Starting point is 00:00:00 You got a shot. That's all you got to do. No. Wow. Okay. I'm new. So they're just up on Capitol Hill. They don't know what the hell they don't. I'm new to. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:09 The problem that I'm having with this conversation right now. Uh-oh. Is that Gavin Newsom is out here in California. Out here in California. Yeah. Pulling off in his own way what I think he wants to. They think that's leadership. Clinton Jaws, where have I been?
Starting point is 00:00:28 You wouldn't believe what happened to me. The most insane thing that I want to share with you guys so badly happened to me, but I don't know what I'm allowed to say. I don't know what I'm allowed to tell. I'm trying to figure that out. I might go live and tell the story. So subscribe. And please like this video.
Starting point is 00:00:47 It's the only thing I care about. Stephen A. Smith is on with Bill Maher. I'm starting to like this guy because I enjoy the way he talks. I look up to people when they're good talkers, when they have common sense. He pretends to be a Democratic. crap but he's actually a conservative let's watch and what happened to me has to do with the cbc and the bbc and the indignuous population did i just say indignuous stephen a right out of the gate impresses bill mar listen this is bill's response doesn't matter what he said that's the second good
Starting point is 00:01:25 presidential speech i've heard to me oh no really i mean it is amazing that when people People actually aren't running for president. They sound so much better than the ones who do. You know, what is that? Well, what that is? You have to not give a shit. Well, ladies first. I know what?
Starting point is 00:01:45 No, candidate's first. You know what? No, he told me he wasn't doing that. If they don't mess with my money, I will be a candidate. I'm going to say that right now. What's going to happen in the midterms? The Democrats are not going to win this election. The Republicans are going to lose it.
Starting point is 00:02:04 There's a difference between not winning and losing. Okay? the Democrats can't not win this because of all this that's going on but that's kind of the Democrats can't not win this not the Democrats not the not the midterms they've invented ways to lose not the midterms pretty good okay not the midterms the Olympics great response common sense that the Olympics have said they are not allowing trans women anymore competing in women's sports makes sense I'm I'm imagine. I imagine
Starting point is 00:02:40 this is going to be an issue in the Democratic primaries. It's another one where you can make Democrats die on the hill that they died on last time. If this is an issue within the Democratic part, that's their own damn problem. Biological men should not be competing
Starting point is 00:02:56 against biological girls in sports. But what about protecting the young ladies? Young ladies going up against men, you know, biological men. They're There is no excuse for that. And by the way, you know what?
Starting point is 00:03:11 You could be, you know, Liam Thomas, for example, was, you know, was a male, and he was ranked like over 400. Yeah, the swimmer. He was ranked like over 400th in the world. She. And then she. And then he became a she. Right. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:23 He became, you know, transitioning. And number one. Well, damn it, does it really take an Einstein to realize that there's something wrong with that picture? I mean, are you kidding, I said? No. But, yeah, we are. Yeah, we are. I'm talking sports.
Starting point is 00:03:35 But this is my lane. And I'm telling you, there is no reason. for a biological male to be competing in women's sports. We certainly don't see biological women transitioning and trying to compete in men's sports. I don't hear about that. But is there, when the Democratic debates come, is there one candidate on that stage who's going to be clear like this, who's going to just say it outright like that?
Starting point is 00:03:59 No. Exactly. How's he feel about the war? But the flip side to it is that you got a lot of damn nerves to be in the face of American people saying for numerous, administrations. Iran is a problem. We have to be dealt with. Iran is a problem. They have to be dealt with. And then this man deals with him. And then all of a sudden you complaining about him now. It doesn't really make sense. He's a lack of precision.
Starting point is 00:04:20 Let's talk about the mayor in New York. Look at what happened in New York City. No disrespect. But do we really, really think that Zoroamam Dani was the most qualified candidate to be mayor of New York City? Come on now. We know better. I'm wishing him well. I'm wishing I'm not being disrespectful. He's smart. He's sharp. He's quick on his feet. I'm not disrespect him in any way. But he had never done anything. You got a governor, a former governor who was a three-term governor coasting to his fork before the scandal hit.
Starting point is 00:04:49 You boot him out of office. He's qualified to get your support for three terms in route to four to run the state. But you don't want him running the city. And you're going to hand the reins to a 33-year-old who's... Well, he's also a communist. Keep going. I mean, it's the economy, stupid. I've asked this question so many weeks on this show, and I can never get an answer.
Starting point is 00:05:14 I just don't understand the American economy. I really don't. I don't understand how there could be so much wealth, and I pay so much in taxes. And it doesn't seem to get to the people. Like, I don't even mind doing it. Over half, always, way over half. And yet it just, I never read about the homeless getting better, anything getting better, at least in a city like this. The problem that I'm having with this conversation, right?
Starting point is 00:05:38 right now is that we're accusing the politicians of not knowing they know know thirty nine plus trillion dollars in debt yeah you can't pay tsa workers a billion dollars over the last month but you could spend eight hundred million to two billion a day and somehow somewhere you find that money to finance a war you knew you had the damn money you knew where it was You knew how you wanted to allocate it, and you knew you didn't want it to go to the American people. That ain't ignorance.
Starting point is 00:06:13 That's viciousness. That's cool, too. That's not thinking about the American public. You see, when we sit up here and we talk about aspiring politicians and all of that stuff. Well, you know how you win an election right now? All you got to do is look the people in the face, be straight up with them and let them know. You about them. You got a shot.
Starting point is 00:06:31 That's all you got to do because you look anywhere else. Where's the leadership? Look at the Republican Party right now. It's Trump. You know what I said the other. of the week on my show. I said, y'all do know he's leaving in 2028, right? Unless he circumvents the 22nd Amendment and runs for a third term. He's leaving. Jady Vince, you ain't him. Don't think you are.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Marco Rubio, thank God, he doesn't try to be. The rest of these people fawning over him in such embarrassing fashion, you ain't going to be him. And the Democrats, my God, please find somebody who can leave. Gavin Newsom is out here in California. What he says, what they say about Gavin Newsom right here, guys. You got to hear this. But first, if I was ever on the panel, put one of these in my mouth. If something works and it doesn't interrupt with what I'm doing, then I'm interested. Lucy, my sponsor, amazing, I stockpiled. Lucy breakers are 100% tobacco-free nicotine pouches, and each pouch has a little capsule in it that you can crack open to give
Starting point is 00:07:28 you extra flavor and hydration. Pop one in, break the capsule, and the flavor kicks up. Flavor-wise, I'm mostly interested, a lot of people use mint, but I'm interested in berry-citrus. Barry Citrus. How can you go wrong? I started with the 12mG, and then I went down to the 6. Both are good. I'm sticking with the 6 for now. It's all I need. If I'm sitting at the computer, if I'm doing a podcast, if I'm taking the kids to school, if I got to watch a movie with the woman, I put one in. Guys, you can set up a subscription. They'll deliver it to your door, which eliminates one more errand that you have to do, right? Lucy's the only pouch that gives you long-lasting flavor, when you need it. What am I going to give you? I'm going to give you 20% off. If you buy online,
Starting point is 00:08:13 use the code Clinton. And if you don't want to wait, head to lucy.com slash stores. I got to read this. Lucy products are only for adults of legal age and every order is age verified. Warning, this product contains nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive chemical. He's find somebody who can leave. Gavin Newsom is out here in California. Out here in California. Yeah. Pulling off in his own way, what I think he wants to he's being known more for trolling Trump on his podcast or with other interviews than what he's actually doing in the state of California they think that's leadership because they don't have it they know what they're doing but I
Starting point is 00:08:51 mean you mentioned our governor he used the words culturally what was it culturally normal what's that he said the party needs to get more culturally normal he needs to get more culturally normal What does that mean to you, culturally normal? What do you think he means? What do you, what does it mean? I do not know what he means, but I will tell you, I mean, that, again, I come from Michigan, where, like, the average person just is a very pragmatic, like, put your head down,
Starting point is 00:09:25 right. And wants shit to work. Right. That is it. And so I will be honest, we made hats at the end of my last campaign. They just said, team normal. I don't give a shit if you're a Republican or Democrat and independent. just like live in the zone of practicality.
Starting point is 00:09:40 And the far right and the far left live in a different universe. And it does not represent that middle. And so to me, I don't know what he meant. But I think the average person understands that like sometimes you just take the simple way out and everyone can agree. I leave you with a great comeback. We have a lot of people who are on the, we're on campaigns who are just thinking, you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to try to emulate Stephen A. Smith. They can't.
Starting point is 00:10:10 They can't. But they're going to say, I'm going to try. I'm going to try. I'm going to say, I'm going to do his advice. I'm going to look at a camera, and I'm going to tell you that I'm for you. But in reality, they are provocateurs who are for themselves. And we have to be more discerning as voting people to know the difference. Here's the deal.
Starting point is 00:10:28 The problem with that is that if you, I'm not saying to be cruel with no purpose. trying to say just to be a provocateur but if you need 435 representatives the majority of them to see your way of thinking the majority of 100 senators to see your way of thinking guess what sometimes you got to be vicious sometimes you got to go on national something you got to go on a Laura coach show let me tell you what this politician did let me tell you how they voted let me tell you what they were thinking with what you're talking about as opposed I'm assuming they do that's the wrong I'm saying the politicians that's actually voting on
Starting point is 00:11:03 something I'm assuming they know what they're voting That's a bad assumption sometimes. No. No, right? It always know. That's not true. Man. I think you would know.
Starting point is 00:11:12 I don't know that. And I will say, I mean, I think number one, you are right, that there are a whole group of people on both sides of the aisle who all they think about is how do I get the clicks. That's how they decide their day. Yeah, but you're saying they don't even know what they're voting on? No. Wow. So they just up on Capitol Hill, they don't know what the hell they don't. I'm new to...
Starting point is 00:11:30 Yeah. Again, why are you always so surprised? Why is it shocking here? I'm not to wrap it up, but I just gotta say, I have a lot of people coming on the show because it is that season now where people are starting to, you know, run for president, even though they wouldn't admit it.
Starting point is 00:11:51 And it just seems like you two who aren't running are just getting to me in a much more visceral way, effective way than the ones who are running. So I don't know what the answer to that is, But, you know, think about it.
