I actually feel like I've been podcasting for more than six years. That's because you're really good at it. We do lots of episodes. We're not. You are good at it, man. No, but you guys do. I mean, yeah, you do way more episodes than I do. We get more reps, but you've got the quality of reps.

I feel like that would make it. You don't feel like you've been doing this for like a decade? It feels about six years, I guess. Maybe a little bit longer. The years of the previous employer were kind of a blur. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I guess it wasn't actually as long.

The podcasting portion of that experience was actually a very small percentage of the run there. It was. Yeah. Actually, so much so that our former CEO, Madison, when we started doing Touching Base, we did it during regular working hours of the day. Yeah. He came to us and he's like, would you guys mind recording before work? We would have been so – we would have never made it. In other words –

Because we hated each other already. In other words, this seems like a hobby for you guys and not an actual worthwhile work know worthwhile work endeavor i don't think any of us so please don't do it during regular we didn't really know what we didn't know what we had to be fair to be fair i understand other other parts of the business was like yeah i guess man so we're vital at that point but we recorded at 8 a.m for a long time that sucked That sucked, dude. Yeah. That explains all the tension with producer Micah. Yeah. He's just in there, and Micah's up there making tacos at 8 a.m. Yeah.

Would it serve sizzling? Usually they're fantastic. They were off their game. Still had a great time. Margaritas were good. Saturday, wouldn't cut the game everyone was talking about. Parks had a soccer game at 10 a.m. Did they win they rolled

parks he's so close to scoring the goal and he's much better than he was last year the dude's hustling he's in the action he's disrupting the other team he's he's everywhere man really proud watch a little football watch a little football dead air man i i've never been so excited and so let down at the same i'm so deflated i guess i should say so you were in public for that no i i i had the opportunity to go watch it at a bar with some friends and i declined because i wanted to be alone i wanted to be alone. I wanted to watch a game alone. That's a real fan. I'm kind of glad that I did it that way.

Quinn Ewers is so good. He was dicing. More on this later on too much, Jeff. He was dicing. Guy just loves sports. The Alabama defense. 130 yards in the first quarter. Not going to get any pullback from me get any more had some catches been made anyway a lot to be excited about but he's gonna miss significant time which is

really crushing what does the late afternoon look like for Dylan coming off of a fairly gut-wrenching loss I got my shit together and I met Bay and some friends downtown i stepped out for a bit one got some drinks we went to parlor and yard and the key bar oh and then we uh then we went to home slice pizza and just went off you're fantastic of course your college apartment famously called a key bar right yeah you dude you are a hell of a pianist we got some za saturday how was parlor there were a million people in there there was shattered broken glass all over the floor it was a mess in that place what's the what's the age demo at parlor on your we're too old it was a little as a bit older than i was expecting it's it's 24 to 30 yeah i was one of the older folks

in there of course but i wasn't the oldest so it didn't look like parents weekend in there no it wasn't like why is this guy and you're creeping on the young girls it was like i very much fit in with the crowd it was nice people were happy that you were creeping on the young girls ran into a couple backers it was great really yeah did they uh did they buy you some shots of uh fireball no one of them was i met on the street uh we i was on the way to key bar you're heavy in the streets yeah well that's where i'm from man ear to it all the time sunday got the homie back we chilled man we went to a birthday party you got a trampoline off trampoline one of these trampoline parks you got a trampoline off meaning you he jumped on trampolines yeah did you jump on a

trampoline no no i didn't it was did you think about it i let the kids did yeah well they had they have those above what's it called the basketball rim oh yeah yeah yeah um there's a name for the sport anyway it doesn't matter they had the slam ball slam ball sure yeah i was like man i want to get down there and just throw some some mammo just tomahawks down why didn't you that's an injury waiting to happen man it is i worry about the ankles among other things and then i watched um maybe the worst performance of the weekend that was our dallas cowboys yeah i was hoping that one wouldn't come up but but thank you. And that's it. Dude, the thought of you or anyone really getting injured, throwing down a, at a kid's party, going down a slam ball dunk. And like, so you're up there, let's say just blow your knee and you're on the trampoline. First of all, people have to like

bounce their way over to you to get you. And like, what demoralizing is that there's places hopping over to get you snapped like femurs waiting to happen and and the more they the the quicker they move to get to you the more it's going to move you and hurt you so they have to like yeah they have to like teeter around the edge crawled out on a trampoline we're one top five worst place to get injured oh trampoline park you sign your life away when you walk into that place waivers and things of that nature it's extensive why didn't you should have taken a photo and sent it to me i would have reviewed it for you i feel like it was pretty standard anyway well sunday doc review just wet the whistle a little bit david me and dylan did that more on that later hey barrett what did you do this weekend oh man well uh i had my parents in

town they were here also uh we we all went to said uh texas versus alabama game on saturday whole squad had tickets whole squad had tickets um absolutely electric atmosphere disappointing outcome obviously uh friday night I got to take them to a little Halle Brothers shindig. We've been known to put down a good party, and they've been wanting to see one. And it was a banger. The DJ was mixing up all sorts of genres, very, very good tunes, free booze, free food, as usual. Any tropical house? There was some tropical house mixed in i mean this guy was going from he knew how to he knew how to set the you know the crest of the wave for a party so like

first 45 minutes there was some pops and 80s went a little country you know a lot of people wearing their boots it's good time and then as as as the as the evening continued he he moved into like little hip-hop little wa, a little tropical house. He just, he had it down. We had Fort Lonesome out there doing some, doing embroidery on shirts and jackets. So that was a good time. Where was the venue for this? The Howler Brothers store in Clarksville.

Oh, nice. The Howler Hacienda. Got it. So I took my parents over to Taco Flats after that. Good spot. Good spot. I want to throw something at y'all we all frequent the uh the la pacinas and the peacocks and clarks and junes and the assorted the mml lineup mml lineup yes they are what's mml for the folks at home that's that's uh it what used to be mcguire mormon hospitality it's now mcguire mormon lambert hospitality known as uh mml and just a juggernaut food cartel is a juggernaut of a restaurant group group yeah basically they dominate the austin scene and it basically anytime

like some old institution is like going out of business or the space is up for grabs there's like a 70% chance that Maguire Mormon has, has already procured it and we'll put another new, like trendy restaurant in it. So, uh, eater Austin, uh, maybe a couple of weeks ago. Yeah. Two weeks ago here, they lean into the, the kind of the biting nature. Like they're, they, I feel like they kind of have a love hate relationship with the, this, you know, the direction that Austin has has been headed in the last several years. And so they kind of were throwing shade at this $80 chicken dish at Pecan Square Cafe and one of the newer McGuire Mormon spots. $80 for a chicken dish for a chicken dish.

I've never heard of such a thing. I'm a chicken guy. It's like a full chicken. And there's like lots of people in the comments. It's like you picture you. You posted the picture of the half chicken. So it's actually double that if you get the $80 one, there was, you know, this whole debate, but I just want to read you to the first sentence and, uh, and see what you think. Upscale Austin hospitality group, McGuire, Mormon Lambert hospitality seems to have a formula for their restaurants, heavy ambiance, good,

but not stellar food, and outlandish pricing. Yeah. Do you think they nailed that? That's perfect. That is perfect. That describes Sammy's to a T. Yeah.

The ambiance is fantastic. The food is like, it's not bad by any means, but like for what you're paying, it should be better. They have just like the way that places feel and look down to a T. They crush it. Like they absolutely crush it. Like they just, they don't miss. So much so that when I go to other cities, like a lot of times the restaurant scene is actually lacking regardless of what the food is like because it's almost impossible to like meet the vibe of a McGuire andire mormon restaurant they do a great job at that and that's why they they crush it yeah the restaurants

why they can't all the time charge 80 for the the chicken i need to know more about this chicken so it's a full chicken chicken it's a full chicken yep it's a full um yeah let's see it's a yeah a whole chicken yeah i'm not doing 80 for chicken for a whole chicken though it's not even fried right you can get a you can get a nine ounce filet for 60 bucks yeah why would you want chicken no is this because of bidenflation uh i would say it's it's um it's yeah yeah skimflation maybe okay yeah you heard of that one no that's where you that's where they skimflation is where it's the same price but you get less oh okay yeah yeah kind of like quiet quitting sure yeah sounds very similar yeah uh sorry i just wanted i wanted to throw y'all throw

that at y'all let's see if you like beautiful i love i love a good negative review. I really do. There was one out of Dallas that we read a couple months ago that was just scathing for some brand new place. And the funny thing was it just torched it. My sister went two weeks later, and she was like, actually really good. I was like, oh, wow. Not the first time they've been wrong. Yeah. Anything else?

What did your Sunday look like? I did a Bama game, did a little Pine House pizza on Saturday night. else would your sunday look like i am a game did a little pint house pizza on saturday night uh and then sunday i was um you know i was flipping flapjacks whipping up a little breakfast for the whole squad and uh and then um just enjoying the football enjoying enjoying the nfl back in my life i'm an nfl guy over college football guy. Like I love Texas more than, more than all of it. But like when it comes to paying attention to NFL or college football, I'm all NFL. Interesting. What's your go-to if you're having to cook breakfast for four or five people? Yeah. Flapjacks? Uh, no. So I, it, no flipping flapjacks just sounded better.

I was actually making French toast. Okay. Very different, but it's easier. It's, it's a little easier from scratch though correct yeah i mean i didn't make the bread oh you didn't you didn't have yeast no yeast did you hit him with glaring lack of yeast on this guy you hit him with some scrambies yeah yeah okay scrambled eggs bacon french toast that's a good lineup that's a good lineup i would enjoy that yeah so that was it man it was good it was a solid weekend it's a good good weekend my weekend kind of kicked off friday afternoon played golf with our buddy ryan his buddy josh you know i bucked the trend of me playing like blowing the round through the first five holes i was like four over through five or something,

which is not great, but I'm still in it. Back nine, made the mistake. I've got a little pro tip for the folks at home. This is free game, as the kids say. Ready? If you ever have the opportunity at the turn to enjoy a grilled cheese sandwich, but not your grandma's grilled cheese,

it's a new twist on an old fave, pimento cheese and beef rib. On the sandwich. On the sandwich. Turns out you probably shouldn't eat that as you're making the turn. It sounds a bit heavy. And about to go play nine more holes in 95-degree heat. Sounds heavy.

Sounds delicious, but heavy. It was phenomenal. I'm blaming that on the north of 50 on the back wasn't good it's a tough course dave it is but i i know i normally play that back pretty well it was still really fun so shout out to ryan for having me out um friday out. Friday night, didn't do much. I got a wild hair and went onto Amazon and ordered, rented, did not buy the Al Pacino, Robert De Niro movie, Heat, which I haven't seen in over a decade. And I forgot how over the top Al Pacino is in that movie. I mean, it is the most Al Pacino movie of all time. Did your wife watch this movie?

No, absolutely not. You think she did not watch a three-hour Michael Mann thriller? It just had nothing to do with it. I don't think I've ever seen that one. She walked out, Val Kilmer. She's like, what is this? What are you doing? I'm just there.

I'm like, I took an early bird and I'm watching Heat. What's it look like? What does it look like, what is this? What are you doing? I'm just there. I'm like, I took an early bird and I'm watching heat. What's it look like? What does it look like, babe? Then Saturday, yeah, got up, had some FOMO. I kind of, the entire end of last week and through the weekend, there was a buzz in Austin. And it's obviously because there's a ton of people from Bama in town and there's just intrigue over the game. Very, very fun weekend, I'm sure.

The bars were probably hopping. Y'all can speak better to that. Yeah. I was kind of like, man, I kind of want to get out there and just mix it up a little bit. And then, eh. At the same time, I knew West 6 was going to be a nightmare. Like, lines everywhere.

You know, I waited maybe two minutes total. Actually, not even. six was going to be a nightmare like lines everywhere you know i have the good kind i waited maybe a two minutes total actually not even i think it was very it wasn't bad at all um it was very crowded but it wasn't like so overwhelming i got uber just fine but there were a lot of people out and about it was pretty wild yeah i gotta say it's it's um one of the things that that the weekend really had me kind of keyed up for is texas joining the sec like yeah we may never win a a uh you know a conference championship or play for a national championship again once we're in the sec but uh but the fact that like it's kind of a bummer that now that bam, like bam is over and like all the rest of the home games are kind of

shitty. Yeah. And there won't be, there won't be that buzz going into a weekend again. Yeah. But fast forward two years and it's just going to be like nonstop action every single weekend. Does the traditional Bama dude.

And I guess that goes for all S a sec dudes. Does, do they come into town with their, umthe-top come-over swoops? I saw. So there was a young Bama male contingency at the aforementioned Howler party, and it was just swoop, swoop, swoop, swoop, swoop. Still alive. Still alive.

I feel like the caliber of fan who travels to away games is a little different than what you would see walking around campus in Tuscaloosa. You know what I mean? Fair. Austin's a destination city for some. If you're in Tuscaloosa or a Bama fan, you got a chance. Of course you're going. They're still doing the swoop?

Oh, yeah. So they have not transitioned to the e-boy TikTok haircut? No, not aok haircut in sight that's interesting because like at the the schools you would think that you know would send kids to bama the west lakes the all i see is the tiktok and of course i don't even know how to describe it they brushed it forward curly and brushed forward and short on the sides with a dangly earring couldn't be me mainly for male pattern baldness reasons but yeah, yeah, could not be me. It's a terrible haircut. Not a good haircut.

It's pretty bad. Yeah. That's good that they showed up at the Howler thing. Although, I mean, you know, I'm not sure if I had to choose that or the swoop, which I'd lean towards. Right. Sure. Right.

Yeah, watched the game at home. Had a lot of fun. Stayed up watching 9-15 Baylor-BYU kick. Sorry. Up until 1-15 to watch a terrible two overtime game just just mistake after mistake missed kicks penalties just a terrible game shout out to byu though that looked like a fun atmosphere in provo um sunday did something a little different did a dim sum brunch you guys ever done we did one in vegas actually was that technically a dim sum brunch. You guys ever done? We did one in Vegas, actually. Was that technically a dim sum

that we did on your bachelor party? Yeah. That was phenomenal. Didn't know what, full disclosure, I didn't know what a dim sum brunch was until your bachelor party. I'd never taken part in such an event, but.

Remember those little biscuits we had with the duck in them? They were bomb. Was that a bao, B-A-O? Sure. A bun? I think it was just a bun. Oh, it was just a bun. They call those like a pork bun, were bomb. Was that a bao? B-A-O? Sure. A bun? I think it was just a bun. Oh, it was just a bun.

They called those like a pork bun, right? Maybe it's a bao. Maybe the bao might be the actual... Don't know. Well, we did wu chao. The actual word for it. Wu chao. Very...

That should be... If people DM me asking for cool restaurants while they're in Austin, I always say wu chao because it is a fun atmosphere. They've got a great playlist and I think the food's really, really good.

The Dim Sum brunch was next level. We don't do brunch very often. We brought Rhodes, we brought Baby Boy and he was, to his credit, really good.

I always, when I go to a place like Wu Chow that's like, you know, fun, boozy brunch where there's going to be people like looking to party,

I'm always like, oh, I don't want to be the guy whose kid's ruining their time. Yeah. But he was great. And there were other kids there too. Dan Dan noodles, soup dumplings, all that. Phenomenal.

Even had a beer. Exactly one. Pretty good day. Went home, watched. Jeez, I watched Texans Colts. Barrett Davis Mills. Not bad. He pretty good.

I was in group chats all this week saying the Texans, I think they're going to be frisky. I think they're a little sneaky. The defense looks very good. They've got a former Baylor great general Petrie back there. They were being tossed around as like potential worst record in a week. I don't think so. No, I don't think so.

That's probably north on 45. If you go about three and a half hours north. Yeah, we'll see. Last night, of course, watched the Cowboy game. Then I watched House of Dragons. Interesting episode, to say the least. Yeah.

family members that you've never met so you kind of have to be on your best behavior. When you decide to become a parent, when you become a parent, you sign up for a life of that kind of crap. You do. Your kids' birthday parties, their friends' birthday parties that you go to, talking soccer games and gymnastics, all that stuff.

Being childless, that's not part of your life. And I do get it. So I guess I'm coming to your defense a little bit because we expect all that shit. We know that it's gonna be part of our life for the next however many years. Yeah, and I mean, know it's uh i'll i'll stand behind the take i'll also just like add that like i'll still take the awkward weird saturday hang with one beer to get to see people then not take it it's just like it's you know

And so, you know, it's kind of interesting to, to, to have the, you got that decision to make. Cause it's, it's, it's, uh, it's running up against Sunday night football, which I got to think hurts the overnight ratings for game of Thrones. Cause like, you know, you know how I'm sure bucks Cowboys, like the biggest TV show of the year. I was like, so far remember it was on. Yeah. So, So, you know, hopefully when it's back for season two and 24, they throw it down in the summer again because I do prefer that. If not for the tweets, I would have forgot about it.

Last night's episode, good? I thought it was a good one. Dave said he was maybe not in the right headspace. It got better as it went on. It was just – I saw some booty chatter about an incestual incestuous what's that word incestuous yeah yeah orgy i don't know is that facts i you know i don't want to spoil it for you or the folks at home but maybe if people are tweeting about it it's got to be true i will

I know all the dudes out there have been wondering, ladies too, fall fits with the retail therapy guy, one half of the show. That's right. Barrett Dudley here. Yeah. Barrett, I got a lot of questions as we transition into fall. Uh-huh. Where do you want to start? Can we start with outerwear?

I think outerwear is important, and it's an area of my game that's traditionally been lacking. Yeah. Everyone says that. You say that often. You text me sometimes after the show. Like, what are you thinking with that? What the fuck's up with your outerwear?

Yeah, so I'm actually going to give a little HT to Randy. Randy was watching a movie on Netflix called Gray Man, starring that boy Ryan Gosling and Captain America himself, Chris Evans. It's a hot cast. And he pointed out a jacket that he liked that Ryan Gosling was wearing. And it's the jacket that he's trying to hunt down for his, his fall outerwear. And, uh, and, and the jacket in question was essentially like a, what, what we consider like a mechanics jacket or a work jacket. The most famous version of this is the, uh, is the Carhartt Detroit jacket. Sure. Um, but the Dickies Eisenhower is also very similar to obviously big, you know, giant

brands and that kind of that workwear sector, but that, that look and that style of a jacket is basically what you want if you're grabbing something new this fall. And the, the, the key here, the kind of the big difference from, you know, the jackets of, uh, of, of maybe a year ago, two years ago, five years ago, is that what you want on your jacket right now is a collar. Okay. Collars are in the car. You, you, you want kind of like a, like a standard collar on your jacket. And so there are lots of different styles of jackets that, that do this, but the, the, the kind of the Carhartt workwear inspired stuff is kind of out there on the forefront. Um, Oh, that is, that's a good jacket. Yeah. And so, uh, but, but there's all sorts of classics that use this. There's collared

Harrington jackets. They're, uh, you know, short coats have this type of collar. Um, and, and, uh, and, and we're the, the shift is away from, from stuff like, uh, you know, bomber jackets or like the, the motorcycle style, like leather jackets. Uh, it's a little bit more, just a little bit like, uh, more it's, it's, it's heavier on the workwear. That's so Midwest Randy. I can totally see him rocking this. Is this going to break the bank? If you're just a regular feller like myself? No, that's one of the nice things about this style of jacket is that there are a lot of lightweight options too.

And the materials are generally stuff like cotton and canvas. And so typically there are lots of options for these types of jackets uh you know on a pretty affordable end of the spectrum and even when you get into to the to that you know kind of higher end versions of these you're still usually at you know somewhere in the 300 you mentioned the dickies eisenhower i'm seeing one for 70 bucks really man that's probably an insulated padded one i think you can line yeah lined like uh kanye famously wore a just a solid black dickies eisenhower jacket to the met gala uh met gala a couple years ago that jacket's 40 bucks let's go what's he doing with the eyewear uh what is he doing with the eyewear i've just been noticing the big is he doing with the eyewear? What is he doing with the eyewear? I've just been noticing.

Is he doing the big shield thing? It looks like a modified pit viper. Yeah, yeah. Which I know those are kind of back. I don't know if, I kind of credit baseball, baseball guy for bringing those back into style, but maybe ski guy too. Yeah, when it comes to sunglasses trends,

there are celebs, models, actors, actors musicians they really lean into like the extremes so you might remember like kim kardashian and bella hadid wearing like the tiny little sunglasses like the little like morpheus looking ones a couple years ago oh yeah that that really was not for like regular people you know nobody was going and dropping four figs on like the balenciaga versions except for joe burrow kind of did yeah yeah he dipped his toe he dipped his toe um and so that that's what the the big shield type you know giant pit viper it's kind of like that to me it's kind of like a you know normies need not apply say no more dylan do you consider yourself a normie probably yeah yeah a lot uh it's it's just a very like you know kind of intentional look that that that you need a whole

wardrobe to kind of to go around if you want to do like the the crazier sunglass trends you put on something crazy and you throw on like your uh patagonia pullover right it's yeah what's what are you doing like a bit clearly um yeah all right what what should we be looking out for because can we talk uh shoes let's talk shoes i always need help i i always need help with shoes when it comes to the fall i never never know what's popping. Yeah. What's new? This is something that I'll borrow pretty much straight from one of the fall trends that we talked about on retail therapy. But shoes, like the headline is that shoes are bigger and chunkier than they have been in the past.

So you want big lug soles, you want lots of tread and that lends itself obviously to, you know, to another kind of through line that, that that's been in fashion and been in, um, male wardrobes, especially over the last few years, which is the, uh, which is Gorkor, which is all of the Arcteryx in Patagonia and, and very like mountain outdoor forward stuff. Terrics in Patagonia and very mountain outdoor forward stuff. Okay. And so that translates to shoes in the form of boots that are very hiking inspired or straight up hiking boots.

I recommended a pair of Merrells that are 120 bucks that look very fashion forward. Is that what I need if I'm going to go to Breckenridge and walk around town amongst the snow and ice? Yes. Because I was doing Breck in kill shots. That's God, that was so stupid how I didn't slip. That's a head injury waiting to happen. Yeah.

Um, and so, you know, Dylan, you've met, you've, you've, uh, noticed that I've been in Solomon sneakers a lot. They're gas. Um, the, I've got on a pair today. Like I'm wearing Solomon sneakers three or four times a week right now. I was going to ask if you're moving to Boulder or something, you're putting on big Boulder vibes.

That that's definitely, I mean, as we head into fall, I'm glad you mentioned like kind of stomping around and Breckenridge or wherever. Uh, I mean, recency bias, maybe feel very inspired by the summer trip that I just took to tell you ride, but like overall with all of the things that I'm going to talk about today, whether it's like the workwear style jackets, um, you know, you you're, you're getting this kind of like beat up look with a, with a more traditional collar. Uh, I'll, I'll mention again that like, if you haven't loose up, loosened up your, your denim yet, it is now officially time throw the skinny jeans out.

Uh, and like the whole news for us, the whole look, the whole look does kind of feel a little bit like, you know, it is very like that, like it's not full on mountain man, but it is very kind of rugged ranch. Like you could be in the mountains or out on the ranch or, you it just left the uh the body shop that you own but you're the owner of it does that make sense yeah yeah yeah you're not actually getting dirty you're not while you're there you're not you're not you you are you yourself are not getting on that slidey thing and rolling under the car but you could if you had to okay right so um i've been hovering over some uh my first pair of jays okay oh actually the shoes

that dave is wearing right now man inspired me these old things also dab a day from love island okay a big uh jordan one low guy yeah yeah um i think. I think I'm going to cop in the near future. Yeah, so – I'm going to wear those this fall. So the – yeah, absolutely. The Jordan 1 low is – it's a really good sneaker to get into right now. Finally, after years of people begging for it, the air Jordan one high Chicago, which is the, the, the, the classic color blocking, red, uh, red siding, white

toe box, white side panels, black swoosh, and then the, the, the blocking red siding, white toe box, white side panels, black swoosh. These are the classics. The classics. It's the all-time Jordan. As classic as it gets. The Virgil Abloh off-white version of this shoe in 2017 is essentially what set modern- day sneaker culture into motion.

And they're moving on pushing Jordan threes, fire reds just dropped this weekend. Um, very, another very famous classic, like OG colorway of Jordan shoe.

Uh, the Jordan four is still really big right now. And threes and fours, you'll note kind of call back to what I said at the jump on, on footwear. They're bigger, they're chunkier. They're a little bit more hefty than the Jordan one high. Yeah. They're not there. The, you know, the Jordan, the Jordan one high was so popular for so long

because it was very sleek because it, it fit under a slimmer pair of jeans, slimmer pair of, uh, of pants. So, so the, the, the threes, fours, a one lows. And those are hovering at about 200, which is not quite double what these retailed for. It's a reasonable splurge. And yeah, and I'm, I'm acknowledging that this is a splurge. Um, here's the thing. I think the value of, of this shoe is only going to go up because it does have that Tom Sachs name behind it. And I, and this is a shoe that because it is supposed to be so democratic and simplistic and general purpose, it almost doesn't matter what you're into fashion wise or what you're wearing. This shoe is going to work with what you have in your closet. These are kind of gas. Yeah. Can we pivot over to the ladies? Can you give us a, we can, we can, you said these were for the ladies too okay yeah yeah so good so decent segue here interesting are the uh the big chunky i know you mentioned that that's kind of the style but like the over the top 90s chunk is that's is that

continuing on yes there is there's definitely some of that um for ladies, you know, like the, the, the, the Chelsea boot with like a big fat, more Tyree soul is still pretty big. And then, so, you know, you can really lean into that nineties vibe of that with like brands like doc Martens. Um, there are obviously like some, some really, uh, fat fashion stuff. That's doing that as well. Uh, you know, for the, for the girls in the warmer climates, you can get the same look with like a loafer. If you don't want like a full, you know, ankle boot or lace up boot

or something like that, you know, it doesn't, it's not going to cool down here for another two months. Uh, and then, I mean, you know, sneakers, it's, it's, uh, it's, it's honestly a lot of the same stuff that it is for guys right now. Like there's not, I'm not seeing a lot that's specific for women in the shoe department other than like, you know, I mean, we can talk like high end, like heels and pumps and kind of like more nightlux going out vibes. Right. When like the, you know, kind of a lot of glitzy sandals and pumps, um, brands like Paris, Texas and, and mock and mock are like really big for that kind of like that glow up that, that night out look.

But as far as like your general casual wear, it's, it's chunkier sneakers, it's lug sold boots, it's Birkenstocks. So there's a lot of crossover between the men's and women's footwear right now. stocks. So there's a lot of crossover between the men's and women's footwear right now. Did Ons and Allbirds kill the driving loafer for the dude right out of college working in a big town? Yes, I would say so. And then I think a lot of those guys have picked up on two things. One, the penny loafer, the leather sold penny loafer picked up steam and fashion as well. And so it kind of came in and crushed that soft sold bottom. Um, and then, uh, the, the, a lot of those dudes are actually kind of on the Birkenstock wave too, because that's such a kind of a classic, like, like that's one of those things that just comes in and out of

fashion every five years. Basically I can think back to like high school dudes where I'm Birkenstocks with their Abercrombie. You know what I mean? Yeah. Like there was some of that and then it went away and then it came back and then it went away and then it came back. And now it's like the, the clogs, um, or the Bostons are super hot right now. Uh, but the classic, like Arizona two strap sandal also very big. Um, but yeah, yeah. but yeah yeah your your point is your insight is a good one the the the i mean so really right on all birds it's really athleisure

kind of killed that tech bro athleisure really kind of killed the driving loafer i would say that makes sense um man i'm sitting here trying to like go through my my roll decks of jeans i learned so much how many of these how many pairs of jeans i will now be torching or no just i'll donate them or just cut them into jorts yeah it's it's it's not that slim is bad it's like it's more what i'm saying is that like if i can see your calf muscle they need to go what if you don't have calf muscles well then i'd say you're in luck okay dylan but if you see these things if you're getting any type of like that's mega thin like yeah slim i should say yeah yeah um okay that's good to know but any you know if if they're kind

of if they're hugging your ankle a little too much if they're if you've got nothing coming onto your shoes a little bit like got it if you if if if the jeans stretch stretch when you flex your quad oh yeah that's the type of that's what i'm talking about again difficult for me no there's there's always room for for you know just a nice slim cut i've got some cool kids on the street and i see them walking to walking to school and they're doing the socks. The Brando, really, the socks with Crocs. That's a big look amongst the high school kids. I can't get behind the Crocs thing. Look, I'm 38.

I've never owned a pair of Crocs. I'm probably not going to ever own a pair of Crocs. I'm a Chacos guy. Everybody knows that. So if I need something to be out and about. Everyone does know that. You are too. You hopped on that wave a little bit after me.

What do you think about the crocs yeah i mean so the crocs kind of fall into like the the popularity of mules and clogs right now and so there there's a whole version of that shoe that you know everybody from crocs to fear of God, a high end like streetwear designer brand is doing, which is essentially like a rubber or kind of polyurethane EVA, you know, like water tolerable shoe. Right. And so you've got like Crocs. I think part of the reason that they're so popular is because you can pick up a pair of Crocs for $40. You don't have to get on StockX and buy the Yeezy Foam Runner for $250. You know what I mean? You need to get those.

No, I don't. They're very accessible. They can be accessorized. I'm not sure if you guys have seen versions like the Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville ones. No, but I'm interested. They come with these things called... shit, what are they called? There's some name for like the little adornments and little decorations that go into the holes. There's a Crocs Jimmy Buffett collab.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I take back everything I said about being 38 and not owning Crocs. There are a lot of Crocs collabs with many famous people. Yeah, there's Minions crocs uh gibbets rise of grew gibbets are what the uh are what the crocs decorations are called so i think that that lends itself to like the young people wearing them they're customizable you can throw all sorts of flair on them um but yeah yeah they they really they're kind of ugly for the sake of being ugly. look that you're going for it.
