I don't know.
I've seen the reports.
Allegedly.
Allegedly.
Allegedly.
Allegedly. Listen, man, so much to get to get to but we gotta get here right straight listen man we you know say had a crazy story a couple weeks ago a wager between you two
you know i'm saying a little off the court activities shout out to d jack we would love
to hear that story from your point of view man so you just talk about a little bit but you know
say you was the facilitator in that situation We'd love to hear how that situation took place, man.
Man, you know,
first of all, shout out to DJ.
DJ, Jack Pot.
My partner still to this day.
But, you know,
at the time,
Bibby was on the team, correct? Yep.
And, you know, T wasn't really
getting a whole lot of minutes, you know what I'm saying, on the team.
You know, he played here and there.
And sometimes he didn't play.
So, you know, D-Jack is probably kind of –
he's still upset about this situation, you know what I'm saying,
on how it transpired.
Get well soon.
It's okay.
You know what I'm saying?
Like you said, get well soon.
But, you know, like, I'm super hospitable.
So, when you come to Atlanta, it's like really Southern hospitality
when you my partner.
You know what I'm saying?
Facts, facts.
So, you know, he was a football player.
So when he came to Atlanta, I used to have a condo.
So it was over there by Lenox.
I'm not going to say the address. You know what I'm saying? But, you know, rest in peace, my homeboy. And so it was over there by Lenox.
I'm not going to say the address.
You know what I'm saying?
But you know, rest in peace, my homeboy,
Belton Rivers used to stay over there.
So, you know, when he came in town, I'd give him a car,
and he could stay over there with his homeboys.
It was like a three-bedroom little condo. So he would come over, like, during, what is it, like, bye weeks?
Yeah, off-season and shit.
Off-season stuff.
So, you know, he came to a game, you know, so he's sitting courtside,
you know, I gave him some tickets.
He looking at Teague not playing.
So, you know, he just probably eyeballing the last couple of guys.
Like, in his mind, like, the last guys, like, that ain't really playing.
Like, he's like, oh, I got T.
So I'm like, no, the fuck you don't, bro.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, so I'm telling him, I'm like, no, the hell you don't.
Like, you don't, you can't beat this nigga.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, man, man going to drag your ass.
You know what I'm saying?
So I'm basically taking up for my teammate.
You know what I'm saying?
You my brother. You my partner. You know what I'm saying? So I'm basically taking up for my teammate, you know what I'm saying? You my brother.
You my partner.
You know what I'm saying?
You are my family.
But, you know, at this time, T is like my rookie.
You know what I'm saying?
He's like my young guy.
I'm molding him to the game.
So I'm like, hell no.
You know what I'm saying?
So he's like, man, Pat, Pat.
Shit, we're bad.
You want to get this? At this point, it's like, okay, you want to give away, what bad? You want to get this?
At this point, it's like, okay, you want to give away free money.
Like, this is free money.
It's just like football.
Like, you catch a little nigga in his prime that ain't playing,
he might have just made a 50-man roster or something like that,
whatever it is.
And I'm sitting back like, man, why he don't never play?
His jersey stay clean.
I can score four out of five on him.
Yeah.
As a DB, like a wide receiver.
I'm a wide receiver.
I can score.
Man, he going to be like, man, well, let's line it up then.
You know what I'm saying?
No, that's a fact.
Okay, you want to hand out free money?
And then what people don't understand is, right, in today's society,
in today's world, a lot of these guys don't gamble.
You know what I'm saying?
So, which is respectable. You know what I'm saying? You know, it causes a lot of these guys don't gamble you know i'm saying so which is
respectable you know i'm saying you know it causes a lot of friction uh you know a lot of people don't
want to pay sometimes when they see them different tabs going out so you know like so they try to
avoid that type of uh atmosphere you know i'm saying which is okay well we do gamble. I have to cut you off. We gamble with DraftKings. The crowd is yours.
But I'm saying like, you know, like back in the day, before –
what is it called?
DraftKings?
Yeah.
Okay, more DraftKings.
More DraftKings.
Okay, you know what I'm saying?
Let's move in.
Let's move in.
They're going to call you.
They're going to call you.
They're going to call you.
So before all that, we was really gambling.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, guys was, like, bringing in.
Hand to hand.
Guys was bringing in hand to hand combat.
Hand to hand combat.
You know what I'm saying?
So, like, hey, look, from other, from, look, he understands this stuff.
So, it was times where recipe shot it low.
It was, like, you know, he had a squad where he you know he he gambled and you know i'm saying and
he came in town see he can't really be mad at this situation because it was another situation
when shot when they was playing video games you feel i'm saying and he was like man i'm finna
i'm finna i'm finna i'm finna gamble shot it low i, man, I'm finna gamble shot of low.
I'm finna gamble shot of low on them and 2K mad.
I'm like, don't do it.
I'm telling his ass like, cause he my partner.
I'm like, look man, them folks got a nigga
that got them right in the nation.
You know what I'm saying?
You ain't got a nigga right in the nation, man.
So they out there making business. You know what I'm saying? You ain't got a nigga right in the nation, man. Stay out of that man's business.
You know what I'm saying?
Stay out of his business.
So he like,
no, we got out of the law.
All right, cool, shit.
So the next day
I come over to the spot,
it's quiet in the motherfucker
that got there.
He on the laptop
trying to, you know,
trying to have the wire,
you know what I'm saying?
Because, you know,
that's another little incident
I was like, look, don't do it. You know what I'm saying? Because, you know, that's another little incident. I was like, look, don't do it.
You know what I'm saying?
But, you know, hey, he can't be mad at this situation
for me wanting to get free money.
At the end of the day, the shit didn't go down.
It didn't go down, so no one needs to be mad at no scenario.
It was just a scenario that happened.
Yeah.
You backed out, which was the smart thing to do.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying? Because somebody probably called your phone like, hey, look, man thing to do. You know what I'm saying?
Because somebody probably called your phone like, hey, look, man, chill out.
You know what I'm saying?
I know that's what probably really happened.
Nah, for sure.
You did your research on-
He was crashing out a lot, though.
You did your research on the big shirt.
The big shirt, Wake Forest team.
You know what I'm saying?
That's what happened.
You got in your bag on that Google.
You know what I'm saying? So don't do that. Nigga said, nah, never mind. I'm saying? That's what happened. You got in your bag on that Google. You know what I'm saying? So don't do that.
Nigga said, nah, never mind.
I'm cool.
Because he crashed out with Meek Mill, too, when he had his artist versus Meek Mill artist.
Oh, yeah.
R.I.P.
The Youngster.
I forgot his name.
Lil Snoop?
Yeah, Lil Snoop.
Lil Snoop.
I remember that was at the pool table.
He was a gambler.
Yeah, yeah.
Lil Snoop got his ass.
And that's another dude that you claim was your man, Zanell.
Yeah. It's in them. Yeah.
It's shit different.
But we love DJ.
Nah, it's all love.
It's all love.
Nah, in fact, you my man.
You my man.
Nah, for real.
I'm a real man.
Nah.
It's cool.
It's just funny.
That was funny, man.
It was just, you know, it was a funny story, you know.
And, you know, that's just, you know, it was a funny story, you know. And, you know, that just, you know, is what it was.

I know a lot of cops, and they get asked all the time,
have you ever had to shoot your gun?
Sometimes the answer is yes.
But there's a company dedicated to a future where the answer will always be no.
Across the country, cops called this taser the revolution.
But not everyone was convinced it was that simple.
Cops believed everything that taser the revolution. But not everyone was convinced it was that simple. Cops believed everything that taser told them.
From Lava for Good and the team that brought you Bone Valley

In a very big way. Real people,
real perspectives.
This is kind of star-studded a little bit, man.
We got Ricky Williams, NFL

a compassionate choice to allow players
all reasonable means
to care for themselves. Music stars
Marcus King, John Osborne

that looked like it might bring down his presidency.
Did you make a mistake in sending arms to Tehran, sir?
No.
No one was let go.
It became known as the Iran-Contra affair.
And I'm not taking any more questions in just a second.
I'm going to ask Attorney General...
I'm Leon Nafok, co-creator of Slow Burn.
In my podcast, Fiasco, Iran Contra,
you'll hear all the unbelievable details of a scandal
that captivated the nation nearly 40 years ago,
but which few of us still remember today.

Shout out to D-Jack, man. Shout out to D-Jack. Hey, man, it's dope to see the growth of both or wherever you do your stuff. My mic still on?
It's on, man.
I'm good, though.
You good?
Yeah, we can edit.
We can edit.
I'm too good about it.
We can edit the shit.
That's what I'm saying.
We can edit.
But you don't have to, though.
We can edit, man.
Yeah, when you in the O.T.M. Jam,
you straight, bro.
You ain't on the wire, my nigga.
You good, bro.
We can edit that.
You know what I'm saying? Somebody was at the gate.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm just trying to.
You feel me.
Had less money in the castle, for sure.
Like we said, a year full circle moment, man.
Obviously, you've been on him since he was a rook.
He being the head coach, our alma mater.
You know what I'm saying?
You had the dad dudes as a coach, especially with the AU programs.
How was that transition?
Like, you know what I'm saying?
Because you got to talk about the daddy life.
You got your, you know what I'm saying,
short of going to college now.
You got your kids in the program growing up for you.
You know what I'm saying?
Probably getting to it.
How is that going a year later for both of y'all,
especially to see him being the head coach?
I mean, it's just our transition.
You know, it just shows the world that we still love the game of basketball.
Yeah.
And we're willing to pass on pretty much free information.
If he's a head coach at a high school, it's damn near free information.
For sure.
It's like, this is what I keep telling the parents of my program.
It's like, where you want to get your kids to.
You want to get them to the NBA? Okay, cool.
If you want to get them to the NBA, it's like
answers to a test.
You know what I'm saying? We have the answers
to the test. So it's like
you want to take a test
blindly
not dealing with guys like me and T.
You get what I'm saying? Or guys like
Rayjean Rondo and other guys like that. You know what I'm saying or guys like Rajon Rondo and other guys
like that you know what I'm saying so if there's guys that are willing to come down and really
basically give you it's not it's like it's costing us more to be in a situation dealing with
your kids and surrounding and putting putting them down on different information because it's
not only about showing them the X's and O's and showing them how on different information because it's not only about showing
them the X's and O's and showing them how to be a basketball player. When they're around us,
we're showing them how to be men too. You know what I'm saying? Like how to carry themselves
because that shit matters too. Absolutely. You know what I'm saying? If you listen to a lot of
these pro athletes that are on these platforms,
they'll tell you that
the guys that were in their class
that were the coldest, they didn't
make it. You know what I'm saying?
And they the ones that made it, so what is that
telling you? What is that telling you?
That's true.
Like, they was telling me
that T-Brother was better than him.
I'm trying to, you know what I mean?
So I'm like, you know, he's a great player, you know what I'm saying?
But, you know, like, those are big shoes to fill when you get to talk
in different comparisons with guys that are ahead of you in life.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, I got three sons.
So I don't want nobody to say, okay, oh, Jed is better than
Josh because it's like, shit.
Not Josh. It's like, man,
you got me fucked up. You know what I'm saying?
Like, it's real talk. But
it's not like, I know
like, when you get to that
stage, when you have different sons,
you teach them to let them know that they're
not competing with each other as well.
It's kind of like a healthy thing though.
Cause my mom,
people will say like,
your brother is better.
I'm like,
shit,
cool.
He better than me.
We about to be straight.
That's why I'm like,
cool.
I'm like,
Lord,
because people don't understand the pressure that like every year,
like a guy that makes it past i'm gonna say
six seven years in the league you got to respect that you got to respect that guy because
man they're printing a new him every year that's a fact they're printing a new him i like like
that's like that's what that's what people got to understand. Like, once they find out that you have something different,
they're trying to find you in another person.
Because they know that they have to drop the bag on you
and they don't want to do it.
You know what I'm saying?
That's why, like, just like Denver would never be the same.
You know what I'm saying?
And that's because you lose guys like Contavious, Caldwell, Pope. You know what I'm saying? And that's because you lose guys like Contavious, Caldwell, Pope.
You know what I'm saying?
Like guys that can still play another eight years in this league
at the pace that he's playing.
Because all you're asking him to do is be a 3 and D.
And he's a more capable player, but if you ask him to do that,
that creates more longevity in his career.
You know what I'm saying? I agree. If you ask him to do that, that creates more longevity in his career. Absolutely.
You know what I'm saying?
I agree.
It's kind of hard.
And he's a hell of a floor spacer.
But they ruined that because, like you said,
they think they can find that in somebody else.
Absolutely.
Okay, the league is a copycat league, you know what I'm saying,
which is probably like the NFL, MLB, too.
Once they find out a team won an NBA championship, that's the norm.
Yeah.
Until they find out it's only one Steph Curry.
Yeah.
It's only fucking one Klay Thompson.
Nah, honey.
You know what I'm saying? So, it's like, win the championship on how you going to win it.
You know what I'm saying?
Win it.
So, they didn't learn that shit from the L it. You know what I'm saying? Win it. They didn't learn that shit from the Lakers.
You know what I'm saying?
When they had brought
Dwight and JaVale McGee in there
and they seen
that they needed those two guys
in order to defeat Nikola Jokic,
then
they won the championship. They felt like
okay, we got
we could just
we could just get like
two stale bigs
in their eyes
like that can just rebound
that we can
we can basically make
you know
we can make puppets
and
and we can get it done again
we don't gotta pay these guys
we ain't gotta pay these guys
they can just
two young guys
they can do the same thing
I wanted to ask you like
um
you had
Anthony Edwards for the people that don't know absolutely at a young age how does it feel two young guys that can do the same thing. I wanted to ask you, like, you had Anthony
Edwards, for the people that don't know.
At a young age, how does it feel,
bro, to see him where he at right now?
Man, it feel amazing,
man. Because you had him as a youngster, bro.
On the court, yeah. I mean,
I caught him, like,
you know, kind of his senior year
in high school, but it was
like, you know, it was a lot of hats in the pot.
You know what I'm saying?
A lot of hands in that pot.
You know what I'm saying?
So when I got to him, I knew that, you know,
all I could do was basically give him the information
of, like, what he was facing, what he was about to face.
You know what I'm saying? Like, it was just like from the standpoint of, you know, like,
bro, you're going to be one of the faces of the NBA.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, X, Y, and Z, like, this is how you got to handle it.
Because, you know, he one of them trench babies.
See, what people understand is like he can really have a – really, like, make some money off of his story.
He got a hell of a story.
I think his mom passed away when he was, like, 13, 14 years old.
Father really never been around.
And then, like, you know, his sister and his brother had to raise him.
And then you got to imagine, they was like 18, 19 years old.
Yeah, ain't too much older than him.
So he's 13.
So the decision that he's making in life, you can't fault him for it
because he's figuring out the shit pretty much on his own.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, you know, I know he's been going viral and a lot of, like,
different things in his off-the-court life, but you can't fault him.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, the man is really, like, figuring out how to be a man on his own.
How did you discover him, though?
Like, how did he come across your path?
You know, like, the NBA, like I said, I wanted to get into coaching.
I know you say you're a high school coach.
I'm an AU coach.
And, you know, I want to do college and pros.
But right now I'm cool with this.
I got a couple of guys that are really special right now.
So I want to kind of like lock in with that.
But I was at the Top 100 camp.
You know that?
So I was at the Top 100 camp, and then he was like, I want to say,
a sophomore going to be a junior.
And he just destroyed the camp.
Like, he was from Atlanta.
He looked like the best kid there.
Like, guys that was, that was already seniors and all
that. And then that's when
that summer, that's when
he got that traction. So that's when
he reclassified
up. So when he
reclassified up... A lot of people don't know that.
Yeah, a lot of people don't know that. He reclassified up.
He moved up. I don't know
if he reclassified back
earlier.
That's what Boone Flag did. And then moved back to his grave.
That's what Cooper Flagg did, though.
That's what Cooper Flagg did.
Nah, 100%. So, you know, you'll never see a 17U highlight from Cooper Flagg.
No, you won't.
Because he was kicking niggas' asses at 16.
Nah, really.
So, like, don't get it twisted.
So, um.
I didn't know that either.
Yeah, so, so know, he reclassified up off of the, you know,
the traction he gained from that summer because he destroyed the summer.
Yeah.
And he reclassified up, and then he went to a school right down the street
from my house, and I would just basically kind of, like,
give him information on what to expect future-wise.
Because I'm always thinking like five years, ten years ahead of the curve.
Like that's my problem.
Like I'm not always living in the moment.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm always thinking about what's next.
What's next?
You know what I'm saying?
Ten years.
You know what I'm saying?
Five, ten years.
I'm always thinking that's how I think.
That's how I break down life. You know what I'm saying? 10 years. You know what I'm saying? Five, 10 years. I'm always thinking that's how I think. That's how I break down life.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, I know like, you know, YOLO and all that stuff.
But it's like, hey, man, look, I get it.
You know what I'm saying?
But I'm trying to live for tomorrow just in case it happens.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, I'm that type of individual.
So I was, you know, I was just was just kind of you know putting them down on the
information and uh he's a guy that's thriving right now um i knew that he was going to be one
of the faces of the nba uh what people don't understand is uh what people don't know is he
was committed to florida state and i kind of let him understand the importance of going to Georgia, being
around his family, you know what I'm saying?
You need to stay locked in.
I didn't get a dime from that, you know what I'm saying?
I'm a Georgia fan, so I kind of like-
Allegedly.
Allegedly.
No, no, no.
That's a legend.
No, that's a statement.
That's a fact.
This is a fact.
This is a fact.
I ain't going to never take no lies.
If I'm lying, I'm flying it.
You know what I'm saying?
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish.
I wish. I'm saying this shit too now, you know what I'm saying? So, yeah. You know what I'm saying?
That's what really happened, you know?
So I just wanted to see the Georgia basketball organization get back on their feet.
So they back to being on something that I can brag about now.
But what he did was he did some trailblazer shit. So a lot of people are known for going to different organizations
and different schools because of the name.
But, you know, he did the right thing.
Yeah, I just wanted you to speak on that because you was a big staple
in his career, like his career path, bro, so for sure.
And something interesting you said, you said always living in the moment,
think about what's coming next.
And even though people had their feelings about it,
but you always adjusted.
Like you said, all right,
if I'm playing this league going forward,
I got to be able to stretch the floor.
And that's something he always spoke about earlier.
Yeah, that's why I was shooting the motherfucking threes.
You see?
Josh passed the ball!
Josh!
Josh!
Now you know I'm telling him.
You know what I'm saying?
T was a scoring guard,
so that's what people don't understand.
That's why he used to have to get on his ass. You know what I'm saying? Look, man, kick scoring guard, so that's what people don't understand. That's why he used to have to get on his ass.
You know what I'm saying?
Look, man, kick that motherfucker back.
Because he was an athletic-ass guard.
So, look, I was setting the screen to get me the ball back.
You know what I'm saying?
So, he would be like, slip out, hell no.
Look, I used to be brawling his head on the screen.
Like, man, I'm finna lean it.
Look, watch how Draymond Green set screens.
That's how he used to say screen.
Damn near illegal.
Yeah.
Every screen was damn near illegal.
I'm moving into some shit.
Because Josh trying to get that pill back.
I want the pill.
I want the ball.
He forced it to double.
See, what's a team?
Can you contest that?
90% of the offense
was ran through Joe Johnson?
Oh, definitely.
All right, then.
So, shit.
So, then.
So, then. you got to understand,
7%
was Al Horford.
You know what I'm saying?
That means
it was like
a little bit left.
Well, that 3%,
I need that.
No,
we was fighting
for that 3%.
It ain't not needed.
It's like, shit.
How can I get this shit
that will put me, me, you know what I'm saying? Marvin Williams. Marvin shit. How can I get this shit? That one point. Me.
Me.
You know what I'm saying?
Harvey Williams.
You know what I'm saying?
And Jamal, too.
That's tough.
Holy shit, that was crazy.
You know what I'm saying?
So we already knew when Jamal came in, he cutting the percentage in half.
You know what I'm saying?
He like, nigga, nah, 50% is me.
You know what I'm saying?
I already scanned the room.
I already scanned the arena.
You four got to know I'm Hooper. Nah, for sure. You four got to know I take the shots, man. For sure. I'm saying? I already scanned the room. I already scanned the arena. You four got to know I'm Hooper.
Nah, for sure.
You four got to know I take the shots, man.
For sure.
I'm shooting shots, man.
How do you feel about, like, the young generation growing up?
You in the AAU world now, like, do you think it's like a, I don't know,
like a gap between, like, the NBA and the youngsters, like,
so far as, like, where they learning from,
like the learning curve.
Absolutely.
It's a lot of bad basketball,
man.
Yeah.
It's a lot of bad basketball.
And my son coughing.
You good?
We good?
Nah,
you ain't no good.
That's all right.
That's family shit.
It's all right.
You good,
buddy?
Okay.
It's a lot of,
it's a lot of bad basketball,
man.
And,
and to overcompensate the bad basketball,
parents are reclassifying their kids thinking that that is the answer.
You know what I'm saying?
And then what they don't understand is that it's an oversaturation
and kids working your kids out, trainers.
You know what I'm saying?
Speak on the gift and the curse, though.
I don't know if I spoke on this.
The gift and the curse is that the trainer is available.
You know what I'm saying?
The curse is, is it translating?
Is what I'm showing your kid translating to the court? You know what I'm showing your kid translating to the core.
You know what I'm saying?
Because in reality, all of these trainers are training these kids
to over-dribble, and they can't.
Like, I swear, like, I bet T could go to his practice
and it's no more ones and twos no more.
I went to my son's practice and I love the decision that I made
in taking him to this school and his developing because the coach is so detailed.
But it's sad because he's happened to go to seven and saying twos and threes.
Gotcha.
Instead of ones and twos.
Right, right, right.
Because you motherfuckers can't score tomorrow.
Because they too busy goddamn dribbling their motherfucking life away.
They dribbling their fucking life away.
And then they can't shoot threes.
And then, you know, they can't shoot threes and then you know because they can't shoot threes
and then when they get to the
hole they can't make layups
so it's like
it's like
it's showing the kid like damn
I really need to work on my game
y'all doing twos and threes and sevens
I need to work on my game now
I'm going to put you down like
the reclass situation, it only works middle school, elementary school.
Now, come on, let's be honest.
I got an eye, bro.
You got an eye, too.
So you know what these recruiters are looking at.
You know what these scouts are looking at. You know what these
scouts are looking at.
What's your mom and daddy
height look like?
Why are you holding
these kids back
and you know these
motherfuckers are going
to be 5'5"?
You know they'm all
goddamn six and girls.
This is real game, bro.
Where's the six and girls?
You got six and girls?
And he a boy.
You know what I'm saying?
He can't get no
black 40s.
He can't get no black 40s.
He can't get no,
he can't, he can't get the D1 crash outs. no black 40s. He can't get the D1 crash outs.
Nah, for sure.
He can't get the D1 crash outs.
So we trying to figure it out, man.
That's a fact.
So what's the...
Okay, so I got you.
Like, so say you got a 6'4", 12-year-old.
Yeah.
Are you going to reclassify him lower? Hell nah.
If he sad though, if he fucking garbage.
Look, jump in that deep end.
Jump in that deep end and learn how to swim.
Yeah, give him the game, Josh.
You wanna always play in the shallow end?
Females don't like niggas
that play in the shallow end, smashing and shit.
They like niggas that deep in that...
They want a nigga jumping
in that 13-foot. They like a nigga that's still big as shit. They like a nigga that's deep in that. They want a nigga jumping in a 13-footer.
They want a Michael Phelps.
Do you know how to swim or not?
I just want you to get the game, my nigga.
We all let DJ do his job, but I just want you to get the game.
No, we here, baby.
We here.
I want you to get the game.
I'm just saying, though, man, is you going to jump in the deep end or not?
Yeah.
You got to learn how to swim.
That's an analogy.
Don't get too far deep into what I just said on some freaky shit.
Just think about what I'm talking about.
We're talking about basketball.
We're talking about basketball.
Not so fast.
It's like my son now, right?
He's 6'5".
He in the 10th grade.
That man was like Bambi legs.
It was like Bambi.
It was like raising Bambi.
It was like I had to create real patience in my life.
I'm like, damn, do he really want to play basketball?
But he wanted to play.
He just wasn't me at the time.
You know what I'm saying?
Our kids are different.
You know what I'm saying?
They raised different.
They come from different circumstances. So it's a different type of field. like our kids are different you know i'm saying they raised different they're they're they come
from different like circumstances so it's a different type of feel like them them yans
popping their shit they like hey man broke ass nigga man all right man my nigga hey my dad
put me on right now what you want what my, hey, hey, hey, hey, dad. Hey, hey, dad.
T, little A, man.
Pull up in that goddamn seat.
That motherfucker, the Mercedes motherfucker.
Right.
Yeah, the Maybach.
Yeah, pull up in that.
Yeah, come on, man.
Like, so it's like, your son.
Man, pull up in the down.
We pulling up in the truck.
Man, stop all that crap, man.
You going 520 is popping out.
He going to be in that shit in season one. He going to be in that shit in season one.
He going to be in that shit on season one, man.
The man ain't going to be down.
Let's move.
He had a chance season one.
They want to say, look, look.
Look, look.
This is what you was going to say.
That's mad, Al.
That's mad.
I just got a new whip, though.
The man get ordered from Noble, Atlanta.
You know what I'm saying?
The man plays the orders from Noble, Atlanta, man.
Don't play with the rich baby, man.
So he having rich babies.
So it's like at this point, you know, they popping it different.
You know what I'm saying?
So you got to kind of reel it in, you know, a little bit
and let them know that you, you know, you still want to raise,
you know, a humble individual.
Right. But, you know, it's kind of raise a, you know, a humble individual. Right.
But, you know, it's kind of hard because it's like, man,
how can you raise a humble individual when, number one,
he has your blood in you?
So imagine when you didn't have nothing, you still were popping it.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
You still was popping it when you had nothing.
For sure.
Now this is like a 2.0 of you.
You know what I'm saying?
And he having it. Yeah. So, you know You know what I'm saying? And he having.
Yeah.
So, you know.
Listen, we're going to talk about Detroit A's.
But I got to ask both of y'all this question.
Shout out to my dog, JG, for asking me this.
Y'all remember the time when Woody shaved his eyebrow and tried to put a fake one on? Oh, man.
Oh, God.
Yeah.
For the press conference?
Yes.
Yes.
I do remember that.
That was our rare question of the week.
You remember that when we used to rip his? See, people don't used to know. We used to rip his shirt. We used to remember that. That was my rare question of the week. You remember that when we used to rip his...
See, people don't used to know.
We used to rip his shirt.
We used to rip that dry fit off.
Yeah.
We used to rip that dry fit off.
Wait, what?
Man had a dry fit.
Used to have the dry fit shirts.
Used to break that thing down.
Used to rip that motherfucker off.
He had that Austin Powers.
Look, Woody got that Austin Powers.
He got that shit.
Hey, man.
You can braid that shit. Why you want some of this got that shit. Hey, man. You can brain that shit.
Why you want some of that?
I know.
Hey, man.
Indiana.
Hey, look.
Shout out to Indiana, man.
You know what I'm saying?
I was supposed to go there.
You know, the NIL bag.
It wasn't the same.
It wasn't the same.
It wasn't the same.
Nah, bro.
He had the Al Sharpton jacket on.
No, he had the little Hawks.
These is me,
Hawks,
drop it,
rebound.
These was
whichever sponsor
did Nas Nike.
He used to
rip that thing.
He used to
just rip
his shirt.
He used to
rip that shit
off.
He used to
leave the
practice looking
like,
all right,
it was like
a text,
like,
all right,
y'all stop
ripping the
coach's shirt
off.
I'm like,
shit,
I did that
shit.
My boy
Woody,
man.
I was looking
like,
what happened with his eyebrows? He shaved it off and then he tried to put a fake one I'm like, shit, I did that shit. My boy Woody, man. He was looking like Ron Artest after the brawl.
What happened with his eyebrows?
They say he shaved it off,
and then he tried to put a fake one on for a press conference.
What happened was he a cigar smoker.
You know what I'm saying?
So what happened was he had one of them flame cigars.
So he bent down, and then he tried to like, you feel me?
He tried to hit the flame and it just
went crazy.
It caught one of them.
It caught one of them. Boom.
Blew it off.
The flame blew it off. Right?
So then he couldn't go
with the one.
He couldn't go with the one.
You know what I'm saying?
So then like,
you know, I got a sense of humor. You know what I'm saying? So he had the Steve Harvey opera. So then, like, you know, I got a sense of humor.
You know what I'm saying?
So what I did was I cut the Velcro.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm like, man, we're going to just put the Velcro in your head.
You know what I'm saying?
See, it's just like, but the technology is so bad,
the picture fucked up.
You know what I'm saying?
Because I think it was flip. We just started getting from flip to the.
It was just bad. You know what I'm saying? Because I think it was Flip or we just started getting from Flip to the Rizzo.
It was just bad.
It was a good time for him,
bad time for us, though. Yeah.
But our stories are amazing, though.
I love our stories
because it's like, imagine it.
Nah, we had Bibi on the show.
We was talking about how
you and him used to mess with Mo.
Oh, my God.
Yeah, y'all hung that nigga close.
Y'all retired the truth.
That nigga is funny, bro. He is the definition
of a frugal nigga.
That nigga used to... That nigga did not...
That nigga...
Man.
I gotta say it, bro. I gotta say it.
Go ahead, bro. Y'all can edit this shit out of there.
No, we can't.
Okay, look, man. He was so broke.
He let it, I mean, so cheap.
Not broke.
He was cheap at the time.
Yeah, he was cheap.
He let that girl go on the T-Pain music video.
Y'all like, boy, Atlanta fucked up.
I'm going to buy you a drink.
I told you I'd give it to you.
What the fuck the movie?
Damn, man.
What was the fucking music video?
What was the music video?
I'm going to shine the moment.
I ain't saying cap.
Bro!
I said give me the garage call.
Bro, shit.
They'll buy you the drink.
We're going to buy you the drink. Fuck it.
I'm going to take you home with me. I got money in the drink. We're going to buy you drinks. Fuck it. I'm going to take you home with me.
That was it.
That was it.
That was it.
That was the one.
That was the one.
Shut up.
That was the one.
My nigga was cheap, man.
That nigga wear them same jeans, bro.
She bad, nigga, man.
With the yarn on the back.
He's not waiting for Willis and Walgo to pop in.
Then he had them Willis and Walgo's on.
Yep.
Man's coming to motherfucker. On my mark.
Man, he's a coming up with them wide bodies.
He's a coming up with them wide bodies.
Ball head motherfucker.
See, I used to fuck with him because he had no mustache.
Yeah, me too.
I used to fuck with him because I'm like, man.
Hey, you remember that joke?
He joked all day, bro.
I cannot trust a nigga without a mustache.
On my mark.
Where's your stache?
It's like the comic nigga.
What the fuck is your stache, man?
He played too much.
I was telling him I used to throw paper and shit at Woody while he was doing the pregame speech and shit.
No, man.
I used to do a little something.
Yeah, absolutely.
I got to remember these stories, man.
The stories that you put up, I watch this shit every day.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm like, damn.
You remember Phil Jackson?
That shit with Phil Jackson, don't you?
Yes, bro.
I'll see you later, bro.
Hey, that was probably my problem.
I'm a playful nigga, man, but I'm a loyal nigga, though.
You know what I'm saying?
So, like, teammate-wise, I I'm gonna be a hell of a teammate I might I might talk some shit now a little bit but like when um T was when T
was my um when he was young I bought him some suits yeah remember uh Wayne I I nigga the five
six suits you know what I'm saying like bought me a g-shock ice out g-shock yeah i saw g-shock we'll go to we'll go to uh we'll go
places wherever we travel we'll catch some lunch you know i'm saying we'll chop it up like i would
just you know i'm saying i don't know like antoine walker was my veteran you know i'm saying so
walker so shout out to him man he um showed you the ropes? Man, he showed me the ropes, man. He showed me what to do and what not to do.
What's crazy is he was my vet,
but I didn't realize Nick was only two years older than me.
Right.
I used to be like, come on, young fella.
And then one day he's like, yeah, I'm 23.
What the fuck?
You might have already did four years in the league.
Yeah.
He was my vet. We damn near the got there. Yeah. That was my bet.
We damn near the same.
I'm like, hell no.
So it really came like big brother, little brother.
We would argue all the time.
I'd be like, man, fuck that.
It was definitely an argument.
Yeah.
What made you gravitate towards Teague, though?
Because he was our point guard of the future.
Yeah.
And shout out to Bibby.
I love Bibby. But I just knew
T was more like
of the
little nigga I needed.
You know what I'm saying? Because he's going to play
a little defense. He's going to pop his shit.
In the beginning.
In the beginning, yeah.
You got to look.
The only script
in the NBA is you got to act for the money.
You got to act like you want to do some shit.
All that script shit, all that.
It was planted.
No, nigga.
Look, man.
What role you need me to play?
Look, man.
Look, man.
I'm starring in this movie, and I need to play the hell of a role.
If I don't play this fucking role, man, it's another nigga that can play this role.
It's not about
you think somebody is gonna
play that long
that much basketball
to think, oh, they gonna hand you a script
when you get
drafted. Like, all right, now look, this is
how it's gonna go for the next five years.
No. Shit.
Either you gonna fall into this role
or this team
or your ass is grass, my nigga.
That's the point.
You're grass or you're going to
fall into this role. It's simple.
Yeah. I ain't going to lie, but I appreciate
you because you ain't
falling into the role. You'd be like, man, fuck
that shit. Yeah, I definitely did,
man. But you know,
that's why I'm 13. That's why I was
13 years and out of that motherfucker.
Yeah!
That's why I'm a motherfucker, though.
And you was a killer. I'm thankful that I
played 13 years, but, you know, like,
I knew that
I had something that they needed.
You know what I'm saying? I just didn't have
Steph Curry and Klay Thompson.
Yeah.
They could just shoot
the leather off that motherfucker.
Like, I had a nigga
that could get to the paint,
dunk on a nigga,
light tea,
straps,
play some defense.
That nigga was playing defense
when he was young.
He was playing some defense.
You know what I'm saying?
He said he was thirsty.
You know what I'm saying?
He was thirsty.
He was a thirsty ass nigga.
You know what I'm saying?
He said he was thirsty.
He wasn't thirsty for the hoes,
but he was thirsty for the show.
He wanted the show.
I love the show.
I love the show, bro.
No, he wanted the show, man.
He never wanted the hoes.
He wanted the show.
I'm telling you.
Now, that shit going to come.
All that shit going to come on the back end.
But his necessity was how do I get Bibby out of this motherfucker?
You know what I'm saying?
Get Bibby the fuck out of here.
Okay, you don't want to play fucking defense?
Because, look, we used to have, look, we used to talk shit, bro.
Like, we used to watch film, talk shit on the plane.
And niggas like, man, goddamn, Bibby, you going to play fucking defense today?

how you got Ivan Johnson on the team, man.
Even though the team let him go,
he was one of the reasons why he was still a letter hawk.
Absolutely.

The first crash out of the NBA.
The first D1 crash out of the NBA.
International.
I hear international crash out of the NBA.
International plus D1.
Nah, but give us the game on how you, like,
him save his career, though, for that stint.
Started, really, in the 80s.
Yeah, it was like, what people don't know,
we had a guy, like, named Mario West.
Mm-hmm.
And, uh...
Number six.
So, we was, like, talking to him greasy.
This nigga had a gooseneck jumper.
Like, it was, like, one... It was crazy. Like, it a gooseneck jumper. It was like one.
It was crazy.
Like it was like, so we was like, he had a hell of a camp.
So it's always like when you go to camp,
it's always like one dude that's going to make the team that's not on the team.
It depends on how he handles it, how well he plays,
when his name is called, different things.
You know what I'm saying?
So he fit all the modes.
Like Mario fit all the modes.
He was a great, great teammate.
Like played hard defensively.
All these things.
So that's why he made it.
You know what I'm saying?
And like Alvin Johnson was the total opposite. all these things. So that's why he made it. You know what I'm saying? Like,
Alvin Johnson was the total opposite.
This nigga was just a good basketball player. That nigga,
that nigga was gangster.
This nigga was gangster.
I never,

it's some hood in San Antonio. It gotta be nigga. You know what I'm saying? I was like, oh, it's some hood in San Antonio.
It's got to be some.
He was the first nigga that came
in the league with a grill.

he was tearing
niggas' asses up in
camp in Malonte.
He was tearing niggas' asses up.
Niggas were scared. He was drooling. You knowes up. Niggas were scared. Nigga, he was drooling.
Like, you know, like, you want a nigga that, like, come on, bro.

How bad do you want it?
This nigga done this goddamn foaming at the mouth, nigga, for this last shit.
You know what I mean?
Nigga's an elbow on nigga's nigga defense.
So I'm like, boy, we got to have this dude.
We got to have this guy.
So they cut the nigga because they was like
kind of,
kind of fearful of the nigga.
You know what I'm saying?
So,
I'm like,
I lied and shit.
Like,
I got him.
I got him.
I got him.

Fuck what school
he went to.

But showed up anyway.
Showed up like, I'm here.
Yeah.
And Smooth was like, nah, he's supposed to make the team, bro.
Fuck with that man.
He was like, nah, he killed, bro.
He's supposed to be on his team.
Then when he got on the team, was you on the plane with Jason Collins?
Was it?
No, not Jason Collins.
John, what was it?
Who was on our team? Oh, my God. One of the twins? The twins. Yes, it was No, not Jason. John, what was it? Who was on our team?
Oh, my God.
One of the twins?
The twins.
Yes, it was.
Jason.
Jason.

He Googled the nigga.
He Googled the nigga.
Jason from like, he from Stanford.
Stanford.
So, you know, he like professional white university.
He like, they're going to Google.
So, he Googled his ass.

Do you see this?
He's banned from Japan.
He's not banned from Japan.
He's banned from Euro.
He's banned from Euro League.
I'm like, bro, chill out, bro.
You got that jump on your big ass.
Yeah, jump on your big ass. You don't get a reason you're banned from bro, chill out, bro. Jump on your big ass.
You don't get rich if you bad on the NBA.

A lot of times the big economic forces we hear about on the news show up in our lives in small
ways. Three or four days a week, I would buy two cups of banana pudding, but the price has gone up,
so now I only buy one. The demand curve in action. And that's just one of the things we'll
be covering on Everybody's Business from Bloomberg Businessweek. I'm Max Chavkin.
And I'm Stacey Vanek-Smith. Every Friday, we will be diving into the biggest stories in business,
taking a look at what's going on, why it matters, and how it shows up in our everyday lives.
But guests like Businessweek editor Brad Stone, sports reporter Randall Williams, and consumer spending expert Amanda Mull will take you inside the boardrooms, the backrooms, even the signal chats that make our economy tick.
Hey, I want to learn about VeChain. I want to buy some blockchain or whatever it is that they're doing.

I know a lot of cops, and they get asked all the time, have you ever had to shoot your gun?
Sometimes the answer is yes.
But there's a company dedicated to a future where the answer will always be no.
Across the country, cops called this taser the revolution. But not everyone was
convinced it was that simple. Cops believed everything that taser told them. From Lava for

And then all the guys was kind of around at that time.
Smooth came up to me and I was hanging out with Marvin at this time.
And Smooth came to me.
And he like, hey, man, what you going to do, man?
That's what she's talking about.
He was like, man, I'm from here, man.
I know what the fuck going on, bro.
I'm like, wait.
I couldn't really understand where I'm from.
They like, what's going on, bro?
What the fuck you doing, bro?
I'm like, oh, what you mean?
It's all the way. He like, look, man, you doing wrong shit, man. I'm going to show you what the's going on, bro? What the fuck you doing, bro? I'm like, oh, what's the deal?
He's like, look, man, you doing the wrong shit, man.
I'm going to show you what the fuck going on.
You're going out with me tonight, bro.
I mean, Marv was kind of pie.
You know what I'm saying?
You know, pie is lame.
So he was like, no, shout out to Marv.
You know what I'm saying?
Look, y'all like to do that.
Shout out to Marv.
I love Marv.
It was really like, you know, North Carolina whooped them.
They went on to whoop that baby.
Yeah.
So it's like, I had to come here and like, hey, man, look,
this is a player's league.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, you go from coach's league to player's league.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, college is a coach's league.
NBA is a player's league.
So come on, man, look.
Hey, man, look, you're hanging out with the wrong one,
man. You know what I'm saying?
This man going to show you some cap. He going to show you how to read a book.

We're stepping into professionalism, man.
Let me get you up to speed on this shit so you won't be out here looking crazy.
Because you're a product of me. Absolutely. You know here looking crazy. Because you're a product of me.
Absolutely.
You a product of me. I can't have you out here looking crazy. Absolutely.
I told him the story when I came in.
It's my rookie year. I came in with a girl
to the club. And they
pulled me to the side. You put your arm around
me. You said, listen, y'all fella.
Everybody know her.
I said, what you mean? He said, look around. Everybody know her. I said, listen, y'all, fella, everybody know her. I said, what you mean?
He said, look around.
Everybody know her.
I said, damn.
I'm talking about a stranger.
I was with her all the time.
And we always talk about the last thing on the train section.
And her man's ruined.
We're not even going to talk about the teammate.
We're not even going to talk about the teammate.
We're not even going to discuss the teammate in this situation.
So my man's, my man's...
So,
it's levels to everything.
So, like...
And this is what's wrong with these females today.
Yeah. These niggas is getting
too much money too early.
So, it's like, you know, when I came
in the league, it was...
Oh, I ain't fucking with your young ass you ain't got
cause it was the paper you know what I'm saying
you know what I'm saying it was the paper
so I'm like I never knew
oh you cute but I can't fuck with you
it was levels
so then boom when I got to this level
okay I had access
to you know what I'm saying
so it's like
I understood.
It ain't got shit to do with me.
I'm bigger than, this shit bigger than me.
You know what I'm saying?
This shit is bigger than me.
You know what I'm saying?
So what I wasn't going to allow my nigga to do was
that my partner was fucking. What I wasn't going to allow my nigga to do was
that my partner was fucking.
You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying?
You know what I'm saying?
You know what I'm saying?
You can't put up with that.
Look, what my damn name is.
I ain't saying that.
What the freak nigga?
What the freak nigga?
Freaking Mike.
Yeah, freaking Mike.
Freaking Mike, you can ask this shit to freaking Mike if you want to.
Nah, I'll say it. Shout out to Luis. Shout out to freaking Mike, yeah. Freaking Mike. Freaking Mike can get his shit. Freaking Mike can want to. Nah, I said shout out to Luis.
Shout out to Freaking Mike.
You know what I mean?
It's your aura. That guy's talking freaky.
So anyway, so
um
So Jim walk into the club.
Jim walk into the club.
You know what I'm saying?
Fuck you, bitch. You know what I'm saying?
Fuck you, funky bitch. This my man.
I'm going to throw your ass under bus. Bitch, you a speed bitch. You know what I'm saying? Because fuck you, funky bitch. This is my man. Right.
I'm going to throw your ass under, bud.
Bitch, you a speed bump.
Yes. I'm going to put your ass right up on that motherfucker.
Boop.
Because I can't wait to have my mans looking like a player.
Because you a player.

You's a real player, bro.
So, Josh, we here now.
I know y'all.
We all over the place.
This is family talk.
We just rambling.
Yes, sir.
We can bring it back together with Mike.
No.
No, for sure. He going to talk to Mike just rambling. Yes, sir. We can bring it back together with Mike. No. No, for sure.
We're going to talk with Mike all of this.
Yeah.
Not yet.
Not yet.
Not yet.
So what game do you have for the youngin', the 22, 23-year-old,
getting two, 300 million?
Mm.
And he's dealing with the, say he's in a,
because ain't no nigga in Utah Getting no kushi rope
Yeah
Yeah
But I'm talking about the younger
Getting 300 million in LA
Atlanta
It don't matter where you at
Houston
Dallas
But I'm just saying
Those are the premier
You know just
Stay focused kid
There we go
You know what I'm saying
Stay focused
Lock in kid
Lock in
You know what I'm saying
Just lock in That's all I'm saying? Just lock in.
You know what I'm saying, man?
Yeah.
Keep the main thing the main thing.
That was basketball.
Yeah.
Right?
When they want to talk about politics,
veer that shit back into basketball.
Yes, sir.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, nobody cares about what your personal thoughts are.
You know what I'm saying?
And what I got to say about this mental health shit.
Can I talk about that?
Go crazy.
Bro, stop admitting to that shit
because they're going to write your fucking ass off.
Stop admitting to it.
On me.
If you admit, like,
the only reason that a black kid
that makes it to the NBA is mental health
is because
they're there because
they're not there
because of basketball.
Be there because of basketball.
You have mental health
because people are walking past you
not asking for an autograph.
Or these females are not
they're not accessible
like they used to be.
Or the internet
fucking with your brain.
You get what I'm saying?
Yeah. So like that's mental that's where your mental health kicks in at.
You're not really mental health.
Lock in.
Lock back in, man.
Find your purpose.
I mean, but some people deal with some traumas from, like, childhood and...
From basketball?
Nah, but...
How do you get that far?
And then now it's mental health.
Like, real people
go through that stuff. Nah. Like,
real people go through, like,
I get it, okay, if you've been molested,
right? Yeah. If you've been, like,
certain things,
like, you know, mama raised you,
daddy wasn't around, or
vice versa.
Like, I understand.
Y'all think that played a part in, like, your life as a basketball player?
How did you make it?
I mean, some people are just talented.
I'm saying, how did you make it, though?
Some people are just really talented.
But how did you make it, though?
It had to be something to do with your mental.
How did you make it?
How did you make it, though?
You know there's some people who just make it off to your talent.
Ivan Johnson was definitely one of those guys that you're talking about.
Like, okay, it's like
trauma, right? But he made
it, right?
How do you make it?
It's different from making it and staying.
That's facts.
That's a lot of kids to this day
that they're not staying.
It got to be like...
They could not be staying because of something that might be affecting them
off the court.
Like, you know,
a lot of it is off the court.
Everybody talented.
But I'm going to tell you
what it is.
These kids are not building
their foundation
from the ground up.
They're building it
from the top down.
So when they make it
and they're facing adversity,
they can't take the shit.
Because people have been stroking their fucking ego since they've been fucking in fifth and sixth grade.
They've been letting them get away with little bullshit.
They've been letting them get away with not fucking boxing the man out and not passing the ball to his teammate, being a great teammate.
Or playing a different role because they double teaming a nigga
and they got to get off the ball.
He's dealt with that.
You get what I'm saying?
That's true.
Entitlement.
You get what I'm saying?
So these kids, these new kids,
like think about it, bro.
It's just like it's a new era of guys making money.
It's a new era of guys quitting basketball.
That's a fact. These niggas
is 21 years old. Retired.
22 years old, retiring from basketball.
They got CTE.
Yeah. Nah, it's been a lot
of people retiring at an early age just because
of, like you said.
I'm telling you, bro. They had to face a little adversity
they never faced before. I'm telling you, bro.
And then they want to blame it on other shit.
Like, no disrespect to that Griffin kid,
but you talking about you want to follow Christ, bro?
You can do both.
Stop the cap.
Like, what's really the problem?
Yeah, you can go to church.
You can go to church.
Yeah, because I'm on and off the course.
Because that's how you pay your tithes and offerings.
That's how you pay your tithes and offerings.
I used to do it at a strip club.
I still pay my 10%.
You can do it. You can do it at a strip club. I still play my 10%, but you know.
You can do it. You can do it either way, man.
But that's real.
I think he faced a little adversity that he was never used to.
Probably tempted a lot more than he was.
Man, no, man. He got drafted
by his daddy and shit, and
nigga ain't Doc Rivers' ass.
That nigga goddamn made his ass earn that shit.
And then it fucked with him
because his daddy didn't dock rivers
Austin Rivers

But that's where he went crazy, kid folk.
That's where he went crazy.
Give me another one.
That's where this game is where he went crazy.
Give me another one.
Austin, give me another one.
Austin Rivers.
I'll drink this whole bottle.
Give me another one.
This is not 520 in the morning.
This is 520 after I play.
The real 520.
But I swear to God,
Austin Rivers did his thing at Duke.
Give me another one.
He did his thing at Duke.
I don't gotta give you
another one.
He did his thing at Duke.
That's why there's
a lottery, nigga.
So,

They team was raggedy.

He went to a prestige Duke University and Wake Forest University.
Wake Forest is a Christian school, man.
No, no, listen.
Wake Forest is a Christian school for sure.
Baptist.
Yeah, they're a Christian school.
Duke, for sure.
But Duke is way more premier than Wake Forest, if we're keeping the truth.
Okay, so he had a bigger platform.
That's all you're telling me.
That's all you're telling me.
He had a bigger platform to do nothing.
He exceeded.
He exceeded on his platform.
He did something.
He did something.
He got drafted.
He won team.
It wasn't because he won team.
I don't know some real shit.
That nigga had more support. Let's be honest. No, my kids, I don't think he wasn't team. It wasn't because he wasn't team. I don't want some real shit. That nigga had more support.
Let's be honest.
No, my kids, I don't think he was better than you.
Did Rivers have more support than you?
Yeah.
That's why that nigga had a big t-shirt on.
That nigga was showing his emotions.
That nigga was showing his emotions.
That nigga was wearing a cut-off t-shirt with him up on the spray plate.
That nigga had bacon on his t-shirt, too. That nigga was like, he was thuggy. That nigga wasucking spray paint. That nigga had bacon neck on his t-shirt, too.
That nigga was like, he was thuggy.
That nigga's thuggy.
That nigga's from the shoes.
You got to think about it.
Michael Horan just did.
Shout out to AC Law.
We had got him before you saw Mike.
Y'all fucked AC Law.
Let's talk about that.
He had the big shirt.
Nah, y'all fucked AC Law career up. It was the knuckleball. It wasn't, like, he had the big shirt. Nah, y'all supposed to have seen it all career up.
It was the knuckleball.

Like, it was just like, shout out to the shout out.
Like, because he had OKC.
He doing good.
He got a job there.
Yeah.
But it's like, it was the knuckleball.
So, it's just about like, so then when I, he was there before you, right?
Yeah.
So, when I, you got to think about it right? So when I, you gotta think about it.
My whole mindset was,
I need a point guard.
So like,
they drafted Al Horford.
I'm like, okay, cool. I need that nigga.
You feel what I'm saying? Boom.
Chris Paul came into play.
They drafted
Sheldon Williams.
Sheldon, Sheldon Williams. Shout out to Sheldon.
You not kidding.
Shout out to Sheldon.
He was so fucked up
about Candice.
You know what I'm saying?
We couldn't even get him
focused on the game.
You know what I'm saying?
She had Candice
and then Sheldon.
I knew it was
he had the 750.
This is when the BMWs
came out.
He drove the 750
to Tennessee and dropped and came back in the PT Cruiser. He gave her the 750. This is when the BMWs came out. He drove the 750 to Tennessee and dropped and
came back in the PT Cruiser.
He gave her the 750? He gave her the
750. I'm like, damn.

He ain't locked in.
He ain't locked in.
You come back in a PT.
And Candice on the other side now.
She a real one, though.

She playing power forward on the other side.
Not mad at her.

Y'all ain't going to be shit.
Who y'all got?
Who y'all got?
I'm like, damn.
I'm thinking like, damn, you right, man.
We're going to fuck around.
We're going to be weak.
Y'all got four on me.
You know what I'm saying?
Nigga, what?
What?
Y'all going to be ass?
I was ready, though, because I thought I was playing at four.
You know what I'm saying?
It was like, nigga, you playing the three.
I'm like, hold on, nigga.
I ain't played the three in nine years.
Hold on. Damn. Hold on, nigga. I ain't played the three in nine years. Hold on.
Damn, hold on.
I took him to camp 225.
I'm like, damn, nigga, I'm 250.
You know what I'm saying?
That's what niggas understand.
That's what niggas understand.
They going to get to play niggas in the season.
Smack us. Man, I'm crying laughing.
Smack us. Man, we beat that shit.
I'll be that motherfucker sad. I'll be that motherfucker light. These niggas got me at the three.
I wanted Paul Millsap so bad.
I was like, man, I just want him.
Because that was my matchup.
I'm like, dog, dog.
A three, a three.
I was mad as hell.
Running off screens and shit.
I'm like, man, hold on.
Hold on, man.
I had a shitty ass game.
Nigga, I'm hot, nigga.
I'm like, hold on.
I'm like, hold on.
I'm like, hold on.
I'm like, hold on.
I'm like, hold on.
I'm like, hold on.
I'm like, hold on.
I'm like, hold on.
I'm like, hold on. I'm like, hold on. I'm like, hold on. I'm like, hold on. I'm like, man, hold on. Hold on, man. Beat the shit out of me.
Beat the shit out of me.
I had a shitty ass game.
Nigga, I'm hot, nigga.
I'm like, hold on.
How did you feel, though, in Detroit, though?
Was you fucking with them or was you?
I mean, shout out to Joe Dumars, like I said, man.
Damn, I wish I would have.
I mean, I love Joe Dumars, but I wish I would have listened to Danny Ferry.
We had a meeting, and they had just been shitting on me so much in Atlanta.
I was like, man, I wanted a new start.
You know what I'm saying?
So that's what people don't understand.
I took all the flack.
When we lost, it's Josh's fault.
You know what I'm saying?
I probably took about two, three threes a game.
These niggas taking 10 threes.
This is what's good
about my career.
It's going to be
a whole lot of niggas
shooting fucking way worse
than me.
Because ain't no one
like Steph Curry.
Steph Curry, Steph Curry.
Klay Thompson and Klay Thompson.
All these niggas
shooting threes.
They shooting motherfucking
25%, 24.
I love it.
Yeah.
So, keep doing that shit.
You know what I'm saying?
Then keep making my shit look better.
Damn.
You got your new start?
Yeah, new start.
But they like, man, you got to lose.
You got to go 225.
I'm like, damn, nigga, I came in the league at fucking 210, 215.
So I'm like, boom. People don't understand in the league at fucking 210, 215. So I'm like, boom.
People don't understand, this is my ninth year in the league.
And this is what I had a talk with Danny Ferry.
Danny Ferry was like, this is before I left.
We have a dinner.
He's like, man.
He's like, can you just give me one more year?
Can you give me one year?
I'm going to make it right.
I didn't know he was getting bud.
I'm like, no, man, I got to get the fuck out of here.
Like, ain't nobody taking up for me.
Ain't nobody saying goddamn, like, it's this, that, and the third.
I ain't never shit on the organization, in the media.
I'm just like, you know what I'm saying?
So, boom.
They say that shit. Like, just like, you know what I'm saying? So boom.
They say that shit.
He's like, alright.
So I was about to get traded to Milwaukee.
So it never, it didn't pan out. Boom. I played the rest of the year out.
So then boom. He knew
I was gone because of the conversation
I had with him.
During the process.
And I never came back to him like,
you know, I got to change your heart.
So then Joe Dumars, boom.
I signed with Detroit.
And it was like the worst winter in Detroit.
Like, it was like shit to the ceiling.
Like, it was piled up to the ceiling like snow.
They was like, shit.
I'm like, I'm calling like, is practice still
going on? Or do I gotta
like, is it canceled? They're like, hell nah, you gotta
pull your ass up. I'm like,
shit, who gonna pick me up?
I'm like, shit, fuck that.
Which one of you motherfuckers gonna pick me up?
Nigga, I'm driving 20 miles per hour in the snow
scared as a motherfucker.
You know, Atlanta, nigga,
two inches, it's shut down
it's no more
it ain't no school
it ain't nothing going on
so I'm like
I'm like man
what's like so
I finally got
used to the snow
and stuff like that
but Detroit was like
a city that
it's like Indiana
it's like
you want
you wanna win
you know what I'm saying because you know the fans are passionate about It's like Indiana. It's like you want to win.
You know what I'm saying?
Because you know the fans are passionate about sports.
You know what I'm saying?
And it's not a lot of states that are really passionate about, like,
professional sports.
Right.
You got collegiate sports. Like, everybody, because it's alumni, you got, what?
You got North Dakota State in football.
They'll sell out arenas because it's a following because people went to school there.
But basketball is like bandwagon.
You know what I'm saying?
Damn near.
It's like, if you a fan of NBA team, it's because you from there or you got a player.
You know what I'm saying?
And Detroit don't play about their teams at all.
Not at all, man.
Not at all.
I remember when I was playing, they had like, when they was in Auburn Hills,
they had like tallies of like sold out, like consecutive sold out
arenas
you know
like showed out games
and it was like
it got like 200
or something
so like
when I seen that
like when
Chauncey Billis
from them was there
Ben Wiles from them
and them was there
when I was playing
and I seen it
I was like man
I want to be a part
of something like that
but it just never happened
but they deserve a winning team Indiana deserves a winning team and I seen it, and I was like, man, I want to be a part of something like that, but it just never happened.
But they deserve a winning team.
Indiana deserves a winning team.
You know what I mean?
No, seriously, though. No, they got passionate fans.
When you have, like, passionate fans, like, guys want to talk.
Like, guys, like, on opposing teams, it's just like a player.
It's like you hate to play against them, but you love him to be on your team. It's like
certain cities like Boston,
Utah, Indiana,
Detroit.
You know what I'm saying?
Houston is one of
them places. Golden State.
Definitely Golden State.
Yeah, fact.
So it's like
Lakers. Yeah, facts. So it's like Lakers.
At the Oracle.
That's crazy.
I just, me personally, I don't think Detroit probably need to move, bro.
Nah, hell nah.
Nah.
They need to move.
They moved out of Auburn Hill.
That was all they needed to do.
Nah, I think, no, it's not them.
I'm going to tell you a team that might need to move.
Let me see.
Let me think
about it.
Memphis?
No.
No, Memphis.
No, Memphis.
Charlotte? I'm just saying that.
Hold on, I'm going to tell you. I'm going to say. I say either Charlotte, because
they fans ain't shit. It's easy to win a bet, my friend. It's easy.
Even when it's good, it's easy.
You don't feel the pressure.
I'm going to say Charlotte...
Give me a West Coast team. I'm going to give you a West Coast team, too.
I promise you I'm going to give you one. Let me think.
Phoenix
is good, but they just...
They like...
They like Miami.
It's like a retirement place.
So like, Phoenix is a retirement
place, so they ain't really like, it ain't a
whole lot of Phoenix
fans and that motherfucker.
I'm going to say either Phoenix,
Phoenix, Charlotte,
or like from LA,
like from West Coast, I mean, either
Phoenix.
Man, I say Clippers too, though. I'm going to be mad at you.
I'm going to be mad at you.
Get them niggas the fuck up out of here, too.
You see that stadium ain't going nowhere.
Steve Ballman locked in.
Steve Ballman the real one, though.
So what he need to do is sell that stadium.
And go to Seattle.
Seattle needs to see it.
No, nigga.
Get OKC the fuck out of here.
No.
It's over. Fans is here No Fans is crazy Fans is crazy
Seattle
Seattle deserves a team
OKC is crazy
OKC
Rip on the team is crazy
OKC stole
Y'all stole that team
From them
OKC fans
I'm telling you bro
This shit is crazy
They gave it
To the wrong city
Yeah
Cause like OKC
They got some real fans.
They be so.
They like, no, y'all ain't going.
We ain't going to Seattle no more.
Get them a G League.
Nah, bro.
I don't do them like that.
Oklahoma City Thunder.
They feel too crazy.
G League.
Give Charlotte a G League.
See how much they want it.
Like y'all do not want the, like come on, bro.
Like how many different, how many different motherfucking mascots
y'all gonna have? Y'all got the Hornets.
Y'all got the Bobcats.
Goddamn.
Come on, man.
We done changed the goddamn, like, what's the third one?
What's the third one gonna be?
What's the third one gonna be?
Then we'll make it to the OG, Josh.
But damn, bro, what we gonna do next?
Like, come on.
No more fans.
This nigga Ball is fucking killing.
This nigga is the number one parker in the fucking NBA.
You can't get no fans, nigga?
Yeah, he's killing.
Yeah, this nigga's killing.
This nigga's triple doubles.
This nigga averaging 30.
This nigga, he averaging 30.
The Hornets AAU team, man.
It was a highlight the other day.
Somebody posted to me, and I want to apologize to you.
We was playing in Indiana.
I was back home, and you bought me a bunch of tickets
and gave me some tickets.
But Gerald Green, we was in the playoffs, I think,
and Gerald Green spun off of me and dunked on me.
And I remember going to the...
He did.
I remember going to the...
I'm a shot blocker, though, so I don't give a fuck.
I'm right there.
I don't care, nigga.
Dunk on me.
We went to the bench. That nigga said, so I don't give a fuck. I don't care, nigga. I'm going to the bench. I'm going to the bench.
That nigga said,
What the fuck?
He set you up.
Yeah, yeah.
Don't set me up.
Pump his ass a little bit.
Nigga, tie this shit.
You want that nigga to get a free straight line?
Like, God damn.
This nigga like standing in the rim, nigga. It's like standing in the rim.
It's like standing in the rim.
How was it, though?
Like, he was coming down.
He was dribbling Smith off T.
It was on the wing.
And I was trying to guard him.
And he spun off me.
And he, like, blew by me fast.
And Smoothie.
He reaching, though.
He was a gambler.
Yeah, he was.
He was gambling ass nigga.
And he dunked it.
And Smooth went for it.
And then we ran down.
You know, Smooth didn't give a fuck. He was like, he don't care. But Smoove went for it. And then we ran down. You know, Smoove didn't give a fuck.
He was like, he don't care.
But then we got to the bench.
Because I be mad because I can't get the nigga back.
Like, right back.
Because I know 90% of the offense is going through.
You know what I'm saying?
So it's 3%.
I'm like, I can't get the nigga back.
I can't get the nigga back. For like quarter. I can't get a nigga back.
For like a whole quarter.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, damn.
Jeff has got a couple niggas punched on, though.
It's okay, though.
He learned that shit from Bibby.
The OG.
He learned that shit from the OG.
He learned a couple niggas punched on.
That nigga OG.
That nigga.
Go get that shit, Josh.
He was like, they didn't bring me here to while y'all with my defense.
Go get that shit, Josh. Spool like, they didn't bring me here to while y'all with my defense. Go get that shit, Josh.
Smooth, you said, your defense, bro, you should have been like,
I don't know if he was first team ever.
Never.
But you should have been first team.
Why though?
Why do you think you never got that?
He made it for a while.
I mean, what people got to understand is the game is political.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, once you get to that level,
it's political, dog.
Like, that's why you always hear
other NBA players tell you that
they're basically telling you
what I'm telling you.
The best players don't fucking make it
because of
how do Negroes
handle their success
when they feel like they have
the word at their
feet? You know what I'm saying?
And it can be like high school.
You getting all the looks.
You hollering at all the girls.
You the man.
How do you handle that?
Do you handle it humbly?
This ain't shit.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, this is just a scratch of the surface.
Or do you handle it like,
you that nigga?
This is, yeah, I'm that nigga.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
I hear what you're saying.
Like, just like every athlete.
It ain't even got to be a black kid.
You know what I'm saying?
It's like, how do you handle that success? You know what I'm saying? It's like, how do you handle that success?
You know what I'm saying?
Do you know what year, though,
you felt like you definitely
should have been
in the first team?
I know what year it is.
I know what year it is.
Who, me?
Yeah, you.
The year you made them threes.
You and Bibi made that bet.
And Bibi said,
I bet you bet 10K
you wouldn't shoot
a certain amount of threes.
That nigga was shooting
all middies.
That nigga was killing. Yeah, it was.
And I was like, anybody can make the all-star team.
But then,
it was the year that Joe got
hurt, Al got hurt.
It was, we came back from
the
lockout year.
Yeah, Al tore his pick.
And Joe was just in and out with his
calf. And we still got, what? Third in the East. And Joe was just in and out with his calf. And we still got what?
Third in the East.
So I was like, I'm going to make it, nigga.
This was a year where your brother was talking about, I came to Kentucky.
And I was playing shitty.
And I was like, look.
Because niggas don't understand.
I never gave a damn. No, yeah. No, no. I never gave a damn about, like, summer basketball.
Practice summer basketball, I was a shitty-ass player.
Like, it was just like, I'm in here for conditioning.
Like, let me know, like, do you want me at 7 a.m.
or do you want me at 7 p.m.?
I was one of them niggas.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, I'm going? He fucked me up.
I'm going to get this conditioning in.
Just like the shooting shit.
I want to talk about that shit.
That was a good one, though.
Yeah.
So, I'm looking at your brother there.
LeBron wasn't there.
You know what I'm saying?
It was just like the OKC players and some of the Boston players. You know what I'm saying? It was just like the OKC players and some of the Boston players.
You know what I'm saying?
When I was there.
So when I was playing, like, I was hooping.
But I'm like, nigga, where the fuck that nigga Jones at?
You know what I'm saying?
Where the nigga T. Jones at?
Like, the nigga, he wasn't showing up.
Because I'm like, nigga, this is supposed to be the nigga of y'all team.
Like, there's NBA niggas in here.
If I was him, I'd be running to the gym.
He said y'all niggas
were scared.
No, nigga, we asking for this nigga.
Why is this nigga not coming?
So, boom, your brother
probably just hyped the nigga up.
That's what he should have said. I hyped him up.
I ran back to the dorm.
It was some niggas in there. I said,
I hyped the nigga up.
He came in there. He had a decent day.
He had a decent day. I ain't gonna say.
He said he did his motherfucking thing.
He had a decent day.
He didn't do his thing.
Hold on, Josh.
He didn't do his thing.
He said, motherfucker, hold on.
Hold on, Lord.
He said,
this is from my little, motherfucker, hold on. He did not kill. Hold on, Lord. He said,
this is from my little, this is from nephew.
Mook said,
nigga, be here and T-Jones came
in that motherfucker and shut that bitch down. Nigga went
back to sleep. He's lying though.
But he's lying though.
He's lying though because
it was other niggas in there that cared.
You know what I'm saying?
So they might have beat my team, but Rondo and them team,
Smashington.
Yeah.
You get your ass smacked.
You know what I'm saying?
Stop all the cap.
Because if you felt that good,
it would have been a different type of entry to the NBA.
You feel what I'm saying?
No disrespect.
No, man.
No disrespect.
It would have been a different type of approach to them being like,
these niggas ain't shit.
Yeah.
If you had that type of success against Hall of Fame players.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
Let's be honest now.
No, we keeping it true.
So I'm like, okay, boom.
I had, I remember, I didn't play bad against Terrence Jones.
I played bad against the Oklahoma
City team.
So, they like, oh, this nigga suck.
Like, I'm walking back to
the hotel
getting into it with my partner
at the time. Like, how you and y'all,
you and T, my father, you playing around
and shit, goddamn, we done about to squabble
up in the middle of the election thing. We about to goddamn, like, hold on. You know what I'm saying? My father, you playing around and shit. Goddamn, we done about to squabble up in the middle of the election thing.
We about to goddamn like, hold on.
You know what I'm saying?
So I'm like, shit, fuck that.
Mark the ass on the menu.
Mark the ass.
Get ass 30-something.
This is when I had that dunk on Ibaka.
Yeah, that's when I had that dunk on Ibaka.
One of my historic dunks.
And I'm like, I got to stop playing with niggas.
You know what I'm saying? That was just
me knowing I got to stop
playing, bro. I got to stop
just getting fucking...
You was too comfortable.
I was comfortable, but it was like...
Because I was comfortable knowing that it's niggas
in practice that'll bust your ass,
and they get sucked in the game, won't do shit.
So I'm like, nigga, I don't
want to be known as no practice player.
You get what I'm saying? Yeah. I don't want
to be known as no nigga that can
leave plus minus in practice.
I don't want to...
I knew y'all was different, though, because I remember
one time I was killing in practice. Like, when I first
was a rookie,
you know how you playing hard as hell as a rookie.
And y'all just kind of chilling. Then Woody got mad at y'all.
And y'all was like, come on, man. This nigga
just started blocking every shot. I'm going to the back seat.
Block, lob, dunk.
I'm trying to save myself.
Yeah, I'm like...
Because I'm athletic as hell, bro. I'm not trying to come down
on a nigga for no practice. Then, boom.
I'm out for fucking two weeks.
But I didn't know how athletic...
I didn't take my ankles.
Obviously, I knew him from high school.
He was athletic, but I ain't know.
I wasn't no fan of too many people,
so I'm like, oh, nigga, I don't give a fuck.
And then we shooting free throws,
and I'm like, yeah, I can go through the legs.
He was like, for real?
Shot the ball, grabbed it, just went through the legs.
I was like, what the fuck?
And everybody was like, you're not athletic as much, bro.
You thought you was athletic.
Because I'm just talking shit.
I go through the legs.
So he shot a free throw, got the ball, just went off.
Boom.
Just got that walk into it.
I was like, what the fuck?
Yeah, it was just like what you said, like the shoot-around shit.
Right.
So, like, we had shoot-around like either 11 o'clock or 10 o'clock, right?
So, we had shoot-around.
I'm shooting.
We shooting like a motherfucker.
We going through their plays.
We going through our plays, right?
Then you go into the game, right? You got
the rookie bus, you got the veteran bus.
So, I'm on the veteran bus
by the time he get there. So, I'm
like, I'm
already knowing I got eight shots.
Eight to ten shots this game.
Every game, I know I got eight to ten
shots, depending on how
I maneuver this
shit, you know what I'm saying?
Right. So, I'm saying? Right.
So I'm like,
Isaac,
did we not like,
so,
you got 15 shots,
like you got 15 minutes
per slot.
You feel what I'm saying?
So my slot is 15 minutes.
His slot 15 minutes
when the game,
like before the game starts.
So I'm coming in and I'm like, if I make two shots, I'm game starts. So I'm coming to that motherfucker.
If I make two shots,
I'm like, shit, I'm cool.
I'm hot. I'm hot.
You know what I'm saying?
Mentality's like,
okay, shit, I'm hot
tonight. You know what I'm saying?
If I miss two, I'm like, okay, I gotta stay
like an extra five, ten minutes.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm never staying at 15 minutes. to stay like an extra five, ten minutes. I'm never
staying at 15 minutes.
That nigga shooting around shit was crazy.
That was my mentality, like
fuck that shit. That nigga used to shoot
two shots.
Ah, fuck it.
That bitch go in. I'm like, this nigga here crazy.
That bitch go in though. I'm running
the locker room. Them two
go in.
But they need to come out and be playing hard as hell.. I'm running the locker room. Them two go in. I'm going to start.
But then he comes out and be playing hard as hell.
And I'm like, because on defense, bro, he made up for everybody's mistakes.
That's why I used to be like, man, why him?
People don't like, like, y'all understand what this nigga doing? He got six blocks and three steals.
But even if you look at it now, like Drew, did Drew got a DPOY?
Like AD got a DPOY?
Like when you talk about them
as being regarded
as some of the best
defenders in the league,
like you said to your point,
the players know.
It's more political
than it is off.
Nah.
It is,
because I got,
it was one time
I was defensive player
runner up
and I made the second team.
You know what I'm saying?
Didn't somebody win
defensive player of the year
and get second team?
Like, yeah. That's what happened with, like, so Dwight won their year you know what I'm saying didn't somebody win defense player of the year and get second team like Mark Mussoff
yeah
that's what happened
with like
so Dwight won
that year
and I got second
behind him
and I was still
second team
yeah that's crazy
make that make sense
so I'm like
cause you don't even
play the five
so that's crazy
nah
so after that
it's like
like just like
Bam out of Bayou
like I respect
everything he do
because he's guarding one through five,
and then as skilled as the league is today,
for him to be able to isolation stop a point guard
that can really just dribble 30 times now to try to get a bucket
and to stop him, you got to look at stuff like that.
That was you. Yeah, that was me.
It was like two years I led
the league in isolation.
Isolation
plays, percentage-wise,
I led the league in that.
That's what I
hang my hat on. I love cutting
the nigga water off.
I love that shit. You was called on defense,, I love cutting the nigga water off. You know what I'm saying? Like, I love that shit.
You was cold on defense, bro.
Cutting the nigga water off is everything.
Like, I used to tell T, like, man, just act like you're going to strip that motherfucker.
Let him pick his steps up.
So, my step was like, if you do this, I'm blocking that shit.
Yeah.
If you come straight up, I don't know.
But if you picking that motherfucker up, you're stepping, I'm whooping your shit.
No, it ain't easy.
Big bills.
Do not foul him.
Just reach.
I'm going to block it.
Yeah, just run through him.
You're going to get a rebound.
Did he ever listen?
Yeah, he did.
Absolutely.
I threw that shit out fast.
He's going to swing through, boom, rebound.
He get a rebound.
You get at least one or two rebounds.
Him and Dwight at that time, bro, they used to block everything.
Because I'm chasing shit.
I was chasing shit down before LeBron was.
Nah, nigga.
LeBron did that shit one time with Tayshaun Prince.
And, you know, they made that like, oh, that's his career.
But no, I was really one of the ones that did that shit in high school.
I started at McDonald's.
McDonald's All-American.
You got a fucking highlight tape
to chase down blood.
Because I'm a, you know, I don't care.
Did you always live on that, though?
Was that your, like,
who put that battery in your back
when they get a play defense?
Because to me, like,
well, I pay attention to the AAU world,
but I feel like a lot of people,
if they see you,
they don't catch those highlights of you swatting shit or, you know, being the best hell side
defender, damn near low key ever in high school, for real, to me.
Yeah, I got to shout out Coach Prather, man.
Shout him out.
Celtics.
Rest in peace, RIP.
ATL Celtics.
That's what he talking about.
Real one, man.
Real one, man. Real one, man. He had the the man had the
hairline back there to his neck.
You know what I'm saying? But he had the baby neck.
Rest in peace, man. Don't take it.
He had that sticking,
the ginseng stick in his mouth.
Chief. He was like,
Chief, you gotta play the Chief.
You gotta play defense, Chief.
You want longevity, you gotta play defense. He had that stick in his mouth. I'm like, man, I got to play the chief. You got to play defense, chief. You want longevity, you got to play defense.
He had that stick in his mouth.
I'm like, man, I got you.
But it was a coach that I knew.
See, one thing about these players, they go through life meeting all kind of coaches,
all kind of trainers, right?
But they never rarely meet a coach that's gonna put them down on some shit
you know i'm saying like on some real shit like right so he was a coach like i was a nigga that
didn't have shit i i ain't have i ain't had no money you know i'm saying like my parents
didn't have no money so whatever the program gave me that's what i had you know i'm saying
i was a nigga that had
like i'm getting a basketball pair of shoes for the whole year you know i'm saying so i'm telling
him like okay i gotta like he like he he hold me down niggas talking about me you know i'm saying
my home my teammates talking about me i ain't got shit he about me. You know what I'm saying? My teammates talking about me.
I ain't got shit.
He taking up for me.
You know what I'm saying?
Because he knew I was special.
Like, he knew I didn't have the shit that he knew I was going to attain.
But he just, like, you know what I mean?
He knew.
So, like, that was the coach that kind of, like,
Moded your game.
He did.
He moded my everything.
Like,
then I went to Oak Hill.
So,
Steve Smith
was one of the mother coaches too.
Yeah.
So,
like,
well,
you ranked Steve Smith as,
like,
I don't care,
like,
what level of coach you had.
He won.
He won.
He won.
He's a one,
not the two.
Yeah.
So,
you doing rankings.
Where you rank yourself at
at Oak Hill?
You got Mello.
You got Brandon Jennings.
You got Rondo.
I'm top five.
You got Steven Jackson.
I'm top five.
All right, so who the five?
I'm going to say Mello, Stackhouse, me, Rondo, Kevin Durant.
Are you going to count KD?
But he went to Mount Vernon.
I mean, he ended up going to Montauk Hill.
He went to Mount Vernon.
You got Michael Beasley.
All these niggas went to school there.
So are we doing graduates?
Yeah, let's say you graduate. Okay, so me,
Carmelo, Stackhouse,
Rondo.
You gotta have B. Jennings in there.
It's small. B. Jennings. I was gonna say,
before we get out of here, last question. B. Jennings. For sure.
The B. Jennings and Rondo conversation at Oak Hill.
Rondo. Rondo.
Rondo broke a record for assists.
So, it's like, are you a point guard or are you a shooting guard?
Because you can't want to be a point guard because it's shooting guard.
So you get to shoot the ball.
That's the point guard.
So point guard is the, he's the setup man.
And my honorable mention goes to Ty Lawson.
Ty Lawson, you an Oak Hill motherfucker legend. Yeah, absolutely to Ty Lawson. Ty Lawson, you an O'Kill motherfucker.
Yeah, absolutely.
Ty Lawson.
Trip Doug.
Michael Beasley.
My life.
Beas, my dog.
Man, he got kicked out because he was autographing everything.
No, that's what people don't know.
He was autographing.
This is what got him.
He autographed a bumper sticker of the dean of the school.
That's what got him kicked out.
He was autographing library books, everything.
Shirts.
He one of the greatest high school basketball players.
I would love to see an autographed book of Mike Beasley.
Okay.
I need to remember that.
I got to have that.
I got to have that.
No, man.
Like, look.
Okay.
Stop playing.
Stop playing.
Show them folks that he was out there tripping.
Where's the bumper sticker?
I bet he ain't got that. He probably like, damn,
I should have saved that.
See what I'm saying? So when kids
are doing historic shit, let them do it.
Let them lock it. Because you never know where it's
