Starting point is 00:00:04 All right. All right. All right. All right Ranchos. All right. All right. All right.
Starting point is 00:00:18 We're back. Circling back podcasts. Thursday morning. Certified damp. A little moist outside, Austin, Texas. It's a wet one. Needed it.
Starting point is 00:00:30 My name is Dave. Going to get out ahead of it. My intro, I'm getting leg-mog heavy. That's all right, though. More on that in a minute. Randy is going to produce. Hi, Randall. Hi, Dave. I got a very important intro today. I teased it. Remember I teased it yesterday? You remember
Starting point is 00:00:44 about this tease, Dave? So someone on the Patreon point out, Dickie Know-It-Otall, Nick G, there was a scoring error. A scoring error is so big that I'm revoking your win and Brett actually won. No, that seems like it's on you. It is on me, but Brett won. What was the error? Is it that you gave Brett credit for putting two different songs? I gave you four points for Crocodile Rock when you only deserved two because you didn't lock in at the five seconds. You locked in at the five second, not the one second. So that would have been a- Did you go back and listen?
Starting point is 00:01:20 I did. They pointed out and I went back and I gave you and Will both four points when you guys are both supposed to only receive two points. Now did Brett bring it up in the moment. No, no, he did not. Then that's kind of on him. Okay. Wait, you see. So what did I end up losing by one?
Starting point is 00:01:36 By one, yeah. So, funny story, Dave won. You can't pull down banners. So I was Louisville 2013. I don't know, I think I'm taking it. I mean, you can. It's just, this is the kind of operation we run here. That's just scummy.
Starting point is 00:01:51 If he wants to win, do you know it that way? That's fine. It's kind of like winning a belt like for like an eye poke. It's when Aljo won the belt when Yon just like need them in the head. Or it's like when you, it's like when John Jones beat you because of an illegal or you beat John Jones because he illegally need you. The drug test, man. But I didn't do anything legal.
Starting point is 00:02:10 That's the drug test after. Yeah. You got popped. That's tough. Man, but that, I don't think that's, here's why that's not fair because it obviously is on you, as you've acknowledged. But I would have played the rest of the game differently if I thought I was in the rest of the game, there was only one question after that.
Starting point is 00:02:28 Which was? Well, there was two questions after that. Which were? Which were? It's a different timeline. I'm sorry. Which were the, the crocodile question about. That's the question I got internal.
Starting point is 00:02:38 I did. Yeah, that was the question that is at issue. But then there's obviously the last question, the bonus, which is all of the list. Maybe I'd taken that. I mean, I definitely would have taken that more seriously had I not. I thought you answered that one. Great. I was surprised that you got such little points for it because you had a lot of good names on there.
Starting point is 00:02:57 Okay. If that's how Brett, does Brett know? Brett does not know. No. I've been keeping this close to the chest that I, there was just, it's between me and the one person on on Patreon, but I think Brett deserves the win. You do, but wait, you acknowledge, you have to acknowledge, because most people, I believe, have acknowledged the fact that you gave him credit for a
Starting point is 00:03:18 correct answer. It was the Lincoln Park song. So he played a snippet. He played one second of Lincoln Park, and the song was numb. Remember who you are, white boy? He gave, he gave him full credit, and Brett wrote two different songs, and he gave him credit for it. He wrote numb and encore or two different songs.
Starting point is 00:03:35 Noam Encore by Lincoln Park, Jay-Z. Is that the name of the song? Yeah. That was the song that you played, Numb Encore. That's the collab with J-Z. That's the collab with J-Z. That's the collab with J-Z? I played just Numb.
Starting point is 00:03:47 So you didn't play that song. No. So you have to tell me how did he get credit for that when he wrote down a different song? Because if you were just taking the part of Numb Encore that I played from Numb, it also would have been in Numb Encore. It sounds like you're compromised by the Mary Man.
Starting point is 00:04:05 What'd he pay you? He didn't pay me anything. He doesn't even know about this. This is just a very interesting precedent. Why are you trying to cut down Dave? Do you know he's even around anymore? And we're leading with this? This is how we're starting the show.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Yes, this is how we're starting the show. Look, I've got nothing to prove. Like, I could retire today and like my numbers retired and it's up there. Top the game. Right up there. But you can't pull that down. Okay. You'll never take that away.
Starting point is 00:04:31 All right, man. In the moment, Brett did, Brett, to his credit, did great. in the music round, other than the fact that he wrote two different songs down and got full credit. Other than that, he did great. And I have no problem losing to Brett. Brett's a worthy opponent, as is Will. But Brett was good that day. You can't lose the Dylan. Dillon was producing. Yeah, Dylan, I would love to lose to Dylan. He needs a dub. But okay. Okay. So next time, like if there's a song and I'm just not sure of it, I'm between two songs, I'll just write them both down and maybe I'll get full credit. It's not like it's two separate songs. It was a it was a mashup
Starting point is 00:05:07 that was very very popular. Wait, I'm sorry, can you explain? If I go on to the compact disc or if I go on the Spotify, the song that you play, do you play that? Where do you pull that audio from? From Spotify. Okay, what was the song you pull from Spotify? I pull Numb Lincoln Park. Okay. So you didn't pull Numb encore? No. You didn't pull Lincoln Park encore. Did you pull J.Z encore, which is also a song? Jay Z was not associated with the song. I had to, all. No. Okay. I just want to be clear. And I'll leave that on the record. That's it. No further question. Okay. You're dealing with a lawyer here. You're dealing with a dog. The Texas law hawk. The Texas dog. Anyway. Wait, the law hawks already taken. Kangaroo court. Yeah,
Starting point is 00:05:50 this is bullshit. Lawhawks. I wonder if the- You weren't even there, Dan. It doesn't matter. It's coming in with this to start the show. This is how we're going to go. Yes. This is the energy we're bringing as soon as we get. It's Thursday. It's tomorrow. We've got Easter coming up. Dan had money on the game. That's why he's so upset. And I'm retroactively taken away from him. Well, dude, the ticket already cashed.
Starting point is 00:06:11 That's true. That's like, that would be like if a team, it's March madness, college basketball things of that nature. I brought up Rick Patino, right? Got the 2013 national championship, has the tattoo on his back. No longer recognized by the NCAA because of recruiting violations. That's like, who won the, did Reggie Bush win a Heism?
Starting point is 00:06:28 Of course he did. He did. It's also like if your team, so if you're, if you're a college basketball team. Can you imagine, by the way, if somebody knocked on your door asking for the Heisman trophy back? You're not getting hands.
Starting point is 00:06:39 It's just castle doctrine. No, no. This is like the Oscars when they were, they announced the wrong winner and then they said actually, you know, yeah, this was a mistake too. I needed an assistant. If you guys would like to hire me a judge assistant,
Starting point is 00:06:52 this is why actual game shows have a completely different judges and scorekeepers and the host. We'll hire, yeah, Randy, we're going to hire somebody to help you do math. Thank you. Basic math. Listen, that's not the strongest.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Look, I'm not telling tails out of school. I'm not a math guy. Us art guys. But this is like, okay, so you're up, let's say you're up two. You get the ball, 10 seconds left. You go down and you're thinking, all right, well, we get to the line. We just need to make one or something right. But then there was a scoring error previously in like a three that you thought you had.
Starting point is 00:07:29 They go back and look after the game and see. Foot's on the line. Floats on the line. And they say, actually, that was... So, like, they played the rest of that game differently. Right. I mean, they do do it in the game, but typically they solve that before the game's over. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Mm-hmm. That's all he's saying. Like... I want to produce next time. Realize your air in the moment. All right. Dave will produce next time. I'll produce.
Starting point is 00:07:52 It's not tough. Uh, here he is, uh, the guy who's quad mogging me. What's that old? Danny Regs murdered out. All black. Dan Regester. I think I'm going to a funeral. My funeral, apparently.
Starting point is 00:08:05 Well, apparently, Brandy's trying to bury you. This is crazy. This is insane. Someone said I should crowdsource and let the listeners decide. This is madness. No, I've already, I've already, look, I already took the chain off. I'll place the chain on Brett. Turnover chain?
Starting point is 00:08:20 The, do you know a champion? Yeah. It looks like a cookie. Okay. It's bedazzled. Is it bedazzled? Yeah, a little bit. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:29 I bet you personally made it, didn't you? He did. He definitely did. I stayed up to two in the morning making it the night before. There's no way that took that long. I mean, I, well, I was up to one in morning making the show. He was up until two with the chain. The chain is, Dan, you couldn't even wear the chain.
Starting point is 00:08:45 There's no way it fits over your head and neck. Haven't you been trying to put together this show for like six months? No. It's well received. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, no, longer than that. I don't have time.
Starting point is 00:08:56 Yeah. Okay. We're just talking things out in real time. amongst everybody. I want to get Brett's take on this. He's in a meeting with Will. That's weird. They could probably figure that out,
Starting point is 00:09:10 you know, out in the bullpen. Get a conference room with it. Get real professional. You get in the conference room, things change. Tones. Tones change,
Starting point is 00:09:21 more serious. You got a whiteboard that nobody uses, but you could. Anything that's sit in that room, too, it's not taking personal. It's just like,
Starting point is 00:09:28 that's business. No, no, it's all business. voice mails drop tomorrow only on patreon good voicemails i'm gonna just get out ahead of it it was me will and randy it was about 28 minutes of banter and then some calls that's that's just what happens here's the deal will doesn't get on the mic as much with me and randy and he got on the mic and we just riffed chop no running yeah it was great i think people were going to like it um i could promise you
Starting point is 00:09:57 more voicemails next week but it was good it was good what did mark twain once you say this could be totally wrong but he said i don't have enough time to write you a short letter so i wrote you a long one does that what he said i don't know well you want me do you want me a fact check dan i don't know maybe could have been twain could have been anyone else i don't want to get sued by the estate of mark i don't know if that's like a defamatory state no it's not no uh no it's a good it's a good quote i guess anyway yeah he also wrote uh grants autobiography i believe yeah mark twain I don't know that. I don't know why I said that like I knew. I go, yeah. He was boys with Grant.
Starting point is 00:10:36 Really? Initially, I believe Grant sold the rights to his autobiography to these like just two randos on a train on a napkin. And they offered him such little money. Twain was just like, no, we're getting our rights back. I'm going to do it for you. Yeah, you got to give it to the author of the day who Mark Twain. Yeah. Do people know what they had in Mark Twain back then they had to? Probably. Probably.
Starting point is 00:10:59 I think he was pretty revered at the time. What else, Randy? You never know. There's someone on Reddit is saying it was actually the earliest credit goes to French mathematician, philosopher, Blaise Pascal. This is not a comment on the circling back Reddit, but just general zeitgeist up Reddit. There's no way anybody put that on R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-R-D. It was on the Today I learned. Blaze Pascal?
Starting point is 00:11:23 I don't know, man. Reddit's just an awful place. And I'm not talking about circling back. Obviously, great place. We're lucky. We've got a decent Reddit. You have a good Reddit. You got Schwarchington.
Starting point is 00:11:30 But the general tone of Reddit as a whole, not a good place to be. It's all a bunch of um actually guys. It's a lot of people. I'm trying to shift the tone in here right now after Randy just absolutely came up my ass. I'm ready. Came at my ass. When you go at his ass?
Starting point is 00:11:51 You guys have been going at my ass the whole fucking show? Did you get a haircut? No. He just slated back a little bit more. I need a haircut. Jesus Christ. Look at my fucking hair. Yeah, you got the flow coming out of the back of the hat.
Starting point is 00:12:01 I like the flow out of the back, but it's just a mess up front. Really? What color is it? Did the sun? You've been playing a lot of golf. Is it blonde again? Well, the blonde is usually from when I, you know, bleach my hair, David. I haven't bleached my hair in probably two years.
Starting point is 00:12:16 This seat, a bunch of you, Dylan, handshake, not bleaching. Well, I bleach. His. He never bleached his bow. No, he didn't. And like, we would have paid for it. And he could have been walking around with the confidence of a man. man with a bleach buttocks. If you're new here, if you're a stooly, or if you found us through,
Starting point is 00:12:35 oh, I don't know, the BBC, Dylan lost a bet on a different podcast at a different company about nine years ago. Backdoor cover. It was my show. Backdoor cover. Yeah. That Micah just co-opped. The Micah has now or had. Anyway, Dylan lost a bet, and the bet payoff was he's got to get his butthole bleached. Yeah, I know what you're thinking. That's all he had to do. That sounds all. And it wasn't even on his dime. Correct. He chose not to do it because, you know. He's not a man of honor.
Starting point is 00:13:05 He's not a man of integrity. He doesn't fight with honor. I will never enter a bet with Dylan ever in my life because he welches on every single bet he's in. I welched on the combine bed. I'll give you that. No, it was mainly the Arby's bet. I would like to do the combine. I put it off because I thought we're going to do a general combine.
Starting point is 00:13:22 The Arby's bet will always be. That's one that I have to, that's like my Kingslayer moment when Jamie put the sword into the Mad Kings back, even though he had reasons for doing it. That was me not wearing the triple XL. You were there for this. The triple XL Arby's polo to an event with a PGA tour in like 2018. That was your reputation. Yeah. I was, I, we were new to doing stuff with a tour and I didn't want to do that bit. I should have done the bit. They wouldn't have cared. They would have thought it was funny. And I didn't do it. And that's one I'll never live down. So when you open the book of like great deeds by nights, when you look at me,
Starting point is 00:13:59 there's not my my my page will be relatively empty you're not getting four pages like sir dunk no I'm not getting four pages I'm clearly doing a rewatch right now yeah no I am too actually like bit season piece by piece I watched Lord of the Rings last night but which one fellowship nice extended of course you got to go extend uh they don't make movies like they used to you know I think Ross was trying to get Dylan like they had to have like a camera in there not like recording the actual act but like his face has the bleaching is occurring. And I think that's maybe what kept him from doing it. It's only on his face. Yeah, he still don't want. You still don't want people to know your facial expressions. He couldn't even be scoped like eating eggs. You think he was really going to. Well, he's getting
Starting point is 00:14:42 bleached. He's not getting just like, he's not getting hair pulled out. I'm wondering if they heard our talk about the breakfast. So Dylan's in Mexico in Cabo with, with Chels. Good Bayes-a-watch. Chels posted a breakfast on her Instagram story. And it looks fucking good. It's good. It's at the buffet, but it looks delightful. I don't know if you saw it rain.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Congrats to Dylan, by the way, right? Yeah, you should be the first. I'll be the first. Let me be the last. He lifts his cold brew.
Starting point is 00:15:13 To Dylan and Chels. Yeah. Has he met Chil's technically? Yeah. I have met her. I actually met her at Golds the other day. Dude, nice. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:24 Little gold's, uh, yeah. Love meeting people at the gym. or seeing like old friends like uh you go on for you don't want to go in for the hug sweating i saw bravo at t-ball okay yeah we we we give a big hug you do more of like a dab hug yeah side hug maybe with a dab side hug with a dab but you don't want to interrupt someone's workout too long five nine and a half with an attitude two minute max conversation otherwise like dude i'm sorry i'm tossing you guys all right i'm gonna call dan down dan anytime i would see you at lifetime I would get home, and listen,
Starting point is 00:15:57 like, did you see, did you see Dan? She knew. She's like, you saw Dan, didn't you? I'm like, yeah. Well, I would typically always be at the end of my workout, so I was done, and you were always starting. No, what Dan would do, and I didn't have a problem with this, but Dan would, like, just hop in my workout and do what I was doing.
Starting point is 00:16:13 But what I appreciated about it was he would just do the weight I was doing, which was clearly much less than Dan would do. And he would just do, like, twice the reps. No friendship, man. It's true. That's what we would do. I want to make it as easy as possible. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:26 I don't want to, you know, stun on you too hard. Tomorrow, wash.substack.com, there will be a washed weekly that hits your inbox very early. It's going to be good. It's probably just going to be Will and I. But I bet Will's got some heat. Will, I think Will brings his best when he knows we're short-handed. Steps up. Steps up. He's the podcast host and blogger who stepped up.
Starting point is 00:16:53 Put that on his tombstone. He's alive and well, by the way. Well, he's print a shirt. put it on a shirt. Speaking of shirts, man, you might notice this crew neck I'm wearing, this sweatshirt. It's Fair Harbor.
Starting point is 00:17:07 I talked about this yesterday. Even though we're about to jump into spring, it's rainy here. It's a little, it's not cool, it's not cold, but it's put on a sweatshirt and hang out in the office weather. And I'm rocking my Fair Harbor. I love it. You might know Fair Harbor from their great swim trunks.
Starting point is 00:17:23 And we all know, they're really good. They've also got a whole spring line. They've got Terry cloth polos. Randy, you've got some of those. I got some of those. We all got some. But don't sleep on the crew next too. Also, hoodies.
Starting point is 00:17:35 Got the short sleep button downs. We're big fans, but it's beyond swim trunks. The full line of casual clothing that's ideal for travel. I'll be traveling in this today. Head to Fair Harbor Clothing.com. Use code circling back 20. That's circling back to zero for 20% off your full price order now through April 30th. Once again, that's Fair Harbor, H-B-O-R-B-O-R-Clothing.com
Starting point is 00:17:55 20% off. Make sure you use our code circling back 20 so they know we sent you. Check them out. I was just going to do the show with Randy today. Then I was like, we got to get this, we got to get gambling guy in here. We got to get the dude who's just always texting like, bro, sick, I got this parlay. Well, me and Brett share golf things. You guys do. Yeah. You guys are the deepest in golf gambling that, uh, of anybody I know. Not in like a dark way. Not in like, uh, okay, we need to talk to the guy's way. But like in a, I enjoy when you're the office and you and bread are like sharing picks and stuff. Just chopping it up.
Starting point is 00:18:29 It's good. It's always like, man, you guys would be the first two people I'd call. Really, you, because you're on the heater, if I wanted to jump into that world. Of course. And I have provided my book to you. I believe you used them at one point. Allegedly. Allegedly.
Starting point is 00:18:41 We don't know. I don't even know what that is. Fair. I still have it on my bookmarks, my browser. Tell the folks at home what's going on. You guys aren't, like, sponsored by anybody gambling wise, right? Yeah, we are. Oh, you are?
Starting point is 00:18:55 Okay. I was just going to say they're not on the show. Not today. Not today. Okay. We rock with underdog, but that's different. That's more of a game. It's a little bit fair. But I just don't know if I want to glorify gambling on a mass scale.
Starting point is 00:19:14 I don't think it's good for the country. Like, I do it because I've done it for a while and I know what I'm getting myself into. Speak freely, man. There's a lot of people who share this take. Yeah, I just don't think. advertising, gambling, we do it too, you know, on our show because, you know, we got to cash checks, you got to pay rent. But it's generally not a good idea to get people on the, on the gambling teat. What about you, though? It's working out for you. I mean, for the last couple of long,
Starting point is 00:19:43 last month or so it has, been paying my bills. Would you sit down when you're, when you're like, oh, it's the Houston Open? Yeah. How many guys are you betting? So I bet I think a total of eight guys, but I give out picks on our Patreon and I try to limit- You gotta pay for those y'all. No, it's additional stuff. That was just additional content. We do a sports show as well as the history. We do enough content to it's worth your money anyway.
Starting point is 00:20:10 But I just figured, you know, as a gesture of gratitude, I just do additional stuff. So I give up the picks there. And I try to limit it to like four picks because at a certain point, it's like, oh, dude, yeah, I fucking picked another winner. You gave out like 20 picks. That doesn't seem legit. That doesn't seem glorified, you know. Yeah. Something worth something to glorify.
Starting point is 00:20:31 But there are guys that we talk about that you've been, you know, on their block for a while. Yeah. Like right now I'm on a first round leader on Austin Smotherman. He's currently first at the Valero. So fingers crossed. That would be like a 2700. Yeah. What tipped you off on a household name Austin Smotherman?
Starting point is 00:20:49 So if you look deep into the data. This fucker won't. Smotherman is a like top five guide an approach, which is something you need in TPC. It's tough course.
Starting point is 00:21:00 And that thing's playing soft. Got the rain overnight. Got the rain this morning. You know, had thunderstorms. Were they delayed? They were delayed, I believe,
Starting point is 00:21:08 an hour and a half. God, the weather changes everything. You know, as I'm checking my phone, that's another thing. You shouldn't get it into gambling because eventually
Starting point is 00:21:15 you just end up looking at your phone all the time and you're not a part of the moment. Don't do it, kids. It's a bad idea. you're probably going to lose more than you win. I went through a bad stretch like three months ago. They don't tell you about those.
Starting point is 00:21:28 Yeah, I mean, hand up. Lost a lot of money three months ago, and we're getting it back this month. But it kind of comes. It's a roller coaster. It's something you shouldn't put your emotions through. Wow. It kind of comes.
Starting point is 00:21:39 It's a roller coaster. I love it. Put that on a, put that on like a pleaser report photo. It kind of comes. It's a lorcoaster. I mean, it causes so many issues and your relationships with your family,
Starting point is 00:21:50 with just your friends. Your stress level. Your cortisol levels. Yeah, your cortisol levels. Yeah, you got to keep those low. You don't want it to spike at the wrong time. Yeah, clavicular knows. I have to just call out a great pun in the chat right here.
Starting point is 00:22:03 The mic chest says, Dan just really into swinging clubs. Yep. That's a good joke. Listen. If you listen to their Patreon episode, you would know. You got to pay for that story. Dan went to a club.
Starting point is 00:22:16 I've talked about it openly. I went to a swingers club here in Austin. It's fun. Yeah, see. Although, I would recommend not going on country night. Jason Aldine, he said. It really makes you soft. Literally?
Starting point is 00:22:31 Big green tractor, really hard to get hard too. Don't tell Randy that. I mean, you're definitely thinking she thinks my tractor. Yeah, I know. By Kenny Chesney. Different song. Randy, if Randy hears the good stuff, Randy's rocked on. Oh, I'll start crying.
Starting point is 00:22:49 Randy's crying in the club, rocked up. but still crying. But courtesy of the red, white and blue? I might get torrid off. You don't want to be rocked up in crying halls. To Toby, I could get rocked up to Toby. But that's a better story. You should just tweak the story for future reference.
Starting point is 00:23:04 Be like, yeah, the Toby Keith song came on. Do you say should have been a cowboy came on? Yeah. Everybody likes that song. Even if you're not a Toby Keith fan, you're like, I ain't as good as I once was. That's good song. It's true.
Starting point is 00:23:16 As you're like laying pipe. You're like, man, I'm just not as good as I once was. Irony, you know? because it's decent. I want to know what song was it that Micah got beat up to on stage. I don't know. He wasn't on stage. Micah tells that story.
Starting point is 00:23:34 Yeah, well, he probably embellishes. It changes summertime. You know, memory is a fickle thing. Well, Micah, the original story was Micah said the video for Aene as good as I once was, was based on him getting beat up by bodyguards. There's a scene in it. He's like, they're doing an allusion to me. Because I think there was the two guys in the music video that were the two that beat him up.
Starting point is 00:23:57 Yeah. On stage. The way that he says it that he was flicking off Toby Keith in the front row, he finally got called out, and then he invited him on stage and his two goons beat him up and like pushed him around. Wait, wait, wait. He's saying the video was influenced by his actual real life. Correct. That's what he claims. That's kind of like a comedian saying, oh, he stole my bit when it's like the most generic thing possible.
Starting point is 00:24:19 I will say, Michael was invited to do the show today. not unable to make it. He'll be on a future show. He's never available. No, he's more available now. He showed up out of nowhere a couple weeks ago. We like, we like were peeped and out there. Like, is that Micah? I just stopped. You know, we always used to invite each other out to flights and I knew. He lives in the drip. He's an hour away. He's not going to come out for that. No. I could also see that that was just a bit that Kobe, yeah, Toby Keith always did, like invite someone up and his boys like pushed him out of stage. And then I saw Micah flicking him off like, oh, no, let's actually fuck this guy off. I thought it was, I thought it was after
Starting point is 00:24:52 after the show. No, no. This was during, I think it was on stage, at least from what I remember the story was. Tell you what, I'm just not going on stage. It was because, like, it was the Willie Nelson picnic and Toby Keith got really delayed. So they were all like, which was, of course, he was the act right before Willie Nelson. So he pushed Willie Nelson back and like he was, Micah was just doing double birds. Are we burning right now? Is that what we're doing? No, I just, it's just a funny thing. We're Jim Rome burning right now. We've been burning all. It's negativity. If we're going to do it, I want to talk about concerts. I like to lay back. I hate the people that are constantly pushing forward to the front. I don't think there's any purpose to that. Oh, no. I was just talking to my friend about it. I'm like, I am so glad I'm in the age range that I will never want to be inside the crowd at a concert. Bro's 30. There's nothing worse, though, when you're with like a girl who constantly wants to get to the front, she like weaves in and out, but you're like, oh, sorry. Pretty soon she's behind the DJ taking selfies and you're like, oh, what's going on?
Starting point is 00:25:50 She's with Giorgio in the booth. What's going on over there? Yeah, for me, concerts, it's typically like, what's my easiest way to get to a bathroom? Yes. Or, like, the next drink. Fun fact, that Drake at ACL 2016, 2015, I was- We were there. My wife was with me.
Starting point is 00:26:10 I was honestly, like, you stayed. I was peeing in a bottle. You stayed. I peeing a bottle, like, twice. It's funny enough you brought that up. somebody else here their wife made him leave after staying up all day
Starting point is 00:26:25 at that specific stage to see the Drake concert sat through ASAP I say sad through he was fine he was late 21 pilots I keep looking at you you weren't even in Austin then
Starting point is 00:26:34 with 21 pilots What would that have been 21 pilots was that year I didn't see them They were cool because they climbed The guy climbed the stage I did see that I don't like that
Starting point is 00:26:42 ASAP was late It was birthday He played for like 30 minutes Whatever It was a good show But we were there all day camped out with all the Grand X crew and yeah somebody here and their wife made him leave before Drake and he got to get past it all he wanted to do was see Drake Drake I was right when hotline
Starting point is 00:27:00 bling came out Drake was really big oh yes I would have been in college he brought out future is when him in the future album dropped did future come out yeah future came out wow there's a picture of me there fun fact about me there's a picture of me uh well Dan And who you got? Who are you liking for the Masters? This might be the last time we have you on before the Masters. So with majors, especially the Masters, it feels like there's what, like 10 guys that can actually win it? Maybe. Max.
Starting point is 00:27:32 Love the Masters. Love the venue. Been there two years ago when Scotty won. I was there Saturday when it's super windy. I get it, dude. It's perfect. The no phone policy during a day event, just out in nature. It's one of the most like...
Starting point is 00:27:47 perfect moments of my life. You can't have to, you know, keep checking your phone for your gambling stuff. Can't. It's great. It's great. We get it. You went to the Masters. No, we just need more events where you don't have your phone.
Starting point is 00:28:00 The whole thing is the field's not, you know, super tough. It's not the strongest field in golf. I'm like sprinkle a little on Brooksie. Actually, I said that a month ago and then I watched him absolutely eject in Houston. Was it Houston the week before? Might have been at the Vowse Bar. You want some sleepers, some dark horses? I mean, they're not really dark horses.
Starting point is 00:28:20 Just say DJ. I wasn't going to say DJ. I want DJ. I want to remember, I want to watch a golf tournament and remember that DJ still plays golf. Is that too much? It is too much to ask. It is a lot to ask right now. Do you remember how fun it was when DJ was like at his peak?
Starting point is 00:28:34 And it's just like, you're just going to watch this dude just walk up and just half ass a ball and just 350? He's not there anymore. He's retired. He doesn't have it for a Sunday. Every event for DJ is a hit and giggle. That's it. But no, Justin Rose. Yeah, I like Jay Rose.
Starting point is 00:28:53 We talked about this. People are kind of like sleeping on road for whatever reason. He blew the field out. He's the great man, Justin Rose. Earlier in the year, was that Tori when he just won by like a million? I would love a Justin Rose win. I've been critical of him for no reason other than that he just looks like he would be a haughty Englishman. Like he would be one of the bad guys in the Patriot?
Starting point is 00:29:13 Yeah. That's not a real fair way to judge someone as a golfer. He is a nice guy. He's a good dude. Jason Isaac. A great dude. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:29:23 That being said, I do like him. And I did feel bad that he was bridesmaid for Rory. He needs to get one. I love Rosie. I've come full circle on Rosie. Yeah. He seems like he's embraced America. Lives in Florida, right?
Starting point is 00:29:40 Shocker. But he's, you know, I like it. To quote my two-year-old. I like it. Longer odds. Rosie was up there. Akshay, maybe, lefty. Lefties have advantage?
Starting point is 00:29:55 I don't think he's ready to win it, but I do think... Still young? I think I'd sprinkle him in two years. But Akshay, at the odds now, I think it's like 80 to 1. 80 to 1? Yeah. So Brooks, when I was talking Brooks up, like a month ago, he was at like 35 to 1, maybe 40 to 1. And now it's probably up there.
Starting point is 00:30:14 Like the one stretch of Brooks golf I've watched in the last three weeks. It was like double par, double, double, it was horrible. It was just absolute objection. Don't fall into the Jordan Speed trap. He will lower you. He will, you know, birdie three or four straight holes and then immediately give it back with the triple. Yeah. That's just the Jordan Speed experience.
Starting point is 00:30:33 Don't fall for it. I mean, realistically, honestly, if he is playing the best golf of his life and he's overcome the PTSD, watch out for Gary. Gary coming in off that huge Houston open win. It was emotional. It was awesome. It's great to see. Gary at the Masters. It could work.
Starting point is 00:30:56 How is he historically at the Masters? I think he plays okay. I mean, he's not like Adam Scott or Jason Day. Randy, I sent you Jason Day Fitz. Can you pull it up? Oh, we're doing that now? Let's just do it now since he came on. A good transition.
Starting point is 00:31:09 But before we do it, I want to just give a shout out to BetterHelp. This show's sponsored by BetterHelp. quality therapists. That's better, h-elp.com slash circling back. roll that beautiful day footage Dan comes on the show and you guys don't think about swinging It's a good air That's a good one
Starting point is 00:32:18 Swing over Let's not play golf twice this week The pineapple boys All right Everybody knows day's a Or day is a Malbond guy now As is Blockie As is Freddy
Starting point is 00:32:33 I want to see the Freddy fits That's what I'm interested in How long are we going to give Blockie run I mean, he's going to be a bit for as long as he's around. Eventually, it'll be a deep cut, but for now, it's a... He's got, what, two, three more years to really cash in on that one PJ. His son is, his son's a player, too. He's like, I don't know how old he is, but his son is some sort of amateur golf.
Starting point is 00:33:03 That whole one, though, was truly obscene. It was sick. He blew with the fucking O ring. Yeah. It was bad. It was good, though. I go in? So what do we look at?
Starting point is 00:33:15 out here. I'm just peeping the Tuesday fit. Like it, zoom in on that. Randy, you'd like that shirt. Look at the birds. Yeah, well, I'm loving the birds. So we're bringing up Day, but we're not bringing up Tommy, huh? Interesting. We'll talk Tommy. Just give it a sec. I didn't send that to Randall. Wednesday, we're hitting him with the the fly fishing vest. Is that what we're doing here? That's what looks like. Hell yeah. A lot of visors, huh?
Starting point is 00:33:35 Nothing but visors? He's a visor. Dude, Day, I've always liked Jason Day. He walked by me and, uh, at the Colonial, I think. Me and my dad, we were there. And my dad, he's just by himself on the fairway. And my dad and I were like, the only people around, my dad just hit him with a, you like playing here in the Metroplex. And he goes, yes, sir. And that was the interaction, because I think he had just won the Nelson or maybe it was the other way around.
Starting point is 00:33:57 Anyway, he acknowledged us, which was cool. That is cool. It's cool to be acknowledged. These are some big birds on here. We at least got a cardinal. Randy, that's sick. You need to look into buying this. It's Balbon, so it's probably a $200 shirt.
Starting point is 00:34:09 Those are the only birds you'll see at Augusta. It's true. I don't like I don't like that Are these just alternates here Or would this be an over Is that the rain suit? Wait, what happened?
Starting point is 00:34:22 How did that pop up? I mean, it's just It's two different things Maybe they're expecting cool attempts I guess yeah But they're all short sleeves Maybe it's just an alternate He can't wear that over his polo, right?
Starting point is 00:34:33 No It'd be the same like print kind of Supposed to be chilly next week I don't know I should probably know that before I taught gambling Also, if you wore a a hoodie at Augusta, they might take you out. No, you got to be very, very careful. You want to get invited
Starting point is 00:34:48 back. Don't be peeping in a race. You can't be pissing. You can't be peeping. That guy's on live now. I had to, right? Yeah, he had to get out of town. Pretty sure. Yeah, like, I think Augusta put a fatwa on them. They did. I'm interesting this jacket, this like light blue jacket. This is if he makes the weekend. That jacket's sick. Scroll back, go over two. We're looking at Friday. We know, oh yeah, we're going to see the bird vest. That's sick. So he has a bird hat too, but or the visor. So it looks like that's the one hat he has. It's provocative.
Starting point is 00:35:17 I love it, dude. Malbon, I'm not going to say I'm rocking with everything Malbond's doing, uh, putting out there. But I, they typically get day in stuff that I like. It's stuff that I'm like, damn, I love that. I wish I could pull that off. It's something I would buy. And then when I got it, I would try it on, look at myself and be like,
Starting point is 00:35:35 yeah, I got to send this back. This is not me at all. You're not that guy, pal. I'm not that guy, pal. Yeah, I mean, it's better than the stuff like Hovlin gets run out. or Ludwig has a hat that doesn't fit his head. Yeah, what's going on? He's like a, everybody, he's one of the most handsome guys on tour.
Starting point is 00:35:50 Make him handsome. And they just put this hat on him, like, it's like my first rope hat. They just set it atop his head. And it's like, I guess, just get them like stuff that fits. Please. Who is he? Who is, he's, he's Adidas? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:07 I don't know. Hovlin's Adidas, right? I think he's Adidas. Where is he? Can't keep up. Where's he? Poma. But, uh, Tommy, your boy goes from, you know, getting all the, uh, pro shop hats, pebble, sawgrass. And now he'll be rocking the iconic logo of Blackstone. You guessed it, Blackstone. Okay. Not the grill. Of course. Does anyone have worse press right now than private equity?
Starting point is 00:36:40 Private equity needs a dub. Maybe this is what they thought with Tommy. It's only a matter of time before we get rolled up in private act and they just fire us all and just AIS. There's like a we really need to cut. You'll be compensated. Don't worry. Cut the meat. You'll get a payout.
Starting point is 00:36:57 It won't be much, but you can. Here's a week severance. No, Rainey's, manny gets at least a month. One time I got two weeks. My last job. I don't talk about that. Five years. I got zero.
Starting point is 00:37:11 That was not Grand X for the record. Grand X was very, very nice. Nick Grandex hooked it up. Cashed up my 401. Nothing better. Nothing better than the two week. You're like, really? Kind of moved here.
Starting point is 00:37:23 Anyway. What were we talking about Tommy? Yeah. Do you want to answer for your boy? I thought. Do you and Trond want to apologize? Although I don't want to speak for Tron. Also, I mean, like really with Tron, like, I don't know where my relationship is with him.
Starting point is 00:37:43 he's he's really been a little bit nasty to me privately in text messages about things that I've written lately and you know he owns it he owns his takes no one's ever said he doesn't but yeah i mean Tommy at some point people are going to have to answer for and i don't want to speak for to Tommy i thought i thought he would end up with something better i did i did too i don't know what i don't know what i expected um i do like i think tron had to take that nike might have been holding them back i do agree with that Nike clothing. Nike Clothing.
Starting point is 00:38:15 Nike clubs notably held Tiger back. Famously, very famous. Very famous. I don't know if the clothing holds you back. I don't know. Pull up with a Sasquatch. The fucking square driver. What are you playing?
Starting point is 00:38:30 What's your driver? Don't you have a squatch? I have no clue what it is. You have my hybrid. It's a Callaway something. I don't know. They're all just my dad's club. So I've never actually gone and got like fitted or put more money into.
Starting point is 00:38:41 I put, you know, $200 into. having a sick-ass, you know, golf bag. Aesthetic is what matters. Nobody cares what you shoot. He has like a mace driver cover. He really does. Made it myself. You need to post that.
Starting point is 00:38:55 I did. People probably, because there's a lot of people new here. There's probably a lot of people that found us through the New York slimes. Yeah, to all the stooleys that really want to see my, my medieval golf bag. Follow me. Fun fact, I'd never paid for a golf club. Cowellie?
Starting point is 00:39:12 No, they're all hand-me-downs for my dad. Yeah. He's got about four inches on me, so they're probably not even fitted for me. Your dad's a taller man? He's six-four. I met your dad at the match plane. I don't remember him being that tall. I'm not doubting what you're saying.
Starting point is 00:39:27 He's shrinking a little bit. He's getting older in his age. You know your feet shrink famously? Yes. People forget that. Unless you run a marathon, then they grow. Is that true? You have to worry about that with me.
Starting point is 00:39:37 I think they're swollen. I just don't see a scenario where I'm running a marathon. I don't think I'm doing more than a 5K ever again. No need to. The ultramarathons, what's the appeal of that? Yeah, I'm fucking up my body. Just to say I did it. Taking years off my life, honestly.
Starting point is 00:39:54 That's just, uh, it's just fucking pledship, right? Fuck. Brothers for life. Do Greek week, 2.0? Let's run it back. There's definitely some theme weeks that we, we always say we'll do it in the future. Like, we could just like redo something. Like, Greek week was good.
Starting point is 00:40:11 What was the first one we did? When we started doing this? Wasn't co-worker week. I don't know. Was it Ick week? Was it Fumble Likuchi week? It might have been. It's hard to tell because there was at one point where we were just doing theme weeks on voicemails and then we switched over to making it a Tuesday thing.
Starting point is 00:40:30 I can't remember what the first one was. Yeah. I like theme weeks a lot. I wish we got more. I'll say I'm not trying to call out ladies, but I wish we'd be. got more female calls. We get a couple, but I feel like it's a lot. It's probably some of them it's a little bit more difficult.
Starting point is 00:40:49 They're worried about Sharon, maybe. I don't know. Buddy, I do a history podcast. Not Sharon Osborne. Not a ton of female listenership in that genre. What are we at about 7030? 30. We're like 973.
Starting point is 00:41:08 973. The heater. History FM. I would welcome your female audience. to check out our history show. It's not, you know, that serious. We don't go that deep. Do you find yourself being intimidating for ladies? I don't think so. It's the beard. It might be Rob. Rob's too intimidated. I found that the ladies at the coffee shop we went to before the show, they were really, they were like, very, they were looking at you.
Starting point is 00:41:34 They were like, this guy. He murdered out. He's got the beard. He's framed, he's framed mugging his friend. He's got the tattoo. He's got the tats. I did all the interaction though I was a strong silent type He was See that's even more intimidating It's like what's the story I ordered four damn
Starting point is 00:41:53 Oh really I did yeah I thought he was just gonna double fist I ordered the two biggest cold brews And they're like wow you're a thirsty boy They didn't say that How'd you order it Two large cold bruise piece
Starting point is 00:42:07 If you're new here That's a reference to a video that gets posted on Instagram and Twitter. No, that's actually how Dave sounds. People don't know this. It's just like classic cartoon. That's Simpson's nerd voice. Everyone thinks Dylan deepens his voice? Dave does.
Starting point is 00:42:27 When we do circling back on touching bass, I hate how my voice sounds. It's so monotone. Everyone hates their voice. Do you also hate that you didn't laugh at all? It was a long time I got accused of not laughing. I don't really know Dude I have such a soft bitch voice For a bearded
Starting point is 00:42:45 Yeah that's how he brought you bigger man What's going on with that? Just my voice? Yeah, why is it so soft? I don't know Genetics I guess Or just how I learned to speak Yeah
Starting point is 00:42:56 Honestly I came out of the My mom with the Obelical Quarter around my neck Trying to commit suicide Right off the bat Didn't know I think I spent like a month In the NICU
Starting point is 00:43:08 Is that true? Yeah Didn't you have a twin in the womb that you consumed? I consumed them, yeah. Got that protein in from an early age. Stuffs dog. All those stem cells. Sick.
Starting point is 00:43:24 Did you want to look at the other? Yeah, what was the other one? Oh, Zee. It was Zee. You guys are probably champing it a bit to wonder, what's Masters champion Zach Johnson wearing? He's coming in hot from the champion store. He's already got to win.
Starting point is 00:43:36 He's playing some good golf. What are we thinking about? Maybe Zach Johnson to make the weekend. Like everyone makes the cut. Not everybody. It's like 15 people miss the cut. It's so preppy. I do like the,
Starting point is 00:43:52 No, I like it. See Ralph Lauren? Yeah, it's the horse. Yeah, I do like that. He just got Justin Thomas's old wardrobe. No, that looks good. Now, do you think a sweater tied around your shoulders would affect your golf swing? Yeah, he's not like that.
Starting point is 00:44:08 No, he can't leave that on. Also, like, no one's tying that. Well, remember when Phil rocked a long-sleeved Mizan a Maine shirt? I remember it well. That was Prime Grand X Bullpen. We're like, what's he doing? She's wearing a button down. And he did the video.
Starting point is 00:44:23 This is back when Phil, this is back before Phil was... When he was dodging the balls. Yeah. So that's the video. I like Mizzen a Maine. I've got a lot of Mizzen. Yeah. My favorite...
Starting point is 00:44:34 I met the guy that started it. Came into the studio like a couple months before I got fired. It's a good guy. Which time? Come on, man. No, not Tfm. My last show. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:44:46 Gotcha. Or Dallas Company. Yeah, there are Dallas Company. I like their button downs. This is not an ad. This is just added. This is future added value in case they redrop the bag. That's a good look for Zeech.
Starting point is 00:44:58 Hey, Mizzen. We're looking for something right here. We talked about this yesterday. I mean, you got plenty of space right here for any type of video. You didn't comment on the jersey swap we did. We swapped out Arch for Prime. I like prime. I'm obviously wearing my Eagles hat.
Starting point is 00:45:13 I'm not a Cowboys fan. Be nicer if it was like a Atlanta Falcons prime jersey. Yeah. I think that's where he was at his peak. Most fun. When he played for the Braves, too? Wait for the Braves. People forget.
Starting point is 00:45:26 Nobody forgets that. Michael Jordan also playing for the Wizards. You locked in on baseball now? Or are you just kind of like... No, I'm in. I'm listening. So I'm not watching the games. I am doing what I've done the last...
Starting point is 00:45:40 six or seven seasons i i'm uh i'm a audio i'm a radio broadcast consumer i enjoy that raiders have a or the rangers excuse me have a great uh play by play guy you got uh eric nadel goaded and then you got jared sadler also really good younger um who swap out but anyway they it's really good and i just like listening to it it does i don't have to commit it's on the background radio tv doesn't matter what is great background noise i'm liking the i'm liking what we're doing. I'll follow every game every day. I won't necessarily watch every game. Yeah, yeah. I'd like check the scores, check the box score. Can't. Um, the car, Schwabber went yard. Took two out of three from your Phillies. Did. Um, not, not the best start, but.
Starting point is 00:46:24 Not the best start. Y'all won yesterday. Yeah. Um, yeah, no, I'm, I'm, I'm liking it. I, I'm, I'm being very much like, all right, let's see, let's see. If this pitching rotation holds up, and I think it, it's very deep and it's very good. I think, I think we're looking at a wild card. Tough division, though. Yeah, it's tough. Stroes look good. Mariners. Mariners, too.
Starting point is 00:46:48 Don't sleep on the A's. A's are our second team. Yeah, they are, obviously. Showns to Rooker. People are already sending picks of them. They're like, what should we, we need like a backer thing to yell at Rook when he's like in the on-deck circle.
Starting point is 00:47:02 They're going to just mash and beat teams like 11 to 5. Gorilla ball. But they'll lose a lot of games because it can't pitch. It's like my Texas State Bobcats. We're just, We're just going to hit some home runs, too. When do they move to Vegas? Is that next year?
Starting point is 00:47:14 Two years. Two years. Thank you. I don't really know what's all. I don't like it. No. But what are you going to do? I have to support them.

No. No, I don't want to hear the propaganda. It's a lot.
Starting point is 00:48:42 It doesn't, it's, I'm sure it's not great. It's just, it's a hit piece on him. All right. You want to acknowledge it? Yeah, Jaylon Hertz isn't that good of a quarterback. But it's also like people are talking. Dylan back in the studio. No, it's fine.
Starting point is 00:48:54 He's a good leader. People are talking. He's what we need. Somebody internally is leaking some stuff about him not liking to throw the ball into zone coverage. I'm sure most quarterbacks don't. Is the leak A.J. Brown? Great question.
Starting point is 00:49:09 He was trending yesterday. I think that was the reason why he was trending. Probably right. It hurts the story. Yeah. I don't know. Malcontent. Get him out of our locker room.
Starting point is 00:49:21 Devo wide receiver that drops balls and big playoff spots. He did in the biggest, on the biggest stage possible. Thankful for his contributions to the Super Bowl. But I think your watch has ended. Let's get him in Buffalo. Yeah, I'd like Allen to get him. I just want to see Buffalo pull it through. Me too.
Starting point is 00:49:40 You know I rock with Western New York? Obviously, I'm always going to pull for the Eagles, but I don't want to get to the point where we're constantly winning Super Bowls. Yeah, who would want that? You just don't appreciate it. I think actually Boston sports fans, they kind of lose what it really means to be a fan. I agree. You're a victim of your own success.
Starting point is 00:50:00 Yeah, you get too much. Too much success. Then you're like, I don't appreciate the, you've got to have the sour to appreciate the sweet. You're right. And look, here's the deal. Yang. Well said. Do you have a yin yang tattoo?
Starting point is 00:50:18 I don't. Not yet. I haven't gotten into that. That was a, that was a top three thing to draw on your spiral in elementary school. With the S? The S.
Starting point is 00:50:29 Everyone is called. Peace signs. Yeah, peace signs are big. Those are the top three. That's why we got to get rid of public school because the woke agenda drawing peace signs. Yeah. Can't have kids wanting peace.
Starting point is 00:50:42 not in the Middle East. Facts. I ish. What? I don't know. Unriched or uranium. Smiley faces. You got to get that uranium.
Starting point is 00:50:52 You got to get that heist. We got to fucking send a team in there. But we got to tell everybody like, we're sending to fucking team. You got to tell everybody. And then you also got to do slam poetry. Yeah. Here's the deal. We're getting this.
Starting point is 00:51:01 We're sending the best of the best to get that shit. Okay. Hey, I started a show on Hulu. I don't know if I mentioned that. I started a Paradise. Okay. It's good. I don't like that it's already like into three seasons and I'm just finding out about it.
Starting point is 00:51:16 And like the the subject matter is a post-apocalyptic, uh, rebuilding society with a city and the mountain. Okay. I don't like that it's like, it seems like it's everywhere now all of a sudden. Well, they really slam that interface.
Starting point is 00:51:33 What's going on? Yeah. What are you trying to prep me for? Yeah. You got fallout already two seasons, dude. Yeah. Are they just trying to condition us, Dave? you got to wonder
Starting point is 00:51:41 I mean they've been conditioned Dave and I with you know walking dead for a long time if you work here at Wash Media you might not get air conditioning am I right no seriously no we got it fixed are we doing Alex Jones
Starting point is 00:51:56 that's a that's the thing that's not my full Alex that's partial Alex full Alex is much better but it hurts my throat listen it doesn't take much to win me over but Alex Jones bought me hamburgers once he's good at my book he had an interesting What? Yeah
Starting point is 00:52:10 He had an interesting drunk clip the other day. Let's watch that. Yeah, dude, he actually, that was the old softcore set. That's why I was bringing it up. Yeah, that was Dan's old set that he was on. Tim Pool, like, rented out our set at my old job. And it's very funny to see Alex Jones announced the end of info wars on the softcore history set. Because I was looking at the set because it doesn't have all like the, you know, skeletons, all the stuff you had on it.
Starting point is 00:52:33 But I'm like, I definitely think that's the drinking bro's office. And then you're like, yeah, that's the whole softball set. He's a, you know, he's a neighbor of someone allegedly that we know. Alex? Yeah, I've, I've encountered Alex a couple times. I've never seen him. He's been nice to do. All it takes is to be nice to me.
Starting point is 00:52:53 And you kind of win me over. There you go. I can be bought by hamburgers, apparently. Pete Terry's. Great burger if you're in town. Passing through. Best fast food burger that is. Guy DM me earlier.
Starting point is 00:53:05 New segment, dude. Hang on, my buddy. I also got a DM too. My buddy just backed out of golf tomorrow. Oh shit, dude. Dan and I are going to golf. Golf this weekend, we'll see. I just went 80 yesterday.
Starting point is 00:53:21 I still tried to break 100. I went 97 on Monday and then I went 80 on Wednesday. Hang on. This is a good conversation. Talk about the yin and yang. Guy said long time listener. Zero time caller. But wifey and I are heading to Austin.
Starting point is 00:53:35 Here's the plan. Stay at the Fairmont. Dinner one. Pint House. He says breaky. Is that brecky? He spelled brecky break. Yeah, I guess that's right, actually.
Starting point is 00:53:47 Torchies. Dave Hayes Torses. Lunch, the domain. What's wrong with Torchie? Torchis is perfectly fine. I mean, it's not a place I would. If you're visiting, though, like, yeah, you don't go there.
Starting point is 00:53:57 But you're saying, I got Torchies for lunch the other day because I thought it was going to be funny. I thought these guys were on Flaming and I was recording it the whole time. They just couldn't care less. So I was like, all right, that was a waste. It was not good enough for like the 18. They jacked up the prices. It was like, yeah, I don't think I'll go.
Starting point is 00:54:13 Private equities changed everything. Brunch, either Ada or Paperboy. Lunch, TBD. I like Paperboy. Dinner, okay, dinner two is Matt's, Metal Ranchers. I get it. You got to check it out. It's more environment.
Starting point is 00:54:27 Environment play. I also really like the original El Alama. Yeah, it's kind of. Guest house. Kind of gone downhill. I don't like the salsa. I never have. I don't know if it's new ownership or what.
Starting point is 00:54:38 Like, L. Alma is not the same. Is it new ownership? I don't know. Speaking of new ownership, they're shutting down South Congress Hotel, firing everybody. They'll allow all the employees to be rehired or to apply to be rehired. But they're so Hyatt bought them, I think. And then they're going to shut down and like remodel it. Did they have non-competes? Yeah, it's crazy.
Starting point is 00:55:04 I don't know. But South Congress is always a recommendation I have. If you, hey, to that guy and to anybody's going to be in town in the next couple weeks or next couple months, because you have a little bit of time. If you're on South Congress, great, great hotel bar. One might my favorite maybe hotel bar in town. I really like that spot. And that's sad that they're changing it. Because I think they just renovated it like a decade ago.
Starting point is 00:55:24 It's cool in there. It's a good spot. That wasn't on the runny, but I just wanted to bitch about something. I had someone else reaching out about recommendations to you. Maybe we need to do an updated Austin Rex, but. Yeah, yeah. We can do it now. You go to my favorite bar.
Starting point is 00:55:38 in Austin. Which is? Barnes Springs Swoon. Yeah, you do like that. My buddy Alan owns it. I got a- Tommy, Tommy want wingy, very good wings. Look at this hunk of white trash.
Starting point is 00:55:50 He's got your feet on the table. At least you only have one foot. My knee hurts. I was doing legs yesterday. See, at least he has a reason. Yeah, we get it, dude. You squatted. Look at how big those legs are.
Starting point is 00:56:00 Yeah, I know. I've commented on them. Needs the rest those. Not mine. Heavy, dude. Takes a toll on your body. In lieu of Torchies hit, if you're looking for tacos or breakfast tacos. Taco Deli or Honeyham.
Starting point is 00:56:16 Honey ham, which is in Westlake, so it's probably a little bit out of the way for you. But Honey ham's a great spot. You know how's really good tacos? Any, like, Mexican grocery store. Yeah. Just they have, they always have like a... Did she a fiesta, hoss? Yeah, go to a fiesta.
Starting point is 00:56:32 They always have like a side taco stand. That just is always incredible. I didn't know. Breaking news, Mexican grocery store has good Mexican food. Sounded alarms. Great fajita meat, too. Mm-hmm. I'm trying to think best, like, Mexican or Tex-Mex spot in Austin.
Starting point is 00:56:54 It's not. It's going to be weighted. Like, are you looking for, like, a fun atmosphere? Or just food. Or do you want just food? Like, that's really, really good. Because, like, Matt's is good Tex-Mex. It's not going to blow you out of the world.
Starting point is 00:57:08 water, but it's good Texmac. It's been really good lately. Salsa's been great. Let me see if I can find out of this. Danala can'tina is a great place to just go and get a margarita, maybe two, but their food I never really thought has been that good, but it's a good place to start the night. Be like, hey, let's get a couple of drinks here and then go somewhere. Yeah, again, like I mentioned, El Alam is great. A.T. X. Kucina downtown is a fun dinner spot. Good food. I think it's good food. I think they're doing too much. Drinks are good. Yeah, they are doing a lot. they're doing a little too much trying to make it like fancy. I like Polvos.
Starting point is 00:57:42 Polvos is good. I like the original Polvos. That's a place you walk out of and you're like, because it's kind of dark in there and you walk out. You're like like, like varsity blues and they walk out of strip club and realize they got a game the next day. Yeah. Kind of like that only Mexican food.
Starting point is 00:57:57 What's your favorite barbecue spot? Uh, used to be Valentinas a long time ago. All right, dude. A little barbecue or Terry Blacks. Is La Barbecue still around? Yeah. They've had so much controversy. Those Lesbo still doing it?
Starting point is 00:58:11 Well, barbecue's big, dude. That's where all like, Duolipa went there. All the... Yeah, but they had so much smoke. They had the, I think, insurance fraud. They had the mistreatment of employees. I don't know what happened. Someone caught the fence and steel, like Ted Rusket.
Starting point is 00:58:26 There was some stuff. But they got a Michelin star, didn't they? They did, yeah. Leroy and Lewis also got one, which... I like Leroy and Lewis. Interstellar. Backer, who came in the other day, said they went to Leroy and So they, there will be a line, though.
Starting point is 00:58:41 Except for if you want the burgers, which I still say are the best burgers. You just go to the bar. You go to the bar. It's a good burger. Just drink and get a burger. I mean, honestly, the line at Leroy and this is never back. Actually, Dan, what got brought up like two or three times this week was Brisket Fest. And I said how like you and I left to go to Leroy and Lewis eat and then come back.
Starting point is 00:58:59 Brisket fest. Yeah. Dude, I love Pop Punk and Brisket. Now all I get is emails, even though I've unsubscribed. From Jimmy Eat Briscuit? I know, me too. I don't know how they're doing this. I've reported them a spam.
Starting point is 00:59:11 It's the biggest lie ever. Unsubscribe from mail. Biggest scam ever. Never actually works. It's the biggest lie on the internet. They somehow find a way they text me the other day. There's bigger lies on the internet. Jimmy, Brisket, here you go.
Starting point is 00:59:23 Are you excited to see us? No. We didn't even stick around for them. No. We just watched the Weezer cover band. We're pretty solid, actually. I'm in for a Weezer cover band. As long as they only do the first couple albums.
Starting point is 00:59:36 Say it I say. sound like um it's not how it's i mean it's all right be it neen what was that that was buddy holly it's a great song great video buddy holly's a uh blue album's a great album's a lubbock legend right a lubbock's from lubbock buddy holly the great the late the great died too soon lubbock texas i'd like to make a trip out to lubbock at one point you should go watch a game out there Some kinds of artsy, kind of like how West Texas is pretty. You got Marfa. I'd slow down on the artsy part, but it is cool.
Starting point is 01:00:15 It's cool. I don't know if I would want to live there again. Okay. But it's a fun place, good game environment. How's the golf? Rawls course is a great court. Hard. It's a true test.
Starting point is 01:00:25 Windy? When the native grass is up, it's very, very difficult. But it's a great course that you can play, a public course and great practice facility. Okay. Shout out to the Rawls course. I think it's the pork and beans music video. That is, that's a, that's a one, if you want, a walk down memory lane for all my, my YouTube kids back when they're teenagers. It was like just all the massive, like, YouTube viral videos and they like did a compilation of them like doing all the compilation.
Starting point is 01:00:54 Where did Froggy Fresh pop up? Oh, that was Tosh Point O. He was big on Tash Point O. No, but I'm saying he was big on YouTube. So if you're going to have a YouTube compilation. I wonder if he was in that. I know Teizonday. Oh, Chocolate Rain.
Starting point is 01:01:09 I think the girl that, the guy at this point? No, I think he's still on. No, I think he's alive. Okay. What do you think he does? They're still cash and checks. Does he make, like, guest appearances?
Starting point is 01:01:19 Yeah. He's getting 10K appearances for Chocolate Rain. Chocolate rain. Let's get some shoes. Charlie the Unicorn, like all that stuff was in the Pork and Beans music video. It's a good walk-down memory lane. Let's talk about our weekends in fun presented by Lucy. It is Thursday.
Starting point is 01:01:38 Bro, let's go out this weekend. There's a crazy event happening. I like to turn up. Bro, there's a crazy event happening. We had the party and it was lit. I got yelled out by a prostitute. Let's just go have fun and they'd go with it. Let's go.

Starting point is 01:02:39 chemical uh dan i'll let you start david what you got this weekend well now that your uh your friday seems to be open uh maybe we can get a round a round a golf on the boats no no he's not be around be northbound 35 more of that and just a little bit thanks for spoiling my weekend sorry well just figured i'd uh you do show throw the open invite sorry We will play. Just not Friday. Just not Friday. So, Randy, if you want to play maybe Friday.
Starting point is 01:03:12 Like, you can be interested. We already talked about maybe Sunday. You'll be super frustrated. I'm always excited to play golf with you. It's always so fun. You think you're like, I'm just like, this is how you usually play, Randy. I just don't. Why are you mad?
Starting point is 01:03:24 Because, because I said there's a difference between not being good at something and being bad at something. And I'm bad at golf. And if I'm paying $60 for something to be bad at. You're never paying $60. We're paying $35. Well, either way. Max. I just want to break 100.
Starting point is 01:03:41 That's like not a big goal to like get across. It's all here, dude. It just takes one. I played well last time. It was just at par five twice. You know when you played your best, when I saw you play your best is when you were doing content with Omar and you weren't focused on any of the shots. You just went up hit the ball and then autopilot.
Starting point is 01:04:01 You were focused on creating content. Which was for the post. I did on Instagram at Ray and Trebekie about my golf bag. Between shots, but when you're not thinking about the golf shots, like I did yesterday, right? Like I was in my head on Monday. I was thinking about my swing. Yesterday I went out and just like, you know what? Just grip it, rip it, fuck it.
Starting point is 01:04:18 Just trust you've done the work. And it plays out better. It plays out better than being in your own head with the golf swing. I was on pace to be in the 80s. You were never on pace. When we did the, when I did the, when I did the, No, we did. I think we were going well.
Starting point is 01:04:33 It went par par. 13 holes that day. And like I was, I was doing really well. Like, I was easy broken. Think about bogey golf. And that should be your North Star. Just, nothing more than double. And you're going to be fine.
Starting point is 01:04:45 No triples. Triples is best. It's not. What I've been focused on more, too, is just like hitting greens and two. Doesn't matter. I used to go at every pin. Now I'm just kind of like, you know what? 20 feet's fine.
Starting point is 01:04:56 30 feet's fine. That's my biggest problem. I can't hit the green. Yeah, that's a problem. What else you got, Dan? Saturday's my sister's birthday So she has Like a pool party schedule
Starting point is 01:05:07 So probably gonna stop by that Be catching the Valero Obviously keeping track Always on my phone Looking at it right now Damn smotherment buggy Um Willie Z's actually in the lead right now.
Starting point is 01:05:19 Let's go. Let's get into Augusta. Is Aldo Taurus? Does he need a win? He needs to win. Yeah. God bless. Then Sunday, probably just doing my Sunday ritual of getting ready for my episode for
Starting point is 01:05:31 Software History and we record at night. So usually write the episode Sunday morning, afternoon. And obviously interspice my workouts and, you know, just kind of take care of things for the week. it's kind of like a just an administration day is Sunday I like that that's a good way to refer to it
Starting point is 01:05:51 Randall Hi Dave you want to hear about my weekend Big weekend It's the birthday weekend So it's going to be pretty bleak Yeah birthday Happy birthday
Starting point is 01:06:02 We were supposed to go to the Renfair You were thinking about it But we postponed it another week And you're going to get me to go For your birthday During Master's week I hope you appreciate that
Starting point is 01:06:12 I do appreciate I appreciate that. I'm going Saturday. I'm not camping. I'm staying a maximum five to six hours. Yeah. But I cannot miss Sunday. I want to shout out to Artemis II, the launch.
Starting point is 01:06:26 Got the toilet fixed. We didn't really get talk about that. But there was a back of that reached out that apparently worked on the rockets and stuff too. So shout out to that guy. They fixed the toilet, though, just for the record. They did fix the toilet. It was broken for a time. Yeah, how about that?
Starting point is 01:06:39 We have fans that are rocket scientists. Ain't that cool. So I guess Friday. Have you seen Project Hell Mary? I have. I read it. I listened to the audio book. I know the science isn't good, but I enjoyed the movie.
Starting point is 01:06:51 Amazing. It was good. I think it was pretty. You just mentioned the rocket scientist fans. I'm sure they are kind of pissed about the science in the movie. You got to, did you see we slingshot it around the earth to the movie? Yeah, why didn't we just go in a straight line? Great question.
Starting point is 01:07:09 It's so funny reading those comments. of the people that just cannot tell that Dylan's just trolling them. People love being, those are the Reddit people that are on Twitter. Somebody said I had the personality of a concrete mixer, which, fair enough. That's fine. I'm not forever. Oh, sorry. Sorry, we have blue-collar people.
Starting point is 01:07:28 Yeah, I got blue-collar jeans. But I think the most offensive thing was they compared me to Sam Taylor. And I just- Who's doing this? On our Reddit? Yeah, I saw that. Yeah. Sam Taylor's carved out a nice little niche for herself. Sure, but I don't want to be compared to her.
Starting point is 01:07:43 You'll do very different things. I think you're in very different lanes. Very different people. Yeah. Yeah. You've never filmed yourself putting on deodorant. Why not? You know, I'm going through different deodorants right now.
Starting point is 01:07:56 My body seems to be going through like a hormonal change because the old deodorant doesn't seem to be working. Well, there you go. There's your whole content, just trying different deodorants and just starting every video on she knows. Day three of trying a new deodorant. So anyways, Friday, I'm down to play golf. If we can go get some golf in, I'm not. for that. Even if it's a, you know, a par three course. Yeah, I'm down for that. Definitely go. Go out there and get out about, it's more about the weather. We'll see how rainy it is.
Starting point is 01:08:23 My ex-roommate, that is, he said he's around. He's also going to the run fair with us next week. But he asked me what I want to do. I'm like, I can go do a dinner. I'm thinking maybe Texas Roadhouse. He said, you love trash restaurants. I'm like, yes. Why don't you treat yourself once? Texas Roadhouse is a treat to me. I love those. I love those. We did that a couple years ago. We did it for my anniversary,
Starting point is 01:08:48 but I've been wine and get Texas Roadhouse for a while. Nobody craves Texas Roadhouse. Oh, I do. Those rolls? I am craving those rolls in that cinnamon sugar butter. You can spend $70 at a Texas Roadhouse. Do you try it with the casino butter? It's different.
Starting point is 01:09:01 Not on the rock, though. Not directly on the rock. Don't put it directly on the rock. So maybe you're going to do Texas Roadhouse and otherwise. I'm just going to relax. Well, happy early birthday. I was to be the first.
Starting point is 01:09:12 Thanks. As for me, I'm leaving here, going up to DeVille for Easter. And I'll be there through the weekend. Oh, it is Easter. Playing golf tomorrow. My dad, happy birthday. Just turned 80. He has risen.
Starting point is 01:09:28 Yeah. So, yeah, I'm going to do that. Kind of fun. And that's that. You guys are going to do like an Easter egg hunt for the kids? Have you done that already? Do your candy? There will be an Easter egg hunt.
Starting point is 01:09:39 Or do you go money? I put cryptocurrency in there on a thumb drive. I like that. Yeah. But they have to find the 12 word passcode for it. Yes, they have to. Yes, they do. That's part of it.
Starting point is 01:09:50 And they may never find it, but that's part of the fun. It just gets locked on there forever. Yep. Yeah. Each egg has a different word on it, so they have to find every single egg. That's right. You guys know it. I lost my passcode.
Starting point is 01:10:02 I have like $5,000 just sitting on the drive that I can't access. Oh, damn. If you're new here, no, hey, great week of show of the show. Dan, thanks for coming on. KJ, thank you, Will, thank you. Randy, you're here anyway, but you did some producing this week. Good job. Hey, always a pleasure.
Starting point is 01:10:27 Promote anything you want, softcore history. Yeah, make sure to check out softcore history. We just did an episode on the worst person to ever live. We did a March Madness Bracket. So we did 68 people We did two playing or like We did four playing games So typical NCAA tournament
Starting point is 01:10:45 And then the obvious one seats You had Hitler, Stalin The obvious Khan, Mao How did Vlad the Impaler go? He was a six seat. I think he went to either The second round or third round
Starting point is 01:10:57 But he's kind of He's gassed up too much About Attila de Hunt? Till de Hunt got I mean I don't want to spoil Or Genghis Khan, I think it's one I'm thinking. I always get those two. It's actually Genghis Khan.
Starting point is 01:11:09 Attila the Hun is whoever you want to call it. It's a personal preference. Attila the Hun actually lost in the first round. He had, I think, a hard matchup with Madame Lollah. Where was Alan Dulles on it? Hey, come on, man. Come on, dude. Kissinger's on there.
Starting point is 01:11:24 Kissinger was on it, yeah. A statesman. All right, I got a piece. We've got to go, and I got to hit the road. Bye. So you. Bye.
