
The other one was definitely Maria and you just left them there. No, I really didn't. I, you know I would
have brought it home. There was, he had a really cute. This I did almost buy you, but it was like,
it was, it was, it was cute if it was on a different chain, you would never have worn it. He makes this little
gold-plated
doxin
like pendant
and it was so cute
but it was on like a
it was on like a string
like it was like not
you I looked at it was on like a gold chain
yes yes
if it was on a gold chain
I 100% would have got it
but it was on a blue string
like that looked like
oh yeah right now
I was like she would never actually wear this
even though it's so cute
yeah but no
it's a thought that counts
Yes, but it was just so, like, it's just so funny.
Like the, literally he looked, Bridgett and went too hard.
It's like, okay.
Pretty simple name, but that's all right.
Yeah.
I was at the Jersey Shore because I became a Jersey Shore last year.
Yep.
I love it.
You are a Jersey Shore person.
And the Jersey Shore is great.
Yeah, it was fun.
I only went for one day, though.
Didn't do the whole weekend.
You know.
Was it busy?
Oh my God.
So busy.
My one goal on Sunday and the people I was with, I said to them, I texted them in the morning and I said,
if I do not get a hot dog today, you're all at fault.
You're all at fault.
But I did get a hot dog and I got some cheese fries outside of DJs.
It was glorious.
Have you been to surf taco?
In Jersey, at the Jersey Shore?
Yeah.
Yes, I have.
Okay.
Good.
Very good.
I saw a couple people posting from surf taco this weekend.
I was like, fuck, I want surf tacos.
Like nothing like being in Italy and being like, shit, I want serve tacos.
No, no, you're good with the Italian.
I was like, I'm definitely good, but I fucking love surf tacos.
But I got a little, uh, I got a little jealous of your Italians who didn't.
I made spicy vodka sauce from Slack last night with tortellini.
Oh my God.
You know when you make something and you're like, okay, it's good.
it's going to be better next time, right?
Yeah.
This I can't improve.
It was so fucking good.
Like, I shocked myself.
I tasted it and I was like, oh, my God, this is amazing.
Like, there's no, because usually when somebody cooks for you, it tastes better, right?
Totally.
But I was blown away with myself here.
Like, I honestly, I was really excited about it.
I got like this like cooking, cleaning, working out bug all of a sudden.
and it might be because
good for you
the weather no it's more so because I've just been
laying around for too long
and now I'm like you know what
the weather's nice it was hard to get
it was hard to get back into it after the West Coast
shows I would say like that
did it for me too like coming home like I was like
fuck like I'm not
I'm not moving around as much as much as I should be
right we got to get it moving but
yeah being of West Coast shows our first
San Diego blog, our first vlog of the West Coast tour, went up on YouTube. It's amazing.
Natalie did an amazing job from start to finish. It's about 30 minutes long, a little less than that.
So I would say it's like a full episode of a show. And it is truly a TV show. The ending was so funny
to me because I think the next blog, like you see how happy we are in this first San Diego
vlog. Like we are chipper. We're at the zoo. We're doing the segways.
Everyone's young and spry.
And then you get to the end of the vlog.
And it's Natalie and Noah fighting.
And then we go to Arizona.
And I will tell you that Arizona was a very contentious vlog.
It's well worth the watch.
Like you've got to keep up with this series because the way this roller coaster happens,
this five-part series is so worth it.
So make sure you go to our YouTube, subscribe and watch the first part because you are not.
trust me, you are not going to want to miss the second part of it.
It's some very good, very good Sunday night viewing.
Natalie does such a good job with these vlogs.
They're so good.
They're so funny and like so well done that I, they're, I watch and I like forget that it's us.
Does that make sense?
Like I watch it.
I'm like, wow, this is so good.
And normally I hate watching myself in anything.
And I'm like, I'm like, this is actually very entertaining.
And I catch myself being like, damn.
what happens next even though I was there?
Yeah, I hate watching myself too, like little clips and stuff or the podcast.
I can't listen back.
But when it comes to the vlogs, I'm thoroughly entertained.
And I think it's because of the way they're edited, you really capture, you capture every moment.
It's, and Noah, I'm sorry for what's about to come, I guess.
I'm fine being the bad guy.
I'm fine being the bad guy.
I just want people to watch.
I feel like we know, like, how many people listen to this show, and it's like, doesn't translate to YouTube for some reason.
So, like, you should all just go click the link in the bio and watch it.
I agree with that.
Right.
Go, go watch the vlog.
We know that you guys are watching other people's vlogs on YouTube.
So why not watch ours?
And then we can become your entertainment on YouTube because trust me.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's get into the topics for today's show.
Oh, I have one thing to admit.
I forgot I wanted to say before we do get into the topics.
I have a confession.
I watched marry me on the plane, the J-Lo Owen Wilson movie,
and I didn't hate it.
I actually thought it was kind of cute.
And I really thought I was going to hate it.
And it wasn't as terrible as I thought it was going to be.
That's really all I wanted to say.
So you liked it?
Yeah, I think I liked it.
Like I caught myself smiling at times.
Like I was like, oh, fuck, I think I like this movie.
Do you think you liked it because you liked the plot?
Or did you like J-Lo and Owen Wilson?
I think I liked it because I liked the plot.
I did not really like Owen Wilson.
You could have truly put anyone else in that role.
I think I would have liked it so much more.
I guess it made sense it was Owen Wilson.
But I just, I don't know.
I love J-Lo.
Like, she was so cute in it.
I just, I liked it.
I'm a big, I like the big, uh, big,
and a regular person make it work.
Yeah, yeah.
But it was, it was cute.
It's like you and Joe.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Performing sold out MSG shows for my beautiful singing voice.
Oh, man.
Oh, that's funny.
One more thing now that you just reminded me,
seeing a lot about Top Gun and Miles Teller,
I want to remind everyone that Miles Teller is married to Kay Lee Sperry.
Yep.
And she also wanted to remind everyone by posting a TikTok of her writing hubby.
And it was just a compilation video of Miles Teller because I think she realized how many people were obsessing over Miles Teller.
Like my full TikTok for you page is people making fun of Austin Butler's accent.
and people obsessing over Miles Teller.
Quick story once upon a time when we first started Chicks in the office.
I don't even think we had a podcast yet, or maybe we did.
But it was in the very beginning.
I was obsessed with Miles Teller.
I really loved Miles Teller.
And then it was announced that him and his wife now got engaged.
And I posted about how upset I was on Chicks in the Office.
And then she commented and said, let's go get a beer and talk about it.
And I wrote back something.
that I can't believe I wrote this back.
Like, I would slap me in the face now.
And I wrote back only if Miles comes.
Funny comment, but fresh.
Just a little bug I was.
But funny.
Yeah.
No, I know that.
That is objectively funny.
And you didn't like, you didn't know.
Okay, we actually just found the comment between me and Miles Teller's wife.
I was actually way nicer than I thought.
I thought that I like kept Jordan simple.
I probably was afraid.
And she wrote, let's grab a beer.
You may have overspoken.
I don't, yeah.
I actually wrote too much back to her.
I should have run with my original comments.
Yeah.
Yeah.
She wrote, let's grab a beer and talk it out.
I wrote, care to come on our show to discuss.
You can obviously bring Miles too.
And then I wrote, by the way, a big fan of you as well.
Like I love.
And also like the way you wrote it like in parentheses, like parentheses,
Prentices BTW, big fan of you as well, end parentheses.
Like, I was so scared.
I was trying to be respectful.
Yep.
Hey, actually, I'm glad I was more respectful than I remember.
No, that was very nice.
That was very nice.
It was a very nice thing, a very nice follow-up for sure.
And so, yeah, but it's a big top gun.
I got to go see it.
I rewatched, actually.
I watched the original over the weekend for the first time in a while.
because my friend Bridget had never seen it.
And we were talking about how everybody is talking about how good Top Gun Maverick is that.
I was like, oh, fuck.
I got to do a quick little refresher.
My dad's a big planes guy.
He's been begging us to go to the IMAX to watch, to see this movie.
And I've been away.
My sister was away.
And so now we're going tonight when everybody's listening to this.
We got tickets for Wednesday night.
Do you know that they flew their own planes?
Yeah.
That's not edited.
I did everyone do that or did some?
Because I saw people, some people were saying like some did and then maybe Tom, I don't know.
It's pretty much.
I'm not in the business of figuring out who did and who didn't.
I'm not thinking they all flew their planes.
I know that Tom Cruise did and I think I saw Glenn Powell talking about like getting his license or something.
But I'm not sure.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, it's crazy what they do for those movies and how much they get into it.
And so now I'm very excited.
But yeah, it's a good moment for Miles Teller.
It's a good-looking cast.
It is a great-looking cast.
All right.
Okay, topics.
Topics.
Let's get into it.
We're going to discuss what's going on in Utah mom-talk world because that also has been popping up all over TikTok, a lot of swinging going on, cheating, divorcing, very scandalous.
Becca Cuffrin proposed to Thomas.
Yes, you heard that right.
Becca Coofran is the one who proposed.
At a girl, Becca.
Yep.
Justin Timberlake sold his entire music catalog for $100 million.
Margaret Qualley is engaged to Jack Antonoff.
Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian were posts in pictures all over Instagram stories, pictures and videos.
And there was a very strange interaction between Drake and Addison Ray, where he posted.
a Photoshop picture of Addison Ray's hands, and she tweeted about it.
So we will dive into it, starting off with the Utah Mom Talk.
We all know life can be overwhelming, and many people are burned out without even knowing it.
You may be burned out, and you have no idea you could be really tired,
you have a lack of motivation, you just don't feel like doing anything at all.
And you're like, I don't know why.
I don't feel like doing anything.
It could be because you're burned out.
You could feel helpless trapped, detachment.
Sometimes you're like, am I even here?
hear all these symptoms of feeling burnt out could arise in your life. And that's where
better help can help you out. Sometimes, you know, you don't know who to turn to. You
could talk to your friends, you could talk to your family, but getting somebody on the outside
looking in can really help. And that's why Better Help Online Therapy wants to remind you and
help you prioritize yourself by talking to somebody that can help you figure out what's going on
in your life. Better help is online therapy that offers video phone and even live chat sessions
with your therapist. So you don't have to see anyone on camera if you don't want to. Sometimes people
feel awkward on camera with somebody they never met or, you know, the stress of finding a therapist,
it could be very expensive or just meeting somebody in general or you're very busy and you can only
find time to just hop on your laptop or your phone really fast. And that's where BetterHelp comes
into play. It's much more affordable than in-person therapy, which like I said can be very
expensive, sometimes insurance doesn't cover. It's a whole thing. BetterHelp is here to help you out.
This podcast is sponsored by BetterHelp and Chicks in the office listeners get 10% off their first month at
BetterHelp.com slash office. That's B-E-T-T-E-R-H-E-L-P dot com slash office. So this Utah mom talk drama
really swooped me in this weekend. So much so, I took out my laptop and opened up a bunch of tabs
trying to piece everything together because you can't just scroll through TikTok and like read
all the TikToks about it because you can't piece everything together. So I was like,
all right, we got to dive into this. I'm glad you did because I definitely saw things about it,
but did not follow closely. Okay. So this very popular Utah mom, Taylor Frankie Paul,
announced that her and her husband were divorcing. Her husband's name is Tate. And so more or less,
she apparently cheated on Tate with another Utah mom's husband. But the tricky part here was that
they were soft swingers. So that means everything but sex. And so they were,
were soft swingers when everyone was present. Like you had to be present in the room. Very strange to me. I don't know. Listen, to each their own, but I can't get on board to that. Anyways, they were. So basically she, quote, unquote, stepped out and cheated, but they were soft swingers. So it wasn't like she was only hooking up with her husband anyway. Apparently, and this is all a legend.
because I honestly don't know what's true, what's false.
It's just information I've gathered.
Apparently, her husband was also hooking up with the wife of the guy she cheated with.
Right.
So they were swapping.
But they weren't swapping with consent in the room.
They were swapping behind each other's backs.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, that's a big no-no.
I'm pretty sure.
That's a big no-no.
Basically, what she had gone on to say,
I'm not exactly where,
exactly sure where she did,
said that she was a part of a friend group of moms and husbands
where they all swing with each other.
The other moms went on to say that they don't,
that they are not into swinging.
And that is not what they do.
I saw that part,
that the other moms were saying,
Taylor put this all out there to cover her affair,
to be like, oh, well, we're all swingers.
This is where it loses me because the girl Miranda
went on TikTok and said that her and her husband Chase were not involved.
They're not swingers.
Another girl, Camille, also claimed her and her husband are not swingers.
I don't necessarily believe that they're not swingers.
I just think that maybe they don't want the world to know that they are swingers,
maybe because they have kids and they don't want their kids to grow up one day and see all these things online about them being swingers.
Yeah.
And because what would
what would the girl Taylor have to lose
to say all of that
if she was already getting a divorce?
I guess to be like, oh, it's fine
because everybody swings and everybody cheats.
Yeah.
I think you could see it from the point of view
of you drag everyone else into it
to make it seem not as serious.
However, I do feel like this could check out from just the original story of just like how this happened.
So you don't have the first ringers.
No, I do.
No, I do.
I'm saying like I think like the original version of this story might be the most accurate.
Yes.
I kind of, I, sue me, I think I believe the main girl.
Right.
She's saying that her husband was swinging.
She cheated on her husband with the husband of the wife, her husband was swinging.
Right.
Right.
Yeah.
So technically, I guess it's cheating if they're not around, but if they're already
hooking up anyway, this is, this is the thing.
Yeah.
There's hard rules in the swing.
There's hard rules, hard rules and swing.
Yes.
And it depends on what agreements they have in place and how that's figured out.
Like, did you see the one.
Alyssa had re-shared it, publicity reshared her story of somebody wrote to her who is a swinger
and was like, obviously keep the synonymous.
But like, I engage in this and my relationship.
and like here are like my rules.
It's like there's no there's no kissing.
But like my partner will watch me like go down on another guy.
Like I don't.
It's clearly people have their specific things that they like and those are discussed
and rules are followed.
And if those rules are broken,
the whole system they have created falls apart.
Right.
I could also imagine.
a scenario where you're doing everything but sex. Yes. And they're like, oh my God, they're so
curious now what it's like to have sex with them. So then they go behind the back and cheat.
Also, like to bring up soaking in the Mormon world. Do you know what that is? No.
So soaking is a way that Mormons, and listen, I don't want to, if you're a Mormon listening to this,
I don't want to sound like I'm generalizing here because I'm really unsure of just about everything.
I don't know. I don't know anything about about Mormons really honestly at all.
But soaking is a loophole for Mormons because some Mormons, I think, don't believe in having sex, I guess, or maybe I don't know if it's before marriage or whatever.
I don't know the rules of that.
And I think everybody's rules.
Definitely not before marriage.
I think everybody's rules are different.
But soaking is a loophole or basically a guy sticks his penis in a vagina and just leaves it there.
And there's no thrusting or any movement happening.
He just lets it soak in there.
It's called soaking.
Can't say I understand the appeal of that one.
This is what's, this is what people are learning about now.
Soaking.
Like what is what is the end results there?
Like what are you hoping happens at the end of that?
I'm reading an article right now.
So how common is soaking really?
Mark left the Mormon church when he was 14 years old.
And so he says he'd only learned about soaking and jump humping a few months ago.
But he's not that surprised it happens.
There are so many elements to religion and Mormonism that
are just not conventional.
So it's
it's
probably common.
Yeah, I just can't.
I, I, I,
I truly don't know enough
to speak on it, I feel like.
This is where I real, I read out.
Soking is a loophole.
Many Mormons apparently used to get around
the no sex before marriage will.
And he doesn't thrust and he just
days still the couple oh this is where things get interesting the couple may then get a third person
to jump on the bed known as jump hunting oh i create motion yeah yep that yep yep so that makes
sense this is cheating i've heard heard of it like yeah yeah totally it's probably easier just to thrust
yourself. It's probably easier
to just sin.
In the eyes of God, though,
they're doing what they...
In the eyes of God. I can see the person
jumping on the bed. It's not like that
that guy magically fell onto the bed.
Like, they asked him to jump.
That's almost worse than just doing it.
Like I said, I just
do not know enough. Some Mormons
say sometimes it gets to a point where they
just can't help themselves. So soaking
is what happens. No
thrusting, because that would
be sex. But if you put it in and sit there and you don't move, it doesn't count.
That's pretty wild. That's pretty wild. Very interesting. Yeah, I feel like this story really
took over a lot of the weekend, which goes to show I feel like how how much like big news
was going down this weekend. Like this was all over the place, all over Instagram, all over TikTok.
I feel like everyone was talking about it.
And it's like, I feel like even for them, like the people in this story must have been like, really?
Like, really this is going to blow up to the level that it has?
Well, I think it also blew up because it's so out of the ordinary for people because it is a religion and a community that people are interested by because.
the rules are so out there, you know, like people really can't wrap their head.
Like, I can't wrap my head around this soaking jump-humping rule.
I really can't.
But Mormons are like, yep, I can wrap my head around it.
So I think that's also why people got really interested because it's just something we haven't
seen before or don't see often.
Right.
It could also be a pretty minor group, you know, like this could be the,
minority of people.
You know what I'm saying?
It could be.
It also could be a lot of people not on the issue.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's true.
I just think of like people taking viral
stories of other religions and then like saying,
oh, well, it must be everyone.
And it's just like it's not everyone, you know?
I don't think it's everyone.
And I think most people would be hopefully far enough
to realize it's not everyone, but I also think, yeah. Yeah, what a wild, what a wild story that was.
So I, any, has there been any, any updates on like what their, her TikTok's gone.
Yeah, okay, okay. And people don't know if they were still active or not. Yeah.
It's been quiet. Yeah, I guess that makes sense. I probably need a break after that too.

In some surprising news, Becca Kufrin proposed to Thomas this past weekend.
Took me by surprise.
It certainly did.
these two have been a, I would say, surprising couple to continue.
You know, like the way the show, the way the season ended for them,
you probably wouldn't have predicted that they would have worked things out,
but they have, they've been very cute on social media and clearly spend a lot of time
with each other and really love each other.
and Becca posted like he said yes and they did this whole photo shoot and he's wearing a ring and
you know, Thomas posted as well total a surprise.
I'm not quite sure when exactly like I don't know if she did it this weekend or like if it happened
before because in her caption she had said, you know, we kept this secret from from everyone
except like close friends and family.
So I don't know when exactly this went down.
But look, at first,
you see that and it's like
is that something I would do
it is not
do I see myself doing that
no I do not
for her
I don't find it as shocking
only be like because
this is now her third engagement
the two before
have
one was a disaster
Ari who
oh okay okay
Arii
yes
I forget about Ari.
Like, Ari fucking proposed.
So that's like her first engagement ever.
Ari proposed.
Then we have Garrett.
We know that both of these relationships did not work out.
And this is Tom, like this is another bachelor relationship.
Thomas is also a guy from the show.
So it's like, this is not a guy from the outside world.
This is another guy within Bachelor Nation.
And so I can see at this point being like, you know what?
I'm going to fucking flip the script because I don't need to get proposed.
to for a third time from somebody else in Bachelor Nation, I am going to be the one to propose.
I love the points that you brought up because I did not think of it like that at all.
I did not think that much into it.
I thought kind of how you said would never do it, but good for her.
Like if you want to do that, go ahead.
I would never do that.
But when you lay it out the way you did, it makes a lot more sense.
And I actually think it's great for her to flip the script.
my one thing is does she get an engagement ring?
That is a great question.
I would hope so.
Like I would hope now,
I don't know.
But also like maybe she doesn't want one.
Maybe she's like, I fucking had them and I'm over it.
And we'll get married and you can get me like a sick wedding band.
That's true.
We could ask her that.
Yeah.
Also, what I love is that now he has to wear a ring.
because something I find very interesting.
Pretty smart, huh?
People get engaged.
Only the girls walking around with a ring.
And the guy's all free looking all single.
Now Thomas has a ring on his finger.
I thought that was a, that's a very funny part of it too.
It's like people will probably just assume he's married, which is great.
Like it's like, oh, he's already got the ring.
They're ahead of the game here.
I just, I love Becca so much.
I think she's so great.
So like I'm very, very happy for her.
This is so not how I thought this couple was going to work out.
I think everyone on Paradise was kind of like, wait, this is, this is a real thing here.
And I think because like I said, Ari Garrett, you want things, you just want like Becca to have her happy ending.
And that's why I kind of love that she was just like, did it for her.
herself. It's like, you know what? I'm just going to make this a new memory. I don't need to
like compare another engagement to my other engagements. Like, oh, Thomas proposed and it was different
from how Garrett proposed and it was different from how Ari proposed. Like it kind of takes away the whole
stereotypical bachelor nation element proposal where like he could have done it on the show or
could have done it like a paradise moment where like. A paradise moment where like,
they get engaged or something like that.
It's just her doing her thing.
But yeah, definitely a surprise for sure.
But I'm happy for them.
Like you said, it's very much a good for them.
Will you see me getting down on one knee?
Anytime soon?
No, you will not.
Yeah, good for them.
And I also love how much Becca believes in love, right?
So do I.
He hasn't given up.
And I don't think anybody should give up.
And I love how...
She took matters into her own hands.
He keeps going.
You're right.
Exactly.
This was some random news.
Justin Timberlake sold his entire music catalog for $100 million.
And one might say he should have gotten way more.
Yeah.
I guess I didn't even think about it like that.
To me, it was surprising because I just...
feel like every time we see a story like this, it's the opposite.
Like it's an artist wanting to own their own music.
And this was just like a reversal of where he's like, nope, I'm going to, I'm going to sell my music.
And maybe it shows that he's just kind of like done with that part of his life.
Is he ready to make that?
I mean, $100 million, nothing to scoff that.
But you're right.
Yeah, I feel like if that number,
was 500 million, I would have, I would not have blinked at all.
Exactly. And I think, listen, I may be sounding greedy for Justin Terplake saying he deserves
more than 100 million. And yeah, 100 million is nothing to scoff that. And I think that he's probably
just ready to be happy with Jessica Beal, live his life, do whatever he wants. But Justin Timberlake
is Justin Timberlake. Yeah. This man deserves more than $100 million, in my personal opinion. I also
read people were kind of
taken it back and shocked that he owned his own music
right that's a good point I saw somebody comment back
and I thought this was a great point and they said he was in
in sync he learned his lesson
I think maybe because he had like been
in another group before and learned what it was like to have your music
owned by somebody else that when he yeah just in timorike solo
he owned his own music.
I don't know exactly the details of that,
but I thought it was an interesting comment.
That would make sense.
So he sold the rights to all of his songs,
his song cataloged to Hypnosis song management,
which is a billion dollar fund backed by a private equity firm Blackstone.
The London-based company has been given full ownership and control
over Timberlake's interest in some 200 songs.
he wrote or co-wrote throughout his entire career.
Timberlake said in a statement,
I'm excited to be partnering with Merck,
which is the CEO and founder of hypnosis and hypnosis.
Are you sure not hypnosis?
Hypnosis, yeah, hypnosis.
I guess I'm just, it's tripping me up
because it's spelled like hip hop
and not like how you would typically spell hypnosis.
but you're probably right.
That is probably exactly what it is.
Because I'm like reading it like diagnosis,
which is not right.
I feel like we're in like freaky Friday.
Where we switch rolls.
Yeah.
Yeah.
She's jet lagged.
It's,
I don't even know what time it is,
honestly.
Like, I should be going to go to bed tonight.
I have no idea whenever I fall asleep.
But anyway,
he said that he values artists in their creative work
and has always been a strong supporter
of songwriters and storytelling.
I look forward to entering this next chapter.
Future recordings are not included in this deal,
which has reportedly done similar business
with Beyonce Barry Manilow, 50 cent and more.
He is the latest of a younger crop of artists
cashing in on their catalogs.
Fellow pop acts like Bruno Mars and John Legend
are getting involved in the growing music acquisition market.
Oh, Bruno Mars apparently sold a portion of his catalog last year.
And John Legend sold both the copyrights to and royalties for music he wrote from late 2004 through early last year.
So I guess it is becoming a more common thing.
I just feel like maybe flies under the radar more than you, because of course I just feel like the Taylor Swift stories of the world get much more attention.
And there's deals going both ways.
like speaking of bruno mars and money this is just random but i just thought of it last summer on
on the cape uh he it was like a big deal like everyone in the cape was talking about it but like
he performed at someone's wedding like on the cape guess how much money he got to perform at a wedding
five million dollars didn't we talk about this uh might have been off camera maybe i don't know
what we talked about on the podcast 12 million close 30
13.
13.
Isn't that insane?
Yeah, that is insane.
To play like 10 songs or whatever it is and like just leave.
But imagine I just don't understand blowing your money on that.
But I think if you're like, if you're like a CEO and you just have unlimited money or whatever, it's like, why not?
In my head, that was the point I wanted to make.
And then it came out like, why fucking waste your money on that?
But I guess if you have so much money that that is not even a dent in your pocket.
then you're like, yeah, I'm going to fucking pay $13 million from Bruno Mars play at my wedding.
Yeah.
I'll be sticking with that.
I feel like Bruno Mars is a wedding guy, I guess.
I guess it's a lot of weddings.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah.
We did talk about this because then we said, who would you rather have like Billy Bill?
Yes.
Oh, we were at dinner.
We were at dinner.
Yes.
We were at dinner.
Yes, we were at dinner.
Because it was like, I think he definitely is, but it's also like you can get a great
wedding band with a front man who can sing Bruno Mars songs.
And looks like.
like Bruno Mars.
John Mayer performed at a wedding in New York
like a week or two ago, I saw.
I don't know what his relations was, but yeah.
Yeah, we talked about this.
Would you rather Billy Joel or Elton John
perform at your wedding, and I went Elton John?
Which would shock people because I'm from.
I think Elton John has more like love songs to play.
Billy Joel.
I don't know about that.
Quite a catalog.
No, I know.
I'm just saying like I think of Elton John's biggest songs
and they're like about love.
Imagine Elton John playing your song at your wedding?
That's what I'm saying.
Oh my God.
I'm actually.
For the record, I also think I would go out.
I'm actually crying.
I have to start crying.
It would be incredible.
Yeah, that's nuts.
I mean, so yeah, it looks like these guys are really racking in high numbers for all their music.
Like, if you can make music like Justin Timberlake, where all of those songs have
already made him so much money.
Like, he's already made money on these songs.
And then you can go back and be like,
how about a cool 100 mil more?
Take them.
It's a deal that you take, I suppose.
If only we were talented.
If only.
So here's a pretty interesting new idea for the dating app world.
I feel like there are so many different dating apps
and people aren't trying to find.
people in so many different ways. Well, here is Spark. This is a app that is different from other dating
apps. Instead of swiping one by one, you see a bunch of profiles at the same time and pick who
stands out like in real life, which is kind of a crazy phenomenon. So it recreates the feeling
of walking into a party or seeing who catches your eye. Spark shows the people closest to you.
You can open the app at a bar. And the people you see on the grid are probably at the
bar too and you'll know who's single. So you walk into a crowded bar in the city,
you open the app and you can literally see these people in real time. Spend less time on apps
and more time on dates. Likes expire after 24 hours so you won't wait around for weeks
wondering if someone is going to message you. Spark shows active profiles only. You won't see
inactive profiles of people who forgot they were on dating apps in your grid. So if you're tired
of swiping and want to meet cool people in your area, go to the app store and download Spark
or click the link in the description.
Once again, that's Spark.
You can go to the app store and download Spark
or click the link in the description.
Engagement news,
Margaret Kowali and Jack Antonoff are engaged.
It feels like they haven't been dating for that long,
but I feel like they both kind of move in the night.
If that makes sense,
like I just kind of get that vibe from the two of them.
but they seem so happy.
She's wearing this beautiful ring.
And I feel like, like I said,
there's been a lot of ups and downs relationship-wise
for both of them in the last few years and such
that this is great news.
Yeah.
Congrats to them.
It's one of those that I'm just like,
I don't have much to say about them getting engaged besides,
we all know what I want to say, but I'm going to hold back.
The only thing I really know about Jack Antonoff is
works with Taylor Swift.
Yes.
Was engaged Selena Dunner.
Yes.
Hey, that's more than I thought I knew about it.
So Margaret has dated Nat Wolf.
Wow.
Yeah.
Craye A, A, A, A, Z car.
Yeah.
Great song.
Great song.
Peter Davidson, which we all remember.
There were some rumors about a Cara Delavine situation, but who doesn't have that?
Yep.
And then, of course, there was the, you know, the Shia LaBuff relationship with that came after.
It was like right around the time before, after F.K. Twigs filing the lawsuit.
against him and then shortly after that they broke up it was claimed that her parents had concerns
about him uh you know she has Andy McDowell actress is is her mother and uh apparently she was
concerned about that relationship at the time which is very fair and then Jack Antonoff they
started it seemed like they had first stepped out publicly August 2021
A couple made their red carpet debut at the 2022 Critics Choice Awards.
And I mean, like I said, it hasn't really been that long, but it clearly worked.
And yeah, he had previously dated Lena Dunham for six years, 2012 to 2018.
It's a long time to be dating to be dating.
He took the words out of my mouth.
That was going to say, that is a long time to be dating Lena Dunham.
Uh-huh.
And yep.
So they,
did he ever,
did he propose to her or no?
Lena Donna?
Did they?
Yeah, like were they actually engaged or did they just date for a long time?
I don't remember them being engaged.
Yeah, okay.
I think they were.
I think they just dated.
But Jack Antonoff is a very interesting human being as far as just like achievement.
You know?
he's worked with a lot of really cool people.
He's from New Jersey.
He's a,
like he's been in multiple bands.
Like he's the lead singer of bleachers,
but then also was in fun.
Oh,
we are, yeah.
Yep, that one.
Yep.
Guitar is and drummers coming out of this one.
In the pop band,
Fun, which is obviously everybody
recognized that song.
And yes,
I may just be.
reading from his Wikipedia, but he's also done like indie rock bands.
And then of course, songwriter, record producer, Taylor Swift, Lord, St. Vincent,
Florence, Machine, Tegan and Sarah, Lana Del Rey, Carly Ray Jepson.
A lot of really, really big songs.
This guy has his hands on.
And I guess how he is 38 and how it's Margaret.
I think, look, is Mark, like, my age or younger?
I'm going to guess.
27.
27.
27.
But that's, that is, like I said, couldn't be more of a good for them.
Yep.
Right?
Like, what else am I supposed to say about?
Exactly.
It's very cute.
This Instagram is very cute of her with a ring and she just wrote, oh, I love him.
Like, that's so, that's so cute.
That is true.
truly a good for that moment. It really is. Pete and Kim are given Courtney and Travis little run for their money.
They,
Kim is posting like Instagram story stories of the two of them,
cuddly, cute little, little kisses, little, she's got, I got to say that that filter that she used in that video with like the,
whatever, like the horn thing,
maybe my least favorite filter on Instagram.
I don't know why anybody uses.
Like, it's not cute.
It's not, it's, I don't, I don't see the point of that filter at all.
I don't understand it either.
I also hate filters on Instagram in general.
And I'm not talking about the Paris filter, something like that.
Everyone loves the Paris filter.
I'm talking about the ones that literally alter your face.
Yeah, yeah.
Everyone uses.
And I'm just like, how do people not pick up on the fact that people altered their face?
Like, sometimes that, but that's besides the point, but it does frustrate me that I'm like,
how are people not picking up on the fact that you literally just change your face for your Instagram story and everyone's just okay with it?
Like, we're supposed to just carry on with our lives and act like this is a totally normal thing to do even though it's not.
Anyways, Kim and Pete, I love seeing them show some stuff on Instagram stories.
I think that Pete dyed his hair blonde to match Kim's.
Love it.
You do you think that?
You think that's why he did it?
Yeah.
I mean, I prefer Pete Davidson with darker hair, but it doesn't matter what I prefer.
If he wants to have matching bleached blonde hair with Kim, then he's going to have that.
And I'm sure I think it's a style thing.
Like, I think Kim's like, well, you've dyed your hair blonde before.
Like, why don't you dye blonde to match mine?
And maybe Kim really likes it like that.
Yeah, maybe she does.
And I don't know.
I think they're cute.
I think that I'm happy for Kim to be able to just like post with Pete and
not really worried about Kanye blowing up.
Like he's for a while.
And it seemed like that all stopped.
And now she could just like post happy with her boyfriend.
I do see an engagement in their future.
I see Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian getting engaged.
Like Kim Kardashian loves getting married.
She does.
She does.
She does believe in love.
She is not.
We know that Pete doesn't have any fear when it comes to pop the question.
Kim Kardashian is not afraid of a little marriage and a little divorce.
So I could see it in their future.
Things seem to be going great between them.
And I'm happy to see pictures and videos of them.
I really am.
It sounds so, it really does sound stupid because like, what doesn't she have?
But I just also feel that same way where they're in London right now.
I don't know what for, but they're in London and there's these paparazzi people.
photos of them walking the street together.
And she's a little bit behind them, their hand in hand.
They got their, you know, their matching hair.
And she is, she just looks so happy.
Like she is going for a much, like, it seems cleaner look.
She's much, it doesn't feel like sometimes she feels like she needs to be totally
dressed up all the time when she's stepping out.
She doesn't have like a shit ton of makeup on all the time.
She just looks natural and herself and how.
happy. And I think that's very, very sweet. Like you said, yeah, it's so possible that could be
something that happened. There was a moment in the Kardashians episode last week that like really
made me remember a lot of stuff. And I never really thought about this way of Kim apologizing
to her family, like that she never really was able to stand up for them when Kanye would kind of go off
the rails and like talk shit about her own family. And it was kind of crazy to like just hear her
acknowledge that part of like their relationship that there was this cloud that they all like,
she's like, don't think I didn't know that you guys all had to put up with this shit too. And there
was nothing really for me to do. Like I'm truly so sorry about that. And I thought it was just like
kind of interesting to see her get into that side of things when it came.
came to like more of their relationship and all everybody's just got nice things to say about pete it seems
they just think that he is bringing out like the best in her right now we obviously don't know her
but i think so too i feel like she looks refreshed like like he just looks happy in these pictures
she looks refreshed i feel like he brings out a normal side of her um the side of just enjoying
you know day to day things like when we see
saw them going to Dwayne Reed or CVS, just buy an ice cream in there, like very normal human
being things where everything with Kanye was so extravagant and the best dates and the way
they got engaged on the field.
And it was everything was just like over the top.
And I feel like as ridiculous as this sounds, when you are so used to over the top things
all the time, nothing is really that nice or crazy anymore that you start to appreciate just
simple things, like probably go for a fucking walk.
Like, it's just the little things in life that bring you happiness.
And I feel like Pete Davidson is probably very good at that because he seems like a guy
that just enjoys simple pleasures.
I wonder what another engagement would look like for her.
And if Pete thinks of like, they just, he's just got to go polar opposite.
He's got to like get something simple and beautiful that is obviously up to Kim's
standards, but is not like as extravagant as some of her past engagement rings.
And maybe he just rolls over in bed and it's like underneath the pillow or something.
Because I don't, how do you top the Kanye engagement?
I don't think you can't.
The thing is, I don't think you can top an extravagant engagement like that.
But it might mean more when you really love somebody that it doesn't even matter.
You don't even need it.
You don't need an over-the-top engagement.
You're going to be happier no matter what.
Because you just love this person in a different, more way than you did the last.
Definitely.
I think they're on the right track, these two.
Crazy.
Crazy.
These two crazy kids.
Very crazy.

Drake is on Instagram.
You know, he loves posting his carousel photos where one is just out of left field
where no one knows like why he posted that or like what it has to do with anything.
And he did this this week.
and the last slide is a close-up of his face and there's a hand over his face and it's very
specific nails it's a hand like that is a very specific manicure specifically Addison Ray.
Like it is Addison Ray's manicure looks like a one-of-a-kind manicure to be honest.
And there is an Instagram photo that Addison had posted where you can see exactly the hand
and the manicure and everything.
And so everyone was like, wait, what the, like, what is that?
Even Addison was like, wait.
And she posted on Twitter the side by side being like, this looks too familiar.
I don't get it.
Am I missing the joke?
Is there something that I'm missing here?
It was strange.
I don't think we're missing anything.
I have no idea where that came from.
Somebody photoshopped it and sent it to Drake or Drake got somebody to Photoshop it himself or
who knows but very funny for Addison Ray to tweet it out and be like this looks familiar like
imagine going through Drake's pictures or someone says it to you and you're like that's my hand
from another picture yeah just totally out of left field I also thought it was interesting
that she does not follow Drake hmm interesting she posted I could see that bang and she did not
follow Drake I feel like Drake's one of the most followed people on Instagram you know I don't think I
follow Drake.
Well, that doesn't surprise me.
How do you now follow
Drake?
I think
I don't know.
Very interesting Instagram follow.
Throw him a follow, Fran.
Come on.
Because at this point, it's like,
he doesn't need it.
My follow.
No, but you need it.
If I ever need to go see his stuff,
like I just go,
I go look.
Like, when I see something I need to see.
But you're not interested in, like,
one of the biggest stars in the world
and, like, just following.
Like, I follow him.
people. I follow Taylor Swift. Actually, do. I don't think I do. Yeah, you probably don't. Yeah, I don't know.
Like I said, I know. No, I do. I follow her. Come on. He needs it. He doesn't have that many.
Yeah, right. 111 billion followers. He definitely. That's funny that he, I always forget that he follows Caleb
and Rhone. It's a good flex. Can we do a check?
in on Harry Styles to see if he beat Zane's
Instagram following? Oh yeah, I look right now. I'll look right now.
Harry Styles is currently at
45.3.
Wow. Zanes are 45.4?
Are people listening to the podcast?
How? Almost there.
Watch, when he hits point four, when he ties him,
Zane's going to post like a picture of him and his baby.
Yeah.
Yeah. Like something crazy.
No, I just like, what was the thing recently,
the other thing that Drake did recently on Instagram with like a,
with a weird last photo?
It was him and Taylor.
It was him and Taylor.
Oh, right, right.
Duh.
And everyone was like, what the fuck is?
Like, I feel like he's just enjoying doing this as the last photo.
Somebody's photoshopping these for him.
And he's just like, okay.
And throwing them up.
Oh, so you think that was a Photoshop?
The Taylor.
Oh, I mean, yeah, wasn't it?
Or was it, was it actually an old photo?
I think everyone thought it was like an old photo.
Oh, no, I think it was an old photo.
Yeah, it was real, though.
It was, yes, yes.
It was a real photo.
I meant just like posting something so totally random for literally no reason.
He's a funny.
And everyone thinking that there's a reason and there just is no reason.
And that's why you got to toss him to follow.
He's a funny follow.
his posts are funny.
Yeah.
And his kid is in there.
Yeah.
All right, guys.
I mean,
God knows he needs it.
He's got one more follower.
I have no idea why we just started campaigning for Drake to be followed.
But yeah,
I don't know either.
It is what it is.
But yeah.
So if you're,
if you're Addison,
right,
like that's a good joke to make of being like,
wait,
I'm sorry.
And also if you're like,
fucking Drake just post.
my hand. Fine. Yeah. Cool. Yep. You just take it because you can't like and then the way he always like he's got his
comments limited so it's not like things get so out of control. She literally like she on her story she
re-shared the slide of Drake's photo and then her photo just back to back. It's like okay.
I'd be
I
and what's funny is that
I'm trying to find the
oh wait I can just click on the story
duh stupid
the picture is from
2020
yeah
like the Addison Ray
nails like that manicure
is from 2020
who made that for him
he's got a Photoshop guy
or he's just like
searching his name into the internet.
Yeah.
And he's like, this is funny.
Yeah, I guess.
Bizarre.
No reason for it, but he keeps doing it.
And it keeps getting laughs and it keeps getting attention.
And it keeps gaining him followers.
Yeah, he, one new follower thanks to that post.
He's probably very proud of himself.
