Christ With Coffee On Ice - you should know this by now.
Episode Date: September 4, 2026Hey y'all ! Welcome to another Friday with CWCOI ! In this week's episode, our host, Ally Yost exposes that nasty and shameful voice that can cross our minds and make us question who God is. It can so...und like "you already know this" or "you should know better" or "haven't you seen God show up for you counless times already?" Underneath those statements is a subtle, spiritual shame and that does not come from our Heavenly Father. Instead of condemning ourselves during moments of doubt, we should use those moments as opportunities to grow deeper in our relationship with God. "The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust." Hello everybody. Welcome to another episode of Christ with coffee and ice. I am your host,
Ali Yost. It is a joy and honor to be here on a Friday with you guys. I feel like a lot of us are
still catching up on the news of us going Wednesday Friday. Like you guys are a little bit quieter on
Wednesdays, which is totally fine. I also realize that you guys have lives and you're doing things.
But it's so funny to see the contrast. Like I think we've been so, you even honestly, Katie, my editor and I,
we still are like oh wait it's wednesday like there's an episode that goes live today like we i think
we're all still adjusting to this double episode a week situation but it's been so fun but this is our
typical day these are the days that we're used to happy friday everybody we made it through the week
and um yeah i am so excited to be here with you guys today i hope you know that every time i say that
it is genuinely, it is from the depths of my heart that this is my favorite thing.
I love what I do.
I love you guys.
I am so blessed to have you, to have you a part of this journey with me.
I am so grateful, even virtually, and in a lot of ways, I have no idea.
But I'm grateful for the ways that I get to be a part of y'all's lives and that this podcast gets to be a part of your routines.
and yeah it's just so cool like one of my favorite things to do is to watch the stories on our
Christ with coffee and ice socials specifically Instagram and seeing you guys just living your
lives and then integrating the podcast it's the coolest thing and I don't know I think sometimes
it's just a reminder for me that it's like wow like this podcast is like a part of your guys's
lives in whatever format that looks like and it's just the coolest thing.
I love that God is doing that.
I am genuinely so grateful for what Jesus is doing here and continues to do here on this podcast.
And I am grateful for what he is about to do for all of us, including myself today.
Today is a very fun topic because it's a topic that I personally, I think it's been very relevant in my journey lately.
I've even been hearing from people in my personal life is like little comments like this.
and I've even been seeing it online as I'm scrolling.
Like I saw a video of this sweet girl who was sitting in her car and she was talking about how she's like, yeah, I should know, like, I should know this by now.
Like I've seen the way that God has showed up in my life before and I don't know how I'm still struggling with believing that he'll provide or believing certain characteristics, aspects and truths of who God's
as he is. And I'd love to talk about that. That like spiritual shame or guilt or just the genuine
feeling of being like, wow, I should know this by now. And I don't know if it was in our last
episode or a couple of episodes ago where we like lightly touched on that of how we really do
need to be reminded of the basics, the basics of what this walk is, what this life is, right,
here on earth. Like that it is temporary.
And I think a lot of times, me, I'll use myself as an example right now, but I so many times forget that this life is not the end game.
And God tells us in scripture that this is actually, we are foreigners in this land of which we live in, in this life here on earth.
And it's not actually our home.
It's not our final destination.
like life here is a gift and it's important and it's not that that statement like
invalidates or takes away any validity to our lives here or purpose right because i think you can
really go to the extreme with that and be like okay so what's the point of all of this and there's
many many points to all of this and also life is such a gift and there are there are lessons and qualities
and aspects of us and this life that will come with us in the afterlife you know there are parts of
character that God is shaping and forming in us here on earth that will be carried off into
infinity and beyond with our Lord and Savior in heaven one day. And there are things that we will be
able to take with us. And that is the way God has molded us and shaped us here on earth. It matters
the things that we do and the way that we show up in the world. And that is all true, you know,
but something that I forget so many times is I just I get so wrapped up in the moments that are
happening right now and I get so wrapped up in life now and I forget that there's more I forget
that there's a bigger picture and I think in that I forget how big God is and when we get back
to that place of remembering like oh God's actually shown me how big he is and he's shown me that like
the things that I'm worried about and the problems that I'm having right now are so much smaller than he is, you know, and I've learned that before. How am I forgetting that again? It is easy for us to lose sight of the basics, you know, that this life is temporary and God is sovereign over everything in our lives and that he is good and he is faithful and he is a provider, right? We know all of these things about God. These are the basics.
but we forget them and i want to talk about that today because i think there is a very real voice
that can enter all of our minds that can be very condemning where it's putting like this weird
shame on us in our spiritual walk in our journey with jesus that's like yeah i don't know why
you're still struggling with this like you actually just saw the faithfulness of god a couple of days
ago so what are you doing how are you forgetting this already and i was talking with some friends
the other day uh in a bible study and that was something that was coming up was somebody was sharing
they were like yeah i just and in my mind i was thinking how i thought we were over this i thought we
were past this i thought this was something that you know we learned to not worry about anymore
and i was so grateful for that person sharing that because i felt just a few days
that that same thought had crossed my mind where I was like, this is so like pre-K.
You know, this is this, in my opinion, is something you learn when you first come to Jesus.
How am I still having to be reminded of the same thing again?
And then going back to what I was starting to share, I was scrolling on TikTok and I saw this sweet girl sitting in her car and she was sharing that same feeling of frustration of being like, yeah, I have seen how God has actually come through for me in my life.
and he's been a provider and that I don't need to live in this scarcity mindset, yet I find myself
back in this scarcity mindset again. And I've physically watched God and his faithfulness. I've already
seen him come through for me. Why am I doubting it again? Because I think the truth is, it's easier
for us to have grace for ourselves if we haven't seen God come through for us already. You know,
it's easy for us to look at our situation and have compassion on ourselves and go, okay, well,
It makes sense that you're uneasy about this thing, though, Al, because you haven't really seen God come through yet or in this way before or whatever.
You know, you've never had to surrender something like this before.
You can have more compassion for yourself in a scenario like that, but it's harder for us to have compassion for ourselves when we've already seen God come through for us, yet we still doubt him.
Like at that point, in our minds, it's like, so what's, there is no excuse anymore because you've already seen the goodness of God before.
Now before we jump into today's episode, I mean we already have, but before we really get into the meat and potatoes of it all, we do have our Christ.
Okay, we have our Bible here today.
And we are going to be referring back to it.
So be prepared.
Have your Bible near.
There are a few examples and stories that I would love to refer to in the Bible because something that God was so thoughtful about is that even the topic that we're talking about today of forgetfulness.
not always remembering the faithfulness, goodness of God, his character, sometimes having a lot of faith
and seeing the way that he's come through for our lives and then sometimes completely forgetting that.
He was so thoughtful and loving enough to include those similar stories again and again in the Bible.
So the very thing that we're talking about today in the year of 2026, it's been happening since the beginning of time.
us humans we we stay doing this and so i'd love to talk about those stories and kind of normalize
that part of the experience of walking with the lord because i think it was very much a part of
the experience for a lot of the people here in the bible who were trying to walk faithfully
with god and and to be obedient and to follow his voice but still doubted him at times
that exists a lot in the bible so we're going to be referring back to scripture which is
life, it is our daily bread. Thank you God for your word of God. Thank you God for the word.
This is my sweet Bible from Hosanna Revival in our butter yellow. I'm still not over the butter
yellow, you guys. She actually might be one of my faves, if not fave. She's so cute. And we are
reading the NLT translation. And in case anybody is curious, I do have a code with Hossana Revival.
They're one of my faves. I love them. I love them so much. Hello. They're amazing.
They don't just have Bibles.
They also have journals and planners, and they're all aesthetic and gorgeous and cute and whimsical and girly and really girly and cute and feminine.
And I love them.
And my code is just my first and last name, Allios.
So if you ever want to shop them, I'm putting that out there.
You can save money using my code.
But yeah, we're going to read from the Bible.
So we have our Christ.
And then last but not least, we have our coffee on ice in our little glass tumbler, which we love.
because Jesus is also on the back.
Our Lord and Savior is on the back of our cup.
And yeah, I love my little tumblers.
I do.
We have our coffee.
Thank you, Lord, for coffee.
Okay, guys, are you ready?
I am too.
I'm ready for fresh hope today.
Actually, let's pray.
I would love to pray.
God, thank you for today.
Lord, thank you for what you have planned for us in this episode.
Jesus, I just lift up every single listener on the other end of this podcast.
Godcast, Lord, and I ask that you just have your way. Lord, you have your way with whatever you have
planned for them to receive today. Yeah, God, I pray that you just speak directly to their heart today.
And Lord, you encourage them in the ways that they desperately need encouragement from their heavenly
father. I pray for comfort that is supernatural and feels fatherly. Even if that's something that
they've never really experienced in their life, God, I pray for a comfort from a, a comfort from
their heavenly father, their parent, the one who has created them.
Before the beginning of time, you created them, you had an idea of them in your mind.
And so, Lord, I thank you for how much you love them and you care about them and you want to comfort them.
And so I ask for that in the mighty name of Jesus, Lord.
Holy Spirit, I pray that you just move through me today.
And yeah, I pray for impact.
Lord, only through you.
God, we give you all the glory.
that fear of you is where wisdom begins.
True wisdom begins when we have fear of the Lord.
And so God, I ask for more of that in each and every one of our hearts, God, including
my own, that today we have more fear, more respect, more reverence for who you are, which
then leads us to true wisdom, which is your wisdom.
So fill us, God, fill us with your spirit, fill us with your wisdom, give us a refreshing,
give us a renewal of our minds.
We love you, Jesus, and we are expectant for what you're doing today.
I pray all these things in your name.
Amen.
Amen, guys.
Okay.
So I think first and foremost, the thing that I'd love to lead with is acknowledging that
shameful, nasty voice that tries to manipulate us and make us feel like we should be
further along or we should just be questioning our walk of like, why do you even have to
be reminded of these things so many times, right?
let's expose that voice.
I think the truth of these kind of nasty voices that could cross our mind.
And again, it can sound like you already know this.
You should know better.
How do you still need God to remind you that he'll provide when he's already showed you
a million times that he will?
Haven't you seen him come through enough times already?
Right.
It's like very condemning.
It's not a very kind voice.
So that alone we know isn't actually coming from God.
Those statements, those voices, those questions are not coming.
from God, okay? Underneath those questions can be this subtle spiritual shame. And it can be like,
I mean, if I were actually mature enough in my faith, I wouldn't need to keep being reminded of
the basics. And I think there is that like underlying shame of, yeah, if you were actually as far along
as you should be by now, you wouldn't be struggling with these things anymore. But I think that the
question we need to actually ask ourselves when those thoughts come across our mind is like but is that
actually biblical you know i think that's where it's going to beautifully lead us into reading some
examples in the bible because when i look at scripture if we were to take any moment to just
to go back to our receipts right now and say okay is that actually biblical i don't actually see
people eventually graduating from their need to remember who god is even up until the point of
Jesus being crucified on the cross, people, his disciples, people who physically walked with Jesus
in person in the flesh, physically watched him perform miracles, doubted whether he was the Messiah
because he went up willingly, died on a cross. And they died, and some of them were like, I don't know.
I don't know if that guy was the Messiah. I mean, yeah, we watched a lot of miracles and we walked with
him for three years. And I mean, yeah, there were things that were undeniable. I mean, I physically watched
him bring a little boy back to life. He was dead. I saw a man walk out of his grave after being dead for
days. He was rotting in his grave and he gets up and walks out. Mary and Martha's brother,
Lazarus, right? Like, they physically watched Jesus bring people back from the dead, which has never
been done in the history of ever.
They watched him multiply bread and fish to
5,000 people from two loaves of bread and a fish.
It was that the, or was it?
Very little food.
And Jesus multiplies it.
Miracles.
He turns water into gallons of wine.
That was the first miracle he ever made.
But like, they watched him do all of these things
and they still doubted.
So don't you think that even people like Peter
who went back to his old life of becoming a fisherman and saying, well, I guess all of that was for nothing.
I don't know.
I really believed that he was.
Peter denied him three times.
As Jesus was getting arrested and taken away to then be crucified, people looked at Peter and said,
aren't you like really tight with Jesus?
He denied Jesus three times.
He says, no, I don't know that man.
I've never, I'm not tight with him.
I don't know him. Denies him three times.
And then goes back to his old life of becoming a fisherman.
After physically walking with you, don't you think Peter would have thought those same thoughts of like, dang, man?
I should have, I should, I should be better than this.
I should be further along than this.
Like I physically watched Jesus perform miracles.
And I swore to him that I would never, ever, ever betray him.
And I did multiple times.
like Peter was like
Jesus called him the rock
you know like he was the
he was like the guy
out of the disciples
and he denied Jesus
rejected him doubted him
and all of those things I think we could go
we could go yeah those are the basics of being a follower of Christ
though it's just not doubting his sovereignty
is not doubting his faithfulness
and not doubting that who he says he is
is who he says he is
right Jesus said he was the Messiah he made it very clear in more ways than one not only by the words that he spoke
but also by the miracles that he performed the way that he casted out demons out of people who were possessed
no one was able to successfully do that the demons would look him in the eye and go oh you are the one
it's like he never lied about who he was and he made it very clear and people still doubted it
So we could say, yeah, those are the basics of being a follower of Christ.
And we could condemn and shame and point fingers at people who walked with him physically,
but we're still doing it today.
And there's the truth of like, I think that is a very normal part of the journey.
And instead of condemning ourselves and shaming ourselves for having moments of doubting God's character,
we use it as an opportunity to grow.
You know, we use it as an opportunity to grow deeper in intimacy with Jesus.
I actually really think that it's only the times that we doubt his character and then he shows up regardless.
That's the other thing I love about Jesus is he's not afraid of our doubt.
He's not afraid of the ways that we kind of change our minds about him sometimes.
Whether we want to admit it or not, but sometimes we go, I don't know, actually.
I don't, I don't know if he's a provider this time.
He's been a provider every single time, but this time it feels different.
I don't know.
The weight of the situation right now feels a lot heavier than the other situations I've been in.
And I don't know.
I'm not sure he's the same God.
He's not intimidated by that.
He's not offended by that.
And so I actually think that it's in those times that we doubt his character and he still shows up for us.
He still loves us.
I don't know how you wouldn't become more obsessed with Jesus.
because we don't deserve it, you know?
It really is in those moments of being like, well, Lord, I doubted you again.
After you've already been so faithful to me up until this point, you've come through for me
every single time.
I have no reason to doubt you.
I did.
And you still showed up.
It's actually an opportunity to become more obsessed and in love and infatuated with Jesus
because it doesn't make sense.
He doesn't make sense.
No, honestly, he shouldn't, but he does.
he still chooses you.
And so I think that's also probably what Peter encountered and felt.
I mean, he did.
He fell to his knees.
When Jesus came back from the grave and he had the scars in his hands and in his feet,
and he went back to Peter after, right?
If you don't know the story of Peter, you got to read all about it
because you will feel so validated.
But the same way that God loves Peter,
is the same way God loves you.
And it's like, I can only imagine how undeserving Peter felt, knowing that he had denied Jesus,
ever knowing him, ever, like, being associated with him as he's being put to death for something,
he never, Jesus, as Jesus is being put to death for something he never did,
he denies him three times, he goes back to his old life, and then Jesus raises from the dead,
just as he said he would, he told everybody he was going to do that.
And instead of going, yeah, Peter, sorry, you should have believed in me.
Like, I already told you a million times.
I already made it crystal clear that I was the Messiah.
I told you I was coming back.
You denied me.
And after all of that, you go back to the old life you were living before.
You left it all to follow me.
Sorry, I already told you.
Instead of doing that, Jesus actually goes back to Peter, being risen from the dead, and says,
hey, do you love me? And it's like that Peter falls to his feet. He's like, who are you?
What do you mean? How are you here right now? How do you still love me? How do you still care about me?
Like, I've rejected you time and time again. Like, I've, I turned my back on you. I left you, you know?
And it's like, it's just who he is. And instead of allowing shame,
to overwhelm us, it's in those moments that we just get to encounter him deeper again and again.
And it's a gift. And it's just who he is. He's never going to give up on you. And so it doesn't matter
how many times we doubt him. Of course it'd be great to get better at that though. Like I would,
I would love to get to a place where I doubt God less than I used to. And I'd love to get to a place in my life.
and I know you guys all relate to this too, where we trust God's sovereignty more.
Like those thoughts cross our mind more of like, no, I know my God and I know my God is bigger
than anything else.
God is bigger than my problems.
God is bigger than my circumstances.
I know it.
Like I pray that that is our mindset 99% of the time.
More times than not, you know?
But when it's not, he doesn't change.
We may change on our stance with God because we're.
We're human and we're flawed and we're a little fickle.
And our feelings change all the time.
And we're weak.
You know, we're weak without him.
But something that God isn't is he can't waver on how he feels about us.
He can't waver on who he is.
Like he is who he is and that's it.
I was just reading in the book of Isaiah actually in our Bible study.
And it's that verse where Jesus says,
can a mother is like it was something like actually let's go to it Isaiah 49 I think it was
um it's Isaiah 49 15 when Jerusalem says the Lord has deserted us the Lord has forgotten us
verse 15 says never can a mother forget her nursing child can she feel no love for the child
she has born but even if that were possible I would not forget you see I have written your name on the
palm of my hands. Always in my mind is a picture of Jerusalem's walls and ruins. That verse,
verse 16, I have written your name on the palms of my hands. That is how unwavering God's love is
for you. It's permanent. He's engraved. There are some translations that use the word engrave.
I think it's ESV because we were reading ESV yesterday. This is NLT. But it was like, it said, I have
engraved your names, your name on the palm of my hands. And engraved is permanent. Unwavering.
It's there. It's set in stone. Stamped. Cannot be undone. That is how committed God is to loving you.
That's his character. It's just who he is to his core. It's his character. He's everlasting.
and so even when we are wavering it sucks it sucks that we that we waver on god sometimes i think even
paul put it well where he was like um i think it was paul right no it wasn't paul you guys i'll get
better with my scripture i promise so funny i feel like so many times i'll mention scripture
on the podcast here and i'll be like and where was it and who said that and i just vaguely remember
like i just got to we got to lock it in a little bit but it was the story
of this father who is asking Jesus to heal his son. And it's in Mark. It's Mark chapter 9, verse 24.
And it's a father asking Jesus to heal his son. And Jesus tells him that all things are possible for
those who believe. And the father responds, I believe, but help my unbelief. That's Mark 9.24. And so,
yeah, I think that that's so beautifully put where it's like we, we want to have faith and we do have
faith but we want to have faith in God all the time but I think even that father is such a human
moment you know where it's like I believe but Lord help my unbelief like help the times where I
lose sight and I and it's hard for me to believe in your character like and it's hard for me to
believe in who you say you are because I I do I believe but there is all
also unbelief in me. And so help me in my unbelief. But I think that doesn't come to a surprise for God
when that happens in us. It happened then. It's happening now. It's not a surprise that sometimes
that happens in his children. If that happens with you and you're like, yeah, I lost sight.
God help me in my unbelief. He expects that from us sometimes, you know, that.
we will be a little wavering, but he is unwavering to us.
And so I think a really interesting sentence, if anyone has their notepads out, write this down.
And I think this would be such a great statement to really meditate on.
Because I really believe that this is the truth of the walk with Christ, is that it's not that we don't outgrow the basics of our faith.
we grow deeper into them and so i think something that we need to do is take out the statements in our
vocabulary right now that is that we we are supposed to be outgrowing the basics of the gospel because
we won't we will always need to be reminded of the basics of the gospel but in those basics
if we see the pillars to the major belief system of which who you know who god is who he says he is what he's done
for us, who he says we are. Those pillars are like on, like I see, you know, the dirt, the surface
of ground. Okay, Allie, you're doing a great job, honey. But then in each pillar, it's like those
roots grow deeper. But those plants that are planted up on the top of the ground, like those don't
become any less irrelevant, you know? Like, those basics are still very important. They still need to
be watered, each of them. They still need to grow, but then the roots go deeper in each one as they grow.
You know, and so if we're not reminded of those basics, how will the roots grow deeper?
If those aren't being watered, if they're not getting sunlight, which is all God, you know,
he's the one like nurturing and taking care of each of those plants. But if we are not remembering
those basics and taking care of them at the top, how can it grow deeper? How can we have
deeper revelation of the basics of who God is in the gospel, you know, the basics of he is faithful.
He has redeemed us.
He is a provider.
He is loving.
He is kind.
He is unwavering, you know?
So it's not that we ever outgrow those plants, but it's that those plants, we grow deeper in them.
And I think even that's what I was explaining a couple moments ago where it's,
It's like it's actually in those moments where we forget, whatever that is, you forgot that God was a provider.
You're stressing out about finances.
You're stressing out about how you're going to pay rent.
Even though you actually have already seen how he's always provided, it may have felt last second, probably stressed you out.
But he actually hasn't ever failed you until now.
But for whatever reason right now, this time, it feels so much heavier.
It feels so much bigger.
and so because of how massive this one feels, you are forgetting the basic, but that he is a provider.
And so it's in that moment of forgetting that he is a provider that you now get to have a whole fresh revelation of how he really, he is still, still a provider.
And even in your doubt of forgetting or maybe not believing that he's a provider anymore because this feels too big,
even in that he met you there and now you get to grow deeper in that revelation of oh he's a provider
still even though this time it felt even bigger even though this time i actually completely doubted him
like the last time i had so much faith and i prayed on my face and i knew that he would come through
for me for whatever reason i didn't act that same way but he still showed up the same deeper revelation
deeper intimacy, deeper appreciation.
Oh, his character is always the same, no matter how I show up.
I think another interesting perspective too, and we've been talking about perspective,
perspective is so important.
We could look at these moments of doubt and we could think really negatively about it where
you're like, wow, you really stink as a daughter, like you really stink as a son,
child of God, you're not doing a very good job.
Maybe if we stopped looking at our moments of doubt, which we, I mean, I do want to say
that in any time that we doubt, I do think we need to repent for that and be like,
oh, Lord, you came through no matter what, but like, I genuinely am so sorry for doubting you.
Help me next time to choose belief in you.
you know um in those moments where we've doubted it could be really cool to switch the perspective of
like maybe in those moments of doubt and then remembering and you know needing to be reminded
maybe remembering is one of the primary ways god actually sustains our faith i think that it's in the
times where god reminds us that it like it almost ignites a new fire in us and in our faith you know
that in moments of doubt and then being reminded and then seeing the way that he shows up the same
every single time, that'll light the fire under my butt. That's for sure. Well, I'll go,
what the heck? God, you're the best. How could I have forgotten? It's actually in our remembering,
that could be one of the primary ways God actually sustains our faith. Now, the next question
that I think we could ask ourselves as we're reflecting and being like, all right, why? Why?
Why? Oh. Like, to be so fair, why do we keep forgetting? Why is that a thing? Why is that a part of the journey?
Because if it were up to me, I'd love to just never forget of the goodness and sovereignty of God and just trust in him all the time.
I think most of the time we haven't literally forgotten. And I think that that's why this shame monster can come in, because it's not that we've completely forgotten that God is good and he is faithful and he is sovereign.
and he is provider and comforter and lover and best friend.
We haven't totally forgotten that because the condemning voice is like, yeah, you know this.
So we know it.
And I think that if somebody were to ask you, even in those moments, of course, like, is God good?
You'd say, yeah, I believe God is good.
Of course.
Do you believe God provides?
Your answer would be yes.
I do believe that he provides.
So the question here is like, why can we know all of those things?
and still panic when something goes wrong or when it looks like God isn't either coming through
when we thought he would, which again, it's like, hello, who told you that? We put God on our own
timelines often. But whatever it is that sends you into a spiral in a panic, but we panic,
how does that happen? While we can still simultaneously answer those questions of like,
yeah, I believe he's sovereign, I believe that he's good. How can those live at the same time?
And I think that there could be a distinct difference here of there is a difference though between knowing and remembering.
Or I almost want to substitute that word to believing.
And I think that that goes back to the scripture we just talked about about the father where he's like, I believe but help my unbelief.
I think that's the tension sometimes is that you can know something without totally believing it.
while talking about this very topic today, I'm sure maybe for some of you guys, a story that's
come to your mind already is the Israelites when they were wandering around in the desert for 40 years.
Do we all know that story? It's in the Book of Exodus. I'd love for us to talk a little bit about
that because they are an incredible example and we love and adore them. And honestly,
if it weren't for them, we need this story. Because I think in a lot of ways, we are
them even today. The truth about the story of the Israelites is that they watched God send the plagues
over Egypt. They watched God lead them out of slavery. They were held in captivity and they were
enslaved in Egypt until God led them out of slavery with Moses. Moses was leading them to go to the
promised land where they would be free and can you believe that after a certain amount of time of
wandering and because it took a lot of time and it took more time than it probably needed to because
they were so fussy and doubtful and delayed a lot but that's okay God makes it work but
God was actually delivering them from a life of slavery and in that time of going from Egypt to the
promised land where they would be free, they were complaining. And sometimes they were even using words
like, yeah, well, at least when we were slaves, we had food and water. Like, I'd rather go back. They were like,
I'd rather go back to being in captivity than to be going through this to get to the promised land.
Even though God was literally doing them a favor, saving their lives, some of them actually even
wished they could just go back. They even stood in front of the Red Sea. And they even stood in front of the
Red Sea with Pharaoh's army behind them and then God split the sea. They walked through the Red Sea on dry ground and then Pharaoh's army was destroyed and all the water collapsed on them and destroyed the army that was going to kill them.
Like imagine witnessing something like that. I've never seen anything like that in my life. I've never seen God split the red like any sea.
but the Red Sea split it
and it's just dry ground they were able
to literally walk across
and then God takes out all of Pharaoh's armies
which was going to kill them. God has saved them
over and over and over again.
They've physically watched,
experienced, walked through these things
with God where he has miraculously
shown up for them.
Like how could you ever question God
after witnessing, experiencing,
and seeing all of those things?
And then three days later
after that you guys this is in exodus 1522 through 24 which honestly let's read it i would love to read it
but they can't find drinkable water and so they begin complaining and then they're hungry and essentially
three days later they get to a place where they're looking at god and they're like why did you bring us
out here to die they're complaining they're like we're hungry we're thirsty what we're just going to
die out here god what do you do what what was the point of all this they start doubting god's character
as a provider.
Then God provides manna
that rain down from the sky,
which is it's bread.
They're thirsty again, right?
And so then they ask,
is the Lord among us or not?
Which basically I think translates to
Is God even with us?
They are asking that question
after God literally split the Red Sea
delivered them from Pharaoh
and his army
destroying them.
He's provided
everything that they've needed step by step but he has and so after all of that they're still like yeah
is god even with us though we could read that and be so frustrated but honestly y'all that's us
that's us even after everything that they have witnessed they still questioned but is god with us though
because i'm really hungry and thirsty and it just kind of feels like we're going to die out here
And I think that the key point here is that their current need became louder than their memory of God's previous provision.
Like, I think, and this goes back to what I was sort of kind of saying at the beginning of this episode,
it kind of came randomly where I was like, this life is so much smaller, but it's true.
Like, it's that they were so short-sighted on what was happening right now, right here, in this bubble.
Your relationships right now, the dynamic in your workspace, right now.
the rent that you have to pay this month the situations that are happening right now they were so
consumed in that they let their current situation their current need become louder than their
memory of god's previous provision and that's what we do y'all i think that i think that is actually
the first domino that happens in our in our minds and i again i think that comes down to perspective
and remembering how important perspective is,
is we just, we get really consumed with what's happening.
And we let it be so loud and so heavy that we forget,
we forget that there's more beyond.
We forget about the times that we've actually seen God come through.
We lose memory of all the ways that God has provided before.
And I think speaking from my own experience, like, it has taken more for me in those moments to try to really reroute my brain and shift my perspective and remember about the faithfulness and the goodness of God.
It's been more to shift me than just a simple, yeah, okay, I mean, yeah, I remember the last time he came through for me.
It's like, no, I actually think we need to go back and like really relive what it felt like.
like think about the last time that God came through for you miraculously and in a way where you
really did not see any chance of there being change you didn't see any chance that they're being
change you didn't see any chance of anything good coming out of it like as much as as we don't
really want to do it I think it's really important for us to dig deep in those and remember like journal
about it, write about it, reflect with God, but really remember where you were at.
Like, remember what it felt like.
What did that situation feel like?
What were the thoughts that were going through your head at that time?
How did things look?
They looked pretty bad, right?
It felt really heavy.
There were a lot of tears that were shed over that, right?
Like, relive it for a second.
That's the kind of remembering we need to remember.
And it's not just a simple like, yeah, okay, yeah, God came through for me then.
No, remember it.
Remember it.
And I think that it's it's that amount of like remembering that I'm, it, it helps me snap out
of that where I'm like, wait, no, I remember how hard that was.
I remember how devastated I felt.
I felt like there was no chance.
It was over.
It felt like my world was crumbling around me.
And you know what?
Now that I've taken the time to remember that that was actually my reality, then that is actually
kind of how it feels right now.
I feel like my world is crumbling.
great okay that's actually a really good start that's a really good thing so now we're remembering how it felt
like life was crumbling then now you're like oh yeah actually it does feel like it's crumbling in this
that feeling is happening again remember that and remember that god came through for you then he
will come through for you now in that same way it's it's that kind of remembering that i think
is actually going to make an impact instead of just simply being like okay yeah god like
Yeah, he made manna, you know, fall from the sky yesterday, but like, I don't know, what about today?
It's like, no, take a second and remember.
Because I think that, like, the other lie that can happen in our mind, too, is, like, if we don't really take the time to reflect and truly remember, like, every aspect of that last hardship, if we don't take the time to do that, it's this thought of like, yeah, okay, well, God, yeah, he rescued me from that and he helped me in that.
but this time it's different.
It's like, okay, if you actually take the time to test, test that statement, be like,
okay, the circumstances might be different.
The situation might be different.
But is it that different?
Like if you go back and remember how you felt then and how you're feeling now,
there's probably a lot more common denominators than you're willing to recognize
because it's easier to just panic and be like,
it's different this time though but is it at that time in your life that particular thing felt like
the biggest heaviest most impossible situation now that's in your past you're realizing oh it wasn't
the end of my life it actually wasn't the biggest most impossible thing for god at that time
that was and now you're faced with another one and then one day you're going to look back at this
situation you're going to go yeah I thought that was the end of everything and it wasn't and
it's just it's just that constant like growth and sanctification of believing that it's the end of your life
and then you're like no it's not actually because god still is the same today as he was yesterday as he is
tomorrow and forever and ever amen he's the same and the truth is is that when we are scared
because i think the truth is is all that this is rooted in fear even with the Israelites leaving
Egypt for 40 years. Like every time they'd revert back to, you know, is God even with us? What's
going on? It was fear. They were afraid they were going to die. They were afraid that this long journey
would be worth nothing and it would go in vain. And they would never get to this place called the
promised land. And so I think the truth is, is that, yeah, when we're scared, the thing in front of us
immediately, it becomes enormous. And it's in our fear that it feels
So big. And then suddenly, you know, in experiencing that fear, everything we know about God feels so far away.
Okay. So if we just fast forward a little bit, let's go to chapter 14 in Exodus.
It says, then the Lord gave these instructions to Moses. Moses is the one who is leading all of the Israelites out of Egypt.
And God is telling him what to do and how to lead these people, right?
So he says, order the Israelites to turn back and camp by Pi.
It's literally P.I. Dash.
Hachiroth.
Okay.
Between Migdal and the sea.
Camp there along the shore across from Bal Zephan.
Then Pharaoh will think the Israelites are confused.
They are trapped in the wilderness.
And once again, I will harden Pharaoh's heart.
and he will chase after you. I have planned this in order to display my glory through Pharaoh and his whole
army. After this, the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord. So the Israelites camped there as they were told.
So obviously, God is strategically hardening Pharaoh's heart so that Pharaoh will order his armies after them.
but then obviously we'll see that it's because God is going to split the Red Sea and then they'll be
engulfed in that while the Israelites get to walk through unharmed.
Now this is in verse five. It says when the word reached the king of Egypt that the Israelites had fled,
Pharaoh and his officials changed their minds. What have we done? Letting all those Israelites slaves
get away, they asked. So Pharaoh harnessed his chariot and called up his troops.
He took with him 600 of Egypt's best chariots, along with the rest of the chariots of Egypt, each with its commander.
The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, so he chased after the people of Israel,
who had left with fists raised in defiance.
The Egyptians chased after them with all the forces in Pharaoh's army, all his horses and chariots,
his charioteers, and his troops.
The Egyptians caught up with the people of Israel,
as they were camped beside the shore near that word again.
P.I. dash.
Harith.
Ha.
Ha-hiroth.
Across from Balzafan.
As Pharaoh approached, the people of Israel looked up and panicked
when they saw the Egyptians overtaking them.
They cried out to the Lord, and they said to Moses,
why did you bring us out here to die in the wilderness?
Weren't there enough graves for us in Egypt?
What have you done to us? Why did you make us leave Egypt?
Didn't we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt?
We said, leave us alone. Let us be slaves to the Egyptians.
It's better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness.
But Moses told the people, don't be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today.
The Egyptians you see today will never be the same again.
The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.
Fun fact is I have that verse tattooed.
That was the first tattoo I ever got before I really even knew anything about God.
I had seen that verse in Hobby Lobby.
And I got it.
It was like this wooden decorative piece of scripture.
And I had it in my place.
I hung it and I got it tattooed on me.
I didn't even really.
But my interpretation was like, just chill out.
Okay, the Lord will fight for you.
You need only to be still.
or this translation says the Lord himself will fight for you just stay calm take a chill pill and I liked that I liked the thought of that but um yeah so what we're seeing here is that the Israelites are like yeah I don't understand why you would lead me out here like we're gonna die this is exactly what we said would happen the Egyptians found us they're going to kill us it would have been better to just stay a slave at least we got food and water than to die out here in the wilderness
So then in verse 15 it says, then the Lord said to Moses, why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving. Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the sea. Divide the water so the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground. Imagine being Moses and hearing God say that. It's like, what are you even talking about God? That's crazy. He says, and I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians and they will charge in after the Israelites. My great glory will be displayed through.
Pharaoh and his troops, his chariots and his charioteers, when my glory is displayed through them,
all Egypt will see my glory and know that I am the Lord. Then the angel of God, who had been
leading the people of Israel, moved to the rear of the camp. The pillar of cloud also moved
from the front and stood behind them. The cloud settled between the Egyptian and Israelite camps.
As darkness fell, the cloud turned to fire, lighting up the night. But the Egyptians and Israelites did
not approach each other all night. Then Moses raised his hand over the sea and the Lord opened up a path
through the water with a strong east wind. The wind blew all that night, turning the seabed into dry land.
So the people of Israel walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground with walls of water on each
side. Hello? That's insane. That's the God that you pray to every day, by the way. Okay.
Then the Egyptians, all of Pharaoh's horses, chariots and charioteers, chased them into the middle of the sea.
But just before dawn, the Lord looked down on the Egyptian army from the pillar of fire and cloud,
and he threw their forces into total confusion.
He twisted their chariot wheels, making their chariots difficult to drive.
Let's get out of here.
Away from these Israelites, the Egyptians shouted.
The Lord is fighting for them against Egypt.
That's crazy.
when all the Israelites had reached the other side,
the Lord said to Moses, raise your hand over the sea again.
Then the waters will rush back and cover the Egyptians and their chariots and charioteers.
So as the sun began to rise, Moses raised his hand over the sea and the water rushed back into its usual place.
The Egyptians tried to escape, but the Lord swept them into the sea.
Then the waters returned and covered all the chariots and charioteers, the entire army,
of Pharaoh. All of the Egyptians who had chased the Israelites into the sea, not a single one survived.
But the people of Israel had walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground as the water stood up like a
wall on both sides. That is how the Lord rescued Israel from the hand of the Egyptians that day.
And the Israelites saw the bodies of the Egyptians washed up on the seashore. When the people of Israel
saw the mighty power that the Lord had unleashed against the Egyptians, they were filled.
with awe before him. They put their faith in the Lord and in his servant Moses. Then Moses and the people
of Israel sang this song to the Lord. It's a song of deliverance. We will not read that right now,
but they are worshiping God, right? And they're like, oh my gosh, Lord, you are literally the best.
I can't believe that we just witnessed that. You just did that. We love you. Okay. We're fast forwarding a
little bit but God says, then the Lord said to Moses, I have heard the Israelites complaints. Now tell them in the
evening you will have meat to eat and in the morning you will have all the bread you want. Then you will know that I am the
Lord your God. And it's just like, it's the patience that God has just days after performing something so
insane that the Israelites are like, they said if only the Lord had killed us back in Egypt, they moaned.
There we sat around pots filled with meat and ate all the bread we wanted.
But now you have brought us into this wilderness to starve us all to death.
Like, yeah, that's what God was doing.
That's his character, guys, is that he walked you through all of this just to let you die in the wilderness.
Let us remember that.
Sure, yeah, okay, is that the lie we really want to believe today?
Is like, okay, let's remember all that God has delivered us from.
And if that's hard, if it's still not working for you to like put your feet back in those shoes and remember where you were at and remember how heavy and devastating it felt, like if that's not enough, why in the world could you ever believe?
Or why would God ever walk you through all of that just to let you die here?
Because that's what the Israelites are saying here.
They're like, they just, God just walks them through something so impossible, just 72 hours prior.
and they're already going, yeah, why lead us here just to let us die?
I don't think that's God's goal.
I don't think that's God's goal in your story.
Like, whatever it is that you genuinely are lacking belief that God will walk you through
this or provide or do the very thing that he promises all of us to do,
which is that he's faithful to us and that he will get us through all of our trials,
it's like, why would he do all of that just to leave us here?
That doesn't feel very realistic.
But the Israelites demonstrated that perfectly for us in Exodus.
And even in that, the patience God has, he says, okay, I've heard the Israelites complaints.
Now tell them in the evening, they will receive all the meat and bread that they need.
And he still provides.
He has so much patience.
He does that for us time and time again.
I think something that's very obvious in these, you know, condemning voices that are, like, spiritually shaming us about doubting God sometimes.
is that there is a difference between the spiritual shame, like that condemning voice,
and actual conviction.
Because I do believe that even in this episode, we have been convicted, right?
There's conviction that is happening right now.
But that shameful condemning voice, it says something like you should know this by now when
conviction rather says, you're afraid again.
Remember who God is.
Conviction actually directs your attention towards God, but shame will always, always trap your attention on yourself.
You're afraid again?
After everything God is done for you, like it's very like it makes you look at yourself and point fingers at yourself instead of actually bringing your attention back to God and who he is.
That's conviction. Conviction, it'll never make you feel like the solution is to show.
shame away from God and be like, God, I should be better than this. I should, I should be better to you.
These things shouldn't. And then it's hard to even face God. That's shame. Which actually, I write a lot
about shame in my book here. My child who's still sitting with us. Love That Last. It's my book available for
pre-order still. Yes, we're still in pre-order season. But yeah, I write a lot about that monster of shame and how,
it doesn't it doesn't actually pull us towards God. It makes us feel like we don't deserve God in a way where it's like I
have failed you too many times. I'm going to go over here. So I think a question that you can even ask yourself
in these moments too is like when I struggle does the voice I'm listening to make me want to run toward
God or hide from him. And I think that's the first indication of where that voice is actually coming from.
because Romans 8 1 says it best.
It's one of my favorites actually is that there is no condemnation for those who live in Christ Jesus.
Now I think one more aspect I would love to bring to this episode.
We've been talking for quite some time, but something that I do think is very important.
Is also remembering, because, you know, I mean, even us briefly reading just a little part of the journey with the Israelites in the wilderness.
I called it the desert at first.
or same thing though right they're in the middle of nowhere but um even just in that glimpse of that
story we see god's character of how he actually keeps being faithful like he keeps providing
what they need even though they're moaning and complaining and doubting right and so i think
just one thing that is really important for us to remember in these moments where we do doubt
God is how does God actually see us when we need another reminder? And I've struggled with this because I think
sometimes I project this persona on God and I think that's just because of the experiences that I've
had in life and in relationships and with people, like the brokenness of this world. I have kind of
projected that on God where I assume he's lost patience with me sometimes. I assume that he's disappointed in me.
I assume that he doesn't really want to remind me again, because he's already had to remind me so many times.
And I think the only reason why my mind would ever go there is because I've unfortunately experienced that through people.
And unfortunately, we do that to each other.
You know, we are broken and we don't have the same everlasting fruit that God does, you know, where it's like his patience and his love and his kindness, which is all the literal essence and, and,
and biblical definition of what love is, like that's who he is, that is everlasting. It doesn't
change. And with people, it sometimes does, unfortunately. And so I think sometimes I've, I've been like,
surely he doesn't want to remind me again. It's like, well, why do you believe that? It's like,
well, because I don't know, I've felt that before, but who have you felt that from? Was it ever
really God? Or are you actually just projecting aspects of people, you know, like broken humans
onto a perfect God.
Because it actually says in Psalm 103, verse 13 through 14, is it says,
as a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.
For he knows how we are formed and he remembers that we are dust.
God knows exactly who he's working with, what he's working with.
we imagine God saying seriously you're doing this again are you are you serious i just reminded you
this yesterday i just reminded you this an hour ago i thought we already came to a conclusion of of believing
this already how are we back here like sometimes we imagine that's how god feels about us
but scripture actually tells us that god is a father who has compassion because he understands
are weaknesses.
And again, it goes back to like,
God is never surprised
by the things we do
and the ways that we fall short
and the ways that we forget.
He's been prepared for that
since the beginning of time,
since he first created us.
You know?
He was prepared for that with the Israelites.
He was prepared for that with Peter.
He was prepared for that for you, for me.
Like, none of it takes him by surprise.
Okay?
He knows what he's working with.
And so that doesn't mean he leaves us in unbelief ever.
It just means that he then teaches us and he corrects us and he reminds us and he calls us higher.
But he does it as a father, like a loving father.
And so I think the key here too is like God's reminders aren't necessarily evidence of his frustration with us.
I actually don't, it never is.
I actually believe that they're evidence of his patience with us.
When God has to remind us time and time again, let us again shift our perspective from assuming it is coming from a place of frustration and rather a place of patience.
Actually, it's in God's patience and love and compassion that he is reminding you again.
Not frustration. Not disappointment.
Another really stunning, gorgeous, beautiful, loving scripture.
this is literally our dad talking to us it's in philippians 3-1 this is so pretty i don't know why but
this is so pretty to me like when i i see the scripture i see sparkles i see love it's so girly but
it says it is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again and it is a safeguard for you
a safeguard sometimes repetition is also protection i think that that's god's way of saying like
it is never a burden to me it is never a bother to me it is never something that will ever
be an inconvenience for me to remind you again i can write it a million i'll say it to you a million
times because i love you that much and you are never a burden to me if any
thing actually when I remind you it's like a safety net it's a safeguard it's something to fall back on
it's a cushion and so yeah I actually think that again perspective it's not that it's ever a burden for
god to he actually is like hey it's not a big deal for me to repeat I'm happy to repeat myself
as many times as you need to hear it because he's patient and his patience never runs out
and so it's it's actually a shift of perspective even in repetitive
where it's like if we've had to be reminded time and time again, we think of that actually as our
protection. Being reminded by the Lord is actually a part of Christianity. It's a part of the journey.
It's a part of our relationship with him. Now, one thing that I think would be really important for
us to kind of like wrap this and tie this off in a really cute bow.
And maybe a little solution solving of just being like, okay. So we've acknowledged that we will
forget and we will need to be reminded we've acknowledged God's character and heart in reminding us
and that we're never a burden and it actually doesn't bother him to do it and it's more so in our benefit
to be reminded believe it or not that when we forget about the characteristics of God it's in our
benefit to grow deeper in the basics right as a protection from the Lord to go deeper in intimacy
with him like there's actually so many good things that come from this we love that but also at the same
time like I do want to be a person who remembers though you know and so why don't we tie that off of like
okay so how do we become people who remember or at least just remember more right like we were saying like
I'd like to be a person who remembers more than not and so how do we do that and I think that it's going
well one I think it's going to take time I think it's going to take practice and I think some of the
things that will help us become people who remember. So instead of being ashamed of our forgetfulness,
we can build rhythms of remembrance. Like maybe that's a muscle that we want to, that we want to get
stronger at. And so I think, and I've done this so many times, I actually have the inside of my
closet door, I have sticky notes of prayers that I would love for my, for my Lord.
for my dad to answer and I've taken some down and I've moved them to a section where God has answered
them and I think that's like such a great visual of like just just a physical reminder of God's
faithfulness of seeing the things that were not answered and are now answered but I think another
thing that you can write down to to help you remember and become a person of remembering the
sovereignty of God and who he is is writing things down that you once thought that you'd never
survive like genuinely like go back to times where you thought it was it there's no way out
write those things down and put them in a place where you will see them often and be like nope well
god actually got me through one of the darkest hardest times of my life where i thought i would
never get out keep evidence i think that would really be like a major key to being a person
who remembers is just making sure that you are keeping physical evidence that you are keeping physical
writing it down, right?
But like keeping some kind of evidence of his faithfulness somewhere that you can return to
and read over and over again.
Remembering is so good.
But like even maybe preaching your own testimony back to yourself.
Like when you're facing something new, remembering all of what God has already done in your life.
How has he already changed you so much?
You know, what are the things that you really lacked in?
whether that's, you know, just who you are as a person, your character, or circumstances, you know, seasons of your life.
But like, where are places where you're like, oh my gosh, like I am an entirely different person or my life looks so different?
And granted, yes, the new thing that I'm facing right now seems really huge.
But just reminding yourself of your own testimony or testimonies of what God has already done and how far you've already come, how far he's taken you.
I think another really, really, really important thing to do, and this is something that we can't
ever lose in our journeys, is like reading scripture, even if you already know the story.
And I put that in air quotes because it's like I think a lot of times we, you know, we don't want to
read this.
Okay, we've heard about the story of the Israelites in the wilderness for 40 years.
I don't want to read it again.
But you might not need new information, right?
you might not need a new story that you haven't heard all the time you may actually need an old
truth brought back into focus and and an old story that you've heard a million times be brought back
into a new perspective and a new light where like the word of God is living and alive and it is and it is
life giving it does not lose that no matter how many times you've heard it and so even the same
stories that you've read over and over again right like peter walking on water it's like that's the
story that literally saved me. Like that was the story that I read in the Bible that introduced me
to the spirit of God and changed my life forever. I've read it so many times. But that doesn't mean
that I can't still read it and it's not still alive and it's not still transformative. And it's not
still the very words that can renew my mind again and again and again and again. And so I think that's
something we can also do is like, do not stray away from the stories you already know. You know,
like yes new stories are great but like do not feel like the stories that you've already heard a million
times or the stories that you're already so familiar with you could probably recite them back
can't still bring you back into focus that you need to be brought back into there can even be
an aspect of like spiritual discipline in all of these things too that god has so much fruit and so
like he has so much more in one single thing for us than we even realize sometimes because
it's like we're talking about all of the things that come out of forgetting and remembering and
all of that but then there's also this aspect like this piece of fruit of then practicing our
spiritual discipline because the truth is it's like with remembering who god is is also making
sure that we are we are making ourselves have some kind of rhythm of remembrance which is going
to take discipline and so again if that's writing things down if that's going back and
reading old stories that you don't you're like i already know this a million times if that's prayer
worship um communion journaling right scripture community like these aren't boxes christians check to prove
they're disciplined it shouldn't just be that they're practices that continually turn our attention
back toward god and it is it is an action of bringing ourselves back to remembering again and again
and again. We're going back to remembering. It's about creating a lifestyle and creating rhythms of
remembrance. That is the very thing that will always keep us so rooted in the truth of who God is.
And so if we want to become people who remember, we have to be a person of discipline,
spiritual discipline with the Lord and creating real habits and rhythms with God.
So this is my final thought in today's episode. Thank you, Holy Spirit. Thank you Holy Spirit for today's
episode. But I think our final thought here, okay, concluding statement of what we learned about today is that
we don't graduate from needing the gospel. Okay, that's the truth. That was the truth when we first came to
Christ. That is going to be the truth every day until the day that we die. But we never graduate from
needing the gospel. We never graduate from needing to remember that God is good, that he is faithful,
that he is present, that he is sovereign, and that he is trustworthy. The goal of maturity isn't to need
those truths less, it's to become more deeply rooted in them. Right? We think about, and go back to
that picture of all the plants, like those are the simple truths of the gospel that we will never
graduate from but hopefully over the span of our lives we get to have i mean we do through his spirit
and his love and his fatherhood but like we get to have the opportunity to grow each of those
simple pillars of the gospel we get to grow deeper in them and the roots get to go deeper
and so maybe spiritual maturity isn't finally reaching a place where you can say i don't need
God to remind me these things anymore, right? Like, I don't need God to remind me that he's good
because I believe he's good all the time and I never waver on that. I don't think that's the goal here.
I don't think that's an achievable expectation to put on yourself or a goal, right? Again, we can,
we can want to become more of a person who remembers, but like we will never be the person that's
like, yeah, I never need God to remind me of his goodness anymore. Nah, I don't struggle with that
anymore. That's not real. That's not a real expectation. But I think maybe it's just learning to
recognize sooner that I've forgotten again and I know exactly where to go to remember. And it's like
that muscle that we will learn to go to quicker when we forget. It's like, oh, but I remember where I
am supposed to go to remember. And that's at the feet of Jesus, right? I'm to go to my journaling,
my prayer. I'm to go to community, to friends, to remind me, to scripture, to that story. And that
story I've read a million times. So anyway, I pray that today's episode helped lift off any weird,
ugly pressure of that really stinky voice that's like, gosh, I can't believe you forgot this again.
And I think this is an episode that I even I, that's not conceded of me. But I'm like, I could
listen to these episodes sometimes. Oh my gosh. I'm like, I need to be reminded of this so many
times. So this might be an episode that you have to listen to more than once. And that's okay.
It's okay to need to be reminded by the Holy Spirit. And so we just thank the Holy Spirit for moving
today. Thank you, God, for being here. I love you guys so much. So excited to read what you guys
have to say in the comments section below. I'd love to hear your testimonies, your thoughts,
your feedback, because I know so many of you, so many of you guys, each and every one of us
have wisdom to share of things that we've walked through, revelations, things we've heard from God.
It's my favorite part after an episode goes live is just even like soaking up what you guys
have to say in the comment section. But I am so proud of who all of you are. I know I don't know
you personally, but I'm just saying the fact that you're even here and that you're hungry for the
Lord and you want to learn, I'm proud of you for that. And I hope you guys have a beautiful weekend.
I will see you very soon on Wednesday of next week. Don't forget, we are Wednesdays and Fridays now.
And before we go, though, can we do something really cool today? Can we show somebody how cool Jesus is?
Can we walk more like him, talk more like him, be more like Jesus today? I love you guys.
And I will see you next time. Bye.
