Not is it only a long week? It's a long-ass day we're having.
Yeah, me and you, we're having a long day.
But we're having a long day because this whole week we have been dragging ass.
Yeah, no, we just haven't been doing anything.
We procrastinated everything we had to do to the end of the week.
Absolutely. It happens.
But you know what's getting me through this day?
Is that I've been wearing my slippers.
Yeah. I saw them.
I've been wearing my slippers that I got from Macy's all day.
And it's been such a delight.
I was like, am I going to wear real shoes to the office today?

I don't know about you guys.
It's like I was talking to my mom about my allergies and she was like, why do you have allergies?
It's not even allergy season.
I was like, it's always allergy season for me now.
I got to go to an allergist.
I think I'm allergic to dust.
Ragweed, is that a thing?
I don't know what that is.
Yeah.
I think apparently that's flaring up in New York right now.
So my allergies have just been out of control.
They've been so bad.
I wake up swollen.
I can't breathe.
I think it's just also because I was living in a place with such fresh air for a long
enough time where now I'm back in my apartment and it's just dusty and old building and
crammed inside.
They're turning the heat on.
I just bought an air purifier.
Woo!
Fancy!
I am excited for that bad boy to arrive because I hope it helps.
That sounds beautiful.
I might have to invest in one as well.
Fran.
Yep. What I want everyone to do today, especially because it's Friday.
This is a good Friday assignment. It is a good Friday assignment.
Everybody, start getting my hums back into your music rotation.
What you're going to do with all that junk? All that junk inside your trunk.
I'm a get, get you drunk get you love junk off my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my lovely little lumps.
Check it out.
feel like that song, you know, obviously it gets the people going.
Yeah.
But I feel like it got to a point where when, what was the movie?
Blades of Glory came out.
And Will Ferro was like, uh-huh, uh-huh, on the treadmill.
People started getting over it.
They were like, okay, we've, my hump is too much.
It was overplayed for quite some time.
And people started forgetting about it.
And they were like, we can't listen.
Enough time has passed for you to start listening in your daily rotation.
I have a few songs I listen to every single day.
No joke.
Every day I listen to the same music.
I have added my humps into the rotation.
That's amazing.
I got to say.
It's me going.
Yeah, it is definitely one that does.
But you told me this in such a funny way before we started the podcast because now, and I've
we talk all the time about how we got to write the shit down.
So now I feel like when a thought pops in your head, you put it in your notes.
Because before you were like, oh, what did I want to talk about in the intro?
I wrote it down.
you paused, you opened your notes app, and it was just one thing. And it said, everyone should put
my humps back in their music rotation. But you said it so calmly, you were like, oh, yeah,
everybody needs to start playing my humps again. I was like, oh, okay, that's what you want to talk about?
Sure. Well, it needs to happen. Just because I'm trying to give everyone that Friday energy on a
Friday. I did have something else written down. Yeah. In the notes. Okay. And I was not sure if I wanted
to talk about it or not. But since you said I only wrote one thing down, I wanted to clarify. I did write two
things down. But you were iffy on the second thing? It was actually the first thing I wrote down. Oh, okay.
I want to buy a grill for my teeth. Uh, that's, I'm going to absolutely ask that. I know, I know, I know.
Absolutely not. Not, I would never wear it. You just want to own it. I just want to become rich enough to get a sick grill that
says Ria. Okay. And only wear it for like a picture one time. Okay. I'm not there yet. But I feel like
getting a diamond and crusted grill where I'm talking about, then money on stupid stuff.
shit like that. Yeah, I'm talking about your teeth, guys. I don't want people to think I want like a
George Formen grill. No, no, no. Yeah, you're talking about grills with a Z. Yeah, grills. Grills by Nellie
to be exact. And also, I've been listening to that song too much as well. That's why I thought
about it. I was like, you know, when people get rich and famous, they buy grills.
And, you know, maybe I'll get there one day. That was the other thing I wrote down. Don't want to
talk too much about it. I don't want you to get them, but I hope you reach that level where you have the
choice. And get you on as well. I don't want one. No, just to
have just a half. There's so many other things I would rather get that had diamonds in them than grills. What do you want me to buy you? I, you can get me a freaking diamond necklace that says Fran. Fran and Ria. Yeah. Would you wear something? F plus R in a heart and in diamonds. Yeah. Would you wear something like that if I got you something with both our names on it? I don't even know where this came from. I'm not even thinking about doing that. I don't know. Because I feel like it might seem like we're dating. We kind of.
Kind of her.
Yeah, I know that.
In some aspects.
But to strangers.
To strangers, right.
They'll be like, don't you both have boyfriends?
Yeah.
And we'd be like, yeah, but we also have a girlfriend as well.
Correct.
That makes sense.
Well, listen, I'm not rich enough to do any of that yet.
So I'm not going to buy you diamond encrusted anything.
So this conversation was pointless.
So let's get on with the show.
Yeah.
Do you have anything else that you're feeling today?
How are you feeling as a person in life?
My allergies.
What?
What's the mood?
The mood level.
Mood is good.
Let's get another adjective besides good.
You know what my acting teacher taught me growing up?
Never use the word good.
Yeah, yeah.
You've told me this many times.
Because everybody uses the word good.
Yeah.
You got to stand out, Francesca.
Try a different adjective.
My mood is fluffy.
No.
That's not the right word.
Okay.
What is your?
mood. It's...
Asi, I see, I see.
It's Spanish for
okay.
You don't know that?
No, I did with that just came out of nowhere.
I immediately got a flashback to when...
See, you see.
To when my, in middle school,
not even middle school was at grade school,
our Spanish teacher, Senora Cadavid,
would ask us how we were all doing at the beginning of the class
and we all had to answer in Spanish.
And if anybody said,
I'll see a CSE, everyone would laugh.
Because it's the best response you can get.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, we know how Noah's feeling.
I'm not a CUC though.
Like, I'm more than okay.
I would just describe my mood.
Mood is hopeful.
That is.
I feel good about the weekending.
I'm hopeful for the weekend.
Okay, cool.
I like that word.
We have a big game tonight.
Yeah, I was going to say the episode,
everyone can laugh at me if the Eagles lose,
but the Eagles are playing the Giants tonight,
Thursday night of football.
So, you know, I'm hoping.
that there's a win out of that.
So right now, hopeful.
Hopefully I like that.
Yeah.
I like that.
That's a good one.
This is something else I wanted to say, which is not about me at all, but I think we sort
of ignored it this week and I felt like it was wrong of us.
We didn't really acknowledge Kim Kardashian turning 40 and I feel like that's pretty iconic.
And I just want to wish Kim a happy 40th birthday.
I know everybody on Planet Earth wished her a happy birthday.
She reposted a billion stories on Instagram.
But happy birthday.
40.
Kim Kardashian.
40.
You know what?
Happy birthday.
I watched her David Letterman interview on Netflix.
And I want to say I fucking love Kim Kardashian.
You know, people, this is something else I want to talk about, but I refrained from
writing it in my notes, but I'm glad you brought it up.
Okay.
People shit on the Kardashians, especially men who don't like to see powerful.
woman like the Kardashians, shit on them left and right. You know, girls will shit on them.
People really just tear them down. They are so strong. It's incredible. They really don't get
credit for being as strong as they are. Watching this interview, they have been through so much.
And obviously, they are very fortunate. They are, you know, they are money out of their asses,
ears, every body part of their like, it's insane. Their asses are money. Yeah, literally. Yeah. They bought them.
But anyways. Um, the.
They are just so successful.
Obviously, we know that.
But they also have been through so much.
Think about it.
Even when they were kids and their dad was OJ's lawyer.
And they're caught in between their dad and Chris Jenner picking different sides in a murder trial.
And they're so young.
They're dealing with that.
Then they have their stepdad.
Bruce turns into Caitlin.
They have Kim, you know, getting robbed.
Kim's robbery people like laugh at.
And that was so atrocious.
It's so atrocious.
The story that she tells, I would.
Just sobbing, sobbing,
listening to it.
And I just feel like they have been through so much
and they continue to just push through.
People give them shit.
They keep on carrying on and they make money.
And they're saying nice things about them too as people.
In the industry,
I feel like I have heard that they are very professional
and on time and, you know,
are friendly people.
So give them a lot of credit for that.
Kim seems like a sneaky, hilarious person too.
Like, I don't know why I laugh so hard at this,
but Steph Shep posted all these pictures for Kim's birthday,
and one of them was a screenshot of texts with,
and it's like an accidental photo Kim took of herself,
so it's like the top corner of her face, like in the photo.
And she just goes, oh, M.G, don't know how or why I sent you that, L.O.L.
And it's just so funny, like, thinking that I don't even know,
because Kim sometimes doesn't even feel like a real person.
But also, Steph Shep has Kim and her phone is just KKK.
And I feel like that's really cool, like, to just have somebody's initials.
Yeah.
Well, you can't write Kim Kardashian because then when people see your phone, I know, I know.
I know.
I feel like that's an assistant thing because, you know, Steph is obviously working for them.
At some point, I think assistants do that.
If they work for a celebrity, they put the initials in the phone instead of the, yeah.
Right.
Yeah, no, she's definitely very funny.
She said to David Letterman, she was like, I hope this doesn't offend you, but I told Kendall
and Kylie I was going on Letterman and they were like, who?
And it just, she's so honest.
Yeah.
And obviously it was a funny moment.
And it's so obviously cliche to be like, oh, we love the Kardashians.
But I really think that they're good people and everyone just wants to make them out to seem bad because they, you know, were reality stars and got a living off of showing their life.
But even she was saying, she was like, I think it's really hard what we've done.
And people may say it's easy.
And they're like, oh, they got their entire lives are public.
Nothing about them is private whatsoever.
and to have so many people judging your life and for you to turn out like, they're not normal,
but normal as a human being in some sense. Right. It can still have a conversation with someone.
Exactly. So I give them credit. Happy birthday. Happy 40th.
Happy 40th. I wish she was really, I know they did a little surprise thing for her at a different
time, but like I really wish that Kim could have thrown some fucking massive 40th banger. You know it
would have been unbelievable. It would have been unbelievable. You sounded like we would have
there we wouldn't. I did make it sound like we missed out on the party. I'm talking about missing out
on just watching the social media from the party. What a sad life we live. Yeah, exactly. I'm like,
I'm like, damn, those Instagram stories would have been sweet. Would have been popping. But no,
we didn't get that. But that's okay. Happy birthday, Kim Kardashian. Also, Halloween is coming up. I want to
touch on that for a second. It's like it doesn't even exist. I don't really think it does. I might
skip Halloween this year. I think you can afford to skip Halloween this year because you have
I've never skipped a Halloween.
I have skipped Halloween for the last three years.
I am dedicated to Halloween, but now it's like you can't do anything anyway.
What am I going to do?
Exactly.
I'm going to dress up with my sister.
And go eat at a restaurant outside.
No, no, no.
We got to do what we said.
Dress up, take pictures.
Yeah.
I'm going to go home to my house in Long Island this weekend.
Yeah.
I'm going to dress up.
I'm going as...
With your fam.
Yeah.
That'll be nice.
With my fam.
I'm going to dress up as Shigo, the villain from Kim Possible.
And I think Hank is going to be Kim Possible.
That's fantastic.
That is fantastic.
Because he can't figure out a costume and I'm like, just be impossible.
Yeah.
It just works.
And he's like, all right, fine, I guess.
That would be very funny.
I support that.
And it sucks because I actually think Joe and I had a great costume this year and
like an idea, but I feel like we have nowhere to wear it and I don't want to waste it, you know?
Yeah.
Well, maybe you'll find something to come up at the last second.
And also, I'm just not prepared.
Like, the ideas in my head, but like I don't have anything ordered.
I don't want to go to the store.
I'm just feeling very lazy about Halloween this year.
I really am.
Fair enough.
I just want to eat the candy.
I'll just get some candy.
Yeah, why not?
Let's go to CBS after this and just get some candy.
Why freaking not?
Okay.
I think it's time to get into today's tutate.
I can't speak.
It's the topics.
It's the topics.
It's time to get into today's topics.
We will be talking about dancing with the stars.
Yosef from The Bachelorette.
We got some drama, juicy, juicy hot tea.
that you guys will want to hear.
Miley Cyrus has communicated with aliens now.
So we have more alien talk and chrises.
We're talking about the chrises because the world decided to talk about the chrises.
And I'm honestly fucking pissed off.
Because we've been talking about the chrises for so long in our top four chrysalis.
And all of a sudden it went viral on Twitter and it became national news and made all these headlines.
And we've been doing this for years.
I know.
So I'm pissed about that.
But we're going to talk about it.
Every time we've tweeted it, that in our tweets, not the one that popped off.
And so it was someone else's that's all right.
Well, you know what?
We're losers.
It's okay.
Anyways, we also have an amazing interview.
Listen.
Guys, if you are ready to just sit back, relax, and enjoy a nice interview on a Friday,
it's this interview with Luke Bracey.
It's so good.
And I know that we say that about every...
It's calming.
I know we say that about every interview we do because we have to.
But with Luke, it was a genuine...
He's Australian.
He's Australian.
love an Australian accent. He's pretty to look at. That's really all you need to know.
He's pretty to look at all. You can't see him. You can look him up. And it was a genuine
conversation. I love when we have celebrities or actors, actresses, whoever it is, come on
the show. Yes. And you have a genuine conversation and you feel like, hey, we can be ourselves
here. We could have talked to him for so long. Oh, absolutely. And, you know, when when the guest gives
thought out answers and wants you to participate in their reply, it just was a really, really good
conversation in a really good Friday interview. So everyone, you know, if you skip the interviews,
maybe if you're not into that sort of thing, if you're not into whoever we have on the show and you
skip it. Don't skip this one. I'm telling you. Trust us. You're going to love it. So let's get into
the damn show. Starting off with Dancing with the Stars. We have not talked about Dancing with the Stars the
past two weeks. We got a little caught up with the new schedule. We weren't sure when to talk about
dancing with the Stars. But we're going to talk about it today. So dominating with The Bachelor.
Exactly. So we know that people want to hear about it. If you watched Dancing with the Stars,
we're going to talk about it. Personally, I did not watch this week. I only saw Nellie's performance.
So I'm going to give the floor to Fran and really just let out all your dancing with the Starz's
thoughts. You only saw Nellie's performance because I played it for you. Because you played it for me.
Yes. To be honest, I really am loving Dancing with the Stars right now. And I think it's because the,
I think it's just because the celebrities are really good.
Like everybody is getting better and better.
So it's been, I don't know, it's just been really fun to watch.
And it's actually, it's interesting because I always think like so many of these contestants share these deep stories, right?
And it's, I don't know if maybe you don't like,
see what else everybody is sharing because
like Jeannie had talked about her
family escaping Vietnam and how they survived
this insane journey to make it to America
and to create a new life for their family
and it was so tear
tear produced like it was just hard
really hard not to cry to be honest
really hard not to cry about it.
And it was
And on top of that,
Criselle also talked about
her parents,
like losing her parents kind of back to back.
And
they,
she did a contemporary
and it was just very emotional as well.
But I just feel like
I don't know if some of these contestants
know what other
people are talking about in these moments because sometimes it's funny when one contestant goes
from telling something really, really deep and it's very emotional. And then the next contestant
is like, let's do this dance because I don't have, like it's, you know, it's almost like
you feel pressure to have a sad story to tell. Even like Vernon Davis was about his grandfather,
he was raised by his grandparents and his grandfather had passed.
And then after that, after his grandfather passed,
it was when he was still playing.
And he had like one of the best plays of his career of all time after his
grandpa had passed.
And he felt like his, you know, his grandfather was with him.
It was all a great night.
And then at the end, I felt sad because Vernon was the one who was sent home.
But everybody is so good now that it's hard.
Sky had a little slip up with.
We don't need to talk about it.
She messed up a little bit,
a little slip.
You texted Noah and I in a fret.
She got bad scores.
I was nervous.
I did.
I was like,
I texted them both.
It was like,
guys, sky just slipped.
I don't want to talk to what.
And it was,
it was okay.
She was voted through,
but I really enjoyed Vernon a lot,
like so much that I did vote for him.
Like, normally I vote for Caitlin and whoever else,
like I really like on the night.
And I voted for Vernon.
I voted for Nelly.
Nellie doing a V&E waltz is why I dance
with the stars is an amazing, just an amazing show. You watched him do that dance. He was gliding on the
floor, his hands, his beautiful arm motions. Listen, I love Nelly. I straight up, love Nellie. I think
Nellie is sexy as fuck. Like, obviously, we all know that, but everyone just needs to be reminded
because I sometimes just sit back and watch his old music videos because I'm like, Nellie is so hot.
Yeah.
So it makes watching him dancing on Dancing with a Star is even better.
It is.
And to see him doing a Viennese waltz to a Tim McGraw song was so great.
But in the end, unfortunately, Vernon was sent home.
It was between Vernon and Johnny Weir.
So it makes sense.
Johnny is fantastic.
He's definitely a better dancer than Vernon is.
So it made sense that he was saved.
But now I'm at the point where like every time a couple goes home, I think I'm going to be really sad about it.
because they're all really good.
This has never happened before where I've been like,
there's 10 people left and they all really deserve to be there.
They're all getting pretty high scores.
They're all doing really well.
So it just sucks because this is when now it becomes more of a popularity contest
because they're all good.
Every time you talk about Johnny Weir,
I think that you are referring to Sam Weir,
from freaks and geeks. And I get confused. And I'm like,
wait, he's on the show. Talking about the ice skater. Yep, yep, yep. No, I know. Every time,
I'm like, wait a second. Wait, I'm getting confused. Yeah, you've been talking about how
good everybody is on this show. And it's, it's actually great to hear this from you because
last season of Dancing with the Star is really up your blood pressure. I was worried about you.
It did. It was watching the show was a stressful experience and now it is not. It's very pleasant. It's
very pleasant. That's good to hear. I think Tyra's been getting better.
Good. How do people feel about her now? Her outfits are still ridiculous, but she is...
She's Tyra, so her outfits are going to be ridiculous. Exactly. Exactly. But I think she is
starting to get better. What do you think about the fan reaction to Tyra now? Do you think it has gotten
better or do you think it's kind of the same? I mean, it seems kind of the same because I think it's
going to take a while for people to adjust. You know, people like what they like. And they
liked Aaron and Tom and it was like an abrupt change. So they're going to complain about it until
Tyra feels like more normal, you know? Right.
It's going to happen.
Probably take a season or two. Yeah, exactly. It'll happen. And I really do think she has
been getting better since the, you know, the slip up. The slip up. And asking better questions
because sometimes that's also where I'm like, what, what are you doing? Ask weird questions
sometimes. Right. And I always wonder with those type of things, if she's coming up with the
questions, are producers coming up at the questions? Are producers coming up at the question?
I think it's probably a group effort
but I also think it is sometimes her.
Right. It's kind of crazy to me.
Because it goes off what the
can, it goes off what the star like says.
Right, right, right, right.
And then she asks follow up questions.
It's crazy to me because, and not to go super off topic,
but I just want to mention this.
Like I said, I watched the David Letterman
interviews on Netflix and I watched the Dave Chappelle one.
And he said during the interview, he was like,
now this is a question I came up with.
Yeah.
And David Letterman said that himself.
And I thought to myself, I'm like, wait a second.
he doesn't come up with the questions.
Like somebody is writing these questions for him.
We do all the work, friend.
Nobody is writing anything for us ever.
Which I love.
I wouldn't want people to write my shit.
I was going to say, what we do is not like normally the standard in media.
It's crazy.
The host gets questions written by the producer and hand it to them.
It's wild.
Imagine if Noah wrote all four questions.
Oh my God.
Like I couldn't even imagine.
I wouldn't even feel good about that.
Like I just, I don't know.
I'm so happy we do.
all of that because it wouldn't feel authentic.
I mean, no one used to send us like
Yeah, like an outline.
Like an outline and question ideas.
Yeah.
I feel like when we were getting started, it was just kind of like we were just feeling it out.
Right, exactly.
And we've gotten into a good groove now where everything works.
Right.
We just like write our own questions.
But it was when I heard that, I was like, damn, even David Letterman's so big.
You can't write his own questions.
Yeah, it's crazy.
It is.
Oh, the last thing I want to say about Sanks with the Stars.
Derek and his girlfriend, Taley.
did a dance that was so hot like unbelievably hot it's just you watch them and you're just like how can you do that
yeah it's so cool it's so cool they move so fast the movements are just like talking about practice
it's insane obviously they're amazing dancers but when you see them and they're a couple
So the whole sexual feelings are there, the tension.
It was very steamy, very steamy.
And it was a great performance.
You have to show me that one after as well.
Oh, my God.
Yeah.
It'll get you feeling things.
It was hot.
Okay.
You'll watch before I see Hank or something.
No, okay.
That was weird.
I didn't need to say that at all.
Oh, can I just say?
Because I posted it on my Instagram story.
my mom really thinks because now when I joke about dreaming about being on Dancing with the Star
she's like you can't she's like you need practice like she really thinks I should start like taking
dance lessons like now yeah so I posted on my story on Monday night of the dance of Derek and his
girlfriend and I've literally written like imagine being able to dance like this with your boyfriend
and girlfriend. And my mom wrote back and was like, Fred Astaire Dance Studio, NYC, Joe would love it.
And I was like, oh my God. And then she goes, that's what I'm going to get you guys for Christmas.
Oh my God. I literally replied, oh, please no. And she just said the laughing emojis. So if you see me in a dance
class next year, it's because my mom probably bought me a package to a dance studio. Remember when
your mom suggested I teach you out of dance? She did. And I'm like, I don't even know how to dance.
Like I can't teach her out of dance.
Yeah.
My mom also is not that she's a very confident woman.
And she is always, and my dad can't really dance.
That's okay.
But my mom has always felt like she was like a really good dancer.
And she's always made fun of me, thinking that I have like no rhythm, but like she has rhythm.
And J.B. has rhythm.
And like, I'm just like the rhythmless child.
You know what?
I'm going to line you all up.
I'm going to line up all.
the marianas and say dance for me and judge who has the best rhythm. And now I'm like looking back
as I'm older and I'm like mom I mean you have rhythm but like not that much are you really
going to give me shit for a lot. Not the shit on Laura here but uh come on. Yeah it's just it's
always been a topic of conversation where I'm at my family of me being a bad dancer so
listen there is room for improvement. There is there's always I have only room for improvement.
You are at the bottom.
I mean, you can only go up.
Only room for improvement.
Exactly.
We'll work on it.
Yeah.
Okay.

Piping hot.
Piping hot tea.
Piping hot.
I've just burned my lips on the microphone.
No, can you put a sound effect in of like when the tea kettle is buzzing?
Like when it's whistling.
When it's whistling.
Like where you almost think that the tea kettle is about to explode.
it's whistling so loud.
Yeah.
And then throw in sizzling bacon just for the effect,
just because that sounds nice.
Okay.
Anyways, we got some major gossip on Yosef.
And now the woman who posted these TikToks about Yosef...
Shout out Carly.
Shout out Carly.
Did not directly say they were Yosef,
but she neglected to blur it out correctly
and you can see that it's Yosef.
So it's definitely Yosef.
I hope she did that on purpose because she blurred out the name on...
multiple locations on the screenshots of the DMs,
but just left one spot at the bottom.
So it was very, like, if you just looked at it closely,
you could see the name and see that it was Yosef,
but it was just funny that she had clearly tried to cover it up
in other places.
And I'm hoping she just, like, did that on purpose.
I'm sure she did because she probably wanted everyone to know was Yosef.
And she posted multiple TikToks,
one in which she said that she was talking to him.
And then on Snapchat, he sent her a video.
video of him jerking off that was supposed to go to another girl.
They're talking about getting married.
Yeah, they were going to have a family together.
I don't think that had even ever met in real life.
Like, he was planning a trip to go visit her.
The whole thing was quite frankly disgusting.
She knew he was on, he was going to be on a reality show, but he didn't say it was a
bachelor because he said he had signed an NDA.
And then when the trailer came out with the guy, she sent it to him and he was like,
ha, ha, I was wondering when you were going to see that.
And then she said something like,
I hope you're not talking to other girls.
And he was like, no, I wouldn't be talking to you.
But also, this is the thing.
I applaud this girl for releasing all this stuff.
But also, uh, why did you continue to talk to him after he was like,
I'm going on the bachelorette?
Because if I'm talking to a guy and I find out he's going on the bachelorette.
Well, no, after, I mean, like, you find out after you've been talking him.
That he was on the bachelorette.
Well, because you know that he was sent home.
And he's single now.
Oh.
Fuck.
Yeah.
Like, you wouldn't put that together.
Like, you would be like, how did they go from not talking?
Like, they just didn't talk for months and she was like, ah.
Or, no, I'm thinking he DM'd her like after he was already sent home from the show.
So true because they said September.
Okay.
Makes way more sense.
Sorry, sorry, sorry.
Yes.
Oh, the girl, I just saw a messaged chicks in the office.
Oh, she did?
Yeah.
What did she say?
Noah Spillis.
She said, ha, ha, thanks for sharing my story.
Oh.
Oh, okay. Cool. Okay.
Well, let me tell you this.
This is also why I love TikTok now because everyone wants a viral TikTok and they will do whatever it takes to go viral on TikTok.
Like, I don't think if TikTok existed, we may not have gotten all this information because this girl was like, oh, I'll make a TikTok about it.
It'll go viral. I'll get a billion followers on TikTok from this or billion views from people watching my TikTok and expose this.
and expose this guy, which is literally just the game.
Like people love exposing people on TikTok.
Absolutely.
They love exposing people on TikTok because they know they're going to get views and likes.
And it comes down to this.
If you're exposing Yosef in this situation, good for you.
If you're exposing a celebrity just redemming you, I think you're kind of an asshole.
I see girls do that a lot where they'll just post somebody who DM them.
And I'm like, like, celebrities DM people.
They, you know, they want some, you know what I mean.
Everybody wants a little bit.
So that I think is annoying.
But in this instance, I think...
Right.
Especially because he's trying to be all high and mighty on the show,
the moral authority on the bachelor.
So, new Tyler C.
A.K. Steve.
Poor Steve.
Brought this up.
I hope Steve gets another chance.
Right, with Tasia.
He brought this up to Claire in the first episode.
And our initial reactions were,
what's the big deal?
He was yemming people before he went on the show.
Right.
Whatever.
it was a lot deeper than that and Claire even asked like is there somebody who thinks
right you they're your girlfriend and I feel like this girl very much thought she was on pace
right or this dating Yosef like they like you said they talked about family in after he was on the show
but I'm saying I keep forgetting that I'm saying if he's wait DMing why do we care if he was sent
home and he wasn't with Claire then why do we care that he was because he tried to
to be all like high and mighty that I'm not DMing people and Tyler C.
No, but new Tyler C got sent home because he tried to be like he's creepy and girls' DMs.
Right, right, right. Okay. And he definitely is creepy in girls' DMs. He definitely is creepy.
But now that we're, let's get the timeline right, because I feel like I'm confused and people
probably listening are confused because I'm confusing them. He goes on the show. Yeah.
He gets sent home. He gets sent home.
then he starts talking to this girl.
Yeah.
Different scenario.
Also, I believe this is the timeline.
I'm pretty sure because this is the only time line that makes sense to me.
Because he had met and then he had said, like she started talking and that's when she found out that he was going to be, that he was on a reality show.
Because he had said already that he was on a reality show.
Let's take a pause.
Past tense.
Let's take a pause.
Yeah.
I want to watch.
Okay, just watch the TikToks.
We got a clarification.
This was after the show.
But I think the proof is in the pudding here and that if he was this creepy after the show,
he was probably being as creepy before.
Right.
And if he also had said in the first video Carly had posted, talked about how he sent a Snapchat
of him jerking off to another girl to her, then tried to delete his, then tried to
unfriend her on Snapchat so that
thinking like maybe that would unsend the
Snapchat but it didn't and she still got it
and still saw it. So like
he's still
a man
that he, you know,
he's on the show being like, I
I'm a father, I have a
daughter, like he has all these standards when
in reality he is also
sending
Snapchats of him
jerking off to girls.
You know what I'm saying?
Right, like he's not really.
respecting these. It just seemed like he, on the show, he is trying to be all high and mighty and
talking down to Claire and all these things and trying to like make new Tyler C look bad when
in reality, new Tyler C had the right idea about about. And I think, I think he also struggled
because it felt like maybe he knew not necessarily more, but maybe knew that he was kind of more
like a sketchier guy in the DMs, but like didn't want to full-blown, like, say that to Claire.
He was like, I know he's been messaging this girl or whatever, or, you know, and there's probably
more to it that he didn't say, but he never got the chance because he got sent home.
Exactly.
So I feel like there definitely probably was girls DMing him before the show because he's acting
this way after.
Like you said, he's trying to act all high and mighty.
I have a daughter.
I have this.
I have that.
I'm better than this.
When really he's not.
also can't really think of anything worse than getting an unwarranted jerking off video.
Like I genuinely am disturbed thinking about that.
So I don't know.
I just feel like he's not a good guy.
I feel like Yosef is genuinely kind of a piece of shit.
From the vibes I'm getting.
Usually when we get a villain on the show, they're not always like the worst person once you realize when they're off of the show.
Right.
You know what I mean?
They get made into a villain.
They get made into a villain and then they come out looking.
But like I feel like Demi was, they tried to make Demi out to be the
villain in Colton season. And now people love Demi.
And it happens often.
But I think Yosef is just kind of a weird guy.
Like I'm just like, ugh.
I just get bad vibes from him.
Definitely. Definitely. And then we also want to mention quickly that, you know,
the whole did Claire go to prom situation?
I feel like we got into a semantics battle of like what is prom and what are dances.
But, you know, this woman on Instagram had posted a picture of her husband and Claire at a dance.
in 1999.
It looked like prom.
Guy was in a tux.
The whole nine yards looked like a prom picture set up.
Claire commented back and said it wasn't prom.
She didn't go to prom.
She went to a new school senior year.
She also threw a little dig in there about the wife having these pictures.
But that's not really weird.
Like if the husband saved his high school photos.
Right.
Or like maybe it was a yearbook or a scrapbook.
Right.
I think it was a scrapbook.
that like maybe this guy's mom made or something
because their names were very cutely attached
underneath the photo where it looked like
some kind of scrapbook situation
where maybe someone in the family had made that
and Claire wasn't even spelled right
so I feel like it definitely was like a scrapbook
in which case photos are meant to be saved
that's why pictures are taken
also can't fault him for keeping pictures
right and I saw people be like
well isn't it weird that her husband
would save pictures of him with another girl
if you're in a stable marriage
and this was in 1999
and he has his high school yearbook
or scrapbook or high school photos
of your high school dances
like what? I've seen
photos of Hank and his ex-girlfriend
in their family albums and I'm not
like telling the lock was they got to throw the whole
thing away. You got to get rid of that
we're dating now. Get rid of it.
No pictures are meant because
if you make a book out of it you're not just going to throw
the book away if other people are included
It's kind of wild to think.
It was just the way that Claire got so defensive about it,
which I understand she's going to get defensive.
But sometimes when she gets so defensive,
it comes across like a little, you know, too much attitude.
Like we get it, you know?
You can be a strong, independent woman who can do things for herself
without getting so defensive maybe.
Like, just like the emoji she used to try to make this woman feel bad
kind of ticked me off.
I was just like, you know.
Definitely.
For sure.
Because in reality, it seemed like she didn't go to prom.
She went to senior ball in 1999.
It was just like a different dance that was not called prom.
Right.
And I feel like people on this show have this thing where they feel like people need to feel bad for them.
They need to be the losers in high school.
Everybody was a loser in high school.
Everybody got bullied.
in high school, which I get it happens. It's high school.
High school is a very weird time and people do get bullied and people
are not noticed by other people. It's high school.
But why is it every girl who goes on the show says that?
Because I just don't believe that. You know what I mean?
I'm not going to say Claire did not experience those things, but I just feel like
why do we always need to feel bad? Like why are we always made to feel bad for these people?
When nobody's going to hate you for being cool in high school.
No.
You know?
You're not going to sit there talking, oh, I was cool in high school.
Right.
You just don't have to talk about high school, especially like you're 39 now.
Yeah.
Yeah, you don't have to talk about high school.
And I get it.
It was like a big time, a sharing moment in the date and they were opening up and whatnot.
And I also understand because your high school experience can look very different
than how others view your high school experience.
Right.
Like you may have had a hard time in high school,
but everybody around you thought, like, you had to put together and were cool, like, whatever.
When in reality, like, deep down, you were very insecure,
didn't really, like, feel confident about what you were doing or, you know, anything like that.
So that's also very possible.
Like, that could have been something she was dealing with as well.
So, but it was just, it was insane how crazy it blew up when it was like,
did Claire go to prom?
So stupid.
Honestly, prom or no prom?
I don't know.
I'm not going to be like, Claire, you went to prom.
I'm not going to force.
If she didn't go to prom, she didn't go to prom.
Yeah.
The only thing that stuck out to me was the, you know, kind of making this woman feel bad for her husband saving pictures.
Because if you were in this situation and Joe went to prom with Claire or went to a dance with Claire.
And Joe said that to you and you pulled out the pictures, you would post it and be like, actually, my boyfriend went to this dance with Claire.
I feel like it was a very normal thing, especially when.
when you are outsider looking in and you were a huge fan of this show.
Right.
You do that without thinking it's going to blow up, I think.
You're just like, oh, I'm a fan of this show and my husband has a picture of Claire.
Yeah, I don't really think that you think that that's going to go viral when you post it.
Yeah.
Exactly.
A lot of alien talk on this podcast, guys.
I don't know what's going on in the air right now, but Demi Lovato is communicating with aliens.
And now Miley Cyrus said she also had a close encounter with an alien.
in a new interview with, in a new interview with interview magazine.
She said, I was driving through San Bernardino with my friend and I got chased down by some
sort of UFO.
I'm pretty sure about what I saw, but I'd also bought weed wax from a guy in a van in front
of a taco shop.
So it could have been the weed wax.
I am going to come out right away and say it was probably the weed wax, Miley.
If you watched Miley Cyrus's interview with.
Joe Rogan, then you know that Miley Cyrus has had deep experiences while on drugs
with communicating with aliens or whatever of that nature.
She said that she saw all of her personalities, like actually in front of her.
And she did some type of drug.
I forget what it was.
She saw all of her personalities come out in front of her and then like go back into
her body or something to that effect.
So I'm, I believe Demi, because I, listen, like I said, if Demi wants to communicate with aliens
and Demi's with the experts. She's with the experts. Fine. I am not 100% sure where Miley Cyrus was chased
down by a UFO. And you know what? If Mila Cyrus thinks that, let her, let her have fun with it.
Right. If I don't think she thinks that. She's almost like, I don't know either. Like it's probably
Yeah. And it could be either or. She sounded like she was a little iffy about it. But then she also did say that there were a couple of other cars.
on the road and they also stopped to look.
So I think what I saw was real is what she said.
And she said her friend saw it too.
So I don't know.
That's also one of those things where like when you're in that situation and you think
that's what you're seeing, that's a story that you tell.
100%.
Yeah.
You're like, damn, I'm pretty sure I just got chased down by UFO.
I might believe her because I just don't know if weeds that strong.
Even weed wax that you may get off of a random guy on the street.
I don't know if you picture aliens.
Yeah.
All we know is that there's been a lot of alien talk with these people these days.
I don't know what is going on, but I'm just waiting for the next.
I'm waiting for like Selena to talk about communicating with aliens.
Maybe Ariana.
We're talking so much about aliens.
I'm afraid the aliens are going to come to us, Fran.
I feel like we're attracting them and we're summoning them to come into this room.
We're using too many alien buzzwords.
We're saying the word every time we say it's blipping up.
No, they're like, they got us.
Be poop, pop, pop.
Fran, rea, chicks in the office.
And then all of a sudden they just,
they're like, they're on to us.
They sit down and there are our guests on the next show.
You guys might agree with me that it's kind of hard to find what vitamins you're supposed
to be taking.
There's so many.

This week, the four Chris's took the world by storm once again, not thanks to us, but a Twitter post went viral.
It was the pictures of the four Chris's and the woman had written, One Has to Go.
Now, Twitter, this was all very weird because Twitter straight up,
It almost felt unanimous that Chris Pratt was the one who needed to go.
Twitter was trying to kind of cancel Chris Pratt.
They want Chris Pratt gone.
And it turned into a weird thing where like Catherine Schwarzenegger was defending him in the Instagram comments.
Like all of his Marvel co-stars like put out statements about how great Chris Pratt is.
So it's like Chris Pratt, if you just wait at, like,
like three days this would have blown over and nobody would have talked about it like it's just
Twitter is crazy like that and it would have been fine but having like Robert Danny Jr.
post this Instagram talking about how amazing Chris Pratt is and he's like a man of faith
and all these things and it's like all right like that nobody's nobody's saying like really
bad things about Chris Pratt they were just like if if we had to get rid of one it would be
Chris Pratt. Now, obviously, you know, there's
reasons, it's political reasons of
why they want Chris Pratt gone,
but it blew up to something bigger than
I think it needed to be.
Honestly, hive mind mentality,
I was ready to put Chris Pratt at number four as well.
I saw everybody getting rid of Chris Pratt and I was like, fine, let's bump him down.
You know what? To be honest, I think it did bump him down. I think Chris Pine is
down number three. Yeah, I think we need to make that official.
I think Chris Pratt, you know, whatever, he's gotten a lot of hate or whatever, but
I want to bump up down to number four because quite frankly,
I try to be as honest as possible on this show, right,
with my honest feelings.
I feel like I haven't been completely honest about how I feel about Chris Pratt.
Or maybe I have.
I don't think Chris Pratt is as funny as people say he is.
And you know that.
It's something I've said to you privately.
And, you know, it all stems from the character he played on the OC.
I hated that character so much.
And then I watched Parks and Rec, right?
And when I watched Parks and Rec, everyone was like, oh, my God, you are going to love Chris
Pratt.
Definitely going to bump him up to, like, number two.
First of all, you're never taking Chris Evans or Chris Hemsworth spot.
He'll never be number two or one, ever.
But everyone was like, you're going to love Chris Pratt and Parks and Rec.
And honestly, hopefully we don't lose fans over this.
He was one of my least favorite characters on Parks and Rec.
And he was not one of my favorites at all, really at all.
But it's, so I feel like that makes sense only because all those characters are really great.
Exactly.
Somebody's got to come and last.
Somebody's got to, you know.
I wouldn't say he's bad, but he just wasn't my favorite.
That's fair.
And he's up there for me in Parks and my characters, I will say.
And that's fair enough.
I respect your decision, Francesca.
But for me, I feel like I, you know.
Now, interesting that Chris Evans, one of his Marvel co-stars, did not say anything about Chris Brad.
Well, because he's the number one Chris.
And when you're number one, Chris, you keep your mouth shut.
Right.
Because once you start defending.
And so he started defending.
And so he said, like, posted a Tupac quote.
And the whole thing was so weird.
The Chris List is not that serious, guys.
And that's why we should be the ones on top, you know.
The Chris List.
Running this shit.
At the end of the day, these guys are all absolute mega stars.
Like, last place is first place.
You're still in first place.
You're still a mega celebrity.
But Chris, Pratt.
That's the last name of there.
But Chris, Chris Pratt, we're going to have to bump you down to four.
We're going to have to bump you down to four.
Chris Prine.
He's making his way back up.
he's gorgeous and I hate to be that person who like jumps into it but you know Twitter like if one of them
was going to be the most problematic it's probably Chris rat and you know what like we don't want that
Chris Pine couldn't be less problematic that's almost why he was last because it was almost like
we saw nothing from him and it was almost too boring right but now I'm like I get it but I get it
rather boring yeah exactly exactly now you know I've respect
Catherine Schwarzenegger very much. And the two of them have different political beliefs.
So props to them on staying a couple at this point in time.
How do you do it? I don't know. So, but it just really took on a life of its own.
And I'm not going to lie when I saw the tweet blow up and it was like on the news and everybody
was reposting it. I was like, how come this stem from us ranking the Chris's? How come?
We're just not big enough.
I guess I, you know, we missed our chance.
We got skipped over.
We got skipped over.
We got skipped over.
We're following the leader.
I know.
We're jumping in.
We're jumping in and having this conversation.
Like, we don't have this conversation all the time.
Every week.
Yep.
So you know what?
Let's rank them.
Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pie and Chris Pratt.
Sorry, Chris Pratt.
See ya.
We are here with a special guest, Luke Bracey.
Welcome to the show.
Right now.
He's in Australia.
He's gotten up early for us.
us, welcome.
Thank you, guys.
Thanks for having me.
How beautiful is it in Australia?
We've never been.
We obviously know that you're Australian,
so just tell us kind of
what are you looking out at right now?
Is it something beautiful?
We just assume that it's always like an ocean, a beach.
We'll close our eyes and imagine it,
and you just paint the picture for us.
I mean, I could show you.
It's pretty nice.
Of course it is.
Straight at the beach.
It's real quite beautiful.
And the sun is just kind of, because I'm on the east coast of Australia,
so the sun just kind of rises right kind of onto my bed.
And it's, it's really, really, it's a lovely way to wake up.
It's okay.
You could brag.
You could brag.
We'll live through you.
I got a nice concrete wall in front of me.
No, it's probably one of the things that is an Australian,
as Australians that we're kind of most proud about of being,
about being Australians.
It's like, oh, we're from a beautiful place.
I think that's where like our type of paper.
patriotism comes from. It's like, oh, wow, aren't we lucky? You know, that's the kind of attitude in
Australia. So, no, it's really nice to be home, actually. This is, this year has been the longest
time I've spent in Australia for about 10 years. And I got to spend, you know, months and months
with my family, my mother and father and my sisters and my nieces and nephews, which I haven't been
able to do for a decade. So, you know, there's been weird blessing between this year and for me. So, yeah,
I feel really fortunate, actually.
That sounds beautiful, and it's kind of like finding that middle ground
because obviously there's so much going on in the world,
but the fact that you were able to be home,
spend time with your family, like you said,
and the beautiful place of Australia,
obviously very different from where we are in New York right now.
But how has the past few months been?
I know you said you've been in Australia,
but I kind of want to know the difference between Australia right now and the US.
Well, I can't speak with the US,
I haven't been there since like just before Christmas.
But look, Australia's, we've been very fortunate with how the years panned out.
I think we've had, obviously, there's been some kind of bad moments like Melbourne and Victoria have had a tough couple of months.
They've been in a bit of a lockdown.
They had a bit of a resurgence of it all.
And I've got some friends down there.
So, you know, they've been doing it a bit tough.
But to tell you the truth, the rest of Australia, I think we've managed to handle it really, really well.
people have been responsible and yeah it's been um i just feel very lucky to be here it's been one of
those those moments where well like an island at the end of the world is kind of handy sometimes
definitely is because there's really no reason to come back to the u.s anytime soon i can't
i've got i've got so many friends and and and um over there so i'm always like you'll see him
eventually yeah i'm trying to convince him to come down here
Yeah, that's probably the best, the best bet.
Well, we're very happy that, you know, you have this beautiful view.
You've been in Australia, you've been home.
But we are here to talk to you about Holiday, which is a new movie on Netflix.
It's coming out on October 28th.
It looks super cute.
I've watched the trailer many times now.
I absolutely adore Emma Roberts.
So tell us a little bit about the movie and your role in the movie.
Yeah, I mean, it's a cut and dry rom-com and how fun are they?
Yeah, love them.
So it's our favorite genre.
And I'll tell you what, anyone tells you they don't love a rom-com, they're lying to you,
and you should never trust what they say ever again.
Absolutely.
Rom-coms are fun, and I'd never really done one before.
So it was just this opportunity came up and, you know, oh, trying to like make a comedy.
I'd never really done that, so it was terrifying.
and I'm just really glad that John the director gave me the opportunity
and I got to have fun.
Like Emma and I just laughed like all day for a couple of months
and it was just a great, great time.
And then even this year it's kind of like the perfect movie for this year.
I think it's kind of pure escapism in that way.
And I just think they're really fun.
But yeah, working with Emma was amazing.
We got along like a house on fire like the moment we met.
It was like meeting an old friend.
So that makes life and work so much easier.
I mean, you guys are friends and you guys work together.
And it just makes life so much easier when you're working with someone that seems like an old friend.
And yeah, so it's an unapologetic rom-com and that's maybe just what we need right now.
Absolutely.
And I feel like, like you said, it's what we need.
It's around the holidays.
It makes people who can't be with friends or family feel like they're watching their friends and family on the screen,
especially a rom-com.
It's a cozy feeling.
And you mentioned that you have,
really done this before a rom-com or even comedy that much, right?
What is the difference for you, would you say?
Because I feel like talking to actors who do comedy versus drama, comedy's a little bit
harder, maybe?
Yeah, more terrifying, I found.
You know, like, be funny.
It's a lot of pressure to be funny.
Suddenly you're like, oh, that's, I, am I funny?
I don't think I'm funny.
But no, so that was, that was it.
But I think, you know, it's like, it's like anything with acting and telling stories,
there's this kind of, there's a couple of things that you need to hit.
And comedy comes from drama, you know, without like that, like, comedy is like that
release of tension of like a buildup of a moment and either you can cry at the end of that
moment or you can laugh at the end of that moment.
So, you know, if you, if you have those, those kind of base kind of ideas and framework to go by,
It's the same, but just you get to laugh all day instead of like cry.
And that's fun.
Yeah, definitely.
Definitely.
Can you explain what exactly a holiday is?
I can try.
Yeah.
No, a holiday, like the idea of the movie is that, you know,
Emma's character and my character, we've had these pretty awful kind of Christmases.
And we run into each other kind of returning some gifts.
And we spark up this idea that I think comes from.
from Kristen Chenowarth's character, who plays Emma's auntie,
that, you know, being both single,
it's this, like, ridiculous pressure that comes on you
to have someone next to you at these, like, holiday events,
even though it's just kind of ridiculous, like, oh, you have to have a romantic partner
with this thing.
And so we just come up with the idea that we could just be each other's mates,
like holidays, you know, like, so we can go to these things,
so that no one's judging you, you're there with someone,
and so there's, you know, the questions you can just,
ignore but like at least you've brought someone and you're not alone and that's um just to just to
kind of get rid of that whole awkward scenario with your family and friends about why you're so lonely
um so uh that's the kind of idea of the holiday and and and then in true rom-com fashion you can
imagine how it pans out yeah yeah i'm going to say something cheesy if this was an australian movie
would it be called hollamate i i reckon that should be the name of the sequel
I don't know, it just pops in my head.
You said mates.
Absolutely.
I love it.
That's the sequel right there.
Yeah, well, Fran and I love a will-they-won't-day story.
And I feel like this is that type of movie, especially on Netflix.
Is it like, has it been a dream of yours to just be in a Netflix movie?
Because I feel like they're releasing so much.
And as an actor, I feel like if I was an actor, one of my goals would be like, I need to get into Netflix.
Yeah.
is like, I mean, just in terms of the scope, you know, the availability of a film by Netflix,
like, it's kind of democratized the movie-going experience and the movie-seeing experience
in a way. It's given people an ability to just an ease of access to content. And I think
Netflix do great work. You know, they've got something for everyone. And that's a lovely thing
as well. And that's something I want to do
in my work as an actor. I want to try and
make a bunch of different types of
movies for a bunch of different types of people
because I love different types of movies
and I always have a different type of
mood. So
Netflix are kind of really
dominating this rom-com kind of
world and you know, when you work
you want to work with the best and I feel really
lucky that I got to work with
Netflix and then obviously Emma and everyone else
that's involved in the movie because
yeah, if you're going to do one, I think
this is the perfect place to do it.
Yeah, it definitely is.
And it's great to have easy access to movies right now,
and Netflix gives us that.
I'm curious how you got into acting in the first place
because the first thing that I watched you in
was the best of me because I've read every Nicholas Sparks movie.
I thought you were going to say, Monte Carlo.
Oh, no, no, that was the first thing I've seen.
That's a G.
Yeah.
But I know you've read every book.
were obviously you were acting before that is you know what I was going to say as well so I would
love to know kind of how you got into the into the acting game to begin with well yeah I mean
I never ever wanted to be an actor or planned on being an actor ever in my life um I think if you're
kind of like growing up on the northern beaches of Sydney and think that you're going to be making
movies in Hollywood you probably have some seriously diluted dreams of grandeur so that's that
my plan at all. I wanted to
play, I wanted to hopefully
be a professional rugby player,
like rugby league or rugby union.
And I was going to probably be a builder.
Go to university and my dad's a builder
and I would have kind of probably moved into
the family business. But then
I finished school and just outside of school
a guy who
I played rugby with and went to school with his
father was a, is a
TV producer here and asked me to audition
for a show in Australia.
I thought I did. And then I
didn't get that job, but then months later, the casting agent kind of called me back and asked
me to audition for this really long-running soap opera in Australia called Home and Away.
And I just thought, oh, yeah, okay.
And I went to the audition and then at 8 o'clock the next morning, they said I got the job.
And I was like, oh, okay, I've got to call my dad and tell him I'm not working for him for the next
six months.
And so just, yeah, suddenly I was on Home and Away, and it was awesome.
I remember day one, I was just terrified.
And then day two, I kind of understood it a bit more.
And then day three, I remembered I was getting paid.
And I was like, oh, yeah, this is fun.
I didn't even do this.
And so I just kept doing it with a bit of naivety.
I thought, I just be fine.
And knock on wood, it's been kind of fine.
But yeah, that's kind of how I got into it.
I did six months on that show.
And then just kind of was out of work for maybe,
six months. I'd saved all my money from it, like a good boy, so I didn't have to get a real job.
And then I just got Monte Carlo and then suddenly I was making movies. And then the next
thing I knew I lived in America and kind of every year from then on, I've just been able to make a
movie or a couple and kind of just go rung up the ladder. It's been, I've just, I'm really
fortunate. I think, you know, the fact that I was really naive to it all and was kind of free and
open to it really helped me. It wasn't, I was really lucky, I think, because it was never like
my dream, like the be all and end all. So everything I did was a bonus. And I just was like,
oh, wow, I get to do that. And then, and then just learning more about it and being, I don't know,
like knowing that I don't know anything about it has kind of helped me. Like I'm like, oh, I could
probably listen to this person. They could probably tell me a lot about it. So I've been able to learn
and just kind of move on every year. So that's a good.
kind of basic rundown of it and I feel a little bad sometimes because I know how many people are
like, oh my God, the luckiest guy. And I do feel it. And I do feel it. I really do. That's exactly what I was
going to say. I was going to say, you know, obviously you are so talented and you deserve these movies
and the TV shows that you've done. But it's also a type of thing where it's like it fell onto your lap,
but in the best way possible because you wouldn't have gotten it if you weren't made to do it.
You know what I mean? It's like it needed to be in front of your face for you to know.
I should be an actor.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, once I started, I really, I really understood.
I was like, oh, this is what I should do.
I'm going, I enjoyed this much more than I enjoyed, you know, being a builder.
And, and it's just, yeah, I feel fortunate that way because, as I said, like, I've just been able to,
um, learn so much.
You know, I haven't had this like, this is how I'm going to do it and this is what it's
going to happen.
It's been more say yes and don't screw up.
You know, like, so.
That's kind of like the philosophy I've taken is, you know, I've been very, very fortunate,
but I have made sure that when that, when that opportunity has come my way, I've tried to waste it.
And, you know, they say like luck is like opportunity in preparation meeting.
You know, you can have all the opportunity in the world, but if you're not prepared for it,
then it's kind of useless and, you know, you really consider yourself lucky.
So I guess that's where it's come from that way.
I've just, I feel like I have been really fortunate.
but yeah thank you for saying that it's like i think i would have been found out by now you know
it's been maybe 10 years and people keep paying me to do this so i must be like doing all right
it's kind of how i feel but there's still always that that innate kind of like anyone's job
like that innate kind of self-doubt and like we all have that and um i think it's a positive thing
because it makes me really cross my tees and done my eyes and like not rest on my laurels i'm
constantly knowing how much better i've got to get and how much further i've got to
go. But yeah, I'm certainly surprised every time someone gives me a job.
I mean, and like you said, you're you're absorbing from the people you're working with.
And as you've been doing it, you have been getting more and more amazing roles and working
with amazing people. Like, you know, we all watched you in Little Fires Everywhere, which was
so huge and everybody loved. And that's, I mean, that's Reese, Sproen. That's as good as to get.
Yeah, I mean, it's kind of like, working with Reese, you know, I'm on set and then I'm
something like, she's got an Oscar.
I'm acting with that person.
They're very good at acting.
I'm not so good at acting.
I should probably try and be better at acting.
And that's kind of like, you know, it's like, it's like when you play a sport, you know,
I do liken the acting thing to a sport of some degree.
It's like, you know, whenever you're playing a sport or an activity with someone who's very good,
that elevates you and it makes you play better.
And that's kind of what I've really been fortunate as,
as you say,
like I got to work with Vince Vaughn and Andrew Garfield,
Mel Gibson directed me in Haxor Ridge.
And I got to work with Pierce Brosner
and someone like Ray Winstone.
And so it's just this idea of like,
if I can just surround myself with people
that know what they're doing and that are really good,
maybe, you know,
I won't be noticed so much.
But also, like, I've been able to learn so much from these people
And yeah, working with Reese was amazing.
That was such a great show.
It became really, really popular.
Yeah, I was really proud of how that turned out.
And it all just kind of, yeah, it just kind of fell into place.
You know, like that it kind of has.
As I said, like this opportunity came.
And I thought, wow, yeah, what a great opportunity to work with someone who's one of the best in the world at this.
And I'm lucky that I didn't make so much of a fool of myself.
She's one of those people that seems.
like so mega famous but also is very like much a cool person to be around and a regular person.
Can you verify that my opinion of Lisa Witherspoon?
Yeah, look, I had an awesome time working with Reese.
She is like that, you kind of hit the nail on the head there.
Yeah.
Where it's like this person is like one of the biggest actresses in the world and has been for like a long time.
and we've all seen all her movies.
But then she just, yeah, just like, you know, like a regular person,
had great chat and, you know, fun and, you know, human.
I think that's what you kind of want to, when you meet people
and, you know, you've met people through your job and you just want to see that they're human,
you know.
Exactly.
They kind of exist.
And, you know, I've been really fortunate through pretty much every job I've done.
And everyone I've worked with has been pretty awesome, just regular.
Everyone just kind of, how lucky are we?
This is great.
Who would have another job than this?
And that's really refreshing, especially when you're working with people that have been doing it for a while.
So it's like, see their passion's still there and they're not so jaded.
And it's just more like, wow, how lucky are we?
And I love that attitude because I feel like that every day I go to work.
No matter what I'm doing at work, even the tough days where you, you know,
you might be covered in mud crawling around on the ground for 12 hours.
you just still like, wow, I mean, remember when you were a kid and you played Omni, man?
Guess what?
You're living it.
Yeah.
And I feel like it's a great example to see somebody, like, for example, Rees Witherspoon or the other actors that you've worked with that have been doing it for so long, still have that passion because it shows you that you're not going to get tired of it.
You're only going to get better.
You're going to want to do more.
Stay passionate.
And you mentioned all these great people that you're working with and learning from and working with them in a movie.
But how about now being in a movie?
now being in a movie about somebody like that,
the Elvis biopic you are a part of,
which we are so excited for.
We've been like waiting.
Obviously, it's going to be a while before it comes out.
But you guys resumed filming, right?
Yes, so that's why I'm here.
That's why I'm here on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
I have work after this interview.
I get and have a shave and go to work.
but I'm actually
Warner Brothers will probably
stream me up and kill me if I say anything
I can't say anything about it
but I can say that it's it's really really exciting
like it truly is it's Baz Luhrman
making the eldest film and Tom Hanks is in it
and Austin Butler is playing Elvis and it's
it's epic you know it's it's an epic epic
epic movie and yeah it's just that next
run up I didn't think I'd be doing that
this year you know
like it kind of
it all came about in a really organic way
and to be a part of that
it's as you say like just to work with the kind of best in the business
is what's what's the best bit about my job
and how I think I'm going to move forward in my career
is that being around the people that have got the runs on the board
and that you can learn from
Baz is an absolute genius and we all know his work
Tom Hanks is Tom Hanks
and so yeah it's it's been
very exciting and I'm worried I'm going to say something and get in a heap.
We will stop you there. It's exciting. But it's so exciting. It's so exciting.
Yeah, that is, listen, we have just been so excited because we love Austin Butler as well.
And I feel like it's also about networking with the industry that you're in. Like, you know,
as much as working with the actors and learning from them, it's also getting to know these people
and getting to know the directors and the producers and the writers that will maybe cast you.
doing something later on.
Yeah.
Yeah, and it's funny because it's obviously such a global, huge industry that everyone
thinks, but it is strangely small.
And it is like a small town kind of industry where, you know, like, I know plenty of people
that have worked with all these people and, you know, oh, oh, I know so-and-so, and they
worked with you on that, like, oh, they're great.
So, you know, it's one of those things where, you know, it's about kind of, as you say,
networking in a way.
But I don't think, I think the networking that I do is mainly like, hey, rock up to work on time,
know you're lying, be a nice guy and try not to screw up. And, you know, that takes you
as far as anything as well, I think. You know, it's kind of any, like any job in that, in that sense
where word travels if you're good and word travels if you're bad. And I think in this day and age,
which I really enjoy, and I think is a positive thing, there's not so much time and space
and money for people that are hard work, you know, that people,
that are pains.
It's just who wants to be around that, you know?
And it's just, I think that's one of the things about networking in this business.
It's like, no, they're a nice person and they're great to spend,
because we spend so much time making these movies.
It's like, no, they're a cool person to spend 14 hours a day with for six months.
You know, I think that's like part of the job description as well.
It's like, oh, can I handle this person for this amount of time?
But as I said, throughout my career, I've been so fortunate.
I don't think I've had a really bad experience at all.
Most people, most every person I've worked with has been awesome, has been really great.
And that's, that's a big part of it, I think.
Because another thing, we're acting, we're having fun.
Like, even if we're making a heavy movie, you're still going to have like a pulse behind
it and some life.
And, you know, that's such a big part of it is like, can we be humans?
Like, that's all we're trying to do.
So when you've got humans around you, it makes it easier.
Yeah, definitely.
Well, we're so incredibly excited because we've, everybody in the world has been following along with what was going to happen with this Elvis biopic, obviously, from as soon as it was announced that it was happening.
So we're excited that it started up again, that you're on set.
What does, what does Luke do on his downtime?
Like, how do you, like, how do you chill?
Like, I know obviously you said you've been home with your family during these past few months and haven't, haven't been working.
but when you get like the times to chill like what is your what's your downtime like
i grew up on the beach so i love i love to serve um i was going to say this is going to be a very
typical australian answer i was yeah like there's such i'm a huge like i'm a walking
stereotypes um um but but no i i grew up like right on the beach in the same suburb my my father
grew up in and um you know i it's the best playground it's like this huge giant
playground with rides on it that are these waves.
So it really kept me out of trouble as a kid.
And then I played a lot of rugby growing up.
And right now it's just about finding that time and, you know,
finding those moments to yourself.
But this year has been really beautiful to kind of stay at home and play backgammon
or a game of cards with my parents and, like, go around to my sister's place
and hang out with my nieces and nephews and, you know, play bayblades with my nephew.
and, you know, like, do drawings with my niece.
It's been really, really lovely that way.
But, yeah, my down time, if I can get to the ocean,
I'll be really happy.
And then there's also times where I just want to sit
and watch the rugby league on the TV
or like watch some sport or some cricket,
especially when I'm filming at the moment,
it becomes really all-encompassing.
You know, my Mondays to Fridays are a wash.
And then even, you know, if I have to do some stuff,
like promotional stuff that I'm doing at the moment, like a few hours on my Sunday as well.
So it's like when you're working, it's very intense.
But those moments when I can have a time away from work, I do like to like, by Friday,
I'm like, I just really want to go to a nice attain restaurant and have like a huge bowl of pasta
and a couple of glasses of red wine.
And maybe maybe a few more afterwards and then like wake up feeling a little sorry for myself
in the morning.
And then I'll just go lie on the beach for like a few hours.
So that's like, you know, when you're working, that's the kind of the realm you're living in.
But then it's been funny, like, yeah.
It's ideal, honestly.
It's really quite lovely.
And it's, yeah, I feel like I'm earning that kind of pasta meal at the end of the night.
But through the whole, like, crazy year that we've had, it was been kind of funny because
I felt like everyone in the world was maybe suddenly in the position I've been in for 10 years.
Oh, you don't know when you're going to work again?
oh you got to like figure out what you want to do today and like fill it constructively it's like
I sat back and went hold on a second have I been training for this for 10 years um because it was kind
of like what my life is when I don't have a job it's like how I've got to find my own structure
do some productive things um I still think I'm never going to work again anyway um so you know
like this year has been strange that way because it wasn't so different to when I'm not
working and was just maybe a longer period of it with a bit more uncertainty.
Not so much like self-applied kind of doubts.
But yeah, so that's kind of, you know, my off time is trying to fill it with productive
things because there are moments when I can be super lazy and just lounge and then I feel,
you know, a little guilty and you get up and do some things, but just like anyone, I just like,
you know, there's some days where I'm just like, I'm just like, I'm just like,
I ain't getting up.
Yeah.
Well, let me know.
Reason to get up if you don't have to sometimes.
You just got to lay down all day.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And it's way easier when you live in an apartment in Manhattan.
And sometimes you don't even know, like, you can't even tell if it's raining outside or not.
Like, you're just...
If I was in Australia, I would just go and sleep on the beach.
I hope that you do that.
I've done it a few times.
Maybe not out here at the moment.
It's a bit busy where I am.
But maybe I'll...
I'm sure you can find yourself.
spots. Yeah, if I get some time off work, I might go for a drive kind of up the coast and try and find
somewhere to go and camp or something like that, actually. That's actually one thing I'm probably
doing a couple of weeks when I have some time off. That sounds amazing.
Camping trip, like by myself as well, which I'm going to really enjoy, I think. Like, I'm going to
try and borrow a tent and go somewhere, like, remote and kind of like sit by myself for a bit,
I don't know, read a book. Yeah, exactly. It's relaxing. Sometimes you need that when you're surrounded,
especially in the job you do, surrounded by people all day long, every single day.
Everyone's connected.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I think it's a connected thing as well.
It's been such a funny year where, you know, our lives were already kind of right on our hand computers and our real computers and stuff like that.
But even in a year like this, it's kind of maybe another bigger reason to unplug a bit more.
Because it's been all about it.
That's been our only connection to the outside world.
and to friends and family and all those things.
So I think I wouldn't mind just going.
I mean, I'm not like, it sounds like I'm an 85 year old man who doesn't know
and use technology.
The fact that we got this Zoom link working isn't.
But just even for me, it's been a bit much.
And I don't really deal with it so much.
I don't, you know, don't have the, I don't engage in the social media thing and I never have.
But even for me, it's been like, oh, I just want to kind of.
throw it down and go and just get some silence, get away from these kind of screen things.
Right. Especially when you're surrounded by such a beautiful place and you're staring at
and get one thing. It's like, what am I doing? This isn't the real life. This isn't a real world.
So it makes sense. But the one time we will be staring at a screen is when holiday comes out,
October 28th on Netflix, right? Bring it back around.
Thank you, Luke, so much for joining us. We hope you have a great rest of your day, a great time.
I'm filming. Hope you get that relaxation in. And everyone check out holiday October 28th.
Hey, thank you very much, guys. What a pleasure. Thanks having me. Thank you.
Thanks, Luke. Bye. All right, that wraps up. Today's episode of Chicks in the Office. We hope you got
that Friday energy on a Friday. We hope you have a fantastic weekend. We love you guys. Thank you so much
for listening to this show. And we will talk to you on Monday.
