Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an iHeart Podcast. The Volume. Good morning. Happy Monday. It's 520 in the morning. Feels good to be back in the studio, man. Had a couple days off for the vacation, but we back with y'all to give y'all everything y'all need
Starting point is 00:00:18 in the sports world, especially basketball. I'm your host. My name is DJ Wells. Joined this morning by my two esteemed co-hosts on my left, the B-Day boy, my brother Bishop Hendricks. How you doing this morning, brother? Cooling, bro. I'm revived, baby. Let's work. Let's work. Now, listen, we didn't know what was going to happen, man. The Hendricks experience was last night. We thought my boy was going to use his PTO day.
Starting point is 00:00:37 Nah, hell nah. I got to work still, bro. I got a job to do. You went up last night, though, for sure. For sure. To my right, my brother Tig. How y'all doing this morning, man? I'm chilling, bro. for sure. For sure. To my right, my brother Tig. How y'all doing this morning, man? I'm chilling, bro. You know what it is. Let's get to it. Nasty. I'm vibed out.
Starting point is 00:00:50 This dude is crazy. Lost him still all the way. Listen, man, a lot of sports happened this weekend, but we're going to keep it basketball this morning, man. We had some great matchups yesterday. Number one versus number two in the East took off yesterday. Now I've been mentioning we're crazy in the fourth yesterday as the Cavs took care of the Celtics, 115-111.
Starting point is 00:01:08 Listen, man, that was a great game yesterday, man. Donovan Mitchell showing why he deserves to be in the MVP conversation. Oh, man, he's on a run right now. Their only kryptonite right now is the Hawks, my Hawks. But Donovan Mitchell, man, he playing at an all-time high right now. What he did last night, he kind of showed that he's here. All-NBA All-Star starter for sure. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:01:29 Playing like a first-team All-NBA player. I'm excited to see how far the Cavs can go. For sure, man. Listen, he had 35 yesterday, 20 in the fourth, seven rebounds as well. Darius Garland showed up yesterday. Last time they played the Celtics, you know, he laid the stinker. But 22-8, he was back on track. No JV yesterday, but JT held it down for him yesterday.
Starting point is 00:01:45 He had 33-8, and poor Zingas, man, 21-8. It's crazy that this game was that close without JB. That's the big red flag right there. It was a close dog fight all the way through, but we talk about the Celtics. They got so many players that can be all-stars at any given moment.
Starting point is 00:02:02 Without JB, you got a close battle like this. JB, obviously, an all-NBA kind of player. Mm-hmm. That's the difference between the Celtics and the Cavs. I mean, JB out, you still got a dog fight. If they got JB, I'm probably a blowout win for the Celtics. Yeah, that's the crazy part about it.
Starting point is 00:02:17 And you were talking about this before. I seen a lot of people say it about that six-man a year for Peyton Pritchard. Yeah. Hey, he been balling. Aw, man. He been balling. You might as well hang that up. That's his.
Starting point is 00:02:26 Yeah, for sure. I think the dope thing about the Cavaliers, though, for you to have a closer than Donovan Mitchell, and it seems like, obviously, we know he can get to it, but he's been doing it in the fourth. He's doing it in situations where winning matters. I think to have a player like that get in that mode at this time of the season going forward,
Starting point is 00:02:42 it's going to be ugly, man. Like you said, maybe it don't match up with the Celtics, but who really does? Other than that, I don't feel confident in Donovan Mitchell giving me a dub in the fourth quarter. So far, I think he, like I said, I think Jeff said it, he might be the best two-guard in the league right now. He balling.
Starting point is 00:02:57 He going crazy right now, for sure. My only fear with the Cavs is they one injury away from being eighth seed. That's a fact. They need injury away from being the eighth seed. True. That's a fact. They need everybody. They need the whole squad. Like, if they don't got the squad, it's over with.
Starting point is 00:03:10 So I pray that they stay healthy because if Donovan Mitchell or Darius Garland go out, they going to drop immediately. And listen, man, I've been looking at some teams in the East that could use
Starting point is 00:03:20 a little bit of help on the wing. We'll talk about how terrible the Wizards are later. But a Kyle Kuzma type player could go to the Cavs and help solidify some stuff for them. I'm not saying he gets them over the hump, but another player like that who give them another strong defensive wing and an able-minded shooter and scorer,
Starting point is 00:03:34 that'll get them there, man. I don't know if they can beat the Celtics, but like you said, that'll help with the depth because that team, everybody got to play perfect and not get hurt. I mean, they still got Karis LeVert. Six men for sure. Yeah, they still got Karis LeVert. Six men for sure. Yeah, they still got capable players. I mean,
Starting point is 00:03:47 our buddy's having an all-time year right now. My favorite backup point guard besides Pippen. What's his name? Todd Jerome. He's playing great. But they need a solidified scorer. I wouldn't say it'd be Kyle Kuzma. I mean, he could.
Starting point is 00:04:04 But he'd have to come off the bench. Yeah. And I don't know if Kuz is ready for that. I mean, I know he did it in LA and whatever, but I don't know if he's right there in his career to be like, yeah, I'm coming off the bench. Yeah, I think he'll be nothing on that. They need like Jordan Clarkson
Starting point is 00:04:20 or somebody that's somebody that's comfortable with being a solidified role player. Kuzma still want to be the star down there on the team. Yeah, I don't see him coming off the bench at all. Man, that's interesting. You think he would have to go to a role where he would start? Cause I mean, I'm just looking, we ain't gonna talk too much about the Wizards,
Starting point is 00:04:36 but like a player like him could go to another team and probably contribute on the championship level. You don't think he'd be like, all right, well, y'all already got a role and I come in and do my thing. I mean, I imagine he could probably beat out Isaac for a job if it came to that. But it's the chemistry. I got you. You don't want to alter it. Yeah, Isaac, they playing great.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Why would you ever... Yeah, don't fuck up the vibes. Not for coos. Too short. No disrespect to coos, but I'm not messing up the vibes for coos. For sure. For sure, man. Listen, man. Celtics, we talking enough about that team.
Starting point is 00:05:08 They just go ahead. They can't win them all. They ain't going to go 82-0. That is scary, though, for them to be that close without their dog too. Come on. Andy White didn't play us. They don't. They're good, man. That's what I'm saying. They all right, man. We ain't worried about the Celtics.
Starting point is 00:05:23 The Celtics are still the number one team to me. They're still the team to beat. Everybody's chasing them at this point, for sure. To still be that good of a team when you got two of your key players out says a lot about that organization. They know how to build a squad. But, I mean, they took a chance with the money. They didn't care.
Starting point is 00:05:41 A lot of teams care. Golden State, when they went on their run, they didn't care. They paid whatever the tax was. Boston right now, they don't care. I think we in that area. Like I said, I think they in that Golden State area. I think they got a chance to win three in a row.
Starting point is 00:05:58 Yeah. I'm rolling. They look like to be what could be the next dynasty in the NBA for sure. I can see them going back to back this year for sure. Most definitely. Speaking of paying that money, the man that they said they should have paid that money to for every athlete went crazy yesterday.
Starting point is 00:06:11 Everyone, verse number two in the West, man. Rockets to carry. I told you. I told you about the Rockets, man. Be hence to not believing in them. I'm asleep. They're a good young team, though. I'm just asleep.
Starting point is 00:06:22 I'm just asleep on the Rockets. I like the Rockets, man. I love Houston, but I'm just sleep on the Rockets. I like the Rockets, man. I love Houston, but I'm sleep on the Rockets. I just like the way they play. I told y'all Dylan Brooks, man, for some reason. Nobody likes him. I like Dylan Brooks. He just brings that energy to a group.
Starting point is 00:06:38 Like a young group, he like make you believe. Like he don't give a damn. And last night, you know him and SGA actually cool. For him to get the scuffle him and SGA actually cool. Yeah. For him to get the scuffle going for SGA over the ball, that just bring a different
Starting point is 00:06:49 kind of energy to a team. For sure. Like you said, I mean, I always show up in the stats, but the energy and the swag that he brings to a team is definitely undeniable.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Listen, man, close game yesterday, 119-116. You know what I'm saying? Bro, love to have a Dylan Brooks on the squad. Yeah, you need one. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:04 He's that person that you hate playing against, but love to have me on your squad, bro. Yeah, you need one. Hell yeah. He's that person that you hate playing against, but love to have in your squad, bro. Yeah, like, he like, I cannot say, and I ain't going to say he better than Pat Bev. They remind me of the same person, but he bigger. He more effective than Pat Bev, like, because he actually 6'7", 6'8". So he actually can, like, really bother people.
Starting point is 00:07:19 Pat Bev bother guards and stuff like that, but he actually, like, kind of get under, like, the SGA skin, even though SGA kills. Yeah. But you could see it, like. You got a throwback comparison? Like, somebody from the 90s that Dylan Brooks reminds you of? I was just trying to think of who I could.
Starting point is 00:07:35 Anthony Mason. I don't know. I got a story to tell. That's the real end, man. I'm just saying, like. Nah, a dog like that yeah cause you know like it's different
Starting point is 00:07:47 no shade to Pat Bibb I love Pat but Pat a point guard so for him to be effective it's defensively or whatever but you need your point guard
Starting point is 00:07:55 still get buckets in this league get buckets average 20 and 10 blah blah blah he don't really gotta do that as a wing cause you got
Starting point is 00:08:03 scoring guards he got he had John Moran now he that as a wing because you got scoring guards. He got John Moran. Now he got Fred Van Fleet. Then he got Jalen Green. Yeah, he's great. Desmond Bain. So, like, his role is to be that. But as a point guard, you kind of got to run the show,
Starting point is 00:08:17 even though when he was with the Rockets, James Harden did all the point guard duties. But they very similar. I just think his role fits a little better. For sure, man. That makes a lot of sense for real. And the crazy part about the whole team, like with Dylan Brooks, and did all the point guard duties. But they very similar. I just think his role fits a little better. For sure, man. That makes a lot of sense for real. And the crazy part about the whole team,
Starting point is 00:08:30 like with Dylan Brooks, like you said, you could feel the void he left when he left Memphis. Now he with this team, the energy, the way they compete. On top of that, listen, man, M.A., you saw what he did with the Celtics, man. I told you. He's already building early. I know it's early in the season, but he got a top two team in the West off two years.
Starting point is 00:08:43 He Mark Jackson, bro. Boston. I love Joe. Joe was the season, but he got a top two team in the West off two years. He Mark Jackson, bro. Boston. I love Joe. Joe was my guy when I was in Boston. Joe Steve Kerr. He built that team, got them where they needed to be.
Starting point is 00:08:56 They add a new piece. Joe get over the hump. I see what you're saying. So now he go somewhere else. He building up this Houston team. Hopefully everything goes smooth over there. I wish them you're saying. So now he goes somewhere else. He building up this Houston team. Hopefully, hopefully everything goes smooth over there. I wish them well, bro.
Starting point is 00:09:10 I know they out there, M.A. They out there, boy. So Trent Lightly is a little different than the Boston. First of all, M.A., it's a better match. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:19 You got a better field to play in, bro. Hopefully, you just single now, so it don't even matter. Yeah, the open gym out there, tap in with me and hit the deal. The real pro-ams. Got a few places
Starting point is 00:09:30 that you can attend my boy. He definitely know how to build a team and he get people to believe. I was against him sending like,
Starting point is 00:09:39 ah, what's my guy name that went to Villanova over there that doesn't get, he don't get to play anymore. Damn, Ken Whitmore.
Starting point is 00:09:46 There you go. I was like confused that he wasn't playing because I think he's a star. But shit, I guess he know what he's doing. Yeah, and everybody was just like, you know, they gave him high praise, like looking for more minutes, but he's like, nah, I got this. Yeah, like. How can you go against him now? You can't, bro. They didn't dream of being two in the West at any
Starting point is 00:10:02 point in the season, probably. Them making the playoffs for them was probably a great year so far, but they in a position to be good. SGA still went crazy 32-1-8. He's going crazy. Jalen Williams, man,
Starting point is 00:10:10 22-5. Isaiah Hardenstein, man, 19-13. Do you agree with Kendrick Perkins when he said he's the top 10 center in the NBA?
Starting point is 00:10:19 Yeah. Yeah, because that position is spooky anyway, though. Mm-hmm. So he might fuck around and be higher, though. Yeah, at this point. Honestly, so far as his value, his value is damn near screaming top five at the center position.
Starting point is 00:10:33 I mean, he played great for the Knicks last year. He's playing great for them now. He's definitely top ten for sure. All right, I got to ask y'all this question. One and two. Outside of SGA, who's an all-star from one of these two teams? Somebody got to make up something. We feel like J SGA, who's an all-star from one of these two teams? Somebody got to make up something. We feel like Jalen Williams is supposed to be all-star.
Starting point is 00:10:49 I'm going to let y'all cook, man. Y'all know how I feel about this multiple all-star shit. You don't feel like Sungan should be one for the Rockets? I'm saying we go from either team as well. No. Yeah. Okay. We should. 18 and 10? Number two killing. 18, 10, and 5. And the 2C, I mean, if they stay top three.
Starting point is 00:11:07 Albert! What is Jalen Green averaging? Let's see. I think Jalen Green is probably in the mid-20s. But we got to go to his stats. That'd be lit if he make the All-Star team. I mean, 19. I'll probably have to give it to Sagan.
Starting point is 00:11:23 Yeah, especially with the guards. Yeah, especially the guard in the West. If he can get us up to like 22, because Jalen Williams is averaging 22. If he can get to 22 and they're number two in the West, I'll give it to Jalen Green. But Sagan right now is, yeah, I'm going to go with him. Yeah, that's tough.
Starting point is 00:11:38 22, six or five. Yeah, he's going with Jalen Williams. Yeah, he deserves to be an all-star, bro. For sure, man. Shout out to the young boys killing it, for sure. James Harden went crazy. Vintage, 39, man. He's been on a little tear.
Starting point is 00:11:50 Yeah, he's been looking like, you know what I'm saying? Days of James Harden's past. Took karaoke yesterday. He still got it in the tank, bro. It's still there. 39, 11, and 9. Damn near triple-double, bro. He's big age, bro.
Starting point is 00:12:03 He's still cooking, bro. Yeah, he different. Yeah, I'm not even going to talk about him. Him with Justin to those players, like, he had to sacrifice for Paul and Kawhi, you feel me? Fell into their role. Dumbed down
Starting point is 00:12:18 in stats. He's like, shit, we back in Houston. Back in H-town? We in LA? We in Houston? We in LA? We back home, LA. We back home. We running your track. We took over your track. I feel like Paul George, I know we give Paul George shit on the show, but I feel like he needs to be James Harden, bro.
Starting point is 00:12:35 James Harden dumbed down his role for y'all. But when we need him, he coming out and killing, bro. Some people don't got that capability. And I'll say this. See how I feel about it. I don't feel like that Paul George was ever a better player than James Harden. No, no, bro. Some people don't got that capability. And I'll say this. See, I feel about it. I don't feel like that Paul George was ever a better player
Starting point is 00:12:47 than James Harden. No, no, no. I'm just saying. I don't think he get able to. No, hell no, he not. Talent-wise, I just don't think that he could ever facilitate
Starting point is 00:12:54 a game the way that James Harden does. I think that's the difference. Like, they put all the players around him. Likewise, it was in Houston with this team. And you got great coaching
Starting point is 00:13:02 with Ty Lue. It's like, yeah, bro, we put PG in this position, they wouldn't be in the same boat. No, for sure, because they're two different players. I'm just saying when it's time to take over. Whatever you do as a player, Paul George, turn it up when we need you the most.
Starting point is 00:13:15 You can't be a role player when we down three or four players. That's all I'm saying. Just turn it up a notch. Yeah, facts. When they went out, he started cooking. The thing about James Harden, he's a point guard. So I always tell all players, you want to have the ability to play point guard. Even if you're a great scorer, you want to have the ability to play point guard
Starting point is 00:13:36 because you can control the game. So that's what made Draymond Green special because he can basically play point guard. So he got the ability to control the game offensively and defensively. But James Harden can do the same thing offensively. He can control the game because he can play point guard. When you're just a bona fide scorer,
Starting point is 00:13:53 a two guard, and you can't control the game, that's Paul George. He can have moments where he's great in a game. But to control it, putting people in places to make everybody successful, that's why James Harden can play with undermanned teams and look great. For sure, man. Listen, man. He made history.
Starting point is 00:14:10 Only him and Steph, two players ever, with 3,000 make threes, bro. That's crazy. Goddamn. We dive into the competitive world of streaming, how she's turning so-called niche into mainstream gold, connecting audiences with stories that truly make them feel seen. What others dismiss as niche, we embrace as core. It's this idea that there are so many stories out there, and if you can find a way to curate and help the right person discover the right content, the term that we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen. Get a front row seat to where media, marketing, technology, entertainment, and sports collide. And hear how leaders like Anjali are carving out space and shaking things up a bit
Starting point is 00:18:05 in the most crowded of markets. Listen to Good Company on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I don't think I had 3,000 points. It's like 3,000 threes. I want to see how many they missed, but hitting threes is crazy. I don't think I took 3,000 shots. Man, somebody look up this nigga's stats.
Starting point is 00:18:36 I'm not saying you scored 10K. I scored 10K playing, bro. You scored 10K. We ain't going to let you down playing that up here. No, but I don't think... That's a lot of shots. I definitely ain't take 1 let you down playing that up here. No, but I don't think... That's a lot of shots. I definitely ain't taking a thousand threes. I'm 100% sure I ain't taking a thousand.
Starting point is 00:18:51 How many years have you played in the league, Roddy? Look at them damn jerseys. 55! Damn, Mitchell and that's... Off of shop. Jerseys up there. Fuck that. Hey, Diggs, we got to get a Boston boy. We got to get a Boston-Michelin SC jersey.
Starting point is 00:19:09 I got a bunch of Boston jerseys. Nah, we need a Michelin bestseller. Y'all want the game war? Nah. We got to brand it the right way. Y'all want the game war? Just put 2021 in the dash. Well, they said it that year. How many
Starting point is 00:19:28 FJs did you have? Did we see? Phil go to Tim's. I shot 2,000 three. That boy was putting that hoe up. They made
Starting point is 00:19:39 3,000. Oh, fuck. Look, they made 3,000 I only made 7,900 Ain't that crazy Damn bro You took 7,000 shots That ain't enough
Starting point is 00:19:55 What the fuck Look at that number I'm like damn How many years Did my nigga play I know you 10 plus Yeah I guess You did buy that
Starting point is 00:20:03 I didn't shoot enough 511 This nigga shot And then 82 Half of my How many years did my nigga play? I know you 10 plus. Yeah, I guess you did buy that pot. I didn't shoot enough. 5'11". This nigga shot. And then 82. Half of my... What is that, Mike? Oh, the three-pointers attempted. I attempted 1,900.
Starting point is 00:20:14 They made 1,000. Yeah, bro. But I mean, bro, only two people have done it, so I'll be, but damn. You was in a few wicked situations. I only made 703s in my career. Y'all broke as fuck. Is that 40%?
Starting point is 00:20:26 Hell nah. Like 35, something like that. 35? Not bad. My first years don't count. 36? My first years don't count.
Starting point is 00:20:36 I was broke as hell. I was going to say, your first early years, why don't count? And also, if you play a little bit later, when you got the two of us. 21% from three of my first years?
Starting point is 00:20:43 I probably shot half court shots. For real. They used to set me in with one minute to go on the quarter. They got to get the ball every time. Chuck it. 21% is crazy. Shout out to the people who feel like they're going to shoot it before the buzzer goes off and wait. So they say they feel good percentage and then shoot it afterwards.
Starting point is 00:20:57 Oh, I learned that quick. Yeah. I start throwing to rookies. That'd be crazy watching these niggas hoop in. You see this nigga shooting 21%, but you put him in, like, a regular YMCA gym, this nigga fuck around, won't miss a damn shot. That's good and all.
Starting point is 00:21:11 That's why I be telling people, everybody can shoot, but when you only get one or two shots a game, when you a rookie, second-year player, and you miss both them bitches, niggas be like, nigga, you shot 10% on the year. You be like, bitch, I shot two shots a game. Fuck you. Look at the field goal attempts.
Starting point is 00:21:28 Steph Curry got 17,000. He took 10,000 more shots than me. As he should. Yeah, definitely. That nigga's putting that hoe up. Reggie. Reggie putting that bitch up. 17-5.
Starting point is 00:21:42 God damn. Jesus. Damon Lillard. My boy getting that hoe up. And more on the way. Shout out to my dog. I didn't know you shot 15,000 already. It's crazy Ray Allen made that many threes.
Starting point is 00:21:55 And he ain't, that wasn't a three-point shooting league at that time. It wasn't, bro. Nah, hell nah. That's why I don't like when people try to play like, downplay him with James Harden pass. I'm like, no, James Harden was in the area where he got to shoot 30,000 threes. Ray Allaire in his career was a shooter, but he was a slasher as well. He went to shoot threes.
Starting point is 00:22:11 That wasn't even their thing, though. But, like, that's crazy, bro. Reggie got some FGAs up, boy. I put some more respect on Dame Wheeler. Niggas got Dame fucked up, bro. Nah, Dame like that. But look how many more th three Steph got than everybody. 800.
Starting point is 00:22:28 It's still going. That nigga got my whole career more than everybody else. Nah, legit. That's crazy. Shout out to those two boys. That's an 0-9 draft right there. One and two. I'm proud of y'all boys, man.
Starting point is 00:22:39 That's hard. Shout out to Wardell. Hey, man, this game was crazy. That's right. Yelkis had a triple W yesterday. 28-14-11. And Peezy, 28. Hey, man, this game was crazy. Jokic had a triple W yesterday, 28-14-11 in Peasy, 28. Man, I need a
Starting point is 00:22:48 jersey. I've been gassy, bro. Norm Powell was on his run to being an all-star, man. I think that he
Starting point is 00:22:55 had hit with that injury bug a little bit, might have slowed him down, but what they are in the West, are they at top? They should be
Starting point is 00:23:03 in the West. They play in. They should be within eight. Do James Harden make the All-Star team if they in the playoff race? James Harden has to make the All-Star team. Yes. So he make it over Jalen Williams? Yes.
Starting point is 00:23:15 Oh. 100%. I don't like that. I don't like that. That ain't fair. Oh, yes it is. They seven. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:22 Yeah, he got me in the playoffs. Yeah, he's in there. You going to pick him over Jalen Williams? Number one seed. You got plenty more years to go. I'm nothing on Jalen Williams making over James Harden. Go to James Harden's talks, please. That fan vote is going to be too much for Jalen Williams to deal with, bro.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Let me see that. Woo! He got him back. He get 22-7. That's all-star numbers, bro. Yeah. And he get that squad anywhere near as – That's all-star, bro. That's all-star, bro. Make sure both of y. That's all-star numbers, bro. Yeah. And he get that squad anywhere near as... That's all-star, bro.
Starting point is 00:23:47 Come on, bro. Make sure both of y'all start at this point, bro. That's a disgruntled team over there, bro. I mean, it's a close race. Bro, he's filling up an arena for Steve Ballmer, bro. That deserves a lot, bro. Because he built that stadium and thought he was going to have Kawhi and PG. And he got James Harden right now.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Yeah. Respect, James. He could be the 2,000. You definitely the second... You the third best two-guard of all time with my book. Don't worry. Yeah. Respect, James. He could be the 2,000. You definitely the second. You the third best two-guard of all time with my book. Don't worry about it. Aw, damn. I ain't about to start it.
Starting point is 00:24:09 Just know that's how I feel. I'm standing on that. How old is he? 36? Yep. I ain't going to do that shit. You don't want to do it? Nah, I ain't going to do it.
Starting point is 00:24:20 Fuck it. He number three for me. 35? Mm. Go. Let's just do it. go see what D-Wade was doing at 35 D-Wade
Starting point is 00:24:31 well you know what I'm on the court no no no just on the court 35 at 35 what year was that for D-Wade was that Cleveland
Starting point is 00:24:43 nah I think 35. A lot of them niggas weren't good at 35. He might have been in the heat with Brian at 35. You know, D-Wade was a little older than everybody.
Starting point is 00:24:54 He was. Yeah, he came in the league. Them and Don connect. Yeah, he was, though. For real. So, damn, D-Wade. I don't know. We got to get a chance
Starting point is 00:25:02 to look it up. 10 years, came in 03. Came in the 03 class 2013 damn bro he's old bro yeah so D-Wade might have still been killing
Starting point is 00:25:12 yeah yeah he might have been killing cause D-Wade was 30 in uh 2013 math math we'll look it up for sure uh
Starting point is 00:25:21 while we looking it up Yoke is another crazy year man yeah MVP ah he he on a run to be MVP then we'll look it up for sure. While we're looking it up, Jokic, another crazy year, man. Yeah. MVP? Yeah, man. He on the run to be MVP, but right now my leading getter
Starting point is 00:25:31 is Jason Tatum and Donovan Mitchell. And SGA right there, too. There we go. Yeah, SGA. Them three right there, they kind of got it for me right now. Jokic, I'm going to quit saying he don't care about basketball
Starting point is 00:25:43 because obviously he do what he do, he obviously care. I just think other stuff he cares about, too. Most definitely. And I think basketball is just like, this is what I do. This is my job. I'm good at it. But I just love other shit, too. And some people are just obsessed with basketball.
Starting point is 00:26:00 For sure. Listen, man, speaking of Western Conference, man, number three in the West right now, the Grizzlies came back yesterday against the Pacers that was down 19,
Starting point is 00:26:08 got the dub, 136 to 121. Listen, man, they won the last six games, man, three in the West. You talk about Javis going to get
Starting point is 00:26:16 his revenge, people overlooked him, people forgot about him. He's making his impact felt. Can't forget about Jav, man. Too special, man. Too special. Get the smut off his name immediately, please.
Starting point is 00:26:27 Listen, I know it wasn't his game, but I know y'all saw that Oopie caught dog. And as soon as he caught it, everybody started having that conversation again. Who was more athletic between him, Russ, and D-Rose? I got D-Rose. That's what that was on. I'm not changing my stance on it,
Starting point is 00:26:39 but that Oopie caught where he jumped and looked at the rim, bro. My guy, D-Rose. I watched that nigga put look in the rim and dunk on a nigga. What's his name? Drogget.
Starting point is 00:26:51 Or Drogget with two. Yeah, filthy. But Ja, he's a freak athlete too. I mean, the thing about the difference between them two is like,
Starting point is 00:27:01 when you see D-Rose, the way he was built, it was like alright that's like a running back. Joss William like he's super skinny he dumb athletic but I D Rose was crazy.
Starting point is 00:27:16 Now that's different bro. He like fly like a YouTube person. Nah straight up. You don't expect that from him. When he jump, it's like, what the... And to me, I think he'll jump, but then he'll cock the ball back so far.
Starting point is 00:27:32 It's like, bro, that's crazy, bro, that you could just fly like that for sure. Yeah. Special. Nah, for sure. Jaren Jackson Jr., man, DPOY candidate. How y'all feel about that?
Starting point is 00:27:41 Yeah. He be holding it down. You got to share it with Jah, man. It's the only reason he getting it. I've never seen, seriously, but I've never seen somebody need they nigga that bad, bro. He definitely only plays well.
Starting point is 00:27:56 For real, bro. Because Desmond Bain still the producer. You know what I'm saying? He going through a little slump right now, but usually Desmond Bain is still produced regardless, but yeah, he's a totally different player. Bro, he's crazy, bro. He needs Ja. He needs Ja to kill, bro. Thenard is still produced regardless, but yeah. He's a totally different player. He's crazy, bro. He needs Ja.
Starting point is 00:28:05 He needs Ja to kill, bro. The Ja stimulus is real. Marcus, Marcus, my boy Marcus is back. Marcus Smart. Yeah. He's been playing well for them, too. He gives them that Dylan Brooks kind of energy. A little different player.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Who better? Dylan Brooks or Marcus Smart. Yep. Today, I'll say Marcus Smart two years. I mean, Dylan Brooks two years Today, I'll say Marcus Smart two years. I mean, Dylan Brooks two years ago, I'll say Marcus Smart. Yeah, I think Marcus Smart was better in Boston. But for this role, I think Dylan Brooks is a better player than Marcus Smart for this role. Marcus Smart, point guard.
Starting point is 00:28:39 And he playing with John Morant, who's a point guard. It's a little different role. How tall is Marcus Smart? Like 6'4"? role. I told Marcus tomorrow, like 6'4"? Yeah. Okay. 6'3", 6'4". So it's a different role. But he fit the way that they play so perfectly.
Starting point is 00:28:53 Like you said, he'll get after you. He going to full court press you. You know what I'm saying? He going to get grimy with it. I like him for that team. I think he's definitely what they need. They still need a wing to me to compete in the West. But I like the way the team is built, bro.
Starting point is 00:29:02 Especially when Ja healthy, everybody game a lot of the way up. Yeah, Jai, man. That's crazy that they play like that. It's like me on 2K. When I'm on the team, it's like a guaranteed win. You and Mal? Yeah, when I'm not on the team,
Starting point is 00:29:15 Mal can struggle. You know what I mean? He can't carry the team. But when I'm out there, when I'm there, it's like everything's better. Mal, Triple J. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:24 He's Jaron Jackson Jr. without me, bro. I'm the John Moreno of our team, man. But the thing is, I play Dillon Brooks' position. So I don't even know how this works. Damn. Who, Keenan? See Marcus Smart? Keenan, yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:38 You know what? Keenan, he's effective. As long as Bird ain't playing with us. Shout out to Bird. But if Bird and Keenan on the same team we probably gonna lose the 2K chemistry
Starting point is 00:29:49 is hilarious cause they both they similar players they both shoot threes and cut and then they be cutting at the same time and
Starting point is 00:29:55 Mount quit then we got Carl West then we just get crazy oh since we on 2K is this somebody that you know y'all can shout him out
Starting point is 00:30:04 if y'all want to is this somebody that y'all haven this somebody that, you know, y'all can shout him out if y'all want to. Is this somebody that y'all haven't beaten that plays 2K that y'all know is like super cold? Like who the coldest nigga on 2K? The super, I played a couple YouTubers,
Starting point is 00:30:13 but I don't remember. But the game, we had a real good game against the game. I think they beat us by one, right, Mel? Yeah, he hit like a hook shot or some bullshit.
Starting point is 00:30:22 Oh, so he cold at the game? I don't even know if that's him playing. Oh, okay. But they playing on his account. I'm questioning at the game? I don't even know if that's him playing. But they playing on his account. I'm questioning if that's him. I don't want to know if that's him. When we got in the chat, he like, get your team, nigga. You know how he talk.
Starting point is 00:30:35 I'm like, it might be him. But I don't know if he. He be on that motherfucker all day. Whoever it is, they don't lead the game. We going there right now, I guarantee you he on there. Having a ghost ride for 2K is crazy. I hope that's him, though. I remember him being really, really cold and mad
Starting point is 00:30:52 too, so he might just be like that. We're going to do some investigations for sure. But he on there, though. The Pacers, it is what it is. Also, hey, shout out to my Detroit fans, the Pistons fans, all y'all an apology. I called y'all a poverty franchise a couple weeks ago, and y'all, an apology. I called y'all a poverty franchise a couple weeks ago,
Starting point is 00:31:06 and y'all beat our ass on Friday. They played me for the shit. Yeah. I told y'all. I did not tell y'all. Detroit was on to something. Oh, yeah, but I'm nothing. And then shout out to Rev over there.
Starting point is 00:31:18 Call me Rev. No disrespect, bro. DJ said all this. I did, man. I love Detroit. One of my favorite cities, but you know what I'm saying since Mouse in the Palace it ain't been no love

Starting point is 00:31:54 Go. Nah, see? See? See? Last year, he was defensive player of the year about a book. Now all of a sudden. And I don't know why you said that
Starting point is 00:32:01 because he was not defensive player of the year. Well, he averaged like three blocks or something last year. He did. I said that and y'all that, because he was not defensive player. Well, he averaged like three blocks or something last year. He did. I said that, and y'all put smut on my name for that. I feel like he averaged like three blocks last year. But see, Miles, look how these Pacer fans is turning on you. Miles, turn that Fantasia on the way to office this morning, brother.
Starting point is 00:32:17 Appreciate you. We're going through some things right now. We got to figure it out, man. Why Tyrese don't want to shoot the ball, man? What's going on, bro? I don't know. Starting point is 00:32:35 Shout out to the people. I was keeping it at the game. They said my boy needed to get back in the Kobe's. You need that mama mentality. Yeah, I don't know, man. But I think that Puma bag make him feel better at night. And I can understand why. Nah, we ain't blaming...
Starting point is 00:32:47 I love Puma. LaMelo rocking out. Yeah, it is. I want some LaMelo's because the way that motherfucker scoring that ball. Hey! Shit.
Starting point is 00:32:55 We ain't putting that on the brand. Everybody's who I've been wearing the Aaron Fox be killer. I need some LaMelo's. Tyrese, just get your shit together, King. That's it. This is your main guy over here. Hey, we good, bro. Don't worry about it.

Starting point is 00:33:32 Y'all, everybody's talking about fire Doc. It's still fire, that nigga. But I understand it now. Hey, he did a video last week. He said, somebody said, I can't dribble. I can't shoot off the pull up. He had a video. He said, somebody said, I can't dribble. I can't shoot off the pull-up. He said that. He had a video.
Starting point is 00:33:48 He said, run the video. I swear to God. I'm blocked. I'm blocked, you dig it? Lethal on your tail, bro, Paul. He said, I can't do this in real life. He said, I can't do it off the pull-up. It was a hard-ass pull-up every time.
Starting point is 00:34:00 He was spraying it. I was like, damn. Hey, why y'all ain't tag me? Because I'm blocked. Nigga, I'm blocked. He was spraying that bitch. I was like, damn. Hey, why y'all ain't tag me? Because I'm blocked. Nigga, I'm blocking you. We have to set that up, bro. Bro, he did a full court gummy challenge, bro. He's going crazy.

Starting point is 00:34:34 don't get it fucked up. I do this too. I ain't no set shooter, nigga. I'm up for a lethal. Shit, you know what I mean? I think you said something because somebody wrote me. There we go.
Starting point is 00:34:42 Oh, yeah. Step back. I had a guy in the comments asking me, can I shoot off the dribble? Ah! Ah! I told you. That Aaron Gore dribble.
Starting point is 00:34:52 Don't get crazy. Don't get crazy. Is y'all nuts? I think you can do a one dribble, though. Same guy's page. He hooping at 24-hour fitness. Ah! This guy was missing mid-range jump shots.
Starting point is 00:35:08 Go crazy, Lita. Lita, you my favorite person on the internet now, man. Talk bad to him, man. Oh, man. Shout out to Lita Shooter, man. I'm blocking you, man. I was running through these games and happy yesterday as well. But that's funny to see.
Starting point is 00:35:22 Magic security net since today, 192. Magic going crazy, six in a row funniest here. Magic security yesterday, 100-92. Magic going crazy. Six in a row, 12 of the last 13, man. Hey, Franz Wagner should be an all-star. Without a doubt. That's light. Without a doubt, he should be an all-star. We ain't got to talk about him.
Starting point is 00:35:34 100%. He joined my band list, too. The last few times I put money on Franz, he's played in my face. So, you know what I'm saying? It's still up for that. That's nuts. Cam Johnson. Special, bro.
Starting point is 00:35:43 He back. It's time for him to get traded. Yeah, man. You see what they're asking for him? First round is right. Yeah. I can imagine. Yeah, he will be staying in Brooklyn.
Starting point is 00:35:51 Yeah. They out of pocket. Knicks beat the Pelicans. Not the Cavs if they could get him. Oh, shit. We rolling now. Would you give it up? You give it up the first round pick for him?
Starting point is 00:36:01 Yes, sir. We in a win now mode. We got a chance. Get the first rounder up. I like that. We got a chance. Get the first rounder up. I like that. We got a chance. I need him. And he's used to playing
Starting point is 00:36:08 in the culture basketball. Yeah. He'll come in and fish. Listen, the Knicks secured Puck just like 185. You got a rule. Under 100 points, you suck.
Starting point is 00:36:16 The Pelicans had 28 at halftime yesterday. And they ass. It was just, come on. Go ahead, B.I. I see it's time for you to get out of there.
Starting point is 00:36:24 Yes, sir. I seen Utah, won't you? You wasn't going to sign that extension. Smart man, you don't need I see it's time for you to get out of there. Yeah, it's live. I see Utah wants you. You wasn't going to sign that extension. Smart man, you don't need to be in Utah. That ain't your vibes. It's live. But it's time for you to move on, brother. The Pelicans need to get rid of everybody, Zion included.
Starting point is 00:36:34 Zion, it's time to go. You don't even want to play basketball for real out there no more. He going to come back for another team picture and show you Pappy as hell. Yeah, he don't want to be out there. I think he going to kill somewhere else. I don't even know where you can, who or what would trade for them. He want to go to the Knicks, bro. Send him to the Knicks.
Starting point is 00:36:49 No, he don't fit the Knicks. He need to go to Brooklyn. Trade him to Brooklyn. Oh, he's a Brooklyn nigga for sure. Yeah. He look like Biggie anyway. He's a BK nigga. He baby Biggie.
Starting point is 00:37:00 He look like, he fit Brooklyn. Brooklyn him. Oh, boy. I ain't mad at that. He had a problem in Dallas, boy. He hit him a lot. New York. Mikael Bridges had 31 yesterday.
Starting point is 00:37:12 Just go to the Heights, my boy. Go to the Heights. Yeah, go to the Heights. Retire his jersey in one game. Starlets would be crazy. Oh, yeah. I don't know. He like them built like a monster.
Starting point is 00:37:23 So, shit. Starlets ain't got no deal. What's that girl's name? I don't know. He like them built like a monster. So shit. I'll take that to the deal. What's that girl's name? What's her name, Mike? Mike know. Mike know her? That girl that he... That motherfucker
Starting point is 00:37:37 girl big as hell, boy. I said, boy, I got hella fat hoes for you, buddy. You ain't gotta get them blown up. They might have some hell damage on them, but God damn. Shout out to Mariah Mills. There you go. Double L. Maybach music.
Starting point is 00:37:56 Oh, me. Why would you search her name? He pop up. That's wicked, bro. That's crazy. All the mixtapes she got is her. And the first nigga to pop up is crazy. Hey, bro. That's crazy. All the mixtapes she got and the first nigga to pop up. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:38:06 Hey, man. I'm amazing. Bro, I like that Maybach music. Sweet. Look at them cheeks sitting down. Zion, you out of pocket. Only you and Shaq can handle her, bro. It's over with, bro.
Starting point is 00:38:20 I'm drowning in that. It's over with. I don't want no smoke, bro. I'm good as toast. It's over with. I don't want no smoke, bro. I'm good as toast. Oh, man. Sweet. Shout out to Zion, man. That's crazy, man.
Starting point is 00:38:31 That's insane. The Raptors beat the Heat yesterday, 119-116. Really good game yesterday. RJ Berryman, kill it. I got to put some respect on RJ. 37-7, bro. Hey, he's having a hell of a bounce back here, man. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:42 They put a lot of smoke on his name leaving New York last year. I mean, him playing back at home, I know they don't get a lot of attention, but I think that's what he needed. And he's starting to become a player that we thought about when he was at Duke. For sure. I'm hyped for him.
Starting point is 00:38:53 And you know what I'm saying? He dealt with some crazy losses this year. Lost a sibling. So shout out to him bouncing back. Having to worry about how he thought to even get to it like that, for sure. Oh, for sure. They've been talking about the Heat all year.
Starting point is 00:39:02 His most consistent player, Tyler Hero, 31 yesterday. You said it. Keep him in South Beach. My favorite white boy, bro. Go where you celebrate it, bro. Not where you tolerate it, bro. He celebrated out there. I don't know, man.
Starting point is 00:39:13 Told y'all, man. Let my boy go, man. Pat Riley said, ain't nobody celebrating here, bro. If you don't got no banners, watch your mouth. That's how he feel. That's how he talk, for sure. Nah, I respect it, though. And Pat can say that, though.
Starting point is 00:39:23 He talk like that to Jimmy, and I think that's crazy. But he like, bro. Nah,, I respect it, though. And Pat can say that, though. He talk like that to Jimmy, and I think that's crazy. But he like, bro. Nah, it's real talk, though. But y'all think Jimmy should leave, though, before Pat for sure get the statue? Oh, for sure. No, they already said it. Send Pat before. Send Pat.
Starting point is 00:39:36 I mean, not Pat. Jimmy. Send Jimmy away. Oh, yeah. Jimmy about to be gone. Yeah, Jimmy got to go. Jimmy. Jimmy.
Starting point is 00:39:44 Yeah, he going to be leaving. To where, though to go. Jimmy, yeah, he going to be leaving. To where, though? Where would y'all put him? Let's wild out. Send him to Cleveland. Wow. Wow. Now we win the championship.
Starting point is 00:39:53 Now they lit. Wild out. I ain't mad at that. They lit. We win that shit. You got another closer with Don, another capable defender, somebody else who ain't scared to guard, either one of them, most importantly,
Starting point is 00:40:03 as far as being able to as well. That'll put them in win mode now. I don't like it, though. I don't scared to guard, either one of them, most importantly, as far as being able to as well, that'll put them in win mode. I don't like it, though. I don't like it, though. Because the chemistry. He might rock the boat. Because he, he play hard,
Starting point is 00:40:13 but I like Donovan Mitchell being the leader of that group. For sure. And I think Cam Johnson, he kind of, he low, you know, low maintenance,
Starting point is 00:40:21 mild mannered. Low maintenance is a good word to use in a situation. Jimmy gonna come in there with a blowout and they're gonna be like, all right,. Low maintenance is a good word to use in a situation. Jimmy going to come in there with a blowout and they're going to be like, all right, bro. They'll be good because they're going to have some. Yeah, but who you going to put the ball? Who you want the ball to have in the fourth quarter?
Starting point is 00:40:35 Who you want to have the ball in the fourth quarter, Jimmy or Donovan Mitchell? And it's like, Jimmy's a great closer. We know that Donovan Mitchell's growing to be a great closer. So you might have that little controversy. Jimmy's a great closer. We know that Donovan Mitchell's growing to be a great closer. So, you might have that little controversy, like...
Starting point is 00:40:48 Yeah. You don't know if Jimmy ready to sacrifice yet. Yeah, because Jimmy ain't gonna walk in there and be like, this Donovan team. Not yet.
Starting point is 00:40:55 I mean, he will though, because I seen him do it with Minnesota. Like, he was like, this is Cat team. It didn't work out long,
Starting point is 00:41:01 but he said it. He did it with Philly. If Cat was a dog to him, to Jimmy, he would have. Yeah, he did it in Philly with Joel, so. But I wonder if he got that respect because, you know, they wanted to get Donovan Mitchell in Miami. So maybe if he got that type of respect, it could probably work out. They probably like each other.
Starting point is 00:41:18 We don't even know them off the court. They probably cool. Sure. Might work. I don't know. I just think it's fire for Donovan Mitchell. He'd be in a conversation now because I I know he got a lot of smut in Utah for that,
Starting point is 00:41:26 but shout out to Don. I seen your shoes, brother. You supposed to see it. Oh, yeah, yeah. All-star. It's a new all-star on the way, brother. You're delinquent, brother. Yeah, we been waiting for the last, Don.
Starting point is 00:41:35 I like these new ones. All right. We can't even put that on JR. We're going to do it anyway. I know a lot of cops and they get asked all the time, have you ever had to shoot your gun? Sometimes the answer is yes.
Starting point is 00:41:50 But there's a company dedicated to a future where the answer will always be no. Across the country, cops call this taser the revolution. But not everyone was convinced it was that simple. Cops believed everything that taser told them. From Lava for Good and the team that brought you Bone Valley But not everyone was convinced it was that simple. From Lava for Good and the team that brought you Bone Valley comes a story about what happened when a multi-billion dollar company dedicated itself to one visionary mission. Starting point is 00:43:03 NFL player, Heisman Trophy winner. It's just a compassionate choice to allow players all reasonable means to care for themselves. Music stars Marcus King, John Osborne from Brothers Osborne. We have this misunderstanding of what this quote-unquote drug man. Benny the Butcher. Brent Smith from Shinedown. We got B-Real from Cypress Hill.
Starting point is 00:43:25 NHL enforcer Riley Cote. Marine Corvette. MMA fighter Liz Karamush. What we're doing now isn't working, and we need to change things. Stories matter, and it brings a face to them. It makes it real. It really does. It makes it real.

We dive into the competitive world of streaming, how she's turning so-called niche into mainstream gold, connecting audiences with stories that truly make them feel seen.
Starting point is 00:44:28 What others dismiss as niche, we embrace as core. It's this idea that there are so many stories out there. And if you can find a way to curate and help the right person discover the right content, the term that we always hear from our audience is that they feel seen. Get a front row seat to where media, marketing, technology, entertainment, and sports collide. Starting point is 00:45:02 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Lakers took care of the Jazz yesterday, 105 and 104. Did y'all see the end of that game yesterday? Nah, what happened? Man, basically, Collin Sexton was in a position, you know what I'm saying, go ahead, bucket time, and Will Hardy caught the timeout, the head coach of Jazz. About one second, 1.4 left, and they were just like,
Starting point is 00:45:30 why would you do that, basically? Young, you know, young coach made a mistake. It's all good. I've done that a couple times my second year. You make mistakes. Yeah, that's what happened to that game because it was a close game, obviously. So it's more about the Lakers than it does Jazz to be in a competing situation with them.
Starting point is 00:45:46 But 80-33-11. LeBron 27-14. LeBron is getting stats, but he has looked like old man LeBron, man. And nobody wants to say it, unfortunately. I mean, shit. What are you, 40? Yeah. Shit. I don't know. I've only been carrying the league since I was 18. Right.
Starting point is 00:46:02 22-9. 22-8. What's that, 8? 9, 22, 18. To see LeBron only averaging 22 is crazy. But LeBron's, I don't know what he was
Starting point is 00:46:10 about these last months off. And them stats are fire as fuck. It was crazy. He's top five in assists, I believe, too. It was crazy. If I would've averaged 22 any year of my life,
Starting point is 00:46:17 I would've told y'all, nigga, I was that nigga. The fact that we're disappointing LeBron, like, this is a down year. 22. That's crazy, bro. That lets you know
Starting point is 00:46:24 how great of a player he is. They're still doing that, bro. I don't even see him getting no. I don't even look at it as old man buckets. It's like, why can't y'all still guard this nigga? They still going for the fake out. Hardest move in basketball. Nah, that's a fact.
Starting point is 00:46:39 That's what I'm saying. It's kind of wicked seeing him average that. It is. It is be weird seeing LeBron do a regular dunks now. 22-8 now. He's like, yeah, when his head don't really get to the rim pulls. Yeah, bro. He dunking with all arms now. Yeah, that was nuts, bro. My head is
Starting point is 00:46:53 always at that. You said third highest? Yeah. Like, LeBron doing more dunking with the arm now. He be like, I got a dunking. He rim grazing a little bit. And people be feeling like they can contest. Like, Bron doing more dunking with the arm now. He be like, I got a dunking and he rim grazing a little bit. Damn.
Starting point is 00:47:07 And people be feeling like they can contend. Like, Bradley Beal getting a block on LeBron Boyd in 2002, you would have never.
Starting point is 00:47:13 Need a windmill on that thing. But. Damn, that's crazy though. His dunk package is definitely down. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:20 He got the Jeff Teague dunk package there. Oh. Oh, that's tough. Man, like it's new world, man. Mavs took care of the Blazers yesterday.
Starting point is 00:47:29 7-131. Eight of the last nine, man. Mavs been going crazy. Luka returned, but they've been winning without him. But he showed why he was needed. 36-13 yesterday.
Starting point is 00:47:37 To return, getting 36 is crazy. Something slight. Off the pond, a 36 is nuts. Walking the park situation. Listen, man, the Blazers, they competed yesterday. Anthony Simons had so many
Starting point is 00:47:48 fouls in the first half yesterday. It was crazy. But he dropped 24, if it's 27, in the third quarter yesterday. He was cooking. That boy, hey, we watched him. We know that boy can shoot that ball. He's special, for sure. Free that man, man. He'd be another good trade candidate. He'd be good in
Starting point is 00:48:03 Milwaukee. He'd be good in Milwaukee. He'd be good in some of these teams that need somebody off the bench that can get buckets. He'd be a bona fide scorer. He'd be one of those guys. For sure, man. Like you said, you don't got to do much for him. Just get out the way and let him cook. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:15 Quentin Grimes had a great two last games. He took care of the revenge game against the Knicks. He had 28 last night against the Blazers, man. Listen, like you talked about, the team was constructed to help Luka. The role players have been stepping up like they're supposed to, even when he was out helping Kyrie.
Starting point is 00:48:28 If they can keep playing like this, as we ain't said Clay Dame in a minute, obviously we know what's going on with that, but if they can figure that out and keep contributing like that, they're going to be a problem
Starting point is 00:48:35 in the West again. What's the best part of Luka's offensive game? His ability to create space. Like, he know how to create space. He know how to use his body so well. So he can always get to his step back because he can create space. Like, he know how to create space. He know how to use his body so well. So,
Starting point is 00:48:46 he can always get to his step back because he can create space. But then when he drives, he know how to use his body to create enough space where he can get any kind of shot off. Yeah. Like,
Starting point is 00:48:55 he's so slow and people still can't figure out, like, how does he score? How does he get mom? He know how to use his body so well. Create space and make contact at the rim.
Starting point is 00:49:06 He a great finisher, Pauls. But, like, he just got an overall game that's special, and it's all based off him being able to create space. And Pauls, he big as hell. Like, that makes it even worse. Like, he got all that. He know how to use his tempo. Like you said, use his body well.
Starting point is 00:49:21 Bro, you can't guard that. I was starting, when he was rookie year, he was starting at the point that Wesley Matthews was at the two, I think. But somehow, I started the game off on him. The game started.
Starting point is 00:49:34 I said, what the fuck? He went straight to the block. I'm like, this ain't going to work. D-Roll switched. I was like, D-Roll, I got him, I got him. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:42 He going to take that. He went to the post on him. D-Roll was like, hey, manose, I got him. I got him. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're going to take that. He went to the post on him. D-Rose was like, hey, man. Somebody else got to guard him, man. I was like, what the fuck? Damn. He too big, bro. That's crazy, man.
Starting point is 00:49:53 Post, yeah. Mavs doing it like they supposed to. Spurs secured the Kings yesterday. Won 27-125. A lot of close games yesterday, man. Wimby, trippy dub at 34. This shit, Wimby. He's starting to round on his.
Starting point is 00:50:04 He's starting to figure it out again. The 11 assists part is what stood out for me. Obviously, I ain't numb to you getting 34 and 11, but 11 assists as a big, yeah, bro. He's starting to figure it out. We got to call my Kings, guys. Man, I don't know what's going on, man. Let's get 11 assists on that team.
Starting point is 00:50:18 That's a hell of a game. What you trying to say? It's poo. That's the mad ass over there no I don't do them bad for real bro yeah they develop it
Starting point is 00:50:29 for sure yeah alright man couple games nice to see how y'all feeling heat at Celtics where y'all going
Starting point is 00:50:33 damn that's a good game heat heat at Celtics yeah heat going with the heat okay my Hawks been playing better too
Starting point is 00:50:41 what we in the what we in the East right now um 5-11 I got I got the Suns. I got JT with a big game. They bouncing back.
Starting point is 00:50:49 He killed yesterday, too. We didn't even talk about it. Slight 33. Pelicans at Hawks. Woo! We East 7th seed in the East right now, man. Hey, the East is spooky. I told y'all, I hate the East.
Starting point is 00:51:00 You are a three-game win streak from being out of the playoffs to top three seed. It's kind of crazy. That is wild. Like, man, we playing well right now. Jalen Johnson doing what he do. Trey starting to—he always plays great. I mean, his stats are already great, but they starting to round him to a cool team, man. Jalen Johnson should be an all-star.
Starting point is 00:51:16 He probably won't make it this year. Yeah. But he deserves to be an all-star. He does. He's getting the numbers for sure. He hooping. So you taking the Hawks in this game? For sure.
Starting point is 00:51:23 I got them, too. I feel like it's 85 points. Yeah, I got the Hawks in this game? For sure. I got them too. I feel like I can score 85 points. Yeah, I got the Hawks. And they went out last night. Damn, I got that. DeJounte Murray in my damn parlay. He is. Oh, he about to go crazy though.
Starting point is 00:51:37 He playing the Hawks. Revenge game. He probably over. Yeah, I got him hot tonight. Nets at Bulls. Nets. Nets. Lakers at Timberwolves. Letets. I'm talking to Nets.
Starting point is 00:51:47 Lakers at Timberwolves. Let's talk about them Timberwolves. If we had a chance to talk about them T-Wolves. Or me. What we got today? Hey, y'all want to know why we suck? I'll tell you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:01 Hey, he was wild. I told y'all, though, that locker room, though. I figured that's what it was. I figured. It's a lot of stuff with basketball. Yeah. He don y'all, though, that locker room, though. I figured that's what it was. I figured. It's a lot of stuff with basketball. Yeah, he don't. He miss Cat, bro. He miss his dog. The vibes was different, I know.
Starting point is 00:52:11 Because Cat allowed him to be him. They all knew each other. They all had years together. You know, that first year, Cat was, I mean, Ant came. They was sad. So they grew together. They all knew, got comfortable with one another everybody let
Starting point is 00:52:26 Ant be the man yeah it's different JR come over there talk about it we the man too now I ain't trying
Starting point is 00:52:33 to solidify myself around here too yeah and Dante you know he ain't happy at all I ain't talk to him but just from
Starting point is 00:52:41 the way he been playing the way it look he ain't wanna leave New York yeah so basically we need to go ahead and you know what I'm saying look for other trade options I ain't talk to him, but just from the way he's been playing, the way it look, he ain't want to leave New York. So basically, we need to go ahead and look for other trade options because I don't think they want to take this year as a watch, and you can't have your starters grunt on. When your stars talking like that, changes got to get made.
Starting point is 00:52:56 I don't know how soon, but something got to change. Yeah, Mike probably frustrated, too. Losing Kyle Anderson hurt them, too. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. He's another locker room guy, another good player for them. Him and Nas was a really,
Starting point is 00:53:09 really good front court to have for sure. Yeah. Bust them up, bro. Pause. Like, get the... Start over, man. Yeah, that's kind of tough
Starting point is 00:53:18 to go off a Western Conference finals trip to, you know what I'm saying, making some would say almost an ill-advised trade. So now it's like, all right, now those trade pieces that I got, I can't
Starting point is 00:53:26 even move nowhere else because... You got to go out. You got to thug it out the rest of the year. Hopefully they catch a stride for sure. They probably going to catch a little momentum. I think JR, I don't think Julius Randle and Anthony Davis are the problem. I think they probably cool. They just probably don't play well together.
Starting point is 00:53:41 But I think they probably cool off the court. It's like all the other pieces, I think. So, listen, man. Verified Buckets be here. Who was getting to it yesterday? Gotta give it to the old school, man. I call him Jimmy Hard, man. He's 39 and 11.
Starting point is 00:53:55 That's a crazy name, Jimmy Hard. Yeah, that's what I call him, man. Jimmy Hardin, bro. Oh, my fault. Jimmy Hardin, bro. Damn, I freaked my shit out. I didn't hear the Hardin. I was like, that's an interesting name.
Starting point is 00:54:06 Hey, and hold on. Shout out to the Verified Bucket. We love that segment of the show, but have something I want to say. Okay, yeah. To the person who clipped me, Trey Songz, and Diddy Up and put that on the internet and had us
Starting point is 00:54:22 basically like the Hendrix Experience birthday bash you out of pocket Tyrone Crow I think we know who did it dude you out of pocket brother not the Tyrone
Starting point is 00:54:35 he out of pocket that's a nasty pics dish yeah bro they did me dirty that's quality work right there somebody know the truth
Starting point is 00:54:44 chill out bro I'll never be in a room with them two niggas bro right there. Somebody know the truth. Chill out, bro. I've never been in a room with them two niggas, bro. You know it by spirit. I'm going to go old school Fred Van Fleet, man, 38 piece. Show them why you good, bro.
Starting point is 00:54:54 Fred ain't no old, yo. That old Fred like 31. That old Fred young. He just look old. He look like he been through a lot. My verified bucket is to my guy out there
Starting point is 00:55:04 in Canada, up north, what they call it, with the Kings. Since Drake been down bad, R.J. Barrett even picked it up. Shout out to R.J. Barrett getting 37. No lawsuits. I don't know how much he picked up for the team, but it was another fumble. Shout out to R.J., he kill it for sure.
Starting point is 00:55:24 Your favorite segment of the show, be here. Who needs some encouragement this Monday morning? Get well soon. Man, for sure it goes to Trevor Lawrence, bro. That was dirty. Yeah, we're not even going to joke about that.
Starting point is 00:55:32 Trevor Lawrence got killed yesterday. We talked about it a little bit on the podcast. It's dropping today at 12. But Trevor Lawrence got smacked yesterday, bro. If y'all playing football, is that y'all last day? Y'all my mama. What?
Starting point is 00:55:44 Health and safety protocols bro done but we saw the CTE happen to him bro in live motion bro they're gonna go back and be like
Starting point is 00:55:51 this is where it happened bro this was the inception bro that's some bullshit dude that was a dirty ass hit bro I don't care nobody that's a dirty ass hit man get out of pocket bro that was crazy
Starting point is 00:55:59 and they started squabbling after that shit too they was just like hell nah they should I ain't mean to cuss like that, but that was concerning. And especially in a sport like,
Starting point is 00:56:08 you know what I'm saying? You cheap show somebody a basketball, you gonna get up and play next position. Football, that's life altering type shit. Yeah, bro.
Starting point is 00:56:13 Y'all ain't see dude die, damn near die from that black school. You ain't see him here in the hospital. Everybody was saying he died. Yeah, they put out that report. Yeah, it's like,
Starting point is 00:56:22 he on life support. Now, I'm not too sure if this is true or not, but I do believe that he did end up passing away, unfortunately. I hope., they put out that report. Yeah, it's like he on life support. Now, I'm not too sure if this is true or not, but I do believe that he did end up passing away, unfortunately. I hope. But they put that report out. Please fact check me on this. I'm not 100% correct.
Starting point is 00:56:32 I don't want to put no death on nobody who ain't gone. But they had put out that he was gone before he was gone, which was crazy. But it came from football. Yeah. It's a dangerous sport. And then, like, see shit like that, you're like, bro, you can kill that man.
Starting point is 00:56:44 Yeah, bro. You wildin', bro. Yeah, completely out of pocket, man. That's why my kids, they ain't going to play. They ain't going to play. Put it all on the line. He didn't pass away? Yeah, unfortunately.
Starting point is 00:56:57 Yeah, all right. Not yet, for sure. But that's crazy. Did you put that out before the family? I can imagine a mix of emotions they had to deal with seeing that report, especially with it being so ill-advised. That's crazy, man. Yeah, for sure. But that's crazy. Like, did you put that out before the film? Like, I can imagine a mix of emotions they had to deal with seeing that report, especially with it being so ill-advised. That's crazy, man. Yeah, facts.
Starting point is 00:57:09 So, Mike Gilboa, some ghosts of the Wizards. They didn't win the game in November. Free everybody. Free everybody, bro. They smoke. They don't care. I know them hotel hallways.
Starting point is 00:57:20 It's lit. Good weed. Boy. All you hear is heels running down the hallway. Oh, man. It's crazy. In D.C.? Home game's litty.
Starting point is 00:57:30 Oh, the clubs are lit in D.C. right now. Them niggas, man. Jordan Poole. Free my dog, man. Free JP. Yeah, man. Get them out of there, man. They might be the worst franchise in the NBA.
Starting point is 00:57:44 Oh, that's clear. They might be the worst. That's clear. Oh, that's clear. They might be the worst. That's clear. I thought it was Toronto, but they have been the worst team for a long time. The Wizards have been bad, man. I don't think the Wizards had a good year since John Wallenham played us in, what was that? The Eastern Conference Finals?
Starting point is 00:58:01 Did we play John Wallenham? No. No, the semis. The semis. They went in the Conference Finals. Yeah, the semis. The semis. They weren't in the Conference Finals. Yeah, the semis. They ain't been good since maybe 17, 18. And that's why John Wall deserves all the respect that he gets as a legend in that city.
Starting point is 00:58:12 Him and Brad Beal, but especially John Wall put a lot of buckets. They had a lot of great season and they was custom too. I know Gil had it going for a second as well, but John Wall had the city lit. They was a 50-win team a couple times. Obviously, it's hard to come by in that city for sure. Best wizard ever, bro. Outside of MJ. Damn!
Starting point is 00:58:29 Who, John Wall? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, Wes also. I had that jersey. Yeah, he probably the greatest wizard. You going John Wall
Starting point is 00:58:37 over Gilbo? Yeah. Over Gil? Yeah. I think John Wall run was longer. Yeah, longer. Longer run.
Starting point is 00:58:44 Interesting. Player, I'm a... It's tough. Both, longer. Longer run. Interesting. Player, I'm going to— It's tough. Both of them fast. I don't know. Gilmore dynamic. But I can't say that because John Wall is special, too. Give me John.
Starting point is 00:58:56 As a wizard. I think Wes Unsell was the best wizard ever. I'm going to take John Wall a second. And then I'm going to go with my dog Gil third. How about a young Chris Webber? Them niggas look older than a bitch. All them niggas, man. Bernard King, them niggas was 20.
Starting point is 00:59:16 Bernard King was 21 in that picture. That nigga dude look like he's 46. I remember they showed Nate Thurman when he was 25. Bruh! That nigga looked at 44. There was them
Starting point is 00:59:32 afros, bro. It was the hairlines and the afros. That was crazy. He just got the Planet Pepsi job, bro. Pulled up the hoop. He was 25. Ain't no damn way. The 70s was crazy. The fact that women used to rock them Airfros, too, is nuts.
Starting point is 00:59:46 All right. They used to be a vibe. Shout out to Florida Depp. Yeah, Airfros was weak. Not cranking a bitch with no fro. Airfros was hella weak. The way we fro
Starting point is 00:59:54 in the Florida Depp is broke. Me either, bro. Weak. I should have just cut that off. I was watching Good Times the other day when they took the dad off
Starting point is 01:00:04 and the new nigga was trying to marry her. Damn, that's how it be too. I was like, it's an ugly show. Yeah, it ain't the same, bro. There's some ugly people on that show. JJ was ugly. I don't know these people dead,
Starting point is 01:00:18 but all of them was ugly. Yeah, they was trash. Those were trash cats. The casting was... We gonna find the ugliest black people and put them on TV. This is what life looked like. We wasn't that ugly,
Starting point is 01:00:30 fam. Bill Cosby cast was solid. Yeah, he had a variety. He had a variety. Felicia Rashad looked great, but look at this cast. Ooh.
Starting point is 01:00:39 They was ugly. Oh, look at that front. Look at that. That was it. Oh, damn. Did he pass away? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:50 Okay. John, RIP. He just passed away. He always look the same. Remember all girls, the youngster caught him on the eye and said he went to sleep and she put that thing on him? Shout out to Mike.
Starting point is 01:01:03 That's him? Oh, he out of pocket damn nigga Lord damn who's that damn damn Thelma was cool what yeah Thelma
Starting point is 01:01:13 hold on Mike go back to them leather pants Thelma was cool yeah Thelma she was the only cool Thelma ain't bad yeah she's the only cool
Starting point is 01:01:22 everybody else was shot we had them yeti. Janet Jackson. But we a shit kid. Janet Jackson. You know what that is. Janet Jackson. Pressure.
Starting point is 01:01:33 On the podcast, we're going to have to go through a power rankings of the undercats. I know, but I just want to ask y'all. Janet Jackson or Jennifer Lopez? Shayla. What are we talking about? Wow. I'm going to hear it for him. He's a racist. Janet Jackson is... For her to be that old, bro, she raw, bro.
Starting point is 01:01:49 She is, but she kept changing her nose. Yeah, she played with it too much. Yeah, if she would have kept her nose after Nutty Professor, if she would have kept her nose from Nutty Professor, she was straight. Facts. She's raw. When she kept going, like, she chopped that motherfucker off. J-Lo is different.
Starting point is 01:02:05 Yeah, it got a little bit off. J-Lo. Yeah, it got a little bit different later in the years for, yeah, I'm cool. But young Janet was the name. Mike playing in our face right now.
Starting point is 01:02:12 That's the type of name, he always do that. He did that with the Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce thing too. Man, what did we do? I forgot to say 520.
Starting point is 01:02:20 It's 520 to the border. That's a podcast topic. We're going to talk about that later. Sorry guys. All good, listen, another great episode of Cleo 520 drops today morning.
