Clinton Jaws - Police Use of Force Gone Wrong
Episode Date: August 20, 2020Former police officer breaks down video. Bad Guy Lives. Police use of force gone wrong. The NYPD released body camera footage of two New York City police officers shooting a knife-wielding man in the... East Village on June 4. Police Officer Jillian Suarez and Police Officer Bryan Rozanski, both assigned to patrol in uniform in the 9th Precinct, fired a total of two shots from their service firearms during a confrontation with a subject, later identified as Peyman Bahadoran, a 55-year-old male. The incident began at 6:38 a.m. when Police Officer Suarez and her partner, Police Officer Melissa Brown, entered the deli. Bahadoran began yelling at Officer Brown as he entered the location behind her. He pulled a twelve-inch "Defender Xtreme" knife from a sheath that was attached to the right side of his leg and menaced her with the knife. Police Officer Brown discharged her conducted electrical weapon or "Taser" at Bahadoran. The Taser probes did not make contact with the subject, rendering it ineffective. Police Officer Brown went behind the counter while Police Officer Suarez moved outside of the deli and requested additional police assistance over her portable radio. Bahadoran directed his attention towards a deli employee and demanded a pack of cigarettes. When he placed the knife on the counter to pick up the cigarettes, the deli employee grabbed the knife and handed it to Officer Brown. Bahadoran confronted Police Officer Suarez, who was pointing her service firearm at him, at the entrance to the deli. Bahadoran shoved Officer Suarez back as he exited the deli. Police Officer Rozanski arrived, along with Police Officer Michael Murphy and Lieutenant Luis Machado, in response to the call for assistance. The officers commanded Bahadoran to comply, but he reached toward the sheath and then lunged at Lieutenant Machado. Officers Rozanski and Suarez each fired one shot from their service firearms at Bahadoran. Bahadoran suffered a gunshot wound to his left arm and a gunshot wound to the lower back. Police officers on the scene called for medical assistance and applied a tourniquet to his left arm. Bahadoran was transported to Bellevue Hospital, where he was admitted and treated for his injuries. Police Officers Suarez and Murphy were equipped with body-worn cameras that were activated for this incident. Lieutenant Luis Machado and Police Officers Brown and Rozanski were not equipped with body-worn cameras on this date. Bahadoran was charged with Robbery 1st Degree, Menacing a Police Officer, Menacing 2nd Degree, and Menacing 3rd Degree. #policebreakdown #policepodcast https://www.clintonjaws.com/

Hey guys, Clint here. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning. I know I look rough. I just woke up. I'm having
some coffee. I'm going to show you this video. This video I watched and I thought, I'm not going to post this. It's just way too boring.
And then I accidentally watched it again and I couldn't believe what I had missed.
Happens June 4th, 2020, 6.30 in the morning. Have you noticed how many, how much shit is going down at 6.30 in the morning? People are, people are, people are, people are,
flipping out. Another case of somebody flipping out. Happens at a deli. If you could believe that,
a deli. Instead of a dairy, a dairy store, now it's a deli, deli store. Weird guy goes into the
deli store and confronts two police officers. Take a look at the video. It's short. I'm going to
break it down when we come back. Okay, so, bad guy confronts two female police officers. Their
names are Melissa and Jillian. I'm sure you can guess which one Melissa is.
Bad guy. Bad guy goes into the store, follows the two police officers in the store and confronts him with a, I'm going to get you. Take a look. He waves a knife at Melissa, and Jill's like, I'm getting the hell out of here. He's got a knife.
So Jill tries to take off, opens up the door. She's leaving. Melissa runs for her life while she grabs her taser.
She shoots the taser at bad guy. Doesn't work.
Taser fails, but there's Jill. Do you see what Jill's about to do, right?
She's going for her gun, right? That's what she's going to do. She's going to shoot.
She's going to shoot bad guy because he needs to be shot. Look at the video.
You can see him.
Runs away. Yeah. Okay, right here. Shoot. Shoot him, shoot him, shoot him, shoot him.
She's going for her gun. It's just taking her a little while to get her gun, right? That's what she's doing.
Let's look at the next clip.
So instead of going for her gun like she should have and shot bad guy, because she
fear death and grievous bodily harm. What does she do? She goes for her radio. Not only goes for her
radio during an extreme dangerous situation. She wants to talk on her radio. She goes outside to do it.
Tells her partner, oh, Melissa, you got him. I'm just going to go outside and see if we can get
some more cops down here. So Jill pisses off. Bad guy confronts the clerk. Oh, Melissa has her gun out.
Now she's going to shoot him, shoot him, shoot him, shoot him, shoot him, shoot him, right?
No, not yet.
Not yet.
Look at the clerk.
What does the clerk do?
I got your knife.
I got your knife.
The clerk saves the day.
The clerk saved lives, probably.
There's two police officers, heavily armed, and the clerk gets the knife away from the bad guy.
I'm telling you right now, Melissa and Jill do not want this video out, but too late, it's out.
Let's keep it going.
By the way, where's Jill?
Jill's still outside.
Okay, now he's on...
Oh, Jill came back.
Thank you, Jill.
Okay.
Now he's unarmed.
They don't know what to do.
And he goes after Jill.
He goes after Jill.
What does Melissa do?
It almost appears like she's flirting with the clerk.
And they're talking about it.
Bad guy's about to kill Jill.
And Melissa's just leaning over,
taking a look at the scene,
seeing what's going on.
Melissa stays there, by the way,
chatting with the store clerk.
She stays there.
Watch the next clip.
Bad guy has no weapon, just the sheath.
And now, oh my God.
Now Jill decides to shoot him.
Well, I'm glad you.
I don't know.
I don't even know what to say.
I honestly don't even.
There's so much to say that I can't even get the words out.
She shoots him now when she could have shot him
five times in the store. I don't know. One plus one rule, maybe. He had one knife. Maybe he has another
knife. What can he? What can he say? What can he say? Not everything goes perfectly, right?
Sure was a shit show. That was a shit show of a call. You know they're here, you know,
you know they're going to hear about this for the rest of their careers. This is something.
That's just, just, ugh. Guys, thanks for watching.
took a bit of a break I'm gonna start making some more content here content some more videos
