Starting point is 00:00:04 All Ranchos and not all ranches. All right. We're back Monday morning, circling back podcast. Hello there. My name is Dave. Welcome to the show to everyone he found us through TV Guide. Welcome. You're going to enjoy yourself.
Starting point is 00:00:30 Randy Trebaki producing. Hi, Dave. I'm just happy to be here after my longhorns got a big win. Big old win. I guess. I guess. Dillon's leaving the show. Yeah, I'm really happy for your Longhorns, man.
Starting point is 00:00:50 Oh, I see what he's doing. I see what he's doing. I thought he might be doing this. All right. Yeah. He took, he's taking down your pants milk shirt to put up. It's not just mine. Oh, well, you worked for the company.
Starting point is 00:01:03 We sold a few. You can still buy it on washedoutmedia.shop or washedmedia.com. That is true. All right. I got the autographed naming jersey. He's he hanging now, courtesy of co-host, noted guy, Dylan Schivory. Sorry. That's my quarterback, man.
Starting point is 00:01:21 It's time to put them back up. Quarterback, if you were number one, Texas Longhorns. Man, number one team in the nation, the best team in the nation. I'm not ready to say they are the best team in the nation, but they certainly have earned the right to be called that right now. For sure. Anyway, I'm extremely happy to be here. Thanks for having me, guys.
Starting point is 00:01:43 We got New Brett in the building. The name thing is already like come to a head out there. It's, I say today in the bullpen, I said Brett and I was talking to old Brett. And I, Brett sits across from me and New Brett sits right next to me. So that's going to be an issue. Yeah, you're in hell. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Yeah. Yeah. New Brett is, it's, it gets the job done, but it's not a sexy nickname at all, you know? No, it's terrible. Yeah. Because what if like Old Brett has like head, phones on and all he can hear he doesn't hear the new part he just hears the breath and he's up oh so it doesn't you know what I'm saying yeah no we got I don't know I'm still going with the garden for now
Starting point is 00:02:22 but I understand that could be subject to change in fact it is subject we also have a AC two guys working on the AC so he's getting the full watch media experience day one which is great yeah he is learn some things about him already I'm excited for today's show like what like he's not a coffee Also a Celsius guy like other Brett. Yeah, that's a problem for old Brett, mainly because he was hopelessly addicted to Celsius. Yeah, he cracked a bloom energy already. Which I appreciate it. Everybody knows we like Bloom quite a bit.
Starting point is 00:02:57 Yeah. Good vibes so far on the kid. I know he's watching right now. I can't say too much bad about him. I don't care for him. Okay. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:07 Randy, I love the jersey, buddy. Thank you. Thank you. It's definitely authentic. If you want to see the authentic University of Texas baseball jersey that Randall Trimbecky is wearing, you could go follow on Spotify or YouTube. You can watch it live on YouTube, watch it after the fact on YouTube or on Spotify. We just want you to watch. It's a visual show.
Starting point is 00:03:28 Thanks for the coffee, dog. I put on the company card. Absolutely hitting. I did go get it. You did make the walk. Little tidbit of information if you're going to make that walk. They're doing some serious excavation right over there. So you have to walk
Starting point is 00:03:43 They have like some cones You have to walk basically on the mar Which is always dicey Oh my God Yeah They help you get through But like with the amount of kids Who text and drive these days
Starting point is 00:03:57 You can never be too safe There's too much of that going on Well I'm glad you made it back in one piece my friend Yeah Thanks man It's a podcast week as you know That means we got big things on Patreon Recording early
Starting point is 00:04:10 We're gonna still drop it tomorrow. Yes. But we've got a circling back on touching base and we're going to have a special guest and you got it? It's loud because the ice crashes back down. I understand. I push the mic away. It's okay. Our special guest is new Brett. He's going to be on. He's going to listen to some old pod with us. I lean away from the microphone to breathe. Do you really? That was a chocolate rain, Tazone Day reference, Dave. That went over my head. I thought I was the guy who knew the Tazon. Yeah, I moved away. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:46 But yeah, we got some, we got some good ones here. I got, let me pull this back up. I just headed up. What are the two that we're going to do? I clicked them on Friday, so I forgot. Oh, the most annoying office phrases, which is from the very last episode of touching base. Of, yeah, of touching base. Really?
Starting point is 00:05:05 Yeah. I decided to pull that one because we've done a segment from that because I think Chilli or Soup was also that episode, but we've never done the kind of like the origins of this. A lot happened that episode because we also talked about what we would name the podcast if it wasn't touching bits. That's part of this, yeah, the most, because that's what led this into. It was like a poll of one of the most annoying office phrases and that's what led into the whole email chain. What a finale, which we didn't know at the time was a finale. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:05:32 Mm-hmm. And then also the fajita bandit, which I promised, I think, two months ago, we're going to go back to that story. Love that. Why can't I recall what that is? The guy that was like- A bunch of fajita meat. Ah, yeah. Working for like a school district or a prison or something?
Starting point is 00:05:48 I think so. Something. Fantastic. Check out our Patreon. Give us a shot to earn your business. It's all we ask is for a shot. You can try it free for a week. Go check it out.
Starting point is 00:05:58 And have the fan week stuff been coming in yet? I've got a couple. Dave at Washmedia.com. Email Dave at Washmedia.com. Tell me about Fanweek, Randall. We are doing stories of you as a fan. sporting event doesn't have to be football but football season but any any stories from uh from a game professional amateur maybe even a high school we started yeah we started talking about like
Starting point is 00:06:23 we got asked on voicemails what's the worst will be the worst uh college to go visit as a as a opposing fan which you know what i'm saying like which fan base yeah and so we're like oh fan week would be fun so we can do that fan week david wash me dot com or or you can drop me a voicemail at 877-352-4-677. Give me a good story, house. All right. Before we jump into it, let me do a little small biz September.
Starting point is 00:06:54 Ooh, still September, right? Hey, Brett. You can email Brett at washmedia.com. This is from noted backer Ryan. Not sure if there's any room left for SBS spots this year, but I wanted to throw my family's business out there just in case. October marks Kingsgate Logistics, 40th anniversary, Dylan. Kingsgate Logistics, which makes this milestone especially meaningful for our family.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Kingsgate was founded in 1986 by my grandparents and had grown, has grown, from a small Cincinnati area freight brokerage into a full-service nationwide logistics partner. You understand what that means? Yeah, for sure. We specialize in moving food and beverage, retail and manufacturing freight, bringing 40 years of experience, honesty and integrity to every shipment. Excuse me. While we've grown over the last four decades, we've never lost sight of.
Starting point is 00:07:45 of the values my grandparents built the company on such as, like such as, relationships, technology, and doing things the right way. I like all those things. Today, the second and third generation of our family, myself included, are still part of the business. And in an exciting new chapter, we are proudly, we are proudly employee owned through an ESOP, meaning the incredible people who help move our business forward every day have stake in its future too. I'm hungly. You can find us at kingsgate logistics.com
Starting point is 00:08:18 and, as we like to say, start shipping confidently with Kingsgate. Let me give you a better one. Ready? Start shipping confidently with Kingsgate. I don't like the face you made. What? What? Thanks.
Starting point is 00:08:34 Shout out to those fine people. Do your impression of Becker Ryan. Hey, guys. Got a... Is it, what is it, Ryan Ryan? I think it's the lady. Oh. I know because she spells her name with an eye.
Starting point is 00:08:50 Yeah. She doesn't, she has to. Yeah, it's Colin Kingsgate. She doesn't talk like that at all, actually. That's how your wife talks when she's like, uh, movie splining something. She's talking about all the scenes filmed in Santa Clarita. So obnoxious. I didn't realize she practiced.
Starting point is 00:09:09 I don't practice Santa Clarita. That's what you're going with, right? Is she on the doctor? diet. The Santa Clarita diet. We did watch that show. It was fine. Was that filmed in Santa Clarita? I think so. It's not a true story, though. There are no zombies, as far as I'm aware, in Santa Corita, California. Oh, yeah, man. Just giving some time with Newsom. Right. The whole state's going to be zombies. What he's doing to that state. Right. Yeah. You understand. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:45 Do you understand the reference I'm making? Yeah, I do. Straight out of the Walking Dead. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. That's a different accent. Mm-hmm. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:56 Yeah, we had zombies in high school. We just do it. They were pretty chill. Let's recap this weekend and fun presented by our good friends at Pancho Outdoors. Hey, it's our money, Micah. It's time for this weekend. Bro, let's go out this weekend. There's a crazy event happening.
Starting point is 00:10:12 I like to turn up. Brod, there's a crazy event happening. We had the party and it was lit. I got yelled out by a prostitute. Let's just go have fun and they'd go a little. Let's go. This weekend in Fawn, presented by Pancho Outdoors. Man, my kids' T-ball season is back in full swing.
Starting point is 00:10:29 And what does that mean? Well, it means I'm wearing poncho to the Little League fields because they're my outdoor shirts. Not, okay, so I wore to the game, I wore the light blue lightweight hoodie. Okay. Because it has the sun protection and it's lightweight, even though it's 100 degrees. It's very breathable and I feel great in it.
Starting point is 00:10:49 It thrives in hot weather. Thrives in hot weather. They have the original shirt. It's the button down one. I have the short sleeve one, a tan one. It's kind of got a safari vibe. It's got the regular buttons. But then they also do the Pearl Snap version.
Starting point is 00:11:01 That's the westerns. And, buddy, let me tell you something. That's probably my favorite shirt. I'm just waiting for that first front to move in so I can start wearing it. Even though it is pretty lightweight and comfortable. You can wear it whenever, dude. But it's giving fall. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:13 These are just fantastic shirts. We love them so much. The Marfa, the light-washed denim one, probably my fave. Yeah, don't sleep on the rest of the gear. The, you got, we both have the T-shirts. We love the T-shirts. Their hats are dope, too. Gear for summer, fall, winter, spring.
Starting point is 00:11:29 That means year-round. Just gear up for life is what I'm trying to tell you. With poncho. Go to poncho outdoors.com slash steen. Enter your email and get $10 off and free shipping on your first order. that's P-O-N-C-H-O-Outdoors.com slash steam. Head there, drop in your email and get $10 off in free shipping. Once you try one, you'll get while we have a closet full.
Starting point is 00:11:49 Poncho outdoors.com slash steam. Check them out. They're awesome. Dylan, you get a big weekend. Big weekend. Started Friday, went to an event put on by Sunday Scaries. Our friend Will DeFries and Sally put that on. And Nike went to a, Randy was there.
Starting point is 00:12:07 Dave couldn't make it, unfortunately. went to an art gallery near downtown Austin. And it was sick, man. We got to design our Nike hoodies with some patches designed by local artist Will Bryant. And Will had a hand in that. And of course, Barrett. Awesome event. Look great, man.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Those sweatshers look really cool. Some UT royalty was there. Who? Tegan Kavanaugh. Okay. Two-time College World Series MVP, two-time non-exualsuitary. two-time Natty winner she was there in the shortstop for Texas
Starting point is 00:12:41 baseball on the baseball side Adrian Rodriguez did you get to meet them? Yeah, how did that go? It went well. I talked to him. A lot of people were coming up to her. I just, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:55 she's kind of intimidating. Why? She's two-time College of World Series MVP. Tall gal. Maybe even like a maybe even like a hair taller than me. Um, that's cool.
Starting point is 00:13:09 It was awesome. I didn't know y'all, dang, that's good. Yeah, she was there, hung out the whole time. It was a cool event. So thank you, Will and retail therapy for that.
Starting point is 00:13:17 That was one that I was, uh, pretty bummed to miss. Yeah. I was gonna be honest, man. I was one of the lucky ones that got to actually leave with my, with my hoodie because it was a long, they had some work to do.
Starting point is 00:13:27 They were like, I don't know how many people turned in their hoodie with patches, but they had to sew a good, a good number of them, but I was lucky enough to walk away with mine. What did Tikins? hoodie look like i didn't know i didn't look i don't know probably cooler than mine she's gen z right if i'm being honest yeah swag and then and went uh down around san antonio way with the family we stayed at
Starting point is 00:13:49 the hyatt regency hill country if you live within driving distance of this place and you have little ones i cannot recommend it enough it is a badass place it's beautiful beautiful piece of property they have tons of stuff for kids to do there's a lazy river they cut out like through the trees there that's awesome. It's a big lagoon. You can do paddleboarding. The go to the surfing thing, which if you want to see what that looks like, you can go to my Instagram. Dude, I see Shivery and check it out. I remember doing one of those as a kid at Schlitterbond. Yeah, that's the last time I did it with Slitterbond. And I got up, I did all right. Parks was better. Parks was a natural at it, by the way. He kind of killed it. Does he wakeboard? Does he know how to get it? He's done some of that stuff,
Starting point is 00:14:34 right he's never he's never wakeboarded dang he looked like he knew what he's doing his his mom and stepdad they have a boat and they try to get him to do the wake surfing thing but he's yeah been too scared to try it i mean but dude he's he's got it down he was really good at it by the way it falls it hurts when you fall as a grown man like fell really hard on my shoulder my neck my head kind of snap back that's got it's a big head you know a lot of force is that what i felt maybe i saw It hurts. Ground was shaking a little bit. Anyway, the place is awesome.
Starting point is 00:15:08 They had a really cool, it's called Charlie's Long Bar, really cool, like sports bar type of place with shuffleboard and ping pong tables. Is that where you watch the big games? Probably 30 big TVs in there. That's where I watched the game for the first half. And the vibes were kind of low, and my nieces were tired, so they went up to bed, and Parks ended up getting sick. And so I watched the second half of the game in my hotel room with the sleeping parks next to me and a dozing off Chelsea on the other side.
Starting point is 00:15:42 And so I didn't expect much in the second half. And so when Texas started to get momentum and get back in the game, I had to celebrate silently, which was really tough to do. But I can't recommend this place enough. Great spot. And that's pretty much it. E-calling in the chat comments always concerning when an old man falls. Yeah. You know what?
Starting point is 00:16:08 Dude, falling as an almost 43-year-old, it feels differently than falling as an 18-year-old. That's true. I swear to God, I fucking fell this morning in my house. Did you? Sammy, I was going over to Sam because I was there just with Sammy. He was over on the couch, like drinking his protein shake or whatever. I'm wearing socks. We have wood floors.
Starting point is 00:16:28 I go. I got my hand on like the kitchen island. deal. I turn and like I feel my right foot start to slide out. I reach for the counter and I come up short and I just fucking fell on my side. Oh my God. I was like it didn't it scared me more than it like hurt. It didn't really hurt that bad but I was also mad. I didn't know who to be mad at. I was like, why am I slipping on my floor? I'm always yelling at roads to quit running around in his socks or in his pajamas. Parks has socks on 100. percent of the time he sleeps in him he gets home and he just pops his shoes off and he's always in socks
Starting point is 00:17:06 it's crazy yeah i fell and i was just like i was like worried yeah there's like a second where you're like it's not the same as fall on no fuck no that's my weekend it was excellent all the way around randall my weekend sorry with friday i went to a little event uh by retail therapy i did not have my sweatshirt yet but i think it's going to be pretty cool dylan was compliment complimenting mine or actually he was talking shit that he complimented he spent much more time on his than i didn't mind i was will told me like if you want to walk away with it that day get in early so i just threw some patches down and show some embroidery and turned it in who did the out of office patch or whatever the stitching i'm stitching maybe barrett i'm not sure no um someone in the
Starting point is 00:17:50 watch media universe i can't remember who okay so i went to that waiting very excited to get that back uh friday kind of kept the chill we uh We just we got Ike sandwiches, which is my favorite sandwich in town. And then watch Leo, which is the Adam Sandler 3D animated movie on Netflix. Pretty good. It hits you as a human a little bit. And it's funny. I would recommend maybe watching it with the kids.
Starting point is 00:18:18 I think they would enjoy it. I love it when it hits like a human. Yeah. It hits you in the human feels. No, in the heart. It reached out and touched my freaking heart. Dude, it'll hit you right in the feels. I like being hit.
Starting point is 00:18:31 Right in the fields. Put that in your headline. And Saturday, we went out to Hill Country Galleria. There was a, the Pecan Street Festival was going on, which is just a bunch of vendors, arts, people doing music, food. So we got some, got some arts and crafts, got three cool little prints, one of P. Terry's, one of Terry Blacks and one of Matt Al Ranchos. Wait, did you go, you went to prints over the weekend? No, no, like an art print.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Oh, okay. Did you have your own print? No, no. I would tell you, I had a sweaty butt. I'd tell you that much. Okay. All right. Thanks for that.
Starting point is 00:19:10 I also didn't help that. I bought Megan a hat and she lost it within an hour of having it. Then I had to search the whole place in the Texas heat for a. Did you find it? I did find it after like five laps of the whole place. Were the blinders there? The blinders. Like horse blinders?
Starting point is 00:19:28 The Peking blinders? The Pekin blind. There's something there. The peeky blinders. Is that, oh, it's different. He's a pecan guy. Pecan, pecan, pecan. I say pecan pie, but I say pecan.
Starting point is 00:19:42 Interesting. Why do you switch it up? Yeah, why you coat switching on us. Same thing. Why I say the Caribbean or Caribbean? I say Pirates of the Caribbean, but sometimes I just say the Caribbean. I mean, that's you're right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:55 I'm a pecan guy. Pirates of the Caribbean doesn't sound right. Yeah, yeah. Pirates the Caribbean. Got a nice little, like, a stained glass. plant too. It's pretty cool. It's got some nice stuff. Uh, and then
Starting point is 00:20:07 went back home. I took three showers on Saturday. And then we went out to Armadillo, Dun, Megan, I and one of our friends, Nick, you guys know him. Uh, we went to go watch the game. And we got to go watch my longhorns. Beat him. Beat them. Beat them. Beat them. Buckeyes. Well, so hell yeah, brother.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Hook him. They're so mad. He can't even be happy for us, Thorne. How am I mad? I watch. I watched the whole game and actually did not think the game was over at halftime, unlike a lot of people, a lot of people. Did you watch the whole game there? I did watch the whole game there. That's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:20:42 It was fun being out and like everyone's celebrating, get on the picnic tables afterwards. It's quite fun. Saturday morning got breakfast at two hands and then we kind of clean the place up and decorated for Halloween. Go check out at Rainey Trebekia on my Instagram store. right now i got uh did a little tour of the whole place it's looking extra spooky even if you think it's too early david i mean yeah like well over 30 days no it's after labor day it's spooky season
Starting point is 00:21:16 fuck i'm in a position to make that judgment no you're not as the as the guy who does spooky season no you just don't even care about Halloween people are saying that people were concerned about your lack of enthusiasm for spooky season people who are reaching out well i don't like to overdo it people return to Patreon for spooky season day. We'll see. It's kind of a big deal. We'll see if they do. We don't know.
Starting point is 00:21:37 Here's the thing. I'm from the north where September, it starts to turn. You're already getting kind of fall weather up there. Must be nice. It's true. We're not getting it here. I'll tell you that. That's okay, though.
Starting point is 00:21:47 How about yours, big dog? Friday. Well, the reason I couldn't go to the Scarry's event, because I had another event that I booked about five months ago. And then I was already in the bag about $500 for allergy testing. Pretty sick stuff, right? Yeah, I've done it before. I actually just sent Randy something.
Starting point is 00:22:05 I got poked and prodded for about two hours. At my allergist, man, to poke and plod me. This was phase two of the test, where they had to do the individual needles. It's not a full-on shot, and it actually does... It's just uncomfortable. Right under the skin, right? Yeah, it's just uncomfortable.
Starting point is 00:22:25 It doesn't really hurt. But it takes forever. This is the ones they did on my arm. It's the ones that flared up. I don't know. It's kind of gross, but I sent this to a listen. She was like, yeah, that's what your arm looks like. So they had this thing where they like smash it down.
Starting point is 00:22:37 You're like that that has all the stuff on the ends. It feels like it's a plastic thing. And then you sit there 15 minutes to see what happens. And then, yeah, I had some shit popping off. Cool. So now I get to, I'm doing the allergy drops now. What are you allergic to? You know what's funny?
Starting point is 00:22:53 Not allergic to Cedar at all. No reaction from Cedar. Ragweed, of course. they rolled the joints all wrong as we know thanks uh three types of grasses including uh bermuda um no cat or pet dander none of that which i wasn't surprised by one kind of mold which kind of sucks because molds year around and uh maybe one other thing but yeah it's you know is what it is it's it's not fun you're just sitting there like they do it and then there's a timer and you just kind of sit there and you can't only look at your phone because you have to keep your arms like this.
Starting point is 00:23:33 So you're sitting there making small talk with a nurse. Oh, so what do you do? I'm like, oh, you know. What do you do? I want to talk about it. Yeah, I don't really feel like dealing this right now. I'm missing a, I'm not going to get a sweatshirt because of this. And that's that.
Starting point is 00:23:51 That was my Friday. We got some lunch and beers with the lutes. Klein came through, intern Klein, co-owner of the, company. Pulled up. We went and went to Bill's Oyster, had two high lives, and I had the burger on Friday afternoon. It was fucking great.
Starting point is 00:24:13 I sat down and a friend of the show, Ryan had a high life sitting there. And I was like, that is exactly what I want. Like in the bottle. He ordered it for you? No, he had it for him. But I looked at it. And I was like, that's what I want. It's a great bar to sit at.
Starting point is 00:24:26 Go check out Bill's oyster. Still haven't been there. You have not. for great things. Haven't been. It is a, their burger is, I'd give it a top five Austin burger, which is saying a lot.
Starting point is 00:24:39 There's a lot of good burgers in this town. Okay. Good happy hour too. Good happy hour. Did you watch some football? I did. We had an unfortunately timed Saturday practice,
Starting point is 00:24:53 T-ball practice, to hit right in the middle of my A&M, Arizona State game that I was enjoying. Not a bad game. Score looked worse than it was. Arizona State held their own, I thought. I didn't know what to make of that program with them losing.
Starting point is 00:25:10 Love it. But their game. Great, great coach there. T-ball practice, cool. We just scrimmaged the whole time because we had a game Sunday. Go home. Just watch ball. And when we get to the ball segment, I'll reveal my JFF Big Three,
Starting point is 00:25:28 which I think you guys are going to like. JFF. Yeah, you probably know what it is. Shirley, you understand that. You watch a lot of football, right? Johnny fucking football? No.
Starting point is 00:25:37 No, dude. You're going to kick yourself when you hear me say it. You're going to totally be embarrassed. I got nothing. Watch the Texas game. Alyssa had a dinner, birthday dinner with some gals. And me and the boys watched the flyover on the TV.
Starting point is 00:25:54 I said, let's go right outside. Let's look north, northwest, west area. We're going to watch these planes fly by, fly by, excuse me. Watch it, boom, sell the two jets. We're waiting, we're waiting, we're waiting. About 45 seconds later, there they go, over West Austin dripping springs. Showed the kids their first jets. It was very cool.
Starting point is 00:26:18 Nice. Yeah. And they're like, but that was just on TV. I'm like, yeah. Yeah, bud. So if you think I had to go inside and rewind it three times, you are correct. they're like well you're like wait so how what were those uh f-16s i don't know i don't either sure pft i bet brett would tell would brett would he would very confidently tell us and he may
Starting point is 00:26:43 or may not be right fair yeah that's very fair i feel like pft always gets them right on the flyover somehow he always tweets that um texas game i stuck with it i ordered tie food watch the game i on God never thought that game. I thought the game was in play. As bad as they looked, to me, I'll say until the full seg, it had the feel of a game where one team, an NBA game where one team comes out and shoots like 50% from three and they just can't miss.
Starting point is 00:27:17 And you're like, I know that can't, they're not going to do that in the second half. I know they're not. Now, I know it's a little bit, a lot different actually in football. But that's just how I felt about it. I was like, Texas is still on this game. So in turns that I was right. I'm just a ball knower.
Starting point is 00:27:32 Sunday we had our first game. The Chiefs posted at DC Rough on Instagram. Opening day, there's nothing like it. Truly nothing like opening day. Got the dub. Chiefs got the dub. Rhodesy, man, I almost want to like send Randy the video.
Starting point is 00:27:50 He's absolutely ripping the ball. Let's go. I'm just going to send him the fucking video. Let's fucking go, dude. I want to see it. Did you see the, did you see his uniform? Yeah, I saw
Starting point is 00:28:00 either you or Alyssa posted him in the uniform. I think it was you because the caption you had was exactly what you just said, nothing like opening day. Yeah. They're dope. You might see the logo and be like, the chiefs, what's going on? What's a dog from Paw Patrol? Well, they used to be,
Starting point is 00:28:17 this is the Peoria Chiefs. They do Little League teams in the fall. And they changed the mascot in 2005. Because it was a different kind of chiefs. And now it's a fire chief. By the way, it was an F.A. 18 Hornet. I knew it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:34 Very sick. According to AI overview. All right. Here goes Rhodes. It's a visual show. Pitch of pitch, bad or bat. Oh, my God. Dude, I watched him play, what was it, six months ago, spring ball? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:49 And it looked nothing like that. Dude, confident. Holy crap. My favorite part is just how quickly he drops the bat and goes he doesn't fuck around he's figuring it out oh my god one more time that was matched i know that i know that i know that got through the infield dude he he's got great hip action he really turned on that you know how i tell okay you want to know how he's i'm working on that with him squished the bug no this is much worse actually and uh i'm afraid it's starting to permeate his uh his teammates because
Starting point is 00:29:23 road sinks it's funny for obvious reasons because like i was trying to be like dude you want to get your hips through the ball i'm like that's where your power comes from your lower body. I'm like, think of it this way. Think about you want to get your pee-pee and your pee-pies pointing out towards a shortstop. That's perfect, yeah. I'm like, get your pee-p., point it toward the shortstop.
Starting point is 00:29:42 And, of course. That's exactly what they tell major league players. Yeah. I was like, you want to go pee-pee on that ball? Just throw your rook? Just throw your ding-dong at it. That's what Rook does. You think when Rook's up there bad,
Starting point is 00:29:52 he's like thinking something else, I'm going to get my pee-pee for me. I'm going to pee-pee on this baseball. Yeah. And, yeah, it worked. I mean, it works. You know, sometimes you've got to do that. I'm even, I'm even introducing some new material.
Starting point is 00:30:04 When I'm, some of the kids, a lot of kids on the team are new. And to get a ground ball, they like to do the full squat. You know what I'm talking about? They don't understand the hip hinge. Right. To you just get down and get it. I'm like, guys, throw that, throw that butt back. You got to put your butt back, bend down and get it.
Starting point is 00:30:21 Don't bend your knees so much. Just get that butt back. Throw it back. Throw it back. Coach Ruff said butt. Look back in. I'm like, you know what I did? And you can tell your parents.
Starting point is 00:30:29 You can tell your parents I taught you that I don't care It's fine If you're not, look, I can't have kids Like missing baseballs Because they're like squatting down And they're falling over the place Nah, I get that ass back
Starting point is 00:30:39 You can't have kids Keeping their pee pointed pointed this way No Towards the shortstop, obviously Just the way I was taught You need to connect with them On their level, you know And peepee and poo and butts
Starting point is 00:30:51 Is, you know, how they react Yeah Then they'll start listening Squish the poo Yeah We haven't done that one There's not really a poo-poo play tea ball yet the flaming bag of dog poop yes squish it out okay it's good there's something
Starting point is 00:31:06 there's something there uh you know and then i don't want him to kill myself because i had to watch a cowboy yeah yeah we're talking ball later save it i don't want to talk ball i don't want to do that we can go quick to the boys i don't really want to talk but uh and that's that fun times fun weekend all around best meal chut tuck tuck tuck tuck's my favorite uh south austin thai food what are you going to decorate for halloween if you if you have such a problem with it what when do you think is the proper day alissa will go she will get a big order of gourds and a pumpkin from how from uh hc b which they are out now i saw it'll probably be the work first weekend in october
Starting point is 00:31:49 if not the last weekend in september that makes any sense whatsoever someone said in the chat that it was 47 degrees in northeast Indiana today. So they got fall weather. Oh my God. It's so nice. What I wouldn't do for that, dude. Look, I have to, I have to downplay spooky until it gets closer.
Starting point is 00:32:09 Because I don't want to, I don't want to, I've got too much going on right now. Yeah, I can't, I don't want to think about it. I get it. Just give me a minute.

Try fit bawled. Real quick, Thori Talk Ball. I've got a couple online quick hitters. There's two things I wanted to discuss. I am fully immersed in the slop. I've made the mistake of watching and sharing too many of the certain kind of video. And now it's all I'm being served. I can't stop. Randy, if you could share the Instagram I sent you. Not that. Yeah, this is the one. This is a...
Starting point is 00:34:25 Tony and Polly Walnots doing a Fettywob. I saw this the other day with Charlie and Erica Kirk. Yeah. A duet here. It looks so real. It helps that the song is just one of the best songs of the last decade. Fettywap, just unparalleled run. Tough times going to jail, but he's back now.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Yeah, it's just AI slopping. It's just, I mean, there's, yeah, there's Jeff Epstein ones. There's, you name it. you want, do you want Walter and Jesse? They got it. And it's all them just doing this Fettywop song. And this is some AI slop that I've actually been consuming. And I feel bad about it.
Starting point is 00:35:04 I don't feel good. I don't feel like a good person doing this. Build the data centers, man. I guess. I mean, if I'm going to, it means I'm going to get Polly and Tony doing six, seven, nine. I get it, dude.
Starting point is 00:35:15 Why not? And then I thought of a funny thing. We referenced this last week in one of the shows. There's the guy who approaches the, the car girl and he starts talking to her about like how she's always getting hit on by old guys and he's trying to like plead with her and he sounds like he totally embarrasses himself and uh there's i was thinking this could be a really good fantasy punishment to where like if you lose you have to like recite this by memory to a car girl like with no all your buddy films it yeah
Starting point is 00:35:45 no no context if you want to play it and you won't be able to get through this whole video it's it's it's one of the hardest to watch videos you'll ever see a minute 21 yeah no we're gonna do we're 15 seconds of it go. Dangerous. You do recognize that you are absolutely stunning, right? Most men, I would imagine most men, especially of an older generation. They're not used to seeing such apparent beauty. No, when they see someone just as breathtaking as you,
Starting point is 00:36:12 it is a wonderful thing to find someone attractive and then to have their attention. If this is your boy, and this gets leaked, and this is your boy, how do you handle it is this like you got a suspension at the at the least like you take him out of multiple month suspension you take him out of the group chat
Starting point is 00:36:33 he's out of the group chat you need to think about what you did here man yeah you got you got to like go sit him down and be like all right you're out of the group chat you're making a soul look bad he's out for a month of the group chat and uh the simping is
Starting point is 00:36:46 and just like the passion behind it you got to understand You must. The effect you have on men, especially of an older generation. Especially of an older generation. I thought this would be, it's, it just might be a funny thing if you had to approach somebody in no context and just recite this. And they're just like, what's going on? That's a good fantasy punishment.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Or another fantasy punishment, you just have to watch this all the way through. And you have to watch it on loop for like, I don't know, maybe like an entire day. This is all you can listen to. only content you can consume. I forgot how bad it was. Somebody posted it in the circling back Reddit and I went back and watched it. And I was like, dude, I can't believe this. It's real bad. I almost need a follow up. So anyway, this is day's online behavior. Thank you so much. Let's talk ball. Ball talk. All right. We're going to do college football first. I want to talk OU Michigan first. We had this one, right? Oh, God. I don't think anyone got this one right. We were here last week.
Starting point is 00:37:47 And I think the phrase I used was, oh, you was going to absolutely throttle Michigan. Not that I thought that OU was this incredible team. I thought they were pretty good. They had a great defense. But as bad as Michigan looked against Western Michigan, and then crossing the 50-yard line twice, considering OU's defense. And they had to put up, in my mind, you know, 17 points.
Starting point is 00:38:07 And it was going to be a, you know, a double-digit win. Like, it was, Michigan looked bad, really bad. John Mateer. I've withheld my true feelings about John Mateer. As you guys know, I've gone on record in the past, talking about an OU quarterback that really has been biting me in the ass for many years now, talking about Jalen Hertz. I wish we could pull the tape, like, from the bullpen last season.
Starting point is 00:38:38 We're like a few games in. And I remember Brett, old Brett, talking about how legit John McKear was. And I'm like, dude, he's really not that good. Like, watch him play. He's really not. He runs around. He's got like a little Johnny football in him the way he runs around and kind of creates plays. But Johnny football, he is not.
Starting point is 00:38:55 The dude is, the dude sucks. I'm tired of pretending like this as a guy. He's not a guy. Everybody was giving him like, all right, well, his hand was hurt last year. He's going to be better because he made, he just wasn't making good throws last year. And he looked, he looked like he did last year. Before his hand injury last year, he played nobody. Like, OU was, they looked good against nobody defenses.
Starting point is 00:39:20 And so the thumb injury happens. And then his first game back is Texas. He throws three interceptions against Texas. The rest of the season is like, oh, well, his thumb is not the same. I'll promise you, this guy is like legit. Like, okay. He's never really proved it against a decent defense. Not once.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Literally not one time is this dude played a decent defense and played well. I'm tired of pretending like he's an okay quarterback. He's not. He stinks. He is very inaccurate. He doesn't see the field well. He doesn't throw the ball accurately. He just stinks, man.
Starting point is 00:39:52 Anyway, John Matillo. Oh, you've. fans, I'm sorry. I know Saturday was a rough day for you. I'm going to talk about that later. Yeah, I mean, I will say Michigan came out like with a purpose. Like they were coming off. This is probably the worst, the worst thing that could have happened for OU is to go play a Michigan team that while they did win that game was like the laughing stock of the nation. Everybody was mad that they got the win. Kind of playing like they had nothing to lose. And they, yeah, I mean, they looked really, really good on defense. They did. They did. The defense looked good. And they that Bryce Hunter would run the ball a little bit, which he can do well.
Starting point is 00:40:27 They're definitely, I still don't think Michigan's like good. We were at the hotel and I was with family because it was during the day. I was with family and they had a bar by the lagoon and they had the game going. So I kind of snuck away and I look over and there's an OU fan that's just distraught with like two minutes left. He's just like throwing his hat. I couldn't help. Slump in his seat. I'm like, oh, I can't celebrate this win right now for Michigan, but I want to.
Starting point is 00:40:51 I thought about, I thought about team. I thought about Eddie, our boy Eddie, Radosovich. And I was just like, this is tough. This is really tough. If you think about the day, I'll just get this OU fans segment out of the way. If you think about the day that OU fans had, so you had the Michigan game, which their quarterback who they thought was this guy just stinks. They lose to a team that, like you said, was a laughing stock last week
Starting point is 00:41:21 because of what they did against Western Michigan. So they lose, and they're like, like, all right, well, at least they get to hate watch Texas tonight, right? Texas playing number one team in the country, Ohio State. And throughout the first half, they were like, all right, oh, you stinks, but at least Texas is getting the, you know, the doors beat off of them. This is blown off, whatever the phrase is.
Starting point is 00:41:42 At least we got that going for us, right? We're not the only ones here that are getting embarrassed. And then to stay up and watch the conclusion of that game, Just an all-time shitty day for OUU fans. You're missing their friends up the road in Stillwater. That's right. Oklahoma State. It actually gets worse.
Starting point is 00:41:59 Who snapped a 12-game losing streak against the number six team in the country, Oregon, Messdemeaker, that dude's a dog. I love watching him play. Happy for him. Happy for that team. Nice bounce back for them. To watch Oklahoma State win. They're like, oh, fuck.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Well, we got Texas still. And then that goes the way it did. All-time shitty college football day for OU fans. I feel for team man, feel for Eddie, and I feel for the OU fans that had to endure Saturday. That was a tough one for them. Oklahoma State, we talked about it a little bit just now, but man, mastermaker. Yeah, I don't know what's going on with Oregon. I don't either.
Starting point is 00:42:39 Well, they played, was it Boise State Week 1, right? Boise State gave them all they could handle, and Boise State's probably going to win the Pac-12. Boise State looks really good. I don't know what Boisey State did over the weekend. But I'm assuming they won. It doesn't matter. It does matter, actually. But whatever.
Starting point is 00:42:59 I didn't watch much of this game. What is wrong with Oregon? Oh, yeah, they beat up on Memphis. Memphis is not a bad team. The defense just looks, they don't look in sync. They look out of position, and they just kind of got carved up. a lot of put up got a lot of yards put up against him
Starting point is 00:43:21 Decorian Moore had another sick touchdown he had a big drop on a fourth and two it wasn't a good ball but it's one you want your five star to catch I don't know man it's weird because they had a lot of guys including the quarterback
Starting point is 00:43:37 come back because like he was projected first round quarterback right like top five yeah comes back thinks, I mean, obviously got a bag, but like, you're going to go win a Natty, right? First ever at Oregon. They were my preseason pick to win a Natty.
Starting point is 00:43:54 And now, I mean, they're not done, dumb, but they, I mean, if you're getting carved up by in Stillwater, not an easy place to play, but if you go into Stillwater, like kind of underestimating a team like that that's young, a lot of high, they have a good quarterback, whether you think that kid's a day one pick in the draft or a day three, he's a good college quarterback. He was awesome at U&T. You can't go in there and fuck around, and they did. I found out.
Starting point is 00:44:21 And that sucks because I like watching Oregon. I had that going on the, my multi-view was killer. Yeah. Had a little organ on, had a little Solheim cup. I know you were really into the Solheim. I was, yeah. Can't believe that one turned out. What else?
Starting point is 00:44:37 Oh, yeah, we had Texas play, as you know. I'll let you take that. Texas, Ohio State. For whatever reason, I talked to myself into, throughout, throughout Saturday. just probably probably riding the high of oh you losing i was like man this is setting up to be a perfect day for me i talked myself into texas winning by like 10 i don't know i just i just got weirdly confident before the game i was at a bar like i said bar restaurant with the fam we had this killer spot and you know vibes were right first play the game fumble
Starting point is 00:45:16 Ohio state recovers already in field goal range luckily texas holds them to a field goal that there. But all right, we're going to spot Ohio State three points. Whatever. This is starting very badly. Possession number two, we saw what happened with a deep pass to Cam Coleman, which is a catchable ball. It wasn't a perfect, it wasn't a perfect ball. That's another ball that your your five star needs to catch. Yeah, he could he could have he could have put it on them better, but it's Cam Coleman. You expect him to come up with that ball and just the flukeous interception you're ever going to see. I mean, the defender wasn't within four yards of him when he was when he was diving for that ball. You don't see a ball bounce like that unless the ground's involved,
Starting point is 00:45:54 like ever. So that one I'll chalk up. That's the fluke. The, you can't really, the fumble is not a fluke. That is a fluke. So here you are playing Ohio State. You spot them three points and then the flukiest interception you ever see. And then, of course, they marched down the field. They score a touchdown. And I'm like, I mean, could not start this game worse. The rest of the first half was equally bad. I mean, not with the unfortunate events, but just Texas couldn't move the ball. Jeremiah Smith is just, he should almost feel embarrassed playing against college opponents at this point. He's just so unbelievably better than everyone around him at all times. His first half was special. He is an absolute freak of nature.
Starting point is 00:46:38 The guy, a guy that big, that strong running routes the way he does and that speed and he just catches everything. He's just an unbelievable athlete. He was destroying Texas. He was destroying Texas. 20 to 3 at the half. Nothing is going right for Texas at all. And in my mind, I'm like, all right, it's not completely out of reach and they're down 17 points. It's not completely out of reach right now. Let's make this game competitive maybe. To get the doors blown off is going to be a really hard, you know, really hard thing to stomach, really bad look for Texas and for Sark who has an M.O of not being, his M.O. is like, he's a good coach, program builder, but he can't win like the big one he's played ohio state the last two years lost uh can't beat
Starting point is 00:47:24 georgia and so the it's like this this is going to get really loud and he's going to get the criticism is going to be i mean he absolutely needed this game is and i'm just like man i i can't believe this is happening all over again i was so i was so i kicked the chair at one point like i said i had to go up to the room at half time because nieces got tired they went up to the room parks got sick. Chelsea took him up. So I'm like, all right, I go check on parks and I watch the rest of this terrible game in bed. Ohio State kicks another field goal early in the third quarter, so it's 23 to 3. And then some things start happening. As unfortunate as Texas was in the first half with that turnover, they had a lot of things go their way in the second half. A lot of
Starting point is 00:48:10 just weird thing. I mean, the muff punt hit off Niblet's helmet. Ohio State was right there. I mean, was right there. And luck, I don't know how we recovered that one, but we did. And that would have probably iced it right there in the third quarter. Honestly, we hadn't recovered that. There's another fumble later. Emmett Mosley catches a ball.
Starting point is 00:48:33 He's about a 20-yard game, fumbles it. Again, I have no idea how Cam Coleman fell on that ball. Ohio State should have, but recovered that one. Julian's saying at one point there is a slot. receiver there's busted coverage because they think everyone just focus on jeremiah smith um he misses him i mean he's streaking at the toward the end zone and he overthrows him and that's a that's a pass that you expect julian sand to make 99 times out of 100 doesn't land that one and then field goal we have at the end of the first half when jeremiah smith scores that touchdown you have the the camera
Starting point is 00:49:12 angle of jeremiah smith with sark in the background it's getting a lot of play on twitter Twitter right now. That was kind of the moment. You're like, all right, this game feels out of touch. And Sark is clearly, like, distraught. He's like, how does this happen again? That was an interesting shot because had it had gone Ohio State's way, that lives in infamy in Texas fans' minds, you know. But now it's like, all right, this is when Sart kind of locked in. Yeah, I got to give props to Sart because like I said, this is, this kind of became a must-win, like, as the game went on, just because of some of the, the fourth and short play where fourth and one, where he ran, like, did he run a reverse? Am I crazy?
Starting point is 00:49:58 You did. Which they should have never been there. So that should have been a first down on third. But, like, that was like, all right. In hindsight, you do it to yourself, man. In hindsight, I'm kind of glad it worked out that way because he, got criticism against Ohio State for running a similar play last year was it year before i don't remember um where it was a fourth and short situation and for whatever reason he decided to do some kind
Starting point is 00:50:24 of reverse pitch out play like dad which tackle for loss i think he learned some lessons in this game to lean on the o line a little bit more who played their asses off by the way and kind of let's run between the tackles a little bit more well respect to him going forward on fourth twice Dude, a fourth and nine and a fourth and six from your own territory. Hey, you don't convert you to one of those and it's, and it's, it's lights out. So he said, did the screen pass work once? Okay, no, which he was getting, he was getting a lot of criticism for this, the screen pass,
Starting point is 00:50:56 which it didn't work the entire game. But he used that to set up in the final drive, he did an RPO fake bubble screen, and then Mosley. ran a slant. And that's what set him up on the one-yard line. So it worked out. You could say he's playing the long game to set up something else later in the game, but I'm so tired of seeing that play.
Starting point is 00:51:23 That's a lot of people aren't. Those don't work against the caliber of athlete at Ohio State. No. You're elite schools where it's like, dude, they're not going to miss the tackle. And there's the only, there's like two things that can go that can happen on a play like that. And it's, I mean, dude, wasn't the first play of the game? Was that not a school? Yes.
Starting point is 00:51:42 Yeah. It's like, just so much shit can go wrong. I think there was like two dropped screen passes too that if they would have been like completed, it would have been a loss of yards. Yeah. Like as a fan, that that's a play. Like no matter what team I'm rooting for, it's like hard to watch. The drop passes overall.
Starting point is 00:51:59 We're pretty bad. So arts, arts starts to find his feet a little bit in the third quarter and they, they drive the ball down. Again, there was that fourth and long conversion. That's the same, the same drive. Also, the fomble recovery by Kayne, that's all the same drive and then they're they're knocking on the door as the third quarter comes to an end right so it's 23 to 3 starting the fourth corner uh pass to wingo touchdown second play of the third quarter all right we're down we're down 13 defense has got to step up make some plays so the touchdown that jeremiah smith caught at the end of the second quarter was it yeah that was the last
Starting point is 00:52:41 catch he made in the game yeah that's wild receivers not named jeremiah smith i think caught two passes for 24 yards that's kind of crazy which is nuts uh defense what's the tight what's the texas is tied in it's just a fucking unit um spencer shannon yeah he's a he's a he's not much of a receiver that dude can fucking block which is probably why he was open yeah i feel like you Yeah, I don't know, man. As I'm watching it, I was just thinking, like, what the, what the narrative in Austin's going to be if this doesn't, if this doesn't work. And I'm happy for Sark because any, if you have a coach that's willing to go for it, like, on fourth knowing like, hey, like, he even said, I think he had a quote about like, I'm not playing to make it respectable. I'm playing to win.
Starting point is 00:53:35 They hired me to win. Kind of a ball. Love that. Yeah. Love that. Because there was a game last night. we're on the first drive of the season. We had a fourth and short in the Giants territory, or in our territory, and we punted it.
Starting point is 00:53:48 And I'm just like, no, dude, go set the tone for the season. Go set the tone that you're going to go for it on fourth. They went forward on fourth and six, kind of like midway, late through the third quarter, I think, in their own territory. And I told Chelsea, I was like, this is a bad call. You should not be going forward here. There's a lot of time left. Like you're down 13. There's a lot of time left.
Starting point is 00:54:08 Pump this ball. rely on the defense and he did it again arch hit um it moseley over the middle for it was a beautiful pass and it's like oh my god what are we doing so that worked out and then um of course the hos state has the ball up six and they they kick a long field goal the kicker had been money so far in that game and missed it yeah that's it that was electric part during at the bars i'll tell you yeah that was i mean obviously like like i said like a lot of a lot of a lot of lot of really fortunate things happened for Texas in the second half. The game, Texas stole this game. They should not have won this game. I got to call it the clock management on the last drive.
Starting point is 00:54:50 I even started texting you guys about it. I tweeted about it. I didn't, I don't, you have so much time left and we're passing the ball and we're snapping it with, you know, like 25 seconds on the play clock as the time is running down. Why not you have two, you have at least two timeouts. Like, what are we doing? I didn't really have a problem with it. Really? Because like they were, They were in rhythm. Like, they were going quick and they were just having success. It's like, you got to, you have to score. Dude, to score that last one.
Starting point is 00:55:16 It's a lot of, they were still, I feel like when you sent that text, they were still, they weren't like near the goal line. I feel like it was earlier in the drive. And I was like, dude, you got to do whatever you can to move. So on the touchdown play from the one yard line, the, to Hollywood's mothers that run up the middle where he jumped over the line, they snapped the ball. The play concluded with 25 seconds left. As the clock was running down,
Starting point is 00:55:39 you have it was by the way third down why not let it run down to 12 seconds before you snap that you have a timeout if you don't get it called time out and run it again i was confident that texas was going to score my only concern was the plate was the uh time left on the clock when it got when you have fucking jeremiah smith all you got to do is getting field goal range why leave 25 seconds on the clock yeah i go line the go line situation yeah but like the overall drive it's like those you can't presume that you're just going to drive down there and score. From the,
Starting point is 00:56:10 they snap it from the one yardland. Not then. I'm talking about earlier in the drive. But they had two plays left, man. Why not let it go down? I don't know. I didn't understand that.
Starting point is 00:56:17 I kind of got a little bit like, uh-oh. And then of course, Colin Simmons, he's going in for the sack and he got held on that, the second to last play of the game. Did he gets held? It's a lot like watching any, you watch any elite edge rusher like you see like he gets held on every play.
Starting point is 00:56:31 Like watching Micah Parsons, when he was a cowboy, like gets held a lot. Colin Simmons gets held. Even by, even by the right tab. tackle at Ohio State, whose name I can't remember. He's a good player, I'm sure.
Starting point is 00:56:43 Like, dude, some of those were egregious and they weren't called. Yeah. Texas stole that game, dude. Some big nut calls by Sark. Got to turn around. Defense started to play. Must champ is kind of known for halftime adjustments. And he put Bo Masco, who's a transfer from Rutgers, I think.
Starting point is 00:57:04 Oh, dude. On Jeremiah Smith. He's locked down. He had some really good reps in the second half against Jeremiah Smith. And dude, I don't know how they pulled that off. I just want to, my God. I just want to say thanks to Kirk Herb Street for the drive-by on Texas State and University of Texas, El Paso after the game. What a fucking dick had this guy is?
Starting point is 00:57:26 I missed it. He just, he was like, man, he just did like, it wasn't that a great game? Isn't that a lot better than watching these teams play a Texas State or a U-TEP? Like, dude, why don't you, this guy fucking sucks? Yeah. This guy's. That was electric, man. Absolutely electric.
Starting point is 00:57:41 I mean, Simmons didn't get a sack. He got one. He had a, he had some pressures, though, that were pretty timely. I was so happy. I mean, I had to celebrate while Parks was sleeping next to me. And he didn't end up waking up for the last play of the game because I think I was a little bit too loud. Did you see a boy? Did you see Aunt Hill went off?
Starting point is 00:58:01 Yeah. A ton of tackles. Good for him. Yeah. I can't believe Texas won. game, man. I don't really know what to make of it for either team. I think they're both like top five teams, which is all that really matters. I mean, they both, because like you said, like the the interception, the Camp Coleman drop that flipped up in the air is like the flukiest thing you'll
Starting point is 00:58:23 see. Yeah. Dude, the O line looks so good. They, they, pass protection was unbelievable. Yeah, they did. They did. This is like this is going to make like fans of other teams cringe, you know, I'm like, shut up, dude. But, like, Texas has been really, really good. I don't think that they had the belief that they could win a game like that yet. So to get that monkey off their back, I think is going to really change the confidence of the level of this team. Man, the garden's in there just clipping and bookmarking stuff for future use. I forgot to ask Old Brett what he thought about the Lane Kiffin-Fansville commercial.
Starting point is 00:59:01 By the way, they didn't look that great. I was a game going into the second half. Losing it at Tech. Yeah, they didn't look that great. Purdue lost. I'm so glad that Texas has UTEP this weekend. UTSA. UTSA, sorry, just a...
Starting point is 00:59:16 Fresh off of a victory in the I-35 rivalry against Texas State. A come-down game. What a fucking... What an absolute disappointment. I'm going to bitch about Texas State real quick. You're up 10 going into halftime, and you blow that game against UTSA,
Starting point is 00:59:32 which is a great program. trailer's awesome. But, like, that's your rival and you blow that game and you don't have a kicker, like still. And then you, you, I don't know what, they ran a different kicker out there who made a long field goal and then they ran the other one back out there. I don't know if it was injury or what. Just, just unacceptable. And like all of the goodwill that they had going into like the new year, the Pac-12, all this excitement, man, to go out there and lay a turd and lose a game at home. And by the way, I know it's like 100 degrees out there, but that's stadium. and San Marcos was like 25% full. It was terrible. Just embarrassing. Embarrassing all around.
Starting point is 01:00:10 I'm sad. I was really sad about that. But yeah, you guys got UTSA. What a night, man. I'm going to go ahead and get into my JFM Big Three because I know that's what people are really tuned in for. This is, of course, my new rankings. This is the Just for Fun Big Three. These are not the three best teams by no means. These are the three most fun teams that I have watched. Okay. Number one. And this comes courtesy of my time after the Texas game coming down, flipping out, looking for something else to watch. I throw it over.
Starting point is 01:00:48 And I'm watching Utah. I'm watching Devon Dampeer. Utah's fun. Utah's fun. It was the Jaquinden Jackson Bowl. Utah, Arkansas. Utah just absolutely wrecked Arkansas. They're good.
Starting point is 01:01:03 And I think everybody knew they were good. A lot of people had them win the big 12, them or Tech or BYU. So that's not a shocker. But their offense is so damn fun. Do you have Mississippi State on this? Hang on. So they are my number one fun team to watch. Gazoon tight.
Starting point is 01:01:20 Number two. Douglas who's for Jackalmoremore? Dylan. I don't know if you've caught any Camario Taylor. Dude. And then Bulldogs? Dude. State Bulldogs.
Starting point is 01:01:31 This kid. Number two on the JFF rankings. The ball leaves his hand like Matt Stafford's. He's a beast, man. The Velo coming out of this dude's hand is not, it's unbelievable. He is a lot of, and not just that. I mean, he puts it, he puts it where it needs to be. This kid is the real deal.
Starting point is 01:01:52 He's big, too. I'm not concerned about this game. Texas plays them later. Well, you saw what happened last year, because Mississippi State. We got him at home this year, which is nice. But that dude is really fun to watch. That's a game. If somebody were to give me free tickets, I would,
Starting point is 01:02:08 be like, yeah, I'll go watch that kid because I want to, he's a sophomore. He's like six four. He's nasty. He's fun. He got a lot of hype at the Manning. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We were talking about that with Taylor, I think. Yeah, he's just a freak, man. It's my number two team and my number three team rounding out the JFF Big Three for this week. Okay. Then Pokes. Yeah, got to give him some love, man. So fun, okay, it's a fun time to be a Pokes fan up in Stillwater. Um, I thought they had too much hype coming into the year. I thought people had unreasonable expectations for them. Like new coach, new quarterback, you know, they're bringing like 30 plus guys down from, or up from Denton to play a big 12 schedule. Okay. They look bad, week one. But like,
Starting point is 01:03:00 you're watching a team and you get to see like, all right, got Mestemaker who's going to go to the draft after this year, most likely. But you get to see your program in its infancy. And, you get to see a program in its infancy. And compared to what you had, which was like a burned down program, this is a really fun time if you're a Cowboys fan. And paid off. You just took down Oregon. We talked about it earlier. But like their offense is really fun. It's fun having a quarterback who makes the right decisions, goes through his progressions, and like makes the right reads.
Starting point is 01:03:29 Holy shit. Yeah, they had to. Weren't it. Oh, yeah. They took the goalpost down. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Texas Stirlfield, too, which I thought was fine. I thought that was fine.
Starting point is 01:03:39 Texas didn't. They didn't? No. Why was everybody on the field after the game? I think there were a handful of fans who ran out there with like cell phones and shit, but they didn't storm the food. I saw people like storming Ted Cruz. There were a handful of.
Starting point is 01:03:52 Okay. All right. I take that back. Sorry, they did not storm the field. But in Stillwater, they did. And rightfully so.
Starting point is 01:03:57 So that's my JFF big three for this week, Utah, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State. Okay. I like it. Fontaine. Those are team.
Starting point is 01:04:10 I'm telling you. Like if you, if you're at, There's a late game on, and Utah's involved. Go watch Utah. Utah's fun. And if you're a Big 12 fan, you'll get a chance to see him eventually. So check that out.
Starting point is 01:04:21 Anything else on football? Not unless you want to talk about the Cowboys anymore or anything NFL-related. I'll bitch about the Cowboys a little bit. Let me talk about our good friends. This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. I'd love to wake up tomorrow and be better at, I don't know, handling stress in a healthier way, being present with the fam being less online it's kind of tough with this job but that would be very very nice but here's the deal better is a feeling it's defined by you and for better help it's a

Starting point is 01:05:34 Do it. Betterhelp. com slash circling. Better help me get through this. segment. You know, how hard it is to like, I was, I think I said on the show how optimistic I was about the Cowboys. I think that I really liked the moves they made in the offseason.
Starting point is 01:05:54 I really like the hires they made, both coordinators. The defense was all just the worst defense you've ever seen last year. Half of those guys that were out there, like, aren't even signed to teams. So, yeah, there was some optimism that you're bringing back your offense. You got pickings, you got lamb, you've got a deck, you've got a high-powered offense. Okay, let's fucking go. I could take losing on the road week one to the Giants. Like, that hurts, but like, all right.
Starting point is 01:06:26 But what I can't take is just a defense that Chris Collinsworth. I don't know, did you watch it with sound on? Like, did you hear the commentary? Not much sound. I didn't watch almost all of it, though. He was disgusted by what the Cowboys defense was doing. Like, he was calling out. He's like, what are they doing?
Starting point is 01:06:43 He's like, how are these guys so open? How are they playing so soft on these guys? They're getting just picked apart. And shout out to the Giants. I mean, they totally embarrassed our defense. Christian Parker, who I really like, who's like 34 or 35 years old. And I was excited about the signing because it was like, or when they hired him, because it's different for the Cowboys.
Starting point is 01:07:04 They didn't get just some guy who, some 65-year-old dude who's just been a journeyman coach in the league. this is different. You get a guy who was in Philadelphia working as a defensive backs coach doing their, I don't know, they're scheming, their secondary scheming. And you're thinking, okay, hell yeah, let's go.
Starting point is 01:07:25 New identity, new players back there. And that last night, they just got their pants pulled down on defense and it was terrible. And you know what? That fucking sucked. And I was in a pretty bad mood about it. So that's all. I think they're going to be,
Starting point is 01:07:38 I can't make any rash judgments after one week, but I was looking ahead at the schedule. They got Washington, then they got Baltimore, then they got Houston. And I'm like, dude, is there a very real scenario here where they're one in three or O and four? Yeah, I mean, there probably is
Starting point is 01:07:55 because the Texans, I don't think they got pieced up at home, but by the bills, right? You got to go down there in a few weeks. And C.J. Stroud, he, granted, he did, hilariously fumble on the final drive to like win the game.
Starting point is 01:08:12 But he didn't look horrible that game against Buffalo. He looked fine. I don't know, man. I don't know. This thing just didn't go how I thought. And the offense didn't look great. They got it going, but like you have an inexplicable DAC interception at the end of the half that led to points,
Starting point is 01:08:30 led to seven points. That was a weird one. That was bizarre. That was bizarre. And I think the Giants have a great, they've got a great pass rush their defense is good. So I don't really mind the offense
Starting point is 01:08:42 looking a little bit slow or struggling there, but like, dude, anytime Scataboo is just getting everything, like just dominating your defense and I'm like, I thought we had like a good D-line. I thought we had that short up. What the fuck happened?
Starting point is 01:08:57 Dude, that guy, the way he throws his body around, he has two years. His first half to second half, he looked like a completely different person. That's the kind of guy you absolutely hate playing against because tackling him is never going to be easy. And they're also running around. You have to bring it every time.
Starting point is 01:09:15 Yeah. He is just absolutely fearless and just throws his head around. I mean, he's just, he's not long for this world. Dude, mix that it, mix that in with the fact that the giants are rolling out of 300 pound, like, fullback. He's a fucking pit bull, man. He's an absolute pit bull. He's good. We made Dartless a league.
Starting point is 01:09:37 He's better than I thought he was going to be. We made Dartlett. a lead, dude. Okay. He is good, Dave. It's not just that they made him look good. I think he's actually good. I'm not willing to go there. He was putting the ball where it needed to be, man. Yeah. Well, dude, when the when the DB is 10 yards off of the receiver because they're in some kind of like soft zone, I don't know what. I don't know. I'm too dumb to talk about it. I need to watch the All-22. You need to get Taylor in here. It was terrible. It was almost shocking. And then like, when they They kept, they were just like, you know, we can just throw it to the flat in the, the,
Starting point is 01:10:13 whoever it is, the safety or whatever. Like, there's nobody up here within 15 yards of this dude. They're just gashing us. It's very brutal, very tough night for me. Yeah. I switched over to Lioness. I was flying too high from the Texas game that the Cowboys game didn't sting so much, but I do feel for you.
Starting point is 01:10:30 Switched over to Lioness. Pretty good little episode. I didn't watch lanterns. Yeah, I haven't. I did. I got to watch it tonight. I watched it last night. What did you think?
Starting point is 01:10:39 I don't know. Really? I don't know. Okay. A lot. A lot happened. Okay. I'll say that.
Starting point is 01:10:47 You won't believe how much happened, David. That's a tease. I'm excited to watch. Things got fucking wild. Well, Dave, at least you got to watch your team. Dude, shout to the Bears. I found out we went to breakfast and we were like, all right, let's get home by at noon. We both wanted to watch the Bears, which is crazy for me, you know.
Starting point is 01:11:03 You didn't watch the Bears put up 100 points? I, uh, I turn on the TV. I have cable and through my apartment. I have cable and a bunch of streaming services. I found out that it was blacked out in our area. So it was like, all right, I could maybe add another thing on. But it's like, I would probably miss a couple games throughout the year and be able to watch all the rest. But it did suck.
Starting point is 01:11:22 I was really actually excited to watch the Bears and kind of watch them. Oh, dude, I used to black out in my area all the time. If I was in your area, I was probably blocked out, especially on Sunday. I had like five porlais going and I'm like two fantasy teams. Five portlays going? Yeah. One of them hit. So he took it
Starting point is 01:11:40 We took it out We went out after we went to Barbarillas Okay Shut of Dom Shaddam Yeah It was sick
Starting point is 01:11:49 But I blacked out in your area I showed Chelsea the clip Of your new character Big fan She was in the chat earlier She cool shit Chelsea was Yeah
Starting point is 01:11:57 What did Che Chechay say? I think she said Yes it is When I asked If the Santa Clara Clarita Diet was filmed there yeah totally is that that's like that's your girl yeah she's cool she is cool she is cool nice girl
Starting point is 01:12:16 no yeah no she's cool man Chelsea she's the one that makes the muffins right she makes muffins yeah nice nice nice yeah yeah but if you saw me over on rainy I was probably blacked out so like I apologize like sorry I'm not sorry though oh shit yeah are we gonna talk about Ted Cruz Absolutely tanking the game day vibes and then Texas breaking the Ted Cruz curse later on. Oh, my dad's his biggest donor. I can't really talk about it. Yeah, I'm not supposed to even mention that. You take that part out right there.
Starting point is 01:12:47 I just thought it was funny that they were like, you know what? We're going to roll out a, not even like politician A or B. It's just we're going to roll out any politician for about 12 minutes on game day. What better way to keep the hype train going for Texas, Ohio State than to bring out the fucking senator to talk about a. build that he wants passed for college football. And we're going to... What are we doing? We're going to expect the ruffians at game day to not boo.
Starting point is 01:13:14 Yeah. I saw people really mad. Oh, the blue hair liberal in Austin. I'm like, dude, you could have rolled out. There's like very few politicians they could have rolled out that they would not have booed. Yeah. But he was... But Ted, they did roll out.
Starting point is 01:13:29 I'm sorry. I mean, I think people on both sides will agree. He is not one of the most well-liked guys. For those who aren't aware, Ted Cruz, he represents every university in Texas. So if they're playing a team from out of state, he always wears their colors, goes to the games. And there's this thing going called the Ted Cruz curse where that team usually loses the game when he's in the building. Not just college, too. Like he'll show up like Rockets games and shit.
Starting point is 01:13:55 And everybody's like, oh, God. He'll wear Baylor colors. He'll wear SMU colors, Texas, A&M. He is my dad. I just support all the teams. I love them all. And so Texas broke the curse finally because he was in the building for the game. I'm the new face of the long horn.
Starting point is 01:14:10 He is certainly not. I did like his suit. His coat was badass. I'll give it to him. You know I had to do it to him. It's wild because I guess he was on there and I saw Sally reposts like a Tyler Rico sign there. When I remember when I was there for game day, they were taking down political signs. Like if you had anyone, there was someone had like a quarterback and said for president.
Starting point is 01:14:32 I don't know which. Oh, come on. And they're like, you can't have that no political signs. They're like, but this is a joke because it's the quarterback. And like, no. So I was surprised to see that there was some politics at game day in general. I just, I just think we should keep politics out of sports unless it's for my bill. Don't, don't give me a game day segment with the senator.
Starting point is 01:14:54 Well, the funny part is, I'm sure like all the, a lot of the talking heads are having fun with this stage. But like, ESPN obviously owned by Disney. Disney behind the scenes is like privately lobbying for. this bill, like very involved. Like they need, they walk this bill past. I don't, I have not, here's a fun fact, I haven't read the bill. I don't really have a take on it. I really don't.
Starting point is 01:15:14 I just thought it was hilarious and they thought they could roll Ted out there. Yeah. Ted, like, we're in Austin. We're going to roll Ted out there. And these kids are going to love it. Cody Campbell has his fingerprints on this as well. Yeah, yeah, he's very much involved. They should have rolled him out there.
Starting point is 01:15:29 He probably would have got the same reception. Yeah, you're probably right. You know what? If next game day, you know, when they eventually do a game day in Lubbock, which they're like this season, which I'm sure they're, I don't really know. Do they have any big games in Lubbock? No offense. No, their schedule is terrible. No offense. They could roll Cody out there to talk about the bill and they probably wouldn't get booed. Yeah. Oh, no.
Starting point is 01:15:53 Yeah, past the bill. That dude is below. Past the damn bill in West Texas. We got past that bill house. We're going to call out of a drink Kentucky deluxe house. Hey, everything is West Texas. Dave. Dude.
Starting point is 01:16:05 Shout to the gauchos. All right. That was an action-packed one. Do they forget, are the gauchos? Are they, are they, are they,
Starting point is 01:16:13 are they friendly now? Or what, what's your deal? Every time I, I say something tech-related, they have something to say. Do they harass you online? It's friendly.
