Starting point is 00:00:00 Gonna be honest with you, I'm a little bit worried talking about this topic because I'm going to lose some subscribers. People are going to be triggered with what I'm about to say, but I've got to talk about it. I don't even know where to start. Girls, you've had it tough in this world and this man's world. We live in. No, okay, it's not a man's world. It's a joke. See, it's awkward.
Starting point is 00:00:20 Okay, what happens? What happens? We have an RCMP female police officer. She put in a harassment complaint against another RCMP officer, a man. against him. Every year, members in the RCMP have to qualify on their firearms. It's called mandatory firearm training or qualifications. She claims that she was harassed by the line officer, by the instructor.
Starting point is 00:00:52 And I read the article and I'm like, whoa. And the only reason I'm talking about this is because she's talking about it. She's posted this on a lot of websites, RCMP, G, RCC. see, da-da-da-da-da-da for a reaction, I guess. I don't know. I don't know why. But the whole world knows about her. I think she went to the news.
Starting point is 00:01:10 There's a news clip that we're going to watch. She's suing him, personally suing this other police officer for the words that he said. And I'm kind of worried that she's going to sue me. Just my opinion, guys. I'm just going to provide my opinion. I don't want to hurt anybody. I hate talking about RCMP officers because I still feel a connection to them. maybe she's got it really tough okay but we heard her side but we didn't hear his side and when
Starting point is 00:01:42 I read the article I'm I'm thinking if this happened to me part of it looked like a misunderstanding to me man we can't say anything anymore you don't even we can't even talk to girls we can't even it's scary it's scary this police officer this male police of the whole world know everybody thinks he's in a harassing sicko now you got it you got to hear what the what the what he said though that was so terrible that was so well how did he harass her let's watch the video I'm all over the place for the past eight years Nicole Patapoff has been an RCMP constable. Now she is challenging the Mounties in federal court, claiming she was harassed and the case mishandled by the RCMP's Independent Center for Harassment Resolution, an agency
Starting point is 00:02:50 that is supposed to promote positive change, especially for female members. I guess this was an attempt to take the investigation out of the hands of the RCMP, but as we see from this complaint, little has changed. In a court filing, Constable Patapov references her annual firearms qualification training. During it, she says her line officer told her to go home, get a bottle of windex, and get into her kitchen and bathroom and just start cleaning to strengthen her trigger finger. Guys, I'm going to tell you something right now. In Depot, it seemed like all the firearm instructors were rough and gruff and all they did was joke. Okay. They were different. kind of breed. I do firearms training. I'm a 250 shot, okay? I'm a perfect shot. And the reason is
Starting point is 00:03:47 I got a slow trigger finger. That's the trick when you fire that pistol. It's so slow. After the first stage, my trigger finger is exhausted. Sometimes, it's so exhausted, sometimes I have to shoot with both fingers, the final two shots. What's my point? We always talk about how you can strengthen your finger. There's exercises. You could do push-ups with your fingers. Okay? You could squeeze a ball. This is the finger. This is the finger that you need to be strong. So that's what he said. Go home, grab some wind decks and strengthen that finger trigger. Okay. After she says the officer followed her outside commenting, I didn't even recognize you. Wow. And I love your hair.
Starting point is 00:04:42 Okay. I guess that's harassing, right? Let's just finish it. Patapov's complaint to the RCMP's Independent Center for Harassment Resolution wasn't investigated for 10 months. They deemed it wasn't harassment, just a poor choice of words, and no harm was intended. So this was a decision that was made by a federally appointed harassment investigator. And so the recourse in this situation is to seek judicial review. of the investigator's decision. The Independent Center for Harassment Resolution was established after class action harassment case against the RCMP
Starting point is 00:05:23 led to a $125 million settlement involved more than 2,300 female officers. I stand humbly before you today and solemnly offer our sincere apology. It's another center that says they're going to oversee. She's pretty. These harassment and bullying cases but and that it's independent, but it's not in... See, am I allowed to say that?
Starting point is 00:05:50 Sorry, Lisa, I just thought you were pretty. Don't come after me. I once pulled over a girl in Duncan, and she was crying. And I said, are you okay? What's wrong? And she said, that's not of your damn business. I offended her.
Starting point is 00:06:09 It actually scared me. I never stopped thinking about, That's always, that all, that pops in my head every now and then. Sorry for asking. Our sincere apology. It's another center that says they're going to oversee these harassment and bullying cases, but, and that it's independent, but it's not independent. Constable Patapov's lawyer is seeking to have the harassment investigation overturned.
Starting point is 00:06:37 She's had to take matters into her own hands, retain legal counsel to take on this fight. Good Lord. And it's unfortunate because this problem has been well known to the federal government for over 30 years. Global News requested comment from the RCMP, but has yet to receive a response. They're right there. Just ask her. There she is. Whoever that is. Catherine Urquart. Yeah, sure. Whatever. Okay. I don't even know what to say.
Starting point is 00:07:07 So what happens is this female police officer? She refused to practice firing her gun. without ammo before a test dry firing to conserve stamina, I guess. Okay. And they talk about, she talks about the strength of the finger trigger with this police officer. But because he said, you should get a bottle of Windex and get into the kitchen and bathroom and start cleaning to strengthen her finger trigger. That comment?
Starting point is 00:07:38 That comment, according to the lawyer and her, it's misogynistic. belittling, offensive, disrespectful, demeaning, and unnecessary. We can't say a word anymore. I once told a girl, another female cop, nice leg raises. Hit the fan when I said that, okay? Bad things happened to me. I'm friends with a female police officer, and she told me about this, and she, she understands my point, but she totally disagrees with me.
Starting point is 00:08:22 We had a good conversation. I disagree with her. she disagrees with me. I'm honestly trying to figure out what is wrong with that statement. Going to the bathroom with a bottle of windex and start cleaning. But I guess other people are thinking, you're just saying that because I'm a woman. But I could see this police officer saying that to guys too.
Starting point is 00:08:47 I'm sorry you took it that way. That's what I would be thinking. I don't clean the bathroom because it's women's work. I'm joking. I'm joking, but hold on. Am I, though? Am I joking? Let's dissect this part of it.
Starting point is 00:09:03 I told my woman to get outside one day and start chopping up some wood. Do some stacking. Okay. And you know what she said to me? That's a man's job. And you know what? That's exactly what it is. She's not out there fixing the hot tub,
Starting point is 00:09:21 putting brakes on the vehicles, cutting the grass, chopping stacking wood. She's not doing that. Because it's a man's job. I don't want her doing it. She can't do it. She doesn't have a bucket full of tools.
Starting point is 00:09:36 The only time she's ever touched a socket was with her passing it to me. That's just a known fact, okay? Some things are woman jobs. Some things are guy jobs. I don't clean the toilet. It's not my job. I got outside duties to do. We own two places, two hot tubs.
Starting point is 00:09:58 Two boats. She's not changing the oil on the boat. So right away, are we going to just sit here and lie? I mean, I'm not saying this police officer is even saying that. Oh, you're a girl, so you got to go clean the bathroom. That's a woman's job. I'm not even saying, I don't even think he meant that. But what if he did?
Starting point is 00:10:23 Ooh, big deal. Losen up a little. Stop saying women can do what boys can do. It's not true. They can't. If that was the case, women, you wouldn't be paying another man $1,000 to do the brakes on your car. You could switch out brake paths for $50, but you're spending $1,000 because you can't do it. Oh, oh, am I not stating facts here?
Starting point is 00:10:53 And if we are going to state facts, guess what does strengthen your finger trigger? Using a squirt gun. Of course it would. Was he wrong? Did he lie? Are we not allowed a joke? I'm going to read you a bit of the, straight from the RCMP, the definition of harassment, okay? Any action, conduct, or comment, including of sexual nature that can reasonably be expected to cause offense, humiliation, or other physical or psychological injury or illness to an employee, including any prescribed action, conduct, or comment.
Starting point is 00:11:37 Now, you take that definition, and that fits right, doesn't it? She was offended. His comment offended her. So that must meet the standard of harassment. But there's a big word in that definition. Any comment that can reasonably be expected to cause offense. And I'm a reasonable person. And I think it's unreasonable.
Starting point is 00:12:08 That that would offend somebody to the point where we got to string up this police officer, this male police officer. We got to ruin his career. Weirdly, is that what we're going to do over one comment about Windex? That's not reasonable to me. I'm sorry she felt offended by it. But I just don't buy, I don't buy the fact that this is such a terrible thing. We, everybody knows his name now.
Starting point is 00:12:40 Could you imagine walking around? Over, over, like, why? What happened to courage good fiction? Tell him to F off. It's over and done. Why do we always have to go to such great lengths? Once had a female cop said, Oh, Clint, I had a dream about you last night.
Starting point is 00:12:58 Oh, boy, oh boy. Don't get too close to me. You're going to turn me on. Not even making it up. I guess you got to know your audience, right? and he obviously didn't know his audience. I didn't care at all. And I want you to hear this part too, guys.
Starting point is 00:13:18 There's two parts of this harassment claim. ...and bathroom and just start cleaning to strengthen her trigger finger. After, she says, the officer followed her outside commenting, I didn't even recognize you. Wow. And I love your hair. So? We can't talk about women's hair now? He followed you out there. He's out stalking and following you?
Starting point is 00:13:46 I don't know. It just doesn't make any sense to me. You know why I think he said that? I think he knew that he peoed her right off. And he was a little bit worried. And at the end of it, first of all, she had her hair all tied up and she had these on and goggles. He comes outside. He sees her.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Oh, I didn't even recognize you. Because her hair's down now. Wow, I love your hair. Because he's probably a little worried about his Windex comment from her reaction. But no, I guess this is part of the harassment because he follows her out there? You can't say you love a girl's hair? If this police officer was joking around, then that's all it was. A joke.
Starting point is 00:14:40 Who cares? Why would anybody be offended by a joke like that? A joke that actually kind of makes sense. It kind of factual, if you think about it. Honestly, I think it takes away from the real complaints of harassment, guys. Yes, there is harassment and bullying in the RCMP. And I'm not talking about bullying where you're in school, okay? And you got a bully.
Starting point is 00:15:08 I'm not talking about that kind of bullying. I mean, if you're going to complain about that, you're a wuss. But it's different when you have a cop that's harassing you and bullying you. And I'm not going to get into that. And I agree that the harassment, the way the RC&P handles this kind of stuff is terrible. I agree. Maybe that's why she's doing it to change things. I didn't do this video to beat up on her.
Starting point is 00:15:34 I'm sorry that she had a terrible time at mandatory firearms qualifications. but I could just put myself into the shoes of that other police officer. Can't we just talk to him? Hey man, maybe I shouldn't say that. He's probably said it a thousand times. That's probably his line. That's what he says. That's his big joke.
Starting point is 00:16:02 And people probably laughed at it. And that's probably why he uses that joke. And no one's ever called him on it. Can't we just call people on things? like we have to go to court over it? Like I don't even understand really. What do you want out of this? I don't get that.
Starting point is 00:16:27 I mean, isn't harassment? Like I know supervisors that, it wasn't even a supervisor. It was just another police officer. But I know that there's police officers out there that harass other police officers. There's a series of it. This is a one-off. kind of dumb joke comment, in my opinion. Wow. You know what, man? This male police officer, he already got his punishment.
Starting point is 00:16:55 He's already been punished. Believe me. Who cares? I love your hair. She's probably got great hair. He's not saying he loves your hoots. It loves your hair, okay? I like what you've done to that face and that body. I guess, you know, you can't even say that. You're doing a good job on your feet. face in your body. No, you can't say that. You can't say anything anymore. You can't say anything anymore. It's scary. It's a little, it got scary towards the end of my career with the females.
Starting point is 00:17:38 And I got that humor, right, that always got me in trouble. Like, I remember telling a male cop, I'm like, man, you're so gay, you don't even know it. Because he always laughs at me. And he didn't laugh that day. You got to watch what you say, I guess. We're offending everybody. We're woke. We're woke. And again, to this Nicole girl. I'm sorry that you had a terrible experience.
Starting point is 00:18:04 I didn't want to do the video, really, because I don't want you to feel bad. Isn't that weird? But you brought it up. So I did too. Let's just stop there. Thanks for watching. Bye. I mean
