Starting point is 00:00:06 Those and metal ranchos Welcome to the show We're back, circling back podcast Wednesday morning How are we doing, chat? My name is Dave Producing the show, Randall Trimbacky. Hi, Dave.
Starting point is 00:00:32 I got my Dave attire on today. What does that mean? It means a hat and a polo. That's so mean. shorts people identify that as the day yeah is that a day yeah all right look we're even wearing the same color hat sure i almost grab that i'm flattered i almost grab that t-shirt today you have this one too doesn't brett also have it we all three you know i have that shirt you just don't wear because you don't want to get mugged that's true does yours have little holes
Starting point is 00:01:05 at the bottom like mine uh no but i could i could poke some in with the golf tea or something i could try that yeah no i mean it's not really a fashion statement it's more of like uh something's gone wrong in our closet moths yeah the light was on is it really moths though i don't know it's not enough to keep me from wearing the shirt i'll tell you that you need to get moth balls then your house will smell like a 98 year old person lives there well if you get we have enough males in there there's got to be some is that your jesus shirt dave because it's whole That's some Catholic humor that you get behind the Patreon. This is the free show.
Starting point is 00:01:46 What are you doing? You're teasing them? You letting them know what's beyond? Dude, we have a tease for the Patreon later, which is hilarious. Honestly, when I woke up this morning, I thought about, I reflected upon yesterday. And I thought about the Restaurant Week episode that we did. Dude. And there was three, there was, every story we had was really good.
Starting point is 00:02:08 But there was like two or three that I was just like. I'm not going to lie. What the fuck? My expectations for that episode were fairly low compared to ones we've had. And maybe my favorite that we're done. It was shockingly funny. You're going to have to tune in. You can try it free for a week.
Starting point is 00:02:29 To everybody who found us from noted viral tweets or Instagrams, we have a Patreon as well. You can't get enough. If four shows for an hour at a time during the week for free, if that's not enough, if you want to see what we're really about, you want to see this little Catholic guy over here doing his Catholic humor. It's really good. Notting along as long as a big Catholic guy.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Then you could go beyond the paywall. Restaurant week, drop yesterday. What a treat. We'll talk more about it later. Don't you ever. The French laundry? Someone went to the French laundry. We will talk more about it later.
Starting point is 00:03:05 What some shit popped off at one of the nicest restaurant in the country? One of. Anyway, I'm happy to be here. She, uh, the young lady in that. that story who was not the one who mailed it in the guy's wife, direct message us to give us a little more intel. Oh. Oh.
Starting point is 00:03:21 Okay. She herself, she, she, she was a puker in that situation. I don't want to, I don't want to spoil it. Just puke city. Anyway, man. Mr. Puk himself, Dylan Shivry. Stoke to be here. Don't you say like you've never puked before or something?
Starting point is 00:03:36 I didn't say that, but it's been about, it's been about 20 years. 20 years since I had to throw up. I just don't puke, man. It's been a long time. I think the last time I did. I remember there was one time in high school, I definitely puked because it was the morning after a party. Then I had two sausage meat muffin with eggs,
Starting point is 00:03:56 and it was just too much from my stomach, and I threw up then. But that was, you know, that's high school. I think in college I threw up again, or like right after. Throw your hands on the side and said you're crazy. But I don't even think it was from drinking. Shut off.
Starting point is 00:04:12 I don't even. thing goes from drinking it goes just sick do that's sick that's so sick it's because you don't you don't go hard but people throw up for reasons other than alcohol consumption you know you do know that i mean i just don't bomb dog i don't know i'm just different you have uh there's there's escape hatches. Your gut always chooses the lower one. It does. It does.
Starting point is 00:04:43 But even that's pretty infrequent. I say always, not like he constantly has. No, I don't, yeah. But he did notably miss some pods this year for a butt virus. I got the Cabo virus. Yeah, brought something back. It's been, 20 years, I had to throw up. That's so stupid.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Why'd you bring that up? That's pretty dumb. Yeah. Yeah. I didn't even hit Aria time on that one. Didn't that group go to Purdue? Bare naked butts? Bear naked ladies?
Starting point is 00:05:15 Bear naked, bear naked brothers running around the frown house. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Getting paddled by their brothers for life. Those guys, to be clear, the guys that Rady's fraternity, they were paying for that. That action, they were getting paid. They were paying each other bear butt spank. Because they got skunked in a game of cornhole. At rush, like, you're the guys who spank bare bottoms, right?
Starting point is 00:05:39 Because I want to sign up to that. Oh, that's us for sure. People have said that this is a common thing amongst for turkeys. Oh, we definitely do do that, yeah, if you want to hop in. There's more to it than that. But yeah, that is some stuff that goes on. But that's definitely something that we do. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Just don't get skunked. We've all had it, yeah. It's a punishment for poor athleticism is what it really is. All right. Either way, your bare bottoms are getting pummeled by some dudes. Just crumbled. And I crumpled his bear butt bashing time. It might be time to revisit that video at some point.
Starting point is 00:06:13 The pastor? Yeah. He crumpled a kid by punching him in the chest and he showed him God that day. Yeah, brought him to God. I showed him God that day. Wow. Randy and I could not relate. Our priest never punched us in the chest.
Starting point is 00:06:31 Not making those Catholic jokes right now. Or did he? Or did your priest punch you in the chest? Nope. Nope. I don't think this pastor was Catholic. I think he was, he was like one of those cool guy pastors.
Starting point is 00:06:43 We don't have cool guy priests. No. Our priests typically are kind of intimidating. Mm-hmm. You just crumpled a kid. I just crumpled him. And he even gives you like a, that's a salt, brother.
Starting point is 00:06:58 He brought him to God, so not really. All right. Oh, what else? Hey, hit the Haas line. 877-35-2-4-6-77 leave us a voicemail. Got a ton to go through. We're going to record listener voicemails, which is our other option on Patreon.
Starting point is 00:07:17 You can listen. That'll come with the, that's like an entry-level Patreon, listener voicemails drops on Friday. Check it out. But on Tuesday, we dropped some stuff. Yesterday we dropped theme week,
Starting point is 00:07:30 restaurant week, the aforementioned. It was a bad sales job. I said, we dropped some stuff. What? trying to entice people. We had a great episode. Drop some stuff back there, so I guess he'll check it out.
Starting point is 00:07:44 Oh, there are some stuff getting dropped on the floor. Shut out, Misty. Yeah. What a time that was. Tell you what, after a long day, a podcast, and I like to go home, fire up my old peppermint tea and have a little early bird CBD drop in it. Oh, I do too.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Did you do that yesterday? No, I don't do peppermint tea. I just drop into some chilled water. Early bird CBD. they've got the drops now that they've had the gummies we've been promoting the gummies for like seven years now but the drops are new hemp derived water soluble tincture formulated each serving of drops contains roughly 2.5 milligrams of t hc 12.5 milligrams of CBD can mix them in with any beverage seamlessly yes zero cows zero sugar which is huge no one's like no one's trying to bump their sugar at
Starting point is 00:08:32 night i'm not so that's why it's huge for me you can fine tune it with the dropper format Right dose for any moment. I don't always go full dropper. Sometimes I go quarter. Sometimes I go half. And that's fine. That's your choice. Unfavored.
Starting point is 00:08:45 Slight tart, earthy taste, just like the plant they're made from. Load up the cart. Try out the gummies. Try out the drops. The gummies are my favorite, but the drops have become, they're right there now because I'm doing them on stressful nights. I do them with the peppermint tea, as I said, and they're great. I do the gummies.
Starting point is 00:09:04 Just for the sleeping benefits alone. The gummies, I mean, the drops to, same, same formula, as we stated. Take a gummy for you go to bed. You are going to sleep so well. Get 20% off your order with code washed at earlybird CBD.com to single use code, 20% off code washed at early bird CBD.com. Go check them out. They are the best in the game.
Starting point is 00:09:29 You want to just talk bonus restaurant week content? Sure. We had somebody yesterday. I'm not going to give the game away, but we do have some. somebody who worked at a restaurant that used to be frequented by someone who worked here. We could just share the name of the restaurant. Just, I'm getting there. I'm painting a picture.
Starting point is 00:09:51 It's a burrito place. He doesn't eat there anymore because he doesn't eat lunch that often. Brett used to go to Chipotle a lot, is what I'm trying to say. And somebody called in unrelated to Brett going to Chipotle. He used to work at Chipotle back in the day. And he had a Chipotle story. It's an email. Or was it a call?
Starting point is 00:10:11 There's a call. It was a call. It was a good one. Go listen to it, but he had a follow-up, and we'll share it here because we're not going to go back and, like, add it to the restaurant week episode. But it's from Charlie. Randy, I'll let you read it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:10:25 Misty, it was his manager at this Chipotle. So bonus Misty story. She worked the grill a lot and would often drop in air quotes here, real quotes on the comment, a grilled chicken thigh on the floor so she couldn't serve it and would just eat. in like two bites, called it a dog treat. Laugh my ass off. She's the main character of this story. She's not the worst thing she did.
Starting point is 00:10:54 Yeah, based on the call from yesterday, this is, no, it's not. It's not even close, but it is egregious. Like, I'd rather her just take the chicken and eat it and be like, oops. Don't drop it on the floor first, you know? You're the manager. Who's going to report?
Starting point is 00:11:14 you. Yeah. And just try to do it when no one's looking. What she did, I'm serious. I know we're, we're really selling, trying to sell people on this, but like what she did to get out of working for a time is, it's hilarious. It's just something that you know happened because you can't make this all. It's preposterous. Proposterous. That's Misty for you. Lily C also said that the Rubin was immaculate for the record. Another story. That was maybe my, okay, the Chipotle story and the Rubin story is maybe my favorite because it's it's it's preposterous in a different way.
Starting point is 00:11:57 It is like a why did you? The sequence of events. We've all been in this situation. And the fact that he chose to engage. Right. In the restaurant, he was trying to just do a do some business at. It's just crazy. But he said the Rubin was immaculate.
Starting point is 00:12:23 So check it out. Restaurant Week was just hilarious. I feel like we didn't even touch the service of, like, people who, people have more restaurant stories. You know what? If you have them, keep sending them. Don't think just because we did it, it's done. I'll either, we'll either incorporate them into voicemails
Starting point is 00:12:39 or people will just do another restaurant week. Because that stuff is so funny to me. I wouldn't mind a honorable mention, like December, Patreon, where like all the additional stories that we got because you always say that like we could do a whole other cringe week we'd do another coworker roommate week we should just maybe just have one at the very end
Starting point is 00:12:59 it's like these are some stories that we get to. Yeah. Yeah, it could be a phone. Could be. It was electric, man. It made me feel better about my not storied career, not so storied career at subway.
Starting point is 00:13:15 Because like people probably think, oh man, there was just a bunch of high school kids working in a subway like i bet they were like doing all sorts of stupid shit like we really weren't we like by no means was i a good employee but i wasn't like fucking with the food um the worst thing was like when it wasn't crowded would be like just making custo sandoes yeah and like get you have get real weird with it did you have free reign to just make whatever you want you whatever you want you were you were allowed like one i believe we were allowed like
Starting point is 00:13:45 one six inch uh a day okay You can relate. You can go custo on it. There's two chairs. One chair has a cake on it. Yeah, we would just go. I mean, most of mine were like, all right, let's see what's up with this. Let's do the meatball, the meatball sauce, the tomato sauce, and let's just get weird.
Starting point is 00:14:04 Let's see what kind of crazy shit we can come up with. We did. It was fun. I did have someone show me, you take the chicken breast one. You take the marinerer from the meatball and like a pepper jack cheese and have that toasted. And then you make a sandwich out of that. It's pretty good. It's kind of like a chicken parm, but not really.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Can I, can I, can I date myself here? I'm pretty sure we didn't even have the toasting option at Subway when I worked there. No, I swear. Really? Subway has not always been a place you could get your stuff toasted, if I'm not mistaken. I could be Mandela affecting it or Occam's Murphy's law affecting it. But I believe we did not have the toast option. I feel like they did Subway introduced that after like,
Starting point is 00:14:48 fucking Quiznos started to like catch up to him or something even though Brett's mustard forward now mm-hmm mm-hmm go ahead think parsed through it pull that thread think about what I did there okay not good yeah it's not good
Starting point is 00:15:04 it's not great he is mustard forward though which I still don't understand what that means we would microwave sandwiches still I'm not I'm not kidding in microwave if people wanted something that sounds right yeah like the subway that was in my neighborhood
Starting point is 00:15:18 the year 2001 yeah It would hit in the micro real quick. This was pre-9-11, Randy. I remember someone told me they went to subway and then they asked like the worker like, how was the grilled chicken? And the subway worker just looked at him and said, do you see a grill back here? He goes, okay. Fair enough.
Starting point is 00:15:38 I think I might have got out right when they introduced chicken terriacchi. Which was kind of a game changer. It was pretty solid. For subway, you're like, oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's good because I've exhausted all of the other options here in my quest to be healthy. There was a time where, like, people would go there being like, this is, this is, if I go to subway, a few times a week, this is how I lose weight. I'm going to be healthier.
Starting point is 00:16:06 Not realizing that, like, a lot of that sucks. Yeah. Like the chicken terriaki, I think the original sauce was like, close your ears. Very, very sugar intensive. Of course. Yeah. Of course. Which is why it was probably the best thing on the venue.
Starting point is 00:16:20 a very sugar conscious back in those days you weren't sugar conscious at 18 years old no i wasn't i would get a a a foot long meatball on wheat with with a sugar cookie that was my that was my order the cookies weren't good no i would i would in private i would i would direct friends away from it because yeah i didn't care though i like the raspberry cheesecake cookies those were good was that something we had yeah yeah eventually okay said we like he's still subway guy jimmy john's cookies are fucking good though i never collected a pension you did it no i was left off the schedule wasn't formally fired you ain't on it but they didn't even have the the respect to call and tell me i got offered a promotion once at a when i
Starting point is 00:17:12 lifeguarded at uh valente beach after i was i office spaced it like the last like two weeks i was there i'd stop coming in and i still got offered promotion because i was just an outstanding employee before that how many people died on your watch or your non-watch no zero because like they just didn't have a life card because you no call no show yeah i was like i just not going to come in it was the end of the summer and i was i was burnt out well what's the promotion at lifeguard like team leader like you i would get to manage like four or five life guards looks good on a resume sure Yeah. How old were you? I was about 16, 17.
Starting point is 00:17:58 You can't have a 16 or 17 year old being a team leader. I'm just going to tell people that right now. No. This was for the next summer, though. They wanted me to step up. Okay. What is Valenti Beach? Valenti Beach is a water park on Lake Travis.
Starting point is 00:18:15 It's pretty badass. Actually, it's not like a Schlitterbond. It's not that big, but they have like a bunch of different slides and rides and stuff. And it's on the lake. So there's a lake component as well. It was cool. Is the water lake water you're running through there? No.
Starting point is 00:18:32 Okay. I don't believe so. What are you looking up, Randall? Images of Valenti Beach. Oh, wow. That's kind of dope. Yeah, it was cool. Cool spot.
Starting point is 00:18:43 The big ride introduction at the Wet and Wild, aka Hurricane Harbor in Arlington. was the Bubba Tubb. It was a thing called the Bubba tub. It was a huge tube, circular tube, that you could fit like 12 people in. And you just went down this slide. It wasn't like, it was, in reality, it was all name. It was all branding.
Starting point is 00:19:04 People are like, dude, you got to ride the Bubba tub. It's just fucking so fun. Look up the Bubba tub. There was the bubble tub, the black hole. That was the one that was like real intimidating. Yeah, there's the bubble tub. Not really that cool. It doesn't look that cool at all.
Starting point is 00:19:20 No, it's not. It was just new. It was something new. So people would wait in line for like 45 minutes just to do it. I get it. Yeah. The Der Schuke. It's like the master bluster at Schlitterbond. Which one's the master blaster? The master blaster is you get in a big tube similar to that one. Okay. But it was, you went like uphill and down. It was like a roller coaster. There was a net over so you could fly out. It was pretty sick. That was water park talk. What, Randy? You look like you want to say something.
Starting point is 00:19:54 No. I'd like to say something real quick about poncho outdoors. Please do. It's time to start taking your closet seriously. It's time to start upgrading your wardrobe. You don't have to say the word wardrobe. Just get you some cool-ass shirts. So it's like the first day, neither of us are wearing a poncho.
Starting point is 00:20:15 I know. I almost went three days in a row poncho. I decided to mix it up. I did too. They're performing shirts for guys who actually go outside. But now you look, yeah, go outside. You go out and fish. You go to the ranch, clear some brush, all that stuff.
Starting point is 00:20:29 Yeah. Or just go outside and like hit ground balls to your kid. I wear my poncho for that as well. I wear it all the time. I wear it to fly. They have the lightweight hoodie, which you wore yesterday. They have the original shirt, which is the button down, the short sleeve or a long sleeve with that fabric that's like stretchy but not overly so.
Starting point is 00:20:47 Yeah. It's great. Yeah. The Western shirts are my favorite, like, non-summer shirt in my closet. Yeah. They're fantastic. They've got the regular.
Starting point is 00:20:56 They've got the Pearl Snap Western version, like you said, the Marfa, which is the lightweight, denim that we have. They're lightweight, breathable. They dry in minutes. Loaded with little details, a hidden zippered pocket, a sunglasses holder, even a built-in lens cloth for your shade. Once you order one, you'll probably order five more. Go check out the t-shirts.
Starting point is 00:21:13 People sleep on the t-shirts, not me. They're great. The hats, too. Go to poncho outdoors.com slash steam. Enter your email. get $10 off and free shipping on your first order. That's P-O-N-C-H-O-Outdoors.com slash steam. Head there.
Starting point is 00:21:26 Drop your email in, get $10 off and free shipping. Once you try one, you'll get while we have a closet full. Dylan, Dylan doing some numbers on Twitter. Yeah. Well, C.J. Stroud reported for camp. Big year for him. Houston Texans third-year quarterback had a pretty great rookie season. Sophomore slumpish.
Starting point is 00:21:49 Yeah, it was called. a sophomore slump. This is his third season, right? I believe it is. Third or fourth. He reported to training camp looking like a... I don't even know what you call this. He doesn't necessarily look out of shape. He's just walking like someone who...
Starting point is 00:22:04 I don't know. He looks like a kid walking up to high school. He walks like he's never played a sport in his life. Is this the gloop? Somebody added the music. No, I have the glip ready, though. It was just a very non-athletic stride. He really doesn't look great.
Starting point is 00:22:24 in this five-second walk. He also cut his hair. This isn't a long. He is walking gloopy. It's a gloop walk. It looks like he's got too much in his pockets also. He's over-pocketed here. Like he's got a phone wallet,
Starting point is 00:22:42 clearly not a Ridge wallet. Maybe like a flashlight or something in there. I don't know. Just too much going on. And the way, I don't know, he just looks. Just to oversized white tea in the long basketball shorts. This looks like a junior on his first, junior and a half. high school. Yeah. Pulling up. This is like when your mom lets you dress yourself for the first
Starting point is 00:23:00 time before school and you're just like, I'm just going to throw a t-shirt and basketball shorts on. Which I kind of respect. He's not like trying to like, you know, make a fashion statement showing up to camp like some guys would do. I guess camp's a little different than, you know, game one when they really, they really show out. Cowboys, Steelers, Super Bowl t-shirt. I like it. Like Aaron Rogers, Aaron Rogers would show up. He, He made some statements with his training camp arrivals sometime. Didn't he show up as like, didn't he do like a knit cage? Remember he had the long hair?
Starting point is 00:23:34 He showed up in the wife. Yeah. Pleaser. That's right. Didn't he show up in a hot air balloon? I don't think so. What? He didn't, but someone, someone did I.
Starting point is 00:23:48 Was it Antonio Brown? Antonio Brown, yeah. Is that true? Yeah, he showed up in like a hot air balloon. Okay. That's two, those two references I said past that. You guys just didn't know. You guys didn't know about Gruden hitting quarterbacks with pool noodles either.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Why do I know these little small stupid things? He hit like one guy with a pool noodle. It was fucking hilarious. Tony O'Brown arrived at the Oakland Raiders' 2019 training camp in Napa Valley. By the way, dope place to have training camp. I feel like in a hot air balloon. I feel like that's the definition of a distraction. Pulling up in the hot air balloon.
Starting point is 00:24:20 He said, float like a butterfly, sting like A.B. When he pulled up. I don't know if you spell Antonio right there. I also didn't spell balloon right either People forget David Blaine just floated through the air holding on to many balloons
Starting point is 00:24:34 Let me see if I can find this Yeah C.J this is kind of a big year for him They haven't paid him yet Right so he's a Rookie contract is what four years First round pick So
Starting point is 00:24:52 Ends last year Not good at all playoff loss. It was really bad. It was really bad in the playoff wins too. I don't know. I had nothing against C.J. Stroud, but the falloff has been kind of crazy. And this doesn't instill confidence in you.
Starting point is 00:25:08 No. When people are putting the gloop music behind you, just walking. Like when you're already getting, like, not even like your highlights, not even game tape. It's just you walking into a building and you're getting smoked for it. It's a tough way to start the season. That's one that shouldn't have got put out by the season. the way that's really on the social team there you got to know you got to know like you can't have qb1 looking looking gloopy walk no it's the leader of the team he's got he's got a top
Starting point is 00:25:40 six seven receiver nico collins he's dope badass he is got a good team good defense great dahl back he had a nasty injury last season i don't know if he's ever like fully back he's the that's too bad he had like the really grotesque need yeah it was tough man yeah i don't know apologies to him you hate to see it accurate What do you got, Randall? I was just looking it up. He just kind of lands. For some reason, I thought he had landed on the field, but he didn't end.
Starting point is 00:26:07 It just, it's a nice video. It's like actually well done, but I don't know. You respect the videomanship? Yeah, I do. But I definitely thought that he landed like in the stadium, like, and the hot air balloon. But no, he just was in a hoppet. Who's a coach of the Raiders that year? And like, how bad was he like, he knew whoever it was.
Starting point is 00:26:28 because it was a Raiders coach, probably like on a hot seat. And he's like, God, we just need to have like a good camp, no distractions. And he's like, where's Brown? It's like, uh, sir, he's his hot air balloons about eight minutes out. Oh, my God. He's, he's somewhere over San Francisco. It's always a receiver. What's up with receivers?
Starting point is 00:26:50 He's floating in. Yeah. Fucking modest mouse over here. Slow down. Raiders leadership. now, man, they got that Kubiak over there. About to do big things. Hey, what are we going to do at QB1? Who's the guy? I don't know, man. We got Kirk Cousins. We got Fernando Mendoza, top overall pick. Is that going to be the most cordial quarterback battle ever? Hey, good luck to you out there.
Starting point is 00:27:18 Hey, great day. No, you know, it was a really great day. I watched you, man. Your timing looked great. Your footwork's looking really good. It's all about footwork. I don't know that. I didn't recognize a single one of their starting receivers, by the way. We pulled up their their offensive debt chart earlier. I don't know who they're throwing to. Yeah. But I guarantee no one pulls up in the hot air balloon. That's kind of awesome.
Starting point is 00:27:40 That is awesome. Like if you're a nose tackle, you can't really do that, you know. You got to be a receiver. You think there's a weight limit? No, just because, like, you're not, you're not, that's not a showy position. Do you ever look at weight limit things on like water slides or elevators and stuff? And you're like, man, I wonder if anybody ever is like, I don't know. Like, you know, I has to think twice.
Starting point is 00:28:00 and then they just get in anyway? No, I don't really have that thought. Okay. Yeah. It's usually like 2,000 pounds, right? I mean, I've seen some things where it's like, it's just weight limit for this is like 250, which there's a lot of,
Starting point is 00:28:14 there's plenty of people, especially in Texas. Mm-hmm. Big folks. Big state, a lot of food. That are above 250. Sure. So, like, there's like water slide at
Starting point is 00:28:27 whatever park we were at recently. And I was like, that's like you got all the way up here and you're like ooh and you don't it puts the lifeguard in a tough spot you don't be the person that tells them sir um i don't know if this applies to you but like it's marginal we're flirting with it yeah i've never seen it combo i've never seen anybody like get hurt you know damaged by the tube but you never know a fear of mine was getting stuck in the water slide as a child that always seemed really scary i've definitely have seen people have to get kicked off of a roller coaster because of lap bar when I go down.
Starting point is 00:29:05 Yeah, that's definitely a thing. Yeah. Once we became like water park independent or like, you know, able to go around and like me and the boys, you know, when once like we'd outgrown the fun of the water park and then our goal, our objective became to like, hey, let's go do like kind of bad shit at the water park. The move was to like put your hands out and slow down and stop and wait for your boy to come down. and then just go all the way down the tube,
Starting point is 00:29:31 like three dudes deep, and get to the bottom and the life car's like, what the fuck? I don't, what are y'all doing? I don't know what happened, dude. We just, we just all went down together.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Those are the days. For me, I guess. Yeah. You shithead teenager, making them, everyone's life hell. After about 14, you probably don't need to go to water parks anymore.
Starting point is 00:29:59 You don't really need to be like, 17 year old at the water park, right? Unless you're there with like a little brother or family member. I don't know. I kind of want to go to water park soon. What's more, what would be like, what's more questionable being like really into amusement parks
Starting point is 00:30:15 and like riding roller coasters and stuff or being really into the water parks? The water parks inherently seedy because it's bathing suits and stuff. I would say water parks. Yeah. There's a lot of roller coaster enthusiasts out there. I mean, I love a roller coaster.
Starting point is 00:30:28 I showed, Rhodes was asked, we were looking at reels yesterday. I was showing them, I was showing some baseball ones. I saw Corey Seeger's on a rehab assignment in Frisco. He had a really a great, a great play at short. I was showing roads.
Starting point is 00:30:40 And then I really rolled a dice and just swiped up blindly. And it was a roller coaster video for some reason. So we watched a lot. He goes, dad, is there I need to have loops? And I was like, so, yeah. Buddy. There's roller coasters with loops, bud. There's loops that go this way and then there's loops that go that way.
Starting point is 00:30:59 I showed him the Mr. Freeze at six flat. Legs Arlington. Then I showed him, I tried to show him some ones that I grew up on, like the shockwave up there that had like two loops. Real basic, just loops. And he was like, Dad, I want to go ride these. I was like, God, there's going to come a time where I have to actually go ride these with them. And I don't know if I'm built to handle it. I used to love them. I'm going to Fiesta, Texas soon. Maybe even this weekend. We'll see. When are you? Wait, why? There's talks about maybe going to San Antonio, but I doubt if we did, we would do Fiesta, Texas. I want to maybe go for Fryefeld.
Starting point is 00:31:32 this year you guys ever get served these AI slop videos of a like a point of view on a water slide or some kind of like amusement park ride and then you just fly off and just plummet to earth that like simulates a bad dream you ever have those no I have dreams like that I've had I've had water slide dreams like that they freak me out you're the biggest mark for AI like they never seen you've seen AI AI AI has its side sets on you. You've seen these. I probably have, but it just feels like you get served a disproportionate amount of AI slot. They know I love slot, man. Yeah, they got you. Yeah, I was born in it, though. When it comes down, like, when shit pops off, like, you're going to face a choice.
Starting point is 00:32:19 What do you mean? You are, you, you, you are going to have the opportunity to go with the AI and be, maybe and get some neurolink in your head and go full cyborg or go get cast away with the rest of us. Okay. Yeah, I'm not going to be a neuralink guy. You say that, Dan. But I appreciate some entertaining slop every now and then, yeah, that's true. I don't like these videos of the guy falling off of the water slide that for some reason is like 500 feet in the air. But I watch it. You just want to see how it ends. Yeah, it usually cuts out right before he hits pavement. Just like in a dream. Just like in a dream. Yeah. Well, they answer your question.
Starting point is 00:33:02 Someone said their 6-9 buddy got turned down on the amusement party all the time. Someone said they're 340 and they have to think about that stuff all the time, Dave. So you're right. People do think about it. Apparently that Antonio Brown was a hard-knock season. Okay. I should have known that. That's why he did it.
Starting point is 00:33:20 You ever had a 6-9 buddy turned down on a water slide? I haven't. Got a lot of tall backers. Tandum tube. Tandum tube. You could probably do it. It's always awkward because the guy in the back has to have his legs kind of open. Person's almost like sitting like, you know what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:33:41 That's why you hit that position. No. The big move for us was to just pop out of the tube and just go down it without it. And the tube would fly out first. And then we'd come like popping out. And they're like, again, like with the lifeguard, just some like 15 year old making like 8.50 an hour like, man, are your parents like even here? did your dad do the thing where he dropped you off and went and sat up poppacitos? Unless it was Dylan.
Starting point is 00:34:06 He would just not show up to work. There's no lifeguard. The guy just said, yeah, I can just not show up anymore. Not even a quiet quit. Just like a very loud event. I didn't let him know. I just didn't show. Emphatic quit.
Starting point is 00:34:18 And it went completely under the radar. They didn't realize it. They probably offered you that promotion because you were in good shape because you've been using FitBod. Are we sure Tony was hammered? We've all seen the video by now. Yeah, I've seen it. It's very long. It takes place at two locations. I'm watching it. I'm watching it as a, I'm not a Tony Romo Stan. I definitely defended Tony for most of his career, however. I like the guy. Why wasn't the field sobriety test? Because they were on a bridge and she didn't want to do it there.
Starting point is 00:36:11 Got it, got it. Has to be in a field. Okay. I think it's good. It's good. The crowd's quiet today. It didn't blow, right? Pardon?
Starting point is 00:36:22 He didn't blow? No. No, he didn't. There's a lot. You can tell he doesn't have a lot of experience with this because he just immediately is like, they're like, sir, step out of the car. He's like, hang on a sec. I'm going to call my lawyer.
Starting point is 00:36:36 Which you don't get to just like pause the traffic stop to call the lawyer. Ooh. He doesn't have that pool. He can't go call the president. That was, yeah, that's the problem. Honestly, I bet that he is only, I think the next best thing to calling the president if your Romo is calling Jim Nance. Because Jim Nance can get you the president, almost guaranteed. If I'm a cop stopping Tony Romo, I'd rather talk to Nance and to Trump on the.
Starting point is 00:37:06 phone you know well n n trump was a little busy uh tapping on lindsay graham's casket just giving it the little uh my buddy just a little pat on the head on the casket rest easy pal uh stand you cancel uh calling the president uh calling jim nance or facetiming vrabel didn't ever seen you do that she would face time the the favorite coach or the coach of the favorite team of the officer that stops. Gotcha. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Which could have been Vrabel.
Starting point is 00:37:40 I have no desire to FaceTime Vrabel, but I do want to do, I stand calling Jim Nance. That's just the guy you want to hear. He's never, he's never had a sentence uttered that didn't sound pleasing to the ears. Even if he doesn't, what he says is slop, even if you don't really like him, you have to acknowledge. Yeah. You know what I mean? he's like a good uh he's like a jazz musician like a good one like you have to respect like you may not
Starting point is 00:38:08 like all of his songs but like you listen to it and you know like the musicians on this song are operating at a high high level he does commentary on the golden tea machine too how much did they pay him for that that seems a little bit um i don't know beneath him doesn't it no no you're right not at all uh but yeah though watching the video it's it's definitely not Tiger rolled the car level. Honestly, like, I feel like he sounds better than he does on a lot of, like,
Starting point is 00:38:42 on a lot of Sunday afternoons. Like, there's been plenty of Sundays. Sorry, I've got like this hair in front of my, it's probably my stupid eyebrow. Uh, there's been a lot of,
Starting point is 00:38:50 like, games you watch and you're like, is Tony fucking, is he on a perk? Like, what is, what's going on? Yeah,
Starting point is 00:38:56 he does kind of have that. He does not really sound like that here. Yeah, he sounds with it. He's respectful with the, officer officers um she didn't know who he was right didn't seem like it um i mean should i play some of the audio no because there's like a lot of it yeah there's not even know where to like very long videos but i will say like the the highlights if you're going to have highlights from your
Starting point is 00:39:24 dw i o w i stop uh it's him setting up the camera on the back of his car uh bumper to record him doing what he thought on the bridge was going to be field sobriety tests. So that was just really funny to me. You don't see that very often. Obviously, him warming up when they get him to the next location to do the tests, the stretching and whatnot, is hilarious. Her just assuming he'd been drinking because he was coming from the golf course, just a little bit of a leap. I mean, I get it. And he tries to explain to her in non-condescending tone, like,
Starting point is 00:40:05 this wasn't like me playing like a charity scramble. Yeah. This wasn't me like playing Kaiser with this. There's an actual tournament. Like this is one you don't, you're probably not drinking. You know, I'm carrying my own bag during this amateur competition. So he just, he put a few back after and like in the clubhouse. Did he?
Starting point is 00:40:26 I mean, is that? I don't know. That's the time frame that, you know, in which. which he would have. Yeah, I mean, probably, because he almost assuredly wasn't drinking. Would it shock me if he took like a, because Tony's body's been through it, as we know, if he took like some kind of pain pill afterward and then, you know, that would not shock me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:47 But I don't know. I don't know what the move is here because we've talked about it. Like the penalty on this, it's like a small fine and it's very, very minor in Wisconsin. Does he even like lawyer up and fight it like fight the traffic stop? Like did they even have like suspicion to pull him over and pull him out of the car and do all these tests? Lawyer, criminal defense lawyer might say, well, this is really good tape for us. They're not going to want to take this to trial. Is he going to want to?
Starting point is 00:41:16 That was the question. Another question I heard put forward. Does CBS want out? Like they might use this as a as a lever to pull to get him out? Yeah. Is he, he started off extremely popular. He did. He was explaining things in the game that, you know, the average fan wouldn't pick up and
Starting point is 00:41:40 like, oh, that's fucking interesting. He can, he knows what's happened. He seems to have got lazy. There's a lot of times watching him that it doesn't seem like he, he watches a ton of film on these teams that he's doing. And that he's kind of just going off of like what he knew a decade ago. He hasn't played it. didn't, you know, he, his last year in the NFL was like 2015, 2016. So it's like the game has
Starting point is 00:42:06 changed a lot. That's a decade, right? He doesn't know. I mean, the players have changed out. There's still some people, you're right, obviously, but like, it's no, he no longer has that, like, unique ability to like be like, oh, yeah, this guy, I know this scheme. I, we played these guys. I know this, this and this. So it's like, it kind of feels like he got real lazy after those first couple years. Also heard it pointed out that, like, you know who's out there and potentially available is Greg Olson.
Starting point is 00:42:36 Greg Olson was the number one guy on Fox. Greg Olson is no longer the number one guy on Fox because of Tom Brady. Greg Olson took a pay cut when Tom Brady came around. Greg Olson was making 10 mil, because he was on the 18th. Then he got bumped to Tier 2 or Tier 3, probably Tier 2.
Starting point is 00:42:55 He's making like 3 mil a year. year. Oh. And his contract allows for him to, if he finds a better, an 18 gig, he can go do that. So the thought was, does CBS go get Greg Olson? Cozying up next to Nance is a, that's where you want to be. Nance and Romo are boys, though. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:11 Like, that wasn't like a thing that Nance was polling for Romo. So I think if they got rid of Romo, it would have to get cleared with Nance, I think. That's it. Interesting. Yeah. Greg Olson's really good though He is. Do you think Tom Brady's good? He's good. He's better than he's better than I wanted him.
Starting point is 00:43:36 I wanted him to not be good. Because like this guy's got to be bad at something. Kind of, yeah. A little bit of a hater. He was, he got to where he is good. But it's also like, I'm now going to view or enjoy every game that Brady does, like, through the lens of like, this guy's also. in a beef with the Paul brothers. Like, this guy's also, this guy's now getting into wrestling
Starting point is 00:44:00 and it's just kind of annoying. This guy's offseason was spent largely with Logan Paul. Yeah. So it's, yeah, on the merits, he is good, but also just all the bullshit and the fact that he owns part of a team. It's always weird to me.
Starting point is 00:44:16 He can't call a Raiders game, right, because of that? Or can he? Surely not. It would seem like conflict of interest. Yeah. Anyway, I don't. Shout out to Romo.
Starting point is 00:44:30 Don't drink and drive also, though. We need to point that out. We don't condone that whatsoever. Yeah, don't pop a perk and drive. Don't pop a perk and drive. Don't drink and drive. Don't do that. Don't do any of that.
Starting point is 00:44:38 Yeah. Also, like, I think about sometimes, like, after a long round of golf, like, that didn't go well at a really tough course. And I don't know what the conditions were up in Wisconsin. Like, if I'm driving home and I didn't have a drink and I get pulled over, I probably look like I've been drinking because I'm like sweaty. My eyes are probably just from being outside. Probably red. I'm tired.
Starting point is 00:45:02 I've just been getting smoked. I just had to enter a 96 into the gin app. It's like, yeah, I get how like somebody might think I'd been drinking. So you got to be careful. Got to be careful. Yeah. It was weird how he was like, I was going to grandma and grandpas. It's just a weird way to put it.
Starting point is 00:45:23 Like she doesn't know grandma and grandpa. She doesn't know who you are. Just say I'm going to meet my grandparents. It's true. She doesn't know them by their names. That's true. Just going out of my old grandpappy's place. You know it might have helped if he had a Meridian putter. Also out of Wisconsin, by the way.

Starting point is 00:47:17 We back on Chef Emerald. We got some more emerald situation? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We probably have a lot of new listeners. There's probably at least five people who listen. who found us through the Emerald Reel, which has, it has experienced some sort of virality. Wouldn't you say so, Randy? Sure.
Starting point is 00:47:35 Okay, thanks. There's a clip that dropped that I had not seen. And it's just, it might be my favorite just because of the, just the preposterous nature of what he does here. By the way, we were both starch boys last night. I don't know if people know this. Oh, yeah, I tried DeSano for the first. time you never have you had it before have you not been to that new one i've never had to sano to my knowledge i may have at some point i just didn't know what i was eating what'd you think uh
Starting point is 00:48:10 can i first tell you what chay chee thought chee yeah she loved it it's like one of her favorite pizzas in austin now i'm not quite there with her i liked it a lot i didn't love it it's one of those pieces that if you if you pick it up like all the toppings would just fall off and i don't it was just too, it was super floppy and I didn't love that. Interesting. It's usually not that floppy for me. What would you get? The DeSano, like their signature pizza. It's, it's, it's probably the best pizza in South Austin, I would say. It's a different style though. It's not like your New York style. It's a Neapolitan. Neapolitan. You clearly haven't tried this new Pizza Hut pan pizza. Well, Randy, you've been talking about it for a year. Why don't you bring some in?
Starting point is 00:48:55 You want me to bring you in some Pizza Hut? Why wouldn't you? You know, I did bring something in today. Want me to go get them? No, I don't. I brought in the buzzballs, everybody, and these cowards aren't drinking them. It's Wednesday morning. We got another shoulder with them.
Starting point is 00:49:08 We were supposed to crack those open immediately. What are you talking about? We'll see. What flavors did you bring in? One was green. I think that's the tequila rita. So it's just a margarita flavor. And then peach tea.
Starting point is 00:49:21 So maybe tomorrow, maybe we'll do it. I haven't even checked the tomorrow's comments of the week. I haven't even checked the comments. probably tons of people are calling you guys cowards we were so inspired by emerald that we i did a r a bada last night and just went so hard on on carbs so hard on starch uh great recipe if you want the recipe uh hit me up i posted we posted picks of both of our meals on circling back instagram um but damn man what a good night i grilled some chicken too look at you dog i'm a sucker for just some smoked chicken with some pasta
Starting point is 00:49:55 and Chelsea loved that, Pete. She put it above Pine House, which surprised me. She loves Pine House. I would put it above Pine House, but it's close. I wouldn't. It's close. It's definitely better than Pine House, definitely. Nah.
Starting point is 00:50:06 Inarguably. No, that ain't it. Play this clip. Well, does it come with four hot guys? There's zero hot guys here last night. Wow. I don't like the inside of that restaurant. Vibeless.
Starting point is 00:50:18 There's no vibe. There's no bar. I think he was a manager. He came up to our team. table he talked to us like four different times just you know yeah well me he's probably wanted a hug from chichi probably he didn't he didn't get one sadly he's like where's my hug she's like this is like our first time here dude i just met you calm down I you know what I'm kicking it up another notch he puts down the normal size pepper pressure oh wow he kicked it up a notch
Starting point is 00:50:51 there's so much pepper I just feel like it you know what I'm kicking it up another knife I feel like it grinds pepper at the same rate as the smaller one would but it's like four feet long yeah but it's like
Starting point is 00:51:02 the way it goes through showmanship yeah that's a that's like a it's like a a bat that Rooker uses man this is
Starting point is 00:51:12 it's like a baseball bat almost a little pepe little pepe on the Caccio look at that fucking thing I like Akachio. I do too. It's actually kind of easy to make.
Starting point is 00:51:27 It's just butter, right? Might be a fun one. Yeah, it's, it's, there's some pepe. I don't say it's just butter. I mean, but it's, the, it's butter base, right? There's some butter in there. Yeah. Um, I feel like there's a lot of people who found us through the, the reel we posted that are probably like, so these guys are just the food, these guys are foodies.
Starting point is 00:51:49 You guys just obsessed with Emerald Agassi. These guys, they, and then they're, they're watching today and they're like, okay, wait, What am I missing here? Like these guys spent like eight minutes on somebody who worked at Subway in high school. One of the guys and like, I don't know, his boss might have said like mean things to customers under his breath. Is that what happened? That is what happened. Can I also say we're foodies.
Starting point is 00:52:09 I worked in the food industry. You did. You never did. I never did. No. You don't know. Don't trust a guy who never worked in the food industry. I respect food industry workers, big time, though.
Starting point is 00:52:21 Big time. You were a lifeguard, though, for some time. Yeah. I would have saved a life, had a life needed saving. Unless it happened in that two-week window where you just decided to stop saving lives, potentially. Yes. You said, I've had enough. This job's too stressful.
Starting point is 00:52:35 You went AWOL. Lifeguard is the slowest, like, clock-watching job I've ever had. Because you just sit there and watch people swim, and it's like 15 minutes will go by, but it feels like an hour went by. I watched the lifeguard at the lifetime pool. he's leaning over with the whistle hanging out of his mouth about to blow the whistle my son and like four of his buddies from T-ball who were playing what they called jackpot
Starting point is 00:53:03 we used to call it poison but it's where the dad throws the football up real high and they try to catch it. We call it jackpot. Yeah, we called it. There's like three different names. Anyway, they're playing, they're in the shallow end,
Starting point is 00:53:16 but they're pulling each other down. It's rough. And like, I'm watching him. And I'm like, he's going to blow the whistle on these kids. And I want him to do it. I want him to do it. Yeah. And he never.
Starting point is 00:53:27 And he never did. He never did. And I appreciated that. But I was still like, you know, if you'd done it, I would have totally understood it. Like, these kids need to be checked. Nothing's more embarrassing. You get to the pool with your boys. And then you just hit a little jog to get to, and you get the whistle on you.
Starting point is 00:53:43 Oh, man. It's like, oh, shit. Get put in your place. Everyone looks over. Like, who did it? And it's, it's me. The first time, when Roach was like two or three. I brought him to the lifetime pool, just me.
Starting point is 00:53:54 And I didn't know it opened at 10. I kind of knew it opened at 10, but I was like, what the fuck ever? So, you know, there's the shallow part where you can just walk in where the little ones go. I'm like, who cares? We're right here. So I went and sat in it and brought him and let him kind of splash around. And boy, they came over and blew the whistle on me quick. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:14 They didn't have to blow the whistle. There was like hardly anybody out there blew the whistle and ran up on me. like, so the pool, there's a big clock over there, doesn't know, but for another 15 minutes. I was like, we can't just hang out here. He's got the, sorry, sir. I was like, that's embarrassing, front of a bunch of parents, too. That pool's closed. It's closed too late into the season. Yeah. Yeah. I agree. It's a nice pool, though. Um, yeah, being a lifeguard sounds like hell, because you can't look at your phone. You don't have, you probably don't even have your phone on. They used to do these, uh, they would test us when I was at Valenti Beach to make sure, because you're
Starting point is 00:54:48 supposed to scan like every like 15 seconds you're supposed to scan the entirety of like your section right so they had this little like checkered red and white ball like the size of a you know like a dodge ball and they would sneakily like walk down there and just set it in the pool somewhere and if you don't if you don't see it in 15 seconds you would get like a mark you get written up for it you never missed it um i was one one time i was late like three seconds you're supposed to point to it blow your whistle and then go down there and bring it out of the water. And then you passed a test. So the game jackpot,
Starting point is 00:55:24 did you have a name for what you called the person throwing the ball? No. No, I don't think so. No. The boys all call them the jacker. The jacker? The jacker. Okay.
Starting point is 00:55:41 And they're like, and they want the dads to do it. Roads is the jacker. They want the dads to do it because they can throw it higher. So you were the jacker? It's like, dad, we be the jacker. And I'm like, Yeah. I'm like, all right.
Starting point is 00:55:55 I don't need to like steer them away from this, but I am like noting that like this is. He's got to lean into the rules of the jacker. This is kind of funny. Roj, get your dad. Tell them to be the jacker. Meanwhile, I'm just like over there just warming my shoulder up. My God damn.
Starting point is 00:56:12 Not again. We're doing this again. That's a fun game. But we used to, the way we used to play it, we throw it up. and you put like a value on. You go, 500. Yeah. And then there's one that's jackpot.
Starting point is 00:56:23 And then you do like 400 dead or alive. Oh, yeah. You can let it hit the water first before you grab it. There's one kid that always like, he's clearly like, he's the bigger one and he can like get to every ball. He doesn't let the other kids have a chance. I respect it. So I'm like trying to throw it away from them. And I'm just like, dude, I don't know what you'll want me to do.
Starting point is 00:56:43 Like you'll have to get position. You'll have to put a body on them. Like they don't. You got to body them off. Yeah, dude. that you may not be the tallest out there, but like play physical. And you can throw a bankrupt ball too.
Starting point is 00:56:54 Yeah. You know bankrupt. We called it or you say cracked pot. And then people are like, I got it. Like, oh, I said cracked pot. You're back to zero. That was the shitty way to do it. I got to remember that one.
Starting point is 00:57:06 Okay. That's how we make a little bit more of a level playing field. And they're like, oh, whatever. Or you say something, you whisper it and you just throw it. And then you just see who comes to get it? I said jackpot dead or alive. Roads is at the age where he could swim, but he's not like, he can't swim. Like, he can't get in the pool without me.
Starting point is 00:57:26 He's not like just able to like tread water and swim, like, really easy. He's still mainly hanging on the side. But he's at that age where he's going to discover like how he hasn't had that moment where he's been like dunked and like gotten the feared for his life from like a dunking. But we were talking about it. Like there's that one moment. Like I totally remember. where like somebody puts you under or you get stuck under a pool raft and you have like that two
Starting point is 00:57:53 seconds where you're like oh shit like that scares the fuck out of you makes you respect the water oh yeah oh yeah and like this this group man they they have a lot of fun they have a lot of rowding this as well if you do it to a scale really so he's he's almost at that point he respects water but like he doesn't want to do any kind of life jacket he just wants to and he's not the tallest one so he can't You know, he wades into waters that are a little bit deep for him. Apparently, so this is totally off topic that our president said, said that we're going to beat the fucking shit out of Iran. Okay.
Starting point is 00:58:30 He told that to Fox News today. What are we been doing? What's been going? Why didn't we do that earlier? You got to beat the fucking shit out of him. Oh, shit. Okay. He said that on TV?
Starting point is 00:58:43 I don't know if, I think someone's reporting that it may even on a phone. I don't know. But it's been verified. He said it. Okay. Sure. How does that make you feel? It's funny that a president of the United States would say such a thing.
Starting point is 00:59:03 That's how it makes me feel. After a little casket tap. Yeah. Don't worry. We're going to beat the fucking shit out of him. We choose to beat the shit out of Iran. Not because it's easy. Because it's hard.
Starting point is 00:59:15 It's good. We beat the fucking. This is my Ronald Reagan. we will beat the fucking shit out of Iran it's pretty good now you're doing the bucket shit out of Iran Obama
Starting point is 00:59:30 Listen Jack Iran when I was a kid We used to go down to the playground And then we'd we'd beat shit Or is this Biden I don't think he's I don't think he's doing Carter Is that Jimmy Carter?
Starting point is 00:59:43 No that was Biden Does anyone have a Jimmy Carter It's just a southern guy Just a Georgia man right i thought you were doing RFK junior for a second that was Biden yeah man
Starting point is 00:59:59 I beat the fucking shit out of Joe no I'm trying Biden again yeah me what's he been up to I know he did the the takies yeah he presented a take he did the little
Starting point is 01:00:13 cameo spot for uh Jersey Jerry for what was it lib of the year lib of the year you'd get that you're our live of the year okay
Starting point is 01:00:24 fucking lib pod a fake cowboy obviously gay 42 year old man what else liberal podcaster woke liberal podcaster
Starting point is 01:00:40 and that's just coming from Lubbock that's just from the Lubbock that's just the Bois out Lubbock way the boys out West Texas way that's that's what they had for you yeah what's going to happen when you get crossways with like the northeast I want you to get crossways with like... What would they call it?
Starting point is 01:00:58 I don't want to know. I don't. I want you to get crossways with like some real like New York cities, five boroughs types. Like some real tough guys. Some rough guys. Yeah. Some assholes even. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:12 Oh, mass holes would be good. Yeah. I'll see about it. I'll poke the right bear and see what happens. I'm going to poke the right bear right now. Okay. Bonobos. Yes. I've been I've been rearranging things in my closet to figure out why certain items have holes in them. And one thing I noticed was I have a ton of bonobos. And a lot of it is from before the deal. And I was like, man, I'm so glad they're on board because there's stuff rules.
Starting point is 01:01:45 The stuff does. Great summer stuff. It's hard. Summer style, like for me as a 42-year-old podcaster, it's harder than it should be. Either through your, you're sweating through your stiff clothes or you just look like you gave up. Bonobos fixes that problem for you once and for all. I have the short sleeve button down, the Navy Blue one. I have the linen pants that I like a lot. I didn't know their linen game was so crazy. Did you? I did not. I had overlooked that, but they are fantastic.
Starting point is 01:02:14 They've got the linen. They've got the lightweight Chino as well. Don't sleep on that boardwalk pant. They've got a coastal five pocket pants, versatile everyday pant that works in all situations. From casual to elevated, they got something for every type of guy. whether you're a Randy, a Dave, a Dylan, they got it.
Starting point is 01:02:33 Super versatile. Their polos are great too. We just love them. Best part is you don't have to think about, like, if you're going to throw something on, you could wear it to dinner, you could wear it to work. It's not over style. It doesn't look like you tried too hard. Put on Bonobos, feel good, get on with your day.
Starting point is 01:02:50 It's easy. Save time. Right now, head to bonobos.com slash steam. Use code Steam for 25% off your order. Once again, that's B-O-N-O-B-O-B-E. DOS.com slash steam for 25% off and make sure you use our code so they know we sent you. You and Brett are getting out, getting real horny out there for college football. Yeah, it's a time of year when teams are like close to reporting to camp.
Starting point is 01:03:15 I think Texas reports on Tuesday. Practice begins Wednesday for fall camp. We're there, folks. We're like, I think week zero starts in like a month or maybe like a day, a month and a day, something like that. Anyway, yeah, we got little things starting to trickle out. Little tidbits here and there. Brian Kelly, high on Texas. Brian Kelly, high on Texas.
Starting point is 01:03:38 I saw someone else picked Texas to win the Natty. That's neat to hear in Northern. That's not what the segment's about. I'm going to file this one under the, what are we doing category of college football news? Tennessee linebacker, Aryan Carter. He declared for the draft and took a flight to. to a pre-draft training facility that cost $427.27, his agent paid for it. And I guess that it falls under the non-amature rules of the sport.
Starting point is 01:04:16 Sure. He eventually paid it back and returned to Tennessee where he was going to be playing this year. The NCAA has suspended Ariane Carter for two games because he accepted a $427 flight. what are we doing? Make it make sense. What are we doing? Come on. So he's missing Furman and Georgia Tech.
Starting point is 01:04:39 Yeah, they're going to need him from Georgia Tech. I don't know, man. It just like they're, first of all, can that not challenge this? Like the NCAA, any ruling that they try to enforce something, the judges just laugh in their face and like, no, actually he's going to play. There's a judge out Lubbock way. Yeah. Use that guy. might have some jurisdictional challenges but still uh yeah man uh like yeah tampering is
Starting point is 01:05:07 tampering is rampant and it's never enforced true um everyone's getting paid now so why why is this something that they're flagging is such a big deal i don't get it they don't they they probably don't have the ability to enforce like the tampering stuff like the bigger stuff so they just and for like to do something they'll go after the players they're trying to remind the college football world that hey we're still here and we still get to enforce rules it's how like a regular a regular joe get audited by the IRS when like uh somebody like a larger a person with uh more means that they don't have the resources to go after because you need like you know they you're right you know exactly what this is like that's what it seems like um i don't know i don't anything about this guy but uh i hope
Starting point is 01:05:56 beats this. This is so stupid. Like, what are we doing? It's tough. Yeah. What was his, how much, do we know how much they paid him to come back to college or like what would happen there? I don't know what his NIL deal looks like. I mean, the two game of suspension is a big deal. That's not nothing. It's not like a half. Yeah. But I'll appeal this. Get like a game, miss the Furman game. You see that the targeting penalties are being amended. So you won't miss the next game? Right. If you commit a targeting penalty, I have to look at it. I don't want to like say it wrong. It's like if it's your first, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:36 Yeah. You get your first one. I think you sit out the rest of the game or the rest of the half. But if it's second half, like you would have to miss the entire next game, that is no longer the rule. That's good. Yeah. That makes sense. Yeah. I think the third time you do it, it might be like a multi-game suspension though.
Starting point is 01:06:54 I could just look it up also. Yeah. That was always tough. They just got the camera on the guy on the sideline, takes his helmet off, realizing he's going to miss the next week as well. A lot of hype, man. I can't wait, man.
Starting point is 01:07:14 I'm so excited. The Texas hype is the most I've seen ever. They're going to have like four or five first round draft picks. They're stacked. No excuses. The only excuse they have is that the schedule is very difficult, but they have so much talent on the team. C.L. Arge does, man.
Starting point is 01:07:29 He's got some weapons now. He does. Because first Cam Coleman touchdown is going to hit like crack for me. What's that like I've never done crack? Yeah. I haven't either. I imagine it feels really good though. Okay.
Starting point is 01:07:41 Yeah. Hunter Biden said it feels really good. Really? It's very short-lived, right? Because the whole idea when you're asking the wrong guy, Dave. Well, you just used it. Yeah. So we assume.
Starting point is 01:07:51 That's true. Yeah. It's just a saying, though. You know, a lot of people are hopelessly addicted to it. Yeah, I'm sorry to those people. Hopefully they get beyond it. Hopefully it hits like a Cam Coleman touchdown to them. Yeah, that's good.
Starting point is 01:08:05 Like this crack is going to hit like a Cam Coleman at first one. Is Arch going to do the thing where he only throws to white receivers for the first five games? Do you remember that? Yes. It was like only, what was that dude's name? He's not on team anymore. Like the first five games of the season for Texas last year, the only guys who had scored a touchdown were white guys. Who's the dude who Texas lost?
Starting point is 01:08:28 Parker Livingston. Yeah. He's at OU. Yeah. He had a couple touchdowns, and then the tight end had a couple who's a white guy. And I think those are only two to score touchdowns. That's tough. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:08:43 That Parker Livingston thing was weird because it's like he grew up a Texas fan. He didn't want to leave, it seemed like. Apparently, the reports are out there that he was like wide receiver two for the team. Like he had a decent, he didn't have a great year. He had a decent year. He has touchdowns and a couple really good games. Apparently, his agent asked Texas for more money. And Texas was like, well, we kind of want to go after this guy, Cam Coleman.
Starting point is 01:09:11 So we're going to let you go because Cam Coleman had become available. And so they didn't want to pay him. I think he wanted like a $500,000 raise or something. And they just kind of let him. Don't we all, dude? And so he stuck it to Texas by going to OU. Sheesh. I did not like how, however, in Sark's comment.
Starting point is 01:09:31 comments about the cap space thing. Did you see his quote at SEC media days? No. He was talking about building out the roster and, you know, adding Cam Coleman and the two running backs that transferred in. He said, yeah, we have a cap space issue. Like, you know, we can only only certain amount of money to go around. So we had to let guys like Parker Livingston go, DeAndre Moore go and Trey Weissner go. Like he listed these guys like we let them go because a cap space. And we brought these other guys in. We couldn't afford all of them. So. it sounds like he's saying these guys aren't good enough to stick around instead we want to pay these guys he could have made his point without name and names
Starting point is 01:10:09 I didn't like that it's not the worst thing in the world to say but he could have been more tactful with how he said it well when you say those names then it's like okay well let's see what they do this year and if it comes back can those guys ball out you know two of those guys Parker Livingston and DeAndre Moore
Starting point is 01:10:25 had like a mild clapback or something on Twitter Yeah I love a good mild clapback I think DeAndre Moore did the yawning emoji Oh that one hurts Yeah it stings a little bit up for interpretation Colos football just it's getting a little grosser
Starting point is 01:10:42 You know NIL is a great thing These guys should be making money Obviously the sport brings in a tonne They should get a little piece of that pie But it's just it It's just feeling a little too NFL-E sometimes to me Hey guess what I just got in my inbox
Starting point is 01:10:59 It's a calendar invite from my wife for September. I think this is Labor Day weekend, a Friday of, yeah, September 4th. What are you guys getting into? Las Palmas, 7 p.m. Oh. Los Palmas. Yeah, I've been there. The side of the restaurant experience of all.
Starting point is 01:11:21 Yeah. Do we talk about that yesterday? I think so. Yeah, we did on a restaurant week. I think Alyssa was, like, jealous that we, We went and had that, like, now she's, like, trying to run it back. I'm going to have to, like, go real hard.
Starting point is 01:11:37 I'm going to have to, like, really. You can show her how it's done. Yeah, I'm going to have to show her how it's done, like, on my dime. She's going to be like, I kind of want to, like, so what all did y'all get? I'm like, I'm kind of going to want. I don't know if you need all the bells and whistles.
Starting point is 01:11:50 I can't guarantee you the best booth in the fucking restaurant. That was prime, wasn't it? I would love to go back and try their fajitas. Because famously, I don't know if. Dave was, but I was being good Catholic and I didn't eat any meat. We went on, yeah. On Friday. Yeah. What's that butter they did, they put on the fajitome?
Starting point is 01:12:10 Like, uh, bone marrow butter or something? Bone marrow butter. Yeah. It's good stuff. That's what it was. Now I'm hungry. What are you all doing for lunch? I have a leftover burger that will be microwaving with both buns and leftover Chinese food. Are you going to do both of those? A burger and Chinese food? I mean, there's not that much Chinese food left, so I'm just going to
Starting point is 01:12:28 God, no one's going to smell crazy in there. God damn. Oh, yeah. Che Chey made me a ham sandwich. Oh, she did. She makes great sandwiches on sourdough. Okay. Well, I guess I'll go fuck myself.
Starting point is 01:12:40 Don't do that. What, did you want to eat with those? No, not really. I just was hoping y'all would, like, say a place. I'm like, ooh, I kind of want that. Might go halal. Do it, bitch. I might go shwama.
Starting point is 01:12:49 We'll see about it. See you later. Bye. Bye. See you.
