Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, Chicks in the Office listeners. You can find every episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or YouTube. Prime members can listen ad free on Amazon Music. What's up, everyone? It's Chicks in the Office with Rianne, giving you that Friday energy on a Friday. Happy Friday, everybody. Happy Friday. We're going to Vegas.
Starting point is 00:00:23 We are. We're headed to Vegas. Wow. It's been a while. Yeah, I mean, I... The first... First time I went to Vegas, I was in fifth grade. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:33 Which is, that's really, you know, an odd. It's a different experience. It's an odd family vacation to take. Yeah, there's a lot to do. It was awesome. Shows and magic. We went to Eminem World. We saw a magician.
Starting point is 00:00:47 Yes, a lot of magic. We got dragged through the casino, through the smoke and fire and everything, you know, while my parents gambled their life money away. And yeah, that's... That's just the way it went. And that's just the way it went. And I actually remember we showed up to the flamingo in Vegas. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:10 Which doesn't exist, right? No, it does. Oh, it does. What just got knocked down? Maybe it was. Oh, no. Tropicana. The Tropicana.
Starting point is 00:01:17 Okay. So the flamingo exists. My parents on their honeymoon went to Vegas and then Hawaii. So they stopped in Vegas and went to Hawaii and they stayed at the flamingo. So this was like for one of their anniversaries when we went. And so we were staying at the Flamingo. They wanted to run it back. They wanted to run it back.
Starting point is 00:01:37 And we went into our rooms. Yeah. And like obviously like me, my brother and sister are all sharing room than my mom and dad. And my mom checked the mattresses and the beds, which she always did and has made me kind of a psycho with that. stuff too. We immediately left the flamingo. There was there was no staying at the flamingo that night. I don't remember where or I think they might have just put us into a different room at the flamingo because it wasn't like we could just go to any hotel. They were like, no, we're staying here. Because then I do remember eating. Yeah, yeah, the breakfast buffet was awesome because there was
Starting point is 00:02:24 flamingo. Sorry, I'm just recounting my first time in Vegas as a fifth grader. But it was awesome because I remember there were actual flamingos. Real ones. Yeah, so I think they just put us in different rooms and it was a whole thing. And it started off the night, not great. But it was the first time I flew anywhere sort of far from, you know, on the other side. And I remember being like, this flight was awesome. Like I, like, slept the whole time.
Starting point is 00:02:49 And I remember thinking it was so far. I was like, wow. It is. It is very far. And it's a totally different landscape. No, it was totally different, but it was awesome. You're in the desert? Yeah, we went to, we were in Arizona and Vegas at the same time.
Starting point is 00:03:05 I remember because we went to the Hoover Dam. Oh, yeah. Right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The Hoover Dam. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:15 What a trip. That was. No, I'm very much looking forward to our Rum Haven event that we have on Saturday. If you're in the area, maybe, maybe you're going on a Bachelorette. trip. Yes, you got to sign up to come to the party. Maybe you're around, whatever it is. We're doing this Rum Haven Pool Party on Saturday, the Omnia.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Mm-hmm. 130 to 4, I believe the time is. Local time. Can you believe Kyle Cook is going to be there the same weekend? I think I saw that. There's so many things that were missing. Can we double check that? I think maybe Friday night?
Starting point is 00:03:53 No. No, I think we're missing it by like a weekend. Friday. No, it's this Friday night, yeah. October 2nd. Oh, during the day. During the day. So we're competing with him.
Starting point is 00:04:06 I'll be there. No, we're ours on Saturday. Oh, yeah, you're right. He's on Friday. Should you just go by myself? You should. You should go by yourself. I have like a full day by myself, basically.
Starting point is 00:04:16 I really wanted to, I'm just been waiting for the right thing to go to the sphere. You know? I really want to go. Well, we're going to John Mayer. We miss all Backstree Boys. Yes, I was what I'm going to say. I should have gone when it was Backstreet Boys, because that's way more on my alley.
Starting point is 00:04:32 But I never consider myself like a massive Backstreet Boys fan to warrant going, despite how much people raved about it as a whole. They said it was awesome. And then I was like, ooh-oo, let me type in, see who's going to be at the sphere next while we're on this trip, Metallica. So that couldn't be more polar opposite of everything in my being. And the fact that we're going to be like,
Starting point is 00:04:57 in Vegas and Metallica fans are going to be running around. You know what's awesome, though? Well, can you imagine Enter Sandman in the sphere? Have you ever watched Metallica perform at Moscow in Moscow? In 1980? Look it up. Metallica. Enter Sandman.
Starting point is 00:05:20 I don't think I've watched Metallica perform ever. Oh, wow. This will give you chills. I mean, we're not going to be able to play it. I think it was in Moscow. 1991. Yes. This live is one of the best videos. It'll give you chills. So this was a free festival. Oh, that makes sense. Or a free show in the festival. I mean, look, then the like the recommended video that plays next is Lars Eurich on with Conan O'Brien saying that that show was a mindfuck
Starting point is 00:05:47 of a concert. How insane is that? Yeah. Yeah. To like watching it back is probably crazy for them. And then like be, imagine being there and you look back on this video and you're like, I was there. Or do we have all the members of Metallica? That's a good question. Just like as the band stayed intact where if you're going to see them at this sphere, they're all together? No.
Starting point is 00:06:11 The bass player died in 1986. Oh. Okay. Okay, well that's... I mean, yeah, that's a while. I just meant if there was anybody if coming in or coming out, you know? Right.
Starting point is 00:06:22 Not necessarily death, like, maybe if there's some people that left. came back or anything of this anything of the sort. I don't know my Metallica history that well, but I do know that video and that lives in my brain. Nothing about Metallica. Do you know, are you a big Goo Goo Goo Dolls?
Starting point is 00:06:40 No. My brother watches that video non-stop. I know you're going to talk about it's like the one. Buffalo where it's pouring rain and they play Iris. And, um, because he's from Buffalo too. Yeah, Jimmy had like a one of, he had a TikTok like semi-viral of him joking about.
Starting point is 00:06:57 watching that video for like the 9 million of time because it is another one that's awesome yeah yeah I wish we could play music on this I know we can I know it is a sick video when he goes and I don't want the world to see me it's just it's one of those it's pouring it's one of those things that you wish you can lip there and I don't think that they'd understand yeah yeah yeah rock and roll baby yeah that's just rock and roll Metallica the sphere mm-hmm we'll be there it's
Starting point is 00:07:23 like either you go can go see Wizard of Oz or you can go see Metallica Right, you can hit the Wizard of Oz 2 p.m. Or you can do the 9 p.m. Exactly. And the thought of us doing like a day party and then rolling into going to see Metallica is objectively hilarious. We will not be doing that.
Starting point is 00:07:43 We won't, but it sounds epic. I'm just waiting for it. I know John Meyer obviously will be going to this fear and that is one that I would absolutely want to go to. But I'm just waiting for someone that I feel very passionate about to be at the sphere and then I will make sure I'm there. I agree with you.
Starting point is 00:08:00 It's got to be a passionate first time experience. Because it seems just like an incredible place. It does. It does. Something I feel like you have to experience if you can. Yeah. So we'll be in Vegas. I'm kind of in and out of there.
Starting point is 00:08:14 Showing up late on Friday, leaving Saturday night on a red eye. You're really not even there. You're there for like 24 hours. No. Yeah. I mean, listen, I'm in the throw of unpacking everything. I don't know where anything is. Everything's in boxes.
Starting point is 00:08:29 I have to get home to get organized. We're also coming home for a day to then leave again. Exactly. We are traveling again on Tuesday. Yeah, we're on next week. So I have to be home for a day or two to, like, get my life in order. Everything's gone out the window this week. It's a wash on how I look, how I smell, how I'm dressing.
Starting point is 00:08:48 I really, it's wash. My migraine is still here. Well, I can't say you've smelled bad at all this week. Thank you. So you can at least hold your head high on. on that one. I actually had a dream. Someone told me I smelled bad.
Starting point is 00:08:59 No, no, no, no. I had such a weird dream last night. It was so odd. Let's talk about it. No. Let's make sure that this podcast is us watching a video that no one else can watch. And then talk about the dream that no one cares about. Right.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Moving on anyways. My migraine is still intact and it's driving me insane. Yeah, that can't be good. No. But I told you, and I don't know if anybody else has experienced this, and I think you should go. but when I was dealing with bad headaches with my period, I was recommended to go to acupuncture. And my god, it really helped.
Starting point is 00:09:37 Really helped. I should look into that. That sounds very nice. Yeah. And it's just like also just a really nice experience. Right, but it's just like added to the fucking list of things we got to do to maintain maintenance, all this shit. Yeah, I know what I mean.
Starting point is 00:09:49 I mean. This is one to make you feel better. It's not like a, I got to go get my hair done. Right. It's a little less superficial. It's like, no, this will make you feel better. That's true. That's true. Yeah, it's just been a hectic week.
Starting point is 00:10:02 So I think the migraine is just, yeah, period, hormone, stress-related, obviously. Because now with traveling right around the corner and I'm not unpacked and I'm disorganized, I don't like that. I like to have an organized home. Yeah. Organized home, organized brain. Brain right now, disorganized. But we'll get through it. My in-laws are actually coming this weekend.
Starting point is 00:10:23 to help Matt unpack. So that's a nice treat for me. That is nice. Because I'll come back. I'll come back. Yeah. And it'll be on packs. And it'll be unpacked.
Starting point is 00:10:35 So that'll be really nice. Yes. Yes. I had someone message me yesterday and was like, oh my God, you were so unhinged on the podcast. And I was like, you know what it is? When you're fighting off a migraine or something, you don't have time. to mask your inner thoughts.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Yeah, no, they just all come out. Because you're too busy fighting the other thing. Yeah. I can't fight my inner thoughts and my migraine at once. So all those thoughts win over the migraine. You know, that's why I just said anything I was thinking, because I can't do both at the same time. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:12 Valid. Yeah, it is. Your hair looks lovely. You got it done. Thank you. I did, I did get just my roots done and a nice, you know, toner. A little refresh?
Starting point is 00:11:22 Because my gray is. are just coming in loud and proud. And I, it's just, you know, I'm 32. What's a girl to do? Oh, my God. Why are we rhyming so much? I think we're just like, we just are light. We are just so awesome.
Starting point is 00:11:35 We are rhyming so much. My grays are here. So talented. And I would pluck them. Yeah. Like I would pull my hair. And you know what? Hair is valuable these days.
Starting point is 00:11:47 The hair on your head is valuable. And I was looking in the mirror last week and I thought, now there's just too many coming in for me to be pulling out of my head. You know? So I said I'd rather just go and get it and just get it touched up so that it's not bothering me. And it's like it was never crazy visible, but at my part on the top of my head, I could start to see it. But when I pull my hair back, all those pesky ones underneath were peeking out. And I was like, oh, no.
Starting point is 00:12:20 Well, I never noticed. I think your hair looks beautiful. I love the color. I love the color. It looks gorgeous. It's that time of the year where you make the decision of do I change my hair.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. And I'm not really, and I haven't changed it in so long and I do, like I've kept my same color. And now going into fall, it felt even more festive. I was, my trainer was laughing at me this morning
Starting point is 00:12:43 because I came like hair, a deeper Auburn. I got my brown nails. I was in an all brown work. like outfit and he was like wow you're hello miss fall yeah hello sweat of weather yeah sweat of weather uh sweat a weather it's a little too warm right now it's not sweat to weather sorry not to talk about i know but it's not to now go from dreams to weather yeah um but we're a little bit of a heat wave coming through right now we have so much to say clearly yeah
Starting point is 00:13:12 i am i got the bug now to go brunette because haley beber her hair looks so gorgeous like this tussled like this effortlessly beautiful color tussled brown hair that she's got going on is making me... That's always the brown I wanted my hair to look like when I had my natural color. It's so pretty. And on her, I don't look like Haley Bieber, so I don't know.
Starting point is 00:13:33 But I do like to... You just had your hair brown. Not that long ago. It's gorgeous. I thank you. I actually do like going brown for the fall and winter. I do a lot. So I think I'm heading in that direction soon.
Starting point is 00:13:44 Because I had to fill in my roots, so I have a shadow root going on right now because I was very blonde during the summer and then my roots were growing out. I have to do a shadow root. because my hair grows fast. And now I'm just like in the in-between and I'm like, I think I want to head towards brunette.
Starting point is 00:13:57 But I'm so annoyed because I posted it on my story that I'm going to, that I want to go brunette. And our listeners are the best. They're like, do it, do it, do it. They do it. They do it. My aunt writes back, no, L-O-L. I'm like, well, our biggest haters are our family.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Right, exactly. Like, why have haters when you can have your family? Yeah, no, absolutely. So why are you doing that? Oh, I don't know. Because I want it and I like it. Or just that of that generation. of the video I posted of me on the carpet,
Starting point is 00:14:27 I clicked on her profile. She's an older woman. Maybe a grandma. Look like maybe she had a grandkid in her profile. She's like, why are you moving her head like that? Sorry, Janine. I was just trying to get my angles. God forbid I got a look off.
Starting point is 00:14:39 Yeah. Just trying to get my angles. I can't. I actually did notice and every single time I think sabotage. Because when we posted the three photos, the photos of us from the carpet, and I was looking at the comments on chicks in the office, and someone was like, Ria, hear me out a shoulder length cut.
Starting point is 00:14:55 I went, no. No. What the fuck is up with that? You want to know why? It's because you had your hair like this. No, I know, but what? And like, it looked gorge. It looked gorge.
Starting point is 00:15:04 Like, but I'm saying, not, you wouldn't cut it. No, but that's insane. Yeah. Anybody telling me to cut my hair, the only thing that I get complimented on to a bob. Yeah. So that what? So I have nothing left? Right.
Starting point is 00:15:17 So, so, so there's nothing? On my last redeeming quality gone? literally the only redeeming quality I have because it's the only thing people compliment I'm going to cut it off speaking of did you mention the aunt from Sabrina the Teenage Witch complimenting your hair no I didn't Caroline Rea is because I wasn't on the episodes so I wasn't there to bring it up right thank you for breaking it up yeah um this is really helping my migraine no I took a trip to the gas station to get pumped up uh Caroline Rea yes the from Sabrina Teenage Witch and also many other things so many
Starting point is 00:15:47 was that dancing with the stars today near us and she stopped me and goes I have to ask you, how is your hair so beautiful? I said, oh my God, this is going to sound really obnoxious. It's genetics. I don't know. And let me tell you something. Now it's like, we could actually have a good little routine with this. That could be like a little buddy buddy routine where you do that. You, you know, you have your spiel of like, ah, it's like it's really genetic. And I'm, I should just be behind you going, blent. It's genetics. It's so obnoxious. Yeah, but, but it is true though. And you know what? It's like one I asked Rob Lowe why he's like so good looking.
Starting point is 00:16:24 And he was like, it's genetics. I don't fucking know. I was born this way. It does kind of go along with my theory of, not even a theory, just my stance of male hair when they cut it short. And if they have the ability to have it long, why would they not have it long? I do feel that way about your hair. It's like, if you have it, why would you cut it off? But I also just don't have a face for a bob.
Starting point is 00:16:49 Like, I just don't have that. I had my hair in a very short cut. Your hair was very short. At one point. And I was way younger. And I don't like how I looked. Yeah. No, your hair.
Starting point is 00:17:00 Sorry. It's so fair. I'm just being. And at the end of the day, you kept to choose. Yeah, I get to choose. And I, you know, it took me a while to get my hair back to this because I grew up with hair like this. So my hair, because people ask me, how did you get your hair like that?
Starting point is 00:17:12 It wasn't always like that. It wasn't. It was, though. Growing up, I had. No, no, no. I had a hair like this. There was a stint where my hair, I was treating it like. poorly and um you know i it was too blonde and it got fried off and i treated my body like shit so
Starting point is 00:17:28 just everything wasn't working for itself now it's back to being what it was what i grew up with until people go oh my god how did you get it that way and i'm like no i really do think it's genetics because i was this way and then i ruined it and then it had to find its way back whatever i don't know man like seriously i'm blabbling because my head hurts but like i'm happy to be here and i'm happy to entertain absolutely always this is what brings me So much joy and happiness talking. I really, I, I really just. Okay, we've gone from dreams to weather to Ria getting sent to bed.
Starting point is 00:17:57 No. Oh, throwing Rhea's hair in there. Right. I really am just so enjoying this studio. This show. Oh, okay. Which I think has a lot to do with the studio. No, it probably, I just feel like we're all ripping, the banter's great,
Starting point is 00:18:17 the chemistries off the chart. Numbers are up, up, up, but, yeah. the engagement's up. Like, I'm just so happy. Yeah. Like, I come here so happy to do this job every day. You know what I realize we missed. To come across. Even if I sound like I have a little bit of an attitude because of a- Because of a headache. And I just, I don't want everyone to know, I am grateful to be here. I really am. I really am. I was smiling. It's your new commute. It is. That's great too. But I will say, I was smiling ear to ear in the shower last night.
Starting point is 00:18:49 because Noah had sent me some clips. Was Matt also in the shower? No, no, no. He was not there this time. But Noah had sent me some clips to go over before posting. And I was watching them and I said, oh, God, we are just so funny. And I was, you know what?
Starting point is 00:19:11 Sue me for thinking that we're funny. Yeah. And we're a good time to be around. And I just was smiling. Clip that. I just was smiling, thinking to myself, like, that could be a viral sound. This is, this is just so fun that we get to do this as our job.
Starting point is 00:19:25 We are so blessed. We really are. Anyways, I was trying to bring that back around to the fact that I was walking. I was, I was just on a walk with Olive and was thinking about the season, changing, and the years going by, and just having those thoughts on my walk. You know, I'm walking past Pete's Tavern, and I'm seeing all the young people out about having their happy hour cocktails. I'm thinking, well, you know, I've been in the city for a long time. What a journey it's been. And then I thought, we must have just passed 10 years of when you were hired.
Starting point is 00:19:59 Well, it was September 29th. So it was like, a couple days ago. Yeah. You're like, well, not really. It was two days ago. No, no, no, no. But isn't it great? I thought about it.
Starting point is 00:20:11 I was walking. I was like, wow, you know, it has to be. That has to be. It has to be 10 years. It didn't cross my mind on the day. It just crossed my mind right now. when you said it. Because I was like, it must be
Starting point is 00:20:19 at 2016. Yeah, that's September, 2016. And then I thought, I think it was late September. And then I thought to myself, I wonder if it's literally like now. And it was. Yeah, wow.
Starting point is 00:20:30 The 29th. Damn. Wow. Is that crazy. That is crazy. We'll be celebrating 10 years of friendship in February. Oh my God. That is really sweet.
Starting point is 00:20:37 10 years are the first emoji video. Wow. I just thought about, that's our whole next tour concept. 10 years of friendship? Yeah. Wow. Our big 10 anniversary.
Starting point is 00:20:47 That is so sweet. That's nice. Ten years. That is a long time. That's a long time. That is a solid friendship. You haven't shut up. No, we haven't.
Starting point is 00:20:56 And you know what? I was just talking about this the other day. What were we? Oh, Matt was telling me about somebody, not here. Somebody who can't stand somebody that they work with. Like, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. In the industry.
Starting point is 00:21:14 Just for a little context there. Wow. Beatles were only together for 10 years. Wow. The Beatles were together as a band for approximately 10 years. And you know what? Our body of work is comparable. Yeah. Hopefully we don't got a Yoko Ono in the mess. Yeah, we don't want to Travis Kelsey over here. Oh my God. Yeah. Yeah. Anyways, he was telling me about somebody in the industry,
Starting point is 00:21:36 two people that don't like each other that work together. And we were just like kind of going down the list of people. And these were two guys actually. So, but thinking back to like, this is a weird pole, but like Mike Francesa, Mike a mad dog, they hated each other. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And they were on air every single day. Yeah. Like, we are really impressive that... We still like each other?
Starting point is 00:21:56 We love, not just like, we... Man, come on, you're going to make people think that we don't actually like each other. Whatever. Anyways, forget the sentimental. But I'm just saying that it is very impressive. Yes. And is a testament to who we are as people that the two of us, stand here together strong today
Starting point is 00:22:20 with no end in sight. Knock on wood, knock on word. Yeah. Your responses are not sounding confident. No, there's a beautiful sentiment. I don't know if you knew this, but my love language is words of affirmation and you're not giving them to me right now.
Starting point is 00:22:37 Oh, okay. Shocker, that that's what it is. Yeah, I need positive reinforcement. I actually don't know if that's. You're probably just like, you're like all of them. What's the, I honestly, I really am. I need it all. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:56 What's, you know what I did? Positive affirmation. That's what I wanted to say. Positive affirmation. Yeah, I, yes. That also has to do with me having OCD, but yes. Yeah. Yes.
Starting point is 00:23:07 Yeah. You know what all this like looking back and talking about time makes me think about it is that when I was a kid, uh, at one day I looked in the mirror and, and waved to myself. and said hello Noah in the future. And I like remember it like in my brain as if it was yesterday. But it was like at this point like 15, 20 years ago. But isn't that cool? What?
Starting point is 00:23:32 But you were looking at yourself. But but I'm looking at myself. But you were looking at yourself in the present. But I see myself in my head now saying that because I was looking in the mirror. So now you see your younger self looking back. When I think of that moment, I remember to that moment being like I, so now it is. like the past Noah is saying hi to me. Right, right, because when you close your eyes,
Starting point is 00:23:52 wow, that is really sweet. When you close your eyes, you see younger Noah waving in the mirror. You don't see yourself, you don't see older Noah. So when you look in the mirror, you envision your young self saying hi to you. I mean, like, I can't like remember how I look really, but like I can remember like that moment in doing it
Starting point is 00:24:10 and being like, like, I remember the sentiment of it. And remember doing it. I don't remember what I was wearing. what a strange kid This is what I would say My text to you yesterday You posted that's this is explaining all Um
Starting point is 00:24:27 No I that's a lovely Sentiment I mean like How old do you think you were? I mean had to be like Like I would hope younger than 15 If it was older than 15
Starting point is 00:24:41 If it was yeah that would be my guess If you were like I was like five years ago So you term me I was graduating high school I was in my capping down If I filmed it It might have made more sense I guess
Starting point is 00:24:53 No I yeah I understand Yes obviously if you filmed yourself The idea is there The video would have made more sense The video absolutely would have made more sense To watch back Yeah
Starting point is 00:25:02 I'm very excited for Time Capsule For tomorrow night when we're drunk We should have We should have And Fran ultimately tells me How much she loves me After she's had two drinks
Starting point is 00:25:11 That's when I get my most That's when I get my most love From Fran is when she's had a little bit of alcohol and her true feelings come out and she looks at me and she goes you know, I love you and I say, I go like this
Starting point is 00:25:23 I go, yeah, I know. I know. You just show it in a strange way sometimes but I know. For the first time I went on my 21st birthday and now it's almost 10 years later. What did you do it for the first time? 21st birthday I went to Vegas for the first time with my friends. Oh, hell yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:37 Another 10 year anniversary. And it's almost exactly 10 years. That's crazy. Someone told me we're celebrating your birthday this weekend. No, we're not. I mean, I mean, I guess we could. Should we tell Vegas The Vegas Tourism Board? We're closer to Fran's birthday than yours.
Starting point is 00:25:52 No, I don't think we are. No, we are. Hers was the 20th and yours is the 15th. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Damn it. Damn it. While we're there, it'll be
Starting point is 00:26:03 probably like equal. What are you going to do for my birthday? You know. I thought we were going to Miley Cyrus. That's the way I show love to people. I wish we were going to Miley Cyrus for your birthday. No, we can't. Wait, you're surprised me with John Mayer tickets, aren't you?
Starting point is 00:26:19 Fuck! You ruined the surprise. Come on, bro. Don't do that. One of those tickets go on sale? The mileage, like, the big VIP package is actually went today. Oh. But the three sale.
Starting point is 00:26:32 You weren't interested in the big VIP package? Well, it's like the flights and hotels. And by the way, like, the, that sounds, yeah. When you say it like that. You didn't want to buy John's big VIP package. Everybody wants What's in his big VIP package? I bet Andy Cohen
Starting point is 00:26:49 Was it? The most expensive VIP experience, I'll say, had you in like the front, it said like front row reserve ticket, but I'm like, everything I've heard is you don't want to be in the front row at the sphere.
Starting point is 00:27:05 You want to be like, oh. Well, here's the thing. I think you want to be front row anywhere. No, no, I don't think so. If I'm going to the sphere, I want to see the- Experience the sphere, that's fine. But if you love John Mayer that much, you want to be up close and personal.
Starting point is 00:27:19 You want to be in his VIP package. Which is why they put you in the front row. Right. You're right there. Yeah. No, I think I'd still want to be up. No, you want to be higher up. You want to see the lights and the screens.
Starting point is 00:27:32 Yeah, because if you're that close, you're not really. You're only looking at John. You're only looking at John. I would, that's why you go multiple nights. That's what I would assume. A guy that would do. If I could go to six nights, by the way, are we going to talk about
Starting point is 00:27:44 that I said John's in New York City maybe Harry will bring him out and then he's front row at Harry Styles concert last night with Derek Trucks and Susan Tedesky who I'm sure no one I love when you call her Susan. They're full names. Susan. Derek Trucks and Susan
Starting point is 00:28:00 Tedesky. No, no, I saw that picture and went oh my God, that's Susan behind it and I guarantee you not one Is that my Susan? Do you mean? Not one person in that whole arena probably knew who they were. They're sitting in the presence of greatness. And I'm sure they went backstage with John.
Starting point is 00:28:15 I would love, I would pay money to see Harry Stiles and Susan. They cover sign of the times all the time. I'm getting fired up right now. Yeah, I can tell. I can tell. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Sicking easy, man. As you can see, Harry doesn't really bring, you know, he hasn't really brought anybody out.
Starting point is 00:28:29 No, I was saying to Sarah, I was like, it, because Capaldi was it. Yeah, yeah. Capaldi. Do you remember, you know, Capald? I'm getting hot over here. Ever since I've mentioned John's big package. You keep getting excited. We're going to see your way up your package.
Starting point is 00:28:54 Too much John talk. Do you mute my mic when I laugh really hard or you keep it? Because, God, it must not sound great to people. I like that laugh. Literally. I like that laugh. He voice noted me. No, because I sent her a clip for a, like a clip.
Starting point is 00:29:09 Let me put it. Did you save it? Yeah, have you laughing. I must have had it because he sent me a clip and I'm in it. I'm laughing really hard. I do, sending voice notes are fun. Noah's the king of voice notes, the king of them. But I like Noah's voice notes because they're like 10 seconds max.
Starting point is 00:29:24 Yeah, no, I'm not sitting. Why? Is this me back to the fact that mine are really long? You send like 10 in a row that are all like three minutes long. So long. I said mini podcast. I said to you guys, you know what? I listened to the whole, I listen to all the ones you send last.
Starting point is 00:29:38 It's what I said, when I'm gone, you're going to miss my fucking voice notes. Yeah. Anyways. It's like, he's just mocking me. Because right in the clip that I had sent her, she was like cracking up at one of my... I also sent right before that where I was like,
Starting point is 00:29:58 Marty does not make you laugh. I guess if you remember when someone got... I don't know if they ever talked about that. But we posted a clip and some guy commented and was like, no way Marty makes your laugh like that about Noah.
Starting point is 00:30:11 I was like, what the fuck? So now anytime you laugh, I'm like, no way Marty makes you laugh. There is probably a... small faction of Chicks in the office, Chicks in the office, R-Frist, reboot, Chicks in the Office listeners
Starting point is 00:30:26 that like, Stan, you and Noah. No way. Ew. I just said, I said, small. I said small. Well, there's a, yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:35 I bet you there is. There's a weird thing to say. Chicks in the office fan fiction. Yeah. To be honest, it writes itself. If we were both single, you have both tropes in this, in this scenario.
Starting point is 00:30:47 You got the best. friends to lovers and he got the enemies to lovers. Yeah, you could write it both ways. Right, you totally. That is just the office. Multiverse. Yeah. Well, the truth of the office multiverse.
Starting point is 00:31:03 It's like, it's like Fran. No, I, first of all, I did the, ew! Like, I'm literally like a girl on the, on the playground that's like, ew, not Noah. He's like my best friends. Right. Like, ew, like, he's totally like my. I look at him like he's my brother.
Starting point is 00:31:19 I would never. Like I totally would never. No, I would set Noah up with anybody though. I think Noah is such a catch. Hey. No. I'm going to clip that one thing and just send it to Marty. He is so used to this.
Starting point is 00:31:39 That's what's so funny that we go back to that comment because like I just, Noah does make me laugh really hard, but I laugh like this in. general at all the time, even at myself. Well, this goes back to the... Probably mostly. This goes back to the conversation that we had had that one time of ranking your top funniest friends. I'm pretty sure you had me up there.
Starting point is 00:32:01 I would have you up there for sure. Like he doesn't remember. You said that like he doesn't remember. I'm pretty sure you had me pretty high on there. Noah is not to like... I'm just like pumping up everyone's tires right now. Noah really is so funny. like even more so off the podcast
Starting point is 00:32:19 in a way that I don't think people would even get or not get but just like a lot of inside stuff that he's just very funny in the group chats I'll say I hope. This is me. I heart Noah we're just like this is us
Starting point is 00:32:35 and the inside of the circle and this is you guys. Yeah no imagine you and Noah like your banter, your friend of me was really just because you guys just like Had this insane... Imagine there's like a...
Starting point is 00:32:49 Chicks in the office multiverse. What a scandal that would be good for numbers. Oh my God. If I found out... If we stayed single, what a story that would have been. No, no, no, no. Not even... Diane Reese.
Starting point is 00:33:00 More of the scandal would be if you weren't single. Oh, oh. Obviously. And it's like, I come in and I walk in on you and Noah. But even if... Oh, my God. But even if it was single, like, if one of the members didn't know,
Starting point is 00:33:16 and then found out. Right. But that would have ruined the chemistry. Of course. It would all be over. Yeah. That would be us getting a Yoko Ono. It's just from in-house.
Starting point is 00:33:28 The three of us are headed to Vegas tomorrow, tomorrow night. Hey, what happens in Vegas? Stays in Vegas. That's what they say. I've been going to my notes to grab, to read what I wrote down that I wanted to tell you guys about. And it was about. my laugh and I wrote it in my notes about myself to read to you guys. And now...
Starting point is 00:33:53 What's that quote? Really deep in your notes. I can't find it. Someone said that you should never make fun of people's laughs because then they'll always be self-conscious whenever they want to be like happy or something. Yeah, that only lasts for like a day for me. That didn't really like roll off the tongue. No, no.
Starting point is 00:34:07 No, I... The sentiment is there. Oh, I can't find it. No, you're basically taking away someone's joy. Because then when they're like want to laugh. they're like thinking. Right. And you know what it always brings me back to is Fran's mom once told me how much she loves my laugh. She does love your laugh. And so I hold on to that. Okay, I guess I don't have it anymore, but I did write this down. I guess we'll just have to remember exactly what I said. Exactly. I said instead of reading the note for 10 minutes. I was thinking about how this is so boring. You can just cut this out. I was going to explain it. Matt and I were out to dinner and I was laughing really hard. and I noticed that the couple next to us. I looked over.
Starting point is 00:34:50 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Kind of like, ugh. This laugh is coming out of this girl. You know what I mean? This is like when we talked about being in the movie theaters and I was saying how annoying people are and you're like, that might be. Yeah, right. No, I'm not annoying in the movie theater.
Starting point is 00:35:01 I, whatever. I'm out to dinner and I'm laughing. Sorry. No, you're in a movie theater. I didn't know what I am. Good one, Olivia? That is, like, I'm just like, and I'm like defying. And I'm like, oh, God, they must be looking at me.
Starting point is 00:35:15 Like, this girl is so up. noxious. No, I think it's a level of noxious. It's just like, we're like, wow, that's some laugh. That's a laugh. Yeah, that's, you would be, right. And then you got you and Joe at dinner who are like, well, that's some laugh. You know, that hell of a laugh on that chick.
Starting point is 00:35:31 Right. God. So what's the same about my friend Lauren. She's got that too. Oh, my God. The Lauren cackle is the same thing. You're like, hell of a laugh on on Lauren. Yeah, oh my God.
Starting point is 00:35:40 Laura and I are so similar that way. Yeah, put the two of you in a room and, oh, that laugh would, uh, what, what, What's in Monsters Inc when they have to do all the giggles? The laugh. In Monsters Inc. They don't have to scare anybody because they realize that the laugh brings the energy. Weirdly, I remember. Do you remember the premise of Monsters Inc?
Starting point is 00:36:00 The laugh floor? The laugh floor? Yeah, remember the monsters are like we don't have to keep scaring kids because if they laugh, we get the same juice. I remember my high school boyfriend broke up me after we watched Monsters University together. I never saw that. I, we watched that comment so seriously. We watched Monsters University and it was over.
Starting point is 00:36:21 I'm starting to act like I'm crazy. That is the premise of Monsters Inc. Listen, I don't remember. I don't know. No, it's a scare. Yeah, it is a book. Yes, but then they don't want to scare the kids anymore and they realize that the laugh
Starting point is 00:36:31 has the same power. Yeah, I don't really remember the ending, to be honest. Oh, for the love of God. Anyway, I was just making the comparison that if you put you and Lauren in a room, we'd keep Monster. Yeah, I understand. Yeah, I got the, embarrassing. Yes. I got it. Where did they live? Who?
Starting point is 00:36:51 Not most... Who? The monsters. The monsters. Like in that void. What's that? Okay. Speaking of who. What's that... Susical, the musical. Under the bed. Susical the musical. Yeah. That's what I... Whoville? Susical, the musical. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's when I got lice.
Starting point is 00:37:13 Whatever. We never did Susical. Really? Which ones did you do? No. My, I was in a... very small school of kindergarten or an eighth grade grade play was Aladdin Oh, what part were you? Narrator one, two or three.
Starting point is 00:37:30 There's three of us. As to be expected. You know me, spoken word, that's really my my forte. Right. The acting, the singing, take that out, just straight up narrating what is going on. In between acts, setting the scene. That's what I did. Yeah. Along with my
Starting point is 00:37:48 being on the forensics team. You're on the forensics team? Yeah, which was also just reading prepared monologues and such. What? What does that have to do with forensics reading monologues? It's, uh, yeah, it's the technical, that is the right term for it, and I couldn't really explain it to you. God, I'd love to hit a monologue right now. Can you look up famous monologue? A high school forensics team is a competitive speech and debate team. Oh, okay, so you did speech and debate.
Starting point is 00:38:18 I forgot. That just reminded me. Remember because we got high when we did that and we would have you read scripts scenes? And I did the Joker and it was, you know, chilling. I didn't do it in high school, but I did it in middle school. And I would read, you know, your choice. You could pick from like a book or a chapter or a speech. You have to memorize it and perform it in front of judges. Wow. Yeah. Would they grade you? I don't know. I can't remember those details. That I block out, you know. Right. I barely even remember. I wouldn't have proof. I actually just remembered that I did this one when my mom sent me some old picture. You know what that? No, I need a, you know what was a common one that they would do?
Starting point is 00:39:00 Is Natalie Portman and Leon, the professional. That was one of her first movies. That's a great movie. And I remember doing a monologue from there. And then there was... I've never seen this movie. Really? There was...
Starting point is 00:39:20 She plays Matilda. Yes. Leon, the professional mom, that one. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Anyways. That looks like somebody else doing it.
Starting point is 00:39:30 Right. That was like it was like a common thing. That's like if you uploaded it to YouTube and made it. Yes. Well, that is Natalie Portman's audition, which was very, you know, popular when you're a child, wannabe child's. Oh, she's so young. Yeah, she was 12 years old.
Starting point is 00:39:47 I don't think I realize she was acting at that age. me at that age, they're like, you want to be like this. You want to be like Natalie Portman. She was acting at 12? Leon the professional. Oh, yeah. 1993. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:02 Wow. I don't think I realize that. In my mind, the start of her career is like Star Wars, which is just obviously not true. No more famous. Natalie Portman or Gwyneth Paltrow. Gwyneth Paltrow. Really? I feel like Natalie Portman, she's a lot of.
Starting point is 00:40:19 Star Wars. Yeah, but Gwanda Poudger's an Iron Man, so. That's true, but Natalie Palmer has a bigger role. Yeah, of course. They're both pretty similar, I would say.
Starting point is 00:40:33 Pretty similar. Yeah. Some incredible movies. Yeah. Anyways. Let's get into some topic, shall we? We really went off the rails there. We always say it's going to be a short episode in the interest in an hour. Somehow we just end up talking about.
Starting point is 00:40:48 Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know. Anyways, we'll get into some topics. Pete Davidson did a interview with variety. Some things are going viral from that. He's just kind of turned into just a douchebag. I'm not going to lie. Yeah. And, well, I guess turned into or uncovered? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. And Ariad of Maddox will be starring in a new show on Peacock, a scripted series so exciting called Future Housewives. And we have a great game of trivia. So let's get into it. This is brought to you by Chase Sapphire Preferred. All right, Fran. I have to ask. And I feel. I feel like I know the question because I know you pretty well.
Starting point is 00:41:24 Are you one of those people who actually maximizes those travel rewards? Or are you just booking flights and hotels and hoping for the best? I mean, I have definitely gotten better and smarter about it. And honestly, one card that I've generally been loving for travel is the Chase Saffir preferred card. It makes me feel a little better every time I book a trip because I'm earning points on things that I'd be paying for anyway. Same. And what I like is that either whether you're booking flights, hotels or even vacation homes with top brands, like Airbnb in Verbo, everything could stack up pretty quickly.
Starting point is 00:41:54 So you can earn five times the points on travel through Chase Travel, three times the points on dining, plus three times the points on those vacation homes. So if you're looking for a card that rewards the way you travel, dine, and explore, check out the Chase Sapphire Preferred and learn more at Chase.com slash Sapphire Preferred. That's Chase.com slash Sapphire Preferred. Card issued by J.B. Morgan Chase Bank and a member FDIC, subject to credit approval, terms apply.
Starting point is 00:42:19 So Pete Davidson did this interview with Variety And he talked about a whole bunch of things He talked about dating Kim Kardashian He talked about Ariana Grande He talked about becoming a father He talked about TikTokers Now that's the clip that's being shared Going viral right now
Starting point is 00:42:36 Just an obnoxious outdated take From a guy who Is a comedian Who was just like a lazy joke You know? And he thought he was being funny Yeah he thought he was being funny I think he thought people would be like
Starting point is 00:42:49 Ha ha that's so true But then it just came off of as a pretty lazy comment. Right. And he's acting like he's out there saving lives when he's also making millions of dollars off of being a comedian. Yeah. And it's just a different form of entertainment.
Starting point is 00:43:04 Yes. Is some influencing do you go, oh my God, how the fuck are they making this much money? But good for them. They figured out an avenue. That's great. Good for them. I'm not hating on anyway that people are out there trying to entertain people, get an audience, get money, whatever.
Starting point is 00:43:19 It's just a weird take from somebody who gets money from entertaining people. And the crazy comparison too is like, you know, he's talking about get ready with me is in these things. It's like, oh, who cares all this things? They're just talking themselves. Like, get ready with me. Who the fuck are you?
Starting point is 00:43:36 It was like, well, why would you? You could say the same thing about the, he wouldn't say that about the young comedian that's going to try stand up for the first time. And what is the one of the audience to be like, oh, who the fuck is this guy? Who? cares. People are also like you dated Kim Kardashian.
Starting point is 00:43:51 You're trying. Kim Kardashian maybe the biggest at first influencer of all. And it's it was a lazy tape. It was lazy. It was just lazy and lame. And I felt like he thought he was being funny. It's not funny. Because really if you think about it, you know, if he's getting on stage
Starting point is 00:44:07 or he's filming a special, he's making jokes, he's trying to make people laugh. Same way a girl is getting on and doing her makeup and at the same time telling a story about her date and trying to be funny and trying to hit punchlines and trying to like deuce it up so that people comment and people laugh. You're just trying to make people laugh in different forms.
Starting point is 00:44:24 And also not talking to themselves, they're talking to an audience. Lots of people. Lots of people watch these videos and are entertained and feel like they're friends and they find a sense of comfort in watching their favorite creators. So it was really just a very, very bizarre take from Pete. And it also seemed he was like upset that they get paid so much money. It's like, bro, I really, it was a big turnoff for me.
Starting point is 00:44:47 I've been turned off by Pete Davis. in lately, but this really turned me off from him. I also didn't love the Kim quote. What did he say again? It was like something about how we're all like, he survived Kim Kardashian. Yeah, yeah, that they're, I'm one of the survivors. Go back to that one. He said, I'm one of the survivors. The few of the proud were like the Marines. It's like also kind of a bad joke. Yeah, and he said, look, man. A lot of bad jokes in this interview. Look, man, that's a really tough atmosphere. If you're not game, one of the things I love about Kim and that whole family is they're like, this is what we do. I found that very attractive and
Starting point is 00:45:16 mature. I was never subjected to anything. I didn't want to be a part. I was. I was never subjected to anything I didn't want to be a part of. She was super respectful of all of it, but the craze of that lifestyle being filed everywhere, having security and looking over your shoulder for a guy with mental stuff and at the time drug problems was a little too much for me, but we're cool and I have a lot of love for her and I knew I was getting into. So, the follow-up makes sense. Right, but the first initial joke was just terrible. So classic, oh, I do to Kim Kardashian or I survived, whatever. Fuck off. Anyways, he also talked about his struggle with drugs and alcohol as well. He was saying during a period of time, he was doing shrew.
Starting point is 00:45:47 he was doing acid he was cooking ketamine he was eating pills and he was smoking weed whipits um and he said it got scary because i didn't feel high i felt high when i wasn't doing it so i was like this is a huge problem uh yeah that makes a ton of sense i feel like there is value in what he's saying here and sharing here right like the other shit he was saying piss me off but i think that him saying that exact sentence. I felt high when I wasn't doing it. I feel like a lot of people that are in that position can relate to that feeling, right? When you realize, oh, I actually feel my normal self. I'm doing this so much now. I feel normal when I am high. And when I'm not high, I don't feel normal. Yeah. So, you know, that's sad, but I'm glad that he is clean now. He said he had an emotional call with
Starting point is 00:46:45 his mom, convince him to get clean. So obviously her biggest fear was losing him. So for a couple years, he's been clean now. He said the hardest part for him was weed. Yeah. Which I feel like weed is just one of those things that people don't see or they say like, you can't get addicted to weed. I disagree with that.
Starting point is 00:47:07 I think it very much becomes like a habit. It can become something where like, yeah. Like I remember when I was smoking all. the time in that way when I wasn't smoking I didn't feel good so then I would smoke to feel good and that you know what I'm saying so then you yeah yeah yeah I understand what he was talking about with the you know with the weed stuff and I think when people say that you can't be addicted to weed I don't think that makes much sense that's what he said he said the hardest thing the stop was weed you can be addicted to anything right and I the weed is not addictive like cocaine but but it's
Starting point is 00:47:45 I think it's just because it's not as strong and obviously weed is used medicinally and there's other great purposes for weed. But so people find a way to be like it's not addictive. But in my opinion, it totally can be. Well, it's just like I just think you can you can get so used to and addicted to like a habit. Right. You know? I eat a lot of pretzels every day. Like you get addicted to snacking.
Starting point is 00:48:13 Yeah. Yeah. Well, that is a real thing. No, that is a real thing. That's a very real addiction. Yeah. So, yeah, he talked talked about that, removing his tattoos.
Starting point is 00:48:23 Which I feel like he's been doing for like five years now. Yeah. He's got a lot of them, so probably would take a pretty long time. Obviously, very sad. You know, he had struggled with self-harm. And so he used some of the tattoos to cover that up, which is obviously very sad. So, yeah, I mean, he had some interesting things.
Starting point is 00:48:44 to say in this interview. But unfortunately, the things that are getting clipped are the obnoxious, lazy, lame takes that he had about. Right. It's just like you don't just have to, you don't have to bash people. And I do, and I know that I saw this thought very much when it was happening with the Dairy Boy, like with, you know, with Paige going against the Antucket Basket people. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:12 And that stuff. where it does feel like sometimes an innately, like misogynistic opinion because most influencers are women. And so it's like, oh, when you are saying that like, oh, who the fuck cares about what you're doing? It's like, well, there's a really large group of women that are doing this now. And it works for them.
Starting point is 00:49:36 And it's a real thing. And it's a real job and all those things. And it's like, and they are getting paid a lot of money for it. And there's a lot of, there's a lot of jobs out there that people go, I couldn't believe, do you make that much money from that job? Like, that's part of life.
Starting point is 00:49:53 Yeah, that's life. So, yeah. That's what the people say. Yeah. That is what. Were you not just singing? Yes, yes, yes. You were looking at me like, what are you,
Starting point is 00:50:04 you clearly were singing the song. I was, I was, I was. Just wanted you to feel left out. She was. Yes. Yes. Now, like, look, if he wanted to, like, really work out this take and have it be, you know, oh, I think it's crazy that ex person and the pro this and that may make millions and millions
Starting point is 00:50:28 and millions of dollars and, you know, our teachers and our nurses and all these, you know, very important jobs. Like, there's something of substance there. Of course. He turned it into, like, just, oh, who the fuck cares about these chicks? Right. When he is somebody who makes millions of dollars being an entertainer. And they're just trying to entertain people. And you are somebody that does this and also get paid a shit ton of money. Right. I'd love to know what the price tag was on that Netflix podcast, Pete. So you know what I mean? Like I. You're also joining, you know, you're joining the podcast game. You're joining like. Right. Please. Like let's see those last few. Contracts you signed. Can you say that some are influencers are annoying? Yeah. Yeah. But that's. That doesn't mean that it's like.
Starting point is 00:51:14 And once again, that's life. Right, that's life. That's just people in general can be annoying. Yeah. I feel like recently hasn't he said like he doesn't want to be known just for like who he dates, whatever. But then this whole interview is like him talking about multiple of his like most famous ex-girlfriends. Well, what's so tough and this is what happens when you are the guy that dates all these people is no matter what every interview you do, you're going to be asked about it.
Starting point is 00:51:37 Like I don't blame him as much for that because it's like he's not out of the blue bringing you. up all of his exes. He's being asked about them and he's always going to be asked about them. If he didn't want that to happen, that's, you know, I... But here's the thing, at a certain point, you have to say less. You know, like, that's on him. He's going to be asked about him. If he's asked about Dandy Kim and he just said, we had a good time. There's no follow up. That doesn't go viral. No one cares. It's like, oh, they had a good time. He's okay. I survived Kim Kardashian. That makes, that doesn't make the headline. You just move on. And once more people move on, the less you're going to be asked about it. But if the
Starting point is 00:52:16 interviewer knows that he could potentially say, is to have some potential punchline that he has written joke about, we're like the Marines, well, then they're going to ask because it's going to get picked up. So that's on him. It's just a lazy joke. I mean, it's not even funny. Like, you know, no, no, no. Low hanging fruit. Yeah, it is. It totally is. Both of them. Last topic, quickly, Ariana Maddox will be starring in a new peacock scripted series called Future Housewives. This is so fun. I'm so happy for
Starting point is 00:52:49 getting into a scripted show. This is her lifelong dream. She's always wanted to be an actress and it is set in the decadent asteroid colony of New Beverly Hills where wealthy socialites juggle bioengineered beauty regimens, ruthless rivalries and interplanetary
Starting point is 00:53:05 scandals. So this kind of sounds like... That is not what I thought of. It's like... like alien real housewives. With Desperate Housewives, alien style. What's that show that we were watching that Anthony Ramos came on to promote
Starting point is 00:53:19 I'm playing out on the name. The Beauty? The Beauty. It's like that kind of A little bit of the beauty. Yeah, but I think this is like on an another planet. Right. I mean it's on an asteroid. Yeah, I think that this is going to be like Desperate Housewives taking place in space. That's pretty sick. Yeah, it's a different take. When a young starry-eyed outsider unexpectedly
Starting point is 00:53:40 appends their glamorous world exposes just how far they've drifted out of touch. So satirical, superficial. Right. And it's being made by Fuzzy Door, which is... Seth McFarlane. Seth McFarland. And I feel like he loves like a...
Starting point is 00:53:57 Alien stuff. Yeah. To put in layman's terms, alien stuff. He's made a lot of shows about aliens and space. Right. Yeah. The Orville.
Starting point is 00:54:10 Yeah, yeah. I think that this is so fun. I'm so happy for her. She will be playing the outsider. Yes. That comes into the area. That's awesome. It has to infiltrate the group.
Starting point is 00:54:20 This is great, like you said, a dream. I feel like this is what she always wanted to do. And it really is so crazy. I mean, she's going to look back. And she probably is thinking about it even now, but she's going to look back in decades and think, like, I went to L.A.
Starting point is 00:54:38 I had a dream of doing the whole, being in showbiz, stumbles into this reality show, gets her heartbroken for the world to see, and that ends up catapulting her into the career that she always wanted. It's really crazy. Catapult, by the way. Like, she's just, like, really.
Starting point is 00:55:00 She handled it perfectly. She handled it so pristine. Like, any, here's the thing, she just, she laid out the blueprint for anybody now, and we've seen it not work. We've seen people not follow the blueprint of what happens now if you have one of these big reality TV scandals
Starting point is 00:55:20 and how you can parlay that into everything that you've ever wanted, which is amazing. And even like, I think about it with Whitney, you know, she ends up on Secret Lives and Mormon Wives. Reality TV isn't exactly what she wants to be doing. And she gets shit for it by walking in and being like, I want in my contract that I get to try out to be in scripted stuff.
Starting point is 00:55:45 And the show falls apart. Everything's a disaster. But she fought for what she wanted and she knew she was going to try and parlay that into a different career. And now she did the same thing, the Broadway, you know, from the Broadway show to trying to do scripted, acting, all those things. So there's like once, like I said, the blueprint is there. It just depends on how well you can execute. and Ariana just executed it perfectly.
Starting point is 00:56:12 And isn't that beautiful? Yeah, it really is. Because, you know, no one's even thinking about what's his face is doing. I can't even remember who you're talking about. Exactly. Like, you know, we watch a bunch of the TV shows
Starting point is 00:56:26 and it's like, he's just, he's just floated away. Yeah, you know when the Wall Street when Matthew McConae does that? Yeah. Yep. I can't do it like him. Yeah, yeah. But.
Starting point is 00:56:38 I know what you're saying. I know what you're saying. Yeah. That one scene. That, I bet, is shown in acting classes for years to come. McConaughey and Leo in that Wolf of Wall Street scene. Yeah. Because it left such an impact for such a small role. The two of them out to dinner and some of it's improvised and he starts doing this thing. And then you see Leo look off because he's not sure what McConaug is doing and he looks off and apparently. the director and everyone was like and so he just kept going along with it and that is the beauty of filmmaking
Starting point is 00:57:16 that is being in tinseltown did you guys, is brothers out I watched! I watched! Is it the whole show or just an episode? Man I'd love to take a trip to Paris this time of year. God! They were both hanging off a cliff
Starting point is 00:57:34 Who would I save one? Who would you serve? McConnor or Harrelson? Yeah. McConnor. Really? Zach quickly you decided. I would save McConaughey. Why?
Starting point is 00:57:42 I love the way he talks. Is that it? Damn. Like that's the only thing. And Woody's like, wow, that's the only reason why I don't, why I got to go. You know I love Woody. I know you do. I know you do.
Starting point is 00:57:52 I don't even, you think he's a hear me out. I think he's a hear me out. I think people would think Woody Harrelson to hear me out. I don't think. Current day, yeah. Current day. I mean, Woody in White Men Can't Jump is not a hear me out. That's just a let me in.
Starting point is 00:58:06 Do you watch any of any of any. Andrew Garfield on Gooding. Oh my God. My God, I was smiling near to year watching the whole thing. And he was talking about playing basketball. Let me tell you. When Amy Bowler asked him if he's method and she goes, and if so, who was speaking with? She's my favorite person on her.
Starting point is 00:58:22 I can't. I'd actually watched that episode multiple times. When they open with, he's like, it's touch. Yeah. And she was like, she goes, damn. It was so good. So good. So good.
Starting point is 00:58:35 That whole episode was amazing. Yeah, I would save McConaughey. I can listen to him to talk all day long. He was on New Heights and he told the story of how he got his role in Days and Confuse. Yeah. And how it just the guy was like, show up with this script, da-da-da. And then he gets on set and he like doesn't know what to say or do. So he just goes, all right, all right, all right to start the scene.
Starting point is 00:58:58 And then that's it. Yeah. So he said he'll never get tired. Yeah. Because it's like, it came from him. You know, I never, because I've never seen. that movie. And when he did the Oscar speech and said that,
Starting point is 00:59:10 I thought that was like the first. I thought people were just like, wow, that's awesome. I didn't get that it was like a reference. Oh, wow. That's embarrassing. Yeah. That's embarrassing. It's really embarrassing. Is the whole season out of this fucking? Oh, my God. He's Googling away. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:59:28 I'm waiting for him to show up on the screen to answer my question. No, the whole season is not an episode. Okay. Eight episode. The first two episodes. episodes were out and then the rest come out on Wednesdays. Okay, plenty of time. Okay, so.
Starting point is 00:59:41 Apple is like a weekly type. Yeah, they are. They are really are. Okay, so only three episodes are out now. But they like that, like, they like where they put out one to three episodes and a week to week. Is it like funny? The vibe is funny and the vibe is they're playing themselves in, like, their own names.
Starting point is 00:59:56 Their own names. They're playing Matthew and Woody. Yes. But it's like. Yeah, they're playing like caricatures of themselves. Yes. Yeah. They're playing themselves.
Starting point is 01:00:04 Like Woody, Matthew. Dramatized. versions. Yeah, it's scripted, but they're playing them. They find out that they could be brothers. I feel like Matthew McConaughey is already playing himself in the world, you know? Right. I feel like he's playing Matthew McConae at all times. I want to sit down with Matthew McConaughey so bad, so bad.
Starting point is 01:00:22 It seemed we really missed our window of them. They did like 18,000 podcasts. Yeah, they said they don't even realize that they could come here and have the time of their life. One side of the cliff are Steve Martin and Martin Short hanging. Oh, my gosh. is Matt McConnor. And Woody Harrelson, who are you saving? Which pair?
Starting point is 01:00:40 Steve and Martin lived a long life. He's not that much older than them. Woody Harrison, 65? Steve Martin did not... He's younger. That's Steve... Oh, wait. That's automotive designer Steve Matton.
Starting point is 01:00:59 Okay, Steve Martin's 81. I was going to say, Steve Martin's 61. Steve Madden. Typo. This is me. This is me at the end of the cliff. That's all it takes. You know Martin Shore would be cracking you up hanging.
Starting point is 01:01:15 Like he's making jokes. Like, please. Martin Shore's got 20 years on McConaughey. And they have lived such a long, fulfilled life. Like, it's. I'll be saying Steve Martin and Martin Shore, no question. I got to be honest, it's really not up for debate for me.
Starting point is 01:01:29 I feel like, but you know what it would be kind of? I think Matthew and Woody would actually be like really okay. with what's about to happen? Like, they're like calm. Matthew would be like, save them. No, no, Matthew would, all right, all right. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:43 Just save them. And I, and then I would. It would be like aim for the bushes. And I feel like Martin and Steve would be like panicking. Oh, I kind of think opposite. No, no. Oh. Yeah, I think opposite.
Starting point is 01:01:55 Matthew McCona doesn't sweat. And I know. And Woody's high as fuck all the time. No, no. I think, you know, Matthew's got a lot of young kids still. I think there's a panic there. This got way too real. You're making you real.
Starting point is 01:02:09 Yeah, yeah. But you know what? Here's a problem. When you ask the question, then you get real because you got to debate what it is. Anyways, I'm taking the tip of my big toe and I'm kicking Stephen Martin off the cliff and I'm saving these two. It's not just Steve Martin.
Starting point is 01:02:20 You're kicking Martin short off too? You have to kick two off of tape two. It's a pair. You keep saying Steve and Martin. You're not mentioning Martin. No, I'm saying Steve and Martin. They just happen to have the last name and the first name are the same. She's saying Steve and Martin.
Starting point is 01:02:35 Oh, I thought you're just saying Steve Martin. Wait, so when you said Steve Martin's loved a good life, you said Steve and Martin? Yes, Steve and Martin. This whole time she's been talking about love of that. I'm not just targeting Steve Martin like that. No, that's not saying, why are you like picking on Steve Martin so much? I swear, I haven't seen.
Starting point is 01:02:51 It sounds like a direct attack on Steve Martin. It is Steve and Martin. I'm kicking them both off. Got it, got it. One, two. Bye-bye. Wow, just like that. Yeah, what would you do?
Starting point is 01:03:02 Just like that. I told you. I wouldn't even think I would go to a market. It's John Meyer. Say Martin and Steve. It's John Mayer. Yeah. And Susan.
Starting point is 01:03:12 And Susan Tedeski. And on the other side. Oh, they're paired? No, no, they're paired. John and Susan are paired. And then what's trucks? David. David.
Starting point is 01:03:25 Wait, wait, what? No, who's trucks? Derek. Derek. Derek. You're separating the husband and wife so they have to lose each other. And Marcus King. Ooh.
Starting point is 01:03:37 John and Susan or Derek and Markets? Why would you do that to Susan and Derek? You're separating them so that one of them has to die. I'm saving John and Susan then. Well, because here's the thing. You're going like, if you would, if Derek and Susan wants that, you're like, well, the merry couple, you know? Here's my...
Starting point is 01:03:52 Right, you're saving the married couple. Here's my thought process on that. John and... John, not that he could ever replace Derek in Tedescue Trucks, man, but Derek plays guitar. John plays guitar. No, we're seeing about the logistics of the band. go and play with Susan now.
Starting point is 01:04:07 Derek doesn't sing. Derek doesn't sing. I guess Marcus could sing for him, but it wouldn't be the same. John and Susan then fall in love and we get songs sung blue, too. I feel bad even saying this. Susan and Derek are perfect.
Starting point is 01:04:24 All right. I almost want to cut that. It makes its way to Susan and Derek. No, no. Don't do it. All right. Anyways, that wraps at the top. All right, let's get into a great game of Beat Rian Fran presented by State Farm.
