Starting point is 00:00:00 all right we're back it's the circling back podcast my name is d. I'm going to host today. Joining me in studio, it's none other than Dylan Chivary. Thank you, Dave. I literally just looked down at the rundown and saw that you snuck it in there. So I'm going to step on the first talking point and tell you happy National Signing Day, college football. Just a fun day. It's a good day to be on Twitter. It's a really good day. Some people call it Flipmas. I think Micah likes to say Flipmas because recruits will flip at the last moment. Flipmas isn't as fun now that you know they're flipping because they got a bag.
Starting point is 00:01:05 It used to be more fun when it was speculation like, oh, Baylor flipped a guy from Tech one year. And it was like, oh, well, they bought him a truck because he was driving around. It was the quarterback. It was the kid. Ended up playing a little bit in the league. Ended up on the Patriots. Transferred to Auburn, I think.
Starting point is 00:01:20 Can't remember. It was during the Browse years. Anyway, the message boards were like, oh, yeah, he was seen driving around like his senior year in a brand-new Chevy. Yeah. Like now it's just like, oh, yeah, he just got a bag. He just got a bag. He should have paid.
Starting point is 00:01:35 Back then it was more like, well, actually his girlfriend goes there, but she's actually transferring, so he flipped to Middle Tennessee State or whatever. The message boards are hot today. Yeah. There's a lot of activity, a lot of rumor going around. Texas is waiting on a five-star kid to sign out of Missouri. He hasn't signed yet.
Starting point is 00:01:57 What's going on? What's the holdup? So we're worried about that one right now, Dave. You guys don't really have much to worry about. No, I don't think so. Jarrett Stenum. Jarrett Stenum is Oh, yeah, yeah. That's what I was thinking of.
Starting point is 00:02:05 That was the one who, there was a car dealership involved, a Baylor alum or something. I remember that was hot back in the day. No one's brazen enough, maybe this was before NLI, to just straight up
Starting point is 00:02:17 buy someone a brand new truck right before signing day. It just, it looks, the optics are not great for that. Unless you're Eric Dickerson. Well, yeah. And then you don't go to that school well and that and that got you that got them oh yeah that's right that was a and m about yeah that he went to this area yes this is one of the funnier things y'all remember that story eric dickerson hall of fame running back
Starting point is 00:02:35 was committed to a and m because they bought him a brand new gold trans am this is in the 80s this is like early 80s this is like right before you were in high school. Then he ended up going to SMU, of course, and that led to, of course, he was paid a lot of money by SMU, which of course led to their death penalty, which will never happen again. Probably
Starting point is 00:02:58 not. In college football. Because it ruined the program. You may notice a glaring lack of one Will DeFreeze today, who we'd love to mix it up with on all things Texas, Alabama, and Michigan signing day. Yes. Because, I mean, he's got – all three of those teams hold a piece of his heart.
Starting point is 00:03:15 That's true, yeah. Which is pretty dope because they're 75% of the playoffs. He's pretty much got a good shot at being happy when this thing's done. He sure does. He is out today. Do you want to tell people where he's got he's pretty much got a good shot at being happy when this thing's done but there does he is out today do you want to tell people where he's at um yeah he's getting uh what was the procedure he's getting done uh back blown out of plasty yeah yeah because the last one didn't take so he's got to go back in yeah it was botched you know how like uh you know you see quarterback or athlete has surgery and it's always so andand-so had successful ACL surgery today.
Starting point is 00:03:47 Well, his back blown out of plasty was unsuccessful last time, so they're running it back. Yeah. Yeah, we are not covering for the birth of his third child like we did for Dave. He's just sick. Yeah. He's got some sinus issues. Me too, though.
Starting point is 00:04:02 I'm sick. You sick with it. No TV today or no camera yeah no video is a different way of putting it like brett's gone no randy it's just just me and dave uh james friend of the show just came by yeah to pick up some early bird which i guess we're just we're just supply the city of awesome early bird now we're gonna have a mom but we knew we would just freeze up yeah we didn't want to get too nervous. Hey, good news. The Roback Wilmonds polos are still available.
Starting point is 00:04:28 Use code BACKER20. BACKER20. BACKER20. They have all kinds of stuff cooking right now. So have you worn your fleece yet? No. Yes, I have. I have once.
Starting point is 00:04:42 It's great. Very good. By the way, have you gotten this yet? The new t-shirt? No, I have not. Oh, I have. I have once. It's great. Very good. By the way, have you gotten this yet? The new t-shirt? No, I have not. Oh, wait. They sent me some stuff. I haven't opened it yet.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Buddy, guess what? It's different. They've been making these for a while now. Yeah? These are maybe the softest t-shirt in my whole closet, and that's not a joke. It looks great. Yeah. Yeah, we're kind
Starting point is 00:05:05 of at the point where we can't really open we're with roads being almost three my son and my partner roads um he wants to open every package because he's smart enough to know that he gets a lot of stuff so we're at when we get something we have to just immediately sneak it to the garage because it could be a christmas present and if we don't open it, he'll freak out. So the Roebuck package they sent a couple days ago got caught up in that. So I've got something to look forward to. Maybe I'll just wrap it and then unwrap it on Christmas. There's some really good stuff in there.
Starting point is 00:05:36 But this new tee, which can be worn, honestly, casually or as a workout tee. It's kind of flexible. It is the softest thing ever. Anyway, Backer20. Backer20. At checkout, we'll get you 20% off. Load the cart because it is a one-time use code. We're doing vibe mails today, listener vibe mails.
Starting point is 00:05:55 We're going to record that after the show. Yes. So if you haven't, you probably don't have time to get a call in, but if you want to call in for next week or I guess the first episode in 2024, call the pipeline, 888-618-4422. Again, 888-618-4422. As always, get in, get out. Be tactical.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Newsletter, we dropping a newsletter this week, our sub stack? I think so. Okay. I've been off the keys for a couple weeks. You've got a lot to say there, I'm sure. Maybe. We'll see. We'll see what happens when I sit down tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Also going to sneak in a coffee Fridayiday at some point either today or tomorrow well obviously we would release it friday even if we did record tomorrow but be on the lookout for that as well yeah check that out go over to uh wash media youtube circling back youtube um and then check out washmedia.shop get some stuff there, some stuff for your loved ones. People love it. Ooh, normally we would do a five-star review of the week, but instead we're going to let Dylan just break down. We're going to let him grade Texas' signing day this far.
Starting point is 00:06:54 Go ahead, buddy. I'm going to give it a solid A. An A-plus if there was some kind of maybe – actually, there's like a five-star D tackle committed to A&M that Texas could potentially flip. Then it would be A+. That's the one position lacking a little bit. When you congratulated Landry in our group text,
Starting point is 00:07:15 he's a proud Texas Tech alum. When you congratulated him on Micah Hudson, it felt very much like you were kind of patting him on the head. I got to tell you. Yeah, I understand. That was sincere. I think that dude is going to be a day one starter for Texas Tech and a difference maker.
Starting point is 00:07:33 That kid is extremely talented. I'm a little jealous. And I know how much room to be. I understand that. He's a great player. Texas cleans up, especially at receiver these days, so I can't really complain too much. But, yeah, I'm a little jealous of that one.
Starting point is 00:07:45 That was sincere. Landry, sincere. Promise. I was trying to pull up a review, but I'm not really good at pulling those up on the fly. That's okay. Yeah, that's – They're probably just going to say Dylan's their favorite.
Starting point is 00:07:57 That's what they all say. Five stars. I don't know about that. Five stars only. Have we had any, like, good, like, signing day signing day drama like years past um or did we kind of know has it gotten to be to where like the who's the guy who does all the graphics hayes faucet yeah like there's so many of those guys that know everything that we've there's no surprises anymore so there are some guys that are that were expected to sign with a and m who might not be
Starting point is 00:08:22 anymore and look when you hire a whole new staff, you kind of expect some turnover to happen. But I don't think they plan for as much departing as looks to be happening. Other than that, the kid from Georgia, the quarterback, not from Georgia. The rule flipped? Yeah. That's a big deal. From Georgia to Nebraska?
Starting point is 00:08:44 Who's doing that? Not many people. Not many people are doing that. They're the number one quarterback in the country according to some sites. Anyway, that one's a big one. Hey, did you sense a little judgment when James came by to pick up his early bird that we were in here just watching the prices right before we record? Yeah, what's up with that?
Starting point is 00:09:00 He kind of seemed a little surprised. Yeah. Is that showing our age that we are not afraid to put on the best game show to rock at 10 a.m. Central? Well, I don't know how old James is, but he might have missed the golden era of Price is Right, the Bob Barker days. He's late 20s, maybe 30s.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Yeah, he doesn't know Bob Barker like we do. It was a goaded stay home from school because you're sick show. Every day. Yeah. If you were from school because you're sick show. Every day. Yeah. If you were home sick, you were watching that. You would sleep in, and you would probably wake up right around the time Bob Barker was spinning the wheel, so maybe like a quarter way through the show. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:09:37 And I still run it back when I'm home. I still enjoy it, too. Drew Carey though? He's no Bob Barker, but he does a fine job. He does well. Yeah. He's an interesting cat.
Starting point is 00:09:54 Is this a new sponsor? New sponsor alert. Give us the new sponsor alert. We have a new sponsor. New sponsor alert. Is there someone extraordinary in your life and you want to tell them how special
Starting point is 00:10:05 they are to you, but you can't quite find the words to properly capture your feelings? Probably. That sounds like us. Check out Songfinch. Songfinch is the ultimate gift to show how much you care. An original studio quality song inspired by your story that's completely unique, personal, and lasts forever. I had fun playing around in song Finch. This is actually really sick. And you know what? I'm going to do mine about my son and my partner Parks. It's going to be a rap song. Fuck yeah. And it's going to be about Parks. So I do this thing in the car where I'll sing over a song and I'll insert his name into parts. And he'll be like, dad, that's not- I'm sure he loves it. He's like, my name's not
Starting point is 00:10:44 in the song. Stop doing that. He's like, like, dad, that's not. I'm sure he loves it. He's like, my name's not in the song. Stop doing that. He's like, it's, you know, it's like an annoying dad thing. I'm going to blow his mind when this song is finally put together with his name actually in it. Yeah. You get to choose. So I too, actually, I think I'm doing it.
Starting point is 00:10:56 I'm either doing a hip hop song or an R&B song, but you get to choose like the person, like the artist, and you can go. There's a whole selection process. You get to see them. These are actual singer-songwriters. Yeah, you listen to clips of them singing. It's pretty cool. It's awesome.
Starting point is 00:11:19 Songfinch walks you through a simple four-step process to create an original song. All you have to do is tell them about who the song is for, provide some personal details, and let them know the type of song you want. Then pick your favorite song finch artist or get matched with one and they'll pour their heart into writing, recording, and producing your original song in just four to seven days. Special add-ons can help commemorate the occasion even more, like a vinyl record of your song, one-of-a-kind art crafted from your lyrics, or adding your song to streaming services so you can more easily surprise your unsuspecting recipient. Songfinch is the only original music platform that guarantees that you'll love your song or they'll work with you until you do. They stand behind their community of over 1,000 artists,
Starting point is 00:11:59 and every original song they create, over 300,000 of them. I needed this back when i was trying to date this would have been a game changer in high school you show up date three get talking a new baddie you know and you hit it with a custom song is date three a little soon for the song what if you show up date 20 you show up on like date the first date from a tinder and you're like which a little song loved your bio you go park Tinder, and you're like, which is a little song, loved your bio. You go park somewhere romantic, and you turn the radio on, and it's like a soft country melody about Bay.
Starting point is 00:12:35 Hey, babe, might I get the aux right quick? Let me grab that. For a limited time, Songfinch is letting our listeners upload their song on Spotify for free, so you can listen to your new favorite song anywhere you go. Go to songfinch.com slash circling and start your song. After you purchase, you'll be prompted to add Spotify streaming for your original song for free. That's a $50 value. This offer is only available for our listeners and our special URL songfinch.com slash circling. That's songfinch.com slash circling. Be sure, be sure to share your songs with us, man. Um, people were saying maybe Will was out because, um,
Starting point is 00:13:18 the nationwide nationwide Adderall shortage had really hit him hard. Um, and then what, Nationwide Adderall shortage had really hit him hard. Yeah, and then what? And maybe he had resorted to, I don't know. Boofing. Boofing. Boofing frozen energy drink popsicles. This comes to us from the good people at Reddit. This is apparently an actual thing.
Starting point is 00:13:40 How excited are you for the story on a 1 to 10 scale? Can I recently, I'll let you do the reading if you want, but I want to at least do the first. I think you should do it. Okay. So yeah, like Dave said, people are freezing energy drinks, turning them into popsicles, and then sticking them up their rectum to absorb that way. Straight up boofing, yo. See, traditionally what people will do is the energy drink will be unfrozen, just in liquid form. They'll crack open it and they'll just consume it via mouth. Yeah, that's
Starting point is 00:14:12 what a mouth's for. That's standard. That's what most people do. That's how it gets into your system. This is just a different way of doing that. And someone who apparently Reddit's been talking about this. r slash subreddit energy drinks, if you want to give the username. Right. And here's a Reddit post from someone and i'll the name will be given here in the first sentence but here the the subject
Starting point is 00:14:32 line or the title of this is update energy drink popsicle successfully boofed trip report hey guys it's limp dick calvin again it's Limp Dick Calvin. That's what his name is on Reddit. Many of you might have seen my post yesterday about my practice of freezing my energy drinks into icy caffeine sickles for my sucking pleasure. Now, quite a few creative folks recommended that I boot the Popsicle for maximum caffeine absorption. It's almost like a caffeine enema.
Starting point is 00:15:05 I've always wanted to boot something, whether that be alcohol, acid, or caffeine, but I never have. Acid is feasible, I guess, but the idea of pouring a liquid down my rectum just sounds difficult and unpleasant. Fair. For one, my butthole is rather... Okay. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Keep going. Okay. For one, my butthole is rather tight as it has never been penetrated. Yeah. So I can't imagine my brown balloon knot would be accepting of any liquid visitors, if you know what I mean. Yeah, we know what you mean. You're being quite graphic. You're being very explicit.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Another thing is if I managed to get the liquid in there and then stood up, is it just coming right back out? Just a total mess of a concept, in my opinion. Again, this person seemingly has a mouth. Right, right. However, a Caffeine Sickle actually provides me with the perfect way to get energy drink up my asshole. So I froze a thinner-than-usual Popsicle last night with a mixture of C4 and Monster Energy. You can't—wait, why are you mixing the two? Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Why are you mixing the two why are you mixing the two it's unnecessary i wonder if you took monster energy and to dump the c4 powder in there if it was a c4 drink and they mixed the two drinks i didn't know c4 offered a powder form pretty sure they do they probably do yeah this morning at 11 a.m i went into my backyard and used a chair to sit on the popsicle successfully boofing it This guy's got a boof chair? He does, yeah. Okay. I didn't know if I should bob up and down on it like a dildo, so I probably shouldn't read
Starting point is 00:16:31 all of this. This is probably a bit. Yeah, don't read the last part. And boy, was it cold. Yeah, all caps cold. Yeah. He goes on to say that it was successful, and he had quite the caffeinated trip. he said he feels like he could he could teach my i could teach myself how to do commercial real estate in less
Starting point is 00:16:50 than six hours of research i feel like my brain is limitless so it worked yeah the um the origin so he included a photo not of the actual act but of a uh a caffeine sickle and um this is uh 10 from 10 days ago on the subreddit energy drinks it says does making energy drinks and new popsicles lower the efficacy of caffeine i enjoy mixing together multiple kinds of energy drinks and freezing them into caffeine sickles but if the freezing process is degrading the caffeine molecules i'll stop immediately i need maximum torque that's fair so this is actually like okay this is a science class i'd like to know and people responded no it shouldn't change the caffeine bioavailability uh or its effectiveness have you tried this from uh user long range underscore titty milk. Have you tried shoving the Popsicle up your ass?
Starting point is 00:17:49 Calvin responds, no, I haven't. But if I were to boof an energy drink, I think this would definitely be the way to do it. So he scheduled a time, and as Dylan read, he successfully boofed, and he felt limitless. That particular Popsicle that he's showing in the frame there doesn't look narrow or thin like he described it in his post. No, hopefully this is not the one. I'm hoping it's not because that thing might be tough to to booth. When's the last time you had a popsicle? It's been.
Starting point is 00:18:19 It's been probably years. OK, I'm not a much of a popsicle guy, even when I was a kid. Yeah. I'm more of an ice cream guy. Sure. I've become, you know, we've got kids now, including some that like the electrolyte pops, the Pedialyte pops. Remember those?
Starting point is 00:18:39 Oh, yeah. You know, you kind of snip the top, then you push them up, and then a little, some of it melts, and you get that last few s, then you push them up and then a little, some of it melts and you get that last few sips of that electrolytes. Pretty nice. Oh yeah. I like a push pop. Push pops are great.
Starting point is 00:18:53 Push pop. The Flintstone one. Yeah. So good. Something happened with Rhodes will occasionally like get a little excited and he'll, he'll push too, too hard and he'll just shoot out on the carpet. After that,
Starting point is 00:19:03 I'm like, dude, we're not, this is not salvageable. Rhodes. That happens to the best of us, man. Yeah. He thinks he thinks the carpet. After that, I'm like, dude, this is not salvageable. Rhodes, that happens to the best of us, man. Don't sweat it. He thinks he can still eat it. I'm like, dude, have you looked at what's happening there?
Starting point is 00:19:11 There are now 900 dog hairs on there. We have a dog. Yeah. Even though we are famously a shoes-off household now. That's right. It's still, you can't eat that. You think this is going to catch on? Do you think people are going to start boofing energy drink pops?
Starting point is 00:19:26 Um, maybe like right before a pants beer hit? Why is it human nature for so many just to like stick things up there? People just like sticking things up, up their butts. Yeah, we need a, we need a woman in STEM to tell us like what the science behind that is. Yeah. Um, yeah, I will not be trying this
Starting point is 00:19:41 and then hopefully it doesn't catch on because it sounds pretty ridiculous. Also, you don't, you don't get to taste your, your delicious monster be trying this, and hopefully it doesn't catch on because it sounds pretty ridiculous. Also, you don't get to taste your delicious Monster energy drink this way. No, that's a great point, too. I think part of the big selling point of a lot of these energy drinks, Celsius being one, I think Monster even, they taste really good. They do. Some of them, like Monster is a little bit more chemically tasting, I mean. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:20:05 Yeah. You know you're drinking some shit you shouldn't really put in your system very often, let alone your two-hole. Remember the butt chug craze that swept the nation? Yeah. That was disturbing also. Yeah. When I missed that six days of work back in 2015 it was because of that i think a lot of young people tried to rationalize it by saying well you won't smell it on my breath so therefore if you know if
Starting point is 00:20:32 i have to talk to a parent or the police yeah you know it does get in your bloodstream though so you will register uh on the blood check yeah if that's how they want to arsenalize it like then that's their prerogative right i'm sorry if that's what they want to arsenalize it, then that's their prerogative, right? I'm sorry? If that's what they want to do. But keep in mind, we are not doctors. We are not giving legal advice here either. But if you boof, boof on your own accord and boof responsibly.
Starting point is 00:20:57 We don't suggest that you boof at all, however. No. No, I feel like I'm 39. You're 40, as everybody knows. Sure. I feel like our boofing days are behind us yeah cold it's cold up there yeah not good not good at all a lot man i miss reddit some of the most uh red stuff on uh pgp back in the day our old blog was we would just go to reddit and find something like this.
Starting point is 00:21:26 And you would just, it was really cheap content because you really didn't have to do anything. You would just post like, hey, Reddit's got this thread going off. You know what I mean? You'd link to it, you'd screenshot it, and then you'd put like 10 words. Reddit is where I found my guy goes to Mexico. Sorry?
Starting point is 00:21:42 What was that? I went to Reddit and this ad started playing love that sorry about that that's okay yeah my my guy goes to mexico to kill himself does cocaine and sleeps with hookers wants to keep a living post i just went to the reddit home page and it was like it was right there like this is a really funny story and the next thing i know going by next thing you, it's almost a cinematic masterpiece. That's right. But who knows? It still could be. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Does that ever make its way? Does that ever pop up on Reddit anymore? You know, some things will randomly reemerge going off on Twitter or wherever, Reddit. I've never seen it reemerge on reddit but i i see i my story my like the screenshot from my article it it still gets traction on instagram and twitter the other day someone sent it to me i don't know if you're here for that or that was before you came back yeah someone sent it to me the other day on twitter it was getting uh passed around again love that yeah speaking of passed around. What? I'm a big fan of our good friends at Point Me.
Starting point is 00:22:51 As am I. It's the first of its kind real-time search engine for points, like a kayak or Google Flights, but for points. Point.me, Point Me, shows people how to get the best flights using their credit card points or airline miles and breaks down every step of how they can move from one to the other on a mission to get people better flights for fewer points and for people to stop wasting their points. I can't tell you how many points I've wasted over the years. I needed this back in the day. If you have points and
Starting point is 00:23:21 you're looking to travel, if you go to Point Me, it will search for the best use of your points, basically. If you want to use them the most efficient way possible, this is what you need to do. They check for flights across 33 loyalty programs on more than 150 airlines to uncover a multitude of real-time award flight options. Point Me runs extensive business rules and logic to validate that the flights you see on PointMe are flights you can actually book. It's easy to use. PointMe walks users through every step from how to conduct a point transfer from a credit card to an airline, all the way to booking, which is critical. At every touchpoint, they've asked, could someone who has never used their points before use PointMe successfully? So there's lots of educational moments and opportunities to build confidence and understanding mission is to make it as easy
Starting point is 00:24:09 as possible for travelers to find the best deals no matter their loyalty program point me check it out go to point.me i promise you will enjoy your time very helpful very helpful um we got to give some love i know this has been a little bit of a sports intensive show today we're also going to do cross cross pod content here okay because we talked about this on too much dip yes so uh that's where this story originated it's a bit of a follow-up, if you will. Yes. I got Tommy D. I got T.D. out Jersey way. Looks like he made it right. Yes. We had the story of
Starting point is 00:24:54 Tommy DeVito. If you're not familiar with his story, he's been thrust into the starting quarterback position for the New York Football Giants. He's supposed to make an appearance at a hometown, a local New Jersey pizza joint, Coniglio's. He's gaining a lot of notoriety, not so much for being the current starting quarterback for the giants, but more so because he's just really Italian. Hilariously Italian.
Starting point is 00:25:21 Now, which shouldn't really be a reason to a reason to become famous, but here we are. This country likes to celebrate really Italian things, so Tommy DeVito falls into that category. Yeah, and if your name's Tommy DeVito, that's in the top 1% of Italian guy names. If it was Pauly DeVito, then we're really talking. Right. And if it's Danny DeVito, then it's it's just weird yeah because you're just people wait a minute just a really short actor right yeah like really short like extremely he doesn't even touch five does he's hilarious
Starting point is 00:25:55 though you like you like danny i think he's sub five yeah he's gotta be sub five kind of like my 40 um what's it called that's always sunny yeah you watch always sunny uh yeah i used to i would pop i wasn't a i wasn't like a p1 of it but i would pop into episodes he is a wild ass character great character in that show so tommy was originally scheduled to make an appearance and his appearance fee uh per his agent was ten thousand dollars and then he beat the packers and uh price of that brick went up right so then he said no um he told the people uh coniglio's it's actually gonna be 20k appearance fee and they're like dude fuck this guy but his his um agent did that right not exactly tommy yeah who knows how much say Tommy had? Right.
Starting point is 00:26:49 Well, it turns out like a couple nights ago, maybe last night, he just went and showed up for free. He had a guy there recording, probably his agent. He's back there making sodas. I guess they do homemade soda there at this particular pizza shop. And look, that was the right thing to do, right? It's a bad look it's a bad look if you are very clearly riding your 15 minutes i don't know how much tommy devito's got going down the road like i don't know if we're gonna be hearing much from him in a couple years um but you got to capitalize where you can but you don't you don't do that you don't do that to the hometown crowd. No. You can't do that. So, Coniglio's...
Starting point is 00:27:26 Sorry, that's not how you say it. Coniglio's. It's Coniglio's. No, look, there's an I between the G and the L. Did I just spell it wrong? No. Look in the article, which is from BroBible. Coniglio's.
Starting point is 00:27:42 Anyway, the owner, his name is Nino. I'm seeing it spelled two different ways in this particular BroBible. Shout out to Brandon, the article. You're right. So Nino Coniglio... We'll just go with Nino. Nino, which is another great Italian name, by the way. It's a great name.
Starting point is 00:27:57 It says that he believes DeVito realized the error of his ways. I think the moral of the story is be careful when you're doing... What you're doing with small independent businesses, he said. You know, try to be a man of the story is be careful when you're doing what you're doing with small independent businesses, he said. Try to be a man of the people. I agree. That's right. Try to make sure everybody's whole. Okay. That is such a mafia term. You got to make everybody whole. You got to make it right, Tommy. You got to make it right. You're a hero to all of us. A lot of these sports athletes are a hero to a lot of us, but at the end of the day, I think the number one rule is
Starting point is 00:28:24 do what you say, say what you do. That's just part of the code. That's built into that culture. Yeah. I watched the actual interview with that guy. He took the scenic route to get there. It was a very much guy who doesn't have a lot of experience being on camera making a statement. But did you see what Tommy allegedly, according to Wes Steinberg, the NFL and New York Giants insider, what he told the Giants team social media manager? No. He told the team's social media manager to, quote, quit it with all the Italian shit. I just want to play football before storming out of the room this of course is after uh they approached tommy with uh they wanted to do a bit
Starting point is 00:29:10 with them you know social media managers do bits with their athletes especially their big time quarterbacks yeah they wanted to do a top five sopranos moments video with tommy okay and he's like come on that's doing a lot i i do agree with him on that like that you're leaning weight That's doing a lot. I do agree with him on that, that you're leaning way— he's going to fight too close to the sun. Especially when there's a good portion of the Italian-American community who aren't real big fans of the portrayal of Italian-Americans on The Sopranos. Because despite—even though it is famously Tony Soprano winner, TSW,
Starting point is 00:29:41 Tony and the rest of the gang, they weren't the good guys. I'm going to say something right now that it's going to be so unbelievable, and it's going to piss you off. I was talking to someone yesterday. I won't say who this person is. It's irrelevant. I want to know who it is. It was a young lady. But that...
Starting point is 00:29:56 No, it's not what it sounds like. Was it Brooke? It's not what it sounds like. No, it wasn't Brooke. And she asked me, like, hey, what are you watching? Like, what shows are you watching right now? And I said just started fargo i'm really enjoying it so far and she said what's your all-time favorite show i said oh um said if i can pick a sitcom it'd probably be seinfeld but i'm probably gonna say breaking bad i said caveat though I have not seen Sopranos. And she said, what's that? There's no way. I said, Sopranos.
Starting point is 00:30:28 She was like, never heard of it. There's no way. This is a young lady in her 30s who has never heard of Sopranos. And she was not kidding. I said, well, it's widely regarded as like the best show of all time. Like literally the number one show on a lot of people's lists. Most people's top five. Yeah. She said, top five. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:45 She said, never heard of it. Okay. Without really backing yourself into a corner, what's the age here? Age-ish. Early 30s. Okay. If you said early 20s, I'd have another question. But then I would be like, okay, I can maybe see that.
Starting point is 00:31:04 Yeah. It's like I was speaking a different language to her. So she's not, did she know Breaking Bad? Yes. So she knows some elements of prestige TV. Yes. Breaking Bad was on what platform or channel? A&E or AMC.
Starting point is 00:31:20 Okay. AMC. So if it were HBO, I'd be like, how could could you still how could you not but so i'm not even i'm gonna assume she's not familiar with the wire i would assume that's a safe assumption if you don't know sopranos you probably don't know wire wire is more of a deep a deep cut in that genre of of television um not by much okay but yeah i was like i gotta tell dave what do you think maybe and i i don't know the extent of your um relationship with this young lady but do you think maybe she's trying to set up like a hey let's let's watch it i don't know is this a long play that is a long undertaking of like that's
Starting point is 00:31:57 like okay seven seasons right six six i don't know two six season? I've never seen it. No, that doesn't really make me mad. That's honestly shocking. Isn't it unbelievable? Yeah. Mm-hmm. Okay. Anyway.
Starting point is 00:32:13 Can we call her right now? I want to know what else she... What's your problem? Was she around for 9-11? Like, did she know that happened? Yeah. Yeah, she's in her 30s, man. Okay. From America.
Starting point is 00:32:27 I'm going to give Tommy a pass on the cut the italian shit even though he did famously lean all the way into it you know with this with his tutty celebration and when his agent showed up to the game the other night looking the way he did in the like italian undertaker in the i'm about to whack somebody outfit it really was but not only am i about to whack somebody but i'm also going to take a time machine back to like the early 40s to whack them yeah like he had a tommy gun under that coat that's what he looked like why is they why is the agent on the field i don't know you don't see that it fucking was jerry mcguire like they've turned it into a bit that was a thing there's no way that guy dressed like that before his client became a big name right
Starting point is 00:33:03 no i think he did actually i think people found like old photos and this is this is kind of him seriously i'm dead serious because i saw somebody posted like who are these people wondering on twitter like there's no way he's doing a bit now and they're like no actually this is kind of him wow which you have to respect but also yeah going murdered out on the field with your client. And like his third start as a professional. Then he made an appearance on Pardon My Take, I think. The agent's on Pardon My Take today.
Starting point is 00:33:34 He himself is becoming a big deal. I must listen. Just very Italian NFL this year. Who's the agent's agent? Good question. It's actually big-time Tommy. I guess he books his own deals. Who's a bigger Tommy, big-time Tommy or Tommy DeVito? It's actually big time time i guess he books his own deals who's a bigger tommy big time tommy or tommy devito still big time tommy diggities os for life famously on two big time tommy t-shirts yeah you do you don't wear them enough however alissa was uh
Starting point is 00:33:58 looking for trying to help me find a sweater for uh brett's christmas party and she was digging through my personal hamper, which I do have. And she pulled out the, the big time Tommy T that just, it's just his face with a cigar and just take it easy. And she's like, why did you,
Starting point is 00:34:13 she's like, why did you buy this? And why do you still have another one too? I'm like, well, you know, I have a, I have two of those.
Starting point is 00:34:20 I have two from this particular social media influencer. He's electric though. He is electric. He is very Italian. That guy. He puts Tommy to shame. No, yeah. If we get those two together, that's a problem.
Starting point is 00:34:33 That's a problem. There can only be one. Much like Highlander, but with Italians. Highlander? Don't worry about it. Is that a reference that's over my head? Most people say it. It's very stupid.
Starting point is 00:34:45 Okay. Okay. Do we think Tommy DeVito, do we think he is on an NFL roster? Not a practice squad. Is he on, what is it, the 50 man? I hate to say, I haven't really been paying much attention to how well he's been playing. Is he okay? Up and down.
Starting point is 00:35:00 He's won a couple, two or three games. He's not putting up numbers. Yeah. Is he on our roster in two years? You can be a,, two or three games. He's not putting up numbers. Yeah. Is he on our roster in two years? If you can be a, yeah, I think so. If you can hold down a starting, and I know that the starter has gotten hurt, but if you can hold down a starting spot for weeks on end
Starting point is 00:35:17 and not totally embarrass yourself, you will have a spot on a 53-man. I'm a silly bitch. It's the 53-man roster. What did you say? I said the 50-man because I wasn't sure if it was a 52 or 53, so I just rounded down. Well, it's 53, but they also do a plus-one quarterback spot.
Starting point is 00:35:32 Yeah. You can roster a third quarterback now without it counting against your 53-man. Yes. Because two quarterbacks, it's not always enough. We may have to stop the show. I got breaking news. What is it? Did you see that Texas Tech signed the number one deep snapper in the country?
Starting point is 00:35:50 Oh, I forgot to mention that off the top. It's a pretty big deal. It's huge. Like, this dude's snapping deep. Did you know that they were ranking deep snappers? No. Isn't that kind of like, we we're putting special teams together does anybody want a long snap has anyone ever done it before raise your hand and then like that's your long
Starting point is 00:36:10 snapper that's how i always pictured it going i had a buddy who's the center at uh in high school and then he thought he went to ut and he tried to he wanted to walk on and be the he knew he wasn't good enough or big enough that's a smart play he didn't make it like through day one really he was he's not big enough so if you can get through like the the workouts uh-huh and you just you just practice long snapping like that's all that you do you can find a spot like you could you can have like a 20-year career yeah and there are guys yeah there's a i think there's a long snapper who was in the who was like 47 i think when he retired because he was just good at it and you don't have to do much blocking because it's illegal like it's against the rules to like line up head on with the long snapper because you can't you know their heads down and all that
Starting point is 00:36:52 shit you rarely hear about the long snapper getting smoked getting hurt that doesn't happen no it's a great spot anyway if you want to find see the number one long snapper in the country go to work and you get watched texas tech Yeah, just go out around Lubbock Way, just north of Post Town. I want to see the list of the top long snappers now. About northbound 84, huh? Wait, I'm going to try and find a list of them because there's no way that it actually exists.
Starting point is 00:37:16 Well, you're doing that. That's what's funny to me. I want you to answer a question. Where do you think this company would be if it wasn't for our good friends at Shopify? Honestly, I don't know. I don't know. Like, would we be sitting here right now talking about deep snappers?
Starting point is 00:37:31 Maybe not. I don't think so. Maybe not. Shopify is, it's amazing. I use Shopify, and I say that because I am, I'm not known for my tech savviness. No, that's not your bit. Mine neither, honestly. But it's very user-friendly. I'm in it all the time. Itiness. No, that's not your bit. Mine neither, honestly.
Starting point is 00:37:46 But it's very user-friendly. I'm in it all the time. It's so easy to use. I love it. Will's been using it forever. Will could speak on it probably just better than I can. He's not here, unfortunately. Shopify is the global commerce platform that helps you sell at every stage of your business.

Starting point is 00:39:28 Shopify.com slash circling. Did you find the grayed out? I pulled up the rivals list of, they rank all positions. Sure. Unfortunately, they don't rank just long snappers has there ever been a five-star long snapper no no could you just get like a to save the roster spot could you get a guy who's otherwise usable uh in another position and just have him become like a guy who's let's say you got a linebacker yeah Yeah. Also an expert.
Starting point is 00:40:05 That's what happens. Or he's just a walk-on. No one is ever going to be on scholarship just to long snap. That's just not a thing. It's a waste of a scally. Yeah. You only have 85. Sure.
Starting point is 00:40:15 College football. And you got to use them wisely. And you're not going to use one on a long snapper because you can teach anyone to do it. Has a long snapper ever got the NIL bag? I can't imagine so. Come. But it's good work if you can get it. Great work. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:33 This, look, I know we threw out that there might be a Coffee Friday this week. Okay. Maybe. That will live on YouTube. But for purposes of podcast, which is what this here show is, this is the last podcast, free podcast of 2023.
Starting point is 00:40:53 I think we need to do a little bit of a year in review, highs and lows. And I think we need to make some knee-jerk 2024 resolutions. I like it. It's been a pretty. It's been a pretty... It's been a big year for Washed. We've had... Hell, Will and I both have
Starting point is 00:41:12 welcomed two boys into the world. Charlie and Sammy. We can skip over the things that happened in my world. It's been a shit year for me, but that's okay. New year's about to start. That's what we're focused on right now.
Starting point is 00:41:31 New year, new you. That's right. Give me some highs from the chivalry 2023. Ooh. Wash media highs. Wash media highs. Skelly made an appearance on spooky season. I think that was huge.
Starting point is 00:41:42 People like Skelly. I think we hit a nice little stride uh on the washed instagram oh i would say so it has absolutely um come alive gained some followers the most important part is the content has been really strong straight up slinging ropes on that thing slinging ropes on the on the washed ig page which is great to see um will's not here but i'll speak for Sunday Scaries. Sunday Scaries has had just an unbelievable year. Slinging ropes over there. Gained so many followers, a lot of sponsorship momentum as well.
Starting point is 00:42:17 Huge over on that side. We went to F1. We landed a vehicle sponsorship. We didn't just go to the F1 race We landed a vehicle sponsorship. We didn't just go to the F1 race at the Circuit of Americas. We got the best access we will ever get, and now if we don't get that access, we can never go to an F1 event again. The kind of access that just spoils you moving forward. Like my dumbass borderline hungover with a Lucy in my mouth in the garage.
Starting point is 00:42:44 We got a garage tour. And I'm just sitting there making eye contact with these Italian dudes that are working on cars, and they're just looking at me like, what are you doing here? You're a piece of shit. I've got the headphones on. Yeah, we got Alpha. God, that was a blast. We landed an Alpha Romeo sponsorship, which is unprecedented for us to do anything in the car space.
Starting point is 00:43:01 So that's huge. I think going forward, we can only do foreign car sponsorships. Well, I only push foreign whips. Yeah. I pulled up in that Mino speak English. Right. Actually, it's a Jeep Cherokee. Yeah, that's true.
Starting point is 00:43:14 It's not foreign, I guess. What else went on in the watch media world this year? I don't know. Like other things. What? No, nothing. I don't know like other things what no nothing i don't know i was trying to brett went to vegas and then la yeah brett drove an alfa romeo around california yeah out around california way that's right uh i'm more excited about 2024 for a variety of reasons i've got a resolution for 2024. Okay. I live about 90 seconds from my son's school. My son will be three next month.
Starting point is 00:44:01 I wake him up around, I try to wake him up between 7 and 7.15. He doesn't really like it when Dad gets him up. He's a mama's boy at this point. Okay. To the point to where he will kind of tell me, like, get out, where's Mom? And I try not to take it personally. I'm like, okay, this is just part of it.
Starting point is 00:44:18 I get it. I miss his mommy sometimes too. But you're supposed to get to school like around it's like a thing you don't have to get him there it's not like there's a school bell and it's like class starts at eight but we're frequently the last people to get him to school yeah after eight i'm trying to get him there i want him to get him there on time is it like there's a drop-off window yeah but it's like drop-off window i think it's like 7 30 to like to 9 8 30 so it's not like we're doing we're violating a rule but it's very noticeable that like when i bring him in five or 10 minutes after you know the teacher his teacher confusingly named miss alissa she's great um she's sitting down reading the class something and and Rhodes and I walk in.
Starting point is 00:45:05 Of course, Rhodes, I said he's a mama's boy. He will occasionally become a daddy's boy. And, like, he gets very clingy, and he doesn't want to just – I'm expecting, like, hey, bud, go see your buds. Go see the gang. He doesn't do that. So a lot of times it kind of stops down class. So I'm trying to – I want to get him there on time earlier.
Starting point is 00:45:25 I don't know if that's going to be feasible with him and his sleep schedule, but I'm going to try my best. So that's one resolution. Okay. That's a good one. That's kind of a touching one. I like that. We won't put that on a graphic or anything because I just don't know how that would look.
Starting point is 00:45:39 Yeah. We'd have to bullet point that out, but yeah. I think it's become obvious to like the other parents at my son's school that and even the teacher probably that i have kind of an untraditional job because i can i can kind of step away during weird hours and go see him or uh i show up wearing like a hoodie and jeans to drop off which is like right before work so it's like i don't know i don't feel weird about it it's just you know because just because you're a little bit late, they probably think like, oh, he's not had to be
Starting point is 00:46:09 at the accounting firm at 8 o'clock. You know what's crazy about that? I felt that way too. I actually think about that when I'm getting dressed in the morning, like, oh, I'm going to wear joggers and a hoodie again. But when I drop them off, it's a good mix of dads and moms dropping off and like most of the moms are there's there's like one one dad and one mom who are wearing clothes like they're going to like a firm yeah but then the rest everybody else like the moms
Starting point is 00:46:38 are wearing yoga pants like they're going to go straight to the gym yeah and there's a lot of dads who are dressed down too yeah i think austin is just a place where you really don't have to feel. You're right. You're right. You know what I mean? Yeah. Also, they probably just know you because you're fucking darn, bro. Somebody here?
Starting point is 00:46:51 That's true too. No, I don't think so. I told Ross if Ross wanted to show up and interrupt the pod, he could. Okay. That'd be cool. He probably won't. He's not here. I'll throw out a resolution for WASH Media, which I think is an extremely obvious one
Starting point is 00:47:04 and one that we are going to follow through on, is an out-of-town meetup. We've been talking about it this year, which is kind of a weird year for a few reasons, I think. We never got around to planning something, but we are going to do it. And we have, I think we even mentioned this on a recent episode, we have a pretty creative way on how we're going to choose the city, and also there is a charitable aspect to it, which is going to be pretty cool, I think. So I have four out-of-town cities that I would like to get in a bidding war for charity purposes.
Starting point is 00:47:38 Okay. Can I name them? I would love for you to. Atlanta. ATL. Nashville. Love it. New York City. Chicago. I would love for you to Atlanta, ATL, Nashville, love it.
Starting point is 00:47:49 New York city, Chicago. I have been to, uh, I've been to all those cities. I've been to two of the four, the two, uh, I guess Chicago is the North Chicago, New York city. The two drove through Atlanta. I have not, it's not fair to say I've been there. I drove through it. I've only been to New York city a couple of times, maybe once. Um, I think those are for sure. Yeah, I mean, the qualifications you have to have to make the short list is you have to be in our market. You have to be one of the cities listed on our top market cities. You don't have to be top five.
Starting point is 00:48:19 No, because three of the top five are in Texas, and we'd like to get out of Texas. We have to know that if we show up to your city, there's be a crowd there yeah are you gonna put on yeah we can't we can't go to like amarillo because for the right price might be three people who show up okay but what if what if there's like two backers in amarillo and they just they just donate like a hundred grand to morning yeah well we can make it there again i just high in the texas sky i think that um we want we want we want people to show out okay can we do that we'll do we'll make sure this one is like that but can we do one down the road where like some obscure place some backer like ponies up charity money and we just go and we just do like
Starting point is 00:49:04 a random show with them, and it's like, yeah, we're in Des Moines. Yeah, we'll play golf with you or something. Yeah. Instead of doing eat-up, we'll pick your favorite restaurant, we'll go get some food. Sure. Okay, you said Chicago, Nashville, New York, and Atlanta.
Starting point is 00:49:19 Yes, I believe those four are in our top ten. Those four are absolutely in play. Okay, I want more West Coast love. I wish they showed up more for us. Yeah, it would be really cool if we had a number of backers who lived in San Diego. Denver's going to be on that list. Oh, Denver's a good one.
Starting point is 00:49:38 We never actually did a full-on meetup there. We did like a brief, right before the Breckenridge thing. It'd be a real shame if nola showed up for us too oh god we really want to yeah man that might get a little a little much you know what go bulldog bar and nola i'm all about it or like j-hole or something you know something just really dope spot new york scottsdale, Scottsdale. I would definitely be in for New York city is intimidating. Cause I don't,
Starting point is 00:50:06 I just, is there like a bar scene where it wouldn't be awkward doing a meetup like this? I don't know. Cause everything I think when I think I've never been in New York city as an adult. So I think everything is like, are we going to,
Starting point is 00:50:19 it's intimidating. It's, is it just going to be a bunch of like Patrick patrick bateman's wearing uh making fun of top coats and suits like look what the fuck are these guys doing yeah um trying to think of other places i mean we'll get the list out any more resis uh let me think putting you on the spot. What's a personal resi? I haven't really put much thought into it. Trying to gain some weight? I could stand to gain a couple of pounds. Are you like 165 now?
Starting point is 00:50:55 No, I'm 178. Okay. 178. Yeah, I've lost about 15 pounds this year. Not willingly, however. Yeah, I've lost about 15 pounds this year. Not willingly, however. Yeah. Diarrhea. I had a stomach bug last week.
Starting point is 00:51:14 Okay. Yeah. I don't know. It's the great equalizer. You need more personal ones? Yeah, I need to get my shoulder looked at. Okay. I don't want to go.
Starting point is 00:51:25 My dad just had the bad rotator cuff surgery like this last year and like he's good now playing golf again and everything i don't think i need that i'm praying to god i don't need surgery and i'm going to not get surgery unless like they tell me like no you'll you absolutely like your arms gonna fall off but i have this i have this thing back here, and I've had it before, and it's just kind of gone away. But this one's lingering. Take a look at it. I know.
Starting point is 00:51:51 I'm hoping I can just get a little shot. That'd be sick. It would be. You ever had the shot, the cortisol shot? No. I kind of want one, though. I might just fake a shoulder injury and go with you. Let's do it.
Starting point is 00:51:59 Let's both fake, see if we can get a discount. Yeah, it'd be great. Maybe I'll go down to Panama, get some STEMIs. There you go. I want to take Parks, just the two of us on a vacation together my dad took me to a couple as a kid just me and him and they're memorable to me foreign or domestic domestic yeah something like lego land oh fuck Where's that? California, out California way. Whereabouts?
Starting point is 00:52:28 I want to say San Diego area. Oh, yeah. So we could do like a day in La Jolla and then go there. I think it's near there. I'm curious. Legoland's got to be Southern Cal. I want to get parts more into sports. I want to force it on them, everybody. Don't come at me.
Starting point is 00:52:47 I want to be more into sports. Yeah, it's out San Diego way. Okay. Just north of San Diego. I have not brought my son to the zoo yet. I know there's an Austin zoo.
Starting point is 00:53:04 People, from what I understand, it's okay. But the Fort Worth Zoo, the Dallas Zoo, they're great zoos. Houston Zoo, I don't really know anything about.
Starting point is 00:53:14 I'm sure it's fine. But I want to bring him, I want to go do like a zoo day because I think he would love it. I'm wondering like, should I just wait until, it's not like that's like a big trip, right? he would love it i'm wondering like should i just wait until
Starting point is 00:53:25 it's not like that's like a big trip right but i'm like okay well is that going to be do i need to wait till his little brother is older i don't think so it's just the zoo right yeah i'm gonna i'm gonna i'm gonna do a zoo trip i'm gonna do a full tonio's got a good one do they okay yeah i might do that maybe we'll go to sea world sit in the splash zone there you go those first couple rows dude you're getting splashed. Yeah, that's the thing about it. You're getting sad well water splashed all over you. Yeah, it's kind of sad.
Starting point is 00:53:50 Yeah, then you have to explain it to them. Probably a little stinky. We'll probably just go to Fort Worth Zoo. Yeah. I believe they have the, is that the one, one of them has a monorail. That was a big deal when I was a little kid. They built the monorail. There you go.
Starting point is 00:53:59 That's one rail. There you go. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Any other WOS Media ones? No, maybe if, when we do a coffee friday and hopefully will's uh recovered from his back blowing out of plasty um we can we can do some more extensive ones we might be we might be welcoming a new employee at some point
Starting point is 00:54:18 oh breaking news no there's nothing breaking about i i think it it's probably probably time to add someone to the to the fam y'all just hired somebody while i was out on paternity leave yeah it's like yeah you know like when alissa alissa i think a lot of companies do this when like alissa's on maternity leave her company like locks her out of everything she can't even get like her email or anything really yeah that's kind of nice. It is, but like... It would give me anxiety probably. When your accountant hits you up, like, hey, do you have a pay stub? I'm doing some stuff for next year.
Starting point is 00:54:53 I can't really get into my... I got to go through HR. You can't submit a request for it? I think she can, but I think it's just kind of a pain in the ass. Yeah. Huh. Okay. I'm sure some other will come to mind right after we finish recording this we'll do some friday yeah okay find our oh there it is you know what that means. Seamless transition into this weekend in fun.
Starting point is 00:55:29 Presented by the aforementioned Alpha Romeo. We're big fans of the all-new Tonale. It's fantastic. We got to drive on around for a week. You know that. You saw the content. It's fun to drive. You got the Alpha performance.
Starting point is 00:55:42 It's loaded with tech. You love the tech. The tech. Again, tech savviness, it's not my strong suit. I got some stuff to figure out in there still. But there's so much going on. You can switch driving modes. You can go from full electric to gas. That large touchscreen.
Starting point is 00:55:56 Oh, my God. It's the Italian craftsmanship. The exterior, the Italian exterior and interior. It's so nice. You got the plug-in hybrid technology. Freedom to choose between gas or electric, 32 miles all electric, 360 miles total range. Fantastic.
Starting point is 00:56:11 Learn more about the Alfa Romeo Tonale at alfaromeousa.com. Dylan, let's pretend we're not doing Coffee Friday. Okay. So this is going to include next week we are off next week yes which includes christmas eve and christmas yes this this holiday and fun basically is what we're doing sure okay um i don't have a lot going on and that really kind of has me excited i will have my son and my partner for Christmas, which is a thrill for me.
Starting point is 00:56:47 Christmas is by far my favorite holiday. I love it very much. I have some little traditions that I do with parks. So we will head to my dad's house in South Austin where my sister and brother-in-law and my two little nieces will be there doing a big Christmas dinner. I'm making my vintage eggnog from
Starting point is 00:57:06 scratch which is a crowd pleaser doing peanut butter cookies the whole thing man but yeah i'll be around i'm not going anywhere just gonna hang gonna lay low i'm gonna go see my my mom out at the ranch too a couple days after christmas that'll be nice. But yeah, man, just kind of be chilling. Be chilling. It'll be good. I got a little bit more shopping to do. Yeah, I think tomorrow I've got to do some finishing touches on the deal. This is an interesting year for us because I say we're hosting.
Starting point is 00:57:39 We're not really hosting. We're doing Christmas with just us in our home. So what that means is the gifts are one thing it's the stocking stuffers i've never had to uh i've never had to do stockings because staying in my parents house they take care of the stocking stuff so i'm trying to find i'm trying to like stuff stockings right now there was a a toy store that was right next to Cheddar's, South Austin. And they had, I think it was a one-stop shop for any kind of stocking thing. You know that, by the Chewy's over there? It's right by my house.
Starting point is 00:58:14 Yeah, I know. That's what I'm telling you. They closed down last year. I pulled up ready to buy like all the little trinkets and candies and stuff. And they were like, yeah, we're out of business. So that's unfortunate. I think Amazon took them down. down you know one of those situations dude I wish that Cheddar's was a Chili's so bad I don't I don't hate a Cheddar's I used to do both as a as a child but I've just
Starting point is 00:58:36 I've Chili's is my go-to they just have better marketing I gotta I might go to Target right between the episodes today you You're fucking bad. I know. I've got to get some stuff. I've got to get wrapping paper, too. Will has some. We've got some wrapping paper up here if you need it. I don't want to clean them out, though.
Starting point is 00:58:52 That's fair. I need to wrap all of my presents. Anyway, that's what I got. Not a whole lot. Yeah, like I said, we're doing Christmas because we have a two-week-old at home. So we're going to christmas uh just us um my family is gonna come down a day or two after christmas um yeah i'm a little it's just this is kind of weird much like thanksgiving which we hosted this will be the first christmas
Starting point is 00:59:20 that i can remember that i wasn't in my parents house you know so like i'm granted i'm like 39 but still enjoy waking up in my childhood bed and yeah you know still get a christmas buzz in the morning and i'll have a different buzz this will be it'll be fun to watch the roads man he's gonna be three next month and um he you know he could open ish presents last year this year he's like he fucking knows he's asking for specific items these next few years are like prime prime he saw santa not so much this year but like three to three to six that's like yeah you know that's prime yeah you're gonna love it he met santa he sat on santa's lap told him what he wanted he had his big chance i think he asked for like a power wheel a playstation 5 no he asked
Starting point is 01:00:12 for chocolate and candy canes love that's all here i can't just get him chocolate and candy canes yeah but i think he would be satisfied if that's all I got him. Sure. Simple man. He loves candy canes, which I didn't think anybody actually liked them. It's a cool visual. The idea of a candy cane is cool. But actually eating them, come on. I like a candy cane. You fuck with a candy cane? Yeah, fuck with it.
Starting point is 01:00:37 He fucks with candy canes. Yeah. It's going to be great. I've got a holiday tradition that my dad used to do when we were little that I'm going to run back. Going to go with Pavarotti, Luciano Pavarotti. Fuck yeah. Singing Christmas songs. Dude, that's sick.
Starting point is 01:00:56 Does that. I can remember going to bed. I don't think he had it on vinyl, but he did have the CD. We'd go to bed, and he'd have it on really loud so you just fall asleep to to that it was awesome they had like the the boys choir in the background i might i might try that this year we'll see i don't know how that works with a with a newborn i think i'm gonna try to spin that dude it's phenomenal sounds awesome yeah also yeah you can find it very easily um but, but that's it, man.
Starting point is 01:01:26 So this weekend, probably laying low. Christmas Eve is Sunday, right? I don't know what we're doing for food. Like, I think we might just grill steaks. We're doing a roast.
Starting point is 01:01:38 Oh man. I wanted to do a roast, but Alyssa seems to think it's going to be a little too daunting with the two kids. I'm doing deviled eggs, my eggnog, and peanut butter cookies. That sounds devil. Those are my contributions. That's good. That's good. I've never made deviled eggs before, but I'm going to crush it. I know I am.
Starting point is 01:01:56 Deviled eggs, in my estimation, are underrated. Oh, I love them. I've always enjoyed them. I absolutely love them. Maybe I didn't properly rate them until I was older, because I never ate them as a kid or anything. Yeah. They're gas. They are gas.
Starting point is 01:02:07 All right. Fun show. We may, we will probably very likely see you on YouTube Friday for a little coffee Friday. Hopefully Willie's feeling better. Yep. We'll have the whole gang together. If not, we'll get somebody else in here and have fun.
Starting point is 01:02:22 Maybe we'll get James on. That'd be nice. That would be nice. All right. All right. Bye. We'll see you then. Bye.
