It's Clinton Jaws. Let's watch a video and yes, I'm going to interrupt.
Wait for my car.
Melissa, go ahead and Jim.
Melissa. Melissa, what are you going on today?
The date is March 12th, 2021.
Metro Nashville police attend because they get a 911 call from the mom.
The mom says, my daughter's going to kill herself.
Melissa wants to die.
She wants police to kill her.
That is why she has a baseball bat and a pickax.
Three cops attend. The lead investigator, the guy you're going to see, from his point of view, is Ben Williams.
What's the deal?
Look, I don't, I'm not talking to anybody. Y'all, I mean, you're fucking cheap.
Okay.
Right now.
I understand. I hear what you're saying, but what happened? Would you take something today?
Can you be honest with me?
Do you take something?
I didn't.
Okay. You're sober?
Well, I drink alcohol, but that's it.
Okay. That's it.
Go ahead and kill me.
Nobody's going to kill you, Melissa.
Step away from my car.
Huh.
You all be trying to get her away from my phone.
This is going to be hands off.
Nobody is going to kill you.
No one is going to harm you.
You know how this ends?
We're not doing this.
Look at me in my eyes and know that I'm telling you the truth.
None of us are going to hurt you.
Okay?
None of us are going to kill you.
Okay, right now, I'm going to tell you right now, Melissa's triggered.
She's triggered from something.
She's probably not, she probably hasn't taken her medication.
That's usually what it is, right?
She needs some medication.
She needs to be taken into custody.
She needs to be taken to a hospital.
The police officer's doing a good job.
He doesn't, he's de-escalating it.
He doesn't want to trigger Melissa.
That's the last thing you want to do is trigger Melissa.
Okay.
And your husband is done.
So go ahead.
No, no, Sue, that's not, that's, that's, that you're putting that.
So simply, like that's how it works.
No, that's not how it works.
This is complicated, okay?
There's no reason for me to pull my weapon on you, okay?
Because right now, there's distance between us.
I can, we can figure something else out, okay?
At the end of the day, we just want to get you some help.
I don't mind what the cops do in here.
He's saying he has time and distance, and he's not going to pull out a weapon.
That's not bad.
That's not a bad thing to do.
I wouldn't do it, but I like what he's doing.
He's an experienced cop, you can tell.
And he's doing everything in his power not to trigger her.
That's de-escalation.
Have you done this before?
This kind of thing before?
Not gonna kill it.
Nobody, like I said, nobody's gonna kill you, all right?
Nobody's gonna, nothing like that's gonna happen, all right?
Put one down for me.
I'm not putting anything down until your-jop-jump-ne.
Nobody's gonna jump you.
Keep your distance, please.
Keep your distance.
Here comes the trigger.
Stop, stop, stop right there.
Oh hi you must be the mom. I'm only laughing because I know how this gut feels. I'm just curious does your daughter suffer from mental illness?
She's really ill. No, is she? I would have never thought that. Thank God you're here. We could use your de-escalation skills.
Okay. That's what she wants to... They are not gonna shoot you put that... I'm gonna beat you up.
That's what she needs to hear. You know what Melissa I'm gonna kick your ass. Now Melissa really
wants to die, doesn't she? Way to go, Mom. I'm gonna beat you up a little bit.
Please, don't, don't get too close to it because then that's, it's my, I understand that,
but it's my responsibility if something happens to you.
Melissa Lynn, put that stuff down now.
I will fucking kill my, put it down.
Why don't you walk over here with us?
I was, oh my God.
Oh, my God.
Oh, she takes, she gets done.
Mom, we don't know why we're here.
Can you tell us why we're here?
She's trying to get cops to kill her right now.
Oh.
Okay.
Now I get it.
Okay.
Did she take anything?
Yeah, she's taking a bunch of a bit of a shit, but she's still crazy.
Okay.
Oh, Jesus.
I just got her out of the hospital.
Really?
Can you tell me your life story right now?
Please, right now.
I want to hear about your life story and all your disabilities.
Melissa, will you hold on?
I'm just going to be a second.
I'm going to talk to your mom about her disabilities and her.
We're going to talk about her grandchildren.
Her back pain.
I can't use that
I know mom is here for a good reason
She means well
Okay, I'm not beating up on mom
I'm just picturing myself at this call
And I feel the frustrations
That the cop feels right now
That's all I'm dead
Do you got any goldfish
We're gonna get her help
We're gonna try to do
We're gonna resolve it peacefully
She's a good kid
She just messed up in the head
Sorry mom
But I'll be resting in peace
With Jesus and Christ
Yeah not gonna happen
Again, not gonna happen.
Melissa, put your thing down.
Melissa, listen.
Melissa?
I'm gonna f***ing.
Dispatch any available unit out.
203, please hold the air, so we're gonna stand off of there.
You hear that, you hear that shit right then in there?
The dispatch, do you see what dispatch says?
I'm just gonna start talking right here and now while you're out a high-risk situation.
I don't know why I'm talking like that.
It just kind of feels good to talk.
like that I wish I talked like that. Dispatch knows what called her at. Dispatch knows there's a girl that wants to kill herself by police. And what are they gonna do? I need a member for a graffiti in progress. I need a member for an erratic drive. Any members available for a noise complaint?
Dispatch any available unit out of this.
20K, please hold the air so we're gonna stand off with her.
10 4. And I have turned all this, you guys can see you're about cops and I'm not done with me.
Oh, whoa, whoa, wait, ma'am, back away from her.
Doesn't she remind you of somebody?
Excuse me, little lady?
Do you have a change of a dollar?
Back away from her.
Back away from her.
Mom is escalating the situation.
She's triggering.
Now the police officer has to cut his time and distance.
He has to get closer to the subject.
He no longer has time and distance.
He has to focus on saving mom.
He's concerned about mom.
He's concerned about bad girl.
He's concerned about dispatch.
This is what's going through his head.
Time and distance is no longer.
I'm going to check the key out of this thing, okay?
Did you hear that again?
Somebody's on the radio talking to the cop.
I couldn't stand that as a police officer.
Supervisors wanting updates constantly.
Corporal Jaws, can you give me an update?
Why?
Let me fight the fight.
If you want an update, get your ass off the seat out of the office
and come on down here.
Take a look at what's going on.
I need an update, Corporal Jaws.
Who do you need it for?
Yourself?
That's who you need it for because you want to...
Because they want to make sure they're heard on the radio during a high-risk situation.
It makes it look like they're doing something.
Where were you, Paddock, when this was going on...
What do you mean?
I was engaged.
I was monitoring.
Did you not hear me on the radio?
Frick.
I remember going to calls and I had to give an update every minute.
You're going back to the high school.
You're going on.
back to the hospital that's what she wants to hear. I'm thinking if I'm mentally ill and I hear I'm
going back to the hospital, damn right, it's about to kill myself.
Just stay away from the street. I'm backing up.
Taser, taser, taser, taser.
Cres. Come, get...
Christ.
I know he's fired. I have two shots fired.
What? Roll liver.
I know you didn't. You still.
Now he's got no choice but to do something and he tries to taser her and it was a shitty taser shot.
He just kind of hoped.
Terrible angle.
There's no target.
The chances of the taser prongs going in are nil.
You need a big back.
I need a chest.
But the only thing shown is a bony shoulder.
Good news is she doesn't die.
Non-lethal shots.
It could have been a lot scarier.
If bad girl came towards the cop quickly, it could have been really bad.
If she came fast and furious towards the cop, those other cops, his partners, would have been shooting towards Williams.
and the mom.
The police officers did awesome
because everybody lived.
Why don't you subscribe to my channel?
Okay, I'm getting tired of talking to myself.
Subscribe.
Thanks for watching.
Bye-bye.
Where's the booze?
I got robbed by a sweet old lady on a motorized cart.
I didn't even see it.
Come!
Oh!
