Starting point is 00:00:04 Maddo Ranchos, Maddo Ranchos, Maddo Ranchos, Maddo Ranchos. All right, we're back. It's Thursday morning. It's circling back podcast. Welcome to the show. My name is Dave and producing the show. It's Rustic Tap Randy. Hi, Dave. Dude, this is the most rustic tap that you could have put together. It's jeans, a t-shirt, and a two-tone hat. In the boots. In a mustache. In boots. Yeah, that is true. You are an absolute weapon on West 6 right now. That's such a perfect call.
Starting point is 00:00:44 You're a weapon on West 6, dude. Yeah, this is a, well, we know why I'm wearing the jeans. You guys know why. No, we don't. I can I just explain to our guests what you're alluding to here? Taylor McCargg in the building. Let me say it's not that ridiculous. Okay.
Starting point is 00:01:02 Hold on. Let's give them the proper introduction. A rice owl. A conference winning starting quarterback. Husband. Husband, father. There we go. Broadcaster.
Starting point is 00:01:14 Who is it for again? CBS. We should probably be prepared to say that on our own. CBS. It's a major network. Color guy? Yeah. No, I know that.
Starting point is 00:01:25 And golfer as well. I was explaining, I was explaining to Chelsea, my wife yesterday, the difference between a play-by-play and a color guy. Yeah. I was like, yeah, we're having Taylor T-Mack again tomorrow. Color guy. She was like, Hmm
Starting point is 00:01:40 Not like that He's an analyst I don't know if you're able to say that anymore He's an analyst Yeah like what's the difference in Playabout play in the analyst What I explained to her is like There are usually two people who call a sporting event
Starting point is 00:01:55 One of them doesn't necessarily have to have Like a background in set event Like football for example And they they call the play out Like it's third and four You know So and so split out wide.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Yup. Kubiak. Pass to Kubiak incomplete, Fort down. What happened? And I said, color guy then takes over and says you why it kind of explains
Starting point is 00:02:19 what happened out there. Here's what they're running wrong. They're doubling Kubiak because he's shadow, he hasn't dropped anything all game. They're containing him. All over it. I did a good description.
Starting point is 00:02:30 I think I did a pretty good job. Yeah, play by plays the what and analyst is the why. We got cubes out there. You got to keep a deep safety, right? We got to dig up the clip You know I got him killed At Louisiana Tech
Starting point is 00:02:43 Have you seen this? I think I have A&M I didn't throw A&M I did not throw Louisiana Tech He got a concussion And it was my I mean I got him
Starting point is 00:02:51 Annihilated You do a hospital ball to him? Yeah It was bad Damn it's so bad What was the route? I think it was just a dig 10 yard in
Starting point is 00:03:00 Bang You just said Kubi I just get open I'm going to you He made the catch too But tried to get up And had the wobbly legs And that was it
Starting point is 00:03:08 We got to find it. I will find that clip. Anyway, back to Randy. So we get a lot of free stuff. A lot of sponsors. Must be nice, dude. We get a lot of sponsors. You're included in this.
Starting point is 00:03:23 It's a fantastic perk of what we do. Poncho is one of our... Amazing. Sponsors. Yeah. And they gave us $250 to spend on poncho stuff. Fantastic. Love it.
Starting point is 00:03:36 I love poncho. I think we all do. This is not the first time Randy's done this, but, like, I get it. I'm like, oh, that's sick. And I just hop online and I order, you know, I know my size. I just want, I do a large in this. Sure. Randy always has to go try on stuff.
Starting point is 00:03:51 He's going to go to the store. Okay. He's going to go to a retail store that sells poncho. Yeah. Is that ridiculous? If you haven't bought something from them before, no, I don't think. Now, you don't know any poncho?
Starting point is 00:04:04 No. I am with you, and I feel like most people are not. I feel like it's more normal to like order one of each and then return what you don't want. And then once you get your size figured out. But I'm like, I'd rather just know. Exactly. And go figure it out. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Here's a thing. I don't know that I would dress for the occasion of going to trial on clothes, though. For me, that is a little bit different. Yeah. It's like the playing with house money effect. You know? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:31 I get it. But it's also like. My wife gives me anxiety because she'll order five of one thing and then get the one she likes and order return the other four. That moves. My house. I think that's all wise. I can't.
Starting point is 00:04:42 I know. She, to her, that's very normal. To me, I'm like, that gives me anxiety. So as a one-off,
Starting point is 00:04:48 it's not that crazy. It's just the full body of work for Randy. He does this a lot. It's just, here's the thing. It's so Randy. Here's the thing. It's called being prepared
Starting point is 00:04:57 and actually like, you know, putting in fourth effort. Okay. I'll give you an example. In support of Randy. Thank you. No free ads.
Starting point is 00:05:03 But I really like the Mizin and Maine dress shirts because that you can really, like on game day, you can if it's hot I would bet that's an analyst they're great former sponsor
Starting point is 00:05:13 and I went up to the domain and tried them on in person so you know I guess I fall more in the camp Randy than thank you than not do you get like a sorry
Starting point is 00:05:23 go so this like like holler brothers we got some free stuff via barrett in their buttonups I'm a medium but in their t-shirts I'm a large
Starting point is 00:05:32 so it's like every brand is different into the fits and the cuts are all different so I need to go I don't I don't want to like go return like it's free money and we get it. Then I have to go back and like return it.
Starting point is 00:05:42 It's like a whole thing. I think he just likes your retail therapy. I mean, it's yeah. Do you get like a wardrobe stipend or anything? Sometimes for like a specific show I, CBS we were the blazer with the the logo on it. So for them they give you the blazer and that's kind of the stipend.
Starting point is 00:06:01 ESPN if you like I know ESPN and Fox and if you're in a suit every week, a lot of people will have that in their contract they get some sort of an allowance I do not but again we're in the we're in the blazer every week so it really makes it pretty easy you just got to think about shirt tie and pockets wear it just bring it to the broadcast set and just like here you jacket yeah no I mean I have it I have two of them and it's amazing like you roll that thing up and like on game day one quick little hit of the iron on it and it's good to go I would just wear that around no you wouldn't Yeah, dude, that's so cool.
Starting point is 00:06:37 Do they send you, this guy's on TV? Do they send you, like, the Jordan ones to wear with your suit? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay. Like, you can write all that stuff off, you know? You know that. Who does your taxes? I have a great tax guy.
Starting point is 00:06:54 Y'all's take on the sneakers with any sort of suit, I feel like is really gaining traction. Like, more and more people, I feel like that's gotten really, that take online, I feel like, is now skewed more towards people that are like, if you're in any sort of jacket, you need to have dress shoes on. They're turning on y'all. It's people like us, or I'll speak for myself,
Starting point is 00:07:16 who are, I'm sneaky jealous that y'all get to do that. And then the fact that, like, y'all put on the suit and it's like, well, gonna put on these dope tennies. And it's just like you guys, y'all all have the look of like,
Starting point is 00:07:28 you know you're getting away with something. I think where it bleeds is like, okay, if you're doing a game and you're at a sporting event, it's like one of the only examples where you can really get away with it because it bleeds into people take that look and then do it at like a rehearsal dinner and you're like what is that? Yeah. Because I agree.
Starting point is 00:07:46 I would never do that at like an actual formal or even semi formal event. But in a sporting event, it's like, you know, I think we're in any sort of sneakers or Nikes or Jordans or whatever fits. I don't know. But I feel like when people take that and use it somewhere else, that's where people get like, what are you doing? It's the Orlovsky. He does it. Don't give him, though. He does it in studio, though.
Starting point is 00:08:11 Some of those guys do it in studio, which is less acceptable to me. You know what I mean? It's just, yeah, I get it. Well, I will concede that dressing up for the vent is extra. But I want to see what the ponchos look like in jeans, because I feel like that's where I'm going to be wearing the most. That's a little bit more preposterous than just going to try it on. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:31 What do you think it's going to look like in jeans? I don't know. whenever like if i get if i'm going to get new jeans i always wear boots to go try them on because i want to see what they look like over the boots and i just want to feel like a poncho jeans looks good too this guy's just trying to look cute he's just trying to look mad cute also klein is in the chat if you guys want to know oh shit did he how long has he been i don't see on the edge he just commented uh t o crying that's my quarterback dot gif oh let's go man coob old cleaner it's thursday you know what that means talking ball you know what else we're doing listener voicemails tomorrow only on patreon it's been a big week we did fan week taylor we had people uh call in and write stories

Starting point is 00:09:53 Damn. That's crazy. I think Jeff likes us more than anybody else. I know. Lucky for us. It's good to have him in the mix, gassing us up. Newsletter drops tomorrow. a wash.

Starting point is 00:10:40 at some point, right? You never know. Is it chat popping? I like a good Thursday chat session. I do too. It's also podcast week. It's important to note that, Randall. Of course. You know? What do we want to do? I wonder if Klein was around for the hospital ball
Starting point is 00:10:56 part. I don't know, Klein. If he's still tuned in here, we got to find the Louisiana Tech clip is that available on youtube maybe that being this is 2012 and not on we were not playing on national television so we got to find it i can dig that up need it yeah you know we talked about uh footwear we talked about what you wear in the booth as you're analyzing football um maybe get you some tocova's hoss all to cova's boots point your toes west to covis i got the cartwrights. Starting point is 00:12:56 This is not a good look for you, Taylor. Client, client comments, in regards to the hospital ball, dot, dot, dot, I sadly have to ask, Which one? Yeah, no, there were two. But A&M I did not throw, which I mean, maybe it's a bad sign. I got, it was actually pulled at that point of the game, and Dreyfus was in the game and threw that one to climb. But the Louisiana Tech one, that was my fault.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Damn. We'll see if we can find it. Or internet sleuths. We need someone to dig that up. There's a clip of him holding a, like a blocking pad and a, Yeah, when he was in Denver. In Denver. Yeah, there's a gif of that that lives in our group chat.
Starting point is 00:13:39 It's, it, it's, it's, it's crazy. It's so, it's crazy that someone can make Klein who's a big guy. These, these are big guys. It's not me. Look like a kid out there. It's just, there's just different. I think that guy also got, like he didn't even, there was just a contract offered. Like this was a, I'm pretty sure that was like a tryout and that was a, he's on his way.
Starting point is 00:14:04 put in some calls like dude this guy's the best this guy's out this guy can't read the room jee oh we love you klein uh dillon man what's up dude man this slate huh yeah we're getting slaty we got we have quite a slate this this weekend buddy i don't know if you've seen a lot of top 25 matchups don't buddy don't buddy me i'm sorry man uh we got the orange man in knoxville i'm new here i found you guys through uh ms nbc who is the orange man uh president donald trump We'll be in Knoxville for Texas at Tennessee, number one. I'm taking on number 14, I believe. You got to get in there.
Starting point is 00:14:43 You got to go to that. No, I'm not going, unfortunately. I try to wheeze them my way in. I have a connect. The Texas, I'm sorry, the Tennessee athletic program through my friend K.money, but he left me on red. Damn, just sneaky shout out to K.Money. Yeah, shout out KMoney.
Starting point is 00:15:01 How you feeling, Hoss? man, I don't know how good this team is. Speaking of Texas, I don't know how good, I don't know how good they are. I mean, they had the comeback against Ohio State, and I'm flying so high. I'm like, all right, we're going to carry this momentum. And they absolutely look like the offense looked terrible against UT San Antonio, just totally out of sync. I know they were running a very banella brand of offense against that team.
Starting point is 00:15:25 And a classic like letdown game, you know, emotional letdown after the Ohio State. All those are just kind of built-in excuses, I guess. I don't know how good this offense is. I really don't. What's more real, in your opinion? A trap game, the trap game effect, like looking ahead or the letdown? Like what you think just occurred with Texas potentially? I think a letdown game is more impactful than a looking ahead game.
Starting point is 00:15:51 I think so. Okay. No way to really quantify it. I'm just curious. Interesting thought. Matt Brown was on some program during some time this week, and he was talking about how hard it is to get up for every single game on a schedule. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:07 You know, to play your A game against every, you know, against every opponent is like almost an impossible task. So it happens. I mean, I mean, Texas National Championship year,
Starting point is 00:16:19 they barely beat Kansas that year. Like, let down games do happen. And boy, so that's what separates good teams from great teams. So it's kind of my thing. So I don't know what to make of this offense. I'm assuming they look much better than they did last weekend.
Starting point is 00:16:32 but I am very worried. I mean, Tennessee is obviously a good, a good team. You guys, Texas has an unbelievable front. They got one of the top rush defenses in the country. And they, like all the statistics, all the metrics, that's still impacted by, like, they played Ohio State once already this year. Right. You have a freshman quarterback for Tennessee,
Starting point is 00:16:54 Faison Brandon, which I always say backwards, but Faison Brandon. To me, this is one where, like, your offense probably doesn't have. have to do a ton and you should win this game. Yeah. A loss for Texas is like offense screws it up. You know, early turnovers. You're not playing the position battle. You're, I don't know, special teams there, like stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:17:17 Because this is going to be, you know, race to 24 points might win this game. Like, I don't think Tennessee is going to, this is not going to turn into a track meet. But for Texas fans, like, this has not been a good road team in league play. Last year, road wins in SEC play. Overtime against Kentucky, overtime against Mississippi State. Lost in Florida. Like, this is for Texas and who they want to be
Starting point is 00:17:42 and who I think Texas fans think they are, you want this to look. Sure. I was going to say you want it to look a certain way. Honestly, against Tennessee, you just want to get out of the win because there's a number of tests on this schedule, but like they've struggled on the road in the SEC play,
Starting point is 00:17:56 and this is a big one. You know, Dylan, do you fear like a Josh Hypoil revenge game like against you personally um taylor i've been i've been um critical of josh hypo and and like he's just so sloppy looking i do this is where you're like this is a high's a high's been winning quarterback everybody's hot as you man no i'm not i'm not i'm not saying that the guy has to be a hot guy but like when you're around like like at Athletes in peak physical condition at all times in your career and you just don't sniff the inside of a weight room at any point. I don't know you probably can't comment on this you can look at me
Starting point is 00:18:40 Considering you can talk to me about it. It's like dude He's just so he's just so sloppy man. He's so I tell you this coach is an offense a good offense nothing sloppy there. They run the ball does he they run the ball really well They're making this kid this phase on feller 18 years old, right? He's young Pretty good. I'm pretty good. Yeah. Big one.
Starting point is 00:19:04 That's how you do it. I didn't realize Camario Taylor was 19 years old. Oh, yeah. Stud. I, he, that dude. Stud. Oh, my God. They've got a, they got a matchup looming.
Starting point is 00:19:15 They got a match up looming against Bama next week, I believe. And that's going to be really fun. Yeah. Because you got Keelan, who I believe is 18. No, Keeling's not 18. They have been like 20. This weekend. That's, I know.
Starting point is 00:19:27 I don't mean to jump ahead to that. Mississippi State schedule is kind of crazy. But yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, this is fun. I, you know, I saw Sark called it the loudest stadium that he's ever been in. He's not the only one. But yeah, he did. He did say that. So there you go. Nailen is is a bucket list trip for me. I need to get out there at some point. I do love the night game at Nailen is pretty, pretty nasty. I met these guys recently. They were on like going to different stadiums on their bucket list. This guy Jed. And that's a back to the fan week.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Go listen to Fan Week. Only real backers know about that one. What else, man? I mean, this slate is just so slaty. It is. It's so good. This is, I mean, they're like, no one's talking about Oregon and USC.
Starting point is 00:20:16 Yeah. 20 versus 12 at SC. I mean, that one's like totally flown under the radar. Oregon, of course, beat Portland State 84 to zero last week. Yeah, not much. Iowa, Michigan, like, that's another ranked on rank. The one that outside of, of Texas that I'm most curious in is Ole Miss going to Florida.
Starting point is 00:20:35 That's going to be a interesting way. I think it's better than, you know, they get a win last week at Auburn. I think people realize they're better than they expected coming in this year. But they've got, I think, the best running back in college football and Jane Ball. Yeah, he's the guy's unbelievable. And he looks like Ezekiel Elliott. Like he's a big back, but has like real burst. That dude, if you have not watched Florida yet, check out some of that, that Ole Miss Florida game.
Starting point is 00:20:58 Florida, by the way, favored in that game. which is crazy. But, I mean, Florida is a good team. Their rush defense is not very good, though. Florida's rush defense. I've been watching that line, and it's just, it's interesting. That's what I'm going to keep an eye on. I'm very interested in it.
Starting point is 00:21:12 Hey, we mentioned, we mentioned fast uniforms. Fast-looking uniforms. Like, we talked about Penn State and how it just looks like a boring brand of football, and I said, well, they have slow uniforms. I think Florida also has a fast uniform. I think Miami has a fast uniform. I mentioned Oregon. I think you may just be looking at, like, conference and location compared to, like, Big Ten uniforms.
Starting point is 00:21:38 For me, it's bright colors. It's flash. Like, Texas doesn't have a fast uniform. Texas Road uniform. The white one is, is... I mean, those are the best. Those are the best in the world. Big Ten unfairly tracks slow. Although you can point to Ohio State. Yeah. But... I'm thinking, like, a historical Big Ten as well. I would be, if we like blind tested this, I would be curious how many of these you think are slow that are Adidas versus Nike. Okay.
Starting point is 00:22:06 Adidas gets slow. Doesn't it? Texas A&M. Under Armour gives slow. Yeah. Ooh. But you're going to know you got the Jordan brand. Kind of say.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Both of those offenses are slow. How many points are scored? It's true. How many points are scored in Iowa, Michigan? Oh, I don't think they get over 40. Is Michigan back? No. Michigan?
Starting point is 00:22:34 Emphatic. We're just asking questions. No. Michigan is. Michigan's, they got real problems on offense. Michigan and Oklahoma are like the same thing. Ooh, before I forget, this has nothing to do with this weekend slate. But we've got a conference winning quarterback, Taylor McCard here.
Starting point is 00:22:49 All right. The last play, NC State. We didn't even talk about this. As a quarterback, I think everybody knows what you're supposed to do, but what is that conversation before you go out there with your coach like no one should even get close to you and the moment someone gets close to you well let me back up the first thing that you're telling them is as soon as you get the ball there are two hands on the ball the entire time and the moment someone touches you or gets close get down or the other way you do
Starting point is 00:23:16 this is step to the back of the end zone that or it's student body right block everything as long as you can and get to the edge and then throw that thing as high and as far as you can out of bounds that that play, I think it was maybe, I can't remember if it was fourth down or not, but that play, they weren't going to throw it out of bounds. And I don't remember why. So if you're just going to take the safety, the part that was crazy is on the end zone copy, he's got the ball in one arm. And before he gets touched, I mean, it's like way away from his body, which like in any part of any game in your end zone or really anywhere on the field, like that shouldn't happen. But in that situation, I honestly, when I saw it, it felt like he thought,
Starting point is 00:23:59 that Vanderbilt was just going to kind of, like they were going to let the clock run out. He was surprised that they were coming after him, is how it looked to me. Right. And it just, the whole thing caught him off guard because the first coaching point is two hands on the ball the whole time.
Starting point is 00:24:11 Like, no question. And then the moment somebody gets even close to you, just go down. So it was crazy. That was the worst. I mean, he'll never forget that the rest of his life.
Starting point is 00:24:22 It's a gutting way to lose a game, man. Okay. Terrible. In, in every level football you play, did you ever have anything? remotely close to that my kind of my first
Starting point is 00:24:33 ever carry in little league football we're playing up in leander on a field that like the bunch of games before us and i thought i was in the end zone on a long run and i stopped and like held the ball up and i was like the five yard line
Starting point is 00:24:49 and i got tackled and fumbled uh i did not score leon let super bowl yeah no situational awareness oh my god that was brutal man you know dylan took one at the house pick six his first play 60 yards he with football first game of peewee uh corsairs pewy football porcars i housed it 60 yards interception what year was this i was 12 years old you'll have helmets no this was 90 uh probably 96 this happened 96 she she good year yeah that's like prime dion
Starting point is 00:25:24 did you think about high stepping i was just dude i just saw a pay dirt I just wanted to, I think I ran through the Indian zone. I just wanted to spat my cleats when I was in, I thought that was the coolest thing that they, like the high school kids when you go to high school games at Leander. Yeah. They had, you know, the tape on the cleats. I don't know why. I thought that was like the coolest thing. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:41 I wanted to spat. I was like taping up. I'm like asking my mom to buy tape. Do you see Texas going with the burn orange tape? I did. I didn't love that. I didn't love that. They won't burn orange socks and tape.
Starting point is 00:25:51 That's like something I would have done on a creative player back in the day. Archdeans had put his leg sleep back on. I think he lost some of his power when he took him. it off without the leg sleeve the leg sleeve is dope a dope look would you play with the brace no come on man i'm just i don't know what your limits are dude see the flames kind of sick right what if we got them to sponsor i appreciate the commitment to the bit to keep it on during the show well i didn't at first and these guys made me do it and i was just you know who am i trying to kid here it helps like it's helping so i'm gonna wear it as long as it helps
Starting point is 00:26:22 you think it's funny it just got a brace during the show i think it's funny like there's not going to be a contact injury during the show. No, certainly not. Certainly not. Did you guys ever, did you guys do what we did? So I didn't play football at the highest level. I was very competitive and I wasn't the biggest lad. He was starting nose tackle on the state championship.
Starting point is 00:26:42 For Duncanville. Yeah, I believe that. Did you guys used to shred up the shirt under, like the workout shirts? We did not have cut them up. Oh, my God. We did not. My high school was terrible. We didn't do anything fun.
Starting point is 00:26:56 Where'd you go? Vista Ridge up in Cedar Park. We were horrible. Was that a new high school? My freshman year, we started, our quarterback failed a class. I got brought up to varsity. We played Dallas Roosevelt. D-I-S-D?
Starting point is 00:27:10 And I mean, I'm 14 years old. We're playing their varsity. And they had a middle linebacker going somewhere. I want to say A&M. And I mean, I'm like still, on any sporting event ever, the most scared. Probably the only time I've ever been actually scared of like, I don't know that this is like, The best idea.
Starting point is 00:27:28 Yeah. That was like 140 pounds. I bound. There's a, there's a running back from DeSoto that was a, I was on the Duncanville B team, as you can probably imagine. But DeSoto had a running back who had to play on the B team. He was an A teamer, but he got demoted for something other than football. And I was free safety and I run up and he gets, he just blows through our linebackers.
Starting point is 00:27:50 And I'm like, well, it's up to me. And I just remember trying to wrap him up and just, and absolutely just bouncing off. And it's one that you never recover from. I know that this is what your listeners, like the Pop Warner Middle School High School stories from, I know that this is what they want, right? No, they like it. They absolutely do.
Starting point is 00:28:10 No, they like it. It's relatable. I'm like, I'm waiting for Randy to tilt us head over and be like, man, you guys are getting crushed in the chat. One of our fraternity brothers is from Palestine, Texas. Oh, yeah, Adrian Peterson. He was on, he played, he was on the team. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:23 And he had to tackle him in practice. He has some funny stories about that. No. That's not. Yeah. I do have, as far as things that I'm looking at over here, I do have the A&M targeting on Kline and the him getting run over on the blocking pad if you guys are interested. Can we play the A&A?
Starting point is 00:28:41 Is Klein okay with those plans? He dropped it in the chat? Oh, no. Brett got gave me the A&M one. It's public domain. Play the A&M one. A&M one? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:51 Real quick. What are your thoughts on this week's JFF, F3? The what? The JFF Big 3 Just for Fun Big 3 It's a proprietary Let's just do this We'll come back to this one first
Starting point is 00:29:04 All right Okay, all right I wasn't bench The game was just out of hand Okay, that makes more sense 52 I wasn't benched Oh put up 28
Starting point is 00:29:13 Yeah we scored 24 in the first half So not 24 21 maybe Oh is that the game Where Manzell only played the second half Yeah he only played the second half Yeah All right.
Starting point is 00:29:25 I play this one. Roll this puppy. Oh. Oh. I didn't know the... We didn't need the... Yeah, I didn't know. Oh, dude, he got...
Starting point is 00:29:35 He popped right up. Yeah. Apparently, that was the first targeting. That's like, that's a sternum. That's a sternum. This is... He kind of launched, but... I think he got called for targeting, which...
Starting point is 00:29:43 Yeah, it's apparently the first one ever in college football. Wait, what? First targeting call, according to this week one game? Yeah, this was the hottest game of my life. of my life. Dude, shout out to Klein for getting up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:59 He was like laying on the flag. Dude, it looked like the flag just came out of his pants. Did he have a flag? Did he drop it? Like sneaky? God, look at that. Yeah, there's a launch there, maybe.
Starting point is 00:30:10 I don't know. Some intent. We need an analyst here for this. My boy right. Dude, I had a horrible game last week on the reviews. Oh, for three. We're like,
Starting point is 00:30:19 they go to a review and I give my opinion. They come back and it's the opposite. sit. I'm like, okay. What am I here for? Are you still working with Ted? Emrick? Oh, yeah. I mean, I don't work with him this year because I won't do anything with ESPN. He got a bump. He got a big promotion this year. So he's paired up with Fossey Whitaker each week. So Ted's great. He's one of the best. Klein also clarifies and says here it was the first targeting ejection in college football. A little slice of history. The right side is doing a lot of work on. relevant is there's a lot college football history
Starting point is 00:31:00 do you play go ahead and play the blocking one too from Denver practice might as well might as well we're already here let me get this on screen
Starting point is 00:31:12 okay he's so mad sneaky sneaky watch the player just do his hands like wait what was I suppose to like watch he felt bad was I supposed to throw him down like oh yeah that we're going full speed here and I would be so I would be furious like dude you're your you're cut
Starting point is 00:31:41 that's great uh jffb3 if you're not familiar I suggest for fun big three it's just a little proprietary list I put together at the end of each week just teams that I are on my door okay uh I'm just having fun watching. Okay. Who's included in that? Mississippi State. Yeah, 100%. Utah.
Starting point is 00:32:02 Yeah, of course. 2 QB system. And then a lot of people are coming at me in the DMs about this. And you know what? I don't freaking care. Texas State. That Texas State, North Texas game was fun. Texas State had a sneaky, difficult non-conference schedule.
Starting point is 00:32:19 Obviously Texas. But like, UTSA is one of the best teams in the American, and North Texas is pretty. good. So the fact that they got North Texas, like that was a good win. That was a good win. Thank you. Utah is a ton of fun. They have two quarterbacks and they do it right. Like a lot of teams try to do two quarterbacks and they screw it up. They have like actual package plays where they got both of them in the game and it's hard for defenses. Like they've got to play where they're line up next one or another, two quarterbacks hand it off. The one that hands the ball off becomes the option back and
Starting point is 00:32:50 then they go run option. Like that stuff is that's really good. I haven't watched them play yet. This is the... You need to start taking this thing seriously, dude. Are there any teams that are fun for you to watch? Who would be on your JFF Big 3 right now? Oh, man. Mississippi State's on there just for QB1.
Starting point is 00:33:11 Man, I really hope... Louisville. Hit the portal. Louisville is a call. Louisville? Yeah. I mean, that's a really good player. I had SMU poised to jump into the JFFP 3, but that loss.
Starting point is 00:33:23 Louisville is a good one. I still really like Houston. Connor Wegman, like, best change of scenery ever for a dude that got run out of town today. Yeah. Like, he's really playing well. They really had a chance to beat Tech.
Starting point is 00:33:39 I mean, the number one most fun team to watch that you're like, this looks unfair, is Miami when they have the ball. Yeah. Miami on offense is like, especially playing in the ACC. Isn't his completion percentage, like, 85 plus? Yeah, he started,
Starting point is 00:33:53 against Wake, he was 24-24 to start the game. That's pretty good. Malachi Tony is unbelievable. Oof. Yeah, watch Miami against whoever they play. It doesn't matter. When they have the ball. Who do they got this weekend?
Starting point is 00:34:07 I don't know. They have, well, maybe don't watch this week. They're playing Central Michigan on the CW. Okay. There's no shade of the CW. I just, it's probably not. Of the slate of games we have, that one's probably not making the monitor.
Starting point is 00:34:19 The only other big game we haven't talked about, I guess, is, have we talked much about A&M at LSU? I'm stealing a phrase from the cover three podcast that I thought was hilarious, the anxiety bowl. Like that perfectly describes these two teams both thought they were going to have, well, let me back up. LSU can still, I think they're still a very good team, and I think they win this game.
Starting point is 00:34:44 I mean, A&M is a, what's the spread in this? I don't know. A&M is a eight and a half point dog. Wow, that's big. LSU probably covers. A&M is not good on offense. They're not, man. And against Kentucky, that game should have been worse.
Starting point is 00:35:01 Like, they lost by multiple scores, and it should have been worse. And I don't, you know, there's nothing about what they've shown on offense. Like, do I think they're going to go to Death Valley and figure it out on offense? No, I don't think so. Yeah, Marcel Reed, he, he's struggling, man. He's looked so good at times when they let him run around a little bit. But man, he just, he's so inaccurate with the ball. Yeah, I don't think they're going to be.
Starting point is 00:35:27 I mean, and they, last year, all of their SEC wins were in the bottom half. All of them at one were in the bottom half of the SEC. And it's the opposite this year. They got a really tough schedule. There's a couple, a couple of teams I want to talk about hearing us say. But before we do, I got to talk about Dylan's favorite sponsor, FitBod. There we go. FitBod.
Starting point is 00:35:47 You know what's, whether you're working out at home, gym, college dorm, Dylan, FitBod customizes workouts based on when equipment is available to you. I'm just making sure you're listening. You know the drill. You go to, okay, Taylor, you're staying a lot of hotels all the time. You ever hit the hotel gym? Yeah. Typically a little light on the weights, right? Not a ton of, you know, some are better than others. Some are better than others. Here's what FitBod does. You tell them the equipment you got available and what your goals are, your fitness level, it'll pump you out a personalized workout routine. The workout, the workout adapt to your growth, so each session is challenging enough to push you to make progress.
Starting point is 00:36:25 And FitBod tracks your muscle recovery so you can avoid burnout and keep up your momentum. I'll be standing at my parents' place this weekend. And my dad's got, I always mention two 20-pound dumbbells sitting in that garage. I always hop into FitBod and say, this is what I got. This is what I want to do. Get me out of here. FitBod builds the plan. You build the strength.
Starting point is 00:36:43 Get 25% off your FitBod subscription or try the app free for seven days at FitBod. dot me slash team that's steam excuse me that's f i t b o d dot m e slash steam fitbod uh somebody on this show one time said i don't know if that person's even still on the show of serious teams don't play on friday night that being said we do have a team we haven't discussed really at all this season indiana hosting northwestern not that i think that's going to be a great game but it's a Friday night game might just turn on, say, what's Indiana got going on? Boo. Boo. What's up? Oh, Rusty Tapp, Randy's booing.
Starting point is 00:37:24 Boo. Oh, yeah, Purdue guy here. I haven't watched Indiana play yet. I would say that's a lot of people. Yeah, both, too. Yeah, just as a reminder of Indiana's schedule so far this year, North Texas, Howard and Western Kentucky. That's why I haven't watched Indiana play yet. So they have, they've allowed 16 points through three weeks. They're on back. to back to back shutouts over Howard and Western Kentucky and Northwestern is probably not going to score a lot.
Starting point is 00:37:50 Not to put you on the spot. How's a TCU kid, Hoover? How's he looking? Good. I mean, they. He looks, he has not turned it over at the clip that he did last year, but they haven't played. He has not been tested at all.
Starting point is 00:38:04 And he's not going to be tested probably until at Nebraska. I mean, their schedule in October gets, it gets tough. They go at Nebraska, home against Ohio State, home against Michigan. So they'll find out. Don'tlet. Yeah. Okay. And then Georgia.
Starting point is 00:38:21 We've not really discussed Georgia for similar reasons. Kind of the same thing. I've described Georgia as like the least exciting elite team. I'm a huge Gunner Stockton fan. I think that's a really good team. I think they're better on offense than they were last year. But it's kind of the same thing. Like they haven't.
Starting point is 00:38:39 The unfortunate thing with like Arkansas, and they are already, they've already. we've already quit on the season. That was not a road test in the SEC. That was like going to play I don't know. Middle of the pack American conference. Like Tulsa has their quarterback hurt.
Starting point is 00:38:56 They're going to Arkansas and they're only a touchdown dog to Arkansas. Jeez. From Tulsa. Now Tulsa did be- Oklahoma State. Who's Oklahoma State got? When did they open up conference?
Starting point is 00:39:08 Mess to make her. Who do they have? Let's see. Putting everybody on the spot here. Let's C. Who's Purdue got, Randolph. Number three, Notre Dame.
Starting point is 00:39:21 I'm sure it's going to be a real, real close one. That line is interesting. Oh, yeah. It's a really interesting. This is a really good one, and this is a night game. So all the UT fans, those on the screen. Oklahoma State is at West Virginia. West Virginia is 3 and O.
Starting point is 00:39:40 Michael Hawkins. Michael Hawkins, Jr., who transferred from OU. Is the, you wishes they had back. highest rated per PFF grade in the country. And they just went and beat Virginia, who was ranked a week ago. So that, I mean, that's a really good game. I'll watch that game. I'll be on a flight back.
Starting point is 00:39:56 I'll watch that game. That has JFFB3 implications for sure. That's another fun team. Throw West Virginia in the mix. West Virginia, good call. Oh, you also ran off Dylan. What's his last name? quarterback for the Browns?
Starting point is 00:40:11 Gabriel. Dylan Gabriel for Arnold. They have a recent history of running off. And now they've got really good quarterbacks for not so good quarterbacks. He's it. He's at UNLV and they're not good. No, they're not. Man, that sucks because they look decent that first game.
Starting point is 00:40:29 Pull them for them, third school or whatever. Third school? You know, I like to see this kid have success. Dylan, you got any OU takes? Anything you want to throw out there while you have the analyst here? I mean, I covered that pretty good on Monday. I just get your. Their offense, their offensive line, their left tackle is hurt.
Starting point is 00:40:49 And he is probably their best offensive player overall. Lachitaine is a good, a good receiver. Offensive line is struggling at tier is just not, he just didn't have it. Did you see the reports? What was the, what's the guy's name who got hurt, the D. Lyman? David Stone. Yeah. They were, they were pushing back on, they were trying to say that he did not get hurt
Starting point is 00:41:11 in the manner in which we discussed. But I haven't seen like what the disposition of that. The rumor was that he had like a dislocated kneecap because he was taking reps at fullback in practice for some kind of jumbo goal line package. Fans were pissed off, like get Venables out of here, risking our best defensive player, taking full back snaps, which is a thing that teams do. I don't think. Yeah, I don't think it's that crazy.
Starting point is 00:41:35 He criticized too much for that. There's other things you criticize them for. The press conference, Venables, he cleared the air. He said, actually, he was not taking offensive snaps. and also he's like probable this week. Like he might play. It's not a long-term injury, so that's good. Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:49 Two touchdown dog at Georgia. That's not good. I don't see how they score more than nine points against Georgia. It does not look good. And I'm a huge Ben Arbuckle fan, the OU officer coordinator. They can't run the football. And if you can't run... Why are you a Ben Arbuckle fan?
Starting point is 00:42:12 What about a Ben Arbuckle fan? What about it? his offense. We had two of their games when he was at Washington State with Mateer, and what they look like on offense right now is not, it looks like he's either got, whether it's by his head coach telling him he needs to keep it under wraps or they just are limited with their offensive line, but it's not nearly as creative as what we saw a couple years ago when he was at Washington State. I don't even think it's as creative as he was last year. It was like they were, they were trying more a year ago and it wasn't working.
Starting point is 00:42:45 This year, it looks like they're in base offense and they're not pushing the ball down field. And I think a lot of it is they can't run the ball. Like, Meteer is like a lot of quarterbacks in college where like you can't, he's not going to drop back on third and seven and go through a full field read and pick up a first down throwing the football. Like that's not his game. He needs to get it to third and short.
Starting point is 00:43:05 And you're scheming open guys. There's, you know, one read and there's two routes. Like that's, you know, you got to be able to run the football for him to have success. and they're not. He's freaking jacked though, dude. He did put weight on. Yeah, he put mass on. Like, I don't understand.
Starting point is 00:43:22 Everyone's expecting him to have a breakout season. As a guy who respects big, swall-jacked dudes, I feel like we need to. It's such an overblown every off-season. Oh, this dude, you got fucking ripped. He's about to break out. No, he's not. He's a sane guy.
Starting point is 00:43:36 Hey, hard pivot. You guys fall on the AL West? Not really. Four games to play. Stros, Rangers, knotted up. We're tied up. Fort play, you said. Astros have the tiebreaker, however.
Starting point is 00:43:53 And just a little fun fact, courtesy of a play-by-play, radio guy, of the Texas Rangers, Jared Sandler. The worst record ever for a Major League Baseball Division winner is 82 and 80. That's the 2020, or excuse me, the 2005 Padres. Unless either the Rangers of the Astros go four and O, to. close the season. AOS Division winner is going to have 81 or fewer wins. New low point for the division winning records
Starting point is 00:44:21 for Twitter. That's wild. That is crazy. So the Rangers, they went into the Final Six games, they're hosting the Mets right now. They're one game up on the Astros. And they've just lost two. Look terrible. Aren't the Mets terrible?
Starting point is 00:44:38 Mets aren't good. Mets aren't good. So they're knotted up with four to play. They got one more with the Mets, and then who's their last series for the Rangers? On the road in Minnesota. Are the twins any good? No. But.
Starting point is 00:44:52 But. But either are the Mets. So I go to bed last night thinking, like, well, that's that. Astros are up 4-0 in Seattle. Like, they're about to take, they're going to, you know, be in the driver's seat. They'll effectively have a two-game lead because of the tiebreaker. Wake up this morning, you know, looking at Twitter like any healthy person does, just right when you were out of bed. Just want to see what can get me mad.
Starting point is 00:45:12 and see the Astros blew a four-run lead and lost in extras to the Mariners. So there's still it. It's just hilarious. It's the shittiest division ever. It's so bad. And I'm still following it, and it's so miserable.
Starting point is 00:45:27 It's funny when those teams go on a run too. Because I feel like it happens in baseball. Somebody sneaks in, they win their division, or they're in the wild card. And then you look up and they're like in the ALCS. I also don't know what I'm talking about with baseball, but feels like something that happens.
Starting point is 00:45:41 No, yeah, you're there. Sure. Well, how about this? It was 23 when Rangers blew the division, lost by one game to the, I think, took the division. I guess the Astros. Rangers going as a wild car as a wild car team and then go on to win the World Series. So things happen. Baseball.
Starting point is 00:46:04 And every visiting team won in the World Series, which is a wild one. I don't think I've ever seen that. Yeah, and you remember that Astros series, the ALCS, the same thing, I guess. Every visiting team, yeah. Is that right? Is that what you just said? You said the World Series. Right, right, right.
Starting point is 00:46:22 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Went seven games and every home team lost. Crazy. That's talking baseball with Dave. New segment alert. I was looking at the standings. The White Sox might, you know, who knows? Who is the best team in baseball?
Starting point is 00:46:37 I think the Brewers, the Brue crew. I mean, I think they, the standings I saw, they have the most wins, if that means anything. I haven't looked at the standings in a minute. I mean, it's just been. Yeah, they got a 12-game lead on the Cubs. We're rocking with the Cubs. Robs, my son keeps asking me when we're going to a Cubs game. You all been to Riggily?
Starting point is 00:46:57 Yes. I went just a few weeks ago. Nope. Yeah. I remember this. Yeah. It's awesome. We did a content trip out there to Chicago like a while back.
Starting point is 00:47:07 And yeah, we hit Wrigley. It was great. That was a trip with Cube. we were there we were all in chicago for a wedding it was the first game in 2021 that they opened up wrigley for full capacity post-covid and it was a day game on a friday against the cardinals that place fuck so hard sellout crowd um bill murray saying the seventh inning stretch dude this is the coolest that's awesome parks and i went to a a wednesday one o'clock first pitch game it's like it's like no one in town goes to work yeah everyone is this either in or around
Starting point is 00:47:40 the stadium it's just a great baseball town as Randy knows socks fan never been to Wrigley it's awesome yeah that blow is my mind found out that they won in 1908 uh what 1908 because of a boner or something like that okay not a traditional boner not a traditional a different boner oh okay almost like a what it we never really dug into that it's like a boneheaded play a bone headed play they called it a boner real bone hat in the stage was a 1908 you know they did different terminology yeah drop that on air there you go yeah you sneak it yeah for us see that one in there just a bond that's just a bonner play right there
Starting point is 00:48:22 give a nod to the backers no why my mic not working uh let's do this weekend of fun hey it's hard money mic it's time for this weekend in thought bro let's go out this weekend there's a crazy event happening i like to turn up bro there's a crazy event happening i like to turn up Broden, there's a crazy event happening. Let them know circling back sent you. Lisa.com promo code steam. Let's go to the guest, what you got this weekend. Man, we have a really fun game.
Starting point is 00:50:19 I'm leaving it at my flights at 430 today. We're at Toledo again. It's San Diego State Toledo. Anybody that probably a lot of your listeners don't follow Toledo football, but go look up how they won last week. They're the only team in modern college football history to come back from 14 points down
Starting point is 00:50:38 with under a minute and 30 seconds and still win. So they got touchdown on side, touchdown in a minute and 11 seconds. And then when it's sent to overtime, won, and then they're back home against San Diego State, who's a good team. So we got a good one. It'll be a fun
Starting point is 00:50:54 group of six game, both of these teams. San Diego State probably not as much, but like Toledo's outside shot it at the Mac and getting into the college football playoff if they were to run the table. So it's a good one. And I got the other thing that like you got, you know, whatever. I don't have like a ton of status on any of the airlines like American or Delta,
Starting point is 00:51:16 but I got the notification while I was in here that I got the upgrade, which like I don't get to fly first class card than ever. I was wondering what you're looking at over there. That's exciting. I'm like so excited about it. Dude you made it. Because I don't, that does not happen a lot. And that really.
Starting point is 00:51:30 Why do they decide to do it? They were watching the show. I clearly, there's not very many people on this. They saw you on circling back. That's awesome. So that, yeah, pretty pumped about that. That's my weekend and fun. And I can come back Saturday night because we're an early kick.
Starting point is 00:51:43 So I get my full Sunday. I got soccer with our oldest on Sunday. Love that. That's my weekend and fun. Heck yeah. Dylan. Interesting fact about, I just learned this about Trump being at the game in Knoxville this weekend.
Starting point is 00:51:57 Anytime that he mobilizes, all communication in the stadium is cut. So Sark said they won't be able to communicate. with guys in the box or the helmet communication. Isn't that weird? I guess it makes sense, but... Does that not go to games? Yes. So they said they have to, you know,
Starting point is 00:52:15 revert back to the old ways of communicating plays. Coach-to-player communication is cut or the president is in the building? When he, I think when he's like on the move. If he has to go to the bathroom or like at a hot dog. Or leave or leave. They have to, they cut it. Yeah. Isn't that wild?
Starting point is 00:52:29 That's insane. Yeah. That's actually crazy. That is crazy. Anyway, my weekend. Parks has a baseball game Friday. His swings looking good. I'm hoping,
Starting point is 00:52:41 expecting some good things out of him on Friday. They need the dub, their 0-1-1. So that'll be fun. Must-win game. Must-win game. Then I'll come home and watch whatever's left of the Indiana game.
Starting point is 00:52:51 Heck yeah. Friday night. Friday night. Unsurious programs. And then, yeah, I'm just, I'm watching ball on Saturday. Of course, we got the early kick in Knoxville. I'm really excited about this one.
Starting point is 00:53:02 Of course, I'm anxious about this one like I always am. Oh, that's an early. early kick it's an early kick 11 a.m. Yeah. Oh, that's nice for y'all. It benefits Texas, sure. That's pretty much all I got, man. I don't have anything else going on the rest of the weekend. Randy, you want to tell them?
Starting point is 00:53:18 Oh, I want to tell them. Randy and I are, we got a little road trip. We got a little road trip off. Friday, not doing much, but Saturday I will not be watching any football because I'll be on my way up to Arlington, along with Dave and his son and my girlfriend to go watch some banana ball. We got tickets to go see the Savannah bananas face, the Texas tailgators, and we will be attending the game on Saturday. Hey, the tailgators are kind of nice. I'm kind of rocking with the
Starting point is 00:53:46 tailgators. I've seen as you should. Where is this? Is that at MetLife? At Globe Life. Global Life. Yeah. I'm, by the way, to be clear, we're not, we're not riding in the same vehicles. No. We're not carpool. Why not? I just a little bit. I've never met Meg. Can I say her name? Sorry. Yeah. She's never met my son. She would love Rhodes. And also my son, yeah, he's a charmer. But I'm just, you know, they're in the back seat, just like, it's just Rhodes is sitting there. His car seat and she's sitting there.
Starting point is 00:54:15 This lady. Yeah, I'm trying to figure out what the seating arrangement would be. That'd be the least awkward. You up front with her and then I'm back with Rhodes or how that would all work. But now they're staying, you're staying at your parents' house. I know. And I'm staying. We'll be getting a hotel room.
Starting point is 00:54:31 And so, yeah, be heading up there. We're going to get to watch some banana ball. some players. I don't know. I'm thinking about wearing my yellow little easy shirt. It's got to be something wacky. I don't know. I might wear my Texas baseball jersey. Who knows? You should wear your Texas baseball jersey. I'm thinking that or that's a cool jersey. Or on a Prisinski jersey. This will be, yeah, this will be the, the Rangers are going to be out of town. They're going to be in Minnesota. And so we're getting the bananas are getting globe life. It's just, we're doing. on it. Yeah. We got a...
Starting point is 00:55:07 Rhodes doesn't know about them. Is he pumped? He's like, he didn't know, he didn't know a banana ball. He's been to a Round Rock Express game. Okay. And I'm like, he's like, I was showing him clips and like all the clips online are like, it's all just like the dancing and he's like, dad, these guys don't have, he's like, dad, this guy doesn't have a shirt on.
Starting point is 00:55:28 I was like, yeah, I'm like, he's like, this doesn't look like baseball. I was like, he's a purest. It's different. Well, he appears to be a purist, but we'll see. I'm going to have to really, like, let him know. The Rangers. I will say that it did say in the schedule that it says the show starts at 630, not the game. So I don't even think they consider it a game.
Starting point is 00:55:50 You're going to hit you with a couple dance numbers first before they get the, you know. Is it scripted? Is it like WWE? I don't think the games are. Well, I mean, certain moments within the game are scripted, but I think the actual, like, gameplay is, like, is legitimate. Yeah. Legitimate. What?
Starting point is 00:56:05 Yeah, what time are we supposed to go? The festivities started two. So I think we're going to try to get there before. What does that mean? Like, like everything up there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:15 Do I need to be there with my son? Because he's not going to make it from two to nine. You don't have to. Don't do all that. It's like concert kind of shit. You're not going to want to do all that stuff. He's not going to want to do all that stuff. Who do you think he's playing?
Starting point is 00:56:26 They got like Slipknot or something? So hooty and the blowfish probably. Okay, Hootie? I would rock. I would go see that. We're hoping to meet Derek Kleena, the guy that's from Brock.
Starting point is 00:56:34 Broadway and maybe the couple that's on Dancing with the Stars now. So we want to go actually meet something. Hey, bring your glove. If you catch a foul ball, it counts as it out. He's more excited than Rhodes. I told Dave, if I catch a foul ball, I'm going to twerk. Don't twerk next to my son. Oh, fine.
Starting point is 00:56:51 Don't. How are we going to sit? Are you going to sit next to because I kind of want Meg, I want Megan Rhodes to sit next to each other. I just want, I want, like, I want Rhodes just be like very like. making fart jokes and stuff. God, he's got to chill with that. It's my fault.
Starting point is 00:57:08 Yeah, I don't know, man. This is going to be, we got good seats, by the way. I don't know if you look like, yeah,
Starting point is 00:57:13 those are good seats. Behind home plate, second level, a little bit down the third baseline. I had to start. And this is not how it's going to go, but what if they like did like a bit,
Starting point is 00:57:23 like knowing like the circling back guys are there? They're like, these guys really ripped us. And I'm like, no, no, I'm like, the guy's actually not here.
Starting point is 00:57:30 The guy really didn't like y'all. It's like not here. but I just like I have to like go with it. I'm like, yeah, banana ball stinks. Yeah. Yeah. I'm very anti-banana ball. Well, how much was it take to get you to skip a college football Saturday and tomorrow's Texas game to go to a banana ball game? There really isn't a circumstance where that's in play.
Starting point is 00:57:50 But what amount of money? $20,000. 10 graded in cash. You're not doing it. If you put that cash in front of me on the table, I might look at it like, all right, I'll fucking do it. Unless it's like a really big football game that I couldn't. Okay. And as it's a content play, everything's getting expensed.
Starting point is 00:58:09 Everything's going on the company card. All the food, all the jerseys, everything about all the sun. Man, it's going to be so fun. It sucks. You're missing out on this. Yeah, I can't wait to get $100. No. You're just a deep.
Starting point is 00:58:18 That ain't happened. You're a seat player content guy. You know, going to banana ball. You're not a serious, man. You're not serious. You're not serious. Says the guys who are going to fucking banana ball. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:30 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. serious people and i did i did look up uh medieval times doesn't have a show until five on sunday so probably will not be trying to mix that into but i did look i wanted to go to medieval times dinner and tournament that's too much zany shit in one weekend and there's never enough zany shit roads has a t-ball game uh noon on sunday so we've got to get up early i'm gonna hit up donut right there in duncanville you know donut everybody knows donut i've been there you have my grandpa
Starting point is 00:58:58 You know, I told you this. My grandparents taught at Duncanville High School. They probably taught you. I mean, they probably still talk about me. Dude, I was so good on flashcards. Oh, shit. No, dude, donut goes hard. Yeah, well, we're going to get on the road, get back.
Starting point is 00:59:14 T-ball. We've got T-ball practice tomorrow. Five o'clock. Great time slot, not hot. Well, hot still. But Coldfront coming, Dylan. We're just talking about this. Five o'clock Friday tea ball practice.
Starting point is 00:59:25 It's a mild cool front. And that would be virtual. It's coming. Dude, it's like the third one we've had to. Dial into that one. It's brutal. It's brutal. It's dad's like getting,
Starting point is 00:59:33 I'm lucky I've got a fun, a fun job that I can go and just be there. But like, there's dads to like pull up and like slacks and a button down. I had to leave work early. Like, oh, dude, it's brutal. And then you get out there and you're just, kids are just, it's Friday.
Starting point is 00:59:48 Five. The kids are just effing around. Ooh, what if you get him like a banana ball bat that he just gets the rip on as soon as a wooden bat. No, he's got a nice. bat that he rips and he the most annoying thing is when your kid has like he's got a great bat that he hits a not a de marini it's the other italian what's murucci marucci and then i'll watch him
Starting point is 01:00:08 he'll like i'll watch him go like get in the on deck circle and he'll grab like dad i'm gonna hit so-and-so's bat i'm like don't don't hit your bashing right dude you have a good bat hit your bat there's a reason you're the king of extra base hits man that's what i call him anyway i'm excited that's gonna be fun We're going to, it's a quick trip. I'm going to miss the entire slate, sadly. But you know what? We'll see. Maybe, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:00:35 We'll see how long we make it. I'm very, I'm very interested in what road thoughts are going to be about banana ball. Because he somehow, I don't know if any of his friends have gone. So he, because he was utterly unfamiliar with it. And you'll be surprised to learn that it's not on in our household very frequent.
Starting point is 01:00:48 Although I have watched. When the tailgators are on, I do, I keep it on, just support Texas, you know. He's going to leave there. just a banana ball kid.
Starting point is 01:00:58 What if he just leaves their hate and I'm going to be sad for it. He hates. He's like, yeah, this is fucking goofy. I'm going to have to open up a wallet, get him up some kind of wacky-ass jersey. Company card.
Starting point is 01:01:08 Yeah. Yeah, dude. Yeah, we'll see about it. It's a write-off. Which means it doesn't exist. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:15 Right. It's free. Exactly. Shout us to banana ball. They, like, they reached out and gave us tickets because Dylan's such an asshole to them. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:01:22 you're welcome, by the way. Yeah, I put us on their radar. They wanted you to do. to go through the first pitch, but we're like, he won't go. He wants to watch Texas. Yeah, football's on. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:01:32 Can't get here soon enough. You got comments of the week ready? Yes, I do. Let's do it. All right, these are Randy's comments of the week. Joe comments, new Brett sounds too much like KJ. Nickname might have to be BJ. I don't think that's going to happen.
Starting point is 01:01:47 But there was also probably like five more comments about how much Brett and KJ sound like on that episode. That's why I brought that on. For me, it's slight. I have not been on the other. I have not listened to him, like, outside of, like, talking to him on the show, so I don't know. I need to have them in the same rooms because I really, I can't hear it at all. It's weird.
Starting point is 01:02:07 Micah, not our Micah, different Micah, comments. Dylan, my son, 13 weeks, wants to be the first baby to congratulate you and Chee-Chi on your future baby. I listen to the pod so much while pregnant that it generally calms him so he knows all about the upcoming babies. that's very sweet and heartwarming thank you very much that's putting all the other baby backers thank you to the little baby uh Dave there are dozens us that catch your chavelle references dozens I forgot to put who put that down but I guess you're this is a common thing people are just keep on commenting about your chival references what are you saying it's constantly in the chat I don't know what they're talking about I just I just be chival which a band I know that much
Starting point is 01:02:52 nothing man I just, I'm, really it's over my head. It's like, once every like three episodes, someone's like, I call it the Chevelle reference, Dave. I don't even know what they're talking about, these kids. Griffin, I'm going to do these two quick back to back because they're about the same thing. Griffin comments,
Starting point is 01:03:08 The way my serotonin levels rose during the JFFB3 segment with the background music, wow. And then Zach commented, is Randy loading into a lobby of Wii Sports? What's with this music during Slate Talk? So it's a very polarizing year here. There's an audio bed. It's an industry term for, like, music that plays in the background, subtle.
Starting point is 01:03:28 Yeah. You're in a seg. You probably knew that. It's very corporate. You're an analyst. He works in media. We're talking about. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:34 I don't know half the phrases that we, I mean, I hear them every week. You know what a hard out is? Like, stop talking. Yeah. That's like the only phrase I could tell you. You know what a cold open is? Randy's favorite thing. No.
Starting point is 01:03:45 On file, cold open, if you actually, like, prepare a cold open. What if Taylor would have sat down and a minute? You know, well, let's do the cold open. That would have really. put you in a spot you get recording you to start talking without the intro music no intro it's not it's very informal yeah we have all sorts of stuff that i'm like i don't know what that is you just go up there and talk ball we did an advancer last week that's scary i i hate those because you like steals your open i have to like come up with two opens i don't like those an advanceer like if the game the game before us we know
Starting point is 01:04:17 is going to end early we have to have something that fills some time for the studio oh but it's like a preview of the open so like you can't say the same thing twice have you done a promo where you like give a football and you're just like you're not really talking but you're like just doing the ball up spinning it have you done one yet um we did a thing where like i was spinning the ball for like we were on camera and we had like the camera from across the way see like that's an example i should know the names of all the different cameras i actually don't like i know where our pit camera is and i know low end zone high end zone all 22 but like we'll have somewhere they're like oh we're going to go to this angle and I'm like it's gonna be breaking news to me where this comes from all 22 you say you ever do the illustrator
Starting point is 01:05:01 thing on the screen every game all the time yeah the telestrator that's my favorite thing until it every now and then you get it like you hit the wrong button and instead of wiping it you like add another element and that'll really throw you yeah that's fun and then two more uh tim comments Dave clearly stuck in a beater wormhole from 2003 to 2008. I don't know what that means. I think that was about three taxing. And my favorite one of the week, Wallace comments, Dorn's thumb brace is major dork shit.
Starting point is 01:05:34 That's fair. It is. Thank you, Tadler. I'm not far from where do I do. I don't know what's going on these forearms, man. I'm going to have like a full arm brace soon. All right. Before we get out of here,
Starting point is 01:05:45 let's run it back. Of course, the segment during which we talked about what we talked about all week long. Texas state debuted in Dave's JFF Big Three. We're flummoxed by the New York subway system. You hear about these? No. Yeah, I don't either.
Starting point is 01:06:00 John Duda's buddy would like to eat a frozen pizza off this hot chick's ass. We're doing the Bernie. It's one hundred. Doing the Bernie. It's 100% rowdy if you do it to a scale. Do you remember Jim Knox, Fox Sports? Yeah. You remember Knoxy?
Starting point is 01:06:14 Yes. Okay. We revisit Knox. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Okay. He did some arguments. James. Yeah, he's great.
Starting point is 01:06:20 Randy has $250 to spend with sponsor Poncho, and he's going to the store to try them before he places his order. I think it's fair. Your carbon footprint's crazy. And finally... I mean, I think it's less because I'm not sending stuff back and forth. Finally, Randy and Dave are banana boys now. Yes. I'm a tailgator through and through. Everybody knows that about me. That concludes Run It Back.
Starting point is 01:06:44 That makes sense. You're born and born-Race. Texans. And this week's podcasting. well what are we Taylor thank you man hey where can we find you man hey still T McCarck 16 on on Instagram and Twitter
Starting point is 01:06:55 grinding it out yeah we got we get some good games coming up we got a couple really good army ones in the month of October that'll be fun personally I think they're all good with the Army because I support
Starting point is 01:07:06 troops absolutely I'll co-sign that oh absolutely I support the troops all thank you Randy thank you thanks for having me on great week see tomorrow for voicemails and we'll see you
Starting point is 01:07:17 and wash substacks. And greatest hits, volume three. Bye. Bye. Bye.
