Starting point is 00:03:45 You know, these was better, though. Oh, jeez, man. Low top. You know how I do, bro. Real smooth. I see you been in a low top one. Yeah, I'm going to keep wearing low tops for a minute. Out the gate, summertime.
Starting point is 00:03:57 Hey, man, we got a special guest in the building. You know what I'm saying? The future of the city. The man that a lot of people have a lot of faith and excitement about because he's that fucking good and he's gonna take the city to the next level we got the quarterback at a coast my man anthony richard ar5 appreciate you pulling up my boy appreciate you coming bro man it's so
Starting point is 00:04:17 bob hey man listen dog we ain't had a quarterback to look like us in this city it's a blessing to have you man we appreciate you man how's your living man how's that been treating you so far no man i love not uh something to get cold but ah yeah don't worry about that ah you know what your first winter here yeah it was negative eight all right i've never been under 15. yeah yeah welcome welcome to the meal with us yeah if you get real spooky out here for sure, man. Yeah, for sure. It's getting real spooky out here, for sure. Obviously, man, we know what you do for a living, but also, you know, you get active on the court, man.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Yeah, a little bit. Shout out to my boy, Jay. You know what I'm saying? The highlights of you in the YMCA going crazy. What's up with it? You grew up hooping a little bit? Man, yeah. I grew up hooping with some of my homies,
Starting point is 00:05:01 but when I be in the Y, man, I just be chilling, man. I don't even really be trying for it. Nah, you be looking like LeBron. Yo, Highlight Reel is crazy. All his life type is silly. Off the windmill.
Starting point is 00:05:14 I'm like, the one foot bounce is nuts, bro. What position did you play in high school? One through five. Like me?
Starting point is 00:05:22 Five? Hey, he ain't playing that much. What was, what, hold on. He's in the stretch forward. Wait, wait, wait, no. I'm telling you. what was your number what number you were i wore three different numbers i wore 214 and 21 come on man my 21 sorter guy is my number child's and arius day two that went toSU. Do you know who that was? He went to, uh... Yeah, he from Williston, man. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Yeah. He went to LSU, I believe. He was called back in the day. I done seen him hoop in person a few times.
Starting point is 00:05:53 I think we had to play against him. Oh, okay. Yeah, I think bro went to IMG, too. Yeah. High school, my shit. Since we talking
Starting point is 00:06:01 about hoops. Yeah. How many people do you think are playing the NBA and the NFL? You think? They hadops. Yeah. How many people do you think are playing the NBA and the NFL? You think? They had that debate going.
Starting point is 00:06:08 How many people in the NBA are playing the NFL? You think they can translate? And what position? I know I could have been a silly DB. That's just me. My feet like this. What?
Starting point is 00:06:19 You ain't seen my feet? Nah. Are you crazy? Hips is crazy, folks. That is nuts. Yeah, I got the hips. Oh christ just say it bro feet work like that i don't know man because you got a bunch of different positions so you gotta you gotta specify for me because everybody probably let's just say they could be a wide out athlete most of the basketball players about six three and up yeah
Starting point is 00:06:44 they could be a decent wide out they probably all warm about four fives four six in that range you don't think they run four five and four six that's that's actually moving a little bit no they can move bro what you know trust me bro i run like Okay, I can believe that. Yeah, but it's people that fascinate me like Anthony Edwards definitely run like a 4-5. Yeah. Easy.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Yeah, for sure. He can't play football. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's crazy. He thinks he translates better to basketball to football than vice versa. Then a football player
Starting point is 00:07:22 trying to hoop in the, you know, at a high level. See, every football player trying to hoop and, you know, at a high level. See, every football player can't hoop, but I don't really think
Starting point is 00:07:31 basketball players like, are as physical for the, for the sport. You feel me? Not at all. I 100% agree.
Starting point is 00:07:40 EJ still want to tackle that name. He still want to tackle it. Look, I told him. It was. EJ, EJ, EJ. I told him football man flag i could get up i could catch a pass on him and he said i'm blessed you catch the ball so you won't play football yeah i said bro it's flag bro you can't tackle me for sure
Starting point is 00:07:57 man obviously growing up in florida was just a mecca of football um for you going crazy in high school how easy was it for you to decide where you wanted to go to college at? Because I'm sure, obviously, you had everybody wanting you to pull up. Nah, I ain't had everybody. I probably had like 19, 18 offers. Damn, nigga. I mean, that's a decent amount. You know, I'm not knocking it or nothing.
Starting point is 00:08:23 But most of the quarterbacks in my class, they had like 30 plus. Damn. So I really felt like I was slept on a decent amount. I'm not knocking it or nothing, but most of the quarterbacks in my class, they had like 30 plus. Damn. So I really felt like I was slept on a little bit, but I mean, choosing a college wasn't necessarily too hard for me. I knew I didn't want to be nowhere cold because I'm from Florida,
Starting point is 00:08:37 and I didn't want to be too far from my family. So it's really just trying to pick the right school. And then Florida was the only school talking about education anyway. So I was like, why not just stay at the crib? That's dope. It's hard. For sure.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Lineage of a great school. You know what I'm saying? We talk about the Florida Gator days, especially of our recent, we a little bit older than you, but the Tebow days. And then it was the Glory days for sure. For sure. I was hearing about that, man. Nah, that.
Starting point is 00:09:03 Look, we talk about all the time, some of the best college teams of all time, that T-Bone squad they had, wasn't it? Percy Harvin? Come on, bro. Yeah. Did that weigh on
Starting point is 00:09:11 your decision, though? Like, the history of the school, or was it more so like the coaching staff? Like, what led you to Florida? Nah, it was really
Starting point is 00:09:19 like the staff, you know, and then, you know, it's a great school to get an education from, so I was like, that's a plus. The main thing I was really looking at was how fast I can get on the field. I might have a chance to get out there early.
Starting point is 00:09:32 So why not go to a school instead of trying to sit for two years? Yeah. So, like, when they recruit you in football, because I know in basketball, that's the thing, you want to play as a freshman. Like, when you go to football, do they tell you, like, yo, you're not going to play your freshman year? During go to football do they tell you like yo you're not gonna play your freshman year or during recruiting nah they'll never tell you i went to you sign the line they let you know pretty much oh that's crazy that's why i couldn't that's why i can't play football but i mean especially in the league he was in you know
Starting point is 00:09:57 i'm saying that that's different no i mean you gotta it's a learning curve for sure but like i feel like if you good enough i I mean, that lets you know like, if you come in and do what you gotta do, then you got a chance to play. But they're not gonna tell you like, oh, you're not gonna play. Yeah, I need a guarantee.
Starting point is 00:10:13 I mean, if you go to the USA and you behind Reggie Bush, nigga, sit down. Straight up. Wait your turn. That's why I would've been at Marshall.
Starting point is 00:10:22 Cause I would've said nothing if I was sitting behind Reggie Bush, bro. I would've been like, nah, I'm gonna play at Marshall. Until you get to practice and would have said nothing I'm sitting behind Reggie Bush bro I would have been like Nah I'm going to play at Marshall Until you get to practice You realize Oh yeah that's Reggie Bush They got to play him today
Starting point is 00:10:30 Nah I'm going to Marshall Because I ain't going to waste my time I want to play immediately I couldn't do that Like I respect everybody Who can like red shirt and stuff I respect it I mean
Starting point is 00:10:40 For basketball it's different Because If I was hooping I want to guarantee A spot on the court. Yeah, fair. Football, you got to learn a new system. You got to learn new workouts, new bunch of stuff. And there's a bunch of people on the team anyway.
Starting point is 00:10:55 They don't guarantee some of this stuff to other players anyway. So it's like. And they be big already. So it's like sometimes you got to sit down and just be quiet. For sure. I was going to ask you that, obviously, how was your transition
Starting point is 00:11:09 going into college? You know what I'm saying? You get comfortable with the high school age. I'm like that. Now you in a new age and you in a real conference in football.
Starting point is 00:11:16 How was that transition going? Like you said, obviously, I know I had a size when you paused, but then you had to go in there and deal with them. They was already grown men
Starting point is 00:11:23 in that situation in 1920 because they had them workouts. Yeah. I got to Florida when I was 17. I was already pretty big from my side. I was already like 6'3", 220, 230. So it was like I was already big. That didn't matter.
Starting point is 00:11:38 But football always going to be football to me. You feel me? So I don't care what league i'm in i don't care how fast the other person is ball gonna always be ball because i've been playing since i was just so it's like it ain't nothing too crazy but it was a little different than my first time stepping out there it's like all right these lights bright for real yeah facts facts man 230 at 17 bro i'm saying bro you think your life was 160? You think you was about to go to Florida fucking with
Starting point is 00:12:08 A. Richard Hill, bitch? I was 155 when I graduated high school. Were you the first kid with 15? Did you play defense in high school, too? Nah, they didn't let me. I always played quarterback in safety. When I got to high school, they was like, we need you at quarterbacks.
Starting point is 00:12:23 You can't play safety. What's your favorite quarterbacks. Mm. Appreciate it. You can't play safety. What's some of your favorite quarterbacks? Number one, Cam. Okay. That's dope. See that? That's my dog. Lamar, definitely.
Starting point is 00:12:33 Go. Vic, for sure. For sure. I like Josh Allen a lot. I like A-Rod a lot. Mm. Man, I can really keep going. For sure.
Starting point is 00:12:41 You a fan of the game. Yeah. Man, I was thinking about this the other day, looking at some old Madden covers and stuff like that. I was like, some of the black quarterbacks that don't get spoken enough. Dog, Steve McDare was one of the coldest that don't get talked about enough. Yeah, he was nice. I've been hearing a little bit about him.
Starting point is 00:12:55 Bro, one of the coldest. I had this jersey. I wore that motherfucker every day. Don't say nothing. And we ain't going to start. I ain't had no gear, bro. Nah, I just been talking. I was talking, bro.
Starting point is 00:13:04 I love Mama T. It was a lot of y'all bro y'all was a real brady brunch bro the black guy bro the steve mcnerney jersey or the fubu jersey which one no that 92 jersey it's crazy see see a rich too young for that he ain't know nothing about that you don't need to see that people was already swaggy by the time like you became like 14 15 y'all was already geared like yeah we had they go in the prime they suits tailored they got designer shoes my super prime was a 4x kng model no facts bro my suit was 4x bro you wanted it like that yeah that's how we wore our clothes back then hey all right that's the jersey. Yeah. That's the one you wore. He wore that to prom.
Starting point is 00:13:49 He got you. He got you. Right, he wore that to prom. My suit was a 4X, though. Yeah, bro. We wore our clothes big back in the day. I don't know if these was a 42. That ain't it, though.
Starting point is 00:13:57 Nah, it wasn't. It wasn't. Trust me, it wasn't. That's what I said. Y'all fashion is way, way better than ours, bro. I'm going to try to pull out a suit like that one day. Nah, don't do that, bro. Nah, you know.
Starting point is 00:14:08 Try to bring it on. Me, it probably won't be that crazy right now. Baggy clothes coming back in. What we was doing was absurd. I was 155, had 42 jeans, bro. Yeah. Niggas was hooping 4X, 5X t-shirts under their jerseys. That was real, yo.
Starting point is 00:14:21 Yeah. For real. It was nasty work, but that was the time. If you bored one day bro go check out Soulja Boy videos back in life I used to always watch that Soulja Boy
Starting point is 00:14:28 yeah go see how long your shirts was I seen it yeah that was a that was hard it was a nasty time nasty very nasty time
Starting point is 00:14:34 that ain't lit nah fucks it'd be so so funny listening to people his age talk about us they'd be so
Starting point is 00:14:42 disappointed in us he was hurt when y'all said I had a 4X. He looked back and was like, I don't wear 4X now. I would never, like, wouldn't legally go put on
Starting point is 00:14:52 a 4X. That's my fault, bro. I was bugging, bro. Oh, man. But obviously, man, you know what I'm saying? You adjusted and went crazy. I gotta ask you,
Starting point is 00:15:02 your last year at Florida, how was that? Because, you know what I'm saying? A lot of people, like, people obviously recognize how talented you were how good you were and a lot of people like you said slept on you and then as the season progresses and now it's time season's ending draft wars is coming and now your name is like shooting to the top where you're like i should have already been there but like everybody's waking up to you how was that feeling to start like no saying get some of the recognition from the fruits of your labor,
Starting point is 00:15:25 at the same time still kind of slighting you? Man, I ain't going to lie. My whole career at Florida was a little different. My first year, of course, I got a red shirt. I only played four games. My first career pass was an interception. One of my first career runs was a fumble. So it was a little rocky already.
Starting point is 00:15:44 But last game of the season, they threw me out there. We was getting whooped by Oklahoma, losing by 30. Threw my first touchdown. I'm like, I'm cheesing. Yeah, I'm down like 30. Everybody like, are you good? I'm like, yeah, I just threw a touchdown. So that kind of set it up for me.
Starting point is 00:16:00 And I was like, okay, this next year I got a chance. I'm going to be a starting quarterback. And my dog e you know uh he was a year dog too so you know me and him competing every every day and he won the job they're like cool you gonna you're gonna get in y'all gonna split time a little bit so i'm like cool and i started pulling my hammies never pulled my hammies before i'm like bro what's going on so played a few games that year they messed around and threw me out there to start against georgia number one defense in the country
Starting point is 00:16:31 like statistically everywhere it's like man first game left that game early with a concussion so i'm like bro something ain't something ain't right And I messed my knee up. I had to have surgery at the end of the season. So my third year, had a new coaching staff. I told him, I say, man, I'm going to see how this spring go. But if it ain't it, I'm out of here. You know, so they was like, all right, we understand. Because I was going to have to learn a new offense and stuff. And I was like, man, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:17:05 and I'm coming off a knee surgery. I might not be able to run the same, but, you know, I stuck with it. You know what I'm saying? My family was there to support me. I had the guys with me all the time. They were supporting me. They were turning up at the games. But finally, like, that end of that year,
Starting point is 00:17:23 I already knew I wasn't going to be at Florida again. You know, whether I did declare or not, I wasn't going to be there again. Because I just felt like I just needed a change, something new for me. But I declared because I was hearing I can get drafted first round, second round. I'm like, who don't want to get drafted first or second round? That's fucking right. You know what I'm saying? I just better myself.
Starting point is 00:17:45 My name, my deal. And I already knew I was going to do me. Everybody's going to finally start waking up and seeing who I was. So everything just falls in line. No side of God. For sure. And that was a fire part, like you said, dealing with the diversity that you dealt with.
Starting point is 00:17:58 But your skill and ability was always there. No matter what happened, it was just needed to be recognized at the right time. And that's what the fire part about it was. Like you the people who were skeptical about it it's like we didn't see enough we didn't see enough but then we saw you actually work they saw you do your shit like it's undeniable so that was like dope to see and then obviously we're gonna go too far but like you coming here bro means so much i know you probably hear that shit a lot but for this city and the people that look like us and the representation that happens, we don't get that to happen a lot here.
Starting point is 00:18:26 So for that to happen, for you to come here, it's crazy. But definitely got to talk about that process, man. Did you even know that you was going to be in Indianapolis? Obviously, maybe not, but did you have a thought about that? Man, you know, it's crazy. So before I even declared, everybody was like, oh, bro, you might end up in Indy. You might end up in Indy. And I'm like, mm. like, oh, bro, you might end up in Indy. You might end up in Indy. And I'm like, mm.
Starting point is 00:18:47 I'm like, okay, cool. I'm hearing they need a quarterback. But it was like five other teams that needed QBs too. So I'm like, all right, bet. We'll see. Training keep going. I just keep hearing more and more. I'm like, all right, this might actually happen.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Then I started hearing more about other teams. So I'm like, all right. So I see how this is going to go. I just don't know where I'm going to end up. And I thought I was going number one. I swear I did. My agent told me, you know what I'm saying, they're moving around. They're doing certain stuff.
Starting point is 00:19:15 So, you know what I'm saying, they might get you. So I'm like, all right, cool. You know what I'm saying, first round, number one pick. That's crazy. Like, why not? Boom. But, man, we got closer to the drive and we at the drive like two or three days before the drive and like i'm like bro i didn't hear no call from
Starting point is 00:19:32 carolina yet i'm like i'm not going to you know i'm telling i'm like bro i'm not going number one it's like you don't know you don't know just just chill i'm like all right bro so the day of the job they had a little hats set up or whatever and then one of the running backs had them like messed up one of the hats it was b john messed up one of the hats it was an indie hat my mom went over there to take pictures with the other qb moms and she fixed the hat i'm sitting there watching her and she's fixing the hat so i'm like i'm like man something right and she was the only person that seen the hat i'm sitting there watching her and she's fixing the hat so i'm like i'm like man something right and she was the only person i seen the hat that was messed up and she don't when i fixed it i'm like all right i might mess around i do end up in indy for real that's your praise that's
Starting point is 00:20:16 current that fourth pick came well even before the fourth pick the third pick that's what we was really worried about though because we kept hearing people was going to trade up and try to grab me. Then Houston got that pick. I looked at my phone. I said, we going to Indy. That was that. Happy to have you, dog. That's fire, bro.
Starting point is 00:20:35 That's fire. That's crazy. Without a ball, it's just a court. Without your spirit, it's only a game. So together with the fans, we bring our best. What Vets Grab, you know, brought you in and showed you the ropes a little bit. Any Vets that hollered at you as soon as you walked in the building? Man, man. EJ Speed is out here. Shout out to my dogs. And my guy Shaq, first day got it it was like
Starting point is 00:26:28 no we rocking with you yeah we believe in you no don't do too much you know what i'm saying just come here and be you i was like you know what i'm saying say less hell yeah all i gotta do is come here and be me not do too much yeah they just been showing love every say that's family bro. We fuck with the trenches tomorrow That's the dogs What's that like like leading men though? Like I've kind of been a similar situation you not as important because it's so basketball is a little different I mean quarterback, you know it is Yeah, everybody not everybody can play point guard, but we get a share of me PT pretty much QB as well
Starting point is 00:27:04 Yeah, but we get a shared duties. I mean, PT pretty much QB as well. Yeah, but you get shared duties. Like, you can have a two-guard bring the rock up. Yeah, yeah. But as a quarterback, you the focal point. You make shit happen on offense. What's that like leading men as a young rookie? Vets looking to you? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:20 It was a little different at first. When I first got here, I was only 20 years old. Yeah. So it was like, dang, you got people here, four kids. I feel you. Wife that been in the league for 11 years. Yeah, responsibilities. It's like, I'm supposed to tell this grown man what to do
Starting point is 00:27:38 if he ain't doing it the right way. You know what I'm saying? So I just sat back. Of course, I'm a Q qb so they don't they don't listen you know if i say something a little bit but now that i know i said i've been been here for a year i'm saying they they respect me a lot more but when i first came in it wasn't necessarily me trying to like boss people around i know my position i know everybody gonna have eyes on me and they want to listen to me. But I was a rookie.
Starting point is 00:28:05 I'm young. I was 20 years old. So it's like you got to sit back and learn sometimes. So that's what I was really doing, just sitting back, you know what I'm saying, talking to Z, talking to Speed, talking to Buck, you know what I'm saying, talking to the vet guys. I done been here, done it already. Just get some advice.
Starting point is 00:28:20 You know what I'm saying? They just let me know. I ain't got to do it too much. And the fire part about that is, you know what I'm saying, obviously the respect is reciprocated. You look at people like you, you look at people like Anthony Edwards, like for him to be that age in that locker room, and they listen to him, for you to be your age in that locker room,
Starting point is 00:28:36 and they respect what you do because they know you put the work in. It's dope as fuck to see. I got to ask, how was it that first game? You know what I'm saying? You building up to this moment, want to make it to the league. Now you got your first game. How was that feeling? First game was was late I ain't lie running out of the tunnel I swear I never felt anything like that before like damn they felt like a real movie scene like I'm just jumping around
Starting point is 00:28:58 looking in the stands I'm like damn I'm really here yeah yeah so it was lit but I had a little bit of nerves. I ain't going to lie because it's like NFL, first game, young quarterback. It's like everybody trying to see what I'm going to do. So the old me, I used to always try to be Superman on the field. I'm trying to make every play. Every play I make got to be a big play. So as a quarterback, you just got to learn how to manage the game.
Starting point is 00:29:24 And that was really what I was trying to do. I just do my job and not do too play. So as a quarterback, you just got to learn how to manage the game. And that was really what I was trying to do. You know what I'm saying? Just do my job and not do too much. So it was cool. And once I got that first one, then I was like,
Starting point is 00:29:31 all right, I can do this. For sure. How was that adjustment? Like, obviously, you know what I'm saying? You played the big time league in college and then coming to the pros,
Starting point is 00:29:37 you're just like, all right, everybody ain't as good as me, but they damn sure close. How was that adjustment? Even with like training camp and stuff like that, like dealing with your skill set against a new set of type of players
Starting point is 00:29:47 see playing in the nfl i feel like it's easier than college for real because like in college you got like you got players that's like they good they know they're good but they're not as confident you know what i'm saying they gotta rely on other players to do this for them to do that but in the league everybody
Starting point is 00:30:10 trying to work to stay in the league you know what I'm saying trying to keep their job everybody trying to ball out for sure so that just let me know
Starting point is 00:30:17 I ain't gotta do too much I just gotta do my job hell yeah and he gonna do his job it's gonna work but the adjustment man my first my first practice with the Vets was rough.
Starting point is 00:30:28 I threw like three interceptions. I'm just like, man, these dudes fast. That speed, bro. So I had to get my mind right. But it didn't take too long to adjust. For sure. That's funny because you talk about that with Kyle Shue. He was just like like the nba was
Starting point is 00:30:45 like the spacing and stuff the difference in the game was kind of easy to adjust that way and to hear that in football is very interesting because like you said everybody in the league cold everybody cold but the challenge is that everybody's cold at the position they fast everybody's great but they like you said everybody on your team is great too and they working so it make your job a little easier but it definitely a little easier. But it's definitely a little different in college, though. I remember that. Because sometimes in college, you got a couple guys that's there just for school.
Starting point is 00:31:12 Like, I'm playing this sport to get my degree. I'm going to be an accountant. So they don't put the same amount of effort in as a dude that's in the NFL. So I understand. But my question was, I like to have fun. I play mad. You play mad? Nah, bro.
Starting point is 00:31:29 Bro, what? I used to. I used to a lot, but. You ain't play with your paws. You ain't soup yourself up, bro. I wouldn't. Why you start doing emotions, though, bro? Just talk, fam.
Starting point is 00:31:40 I'm saying, bro, you ain't pick your foot, bro. You out of pocket. That didn't hit me crazy. I had words, but I better even be in the game, fam. You know what I'm saying, bro? You ain't picking a player, bro. You out of pocket. That didn't hit me crazy. I had words, but I better even be in the game, man. I feel you. Y'all got way more film session than I do. I will. Oh, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:31:54 I mean, I got time to play the game, but when I be having free time, I be trying to rest, boy, because I be tired. I feel you. You heard my boy say, DoorDash, look, he works so hard. He got to eat. DoorDash is essential to his lifestyle Anthony Richard loves DoorDash
Starting point is 00:32:07 every day that's the cat right there telling me every single day I DoorDash tap in screenshot that
Starting point is 00:32:14 balance nasty show him DoorDash every day me and him we hey listen we can do a commercial
Starting point is 00:32:20 together DoorDash we did one before we do two spend a block spend a block. Spend a block. I wanted to ask you though, when did you start rapping, bro? 2022. A couple of my homies, they rap. They been doing it way before I was doing it. And one day I just went into the studio session with them. And I'm like, man, y'all didn't even
Starting point is 00:32:41 let me get on the song. But I was just playing. And they was like, all right, bet. I'm like, man, y'all didn't let me get on the song, but I was just playing. They was like, all right, bet. So I did it. I'm like, all right, this feels kind of good. I don't really be talking that much. I really be in chill mode. But music just let me express how I feel. I ain't got to talk to nobody to do it. I just go rapping. Yeah, you're touching up. Listen, dog. When I saw you and I saw the music videos,
Starting point is 00:33:07 I was like, oh, this about to be the quarterback in that? It's fucking up. Dog, we had Phillip Rivers. He had 85 kids. We got somebody on YouTube
Starting point is 00:33:15 getting a crack at it. I was all in. We needed for the city. Who you listen to for the game? Him? Yeah. He just started, dog. No, no.
Starting point is 00:33:23 Last year. Last year. I would would listen to yourself right before you play it's crazy that ain't crazy i was i was doing that in college so you was rapping before then though oh yeah yeah that's what i mean yeah because we thought you being like 2022 is when you first i'm talking when you first it's a studio anyway oh 2022. oh okay well just rapping just messing around before okay cool cool but yeah no i it really depends on how i'm feeling though before the game i'm trying to turn out then you know what i'm saying i i gotta find somebody
Starting point is 00:34:00 to turn up to but i really just be trying to to chill. Most of the time, I listen to myself, you know what I'm saying? Because I listen to my music. It motivates me more because I would be talking about my life, you know, what I've been through and stuff. So it's like, all right, this is why I hit balling. So just keep it going. You got a tape dropper? Soon, probably not.
Starting point is 00:34:20 But give me like, give me a few more. So I got you. Respect, bro. Because I've been meaning to, you know what I'm saying, get back in the studio, but I've been so tired. I feel you, man. You're locked in, for sure. We had a guest say he listened to Usher before the games.
Starting point is 00:34:34 Shout out to Rondo. He out of pocket. I know he's a goddamn liar, the way he at. Usher? Yeah, Ray John Rondo. Said he listened to Usher. That's why I asked you what you you even before growing up like what was your go-to your headphones oh man you're a florida boy i didn't know if anybody down there kodak
Starting point is 00:34:53 of course you gotta listen to yak all the time yeah wow i was a big uzi fan for a while okay then i low-key transitioned to no cap and and then, of course, I listen to Gunna all the time. They always be in rotation. No Cap cold. The new Gunna tape I ate, too. It is. No, it's fire. It's fire, though.
Starting point is 00:35:16 And then he's his. Nah, because I rock with Jeffrey. You know what I mean? Jeffrey, my dog. Nah, he's not Jeffrey. That's my guy. So, he's not Jeffrey. Jeff. That's my guy. So it's slime. Nah.
Starting point is 00:35:30 He's trying to get me indicted. Look what he own, bro. He's working it out. That's the John St. Puerto Rico. Nah, I'm just playing. Free, John. Free. He's trying to get me with the Rico Charter.
Starting point is 00:35:41 You out of pocket. All right, man. So I got to ask, how was your first time touching down in that, man? First day, it was after the draft. Got here, it was raining. Seeing them cornfields. Yeah. I'm like,
Starting point is 00:35:56 they ain't where everything at. I'm like, where everything at? What's up with this place? You know what I'm saying? I traveled around a little bit. I'm like, okay, this is a chill place. It ain't one of those places where you got to come here and be all flashy and stuff.
Starting point is 00:36:12 You can just be yourself with this vibe. So, hell yeah. I love this place. Thanks. Real good place to get your money and stay out of the way. Yeah, chill. Absolutely. And the crazy thing about the city is that, like, it's good.
Starting point is 00:36:25 I mean, no matter what the Pacers do, the way that the Colts season goes affects so much in the city and it'd be crazy because they don't even got to be a good season if everybody feel happy or positive about the shit the city is different for like six or seven months man when we was going through it here it was real sad it was real sad it was real sad dog but even last year man you know i'm saying obviously you coming in you know what I'm saying? Obviously, you coming in, unfortunately, with the injuries, still getting the rest to get ready for next year. The promise, like, of the team you brought was so happy for the city, like, especially with you, you know what I'm saying? Like, Kaelin and Leah Boston and, like, Tyrese.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Like, the city got new people to, like, really push and be happy about, like, your talent. So, that's fire. But I got to ask, you know what I'm saying? After playing a little bit last year, you know what I'm saying? Then watching from the side, how do you feel so far about like coming into the next season like being able to say all right i had a small sample size but i know what i'm capable of or i saw what they was that's crazy The real journalism. Why am I here?
Starting point is 00:37:25 Because the movie like this. So, all right. Come on, my boy. I ain't going to do that. Hey, man. He's six. I got to chill, man. Look at my coworkers, man.
Starting point is 00:37:35 Hey, man. I'm geeked for next season, man. I ain't even a Colts fan, but all my friends and family are Colts fans. Listen, I'm from the city. Born and raised. You know what I'm saying? from the city born and raised you know i'm saying i when the coach win it makes me happy my friends is happy in the group chat they want to barbecue it's a good time saying mad as hell in the group chat on monday but i've been a cowboys fan since i was sick so unfortunately he's been disappointed for so long i've been living with heartbreak a
Starting point is 00:37:58 long time have some sympathy for me bro i can't jump games though it is what it is unfortunately but i support y'all you know i got I'm saying? I got my support and respect. You know, I'm locked in. I got the coach. I'm off. I'm far from getting that name. Yeah, I got it. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:38:11 Wait, wait, wait. Tell him the name Five Coast Warriors. He can do it. Yeah. Ask him. Not you. Name Five. Zaire.
Starting point is 00:38:20 Speed. You talking about all time? Forever. Just do it forever. Luck. Since they had the film, it's with the one thing. Pay you money. Don't do that.
Starting point is 00:38:31 That's fine. Reggie Wayne. I keep going. Dallas Clark. I'm going to keep going. Pierre Garcon. He looked like that runner back from, what was the runner back? Joe Suddai. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:43 I was locked in What you talking about He didn't say JT He looked like Joe A for sure Yeah JT Ah yeah I forgot about him I'm glad he back though Yeah
Starting point is 00:38:53 That run game gonna be crazy Yeah I'm gonna pull up Coach is back black again So I'm supporting Me and Dr. Umar We'll be in the tennis You said back black
Starting point is 00:39:02 Nevermind We got him here We came here No no no I'm just saying I'm talking about We got a quarterback We gotta get Dr. Umar will be in attendance. You said back, back. Never mind. We got him here. We came here. No, no, no. I'm just saying, like, I'm talking about we got a quarterback. We got to get Dr. Umar and Anthony Richards. Y'all got more of what I like to see. You feel me?
Starting point is 00:39:12 More of my people. What's my boy's name, bro? I can relate to y'all. What's my boy's name, bro? What's my boy's name? I don't know. He going to say, what's my boy's name? Is that his name?
Starting point is 00:39:22 Because I'll be saying it. It's a raggedy name. That's crazy, man. That's crazy. I'm a fan of it. I can name you a whole bunch of girls. I've been watching girls my whole Dave. Is that his name? Because I be saying it. It's a raggedy name. That's crazy, man. That's crazy. I'm a fan of him. I can name you a whole bunch of coaches. I've been watching coaches my whole life.
Starting point is 00:39:29 What's my guy with the VCU? I always say his name. Mo. There you go. Shout out to Mo. I seen your tape the other day. Mo can really hoop.
Starting point is 00:39:38 Yeah, for real. Mo is special, for sure. He can hoop. All right, so obviously, if you got to run a five at the YHL teammates, who you pulling up with oh shit
Starting point is 00:39:47 Mo yeah Mo for sure not Speed I know Speed see we're not doing my guys have you seen Speed Speed mixtape
Starting point is 00:39:55 no on the charity game nasty work we're not doing we're not doing AJ like that don't know who was to you bro
Starting point is 00:40:02 let let A-Rish pick your five, bro. We're not doing my guys like that. Yeah, get your five. Get my five. All right. Five.
Starting point is 00:40:09 Let's see. I got to get Mo. Of course, I'm in there. Probably get Julian. Julian, the shooter. Okay. Shout out to JoJo. Need.
Starting point is 00:40:21 Shag don't hoop. He's not on the team anymore. Oh, okay. Yeah, I don't know if Shag hoop, though. Neat. Shag don't hoop. He's not on the team anymore, sir. Oh, okay. Yeah, I don't know if Shag hoop, though. Two more. I'll get that low. Okay. That low hoop.
Starting point is 00:40:35 One more. Let me see. Ayer, he left you off. I see he left you off. Z is a football player. For sure. He'll tell you that. For sure. I think he'll tell you that. Z is a football player for sure he'll tell you that for sure
Starting point is 00:40:47 I think he'll tell you that but speed is where he can hoop you're not doing my guys like that I love them though I mean yeah the fifth could be speed
Starting point is 00:40:57 he claims such a hooper so why not we're gonna see you as mixed up 6'4 6'4 center for my nigga at center set some screens for a rich speed player. That's a hell of a pick and roll speed.
Starting point is 00:41:11 Speed really speed speaker. My nigga, he was rusty. He got a nice form speed. He just rough. The basketball looks like a nerf ball. My nigga. So it was a little,
Starting point is 00:41:24 I was shooting up. Oh, he was shooting it so hard. But I feel like he could be a. Rasheed Wallace is out of pocket. Like a Ben Wallace. Yeah, Ben Wallace. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:32 You call him Ben Wallace instead of Rasheed? Yeah. That's a hell of a. No, Rasheed is. Rasheed is a finesse. My nigga's a bruiser. So he'll hold the paint down. For sure.
Starting point is 00:41:42 For sure. But obviously, man, you played in the division now afc south it's a lot of crazy robberies going on i know i'm saying i've been seeing a lot of talk going on yeah we're talking about it for the city we don't matter if we co-spend it's not he's not talking down the city i see cj out there you know i'm saying he had a good year last year popping the shit but i want people to forget you know saying you on the way back and it's up this year. Yeah. I've been seeing the talk. I know you're not going to do that, but I want to know. We got one like that here in the city, too.
Starting point is 00:42:09 Let Speed do all the talking. You ain't got to say nothing. Speed on that. Yeah. I love it, though. But one thing I wanted to talk about is, like, you know what I'm saying? The best part about this age of sports is, like, y'all having a platform to be able to speak if y'all want to and stuff like that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:24 I think that that's absolutely fire for the young quarterbacks especially like for him michael parsons to be able to talk about the games because to hear y'all perspective from stuff is so dope like even with you um to hear your perspective about stuff that a lot of people wouldn't understand who actually know the game i think it's fire to see like how was it for you to be able to know i'm saying like to see that type of representation there because a lot of times it was up to the media to say stuff and they can say a whole bunch of stupid stuff and you just be like I just had a bad day like I just had a bad game.
Starting point is 00:42:51 Now I like the fact that we're able to know I'm saying speak up. We can say how we feel and people are like okay cool like I understand that now whereas before you know you can't really say too much because they like oh he's complaining oh he's a diva he's not focused on the ball you're not really say too much because they're like, oh, he's complaining. Oh, he's a diva. He's not focused on football. He's not focused on his job. But it's like, nah, we're able to speak up. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:43:11 We get to talk. We get to say how we feel. And people respect it, you know? Hell yeah. So it's like, I like that. Yeah. Might as well start you a podcast. I'm about to.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Y'all boys getting me right. For sure. Hey, listen, bro. We got you. We right here. Say less. For sure. Hey'm about to. Y'all boys getting me right. For sure. Hey, listen, bro. We got you. We right here. Say less. For sure. Hey, coming soon.
Starting point is 00:43:29 Yeah. Coming soon. You see what's happening right here? I don't know if you know my man right here. Be here. He real chef.
Starting point is 00:43:34 You know what I'm saying? He get to it in the kitchen. Yeah, bro. We can rap. I got you, bro. I know you in season. Holler me after the season. For the pool parties and shit.
Starting point is 00:43:43 Tap in the music video, the pregame. I'm just, we'll tap in. But I'm saying, you want to throw wood. I ain't, I ain't going to get you ready
Starting point is 00:43:54 for the season. It's a lot. I'm after the season and return. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, pretty pretty much everything what's the best thing you like damn you made them chicken wings for me boy a mug was so hot oh yeah it was heat though he couldn't stop eating them balls come on nah uh I don't know that's a good question bro
Starting point is 00:44:26 we do like I know but I'm saying we I had to say it uh it's the horses bro I told you the white laces
Starting point is 00:44:33 make niggas act different bro nah it's the black shoes pasta ain't got nothing to do with the laces nah the laces don't even matter real lamb chops
Starting point is 00:44:41 just lobster and shit like that so yeah yeah we tap in. For sure. I got to ask. I always ask him this.
Starting point is 00:44:49 How does it feel, you know what I'm saying, for walking around, like especially in this city, to see people like wearing your jersey? It's crazy. It don't even feel real sometimes. Sometimes I forget I'm in the league and I got to tell my homies, I'm like, bro, I'm in the NFL. Like, it don't even feel real most of the time, but I definitely appreciate all the love for sure. Yeah, for sure. I'm definitely getting league and I got to tell my homies I'm like bro I'm in the NFL like you don't even feel well most of the time but I definitely appreciate
