Citation Needed - Fax Machines

Episode Date: May 21, 2025

Fax (short for facsimile), sometimes called telecopying or telefax (short for telefacsimile), is the telephonic transmission of scanned printed material (both text and images), normally to a telephone... number connected to a printer or other output device. The original document is scanned with a fax machine (or a telecopier), which processes the contents (text or images) as a single fixed graphic image, converting it into a bitmap, and then transmitting it through the telephone system in the form of audio-frequency tones. The receiving fax machine interprets the tones and reconstructs the image, printing a paper copy.[1] Early systems used direct conversions of image darkness to audio tone in a continuous or analog manner. Since the 1980s, most machines transmit an audio-encoded digital representation of the page, using data compression to transmit areas that are all-white or all-black, more quickly.

This week is the free webinar on the seven key factors on how to take back control of your time in your

How you show up as a mother, as a wife, as a sister, as a boss, employee, whoever you are. It's possible and there is a strategy to making it happen. But if you don't register, you won't know. I'm not sharing this information anywhere else. So head on over to momisincontrol.com forward slash join.
Starting point is 00:03:32 Hey ladies. Okay so today I wanted to talk about what happens when you transition from one identity to the other. So if you've heard me talk about what I call my sustainable ambition theory, so visualize a triangle and it kind of looks like a like a Haslow's hierarchy of needs where you have the bottom half of the triangle. So there's like four slices of the triangle. So the bottom is survival mode. The next one is momentum. The third layer is the rival and the fourth layer is abundance. So typically when people are reaching out,
Starting point is 00:04:18 you know, trying to find the mom is in control podcast or they'll start working with me in my mastery program, they're in survival mode. And That might be with time management, that might be with making yourself a priority. You just, you chronically feel like, or parenting, screaming, yelling, not feeling confident as a parent. You might be chronically putting out fires, that's when you know you're in survival mode or living paycheck to paycheck, it's just like there's never enough,
Starting point is 00:04:51 there's never enough, you're always like treading water or just catching your breath. So think about this. If this is you, ask yourself, do I know what it feels like to live in a thrival state when all areas of your life are thriving and you're content? Do you actually know what that feels like? If the answer is no, then you won't actually know what that feels like until you get there.
Starting point is 00:05:26 Now answer this question. Did your mother ever experience a thrival state or was she chronically in survival mode? Was your grandmother in a thrival state or was she chronically in a in a survival mode? The truth is we these patterns these behavioral patterns are passed down through lineage and if you come from a lineage of survival which most of the population does just based on historical patterns in women's history, but also in history in general, economic history, things like that. With the new age of the internet and being able to scale and create sustainable business
Starting point is 00:06:19 models and think outside the box and just the way that things have advanced, people are now and not even just the internet, just more knowledge and power and connection. Education is not governed as much. So people are allowed to step outside of that box and just teach each other things like, hey, I found this great way to make money or, hey, I wrote a book on this because it's sustainable and there's just more connection and possibility for people. found this great way to make money or hey, I wrote a book on this because it's sustainable and there's just more connection and possibility for people. So it's becoming more well known.
Starting point is 00:06:50 In my world, it feels like everybody knows this, but I know that that's not true because I could literally walk to my neighbor's house and they have no idea what I'm talking about. So the point is the work here is never done and you will chronically see people living in survival mode. The reason for today's podcast is you don't know what you don't know. So if I want to, I don't know, let's say I want to up level my business or I want to be able to never yell again at my children or I want to have like an amazing marriage with my partner. Um, or I want to, you know, like donate a shit ton of money to one of my favorite charities, or I want to travel the world with my family. I want to homeschool.
Starting point is 00:07:36 That's something that I'm looking into right now is homeschooling. Um, because eventually I want to be traveling more and I want to global school my children. So this is something that I'm curious about right now. I've never done this so I don't know what I don't know, right? So what am I doing? I'm doing research. I'm talking to people I'm educating myself and maybe a year from now or two years from now I'm gonna be like, oh my gosh like that used to feel really hard for me now. It's so easy. I get it This is the capacity of the mind the the capacity of chronically expanding yourself, chronically learning and growing and shaping your environment.
Starting point is 00:08:13 So the point of, again, I'm always saying the point, the point, the point, but the old me was in survival mode. This is when there was never enough food. I never had enough time. Um, you know, there was so much work to do. I felt like all I had to do is clean the house all day and cook and clean. And the kids never listened and my husband did this and I just had long to do lists with business and blah, blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:08:39 And, oh, my health, I didn't have time for that. And then the new state of where I'm at now is I feel like I'm in a thrival state or contentment for most, most areas of my life. Of course I have challenges. Of course I have struggles. I'm chronically up leveling in my life, but I'm a very different person that I used to be five years ago and, and 10 years ago. So here's the weird thing. I'm now in a place where
Starting point is 00:09:08 I've, I've experienced something that my mother did not experience and my grandmother did not experience and my grandma, my grandma's grandma, my grandma's grandma, grandma, like the lineage of women that I come from traditionally, um, have not experienced the state of being that I am in now. So I know that I've break in some generational patterns, which is great because I'm going to pass that down to my children. Now here's the thing, jumping from one to the other is fucking terrifying because there's that saying be careful what you wish for because you might actually get it.
Starting point is 00:09:49 So when you consciously, intentionally create a life that you want, when you consciously and intentionally make shit happen, what's happening is you're evolving and shifting all parts of you to become a new person and that's scary. It's like a hermit crab leaving its shell, leaving one little shell and going to the other shell and in between that is their most vulnerable state. In between that is when prey can get them, right? Because they don't have their hard shell. So this is why your relationship with vulnerability matters. Your relationship with your discomfort matters.
Starting point is 00:10:39 Your relationship with fear, your relationship with risk, your relationship with uncertainty really matters. Because I'm speaking to, well you've heard it yesterday, the interview with Diane, I had it yesterday on the podcast, and she was saying I used to identify as a non risk taker and now I guess I take risks, right? Because she's worked with me and I've chronically said to her, hey, why don't you do this? Hey, why don't you do that? She's like, I'm just chronically taking these risks. And I've heard this from other people saying they're risk adverse.
Starting point is 00:11:16 They don't like to take risks. And it's not that you don't like to take risks, it's that you're just terrified of the unknown. Fear of the unknown, fear of success, fear of failure. So here's the thing. If you want to move from a chronic state of survival mode in your life, in any area of your life, that can be money, that can be a relationship, it could be parenting, it could be your health, some type of energy. If you want to move from that state of just getting by to becoming this other version of you where you're like, Oh my gosh, it is so magical
Starting point is 00:11:53 over here. I never thought any of this was possible. In the middle lies uncertainty, vulnerability. You are that hermit crab going from one shell to the other and in the middle is where you will feel naked and afraid just like that TV show.
