Hello everybody. Welcome to another episode of Christ with Coffee on Ice. I am your host,
Alios, and I feel so blessed to be here with you guys. Y'all, I'm filming this in the beginning of my day,
and I don't know, it's just kind of hitting different. Normally, I record these episodes
somewhere in the middle of my day, you know, but this is like one of the first things I'm doing
in the morning. But this is kind of sweet. I don't normally film this early, so I don't know,
feels kind of special and holy.
We have our coffee on ice, and we have our Christ.
We have our Bible.
And I am really excited for this episode.
I'm excited for this episode because Abba said that we should read the Bible today.
I honestly had no idea, y'all, what I was going to film when I sat down today.
Not in an irresponsible way, but just like in a, sometimes I just love the Lord to just speak,
you know, before I sit down.
and then it's truly giving like authentic like full holy spirit you know and he told me that we should
read proverbs how fun so we're going to read the bible together today and i'm really excited to do that
if you haven't read proverbs it's literal flames wait guys before we get into reading the bible though
can i tell you like kind of a crazy story that happened to me and actually the other day okay
this is giving glory to the lord though everything goes back to god okay everything
thing goes back to the Lord and his goodness. But a few nights ago, I was sleeping in my room. It was
night time. It was bedtime. And all of a sudden, I'm woken from my sleep with what felt like
spotlights on me, like a flashlight. And so I opened my eyes and I was like, did I just make
that up? Like, did that happen or was that in my dream? And then it happened again. And it was
like full-blown two different flashlights going into the window of my room. This is real life, guys.
This happened. I was like, okay, I'm not dreaming. This is definitely happening in real life. And then my
dogs start to bark. And then I'm like, okay, I know I'm definitely not making this up because the
girls kind of started to freak out. And I have never been in a situation like this where it's kind of
giving like, okay, so what do you do? I legit froze. I didn't know what to do. I was so scared.
I was so scared.
I was like, why in the world?
And like our backyard is all blocked off.
So there's just no way that flashlights would be going through my window
unless somebody was physically in our backyard.
So that's really comforting.
And so I finally muster up the courage to get out of my bed
and I'm looking out all our windows
and I don't see anything or anyone.
And then I realized that I could check our security system
because we have cameras everywhere.
And so I checked the cameras.
and there were two men in our backyard with flashlights.
And the way that my heart literally dropped to my frigging butt,
I was like, this is my worst nightmare.
Like, why are two strange men walking around our home with flashlights?
And so as I zoomed in, I noticed that they had badges on.
And they looked like they were actually police officers.
And so I run to Ashley's room and I wake her up.
And I'm like, Ash,
really sorry, I don't mean to frighten you, but like there are men walking around our house right now,
like police officers, I think. And so we look at the other cameras around our house and they're like
scoping out our entire like property. And I'm like, what the heck is going on? And so Ashley is such a
baddie. You know what she does? Like the first thing she says we need to do is she goes, all right,
we need to pray. And so we just start going to war in the spirit and we were like all distractions
in the name of Jesus.
Any spirit of fear will not live here.
It will not prosper in the mighty name of Jesus.
Like, we are protected by angels.
We are protected by our heavenly father.
Went in.
Like, absolutely no fear in Jesus' name, right?
We were rebuking anything that was trying to come against us to make us fearful or
paranoid or scared.
The police officers are gone.
Like, there's nobody around here anymore.
Like, we've looked around our house.
There's no, there's no police car.
Like, these police officers must be on foot, scoping out the neighborhood.
I don't know.
And so then we're watching a camera angle that goes out to the front of our house.
And this man who definitely looked like the suspect,
like he looked like the one they were probably looking for because he was looking like
kind of an odd ball.
In the middle of the night, it just wasn't making sense.
You know what I mean?
And so he starts walking up to our house in a way, like where he was like walking on
the sidewalk.
And right before he gets to like our driveway, y'all, it was the most, it was the oddest thing
I've ever seen. He just almost looks like he changes his mind and just turns around and starts
walking the other way. Is that not like he was walking up that any, didn't look like he was in any
type of rush. It wasn't like he was running and then he like saw the cops and he was like, oh,
and he like ran the other way. It was, he was walking down the sidewalk and then just said, actually,
and turns back the other way. I don't know about y'all, but it's giving protection of the Lord.
like I don't know what his intentions were.
I don't know what he had done or what he was going to do,
but he actually physically couldn't step anywhere near our house.
And so that was crazy.
That was crazy.
And that's the end of the story.
That's it.
That's all I know.
But I actually had a lot of,
I went right back to sleep after that, which is kind of crazy.
I feel like most people probably would be so wired.
They wouldn't go back to sleep.
But I really felt the protection of the Lord, y'all.
And I think it's just one of those things, too,
that if you know that the Lord has such a calling on your life
and you know that he loves you, first and foremost, you know that the Lord loves you,
and you know that he has a calling on your life, there's nothing to be fearful of because who can be
against us when we got our Heavenly Father with us? Like when we have team Heavenly Father on our
side, we are untouchable. And I don't say that in a way to go be careless and do stupid things and put
your life at risk. That's not what I'm saying. But what I'm saying is we can have confidence in our
father that no matter how scary situations get or maybe how scary life gets, we need to have
faith in dad to know that he is actually going to protect us, like period blank. He will
protect us. That's his job as a father is he's a shepherd. He guides us. He teaches us things.
He corrects us. He loves us. He gives us things. He's a gift giver. Right. We've talked about that.
and he's a provider, he's a protector.
He will protect us.
And I really believe the Lord protected us that night.
So with that being said, I learned a huge lesson of, you know, just the sovereignty of Lord.
Just the sovereignty of the Lord and that he will protect us.
I felt so much peace, oddly enough.
Okay, everybody, we are going to be reading Proverbs.
So everybody crack open your Bibles, if you have a Bible near you.
it's always good to be able to actually like read the words tangibly in your hands,
highlight, underline, make notes.
Just for me at least, it helps me like it really gets in my brain better that way.
If you're not in a place though to read your Bible, that's okay.
I can just read it to you.
But I do think it'd be really great if you were actually sitting down with your Bible.
But also you could listen to this more than once.
And so maybe we listen to it now and then we listen to it again as we're reading it together at another time.
All right, so we're going to start right at the top at Proverbs 1.
And just a reminder, y'all, I am reading NLT.
That's the translation that I have now.
It says the purpose of Proverbs.
These are the Proverbs of Solomon David's Son, King of Israel.
Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives,
to help them do what is right, just, and fair.
These Proverbs will give insight to the simple knowledge and discernment to the young.
Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser.
Let those with understanding receive guidance,
but exploring the meaning in these proverbs and parables,
the words of the wise and their riddles.
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
We've talked about fear of the Lord before and that meaning.
Fear of the Lord, how I would translate that,
is truly just having like a respect for God.
So if you're ever looking at anyone and you're seeking wisdom and discipline from them, right?
So let's say that there's someone that you just really look up to, you know,
and you are like, this person is so filled with wisdom.
I would happily take correction from them, discipline,
because that's how much you respect them.
And so fear of the Lord is truly translated to just respecting Abba.
and just acknowledging too that he knows best and knows more than us.
So fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
So Proverbs is telling us that we are fools if we don't take wisdom and discipline from the Lord.
Because fear of the Lord, respecting Abba, is the foundation of true knowledge.
Because first comes respect, then comes the wisdom and knowledge that we learn from him,
the discipline that we receive from him, which is just correction, which is guidance, which is
wisdom.
And then we get to apply that wisdom, knowledge, and discipline to our own lives that we've learned
from Abba, but first comes respecting him, right?
Fearing him.
That's why fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge.
We don't get true knowledge without first laying down the foundation of fearing the Lord.
That has to come first.
Does that make sense, y'all?
My child, listen when your father corrects you.
you, don't neglect your mother's instruction. What you learn from them will crown you with grace
and be a chain of honor around your neck. My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them.
They may say, come and join us, let's hide and kill someone, just for fun, let's ambush the innocent,
let's swallow them alive like a grave, let's swallow them whole like those who go down to the pit of death.
Think of the great things we'll get.
We'll fill our houses with all the stuff we take.
Come, throw in your lot with us.
We'll all share the loot.
My child, don't go along with them.
Stay far away from their paths.
They rush to commit evil deeds.
They hurry to commit murder.
If a bird sees a trap being set, it knows to stay away.
But these people set an ambush for themselves.
They are trying to get themselves killed.
such is the fate of all who are greedy for money, it robs them of life.
Wisdom shouts in the streets.
She cries out in the public square.
She calls out to the crowds along the main street to those gathered in front of the city gate.
How long, you simpletons, will you insist on being simple-minded?
How long will you mockers relish your mocking?
How long will you fools hate knowledge?
Come and listen to my counsel.
I'll share my heart with you and make you wise.
I called you so often, but you wouldn't come.
I reached out to you, but you paid no attention.
You ignored my advice and rejected the correction I offered.
So I will laugh when you are in trouble.
I will mock you when disaster overtakes you,
when calamity overtakes you like a storm,
when disaster engulfs you like a cyclone,
and anguish and distress overwhelm you.
When they cry for help, I will not answer.
Though they anxiously search for me, they will not find me.
For they hated knowledge and chose not to fear the Lord.
They rejected my advice and paid no attention when I corrected them.
Therefore, they must eat the bitter fruit of living their own way, choking on their own schemes.
For simpletons turn away from me to death.
Fools are destroyed by their own complacency, but all who listen to me will live in peace, untroubled, by fear of harm.
I feel like we could read this maybe and think that the Lord would reject us.
Wisdom shouts in the streets, she cries in the public square.
I called you so often, but you wouldn't come.
I reached out to you, but you paid no attention.
You ignored my advice and rejected the correction I offered.
I feel like we could think of that as the Lord, right?
Being like, I've been here the whole time.
I've offered you wisdom.
You've paid no attention to me.
You ignored my advice and you rejected correction that I offered.
For they hated knowledge and chose not to fear the Lord.
I think maybe some people could interpret this as like if you've rejected the Lord or you've ignored
him or you've decided to go off of your own understanding versus listening to him,
that means that he wouldn't give you a chance because, I mean, this sounds pretty harsh.
I will mock you when disaster takes you over you, when calamity overtakes you like a storm.
Like wisdom is saying she's like, no, sorry, you rejected me, you ignored me, you chose not to
fear the Lord.
But I don't think it's something that we need to be fearful of, like if we decide to listen to our flesh,
right, and not always listen to the Lord.
Or maybe you haven't been saved yet, but then you decide to turn.
to the Lord, he will never reject you. I guess what I'm saying from my own understanding, and I could be so
off y'all, this is just Allie brain right now, is we have a gracious God, we have a forgiving God, we have a
compassionate God, and we have a patient God, you know? And so there are plenty of times even in my life where I
know I was rejecting the Lord and I was refusing his wisdom. And I was just living my life the way that I
wanted to live it, but there is still grace for that. But for me, at least the way I'm taking this
passage is it's like it's the people that are when it's too late, then they want to turn to the
Lord. And if you're living and you're breathing right now, it's never too late. Like if you're
alive, it is not too late. So now I'm looking this up because I use this app. It's called Enduring
Word and it's amazing. And it helps me break down and kind of get.
get like another POV of scripture as I'm reading it. Like it helps me get a deeper understanding
of it. And so when they cry for help, I will not answer. Though they anxiously search for me,
they will not find me. And it says, when wisdom is rejected, she has no alternative plan for
the fool. In the time of crisis, the fool cannot expect to beg for and receive instant wisdom.
Since the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge, to reject this respect of God
is to reject wisdom.
The consequences of rejecting wisdom cannot be avoided.
The end result of this love of foolishness and scorn will be death and destruction.
Those who do listen to Wisdom's call will be secure without fear of evil.
Their fear of the Lord resulted in their having no fear of evil.
Interesting.
Okay, so now we're moving on to Proverbs 2.
My child, listen to what I say and treasure my commands.
Tune your ears to wisdom and concentrate on understanding.
Cry out for insight and ask for understanding.
Search for them as you would for silver.
Seek them like hidden treasures.
Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord.
And you will gain knowledge of God.
I really love this, y'all.
I'm sorry.
I promise I'll stop making little comments,
but search for them as you would for silver, seek them like hidden treasures.
I don't think this means that the Lord makes it hard for us to seek his wisdom because he doesn't.
It's very accessible to us.
I mean, I'm holding it right here.
And we have access to the Holy Spirit as well, who is our translator.
Like, it is our translator to understanding the word and just understanding the Lord's heart, right, is the Holy Spirit.
So it's not that the Lord is saying that he makes it really hard to find, but we need to search for it as you,
wood for silver and seek them like hidden treasures. So I think it comes down to like our heart posture
is what it's saying, where if we are seeking God's wisdom like it is something so valuable,
like our heart posture is in a place of like, I need this. Like I know that there is so much
worth in it, right? I mean, Proverbs is comparing God's wisdom to things like silver and hidden treasures,
something that's rare, something that's not like a lot of other things, you know?
And so we need to look at the presence of God, like being in the secret place.
We need to look at the wisdom that he has to offer us and just being in communion with him
like hidden treasures.
Like it's so sacred and beautiful and it's precious.
It's precious.
Silver and hidden treasures.
That's precious.
And so if we're not approaching the Lord like that with a heart posture of like,
this is such a precious honor, like we're going to him and we're acknowledging the value in it.
If that's not the way we're approaching the Lord, we will never have a full understanding of fear of the Lord.
Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord.
Then you will understand what it means to fear God, like have respect for him.
and value what he has to say and offer us and the wisdom that he so gladly gives us.
Like it brings him joy to give us wisdom.
Cry out for insight and ask for understanding.
Search for them as you would for silver.
Seek them like hidden treasures.
Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord and you will gain knowledge of God.
Y'all, it's our heart posture.
It's our heart posture and it's our faith.
Like, do we have faith that when we cry out for insight,
and ask for understanding that then we would gain knowledge of God.
Do you believe that?
It really comes down to our hearts.
For the Lord grants wisdom.
From his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.
He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.
He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.
And he guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him.
We were just talking about it.
We're just talking about the scary story of those men in our backyard.
But God guards the path of the just and he protects those who are faithful to him.
That's crazy.
For wisdom will enter your heart and knowledge will fill you with joy.
Wise choices will watch over you.
Understanding will keep you safe.
Wisdom will save you from evil people, from those whose words are twisted.
these men turn from the right way to walk down dark paths.
They take pleasure in doing wrong, and they enjoy the twisted ways of evil.
Their actions are crooked, and their ways are wrong.
Wisdom will save you from the immoral woman,
from the seductive words of the promiscuous woman.
She has abandoned her husband and ignores the covenant she made before God.
Entering her house leads to death.
It is the road to the grave.
The man who visits her is doomed.
He will never reach the path of life.
So follow the steps of the good and stay on the paths of the righteous.
For only the godly will live in the land and those with integrity will remain in it.
But the wicked will be removed from the land and the treacherous will be uprooted.
I wanted to look up the immoral woman, like that whole part.
So I just look that up on my app.
Here Solomon especially spoke to his son who could be easily deceived and trapped by the immoral woman.
Wisdom could protect him from her.
The Bible's wisdom is much more sophisticated than much of popular thinking in today's world.
Today, there is a tendency to view things without nuance.
For example, to think of all women.
as victims to men.
This rejects the idea of the immoral woman,
thinking that if there is a sexual liaison
between a man and a woman,
he must be the predator and she must be the victim.
But the Bible recognizes that human beings
and human relationships are far more complicated than that.
Before Solomon described the immoral woman,
in any other way, he wrote of her
as a seductress who uses words,
to seduce. The Song of Solomon shows us that King Solomon knew the power of the female form,
but there is also great power in the flattering words of the seductress. The immoral woman
Solomon had in mind had a past record of disloyalty and unfaithfulness. This was evident not
only among men, but even more importantly in relation with God. And she ignores the covenant she made
before God. Marriage is a mixed covenant, partly religious and partly civil. The parties tie themselves
first to God and then to one another. Her house leads down to death. This is an important part of
wisdom's protection to see where a path leads. Time with the flattering seductress seems wonderful,
but wisdom helps us to understand where it leads and that it is down to death. And the treacherous
will be uprooted. Solomon reminded his son of the consequences of the path of the seductress.
It invites the discipline or the judgment of God, who according to his covenant with Israel,
promised that the upright will dwell in the land, but the unfaithful will be uprooted from it.
These consequences give us a clear choice, one or the other.
The Lord does allow us to feel consequences, though. He does.
and he gives us warnings before them.
Like that's what his wisdom is.
Essentially, that's what was said now is like wisdom allows us to see what would happen.
Like the Lord's wisdom actually allows us to see into the future and say,
okay, this is what happens when we do this certain thing.
That's wisdom.
And if we decide to reject his wisdom, then we feel the consequences of making those decisions.
He does allow consequences.
Yeh.
All right, Proverbs 3.
My child never forget the things that I have taught you.
Store my commands in your heart.
If you do this, you will live many years and your life will be satisfying.
Never let loyalty and kindness leave you.
Tie them around your neck as a reminder.
Write them deep within your heart.
Then you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.
This is beautiful because this is just the Lord's
saying, now take my wisdom and put it in your heart. Like, don't just read my wisdom, become aware of it,
but then not live it out. And so how many times has the Lord told us that even in the Bible where he
says, yeah, yeah, yeah, talk the talk, learn it, like whatever, but walk it. Like store it in your
heart and live by it. Then you will find favor with both God and people and you will earn a good
reputation. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart. Do not depend on your own understanding.
His will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Don't be impressed with your own wisdom.
Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.
Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones.
Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce.
Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.
My child, don't reject the Lord's discipline, and don't be upset when he corrects you.
for the Lord corrects those he loves.
And as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.
I love that.
We should never be offended or upset when the Lord corrects us.
Because if the Lord is correcting us, that means we are a child of his.
Because it says the Lord corrects those he loves,
just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.
And so it's actually quite beautiful when we allow,
the Lord to correct us because one it means he loves us two it means we're a child of his three it means
he's literally our father and four it means he delights in us it's like good news when the Lord corrects us
because it means that he loves us joyful is the person who finds wisdom the one who gains
understanding for wisdom is more profitable than silver and her wages are better than gold
wisdom is more precious than rubies nothing you desire can compare with her she always
offers you long life in her right hand and riches and honor in her left. She will guide you down
delightful paths and all her ways are satisfying. Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her.
Happy are those who hold her tightly. By wisdom, the Lord founded the earth. By understanding,
he created the heavens. By his knowledge, the deep fountains of the earth burst forth and the deuce
settles beneath the night sky.
My child, don't lose sight of common sense and discernment.
Hang on to them, for they will refresh your soul.
They are like jewels on a necklace.
They keep you safe on your way, and your feet will not stumble.
You can go to bed without fear.
You will lie down and sleep soundly.
You'd need not to be afraid of sudden disaster, or the destruction that comes upon the wicked,
for the Lord is your security.
He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.
Do not withhold good from those who deserve it when it's in your power to help them.
If you can help your neighbor now, don't say, come back tomorrow and then I'll help you.
Don't plot harm against your neighbor.
For those who live nearby, trust you.
Don't pick a fight without reason when no one has done you harm.
Don't envy violent people or copy their ways.
Such wicked people are detestable to the Lord, but he offers his friendship to the godly.
The Lord curses the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the upright.
The Lord mocks the mockers, but is gracious to the humble.
The wise inherit honor, but fools are put to shame.
Now we're in Proverbs four.
a father's wise advice.
My children, listen when your father corrects you.
Pay attention and learn good judgment.
For I am giving you good guidance.
Don't turn away from my instructions.
For I too was once my father's son, tenderly loved as my mother's only child.
My father taught me, take my words to heart, follow my commands, and you will live.
Get wisdom, develop good judgment.
Don't forget my words or turn away from them.
Don't turn your back on wisdom, for she will protect you.
Love her and she will guard you.
Getting wisdom is the wisest thing that you can do.
And whatever else you do, develop good judgment.
If you prize wisdom, she will make you great.
Embrace her and she will honor you.
She will place a lovely wreath on your head.
She will present you with a beautiful crown.
My child, listen to me and do as I say, and you will have a long, good life.
I will teach you wisdom's ways and lead you in straight paths.
When you walk, you won't be held back.
When you run, you won't stumble.
Take hold of my instructions.
Don't let them go.
Guard them, for they are the key to life.
I'm sorry.
Take hold of my instructions.
my instructions, don't let them go, guard them for they are the key to life.
Everybody wants a cheat code to life.
Like, it just makes me think about all of these books that have been written, just
leaning on our own understanding, you know, and like how to do this and how to do that,
and how to build a business, or how to find the perfect relationship, how to be a wonderful
mom, how to be a wonderful dad, how to be an incredible girlfriend.
I don't know. I'm just thinking back to all of these how-to books that are written and the
foundation of them are probably within our own understanding. But what the Lord is telling us right
now is to take hold of his instructions and to not let them go and to guard them as they are
precious rubies, right? For they are the key to life. God's wisdom is the key to life. God's word.
God's word is the key to life.
Oh my gosh, it's just God's word.
And so I'm not bashing any books that are written as long as they're written in the foundation
of the wisdom of the Lord, but the Lord is telling us that his instructions are the key to life.
Okay, I'm sorry, that just like knocked me out.
Y'all, he's given us the key.
He's given us the key on a freaking silver platter.
And now it's just a matter of us picking up the fork and putting it in our mouth, chewing it and swallowing it.
Don't do as the wicked do and don't follow the path of evil doers.
Don't even think about it.
Don't go that way.
Turn away and keep moving.
For evil people can't sleep until they've done their evil deeds for the day.
They can't rest until they've caused someone to stumble.
They eat the food of wickedness and drink the wine of violence.
The way of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, which shines even brighter until the full light of day.
But the way of the wicked is like total darkness.
They have no idea what they are stumbling over.
My child, pay attention to what I say.
Listen carefully to my words.
Don't lose sight of them.
Let them penetrate deep into your heart.
For they bring life to those who find them and healing to their whole purpose.
body. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Avoid all
perverse talk. Stay away from corrupt speech. Look straight ahead and fix your eyes on what
lies before you. Mark out a straight path for your feet. Stay on the safe path. Don't get sidetracked.
Keep your feet from following evil. I just feel the Lord's heart so deep.
in that. Let them penetrate deep in your heart, for they bring life to those who find them
and healing to their whole body. Oh, the love, the love of the father. All right, y'all,
Proverbs 5, my son, pay attention to my wisdom, listen carefully to my wise counsel. Then you will
show discernment, and your lips will express what you've learned. For the lips of an immoral woman
are as sweet as honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil. But in the end, she is as bitter as poison,
as dangerous as a double-edged sword. Her feet go down to death. Her steps lead straight to the grave,
for she cares nothing about the path to life. She staggers down a crooked trail and doesn't realize.
This is so good. I feel like this is a really great representation of,
just what the enemy does.
Because the enemy is seductive.
He's tempting and he even delivers things that your flesh would want.
And it's sweet and it's exciting and it's thrilling in the beginning.
Just as Solomon is, you know, describing this woman.
The lips of an immoral woman are as sweet as honey and her mouth is smoother than oil.
but in the end she is as bitter as poison and as dangerous as a double-edged sword like getting caught up and doing
the things of the world and following our own flesh and following the deceitfulness and the lies of the
enemy can be as sweet as honey and and it's always like the smoothness of like his promises and his talk
and he may even be able to fulfill a few of those promises in the beginning and it's really sweet.
and fun, but it always ends in poison and as dangerous as a double-edged sword.
That's truly the contrast of what the enemy does and what the Lord does is that the enemy
can fulfill things and so can the Lord, but it's about the longevity of it and how long you live.
Because this is a temporary live.
This is an eternal life.
Like following what the enemy promises us is so temporary.
And it's, sure, it can be delivered.
but it's not forever.
It's not eternal.
But with the Lord, it brings eternal life.
It's kind of like where we decide to just invest our soul.
Like, would we rather give our soul to something for a quick thrill and satisfaction for
now or investing our soul in the Lord, which would be eternal?
And maybe there's some sacrifice to that, but it's way more rewarding.
Because the thing about the enemy that we don't talk enough about,
he do be delivering things. He can. Because I feel like sometimes we like to think that the enemy is
powerless, but he does have some power. He does. He can give you wealth. He can give you fame.
He can give you the lifestyle, you know. He can deliver things. He does have power, but Abba is
more powerful and it's way more rewarding. And you live eternally with him. And you're safe with
dad. You're not safe with the enemy. All right, y'all. Well, we're just going to stop there.
I really enjoyed this.
I love Proverbs.
Maybe we will continue to read it.
I think we should in another episode.
We'll pick back up from where we left off.
And I love you guys.
I am grateful for the way that you guys are hungry for the word.
And if you're hungry for the word, that means you're hungry for wisdom, which means you're looking for the key to life.
You know what I'm saying?
Because that's what Proverbs just told us.
Like, this is the key to everything that we need.
We just need God and we just need His wisdom.
and then we need to bury it in our hearts and apply it to our lives.
So thank you, Abba.
I want to pray us out, actually.
Yeah, let's pray to God together, y'all.
Let's all close our eyes and let's just look at the Lord and just expressed our gratitude to him.
Because he didn't have to give us this.
We didn't do anything to earn it.
He didn't have to give us wisdom.
He didn't have to give us the key to life.
He didn't have to do that.
He did it because he loves us.
So we're going to thank him for that.
Lord, we just come here together as a family.
And we just want to thank you, Lord, for the wisdom that you've so willingly and joyfully given us.
Aba, thank you for your word, God.
And so Jesus, I also pray that in every single one of our hearts, that this is embedded in our hearts.
It's not just words that we read and it's not just facts that we keep in our mind,
but it's also something that goes into our hearts, God.
Because that's when everything changes.
Everything changes the minute that the word of God is embedded in our hearts and in our souls.
And so, God, I pray that as we continue to read the word together as a family,
our spirit man's grow, our hunger of knowledge grows,
and that all we want to do is just learn from you, God.
Lord, thank you that you've given us the key to life,
that that is not even something that we've earned.
it's not something we even deserve Lord but you willingly give it to us because you love us so Lord
thank you that you are a loving God thank you that you care about us enough to give us the key of life
it's just a matter of us actually applying it and using it and seeking it like precious rubies god like
silver and so Lord i pray for the hearts of all the listeners right now god that their hearts are
more fixed on just fear of the Lord like truly fearing you and loving
you and God, we just ask for more of that. We ask for more fear of the Lord. We ask for more hunger to know
you, God, and to learn your wisdom gladly, like joyfully taking your correction, Aba. We ask you for
more discernment, Lord, on just how to navigate life and make decisions and just to walk more like
you, Lord. We ask for more discernment, a heightening of discernment and just like gut feeling.
from you, Lord. God, we are so grateful. We are so hungry for you, Abba. We love you. We honor you.
You are our foundation. God, fear of the Lord is the foundation of our lives. And so with that,
we will learn more from you, God. We will become more wise. We will become more patient with the
people around us. We will become more loving. And through spending time with you and in the word,
it will just be an overflow of how we treat others. So I just seal this in the mighty name of
Jesus, God, and I just thank you for this episode. In Jesus' name, amen.
All right, y'all, speaking of overflow, can we do something really cool today?
Can we do something so cool this weekend for the rest of the week until I see y'all next Friday?
Can we show somebody how cool Jesus is? Can we do that? Let's show somebody, let's show somebody how
cool Jesus is today by walking more like him. Let's put that overflow into practice, okay?
all the wisdom that the Lord has given us today, we're going to apply it to our lives.
And we are going to love people as the Lord would.
We're going to show compassion.
We're going to look at people as the Lord would.
And we're going to help others feel seen.
Let's do that.
It doesn't matter what that looks like.
It doesn't matter who they are.
I challenge all of us to do that.
I love y'all.
I'm so proud of you guys.
I'm so proud of you.
I love you.
I adore you.
And I will see you in the next episode.
