Starting point is 00:02:51 Saturday night. It doesn't look like he's too pleased with that and there are a lot of people on social media that actually thought he won that fight. Joining us, Lamont Roach Jr. Lamont, how you doing, bro? What's up, man? I'm good, man.
Starting point is 00:03:06 Thanks for having me. I feel real good. No, thanks for having. Thanks for joining us. Take us through Saturday night. You go into that fight, you move up five pounds, you're 135 or you move up. And you're feeling, I mean, everybody's that man
Starting point is 00:03:20 ain't know he got no chance. Tank told you a couple of days earlier he's going, hey, you're not going to distance. Y'all shake, pretty little with $2.50, whatever the case may be. you go into that fight. You know tanks are slow starter, builds up as the fight progresses,
Starting point is 00:03:35 know he's trying to land, hook to the body, come up, top with it. What was your process? What were you going into that fight? How did you want to fight and did the fight turn out the way you thought it would? Well, honestly, yeah, the fight went exactly how we planned it to go, honestly.
Starting point is 00:03:52 You know, we're familiar with them. We've been familiar with them. We just knew it was a matter of time for everything to fall in to play. And back to the whole everybody not giving me a shot saying I'm going to get knocked out and all this and all that. I know what I'm capable of. And I know what I could do.
Starting point is 00:04:12 Like they just, in the nutshell, they had me totally messed up. And especially when he bet me saying he was going to stop me. What do what do? I told him himself. I said, you tripping. I said, I don't know what got into your head these last couple minutes. few days, whatever the case, you're tripping. You know you're not going to do that.
Starting point is 00:04:32 I don't know you know why. I told him, I said, I know you know you're not going to do that. Cut it out. Yeah. Hey, listen, when you talk about you're very familiar with them, and I understand you and your team, you went into the fight with a game plan. Is the familiarity the fact that you guys probably trained together in the past
Starting point is 00:04:49 or you've been in camp together in the past, you sparred together? Is that why you were so familiar in whatever game plan your team did have and were able to execute? That why it went so well? I mean, yeah, it's one of the many reasons why I went so well. Even though we were kids, you know, some of them traits, characteristics, and just ways of a man grew with him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:13 So, you know, some of the, like, some of the dirty tactics, I knew that he'll, you know, revert to that when that pressure built up. When somebody that was there wasn't scared of, when somebody was there that was there to return fire. And, you know what I'm saying? He ain't been in the ring. In his professional career, he hasn't been in the ring with something like that
Starting point is 00:05:34 or something like the caliber of what I got. Right. So what I thought, obviously, watching a fight, and when I look at all this takes fights, most of the time, obviously he starts slow. And then round 5, 6, he starts to pick it up a little bit. And by the time, as he's picking it up, normally his opponent, it deteriorating.
Starting point is 00:05:52 The condition ain't where it's supposed to be. But I'm looking at you. They get the round 6 and 7, and he coming forward and you're not even movement so at that point y'all mid-range you sit in the pocket
Starting point is 00:06:03 and most of the time when he hears somebody they retreat but you took one to give one I'm like what he boy going at it I'm like so did the power
Starting point is 00:06:15 not affect you in any way where you didn't really care were you just sat in the pocket with him in exchange because most of the time I mean you got to be cautious you got to be cautious because when throwing punches
Starting point is 00:06:26 you know, you got a chance to get hit, you know, when you let him go. Did you not care at all, or did you feel his power early and really one word about it? So it wasn't that I wasn't caring. I was cautious, like you said, I was cautious, but the defense, the defense is there and the confidence was through the roof. And I got a chin. You keep a spade to spade. Like, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:06:49 Like, I see why he knocked people out. Yeah. I'm not going to say the power is overrated, but it, I, I've been in there with guys who can punch. I mean, like, with guys who can punch. So it's like, it's nothing, it was nothing new to me. I've been in there with middleweight champions. I've been in there with junior middleweight champions.
Starting point is 00:07:06 I mean, like, as they were champion in their prime and stuff like that. So it's like, you know what I'm saying? Like, I was confident in what I could do defensively. And if I get hit, I know I was going to give it right back. Right. This episode of Nightcap is brought to you by Colagard, a non-invasive colic cancer screening test. You know, colon cancer is considered one of the most preventable, yet least prevented
Starting point is 00:07:31 cancers. When caught in the early stages, colon cancer has a survival rate of 90 percent, so screening and early detections are key to reducing overall colon cancer deaths. That's why the American Cancer Society recommends that if you're at average risk, you begin screening for colon cancer at age 45. And a convenient way to do that is with coliagard tests. The coliard test allows you to be in control of your colon cancer screening through prescription-based tests delivered to your door with none of the prep that's required
Starting point is 00:08:00 for colonoscopy. No liquid prep, no days off, no invasive procedures. Plus, coliagard test is affordable. Most insured patients pay $0 and a follow-up colonoscopy is needed after a positive coliagard test. This is usually covered by insurance also. So if you're 45 years of older and at average risk, you can ask your health care provider about screening for colon cancer with the coliagard test. You can also request a coligar prescription today at coliagard.com slash podcast. The coliagard test is intended to screen adults, 45 and older at average risk for colorectal cancer. Do not use coliard test if you have had adenumas, have inflammatory bowel disease and certain hereditary syndromes or personal or family history of colorectal
Starting point is 00:08:42 cancer. The coliard test is not a replacement for colonoscopies. High-risk patients, coliard test and adults 45 to 49 is estimated based on a large clinical study of patients 50 and older. False positive and false negatives can occur. Coligar, is available by prescription. So, listen, in the night round, I'm sorry, you know, I get excited about it. I want me to take over. Listen, a young boy, in the night round,
Starting point is 00:09:03 you know, Javante took a knee. Obviously, there's some controversy behind that. It wasn't ruled a knockdown by the referee. I've never seen that ever. And in my years of watching a, you know, watching boxing and enjoying the sport of combat sports in general, did that moment impact your strategy
Starting point is 00:09:19 for the remainder of the fight? I'm going to say no. and let me tell you why. The simple fact that he took the knee is it was really a boost because it's like, all right,
Starting point is 00:09:34 it's, all right, what we doing is working. We know that he's looking for something. It should have been a knockdown one. So that's why I'm yelling at the referee, like keep counting. Like you tripping, keep counting. That's a knock damn. Because if y'all didn't notice,
Starting point is 00:09:48 he started to count. He started to count. He did. And then he stops. He stopped. Okay. So when we resume the action, I'm like, what you doing? Keep counting.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Like, you can't do that. So then it wasn't even registering or processing through my mind, the other rules. Right. To the simple fact that he could have got disqualified for having his corner come up to the ring and assist him during the round. Or why? Yeah, you can't come to the man. Or he can't turn. his back on like doing
Starting point is 00:10:24 the fight. That's cause for it. That's the wave at all. He took a knee and then turned around and went to the corner. A breath or usually turned it stop the fight. Oh, I ain't know that. I'm watching you. A lot of times when people
Starting point is 00:10:40 hit Tank like Ocho was saying they retreat. But it seemed like you had a strategy. Like if he hit me, I'm going to hit his ass back just as hard as many times as he hit me. And I don't think he expected you to return to kind of that you returned because you wobbled him a couple of times. And I'm not so sure that I've seen Tank wobble like when you called him a couple of times
Starting point is 00:10:59 and you was getting through the guard. I mean, hey, normally a South Pole fighter, that lead right is a home run right down and it's right down Broad Street. And you kept touching him with it. For sure. It was one of the many things that we trained for. Obviously, he happy go lucky with his left. And it been working for his whole career.
Starting point is 00:11:18 He's been knocking these dudes out. So, you know, we've been training. We've been sitting on the left. being able to, working on countering, working on, you know, being able to block and come back. And we had some pretty fast guys and then we had some pretty strong guys that I had to, you know, switch rounds with every, like, you know, every spawn system. So, you know, we was ready. We was prepared.
Starting point is 00:11:40 And like you said, them dudes wasn't really, really cracking him back. And I was really throwing that fire at him. And the accuracy was really probably pissed them all too. And the fact that I was busy, it's like, all right, this ain't stopping. Yeah, I thought you did an unbelievable job of keeping the pace up. Like Ocho said, he's a guy that likes to start slow. So he has some energy reserve. So when he comes out from 5 through 12, he's like, I got a lot left.
Starting point is 00:12:09 I know, hey, I ain't really spent no gas. Hey, I just been coasting. I've been on electric mode. Now I got this fire. I got this gas in the tank. I'm from to unleash. But you met fire with fire. And I've heard Floyd say
Starting point is 00:12:21 that like when he went into a fight He never watched tape On the guy that he was fighting He left that up to his corner To watch the fight And then tell him instructions He would take all that information And then once he got into the rain
Starting point is 00:12:35 Blah blah blah Do you watch fight When you going against a fighter Do you watch them Or you leave that up to your corner To watch and then give you an instruction To what you should do I don't watch them a lot
Starting point is 00:12:45 I'm just so I just so happen to be a boxing fan that the fact that I do watch him fight. You know what I'm saying? Like, I really like boxing. He's just somebody to watch. He's a spectacle. He's a knockout artist, skilled guy, like one of the better pound-for-pound fighters.
Starting point is 00:13:00 I like watching good fights. So I do know some of his tendencies. But to study him, not really. I left it up to my dad. But one time, one day, like one day in camp, we did sit down and watch a few-age fights back-to-back. okay hey listen tank tank his publicly express interest obviously in a rematch i'm you want a rematch as well are you open to immediate rematch or do you have a uh you don't need a tune-up but do you have a tune-up fight just to just to keep yourself going or do y'all run it right back immediate immediate
Starting point is 00:13:35 and just to let y'all know like in in my contract immediate rematch was signed i signed for the immediate rematch when i signed for the first fight just in case he lost or just in case it was a draw. So they put that clause in there. They put a rematch clause in there. So I already signed a rematch clause. Okay. So when you got a rematch clause,
Starting point is 00:13:55 how long we take it? How long is the break before you start training again? Is it six months from now? It's up to the eight side. It's up to the eight side and when they want to fight. So I'm thinking it's going to be soon. I'm hoping it's going to be soon. I'm saying from a boxing standpoint as a boxer,
Starting point is 00:14:12 what is soon to you? I mean, when you say soon to me, I'm thinking a month. I know that's not going to happen. I'm thinking July. I'm thinking July. I'm thinking July. I'm thinking July for sure.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Okay. But if I'm not mistaken, Lamont, I think I read something that he reached out to Lomachenko's side and see if they were interested. Did you see that? Did you read that also? Did you see that? But you can't, you got to,
Starting point is 00:14:38 you can't believe everything you see. And if it is, if it is true, then, you know, that'd be funny. But I'm pretty sure to rematch happen. And I'm pretty sure that's the next fight for both of us. But let me ask you this. Hold on.
Starting point is 00:14:50 Would you be interested? Go ahead. I'm just, would you be interested in fighting Lomo or Tiofimo Lopez? Of course. Or me? Uh-oh. Hold up, Chad. Hold up, Chad.
Starting point is 00:15:01 Hey, put balls on it, LeBott. Put paws on it. Hey, I don't know if you see him. We fight Saturday. I really do this. Yeah. I would there. I was there.
Starting point is 00:15:11 I listen, I've been studying you for years. You hear me? Okay. I can, listen, listen, I don't have the time, but I could tell you your tendencies right now round one through seven. Okay. So if we were to get in there a spa right now,
Starting point is 00:15:23 I could tell you what you're going to do by looking at your feet. When you got your hand down by your hip, and you step forward, you're going to faint. You know it. I ain't need no more keys. But listen, I've been studying you. I know you.
Starting point is 00:15:36 So if you want a spa at any point, if you get ready for the next fight, I think I'm saying you work, you're a south pole, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I got hands. Get you a cat. He got no power, though. He got no power, he got pillows.
Starting point is 00:15:46 He got pillows at the end of his arm. He ain't got no power, Lamont. Hey, Lamont, listen. Or another cake blows. No, no, no, no. Hey, Lamont, where I'm from, they call me hell of hands. Yeah, they call me hell of hands. But listen, I'm reflecting on your performance, right?
Starting point is 00:16:02 In that fight, bro, I don't know. Your game plan was phenomenal. Everything you did, you executed from round one all the way to 12. After you have a fight like that and you put on a show like that, that, what aspects, I mean, like, what's, how many, how do you improve off of that? Because if they, if you would agree your performance that night, you get an A plus. Yeah. So what do you go back, what do you go back and work on after putting on a goddamn show like that?
Starting point is 00:16:30 Man, just, just, just going on. See, my thing is, I always want to get better all the time. No matter if I do, I have a good performance or not. I just go back and, I watch the tape and see what, what he does. do. Obviously, whatever he come with the next one, that we just got to still capitalize. We're going to add to what works. If it ain't, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But we're going to just, we're going to add to it. We're going to build. We're going to build. We're going to build. We might try to, you know, pick it up so we can see if we can get that stoppage
Starting point is 00:17:00 or now. You know what I'm saying? You never know. That's how you capitalize. That's how you capitalize. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, your condition was on point, boy. Old school fighter, man, 15 real fighter over here, man. For real? For sure. I was in camps I was 13, 14 rounds. Wait, with time or no time? No, we're time for sure.
Starting point is 00:17:22 With time. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. Okay, you know, I did 22 rounds, no clock. Chad, we're going to get you a camp. Maybe you can give me ready for a rematch. A matter of fact, bring me to camp, I ain't ain't going to charge you. I ain't going to charge you. I give you four rounds.
Starting point is 00:17:39 I let somebody else go fold, and I come back for another four. Trade exchange, no robbery. I like that. All right, I bet. Man, Lamar, will you put pause on this man? Don't beat him up too bad because I need it. I need it for a nightcap. So I don't want him to come back talking about slurring.
Starting point is 00:17:53 I don't want him to come back talking like the champ. He's going to be all right. He's going to be, I think. I think it'll be all right. Don't just get him body blows. Don't get him on his head, yeah. You're getting body blows. I'm good.
Starting point is 00:18:02 I'm good. I'm good. My defense is my offense. I ain't going to get it. Lamar, a lot of times when guys win and they get a rematch, they're like, well, I don't have anything to improve upon. And they, they run into a, a problem. Because you
Starting point is 00:18:15 had a draw, do you, can you go back and say, you know what? In this situation here, I should have did this instead of that and I might have been able to land something. Is that how you go back and approach the fight because you didn't get the win? And so you're like, well, I didn't get the win. I didn't lose technically, but I didn't win
Starting point is 00:18:31 either. And I think as a fighter, you know, draws and ties, that ain't what we do it for. We want to be win. We want to be on the top spot. And because you didn't land on the top spot, you feel that, you know what, go back and watch this fight through 12 rounds, maybe if I pick it up through the first three or four rounds, maybe that's a round or two that I win, and we don't even have this discussion
Starting point is 00:18:52 at the end, because it looked like they gave you round 12. Had you not won round 12, he would have won the fight. Which is sad, honestly. So to me, I thought I wanted to fight clearly. I thought I won a close fight. I thought I won a very competitive fight. I'm not saying I steamrolled them or whatever. But to me, I think I want to fight. Now, granted, ninth round, should have been called a knockdown. Two judges on the official scorecards gave him the round 10-9. If that was a knockdown,
Starting point is 00:19:23 I went to round 10-8. That's a three-point swing. I would win a unanimous decision. So you got to take all of that into account. It's three ways that, it's three things that could have happened in that ninth round alone with that knee. It could have been a 10-8 round,
Starting point is 00:19:38 scored a knockdown. It could have been a disqualification. Or I could have won by TKL. So honestly Hey, what's up everybody? Daniel Jeremiah here. And I'm Bucky Brooks. If you love breaking down football
Starting point is 00:19:53 from every angle, you're in the right place. Every week on Move the Six, Bucky Brooks and I dive deep into the game from the X's and O's to the front office moves shaping the league. We kick things off with Brian Baudinger, breaking down what really went down on Sunday. It is as good at timing,
Starting point is 00:20:09 rhythm offense as there is in the league right now. Then Rhett Lewis joins us for our rookie draft and coordinator of the week, where we highlight the rising stars and the masterminds calling the shots. DJ talked me into A Ronde Gadsden Jr. He had a monster game. A monster game. And you hear from the voices who actually build the game. GMs, coaches, and players who give you insight you won't get anywhere else. High standards and high care. That's the right combination. So whether you're studying tape or just love great football talk, subscribe to move the sticks on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:20:47 For 25 years, I've explored what it means to heal, not just for myself, but alongside others. I'm Mike Delocho. This is Sacred Lessons, a space for reflection, growth, and collective healing. What do you tell men that are hurting right now? Everything's going to be okay on the other side, you know, just push through it. And, you know, ironically, The root of the word spirit is breath. Wow. Which is why one of the most revolutionary acts that we can do as people just breathe. Next to the wound is their gifts.
Starting point is 00:21:23 You can't even find your gifts unless you go through the wound. That's the hard thing. You think, well, I'm going to get my guess. I don't want to go through all that. You've got to go through the wounds you're laughing. Listening to other people's near-death experiences, and that's all they say. In conclusion, love is the answer. Listen to Sacred Lessons as part of the My Kutura Podcast Network,
Starting point is 00:21:40 available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. If one of us wins, we all win. I'm Ashley Reifeld, and I'm the host of the women's skateboarding podcast. Good luck with that. Good luck with that is a skateboarding podcast that is part cultural record, part news brief, mostly group therapy, and a place to talk about the past, present, and future of women and gender expansive skateboarding. This week, me and my co-host, Nora Vasconcelos, and Alex White, we have Bobiana Delphina. on the show, a professional skateboarder from Florida
Starting point is 00:22:13 whose grit was forged in a family of athletes. Tune in to hear how she broke into the boys' club, what it takes to be pro, and why just being grateful you're here shouldn't be the price of entry. Maybe the industry thinks that we just started skating five years ago because that's when they maybe started paying attention. It's a no-fluff conversation about putting in the year,
Starting point is 00:22:31 stacking clips and receipts and still having to prove your worth while the industry catches up. You break down the door, sick now like hold the door for everyone. We created good luck with that because we want to share our experience of existing in an industry that wasn't always built for everyone. So listen to good luck with that on IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Hey, y'all, it's me, your man, M.G. Marcus Grant. And I'm Michael F. Liorio.

I just want to remind everyone how good Rishie Rice was last season
Starting point is 00:23:20 and these three healthy games. He was the wide receiver 2 in fantasy. I think Rishie Rite just goes off this week. The Chiefs come on a flip pass to Rice. This side, touchdown! Remindry Stevens is my sleeper this week. This is a matchup where I think I can slide in Stevenson into my flex position and he could deliver double-digit points this week.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Ray takes the snap, hands it off. Romaree running it right, and running into the end zone. Touchdown! It's never too late to turn your fantasy season around. Subscribe to the NFL Fantasy Football Podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts. You hear that? That's the sound of the group chat going off when your fantasy team scores another touchdown in the playoffs. I'm J.J. Zachary Eisen, host of the late round fantasy football podcast.
Starting point is 00:24:05 Every move matters this time of year. So tune in daily to help build a championship roster to beat your friends, your family, and that one co-worker who won't stop talking. Literally. Listen to late round fantasy football on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:24:23 When you look at that and you say, I got a draw against the number one spectacle in America, a pound-for-pound talent, and a guy with a 90% knockout ratio, you look at it and like, okay, if you got to draw, more than likely you were supposed to win that night. So even though I didn't get to win, I'm not a moral victory guy. I'm pissed that I didn't win, honestly.
Starting point is 00:24:51 Right, exactly. I'm pissed that I didn't win. But I really think that I should have, a lot of people think that I should have. And the rematch is just going to make it worse for him because I got to rev it up. Like you said, I got to do something. I got to do something. I got to pick it up somewhere to turn this around and make it a victory for me. Lamont, you're moving up from Super Featherweight to lightweight.
Starting point is 00:25:20 Were you afraid that moving up might rob you or some of the power? Because, you know, normally guys that move up, they lose some of the sting. Were you concerned about that? Are you going to stay? Are you going to stay in Superfeather? Are you looking to move up? to maybe go to 135, 140, even higher? No, one thing that 135 gave me
Starting point is 00:25:38 is a lot more stiny. I ain't a lot. It was five less pounds I had to lose. So, you know, I felt... So what do you normally walk around at, Lamont? Normally, I want to say if... 50, 55? Especially if I'm in the gym?
Starting point is 00:25:50 No, no, no, I walk around like 150. Somewhere around 150, 149 on a good day. If I'm on vacation, I don't get no higher than 55, so... Okay. Okay. So you, so I think that works. I think that's one of the thing that helped Floyd Mayweather because Florida is not a naturally big man. So it was easy for him to stay at 147 because Florida only walking around it like 150 to begin with. So he goes for six, eight weeks. He lose five pounds.
Starting point is 00:26:19 That's his sweet spot. And that's another thing with you. It's not like you're walking around 165. 161, 165 and you got to strip down 35, 30 pounds. You only having to come down 10, maybe even 15 pounds at a max. So that's a lot that's not that's not that drastic where you see these guys have to go through this this massive dehydration in order to make weight
Starting point is 00:26:44 because, man, you keep doing that flux of weight in your body, man. It takes something out of you, man. It definitely takes a toll on you for show. Hey, listen, after a fight like this, how much time do y'all take off? Like, I mean, before you get back in and gradually just start building yourself back, not
Starting point is 00:27:02 only in the shape, but just making sure you don't lose that rhythm and consistency. That's tough, man, especially how boxing is today. That's more so, like, a personal. So me personally, I don't like being out of the gym too long. I get, I get cussed out by my doctor because he told me to take a break. You know what I'm saying? And I understand because your body do need to heal, rest. I've been through an eight-week training camp and then went through a hard 12-round fight.
Starting point is 00:27:29 So, you know, you know, you got to get your body to get your body. together, take some time off, because when you peek, when you peek and you peek at the right time, and I think I peaked at the perfect time Saturday night, it's, you know, it depletes you. So I get a little rest. I get a little rest probably like two weeks. I want to be back in the gym. One, because I probably get too heavy and I'm like, I don't feel, I don't feel right. Right.
Starting point is 00:27:55 And I'd be bored. I normally be in a gym. So that's how I go. Wait, where you live at? I live in D.C. Okay, okay. I'm going to make a little trip down there, man. Whenever you get back in the gym and you want to start sparring, I'm going to come down there.
Starting point is 00:28:13 And I got a little. I'm a bad man, Chad. I don't know. I know. I'm a bad man, too. That's what I'm a teacher called me with us in the hospital. But listen, I got a little bit for you, right? We're going to do eight rounds, right?
Starting point is 00:28:22 We're going to do eight rounds? Yeah, we're going to do eight. Yeah. If you can, if you can beat me at least four rounds. Now, you know, LeBron James, he just scored 50,000 points, right? He sent me the ball. If you could beat me, if you can win more rounds of me, I'll see you this ball he gave me to put up.
Starting point is 00:28:43 I'm going to call my dad right now. We can set that up. We're going to set that up for show. You're going to take that ball above him? Man, that's going to be that's going to write a trophy case. Okay. Right on top of the belt. Okay, matter of fact, I'm going to make it easy for you.
Starting point is 00:28:57 I'm only using my jab hand on it. Oh, man. You're giving me. You're giving it away. Nah, I mean, listen, I can take what I'm doing I still win. That's what I do. I told you they called me hell of hands. You giving the prize away. Braun ain't going to like that.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Oh, no, you ain't going to get that? You think I'm a, you think I'm a loser, you and lose that ball? For sure. The devil is the last. Hey, let me ask you this, Lamont. After the tank fight, who would you like to fight out of the tank? Are you going to stay in, are you going to go, are you going to stay? If you, if you go back, if you rematch, you beat Tank.
Starting point is 00:29:30 at 135. Are you going to stay at 135 or slide back down to 130 or go up even to 140? It depends on what's available. If the champions at 35 are available, I want to fight them. I want to unify, obviously.
Starting point is 00:29:47 That's good for my career. It's like legacy fights and on top of that, they're big money fights. Money. If they're not available, I would go definitely defend my title at 30 and probably try to unify there because I can make 30 comfortably
Starting point is 00:30:02 and I feel like I run that division. Like, I probably can even go undisputed if they let me. That's laugh. Lamar, being a student of the game, I know you heard your dad, you weren't around there, but I know your
Starting point is 00:30:18 dad has told you or whomever in your corner about the four kings. Hearns, Hagler, Duran, Leonard, and how they fought each other. And all the top contenders in that, They fought them. You go back to the 70s.
Starting point is 00:30:33 You look at the heavyweights. They fought Norton, fault Ali. He fought Frasier. He fought for, he fought Shavers. He fought Ali. Nobody ducked. Why is it now, Lamont, that we have guys and they want to cherry pick and don't want to take, it seems like, and I love Floyd.
Starting point is 00:30:53 But Floyd, that 50 and O, because nobody wants to take an ass whipping now. Because now they feel like my legacy is ruined. I lost the fight. Some of the great fighters, we don't look at Ali because he lost three or four times, even when he looked bad fighting Trevor Burbank or Larry Holmes.
Starting point is 00:31:09 We don't hold that against him. We don't hold against Leonard. We don't hold against Hagler. We don't hold against Hagen. We don't hold against nobody. I don't know, and I hate that I love Floyd and I'm glad he's undefeated. But everybody thinks now, if I be undefeated,
Starting point is 00:31:23 I'm going to be revered like Floyd. And it's not going to happen. It ain't. Floyd is one-of-a-kind fighter, man. in the caliber even if a lot of people do go undefeated and retire undefeated it's not going to be the same and it's not going to be the same because Floyd put it in his word Floyd fought them guys when when he was able to he fought everybody he fought them guys and he earned the right to fight who he wanted to when he wanted to whatever the case may be
Starting point is 00:31:55 he that's that's just a once in a lifetime fighter uh i don't know why the guys are not well maybe i do i'm gonna give you a little scoop these guys are worried about the money that they can make if they told you if they still have a oh on their record they think that a blemish would knock down the value of their car whatever they have in their contract or whatever they have presented to them which is you know crazy to me i think if you put on a good enough fight no matter if you win or lose the performance is what matters and it's it's really what matters so people want to pay to see you fight if you fight the good fights that's what that's what they're going to pay to see it that's they're going to pay to see it that's they're going to pay
Starting point is 00:32:45 numbers used to be so high because people are going to pay they want to see certain fights they want to see them fights look at micky look at micky look at micky ward and our two old guys that was jam-packed loss didn't matter people still pay big money to see that because they know they were going to get action but now lamont guys like you know what yeah if i fought lamont i can make 15 mil but if i fight this guy that i know i can whip i can make 10 so why take the chance for an extra five when i can get this can over here and i can whip him for 10 so i just get me a couple i get me five or 10 i get me five or 10 to $10 million fight, why would I need to take a risk for two of those big fights? No, I ain't going to do that.
Starting point is 00:33:28 But then, you got to think about that. Lamont, I told Uncle the other night, we talked about this too, right? Not only do certain people not want to take risk, but you want to build it up until you get to the really, really good fight. So if you got, like you talk about the four kings back then, back in the day, right? And today's, if you got the best boxes, right? And if all the best boxes fight each other right now and not have fight after fight after fight and actually build it so people want to actually, actually want to watch and you can
Starting point is 00:33:56 maximize your pay, that's a little different. Think about how long before Earl and Bud actually for it. Look how long it took. Look how many fights they had because they were to build up to it. So from that standpoint, I kind of get it and understand you want to maximize your pay. You also, nobody wants to lose. But at some point, they ain't going to have no choice but to fight each other. Oh, Cho. You got to understand. The timing got to be right. But think about it. And Lamont, you know this. Sugar Ray went to $160 to fly Hagler.
Starting point is 00:34:27 He definitely did. He didn't come down. They went to him. They did. And you're talking about guys that's very similar, $130, 135. They went up to $2. Sugar Ray was 147, went to 160. Hagler, or Hurons was 147, went to 160.
Starting point is 00:34:44 He definitely right about that. That's middle weight. And Ray and Duran start. started at 35, so. Yeah. But Durramp was that small? One of the best lightways to ever do it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:01 A horse hands. A lot of those guys started, yes, a lot of those guys started there, Ocho. 30, 35, Fort Floyd, 30, 35, 40, 47, and Fort, Fort, uh, uh, uh, De La Jollae at 54. Mm. Yeah. Oh, yeah. A lot of them guys, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:18 And had Pachial. an anomaly. Packy y'all started at like 106, 112, and blew through everything. Eight division, eight division champion. It's still knocking them out. You're not going to see that. Even when you look at Armstrong, you look at all those guys, nobody's doing this again. Nobody's going to do that. Yeah. I mean, basically, you'd have to start at, say you'd have to start at like 140 and go to heavyweight to try to clean out of everything. And that ain't, that ain't happening at all. I mean, Roy was an anomaly because Roy, Yeah, Roy went from 60, 68, said it.
Starting point is 00:35:53 10 years straight, middleweight, heavy weight. Roy was, if Roy had, had Roy just stayed there and not stripped the muscle that he put on to go to heavy, because I think that took a lot out of him. That took too much out of him. He probably should have stayed. He probably should have never come back down or just took his time. But Roy won the title, couldn't get nobody else to fight, gave the title up and came back down, and he wasn't the same after Tarver beat him that one time.
Starting point is 00:36:20 never the same, because he got started getting beat by fighters that Roy would have mopped the floor inside of five rounds with him. Mm-hmm. Yeah. So what's next, tank? I mean, oh, excuse me, what's next, Lamont? What's next? After this tank, after this tank fight, you say you want to fight, whoever the big money
Starting point is 00:36:37 fight is, who, a, Lomo, Tiafimo, Haney, Garcia, whoever. The champs at 135 right now, Shikul, Keishon Davis, and Loma Chinko. Okay. That's what we're going to be looking at after, you know what I'm saying, after I beat tanked, after I'll be tank in the rematch. You know, if them guys ain't available, then we're going to go to 30 and defend my 130-pound championship. So listen, out of those three you just name, who would you prefer to fight first? If you can't get all three, if you had a preference. If I had a preference, I don't really got a preference.
Starting point is 00:37:14 I would put a blindfold on and pick whichever one. It don't matter. What I'm talking about you talking about this ass? Hey, tell them out, whoever won't this ass with me. That's who I want, who won't this ass with me? As a matter of fact, I tell you what, I tell you what, Lomo, you're going to get it first. So you're going to get it after I get tank. When I get tank, I'm going to get you at the first year.
Starting point is 00:37:36 Hey, Shakur, I'm going to come see you in July. And Kishan David, hey, at the end of the year or 27, I got your, I got you ass with me, too. Sound good to me, yeah, me. Sound real good. Hey, man, I appreciate it. Congratulations. Great fighting. It wasn't the outcome that you had hoped for because you trained for eight weeks,
Starting point is 00:37:57 had a great camp, and you put the time in to win. It didn't go his way, but who knows what's going to happen, July, August, when the next fight come around, wish you the best. And guess what? Come back and join us again when the fight happens at all. We'll see what happens after that, Lamar. Appreciate you. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:38:12 I appreciate it. All right, Brian. I'm going to see you in D.C. No doubt. Yeah, get my contact. We bring you out for sure. All right, man. Just a body, because he need to talk.
Starting point is 00:38:22 I don't want to get him in a job, you know. Yeah, that's what I want you to do. Yeah, yeah. That's what I'm going to do. That's what I'm going to hear what. Yeah, I got. I'm going to make sure I'll record it, too. We have it on the nightcap.
Starting point is 00:38:35 That's what I need you to do. All right, all right, all right. All right. All right, all right. All right, thank you all, man. Starting point is 00:40:42 I'm Ashley Reinfeld, and I'm the host of the women's skateboarding podcast. Good luck with that. Good luck with that is a skateboarding podcast that is part cultural record, part news brief, mostly group therapy, and a place to talk about the past, present, and future of women and gender expansive skateboarding. This week, me and my co-host, Nora Vascenzelos, and Alex White, we have Fabiana Delfino on the show, a professional skateboarder from Florida, whose grit was forged in a family of athletes. Tune in to hear how she broke into the boys club, what it takes to be pro, and why just being grateful you're here shouldn't be the price of entry. Maybe the industry thinks that we just started skating five years ago because that's when they maybe started paying attention. It's a no-fluff conversation about putting in the years,

I just want to remind everyone how good Rashid was last season. And there's three healthy games. He was the wide receiver two in fantasy. I think Rishi Rice just goes off this week. The Chiefs come on a flip pass to Rice. This side, touchdown! Remandre Stevens is my sleeper this week. This is a match-out where I think I can slide in Stevenson into my flex position, and he could deliver double-digit points this week.
Starting point is 00:42:30 Drake takes the snap, hands it off, Ramonari, running it right, and running into the end zone. Touchdown! It's never too late to turn your fantasy season around. That's the biggest boss you ever saw.
Starting point is 00:43:28 That's the homie. Ricky Rosey, what did do? What it do, family? What it do, fam? What's happening? My two brothers, what it do? Bro, what they do, baby? Everything good?
Starting point is 00:43:39 Man, everything good, baby. You know we're shining on this side. Yeah, I hear you at. But it's late. I'm sorry we kept you up this late boss, but we had to get you all here, man. Tell us what's going on. I know the car show is in June,
Starting point is 00:43:49 but you got something happening before June. Tell us all about it. Most definitely, the car show June 7th, but what we're kicking off tomorrow in Louisville is the Millennium Tour. You better believe it. The Millennium Tour, you know, it's a lot of stars on the tour,
Starting point is 00:44:03 but what made it exciting to me is me coming back out, bringing my new artist, Nino Breeze back out to hit the Strait's Tray Songs or Marion, Bowowow, Plyze, Boosy. The list goes on. Chuckie, y'all better rock with us. It's going to be special now.
Starting point is 00:44:21 Roe, let me ask you this. When you go on, okay, you want to go on tour. How do you decide the artist that you want to go on tour with you? How do you come, how do you like, okay, I want him, I want her, I want this, I want that. How do you decide that, boss? Well, whenever I call the shots in this, my tour, it's usually somebody that I got a relationship with, jail with. And on a third act, you might want to throw something else out there just for the crowd, that would be a different vibe.
Starting point is 00:44:50 Right. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. So this right here, this is the Millennium Tour. This has been a legendary tour that's been going on for many years now. And I felt it would be good for me to come hit the stage. Nino Breeze hit the stage. We do it big, close it out, put our jewels on, put our gear on.
Starting point is 00:45:08 Five-way. You know how we do that thing? Oh, yeah. So it's going to be crazy. City to city. Listen, boss, man, we've been friends, man. It got to be, we got to be going on 20 years by now, boy. We got to be going to 20 years, man.
Starting point is 00:45:22 Listen, you've always been known. I've been known to talk to, you know, in our own personal conversation, in your interviews, you're always dropping wisdom. For the people that are listening, what's the best financial advice you've ever received? Because you're one of the most savvy businessmen and you're very, very good with your money. Because as an artist, I don't think people understand how difficult it is. what you've been able to do and accomplish is maintaining longevity. Not just getting it, but maintaining it long term.
Starting point is 00:45:52 Man, please tell the people, man, how you've been able to do it? Because not very many, as long as rap has been around, everybody hasn't been able to maintain longevity. Well, for Rose, it's really, it's the consistency. You know, I've got my hands in 20 different things. Everything may not win as much as other. And some may not win it all. But when you win, make sure you win big.
Starting point is 00:46:18 When you're repping something, you hold it up high. Everywhere you go, that's why I love staying on tour, love going across the country. Because when I go, my brands go, my teams go. And we've wrapped all around the world wherever we go. And that's how we do it. You know what I mean? Then when you come back home, buy you a little piece of land. They could make that car, but they can't buy that corner.
Starting point is 00:46:39 They got to come see you to get that corner if you're on that corner. That's what we talk about. But boss, if you think about it, boss, music might have got you started. That might be your foundation. Right. That ain't where you make the most of your money at, boss. And that's what, look at Hove.
Starting point is 00:46:57 Hove might have got started in music, but Hove got a whole lot. He'll be a billionaire because of something else. It's definitely, that's what it is. The music introduced us to the world. Now you got to take it to where you want to take it to. and you got to earn it, but you got to turn it all the way up. And as long as you stay solid, keep your face clean, your face clean,
Starting point is 00:47:19 and you mean what you say. Yeah. Boss, when I look at you and I hear you talk, man, and I like brothers that get in paper, but don't talk down about somebody else. Because a lot of times we have the propensity, Roth, that we make a little paper or somebody make a little paper more than us, that we start to feel some type of way,
Starting point is 00:47:38 and we try to be negative towards that paper. When we got, there's an opportunity. And I told, I was telling us, I was telling Nocho this the other day. 80% of the money that's in circulation has been printed since 2020. So what that tells me, Ross, if they run out of money, they'll print some more. Oh, if you, if your boy getting all of it, don't worry about it. Just wait a couple of days. They're going to go back to the factory.
Starting point is 00:48:00 They're going to print some more for you. You already know. And we're going to make sure they keep printing us some. And when they come to us getting paper, we ain't talking down on nobody. This is motivational purposes only Whenever you see that jet fly in You see that yacht pull up That's the hard work
Starting point is 00:48:18 You see the fun times You see the rewards But you got to see the grind When you come to my story Every morning You go hear Rosee preaching Let's go get it Let's do something new
Starting point is 00:48:29 You got to get that piss At the back of that toilet You got to get the rust off the side of Mama House It's 2025 We can't be bushed Man we're going all the way up man.
Starting point is 00:48:41 Hey. This episode of Nightcap is brought to you by Kola Guard, a non-invasive colic cancer screening test. Did you know colon cancer is considered one of the most preventable, yet least prevented cancers? When caught in the early stages, colon cancer has a survival rate of 90%. So screening and early detections are key to reducing overall colon cancer deaths. That's why the American Cancer Society recommends that if you're at average risk, you begin
Starting point is 00:49:08 screening for colon cancer at age 40. And a convenient way to do that is with coliagard tests. The coliagard test allows you to be in control of your colon cancer screening through prescription-based tests delivered to your door with none of the prep that's required for colonoscopy. No liquid prep, no days off, no invasive procedures. Plus, coliagard test is affordable. Most insured patients pay $0. And a follow-up colonoscopy is needed after a positive coliagard test. This is usually covered by insurance also.
Starting point is 00:49:40 So if you're 45 years of older and at average risk, you can ask your health care provider about screening for colon cancer with a coliagard test. You can also request a coliagard prescription today at coliagard.com slash podcast. The coliagard test is intended to screen adults 45 in odor at average risk for colorectal cancer. Do not use coliard test if you have had adenemus, have inflammatory biode disease, and certain hereditary syndromes or personal or family history of colorectal cancer. The coliagard test is not a replacement for colonoscopies. High risk patients, coliard tests, and adults 45 to 49 is estimated based on a large clinical study of patients of 50 and older.
Starting point is 00:50:13 False positive and false negatives can't occur. Coligart is available by prescription only. Hey, listen, a lot of rappers now, a lot of rappers, athletes and general athletes as well that are retired have gotten into sports ownership. You're a huge advocate for our Miami Dolphins, obviously. If the Dolphins never came up for sale, would you be interested in buying the dolphins?
Starting point is 00:50:37 without a doubt that's without a doubt that's without a doubt and if we make that happen I throw in their meat in the water boy you know what I mean I throw that in
Starting point is 00:50:52 listen check if you were able if you were able to be the takeover for Stephen Ross and you were able to be the GM what's the first move you'll make for you a dog you'd be honest I spent some money We're going to spend us somebody. We got to get somebody else to back up tour.
Starting point is 00:51:12 We love to him. He's an amazing person, amazing quarterback. But we just got to make sure we get somebody behind them. We're going to do some few. We're going to do a few things on the defense. Okay. It's a few things we got to do. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:51:26 For us to have that run, like y'all was just discussing, that Lakers run. We got to have to Lakers run. We need us some rings down here, and we really deserve it. As a true Dauphin, we really feel. frustrated, homie. Listen, it's been a long time,
Starting point is 00:51:41 boy. It's been a long time. And I'm talking about this past season. We was all thinking and dreaming Super Bowl. Yeah. Expectation for high
Starting point is 00:51:51 based on what we did last year. And for those in the chat, they're going to say, oh, you played for the band. And goes, I'm from Dade County. I'm from Liberty City First. I was with the
Starting point is 00:52:01 old fan before I got drafted. You better believe it. Bob, let me ask you this. I hope you, I hope you remember that song you did at the house. Oh, yeah. I remember. I remember. I may have to leak that.
Starting point is 00:52:16 I may have to leak that. Man, let me know. Let me know. Let me know. Let me ask you this. You were talking about the grind how you get up, but it seems like people forget the grind. I'm not talking about you because you know what you went through. But when they see the yachts, they see the private jets, they see the whips.
Starting point is 00:52:33 They're like, oh, he did something. but they forget what Ross did. This is the byproduct. This is the finished product. But what about that 10, 15 year period that y'all didn't see Ross grinding? That y'all didn't see that struggle. That y'all didn't see me cleaning the cars,
Starting point is 00:52:49 making $20 and do a little extra when I go get gas and put the fresh scent inside of it. You didn't see that. All you see is the after, but nobody sees the struggle or wants to believe that there was a struggle in order to get to the other side. Without a doubt, it most definitely was a struggle
Starting point is 00:53:05 for Ricky. Rose, those 20 years before I got on, nobody, you know, they didn't, they don't want to recognize that all of the records I wrote for others. Imagine you having records that never work yet and you walk in the club and you hear something that you wrote and it's going crazy. But guess what? You stay down. We stay down.
Starting point is 00:53:26 Like, yo, it's so many, it's so many potential MVP players that's riding the bench. There's so many people who's sitting down mad at themselves. Oh, man, I ain't going to even go in. No, I got to get in the game, and I got to show everybody my value. And once I get in the game, I ain't going to look back. And that's what we did. I tell Locho this all the time. I say, Ocho, you don't realize how much success you can have
Starting point is 00:53:50 as long as you don't care who gets the credit. A lot of times, I want to, if it can't be done my way, Rose, the hell with it. I'll blow it up. If you won't let me drive the boat, I'll sink the whole ship. It's so funny. And that you imagine to you talk about
Starting point is 00:54:10 when it comes to athletes or anyone that has any type of success a lot of people are looking for instant gratification not understanding the process
Starting point is 00:54:19 that goes into it anything that you get right away it never lasts. Ross, you would probably remember you told a story long time ago
Starting point is 00:54:27 I had no idea how long it took how long you was in the game before you even saw real money how long you have to grind and get it together and actually get it before I don't know you might have been maybe eight, nine,
Starting point is 00:54:42 10 years in the game until you actually saw some real money as an artist and was like, okay, okay, it's paying off. And not everybody see the finished product, you know, the jewelry, the houses, the car, and not understanding how long it even took to get to that point. Oh, believe that. It most definitely took a long time.
Starting point is 00:55:06 And it's like when you're doing it for love, you're doing it out of passion that it won't allow you to quit. Right. You've got to find a way to love whatever it is you're doing. Even if you're getting up and you're shooting your content, two, three in the morning, you got to get up and love it. They're going to fill it in you. They're going to see it in you.
Starting point is 00:55:25 And that's what it was. It wouldn't allow me to quit. So after I got on, as soon as I could do my first show for $200, $300, $500, $500, that wasn't much, but that was progress for me. And it was more than enough to feed my love. So I wouldn't stop. And here we are right now. And that's what happened.
Starting point is 00:55:47 When people ask me, Ross, man, give me some advice. I say find something that you're passionate about because that's what's going to get you out of bed. That's going to what's going to make you focus and lock in to do what you need to do in order to get done what you need to do. Find your passion. Don't, well, I think I want to do this. Well, see, the minute you tell me you think you want to do something, you're not passionate about it. Because what you're passionate about, you're going to do.
Starting point is 00:56:13 Absolutely. And you know, you're going to win, and you're going to win big when you're passionate about it. Absolutely. I look forward to doing it. It's just like laying that outfit out, that night before school. When you get to bring it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:28 You got to lay the outfit out. Because if you don't put it out, out the night before, you might be rushing. You might wake up a little late, Roe, and you might, hey, you might not have the outfit. But at night before, I lay that thing at them. Them Lee jeans was crispy. Stards that Niagara, start you're the...
Starting point is 00:56:44 You put the socks in his shoes. You make sure they might there. So just in case, don't nothing get... Hey, man, I'm ready. I'm ready. And when you get to school that next day, trust me, you're a different individual. That's going to be priceless.
Starting point is 00:56:57 Man, look here. I'll be so clean the first day of school. If a fly light on me, I cut it through. You ain't got no business on me. Now, you know I'm too clean to you for you to lay in your ass on me. Hey, y'all. Hey, Rose, let me ask you,
Starting point is 00:57:10 like, when you, when you started this thing, obviously everybody knew you from the music. But you weren't satisfied with that because you felt that, okay, that's my foundation. People know me for this. But you know what? Since y'all know me,
Starting point is 00:57:22 let me see if y'all want to do business with the boss. Hey, we don't stop. Get at your boy. Get at your boy. Get at your boy. I'm going to tell you, that's what Luke had been doing.
Starting point is 00:57:31 You could have got around some right homies. He'd been eating them, lemon peppers with that ranch dressing. I'm telling you right now. I'm telling you, that's what it is, man. And once I went out, I did business, once Wingstops seen it, checkers seen it, all the other brands, Bugatti luggage, everybody else started falling in place. I ain't dropping the ball.
Starting point is 00:57:54 We're doing potato chips. Let's do noodles. Okay, we did an amazing thing with Wingstop. Let's take it to the next. level, let's create our own chicken that's coming in. Hey, how difficult, how difficult is it for obviously you have to have some type of foundation, some type of background, have to have some type of success behind you. But when it comes to working with brands of that magnitude, is it difficult to get
Starting point is 00:58:19 involved with them? Well, after you sustain, after you establish a certain amount of success, they can't see your vision When you go down and lay out, look, this is the idea I got, this is what I want to do, I mean it, I love it. And besides, like me, I bought my first franchise, went to my second, my third. You know, they're sitting back watching. Damn, when are he going to stop? He at 20, he at 25. Hey, man, you understand?
Starting point is 00:58:52 So they understand my book, you know, my passion, how hard we went and how amazing my team was. Yeah. Understand? there. So once they understand and know you got the team, they're going to let you run with it, especially if you really get money. That's what it's going to come down to. Who's going to rep the brand and get some money? And I did them both. Well, yeah, that's the color that people be looking at. You know what I mean? Yeah, black and white and all that other stuff, but they count green. People can see green. People might be colorblind,
Starting point is 00:59:22 Rose. No, they are colorblind. They have colorblind, but what's that thing starting coming? Everybody get on the same page. but the cattle start bloke. That's all they care about. They're like, hey, give him another one. Hey, where you want your next week, stop there, boss? Matter of fact, where you want your next 10 at, boss? Let's go out in, let's go to L.A. and Texas, baby.
Starting point is 00:59:48 Hey, boss, look, we know you love cars. Let me ask you a question. How did you decide to come up with a car show? Because I know you love cars. You were telling me when I did the interview with you a couple of years ago, you told me cars have always been your passion. right they always been my passion i looked up one day realized i was at close to 60 70 cars damn yeah i'm at the promise land that was then yeah i'm at the promise land we at two
Starting point is 01:00:14 250 plus acres and i find myself looking around thing let's do this right yeah we came off the very first one and when i say the culture came out the streets came out, the cars, the bikes, the trucks, the ladies, the hustlers, the athletes, Chad, Ocho was out there riding horses all day. I'm talking about, hey, horseback ride. That's what made me think of doing the rodeo next. I'm like, yo, if you do a rodeo, I'm riding the bull. Hey, you know what?
Starting point is 01:00:53 I'm going to take the challenge right behind you. I'm going to get on the board, too, man. We ride the bulls. Rosey, Rosey, Rosey, whoa, I got to stop you, Rosey. Rosey, I saw you on the diving board. I don't know if you can hit it. I don't know. I don't know if you can hit the ground because that water, the water softened.
Starting point is 01:01:13 No, I can't hit that ground. I'm going to let you do right now. I can't afford that, man. I got shows and do we on tour, man. Yeah, you're back. Wait till the tour over, boss. Bob, let that tour be over before you do that rodeo. Listen, man, I, I ain't going to do the rodeo, Ocho.
Starting point is 01:01:29 I'm going to watch. to make sure we've got the biggest bulls out there so we could go out there and watch a real performance. I was at the car show. I'm supposed to be out there. You know, I enjoy myself and look at the car. Look at it some ideas. Maybe if I happen to want to spend a little money.
Starting point is 01:01:46 Man, I spent about three hours of the damn horses, man. Hey, boss, let me ask you this. All day. Some of those cars, do some of those cars be for sale? It's like this. I'm thinking about raffling maybe a raffling something off
Starting point is 01:02:05 or maybe giving one away this year but all of mine you know I usually keep I buy cars throughout the day of the car show because there's some homies come out who's selling their cars and in certain situations
Starting point is 01:02:17 I just made an offer they couldn't resist I don't bought one for 50 quarter million let's go let's run it 57 Bel Air convertible from the kids yeah you love them Bel Air
Starting point is 01:02:28 you love that 57, 55, you love them, Bel Airs, ball. In 57s, them 55s, I love them 73 verts, them 7-1s. That's that day county vibe as well. So I love my convertibles. I love my Chevolades. You know what I mean? That's just high go.
Starting point is 01:02:44 And if somebody bring the right Chevy, I'm going to take it off you. I'm going to take it off your hand. I don't know. So you mainly a Chevy guy. You mainly a Chevy guy. You ain't really big in the Mopards or anything like that, huh? No, I'm a Chevy guy. Then I love me the Chevys, then the Shelby's, the Must.
Starting point is 01:03:03 Oh, okay, a four, the Cobra. Yeah, yeah, yeah, the Cowan Shelby. I rock with those in a major way. But that's how I usually go for me. And I cut it off right after that. Okay. That 427 Cobra. You got a cobra?
Starting point is 01:03:18 Of course. Oh, you try. Oh, you got one. You got one boss? Man, I had to. You know, them Shelby's. I love them Shelby's. I was in one of my Shelby's today, man.
Starting point is 01:03:27 I love them. I love them. I do. What did you got on, Joe? Listen, I can't wait that. So when the tour, let me, when the tour kick off, boss? The tour actually kicking off today. It's kicking off Louisville, Kentucky.
Starting point is 01:03:41 Like I say, the lineup next level, all the heavyweights. Omariang, bow, bow, wow, tray songs, plies, boosy, badass, Ricky Rose, Nino Breeze. We're going all the way out. This tour, I'm going to enjoy it. You know what I'm saying? I'm going to watch the homies do their thing. I know the ladies going to be in the crowd.
Starting point is 01:04:00 I'm going to come out there, hit them with hits back to back. Nino Breeze hit him. Give them another Nino Breeze. I'm going to give him another one. You know, that's how we going to do it. We ain't even playing. Hey, boss, I appreciate you staying. We appreciate you staying up nightcap.
Starting point is 01:04:18 I really appreciate you staying up late. We know it's probably past your bedtime. The tour kicks off the day. So, hey, bro, thank you for your time. y'all make sure y'all go check out the millennium tour uh with the boss the biggest boss you ever saw Rick Ross trade songs bow wow uh plies boosy bad ass nino breezy Benno breezy better believe it it's gonna be crazy man y'all better pull up louisville kentucky get your tickets right now be there tonight rickie rosalma wear me one of them big coats coming
Starting point is 01:04:49 out there huh hey appreciate that boss enjoy man We're catching down the road. Thanks for joining us. Y'all keep killing them, man. Y'all number one in the streets, number one in the game, number one in the world. Don't stop, baby.
Starting point is 01:05:04 Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Appreciate that. The biggest boss. It's two weeks. I didn't get your feelings on this because, you know, you, you, you, you, the way you handled this was very, very, very perfect.
Starting point is 01:05:20 You had two friends kind of get into it a little bit. How'd that feel? Who that LeBron? Yeah, man, I know that put you in a little pickle, man. I know that put you in a pickle. Bad, man, look here. Stephen A is Stephen A. LeBron felt that Stephen A crossed the line
Starting point is 01:05:40 because he questioned him as a father. You're not questioning Bronny's skills. You're not questioning my skills. You're questioning, saying I'm doing damage to my son by having him play. Bro, he's the 55th player. I mean, there's only, there's only 60 players selected. They make it seem like they took Bronny in the lottery.
Starting point is 01:06:02 And plus, you have to understand the man had a major medical issue. Give him some time to recover from that. Now, if in three years, he's still melling around, okay, it is what he is. Maybe he's a career G-leager. Maybe he's a serviceable role player. but for me once it tells me a lot
Starting point is 01:06:25 for LeBron to do what he did because LeBron has swallowed a lot of stuff for 22 years for him to approach him in a public setting during the timeout of a basketball game lets you know just how upset
Starting point is 01:06:38 he was. He said what he said Stephen A said he understood cool. The problem that I had with Stephen A and I told Stephen A this bro you should have left that alone. Once you saw,
Starting point is 01:06:50 say you understood it, but when you went and made the rounds and you said what you said on Gills Arena and you went to other platforms and then like you add a yeast to the story, that's where, that's why I was out on it. I mean, Stephen and my guy, we talk about a lot of stuff, not just, you know, first take stuff. We talk about a lot of stuff and, you know, he's helped me, giving me some good advice and I like to think I've given him some. I just wish whatever happened that Friday night or whatever it was, that would have been the end of it. And we made a good case on our on our pie we made a good case uh people should be judged case scenario right right talk about the talent right talk about me not being good talk about like criticize
Starting point is 01:07:34 me right but don't criticize me because of who my dad is like you say I'm 55th pick ain't nobody talking about these two bummed ass motherfuckers that was number one and number two exactly that's losing every game we don't even know look we talk about brownie so much people forget that he was the 55th pick people forget who the first three picks were hell i couldn't tell you i mean hardly any of the picks my point exactly you feel me so like when you when you're dealing with that right and and and and and one thing i like about the james family the way they take the criticism is is absolutely everybody can't everybody Everybody ain't built for that, no, Pat.
Starting point is 01:08:17 Remarkable. Yeah. Also, Pat, you know, you've got to understand. You've got to understand how long they've been in it, how long they've been in. So really, after this, after this long, you've got to think the press has been on the bronze is what, coming out of high school. Because of the band. Since he was a junior in high school.
Starting point is 01:08:31 Everybody, he burst on the scene when they put him on, cover, on Sports Illustrated, said the chosen one. Yeah. So he's 40. He's 40 now. He was 16 or 17 then. So that's been 23, 24 years. For damn near a quarter century, he's been in the public eye.
Starting point is 01:08:49 Yeah, so he's, and so it's just like any parent. If you're in a situation and you can help your child, who doesn't? We see these CEOs and presidents and the only companies. What did Jerry do? All of his kids, ain't nobody saying, well, Stephen ain't qualified. Charlotte ain't qualified. Yeah. As a parent, that's what you do.
Starting point is 01:09:11 You try to put your kid in the best situation. And then it's up to him. to make the best of the situation that we got we got the blueprint from them that's what we got the blue oh man i see these CEOs they doing this man okay man this person deserved this job but they go hire they go hire cuzzle over here cousin and really did nothing they still go huh okay cool we sealed all that thing so let us do the same thing right i mean collectively longevity. You talk about legacy-wise. You have to get the first, the mom a lot of credit because it starts with her and it trickles all the way down, right? To Ms. Savant, it trickles
Starting point is 01:09:57 all the way down. You have to get that family a lot of credit. They've done a lot and to steal every time you see them for them to look so, so royal, with so much royalty and handling themselves as much class, it's really impressive, especially coming from the black culture, especially coming from the black culture. And this is how I know, this is how I know. not only the James class, the James family is class personified, but LeBron James is well, Pat, because you think about his accolades, his achievements, and what he's been able to do since coming out of high school,
Starting point is 01:10:28 the pressure being on him, him being able to take it all this time and reaching a milestone of being the highest-scoring NBA player of all time. And the fact that when he hit that 50,000 points, you know, in whatever game that was, I just want to show you because the rest of the chat have seen it
Starting point is 01:10:47 some of the other people that have been on here be able to see Unka's been able to see it you know LeBron gifted me the 50,000 ball the 50,000 point ball
Starting point is 01:10:55 and I just want to show it to you just check that out you sure? Yeah you know I was on the Lakers when that game happened yeah just the ball right here
Starting point is 01:11:08 you're turning around a little bit no that ain't it no you ain't it no that ain't it i know i haven't played with that ball i didn't play with that ball yeah i scored too that game that ain't the ball i scored with that ain't the ball that ain't the ball what do you think about guys staying in college longer because oh you all like that do you think that'll yeah all like that that's semi-pro that's all that is
Starting point is 01:11:38 right like if you actually think about about it and break it down, that's semi-pro. And it's crazy because three years ago, everybody crying about, yeah, get an athlete, yeah, get the college players, man, they need to get paid. I'm all with anyone doing anything you love. You can get paid to do it, do it. I'm with it until it hurts the game.
Starting point is 01:11:58 When I watch Arbor play, it felt like, and they end up losing, but in the beginning of the game, it felt like grown man going against teenagers. Right. Right. Right. And like, and I was a kid that had to go through college, 18, 19 year old. We all know who Steph Curry was in my class. We already know Kevin Durant. He, like, all these guys in my class. You in the 06 class, you took your class serious. Right. How am I still in college cooking? And you in the NBA cooking and we're in the same class.
Starting point is 01:12:32 Right. How y'all older than OKC? Yeah. and you telling me like and you want you and people wonder like man it wasn't a lot of buzzer beaters yeah because it's grown man playing now it ain't a lot of one shining moments no more
Starting point is 01:12:49 remember in college basketball you know how many three two one somebody shoot from half man it's semi-pro semi-pro man and it's going to hurt the NBA that's what it's going to do it's going to hurt the NBA Padam we're going to get you out on this one you being a Chicago native give me your top five players
Starting point is 01:13:08 to come out of Chicago. Man, got to go D. Rose. Yeah. D. Rose, that's one. Gotta go D. Rose. That's off the top. Got to go D. Rose. I'm kind of different.
Starting point is 01:13:22 So I'm going to go, Hey, Unk, listen, I know a lot of these people, your friends. So what I call Chicago might be kind of different than what people call Chicago. A lot of people might say they from Chicago, but I ain't never seen them up.
Starting point is 01:13:36 fucking walk down the street. You feel me? So my Chicago is very different than a lot of people, Chicago. So I'm going to start with D. Rose, right? I'm going to start with Isaiah Thomas. Okay, first two. It was a guy back in the day.
Starting point is 01:13:52 I don't know if y'all know his name was Benji Wilson. Benji. Right. Simeon. He's the one who started a lot, and he don't get enough credit. I'm putting him in there. Right.
Starting point is 01:14:05 now it gets it gets kind of funny right it gets kind of funny um because you can go Michael Finley right you can go quitting Richardson Antoine Walker you can go right now but I'm not I'm gonna go wheel buying them wow what he did in high school was electric I've never seen anybody he's probably the best high school player that ever came out of Chicago Wow, because he averaged like 30-something, maybe. He went to crane. Yeah, I'm talking about I was a kid running up to the school. I'm running up to the school hoping to get in the game, right, hoping to get in the game.
Starting point is 01:14:47 And then I got to go, I got to give it to him. I got it, I got to, I got to, I got to give it to, it's tough, because I can go, I can go Anthony Davis. I can go D. Wade, I can go, you know, but I'm talking about the Chicago, Chicago. So I go, I go Anthony Davis. I go Anthony Davis. Wow. But my Chicago different, though. That's all.
Starting point is 01:15:13 You feel me? Like, other people that say they're from Chicago, it's a 45-minute, 33-minute drive. Where I'm at to them. You got to be from the side side or the west side to be in Chicago. I don't want to step on. Nobody told, because there's a lot of people
Starting point is 01:15:30 that say they came out of Chicago, but from the west side, Chicago. Only person that I kind of know that went to the NBA is me from Chicago. Right, I got you. I got you. That's all. So, but if you want to go other Chicago, I'm going to go D-Waid. I'm going to go
Starting point is 01:15:46 Anthony Davis. I'm going to go D. Rose. I'm going to go Isaiah Thomas. I'm going to go Antoine Walker. I'm going to go. Is that another email from your boss bragging about their fantasy football team? It's time to take them down in the playoffs.
