Former police officer, Clinton Jaws, breaks down police video shooting from December 11, 2020 in Oklahoma; 2100 block of West Hefner rd near Pennsylvania. Bennie Edwards was fatally shot by Oklahoma P...olice Officers. Was the shooting justified? or unjustified? Did the officer believe the suspect was running away from police or towards police. This shooting led to a manslaughter charge against Oklahoma City police Sgt. Clifford Holman. If convicted, Holman, faces four years to life in prison. Officers were called to a business last December near Pennsylvania Avenue and Hefner Road on reports of Edwards bothering customers. Edwards was armed with a knife. Videos shows shots being fired as he ran at the officer, and also as his back was turned running away from officers. Police said they tried to use both pepper spay and a taser before opening fire. Starting point is 00:00:04 Happy March, everybody. It's Clinton Jaws. That's who I am. Former cop used to be a cop. I'm not a cop anymore. I retired from the force from the RCMP. And now I'm doing this. I'm not going to break down a police video here. This police video I don't want to do. I don't really want to do it. It doesn't make me feel good. It makes me sad for two reasons. One, bad guy dies. Two, police officer gets charged with manslaughter over this one. He can, he's facing life in prison. Bad guy isn't really a bad guy. He's a fellow suffering from men. He's a man. He's a fellow suffering from men's. He's mental health, and the system has failed him. So what happens when the system fails you? You live on the street. And your mind deteriorates even more. They get a call. His name is Benny Edwards. They get a call from Benny Edwards. He's harassing customers or he's doing something outside of a store. They don't like what he's doing. So when the first police officer attends, Benny comes at him with a knife. That police officer doesn't shoot. There's a second police officer that shows up. That police officer ends up using his pepper spray. The third police officer is a fella that is facing the manslaughter charge.
Starting point is 00:01:07 I bet you he wishes he never showed up for this one. When I watch these videos, guys, I think to myself, I just want one question answered. Is it justified? Is the shooting justified? It took place in Pennsylvania, December 11th, 2020, and I can't say Pennsylvania. Let's watch. He's a Nike deal with a lid. 94 after you got a unit with the taser can come.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Benny Edwards could have been shot right there. About three or four different times. He's holding a knife and he's coming at that police officer. police officer would have been fully justified to shoot them right then and there. And it's crazy to think this way, but if they would have shot sooner, would have made it more justified. First police officer, he waits for backup. They tell Benny Edwards 17,000 times to drop the knife.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Hey, drop the knife, dude. Drop the knife, dude. Hey, don't come near me. Drop the knife. Drop the knife. Not good, not good. Drop the knife. Drop the knife.
Starting point is 00:02:38 Drop the knife! The third police officer dazers him. Of course it doesn't work. Benny's wearing a ski jacket. And the second officer, pepper sprays him. Let me tell you something about pepper spray. People do not like pepper spray. So Benny starts running towards the cop with a gun out with the knife in his hand.
Starting point is 00:02:54 Not good. Drop the knife. Drop the knife. Drop the knife. It looks like the first police officer was the one that took him out. But it actually wasn't according to the coroner. That's not what killed him. Even though some of his shots must have hit him.
Starting point is 00:03:14 him. Must have. He shot while he was coming towards him, shot at him while he was running away from him. And if you look closely, if you want to rewind it, you'll see a lot of those shots actually miss and they hit the pavement. This is where they had a problem. This angle of the camera. Actually, you know what? Everybody has a problem with this. I haven't really seen anybody back in this police officer that's facing manslaughter at all. You go online thinking is you shot a man that was running away. And for them, that means it's an unjustified shooting. Let's watch a video from the third officer's perspective after the two taser fails. Hey, don't come near me. Three, you're getting tased.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Not good, not good. Drop the knife. Drop the knife. Drop the knife. Justified, I don't know. I haven't heard from the police officer. I would have to hear his thoughts, his feelings. Did he fear death or grievous bodily harm?
Starting point is 00:04:12 Did he fear that? If he did, why did he fear that? It's possible that this is the reason why? why he might have feared this. See the police officer on the left by his vehicle there? It's plausible that the cop who ended up killing him was thinking that Benny was headed straight for him. And you can hear the police officer yell, shoot him.
Starting point is 00:04:30 It's possible that that's what he was thinking. Now, when you make up your mind to shoot somebody, you can't be expected to shut your mind off instantly. I want to show you where the first shot was taken. That's the first shot, two more follow quickly right after. I don't know if I'm facing a manslaughter charge, My fear for death or grievous barley harm is for the police officer that's next to his patrol vehicle that Benny potentially might be running towards.
Starting point is 00:04:56 But nobody's talking like that. Nobody's even thinking it. Maybe I'm way off. I don't know. But I don't like the video. I don't like to see somebody's two lives destroyed. I don't like that. And for what?
Starting point is 00:05:07 You know what I mean? Society hasn't helped out this guy suffering from mental health. But that can't be the cop's problem. He's reacting to his behavior. It's not the cops. problem that they told him to drop the knife 17,000 times and he chose not to. And to be honest, I have no idea how they decided who killed who. How, how, why was it that police officer? Why was his shots lethal? And the other police officer, did he, did all his shots miss him? Anyways,
Starting point is 00:05:32 it didn't make me feel good this video. So I'm going to go have a beer. Subscribe to my channel. Really? Please. Thank you. Can you? Makes me feel good when I see somebody subscribe. Have a good night. Bye bye.
