Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, we're back. It's the Circling Back podcast presented by Busy Heart Seltzer, the only heart seltzer with vitamin C from superfood acerola my name's dave today will be my last time hosting this uh this thing for the week so i hope you guys get your licks in while you can criticize me i did my best i'm here with dylan and brett hi guys well that's assuming that will actually gets back and he's back fighting the uh he's back queen funeral it's probably not called a funeral when you're the queen but he's assuming that Will actually gets back. He's back. He's fighting the queen. It's probably not called a funeral when you're the queen, but he's fighting that crowd right now.
Starting point is 00:00:49 What else would it be? I don't know. There's some kind of like super British royal word for it. Ceremony? Like when you become a queen, it's called a coronation. You know, like one of those fancy words or something. I don't know. It's probably just a funeral.
Starting point is 00:01:05 Yeah, I'm actually flight tracking Will's flight as we speak. And he looks like he's making a pit stop in Reykjavik, Iceland. Doing like the blue pools or something like that. He's going to extend it another day. Reykjavik. Yeah. Reykjavik. Okay.
Starting point is 00:01:20 I feel like he should have told us about that. You've never been? No. Have you? Yeah. Yeah, dude. It's the Blue Lagoon one. Okay. I feel like he should have told us about that. You've never been? No. Have you? Yeah. Yeah, dude. It's the Blue Lagoon one. Okay.
Starting point is 00:01:29 That would be funny if we'll just like, dude, we got a wild hair and we just pivoted. We went north. Right. We went north of the wall. Sure. Game of Thrones. Iceland, famously not ice,
Starting point is 00:01:41 and Greenland, famously not green. Right. But Iceland does have an inordinate amount of strongmen. And volcanoes. There's actually plenty of... Volcanic activity. There's actually plenty of ice and snow in Iceland. You can find it if you know where to look.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Oh, you don't have to look that hard, I think. No. Anyway. That's all we have on that. Yeah. Man, what a show we have lined up. Dylan Chivary, what do you got? I would just, first of all, I'd like to thank whoever sent me this t-shirt. Don't know who you are. Yeah. Man, what a show we have lined up. Dylan Chivary, what do you got?
Starting point is 00:02:08 I would just, first of all, I'd like to thank whoever sent me this T-shirt. Don't know who you are. Standing up, if you're not listening. Y'all should start sending letters along with the gifts that you send us. You want a little alert to that? I don't know who sent this. It says, Damn It, Dorn. Good one. Major League.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Major League, the best baseball movie of all time, of course. I like that whoever made that shirt, they went with the no graphic on the hat or jersey. You got to play it safe. As to not use the formerly, they were now the Guardians, but they used to be the Indians. Yes. Chief Wahoo.
Starting point is 00:02:39 And yeah, maybe that person was just making a social statement. Who knows? Possibly. Or they just didn't want to do unlicensed gear. Of course, Doran is a moniker I used to go by when I worked for a different media company. Barstool? For a little bit. No.
Starting point is 00:02:53 Oh. No. Anyway, thank you. This shirt not available at the Walsh Media Store, but... You know what it is. Now it's my turn. Whoa. That's one of them. It says offline. Right. It's ironic because i'm very online right now the one would argue the most it is monday i wish i was offline
Starting point is 00:03:14 i kind of feel like it upstairs you know long weekend we'll get to that later hey brett hey all right now you show show your shirt off this is from from Target. Okay. It's good looking. Thank you. It is a good shirt. A little burnt orange in honor of the Longhorns. It's not really burnt orange. Well, it's- To Dylan, it might be. It's close enough.
Starting point is 00:03:31 It's like vintage burnt orange. Okay. It's like there was a fire a while ago. It's like a sun-faded burnt orange. I would say salmon. No, Dave. Maybe I'm the one with the fucked up eyes. What kind of salmon are you digging into?
Starting point is 00:03:41 Do you see Quinn suited after the game? I thought he was going to play. I think he might play against Tech. Why suit him up? Why even put him in pads? I think it's to maybe throw off the scent for upcoming opponents. Do we have to prepare for Quinn or do we have to prepare for Hudson Card? I think he might play against Tech.
Starting point is 00:03:59 Joey McGuire will be ready for that. In Lubbock, right? In Lubbock, man. I heard you're going. It's a tough place to play. You'll take that Southwest flight? Not a night game, though. I'm not going. No. I'll be watching. Is it the early game?
Starting point is 00:04:11 2.30. Afternoon. Interesting. Tortillas will be flying. That's good for Texas because you don't want to go to Tech after dark, I feel like. That's what I'm saying. It's a tough environment. Credit to Tech students. I can tell you this. You don't want to be driving up 84 after dark. That's what I'm saying. It's a tough environment. Credit to tech students. I can tell you this.
Starting point is 00:04:26 You don't want to be driving up 84 after dark. Why is that? Just a dangerous road, it feels like. A lot of animals? Not that much, but just, first of all, don't speed through post. Everybody knows that. Sure. And just don't speed in general in 84.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Is there like a random kolache stand that everybody talks 84. It's very dark. It's not well lit. Dave and I will be recording live from Chimney's after the game, starting at about 6.30. We're working for the fan. 93.9. Live at Chimney's. Come through.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Out of Amarillo. Have a marg with us. Okay. We've been contracted. Last time I went to Chimney's in College Station, I got COVID. So hopefully that doesn't happen to you guys. Okay. Well, thank you. That would be fun.
Starting point is 00:05:09 We should do a Chimmy's live show from any of the Chimmy's. San Marcos is probably our closest bet. We won't actually be there. I was kidding. Yeah, we're not going. Unless they want to pay us. Unless somebody wants to pay our room and board. And tickets to the game.
Starting point is 00:05:22 And per diem. Chimmy's specifically, you mean, would pay us? I don't care who somebody do you really want that smoke no if I landed a deal this week that we do a live show from Chimmy's in Lubbock I think you would actually be like
Starting point is 00:05:37 oh shoot I would have to hire security I think because they'd be all on you yeah Aztec guy and his cronies would show up and just stomp me out with their square toed boots it'd be ugly Dylan you. Yeah, Aztec guy and his cronies would show up and just stomp me out with their square-toed boots. It'd be ugly. Dylan would wear like a crispier jersey too. It would just be, he would go next level with it.
Starting point is 00:05:52 They'd show up straight from the job site with those square toes. Yeah. He does like the jersey I saw this weekend at Buford's. Can you be more specific? The Let's Go Brandon 69 jersey.on 69 jersey ah yes two bits one shirt let's go brandon 69 yes i don't think there's anyone with the last name that of let's go brandon that's a weird last name what's the origin it's um it's actually icelandic
Starting point is 00:06:21 oh weird yeah there was a couple weird uh accents in there and whatnot. Oh yeah. Got it. Right. Hey, speaking of weird, paranormal, odd, things of that nature, spooky season is back. October, first week of October, we'll be dropping. We've got four spooky seasons on deck. Very exciting time. What is spooky season? If you're new here, explain it to the folks at home. Yeah. So spooky season, a podcast we do during the month of October, which is the spookiest month of the year, of course. And it's where we field actual stories from our listeners that we share. And it's their experiences with the dead perhaps, or uh unexplainable events that are of the spooky nature
Starting point is 00:07:07 we'll also dig into uh historical events uh that we'll find and we'll share those and of course they're all very spooky all no oh if you are scared easily it's not for you don't listen not for the faint of heart don't listen no you're gonna get goosebumps a hair in the back of your neck it's gonna stand up and you're gonna be you're gonna be spooked but it's fun it's gonna be a lot of fun we have a great time some people really like it i like it uh Yeah, you can send your stories in by emailing spooky at washedmedia.com. Or if you're more of a form guy or gal, form, Dylan, not form, you can go onto the Washed Media website and go to the Spooky Season tab. And I think you can find it there.
Starting point is 00:08:00 Is that right, Randy? What do you think? Yes, I think it's wash me.com slash spooky hyphen season you sound too good for a monday no there's a little grovel is there a little bit randy turns up man there's a little grovel sneaking in here and there randy have you mixed up your alcohol variety at all Are you still sticking with the slushies with alcohol in the shit? Slurpees?
Starting point is 00:08:28 I only had one of those this weekend. What were you mostly drinking then? Because you don't do beer, as everybody knows. Vizzy Hard Seltzer, the only hard seltzer with you know, Very low in sugar. Well, that's good. Less than a gram. Very cool.
Starting point is 00:08:44 Well, I guess that's a good segue into this weekend in fun presented by EveryPlate. How about that? Let's make it easy for them. Fall. Fall's finally here, which means back to routine, back to busy schedules, and back to the best time-saving hack for a weeknight dinner, EveryPlate. If you think meal kits are too expensive think again every plate is 25 cheaper than grocery store shopping don't turn to take out when things
Starting point is 00:09:12 get hectic instead get every plate delivery it's 58 cheaper than your average fast casual meal and you can always feel good about what you're eating i did the pork chops the other day seriously talk about you mash that chop button that's what i'm doing i did the pork chops the other day seriously talk about you mash that chop button that's what i'm doing i did mash that chop button thank you play that chop card i did i well is that what they call you the chop house yeah yeah chopo dave house is what they were calling me el chopo el yeah a number of names that work with this right um phenomenal great pork chops did them right in my uh my little pan. Just flipped them over.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Very easy. Very tender. Solid. I don't do enough pork chops. Pork chops are something I grew up on. You did an every plate meal recently. Sure did. I did the Southwest pork flautas, Dylan.
Starting point is 00:10:00 And Dave was like, how'd you do flautas? Those are traditionally super hard to do. It's hard to keep the tortilla wrapped and crisp. Right. You know Daddy likes a flauta. Why didn't you hand me over? Because they were bomb and there was only like a couple of them and I ate them all. I guess that's fair. Portions are good for somebody who lives by themselves. Every plate delivers so much bang for your buck. So you can save valuable time and money on meal prep and enjoy more space in your schedule for the more important things in life. Dylan, what, what are you most looking forward to?
Starting point is 00:10:25 Is it the flautas or the pork chop? Tell me, like, who sold it better? I'm pretty sure I just told everyone that daddy likes a flauta. So what does that tell you, David? Tells me I should just move on with the read because you don't want to play ball with me right now. How about that? I would love to try your pork chops, though.
Starting point is 00:10:42 Can I also call out the spicy shrimp rice bowl? Okay. Ridiculously good. Oh, I've got that one. It's a little like a bang bang shrimp. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That one's next up. Maybe tonight.
Starting point is 00:10:52 Get your first box for just $1.49 per meal by going to everyplate.com and entering code STEAM149. Get started with every plate for just $1.49 per meal on your first box by going to EveryPlate.com. And that code is STEAM149. Check it out. You'll love it. Start with Dylan. Brett's over there swiping or something.
Starting point is 00:11:17 Thanks, Dave. Sorry, my sister called me. I had a pretty great weekend. Pretty great. Started on Friday when I went to dinner at a little place called matt's el rancho met three backers there three different backers approached our table we were in a high traffic zone though the highest of traffic if you walk if you walk outside the outside area and matt's is very big you walked right by our table and that's a good like
Starting point is 00:11:40 just a lot of faces walking by three of which were also sitting at the head of the table. I was. Right by the door. I was. So you were, you were unmistakable. If that didn't give it away, Dave was also with, with, with the group. I had my hands full. His lovely family.
Starting point is 00:11:55 They were all there. The Rhodes man. Good to see him. Good to see Rhodes. That dude is, personality is absolutely popping right now. I showed you guys a video, a home video on my cellular phone for the show. I can't share it. It's kind of one of those ones, but
Starting point is 00:12:10 it was quite cute. He thinks the tooting is funny. It is. He's a big tooter guy. Tooting always plays. Saturday, another great day. Thank you. I had some family over. First of all, his soccer team caught a dub.
Starting point is 00:12:25 No big deal. He actually scored a goal that the ref didn't see because they were up by like eight, and they just kept playing through it. But he absolutely scored a goal. That's pretty sweet. I know. They're going to update that box score? They have to.
Starting point is 00:12:36 I'm going to write a strongly worded letter. Do they get put in the paper yet? Like, oh, Parks, Chevrolet scored two goals, one assist. No. Not quite yet. No. Keep an eye out on that, though well what are the lizards this year uh the raiders raiders the lizards the raiders yeah family came over spent the night my brother-in-law kindle made a very dope beef tenderloin i mean like super dope props to him how did. How did he make it? He wrapped it in bacon. He pan seared it.
Starting point is 00:13:07 Oh, geez. And then he hit it in the oven for a little bit. It was delicious. He crushed it. Damn. Yeah. Hey, that's not your grandma's pork tenderloin. Let's just get that.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Well said. Watch some football. Sorry. Beef. Watch some football. Texas. Beef. Watch some football. Texas took care of business. Not many other notable games, I guess. Wasn't the most exciting weekend of college football.
Starting point is 00:13:36 Sunday. If you're an Orangeman, Syracuse, pretty exciting ending to that game. Sunday was chill. Or App State. Got to spend a little one-on-one time with Lil Bay. was cool we got some ice cream together just kind of chill great what's your go-to ice cream order dylan does praline right we went to amy's ice cream it's a very popular austin spot and i got cookies and cream ice cream with uh strawberry crushed in oh my god it was dope okay dope it sounds phenomenal she got vanilla I tried to talk
Starting point is 00:14:06 her out of it little bay this is with sprinkles and I was like this is kind of a mid-order and I think she she came to realize that after she tried mine yeah you talked a young child out of their ice cream order because it was I tried to I said you should get something better like maybe get like do you hey sorry do you want me to edit that out? That's pretty embarrassing. No, let's keep it in. She needs to hear this. I'm trying to talk her into getting something with like, I don't know, some Reese's crushed in. A little pizzazz.
Starting point is 00:14:34 Yeah. Yeah. You know? There is still a peanut butter recall on my favorite peanut butter. I know you got yours back. I'm still waiting on mine. What's yours? Jif reduced fat fat creamy why are you going reduced fat because it has a better consistency i wish i didn't know that about you no offense no i've done i've done since i was like three years old all right all right so it's not all right and uh the boys also cut a dub this weekend that's all i got housekeeping notes too much dip will be recorded tomorrow due to
Starting point is 00:15:07 scheduling conflicts everything's okay we didn't go too hard after that cowboys dub or nothing like that but we will be recording tomorrow and i'm telling you it's going to be an episode like you've never heard before mainly because it's dropping on tuesday and you said i get 20 minutes of nothing but sabers nothing but if you want to come on and talk Sabres, I'm telling you, open invitation. Wow. Okay. Okay. Tune into Cold Stove.
Starting point is 00:15:31 Nice. What'd you do? Anything fun? Yeah. I don't remember what I did Thursday, honestly. Okay. Oh, I played hockey. First game of the season for Team Lavaca.
Starting point is 00:15:43 Oh, yeah. Lavaca Street Bars. Might have had two goals and an assist might have had a three-point night was your first is that your first goal well it was my first game so yes but ever no didn't you famously not score and we learned that in an interview well it just comes easily you never scores it's like i just i'm not a i'm not a scoring like a at a at a high rate of you're not a cling No, I'm a facilitator. Yeah, that's okay. It means assists and plus minus is my game.
Starting point is 00:16:10 Yeah, nothing wrong with that. You've got to have that. But, I mean, on Thursday it was 3.9, Dave. It's big. Huge. Squads 2-0. I missed the first game because I was at a wedding. And then we'll unfortunately be missing the next two as i'll be at
Starting point is 00:16:27 funerals and that kind of thing but you know i'll get them back in october i might take your spot dave we need it we need it actually we famously don't because there's 14 guys on our team that's a lot of guys a lot for a beer league that's more than i had on my club team yeah that's that's arguably too many because then you're just kind of sitting there like a real game, and you don't get as many shifts. Yeah. You have three lines. What's the quality of goaltending in a league like that?
Starting point is 00:16:52 Very good. Really? Oh, my gosh. It's fantastic. That was the issue we had playing club roller was the discrepancy. Some teams had either a world-class goalie versus a kid who just bought pads because because they didn't have one and he never played goalie before like knew how to play hockey but so yeah not great the the lead that we so we have it's double a it's like the you know there's there's multiple tiers of skill levels in beer
Starting point is 00:17:16 league hockey but i just want to give a quick shout to harbs oh harbs huh he's he's not off the schneid zero points so far you might know Harbs if you're new here or not new here from doing a dope backflip off of his boat from our Muggsy jeans video. Yes. He let us use his boat. He did. He did. Great boat, but zero points so far, Dave.
Starting point is 00:17:37 It's pretty embarrassing to be Harbs right now. I want to make sure that everybody knows that Harbs – He's got a young child at home. He does. He has a newborn. Taking up a lot of time. Maybe he's not seeing the ice like he normally would. Just saying.
Starting point is 00:17:48 0-2 start for their team. Does he consider dumping and then chasing? You know, at this point, if you're not putting the puck in the net, you just got to go back to the fundamentals. So maybe. Maybe. And then the rest of the weekend, didn't do a whole lot. Went to watch the Ole Miss game Saturday at the WTF bar downtown.
Starting point is 00:18:07 Is that the official Ole Miss bar? It is. It is. Actually was like, you walk in before the game starts. It was kind of sparse crowd. It's like, Ooh, kind of sad. By kick. It was, it was a bopping squad was mobbing a lot of Ole Miss, uh, transplants here in
Starting point is 00:18:23 Austin, Texas. WTF Dylan. What the fuck? Yeah. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Really cool thing for a bar. Basically has one more season left before it is a skyscraper. Oh.
Starting point is 00:18:35 Is that right? Yep. Like that's a done deal? Done deal. Sad. Sad. This entire time. It's going to be under construction, this town, like, until we leave.
Starting point is 00:18:46 Yeah. Yeah. I don't know where we're going, but. Yeah. I got an idea. Where's Watch Media moving to? They want us to move to the really inexpensive San Diego, California. That's right.
Starting point is 00:18:56 What about Big Sky? Would we consider that? Big Sky? Yeah. The winters would be tough. Yeah. Especially if you only have kill shots. Summer in San Diego.
Starting point is 00:19:06 That's fair. Summer in San Diego, or winter in San Diego, summer in Montana. That's the way to do it, Dylan. We can swing it. I'll be honest. I went to Carve twice in two days this weekend. That's very cool. Yep.
Starting point is 00:19:20 Not necessarily. For the folks at home who are new here. Carve American Grill, Southwest Parkway. That's kind of your bar Steakhouse American Kind of a sports bar There's enough TVs That you can kind of
Starting point is 00:19:31 Sit anywhere and see something You can watch a game Yeah So we You know watched Got a nap A salad And one glass of wine
Starting point is 00:19:38 Type of thing Not balling out By any means Was this last night? Was We watched the first half Of the Green Bay-Chicago game. Hmm.
Starting point is 00:19:50 And that's about it. Just pretty low key. Rebs got the dub. Looked like a great team. They do look good. I tested you this, Dave. Rebs are on might be really good watch. Okay.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Same with Kansas. Same with Kansas. I don't know if they're really good watch, but they're... I'd say better than usual. They will beat beat either texas ou or baylor kansas kansas bold prediction dave either they will win one of those games do you have any bold predictions like takes like that check out too much dip uh normally today but tomorrow um i don't have any bold predictions at this time. Okay. You're saving your bold prediction card, I see.
Starting point is 00:20:30 I played my Zah card Saturday night. Really? Yeah. I went out to watch the fights with our old friend Dan, Danny Regs, and one Randy Trumbacki, producer of this show. He showed up. And we went out. We were watching Texas UTSA. I got to say. He showed up. We went out. We were watching Texas UTSA. I got to say
Starting point is 00:20:48 UTSA fans were showing out on West 6th. They were very, very lit. Oh, shouts to the backer I ran into at WTF. Nice. Don't remember his name. I'm sorry. Didn't make that good of an impression, but you seemed like a nice guy according to Brett. Watch the
Starting point is 00:21:04 Texas game. Fun game. Compet game competitive game which i think we knew it would be um then we were like well let's go over star bar because we're gonna go to woodrow's to watch the actual uh golovkin canelo fight go to star bar get in they've got a trailer there via 313 you guys are familiar with this pizza, right? Very good Detroit-style pizza. Detroit-style pizza. A lot of people think it's the best Detroit-style in Austin, and it is very good. I'm not sure how much better than Jets it is,
Starting point is 00:21:35 but that's for another day. It's better. Yeah, it's better. It's lighter and it's fluffier. Jets is very good, but it's so dense and heavy that it's a lot. It's a big undertaking to eat jets you're absolutely right to via they're both fantastic b is a little bit a little bit lighter and as the new york post published detroit style pizza influencer on this podcast i want to
Starting point is 00:21:56 say i commend dylan for his take it's a good 100 good take anyway what was that about your zah card i don't even want to talk about it anymore i don't like how you guys shut all over your opinion but pine house has something to say i don't like it when you disagree with me well we're sitting there and i'm like dude if i'd love to get some za i haven't played my card this week dylan so i'm sure it's gonna be like an hour before i can get it went up there ordered 15 minutes later i I'm meeting Zaw. Right there. Shout out to the backer I saw next to me. We also saw that guy at Matt's, funny enough.
Starting point is 00:22:31 Yeah, and Randy was there. He watched me do it. Did you engage? Did you play the card? Yeah, Randy pulled that card too. You played his card too? Yeah. They'll both play your cards.
Starting point is 00:22:40 Did Randy buy you pizza? No. Oh. No. So I noticed that you've been getting a lot of you've been fielding a lot of questions on the tl about the za card yeah like the proper way to to to manage the za card well what is it what are you talking about like i'm new here i've never listened to this show so according to you david ruff yeah um let's do he's limiting himself to one
Starting point is 00:23:03 um pizza eating event per week right he's limiting himself to one pizza-eating event per week. Right. He's allowing himself to eat pizza once per week. It's a different way of saying that. And when he eats it is when he places, quote-unquote, Zocard. You only have one in the deck. Where do you turn it into? You turn it into...
Starting point is 00:23:20 Is there like a... Is there a dealer? It's kind of a... It's not tangible. Okay. It's like Web3? Yeah. If you guys know, you know.
Starting point is 00:23:29 It's blockchain. Right. Okay. You turn it into the blockchain. I have a question. Will, he's coming back from Europe. He was in Italy for a number of days. Originated there.
Starting point is 00:23:42 When you traveled to Italy, which is the home of Zaw, please tell me you get more than just one Zaha card on a trip like that. It's interesting, Dylan. I get this question a lot. In my opinion, you should have unlimited Zaha cards when you travel to Italy. If you are on vacation, you are given, and this isn't restricted to Italy, for the record. You are on vacation. You have unlimited Zaha cards. Whoa. Hold on. Unlimited. I think that's a smart.
Starting point is 00:24:09 You want to go Zaha every day? If that's what your little heart desires, what you want to do with your little ass, Dylan, you can do it. How about that? Got another question. Okay. Let's say I go a month without Zaha. I don't a month without za i don't recommend doing that i don't recommend doing that oh we have okay yeah there it is is this a carryover question
Starting point is 00:24:31 i've been getting this a lot lately this is from yes can i can i stack za cards if i don't use them can i can i so can i like i said if i go a month without eating za can i play four then in one week absolutely not and that actually defeats the purpose of the entire thing the whole point is to limit yourself even and it's not like sleep it is a lot like sleep actually you can't make up for sleep like if i know next week i'm gonna be like on a work thing and I'm not going to get a lot of sleep, I can't just sleep a bunch this week and be like, oh, it'll be fine. That means next week I won't be in as bad a shape. It doesn't work like that. It does not carry over.
Starting point is 00:25:14 It does not carry over. And I cannot emphasize that enough. No rollover. I have a question, Dave. You say the Zodkard week starts on Sunday. Right, right. A lot of people don't like that. But again, I didn't create the rules.
Starting point is 00:25:27 That would allow you, in theory, to go back to back. So you could go pizza Saturday night for the college slate. Sure. And then run it back. We could play the Zod card again for the NFL slate that afternoon. I just want to say, are we sure about this? So I think the people who devised this. The committee?
Starting point is 00:25:49 I think they had in mind fall and winter football season because, you know, you're going college, going NFL. Sure. Maybe you're with the boys both of those days. Ooh, I have a good question. Hold that thought. both of those days. Ooh, I have a good question. Hold that thought. So if you could, you, there is an opportunity to go back to back. I'm not saying that's how I would do it. I've probably done it before, but I would definitely try to space it out. You do sacrifice the next Friday, Saturday potential. Yeah. You play that card Sunday. You're without that card for the next six days. Sure. Okay.
Starting point is 00:26:27 And if you can live with that, then, hey, more power to you. Go ahead. Thank you. Okay. I have a hypothetical here. Let's go. Let's say it's- I normally don't engage in hypotheticals. Let's say it's Thursday night and you want to watch some Thursday night football and
Starting point is 00:26:41 maybe also play your Zod card that night. Also, check out the Too Much Dip live stream, 6.30 Central. Let's say you order Jets and it is a heavy pizza. Let's say you eat three slices and it's like, oh, I'm kind of full. I'm going to save these other slices
Starting point is 00:26:55 for the next day. Is that one Zah card? Even though you're eating it two different days if you eat leftover pizza? It's interesting. Or do you have to go give it to someone else and let them use their Zoc card? There's not really any precedent for that.
Starting point is 00:27:08 Like the law is not settled on it. There's not a bright line rule for leftovers. Just depends on where you're at regionally. Like different areas of the country play it differently. Okay. Does that help? No, it doesn't. I don't know what to do
Starting point is 00:27:25 with leftovers at this point. So leftovers are not... The committee hasn't mentioned anything to you. They're petitioning for cert, might I say. Look, here's the deal. The Zodkard Constitution is alive.
Starting point is 00:27:44 It is not a dead document meaning it's you can update it you can amend it being written it is and if you ask me what i think is going to happen if that's are you asking me that yeah you seem well you seem to me the most knowledgeable i think leftovers if it's part of the same transaction i think you could spread that out over the week if you wanted to. Okay. So if I – A lot of people don't like that, though. A lot of people don't like that. Some people are putting in a 24-hour rule.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Well, that's – see, that's what – And I think that's reasonable. on behalf of Papa John and potentially any other people involved in this endeavor, you get 24 hours from playing the Zod card until that card has been... You know when you rent a movie on Amazon or something? Right. You have like 48 hours to watch it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:36 Well, there you go. Which, by the way, is kind of bullshit. More on that, never. What would you... I don't know. I feel like if i rented it i should have the entire week to watch it well now it's just arbitrary you want two weeks blockbuster you have a deadline you got to get it back in time blockbuster hasn't been in business for years
Starting point is 00:28:55 there is one there is one when they were in business you have to return your tape like how old are you rent it we're not doing tapes anymore you used to go to blockbuster i used i was a king of just saying you rent something you have to return it by a certain time it goes for everything they're calling your place the doc buster wait why because you went to the doctor often and they hated it because you asked a ton of questions i know you're hated in the medical community i don't know if that's accurate. But I'm glad you brought up Papa John's because I've been asked a number of times about Papa Bowls. Right. If that is going to constitute a Zaw card play.
Starting point is 00:29:32 This is so stupid. And I have to say there is a bright line rule and it does not. If you're playing, if you're Papa Bowl, you can have a Papa Bowl every night of the week if it makes your little heart happy. What about a Papadilla? It's not going to your little heart happy. What about a Papadilla? It's not going to make your heart happy. What's a Papadilla? That's new to me. It's a quesadilla with pizza stuff inside.
Starting point is 00:29:51 Pizza stuff. So it's- What? It has to be labeled pizza. You understand what I'm saying here? Do people actually eat Papadillas? Yes. I've never heard of them.
Starting point is 00:30:02 Look at those. That looks dumb. That's fucking dumb. By the way, I have a new that looks dumb that's fucking dumb by the way i have a new go-to i've been to go to order a mass by the way does look pretty good what'd you say i have a new go-to order a mass they don't have my food was good and it's the best mats i've had in five years it's nachos poncho style what does that mean it's the regular nachos i get fajita chicken or beef and then you get a poncho style and instead of regular refried beans
Starting point is 00:30:26 it's black refried and also some uh guacamole on there okay okay that's cool you got it i was hoping there was a since it was poncho style you raise the flag raise the flag and they'll bring you more uh sopapillas or whatever no No one knows that commercial. People know ponchos. Okay. It's a noted buffet that doesn't exist anymore. You raise the flag. That place was a gut buster. When you're finished eating, you raise the flag, and they bring you a check.
Starting point is 00:30:54 There's a little flag on the table. I thought they brought you more food. I think it's like a surrender. I'm raising the flag. But maybe I'm wrong. I was going to say, is it a white flag like Taito? It's an actual flag. Yeah, it's an actual flag, though.
Starting point is 00:31:05 It's like a cute little mini flag. It's kind of like a Brazilian steakhouse is when you turn that thing over. It's like, all right, no more meat. And then, oh, I want some more meat. And you flip it back. Yeah. And then it's fucking on. Randy, we got a couple more of these we want to get to.
Starting point is 00:31:17 Oh, more tweets. Yeah, people have just been asking. This is from Landahoy14, Luca Don Thicke. I think that's his real name. Fuck Thicke. Oh, it's Land Luca Don Thicke on Twitter. I think that's his real name. Thicke. Oh, it's Landry. Thicke.
Starting point is 00:31:28 Read it for me, Dylan. Sure. From Landry. It says, played the Zah card last night and somehow the place was having a buy one, get one sale. BOGO. Does this burn my card for next week too? No, it doesn't.
Starting point is 00:31:41 It's all part of the same transaction. Right. I'm glad he asked this because people were reaching out to me privately like, hey, what if there's a BOGO option? What if? Let me know what the committee says in the 24-hour rule because that's my next- It's unsettled, Brett. There's a circuit split.
Starting point is 00:31:58 Take advantage of the gray area while you can. Can we lobby somebody? This is where our businesses finally overlap with stratton yes we can get we can talk to him okay one more i think we got one more here yeah oh it's from the team is our friend team trevor hughes on twitter underscore t-man says i want brett to read this one okay one question uh one question i have if i may at d carter rough that's me on twitter and snap if one someone or if one someone spelling in context here if once someone has me and the boys over for the big game and plays the zot card for me do i personally still have one to use throughout the week
Starting point is 00:32:38 if you are partaking in that activity that's a play you played the card team man take your zot card you played it you played the card, team man. Take your Zaha card. You played it. You played the card and maybe you got burned. Maybe you didn't. If you want to hang on to it, don't eat that Zaha.
Starting point is 00:32:50 Don't. Maybe bring a sack lunch from home or maybe order a pop-a-bowl. Or maybe... Say, hey, can you guys get some pop-a-bowls? I already played my card this week. Maybe some bell peppers and hummus.
Starting point is 00:32:59 Goes great with the game. That's your thing. Yeah, this is tough because a lot of people, like in an office environment, some places, it's Friday, we had a good week. Everybody hit their numbers. So let's order pizza.
Starting point is 00:33:12 Be careful. This is me, traditional boss. They'll order pizza and you kind of feel peer pressured in. You don't want to be the guy not eating the za. But if you already played the card, I don't know what to tell you. Now, let me ask you this is there is there a penalty for for playing too many za cards in one week you have to look at yourself in the mirror every morning be like i doubled up on the za i mean if you can
Starting point is 00:33:41 live with yourself i guess that's fine okay i whole point is, man, you just don't want to overdo it. Pizza's great. I think we're all on the same page there, right? You like pizza, famously. Pizza is the most universally beloved food on the planet. Yeah. And it's tough, but you want to do it in moderation. And I think the only way, and that's why the people who developed this system developed it,
Starting point is 00:34:07 is to keep it to once a week because then you kind of start feeling bad. If you did it on Tuesday, the kids were acting up, so you ordered some Mr. Jim's or whatever. Mr. Gaddy's, Dylan. Oh, hell yeah. CC's, Brett, Parks. Never had it. Okay. Would love to.
Starting point is 00:34:21 Not good. You're missing nothing. Not against it. You're missing nothing. It used to be like $1..99 buffet if that tells you anything it's on par with um like cafeteria pizza now with now with lunch fellation it's like $79 buffet yeah goodness that's that's weimar republic shit not great weimar remove yeah no people with wheelbarrows full of cash or whatever. Yeah, you would go into the store, and by the time you walked out,
Starting point is 00:34:48 people were already redoing the prices. Yeah, because of inflation. Crazy. But any other questions on this? I just wanted to put this out there, and if you have any questions, definitely email brett at washmedia.com. He'll sift through them and forward them to me.
Starting point is 00:35:03 Yeah, I can forward them to Dave i yeah i can forward them to dave or the committee potentially to get any rulings and um if you'd like to sponsor zot cards please uh my my inbox is open very cool dylan you got anything else no did that help that's a good baseline um knowledgeable uh i don't know i'm trying to say it but we all know where to go from here i think yeah you know yeah i mean you seem upset about the carryover rule i feel like that's not something you're into if i'm allotted four za cards in four weeks once per week you know i'm still eating the same amount of za if i played them all in one week right no this makes sense because dylan doesn't know the blockchain so i'm just like i'm a little
Starting point is 00:35:51 upset but i'll i'll get through it oh are they laughing i don't know that doesn't seem very funny oh jesus people are tough you what? I got a question. Is that little piece of plastic in your wallet doing enough for you? Depends if it's bizarre or not. Sometimes I feel like it's not. Stride Bank North America, but that's okay. You should spell it out. Edit that out, Randy. Randy, we got some news from the world of golf. I don't know if you guys followed uh the live stuff i did you're famously only a live guy now you said you love seeing the boys in shorts
Starting point is 00:37:52 you just think it's cool that they can go out there in shorts now and it's just more fun and it means more i don't follow live i don't support live i don't support anyone who's a part or associated with live whatsoever so i didn't see this live also because it's only on youtube and i don't do that for golf but do you know how be honest if you wanted to could you figure out how to get to that stream i'm not as like technology technologically incompetent as you guys think i'd be pretty sorry you did you did i'm pretty nice call he's kind of nice with it i'm kind of nice with it He did find Better Call Saul.
Starting point is 00:38:22 He's kind of nice with it. I'm kind of nice with it. So what happened here? Big boy? Big boy golfer? Yeah, douchebag Bryson DeChambeau of SMU. Wow. I don't even drag SMU into this, but he did go there. Don't do KJ like that.
Starting point is 00:38:40 He apparently was sniped on the golf course. Show the video, Randy. Let's see this is from tiktok a lot of angles of this by the way he's very shot walking back he does the rough oh boom walks right into the rope man yeah so he was walking up someone was holding rope up for him as he was trying to pass through an area and i guess they let go of it too soon and snapped back down and it caught him in the face everyone knows this is day one walking under a rope stuff you grab the rope because it is
Starting point is 00:39:15 very common for it to like snap back like it that's what ropes do if you let go of it you gotta grab it yourself but he's too cool he's too too big time. He had to have someone else do it for him. He's a big baby boy. And it backfired on his bitch ass. Oh. And he acted like- Friend of the show, Dylan. He acted like someone walked up to him and just sucker punched him the way he responded.
Starting point is 00:39:36 It was truly embarrassing. You never want to be in a position where you're saying, what the fuck, guys? What the fuck, guys? Talking to a crowd of patrons yeah they didn't do anything yeah just grab the rope and walk through and hit him in the face it's twine it's rope it's not a big deal i've seen a lot of a lot of people saying that his mobility uh has been limited due to his bulking any thoughts on that maybe he couldn't he could not get under it the guy can't bend down i don't that's maybe something too he would not be a good limbo partner but he said what the fuck guys and
Starting point is 00:40:09 then his caddy walks up and tries to hand him a towel as he takes it after first of all he took a knee to recover are we sure he was doing it to recover or was he protesting yeah he wasn't protesting because you know that's why he walks up fail hold the towel out for him because i don't know why he needed a towel and bryson sees it and just snatches it from him it was a snatch an aggressive snatch a little much he was grabbing chain and then a few a few moments go by and he he kind of stands up and says i can't even see right now or i can't see right now yeah you can yeah you can. Yeah, you can. A rope touched your face. You can see, buddy. Open your eyes. Anyway, just a charge of the highest order.
Starting point is 00:40:52 Can't stand him. Total D-bag. Sure. Anyone else got thoughts on this? Did sit there and let me interview him if the players is rookie year. What does that have to do with this? so i think that means we have to like him no i hate him you know it's funny the of that group of of golfers we've actually that were cool to us or tolerated us the two biggest ones sergio and bryson have
Starting point is 00:41:19 completely turned and the two best ones, Kelly Craft and... Kevin Tway. KT. K Tway. K Tweezy. They were the best guys ever. And they're still on tour and everything. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:33 But those guys were great. They were. So great. Yeah. That video is probably out there. That pod, maybe it's not out there anymore. But we were supposed to have just Kelly Craft. And then Kevin Tway's like, I want to do it too.
Starting point is 00:41:48 So he just came in the room. Yeah, he just joined us. Hopped on the mic. Didn't spit bars, but he did hop on the mic. Cam Smith won yesterday. How does that make you feel? On live? Don't care.
Starting point is 00:41:59 Couldn't care less. Don't care. What did he win besides just money? I mean, it doesn't care less. Don't care. What did he win? Besides just money. I mean, it doesn't count anyway. Yeah, he's the only name on a brand new trophy that no one cares about. I won my men's league hockey game on Thursday. The four aces won again. Pretty much the same thing.
Starting point is 00:42:15 Don't care. I think Pat Perez. You touched me. You said, nice job. Dude, Pat Perez is just cleaning up. Good for him. I'm glad he's getting the better 900k see he's the perfect here's the problem when when people talk about live it's only about
Starting point is 00:42:32 the money that these guys are making what does that do for us i don't give a shit how much money pat perez is making that guy's not even that good i don't care could you be good for you how many strokes would you need what does that add to my experience these guys are making a lot who gives a shit you're not horny for money they're not sharing that money with me why would i care how much money pat perez and sergio garcia are making don't care if i may this kind of seems like a little baller take no it's not i mean it's okay sure it's a little baller take, but why do people care about how much money
Starting point is 00:43:05 other people are making? Don't get it. How much are you making? How much money did you make last year? I don't want to share that with the people. Let's go around the room.
Starting point is 00:43:17 It was pretty good. It was fine. I mean, I put food on the table. You got the unofficially licensed Dorn shirts sent to you. It must have been a pretty good year. I don't have PJ money or anything like these guys have. You got the unofficially licensed Dorn shirts sent to you.
Starting point is 00:43:25 Must have been a pretty good year. I don't have PJ money or anything like these guys have. You should have the Guardians logo embroidered onto that hat. I don't think that's necessary. In the movie, Brett, Major League, the team was the now Guardians, but they were the Cleveland Indians. Right. Chief Wahoo.
Starting point is 00:43:43 Offensive logo. Offensive logo. But a bomb logo. Chief Wahoo. Offensive logo. Offensive logo. But a bomb logo. Really good hat. Great colorway. I love the blue and red. It's just blue, red. There's a lot of people that do it.
Starting point is 00:43:52 It's good. Is it not? Does that mean it's bad? The red skin of the face is where I think one of the parts where they went wrong with that. Sure. Right. Very much so. There was a team, though.
Starting point is 00:44:01 They kept that name for a while. Who? The commanders? Who did better in their name change? Commanders or guardians? much so there was a team though they kept that name for a while who what the the commanders who get who did better in their name change commanders or guardians because i think i think they're both pretty mad they're both real bad i am glad they got away from like the the 90s and 2000s naming a team with like a non-plural like the colorado avalan, Miami Heat, for example. Don't like those at all. Oklahoma City Thunder, no. Thunder is a weird one.
Starting point is 00:44:31 There's thunder everywhere. It's a very stormy area. If you're a big dummy like me, it's like the thunder is or the thunder are. It's like, I'm not smart. I feel you on that. Dylan just likes the Imagine Dragons song thunder thunder lightning and the thunder is that the one yep uh no i don't actually bryson just does it to himself he sucks me he's really bad man he's hurt he's and i like i i was
Starting point is 00:45:02 sad when he went to live, not because I really, really liked him, but because I loved having him, his personality, his character on tour, just fun for shit like this. It's like, you know,
Starting point is 00:45:14 and when he, but when he's on your Ryder cup team, which I guess he won't be going forward, it is fun. It's fun when he's on your team, just because he's, first of all, he mashes and that's his whole bit.
Starting point is 00:45:25 His bit didn't get enough love from us. He just bulked up. He's making another run at the long drive. That's stupid. Championship. By the way, he posts these videos of him training and it's like, dude,
Starting point is 00:45:35 I'm real. I'm worried about his, uh, his health. The longevity in his swing is, is next to nothing. I guess that's why he went to live to get that, that upfront bag.
Starting point is 00:45:43 Sure. Cause he knows he's got like four years tops. Right. That makes sense. He does look skinnier than normal though. I guess that's why he went to live to get that up front bag. Sure. Because he knows he's got like four years tops, right? That makes sense. He does look skinnier than normal, though. I was like... He's calmed down. Yeah, he's calmed down a little. Well, he's been... He's put into play the Zod card system. Before, when he was bulking, he just...
Starting point is 00:45:57 He didn't care. He was playing by his own rules. He strikes me as a no-Zod guy. He abides by a rule of no-Zod. Go ahead and ask me the question that I know you guys were champing at the bit to ask. Does cauliflower crust or gluten-free crust, does that mean anything in the world of Zod cards? Ask me the question. I don't fuck with that shit. So I'm not going to ask.
Starting point is 00:46:17 It's not bad. My son loves the Mighty Crust cauliflower. They're good. They're good. They're a doable substitute. It's cauliflower. Right. You can a doable substitute. It's cauliflower. Right. You can't taste it.
Starting point is 00:46:29 You can. It has to taste different. I don't think cauliflower has a taste. If you're just looking for a vehicle for sauce and cheese, that's perfectly fine. If I just want sauce and cheese, I'm just going to get a poppable. It's like making queso and having siete chips. Get a poppable. Dave, back me up, bitch. Get a poppable it's like making queso and having siete chips you get a poppable dave back
Starting point is 00:46:47 me up bitch how'd you get a poppable how'd you get a poppable today are they out yet i think i won't get you think i won't get a fucking poppable do it for lunch i've always said i wish i could just have these toppings in a bowl actually bay in a bowle famously pulls toppings off of our pizzas all the time oh yeah i'm gonna put her on that papa bullshit wait wait wait wait what do you mean pulls like we'll order like order a full pizza usually get sausage pepperoni version of that and she'll she'll have like a couple of slices and then she's kind of still hungry but not like hungry enough to go in for a third slice also she likes to limit her carb intake so she'll start to just pluck pepperonis off of the other slices
Starting point is 00:47:29 of pizza i like that pizza but she'll do like the whole slice dude the best possibly the best part of like a delivery pizza is when like you're like man i shouldn't eat like an eighth slice or whatever yeah that's a lot yeah i'm bulking and you know what? You look in the box and there's like a sausage with cheese on it. It's stuck to the box by itself. You just pull it up. Yeah. And it's cooled down a little bit, so it's a little cold, but not too cold to eat. That's what we call a nut moment.
Starting point is 00:47:57 I keep talking about this. I'm going to play my Zah card today. I did on Saturday. I got Pint House pizza. You didn't mention playing your Zah card earlier. I played it on Saturday. I feel like it would have been really, really useful for that segment. It's a new week.
Starting point is 00:48:10 Interesting. Well, I just, I mean, there wasn't much to write home about. I got a pesto kind of slice. It was too much pesto, and it kind of overshadowed the entire rest of the Zah, so I was pretty disappointed. They also don't have Detroit-style pizza at the South Lamar Pint House location. I do want to try that Pizza Hut Detroit-style pizza at the South Lamar Pine House location. I do want to try that Pizza Hut Detroit-style. Famously, we've been trying to do a video on that for like six months.
Starting point is 00:48:33 What's the video? We try all of the pan pizzas and distinguish which one is best because Will thinks Domino's sucks. I think Domino's is good. It's great. If you guys think we should do a pizza video, I want you to tweet Brett with a pizza emoji. No, tweet Will.
Starting point is 00:48:49 Okay, tweet Will. Yeah, I want Will to get all these pizza emojis tweeted at him and have no idea what he's missed. Exactly. Does he have internet access on this flight? I'm sure he does. Yeah. That would suck to be flying international with no net.
Starting point is 00:49:03 And he just gets pizza emojis to start pouring in. Do you think he's on Web 3 or Web 2 on that flight? He can straddle the line a little bit. Sure. Direct TV, by the way, didn't work on my last JetBlue fight. First Sunday, NFL Sunday. How are you not going to have direct TV available? Dude, that is not great.
Starting point is 00:49:22 I just want to throw that out there. What are you looking at, Dylan? I'm just scrolling the TL, man. Anything good? Just seeing what's busting. Yeah, really good, actually. Quentin, yours practiced today. God damn it. Why is it always... That's all you care about. It is. That's my dog. You know what I've been
Starting point is 00:49:38 caring about lately? Carraway. Wow. I did Carraway. It's time to ditch the chemicals with Caraway Homes non-toxic cookware and bakeware collections so you can make healthier cooking a piece of cake. Pairs well with the previous sponsor we talked about. I've been doing meats in my Caraway pan. What kind of Caraway do you have?
Starting point is 00:50:02 I've got the big sauce pan. Oh. We copped the Dutch oven for caraway. That's right. And Bay is going just to town on it, using it to cook. What do you cook in a Dutch oven? She's doing all kinds of stews. We do some casseroles in there.
Starting point is 00:50:22 She's been fucking with. Yeah? This thing looks beefy. It is beefy. She was very pleased to receive that. Carraway Homes non-toxic kitchen wares
Starting point is 00:50:31 are all designed for the modern home and feature a chemical-free ceramic coating so food can be prepared with peace of mind. All sets can be equipped with easy access

Starting point is 00:52:03 Easy cooking, well- cooking well loved all the reviews there's a dude does not pop as much as my old pans it's fantastic yeah really good we love caraway you guys want to talk patagonia guy or jiffs um we can talk both right we could talk both let's start with the patagonia guy let's talk about it this is a big baller shit i was in this office on thursday maybe it was friday i think it was thursday brett was just plugging away making a video meme on watch media ig if you're not following it you should it's the fastest growing account in the world in our world at least and um even though it didn't get the love that i think we both thought it would and should have gotten because it was well done thank you
Starting point is 00:52:50 it was humorous because uh patagonia guy famously did not sell his company he uh gave it away most of it yes um in the name of um climate i mean it's for he's going to come back climate change with the money the monies in a non-profit in a letter i saw a video of him writing um earth is now the only shareholder or something along those lines of patagonia that's interesting yeah um pretty amazing story here actually can i call out the uh yeah fucks over at yahoo yeah we're like oh look look at mr uh schwinard skirting a 700 million dollar tax bill fuck off yahoo he didn't skirt it by not but if he sold if he sold the company but he didn't sell it 2.3 billion dollars and skirting so he gave it away yeah so like calling him out on that ground is one just inaccurate and two they got like they got my click they got my click
Starting point is 00:54:04 yeah 700 million dollar tax bill because he didn't sell the company it's like i also skirted a 700 And two, they got my click. They got my click. Skirt $700 million tax bill because he didn't sell the company. It's like I also skirted a $700 million tax bill by not being a billionaire. That would be wild if you were like secretly a billionaire. I thought about that. Like if I was the person who won the billion-dollar lottery, just keep plugging away, just kind of working. Do you think that person exists? Like someone who is a low profile air or
Starting point is 00:54:27 heiress to one of these companies that's worth you know big money and they're just they're working a job maybe at a small to mid-sized content factory you're saying you are nobody knows raffino uh sparkly wine air i've been asked that yes dude i mean they use some high level and i don't comment publicly on that some very high level restructuring that's probably way above my head some lawyers got paid you're using a bank that doesn't exist to most most people so as like almost everything i'm gonna read a couple paragraphs yeah hit us by donating most this is from bloomberg by the way by donating most of the company which which is valued at $3 billion, according to the New York Times.
Starting point is 00:55:07 With a B. Schuenard, I don't know how to say his last name, really, is at the fore of a small but growing movement among the ultra-wealthy to use nonprofits to exert political influence long past their lifetimes. Right. He transferred 98% of Patagonia shares to Holdfast Collective, a nonprofit that will deploy its roughly 100
Starting point is 00:55:26 million dollars in annual profits to fighting the climate change basically uh moved all of his family's voting stock equal to two percent of its total shares to an entity called the patagonia purpose trust again this is some high-level that i probably couldn't cook up before you know it's restructured somebody was cooking yeah there's some serious billables in that transaction somebody made their nut serious hey hey somebody made their nut somebody made their nut big time good so it's life changing nonprofit and that's again you talk about the skirting the tax. Well. But still, good deeds were done here. Yes, very good deeds were done. Despite him maybe giving a little perk.
Starting point is 00:56:12 Before you judge. Uncle Sam. Dylan, did you pay your taxes? Of course. I'm a taxpayer. Would that be the biggest shock if, like, we found out one of us just never paid taxes? No, it wouldn't because it wouldn't be out of malice. It would be out of, like, oh, fuck, forgot to.
Starting point is 00:56:27 Now, I have been cooking the books, though. I should get that out there. Are you reporting our revenue on booking and not collection? They're cooked. I feel like you shouldn't say that publicly. Oh, really? Is that private? Well, I mean, now that it's out there. As long as you're using it to tear away, I think we're fine.
Starting point is 00:56:43 I don't know how to edit audio, so it's staying in. I couldn't cook books if I wanted to. And we don't have much to cook. We only have like five of us. Do you remember when Ted Benneke got Skyler in there to cook the books? It's just a great term, cook the books. How do you cook? What's the most popular way to cook books?
Starting point is 00:57:00 Is it reporting revenue like now instead of? I think it's probably under-reporting and like hiding some. We could hide some stuff. We could do like a lot of candles that we just don't even talk about. What's the candle that you hate? What do you mean? Yeah, we're talking candles this morning for some reason. Will's not even here and we're talking candles.
Starting point is 00:57:22 No, no, no. That's a T-shirt that I hate. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I'll just call them out Bella Canvas t-shirts. Oh, dude. I thought you said Bella Candles. No. And I'd never heard of it.
Starting point is 00:57:31 It's very embarrassing for me. I wish I hadn't said that. Ew. All right. Anyway. Yeah, shouts to this guy. You know what the funniest thing? I don't know when you were in college, but...
Starting point is 00:57:40 So Patagonia was... Patagonia North Face. Fratagonia. Standard. Sure. standard frat guy gear and the traditional frat guy can you know conservative for the most part right did they stop wearing patagonia ever because they realized like oh this is like the most environmentalist company in the world and we're just we're just wearing their gear we're just feeding it it turned out to be nf yeah Did you ever write about that?
Starting point is 00:58:05 You're saying that Patagonia is NF. Fratagonia. That's what Dave's saying. I'm saying that was the common thought. That was the common thought amongst the generic frat guy. Dude, if you didn't have at least a vest from Fratagonia, you weren't shit. I still have the chinchilla print one two might as well been a g oh i i'm gonna tell you this laying around i also wasn't a frat guy famous let me
Starting point is 00:58:30 tell you this though how mad are the frat guys right now especially the ones living in texas yeah they have not had a single day where they could throw on a vest throw on that pullover that denali those whitewashed wranglers though they're probably getting play already those are getting play those get played through the summer maybe some kranglers as well maybe kranglers didn't somebody show up here with kranglers the other day somebody was that backer was that a listener oh it was a backer it was a listener forgot his name trent i want to say i don't think it was Trent. Nice dude. I think he's nice. I don't know. He could be a total dickhead, but I think he's nice. He seemed nice.
Starting point is 00:59:06 Yeah. No, that's got to – everybody's just champing at the bit, Dylan, to get out there with – Buddy, I'm one of them. I am too. Record-setting heat. Yeah, triple digits this week. Until –
Starting point is 00:59:19 End of next week. Saratoga Springs, New York on Friday. High of 58, Dave. Damn. Is golf season over there? No, you get mid-October. It's kind of the... It's too hot, man.
Starting point is 00:59:32 It's just too hot. How far is the togs from peak and peak? Multiple hours. Like probably five. Oh, wow. Yeah, it's not close. Not close at all, sounds like, David. Okay, I'm just asking the questions.
Starting point is 00:59:43 No, it's fair. Upstate New York-ish. Yeah. Many people would say southern tier, western New York. Not the same thing. I have a map on my Twitter, at Schmeramit, if you want to look. Do you really? Well, people always ask, what's upstate New York?
Starting point is 00:59:59 So it's like, well, as an upstate New Yorker, I have a definitive map on what is upstate, what is central, what's western. Buffalo's west, right? Very west, yeah. Western New York is very much in that category. A ride for western New York. You do. You do. You know, with the Cowboys being what they are and me thinking they would never win another game this season, that changed yesterday.
Starting point is 01:00:23 Sure. I was trying to figure out, like, what can I – who should I pivot to? I need to have a team to root for. And I do have the familial connection to the Bills. Niagara Falls, New York, Buffalo, that area. Grand Island. But the Chargers are just so fun. Oh.
Starting point is 01:00:41 I like the Chargers. Really? Just a DJ, but – Like, what about them? I just like their vibes. Really? Just a DJ, but what about them? I just like their vibes. Good uniforms, too. I like their vibes. Okay.
Starting point is 01:00:50 And, you know, I do want to move this company to their old home, San Diego. So it kind of connects. Sure. I mean, we're not going to do it. No, it's not going to happen. Cost of living is even higher. This is crazy. Way up there.
Starting point is 01:01:03 Way up there. Great city, though. Fantastic. Great city. I. It's crazy. Way up there. Way up there. Great city though. Great city. I like it so much. I got something framed, a photo of that town framed. It's up in my house. I use Framebridge. Nice. I got to tell you guys about an amazing new service I've found called Framebridge. Framebridge makes it easier and more affordable than ever to frame your favorite things, Dylan, without ever leaving the house. I used Framebridge very recently, actually. You did? Starting point is 01:02:56 I would like to point out that I've been on this wave for a long time. Whoa. Well, GIF replies are cringe, right? That's been kind of the, like if you just respond to a tweet with a GIF or a GIF... GIFs are the crutch of the unfunny, as I've been saying for a long time. It's just the lowest of hanging through. I'm guilty of it. There are some times when a well-played GIF at the right time, it really hits.
Starting point is 01:03:22 Of course. Of course. But they're easy. Anyone can do them. Yes. Anyone can do them yes so you guys are familiar with jiffy we've all used jiffy at some point right lube no what go ahead yeah what about it um they're basically so i guess i didn't realize this meta you know facebook's they're trying to acquire jiffy it's being blocked by uh regulators competition regulators in the united the founder of giphy he calls it giphy by the way because he's smart it's just a guy like we used to work with him at a previous employer he would come in and just hang out for a while. Really? Yeah. What's his network?
Starting point is 01:04:06 Probably more if Meta snags his ass. Well, it's being blocked. And part of their argument, I don't know the ins and outs of this, but he's saying that GIF use is on decline. And they're pointing out people are out on GIFs. Someone tweeted, GIFs are for boomers. GIFs are for boomers. And just regular, unfunny, younger people too.
Starting point is 01:04:28 I feel like if I'm doing the story, you should just say GIF. No. Just to make it clear for people who are talking about the same thing. I like that you said it the right way. It's just not. It's a made-up word.
Starting point is 01:04:38 The generational divide is real, says the internet culture writer Ryan Broderick. GIFs feel extremely dated. They were never easy to make and didn't particularly do well on mobile. That is true. Really? I have traditionally had a problem
Starting point is 01:04:53 viewing GIFs on mobile. Maybe not on the new iPhones, but like old school. It goes slow. It doesn't flow. I don't know. Maybe it's just me. My shit. It could be my shitty connections. Mine's perfectly fine, honestly. I think it depends more on the frame rate of the GIF you're using. I'm a fan of doesn't flow i don't know maybe it's just me my shit could be my shitty connection mine's perfectly fine honestly i think it depends more on the frame rate of the gif you're using i'm a fan of using a gif or gif thank you if if i'm watching a game and something ridiculous happens
Starting point is 01:05:17 i like throwing it out there no context on twitter if you hit me with an i think that's fun like an office gif reply to something i might just i might just mute you going really straight up mute you know it says the uh this off stanley office gif was the most used one of 2021 this one who has like disappointed stanley oh do people still do them in slack bored stanley is what it's called bored stanley that was the fun thing when slack first came out i was like oh now i can have fun with the with the co-workers yeah i mean i think it's like gif and gifs and emojis are kind of the the you know the the non-word response to things or reaction to things it's a graphic so what So what's going to replace GIFs and emojis?
Starting point is 01:06:06 Because emojis aren't cool anymore either. You know what they need to do. If you use the crying face emoji, you're a loser. Yeah. The list of 2021's top GIFs, I don't see these very much. I don't see these getting a whole lot of play. Give us a few. Number one, like I said, Bored Staling from the Neovus.
Starting point is 01:06:20 Number two, Tired Tom from Tom and Jerry. Number three, Shocked Liam from the Great British Bake Off. Then Sad Pikachu. Agatha Harkness, Winking from WandaVision. No idea what that is. And then a Peppa Pig one. I don't know, man. The Weeknd from the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 01:06:38 Yeah. Weeknd was a big one. He was it? Oh, that's right. He looked in the room. He looked all confused. Weeknd, I can't see because it's fucking bright a happy dancing duck by animator foodie yeah that's a good one i got that one frame bridge that one did you know how do you frame a gift you can i have a surge of box a gif that i'd like to and it's actually our nfts the new gif jf no nfts are toast too what's that value
Starting point is 01:07:06 if i could get 40 bucks i'd be happy i'll buy your in your search a box a gift for 25 right now 25 dollars right this i'll give you i think i think i might take that 26 26 do you have the paperwork do you have the pink slip i don't i don't even know how you do it the pink slip you have to first of all you have to download Web3. I'm okay. You know what? Honestly, I'm okay with where it's at because I think even if I sold it tomorrow, I don't think I would see any money from that sketchy website that NBA Top Shot runs on,
Starting point is 01:07:35 Dapper Labs, for another six months. Dapper Labs. Feeling pretty Dapper Labs. Yeah. So, you know what too nfts crypto at all they're all just attached to stocks based on speculation and nothing don't look at crypto today they rise and fall exactly with the market which is like one of their founding things like oh we independent. We're a hedge against inflation. No. Guess what? Wow. Sold to bad to do it, Steve. Hmm.
Starting point is 01:08:09 Bill to do it, bad to do it. Bill. Yeah. You guys have anything else for this podcast? No. Do you want to end it? It's a pretty fun one. Dylan's just been looking at his computer for the last hour, so thanks, man. Well, Ole Miss and Kentucky at 11 a.m.
Starting point is 01:08:20 I got the gift thing pulled up. Why is that not game day? Why is Tennessee-Florida game day? I don't know. Wait, what is not? Ole Miss-Kentucky. That's a.m. kick. Got the gift thing pulled up. Why is that not game day? Why is Tennessee-Florida game day? I don't know. Wait, what is not? Ole Miss-Kentucky. That's a great game. Is an 11 a.m. kick, which is crazy.
Starting point is 01:08:33 You got Kansas-Duke. Two 3-0 teams. I'm low-key worried about Kansas, dog. You should be. I know. There's a number of teams. They're probably going to do it. Bama at Arkansas, 3.30 on CBS.
Starting point is 01:08:48 They're probably going to get a game day. Keeping the man down. It's already been announced. It just came out. Oh, they're going Florida, Tennessee. I'm talking October 1st. Sorry. Yeah, gotcha.
