Starting point is 00:00:04 Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Yeah, like someone who would just talk shit about somebody And be like, did you even talk to this kid? No, I didn't talk to him. I just didn't like how it looked. Welcome back to a circling back podcast. It's Tuesday morning, please. My name's Dave.
Starting point is 00:00:35 You like what you hear? Follow me on Instagram at DC Rough. Like what you see? Follow me on Twitter. At D. Carter Rough. Randall Trembacki's going to produce. Hi, Dave. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:00:49 Sorry, I stepped on you. Go. No, go ahead, bud. He stepped on me. I didn't mean to step on you, dog. I don't know. I don't have anything now. I got stepped on, so I don't know.
Starting point is 00:00:58 I bring this guy sunflower seeds and he just steps all over me. Yeah, you brought a bunch of them in. Dude, that was going to use my intro to things. Hey, how are they? Are they pretty good, good? I see what you're doing there. There is a good, good branded one. Actually, it's the, it's the salt vinegar.
Starting point is 00:01:13 That's the one I have open right now that I take to baseball practice. And guess what? It's pretty damn good. Wow. It's double good. Don't touch this guy's sunflower seeds. Ladies. One of the parks' teammates tried to grab the bag and take some seeds.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Yeah? So I just push his ass to the ground. I didn't do that. And then what? Did the plot like evolve and like come full circle and like make sense? No, it kind of went nowhere. Oh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:44 Randy, thank you for the seat. That was very kind, very generous, very selfless of you. Randy brought me a big old box of smacking sunflower seeds. There must be 12, 15 bags in there. So what's the story there? Did you get that free? So I had ordered a their limited edition bundle, and they sent the wrong bundle,
Starting point is 00:02:04 and then I ordered it again after I got a refund, and then they sent the wrong one again. And I was like, I reached out of customer service. Like, clearly something with their TikTok shop is wrong, and then they sent me out the right bundle the third time. So I only paid for one bundle and I got like three. So I had way too many sunflower seeds. I'm like, well, Dylan likes smack in.
Starting point is 00:02:23 And also he has a bunch of little leakers that like, you know, just give him to the kids. That's dog behavior. Maybe I'll bring some and take some, dude. The boys might be too young for that. Yeah, they might choke on them, you know. Yeah. I don't want to be the dad who, do you like sunflower seeds? I mean, I'm not like a, I never go out of my way.
Starting point is 00:02:44 Only if they have like a neutropic angle or like nicotine. Would you grow the fuck up, dude? I asked a question. Would you grow up, just have a sunflower seed? Not to be out so deep, dude. It's not that deep. That's what I'm trying to tell you. You like my shirt?
Starting point is 00:03:00 Yeah, dude. Grandpa's curtains. That's the pattern. Better than grandmas. Oh, my God. No. Dude, you just gave a disgusting. visual to so many people.
Starting point is 00:03:13 It shouldn't listen to the show. Randy Trebaki. I'm sorry, everybody. Randy, what are you doing, bud? I'm laughing at that grotesque image that you just put in everyone's head. Like, real quick, what's your problem? Honestly, Dave, I know we like to have fun here, but I went down on this one. Shut up.
Starting point is 00:03:29 You know what? Do the show without me. Good grief. Hey, real quick. I didn't intro you yet. Would you just wait? You already stepped on the kid once. Randy Chambachie.
Starting point is 00:03:45 That's his third intro. I will say. I'm giving him a chance to. That's his third intro. I want him to make it right. I got to step on again. I got to step on again. Keep stepping on his shit, dude.
Starting point is 00:03:54 I want the kid to make it right. I don't know. I was happy to be here. Stoke to be here. Oh, gonna be a great show? Yeah, it can be a great show. I can feel it. Dylan Shivery.
Starting point is 00:04:04 Hey, go to the Circling Back Instagram. And first of all, follow it if you aren't already. Check out the, uh, the new. newest post by New Hire Brett, who Dave doxed yesterday, gave his full government. He did a little slide piece for us. It's good. Don't say slide piece. He did a little slide piece for us.
Starting point is 00:04:26 What where that came from? That's all I got. Sorry, I got distracted by Colin Simmons highlight on my T.L. right now. I'll get off Twitter. I'm off. Dude, yeah, but I'm the one who's bad at podcasting. Who said that? I make a rockin joke that most people are like, man,
Starting point is 00:04:44 that's he's edgy but don't call it rocking it was a rocking joke all right a flapping joke and uh okay i do that i do a joke and you guys are just being so weird about it dillon shivery uh what is that who makes it for from the shirt is a holler brothers my guy new hire brett can you put a poll on our instagram story to see if that no don't do that was rocking don't put your poll on the instagram dude can you just get your head out of the gutter for Look, you guys are, you guys are long-hour out of the softballs, and I'm putting them out of the part. Sorry, I'm out here just fucking batting a thousand.
Starting point is 00:05:21 And you're just watching pitches go by, scared to swing. Speaking of, did you get that swing installed in your bedroom yet? Dave was on a run right now. He just manufactured that whole joke himself. He didn't, that wasn't work off anybody else. He just, that was all from him. I'm a five-tool player. You put it on the T yourself and then you hit it.
Starting point is 00:05:42 Yeah, I'm a five-tool player. No, you're not. I can do it all. No, you're not. Monti, do it all. We got Pete Crowe Armstrong. Fowler seeds, deep dish pizza. Some call him the jacking of all trades.
Starting point is 00:05:56 He's just a baseball player, man. No, Dave. Oh. Yeah, that's a little bit. I mean, like, I appreciate you, taking the shot. So tell people, just tell the good, good story. It's funny. It is.
Starting point is 00:06:16 So as Dylan said that their salt and vinegar is good, good, collab. And when I got my replacement bundle, when they finally gave me the right one, they added in an extra salt and vinegar. And this was right after the controversy. So I'm pretty sure they just threw that in there because they're really trying to get rid of their supply. They do not want those anymore. And they're probably not, you know, continuing that collabusory. lab. Can you purchase them from their website? Do you know? I wonder. I'll look. It's funny if they took
Starting point is 00:06:52 the sunflower seeds down. It's because they're good, good. I will bet. I will venture to, to guess that I couldn't figure out what to say there. The average sunflower seed buyer doesn't really care about like the controversy. About Dom Vye or about the controversy? The controversy. the controversy i think that has everything under it bundles in on the earth but yeah like they maybe don't even know they're just buying that shit probably because their kid likes them yeah
Starting point is 00:07:24 looks like it's still up that you can still buy the good good all right there you go maybe it's gave you a bonus good good yeah follow us on uh spotify follow us on youtube you can watch it live on youtube 11 to 12 central time you know that if you're in the chat right now Speaking of which, we're doing, you know, show notes, is it time?
Starting point is 00:07:54 Is it time to pick a theme week? We kind of picked it yesterday. But let's just throw it out there. Let's throw it out there and see how the chat reacts. Oh, we talked about it on exactly five minutes. Which is very good, by the way. Doing fan week, which is just all stories from sports games. We did tailgate week last year, which was all like, you know, college tailgate stuff.
Starting point is 00:08:15 This, I think, would just span to all sports. Like if you're at a baseball game and something happened, just something that's happened at a sports game that you've been at. To be clear, fan week is not like box fan, crazy story that happened with like an industrial size fan or your experience on only fans. We don't want to hear that either. We might.
Starting point is 00:08:36 We don't want to hear it, but do we have a listener who has an only fans? 100%. You think so? Oh, yeah. More than one. Well, hold on. I want to keep my journal. Or is a subscriber?
Starting point is 00:08:49 Yeah, no, no. Yeah, that's what I meant. Yeah. Because we definitely have subscribers. We've got people like begging Dylan to get on there. We got real guners on. We're listening for sure. Yeah, absolute beaters.
Starting point is 00:08:59 Okay. If you are a poster on there, no, I don't, you know what? No, I keep that. What? I'm just curious. Don't reach out and show us your link. That's not what I said. That's why I stopped.
Starting point is 00:09:12 I'm just saying, it would surprise me if we had, I bet we have somebody on there that does, like, feed stuff. Your sausage link. Did you hear his joke? Yeah You had to open the door with all your silly jokes To start the pod That was all you, Dylan Yeah, this is all
Starting point is 00:09:33 This is your fault I don't want to I like to visualize The average circling back listener As a very wholesome Upstanding member of society Not that if you're on only fans You're not a, you know
Starting point is 00:09:45 Interesting A productive member of society I'm just saying Sounds like you look down upon I want to them I want to picture them Wholesome And
Starting point is 00:09:53 Dave just called them Absolute Beter He did. He called him gooners. I did. Fair. You can go in and be a good person too? Huh?
Starting point is 00:10:04 You can goon and be a good person too. You can be a good person. You're still going to hell. Yeah, it's true. You guys both are tatted up. Yeah. It's true. It doesn't matter for y'all.
Starting point is 00:10:13 Y'all can goon all you want. You already know where you're going. Mm-hmm. Inked up. Not me. About Dave. It's fine. He's got that clean skin.
Starting point is 00:10:25 Thank you. I've been using a retinol. Good. It's important to moisturize after. Also podcast week. Did you know that? Oh, my God. You know, we're recording voicemails later today.
Starting point is 00:10:39 Yeah, I do know that. 877-35-2467. Leave us a voicemail. Short week. So we need some more voicemails. Yeah. Do it right now. Yeah, do it right now.
Starting point is 00:10:52 Stop. Pause the show. Leave us a voicemail. Oh, that's the Haas line. What else? Subscribe to our substack. Wash. Substack.com.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Wash weekly drops every Friday. Will's already jumping into his. I'm excited for his. You know what he's doing? I'm not going to give it away, but do you know? I don't know. I know. He's addressing something you had a hand in.
Starting point is 00:11:16 Ah. Yeah, that's the one. Honestly, it's giving me a little anxiety because if that thing falls, When I told him the news yesterday, I was very surprised that he didn't just want to rip my head off. He took it very well. And for that, I'm thankful. Just wait for washed weekly. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:40 We'll see. I'm waiting for my next factor meal delivery. I can't get enough of that shredded freaking pork. Ooh. Those salmon burgers. You got me on that salmon burger, man. Yeah, I know. Need to try.
Starting point is 00:11:56 You got to try it, man. Look, my routine took a hit this summer. Straight up. Two kids under six years old. A couple boys. It's hard to predict what they're going to do, what they're going to eat. Also, like, traveling, man. It's nice getting redialed here, locked back in with factor meals.
Starting point is 00:12:16 With over 175 band ingredients, every factor meal is designed around what supports a healthier lifestyle. And nothing that doesn't. Factory meals are ready in two minutes and require no prep and no cleanup. So even on days or your schedule is completely out of control. Eating well is still achievable. How are you eating these days? You eating well? You've been eating these factors?
Starting point is 00:12:36 I'm eating well. I mean, factors have definitely been a player in my diet. That's why I'm looking so good. You can add on protein shakes. I didn't know that until you told me yesterday. I didn't either. And I'm pretty excited about that. My next order will have protein shakes.
Starting point is 00:12:50 97% of users agree that factor meals help them live a healthier lifestyle. So you can feel confident that you're doing something good. for yourself with every meal. Go to factormeals.com slash backer 50 off and use code backer 50 off to get 15, excuse me, 50, that's 50% off and one free breakfast item per box for one year while supplies last until Halloween of this year, 10 slash 31 slash 2026. That's code backer 50 off at factor meals.com, backer 50 off at factor meals.com.
Starting point is 00:13:24 See website for more details. This offer runs through October 31st of this year. A couple of Mayacolpa things I need to address. Okay. I said that Ohio State took down bowling, I think I said bowling green. It was actually Ball State. It was Ball State. I clearly combined bowling ball.
Starting point is 00:13:46 I clearly mixed those. I did. Yeah, that's probably, yeah, that'll happen. Also, thanks to our crack accountant, Blaine, who is on this. I might have said, look, in my nasally non-antihistamine state, I might have said the SMU quarterback's name, which is Kevin Jennings. Kevin Jennings. I might have said it a little too fast and said Kevin James. Dude, I swear.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Two different people. I heard Kevin James. And I was like, man, I think I must have heard him. I think he just sped through Jennings and it sounded like James. So I catch myself, I almost always like flagged myself and like had that. split second like should I address that and typically we'll move on because it makes for better radio that one I didn't even notice I went back and listen and I'm like I might have just straight up said Kevin James so I apologize that's more of an apology so mistakes happen man
Starting point is 00:14:46 He's got a lot of work to do he's got a lot of work to do he's the king of queens I know that much not no no that's Kevin James oh yes yeah he doesn't play football um that that that clip by the way gave me very big cringe on myself. Not because I messed up the name. Just because I heard myself out of context talking ball. And I'm like, do people want to hear me just like riffing on like a game like this?
Starting point is 00:15:13 I guess they do. They tune in. But I was just like, I should have been doing something funny. And not just being like, yeah, I think I really like us, a Mew, but I'm like, shut up, Dave. Anyway, just that's me pulling back. Don't overthink it too. You're fine. All right, thanks. Yeah. What do you got?
Starting point is 00:15:28 I was going to say, if this weren't a live show, This would be a part in the show where I would say, let's pause and edit this out. But I need to update the ads a little bit. We're fine right now. We're good, good to go. But because we had, we started on a Tuesday, usually we, you see what I'm saying? Ah.
Starting point is 00:15:50 Yeah. She caught it. Just keep going. And if you see that ads change a little bit, just know that Dylan's doing something in the back end. but also the internet won't allow me to pull up the ad calendar. So it's the whole thing. So you see, while he's doing that, I'm going to have to be updating the ads on my end as well.
Starting point is 00:16:10 So you're just going to have to do this show by yourself, Dave. I can't. No, we can't. What I need is the internet to work. That would be fantastic. But, you know. I can maybe get them up for you, Dylan, because I have internet, as people know, since they're watching life.
Starting point is 00:16:24 We're going to be fine. We're going to power through this, and you're just going to read whatever's on the running. This is, this is live. behind the scenes look that people are getting right now yeah that curtain is off hey this is a live show guys this is what you get which curtain the the transparency curtain david not not grandma's curtain jesus that's if that's what the joke you're making there was honestly it's just google sheets isn't opening up dylan it's down right problem yeah people i think people are uh can still see us
Starting point is 00:16:52 hey we'll be fine though yeah hey are we narwhal and beers now Yes. I mean, I know we're, uh, we're pouring milk down our pants. It's a visual show. Uh, this got sent to me 40 times. And, uh, yeah, it's, it's what all the kids are doing, all of them. This is about-G can't stop doing this one thing. This is about 10% less wasteful than just a straight-up pants beer because you do, do get some, I think.
Starting point is 00:17:24 Some being very liberally used here. It's like what you drink out of a water fountain. Like most of the water just. falls right back into the the fountain itself it's a visual show you get some right yeah for the people that aren't watching at home uh appears that the youths are pouring beer on their forehead and letting it trickle down their face and they're trying to lap it up as it waterfalls down their face yeah this is called it norwall since a norwall has a horn you're able to like what's sam what kind of sam adams is that i think it's a summer ale yeah summer ale summer yeah it's like it's a boston it's a redsock chain uh keep
Starting point is 00:17:59 Keep scrolling through, Randall. You want me to go into this one, too? Yeah. Yeah. So, like, I mean, this is just honestly, like, the most efficient way to consume a beer in public. You don't have to worry about getting your pants all wet. I mean, like, all you're really doing is just, you're getting, yeah, you're getting your face a little bit so. But you can recover from that.
Starting point is 00:18:24 You're just going to have to tell off the old face, but, dude, I'm in on this. I like the table behind that it's just like, oh. You're like, what the fuck are these idiots? Look, she's turned around. She's looking. She's like, oh, they're recording. And she's, well, okay. What jersey is that?
Starting point is 00:18:37 It's a Browns jersey. Who's number 40 for the Browns? Don't know. Doesn't matter. Doesn't know ball. Norwalling is awesome. Randy, it's like a water. Actually, Dylan, do me a favor.
Starting point is 00:18:48 Will you look up Narwhaling on, on Google and read me the urban dictionary or whatever? Narwhaling, urban dictionary. Yes. So it's because if we're basing that these videos are based on where the, the sports teams were, That means that, you know, the Northeast and the Midwest. We, you know, this isn't just a small regional. This is, this is all America. It's all across the little slice of Americana.
Starting point is 00:19:10 What's up? I'm not going to read this. Oh, why not? What is this? It's very dirty and inappropriate. And, I mean, people. Well, not everybody has the people in my life listen to this show. Not everybody watches the show, like visually.
Starting point is 00:19:22 So they just kind of need like a paint a picture. Well, the one you want, the one I think you want me to read has nothing to do with consuming Al. Well, what's, okay, read me the top Google result. The top Google, like AI overview? No, like, just read me. Like, if you put narwhaling into Google and search, like, what does it say? What's the first link to come up?
Starting point is 00:19:40 It's Urban Dictionary, Dave. I think you already knew that. I'm not going to read it. Okay. It's a verb. Okay. And see, act of doing something real dirty. Like rolling around the mud?
Starting point is 00:19:53 No. Nope. What the hell, man. Like coal mining or something like that? What? Make it make sense. Who comes up with? this bullshit.
Starting point is 00:20:06 Like wasting beer like this? I think you know that it's not what it says, Dave. Randy, give it a look, see what you think. You don't have to read it. I'll give it a look on here. People won't be able to see what I'm looking at on screen, but I'm going to look it up over here, see if this is what we're talking about here.
Starting point is 00:20:22 Don't put it on the screen. Am I ever going to be in a bar where kids are drinking beers in like non-conventional ways or unconventional ways? I think those type of bars have were aged out of, That bones me out. Not that I want to be like there all the time,
Starting point is 00:20:36 but I'd like to at least, like, have a chance to see this in person. If we start by Little Woodrow's on a Saturday, watch some ball. We might see that. Is anyone going to be narwhaling? You might see me narwhal if, uh, narwhal a beer, if like the, if I'm at, like, a cowboy game or like at a bar watching a cowboy game. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:20:54 Maybe not. Honestly, just like a 42-year-old man doing that. It's kind of pathetic. Yeah. 43. That's real bad. I'm not 43 yet. I know, I'm just saying you got a little bit of time for it's real bad.
Starting point is 00:21:06 Eventually, I will be 40, oh, it'll be 43, that's true. Interesting act there, David. It's not a good act, is it? No, maybe it is. Randy, I'm begging you not to read it. No, no, I won't read it, but it's something. I mean, people are going to go do it on their own now because we've talked about it so much. I've switched a hotspot, my phone hotspot, and Google Sheets is just...
Starting point is 00:21:28 Put that on Urban Dictionary. Are you sure, Randy? It's just Google Sheets. Yeah, everything else is fine. Fine. You want to just make up what we think the ads are? No. What would be the best case for an ad that we had to just freestyle right now?
Starting point is 00:21:42 I think Lisa would be up there. I'm trying to, like I looked at it. I could rip a rocket money ad. I looked at it yesterday. I'm trying to go back to the memory bank here. Have you all reached out to Brett? I'll ask Brett. See if he has access.
Starting point is 00:21:56 But I think it's just Google Sheets is down for me. It's down for Dylan. Hey, man, it is what it is. Sheet. We'll sue Google. Let me try. The ad copy doc is firing. It's good to go.
Starting point is 00:22:07 I just, I can't. Oh, so you can't see, like, what is actually on the schedule. Exactly. Yeah. But that's okay. Are we not doing wellness, dardy? You went right past it. I thought this, I thought Naurwilling would be easier to do while we figured the issue out and then wellness d'arty.
Starting point is 00:22:23 All right. I think we should go into wellness d'arty. Do we want to do a read first? No. I don't know. It's just crazy that we get beating. BDN involved and like shit goes to hell. Things just start falling apart.
Starting point is 00:22:40 What's BDN doing? I know he's clipping the show right now. Just kidding BDN. We're working on a nickname. Our rodeo. I don't know, man. Rodeo, Brett. It's not bad.
Starting point is 00:22:50 It's just four syllables. Yeah. Yeah. Cilible didn't even get that one. That was all Dave. Yeah, why did I get it before him? Is there a new syllable champ in town? Just calling someone rodeo.
Starting point is 00:23:03 I feel like that isn't as good. But I like something with rodeo. I don't know. Lassow. What we call him? The mutton buster. No. That's also a lot of solubles.
Starting point is 00:23:19 You know, here's the thing. We're going to have him on next week, probably, while he's in. Maybe we'll get some people in the chat in the comments, giving us some good nicknames. Once they get to know who he is a little bit. Yeah. We'll outsource it to the fans. There you go. Wellness Dardy.
Starting point is 00:23:36 Wellness Dardy. What's this about? Look, I love a, I love a DART. and I love wellness. So like this sounds like it's made for me. Show me the video. Roll that beautiful wellness footage. Oh no.
Starting point is 00:23:49 This comes to us from fucking pike. Fuck Pike, dude. Are you serious? Yeah. Which school is this? Do we know? I'm not sure. I'll have to look it up, but.
Starting point is 00:23:56 So the caption says, imagine, imagine, imagine explaining a wellness d'arty as someone who went to college in 2012. Or like 2006 or seven. Or two is when I started college. Or like. So here's what we're looking at here, if you're not watching. It is a very large gathering of college students, guys and girls. I'm talking like at least 100 people here.
Starting point is 00:24:22 Yeah. And it is not a dardy in the traditional sense where you got kegs and solo cups. This ain't grandma's dardy. Yeah. They are stretching. All the guys are shirtless, by the way. Well, not all of them. This looks like a weekend in Austin, Texas.
Starting point is 00:24:39 It just looks like Zilker Park. They're all doing yoga on Pike's front lawn. And then they're going for a run. I'm sure these are like the coolest people. Okay. So this is Gen Z. We're still Gen Z in college. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:51 Okay. What's up with Gen Z, man? They don't know how to party anymore. New segment alert. They don't know how to party anymore, dude. They're not having sex. They're not drinking alcohol. They're just doing this.
Starting point is 00:25:01 They're just taking care of themselves. I heard alcohol is coming back. They're just being healthy and socializing like a bunch of idiots. But here's the weird thing. They're doing buzz balls, but then they're doing this shit, too. They do borgs. I don't think a lot of them are doing that, though. I mean, alcohol consumption is absolutely down.
Starting point is 00:25:19 That's because they're gnarwalling and putting in their pants. That's the thing. These aren't the ones who are doing unconventional consumption methods. Like, you won't see somebody here getting a big old jug of milk and pouring it down their pants. By the way, we've got the pants milk sweater that everybody wants. Like the guys at the football, or the whatever game that was, that were narwhaling, I want to put a mic in front of them and show them this video and get a live reaction
Starting point is 00:25:46 of a wellness dardy. I wanna- It would be absolutely disgusted with what they're saying. I don't know if I wanna like hire full time, somebody who does that, but I definitely want them in one of the group chats. Like I want them in like TMD. I want like a 23 year old kid working his first job out of college who pours beer down his pants occasionally.
Starting point is 00:26:07 And I want them in the group chat just to like occasionally be like, Dude, you all see this? Or like, hey, what if I did this? You know what I'm saying? Yeah. So they're getting, this is getting flamed online by, you know, everyone, every millennial, just pretty much explaining how much of a shit show was in college about drinking, getting up, like your wellness was like chasing a shot with vitamin water.
Starting point is 00:26:29 Bro, let's go out this weekend. There's a wellness event happening. Dude, I swear when we were at the frat house, if we found out that someone was like leaving to go to the gym, we'd kill that person. we would have made fun of them like what are you doing you're gonna go work out dude instead of a drink at the house dude the only the only guys that would do that you're just such a bonus the only guys that would do that were like the four guys who were on steroids there's like four dudes I didn't definitely on steroids it was like all right yeah five I never saw the inside of a gem when I was in college literally not one
Starting point is 00:27:05 time it's funny because I think that did change a little bit when I went in college because of Jimmy Tatro and Domazetti made the bro lifting culture also part of frat culture too. So people were like going around like, hey, you guys got any pre-workout? Like, but like it wasn't like wellness. Like we're doing yoga. To be fair, most of the Greek organizations in Texas State were in like lifting weights. Not ours though. Yeah. Teak definitely did.
Starting point is 00:27:35 Sigma Nu and Teak were the two like kind of like, yeah. like beefcake fraternities. And if you were a kid, you just weren't allowed to work out. Yeah, like, that was kind of your thing. Unless you were doing steroids. Then it was expected. Yeah. They were like, yeah, you should probably lift weights because you're doing steroids.
Starting point is 00:27:57 Otherwise, I don't know what happens. We weren't great at intramural sports. Basketball. We competed. Weirdly. We were really good at basketball because we had my, my Pudge, bro, Ross. Not that Ross. different Ross was like 6-5 and could just back people down could he yam and stew oh yeah stew
Starting point is 00:28:16 he was not so he was a baller yeah he was a he was a katie uh one of the katy high school was like he was like a legit like good point guard anyway mitch was good too hey by the way Mitch was pretty good you can't continue with the ads we already have in there and then we'll just we'll just move the ones from today to tomorrow it'll be fine it will perfect live tv but hey that's life when you're a motherfucking frat star thank you awesome time for google sheets to i don't know is there a second video or that was i think it's just mainly that but look man it's so funny seeing how like the response from everyone being like you're in college you're there to learn i guess but you're there to drink and like and be unhealthy it would be hypocritical
Starting point is 00:29:04 me to like say like because as somebody who who's i mean i'm aware of some of the wellness stuff, you're not going to catch me like Zilker with like 400 of my closest friends like doing this. But here's the thing though. It makes me wonder if I were in college right now, would I get sucked into this culture? And I'm pretty sure I would. Like if I had friends that were doing it, like, hey, we're going to go for a run. Yeah, you know why? Because babes are there. Yeah. Yeah. There's babes there. There are babes there. But then you have to like, then you got to, you got to like talk to chicks like sober like on caffeine on caffeine in vibes as opposed to like we would be doing this as opposed to like you know you and your three friends who started drinking
Starting point is 00:29:52 at two yeah skipped your last class started drinking kentucky deluxe at the compound and went to the bar and like one of your friends just pissed himself yeah and you're like oh i should talk to her talk to yeah then it's like hey see me and my buds we're cool you want to go back to the house for a late Not, no, you don't. People have been taking the opportunity to just like, what's a wellness, d'arty, just posting old party videos from college back in the day, just like people seeing Obama. Like, yeah, it's pretty sick. But these kids now, or I guess they're concerned about their health.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Oh, I bet those guys and gals get good grades and stuff. Cool. We got good grades too, and then we got drunk every single day. That's badass. I bet they study just drinking like a little espresso and not like a sugared up, sugared up red bowl and Adderall. They're not even snorting Adderall in the library. They haven't been in the library for 48 hours because they didn't go to that class at all.
Starting point is 00:30:50 They're drinking lattes and just powering through. They're like enjoying shit and we're just in there just sweating. They've got like a cold and we're just like, they're actually interested in the subject matter. Yeah. Way to go, dude. Bad ass. Have fun.
Starting point is 00:31:03 They're not skipping their 8 a.m. classes on a Friday because they got too drunk thirsty Thursday. These kids probably almost actually almost certainly went to rush and didn't skip it to go dove hunting. Oh yeah. Like there's no doubt about it. They were the proper attire. They were there. They ordered it. They ordered it from
Starting point is 00:31:18 whatever the store down the street is. Yeah. Yeah. Shameful. I hate it. I don't know. Maybe I think Randy's generation might have been the last respectable one. Probably. Well, I mean, I was the end of the millennial. these gen ziers but i mean they do i mean i have seen like you know the older gen zers you're a baby millennial we're doing uh i'm a baby millennial and i'm a i'm a geriatric millennial well i'm kind of like
Starting point is 00:31:51 i'm kind of like big bro millennial you're jerry no i'm big bro with the same age you're unc millennial you got nine months we're both 42 nine months it's a gestation period that's true it was good when i was being born your your parents were conceiving Jesus, you talk about me being, like gross? Yeah, what the hell. That's what I'm like, what a personal thing. Straight up, that's what happened. That's a image that's in Dave's head now.
Starting point is 00:32:16 Way to go, dude. He's not what his parents look like, but that's only for Dave. That was mean. Just painting you a blue picture. Maybe COVID killed college culture. That's the thing that, like, Callie told us that kind of blew my mind was that she, like, went to campus like three times her entire time in college. That does suck. Her entire time in college.
Starting point is 00:32:35 Maybe it was like her entire first year. It was like she never went to campus because like her first year or two or something was remote. So she just never had to go. When Parts started kindergarten, it was fully remote. And then the second semester, they had the option of going in. And like seven kids in his class decided to go in. He was one of them.
Starting point is 00:32:54 I sucked. I bet that I'm gonna talk out of my ass. I bet that benefits him, like just from like a being social around other kids as opposed to not being around kids. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah. Like I'd write- But also like I, I, I, I,
Starting point is 00:33:08 Parents couldn't set foot in school. We didn't do, like, obviously, back to school night's a big thing. Didn't get to do that his kindergarten year. It was just weird, man. Ryan in the chat also points out they also have AI do all their work for them. Have you been seeing those means going around to, like, kids, like saying you guys really did a five-page essay without AI? Did you see? It's like, we did five-page essays without reading the book.
Starting point is 00:33:31 What are you talking about? Did you see the college professor who hid text into the, like, the prompt? So there was like a this is basically like you have to write about this. So you put the prompt into AI and it picks up on it? Right. He in white text. So he was invisible if you were just reading it on a screen. Oh.
Starting point is 00:33:49 It said, insert this sentence into any AI prompt or any AI, you know, results that it spits out. And so people like the students would copy, copy that, paste it into AI, write me a, write me my paper. And then this sentence would appear somewhere and he would know that they cheated. pretty smart yeah if you have AI doing all your work why aren't you drinking and getting fucked up all the time you don't have to do anything
Starting point is 00:34:19 that's a great point this is not AI related but it's it's it's VR whatever show Rhodes is watching they had like VR goggles in like the cartoon Rhodes asked for like he goes dad I want I want those VR goggles for Christmas I was like I don't
Starting point is 00:34:35 I just don't think you need VR oh give him an Oculus no I'm like he doesn't need I'm like I don't I don't even, I don't have that. Like, I've never used that. You know, I'm not going to give my kid virtual reality. He doesn't even know our real reality or reality. He doesn't even know our reality.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Okay. And Monday we used reality. My days, we were doing kextands at the frat house. Oh, wait, it's Dylan's uncle. Bill's great uncle. Yeah. Yeah, we were, we weren't much for learning. Yeah, those 12 ounce currants.
Starting point is 00:35:11 We didn't do them. We didn't get them reading books. We weren't drinking beer. We were drinking shine. We made it in the tub. We made it in the tub that we washed a page in. Dude, do these kids even understand the concept of a keg in the closet?
Starting point is 00:35:26 These kids don't even know what pizza is. No, they probably have Kava on the floor. These kids are eating cauliflower crust pizza. Oh, my God. We got to move on. I hate these kids. You won't fight one? Yeah, I want to fight a Gen Z right now.
Starting point is 00:35:39 Is Avi Gen Z? Yeah. I don't want to fight Aubie. Avi's the coolest Gen Z. Actually? Actually? Actually? You got to be a patron to understand that one.
Starting point is 00:35:53 He's an elder Gen Z. He was ones doing borgs and stuff. He's big bro. He's big bro, Gen Z. Kind of me being big bro millennial. He was Gen Z before the broccoli cut. Yeah. Those are the kids you need to watch out for the broccoli cut.
Starting point is 00:36:08 My doctor said I need to be eating more broccoli. I don't love it. This is the voice you debuted the other night on the group chat, isn't it? I don't love the broccoli. I boil it. It makes a mess. The water is all green. It's all disgusting.
Starting point is 00:36:28 Yeah. What? Keep going. I like this. I like this character. I've got my allergy test on Friday. Honey, I hope you can bear with me. I can't take my antihist.
Starting point is 00:36:47 I'm a little. congested and not that you can tell yeah there's this wellness group i think you should join oh is it over it is it at the pike house honey fuck pike i don't i've i don't like them i don't use those words but i don't care for pike yeah i never liked them yeah i never did they never never liked them i was more of a fiji gal i was a i was a fiji sweetheart really i was at ratgas okay i read guys i Rutkus, yeah. Yeah, it makes sense. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:22 Did you see, we took the L the other night? Yeah, I'm sorry, man. Pretty embarrassed. I was there for the firework, so I always loved them since I was a little girl on the shower. Yeah. We had a house. Yeah. I like this character, Dave.
Starting point is 00:37:38 It's only, it only works if I'm nasally. Yeah. So enjoy it while it lasts. It's not, it doesn't work if I'm, if I'm, we got the rest of fall to enjoy this one. Really probably the rest of my life, so cool. I've been enjoying Warby Parker's my entire. life or really since they came around oh yeah i got the bremers imagine pulling up to the wellness dardy with the britt with some uh warby parker shades you'd be a weapon yeah be a problem yeah how did i come
Starting point is 00:38:05 about settling on the old uh bremer sunglasses well i tried them on virtually i did the same thing man i try like 30 different frames on before i settled on the brimmers it's so easy it's so it's so handsome it's super useful man they look so handsome i appreciate that yeah they're great also the frame I chose that comes in wide frame and regular frame. Yeah. I went wide with it. You did go wide with it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:28 I went regular just because my head isn't wide. But I did, you know, we got the same ones. You got the transitional lenses that block the blue light or they transition into a sunglasses. Step outside and they get dark on me. They're awesome. Warby Parker is covered by many major eye insurance plans. Just enter your info and see if you're eligible for benefits, frames, contacts, or eye, exams. If you are, then they automatically apply for you. How about that?
Starting point is 00:38:56 Rady, you went into one of their 300 stores nationwide. Yes, it is. What'd you settle on? I do not remember exactly what the name were, but I tried a bunch of them on. They were a lot of good options. Affordable too. Well said. Warby Parker is now a one-stop shop. Like I said, eye exams, glasses, contact sunglasses. You don't have to piece it together anymore. There's a good chance. There's a retail store near you. So go check them out. they give back.
Starting point is 00:39:23 They've distributed over 20 million pairs of glasses to people in need through its buy a pair, give a pair of program right now. Buy one pair of glasses and get 20% off any additional pairs at Warby Parker.com slash steam. That's 20% off any additional pairs and you purchase one pair
Starting point is 00:39:36 at W-A-R-B-Y Parker.com slash steam. I've always loved my Wobbies. Yeah. Oh, the boathies. I got the boathies. You got the boathies. Bodie. You got to talk about this,
Starting point is 00:39:51 With Elizabeth Holmes, Doc. Yeah, please do talk about it. Which we don't know a ton about, but they did release a short little teaser clip. Yeah, you know I've been locked up in the clink, right? You don't understand that? This sort of there it is. Is she in the same... Is she in the same place as Galane?
Starting point is 00:40:10 I don't know where she is. Elizabeth Holmes, of course. You know, Galane was accused of human trafficking. Awful. Yeah. Nathan Fielder. What was the name of the show that became popular? Nathan, for you?
Starting point is 00:40:27 And the rehearsal is the later one. Okay, that's when I was thinking of. I am so dialed into this. First of all, I find her extremely interesting. Anything else you find her? No. I mean, she defrauded. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:47 Find her guilty. Oh. Yeah. She did do some defraud. She did some defraud. big time. What if they were calling him Will DeFraud?
Starting point is 00:41:00 Are you dialed into this, dude? I can't wait for this. Yeah. Oh, yeah. He is such, he's so good at the dry, awkward guy. And with that personality, mixed with Elizabeth Holmes,
Starting point is 00:41:15 it's just going to be electric, I think. And if this clip is any indication of how this is going to go, I am so fired up for it. So before she went to prison, for 30 days, she allowed Nathan Fielder and the cameras in to film a documentary of her life right up until the time she went to prison. So it occurs during that month window right there. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:38 We know, I don't think they've released any other context about this shit, about this movie. Not that I know of anyway. I hope we get the laptop, the laptop backpack thing, the tray that he walks around with. I hadn't seen it. The last one where he's like walking around, he's just like typing on it. If I were to go back and consume something he's done, which would you recommend? I mean, the Nathan for you, some of those are ridiculous. But the rehearsal, I only watched one episode of the rehearsal.
Starting point is 00:42:10 I did too. I watched it with Chelsea. And she was like, I don't know what I just watched. That was so weird. And I don't want to continue. Okay. I thought the pilot one, the last one he did on the rehearsal was like, I thought it was pretty Well done.
Starting point is 00:42:24 Okay. I want to watch that one. I remember you guys talking about it in here. But Nathan, for you, what is, what is that one like? So that's the one where like, that's the one where he does like the, is it what? He's a business consultant. Bad Starbucks. He has like, he comes up with the most insane ideas to like, like, help businesses.
Starting point is 00:42:41 He has like a haunted house where the whole point of the haunted house is to make people feel really scared. And at one point, like, one of the scare actors, like has to like say, oh, and we, shut this down. I have a like infectious disease and like they like take him to to a hospital like so these people think they're really and it's like all right that's the end of the hot house or okay
Starting point is 00:43:06 find the clip of him doing the one where he's like where there's the kids and the bleachers and he's like if I he's like if I fail to get this key I'm not I'm botching this but he's like oh yeah I fail to get this key my pants will drop yeah that one in front of this group of like uh of kids and i will be i will therefore become a red i'll have to become a registered
Starting point is 00:43:29 sex offender it's it's funnier this sounds he's he's is he like the tim robinson of dry just nonsensical humor i mean because he's so he's like he one of these like what i mean by that is no one can come up with the stuff except for tim robinson and his very uniquely comedic brain yeah i mean he's one of one of I mean, he's like one-on-one for sure. I mean, I found it. You want to watch it? Yeah, I would love to see it.
Starting point is 00:44:03 You may have seen this club. But it's... I remember like another Nathan for you, like, there was a gift shop in Hollywood in order to sell more. They like, were like, we're going to film a movie and people will come on and be extras. So, but if you're an extra, you need to buy something. So, like, filming a fake movie and people would come in and be an extra and just buy something. That's good.
Starting point is 00:44:25 And then they would have to, like, file something. to get a rebate so that they can get their money back. This is so dumb. Okay, here's the clip. This is an old one. Good evening. We're coming to you from the historic Elysian Park in Los Angeles, California. Now, every week on my show, I challenge people to take big risks,
Starting point is 00:44:44 but some have been critical that I never take risks myself. Well, tonight, that's all going to change. Over the past month, I've been learning how to pick the lock on these police-grade handcuffs. Why, you ask? Because tonight I'm going to take a bigger risk than anyone has ever taken. taken on television before. In just a few moments, I'm going to be handcuffed to this solid steel frame, and I'll have exactly 90 seconds
Starting point is 00:45:06 to free myself before the claw on this robotic arm undoes my pants, exposing me to an audience of children. If that happens, an LAPD officer standing by to arrest me for indecent exposure. We've all seen escape artists risk death before, but tonight, I'm going to risk something even worse, becoming a registered sex offender for life. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:31 And what you're going to see tonight. Okay. Okay. I'm in. I have to watch this. That's incredible. That's incredible. I just love it.
Starting point is 00:45:41 There's a robot ball. It's going to undo his pants off. That's so stupid. Okay. This guy's great, man. We haven't even watched the... Yeah, I do you watch the clip? And it's called...
Starting point is 00:45:56 What is it? Everyone... What is it called? You can see everything. You can see everything. So this is the official clip. And all it is is him just talking to Elizabeth Holmes. And if you'll hear how awkward it is in the voice,
Starting point is 00:46:09 but the visuals, it's just, he's clearly doing a bit and she's the real deal is what someone is online. That's just who she is. I'm not that person. I can promise you that. I don't have anything to deceive you on. Of course, I'm not deceiving you. I'm engaging with you as a human being.
Starting point is 00:46:34 Hmm? Why would I deceive you? There's no... There's no reason for me to do that. Okay. All right. Okay, good chat. You're being real right now.
Starting point is 00:47:08 I'm always being real. That's all it is. I know. It's just... This is going to be one of those things where people, like, have to give up on it after like two episodes. I can't keep doing it. Oh, is it a shot? I thought it just a single... Is it just a one-off?
Starting point is 00:47:33 I don't know. Okay. Hopefully, I mean, because like, it's a lot, dude. In theaters. Oh, in theater. Oh, hell yeah. Okay, well, good. Well, a lot of people will, I guarantee me just like, I can't, I can't do it.
Starting point is 00:47:48 Yeah. It's too hard. Yeah. It's hard to power through that kind of. Secondhand awkwardness is tough. I got some bad news for the, you played that. Yeah. Oh, you're going to Paul's on a show.
Starting point is 00:48:01 That Hooters and Cedar Hill just close. What? Are you okay? The Hooters in Cedar Hill right off 67. Mm-hmm. It just, it closed. It's only been open for like five or six years. Jeez.
Starting point is 00:48:15 You don't even have like a last chance to go, you know. No, I'd only been to it like once or twice. And to be quite honest with you, it was really shittily run. It was, we were like, we went there after golf one time to get a beer. All right. This is terrible. okay so probably it's probably way typically a business will yeah like if it's poorly run it won't last long yeah hooters is just a dying brand man yeah it's tough it's tough what was that uh what was that
Starting point is 00:48:54 concept you had that was like a restaurant but it was it was for women i remind me i don't know It was like going to be, it was like, it was like, it was like Tour de France themed. And like the waiters, the male waiters were going to be wearing the tour to France. Okay. The bike, the cyclist gear. I don't know. Oh, Prince. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:16 It was called Prince. With a tea. Prince. Yeah, yeah. Not like a royalty, but yeah, Prince. Yeah. But it was like German food. It was snistle and sausage.
Starting point is 00:49:26 I pitch it to some investors and they just didn't bite on it. Sharks. Prince. Mm-hmm. No, this is you to the sharks. Right. My business is called Prince. All right, I'm the Shark.
Starting point is 00:49:36 You pitch it to me. All right, here we go. It's called Prince, all right? Think Hooters, but this is for, this is for a female clientele. All right. The guys, they're showing print. What's, we're serving up Wayne. Hey, Mark here.
Starting point is 00:49:49 I don't, I'm, hey, I'm Mark Cuban. I don't have any experience in that industry and that, in that, in that sector, but you're going to have to really sell me on this. That's when I would pull up Randy's Instagram. Who's Randy? He's this producer for a very stupid podcast in Austin, Texas. Hey, I sold the Mavs to the worst people in the world. Isn't he trying to buy it back?
Starting point is 00:50:10 He's not. That was put out there, but... Who's with who? Let's pretend we recorded this before they, before all this stuff happened. Mark, you really interjected into my business pitch here. while you're talking about your

Starting point is 00:50:50 It's not the C one. Okay. Okay, I'm back in. Okay. Okay, what's like, okay, you could call it print, but it's like the play is like a prince. Yeah. So, like, you could have, like, a little crown.
Starting point is 00:51:04 Okay. You're cooking now. But all the line cooks are women, like all the other chefs. Because, you know, Hooters that's mainly males. It is, yeah. It's a male-dominated industry. And this one, it's reversed. I like it.
Starting point is 00:51:24 Yeah, so it could be, like, a prince, and you could just have, like, a cartoon sausage with a little crown on the head. Yeah. And all the waiters are named Albert. Cartoon sausage with a crown on his head. Yeah. Yeah. It's not a bad like t-shirt idea. Hey, for that reason, I'm out. Okay. I'm in on Rocket Money. Oh, yeah. I'll tell you that. Starting point is 00:53:04 This happened on Thursday afternoon after we record. And so yeah, his mom calls me during the day, right after her school's out. She doesn't typically do that. She's a text her. It's like, ah, what happened? Parks had a situation at school. Okay. What did Parks, what could Parks possibly do at school?
Starting point is 00:53:26 Parks is a sweet kid. Confirm. I think I've, I have explained his demeanor. He's just a sweet, gentle, kind kid. He really is. He doesn't want trouble. trouble. In fact, before middle school started, one of his biggest worries was getting in a fight because he knows he's seen, he's seen the movies. He knows that, you know, bullies are a thing at school. And so he's like, dad, I'm worried by getting in a fight. And I'm like, all right, buddy,
Starting point is 00:53:54 here's the thing. Just avoid troublemakers, man. Just stay away from them. All right. You're going to, you've got to run into kids who are troublemakers. Stay away from them. Mind your own business. stay hang out with your friends they're all good kids you're going to be fine well his mom calls me last thursday parks got in a fight at school what parks also parks is a tiny kid i've said that many times i can't express enough like he is he has his three best friends at school i'm not kidding the average like 10 inches taller than he is um one of which he's he made a new friend his first week at school won't say his name he made a new friend um he said dad this kid is so tall he's the tallest kid in sixth grade he's five nine five two inches taller
Starting point is 00:54:42 than randy he's five nine that is one inch and i met this kid at a he went to a soccer game last weekend i met him and he is he's a big he's like really tall anyway um so they're at what's called pre-athletics which is uh middle school equivalent to p e obviously it's it's kids who plan on joining one of the school sports teams so parks wants to play soccer okay so he's in pre-athletics and during this particular pre-athletics class they were playing soccer and he and his buddies were on one team together and they beat this other team at soccer all right they're walking off the field because class is about to end and one of them runs up and pushes parks to the ground i'm thinking like this little shit is just targeting the smallest kid of the group that's absolute bullshit like i guess i just you know i'm a dad
Starting point is 00:55:39 you know you can't help it feel super defensive of your kid and parks is not one to instigate anything his new friend the tall kid the big kid so according to parks parks got up from the ground and was walking to this kid who pushed him his new friend the tall big kid got in front to defend parks knows this kid they went to elementary school together yeah this kid apparently punched his friend in the face and kicked him in the stomach the bad the bad bad kid who started the fight yeah um i don't think his friend threw any punches at all i think he just like basically defended parks and for that reason he's my fucking dog i love this kid i met his dad already i haven't met us we've touched it with the parents um i love this kid he seems nice he defended
Starting point is 00:56:33 parks um at that point it kind of it didn't really progress beyond that they didn't you know keep fighting i don't know adults apparently weren't close enough to break it up but they just like separated on their own i think principal's office they all had to go to the principal's office they all to like write up a report on what happened pretty disappointed in the school they didn't reach out to us at all oh that's kind of crazy not happy about it um the other kids parents also not happy about it we also learned they didn't reach out to any of the parents No. And somebody got hit in the face?
Starting point is 00:57:05 Yes. Pretty pissed off about that whole situation. Dude, that was Summit in high school. Dude, not happy. So Dallas and I, Dallas is Parks' mom, if you're new here. We tracked down this other kid's parent's phone number, the kid, his friend, not the, not the bad kid. So we were texting with him and I was like, hey, man, I just want to let you know. We heard about what happened at school today, a little dust up, and we really appreciate what your kid did to defend Parks.
Starting point is 00:57:30 It sounds like they've made fast friends. blah blah blah and this dad tells me well we know a lot about this kid already they went to elementary school together like I said apparently this kid was expelled from elementary school do you know how bad do you have to be to get expelled from elementary school by the way he was expelled from elementary school for bad behavior
Starting point is 00:57:49 I think he's just like your typical like bully and so I think he's just a shithead but Parks he seemed unfazed by it which I'm proud of Like he wasn't upset. He didn't cry. He was just like, yeah, this happened. You know, his hands are, leave the weapons.
Starting point is 00:58:10 Yeah. He's probably pretty confident. He should put him in a triangle. I don't think the kid knows if Parks does Jiu-Jitsu. No, but Parks says he's just not a fighter. And he says he was walking up to this kid who pushed him. I don't know what his plan was when he walked up to this kid. I'm glad that I didn't get to that point.
Starting point is 00:58:25 But this kid's a problem. And the school, Parks went to class the next to the same class every day. He sits next to this kid, by the way. and the teachers, coaches, whatever you want to call them, they basically said that apparently some knuckleheads got into a situation yesterday. Don't be like them. Moved on. That was the extent of like the talking to the punishment.
Starting point is 00:58:50 Like nothing happened to this kid who was clearly a problem as a history. I'm not happy about it. Yeah. Harts handled it well and hopefully it doesn't happen again. Fighting at all. Fighting was such a serious offense, like middle school through high school. I got suspended two days from my fight. You're suspended. If not going, if you got into a fight, like a real, like,
Starting point is 00:59:12 you're going to the summit for 30 days, like the alternative school. We went to, like a summer orientation thing, we went to the parents said, not the kids, at this middle school. And they spent like 10 minutes talking to us about their no bully policy. Like, we do not tolerate it whatsoever. This is a very, um, non-bull, like this, we don't, we don't tolerate. Like, there are no bullies here.
Starting point is 00:59:34 We take it very seriously. They don't. Fuck that. I'm so pissed off about it, man. That's pretty crazy. I know. Sweet little parks, you're going to push them to the ground for no reason because you lost in soccer?
Starting point is 00:59:46 Do you think maybe like this kid was having a tough time because maybe somebody touched his driver previously or? Mm-hmm. Probably not. It's probably not what happened. I don't think they bring their golf clubs to school. Yeah, you should not bring golf clubs to school. Yeah, they don't.
Starting point is 01:00:01 gonna have a golf program. It'd be weird if you did that. Man, my sweet little parks, man. This other kid, this kid is my backer of the week. He's a dog, dude. I love him. We're gonna- The kid who's about to be bigger than me in a week.
Starting point is 01:00:14 The first day, this is like the second day of school. He's like, Dad, I made a new friend. He's like, all right, tell me about him. He told me how tall he was and told me his name. He's really nice. He's a super nice kid. He said, I got his gamer tag. Oh, hell.
Starting point is 01:00:28 They don't have phones. Say no more, dude. I got his gamer. Say no more. Yeah. Like, sick, dude. It's wild that that punch someone in the face.
Starting point is 01:00:36 Can you believe that? Dude, that's wild. That is crazy. It's not like, it's not like it went unreported. They went to the principal's office. They all had, they all had to go and talk to the principal.
Starting point is 01:00:46 Yeah, like back in our day, it was like, if you got in a fight, you were getting suspended at least. It was like, even if you didn't start the fight, you were a part of it. Even if you were just part of it. That's right. Like parks,
Starting point is 01:00:56 parks may have gotten suspended if they, you know, regulated, like, You want to know what the football coaches would do in seventh and eighth grade if you got to a scrap? And like, if you got into like a beef and the coaches found out, they wouldn't report you to the principals. Like if you got into a fight, they would, I'm not kidding. After practice, they'd say, all right, you guys want to go out there? We're going to run the Oklahoma drill. And you'd run Oklahoma drill against the guy that you got to fight with.
Starting point is 01:01:25 Yeah, yeah. That was not that long ago. That was the way that they handled it. When I got in my fight, it was broken up by coaches. Claude Mathis is the one, the first one there to break it up. Big one this weekend. And it was right before baseball practice. So we went to practice, and I think my baseball coach, he heard about it.
Starting point is 01:01:41 And I think he wanted to let it go. He's like, dude, I have to report it. I'm sorry. He knows I didn't start the fight. He's like, I have to report it. So he told our athletic director who then sent me, I had to go talk to the principal. Like the next day at school and I got suspended. For two days, he got three because I was more cooperative.
Starting point is 01:01:57 You know what? I can't wait to teach roads. Actually, I can wait. Let me just be clear. I'm not excited to teach my son this. But I do, I can't wait to drop this banger on them. Ready? All right, here we go. They start it.
Starting point is 01:02:13 You end it. Yeah. The thing about with Parks, so like he, you tell, you, like, you want to tell your kid, like, defend yourself, right? Yeah. I mean, that's like, like, don't start a fight, right? Don't, never start a fight for any reason. and it's a bad idea, bad things happen, don't start a fight.
Starting point is 01:02:30 If someone's trying to hurt you, you are allowed to defend yourself. With Parks, like, I tell him that, but at the same time, he's such a small kid that I don't want him to get, like, I don't want him to just get crumpled. I worry about him, defending himself to a bigger kid.
Starting point is 01:02:47 And so it's just, it's weird for me to tell me, like, yeah, you're allowed to strike back if you're getting punched. I will say, like, it's just, I struggle with it. Yeah. As somebody who, was a you know i wasn't huge as a kid and you know i'm obviously like a pretty like above average
Starting point is 01:03:03 size adult but like as a kid i wasn't uh right you get a lot of even like if you if you if you scrap even if like you you like you might lose you get a lot of respect like that is a thing where it's like okay that guy's not afraid to like scrap you know what i mean yeah like i just but yeah no your kids i mean but parks is way too what grade's parks in again seven sixth Yeah, that's like very young. Just like I see videos of school fights and kids getting heads kicked when they're down. No, you're right. You're right.
Starting point is 01:03:35 You're right. I just can't imagine parks being a situation like that. Like I would fall apart. Like I would be, I don't know what, I don't know how I would handle it. And so I don't, I don't want to encourage him to defend himself, but at the same time, like, you should. Like, you absolutely should defend yourself as someone's trying to hurt you. What does that mean like covering? What if he's just, what if he's on?
Starting point is 01:03:57 What if he arm bars somebody? It'd be pretty sick. Mr. Chivory? Mr. Chivari? The kid didn't tap. Your son actually broke his kid's arm. Yeah, the kid, and all credit, respect to his opponent,
Starting point is 01:04:08 because he did not tap. But he did, your son did break his arm. Yeah, man, it's tough for me. It's tough being a dad of a small kid sometimes. It's tough being a dad. You have a kid. It is.
Starting point is 01:04:19 Sixth grade. Sixth grade's a really awkward time. Like testosterone is starting to, like, seep into this. You're right. You're right. Like, so it's like, six i'm trying to think like when i saw my first like real at school fight was fifth or sixth
Starting point is 01:04:34 grade probably six it was definitely middle school it was sixth grade for me seven and eighth grade were like it was that's when you're like oh shit i swear to god we had bloods and cribs in my middle school yeah 100 percent and they fought each other like pretty routinely and it was scary as hell i never wanted to be they both recruited you i just went the other way i don't want to be anyone here what's going on here and i don't know if that kind of shit is that parks of school but he's going to see some fights i just hope he's not involved in any of them um no i told roads like don't ever start a fight unless they try to take away your right to party yeah in which case like you gotta know know your rights cut down flock cameras it's good fathering david what what would you what would you
Starting point is 01:05:22 tell what would you tell i mean what would you tell roads if he were If that happened to him? Yeah, what do you tell him? Okay, right now? I'm gonna pretend he's in sixth grade. Pretending's in sixth grade. And pretending he's on the small side of kids. What do you tell him?
Starting point is 01:05:37 This is going to change, but I'm like, you gotta, I'm like, somebody pushes you down like that. Like, and it was outside of the game. You can't just be punked, man. No, you can't. No, I'm gonna say, dude, you got to. I was like, buddy, you go, you go, you push him back. Man, that's not.
Starting point is 01:05:57 It feels like I'm saying the wrong thing. This is not official parenting advice. I'm like being like, buddy, you, because man, I should just say walk away. But you can't, you can't keep happening, right? Yeah, you got to put, no, sorry, buddy. You go tell the teacher? I'm like, buddy, you stand up for yourself.
Starting point is 01:06:14 You push him back and I'll deal, you know, I'll deal with it. I'll, you know, if your mom is mad at me or mad at you, I'll say, this is what I told you to do. Kick him in the balls. I just don't want it to escalate, man. Yeah. Hopefully, hopefully you can. That's what I worry about.
Starting point is 01:06:35 It sounds like if Parks had gotten and pushed him back, it sounds like his buddy would have gotten in and broken it up. Or the kid could have punched Parks in the face. Yeah. Damn. I don't know. This is, I'm not prepared for this yet. It's a hard thing.
Starting point is 01:06:49 If someone has a great answer to this, I would love for you to reach out and share. Maybe you have experiences with your kid. I don't know. Help me. I really don't know what they tell me. them other than it's okay to defend yourself you're allowed to do that you should defend yourself we're talking i was talking to elicit the other night but de-escalate whenever possible you know whenever you
Starting point is 01:07:05 can like i was like i would love like i would love for roach to just learn like basic wrestling just to like take people down and like be able to end it that way you know what i mean yeah because like that's a way you can you can end it with a lot like if you know wrestling you can get somebody down to the ground you can like um just pin them and just like yeah you can like end the situation Are we done? You can end the situation and give people time to come break it up. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:32 Hell yeah. Break up fights. Break them up. Don't let it go. The high tea dad. Dude, I swear, his three best friends at school right now are all the three literal biggest kids in his grade. It's so funny. He knows how to pick him, dude.
Starting point is 01:07:43 It's so funny. That's how you really prepare for that. Get allies. Powerful allies. He's got, he's just walking around with triple towers, man. It's great. I said triple. Triple's his best.
Starting point is 01:07:56 That's right. All right. Let's do everything else tomorrow. Yeah. Bye. Bye. Bye.
