It's Chicks in the Office with Ria and Fran, giving you that Friday energy on a Wednesday. That is the first time I'm saying that, and it feels damn good, everybody. This is the first Wednesday show, and it is also episode 200 of Chicks in the Office. Fran, congratulations.

Ria, congratulations. Congratulations to us. I'm shaking your hand from across the table. I'm not actually shaking it. 200 episodes. Just 100 episodes ago, we were interviewing the Jarns Brothers. Good times. I didn't want to bring that up, but now we got Trent.

What's up? And on our 200th episode, we got the luggage guy, Trent, because obviously this is a very special edition of Chicks in the Office. We will be recapping the Bachelorette, the full two-hour premiere. But first, we have to talk about love. lovely, lovely Macy's. Let's get into the Bachelorette recap. The premiere finally happened Tuesday night, October 13th.

Weird, it's a Tuesday. And I'm feeling good. It's, you know, like I said, it's almost midnight. We watched the show. We watched the premiere. We did the after show cutting stems. Check that out every single Tuesday night after. Guys, how does it feel to be back?

It feels good. Feels very good. It feels really good. And I got to say, I'm excited to do our recaps again because as much as I love the after show, I think the after show is going to be fantastic. But I don't, there's not a lot that I love more than like really going in depth on episodes and the podcast allows us to do that where like can talk about every single thing which I absolutely love so I'm happy to be back I could not agree more first of all congratulations on 200

episodes thanks for very cool and first of all before we even get into the episode I want to give a shout out to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers we would we wouldn't be doing this without them we would not be here right right we would have to wait a week they shut out or they didn't shut out they beat out the heat in six games as opposed to seven seven would have pushed it so I just wanted to give a shout out to LeBron James. What a win. You lost your man card at work. I know, yeah.

I'm now being told that if I watch the show and I like watching it more than I would want to watch a game seven, then I lose my man card, which is ridiculous. The whole concept is ridiculous. It is. It's just a show that I like. We stand by you, Trent. I appreciate that. You know what gets your man card taken away?

Taking away somebody's man card. I agree. I think that is the lamest thing. Bingo. Oh, let me take away your man card. Like, shut up. We all like what we like. Trent likes the Bachelorette.

So what. I don't want to. He's the fucking luggage guy. Totally. And you know, Dave is our boss and I watched the clip from the rundown of him taking your man card. He took your man card in a tie-dye sweatshirt and skinny jeans after posting an episode of new podcast with kids from TikTok. So you're in the clear trend. I agree.

We all like what we like. Wait, Dave's the one who took away your man card? Yeah. On the rundown. Yeah. I might be taking back what I see. That's my boss. Yeah.

Yeah, you were very strong. No, you can't take it back now. You already said it. You know, whatever. It is what it is. But if I had known it was Dave, I may or may not have kept the manned card. It doesn't exist.

For boss purposes. Everyone likes what they like. It doesn't have to do with manly or not manly. I just love this show. And I don't want to, I have no, I'm not a Heat fan. I'm not a Lakers fan. I do not care about that NBA Finals.

So the sooner it was. over the sooner we were to get the Bachelorette and that's all I care about. Exactly. And we got here and we're doing it and we're back and we have a, we had a drinking game going which I think people enjoyed. We had a lot of pretty, we had rules that I didn't think we're going to be as rapidly used as they were. Like we put drink when you see a live animal and there were so many more live animals than I expected. There were birds, there were dogs, there were more birds, a couple more. I mean, it was live animals nonstop.

Yeah. We didn't know Claire was bringing her dogs. Right. So maybe if we had known that, we wouldn't have made that a rule. But it was fun. If you drank along with us, it's fun. We're doing that every single night that the Bachelorette is on. We're going to be putting out the drinking games on our socials.

And we're going to be participating. So we want you guys to follow along. That's also kind of a little heads up to if we're tipsy or maybe under the influence during the after show. I'm seeing some messages, people being like, like, Ria, you may have looked like a little I'm going to be influenced. Yeah, we were playing a drinking game, everybody. Get on the same level. You can't put out a drinking game to the public and then not participate in the drinking game.

Nope. Be very hypocritical of us. Agreed. So we participated and now we are going to get into night one of Claire. You know, we see Chris Harrison. We're back. We're ready to go. He's explaining that this season is going to be unlike any other just from a life standpoint of what's going on in the world.

and we saw Claire, she was told that she was going to be the Bachelorette, and then we saw that she was in lockdown. And it was such a dramatic turn of her so excited to be the Bachelorette, and then it was her staring out the window with the lower third that said, sheltering at home. It was quite dramatic, which I expect from the show. There also, I want to throw out there. There was an ambulance in the shot. I get it, you know, COVID ambulance.

It's an emergency. It's an emergency, but they have to include one in every single show. They got out of the way. How would we know that it was an emergency if they didn't put the ambulance? Exactly. Had to put the ambulance in there. And the whole thing was just, it was very dramatic. Kelly Keek said this on the after show.

I will say it did seem like at one point Claire was the only one dealing with it. But she is the star of the show. She's the main character, as one might say. We are watching this unfold in her life. As far as we know in our lives, It does exist. I was going to say it doesn't exist. It does exist.

But when we're watching her, it's all about Claire. Exactly. Yeah, it was incredibly dramatic. And even as we were, because the first 20 minutes or so were basically like, this is what The Bachelorette was like in COVID, how they got everybody safe, how they quarantined everybody, how they tested everybody. And at one point, I was like, should we be doing this show? Like I, like, this is, the pandemic is very serious.

People need to take it seriously. I'm glad that they shot the show because I, I mean, we watched the premiere tonight. And I'm so happy that it's back in my life. But the fact that they had to go through all those hoops and those protocols and everything, it's actually kind of amazing that they got it done. Yeah. But I'm happy they did. I agree with you.

I think seeing it all actually unfold and like the process of how they did it was interesting just from, you know, these guys having to fly who are there, they're flying home. They're flying back. Now they're in Palm Springs. They're all in their own little individual room and their quarantine. and they're getting tested. And it was very much a, Ria, you had said this, very much a Mori show kind of situation

where like the contestants, the guys like opened their door to a knock and they had a producer be like, congratulations, you have been clear to meet Claire. Like you were on the show. I kind of thought maybe some guys would not be cleared. But I guess that didn't happen. Do you think there were people

that tested positive for COVID and they just didn't show it? I don't think so. I mean, this sounds bad, but I can't imagine them not showing that. Yeah, well, that's when I turned to Trent and I said, you think they're going to show somebody getting tested positive? They have to because that would add to the effect of the show. So I do feel it with Fran saying, if that happened, they would have put it in like, Claire, I hate to tell you, but Steve, he's tested positive.

You know, a positive result would have been so dramatic. True. You know, not to make a mockery out of it. No. No, not at all. They'll make anything dramatic. But they had Chris Harrison come and announce to Claire that she was negative and ready to go. Quite a moment.

I would think they could have something similar. However, you know, from the safety standpoint, if someone did test positive, maybe you can't be around other people. So it is possible, but I don't think that it happened. I also feel like we would have gotten word about that. I feel like that so many things, so many things leaked that. If a guy was sent home for a positive test, I think we would have known. Yeah, you're probably right about that. Yeah.

Yeah. I did like, you know, these guys getting to see a little glimpse of this life for them. Now, Claire, Claire got to bring her dogs, which now I have a question, should that be allowed for every contestant from here on out? I feel like they should be allowed to bring their dogs, regardless of if it's a pandemic or not. Yes. I wonder if they would In the past if they had stopped people From bringing their dogs

They must have So many of these people have dogs My first question would be Can I bring Norman? Yeah I feel like that would be everybody's What do I do with my pet? Yeah

If you have a pet who's watching it Yep I would like to just have a dog Every season just wandering around the mansion It doesn't have to be the focus of anything But just like when the guys are hanging out Cooking breakfast or whatever The dog just sort of walks through

I think that'd be nice It definitely would be I feel like Claire, that was a nice way for Claire to make sure that everything on the home front was okay because now she's away from home. She got to keep her dogs. The conversation between her and Chris Harrison before everything started, where, you know, talking about this DVD that her dad got her really pulled on the heartstrings. I can't, not to be super serious, but like I can't imagine sitting on a DVD like that where like it's like your dad has made a DVD.

for you and your husband and now he has passed and you just have the DVD sitting somewhere and you've never watched it, I would watch it, I think. I think it's hard to say whether or not I'd watch it depending on the situation. Yeah. Like, I feel like you don't know how you're going to react to your dad dying until he passes. So maybe you don't, maybe that would make you feel worse if you watched it. You're probably right. You want to respect.

I feel like, respect why he made it in the first place. Yeah. And also just like maybe you don't want to see him talking in that kind of future way. Yeah. If it's been, you know, short amount of time long, like whatever it is. So I just feel like unless you're in that situation, I don't know. I know. And may freak her out a little bit to watch beforehand.

Yeah. Just really an incredibly serious first 25 minutes of this premiere episode. It was. It has to be. It was. I mean, they got to put context. They got to explain everything. But it was a very serious 25 minutes for sure.

Yeah. We knew that that was kind of going to happen. I didn't know how we didn't know how they were going to do all the COVID stuff. They kept it basically to the first 30-ish minutes and then got into the limo entrances and all of that fun, exciting stuff.
