Joe Ocho, the NBA is investigating a four-year $64 million deal between Gary Trent, Jr. and the Bucks for a possible salary cap circumvention. Trent is set to receive a significant pay raise in a multi-year contract despite having some of the lowest production of his career.

He averaged eight points a game, shot 39 percent during the 25-26 season. his lowest average since his rookie year when he played 15 games of the rookie in Portland. The NBA is looking into the contract as the lead collective bargain agreement contained the clause against prior agreements. Joe, first, Kauai, now this. What's going on?

Even more fishy is paying him when they already had a crowded backcourt, Ryan Rawlings, Tala Hero, Kevin Porter Jr., and they drafted Braden Burries with the 10th pick. So what's really going on, Joe? I ain't going to lie. It is a little skeptical.

I can old show. but hell i just seen kirk cousin hell did they investigate him did they investigate kirk cousin of all that money he'd be getting damn hey listen it's very it's very unfortunate for the young man i think he's still gonna get his money but yeah man i think coming off his work season since his rookie year unkocho i don't know what the wimps he had fell out completely out of rotation so what do you investigate no yeah i that's the problem i don't It seems to me because remember, when he left Toronto and came there, they only had $2.3 million. He took that.

Yeah. So they're saying you had what they're surmising based on this contract when you fell out of the rotation. You had your worst production since your rookie year, which is $18, 19. And you signed four years, $64, $16 million a year. And you had your worst production. And you fell out of the rotation. Yeah, but hold on. When they investigate,

exactly who are they investigating? Are they investigating the team or they investigating the player? The team. No, they're investigating the team. And if they find some funny business what going on, they're going to nullify the deal.

They're going to avoid the contract. The same thing they deal with Joe Smith. Joe remember what they did to Joe Smith? Yeah. They had a handshake deal. Yeah. That Joe Smith took the minimum. He had a handshake deal

that he was going to sign this big contract. Somebody, if I'm not, mistaken, got fired in Minnesota, and he went and told David Stern what they had done. Yeah. David Sterr said, I got something for y'all ass. I got something for your funky ass. I'm going to take three first round picks. The next three years I'm taking your first

round pick. I'm going to avoid the contract and I'm going to put this fine on your ass. Hey, it ruined them. Yeah, it did. It did. They heard them for a few years. Hey, but I got a question. Who's the, they got rid of Doc Rivers, or he resigned, he retired. Who's coaching

You know, I think sports is always great when you have rivals. You know what I mean? And with these two dudes. Yes. coming in the same draft class, one and two, both have elite talent, and they put it on display for us in the summer league,

and they showed us to potentially that they can be superstars in the NBA. I'm looking forward to it, man. I enjoy the rival because Peterson takes me as a guy, he's probably going to use this his whole career for not going number one. Being number two. Yeah, being number two,

that's probably going to push him throughout his whole career, Uncle Ocho, and the same way, Jay DeBancor, I think he wants to show that he's the best player in the game, bro, the best young, one of the best young guns, especially the best young cat in this draft. So I think it's a great rivalry. Both of them have huge amount of talent. I enjoy watching both of them play, bro.

I look forward to the competition level being at an all-time high. If we got LeBron getting ready to go out the game in the next year too, man, we need to know that the game is in great hands, bro. And with this draft class, Uncle Ocho, like I've been telling y'all, man, It's some young Thundercats, some young superstars coming into the NBA, and these guys have not disappointed in Summer League. I mean, they haven't disappointed in Summer League. If you look at it, Joe. I'm not saying they haven't disappointed in Summer League.

As far as those, you know, the passing of the torch, I think it's going to be some of those other young guns. You know, your Shades, your, your mellow ball, Anthony Andrews, Jason Tatum, Jalen Brown. It's going to be them that's going to take over from there. Those young boys are going to be something. watch and the one thing that makes the NBA great is you need stories. You need stories. So the story of them

becoming that that next dynamic duo that are battling and become it would be dope for the game. It is summer league too, Joe. Do you still think they will be able to perform at a high level once

everybody's back in that organized structure environment with the best players? Yeah, I think a lot, especially like the top seven, eight guys, Ocho, top ten guys. You know, they're going to be pretty much featured in any offense or any team

that they play for. You know what I mean? Because you can't, you ain't drafting guys like AJ at one and just because he's playing with Trey and Anthony Davis that you ain't going to have a package in that that's going to feature him. You know what I mean? Like, they're going to get their opportunities. They're going to get their chances. Some

I like because they're going into you know, organizations or teams with, with, with veteran guys versus when you look at a guy like Caleb I like the Powell pickup that they got from Norman Powell from Miami the Bulls got but Caleb Wilson that's in that's in Chicago bro his upside I think he's gonna have the best opportunity because he's gonna really I think he's

gonna play the right way not only is he dynamic and have a lot of talent but I think he's more than just a power for it he's more of a tweener bro like a, he can play the five, he can play the three, hell. He can probably even play the two. I see him bring the ball up playing a one run and picking rolls. I just think he's so versatile that he's going to get an opportunity here.

He might be rookie at a year. Look, stories is, that's what makes sports go around? I need to, what's the story behind it? Yeah. I mean, we got the World Cup coming. What's the story? It's missing.

Probably in his last international stage, an opportunity for the World Cup to go back to back. only a handful, only two, what, two guys? You drafted guys like close proximity to where you actually played because it wasn't a big thing like it is now. So you wanted somebody familiar with that area. So that's why you got Oscar Robinson getting drafted to the Royals. Yeah. Because what?

He went to Cincinnati. It's a no-brainer. Yeah. So you get guys, that's how we're going to do it. But yeah, that's what you could do. You could draft a guy, and if he went back to school, I still own his rights. Damn. They don't let you do that.

They'll let you do that no. They'll let you do that no more. Because you know how to do. Because it used to be, uh, uh, Indian Reserve. Right. Yeah. And they started to let you do that, Ocho. when I got into the league,

you could injure reserve and then you could come off. But you know, some of those teams, they were stashed in players. So then they say, you know what? We see what y'all doing. You put him on injured reserve,

he's going to stay his ass with the whole year. You see, recently now you go on injured reserve, you can come back off. Yeah. And you know, so they're going to get the system, Joe. They just got to. They got to find a way to cheat, man. I'm telling you.

I was like, Jalen Brown came from shooting 22 shots a game. Tyrese maxi shot 22 shots a game. Then you got Embed, who didn't play a lot. But when he played, he was the focal point.

And then you bring it in Braun. I'm like, I don't know if it's just enough. I don't know how they're going to use Jalen Brown. I don't know how they're going to use Tyrese Maxie. It's just too many. Hey, man, I told Arkansas, I said, listen, soon as J.B. got traded, I'm brun. I'm on the phone with M.B. Because my first thing is, like, Big fella, you're going to be healthy.

Can you get me at least 55 games? Yeah. You know what I mean? Because at the end of the day, if M.B. They ain't healthy. They don't look like no championship team. You know what I mean? At all.

But the question, oh, go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. I'm saying, like, with all that firepower, does it give him? ammunition to be able to kind of chill until like the back end of the of the season to be able to have a play out push because he actually

he knocked what he knocked Boston out by itself for real for real yeah no you know you can't you can't stop in B bro real talk so yeah when healthy Brown play his role he's going to facilitate he's going to make you know Maxie Edgecombe Brown

them guys are going to score I don't think Brian going to come in there he ain't trying to come in there average no 25. He'll probably settle for about 18 or 20 a night with about eight or nine assists. But I think it's more of the control that he'll be able to have with this young running and gunning team. It's like putting him back there as a quarterback, bro. Like you, Maxie, he's going to be out there like a baby AI. You can do like kind of how New York done with, with Cat and Brunson. They took the ball out of Brunson hand, played through Ken. He just, Brunson just kind of came off picks, came off screens and was a score. I can see Maxie

in there. I can. I can see edge come trying to be a lockdown defender. How mad? How mad would you be if you edge come, though? You just came off an average and damn there's 17. Now they're telling you you three and D. I don't, hey, listen, listen, but hold up, though. But hold on a, hold on those, smooth and tea.

I ain't necessarily, if I'm, if I'm edgecom, I ain't necessarily mad. You know what I mean? At worst case, we're going to have him for two years. Now, this is a learning, this is a learning two lists that I can go. He can take me on this wing. I can learn from all these great players. that I'm surrounded by because hell,

I still got another 13, 14, 15 years to play in the league. It ain't like he ain't going to get his money when it's time for him. He's going to get his money. I just think they have a window and everybody's talking about LeBron Ring chasing. I think he's found an opportunity

to where he can continue his legacy. You think back, I thought he was going to go back to Miami fellas. I ain't going to lie, but then once I started thinking about it, hell, Brian trying to make history, bro. He want to be the one player to win a championship for four different franchises.

nobody has done that. Hell, probably nobody will ever do it. You know what I mean? Considering the fact that every night, bro, every point he's score, it goes down in the books, in history books, because he's the leading score. So he's going to put this thing so far

to reach. It probably won't even be in our lifetime, fellas, for somebody catch him. I'm just going to keep it real. Nah, it's over. I don't think nobody ever catch him. They had to make, like, somebody had to hit 600 threes in a season

or something crazy. Like, you know how to be doing something. Like, we didn't, never seen that we ever thought what happened. But I'm just, if I'm VJ, because I played on y'all team, and when I came and I wouldn't get no shots, no touches, because I was hot. So if I'm him, my average 16 as a rookie, I'm looking to be like a 22-point score as a second-year player.

Like, I'm looking to, like, move up. And now Brian and J.B. come. That be my shots go to dang near half. I'm going to eight shots again. I'm hot, bro. And you got Anthony Simons on the bench. And you got, you bring. You bring KCP in for another 3-and-D guy.

So if I'm not playing well, I know them two dudes. They're seasoned veterans. They're ready to lock in. They're trying to want to chip. I'm hot if I'm him. I ain't going to lie. Oh, yeah. You're going to throw as a, but what?

How hard do you think LeBron going to play during a regular season with that salary base? I, I think he'll, I think he's going to compete because, like I said, man, his legacy is still, it's still going to be great regardless of the situation. I think he wants to add to it. You know what I mean? Everybody's talking about how he's chasing Bronn, this, that, and third. I don't think it's that. I think he has another way he's going to put his stamp on the game.

I mean, he's already a first ballot legend, arguably the best player to ever play. Check this out. It's one assistant coach has had some doubts about how LeBron and Joel NB will fit together on the Sixers. He said, it's scary. It can be unstoppable or it can be hard to watch. the unnamed coach told Mark Medina, I think that's his name. He said they're both slow and old.

And when you get tired of, when you get tired and drain the clock and you're methodical and isolating, you know, every time down court and everybody's just standing around and watching, he said you're going to end up falling down behind because they're so old. I don't agree with that because they have some youth

So I ain't worried about them scoring, but to win a championship, you got to have Bronan and the B playing at a high level. You do. You do. You do. And you look at, you look at J.B. he's going to be looking to put his stamp on the game.

He's going to be looking to prove guys wrong because of how the Celtics got rid of him. So I think when you got guys who come into the season and determined to make a case and show people up, like this veteran team that they have, I think the sky's the limit, bro. You can't rule out of Philly, bro. They're going to be there.

I ain't going to lie to you. The way they got up and down the floor, the way they played together, the way it looked like they were having fun, that's the only problem that I have with Braun going to Philly because everything revolves around Joel and B. Because think about it.

If he's not playing, hell, that's going to hurt you. But if he ain't healthy and he's laboring up and down the court, I mean, what good is it going to be? Can you really depend on him in an 82 game season? And then, hell, we know how everything revs up in the postseason. Like, can you really count on him to be healthy and be there for this six of team?

Tell me what you, give me your thoughts, bro. Do y'all think it be really going to, is he going to be that factor that they need him to be to be able to compete for a title? You got it, smooth. I mean, if he's healthy. But I don't like, I think that they're building this team to kind of like, have pieces missing during the regular season. So I think this is a playoff-built team. I don't think that they're going to do a lot of wear and tear with Joelle and B.

Whatever they know about his knees, they know it. So I think they're going to take more precaution. I think when he rests and plays, he's a better player. And so I'm trying to figure out, like, do you really play him a lot in the regular season? You mean make him play limited minutes? Like limited minutes, sometimes miss games. You know what I'm saying?

Maybe play half the season. Dang. What, what you thinking, T? Because I'm just thinking about the rhythm, though. Like, yeah, I'm with you on that too, though. I'm with you on that too. And like, like Joe said, it takes. Like you said, you got to throw the ball to them.

Like, you got to post them. You have to post them. You got to have them at the top of the key with the ball. So I think those other guys can move the ball well, but LeBron wants the ball in his hands too. So how does that work? Like he wants to be able to dictate the offense and facilitate too well.

So how does that work as far as like? And I'm not saying, like you said, I don't think LeBron is tripping about scoring. because it's a lot of young guys on the team. He's working out with Tyree's Maxey right now. They've been in the gym together. Yeah. I don't think he's necessarily concerned with that type of burden on his hands,

but I definitely think he does want to play kind of like a magic Johnson role with this team. So you're saying, excuse me, Brown want to play more of a Magic Johnson role, and he don't want to have to toll the weight of that trying to score 20. 25, 24 night. You know, he just want to be able to magic that thing, get him 10, 12 assists, 18 points. Yeah, what you think?

Maybe he wants to well and beat, you know, to get up and down a little more too with this team. Yeah, I keep thinking, like, we keep forgetting about, like, now we're not forgetting about him, but Jalen Brown, he coming from almost averaging, what, 28, 29 points a game? Like, one of the best players in the league last year. Yeah, we got to factor in.

He's still got to be Jalen Brown, Like he can't be taking a backseat to nobody Tyrese. He had his best when he's scoring. So I'm trying to figure out We know Joelle and B going to miss Tom Who's the backup center? They lost drumming.

They got Bona. Bona, that hard playing high-energy cap. Yeah, but like, yeah, y'all living with y'all rolling? I mean, look, when you got J.B., him and Maxi probably top five in the NBA and fast break points. For sure.

J.B. ain't gonna average no damn 28. Maxi ain't gonna average no 28. I know what you said about Edgecombe. If you averaging 16, 17, you want to build on that, especially as a young player. Maybe you stay there, but take your efficiency up. Yeah. I just don't think Brown going to be a problem.

My only concern, I'm telling you all, my only was MB, bro. I just want to know where his mindset is, what type of shape he's going to come into. And with J.B. and Brian really taking care of themselves so much, like, on as far as a health-wise and planning games, I hope Joe L. M.B. follows suit. I hope he rubs off on him to where he gets back to being that dominant center. He ain't got an average no damn 25, 30. but you want him to be efficient and you want him to be assertive

the field, I was second, well, I was number one in the NBA and three-point percentages that year, and Quinn Richardson led the NBA in three-point makes. So it's like, like, you got to really lock in. I'm like, damn, we got a pass first point guard and Steve Nash, who probably could have averaged it if you just want to beat 100. He could have averaged 22, 24 game. That man settled for 16 a night and 13 assists. You see what I'm saying?

Like, if you get you a situation like that to where you get a guy who really comes in and make everybody around them better, and I think that's what LeBron does. When you get that type of old school coach, you see how much of a stain and put on your brain, bro, like, because you never forget that because coming up, like even though you got to the pros guys, I was talking to you like that. But when I got to college, bro, I ain't really never heard a coach talk to talk to us the way Coach Richardson used to talk to us.

You know what I mean? So when I got to the pros, it didn't bother me what coaches got on me. You know what I'm saying? It didn't bother me if, you know, I was a rookie. said, oh, we're going to sit you for a few games, let some of these other rookies play. And I had them been through the wars already, bro.

I hadn't been through it already. Hey, hey, hey, one thing about it, I was never going to let it waver my love and passion for the game. Okay, Ocho, when I was a rookie, bro, when I was a rookie, it was a moment right before I got traded. I went like 10, 15 straight games, DMPs, not even touching the floor. because I had two. other rookies with me. Keesrick Brown, Joe Forte. They both were for first round. They had three first round preeks, so it lets you know how good the Celtics were the year before. If we had a position coach, man, to do, he told the guy, he was supposed to like, he told him, don't go underneath because this guy's mobile

He did that twice. He's supposed to be on field goal block. Guess what? A P-A-T block. Guess what? He ain't out there. We got 10 men. Dial-up, good.

Next morning, he said, you know what? He said, I don't really know what's going to happen. But in the coaches meeting this morning, I recommend it that we cut you. Damn. Told him just like that. He said, I don't know what's going to happen.

But in the coaches meeting, I recommend it that we cut you. Oh, man. Hey, back then, because they would say things now that you can't say. You can't say what, because you know,

I mean, you might have got somebody at the college, but they would say, hey, who, like, Lord, hey, you got to be more PC now.
