That's why I've been in my own lane, my own world, and put it the way. People love to take ish out of context to rationalize a statement in their own head that makes sense to them. What a world. The video came out today of Odell selling game worn chrome heart cleats for 50K. Yeah, eh, um, remember, remember when I, um, you were telling me the story, um, and I said, I thought, I thought he was given, um, perspective and context on how difficult it is to, to be able to manage money. I didn't, I didn't really think he was talking about himself. No, but Ocho, if you got, Ocho, what's difficult about managing 60 million liquid? Hold on, well, what's difficult?

The number, the percentage of athletes, NBA, NFL, MLB is damn than 90% now. So, I mean, it's difficult. That's why I thought, I thought. Because the first thing, when he said it and gave context and perspective on how difficult it is, I thought he was meaning in general, not specifically talking about himself. That's all. But go ahead. I get what he's saying.

Yes, sir. But you're spending, first of all, spending $4 million. dollars and in yearly expenses yes sir your home family home x y and z well first of all to spend that you need to make make at least 10 million right because you depending on where you are now if you're in a state that takes 50 percent now if you in lost but you in nevada you in texas you in florida i think ohio has no state income tax i think arizona is like 2 so if you're in one of those states so it's going to take about 10 million to do that to have that kind of lifestyle right now now what happens is ocho

is that you still try to maintain that lifestyle, Joe, when you're not bringing in $10 million and you're still spending that money kind of money going out. That's why they go out. That's why you see guys go belly up, Ocho, is that you don't change your spending habits. It's the same way, if you're an athlete, you eat whatever you want, you work out.

Now all of a sudden you're not an athlete and you still eat whatever you want. Now all of a sudden, D.Bs look like D. Lyman. That's what happens with money. Hey, hey, think about what you just said. Hey, Joe, think about what you just said, right? Think about what Ung just said real quick, right? Is you live in a lifestyle

when the money's coming in fast. Right. You become accustomed to that lifestyle. That lifestyle actually becomes your image and it becomes an identity. Yeah. So once you stop playing the transition to be able to stop and have the discipline

to be able to cut it off to become a minimalist almost in a sense, it's almost impossible. It's hard. Because you always want to maintain that, lifestyle and that image because what's the first thing everybody that you're trying to goddamn impress no say oh he ain't got it the moat oh he broke and the first time on show you ain't got a new car man hey he must be doing bad yeah right got bad you know hey you just see here with a new whip

every other yeah hey hey joe one thing about it boy i learned early i learned early i did not want to try to keep up with the joneses i did not want to keep and joe and joe i did it when i was in the bulk of my money, Joe. Joe, I came in the NFL already cheap as hell. I didn't care about people making fun of me. I didn't care about certain types of women not one to date me because they know, yeah, he ain't going to be paying nothing.

He's not, you know, you ain't getting nothing. That's okay. But I understand, I understand dealing with you is nothing but a liability anyway. Right. You know, I got the table and the legs you got ain't gonna hold it up. Hello, hello.

You know, so you understand that you play the game, Joe. It's all a game. And the better you learn to play the game the longer you will be able to be without it's okay but so many of us um so many of us are so caught up and looking like we fucking got it like i don't everybody want to be rich everybody want to look like they like like shit no that that's not reality social media has us fooled it has all of us fooled they ain't got me fool they ain't got me fool because i know they'll I do okay and I ain't living like that.

No, I ain't got it like that. You know what's scary, Joe? Joe, this is a scary part and this is for men and women. When it comes to the people that try to maintain that lifestyle and you know they don't make the kind of money to continue that lifestyle, especially if you don't play sports. If you don't play sports and you and all this flashy shit, that means you're willing to do anything, anything to maintain that image.

That in itself is dangerous, Joe. Yeah. If you leave the sport and you get you a gig and you're making money like Stephen A. You're making money like Strayhan. You're making money like Tony Romo. You're making money like Tom Brady. Yeah.

Take off. Wait, hold on. Hold on. Now what you're not going to do is I ain't going to me. I don't mean to put the people in our business. But if you're making money like Uncle Ocho, shit. Hey, listen, hey, boy, hey.

Okay. Money like that. Huh? Uh-oh, I'm gonna set everybody up, everybody good, mom, good, sister, good, everybody good. Listen, listen. I'm gonna say this one more time. I guess, I see them numbers at the end of each month. Yeah, just, just add us to that goddamn equation.

The more famous, you become. the more well up you become the relationships become more transactional y'all know what transactional is yes i agree i agree let me let me let me get let me dive a little deep before you real quick uncle joe even if you're not wealthy even if you're not making millions even you're making 100 000 or even if you're a thousandaire you know you know you know to get paid every two weeks the individual that you're dealing with is still dealing with you based on the ability for you to provide and give them stability in a sense of peace always always so it's still a line those those same that same quote and analogy that unc used are still aligns regardless of

how much you makes based on your partner ask your partner and tell her to be truthful if you lost the opportunity to provide if she'll still be there ask your partner if you being able to make things convenient and the opportunity dealing with you didn't present itself in a good manner if she would still be there and tell her to be honest with you and you know a lot of women to say oh i don't deal with nobody for no money it ain't it ain't about that like come on now let's stop and the funny thing about it is you're always paying for who you're dealing with and the only thing This is the only thing, Chad, I want you to do me a small favor. 100 million nobody's getting all 100 million of that you've got to pay you got to pay federal income tax i don't give a damn what state you live in you've got to pay federal income tax and you have something called a jock tax if you're a professional athlete and you go to certain states you got to pay for the money that you earn there if you go to certain states and you work you have to pay money that you earn in that state yeah i think everybody is nobody is under the assumption anymore that when they see a hundred million somebody actually got 100 million. But to get 60 to get basically, if you like I said, you live in a tax free state and you only got to pay 30 30, let's just say on the high end, you're paying 37%

federal income tax. That means of a million dollars, you get 637,000, you get 630,000. So if you bring home, if you got 60 million liquid, theoretically, Ocho, you put, you put that in a thing, a fund, you put that in a fund, you're going to get 5 to 8%. There'll be some years you get 10, 12%. Yeah. So even if you're just getting 5% on $60 million, that's $3 million a year. Man, if you can't live off $3 million a year, you got issues.

Yeah, we're in trouble. I'm not going to say like a Jay-Z or somebody they got full-time security and they got all these shelves and they got all these people. Obviously, it requires more than that. But I'm saying for the average person. Yeah. Like myself, Joe, you.

Yeah. Man, if you can't live on three million. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Listen, I'm not average. I'm extraordinary. Now, I'm saying, I'm chief as hell. Hell, no, I'm just bullish, I'm just bullish. But I'm saying people like us because the average person

is not going to be in a situation to make that kind of money. Right. So I'm not talking about, I'm talking about, look, if you got, if you make, if you make a million dollars a year, unless you got extraordinary expenses, that should, you should be good. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Get you a nice little, get your nice little house payment,

say, you know, five, somewhere between five and $7,500 a month. Yeah. Get you a nice car. You and your wife get a nice car. Mm-hmm. one you got one kid because probably if you make that kind of money oh Joe it's hard you're gonna probably be sending your kids to private school it just is what it is there are very few people that make a million dollars a year and the kids go to

public school I've just be I'm just being honest with you now I know everybody saying I send my kid it's easy for you to say that when you're not in that situation but most people that make that kind of money their kids go to private school yeah and what we were trying to do we didn't say with oh we were just trying to say how people go belly up Yeah because when you have kids multiple kids and you live in certain states and you pay five 10 15 20 thousand dollars per child Oh got three kids if you get if you paying that kind of money for the kids guess what else you pay it for Yeah private school private schools cost you somewhere between 10 and 30 thousand a year so now compound that yeah

So you win a hundred thousand a year. Oh a hundred thousand yeah. No you pay a hundred thousand yeah. So if you pay a hundred thousand yeah so if you pay a hundred thousand yeah so if you pay a twenty 20, that's 60,000 a month times 18 years. A plus another, plus let's just say, oh children, you got three kids and they go to private school and that's another 20,000. So that's another 60,000 a year times 18. Well, they're not gonna stay the same because private schools go up every year.

So it might start out at 20 and by the time they get to be seniors, that's probably be 30, 35. So we're just trying to explain to people how it happens. Is that, that's why they say, hey, get you one, If I could do it over again, I'd have all my kids from one. I'd be married, save myself a lot of money, a lot of attorneys fees also. Hey, hey, see, see, that's why I'm thankful.

Hey, Joe, sometimes they got to get up. See, that's what I'm going to do. Just this conversation in general. I'm, I'm going to get on my knees after the show. And I'm, I'm going to thank God. I'm going to thank God. I'm just, I just ran off from goddamn numbers, right? And that's just, and you think, Joe, I got eight, Joe.

I got eight. Joe, and I, listen, hey, hold on. Hey, hold on. Listen to me. This, let me tell you while I'm, Joe, let me tell where I'm grateful. though Joe. I just ran off them numbers, right? It's a different time now,

You're talking about, you're talking about 15, 18, 20 years, and go. So you know what the cost is right now. Yeah. So obviously the cost of living is going up. So is the cost of raising the child is going. It's high. Hey, Joe, a some of them numbers aren't was ripping off to, you know, them people, them type of people, you know, having kids by certain people, it ain't really about the child in the first place. What does it be? That's for them. Come on, now. Come on now. Yeah. Can you imagine having to pay for a child

50,000 a month? Who? A hundred thousand a month. month yeah two years old what the hell what we doing uh-huh boy the fact that they that they granted to some people oh yeah absolutely because it's based based based on it's based for me it's mind-boggling I'm like man how how somebody need 30 40 50 K a month for a child bro it's I know a guy that was paying in the early 2000 was playing 14,000 a month I know yeah I know a few cats who paying more $14,000 a month. I know dude playing $17,000 a month,

22,000 a month. I'm like, man. That's $168,000 a year. It's where you file at, too, though. You know where they have them kids at. Now, there are some states that the map is capped. You could only get X amount. You might only get $3,500.

You only get $5,000. And then some states, they base it on how much the father makes. Yeah. Yeah, but I'm saying. And they make you responsible for the private tuition because they say if the child, the child should be afforded a life that if the child was with you,

that the child wouldn't enjoy without you. Absolutely. Now, I ain't telling what somebody told me. I'm telling you, now, see, y'all can talk about a whole lot don't know what you're talking about? Yeah. Bull Jive. Yeah.

I'm with you when you're right. Hey, hey, boy, that's a. I'm glad, boy, those I had kids from, boy, they wouldn't like that, man. Yeah. Yeah, Joe, I'm Joe, I'm getting on my knee. I just, it makes me cringe hearing the numbers that I'm rolling off in the, uh-uh.

And then also I'm present, Joe. Hey, I'm acting, Joe. And that's my thing, OK, Ocho. It was like, these numbers, I'm telling y'all, I'd have heard about cats paying. And man, they almost got custody of the kids, and they still paying this amount. Absolutely.

Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson's father was in a fist fight with his other son in the parking lot after today's loss in Dublin, Ireland.

Ocho, take a look at this. Who's fighting? The quarterback's dad and his brother. So the quarterback for K State, that's his dad and his brother. So that's his son. that's fighting the dead. What in the world going on?

What they... Like alcohol in the system? Hey, I would love the backstory backstory on this, too. I would love it. Ain't no backstory. Who won the game? K-State lost. Okay. Okay.

Look, to be in a situation, that you fight your dad, you got no respect for your dad. I can see if I can see if it's a family situation where the mom is involved and he's shoved. I get all that, Ocho.

But in a situation like this at a ball game and it's out in public. And, you know, you got to think about other dynamics too and other elements that can call stuff like this, drinking, alcohol, being in the game,

having fun. Again, emotions are high. You lose the game. Some things might be saying. and exchange and stuff like that happened. Now, when we talk about family incidents and we talk about fights and stuff like this, you know, stuff like this happens,

especially in our culture in general, you know. And that's what's so sad, Ocho. But to see it happen and be in displayed in public like that, it's very, it's very unfortunate, very, very, very, very. Let me tell you something. Let me tell you how alcohol worked. You won't do anything intoxicated.

You hadn't at least thought about sober. because your mind won't allow you to go there. You see people, hey, they stole an 18 wheeler or they stole a bulldozer or they did something reckless but you thought about that while you were sober. Alcohol broke down the inhibitions and gave you the courage. That's what they call it liquid courage

to go do what you did. I don't care how drug I got. I ain't fin to fight my brother. I ain't fin to fight my parents. And it's so funny. You see videos like this all the time, Monk. And it's embarrassing. Fight each other, whether it be sisters,

whether it be, hey, and I don't mean to bring up stories. I don't mean to bring up stories, but obviously, you know the story of my mom, you know, Ms. Hurricane Paula. And I remember getting a phone call for my little brother one time. Man, you need to come home, man. What do you mean? Come home. I can't come home.

Where is football season? I'm, you know, I'm locked in. Well, mommy them jumped on grandma. They're out there in the grass, they're out there in the grass and they're talking. I'm like, man, go out there and stop it. What is you calling me for? I'm all the way in Cincinnati. There's nothing I can do.

I'll take a phone more once I get out of, you know, I'm like, come on, Chaunce. So, I mean, that's why I kind of understand it. I get it because I've been in the situation before, wasn't present for it. But after hearing my grandma's side of the story, hearing my mama's side of the story, hearing my mama's side of the story. I'm like, come on, y'all. Now, you need to stop drinking. Grandma, you need to stop talking to her like that.

But it happens. It happens. You know, they're talking about, man, you won't have good luck hitting on old people. You're right. You won't have good luck. If I'm an old person, you won't have no good. You're absolutely right.

You're absolutely right. Put them hands on them on. I have a relationship with my kids that I've explained to them our dynamic won't ever change no matter how wealthy you become no matter how poor I become I'm your father you'll always be my child so we're going to keep this dynamic the way it is I might be in a situation where I can't do for myself and you'll have now all of a sudden you'll have to be the parent in the but I'm still the parent I've explained that to my kids. My kids understand that. And when things got to a point where, you know,

hey, let's just, hey, let's just take some time. Hey, we'll reconvene in a couple of days. We'll reconvene in a week. I don't need you to say something you regret. I don't want to say something I regret. Ain't nobody going to put their hands on nobody because everybody grown here. Even when my kids weren't going to, they got to a certain age. I was like, look, y'all know right from wrong i'm not fin the discipline you like by by putting by you know having my hands on you franking you and doing all that kind of stuff i ain't physically i ain't punch him up he'll slap him or anything like that but i say you're to the age now i feel i can talk to you you understand uh tim fitzgero uh go at power cats has confirmed

there was a post game confrontation at avivia stadium involving mark johnson father of kansas State quarterback, Avery Johnson, and another man believed to be Mr. Johnson's eldest son. According to witnesses, the conflict turned physical, according to one source. Nor arrests were made stemming from the incident. There's reportedly a video of the disagreement, and at least one eyewitness is tied to Kansas State Athletics. Kansas State lost Iowa State 24-21 in the college football classic. Avery Johnson completed 21 of 30 passes, 273, two touchdowns. He also ran for a touchdown.

But that was a good game, right? Did you get a chance? Yeah, he had to get. That was a good game. Yeah, it was. But the thing is, if you can't handle your alcohol, don't drink. This is, this is, this is, this is awful look. This is, the, the starting quarterback of a, of a D1 school,

his dad and his brother are rolling, a fighting, is raining. They're in. I hate people that act slow. Stop with the BS like this is normal in our community. So now we sit here acting like this don't happen. I'll tell you about. I'll tell you. No, no, we're not saying that it doesn't happen,

but you have to also understand just because it happens doesn't make it right. No, someone's saying stop acting like it's not normal. I mean, what, what, Rob? It ain't. What rock are we living under? When we see it every single day. Every single day, we see families, families.

It's us all the time. How many more examples we need? I'm talking like it's not normal. It ain't normal. I've been seeing it all my life. I hate when people say dumb shit. Not you. I'm not talking about you.

I'm just talking about it in the chat. Like, what are you talking about? God damn. it's just it's just tough to see because we got we got enough without us fighting ourselves we got enough to fight a big battle a bigger battle we got enough we got enough issues that don't involve us i've been i've been stopped arguing with people of my complexion and they act like they live under a rock man I'll let y'all have it.

Y'all, you know, this is how y'all feel. Y'all say, okay, cool, I'm good. I move on. Bowling shared something that he witnessed on the plane ride of a trip home from Cleveland after week 14.

Bowling addressed the situation during his daily radio show and apologized for relaying the story and that has now understands he should have been considered off the record. Yes. Everything that you, if they're not speaking directly to you, it's off the record. Yeah.

You don't get to go. You don't get to go on the team playing. Do you know how many reporters have seen things on a team playing? Well, who's late? Or who's, maybe there's been a fight. Maybe there've been some, some, some, some things that shouldn't have been going on. Because back there, we used to have them, them little portable DVDs.

And I think if, I think of knowing the access that I do have and the love that they do show in that stadium where I can go from top to bottom and I can go anywhere I want. If I did it all the goddamn time, they'd be like, all right, now. Yeah, you're abusing. Come on now. Let me take that back on Joe. I used to be able to do that.

I ain't got that. I don't have that access anymore now. Oh, no? I don't know. I don't go back. They invite me back for alumni things and the, you know, the Super Bowl team and stuff like that when guys get to go into the ring of honor. I haven't been back.

I'll have a great relationship. I met the Walton's. I met the Penners. I met all of them. They were great to me. Yes. They had a great conversation. But I don't know them like I knew Mr. Bowling.

I would like to get to know them. You know, maybe I take some time and I go back and, you know, and sit down and have a conversation with them. Right. But I'm like you, Ocho. I'm never going to wear out my welcome. Even though I had the access that I had,

I didn't go back and take advantage of it. You know, I would go back when they invited me. But when it came time for the Super Bowl, you damn best believe, hey. Yeah, you were there? Yeah, so, hey, listen, hey, you know I'm excited. You know I'm excited. So obviously, most of the time, I was doing one a year.

Since I retired, one game a year. I always made it, made it out to one game a year. This will be the first year since I retired and what was that, I mean, since they left there. Since I left there. Yeah, so you left in a second game. Right. I'm going to a second game. Obviously, I'm not counting the Ravens game.

I'm not counting the Ravens game, you know, Thursday night on Thanksgiving. Right. But this Sunday, I'm going to. I'm going back. I'm going back for the Ravens game. And, I mean, it's just, just what, what, the warmth and the welcome and the grace that they've shown me when I am no longer any value to you. I'm no longer any value to you.

And they still treat me that, whether it be the fans, whether it be ownership, Zach Taylor, whether it be the players, with open arms. It's like I'm, and the fact that they still treat you like that when you're no longer of any value. I'm not on the payroll. Right. I'm not on the payroll. I don't get a check in there.

I think the fans appreciate that. Fans, fans know the guys that really cared, that played their ass off that gave everything they possibly had, left nothing on the field. And when they left, they're like, you know what? We got everything shining a sharp head. We ain't never had to worry about 84 because we know 8-4 was going to give it to us.

Yes, sir. It became difficult, no, because I worked at CBS for a decade. So how am I going to get, I'm in New York. How am I going to get back? I went back when they put me into the Ring of Fame in 2009. I went back again in 2011 when they put me, I received my ring for the Hall of Fame. But it was hard for me to get back because I'm working.

I can't, hey, you know what? You know, the Broncos really wanted me to come back. Now, I can't miss work like that. And then I started working at Fox undisputed for seven years. And it was hard. And I went back. I think I went back once. But it's really hard, Ojo, to go back.

when I got to watch all these games and I'm at one game. Even though they got it on, you know, Mr. B like, you know, Sharpeer, what game you want to watch? And I was like, don't worry about it, Mr. B. So it's really hard. It's hard for me to talk about something, Ocho, if I don't see it.

I need to see it. So I can tell you the intricacies of what actually happened, the design of the play, to make up the defense, X, Y, and Z. So that's really the main reason. I don't really attend events when other events are going on

because I need to be able to tell you what actually happened. And speaking of being able to tell you what actually is going to happen, I'm going to tell you, your Ravens going to lose again. Ah, there you go. I'm just saying, every game I'm in attendance too, you do understand.

I went to the Thursday night game. Joe Burroughs' first game back. You see what happened. You see what happened, right? And this, I got another. You got your, Ravens, I got your boy. You know, you Ravens fan. I got Butter.

I'm not sure if you've seen some of the clips that Butter makes some time. I have, I haven't seen. Listen, Butter stayed away in Seattle. Unk, I didn't got Butter a ticket, right? Yeah. I didn't got Butter ticket. I'm talking about he, he's a huge Ravens fan. He fly in tomorrow.

Okay. He flying, yeah, he's flying to Cincinnati tomorrow. I'm going to meet him out there Friday evening, and I'm allow him to see greatness in person. Okay. I want him to see greatness in person. I want him to be able to, I want him to be, because he, He streams and increased content.

I want this content to be authentic and organic. Yeah. I want him right there. I want him right there front and center, you know, watching the Ravens lose, you know, and I want him to cry. I want him to cry. So we can see, I don't, you know, you know, one thing about it, it's very hard for me to talk about people.

It's very difficult for me. I can be critical. Yeah. I can critique players, but I wanted to see 77 person. I want him to see. 77 in person and to see why Lamar is going to be frustrated, why he's going to get sacked, why he's going to be running

for his life, and the Bengals are coming away with another win and one step closer to winning the AFC North that hasn't gone in our favor all season long. Yeah. But for this gentleman, Ocho, I don't know. He's got to be young because no veteran reporter would never do something like this. You think he's young?

He's got to be young. I mean, I, I, I don't know. I'm not saying he, I'm not maybe an age-wise, but it'd be interesting to know how long he's been in this capacity, doing this job. That's understood. She was great. She would always come to me. I was like, Lynn, do you not have, she's like, Michelle, are you going to give it to me straight? I know, but somebody else might give it to you straight, too. You don't want to get it from them. but she was she was always great and we were always respectful

and I made sure guys were respectful of her especially women Sage Steele her first job was with the rape you know as a reporter was with the rape right okay and all that you know stuff that you know she's obviously she's attractive no boy we're not going to do that
