Starting point is 00:00:04 All right, we're back. We're back. We're back. Yeah, we're back. It's a circling back podcast. A Wednesday morning, clear skies, warm, but it is fall nonetheless. My name is Dave. Welcome to the show. If you found us to the New York Post, you're in for a treat.
Starting point is 00:00:38 Producing the show, as always is Randall Trumbachy. Hi, Dave. Cool rag and bone T-shirt. Thank you. I got it. from Ragginbone. Yeah. It's, yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:48 Yeah, that's good. All right. Thank you. You're watching Widows Bay, Dave. You can't watch this. If you haven't watched it, you need to watch this. A lot of enemies. I'm trying to get through the gentleman.
Starting point is 00:00:59 And once I'm through with that, I will be on to another one. I, maybe it'll be that. I had my first feeling of maybe, maybe, uh, going too hard on spooky season early. Cause I was like, I kind of want to save some of these episodes for October. it's a good show, but I didn't even finish it before October. Seeing lots of love for lioness out there. I might need to dive in at some point. Twas a good season.
Starting point is 00:01:26 Bobby Bone said he gave it five out of five. Oh. No offense, but I value his opinion over yours. Yeah, you glaze him, man. He's kind of my dog, dude. You never met him, have you? Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:42 Remember, I went to the live studio recording. But he seems like the type of people. wouldn't meet people who do that, like wouldn't look him in the eyes. He's also a germaphobe, and he says, if you ever come up to me in public to say hi, please fist bump me, as opposed to a handshake. So I fist bumped him. That's like kind of like your request back in the day where you're just like, just give me a fist. You see me in public? I don't mind shaking.
Starting point is 00:02:03 Just give me a fist. I don't mind shaking the backer's hand. I want to shake his hand. I want to shake his hand. Let me shake. Germapobbub, he should require a mask mandate. You should do the mask mandate in the office. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:18 It's a tease to an upcoming segment. Certain folks are unhappy about said mandate being lifted for just one night. You know, I'm a little unhappy about something. All right. Let's start it off on a high note. Rangel, she's back. You know, Taylor Swift. I like Taylor Swift.
Starting point is 00:02:34 A little bit of a Swifty. Have you heard? She's releasing new music for new songs. September 25th in two days, apparently. And guess what? Apparently. And she's gotten some criticism about releasing music or re-releasing music over other people to, like, get her in the top charts. I'm like, whatever.
Starting point is 00:02:56 But the new Kenny Chesney album comes out September 25th, and she's going to be releasing over him. I don't like it. Oh, man. I don't like it. Don't do that to my boy, Kenny. Didn't he help discover her? No one's currently doing. I think she helped with, I think she was supposed to be on his tour.
Starting point is 00:03:10 And then she couldn't be on it because it was, like, sponsored by Bud Light. And she was like 18 or something like that. and I don't know, something like that. But he did help out early with it. It was actually sponsored by Bud Light Lime. Yeah, and the opening act was Michael Budlite's ultimate tailgator. What an act. Because he's doing the Bernie.
Starting point is 00:03:28 I guess I should just be excited from new music for all of them. The Bernie was heavily hated that one. The Bernie was co-opted by white college students. Yes. Because it was so easy to do. Right. But no one looks cool doing it. Yeah, very few.
Starting point is 00:03:46 We were doing it at prom. He was doing the Bernie at prom. Michael. Michael did that. Budlite's ultimate tailgator. Why haven't we used that video yet this college football season? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:03:59 We're waiting for A&M to be in like a meaningful, no offense. They have LSU this weekend. Yeah, but there's not a lot of juice on it. Get new bread on it. They lost at home. Listen, they might not get juice all season. I think we've got to use it right now.
Starting point is 00:04:11 No offense to my Aggies. No offense to my Aggies out there. Let me tweet it right now. No, I mean, he's demanding. in the Bernie. We'll save it for a game day post on Saturday. I think what he's trying to say, Dave, is that when you do it to a scale. New Brett, if you're listening, and I know you are, because you're clipping these segments. File that one away. Who does? Well, actually, he doesn't do those. Landry. Landry. Landry.
Starting point is 00:04:33 He's posting the Bernie. I'll message you privately, Landry. So I guess. Randy, Landry, he is on top of it, isn't he? He's on top of the Bernie. Shut. Okay. That's enough, David. Enough with the Bernie. Can you name the guy doing the voiceover in that seg? You know I can't. Only true big 12 fans. You should know this.
Starting point is 00:04:59 This is back in the day. We'll know. I can see his face. Jim Knox. You know him from such viral clips as running with the Buffaloes. He's always the one in the stands at Rangers games interviewing fans. He would go to like, yeah, he would go to Big 12 games too and just be like out. He was the guy.
Starting point is 00:05:14 There's a video of him on a couch getting tossed up and the couch tips. over. Yeah. Yeah. He's that guy. He's kind of a dog, actually. He's a stalwart in the DFW community. I'm back. I'm not unhappy. I'm happy that we just have new music coming, and I love choosing Texas, but it's officially like the
Starting point is 00:05:31 longest running number one single. Like, come on. We need new music. Taylor's back, y'all. Oh, there's a new Laney Wilson song I really like. Phone keys wallet. John Mayer is weirdly on it. Is he playing guitar?
Starting point is 00:05:48 Yeah, he doesn't do any vocals. He's just strumming. Strumming or picking? I don't know. Brett was bumping some new yellow card and Steve Aoki the other week. We don't need that. I enjoyed it.
Starting point is 00:06:02 I know he's a picker, but I bet he can strum too. Yeah, I bet he knows how to strum the guitar as well. I mean, it's John Mayer. Dude, rest in peace, the Chad, Newfound Glory. You're talking about that. Oh, yeah. I was bumping newfound glory. glory on the way in today. John Mayer top
Starting point is 00:06:17 blank guitarist of all time. Top blank guitarist? Like top five, top ten? You're asking a number? Oh, um, he's top ten. Get him top ten. Yeah. He's nasty. I don't know. Maybe. Sure. Hey, Dave. Your body is a wonderful. I'm not really qualified to do that. I'd rather do the Bernie. That's true.
Starting point is 00:06:43 And tailgate as well. All right, go ahead. Dylan Shivery. where do i'm sorry i'm adding something to the um we had a sad situation outside this morning there's a an accident right outside the office and i think someone passed away not a car accident as far as we know so don't blame dylan for his uh bad luck there's a a lime bicycle electric lime bicycle on its side with like groceries strewn about crime scene tape around it i drove past it well i turned on to our street come you were just there in a fire truck just screen past me i didn't think much of it like he's got to go somewhere yeah not yes um i think i unknowingly drove past a a dead a dead person out there on the street because i
Starting point is 00:07:39 i drove past before the emergency vehicles got you were like just on that street i'm just saying like I'm around, I continue to stay around these accidents and I don't like it. I mean, we were all around it as well. You were. Yeah. Don't know exactly what happened because it's like in the middle of construction cones, like where there's no cars. So in where, so there's some street excavation going on right there. And by the guess, I'm not going to say I'm not doing a guesstimate.
Starting point is 00:08:07 I don't believe in that word. It's not really a word. I have a guest. What's your guess? They, they were going, because there's a, it's blocked off that part of Lamar. the bike land. They're going around it. Amar notoriously bad and also the construction, the excavation right there, probably hit a hole or just lost control of the bike and wrecked it. Someone was put on a stretcher and gotten taken out of there. Then they put tape around the scene. They have not moved
Starting point is 00:08:34 the bike. It's been there for probably an hour and a half now. The fact that they left the scene as is, that makes me wonder if they're going to. I really hope this person makes it obviously. Yeah, sad scenes out here, man. And they could have just simply, like, gone up on the sidewalk and fallen off and then hit their head really hard on the pavement. Like, don't really know what happened. Yeah, there's a number of scenarios. We don't know. Probably shouldn't speculate too much, but...
Starting point is 00:08:59 Well, you did kick off the show with it, so... I just feel like it had to be addressed. It didn't. No one would know. She felt like it had to be addressed. It didn't have to. We're doing the Bernie. Yeah, we're back. He's pivoting hard to something else.
Starting point is 00:09:12 We're doing it. The burning. Dude, Michael was just screaming, drinking Bud Light Live. He was just screaming. Didn't he have a couple, he had earrings, right? Cargo shorts, earrings. It's like probably 2010. Yeah, he was probably the coolest guy at that tailgate.
Starting point is 00:09:29 He was pounding sausage. Yeah. Yeah, you have to. It's sausage on a stick, is what he said. Dude's awesome. I'm still waiting for that guy to, oh, here we go. This is an iconic Big 12.
Starting point is 00:09:43 This is, man, this is, here's the thing. I know your OU, your Texas. We're going to go, we won't play the big boys. We want to go to SEC. We're just, you know, that's how they talk. Yeah. Dude, the big 12 back was fucking fun. This is, this is, this is peak, man.
Starting point is 00:09:58 This is good big club. A&M was there. He's freaking, hell, yeah. All his boys are cracking up because they're like, dude, he's really into one. As you see as one excited tellgator who has just one telgate, tip. If I can give someone a tailgating tip, I'd give them to enjoy the tailgate and have fun with your tailgate because all of them are awesome. Pause it. Not all of them are awesome. There's some bad tailgates. Some of them stink. This one's awesome. Yeah. If I were to give you a tip is to just
Starting point is 00:10:36 enjoy the tailgate. Hey, getting tips. I'm, hey, I've never enjoyed this the whole time. We're three hours in. I'm from another country. I'm here from Germany for the World Cup. I'm hanging around. You got any tips for this tailgate? Just enjoy it, man. Okay. Yeah. Just enjoy it. Have fun.
Starting point is 00:10:52 Maybe crack a bloodline line. Yeah, the goal was obviously, like, to enjoy it, but, like, give me tips to maybe help me enjoy it. No. All right, well. Just do your best. Let's see if we get to the burn. There's a, there's going to come in time where I'm going to run into Michael, and he looks like a big guy, and he's going to hit me in the face, hearted. He is a big fella.
Starting point is 00:11:11 We have a famous sausage on a stick with pickle. and a roll. It's weird, but it's good. It is all about having fun for Michael as he struts his stuff on game day. Look at Michael go, kicking up those hills, doing the Bernie. He paused before he did the Bernie. Are you ready for the Bernie? Do you know how hard it is? We have a lot of rowdiness, honestly.
Starting point is 00:11:38 It's 100% rowdy if you do it to a scale. That's the lie. Can you pause it real quick? You know how hard it is to not walk around your house? Just going, he's doing the Bernie. Doing the Bernie. Surprisingly hard if you're me, because I just will walk around and I'll just, it'll just pop into my head, especially on Saturday morning.
Starting point is 00:12:01 You flip on game day, there's Pat, shirts off. He's just yelling and the crowd's loving it. And everybody's just like, hell yeah, fuck yeah, Pat. And I'm just thinking, how much cooler would this be if Pat did the Bernie? And do it to a scale. Bernie. They have a lot of fun. They have a lot of routing.
Starting point is 00:12:20 It's 100% when you do it to a scale, though. You have to. This guy, a lot of times it's hard to be like the second man in the video to keep up. And like you're trying to keep up with Michael's energy. He does a pretty good job. I have to give him credit. Well, he's trying to enjoy the tailgate. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:37 Well, that's the tip. That's the tip. Yeah. All right. I guess we don't. We don't watch it. People get it. The visual.
Starting point is 00:12:44 show. Hey, we dropped a fan week. Speaking of fan week, yesterday on Patreon, it was a lot of fun. There was a lot of rowdiness as well. It was. It was good. It was really good. Man, it was it delivered. Yeah, that was a fun episode. Tap it. I'd like it if you went and checked it out. Tap in. Help the boys out, man. Chat. Did you like Fan Week? Did you like it? Did you like it? I hope you did. I liked it. I'm not Chad, though. That's okay. I'm glad you liked it, Randall. It's only on Patreon. Go try it. If you're bored, if you just got laid off or something, go listen. You can try it free for a week.
Starting point is 00:13:21 Just go drop a go opt-o on them. Okay? We drop the listener voicemails on Friday. There's new people listening to the show every day I've been told. Every day? I think so. You don't think we get one new listener each day, checking out the show for the first time?
Starting point is 00:13:37 You're probably right. Okay. Probably one. Oh, wow. Hoping to be more than one. I guess I'll just fuck off. And maybe I'll do the Bernie. Doing the Bernie.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Okay, that's enough of that. It's also podcast week, it says right here. What's that mean, Randall? It means that we're doing podcasts this week, and it's important. What's important about it? So we celebrate podcasts. If I were to give you a tip, enjoy the podcast. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Yes. That puts it all in context for me. Thank you. We got a big show today. Big shows. I'm going to quit tooting around. around over here. You gonna quit farting around? Please do. Let me talk about our friends over at Tocovus. We had a little anniversary date last Saturday, went over to the Driscoll Bar and Grill.
Starting point is 00:14:28 I threw on my blue jeans. I threw on my Tocovas, my smooth ostrich. I wore my Ticovas, my black cartwrights, of course. You got married in those suckers. I did. I also wore him to Emily's birthday party on Friday night. Well, and I get a lot of looks. You're getting a lot of looks? Yeah. A lot of Routiness. That too. The COVID is stewarding the future of the American West, Randall, honoring its heritage, elevating its craft, and shaping a lifestyle route in an authenticity and confidence.
Starting point is 00:14:56 Founded in 2015. Headquartered where? Right here in Austin, Texas. I love working with Austin companies. I love working with Austin brands. Absolutely. Anywhere worth going this summer, this fall, this winter, year-round. It's better and comfortable boots.
Starting point is 00:15:11 I'll tell you that right now. I wear mine. I have two pairs of boots, and I have a pair of the, uh, I guess it's kind of a slide on, more of like a loafer. It's a loafer. It's a loafer. I'm calling out a loafer. It's not a loafer.
Starting point is 00:15:26 It's not copped. I didn't want a swagger jacking him. I would have copped. Yeah. Ticovas has shoes for the season, weddings, backyard, barbecues, outdoor festivals and three-day weekends. When Dylan goes out to the ranch to, uh, bail some hay or fill the feeders or check on the horses that once tried to kill him, he puts on us to Kovas. I do.
Starting point is 00:15:44 Don't you? Absolutely. Look, in a lot of places, including Texas, it's still hot out there. Stay cool with a new pair of Toccova's Western boots or sandals. Get you some sandals, huh? Yeah. How about that? We love them.
Starting point is 00:15:55 Heritage made cowboy boots crafted in over 200 steps by hand in Leon, Mexico. When you try them on, when you go to the store where they order them, you're going to put them on and you're going to feel like you've had these boots for years. They're broken in. Absolutely. That's the big thing. Check it out. There's two stores in Austin, one on South Congress, one on the domain. Get your pull tab branded for free right there in the store.
Starting point is 00:16:15 It takes five minutes. The in-store experience is unparalleled. They've got 50 TACOV-O-V-S-C-C-O-V-C. Right now, get 10% off at T-C-O-C-O-V-K. Starting point is 00:16:38 I want to give a couple shout-outs. It's from Backer, Tony. I want a shout-out, LaunchBay, up there around Dallas, Texas, in Dallas, Texas, right off 635. We've got a lot of backers. Launch Bay Golf. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:56 It's a veteran-owned indoor golf business. So you can probably imagine what it is, simulators, things of that nature. They've got a private golf bay powered by Trackman technology. Best part is the whole setup is incredibly easy. Reserve your time online. You'll get a code that lets you into the facility 15 minutes before your reservation. No waiting around, no crowded range. up and start swinging.
Starting point is 00:17:19 Just get in there. Just start swinging like crazy. Get your reps in, man. Dial it in. Yeah. And yeah, I know Randy's wanting to know. Is Launch Bay Golf, B.Y, OB? The answer is yes.
Starting point is 00:17:29 Okay. I was wondering. Grab some friends, bring your favorite drinks, make a night of it. Right down the road from DAC, Dallas Athletic Club. So if your tea time gets rained out, or you just want to walk outside, remember, if you walk outside, remember, it's still hot, you know?
Starting point is 00:17:44 Go over to Launch Bay instead. Launchbaygolf. go check them out launch baggolf dot com i've never played dacc of you don't or uh dallas athletic club i haven't had not it doesn't surprise me i'd be interested in playing it another shout out to a good friend uh your backer's father i love fathers of backers would you give my dad's coffee shop of 36 years a shout out he's retiring soon worked his butt off his whole life most humble guy he knows How's that Bing Bong, though? It's Kevin's Coffee and Vernon, Connecticut.
Starting point is 00:18:24 Go check them out. Shout out K-Man. And Backer, Jack, you really didn't give us a ton, but we're just going to shout them out. We assume it's really good Bing Bong. It's the best Bing Bong, in Connecticut. Connecticut Bing, Bong, something good. Connecticut's best Bing Bang. We're confident in that.
Starting point is 00:18:41 Kevin's Coffee. Kevin's Coffee. Plain and simple. I like it. Connecticut. That's how I remember to spell it. Cut. Yeah. Connect I cut. Connect. I cut. Yeah. How many syllables?
Starting point is 00:18:55 It's four. Conne. Kut. Kut. That sounds like seven. Pretty sure that's not how you say it, but yeah, it's four. Did that teacher ever email you back? No. No.
Starting point is 00:19:11 Doing all their stuff. I'm not a time for your fucking games, kid. Do you think it's because you put, together one of the most poorly crafted emails of all time? I'm just kidding. It was fine. I'm going to see what I sent. All right.
Starting point is 00:19:33 He's crafted an email. This is what I said. I said, you put it up on screen for the visual. I just felt like there was two of the sentences. We recently had a debate at work. We are hoping your expertise can help us. Is the word circling two or three? three syllables.
Starting point is 00:19:51 Thank you. How was that like... That's fine. That's fine. What did you want? He even said, thank you. I could have been a calling in there or something. He could have combined the...
Starting point is 00:20:02 Oh, you want to do him to impress the linguist? Got it. I don't know. We don't know how cunning this person was or is. I think she's pretty cunning. She does... She does a phonetics lab. I assume that's pretty cunning.
Starting point is 00:20:21 Sounds like it. Is that a word that's not used enough? Cunning? Yeah, sure. Yeah. What? What do you want from me right now? I just operate at a higher level.
Starting point is 00:20:38 Do you? They're just being stoic. I don't know. Why do you have the brace on them? I'm pretty sure we've been over this. I feel like you're not, I'm not accusing you this. It immobilizes my thumb. You're a happily married man.
Starting point is 00:20:50 It allows it to heal. It feels like you're trying to get some sympathy. Is he trying to be knee brace on? This is for me. Yeah, you are being... Dude, it really helps. Are you being... Especially throughout the day when I'm like, I'm on my phone, I'm typing.
Starting point is 00:21:01 Like, it makes me not use it as much. But you're podcasting right now. I'm fucking typing. I'm doing some shit. What are you typing? What are you doing? Are you email it back? Emailing a linguist?
Starting point is 00:21:10 I've added to run it back twice already today. All right. You dumbass little... But you don't really even... The way you type, you don't even need your thumbs. It helps. It disallows me to use it. which is what I need right now.
Starting point is 00:21:24 Have you thought about getting it removed? Oh, yeah. That's a terrible idea. I think it's salvageable. It's just in pain. Have you thought about sending the pain below? No. Nobody was into that band, I guess.
Starting point is 00:21:43 I don't even know what you're talking about, man. I don't want to be. I don't want a podcast anymore. All right. See you. I'm going to sit here. I'll let you all go. Okay.
Starting point is 00:21:52 I'll let you guys do this one. Keep me out of the question. He's sitting out the podcast. He's doing the birthday. He's having a pout fit. He's being a baby. If you guys have Spooky Season stories, send him to Spooky at washmedia.com. I guess it's that time.
Starting point is 00:22:08 It's about that time, yeah. Yeah, I would say so. Brett, New Brett, don't come in here yet, but do note, spooky season promo. We need to discuss it. That's for Newbret. I only give him directives through the, like, whilst on the pod. He doesn't talk to him at all in the office. No.
Starting point is 00:22:26 He hasn't earned my respect yet. We're going to get him. We're put him in the hot seat. He's got to be in the hot seat. All right, I got to stop. Oh, yeah, that's a tease for the chat. If you have questions for new bread, get, get them going. Upcoming segment today.
Starting point is 00:22:41 What's NB's deal? It's new bread. New brad. Or, uh, it's nothing he did wrong necessarily. I just, you want to know what makes him tick. We had him in here and basically he just, we know he's a ball knower. We know that much. That's become clear.
Starting point is 00:22:56 Yeah. Yeah. Someone someone on the Reddit said that Dylan's knowledge of college football doesn't extend much beyond like Texas and those surrounding whatever you don't have a you don't know shit about the JFF B3 and that's pretty fair. Yeah. New Brett's very well-rounded. You got the vibe of a guy I only watches Texas football. Like you don't you won't you won't throw on a Hawaii game at 1130. You must not know me.
Starting point is 00:23:24 You're like, oh yeah, it was a great game. I fell asleep in the second half. But what I will do, though, which is, oh, you do. Like Texas played at the same time the Ole Miss LSU game. Therefore, I watched very little of Ole Miss LSU, even though it was a much better football game. Because I just, I watch Texas. I choose Texas. I'm choosing Texas, y'all.
Starting point is 00:23:46 Number one, top 100 hit of all time, David. It's a catchy song. It is a catchy song. It just doesn't have much competition. Is that okay? You subscribe to that theory. Oh, yeah. There's no good new music out.
Starting point is 00:24:03 Like I said, we've talked about this multiple times. I'm one of the guys that listens to the radio, and I'm still hearing songs from over a year ago being played on like the pop stations. It's like, all right, this is, I don't want to hear freaking Benson Boone with his little freaking backflips or whatever he does. Why?
Starting point is 00:24:20 Because you're jealous. He's hot. His little mullet in his mustache and his jumpsuits and his flips. He looks like about 25% of the guys, eyes you'll see on West 6th. Yeah. True. All right, Dylan.
Starting point is 00:24:36 Tell us about the mask mandate. All right. This one is taking Twitter by storm. There is a bar in western Massachusetts in a town called, what is it, Greenfield? Greenfield. The bar is called Last Ditch Bar. It's a good name for a bar. It is a, it's a lesbian bar.
Starting point is 00:24:56 All right. Lesbians go there. Yeah, I get it. hang out and meet other lesbians. That's what kind of the concept of this bar. You're saying I wouldn't do well at this bar? They probably would have a little interest in you. Most of the clientele would be like, look, that seemed like a cool guy,
Starting point is 00:25:11 but I'm not interested in him. He's got a lot of ally points racked up at work. You'd have to wear him like a mask, so they wouldn't even know that you have a cool mustache. The last ditch bars in Greenfield Mass, they have a very strict mask mandate still. in September of 2026. I don't know how many bars out there are still doing very strict mask mandates, but this is certainly one of them.
Starting point is 00:25:37 Oh, I like that to protect the immunocompromised. There you go. In an effort to drum up more business, however, they have decided to lift the mask mandate for one night per week on a Saturday night. A popular bar going night is Saturday. It's weekend, prime week. And it is typically for the boys.
Starting point is 00:26:01 In this case, it's for the cows. Anyway, they lift this, they lift the mask mandate for one night a week, Saturday, and it's got all the gals in it and a bit of a tizzy. They are not happy with what's going on here. They'd hate you at that bar. They wouldn't hate me. They would just, your vibe. I'm a friend, I'm a friend to lesbians. Don't clip that.
Starting point is 00:26:24 I love, I love my lesbians. Anyway, you're a little monster. I am a low monster and there is a Lady Gaga play at the end of this article here from the New York Post. Yeah, there is. Anyway, the gals are a, they're a bit hot over this one. And a lot of wokeisms getting thrown about. What's that? I just moved here. I'm from another country.
Starting point is 00:26:53 Boke one was crazy, Dave. Yeah. Is this AOC? Like one woke. 0. the term abelist is getting tossed around ah like an early reading of the bible i don't know canaan abel oh okay that was the joke there dave yeah we met uh we pre-gamed a game we went to canaan ables dude me and my brothers got fucking stoned off the sticky weed and we just called the canaan abled
Starting point is 00:27:20 one of these one of these gals is quoted as saying um i hope your venue gets firebombed for robbing my fellow immunocompromised people of their Saturday plans just to scrape extra revenue from ableists. Fire bombing. Hmm. That seems, you know. Seems a bit extreme. Extreme, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:40 Fire bombing. I believe there was a World War II campaign over much of Europe, over Germany. U.S. led. Another one wrote, people like you killed disabled people in the name of your own leisure and convenience. It's an interesting way to get people on your side. fire bombing and well an all right all right well another one said enough with the fire bombs well another one said just say you're being complicit in a mass disabling event and get it over with that's my
Starting point is 00:28:12 favorite pit bull song by the way mass disabling event no no bro let's go out this weekend there's a mass disabled event again mass are optional one night a week at this bar here's the deal having not had not having not read the entire boston globe article but just read the bits and pieces I understand that maybe they weren't doing so well financially. So they're like, all right, what's up way to get to jump some business up? What if one night a week? This bar opened in 2025, by the way. This is like a brand new place.
Starting point is 00:28:43 Oh, wow. What are you going to say? Let's go maskless. Maybe we'll bring some more clientele. I don't think this is that out of bounds. You know, it's like one, look, one out of week, you guys, if you want to wear a mask. You're still welcome to come on that night, by the way. But there might be some folks mixing in here that are mask-free,
Starting point is 00:29:04 and we're going to allow that. But the other six nights, those people aren't even allowed in. You got to mask up, player. Well, I am not someone who is still masking up at this time. I do, I like, I do like that in this society, we have, there is a bar. There is a niche bar for people who want that, and they can go to it. And they can exist. I caught him in disbelief that there's a strict strict mask mandate.
Starting point is 00:29:33 There's people out there who believe that as we know, Randy. That is a way to, they can be social but also remain healthy. As we know from the name of COVID-19, it was first discovered in 2019. Yes, we know that. Straight up. Seven years ago. We found out on this podcast. I've been on some flights recently where I'm just like sitting there and there's like
Starting point is 00:29:53 coughing guy in front of me and I'm just sitting there like this and I'm like, I kind of wish I had a mask right now. I don't know how much it would do, but I don't really like being on this plane. I kind of wish I had one. And when I go to the bar, masks were stinky. That was not fun. It was nice, never having to do a middle seat
Starting point is 00:30:10 or have anyone in the middle seat. That was a little nice. Back in my 20s, if there had been a bar, a co-ed bar that was a mask mandated, I probably would have done well because it would have covered up my butterface. Yeah. Yeah, you are a butter face.
Starting point is 00:30:24 It would have covered up my ugly face. Yeah, you're freaking face. I probably would have done well with my witticisms. They'd be like, ooh, you're kind of funny. They get home and I do the big reveal. I'm like, oh. They start vomiting. They make that noise on the board, the spooky season one.
Starting point is 00:30:39 You know, the one that everybody wants me to bring back? The one that he's about to play. I take off the mask. Is that me making the noise or her? That's her when you take the mask off and she sees what you're working with. And I'm just like, what am I supposed to do with that? I'm like, is that a good thing? Also from the article.
Starting point is 00:30:56 She leaves. The bars three owners won a drag performer using it-its pronouns. That's new to me. It-its? This person's pronouns. I'm going to keep quiet. I don't want to get closed. It's like a thing.
Starting point is 00:31:11 More than a person. With the end. Another one. Another one of the clown. Sorry. Another one of the bars three owners is in clown school currently. Oh, wow. This is a motley crew of a bar ownership.
Starting point is 00:31:26 here. Wow, they could kickstart my heart. That's good. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. So it's just having Twitter, just the culture, the culture war. This did not. They didn't crazy. This, this is really given a certain segment of Twitter a lot to work with. Here is, I got to tell you, it's election season, some, there's a blue wave, maybe, and then you get this one. when when the last when the last ditch bar announced this new um rule or lack thereof on saturday in august is when they announced it this is what they said a very sweet note actually it is with love we inform our immunocompromise disabled why is that funny it is with love we inform our immunocompromise that word is just um that is a thing no i know i know but in this context it's funny
Starting point is 00:32:25 to me. Because of the clown college? It is with love. We inform our immunocompromised disabled divas. We will be opening Saturday nights as mask optional. It's the divas. Hey, dude, immunocompromised disabled divas. Can I give a shout out to a couple divas? When I was living in Oklahoma City, I had to have, there was like a semester. There was like a semester. My first, I didn't have time to clean. I was a bad. I was living alone. I had to have somebody clean my apartment and I used the domestic divas. And that was their name. And they were good. They did great job. And one time they came to clean and I was so violently hung over that I was just on my couch, shirtless, with a blanket over me as they cleaned my apartment. Were they just a real low place?
Starting point is 00:33:06 How were they dressed? Were they just regular? They weren't. What do you mean? Because you famously hired the guy to clean your chimney sweep with the top hat. So I didn't know if this was a gimmick like they were dressed out like drag. Oh, like no, they were just regular gals, regular women. They weren't dressed as like like in-
Starting point is 00:33:21 It wasn't RuPaul. No, they weren't drag queens. Listen to this comment. They were just divas. Listen to this comment on the Instagram post. Not all divas or drag queen. I know, but, you know. Someone said on the comments of that post, it indicates the lack of care or interest
Starting point is 00:33:37 and disability intersectionality. All right. Intersectionality? Yeah, see, you, we're just, we're coming, we're inventing words. You didn't get a liberal arts degree. We're coming up with words here. So that is a word, Dylan. Dylan, maybe do some research.
Starting point is 00:33:52 Yeah. It's not my job, dad. Intersectionality is. word. And people forget Club Cool was the intersection of style and pop culture. That is true. I'm surprised you didn't know that. Bet you didn't know that. You dumbass. So I'm reading this, I'm going to listen to you. I'm going to do this fucking article.
Starting point is 00:34:05 I went to re, okay, I thought an interesting angle for this segment would be like, let's go get some bar reviews as it is a bar. Uh-huh. You will be very disappointed to learn that a certain segment of males on Twitter have maybe co-opted the reviews. Okay.
Starting point is 00:34:22 This is an interesting thing. They're really mad that people are still masking up. But here's the thing. It shouldn't really affect you. You don't have to go to this bar. I think the bar is like not. I think the bar's closed because one person went to clown college. You don't have to go to this bar.
Starting point is 00:34:40 They're wearing a mask should not affect you. You don't have to wear the mask anymore. Someone else said, just saying like, someone else who was particularly bothered by this said, a lot of people are calling for an acknowledgement of harm. and I'm hearing a white, in all caps, therapist, centering the feelings of a majority white and white adjacent staff. Yeah, Mr. White.
Starting point is 00:35:03 This is levels of wokeness. This is blue sky getting mad that they had it and then true social coming back and making fun of it. This is what is happening. It's the best way I can describe it. Yeah, there's a lot of, there's a lot of, there's a lot of co-opting, I feel like. I think there's a lot of criticisms that we might be like, wow, what? And then I feel like there's a lot of like bad actors that are like,
Starting point is 00:35:28 Mm-hmm. Someone else said this is incredibly racist. Fire bombing it. In deflecting behavior. All right. All right. I'm going to close it down from the article at the end here. Apparently, the only person left around midnight on a recent Saturday suggested trying a
Starting point is 00:35:48 Lady Gaga-themed party might bring some people in. Lady Gaga is a major friend to the LBTG what is it LGBTQ plus thank you to that community she's a major proponent etc and someone's the bartender said Gaga is cancelled Gaga is Zionist who I miss that one me too if they're at if they're at odds with Lady Gaga closing time time do shes the bar down because i'm going to clown college yeah that's all i got okay this is just this is hilarious
Starting point is 00:36:33 this is quite uh quite the i feel bad when businesses shut down hop on twitter and just search specifically ones that employ my podcast up on twitter and do a search for lesbian bar and just read it's it's pretty entertaining stuff it's a lot it's a lot it's a lot of red meat a lot of red meat a lot of blue hair i keep check re uh refreshing the austin police department's twitter feed to see what happened and there's nothing they'll tell you like investigating a homicide it'll come out so-and-so it's still it's a couple hours old only they're surprised but what shocks me this is a main road very important road usually they're like we better let people know down to one lane if you're backed up on southamara and you don't know what's going on this is what's going
Starting point is 00:37:25 on it's right outside of our office. I've been backed up on South Lamar before. They had both southbound lane shut down for a while. Yeah, I was I was backed up. I had two many of those David bars. I'll do it. They're all gone. Right.
Starting point is 00:37:42 I know. Dude, I think both brats are just taking down now. Because Brett doesn't buy lunch. He just eats lunch here. He's really fleecing us. He is. He needs to start pitching in for the snacks, I think. Let's start, should we start docking his paycheck?
Starting point is 00:37:58 Let's siphon him. Let's siphon a little, little something. Snack fee. Let's hit him with a snack tax. Your snack tax 50 bucks a month. That boy is freaking just... He's just going in, dog. Just need to get him more pretzels.
Starting point is 00:38:14 Just get him a bunch of pretzels and he'll stop eating the bars. And all he does is he emboldens this guy. He's like, can you give me Ollie Pop and, or Dr. Pepper? Dr. Pepper Zero. Randy wanted pretzels yesterday. for Dr. Pepper Zero. Because me and New Brett both want it. I don't like this.
Starting point is 00:38:31 Ranny wanted pretzels yesterday and he looked for him and they're gone and he asked Brett, did you eat them all? And he, he deflected. He, there were two bags. He said yes without saying yes. I think both bretsels were eating them though.
Starting point is 00:38:43 Do we have two brestles? I think we do. If you have two bretles, you have none. Are we going double barrel bretles on them? I think so. I don't know. I don't want to put new bread on, on blast.
Starting point is 00:38:51 I don't know. He said it has to be in. Yeah, we'll ask him. He'll ask him. You're like, hey, I enjoy the pretzels. He can eat them. But I think old bread is just trying to deflect. I love the pivot where it's like, all right, bar didn't work.
Starting point is 00:39:03 Everybody got mad. We tried to make more money. I'm going to become a clown. I'm going to clown college. I'm going to pursue my passion. I've had it with these ladies. What is the trajectory for getting becoming an accredited clown? Like, do you go to, is it just circus?
Starting point is 00:39:24 You book clown events. Yeah. It's like going to kids' birthday parties. You're asking the wrong guy. I don't know. Rodeo? I went out to rodeo. Different kind of call.
Starting point is 00:39:32 Do you get a diploma? Yeah, but like a little, a daisy pops out of it. You squeeze a little horn when you. They hand you the diploma and it just squirts water in your face. Oh, that's good. It just catches on fire. The big red shoes just stomping, flopping across the stage. I wonder if you have to pick your name while you're in college.
Starting point is 00:39:58 What would your clown name be, Randy? Shuckles. That's been, that's taken, dude. Okay. Mine would be gummo. About Zany. No, that's, I'd be Zany Lillison, Wilson. I'll just see.
Starting point is 00:40:10 Zany Wilson. Zany Wilson. And I'd have a good voice and a big old guitar that I would play. What else? And I'd have an absurd Southern accent that may or may not be embellished. Right. A lot of, a lot of stuff out there on that accent. Might be leaning into it a little much.
Starting point is 00:40:31 You were saying how you preferred pre-O-Zempic, Lany Wilson. What did you mean by that? What did you mean by that? I have no knowledge of what drugs she has or has not taken. I think my name would be. I didn't know what you meant by it. Wacky tea. I like using that one.
Starting point is 00:40:46 Wacky tea? Yeah. Wacky T-bone? It's wacky tea. Wacky T-bone is not a good clown. Hey, yeah. Wacky and bone should not be in the same thing.
Starting point is 00:40:57 Remember when Randy ordered a T-Bone at Carve because we wanted him, He wanted us to call him T-bone and we just didn't do it. One. I did not want you call me T-bone. He didn't know what cut the orders. He panicked and deferred back- Cartoon. Just said, all right, well, what's the one?
Starting point is 00:41:10 What's the cartoon? What's the cartoon? Yeah, it is a T-Bomb. I do like T-Bones. They're like, well, it's not on the menu, but yeah, we do have T-Bones here. No, no, no. We're mixing different things. Does it Bob's.
Starting point is 00:41:21 Yeah. They had a T-bone at Bobbs for Brett's, like, one year or two-year anniversary. And I did get it. But then I asked at Carve if they had. had a T-bone. They didn't, so they said they had a cowboy rabbi and I got that. And Rennie looked at the waiter and goes, why? Why not you stupid bastard? Day's really been enjoying that. But yeah, I like a T-bone. It's probably my favorite cut of steak. I might get me a cut of steak tonight. Make a big old state and then go lie down on my Lisa mattress.
Starting point is 00:41:55 With a belly full of me. You're going to sleep well, my friend. Well, you know, I'm already going to sleep well because it's a Lisa mattress. You're a legend, Cooling type dude. Legend hybrid cooling mattress is, that's my choice of mattress, and it is freaking fantastic. I've never slept so well in my life. From night one, you'll feel the difference, premium materials that deliver serious comfort and full body support no matter how you sleep. And they back it all up with free shipping, easy returns, and they want 120-night sleep trial. You won't need it. I bet you won't. Oh, hell, no, you're not going to need it.
Starting point is 00:42:44 I knew immediately. I opened the door. There's a package. What's this package? Surely it's not a mattress. This isn't shape like a mattress. Guess what? The mattress is all folded up and vac sealed.
Starting point is 00:42:54 You open the box, you cut it open. Just kind of folds, and you're, boom, there's my mattress for the next, I don't know, decade, whatever, maybe longer. Yeah. It's awesome. I've had, we've got two in our household, plus one in the garage, we don't have room for. We got two also, big dog. Lisa isn't just about sleep, it's about impact.
Starting point is 00:43:10 They work with local nonprofits across the United States to donate thousands of mattresses each year to families in need with over 43,000 mattresses donated to date. How about that? Go to Lisa.com for 25% off select mattresses, plus get an extra $50 off with promo code Steam. That's exclusive for our listeners. that's L-E-E-E-S-A-com promo code Steam for 25% off select mattresses plus an extra $50 off and tell them circling back chance you. Tell them.
Starting point is 00:43:43 Type it in there, say circling back podcast. Lisa.com promo code Steam. What's next? I texted a new Brett to get in here, but I guess he's not paying attention to his phone right now. Oh, he's taking a leak. Yeah, old brat. Oh, he's just responded.
Starting point is 00:43:57 Well-timed tinky. Yeah, it sounds like somebody's nervous. Nervous for the hot seat, huh? Sounds like it, man. He'll be in here any second now. Got a group chat, group text chat. Hey, Brett, dart out for the season confirmed. Yeah, that's tough.
Starting point is 00:44:20 Who sent you that? Sauce. That's something sauce would do. He loves breaking bad news about your football team. He does, yeah. He's trying to take a different approach with me and the Cowboys. And like being like nice about it. But I know it's going to change.
Starting point is 00:44:38 I know it's going to change. This kid, some pisser, huh? Oh, there he is. Get you a piss in, hoss? Ladies and gentlemen. Yeah, I didn't time my bathroom break, right? Yeah, I kind of fumbled that. It's all right.
Starting point is 00:44:55 I started right at the beginning of the read, but I'm like 15 seconds behind in there. So. Well, here's the deal. We had you in last week. Had a poncho on. I do. This is a self-bought poncho. Damn.
Starting point is 00:45:06 Yeah. For like three years. I believe I used what's a promo code? One of the promo codes. We used, yeah, it's probably different. I used promo code back in the day for this.
Starting point is 00:45:15 I'm pretty confident about that. Well, here's the deal. We had you in last week talk a little ball, a little football. People were like, wow, this guy knows ball.
Starting point is 00:45:24 And we knew that. We knew you were a ball-nower. However, people didn't really get to know the man behind the ball knowledge. So I want to ask you, and I mean this in the night, in the nicest way possible and not in like the way that it's used to other people.
Starting point is 00:45:40 Some people say it, too. Yeah. Well, what's your deal? Well, I figured this would be a little less open-ended than that. So I don't really know broadly. I mean, ball knowledge is like a big part of my deal. So, I mean, love ball, love, I like to go on walks. I'm a, I'm a broadcast major.
Starting point is 00:45:59 That's kind of my background in there. So I was kind of the kid calling games growing up, that type of deal. Have you done the trail? You know, Dylan does a trail. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I'm, uh, I'm, this is something bold to admit here. I've been Austin guy, you know, really getting into it. I'm going shirtless on the trail.
Starting point is 00:46:14 Oh, that's my dog, dude. Yeah, I'm going. Vitamin D. Play. Get your little sun kiss. I'm going right on Butler Trail every day. I went straight there from here yesterday. Get you, uh, get you some fake abs.
Starting point is 00:46:24 Yeah, I need, I need some because. Number fake abs guy. Yes, I do. In Fort Worth, I can compete, like on the Trinity Trail. I'm like a seven maybe, you know, like I'm, I'm solid. I'm doing all right on that trail. I'm like a four and a half. It's a hot trail.
Starting point is 00:46:37 Yeah, it's a hot trail. I'm going under Mopac on the bridge and just seeing how and I'm walking too and there's just hot dudes running by. It's, it's tough. This is tough because you're a Fort Worth guy, not, you never really, you never lived in Dallas, correct? No, Fort Worth.
Starting point is 00:46:49 I'm wondering how our trail stacks up to the Katie Trail, Dallas. See, I don't know about the, I, that's a hot trail as well. That, yeah, I would guess that. I like, uh, like getting my reps in on the Trinity Trail. Like, that's a good, that's a good beginning. Like, you'll see some, you'll see some hot guys, but nothing. nothing that intimidates you. So it's a good, good, good training trail.
Starting point is 00:47:09 And so, uh, so yeah, that's part of my deal. I love, I love to walk, I guess. I like to read, too. So what's the last great book that you read? I read a biography about Andrew Jackson that I just finished. $20 bill. Yeah. And I am, uh, starting one called Lone Star Nation.
Starting point is 00:47:22 I'm big H.W. Brands guy. I'm not sure if any are familiar. He's a YouTube professor, I believe, history guy. And he's got unbelievable like history books, but they're like more snapshots of the time. So my favorite one that I've read by him, it's called our first civil war. And it's about the revolution. So you get like George Washington and Ben Franklin's letters like from the George Washington's letters like from the front like to his wife.
Starting point is 00:47:46 You get Ben Franklin like while he's in Paris being like Paris rules and John Adams being like, I fucking hate these Parisians. And then you kind of get what they're feeling at the time. I find it fascinating. Dylan, you read that one, didn't you? Yeah, I didn't care for it. So those are the those are the types of books that I like to read. I have beef with UT professors.
Starting point is 00:48:06 They don't respond to emails. But shout out, shout out to HW, not the, not the president. Maybe we can get him or her in. Dude, if we,
Starting point is 00:48:14 if we got him, he does like, if you like watch the history channel, like he's a big player and like, when they have like those like reenactments and stuff. Like he's, he's popping in. It's like,
Starting point is 00:48:23 is he the guy, the Greek guy with a tall, crazy hair. No. Ancient aliens. He's got a, he's got a long hair, kind of a got face.
Starting point is 00:48:30 You know, talking about it. Yeah, that guy's, yeah. I was going to make the same joke. What if? So only they had no history channel now is ancient aliens.
Starting point is 00:48:39 But yeah, if I could use my platform to interview him, I would, I'd love that. I've read like six or seven. How old are you? 30. So you're too young to, are you, have you gotten into the American Southwest yet? My next one actually is Lone Star Nation by H.W. brands. Oh, that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:48:55 About the founding of, uh, of the state of Texas. So, okay. Because I don't have any Texas. I'm not sure. like do they do they teach in texas history like uh well do they like let you know like what sam houston's deal really was are you're as sounds like sounds like you're talking about low history no it's not not well i mean he's just like kind of to fuck off to arkansas because he had a failed marriage and then he was like getting drunk telling everybody he was going to conquer texas one day
Starting point is 00:49:20 and everyone's like sure you are sam houston and then he didn't teach us that yeah he kind of gets back in the picture yeah he gets married to a girl for like two weeks she's a lot younger doesn't work out and she doesn't work out well i'm i don't know if any anyone worked out back then he kind of goes to Arkansas and there's reports of him like talking to Native American he's like I'm gonna see you hear about that Texas place I'm gonna go over around that bitch anyone's like yeah dude sure he are and then he does um no they don't teach you that I was one I've always wondered about that my my Texas history teacher was uh he's maybe his past a shout to mr browning allegedly we don't know what was in his flask but he
Starting point is 00:49:56 would brazenly pull take rips out of his flask and call it his coughs Sounds like he was honoring Sam Houston. And we were like, all right. It's kind of sick. It's sixth grade, seventh grade, I think. But yeah, we had mandated Texas history. Yes, I'm gonna get my- And it's a class. It was a good, it was an interesting class.
Starting point is 00:50:15 You know, they may have taught one version of the Alamo. Don't think about the old picture. I don't know. I don't know. I'm not a student of history. I'm not. Same. I'm just a guy who drinks Bud Light Lime.
Starting point is 00:50:27 Not to, not to History Jack. Well, History Jack. You ever done one of those? Yeah, exactly. Dylan? That was... I can't say I have, Dave. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:35 What? Okay. If Sam Houston's wife did work out, then Dylan would have been history jacket to it, but she did. Right. She was... Yeah. She was soft-bodied. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:46 So I forgot. I kind of forgot where I was... Oh, I was just going to say, I find the whole Mexican-American war that time in... It's a forgotten part of our history that I find very interesting. Absolutely. All the Civil War generals met each other then. Interesting stuff. Anyway.
Starting point is 00:50:59 What are your hobbies other than walking the trail and reading walking trail reading playing golf watching ball trying to get back into hooping so if anyone's got like a good oh anyone's got a good run if anyone's got a good run in austin let me know can you don't you try to run fives? I'm trying to run fives yeah I'm going to run fives for a long time I just shoot by myself so okay I'll like that because we don't have that yeah in wash media. It's true will's will ball will's got a sneaky wet jay. Dylan's got used to have the wettest J in Austin. That's an verified fact. I've got Cloud 9, a signature move, take it up the baseline, hit him with a floater. Yeah. I'm unstoppable.
Starting point is 00:51:40 I'm wicked defense. That's all I am. Yeah, but we don't have anybody who's out there just running it. I got a pretty nasty, you know, that five, uh, five, six foot range is just, just lethal with the floater off one foot, both hands. You go play, uh, some ball in Ross's front, uh, driveway. Yeah, I need. He's got a, he's got a noted New York Times bestselling.
Starting point is 00:51:59 Go out there. You'll find some good games over there. Play some one-on-one with them or something. But yeah, so I used to do that a little bit. Like I said, that's like the number one thing that I'd like to get back into a little bit is that. You used to like to play tennis with my old roommate, but I don't know anyone would play tennis with anymore. We'd go out there, play like, one set batches. That was always fun.
Starting point is 00:52:18 Somebody presented me recently with a study. They didn't really present it. They just told me about it. They were talking about if you play, people who play tennis have, like, their longevity is they live, like, five to six years longer on average. That feels like it's got to be wealth adjusted. Like that feels like one of the, what do they call that?
Starting point is 00:52:35 But it is a great sport. It is a good sport. Yeah. Much better than pickable. Yeah, but I feel like like golf, you'd probably get the same. Like I'm sure there's study out there.
Starting point is 00:52:43 Like you live longer. People like not really. Yeah, exactly. Tend to live longer or you know, whatever healthier. And it's like, well, it's because they have more money for health care.
Starting point is 00:52:51 Yeah. A privilege life. Yeah. Oh, here we go. There's a good word for that. Buddy. Well, are you going to call it.
Starting point is 00:52:57 The mask? The mask kind of a good name for a bar. It's not bad. Yeah. Dylan hates Jim Carrey, though, so. He does. I don't hate Jim Carrey. I just find some of his characters to be very off-putting.
Starting point is 00:53:09 Is it because he talked with his butt cheeks? That's something like that, yeah. Is it because he squeezed out of a rhino's arse? It's the exaggerated facial expressions that he, that is a big part of his humor. It just doesn't do much for me. You don't like physical comedy? No, I don't. I like drag comedy.
Starting point is 00:53:26 Hmm. My, I'm like Brett out there. I think I said this in my interview too. You are? Movies huge, huge cultural blind spot for me. Like that's where you just miss me is. Really? Someone in the chat did ask what your top three movies were.
Starting point is 00:53:40 Do you even have any? No. I have watched, I'm not kidding you. I have watched one movie in its entirety in like the last five or 60. Oh my gosh. I simply. You're missing a lot of, a lot of entertainment. Yeah, we want in my household.
Starting point is 00:53:54 We are one of those houses. Like it's, we watch. shows? Yeah, but we're, we're mainly, I mean, like, my house is ball slash Bravo. Like, we're one of those. It's like, all right, we watch enough football. Let's flip on the real housewives or vice versa. It's the juxtaposition. Yeah, all right. We've watched enough real housewives. Now can I watch a football game? Can I take it off the lap? Can I put it on the big TV? So that's kind of the world we're operating in. Damn. It shows to. But again, no, no, no movies, no movies. Okay. Yeah. You said you had some things planned for this segment. What, what were they? Questions for us? Oh, I was just going to say some of my, some my observations in the first, uh, first couple of weeks here. I got to get my first one. I wanted to shout this out before
Starting point is 00:54:34 because I feel, you know, like Randy kind of takes a lot of shit here. So you don't say, if anyone's like, yeah, if anyone's like, B, B, B, Boob, what does Randy do all day? I'll say, I was a grinder. I was, yeah, I was clipping stuff my first week and I, we were kind of using a jacked up way to do because it was just the easiest to get started. After the first day, Randy's like this, this audio is not going to fly. Let me hook you up with this. Then he's, got me hooked up on you had a wire with your name on yeah we got we got we got we got everything thing tuned up ready to roll next day crystal clear audio on the clips easy fix good to go then the other thing i had is just i was uh struck by the fact of what happens out i mean it's you know if you're
Starting point is 00:55:10 in wash media hq it's it's it's the same as the podcast it's the same same jokes same talks what you see is what you get folks so you're saying we're authentic yeah yeah exactly so like i didn't think that's important yeah i didn't think we'd be like dillon taking your girl jokes at like 3 p.m. He's taking a lot of girls on any given day. No one's girl is safe. Yeah, but that's happening out there. It is. Yeah. So yeah. Okay. Those are my
Starting point is 00:55:34 main observations. You guys got anything else for me? I want to talk about myself. Chat, anything? I mean, I think some of the people in the chat were actually taking my requests serious. Yeah. But here's me. That doesn't sound like the chat. What are new Brett's
Starting point is 00:55:50 thoughts on the Sweeney ad? Why did they walk to Mordor instead of just taking the Eagles. That's dork shit. I don't watch that. Oh, that's my dog, dude. Oh, then here's some ball knowledge question for you. If you were Tom Brennam, what slur would you have used and what would your
Starting point is 00:56:07 apology be? Do you want to answer that one? It's a deep drive by Castiano's. Yeah. And it's now four nothing game is what I have to say about that. So it just seems. He doesn't know if he's going to put on this headset again. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:18 He does. Spoiler. He doesn't put on that headset again. But Tom Brennan and fully back. Where's he at? He does like the CD. WACC games. So if there's like,
Starting point is 00:56:28 you might catch like a Virginia, Virginia Tech or something, but like, oh, it's a sneaky good game. You might flip it on. You're like, is that Tom Brennaman? The headset back on. Yeah, you will see and here. Tom Brennaman does indeed have the,
Starting point is 00:56:40 have the headset back on. Much more aware of a hot mic now. Yeah. Something I wanted to come in here with, are you guys aware it's the, I don't know, 116th anniversary of Merkel's Bonner today? I was just talking about that.
Starting point is 00:56:51 You familiar? Dylan, you familiar with Merkel? That's the first thing, Chelsea said to me when he woke up. Yeah, woke up. Merkel's boner. Baseball guy, no love. I don't know this one.
Starting point is 00:56:59 You don't know this one? The guy on the Cubs in 1908, someone hits a walkoff. Fans all run on the field, which was common at the time. They're all going nuts to play the Giants in the World Series. The New York Giants, not the New York football giants. And fans are running on the field.
Starting point is 00:57:15 Run scores easily. Merkel starts celebrating, gets confused. He's like 18 or 19 at the time. He's a rookie. And he just kind of starts to wander around the field. He doesn't run to second. So they fish the ball out of the crowd. And they don't know if it's the real ball or not.
Starting point is 00:57:26 They throw it back into play. They appeal the call. They call them out at second. Game over. Cubs win. Cubs go on to win the World Series. Became known as Merkel's boner. So there you go.
Starting point is 00:57:36 Today in history. I need to read up on this. Yeah, you got to read it. It's, they like to put it in like kids books of like zany stories about baseball. I love those books. That was a big book fair player.
Starting point is 00:57:46 Yeah. It's a fun fact about the NFL. That was their last World Series before the one in the 2000s? Yeah, believe so. They went on. over a hundred years without. Wow.
Starting point is 00:57:56 Yeah, so shout out to, shout out to friend Merkel. And then he kind of has like, he was like a hot shot rookie and kind of doesn't have the career that thought he would have after. It's a tough deal. But today,
Starting point is 00:58:05 I don't know anything about this. Shout to Bob Ryan for that one right before I walked in here. I read that. The headline, the headline is Merkel pulls boner. That's, we've all been there, huh?
Starting point is 00:58:17 There was no actual erection. There's no erection. No, exactly. He doesn't like, well, yeah. Yeah. Maybe that,
Starting point is 00:58:23 maybe that's why he was, limping over to first. Oh. It's having trouble. It's a nice babe in the stands. It's always about the owners. Yeah, Merkel's down there with a bow. That thing's huge.
Starting point is 00:58:34 He's got a third leg. There's a tripod on the, no. It's Markle. He paints houses in the half season. Makes $280 a year. He uses it. This is stupid. This sucks.
Starting point is 00:58:52 That's fun. That was great. All right, cool. I think we got a good, I didn't know about the movie thing. It wouldn't affect your employment here, but that is interesting. Yeah. Man, you just so much meat on that bone, man. Yeah, there's, well, I don't even know where to tell you to start.
Starting point is 00:59:05 Like, you got everything's in front of you. It's too late. You can't watch any movie. Don't start now. Everything's in front of you. Where I was going to start one time, this is inspired by listening to the Trapp Draw Oscars podcast. I was just going to go back and watch all the best picture nominees every year since 2000 was going to be how I was going to start. I mean, yeah, it's not the worst place. These are what they're saying are the, but I like,
Starting point is 00:59:24 I like the, you know, like the discourse and stuff around movies, like the, the culture. I'm sure I'd be very into, like, how they're shot and why decisions. There's a John Liguizamo movie. You should start it. It's called The Pest. Check it out. It's probably a good one. Also for that, if I ever, like, for a meetup or something down the road and, like, we're talking about a movie, I will, I shouldn't admit this, but I'm going to.
Starting point is 00:59:44 I will say I've seen it. I just read the plot on Wikipedia. So I can just, like, nod and be like, oh, yeah. So not even sports movies? Yeah, they don't get you going? Yeah. So, like, all, like, I like, like, Bologone. Like Bagonia, like, no, I'm never seen the rookie.
Starting point is 00:59:55 I'm like that. No, I'm never seen the rookie. I'm seen the rookie the year. So, like, I can do the Rowan Gardner, you know, like, obviously. That's easy play for me. To get that. But not a, not a whole lot of actual, actual movies seen on there. But yeah, I'll read them on Wikipedia just like if it's in the geist.
Starting point is 01:00:12 I can be like, oh, yeah, I kind of know. It's funny. I know what we're talking about. The girlfriend and I watched Dancing with the Stars and Jenna Dewan is on it. And they always introduced her as Star of the Rookie. Jenna Dewan. I'm like, Real Star of the. rookie was dylan shivery everyone knows that everyone knows that real quick i'm speaking of dillan shivery

Starting point is 01:02:33 Sauce offered me the extra room in his place, so, which is. Did he? Which is strange, considering I just met him yesterday, but we were out there. You made quite the impression. Yeah, you guys are in there, you guys were in there doing voicemails and me, Brett and Sauce were out there, out there mixing it up. He's in East Side. Hey, are you seriously not going to mention the Chechay made you lunch today?
Starting point is 01:02:51 Oh, yeah. Sorry, I got to, yeah, I got to eat that. She's probably just listening right now, just punching air. Yeah, that I do have, I do have a same. Actually, don't, is a turkey sandwich? Is that what it is? She made you a turkey sandwich with, it might be some sassy mustard on that, John. I'm not sure.
Starting point is 01:03:05 Some wickles. Oh, nice. And some, I believe, some white, some white cheddar. Oh, okay. And some mayo. I'll be. It's going to be gas. I'm going to, I'm going to eat it right after this.
Starting point is 01:03:16 I'm having the same thing. Yeah. Do you think she wrote him a little note? She may have. Randy, I'm sorry that she'd make you lunch, but she did say that you got a sweet treat headed your way at some point. It's going to have Randy's name. Big game age, kind of cookie mugged her the other day, which was kind of a try-hard move. Yeah, and you brought in cookies made by your girlfriend, Hana.
Starting point is 01:03:37 Yes, yes. She, it's okay to say her name on here. Yeah, that's fine. Shut up. Shut up. Yeah, that's what you do. If I said her full government, it'd be, it's a tough spelling on the last name. So even if I said it to be, it'd be hard to find it.
Starting point is 01:03:50 I'm not going to, but it'd be hard to find it. It's Polychronopolis. Okay. You nailed that. A few people know that. I'm excited for my sweet treat. You should be. You should be.
Starting point is 01:04:01 All right. I guess I'll just... You got muffins. Fuck on. Dave. One muffin. It's pretty clear that you're her favorite. She was like, hey, this is for Dave.
Starting point is 01:04:10 Bring it to Dave. And I'll bring it in a fucking muffin for Dave or whatever it is. I don't want to hear it from you, Dave. When I give you stew and you don't give me gumbo or meatballs. So I don't want to hear it. Gumbo is a real tough time. Hawk to the hand. Took a long time.
Starting point is 01:04:24 I made my rue. You got to make your own rue. Got to. Um, okay. What's been your favorite lunch thus far? As far as like what, you know,
Starting point is 01:04:32 because you've, you've kind of had to run the Lamar gauntlet. Yeah. I've been, I made two trips to Easy Tiger. So I've enjoyed, uh, place is good.
Starting point is 01:04:39 Both things I got from both times I couldn't finish my sandwich. So that's a, yeah, that's a, BLT was something. Yeah, that's a hike. I got that and I think it was the,
Starting point is 01:04:46 the Texas Rubin was the other thing, some brisket pastrami on there. Damn. was Omaha, Nebraska inventor of the Rubin, by the way. Oh, wow. Yeah. Blackstone Hotel. You do have a question from the chat.
Starting point is 01:04:58 Your favorite spot in Austin, just in general, do you have one yet? Has not been a step. What's the, is it just the, is a deep eddy cabaretzoray? It's right outside the deep eddy pool. Yeah. Yeah. I like that. I've been there in my past going.
Starting point is 01:05:12 My favorite bar. I've been, I've been there a couple times and I like that. That would probably be my favorite haunt end of that I've been to. Good taste. Yeah. So I've been to, you know, nothing, nothing crazy, but I've been to a couple of places around Austin in the past. I haven't really established it yet here. Uh, last question.
Starting point is 01:05:28 Are you, are you, are you and Brett taking down all the pretzels? Oh, yeah. See, that was, I came in here ready to address that. I actually did not have any of those pretzels. Okay. I wasn't sure. That's a big bag of bread. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:40 He's got a pretzel problem. I didn't get any of the Doritos. He's got a pretzel. He's got a bit of popcorn either. So I've been hammered white cheddar. I'm going to pick up some more that, the smart food. Okay. The Clritos club was great.
Starting point is 01:05:49 Look, I've had. We have to, we, Brett can't have any. I think, I think he had like six of them because they, I had one bag of burritos. I had zero. I had zero. I had two. David bars two over the course. Well, whoa, what are we talking about?
Starting point is 01:06:00 The star food or the Doritos, uh, collab? Oh, I had one. I had two. I had zero. I had one. I, but here's the thing. That whole box was a variety. So it might have just been four, four and four.
Starting point is 01:06:10 I think Barrett did have one. Barre had one too. That's the wild car. It got gassed up to him. I'm in the David Bar. I'll tell you that. I'm having, I'm one David Bar bar per day. One per day is it's fair.
Starting point is 01:06:21 Yeah. I've been also trying to land, Dave, I was actually thinking about this before I got this job. I've been trying to land like this cookie dough David Bard taste so good. I forget Peter Attia's in the Epstein Files joke. And I just, that's not great, but I've been trying to, I've been working on something with that in my head. It's a test below. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 01:06:40 Yeah, I get it. I've been thinking about that for a while. Yeah, he just said he was noting that, um, no cows. I can leave it at that. Salted peanut butter is the best one. No, I'm, I'm, I'm cookie dough. I'll admit, I've had some pretzels, but we had two big bags of dots. And of those two big bags, I have probably had 3% of those pretzels.
Starting point is 01:07:00 3%. 3%? He pours a mountain of them on the place for lunch. They're good. So give me some honey mustard ones because she says that he won't have them. He's just going hard on his carb loading. He really is. Pretzel.
Starting point is 01:07:12 So yeah, I'm sorry, Brett. I just, yeah. All right. Brett was trying to like say, like, I don't know. someone else was eating it. You beat the allegations. Yes. It was weird we had double bretzel.
Starting point is 01:07:22 No. I got to stand, you know, like, I'll hammer some dots, though. Like I said, Pride of Dakota. I said that last time I was on. They're good. Yeah. They're great. Shout out.
Starting point is 01:07:31 Well, thank you. We want to get Dr. Pepper Coke zeros. Yeah. And your olipops or whatever. Dr. Pepper zeros. Wow. It's expensive. We already have the fridge sakes.
