Man, I remember
I had a middle school team.
All of them was hooping
the low-top black forces.
Hooping them.

You know what I'm saying?
Nap, 219.
I always love relationships up there.
And I got to say, man, you are one of the most underrated players to come out of Indiana.
Like, one of the most underrated players that don't get talked about enough from the state of Indiana.
From your high school career to your college career and to having a decade plus in the league, man.
You have one of the most underrated careers, man. We're going to talk about that shit today.
But if you don't know who we got, each one more my dog, man, appreciate you pulling up
on this big job.
Speaker 2 I appreciate you having me, man. I watched enough episodes. I said, okay, about
time. I'm saying, you know, I got no facts. Now I had my two and I'm homies about like
Mike G GP Hollis. I was like, Hey, we got to make that happen, man. I'm happy that we
made it happen without them, so we can
blame them for it.
Shout out to my nigga Darrell. Shout out to D, man.
The Isadora, for sure.
The Isadora bastard.
My nigga put
this together. Love, gang.
Look, he's really out of pocket.
He ain't got the ambassador T.O.
He ain't got the T.O.
He know his love. I had a long night, TwO. He ain't got the T.O. or the Forrest that he ain't representing today. He know his love.
I had a long night, Twy.
He in Florida, he had the different, huh?
This is about your longevity.
He in Florida, he a new person.
This is about your career, not mine.
I feel you.
For sure, man.
We got to take it back, man.
Like y'all said, class of 07, man.
Sure.
Growing up, before high school, did y'all ever have any run-ins?
Yeah, for sure, for sure. I remember the first time we played against him, we thought him and
my boy Phil looked alike. We'd be like, they twins. He came out and started killing us.
We like, he played for Indiana Elite. I'm like, damn, this nigga nice. Like, who is
this nigga? But he was cool. He was like he is now.
Nah, that ain't a fool story. You know the full story we were talking shit first time
so let me tell you how all the way i went so i'm on the end of an elite um it's actually it's
actually our freshman year um our freshman year high high school. I'm playing with a whole bunch of guys I don't even know.
They just, you want to come?
We're going to get you some shoes.
Yeah, come on.
Anything free is me.
So, hey, come on.
You get yourself a pair of shoes.
You get to travel and have fun.
Come on.
I'm coming to hoop.
So, I'm with guys that's from middle of Indiana.
I don't know who nobody is.
I'm not only doing from East Chicago.
I'm just going out there just hooping.
And I see their team.
It's crazy.
I do remember the dude
fielding with them.
Field cover.
Covered on before the game.
They're like,
man, you look like my boy.
That's your twin.
They joking on me.
They don't say they laughing.
I'm like, okay,
they think it's cool.
They think it's cool.
That's crazy
because you have the long braids
back then.
You shouldn't go.
Long braids.
First couple buckets I got.
You think he cold, huh?
You think he cold.
They talk crazy.
I'm on a tent full of dudes, white dudes on my tent.
Borrowed me and one other black dude.
And they never saw me before.
It was my first time.
Before that, I ain't leave out of Gary, East Chicago or the hoop. So that was my first time that no I before that I ain't leave out of Gary Chicago to
who so that's my first time even traveling so what a hoop first couple of buckets and
next couple of buckets. Are you weak as like and it turned it turned up a little bit.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, about 1520 minutes to the game, are you a bitch ass? By that time, oh, man, he'd have cussed me clean.
I ain't tell you he's a bully, man.
He was a bully.
I ain't even say one thing about me.
Like most people think I'm quiet.
I ain't quiet.
I'm just super laid back, man.
I can't talk and hoop.
Some people are like, man, you be quiet on the court. You just go up like, I can't talk. I can't function. I ain can't talking hoop. So people like man you quiet. Of course you just go up like I can't talk I can't function I mess up a play. I'm gonna I'm gonna shoot
something crazy I can't I can't talking hoop. So and I'm saying I always just be chill and
I'd be mellow I gotta be calm. So Dan about Dan by one I probably about time about 20
points in I got a shoulder shove and everything done got a shoulder shoving and everything
we done got a little
scuffling
I done had to push him
up off me
like what the fuck
what you talking about
you know what I'm saying
but after that game
but after that
it was cool though man
but that was our first time
running T
so I'm like damn man
he trying to know what I'm saying
he wanted to smoke
he wanted
he wanted to squelch
he was killing
he was nice
he was about the same height
right now.
So, he's like, dude, I thought he was a forward.
He came out playing point guard and shit.
I'm like, hell no.
I knew who he was after that day for sure.
Yeah, but ever since then, though, we've been cool, man.
True.
After that, for real, we just found out, like, dang.
I'm like, dang, it's somebody else that's lighting.
You know what I'm saying?
Because I'm from East, I mean, y'all know I'm from East Chicago.
You see.
You know what I'm saying?
Neighborhood kid, project kids. But I'm saying? I mean, y'all know I'm from East Chicago. You know what I'm saying? Neighborhood kid,
probably the kids, but I'm leaving outside of here, and I'm thinking like all the other people from
everywhere else in Indiana probably like
preppy, and I'm like, dang, hold on.
They just like me. They talking like me,
you know what I'm saying? Then we hooped to Indiana All-Star.
No, crazy, but I played against y'all.
Well, I played, hey, let me tell you this story, too.
I played against them for three minutes.
Oh, yeah, yeah. But we me tell you this story, too. I played against him for three minutes. Oh, yeah, yeah.
He's nice.
But we played, y'all,
when you was on SYF.
Y'all, you, Robbie.
Y'all had one of the best A.A. teams ever, too.
Yep, yep.
But at the very time, though,
we saw each other after, man,
it was cool, though, man.
For sure.
But that was cool.
I actually liked them.
I'm like, okay, they just like us.
Indiana All-Stars was a time, man.
Oh, yeah, yeah, time man Oh yeah yeah yeah
Oh yeah
We had a real good time
Yeah that's when I knew
He was different though
Indiana All-Stars
Cause you know
Everything was geared around Eric
Yeah
Like so we go to practice
You know
They was all going
To Indiana schools
I'm going to Wake
So I wasn't getting no love
But they was the
Purdue versus IU
And practice
He like
I got Eric
I'm like
You know Eric was average with fourth.
Like, shit.
You can guard that.
I already guard him all the time.
I'm cool.
He was like, nah.
Nah, I got him.
Yeah, what's up?
Like, I'm like, oh, yeah, he different.
I'm like, yeah, he going to be nice.
They would go at it.
I'm like, yeah.
It's crazy because I know people used to always try to, like, compare us.
And at the time, I ain't gonna lie to you.
I thought I was colder than him.
I'm like, I'm colder than him.
He can't mess with me.
You know what I'm saying?
I look back, I look back on it.
When I got to, once about time I got to Lee, I said, uh, I see what I'm like.
I think it was cold.
I'm like, what?
I like maybe way colder than me.
I like, he was strong.
Like he could have went to the NBA out of 10th grade.
I went to that game where y'all played them at North Central.
He had that 50 piece.
You got your leg back?
Yeah.
He was.
Well, I think he got his leg back.
That's what I'm saying.
His career is so underrated.
And obviously, at a time period, like everybody every year,
we had consistent McDonald's All-Americans.
But Eric was so good
but y'all was just right there too it just didn't help because everybody pushed that but y'all was
like you said bro you wouldn't stay in a time where everybody was cold yeah you had to play
everybody good to get that one yeah yeah we had yeah our competition was crazy yeah and this amount
of dudes that made it to the league too man i tell people all the time, man, our competition, we was, and when like nobody dug no smoke,
everybody wanted to play against each other.
It was all love too at the same time.
Even with y'all, like it was just so crazy because Pike, even in them years when he was
going 22 and four, yeah, you got to play Greg Oden.
And if you get lucky and beat them, you get Eric Gordon.
That shit's crazy.
Then you had Carmel with Joshua Roberts.
Then we had people like, people forget, like Dominique James that was cold.
Richmond.
Shit, we played Juwan, and then when he was at Franklin Central,
they beat us one game.
Like, damn, Juwan.
You know what I'm saying?
We couldn't really escape an NBA player, really.
Yeah, the basketball, I feel like Indiana high school basketball are the best in the country.
Yeah.
I mean, for other people, they might want to argue that,
but for me, I feel like it's the best.
Especially that era, for sure,
that golden era here,
everybody had a NBA player.
Everybody had multiple D1 players.
Like, you couldn't duck that smoke.
But you said that 07 class, man.
Y'all was different.
Like, all across the board, though.
Like, everybody who got drafted
and then y'all going to college.
You know what I'm saying?
Did you know y'all almost played
college basketball together?
No, I didn't know that.
No, he the reason I didn't play college basketball.
It's crazy because I just took my high school team to Purdue.
And I was telling Coach Painter, like, I had committed to Purdue.
Right.
But they had no scholarship for me.
For real?
Because of you.
Oh, no, man.
Maybe we'd have made one.
He could put his hat on just like that
if I was going to hit him
I grabbed my Purdue hat
and was like
I'm going to Purdue
and he was like
we don't got no scholarships
because
I got a highlight coach
he ain't going to be here
he was just telling me
he was like
it was between
me and you right
but he was like
he knew you and Robbie was going to school together or something like that right me he was like, it was between me and you, right? But he was like, he knew you and Robbie was going to school together
or something like that.
Right.
And he was like, I ain't about to pass up on Etuan or Robbie for you.
Like, really.
You're in a different position.
You'd have been playing a point.
And I was like, but we all could have played together.
And he was like, yeah, it wasn't.
I would have taken no chances.
I was like, damn.
But I wanted to go to Purdue bad, bro. That's why you went the way forward. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was like, I'm going to get some black and gold, yeah, it was. We'd have been so nasty. I would have taken no chances. I was like, damn. But I wanted to go to Purdue bad, bro.
That's why you went the way forward.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I was like, I'm going to get some black and gold.
Yeah, for sure.
We'd have been so nasty.
That would have been cold.
That would have been crazy.
Oh, that would have been crazy.
And then when I met y'all, it didn't all start.
I'm like, man.
I swear Coach Prosser had died that summer.
Right.
So they was like, you can leave.
You got like 30 days to go wherever you want to go.
Right.
And I called my mom.
I was like, you think we should call for a dude?
My dad was like, hell no.
They didn't want you there.
They didn't want you there.
Why you want to go back there?
I'm like, shit, it would have been fun as hell.
Juwan, you talking.
They cool as hell.
Even Rob.
People ain't know Rob was as cool as he was.
Nah, for real.
We hooked together in high school and Valparaiso probably, what, 35 minutes from East Chicago.
I'm saying I didn't went over there, hung out with him, kicked it.
He cool, real cool.
Rob Markman, Real cool.
Yeah.
And was cold, like obviously in college, but high school too, like Scott Mardae.
That's what I'm saying.
For y'all to win, y'all regional up there and then come, like it was a lot of pros up
there.
Yeah.
Yeah, for sure.
Rob Markman, Yeah.
A lot of pros. It's crazy. Cause even like in my high school team, we had like six like 71 dudes like on my high school team.
Speaker 2 That motherfucker Kawhan was tough.
Speaker 1 Shout out to KK.
Speaker 2 Boy, he was cold.
Speaker 2 Oh yeah, he was cold.
Speaker 1 Kawhan short. Nasty.
Speaker 2 Yeah, he could have moved to college so easy. Oh, so easy. He's coming out of open
gyms when we were at Purdue. That thing about he a lot. D-L he's six four three ten and he three fifteen and he
coming out there killing us killing some of the dudes that will start he come out there shooting
threes posting them up light on his feet bro light on his feet man who was the other dudes
y'all had man angel yeah angel yeah where the hell he come from i bro? I don't know what Angel came from, man. Hey, you don't find a seven foot KD coming.
Nah, bro, he was cold.
Angel Garcia, boy, came out of nowhere.
It was nice. It was cold.
Y'all did not need that addition, bro.
Y'all did not need that addition.
Yes, we did. We come one by one.
We needed him.
Him and Kawhi in that front court, bro.
That was cheap.
When he was dribbling the ball, I'm like,
who the fuck is that?
Man, he got house.
Ballers.
Crazy. I was like, what's he? He ain't no that? Man, he got house. Ballers. Ballers. Crazy.
I was like, that shit. He ain't no more.
That's the only English word he knew.
Ballers.
Passable, passive.
Yeah, that's all he knew.
But, man, he was nice.
He was definitely nice.
For sure, man.
And then, obviously, you know what I'm saying?
You going to Purdue, having a crazy career at Purdue.
How has it been seeing them with the recent success and back in that time period?
How was that playing in the Big Ten when the Big Ten was the Big Ten?
Everybody was lit there.
Man, it was nice.
It's crazy, man.
I ain't had cable when I grew up.
You know what I'm saying?
Purdue was one of the only few teams on TV.
Purdue and Illinois.
Them was closest to me.
Me, I was watching their game.
I'm like, man, dang, I wish I could hoop somewhere like that.
And so going there was like crazy.
I'm like, oh, dang.
Dang, when they first offered me a scholarship,
I'm like, y'all sure?
Y'all want me?
You know what I'm saying?
It's because you just don't know.
But man, going there, hoop,
especially Glenn Robinson for being our way.
Big dog.
Us looking up to him, that was crazy.
Go be on the same court.

In the fall of 1986,
Ronald Reagan found himself at the center of a massive scandal
that looked like it might bring down his presidency.
Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir?
No.
It became known as the Iran-Contra affair.
And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second.
I'm going to ask...
I'm Leon Nafok, co-creator of Slow Burn. In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran Contra, you'll hear all the
unbelievable details of a scandal that captivated the nation nearly 40 years ago, but which
few of us still remember today.
The things that happened were so bizarre and insane, I can't begin to tell you.
Please do.
To hear the whole story,
listen to Fiasco, Iran Contra on the iHeartRadio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
At that time period, y'all were so good,
but who was the part of the hardest matchup
you had in college?
Who was that one player that you were just like,
that was the coldest person I've played against out of the big
10 or just in general? Cause you know, y'all had long seasons. Y'all was going to tournaments
long and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 I don't know. It's crazy. Cause we call it
Steph like, and um, when he was at Davidson, you got to chase him around. He was going
crazy. Uh, obviously every Turner who was what? Even Turner in college was crazy. Obviously, Evan Turner. Who was what? E.T. Evan Turner in college
was crazy.
6'11".
I mean,
6'7 point.
Oh, yeah.
Man,
it's a lot of people.
It's so many.
It's just,
it's hard to name,
but those couple people.
Isaiah Thomas,
another little guy
who was going crazy
at Washington.
Oh, yeah,
I remember that.
Isaiah Thomas,
my boy,
he was tough.
But yeah,
it was crazy.
Man,
E.T.
be climbing on Twitter.
Kind of sort of like you.
Y'all kind of like downplay your career, but it'd just be fun.
I'm like, you know, Evan was cold.
Yeah, E.T. was cold.
You don't just walk your way into the number two pick.
Nah.
National player of the year.
And player of the year.
Come on, man.
He was cold.
He was unstoppable.
He posting people up, locking people up.
He's 6'7".
He's mismatched.
Yeah, E.T. was like that.
Rob Markman For sure, man, obviously.
Oh, go ahead.
If you wasn't going to Purdue, where else you was going to go?
T.J. It's crazy.
Other schools I like, Tennessee, Tennessee, Tennessee and Georgia Tech, which are the
other two schools I like.
Rob Markman Georgia Tech.
T.J. Yeah, I like Georgia Tech, Paul Hill.
You know, like I said, I would look for some familiarity, so you know what I'm saying?
I like Paul Hill, you know what I'm saying?
I'm like, I probably can relate to him and say, you know,
doing this thing in Georgia, Texas and the guys that went down that will buy no man,
no saying jacking them since in a guards go out there and ball up and then Tennessee as
like they style.
They was playing fast up tempo trapping.
I know Bruce Burrell he was pretty cool, too.
Yeah.
Yeah, so those are my two schools that I like.
But then, I met JJ, and they messed it up, man.
You know what I'm saying?
They all was like, man, we should go to school together.
So I'm like, all right, perfect.
Let's go do it.
Yeah.
That's a hell of a class they had together.
Nah, that class really changed the whole thing for Purdue.
Y'all got it cracking again because Dave T, he like the distant cousin.
They ain't really have it going like that yet.
They was up and down years.
Then y'all came and it just turned ever since then.
Purdue been a powerhouse really.
Yeah, and it's crazy.
It's cool for Indiana.
Just see, you know what I'm saying?
How they turned Indiana back up. been a powerhouse really yeah and it's crazy school for indiana just you know what i'm saying
indiana yeah because iu they same thing they had been kind of up and down for a little bit so just the whole state yeah and represent but like purdue getting like unt it's a wrong it's a little
different to getting like are you getting like all the deep one it was like more representation
for people from like yeah city yeah yeah for. Yeah, for sure. Now, obviously, you had a crazy career.
You know what I'm saying?
It's time to declare.
How was that process for you?
Man, that process was crazy.
I mean, people always ask me, they ask me the question, like, man, did you always, like,
dream going to, you always knew you was going to the NBA?
I'm like, nah.
I was just hooping first just because there wasn't nothing else to do.
It's either hoop or get in trouble.
So, I'm going to say I'm going to fall in love with this basketball land.
For me, for real, I didn't really realize I can go to the NBA probably
until like my sophomore year.
I don't know, after my sophomore going into my junior year,
my first couple years, I'm just hooping.
I'm just having fun.
I'm like, man, if I can go overseas and play some cheese,
I'm straight.
It's going to be more than I grew up on.
I could be a little decent cop.
Yeah.
I could be in the house, give me a little Cadillac, give me a little decent trip.
I could be a little caddy, I'm straight.
He straight, he's a Caddy.
He said the Caddy.
I'm straight.
I'm a real trench lady.
I ain't got nothing to leave.
But for real, Jeff T was one of the dudes that inspired me for real because I saw him
hooping and balling.
I saw him get ready to go to the league.
I'm like, dang, these same dudes that I'm hooping against, they going and they my class.
You know what I'm saying?
So I'm like, damn, if they can do it, then I'm fine.
I'm like, I can do it too.
It wasn't like, it wasn't like no envy.
Like I was like, I'm better than them.
I'm like, dang, hold on.
But on the same card, I can do it too. That's my class. ET I was like, I'm better than them. Like, dang, hold on. But on the same court, I'm glad to do it too.
That's my class.
ET, you know what I'm saying?
All y'all guys that I'm saying was in my class.
But it's crazy, especially you.
You was a big one.
I was like, man, Joe, dang, he ball-eating.
You know what I'm saying?
He from, you know what I'm saying?
Same type of doing.
Like, dang, I feel like, you know what I'm saying?
I got a shot.
So after that, like my sophomore going to my junior year, I did all the extra stuff
before I wasn't really even lifting weights or none of that.
I was just hooping.
Rob Markman, Jr.: Damn.
I ain't never had a trainer before that.
Nothing.
I just used to hoop.
You know what I'm saying?
But then once I got somebody that showed me how to work out and showed me how to do stuff
then it was over with after that.
But yeah, but it was crazy, man.
Pre-drive.
I'm going out all the workouts.
I had probably about 14 workouts.
I'm like man I know all these things ain't gonna drive me.
Why they got me coming in?
It's so crazy.
You got to do it.
Yeah, you got to do it.
Some of the teams, I like man you got the 15th pick.
I know I ain't going no 15th.
I'm barely on the draft board.
Y'all got me going here working out for number 15.
But it was cool though man.
Pre-draft process.
I'm like, man, I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to
go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going
to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going
to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going
to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to go out there and I'm going to the draft board. Y'all got me going here working out for number 15.
But it was cool, though, man.
Pre-draft process and then getting drafted was a long night for me.
55th pick.
But I feel like everything happened for a reason.
For sure.
For sure.
I mean, like you said, to be second round pick and have a decade in the NBA,
it's crazy.
It's a lot of first rounders who fizzle out and don't get to that second contract.
For sure.
You've been in a couple cities, man.
What's one of your favorite cities you've played in?
Played in?
It's crazy.
I'm not being biased.
Me playing for the Bulls is crazy.
I'm growing up, like I said,
I ain't had a cable.
Only game that came on the team was the Bulls
and some of the Pacers, but I'm Channel 9, WGN, I'm getting up, like I said, again, I ain't had cable. So only game that came on the team was Bulls and some of the Pacers, but I'm channel nine
WGN, I'm getting all those, and growing up during the mid nineties Jordan era.
I mean, it's just surreal.
I mean, I never even dreamed of that, that I'd be playing for the Bulls.
You'd be outside Jordan doing moves, but you never really thought, you thought you had
to be lucky to make it that far.
No I'm saying so.
So that was crazy.
All my folks get to come see me come to the games.
Tickets were crazy.
Everybody needs a ticket.
But I guess I can.
I got a little smart with I got a little smart with it though.
No, because everybody want to come to the game.
And then LeBron are you playing the Celtics or something? Yeah, I had to spread it though. No, because everybody want to come to the game. And then you know, LeBron are you playing the Celtics or something?
Yeah, I had to spread it out. Yeah, I ain't got enough for this one, but you come.
Charlotte.
When we playing.
Yeah.
Awesome.
What up, yo?
We about to play Detroit. You want some tickets?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You got to learn. You got to spread them out. I got one these days,
so you got to know what I'm saying.
Tell my fucking Gordon Hayward coming to town. What you trying to do?
Oh, man. that's my guy.
Rob Markman That's my guy.
That's my guy.
I got a little smart with it.
I got to sort it out.
Yeah, I ain't got nothing with this, but you come to the next one.
You free on Thursday.
You know what I'm saying?
So, but it was cool though, man.
So everybody come see me, watch me ball.
So it was dope.
Rob Markman For sure.
Man, that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's You free on Thursday. You know what I'm saying? But it was cool though, man. So everybody come see me, watch me ball.
So it was dope.
Rob Markman For sure.
Man, that bull scene, you know what I'm saying?
Crazy.
07 class again, you and D Rose on the same team.
Rob Markman Oh yeah, that was sick, man.
That's crazy because D Rose, man, he's another one I know, 07.
I've been knowing him since middle school.
First time we hooped together too.
It was crazy.
That's crazy.
It's like first time me and Jeff hooked up. We was in a side gym
in the high school, man. You remember that? We was like a
little, I didn't even have no bleachers.
None. Right, right.
They had wood sticking up.
What was that?
Nah, I'm telling you, the gym was like...
They had wood sticking up
and everything. I was like, I don't know where they had us at.
But D-Roll, same thing,
man. You know, me, same thing, man.
Him being, me being from East Chicago, Indiana, I was kind of crazy.
I always got to explain that to people.
You know, you're from Chicago.
I was like, nah, it's technically Indiana, but other people, they just run with it.
But this school, I get the best of both worlds.
I'm on the border, so I get the best of both worlds.
And D-Roll's only been probably, what, 20 minutes away.
We was in middle school. First time I I saw him man. He was crazy. What we like seventh going
to eighth grade and I'm telling you down the jumper from the free throw line. He was crazy
and middle school. We on a little sad jump. He would like provides or East High School
some love like auxiliary on now. You got the gym. You got the gym upstairs to the side. Man, he up there for the free throw, I'm telling you, man.
Like, no lie.
So I'm thinking, so when I'm young, like I said, I haven't been out really outside much.
I'm always hooping 30, 40 minute radius.
And I'm thinking, I'm the coldest dude, you know what I'm saying?
Where I'm from.
I saw him, I'm like, I went back to the crib, you know what I'm saying?
My neighborhood up there.
I'm like, dog, I got to see this dude.
I'm telling you.
His whole head is the border.
I'm telling you.
I'm like, man.
I'm telling you, he can go to the league out of 8th grade.
Hey, I went back home to my mama.
Daddy, yeah.
I'm like, man.
I saw this dude.
It was crazy.
So that was cool for us, you know what I'm saying, going way back then to be on the same team.
I think that's what the craziest parallel is, like, even for
the career for, like, EJ and shit. It's just like,
if you're not going around
no places, like, these are the best niggas
everywhere. But they really are, though.
It ain't even just you being biased, that's the best you've seen.
They're better than everybody everywhere.
Them two almost going to college together in your class
is crazy still. Oh, yeah, that's sick.
Them playing AAU was crazy.
Mean Streets. Did y'all play Mean Streets?
Yup, we played in the
Peace Jam Championship.
I'm mad they boxing won me, too.
They boxing won you?
Damn, man.
Shout out to my boy
Reggie Rose, man. That's my guy.
Before the game, he said,
he can never say my name right.
Eton, you ain't getting off today.
I got something for you.
I got something.
I'm like, for real?
I'm just laughing.
I'm laid back like, all right.
Man, he wouldn't let me touch the ball.
But it was crazy, man.
Them two, they was electric.
It's crazy because he offered me, he tried to get me to come play with them two.
He rose, like, yeah, come over here, man.
Man, you're going to be crazy.
And you can shoot.
So they going to get.
I'm like, nah, ain't enough balls over there.
Balls.
Oh, yeah, balls.
Enough basketballs.
My bad.
Nah, but for real.
If you would have played on their team, because we played them in the big time Final Four.
We was beating them by like 20.
Eric crossed me at half court and dunked on this dude named Tommy Freeman.
You also, Tommy.
Right, right.
Boom.
Crowd went crazy. They caught a charge. Reggie jumped on this dude named Tommy Freeman, right? You know what I'm saying, Tommy. Right, right. Boom. Crowd went crazy.
They called a charge.
Reggie jumped on the court.
Got a tech.
Went crazy.
Right.
So, you know, Indiana shit, we start kind of like holding the ball a little bit.
Man started going crazy.
Like, we sick of that white boy stuff.
Like, they going crazy on us.
So, we start trying to hoop.
Man, Eric went for like 40 in the second half, bro.
They beat us about 20.
We was up 20. I was like, yeah. Talk about, he was a different monster. Come on, bro. He was special. So we start trying to hoop man Eric went for like 40 in the second half right they beat us about 20
He's a different monster come on
Literally I brought a 10th grade. He could have went to the league in average 15 out of sort of great
Two years of high school. He was already 2-10. He fit the description.
He could have went to the league
out of the sophomore year.
Out of the sophomore year,
it's crazy.
Like, literally,
I'm like, man,
ain't too many people
saw like that.
He was for real.
He was legit.
What's the best team
you done played on?
I think I know,
but it's your career.
It's your career.
My best team
in the league?
In the NBA.
My best team? Oh, that In the NBA. My best team?
That's hard to say because, I mean, my boss in my first year was crazy.
We played them.
I wasn't really getting in the game.
They might put me in for a defensive substitution.
Getting up for three seconds and come on out.
Ruin them stats real quick.
Ruin them stats real quick.
See, I could be averaging 12, but he throw me in there for three minutes to come out.
He'll throw me in for two minutes.
He told him all that shit.
He killed a career stat.
I was just three for the team.
Hey, you know, kids looking at me, oh, he on the average three.
I can bust him up.
You know what I'm saying?
I don't know that.
It's a process, man.
It's a business.
It's a business.
You talking about that all my time.
It's a business, bro.
Yeah.
Coming to the game,
taking turnovers.
They might throw me in.
You know, Doc is, man,
throw me in,
end of the second quarter
for the last 40 seconds
or something,
like something crazy.
Might be in foul trouble.
Yeah.
Here, just throw you
like little stuff like that,
but it was crazy.
But I don't know.
My boss's team was crazy, man. I't know. My boss team was crazy, man.
I mean,
the Pelican team was crazy, bro.
The Pelicans team.
Yeah.
I know I heard y'all
talking about that before.
Yeah, we all thought we
for sure.
We all thought we was gone.
We thought we had a chance
to win a chip for sure.
That's one of the most
talented teams
that don't get spoke on enough.
That was a squad.
That team was sick
just with Boogie and AD.
Bro, they was like a twin title.
It was crazy.
And then you had really three combo guards.
I'm playing a small four, but I really could play the point and two.
So it was crazy.
We had mismatches.
Then we all can guard anybody.
I hired a dog too.
He was like, yeah, I was okay switching with Drew.
I was switching too.
That's why we must switch.
That's why we must switch. I can play D and two. I can a dog to be like, yeah, I was okay. Switching with Drew. I was switching to play defense. I can lock up too. But yeah, so it was so it was crazy, man. We planned
so fast, man. So boy, you get hurt for sure. We definitely thought we had our sick, bro.
We all started clicking. No, what I'm saying? Everybody started
knowing their role.
So, you know,
you know what it
felt like where you
ain't really even
got to talk no more.
It's just okay.
Automatic.
You already know.
I used to do that.
I used to do that
pistol action.
Set the slip to
screen.
I used to hate that
shit.
It was crazy.
No, because the
thing we used to do
is so fast.
Yeah.
People, they know
it's coming.
They know it's
coming, but he
used to push off
and get the little pass from Doe.
Drew was hella good
at that shit.
I used to be like,
bro,
they playing too fast.
Teams,
the players,
they be like,
man,
slow down.
Like,
man,
we used to be flying.
It was so crazy.
We was playing so fast.
Sometimes,
a boogie won't touch the ball
for like five possessions.
Hey,
man,
slow down.
Y'all that boy
too goddamn fast.
Man, y'all flying and setting up the court. Damn, surround. He getting beat up, bud.
He going to give us one to two.
He going to give us one to two touches.
Man, y'all slow your ass down.
Y'all flying.
I'm like, shit.
My nigga needed his touches.
We got to get out of that.
For sure.
Man, it's great.
Yeah, that was fun.
And to hear y'all talk about he's still doing it to this day, to see Drew Holiday still
killing, like start off even with y'all still killing he's still doing it to this day to see drew how they still killing like start off even with y'all still killing like how is that to see I mean now
he in Boston like it's just crazy to hear like all this stuff that y'all talk about
and now to keep seeing it then people will start to acknowledge it because he was back
there when drew went crazy and locked up damn.
Oh yeah yeah man that was sick that was sick I mean Drew he want all the smoke he ain't
ducking no smoke no that's one thing you know so I've been Drew, he want all the smoke. He ain't ducking no smoke. You know what I'm saying?
That's one thing.
You know what I'm saying?
I've been on, I've got on the team with him.
Best player on every team.
Like, it's either you going to bust, you going to, you going to give it, you going to mess
him up or he going to mess you up.
Ain't no in between.
You know what I'm saying?
Either he coming at you or you going at him.
So that was one thing each night, every night.
You know what I'm saying?
He was a, he was a. And that's my guy. That's probably one of my teammates
that I've talked to the most, you know what I'm saying?
Out of the league, so good dude.
What you going to be here?
Who?
Drew.
Ah, Drew.
Wyclef.
Wyclef.
That's my guy, Wyclef Drew.
Nah, Drew's cold, bro.
Yeah, people don't understand.
Like, even, man, think about when he was in Philly. Like, man, Drew's cold, bro. Yeah, people don't understand, like, even,
man,
think about when he was in Philly,
like,
man,
how cold he was.
Yeah.
Like,
man,
handles was crazy.
Yeah.
Man,
he used to be so athletic,
like,
man,
he used to take off,
boom,
with that left hand.
Man,
Drew,
Drew's cold.
It's dope to see him still doing the same shit.
Still playing hard,
still killing,
still locking people up.
So good thing he got some good knees still,
man.
I don't know what he did. I don't know knees, still. I don't know what he did.
I was right out of juice, like what he did.
Playing under the rim.
Playing under the rim.
Man, slow down, bro.
This is not N1, my nigga.
Mike Colley still in the league, chilling.
Under the rim players, bro.
Under the rim players.
I'm so right about that. under the round players under the round players Stanley
for sure right about that

Some of the young guards you like.
Guards?
I mean, man, you name it, it's crazy.
Shea go crazy.
Nice.
Oh man, Shea go crazy.
You can't even speed him up.
He be in slow motion, but he's so crafty.
You know what I'm saying?
Get them fouls.
Obviously you got Ja.
I mean, you know what I'm saying? You don't forget about Ja. We know you all. You know, I don't know saying get them files. Obviously you got a job.
I mean, I'm saying go forget about job.
We know what I'm saying.
You know what I'm saying?
I just say out of mind everybody's keep forgetting about
of a man.
He he'll be I mean, I've got Maxi.
Nobody expected for him to be as good as he is.
He's cold.
Yeah, Maxi, you know, I'm saying for him to do what he
do.
It's crazy.
But yeah, it's just a horse man.
It's a whole bunch of guards.
Damn.
Cole, I'm going to give my boy Cole a shout out.
That's my boy.
My boy Cole.
He right here in Orlando.
You know what I'm saying?
I got to show him some love.
Yeah, man.
Orlando looking good, too.
Oh, yeah.
Orlando, hey.
They're going to be something to reckon with.
Man.
Looking real good, man.
For a while.
He was in the running for six minutes.

First-time coach, you know what I'm saying?
Hell, yeah.
Him being out, you know what I'm saying?
One of us, that's pretty cool.
Yeah, because we not get that same grade, so that's why.
Because a lot of times you see, like you see situations,
most black coaches get in really tough situations
where they got to turn around a whole bunch
before they get a chance to even reap the benefits.
And for them to turn around so quick, that's fire.
Orlando is a turnaround.
I mean, a lot of people on the outside probably want to look for them
to be as good as quick as they were.
But when I came back and played here, what was that, two years ago? A year and a half?
Something like that. But man, I'm like, yeah, they're
going to be all right. Nah, they got a squad.
They're going to be good going forward. They're probably
going to be right behind Boston next
year if they take that next week. Behind Boston?
If they take that next week.
I mean, they got the
big lineup. They can switch one
through five. They got everybody
talented. Man, they play together too. Yeah. I can see that. That can switch one through five. They got everybody talented. And they play together, too.
I can see that.
That ain't a bad take.
They need a bucket, though.
They need a bucket.
I mean, if P5 take that next leap and just become the guy guy, they got it.
They just need a little bit more shooting.
Yeah.
A little bit more shooting.
A lot of people say Malik Monk would look perfect on that team.
Malik Monk?
They need a guard who can score.
Maybe not Malik exactly, but they need a guard who can score for sure. Malik Monk would look perfect on that team. They need a guard who can score. Maybe not Malik exactly,
but they need a guard who can score for sure.
Malik Monk.
Malik can go get him a dub a night though.
They don't really need a guard to score.
Somebody has made some shots.
You don't need no dub a night.
Somebody get you a solid 15, 14,
everybody get timely shots.
They need a-
You know what I'm saying about somebody hit them
timely shots.
Like when you need somebody to make a big shot,
big play, you know what I'm saying?
Somebody you can depend on.
Malik need the pill now.
He's like, y'all got me fucked up, man. He's a stat.
He's saying, yeah, you got it.
I don't want him to leave Sacramento, bro.
You know, him and De'Aaron Fox were my favorite backcourts ever.
They need, like, an Austin Reeves.
The magic.
They ain't going to get him.
But they need, like, because he can make shots.
Right.
True.
And he can still handle the ball and stuff.
That's true.
They not getting him.
Yeah. That's what a player they need. Something like that. That's true. They not getting him. Yeah.
That's what a player
they need.
Yeah.
Somebody like,
I mean,
Woodford perfect,
but no,
they ain't letting him.
They ain't getting him.
But Malik Monk
might be too much.
He too much.
I need me the ball, bro.
PB,
I fuck with you, bro.
Somebody like
Dante DiVinciso
would have been nice with him.
Perfect.
Dante DiVinciso?
Oh, man,
he would fit in so good.
Somebody that can get a bug at timely. I don't need him to be 20 every night. You man, you fit in so good. So I get
a bug at timely. Yeah, I was 20 every night. No, I need to get 18 to 20 when it matter
and then look explosive known for like somebody like him be perfect. I mean he might be able
to get like bogey bogey. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that'd be nice. Yeah, bogey would be nice. If he stays, you got to keep him healthy. Yeah, stay healthy.
Bogey nice.
Man, yeah, because the Eastern Conference,
that young talent is up there.
And they got a chance.
It's pretty weak over there.
They got a chance to be weak.
Niggas are hurt this year.
Disrespectful.
Milwaukee was hurt.
There's a lot of injuries.
Don't mention hurt now when the was When the Pacers was moving on
Nigga didn't say nothing
Eastern Conference Final
I don't give a
I told you
I don't care
I don't care
Yeah I ain't
I'm not rolling with the Pacers
This year
Nah that shit is Fugazi
Fugazi

It ain't even
It ain't just part of my
Let me enjoy my season bro
That shit is Fugazi
That's Fugazi.
Yeah, that triggered me, bro.
You said it.
That Pacers had you for a couple years.
Man.
They had me for one.
I had my one double year.
I love playing for the Pacers.
That was the best year of my life, but.
I hate this show.
I hate this show.
I was.
Is this a lie?
You said he's an all-star, but that's the best year of his life.
You said he's an all-star, but that's the best year of his life. You say he's a all-star, but that's about the end of his life.
I have freedom, bro.
You know how it is when you got freedom?
Yeah.
I ain't have freedom with the Hawks, bro.
We was the Spurs, bro.
You had to do it a certain way.
That's your career.
I got the Indiana.
That's your career.
I got the Indiana, bro.
They was like, you can do whatever you want.
Just pass the PG.
After that, you can do whatever you want.
You say he on the mic.
He ain't keeping it real right now
I'm keeping it real
I'm talking as far as hooping
now off the field
respect
respect
you say he saying
I don't tell you
he said it had to be
no real shit though
I'll be fucking with him
like I even got
I'm like bro
why do you want to come here
like he's loving
Indianapolis
throwing through
so I know he was going
playing for the Patriots
eventually
yeah no that was cool I saw what made you I the Pacers eventually. Yeah, no, that was cool.
I saw you got 44 too.
What was that about?
So,
when I was in high school,
ask your niggas
about 44, it's crazy.
When I was in high school,
I wore 44
because I wanted
the bigger shorts.
And then like,
all my friends,
I grew up on the west side
of Indianapolis.
So, like,
it was to represent them
so I could do that.
Oh, okay.
It's just some wild shit.
See, that's why he was back there.
That's what he was trying to put in you.
See, I knew it.
He had the center on the bracelet.
He was trying to put it in you.
Then my first one was stinking.
That's why I was mad all the time.
He definitely was fast.
He definitely was.
Oh, shit. It was was. Oh, shit.
It was crazy.
So, man, funny story.
My brother was at the game, and he's nine years older than me,
so he ain't used to get to come see me play a lot.
And he saw me playing against y'all, and the game we got into,
he like, bro, you know they from in the Napa.
It might be a whole bunch of them.
He like, they got to fight.
They don't give me a jump.
No, but that was was cool though, man.
But that's a story, man.
That's crazy.
We go way back.
Man, that's crazy, man.
Shots to the 07 draft class.
Indiana guys, man.
Like I said, man, we give you your flyers.
You definitely one of the people who deserve it.
But one of the most underrated players.
It does not get talked about what we talk about players from Indiana going crazy, bro.
Appreciate it.
I bring him up every time.
Did you?
I'll go ahead.
Nah, go ahead.
I'm just saying I just bring him up every time.
Him, Eric, all them dudes that was on the Indiana draft.
I'm like, man, you know what?
I'm like, man, you know what?
I'm like, man, you know what? I'm like, man, you know what? I'm like, man, you know what? I bring him up every time. Did you?
I'll go ahead.
Nah, go ahead.
I'm just saying I just bring him up every time.
Him, Eric, all them dudes that was on the Indiana All-Stars, I talk about it all the
time because I was like, there was no team better than us to ever come out of Indiana
All-Stars, bro.
Everybody on the team.
Nah, we weren't even close.
So you know what's crazy?
You know how the junior All-Stars play the senior All-Stars?
We was killing them.
We beat them by like 40.
They a year, two years older.
We killing them.
I'm talking about not even close
like killing them.
It's crazy.
It's crazy.
That was my class.
Hold on, Niggas.
Oh, yeah.
Y'all didn't want no smoke.
Y'all didn't want no smoke.
Y'all smacked those six?
I didn't play.
They played, but they smacked them.
No, you didn't.
You didn't play.
It was like three games,
like a north, south, and it was like Three games Like a north south
And it was like
A couple of games
Our senior year
I played
Our junior year
I got in trouble
I didn't even play
Oh yeah
I would've killed
Oh hey
We murdered them
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
We beat them like 50
Chickwad
You didn't say
You didn't have to go to sleep
No
We was running around the hotel
that was our pregame MCL bro
that's crazy
I was like these dudes is cool they my homies for life Oh yeah, San Mateo. That's crazy. I ain't never going to forget them days.
I was like,
ah,
these dudes is cool,
bro.
They my homies for life,
bro.
Hey man,
I had one of the most
fun times though,
funnest times playing
basketball at Indiana
All-Star,
man.
We had a ball.
We had to make our own
fun too because we had
some games.
I was in Evansville.
I'm like,
man,
I didn't know you
been in this stuff
in Indiana before.
We went to,
we was like,
Martinsville?
We was like,
we was out of pocket for having us in Martinsville. Y'all playing in Martinsville was crazy. Nah, we have was like Martin's Villa. We like Speaker 1
Martin'sville is crazy places brother.
I was like, hey, hold on.
I know you have any so y'all might be used to this way.
I'm from way up north.
So I want you to go on a certain place.
So we know I'm Sam or the story.
We made our own fun like you can't no matter what we went every every city we went to we
was we was clowning man
we had a we had a ball we had we making our own parties man it was great we had a time that's
how it's great it's good thing you ain't had no cameras
man we had so much fun yeah don't stories that man if you want that and you wouldn't know about
it we was yeah we was clowning. We had a ball.
So I remember the audience came,
bro.
Your freshman year.
Y'all play ripple.
I came down.
Oh,
dang.
You remember that?
Yeah.
That's what I knew.
That's what I,
I used to be hate,
but you killed it.
Yeah.
This nigga.
Yeah.
Welcome to gym.
You feel me?
You,
you swaggy.
I had no big ass, weak ass outfits on. They came in like a college team. This nigga Yeah Walking the gym You feel me You swaggy Y'all had them

Damn that's great man
He take it way back
You play par 4 bro
You had a
You had like

Crazy
You know what's crazy?
That was my second high school game.
Yeah, I know.
It was always real because we used to pull up on y'all.
Yeah, that was only my second one.
It's crazy.
So you say that because at first I thought I was going to be 6'8".
Like he said, I was the same height.
I ain't grow that much.
I was already like 6'2".
You know what I'm saying?
I'm a first year.
I'm saying I'm handling.
So I used to see T-Mac.
T-Mac was my favorite player.
Don't worry about it.
My bad.
My bad.
But Mac was my favorite player.
He was cool.
He was my favorite player growing up.
So, man, I always was like a big guard since sixth grade.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm 5'10", sixth grade, point.
And I'm saying point forward.
I thought I was going to be 6'8".
I thought I would be like a point forward.
So it's crazy.
That's what I said.
I said, damn, he played just like me.
Love his size knees.
My nigga was on the first stretch forward with the light on him.
That's why you did the hand dribble.
He used to always, he used to always hand dribble.
Like, damn, he do.
Yeah.
I'm like, hey, he's got the handsy.
So when did you start playing guard at AEC, though?
So it's crazy.
Like he said, by the time he saw me playing, I mean, he was like, man, he playing a point.
But I started training.
Once I saw I wasn't growing no on more I'm like, oh look
Really like my freshman year. Okay, I started trying like hold on. I ain't growing them all
I was six two at the start of the end of the I'm still six
So man today I look I gotta get my guard skill straight
It's crazy and I couldn't I couldn't even shoot threes and they you know
If polls game actually swear the draft again hole. I just had like a little wide shot but I had my godfather coach Bobby Miles. He took me under his wing. You know what I'm
saying? He like, man, you want to have a chance to go to the league, you got to be a guard
and you got to learn how to shoot. Man, he used to come get me like 6 o'clock in the morning
and bring me to the gym, have me doing form shooting and all that,
change my whole shot.
And, man, that was big, you know what I'm saying?
So I always give him credit.
Yeah, I'm in debt to him forever.
He was a dog, bro.
He said, my nigga's undersized me.
Look at me out there.
And it's crazy.
I used to always,
since I was in high school,
I always looked forward
coming to Indy,
you know what I'm saying,
coming out there to hoop
against all the teams.
So that's crazy.
Nah, bro, you special.
I was a scout early, bro.
I said,
that nigga's going to be hot.
You got it.
He scouted seven girls
in a year.
Like, man, that's crazy.
I said, once he make it out,
that's a true story.
That's crazy.
Get my nigga a Netflix documentary truth We used to go to Chicago
Play y'all
And I had people out there
I'm like
Who these niggas
Is living like this
Y'all was wrong
But I said
Boy they finna break
That motherfucking ring
Niggas hanging out
After the game
Oh yeah
You come to
Man you come
Our high school games
Is crazy man
Like our whole
Like our whole All our neighborhoods Was behind us like you come to our game our whole bottom
section is all dudes from neighborhood they talking crazy
And y'all shit was an arena
Yeah
They had the hardest high school gym that we played in bro
Yeah it was tough it was tough
And you said that before
Yeah like that was
Yeah y'all know yeah y'all know it came up that yeah it was tough
Willie Frazier all them niggas that came through
My dawg Frazier Yeah Frazier I all them ladies that came through. My dog,
Frazier.
Yeah,
Frazier. Yeah,
boy.
I'm tapped in.
Them are my big
bros right there.
For sure,
man.
Listen,
man,
we appreciate you
rocking with us,
man.
We got to do this
again,
man.
Yeah,
we got to do this
again,
man.
We got to get
that dead love,
man.
Chopping it up
with the homie.
For sure,
man.
Oh,
yeah,
man.
Next time I got to
come,
I got to come to
Nap Town,
man.
I got to come
through,
man. Yeah, pull up, man. What you got going on Town man I gotta come to the studio I gotta come through man
Oh yeah pull up man
What you got going on man
You wanna speak on anything
You got a head
Or what you doing there
Any new business
Business you wanna speak on
Oh yeah for sure
I like all money
Anybody wanna invest
You know what I'm saying
Get y'all money
Just bring it to me
Nah I'm messing with you
Nah I'm just
I'm rolling too
Turn 500 into 50k
Yeah if you got Triple your money Nah man But now I'm wrong too. Turn 500 into 50k. Yeah, if you're going to triple your money, nah man. But now I'm saying just transitioning
to the other side, going on two years being out, I knew towards the end of hooping probably
like my last two, three, I'm like, oh, it's winding down. I'm like, oh, you know what
I'm saying? What I'm going to do next? Like I went for free agency back before I went
to New Orleans.
I had probably like half the league called me.
I had probably like
14 teams called me.
Then after I left New Orleans,
I had probably like
three teams called me.
I had free agency.
Then I went to Phoenix.
After I left Phoenix,
I had about one to two teams.
I was like,
okay, yeah,
it's winding down.
I started seeing that trend, man.
So,
like,
let me make sure,
you know what I'm saying,
I get my,
you know what I'm saying, get all my cheese, you know what I'm saying, set my future up. So, I started seeing that trend, man. So like, let me make sure I'm saying I get my own insane, get all my cheese and I'm saying set my future up.
So I started getting into some first I started doing real estate, just no saying regular
single flipping homes and stuff like that.
Then I got to some commercial real estate.
One of my coolest projects I got to aviation development.
Okay, Dallas, that's pretty cool. You know, so
no just transitioning to that business that for sure has been I've been pretty cool, you
know, and you know, hey man, it's a blessing got to keep it going. No, I'm saying also
I might try to do something basketball. I want to try to know getting maybe to some
front office type stuff and executive E, you going to be, you know what I'm saying, get my suit and tie?
Nah.
Nah.
Jeff talking to Jeff talking to me.
I don't need a suit, man.
Nah, you don't need a suit.
He's talking school right there.
That's cool.
That's cool.
Don't come.
Don't dress like I did, though.
I pulled up like this to work, bro.
I was out of pocket.
I was out of pocket.
How you pull up?
Yeah, I was out of pocket.
You got to tell me that story.
You got to come on.
You got to tell me.
What happened? You say you. So I was working for the Hawks, man. I was a scout pocket. How you pull up? Yeah, I was out of pocket. You got to tell me that story. You got to come on. You got to tell me. What happened?
You say you.
So I was working for the Hawks, man.
I was a scout.
My first meeting, we had a six-hour day.
I pulled up in an outfit like this.
Everybody else came with polos, suits.
I was still in hoop mode.
You know what I mean?
I'm still thinking I'm the guy.
Like, yeah, I'm about to walk in.
We're about to chill.
We're about to do these meetings.
And I'm forgetting that I'm on the other side of the basketball now.
I'm in the front office.
I don't get on the court.
So I was all out of pocket.
I felt so out of place.
I'm looking at everybody.
I'm trying to get up and get water.
So they won't sit in the back.
So they won't notice me.
But, nah, I was out of pocket.
But I knew that wasn't for me.
Nah, I knew it wasn't for me.
That was your first, I mean, outside of the Myers situation, that was your first time
getting a job?
Yeah, that was my first job.
That's why I was working at a grocery store, bro.
So I ain't really, basketball ain't a job to me.
It was like, that's something we would have did for free, right?
But working in the front office, I was like, dang.
Right, I tell people all the time, I ain't make it playing basketball.
I'd have been hooping at the Boys and Girls Club anyway.
Yeah.
Just for fun.
But yeah, man, I say, you know, I just try to, you know what I'm saying?
Obviously I love basketball and always mentoring young guys and guys in college, guys that's,
you know what I'm saying, that's in the league still.
So I'm like, and I'm watching all the games.
So like, man, why not try to, you know what I'm saying, stick around the game and, you
know, being a player and going through every step.
Like I was a starter for four or five years, came off the bench for three, four years. Then I had two years where I was kind of playing, barely not playing.
So, I'm saying I didn't get a taste of everything in the league.
So, why not try to give back being a player?
They need more players, more guys like us that understand what's going on.
And we can relate to the younger guys now.
Because guys coming in at 19, like my first year, like, yeah, he was on the old team too.
But my first year on the team, man, we had like eight dudes that's like 33 and older.
You know what I'm saying?
When I was in Boston.
So now I'm in the league like younger.
And you know what I'm saying?
Just try to bridge that gap.
You know what I'm saying?
Front office. And you know what I'm saying? Some of the players that gap, you know what I'm saying, front office and, you know what I'm saying, some of the players.
I feel like that's something that they need a little bit more of
and, you know, help give a little guidance.
So I feel like, you know what I'm saying,
somebody like me would be a good candidate.
So, you know what I'm saying, if y'all see this.
Tap in.
Hey, listen.
I'm looking for a job.
Hire me.
Nah, straight up.
Listen, next time we do an episode, boss,
we're going to be on your executive office, dog.

That'll be lit.
They ain't going to let us in with them.
They ain't going to let us in with them.
You have to listen to the back of them.
You know what I'm saying?
We're going to get into jail.
That would be cool.
That'd be dope, man.
I hope that happens for you, though.
For sure, man.
Like we said, man, appreciate you sliding in.
Be here and tell the people they can buy some merch. ShopClub520.com, baby. We out for you, though. For sure, man. Like I said, man, appreciate you sliding in here and telling people they can buy some merch.
