Starting point is 00:03:35 I see you been You know low top Yeah I'ma keep wearing Low tops for a minute Out the gate Summertime Alright man we got a special guest In the building
Starting point is 00:03:42 You know what I'm saying The future of the city The man that A lot of people have A lot of faith and excitement about because he's that fucking good and he's gonna take the city to the next level we got the quarterback of the coast my man anthony richard ar5 appreciate you pulling up my boy appreciate you coming bro so man it's so bob hey man listen dog we ain't had a quarterback that look like us in this city. It's a blessing to have you, man. We appreciate you, man.
Starting point is 00:04:08 How you living, man? How's that been treating you so far? Nah, man, I love it now. Except when it get cold, but. Ah, yeah. Don't worry about that. Ah, you done with your first winter here. Yeah, it was negative eight.
Starting point is 00:04:20 I ain't never been under 15. Yeah. Welcome to the meal with us. For sure, man. Yeah, for sure. It's getting real spooky out here, for sure. Obviously, man, we know what you do for a living, but also, you know, you get active on the court, man.
Starting point is 00:04:35 Yeah, a little bit. Shout out to my boy, Jay. You know what I'm saying? The highlights of you in the YMCA going crazy. What's up with it? You grew up hooping a little bit? Yeah, I grew up hooping with some of my homies, but when I be in the wild, man, I just be chilling, man. I don't even
Starting point is 00:04:47 really be trying for it. Nah, you be looking like LeBron. Yo, highlight reel is crazy. LeBron's life type is silly. Off the windmill. I'm like, the one foot bounce is nuts, bro. What position did you play in high school? One through five.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Like me? Five? I didn't play that much. What position did you play in high school? One through five. Like me? Yeah. Five. He played up high. What was your number? What number you were? I wore three different numbers. I wore two, 14, and 21.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Come on, man. 21, Sporta Guy is my number. So you... Childs and Darius Knight, too, that went to L lsu do you know who that was he went to uh yeah he from williston man oh man yeah he went to uh lsu i believe he was called back in the day i've seen him hoop in person a few times i think we have to uh play the answer okay yeah i think bro went to imG too yeah high school my shit since we talking about hoops yeah how many people
Starting point is 00:05:47 do you think are playing the NBA and the NFL you think they had that debate going how many people in the NBA yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:05:53 you think they can translate and what position I know I could've been a silly DB that's just me my feet like this no what
Starting point is 00:06:02 you ain't seen my feet nah oh you crazy? Hips is crazy, folks. That is nuts. Yeah, I got the hips. Oh, Ricky Barrio. Jesus Christ.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Just saying, bro. Feet work like that. I don't know, man, because you got a bunch of different positions. So you got to specify for me. Because everybody can play football. Let's just say they could be a wide out athlete. Most of the basketball players are about 6'3". They could be a decent wide out.
Starting point is 00:06:29 They probably all run about 4'5", 4'6". In that range. You don't think they run 4'5", 4'6"? No. What? That's actually moving a little bit. Nah, they can move, bro. What?
Starting point is 00:06:43 Trust me, bro. I run like a 4-4. Okay, I can believe that. Yeah, but it's people faster than me. Anthony Edwards definitely run like a 4-5. Yeah. Easy. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:06:56 He can't play football. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's crazy. He thinks he translates better to basketball to football than vice versa. Then a football player trying to hoop at a high level. See, every football player can't hoop. But I don't really think basketball players are as physical for the sport. Not at all.
Starting point is 00:07:22 I 100% agree. EJ still want to tackle that name that ej still want to tackle that name i told him football man flag i could get up i could catch a pass on him and he said i'm gonna let you catch the ball so you won't play football yeah i said bro it's flag bro you can't tackle me for sure man obviously growing up in florida was just a mecca of football um for you going crazy in high school how easy was it for you to decide where you wanted to go to college because i'm sure obviously you had everybody wanted you to pull up nah i ain't had everybody uh i had i probably had like 19 18 offers damn i mean that that's that's that's that's a decent amount
Starting point is 00:08:05 you know I'm not knocking it or nothing but most of the quarterbacks in my class they had like 30 plus damn
Starting point is 00:08:11 so I really felt like I was slept on a little bit but I mean choosing a college wasn't necessarily too hard for me I knew I didn't want to be
Starting point is 00:08:19 nowhere cold because you know I'm from Florida and I didn't want to be too far from my family so it's really just trying to pick the right school. And then Florida was the only school talking about education anyway.
Starting point is 00:08:29 So I was like, why not just stay at the crib? Oh, that's dope. It's hard. For sure. Lineage of a great school. You know what I'm saying? We talk about the Florida Gator Days, especially of our recent, we're a little bit older than you, but the T-Bowl Days.
Starting point is 00:08:42 And then it was the Glory Days, for sure. For sure. I was hearing about that, man. Nah, we talk about all the time some of the best college teams of all time. That Tebow squad they had. Percy Harvin? Come on, bro. Did that weigh on your decision, though?
Starting point is 00:08:56 Like the history of the school, or was it more so like the coaching staff? Like what led you to Florida? Nah, it was really like the staff. And then it's a great school to get an education from so i was like that's a plus yes the main thing i was looking at was how fast i can get on the field i might have a chance to get out there early so why not go to a school instead of trying to sit for two years yeah so like when they recruit you in football because i know in basketball that's the. You want to play as a freshman. Like, when you go to football, do they tell you, like,
Starting point is 00:09:28 yo, you're not going to play your freshman year? During recruiting, nah, they don't tell you. I went to you, signed a line, they let you know? Pretty much. Oh, that's crazy. That's why I couldn't. That's why I can't play football. But, I mean, especially in the league he was in,
Starting point is 00:09:40 you know what I'm saying? That's different. No, I mean, you got to. It's a learning curve, for sure. But, like, I feel saying? That's different. No, I mean, you got to, it's a learning curve for sure. But like, I feel like if you good enough. I mean, that lets you know like,
Starting point is 00:09:49 if you come in and do what you got to do, then you got a chance to play. But they're not going to tell you like, oh, you're not going to play. Yeah, I need a guarantee. I mean, if you go to the USA
Starting point is 00:09:58 and you behind Reggie Bush, nigga, sit down. Straight up. Wait your turn. That's why I would have been at Marshall. I'd be saying nothing if I'm sitting behind Reggie Bush, bro. I would have been at Marshall cause I would have been nothing I'm sitting behind Reggie Bush bro I would have been like nah I'm going to play at Marshall
Starting point is 00:10:10 until you get to practice you realize oh yeah that's Reggie Bush they got to play him today I'm going to Marshall cause I ain't going to waste my time I want to play immediately I couldn't do that like I respect everybody who can like red shirt and stuff I respect it I mean for basketball it different. Because if I was hoping, I want to guarantee a spot on the court. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Football, you gotta learn a new system. You got to work out a new bunch of things. A bunch of people on the team anyway. Guarantee some of this stuff to other players anyway. So it's like, you got to be big already anyway so it's like you got and they'd be big already so it's like sometimes you got to sit down and just be quiet for sure i was gonna ask you that um obviously how was your transition going to college you know i'm saying you get comfortable with the high school age i'm like that now you're in a new age and you're in a real conference in football how was that transition going like you said obviously i know i had a size when you paused
Starting point is 00:11:03 but then you had to go in there and deal with them. They was already grown men in that situation in 1920 because they had them workouts. Yeah. I got to Florida when I was 17. Mm-hmm. I was already pretty big from my side. I was already like 6'3", 220, 230.
Starting point is 00:11:18 So it was like I was already big. That didn't matter. But football always going to be football to me. You feel me? So I don't care what league I'm in. I don't care how fast the other person is. Ball going to always be ball because I've been playing since I was a kid. So it's like it ain't nothing too crazy.
Starting point is 00:11:36 But it was a little different on my first time stepping out there. It's like, all right, these lights bright for real. Yeah, facts, facts. Man, 230 at 17, bro. You know what I'm saying, bro, you think your life, your life,
Starting point is 00:11:47 it was 160. You think you was about to go to Florida fucking with A. Richard M., nigga? I was 155 when I graduated high school. Boy, to lift you up,
Starting point is 00:11:56 were you the first kid with 15? Did you play defense in high school too? Nah, they didn't let me. Ah, shit.
Starting point is 00:12:00 I used to, I always played quarterback in safety. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But when I got to high school, they was like
Starting point is 00:12:05 nah we need you at quarterbacks you can't play safety so what are your favorite quarterbacks number one Cam okay
Starting point is 00:12:12 that's dope see that that's my dog Lamar definitely go Vic for sure I like Josh Allen
Starting point is 00:12:20 a lot I like A-Rod a lot I can really keep going for sure you a fan of the game yeah man I was thinking about this the other day looking at some I like Josh Allen a lot. I like A-Rod a lot. I can really keep going. For sure. You a fan of the game.
Starting point is 00:12:27 Yeah. Man, I was thinking about this the other day, looking at some old Madden covers and stuff like that. I was like, some of the black quarterbacks that don't get spoken enough. Dog, Steve McDare was one of the coldest that don't get talked about enough. Yeah, he was nice. I've been hearing a little bit about him. Bro, what a coldest. I had this jersey.
Starting point is 00:12:41 I wore that motherfucker every day. Don't say nothing. And we ain't going to start. I ain't had no gear, bro. Nah, I'm just talking. I'm talking, bro. I love Mama T. It was a lot of y'all, bro.
Starting point is 00:12:51 Y'all was a real Brady Bunch, bro. The Black Girls, bro. The Steve McNair jersey or the FUBU jersey? Which one? Nah, that 92 jersey. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:12:58 See, ain't Rich too young for that. He ain't know nothing about that. Y'all didn't see that. People was already swaggy by the time you became you don't need to see that people was already swaggy by the time like you became
Starting point is 00:13:07 like 14, 15 y'all was already geared like yeah we had they go in the prime they suits tailored they got designer shoes my super prime
Starting point is 00:13:17 was a 4X K&G model nah facts bro my suit was 4X bro you wanted it like that yeah that's how we wore our clothes back then. Hey, that's the jersey.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Yeah. That's the one you wore. He wore that to prom. He got chill. He got it right with the prom. My suit was a 4X, though. Yeah, bro. We wore our clothes big back in the day.
Starting point is 00:13:39 I don't know if these look like 42. That ain't it, though. Nah, it wouldn't. It wouldn't. Trust me, it wouldn't. That's what I say. Y'all fashion is way way better Than ours bro
Starting point is 00:13:47 I'ma try to pull out a suit Like that one day Nah don't do that bro Nah you know Try to bring it on Me it probably won't be That crazy right now Baggy clothes
Starting point is 00:13:54 Coming back in What we was doing was absurd I was 155 Had 42 jeans bro Yeah Niggas was hooping 4X 5X t-shirts Under they jerseys
Starting point is 00:14:03 That was That was real to y'all Yeah For real It was nasty work But that was time If you bored one day bro Go check out Soulja Boy videos whooping 4X, 5X t-shirts under their jerseys. That was a drip, y'all. Yeah, for real. It was nasty work, but that was the time. If you bored one day, bro, go check out Soulja Boy videos back in the day.
Starting point is 00:14:10 I used to always watch that Soulja Boy. Yeah, go see how long your shirts was. I seen it. Yeah, that was a... That was hard. It was a nasty time. Nasty.
Starting point is 00:14:17 Very nasty time. That ain't it. Nah, facts. It'd be so funny listening to people his age talk about us they'd be so disappointed but obviously man you know so you're saying? You adjusted and went crazy. I got to ask you, your last year at Florida, how was that? Because, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:14:48 A lot going on, like, people obviously recognize how talented you were and how good you were. And a lot of people, like you said, slept on you. And then as the season progresses and now it's time, season's ending, draft wars is coming, and now your name is, like, shooting to the top. Where you're like, I should have already been there, but, like, everybody's waking up to you how was that feeling to start like i'm saying get some of the recognition from the fruits of your labor at the same time still kind of slighting you
Starting point is 00:15:11 man i ain't like my whole career at florida was a little different uh my first year of course i got red shirt i only played four games uh my first career pass was the interception. One of my first career runs was a fumble. So it was a little rocky already. But last game of the season, they threw me out there. We was getting whooped by Oklahoma, losing by 30. Threw my first touchdown. I'm like, I'm cheesing. Yeah, I'm down like 30.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Everybody like, are you good? I'm like, yeah, I just threw a touchdown. So that kind of set it up for me. And I was like, okay, this next year i got a chance to be a starting quarterback and my dog e you know uh he was a year dog too so you know me and him competing every every day and he won the job they're like all right cool you're gonna you're gonna get in y'all gonna split time a little bit so i'm like cool and i started pulling my hammies never pulled my hammies before i'm like bro what's going on so played a few games that year they messed around and threw me out there to start against georgia and one defense in the country like statistically everywhere
Starting point is 00:16:18 it's like man first game left that game early with a concussion so i'm like bro something ain't something ain't right and i messed my knee up i had to have surgery at the end of the season so my third year had a new coaching staff i told him i say man i'm gonna see how this spring go but if it ain't it i'm out of here you know so yeah they was Damn. They was like, all right, we understand. Because I was going to have to learn a new offense and stuff. And I was like, man, I don't know. And I'm coming off a knee surgery. I might not be able to run the same. But, you know, I stuck with it.
Starting point is 00:16:55 You know what I'm saying? My family was there to support me. I had the guys with me all the time. They would support me. They would turn to me at the games. But finally, like, that end of that year, I already knew I wasn't going to be at Florida again. You know, whether I did declare or not,
Starting point is 00:17:12 I wasn't going to be there again. Because I just felt like I just needed a change, something for me. But I declared because I was hearing I can get drafted first round, second round. I'm like, who don't want to get drafted first or second round? Fucking right. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:17:28 I just better myself with my name out there. And I already knew I was going to do me. Everybody was going to finally start waking up and seeing who I was. So everything just fall in line. No shout out to God. For sure. And that was the fire part, like you said, dealing with the adversity that you dealt with. But your skill and ability was always there no matter what happened. It just needed to be recognized at the right time and that's what the fire part
Starting point is 00:17:48 about it was like you had people who were skeptical about it it's like we didn't see enough we didn't see enough but then we used they saw you actually work they saw you do your she's like it's undeniable yeah so that was like dope to see and then obviously we're gonna go too far but like you come in here bro mean so much i know you probably hear that a lot but for this city and the people that look like us and the representation that happens, we don't get that to happen a lot here. So for that to happen, for you to come here, it's crazy. But definitely got to talk about that process, man. Did you even know that you was going to be in Indianapolis?
Starting point is 00:18:17 Obviously, maybe not. But did you have a thought about that? Man, you know, it's crazy. So before I even declared, everybody was like, oh, bro, you might end up in Indy. You might end up in Indy. And I'm like, mm. I'm like, okay, cool. I'm hearing they need a quarterback.
Starting point is 00:18:33 But it was like five other teams that needed QBs, too. So I'm like, all right, bet. We'll see. Training keep going. I just keep hearing more and more. I'm like, all right, this might actually happen. Then I started hearing more about other teams. So I'm like, all right, this might actually happen. Then I started hearing more about other teams. So I'm like, all right.
Starting point is 00:18:46 So I see how this is going to go. I just don't know where I'm going to end up. And I thought I was going number one. I swear I did. My agent told me he was like, you know what I'm saying, they're moving around. They're doing certain stuff. So, you know what I'm saying, they might get you.
Starting point is 00:19:01 So I'm like, all right, cool. You know what I'm saying, First round, number one pick. That's crazy. Like, why not? Boy. But, man, we got closer to the draft. And we at the draft like two or three days before the draft. And I'm like, bro, I didn't hear no call from Carolina yet.
Starting point is 00:19:17 So I'm like, I'm not going number one. You know what I'm saying? I'm like, bro, I'm not going number one. It's like, you don't know, you don't know. Just chill. I'm like, i'm not going number one it's like you don't know you don't know just just chill i'm like all right bro so the day of the job they had a little hat set up or whatever and then one of the running backs had them like messed up uh one of the hats it was b john messed up one of the hats it was an indie hat my mom went over there to take pictures with the other qb moms
Starting point is 00:19:43 and she fixed the hat i'm sitting there watching her and she's fixing the hat. So I'm like, I'm like, man, something ain't right. And she was the only person that seen the hat that was messed up. And she the one, when I fixed it,
Starting point is 00:19:55 I'm like, all right, I might mess around. I do end up in Indy for real. That's crazy. That fourth pick came. Well, even before the fourth pick,
Starting point is 00:20:03 the third pick, that's what we was really worried about though. Cause we kept hearing people was going to trade up and try to grab came. Well, even before the fourth pick, the third pick, that's what we was really worried about, though, because we kept hearing people was going to trade up and try to grab me. Then Houston got that pick. I looked at my phone. I said, we going to Indy. That was that. Happy to have you, dog.
Starting point is 00:20:17 That's fire, bro. That's fire. That's crazy. Without a ball, it's just a court. Without your spirit, it's only a game. So together with the fans, we bring our best. Hennessy is excited to celebrate the intersection of basketball with art, music, and fashion. What Vets Grab, you know, brought you in and showed you the ropes a little bit and invested, hollered at you as soon as you walked in the building?
Starting point is 00:25:32 Man, man. EJ Speed is out here. Shout out to my dogs. And my guy Shaq, man. First day I got there, they was like, you know, we rocking with you. We believe in you. Don't do too much. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:25:46 Just come here and be you. I was like, you know what I'm saying? Say less. All I got to do is come here and be me. Not do too much. They just been showing love every single day. That's family, bro. We fuck with the trenches.
Starting point is 00:25:59 That's the dogs. What's that like leading men, though? I've kind of been in a similar situation to you. Not as important because basketball is a little different. I mean, quarterback, you know how it is. Yeah. Everybody, not everybody can play point guard, but we get a share of duties. I mean, PT pretty much QB as well.
Starting point is 00:26:18 Yeah, but you get shared duties. Like, you can have a two guard bring the rock up. But as a quarterback, you the focal point. You make shit happen on offense. What's that like leading men as a young rookie? Vets looking to you? It was a little different at first. When I first got here, I was only 20 years old.
Starting point is 00:26:40 So it was like, dang, you got people here, four kids. I feel kids, wife that have been in the league for 11 years. Responsibilities. I'm supposed to tell this grown man what to do if he ain't doing it the right way. You know what I'm saying? So I just sat back. Of course, I'm the QB, so they're going to listen if I say something a little bit. But now that I've been here for a year, you a year i'm saying they they respect me a lot more but when i first came in it wasn't necessarily me trying to like boss people around like i know my position i know everybody gonna have eyes on me
Starting point is 00:27:15 and they want to listen to me but i said i was a rookie i'm young i was 20 years old so it's like you got to sit back and learn sometimes so that's what i was really doing just sitting back you know what i'm talking to z talking to speed talking about you know what i'm saying talking to the vet guys i don't been here done it already i said just get some advice and i said they just let me know i ain't got to do too much and the fire part about that is you know what i'm saying obviously the respect is reciprocated you look at people like you you look at people like anthony edwards like for him to be that age in that locker room and they listen to him for you to be your age in that locker room and they respect what you do because they know you put the work in. It's dope as fuck to see.
Starting point is 00:27:51 I got to ask, how was it that first game? You know what I'm saying? You build up to this moment, want to make it to the league. Now you got your first game. How was that feeling? First game was lit. I ain't gonna lie. Running out of the tunnel.
Starting point is 00:28:04 I swear I never felt anything like that before. Like damn. It felt like a real movie scene. Like I'm just jumping around looking in the stands. I'm like damn I'm really here. Hell yeah. So it was lit but I had a little bit of nerves. I ain't gonna lie because it's like NFL, first game, young quarterback. It's like everybody trying to see what I'm going to do. So the old me, I used to always try to be Superman on the field. I'm trying to make every play. Every play I make got to be a big play.
Starting point is 00:28:38 So as a quarterback, you just got to learn how to manage the game. And that was really what I was trying to do. You know what I'm saying? Just do my job and not do too much. So it was cool. Once I got that first one in, I was like, all right, I can do this. For sure. How was that adjustment?
Starting point is 00:28:48 Like, obviously, you know what I'm saying? You played a big time league in college and then coming to the pros, you're just like, all right, everybody ain't as good as me, but they damn sure close. How was that adjustment? Even with like training camp and stuff like that, like dealing with your skill set against a new set of type of players? See, playing in the NFL, I feel like it's easier than college. For real, for real. Because in college, you got players that's,
Starting point is 00:29:14 they good. They know they good, but they're not as confident. They got to rely on other players to do this for them to do that. But in the league, everybody trying to work to stay in the league. Trying to keep their job. Everybody trying to do that. But in the league, everybody trying to work, just stay in the league, you know what I'm saying,
Starting point is 00:29:26 trying to keep their job. Everybody trying to ball out. For sure. So that just let me know, hey, you got to do too much. You got to do my job. Hell yeah. And he going to do his job. It's going to work.
Starting point is 00:29:37 But the adjustment, man, my first practice with the Vets was rough. I threw like three interceptions. I'm just like man these dudes fast that speed boy so I had to I had to get my mind right
Starting point is 00:29:51 but it wasn't it didn't take too long to adjust for sure that's funny because you talk about that with Kyle Shugie
Starting point is 00:29:57 which is like like the NBA was like the spacing and stuff the difference in the game was kind of easy to adjust that way and to hear that in football
Starting point is 00:30:03 is very interesting because like you said everybody in the game, it was kind of easy to adjust that way. And to hear that in football is very interesting because, like you said, everybody in the league code. Everybody code, but the challenge is that everybody's code at their position. They fast. Everybody's great. But they, like you said, everybody on your team is great too, and they working. So it makes
Starting point is 00:30:17 your job a little easier, but it definitely a little different in college, though. I remember that. Because sometimes in college, you got a couple guys that's there just for school. Like, I'm playing this sport to get my degree. I'm going to be an accountant. So they don't put the same amount of effort in as a dude that's in the NFL. So I understand.
Starting point is 00:30:36 But my question was, I like to have fun. I play mad. You play mad? Nah, bro. Bro, what? I used to. I used to a lot but
Starting point is 00:30:45 you ain't play with your paws you ain't you ain't soup yourself up bro I wanna why you start doing emotions
Starting point is 00:30:52 though bro just talk I'm saying bro you ain't you ain't pick your throat bro you out of
Starting point is 00:30:58 pocket I have voice but I better even be in the game I feel you y'all got way more film session than I do.
Starting point is 00:31:06 I mean, I got time to play the game, but when I be having free time, I be trying to rest, boy, because I be tired. I feel you. You heard my boy say DoorDash, look, it works so hard. DoorDash is essential to his lifestyle. Anthony Richard loves DoorDash. Every day.
Starting point is 00:31:22 That's the kid right there telling me that. Every single day, I DoorDash. I told you not. Tap cat right there telling me that's every single day I DoorDash. I told you not. Tap in. I need to tap in. Screenshot that balance, Nasty. So show them. DoorDash every day.
Starting point is 00:31:31 Me and him, hey, listen, we can do a commercial together. DoorDash, we did one before. We can do two. Spend a block. Spend a block.
Starting point is 00:31:40 I wanted to ask you though, when you start rapping, bro? 2022. A couple of my homies, they rap. so they've been doing it way before i was doing it and once one day i just went into the studio session with them and i'm like man y'all didn't let me get on the song but i was just playing yeah that was like all right beth so said i did it i'm like all right yeah this this feels kind of good you know what i said i to, because I don't really be talking that much. I really just chill mode.
Starting point is 00:32:09 But music just let me express how I feel. I ain't got to talk to nobody to do it. I just go rapping. Yeah, you're touching up. This dog, when I saw you and I saw the music videos, I was like, oh, this about to be the quarterback in that? It's fucking up. No, we had Phillip Rivers. He quarterback in that. It's fucking up.
Starting point is 00:32:26 No, we had Phillip Rivers. He had 85 kids. We got somebody on YouTube getting a crack at it. I was all in. We needed for the city. Who you listen to for the game? Him? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:35 He just started, though. No, no, last year. Last year. I would. Listen to yourself right before you play. It's crazy. That ain't crazy.
Starting point is 00:32:44 I was doing that in college. So you was rapping before then, though. Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's what I meant. Yeah, because we thought you being like 2022 is when you first. I'm talking when you first hit the studio. Oh, yeah. 2022.
Starting point is 00:32:58 Oh, okay. Well, just rapping. Just messing around. Oh, before. Okay. Cool. But yeah, it really depends on how i'm feeling though before the game i'm trying to turn out there you know what i'm saying i i gotta find somebody to turn up to but i really just be trying to chill most of the time you're right i listen to myself
Starting point is 00:33:20 you know what i'm saying because i listen to my music motivate me more because i would be talking about my life you know what i've been through and stuff listen to my music, it motivates me more. Because I would be talking about my life, you know, what I've been through and stuff. So it's like, all right, this is why I hit balling. So just keep it going. You got a tape dropper? Soon, probably not. But give me like, give me a few more, so I got you. Respect, bro.
Starting point is 00:33:38 Because I've been meaning to, you know what I'm saying, get back in the studio, but I've been so tired. I feel you, man. You're locked in, for sure. We had a guest say he listened to Usher before the game. He out of pocket. I know he's a goddamn wilder. Where he at?
Starting point is 00:33:52 Usher? Yeah, Ray John Rondo. Said he listened to Usher. That's why I asked you what you, even before growing up, what was your go-to? Your headphones. Oh, man. You're a Florida boy
Starting point is 00:34:05 I didn't know if anybody down there called that of course you gotta listen to Yak all the time yeah wow
Starting point is 00:34:11 I was a big Uzi fan for a while okay then I low key transitioned to no cap and then of course I listened to Gunna all the time
Starting point is 00:34:20 so they always be in rotation no cap code yeah for sure new Gunna tape I ate too I ain't you know it is no it's like, they always be a real taste. No cap code. Yeah, for sure. The new gunner tape I ate, too. It is. No, it's fire. It's fire, though.
Starting point is 00:34:30 And then he's here. Nah, because I rock with Jeffery. You know what I mean? Jeffery, my dog. Nah, he's not Jeffery. Jeff, that's my guy. So, it's slime. Nah.
Starting point is 00:34:42 He's trying to get me indicted. Look what he own, bro. He's trying to get you. That's the Johnson Puerto Rico. Nah, I'm just playing. Free, John. Free. He's trying to get me with the Rico Charger.
Starting point is 00:34:54 You out of pocket. All right, man. So I got to ask, how was your first time touching down the nap, man? First day was after the draft. Got here, it was raining. Seen them cornfields. Yeah. I'm like, they ain't wear everything. first day was after the draft got here it was raining seen them cornfields yeah
Starting point is 00:35:07 I'm like dang where everything at I'm like where everything at like what's up with this place but you know what I'm saying
Starting point is 00:35:17 I traveled around a little bit I'm like okay it's a chill place you know what I'm saying it ain't one of those places where you gotta be come here and be all flashy
Starting point is 00:35:24 and stuff you just be yourself with this vibe. So yeah, I love this place. Real good place to get your money and stay out the way. And the crazy thing about the city is that like it's good. I mean, no matter what the Pacers do, the way that the Colts season goes affects so much in the city and it'd be crazy because they don't even got to be a good season. If everybody feel happy or positive about the shit the city is different for like six or
Starting point is 00:35:49 seven months man when we was going through it here it was real sad it was real sad it was real sad dog but even last year man you know i'm saying obviously you coming in unfortunately with the injury still getting the rest to get ready for next year the promise like the team you brought was so happy for the city like especially with you i'm saying like kaylin and leah boston and like tyree's like the city got new people to like really push and be happy about like your talent so yeah that's fire but i gotta ask you know i'm saying after playing a little bit last year you know i'm saying then watching what i saw how do you feel so far about like coming into the next season like being able to say all right i had a small simple size but i know what i'm capable of or i saw what they was that's crazy
Starting point is 00:36:27 the real journalism so all right come on my boy look at my co-workers man hey man i'm geeked for next season man i ain't even a colts fan but all my friends and family are colts fans i listen i'm from the city born and raised you know i'm saying i when the colts win it makes me happy my friends is happy in the group chat they want to barbecue it's a good time saying mad as happy in the group chat. They want to barbecue. It's a good time. Same. Mad as hell in the group chat on Monday. But I've been a Cowboys fan since I was six. So, unfortunately. He's been disappointed for so long.
Starting point is 00:37:10 I've been living with heartbreak a long time. Have some sympathy for me, bro. I can't jump games, though. It is what it is, unfortunately. But I support y'all. You know what I'm saying? I got my support and respect. You know, I'm locked in.
Starting point is 00:37:20 I got the Colts. I'm off. I'm far from getting that name. Yeah, I got. No, no, no. Wait, wait, wait. Tell him the name. Five Colts. far from getting that name Yeah I got No no no wait wait wait Tell him the name Five Coast Warriors
Starting point is 00:37:26 He can do it Yeah Ask him Not you Name Name five Zaire Speed
Starting point is 00:37:34 You talking about all time Forever Just do it forever Luck Since they had the film It's with the one thing Off the belt Pay you money
Starting point is 00:37:43 Don't do that That's fine. Reggie Wayne. I keep going. Dallas Clark. I'm going to keep going. Pierre Garcon. He looked like that runner back from, what was the runner back?
Starting point is 00:37:55 Joe Suddai. Yeah. I was locked in, bro. What are you talking about? He didn't even say JT. He looked like Joe A for sure. Yeah, JT. Yeah, I forgot about him.
Starting point is 00:38:04 I'm glad he back, though. Yeah. That run looked like Joe A for sure. Yeah, JT. Ah, yeah, I forgot about him. Damn. I'm glad he back, though. Yeah. That run game going to be crazy. Yeah. I'm going to pull up. Coach is back black again, so I'm supporting. Me and Dr. Umar will be in attendance.
Starting point is 00:38:16 You said back black. Never mind. We got him here. We came here. No, no, no. I'm just saying. I'm talking about we got a quarterback. We got Dr. Umar and Anthony Richards. Y'all got more of what I like to see.
Starting point is 00:38:25 You feel me? More of my people. What's my boy's name, bro? Seth. What's my boy's name? Man, I don't do it. He going to say, what's my boy's name? Is that his name?
Starting point is 00:38:35 Because I be saying it. It's a raggedy. That's crazy, man. That's crazy. I can name you a whole bunch of girls. I've been watching girls my whole life. What's my guy with the VCU? I always say his name.
Starting point is 00:38:46 Mo. There you go. Shout out to Mo. I seen your tape the other day. Mo can really hoop. Nah, for real. Nah, Mo is special. For real, he can hoop.
Starting point is 00:38:54 All right, so obviously, if you got to run a five at the wild with your teammates, who you pulling up with? Oh, shit. Mo. Yeah, Mo for sure. Not Speed. No Speed. See, we're not. Not Speed. I know Speed.
Starting point is 00:39:06 Hold on. See, we're not doing my guys. Have you seen Speed mixtape? No. In the shirt again? No. Nasty work. We're not doing my...
Starting point is 00:39:13 We're not doing AJ like that. Don't know who was Speed, bro. Let A-Rich pick your fire, bro. We're not doing my guys like that. Yeah, get your fire. Get my fire. All right. Fire.
Starting point is 00:39:23 Let's see. I got to get Mo. Of course, I'm in there. Probably get Julian. Julian the shooter. Okay. Shout out to JoJo. Neat.
Starting point is 00:39:35 Shaq don't hoop. He's not on the team anymore, sir. Oh, okay. Yeah, I don't know if Shaq hoop, though. Two more. I get Dallo. Okay. I'll get that low. Okay. That low hoop.
Starting point is 00:39:49 One more. Let me see. Ayer, he left you off. See, he left you off. Z is a football player. For sure. He'll tell you that. For sure.
Starting point is 00:40:00 I think he'll tell you that. But speed, so where he can hoop. I'm not doing my guys like i mean yeah the fifth could be speed he claims such a hooper so why not we're gonna see you as mixed six four six four center so my nigga at center said some screens for a rich who speed play that's a hell of a pick and roll. Speed. Speed really.
Starting point is 00:40:26 Speed. Speed could hoop. My nigga, he was rusty. He got a nice form. Speed, he just rough. That motherfucker basketball looked like a Nerf ball
Starting point is 00:40:35 on my nigga. So it was a little. How he was shooting before he was shooting it so hard. But I feel like he could be a Rasheed Wallace
Starting point is 00:40:43 is out of pocket. Like a Ben Wallace. Yeah, Ben Wallace. Okay, yeah. You call him Ben Wallace instead of Rasheed? Yeah, that's a hell of a a – Rasheed Wallace is out of pocket, like a Ben Wallace. Yeah, Ben Wallace. Okay. You call him Ben Wallace instead of Rasheed? Yeah. That's a hell of a – No, Rasheed is a finesse.
Starting point is 00:40:51 My nigga's a bruiser, so he'll hold the paint down for sure. For sure. But obviously, man, you playing in the division now, AFC South, it's a lot of crazy robberies going on. I know what I'm saying. I've been seeing a lot of talk going on. Yeah, we talking about it for the city. We don't matter if we're co-spending or not.
Starting point is 00:41:08 Niggas not talking down on the city. I see CJ out there. You know what I'm saying? He had a good year last year, popping and shit. But I want people to forget. You know what I'm saying? You on the way back. And it's up this year.
Starting point is 00:41:18 Yeah. I've been seeing the talk. I know you're not going to do that, but I want to know. We got one like that here in the city, too. Let Speed do all the talking. You ain't got to say nothing. Speed on that here in the city too let's speed do all the talking you ain't gotta say nothing speed on that yeah i love it though but one thing i want to talk about is like you know i'm saying um the best part about this age of sports is like y'all having a platform to be able to speak if y'all want to and stuff like that yeah um i think that that's absolutely fire for the young quarterbacks especially like for him michael
Starting point is 00:41:42 parsons to be able to talk about the games because to hear y'all perspective from stuff is so dope. Like even with you, to hear your perspective about stuff that a lot of people wouldn't understand who actually know the game,
Starting point is 00:41:53 I think it's fire to see. Like how was it for you to be able to, you know what I'm saying, like to see that type of representation there because a lot of times it was up to the media
Starting point is 00:41:59 to say stuff and they can say a whole bunch of stupid stuff and you just be like, I just had a bad day. I just had a bad game. Nah, I like the fact that we're able to speak up. We can say how we feel and people are like, okay, cool.
Starting point is 00:42:12 I understand that now. Whereas before, you couldn't really say too much because they're like, oh, he's complaining. Oh, he's a diva. He's not focused on football. He's not focused on his job. But it's like, nah, we're able to speak up. We get to talk. We get to nah, we're able to speak up. You know what I'm saying? We get to talk.
Starting point is 00:42:26 We get to say how we feel and people respect it. Hell yeah. So it's like, I like that. Yeah. Might as well start you a podcast. I'm about to.
Starting point is 00:42:35 Y'all boys getting me right. For sure. Hey, listen, bro. We got you. We right here. Say less. For sure. Hey, coming soon.
Starting point is 00:42:43 Yeah. You see what's happening right here. I don't know if you know my man right here. Be here. He real chef. You know what I'm saying? He get to it in the kitchen. Yeah,

Starting point is 00:42:58 the pregame. I'm just, we'll tap in, but I'm saying, you want to throw one? I ain't, I ain't going to get you ready for the season. I'm just we'll tap in but I'm saying you wanna throw one like I ain't I ain't gonna get you
Starting point is 00:43:07 ready for the season it's a live season I'm after the season and return feel me no meal prep no meal prep what you be making

Starting point is 00:43:40 We talking about chicken, bro. We do like, I know, but I'm saying we. I had to say it. It's the horses, bro. I told you the white laces make niggas act we I had to say it it's the horses bro I told you the white laces make niggas act different bro nah it's the black shoes pasta
Starting point is 00:43:51 ain't got nothing to do with the laces we do pastas grilled lamb chops just lobster tail shit like that so yeah
Starting point is 00:43:58 we tap in for sure I gotta ask I always ask them this how does it feel you know what I'm saying for walking around, like, especially in this city, to see people like wearing your jersey?
Starting point is 00:44:09 It's crazy. It don't even feel real sometimes. Like, sometimes I forget I'm in the league, and I got to tell my homies, I'm like, bro, I'm in the NFL. Like, it don't even feel real most of the time, but I definitely appreciate all the love, for sure. Yeah, for sure. I'm definitely getting me a jersey.
Starting point is 00:44:23 I'm going to need you to sign it, though. I got you. Yeah, appreciate that. Yeah, I a jersey. I'm going to need you to sign it, though. I got you. Yeah, appreciate that. Yeah, I got you. I'm going to tap in, bro. I only got two football, well, one football jersey, but I'm going to have two.

Starting point is 00:44:43 He was a kid that grew up in our AAU program. He's a big fella. Big Thanos is what we call him. Played for the Browns. I got his jersey. He still ain't signed that shit. Damn, DeJuan, you out of pocket.
Starting point is 00:44:55 He go out with me and all types, so still ain't signed the jersey. But I'm going to have you over, so I rock with you, man. I got you. You know what's crazy? You was tagged on the Hawk site. They was just like, you know what I'm saying,
Starting point is 00:45:03 what made you a fan of the hawks and they was just like my first jersey was a Jeff Teague jersey and I was like hell no that's crazy nah a bunch of people
Starting point is 00:45:10 was tagging me that and I was like dang bro I'm old cause bro was 25 now I'm like your first jersey was mine bro what's going on
