My first interaction with a police dog handler, K-9 Unit, did not like my approach to the scene. I Tell the story about RCMP Handler Frank Roberts trying to teach me a lesson. My partner and I attend a B&E in Progress. Apparently I should have set up containment and not atten56.2 grams of marijuana was reportedly found underneath the driver’s seat.ded the scene. He was not happy with me. I also share a video that occurred in Racine County. On Aug. 13, 2018, Deputy Edward Drewitz was patrolling the City of Racine with his service dog named “Friday”. Drewitz conducted a traffic stop at 10:45 a.m. for an equipment violation at the corner of Main and Second streets. Bad Guy flees and gets bit by the dog. Drewitz is being sued for excessive force. Clinton Jaws, I got my yellow paper, and it's nighttime. I'm having a cockney. This is something I just thought was kind of entertaining. I watched it, and I have never done a, I don't think I've ever done a canine unit. I never talk about police dogs, only when they die. And let me tell you guys something, okay? You have pepper spray, which is killer, okay? You got pepper spray, you got a gun, you got a baton, you got rubber bullets. You got a taser. But the biggest bitch of them all is police dog. Now that's the weapon. That is a weapon.

That's a weapon that I wanted. Before I became a police officer, I wanted to become a dog handler. I was going to become a cop and I was going to become a dog handler. Then I found out that you're not really friends with, yeah, you have a relationship with the dog, of course, but I'm not going to be kissing them on the lips and cuddling them in bed. I found out. I would have to discipline the dog harshly.

and I just couldn't do that, so I didn't become a dog. Dog handlers, guys. One of the most craziest police officers I have ever worked with are dog handlers. Bad shit crazy. But happy. They're always happy. And I don't know why they're so happy and crazy. Maybe they're crazy and loose because they're so happy.

So there's some advice. If you want to be a happy police, I shouldn't say all of them are happy. Not all of them are happy, but it seemed like a lot of them were happy. And I don't know, not a bad thing to get into. And I'm going to show you a video of a canine unit and how awesome, how awesome they, how effective a police dog is. There's nothing better. there's nothing better than seeing a bad guy

get hit by a police dog I've worked I've always called the police dog it seems like once a shift I was calling a police dog especially when I worked a mission and I would ask the Abbotsford police dog to come down and give us a hand it seemed like that was nightly in Duncan we were always calling the police

that we called Frank Roberts all the time and yeah you know what Frank was a good guy like Frank I enjoyed Frank we didn't always We see eye to eye, we argued a few times. I mean, he was crazy. But he was happy. He smiled when he talked a lot.

And I don't know about that part, but I didn't mind Frank. I liked Frank. He was a good guy. And I remember him coming to, oh, my God. I remember him coming to. He's in Duncan. He's traveling around. He's doing some patrols.

He's listening to the radio. And me and Darren Lange and we get a call at some restaurant, okay? B&E in progress at a restaurant. It's closed. and me and Darren are Tim Horton's were nine seconds away from this place Darren burns out of the parking lot I fall right behind him

I'm like I might have two years experience maybe one and boom we are at the restaurant in seconds Frank Robert shows up he ain't happy with us okay bad guy's GOA we're not getting him and Frank pulls me aside and he's like

Can you tell me why you went to the scene? Is there a reason why you would go to the scene with Darren? Why would there be two people at the scene? Can you tell me that? Why wouldn't you let Darren go to the scene? And then you set up some sort of containment. So you give me a fighting chance to get the bad guy. I'm like, okay, okay, Frank?

Jesus Christ. Him and his containment was always, Always about containment. Maybe I learned something, I don't know. But he pissed me off every now and then. One at the scene, okay? The rest set up containment. Okay, we got it. Box them in.

No point going to the scene. Anyways, I don't know why I told you that story, and I'm going to show you... I don't know. Just an entertaining video. I got nothing to really say about it, I don't think. I watched it once really quickly. And I think we should watch it again. What do you think?

Where'd this happen? Racine or Racine? Racine County? 2018 August. So what happens is bad guy? Okay, this canine unit, police dog services. They pull over this vehicle. Some weird stuff happens.

Another vehicle shows up with bad guy. He goes into the passenger side of the vehicle, takes out a pizza box. It's like 8 in the morning. and this cop is like, that's weird. So he follows that vehicle, turns on his lights and sirens. That vehicle, bad guy, doesn't stop. A pursuit happens. Still not stop him.

Bad guy hits another vehicle. He bails from his vehicle and he's on the run. And this is where it picks up. Could you imagine getting eaten by a dog? What a dumb ass. Oh, my God. You can't get a little. away from that dog. That's why I love it. I love it. You can't get away from a dog like that.

And the police officer is telling him to put his hands out to his side. Could you imagine a dog eating you and you know you have to put your hands out to the side while it eats you? It's not really a normal reaction right now while and just let the dog eat you. I don't know. asshole for running. I mean, really, what do you expect? What do you expect? You got to expect something bad's going to happen to you. You're a criminal.

You committed a bunch of offenses. Now you're complaining about a dog biting on you. Yep. Frank told me, all the dog handlers told me, it's a reward for the dog to get a bite. It's important for a dog, this is what I'm told, it's important for the dogs to get bites to actually feel flesh instead of the fake training stuff.

So I'm thinking as a dog handler, you know, I'm going to take my time. I've been doing all this training with this dog. The real gift I can give him is somebody's flesh. If I'm a dog handler, that's what I'm thinking. And I bet you this dog handler is thinking that. Yeah, you're not going on your stomach. You're not really listening to me,

even though it's hard to listen during a moment like that, but I told you to go on your stomach. You should have went on your stomach. Well, now you're on your stomach. Now he's going to cuff him. Secure a bad guy first. than take dog off. This is what I like about the weapon of the dog. Okay, if I had my gun out, I would be given, I would be demanded bad guy to go on your stomach with my gun. And if you don't,

well, maybe I take out my taser because you're not listening to me. You're not following my orders. Maybe I taser you. I want you to listen to me. I got all the time in the world now. You're kind of under control. You're handcuffed. Just lay on your stomach. That's all I want you to do. And I'm going to control you with my verbal commands and I'm going to control you with some of the weapons I have. Weapon being dog. Okay, so that's why the cop's getting sued. There's a lawsuit. I'll just watch the video. You know, I'm just going to be honest with I don't have a problem with the cop doing that. I know. He let the dog go again. It did another bite. You don't know what the cop sees. This little video doesn't show the whole thing. There's a reason why the cop did what he did and I'm sure he's

going to articulate it. I don't know. I'm just sick and tired of sticking up for the people sticking up for the bad guy. I'm sick and tired of people committing crime, bad crime, then complaining later after they get caught and getting lawyers and suing and watching police officers lose their job. I'm sick and tired of seeing it. So it's hard for me to sit here and feel for the bad guy. You see, he's still not on his stomach. Why? I would be thinking, why aren't you? listening to me? I would be thinking, do you have a weapon? Are you trying to get at something? I don't give a rat's ass if you're still, if you're handcuffed. Are you trying to get at something? Why are you listening to me? Oh, this guy's going to come over and help. Okay, I'm sorry I'm

interrupting because it drives people crazy. The name of the dog is Friday. Okay, I got a dog and his name is Friday. So I think that's pretty cool. Come on Friday. Yeah, that's right. Can't listen.
