How in the world is it Doc Holliday's business?
In episode 799 of the Meat Eater podcast, host Stephen Rinella talked with author and
Old West historian Mark Lee Gardner.
Whenever there was a posse formed, Doc Holliday was always there to help out.
So he's like, I'm sick, I'm half dead.
I'd love to throw in.
So he just gets excited when there's a posse.
It's like your buddy drew a tag, you know.

Yep, we got a very special guest joining us. He had the game-winning interception of Jailerzo
Monday Night Football, Tony Jefferson in year 11. He had four interception,
matching his career total
across the previous 10th season.
Hey, I mean,
is it a different type of glove?
I mean, you get LASIC surgery,
you wear glasses,
how do you have as many interceptions
in one season
with four games,
with four games to play
that you had the previous 10th season
when you played 170 games?
It's that experience, man.
Okay, okay.
Put myself.
the right position, you know, game planted, more mature, mentally as a football player.
And, you know, when you see it, when you've seen it all, man, like, you like, you recognize
stuff like a lot quicker.
So I think I think that's really what it's been, bro, to be honest with you.
Hey, when I think about a team, you know, looking at you guys defensively, if I'm not
mistaken you guys are ranked maybe i think maybe fourth statistically and what what do you what do you
credit you know for you guys success on defense in the way you guys are playing this season
it starts from the top i think it starts from coaching uh i think yes uh the game plan every week
starting from jess and then trickling down to our secondary coaches uh coach clink and
uh coach fuller really they just invest really you could tell they they put their all in
to the game plan and make it simple for us.
You know, you know, each week is different.
It's always a different challenge each week.
And I think they give us the right tools that fit us.
And, you know, they also give us the freedom to allow us to make the cause
that we feel like as best as players out there that fits us too.
So just as being out there comfortable, bro.
Right, that's dope.
That's dope.
Let me ask you, hold on.
In May of 2023, you,
You're like, okay, I'm going to retire, and I'm going to go into the scouting department with the Ravens.
Then you unretire.
What went into the decision?
Like, you're like, you know what?
I think it's time for me to transition and do something else.
Were your body beat up or you just felt like I'm just tired of doing this, getting up, putting my body through this, training every day.
And then you unretire.
What went into those two decisions to make you retire and then unretiretire?
Well, the decisions are.
I had Liz Frank, my, and I was playing in New York.
Yeah, and I didn't know if anybody's, that is one of the most painful injuries to have.
I didn't get the surgery.
I played.
I missed nine games, and I played through it.
And I was like, there's no way I can go into next season and, like, feel like the player that I felt like I could be.
So I had already had conversations with Eric DeCosa, the gym, with the Ravens.
We talked about it, even as a player, about me, you know, wanting to get into scouting
and get into the front office post football.
So I already had that lined up, and I felt like it was a good and easy transition for me
to be able to do that.
And, you know, so I went into that.
And as you know, as a scout, you're grinding a lot of film.
All you doing is watching.
Ooh, that's all you do.
All day.
And the more I was watching film.
film, the grinding film, I'm like, okay, I'm better.
I know I'm better than this dude.
You watch a film with guys, you know you better than.
Like, hold on.
He should be doing this.
I should be doing what he doing.
Exactly.
And then me still just being around the game, like, and a bunch of my former teammates
were on the team.
So like, I'm still around then.
Right.
Yet I'm working in the front office.
So it was like, man, I'm still around it.
Like, we went to the AFC championship that year against the Chiefs,
and that day, my juices were still going, and they were flowing.
You know, I would be going on the field pregame, and I'm, like, sizing up the other team.
Like, I still had that in me.
So, you know, I went to the senior bowl as a scout, and I was there,
and I came back home, and I was like, I hit up the gym with the race.
I'm like, yeah, I'm done.
I'm done.
I went home and started training.
Rest is history.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's dope.
Let me ask you this, Tony, and you don't have to, like, jump on it.
But I'm like, when you guys look at the Eagles offense, obviously there are some things that you saw that you could take advantage of.
When you looked at this offense, what is it that you felt most comfortable?
What were you trying to do?
Because other than that big, long run that Sequin had, you guys did a pretty good job of bottling him up.
What was your game plan?
Was it like, okay, we got to make Jalen throw from the pocket.
We want to push him one way or another.
Is there anything in particular that you can divulge
that you felt that you guys, okay, we got a beat on him.
We think we know what he's going to do
and let's force him to play towards him.
Yeah, I think honestly, I just felt like,
even like I said before, from a standpoint of game planning,
I felt like we felt comfortable with the matchups that we had
that they were a matchup-driven offense.
Obviously, they want to get the run game going with Seyuan.
Obviously, he deserves our respect, but we felt like we were ready for that.
And then when we felt like when we were able to get the run stopped, we were ready for
Jamlin to throw the ball.
We liked our matchups.
I mean, we had a few pitch, few interceptions.
We had around, like, we was just confident out there.
And, like, we always say, like, we're the wrong team you want to play on prime time.
Like, we're ready to.
Like, check the record.
Yeah.
You know, T, I also have another question for me, watching at home, I tell Uncle all the time
and people in the chat that are watching, I'm sure those who have been around the game
for a very long time, is it me?
And I don't mean, I'm not trying to bash the Eagles, because I like the Eagles, you know,
especially offensively and what they do on defense.
But is it me or is the offense very predictable based on what they're doing, based on alignments,
based on down and distance?
Isn't it for you?
Doesn't it make your job a little bit easier based on what you see on film week to week
in the game that you watched
that they played previously
they show the same exact thing
where it's almost
well, God damn, I just watched this
two days ago
and here, come here, come again.
That same short motion
coming in, coming in, coming in
to go out or going out
and come in.
I agree with what you're saying.
I think they have very strong tendencies.
Oh, you mean to tell me they're going to throw
AJ that go ball
on here on the left side.
Would he two yards?
Oh, man, I'm sorry.
Go ahead.
You go.
I will say, be politically correct.
You know, they are very strong, have very strong tendencies.
And that's something like I said, like I feel like we do a great job with a game plan and really understand the tendencies.
And it trickles down from the top and lets us play fast.
Your quarterback, breaks the bone and non-throwing hand.
non-throwing hand. He has surgery. I think it's Monday. And then he's going to have to wear a
plate. And he comes back. What type of energy? What type of juice did that bring? Knowing a guy
just has surgery, he's a quarterback. And he's not going to be able to do like the typical
hand off going to the right. He got a backhanded with his right hand because you can't open
his hand and close his hand like he normally would with his left hand. What did that, what did that mean
to have your quarterback knowing that, man, this,
choking just had surgery like a week
ago and he out here on the football field
and you know how physically demanding
and how mentally tough you've got to be
to play this game. I mean, I just start off with
I remember seeing him when it happened
in the game. I saw it happen to hit the dude's helmet
and he's doing this. I'm like, uh-oh.
And he's still finished and completed the game. So they're
off-riff, I'm like, man. That's my QB, man.
And then come to find out he gets
surgery on, I believe, Monday, and dudes out at practice on, like, Wednesday, like, all right,
what we doing?
Like, we got his glove on and, like, slinking.
I'm like, bro, you know what?
Like, that, like, that right there, it's just like, it motivated you, especially as
the defense, it's like, okay, bro, like, our QB's out here, like, we're literally with one
hand, willing to fight and die on the field for us.
Like, it's really something that, like, resonates.
with you as a defense man, I know
specifically for us, like, we really
took that serious and to
heart.
You know what? I don't think
there's a better person to ask than you.
What are the biggest difference between Jim and
John Harbour, our coaching style?
Coaching styles, to be honest, they're really
similar. I think, like,
both of them
are just, like, pure football
guys. Like, everything
is football. You know what I'm
saying? I mean, if you go up to
coach, Jim, and you ask him, you're like, hey, coach, what's up?
He'll say football.
Like, yeah, like life to him, their whole family, like, it's about football.
And I respect that.
I respect it.
They're about winning.
They take winning serious.
And at the same time, they're player coaches.
Like, I love both of them, Jim Harbaugh, my current head coach, coming out of high school,
that was my very first offer.
He was at Stanford.
I went to a full contact cap.
Because I didn't do none of the 7-0-7s and shorts back then.
If it wasn't a full-contact camp, I wasn't going.
Like, that's how I wanted to go hit something, you know what I'm saying?
And me and me and Harmon, we connected that way because he felt the way I played.
Like, we've always just been fans of each other.
So I think they're both similar personality-wise.
I think I always say John's more a little like this, a lot more, and Jim's more like this.
So, you know, that's really the difference between them.
I'm looking at your last four games.
You're at the Chiefs this week in Kansas City.
Then you go to Cowboys at Dallas.
Then you get to Texans and you know what their defense represents.
And then for the division, this might be for the division,
the Broncos at home.
You got to go out.
You guys basically, you win this division, you would have earned it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No doubt.
No doubt about it.
Obviously this weekend, like,
we know we're going to get the best.
The Chiefs, we are not fooled, you know.
We understand, you know, their season up and down.
I was born.
You can deal the death blow.
You can deal the death, hey, you can do something that nobody's ever been able to do since
Mahom has been, well, they had last time they didn't make the playoffs,
God knows when, but they've been to the AMC championship every year that my home's been a starter.
Not only can you not make sure that, you can make sure they don't even
make the play out there's no chance for them to get to the
UFC championship game. A lot of teams are counting on you, Tony,
to deal that death blow.
I don't know. We know. We know.
We know we're going to get their best shot.
You have to be on the wheel.
You know, then we go to Dallas and then we're at home.
It's to Texas. We need that. We need that get back.
We know what happened last year in the playoffs.
So ready for that one, too.
But yeah, we're, we're ready. We're ready. We're looking at our
cops. We're ready to go play.
Like, we're motivated.
We're playing good ball right now.
I just got to keep it rolling.
Yeah, you guys are playing good ball on both sides of the ball.
Obviously, your quarterback just has to be consistent,
going on the back end of the season, going to the playoffs.
You have a superb chance to win the division.
And then probably the division game is going to be based on that last game
against the Broncos and how will you guys play and do.
And shit, man, y'all boys bawling, man.
Y'all boys balling.
I get a joy out of watching you guys play,
not even offensively, seeing what you guys do defensively.
You know, I'm, even though I was a receiver,
I'm a huge fan of back-in play.
Safety, D-Bs, and just understanding
and knowing what I'm watching and what you guys are doing
and what everybody's responsibility is.
So it's been a joy to watch all your boys play.
Appreciate that. Appreciate that.
Yeah, y'all got, y'all inside backers.
They're a little undersized, but boy, they side,
they suck.
Handly impairment.
Oh, they have moved.
And we know what Khalil Mack is.
Kalil Mack, if you need him to set the edge,
you can set the edge.
You want him to bull, he can bull.
You want him to rib, you want him arm over, arm under.
He can do all that.
What, 45?
What's that, what's that, uh, here's a more than the other side?
Yeah, man.
Hey, Tudy.
Hey, Toby's so gangster, bro.
I love Tudy, bro.
If I'm in a bar fight, I want Tudie with me.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's live.
Well, hey, Tony, congratulations, man, on everything.
Hey, you made the right decision.
Because here's the thing.
You're going to have other opportunities to be a scout.
You don't get another whole lot of opportunity.
I mean, you're not going to get that Phillip Rivers treatment.
You're not going to get 44.
They're going to call your ass to come play safety, okay?
So you make sure you get all of that out of your system
because you're never going to find another job to replace what it's like
to have that camaraderie in the locker room on the plane, on the bus,
on the practice field.
So you make sure this time
you get all of that out of your system
because you might not be as fortunate
to get that call back,
to come back and play it again, man.
But congratulations on having a great season.
Stay healthy, and we look forward to talking to you down the road.
A, A, T, do me a favor.
Hey, do me tell Quinn Johnston,
tell him I say, keep that shit going.
Finish the season off strong, man.
Keep that shit going, man.
And keep that confidence high.
So I'm going to relay that.
Good looking.
All right, Tom.
Love.
Appreciate it, man.
Thanks.
Hey, what's up, everybody?

I just want to remind everyone how good Rishi Rice was last.
season. And there's three healthy games. He was the wide receiver two in fantasy. I think Rishi
Rice goes off this week. The Chiefs come on a flip pass to Rice. This side. Touchdown!
Remandre Stevens is my sleeper this week. This is a matchup where I think I can slide in
Stevenson into my flex position and he could deliver double digit points this week.
Drake takes the snap. Hands it off. Remodry running it right and running into the end zone.

This is Sacred Lessons, a space for reflection, growth, and collective healing.
What do you tell men that are hurting right now?
Everything's going to be okay on the other side, you know, just push through it.
And, you know, ironically, the root of the word spirit is breath.
Which is why one of the most revolutionary acts that we can do as people just breathe.
Next to the wound is their gifts.
You can't even find your gifts unless you go through the wound.
That's the hard thing.
You think, well, I'm going to get my guess.
I don't want to go through all that.
You've got to go through the wounds you're laughing.
Listening to other people's near-death experiences, and that's all they say.
In conclusion, love is the answer.

You know, the Eagles positivity rabbit makes a quick exit.
Be a Jeff McLean, the Philadelphia Inquirer,
the inflatable rabbit that was installed last week to bring good vibes
the Eagle locker room has been removed.
The Eagles lost to the charges in the first and only game
played with the rabbit in the house.
Joe, you ever do some things like this in the locker room
to help you break a losing street?
Nah, not that I could think of,
not that I could think of, but you got to get that up out of them, boy.
Hey, that was a tough.
He lost.
You got to go, bro.
Yeah.
So they're going to blame it on the rabbit on?
They're blaming on the rabbit.
Yeah, yeah, you got to blame somebody.
I mean, hey, Ocho.
What do you care for good look?
A rabbit's foot.
They got a whole big ass rabbit in there
and they ain't break us no look.
You got to go.
Yeah.
My brother, we went to the fair.
And my brother run a rabbit's foot.
You used to have rabbit foot key change.
Joe, you remember that, Joe?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
If my brother wanted a rabbit foot key chain,
if my grandpa took it and put the house keys on the,
I'm like, I don't know why we got a house key.
going to bring in this ragged. I mean, there ain't nobody going to bring it here. Trust me.
One time the rob a deer break in the house, we robbed here. Get your broke hands up out of here.
But, I mean, they didn't even get a thing a chance, though, guys. I mean, one week. Now, when you lose
like that, I'll tell you, I'll know. Hey, hey, some got to go. Hey, same, same thing with the
rave me. See, they took all them TV, took TVs out, ping pong machine, pop a shot. You better put
them back in there because they've been losing everything. Hey, they've won a couple of games
and they've been losing ever since. Put them back in there. As a matter of fact, brain from
new ones. Y'all keep them old ones out, but bring some new ones.
And let you know that that stuff ain't got nothing to do with nothing.
Man, look here, man, we had a situation where we, I think we lost, this was 94.
94, I think we started a season, oh and four.
Damn.
Man, Joe, Ocho, we come to work.
Yeah.
A Wednesday, everybody got a piece of rope by this long,
hanging in their locker.
Just hold on to the rope, guys.
It's going to get better.
Hey, when you're getting bad,
you got to find a way to shake things up, man.
You got to find a way to shake things up
and try to get back on track.
That's the hardest part.
Well, you're going to lose the street.
It seems like you can't get off it.
You can't.
It's the same thing with the winning street.
You see, like, when you go on the winning street,
you can't lose.
Hey, when you kick a field,
you kick a walk off field goal,
you block a field goal,
you do something.
A pass interference call to keep a drive alive,
now you're able to run out the clock.
Oh, Joe, it's something.
But when you lose,
you're like, damn.
And it's funny, too,
Uncle Joe, when you win it,
for some reason,
luck is always on your side.
Because if you're going to win consistently,
you need a little bit of luck.
Obviously, preparation is one thing.
But for some reason,
everything always seemed to go right.
The ball always bouncing.
of your favor or the ball always bounce your way but when you're losing you don't want you don't want
talk nobody hell now what we talk about man listen i know that feeling i promise you boy when i
first got hit atlanta uncle ocho we started off in 2005 when i first got hit atlanta
yeah it was bad man we started out three and twenty eight damn joe what we started out three and
28. And y'all could have used me back then, Joe.
Well, hey, listen. Okay, Ocho, I wasn't even eating. I'm coming home going right to
sleep. I don't want to hang out. I don't want to do nothing. I can't even enjoy myself.
When you lose it like that, you can't enjoy yourself.
You know what happened, Joe? Somebody see y'all? That's why you lose it. You need to have
your ass at it in the playbook.
Damn, bro, I can't get no food.
I'm like, bro, I got it. Damn.
Hey, I mean, blackout people.
It's hard, man.
Yeah, and don't go to no club.
Oh, man.
Oh, man.
Man.
If you lose, can you imagine now, uh, uh, uh, uh, because it ain't like it is now.
I mean, I don't know, maybe they still do it.
Maybe they still, you know, guys, they still guide the club and it's like,
that's why y'all lose your ass in the club all the time.
Right.
But, and probably now if you're at the club, they probably put that thing on social media.
Joe. I mean, now you've got social media.
You got platform where people see you
out. Yeah. Take a picture.
Yeah. It's the world
small. Now, you can't do nothing, man.
I'm talking about nothing.
Somebody always watching.
You're right. Somebody's always watching,
hey, man, let me tell you what happened to me today,
Joe. Oh, Joe.
I started to film this.
Look at Joe. You hear Joy back there laughing.
So,
I go down, Shelly ordered me an Uber.
I go down
the guy's like
Miss Davis
I was like yeah
that's me
I go get the Uber
We're about 15 minutes here
Jordan called
A boss you got the wrong car
I said nah he said
Miss Davis
A minute later
Dispatch call
He's speaker
You picked up the wrong
You picked up the wrong
You picked up the wrong passengers
Passages
Yeah
such as such
I was like he said Miss Davis
no there was another Miss Davis
there was two Miss Davis
Wow oh cho
how about this motherfucker pulled side the road
and put me right out on Santa Monica
man get out of here
and you got out
I ain't got no choice
but why didn't take you back to the hotel
man I was
I was closer to where I needed to be
than driving me all the way back to the hotel
oh so you walked where you had to go
no shirley called me a
other Uber. Wow.
He would have had to drop me off, man. You got me,
you got me messed up. No, man. They got
recorded in there. And plus, I'm on probation
right now. So I had to be on my best behavior.
Hey, okay, I got you. I got you. I got
you. Because
I was like, boy, I was like,
I said, man, just just dropped me off right here.
He's like, I can't take, I can't take
you no further. I was like, bro, we, I looked at the
GPS. Oh, so we like, it's going to take him
20 minutes to get back to the hotel.
It's going to take him seven minutes to drop me
I say, just tell her to get into the Uber that was for me.
Right.
She didn't want to do that.
Oh, so she, oh, she wanted him.
Okay.
Mm, so, man, put aside the roll.
Hey, hey, you really ain't got no answer on your phone, do you?
I don't.
No, no, no Uber.
She'll call at, Shelly or Jordan.
Like, Jordan, Jordan, have a timer.
And he knows, like, after a certain time, we're about to wrap up.
He'll call the Uber.
They give us 15 minutes to get, you know, get out there.
And so once we take the picture, I mean, the thing, but I don't, oh, let me tell you about us.
Look at Joy and laugh.
He's just laughing.
So, you know, in room dining thing, they don't let you call down it or the room service no more.
You got to scan the QR code with your phone.
Yeah.
So I, you know, hey, I said, man, Ocho, see, I don't know how to do nothing.
Man, I don't book me a two-night stay at the hotel.
That was George laughing.
Shelly called me, say,
why you book two nights at the hotel?
I said, I ain't booked no two nights at the hotel.
I ordered breakfast.
She said, you ain't ordered no damn breakfast.
You got two, you got a king sweet for two nights next week.
Ocho, I thought I ordered me an egg sandwich and some orange juice.
Hell no.
Now you see why I don't be fooling with the maps, Ocho.
Because all my money, I'd be going to spend $200,000 on a flower arrangement.
That's why I don't fool with it.
You got to be a little tech savvy, man.
We got to send you to a class, man.
No, that's what Jordan here for.
Joy went to class.
Man, I was like, man, this joke will put me out.
This joker pulled right to the side.
I said, man, Ocho, he stopped in the middle of the row.
I said, my man, can't you pull?
like right over to the side man damn that's that's not the unc i know because the uncle i know
won't get down no car he didn't got south hey he didn't got south any oh joe they got you
got you know hey yeah hey you know if i want no pro i'm a probation ocho right i'm trying to
make it the 26 i'm trying to make it the 26 with no mishaps yeah but you can't let people
just take advantage of you like that that's all i get on that yeah yeah yeah the devil work
yeah he tried to get remember old
I said patience.
I said patience.
I need patience.
He ain't going to give it to you.
He's going to put you in a situation that require it.
Hello.
Hello.
How you're talking now.
Yeah.
I said, okay.
I'm going to get out.
I'm going to get out now.
But you're so lucky.
Caught me in 24.
I got out, but not after I told your ass up.
Hey.
Man, I said, man, I had a day-to-day, Ocho.
I got put out of,
Uber and I'd order two night and all
I try to get with a breakfast sandwich and some
orange juice and I got a two nights day at the hotel.
Hey, did they charge you for canceling your two nights
day? Yeah, because
I booked it for next week.
They need that cancellation fee.
They need that.
They ain't get no cancellation fee as many
nights as I stay here.
And Jordan, I stay here. Man, we've
sometimes we were staying here like four, five nights
in a row. Okay.
No, but I said, boy, I had me a day to day.
I said, damn.
Hey, what's up everybody?
Daniel Jeremiah here.
And I'm Bucky Brooks.

We break down every matchup, give you our analysis and advice
so you know who to start, sit, drop, and trade to bring that championship
trophy hole. I just want to remind everyone
how good Rishie Rice was last season
and these three healthy games. He was the
wide receiver 2 in fantasy. I think Rishie
Rice just goes off this week. The Chiefs
come on a flip pass to Rice. This side
touchdown! Remandre
Stevens is my sleeper this week. This is a
matchout where I think I can slide
in Stevenson into my flex position and he
could deliver double digit points this week.
Drake takes the snap. Hands it off. Remodry
running it right and running into the
end zone. Touchdown!
It's never too late to turn your fantasy season around.

For 25 years, I've explored what it means to heal, not just for myself, but alongside others.
I'm Mike Delarocha.
This is Sacred Lessons, a space for reflection, growth, and collective healing.
What do you tell men that are hurting right now?
Everything's going to be okay on the other side, you know, just push through it.
And, you know, ironically, the root of the word spirit is breath.
Wow.
Which is why one of the most revolutionary acts that we can do as peoples just breathe.
Next to the wound is their gifts.
You can't even find your gifts unless you go through the wound.
That's the hard thing.
You think, well, I'm going to get my guess.
I don't want to go through all that.
You've got to go through the wounds you're laughing.
Listening to other people's near-death experiences, and it's all they say.
In conclusion, love is the answer.

Jayla Hurts had five turnovers on Monday,
and the last came in the last camera.
overtime to lose the team's third straight
game. Boos were also
heard during the team's Black Friday home
lost to the Bears and it doesn't take long
for discontent among football fans
to move to the cause to make
a quarterback change.
A change in Philly would
involve moving Tanner McKee or Sam
Howell into the starting lineup, but
Nick Serriani made it clear this morning
that's not something that's entertained
by the team. I think that's ridiculous.
I know every time I go out on the field
with Jaylor Hurts as our quarterback, we have a
to win the game. That's something that's been proven. We won a lot, a lot of football games.
Ojo? Yeah. That's a bunch. That's a bunch of... You see how they turn? You said how to the chain,
turn on the man. You see how they play games? Things not going well. You got a, you got a quarterback
that's been to the Super Bowl twice. He's been to the Super Bowl twice, and he's won one. He just won
last year. It ain't even been six, seven months, huh? And he even been six, seven months since he won his last
Super Bowl. Now things aren't going well.
You ready to jump ship. You ready to jump ship to about change it to another
quarterback that is nowhere near and talented and gifted is one you got right now
and think things are going to change because you switch quarterbacks.
Like, come on now. Come on now. Come on.
All I know is those same fans that was booing called Cam crazy.
Called Cam, they're everything but a child of God.
When Cam said what he said earlier this year, you remember Ocho how they jumped on it
with both feet? Yeah, yeah. They were on top of him.
Hey, listen.
Pulling this hell, everything.
Yeah, I know Philly fans, they, hey, they don't play.
Look, they don't want to, they got a Super Bowl.
They didn't know.
And I get it, Philly fans, they're hardcore, they love their eagles, blah, blah, I get all that.
Bro, y'all, y'all better enjoy this.
Yeah.
Y'all make it seem like y'all just been winning forever.
I mean, yeah, you went to the, y'all went to the football at 80.
Wondy Worskin, you got beat by the Wild Card Raiders.
And you went again with Donovan and then you got beat by the Eagles.
You went back with Nick Foes and you won.
You went back with Jalen, you lost.
You go back again and you win.
Bro, it's hard to win in this league.
See, what has happened, Ocho?
You know what has happened?
The Patriots and the Chiefs got people thinking winning every year,
winning the division every year, going to the playoffs and going to the Super Bowl.
That's easy.
No.
That ain't easy.
at all they made it look easy now yes they did do they made it look easy so they're thinking it's
it's possible for everyone else to do it no coming off a Super Bowl win man the chance of
you actually repeating is extremely hard because you play the toughest schedule every year you get
division winners every year you're all way to play your division you get now you're going
to play your division winners and now you're going to play another division so this year they
played the AFC West, the Chargers, the Broncos, the Raiders, and the Chiefs.
Next year, who knows?
It might be the South.
Right.
It might be the North.
You might have to play, you know, the Steelers.
Well, that might have been a lot.
That might have been two years ago they played the Steelers or something.
But anyway, you're going to have to play another.
No, bro.
I mean, for them to even suggest such foolishness.
Hey, you know, that's how I start, though, now.
Yeah.
It's coming from somewhere.
The call and the knock
always come from inside the house.
Always.
Man,
Oh, Cho, they better sit down
and enjoy this.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
The devil you know is better than the one you don't.
Hmm.
Oh, that's a good one.
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
You keep on, I mean, look, I get it.
You see, I have, you see,
Josh Allen and you see
Mahon, you see Matthew
Stafford and oh, that's what I want.
I want that. I want that. I want that.
Okay.
Hey, you said, what you said? The devil,
the devil you know is better than the one you don't?
Exactly. Hey, that's a good one.
Now, I'm going to use that in my next argument.
No, why are you getting the argument?
You'll be looking to argue.
Yeah, so I can use your quotes. When else I'm going to use?
Don't be using it.
Man, Ocho, don't be bringing me in your foolishness.
he can't help it he can't help me and cabote we got a long great we had us a great old time we
was talking laughing by the fine you know she was having a good time she's like yeah yeah okay how you
do it yeah blah blah but i need to be able to hit up with these quotes and and in like i like
i like to sound like confucius you know at times like that you be sounding like confusion
why don't you just be right why don't you just do the right thing why you got a book so much
Well, sometimes, it's always good to go right, but sometimes I like to go left.
Yeah.
You see what I'm saying, Joe?
He liked to be a little combative.
He got to keep everything balanced, Joe.
No, Joe, don't you like peace?
I mean, hold on.
I saw somebody say they've been a relationship for like 10 years and they've really never had an art.
Oh, was that George Clooney?
George Clooney said he'd been married to him and his wife and never had an argument.
I hear Taylor, excuse me, Kelsey,
on his pod say him and Taylor
really never had no distance.
Oh, but you know, that's what I want.
Hey, uh.
Don't you want that stuff, man, they just be saying stuff
you know, the camera there, people going to see it
and, man, hey, my friend of my name, my audio.
I mean, because sometimes you leave a dish in the sink
when you could have put it in an dishwasher.
You left something on the floor when you could have put it up
in the basket. I get it, yeah.
It's hard to not have no disagreement.
That's, that's, that's a problem.
I'm talking about zero disagreement.
Oh, you know that ain't true.
You know that ain't true.
And that no disrespect to them.
Like, come on now.
You ain't got to pull the wool.
You ain't got a lot of us.
Nah, he ain't got a lot of us.
So y'all say it ain't possible,
it ain't possible to be in a relationship and not argue.
Not have a disagreement?
A disagreement?
You know, it had to be.
Okay, okay, okay.
And most disagreements turn to.
Go to lead to an argument.
Yeah, a verbal altercation.
It happens.
Nah, not necessarily, not necessarily.
Because here's the thing.
Because here's Joe, what happens.
Let's just say for this, this is how it happened.
Okay, you are, okay, you're right.
Oh, you're right.
Oh, you just don't care.
You just said, I'm right just to shut me up.
No, you're right.
No, I ain't right.
What have I been right before?
You normally got something to say, Joe.
I'm saying, you're right.
I was wrong.
Oh, now you're wrong.
You ain't been wrong before.
So now.
So you can win.
You're wrong.
You dead wrong.
I'm right.
Oh, now you're right because I said to see, I knew you didn't mean it.
See, now, what could have just been to fight and disagreement?
You're right.
Right.
I got lazy.
I put it in the sink when I could have just put it in the dishwasher.
You're right, babe.
You're right.
Instead of taking the trash out of trash can and put it in the big bag and leaving it on the floor, I could have just, you know what?
Put it in the big bag, big bag and take it to the trash can.
You're right.
I'm lazy.
You're right.
I'm lazy.
That is not like she having to be lazy.
Oh, oh, you're just saying that.
You don't mean it.
I know you don't mean it.
I agree with you.
I could have done that, but I was tired.
Yeah.
So what could have been something easy?
And then I just like, okay, you're right.
Now, I ain't got no fight in me.
They didn't rob him a fight.
Right, right.
Right.
You, I used to debate with the best of them.
that's me that's me that's me sometimes it ain't worth it man to get you get your water boiling like
that it ain't worth it yeah it was something i tell you joe you know you joe if you don't do it often
see i don't do it often joe i'm not combative i don't like conflict joe but every so often
every moon it's almost like for a play in a sense huh you're setting it up for later you set
the play later on you know the call the play call yeah yeah the play come in you got yeah you got yeah
You feel
me?
Yeah.
Well, that's your hoping
that's the fancy
call on the two-point play.
That's your best call.
That's your best call.
That's your best call on show
because normally your best call,
you got to give me your best
fourth down plate.
You got one, you got two,
not the best one.
Okay, your best two-point plate.
Yeah.
That was the best two-point play.
So, you know other words,
I hope, Ocho, I really hope,
you're setting this up,
you got something called.
I really hope it's a bomb burner.
Yeah.
Joe, I hope you got something planned.
Yeah, Joe, and it starts, it's, you let it marinate throughout the day.
Let it marinate throughout the day, start something, you know.
Nah, I don't start no, no, Joe.
Sometimes you got to do it on purpose, you know.
I'm talking about even if the day going perfect, I'm talking about y'all both having a good day, you're out of nowhere.
Yeah, just, yeah, Joe, just star something, Joe.
Nah, no, no.
It's like, just pull a hair something.
Make one of the tracks come out, you know,
She got, she got track.
No, no, no, no, we got no track.
We got no track over here.
Okay, okay, my bad.
Nah, eh, da, da, no, oh, Joe, da.
I'm just, me, I just like, okay, you're right.
Just leave it alone.
I just, I just, I don't, I don't really, I mean,
because I used to debate for a living.
So if I, I don't want to debate,
I don't want to come home and debate.
Yeah, I know what you, I know, I'm right.
I just want, hey, I'll say,
I said, are you right, let it go.
If I say let it go, just let it go.
Yeah.
Women ain't going to, well, the women that I've dealt with,
ain't going to let it go.
Yeah, no, sometimes they can't let it go.
They try to pull that other side up out of it.
And then when they come out, yeah, they're looking crazy.
Yeah.
Oh, oh, you like that?
I didn't.
I say let it go.
I said, Bay, let it go.
Just let it go.
I just, let me watch TV.
Now you come standing in front of me and the TV.
I can't.
Okay.
I go downstairs.
I go to the entertainment room.
They're coming right now at two.
Right down with you.
Yeah.
Oh, that's your problem.
You don't know how to communicate.
You don't want to have to.
I said, but now it's not a good time.
Yeah.
I'll talk.
I say, look, let me calm down.
We'll have this discussion.
Hmm.
I want to talk right.
Why don't you talk about?
Hey, y'all got it.
Hey, Joe, y'all, and listen, when you eat your food, right?
Yeah.
You got to add seasoning.
You got to add some type of flavor.
And listen, a little argument, a little debate.
That ain't nothing but seasoning.
That's all it is.
You know, a little salt, little pepper.
You know, little paprika.
Yeah.
It ain't too much.
You know, look, you know, sometimes you get chicken, add your little lemon pepper to it.
You know, little barbecue sauce to it.
That's all it is.
Do you add a little affection after that all that?
Yeah, that's it.
That's it.
Oh, so you are, you a sex-after-argument type of guy.
Me?
Yeah.
I mean, for the right price.
Yeah.
Price?
What did you?
Oh, you're on charge?
Get out of here.
Oh, no.
What?
Aberbearing reported that Kevin Stefansky likely won't
out of Cleveland. The one thing that would be
really frustrating for me, if
the coach in Cleveland you've been trying
to make decision for football reasons
and no one will accept them. I can
tell you just knowing the number of people
that I know worked there, that
the quarterback situation was handled this
year over the last six, seven months in a way
that was based solely on how guys were performing
in practice, it makes Defansky look
bad now because you can do it's played well.
If you're Kevin and you're
making all these decisions based on football
decision and you made a lot of other
decisions over the years that were constantly second guess this way is constantly
a circus well you'd be sick of it has this become you know this hasn't worked out for
either one of us in the last couple of years so maybe it's just time hmm he's six and 24
250 well uh uh 250 win percentage over the last two years he's a two time coach at a year
Ocho. Yeah. What do you think it? I mean, it's tough. I think DeFansky is in a tough
spot. Obviously, we're 6 and 24. Having, you know, on your resume, being coached the year two
times, I think that that saved you and gives you a little bit more grace. But obviously,
you know, you can't operate without a quarterback. You can't operate without a quarterback.
So understanding what we've seen from Shador so far and the stuff and the action that
that occurred before he was put in position to be the starter.
Obviously, you always want, you want your best player out there playing quarterback for you
that gives you your best chance to win.
And most of the time, I say it all the time, Uncle, you say it all the time.
Players get coaches fired.
Players get coaches fired.
So for a coach, you would always want to be in a position to have players in there that can do right by you.
That can do right by you, not just you, but your team as well and give yourself a chance
and give you some grace and longevity as a coach.
So I'm not sure why they're playing, why the games have been played in general in Cleveland.
It's been a damn circus, huh?
It's been a goddamn circuit, Joe.
So just some of the play call out, I don't want to get into all that.
We've all seen it.
We've all heard it.
You know something's right.
And anyone that says it's not right based on all the evidence that we've seen since the draft up to this point.
I mean, you just turn the blind eye to the bullshit.
What if is the situation, Ocho,
where Kevin Stefansky really wanted to place your door,
and he was handcuffed?
But I,
hold on.
You think that's possible?
That's what it sounds like to me. I mean, if we're to believe
what Albert Brin is being reported,
how much, how much say do we believe,
how much say do we believe that Kevin
Stafansky have over the final fifth,
the final 53.
How much say does he have in the draft?
How much say does he have in free agency?
Does he have, say, like, say Mike Tomlin,
like an Andy Reed, like a Sean McVeigh?
He has a Mike Drable.
Do you think he has that kind of say, Ocho?
I would think so.
A Sean Payton.
Two-time coach of the year.
Would have some say-so and some of the personnel that he brings in.
I would think so.
I told, I told him the other night, right?
with some of the things that were going on,
I felt like basically
Kevin Safansky was basically
Nico Harris.
Yeah.
I felt he was...
He's taking the fall.
Yeah, you did.
He's taking the fall for all
for the upper management above his pay grade
that the owner came out and said,
listen, this wasn't my pick.
I didn't want you to do her.
So I think he's taking the blunt
and all the heat and his hands are tied.
So, I mean, Uncle, what you said,
it might be a possibility.
We had no control over it.
And maybe he did want him to start the whole time.
But, you know, there's a pecking order.
Like we just talked about.
That's what I'm going to say, yeah.
There's a third round pick.
Oh, well, he's a third round pick for a reason.
So he's always going to be, get first dibs no matter what.
And you're not normally taking quarterbacks a third.
And because you're asking for trouble.
The last time we saw somebody take a quarterback because, look, go back and look at
Washington, Mike didn't want to take a quarterback, didn't want to trade that pick.
He felt they could sit right there where they were and get the quarterback that they
wanted.
He really liked cousins.
He felt he could get cousins where they got cousins and could be fine.
Yeah.
You're in salary cap hell because remember that was the year that the uncapped year and
everybody dumped all their money in that.
Dallas and Washington had to pay all that salary cap money because they had dumped all that
in a non-cap year.
And the NFL said, nah, you couldn't do that.
you're cheating. So they take a quarterback at number two and then they turn right around and
take cousins. How do you think this was going to work out on Joe? You take a quarterback
in the third round and then you take another quarterback in the fifth round. How do you think
this is going to work out? That thing, maybe, maybe security. That's the only thing I think of
security. You're asking for trouble. Understanding that Joe Flacko was going to only give,
only give you so much time left at his age, you know?
Okay, we got, yes, but are we sure Dylan Gabriel is the answer?
You know what?
We're not sure, so we're going to take another one.
Why you take it?
Huh?
Who goes into, normally, that's not how you spoke.
That's not how you draft Joe.
You don't draft the guy and say, well, he might not be it.
If you think he might not be it, why you draft him?
That's a good question.
I mean, I'm not going to the store.
You buy the car?
Man, this car might put me down, but I'm going to go and buy it anyway.
Yeah.
Go ahead, Joe.
Listen, but when we think about it statistically from training camp to preseason,
Shadur has had the best statistics from what we've seen.
Yes.
You know what I mean?
So it's like, to me, it almost kind of feels like perfect time.
Like you say, Gabriel went, Dylan Gabriel went third round and Shadur went fifth.
It's kind of a pegging order.
I'm kind of picking back what Ocho said.
But I think
Shadour has now
took the rings
and I don't think
he's going to give it back
I don't know
I think the young man
is he knows what's at stake
he knows everybody's watching
and man
he just looked like a guy
with a lot of confidence
and poise out there
he looked great on the center
and do you think about it
Ocho
look at the guys he was throwing to
all the guys that he was throwing to
were the rookies that came in with him
oh yeah
so it's not an accident
those are most of the guys that he was getting the reps with.
Right.
It's just hard for me to see a scenario.
I mean, like I said, some people say that didn't happen,
but I've never been on a team where the backup didn't get something,
didn't get at least two reps of period.
Right.
Yeah, always.
I mean, we had a veteran quarterback in Trent Dilfer who backed up Tony Banks,
and he still got two reps a period.
Yeah.
We had a veteran, Randall Cunningham,
who backed up Elvis Gurton.
And he still got two reps of period.
Hey, you play with Randall?
Yeah, I play with, yeah.
Hey, what was that?
In 2001, in Baltimore.
It is dope.
I ain't know Randall was in, I was there.
Yeah.
I didn't know Randall was there.
Uh-huh.
And that's dope, man.
So, so this notion that you wouldn't give a rookie
that had the potential to go in the game.
any reps when veterans that have been starters
had been to Pro Bowls
was getting reps.
It was just unconscionable to me
that people thought that was okay.
That's what I couldn't understand.
Look, if y'all don't understand,
I know, I don't know.
I'm like, man, I don't know what's going on out here.
Look, we know every coach,
every general manager has their guy in the media
when they want to get certain things out, Joe.
Yeah, they know how to get it out.
I'm not saying this is the case,
but I'm saying I know that to be factual.
So when I want to get something out,
I know who to get it to.
Sources in the NFL.
No, your source with the team told you that.
You know, NFL.
Your source with the team told you that.
I know how it works.
Yeah.
I just like me to me.
I just like to talk because I don't like to get information.
I don't because I be using it.
And they go, yeah, the person that I've talked about go,
no, I got that from a very, very reputable person.
So I just let stuff go.
I just like, you know, hey, from my personal experience
and how stuff go, but y'all best believe.
Oh, yeah.
I be knowing.
But, I mean, he's a two-time coach of the year, Ocho.
I don't know.
Look, the Baker situation, how that worked out, the Shador, how that's playing out.
Who knows?
Maybe they want a high draft pick.
I don't know.
Mendoza, I believe Mendoza is going to win the Hizman trophy on Saturday.
Yeah.
And he, Ocho, he might turn around and he might be.
Who knows, great, historically great.
Right.
But as I look at him and look at Shadour,
I mean, if Shadur had that kind of offensive line protection
when he was in college, are we sure?
Yeah.
So I don't know if the Fansky won out.
Maybe that's a situation where they probably want him out.
I don't think he'd be unemployed long.
I mean, he is a two-time coach of the year, Ocho.
He is fairly young.
But look, there are going to be some openings.
What?
Well, first of all, we already know.
There are going to be two openings in Tennessee and the Giants.
And the likelihood there might be more.
Who knows?
It might be one in Las Vegas.
Damn, are ready?
And Pete just got there, huh?
Yeah.
Just be leaving, too.
But, hey, the thing is,
and the NFL,
if you remember what you a couple of years ago,
they sent that memo out,
man, y'all got to stop hiring and firing.
Because think about it,
the John Gruden thing,
he got AP on the contract.
He still got to pay that.
Now you got Pete.
So you got three guys
that ain't coaching for you that you pay in.
And then if you bring another coach in,
you got to pay him.
That's for, and staff.
And patience,
and patience.
So it's going to be very interesting to see how this thing plays out, Ocho.
But at the end of the day, you know what's in that division.
Joe Burroughs in that division.
When he's healthy, he's unbelievable.
The thing is that he's not healthy all the time.
Lamar is in that division.
I just, Lamar is hurt and he's missing throws and he's not like,
he's not running like he once did, Ocho.
because I think he's afraid he's going to hurt that hamstring again.
And so he, look, Lamar is missing throw that Lamar hadn't missed since his rookie year.
Yeah.
So in order for you to be in that division, your quarterback's got to play well.
You got Aaron Rogers.
Now, we don't know if he's going to come back, you know, be at 42 and coming back.
I don't know.
But you got to, you got to have a quarterback in that division.
Just like the AFC, the AFC, West.
you got to have a quarterback
AFC South
quarterback you got Stroud
you got Lawrence
and they had competent quarterback
play and ended for a while
until he got hurt
and now it seemed like he's going
to hell and a handbag
they brought a granddad out of retirement
so it's going to be very, very interesting
to see how this thing plays out in Cleveland
and y'all think they're going to sign
Philadelphia? Oh yeah
yeah they already signed it
oh did it? Yeah
the question is he going to start
that's the question
and the question
if they're going to side
if he's going to start
I'm saying
who else they got
that can play in front of him
they got Riley Leonard
but he got a banged up knee
yeah
I mean he's starting
he's starting
he's starting
listen
a joke
I mean
there's a relationship
and understanding
of scheme
and tactics
between Shane Steichen
and Philip Rivers
so the system
he's very familiar
with it
and because he's so familiar
with the system
all it is now
and is getting as much time in and chemistry as you can,
you know, with the offense and with the players right now,
but he's going to start Sunday.
I'm not sure.
For what he does is he, he's giving and hoping
and giving that team a chance to keep their head above water
because they still have a chance to make the playoffs
and they're just trying to see this.
We're going to kick these tires and see what Philip Rivers can do for us,
you know, for the rest of the season to see if we can make a run,
make a run at the playoffs.
They got to.
They got to stay.
how because they gave up those two first round picks.
Hey. They get them the two first round picks.
And the further you fall without understanding
to how those picks are.
Yeah.
So guess what?
Next year,
if Daniel Jones doesn't come back healthy
until because he was dealing with a broken leg
and now he's got to torn Achilles, so he's got to heal two injuries.
Yeah.
Now you mess around it,
now you mess around and be like the indie of old.
Yeah.
Well, the Jets going to get a top five pick.
Yeah.
We might have two top five picks
because they're going to look like they might be some sloth
because they're looking for a quarterback too.
You know, you're right back at square one.
Hey, them injuries are going to take a while to here, man.
You ain't going to be the rest Dan Jones back
with them two injuries right there.
And that was the only reason that was the only reason
they was playing with that broken,
I think it was a tibia or the lower leg.
Tip, fibula.
Thibular, yeah.
So that's the only reason
to play in Ocho and Joe is because they were in prime position
to make the playoffs, make the playoffs,
that means the pick's going to probably be way on down there,
24, somewhere between 24 and 32.
You can live with that.
I ain't really trying to get no top 10, no, you know, team pick,
no early team, no top 10 pick.
I ain't really trying to do that for you, bro.
Right.
Because they went all in.
When you make that trade for Salis Gardner,
you're basically saying, I'm all in.
I'm jumping on this thing with both feet.
Yeah.
How long South's going to be out?
He nicked.
I mean, it got a calf injury.
There ain't no telling.
And then plus Daniel Jones,
it don't matter what Saul's doing.
You got to have a quarterback.
Yeah.
Hell, he can't throw the ball.
And he might be 44, but that's all you got.
And even at 44
Man, it's hard for me to believe
That you couldn't go
You couldn't you couldn't you couldn't scour
31 other teams practice squad
And say hey bro
This is an opportunity for you to start
Absolutely not
I mean they reached out to Sam Ellinger
Who's on the Broncos practice squad
He said no I'm good
He said all y'all going to do is get me over there
And then at the end of the season you're going to cut me
Let me stay right there where I am
I know the system
I'm cool.
Hold on.
I got one for you better.
Even if they're all 31 other teams with 31 other backups,
how many of those 31 of the backups are better than Phillip Rivers
even right now at 44?
Well, we're going to find out on Sunday.
Right.
And so I want you to break your ass off here on Sunday.
All right, all right.
Because you, listen, you know this.
Your spotty senses, even in the off-season from the time that you
from the time
of your last game
until the time
you come back
your spotty citizens
have to heighten
they have to get back
in alignment
they don't tingle
like they once did
can you imagine
Ocho can you imagine
let's just say
for the sake of argument
Ocho
you don't play the game
for five years
and they say
you know what Ocho
come on back out
and you come back out there
in 35
boy you're going to be
running through
man's on read
they're going to be
tearing your ass up
you're going to be
Yeah, I think if anything, he might be just a beat off.
That's it.
Yeah.
It ain't nothing change, your choice.
It's not like he was running.
It's not like he was Michael Vick before he left.
No, absolutely not.
He was stationed at he, he had cement shoes on when he was 25.
Shit, man, he was going to be handing this thing.
He's going to be handing that thing on.
If y'all didn't, when you see what they did, is that because they know Daniel Jones can't run like he
once dead, they stacked the line.
They say, no, we're not going to let
John J.T. beat us.
Beat us throwing the ball.
So they took that away from him.
Hey, everybody. Daniel Jeremiah here.
