The trio kicks things off with laughs about Tony's self-proclaimed flirting addiction before discussing life on the road, why Tony hates taking vacations, and the routines that keep stand-up comedians grounded. Kev shares the biggest lesson from 22 years of marriage to his wife Melissa—learning to stay married to the current version of your spouse instead of the person you first met. He explains how couples must grow together instead of expecting each other to stay the same. Tony reflects on his previous marriage and dating again. The conversation shifts to relationship advice, communication, and compatibility as the comedians discuss politics, religion, raising children, and why politics has become a relationship dealbreaker for some people. Tony explains why he asks tough questions early while dating and why honesty from the start matters. Kev explains why he's even more attracted to his wife today than when they first met and shares why marriage has made him more successful by allowing him to focus his energy on family, creativity, and business instead of distractions. The group also debates loyalty, infidelity, and Tony's infamous "Flirt McGee" persona, with Tony revealing how years of flirting stemmed from childhood insecurities and a desire for validation rather than physical cheating. Kev opens up about the lowest point in his marriage during the pandemic and how couples therapy completely transformed their relationship. The conversation expands into the business of stand-up comedy, where Kev and Tony discuss following Nate Jackson's career early on, how Kevin Hart changed the perception of modern comedy tours, why Katt Williams selling over 2 million tickets is historic, and how legends like Eddie Murphy paved the way for today's comedians. They also compare comedy tours to concerts from artists like Beyoncé and Michael Jackson, explaining why stand-up can be one of the most profitable forms of live entertainment.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Our hometown is
not a test tube. 90 miles northeast of Nashville, a battle for the future of America, plays out
in one small town. Developers with right-wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land.

This time I talked to scientists, biopunks, kermudgens, blues owners, super seniors,
and Goa's top cryotherapy lab to try to understand this obsession with living forever
and what it means for all of us.
And I get into a bit of trouble along the way.
I'd say probably start bone smashing.
That doesn't work.
To make it look more defined.
They say it works.
I don't know.

How you doing, sir?
Yeah, you know, I got you.
Go ahead.
Go ahead.
Go ahead.
Go ahead.
Go ahead.
Now, you know you got to come and sit on the couch and talk about me.
I appreciate that, man.
I had to get it out.
Man.
I had to do it.
Bro, thank you guys for stopping by.
I know you get me.
I see you guys, y'all all over the place.
You have your own thing that you guys doing, your stand-up comics.
And I know when you're a stand-up comic, bro,
You're on the road all the time.
It's nonstop.
You're on the road.
So this is your busy time with you.
I don't know if you took your vacation.
You don't take no vacation?
I'm surprised.
I'm big vacation.
Tony is no vacation.
That's me.
Yeah.
That's me.
Don't shake hands, man.
No, man.
Let us work too hard.
Let us bond over there.
Come on, man.
Tony ain't, I know Tony about 13 years.
If it ain't a show attached, he ain't going.
Yeah.
He ain't going.
What the last time you went on vacation?
Like vacation to me.
is being at home and not changing clothes.
When I say, vacation feels like people say, well, I'm just getting away.
I don't feel like I need to get away from anything.
Yeah.
Everything that I want to do is right here.
I want to be at home.
Because travel is stressful, man.
Travel is stressful.
But once you get there, but then it's itinerary.
We got to do this.
We got to do that.
I got to do it.
I don't want to get there.
I want to stay right here while.
Yeah, you want to celebrate.
I mean, you're.
Yeah, man.
Tony, don't think you do.
I'll take the water.
I'll take the water.
Oh, yeah, man.
That way I'm included.
To all the success.
Yeah, man.
Click clink, clink.
Appreciate you.
Yeah.
Let me know what you think here.
Oh, that's smooth now.
Oh, this real smooth.
Yeah.
This right here?
Oh, man.
This.
Well, if you ever want to start drinking cognac, Tony, the thing is that you never put it on the tip of your tongue.
You put it on the tip of your tongue.
You put it on the top of the palate.
The back.
That's what everybody knows.
You ain't know that.
I just put it on the tongue with my tongue with everything.
Is that what this thing?
I did.
I didn't know.
It actually does taste different than you put it on the back.
Yes.
Really?
Yes.
Why is that?
We're going to talk me.
We're going to talk about.
I'm going to get you a Somalia and make you a cognate, Connoisseur, and all that.
Okay.
So appreciate that, guys.
You know what?
I want to start on this episode because I think you're two guys are two most, far-most authorities on relationship.
You're married.
You're not married.
When you were you ever married?
I was married before.
Okay.
You were married before.
So, Kim, let's start with you.
Okay.
What's some of the keys to a hell?
healthy, great relationship.
I think, you know, I've been married for 22 years now.
22, wow.
22 years.
I think if I could only give you one thing,
you've got to be married to the current version of your spouse.
Oh, wow.
I met Melissa, I was 16.
We were both 16 years old.
And we dated, started 16 and never broke up.
From 16, I'm 43, never broke up.
That's a good run.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Straight four years from high school.
We got married after the junior year of college.
That's a Yukon women's basketball one.
Gino-oriented, but I'm married.
But she is both the same person but also vastly different.
Life changes, small changes, like, and you got to be up to date with that person.
So there's, you know, you play football, obviously.
It's like if you got Tom Brady year one and you see him year 15, he's a different player.
Very different.
Right.
So you've got to adjust how you play, how you see the game.
Marriage is very similar.
Like, she looks exactly the same.
but she is not the same.
And neither am I.
But so when they say, you're not the person that I married,
right?
They're not lying.
She is not the person I'm married.
But she's the person I'm married too.
Oh, okay.
Right?
And she has some character.
Because imagine who you were at 16.
Yeah.
Right.
Just think about how you saw the world.
Like, nobody is the same.
You should not be the same person.
You're wasting a lot of your life.
At 16.
Yeah, you're wasting a lot of your life.
Yeah.
Or 20, 24.
Like, she changed through major life things.
You know, we finished college.
When we get married, she changed when her parents got divorced, when she had our first son, had our second son.
You know, all these things.
Yes.
And also relative to who I am.
Right.
You know, so it's about constantly making room for that person and learning.
So you got to evolve.
I got to evolve.
The person you married yesterday.
So it's true.
The person you married yesterday is not the person you walked up with today.
And that's not, it's not all bad.
It's just that like you change, you know.
When we first were married, Melissa was very like, we both grew up very, very, very true.
So she was like submit and all that type of stuff.
She was doing stuff that her parents taught her.
And then she realized like, no, that works for them.
You know, if I don't speak up, I might start to resent you,
so I don't have to start saying some stuff.
So I was getting away with murder.
Good amount of years.
I was like, man, this is what I'm talking about.
Where's the meatloaf fat, man?
And then the whole sudden she's like, I ain't no meatloat.
I'm like, what?
I got the call.
The Bible said, meed-loves needs to be on the table 17 feet.
So, Tony, you were married.
How long were you married?
I was married nine years.
Nine years.
Yeah.
And now you're any chance of getting married again.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
I'm down for it.
You down for it.
Yeah.
So what's hold on?
I mean, you had a nine-year run.
Uh-huh.
How long have you been divorced?
Shoot, that was 2012.
I was divorced.
So you've been divorced 14 years.
Married nine, divorce 14.
Okay, so what's the hold of?
You ain't met nobody that.
Well, I just met somebody recently.
Okay.
It's still early.
Early stage.
Early stage.
Okay.
But I've always been, like, down to remarried.
My wife got remarried.
My ex-wife got remarried.
Okay.
To another Tony.
What?
His name is Tony as well.
His name is Anthony Charles.
Seriously?
Yeah.
Same first name, middle name.
And he bald.
Damn.
He white, though.
Oh, damn.
Shout out to tone, man.
Toll, hold on.
Hold on.
I hear another Tony, child.
But you boy, you love a bad impression.
She went all the way to the other.
Damn, Tom.
He looked like Jason Kidd white.
She was even surprised.
She was like, wait.
You're not mixed?
She's like, no, I'm just white.
But she was already.
He looked like Jason Key.
Jason Ken.
Jason Ken.
Because he looks like Jason King.
He died.
I didn't think about it when I met him, but now I should see him for the mask.
Young Jason King.
For sure.
That's hilarious.
You were a man for nine years.
Are you looking for some of the similarities that attracted you to your first wife?
What are some of the characteristics that you're looking for if you were to get married again?
What are some of the characteristics that you're looking for in a woman?
For me, it's just like easy flow.
I'll say that even by my ex-wife.
I don't really have any notes on my ex-wife in terms of like, oh, this wasn't working out.
It was all me that messed that up.
And so she's great.
Like, I've always loved her as a human being, still do.
And so just an easy flow.
Like, you know what I'm saying?
I don't like doing a lot of fights and a lot of confrontations because, like, when I beef with somebody, I just shut down or I'd rather leave.
Right.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm a better, like, writer when I'm upset.
Okay.
Because, you know, when you verbalize, sometimes you say stuff in the moment, you know what you mean.
Yeah.
But people can't unhear that.
You know what you're saying.
You know, and so it sounds childish.
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
Why are you texting me from the other room?
It's like, I just want to get it out clear without you cutting me off, without my eyes watering.
Yeah, you know what I mean?
The thing about it is.
Right.
I ain't like how you talk to me.
I'm like what you said.
It's okay.
I'm after meeting someone at 16.
Like you said, you're very different at 16 than you are at 20.
than you are at 25 and 30, and here you are in your 40s, right?
So you're a very, very different person.
What are some of the keys to a successful marriage to be able to, because you met as teenagers.
Yeah.
The 20s is one thing, but a teenager?
Yeah.
It's like, I think you got to leave, you know, you got to leave room for people to become who they are and navigate that.
Like, I think it's like, you don't, you know, I can't force Melissa to become something.
I got to be married to who she is.
And it's the same for me.
And I think, you know, one of the pieces of advice that we got that we often give is like you got to marry her or him knowing some things about them will never change and some things about them will change.
And you won't you won't get something 100%.
I think that's another thing too.
I think a lot of times we expect the perfect partner.
They're going to be perfect and we go nitpick.
And it's just like, that's not life.
And nor am I the perfect partner.
Like, you know what I'm saying?
So I feel like you got to leave room for that and know that.
if I were to leave her, that next person is not going to be perfect. Neither will I. So I allow for the
mistakes, the change, the frustration. Like, I don't hold it against her. Like, you know, and I also don't,
I'm not responsible for her happiness in that way either. Like, some day she's just ain't in a good
mood. And I used to really take that person, like, what did I do? What did I do? And that would
just make it worse. Make it worse. Yeah. So now sometimes she ain't in a good mood or I ain't in a good
mood. I just allow that to be. And she allows me to be. You know what I'm saying? So I think,
You said something very interesting, Kim.
You said you have to allow that person to be who they are.
Yeah.
But also, when you go into a relationship, Tony, you can expand on this,
is that you're looking for someone that has the characteristics.
Like, I want somebody this, hide, I want somebody this,
I want somebody this, I want somebody church girl, and I want somebody this.
They're not going to have, they're not going to check every single box.
No.
But the boxes that they don't check, you have to be willing to overlook or it's not going to work.
1,000 percent.
It's like, in sports.
I don't use all my sports analogy.
I don't get to use them up.
Use them up.
Use them up.
You get a coach, right?
You get a tight end, right?
You ain't going to get Shannon Sharp and say, you block in every play.
You know you not.
You see him running, you say, hey, fat white boy, you block it every play.
Shannon Sharp go around.
You know what I mean?
So I think it's like you have to see that like, okay, this is what it is.
This is who she is and love that about her.
She's 85, 90%, what I want.
Right.
But, you know, the core things, religion we believe, politics, you know, things like that.
Like, if you don't agree on those things, it's going to be really hard to stay together.
Right.
How we're raising children.
Like, we're most of the way there on stuff like that.
But it's like, she don't like movies as much as I like.
I leave room for, let me be like, girl, I'm going to go to just this other day.
We and Tony had to watch a movie for the podcast.
We get home.
We was on the road all weekend together.
I said, hey, you want to watch this movie?
She was like, nah, I'm good.
I went to the movies by myself.
Came home.
Wow.
She's at home watching Real Housewives by her.
So she allowed that after you're going on the road.
Yeah.
Tony, your part to allow you, you're going on the road.
You've been going Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
You get home Sunday night.
You and Kev got to go watch a movie because y'all got to critique it for the Pond.
And she's like, yeah, I don't want to watch the movie either.
Y'all go.
You're like, hold on.
You don't mind me being going on.
I'll be going on Thursday.
I'll be going on Friday.
I've been going on Sunday.
I've been going on Sunday.
And you ain't really trying to, you know, get no quality time.
Because that's work, man.
It's work for us.
Yeah.
To watch the movie that we're going to talk about on the podcast is work.
And so for me, like, I've been going to the movies alone since I was 12, 13.
So this is just part of who I am.
Yeah, solo, dolo.
And so you can come with me or you can't.
So I just go.
And like, whoever I get with got to understand that, like, you know, I'm going to the movies.
You want to go?
No?
All right, I'm out.
Is there any non-negotiable?
Like, he said religious is a big thing.
How they rear kids.
They're pretty similar on that.
Politics.
Yeah.
There's something that happened in 20.
2016 that really developed.
Because it used to be, I don't care.
You could ride the fence.
You can no longer ride the fence on politics.
You're either this or you're that.
There is no way around it.
And it's caused a lot of, it's caused a lot of dissension and a lot of households and a lot of families.
For sure.
Have parted for, and I've never seen it like this before in my life.
And I've been, you know, basically following politics since the late 70s, early 80s.
Carter, you know, be upset for.
They thought he upset, but he really didn't because he pardoned Nixon.
That's why he really lost the race.
And then Reagan comes in and went, basically.
every, you know, run the table.
He did.
Nobody put up numbers like Reagan.
Well, that's when he beat Mondale.
Yeah.
He beat,
he beat.
I got more votes than Bondale.
And I was,
I was like 16.
But anyway, so is there any non-negotiables for Tony?
For sure.
Like, you know, talking to her recently,
I was just like, when we were getting to know each other,
I was like, yeah, what do you think about Trump?
And, you know what I'm saying?
Depending on that answer, I was like, nah,
I said, go where she was like, no, I don't rock with it.
I was like, perfect.
What if she just told you that, it's like,
because if you ask that question,
she already knows that you, the answer that you won't.
Yeah.
She already knows the answer that you won't.
Well, I don't like him either.
Yeah.
I feel like, if you support Trump, it's going to come out another way.
It's going to come out.
It's going to be how you see.
But you might be too far in, though.
Nah, man.
Tony be out.
I'm being out.
I'm going to be out.
He's going to be out.
He's going to be like, man.
Because one, you played me.
Who one, you said you're going to rock with Trump.
now you're showing nine man you're lied to me i'm double out because it ain't going to work man
trump is a non-negotiable yeah you know what i'm saying he's one of those politicians
which it's like how how how you rock it with this dude right you know what I'm saying so
that was like a question i would have like early on because i'd be asking the hard-hitting questions
when i started seeing some off the rip off the hard-hitting questions like i'm digging to your whole
like history like you know what though why why didn't this work out straight to what did you
do? You ain't asking what your favorite colors is?
When you get into know people, they always
make it look like the exes.
They get everything wrong. Right, right.
You know what I'm saying? Like, would you do that was
wax? Give me your whack.
Normally that comes
after you don't, you know, you ask
all the hard-hitting questions after the fact.
Then they can't take it back.
You got to ask early, man. You got to dig in.
But you also lead with your stuff too, though.
I'm vulnerable McGee. I'm coming in.
Man, I was trash.
I did this. I didn't know.
You don't want no parts of this
That's how I come in.
You don't want to come in here.
You don't want to come in here.
You're running away out the ribs.
Yeah.
I'm giving you everything out like when I'll be like,
yo, I'm still in the streets.
Like we first started talking.
I'm now here.
I'm still in the streets.
This is before, you know, we make it official.
It's just like, yo, I'm in the streets,
man, and I'm talking to other people.
You've got to leave with that.
Right.
Some people assume all your eggs in one basket
every time, not for me.
Yeah.
It was just like, yo, I'm out here.
I'm out here.
And then as I progress, I'm like, yo, I'm not out here.
Right.
In the streets as much.
I'm like what's happening right here.
I'm out here.
You can get me from out here.
You can't.
Depending on.
And here's what she said.
What?
I'm not going to tell you to come from out there.
You got to do it on your own.
Okay.
And so I was like, yeah, because some women are trying to force you about that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You want to talk to me.
You got to cut everybody all.
They don't tell me what to do.
And then I'm back out.
But she was like, hey, you know what I'm saying?
Were you ready, you come?
Exactly.
So that was more attractive to me.

Mm-hmm.
How have you been able to manage to stay?
faithful and stay committed through all the,
because she changed, like you said, she changes, her body changes.
Everything changes over the course of time.
And you are still as attracted to her at 16 as you are now in your 40s.
I actually would say I'm even more attracted to, oh my God.
She also has the benefit of staying great shape.
I don't have lost, hairline gone, stomach poking.
I look at all pictures of me, I'd be like, boy, I was something.
Yeah, she really loved.
She really loves me.
Because she got the best version of him.
Hey, come on, man.
She's getting better with age.
I'm getting heavier with age.
You know what I'm saying?
Better person, but it's softer around the edges.
But it's like, you know, we've both been through some things.
There's an amount of trust I can see with her.
It's just like, I know what I got.
Right.
So going out there, like, you could not possibly replicate 26 years with anybody else.
Know what I want to, right?
That's my friend.
We got inside jokes.
She's the mother of my children.
And also, man, I'd be seeing what on social media, the dating streets, I'll be like, man, it looked, it looked like post-apocalypse out here.
It's a mess.
The stuff people be going through, I'd be like, I don't even want to.
It makes being faithful even more rewarding.
I'll be seeing the things people post, I'll be like, man, that looks like hell out there.
I don't know.
It's like, the purge.
I look out my window like, this is what y'all doing.
Err, er, er, yeah.
Fire is going on.
People shoot.
Barrels on fire.
Baby, mama, baby, dad.
It's like, man, no, I'm.
People rolling down the street.
It's real helpful.
And she's a great business person.
She's helped me with my business.
And she's just opening up creatively and stuff.
So for me, it's just the gift that keeps on giving.
So I work to strengthen that.
Right.
Versus, and also, man, I ain't going to hold you, man.
I don't have the energy for just being out here after the show.
Man, after I talked to Liz, leave me the hell alone.
Right.
I couldn't imagine me like, I talked to her, Kwanda.
What you did?
Man, get off the phone, Quanda.
I'm going to.
My show was good last night, Quanda.
I can't say those.
Nicole.
My show was good last night, Nicole.
Tiffany, man.
I couldn't imagine repeating one thing twice.
But you did, but you did say.
You said you believe that being married has helped you become even more successful.
1,000 percent.
I think, you know, energy is energy.
Yes.
Right?
You shoot this podcast.
You shoot another one.
You can't have the same energy you have for this.
Correct.
Right.
So if I were out here talking to different women, that's more energy.
So I don't waste that.
Like, I give it to her.
I give it to my kids.
the rest is reserved for creativity.
Like I talked to her, she knows before a show.
I don't have to tell her, hey, I got to relax.
I got to take it down.
I got a show at seven.
Because I'm got to get up.
Yeah, she understands my routine.
It was funny.
Me and Tony went on tour together 2018, and I had been traveling by myself doing stand-up for years.
I didn't realize I had a travel routine.
So the first time we started traveling Melissa's like, hey, you're trying to talk and stuff.
And I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, what did you say?
So I was about three weekends, she was like, oh, you have a routine.
Like, when you get on the plane, she was like, you know,
was taking it personal. She was like, oh, I realized, like, you get in the zone for that we can show.
The moment you get in that plane, you are on low power mode until you do that show, right?
So now she's not tripping about that. She, now my exercise, I'm walking on the road. She's not like,
oh, you go walking again? Who's the hose out here? Like, she's like, have a good walk.
So you're like, I don't need all that. Was she ever, was she ever like that? Did she ever think
that you might be out there seeing somebody else? She always had to believe that. I think I've never
been a cheater type person. Like, one, I'm not a liar. Two, when I got Melissa, it was like,
oh, I'm really good. But no, it's just never been a thing like that for me. And I think,
you know, as my star has risen, I try to make it clear often, early and often. It's list,
list, list, list, list, list. DIMs, I ain't going to be in there, all that type of stuff. So I think
there's an amount of trust there, you know, like if I wanted to, you know, she's not over me
checking my phone and stuff like that. There's a, you know, there's a therapist who's like,
Good couples give each other the amount of rope.
If you were to cheat, like, you could do that.
But then I would ruin what I have.
So, no, she's never been on top of me like that.
If she says something like that, she's always joking, you know, things like that.
But for the most part, there's a good amount of trust that we've earned that we have.
And she understands me.
She understands when I, after that show, if I talk to her, when I say I'm going to bed, I'm going to bed.
Right.
And I'm literally going to bed.
You know, she got my location.
We got each other's location.
Do FaceTime?
Like, show me your room.
Let me see your baby.
I'll show my balls.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Let me see the closet.
Balls.
You put that face, Tom, it's going to be, this is what you're missing.
Every time.
She's like, we can talk on the fall because I'm going to show them balls.
Because I ain't seen you since Saturday.
You're going to see them since Wednesday.
I would start with you, Tony, on this one.
NBA young boy said, never trust a man who would cheat on his wife.
I mean, I think it's easy to say.
you don't have a wife to say that.
Right.
A lot of people out here ain't married, so I don't know if I'm with...
Is he married?
I don't know nothing about it.
I mean, a young boy got like 10-12.
Young boy ain't got older than a little.
Okay, all right, he out.
He's out of the streets.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Young boy.
Would you trust a man that cheat?
You know what's funny about that whole dynamic, right?
The bros before holes mindset kind of leads into that.
A dude will be out.
here loyal to his boys, loyal to his crew to death, willing to shoot somebody for you, smack
somebody up, do a bid for their boy, but cheat on their girl the whole time.
Yeah.
It'd be like, now I ain't no snitch.
I'm cheating with my .
You know what I'm saying?
It's just like that mindset.
There's a bitch, but I'm a cheat.
Right.
And they feel, they feel honoring that.
Right.
Yeah, I'm an stand-up dude.
You know, I got three, you know, other women besides my wife.
I'm a stand-up dude.
Right.
And they don't see nothing wrong with that.
with the cheating on your wife part, which is crazy to me.
Right.
So it's like, I get them in a sense because it's like, yo, if you cheat on, if you cheat
on your spouse, then you're willing to do anything.
But a lot of men out here downplay the infidelity and be like, no, I'm a stand-up dude.
I'm going to ride from my crew.
I ain't going to tell.
I'll do 20 years in prison, but I'm going to cheat on my wife.
But I'll do 20 years.
You ever cheated on your wife?
In my past marriage?
Yeah.
That's what caused it.
That's what ruined it.
It was, for me, it was like, I have a flirting issue.
Flirtly the other thing.
You know what I'm saying?
Flirting lead to squirting.
But here's the thing.
That's the thing.
I don't heard it in the streets.
Here's a thing.
Damn, tall you, boy.
I'm saying.
It just rhymed.
I just threw it out there.
Flurton is my, you know how some people are, I got a sex addiction.
Yeah.
Mine is flirting.
Yeah.
Flurting with no backup.
Yeah.
I'll flirt you for.
three years, never even touched you.
What?
Yeah, that's my...
You got that kind of time?
I'm Flirts McGee, man.
On the text.
I'm gonna, yeah, you know what I'm gonna tear you up?
Where we're gonna lick up?
That's a great question.
Flirts McGee?
Flirts McGee.
That was my whole, like, my whole issue.
You know what I'm saying?
And so, like, actual sex, man, you got to put the time in, you got to put the work in.
You got, you know what I'm saying?
This face turned on that just a thought.
It's a sanitary.
You know what I'm saying?
Damn, Tom.
It is.
Infidelity is unsanitary.
Don't nobody talk about that part of it, man.
It's unsanitary.
You're inside another person.
Another person's inside you.
Remember that.
And some people be going wrong in the infidelity.
Ah, Lord, Tom, come on, man.
The flirting is more sanitary.
It's wrong, but it's more sanitary.
So.
Tony, one of the more paths is trying to guilt you in these streets.
I know you're talking to anything on the camera.
Listen, man.
Zoom in.
Flurton is wrong if you're in the relationship,
but it's more sanitary.
But, like, flirting was my issue, man.
It's just Flirts McGee.
And that leads into, like, my insecurity growing up.
Like, you know what I'm saying?
Insecure about my weight, my appearance, you know what I'm saying?
So when I get, you know, female attention, it's like, oh, oh.
So the flirting excited me, you know what I'm saying?
Until I got to a certain age, was it's like, all right, man, you know what I'm saying?
I'm valuable out here.
Right.
You know, I'm attractive to some.
Get over yourself.
Right.
You was Chubbs McGee back in the day.
Just beat Chubbs and he was handsome.
You were successful with the lady in Maximum Chubb.
Right.
So I was like, what are you going?
Then you figure you shake that bag up, you're like, oh, man, they can't run it.
You couldn't shut them down.
And then when they're running, I'm running, I'm running away.
Now that I got the attention that I crave, I'm like, hey, man, watch out.
That's all you wanted.
You just wanted the attention.
I was liking the attention.
Yeah.
Because I was first McGee's minimal follow-through.
Behind every night spent making the kids' lunches, there's a lot of suspense.
Will they finally eat the veggies?
Will the pasto survive the first bite?
Will the lunchbox come home empty, half full, or come home at all?
And will you finish episode 8 before you're done slicing the cucumbers?

We host the podcast Hollywood Handbook on the Big Money Players Network.
Our show is extremely accessible to first-time listeners.
Each week, we talk to someone in show business, aka The Biz,
and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us.
Everyone has a good time, and no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our show.
We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman.
Not that great.
Actually, can you help me shape this?
How about we flip it on his head?
How about we flip the script?
What is the surprise woman?
Actually, you think is the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird.
Adam Scott, this entire time you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show.
I would never expect.
I would never set expectations for something like that to happen.
If the universe allows for something like that to happen, I'm open to it.
I'm always going to accept.
You know, Danny McBride, fine.
Yeah, it's all this fragile masculinity exuding.
I could smell it walking down the hallway, to be honest with you.
I was like, I was like, is that weed?
Nope, it's fragile masculinity.
Ben Stiller, no.
Because a lot of times out of context, people don't get it or even know what a circle is.
You know what I mean?
They're like, oh, they're so stupid.
Everyone's so dumb.
And fake.
Right, fake and also not interesting.
or just like, oh, I've got my life, I don't care about your life.
And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us.
Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally he loves the show and he wants to be a guest on every episode,
but he's just so busy.

On the new podcast Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman.
I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his
motorcycle. I chose option B. I'm Julie Pinero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say
yes without asking anyone else first. I'm on a mission to reclaim the word solita, trading the pity
for possibility. Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people and they were like,
you smiled at us. Not a lot of people smile around here. It's when you're alone that you're most
receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it. It can be. It can be
a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself.
So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip,
I hope you listen to Solita on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Our town is small taters by most standards, right? But to the people who grew up here, it's everything.
What happens when a quiet Tennessee town becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America?
Developers with right-wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land in the area.
The first thing you see when it pops up is pioneers in Appalachia.
But they weren't just planning houses.
We need cities on a shining hill that exemplify and embody the Christian way of life.
Stop right there. Is that normal?

I'd say probably start bone smashing.
That doesn't work.
To make it look more defined.

Couples goals.
When you, when you started, I mean, I don't know if you really thought about like at 16 that you thought you guys would get married.
But after you get to a certain point, you're like, you know what, this is the woman I'm going to be with.
And when you sit down and you says, you know what?
What were the goals that you guys set for each other?
And what you said, like, this is what, this is how I envision this marriage.
This is how I envision this family.
Well, I think first it was just like, you know, when we first got to,
We got married, we were still in college.
So it was like...
You got married in college?
Yeah, after my junior year of college.
Damn.
And I tried to go sophomore year.
I was like, hey, listen, the financial aid package, we get together now is going to be...
I was like, girl, come on.
Tony, they were looking scheming yourself.
You got that?
I was trying to get it.
And, man, I was being celibate.
So I was also like, come on, man.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Come on, let me see the promise land.
Okay.
You know, but we waited until after our junior year.
So first, it was just like, we want to graduate college, get a place, get a place,
get a good job. I don't think we, at that age, I didn't have like a 20-year plan.
Okay. So my dad was- Then I'm going to the same school not to cut you up.
We went to the same high school, same college. Okay. Yeah, high school, same college. I followed her to
college. I only applied to one college, one she was going to. Wow. I was like, where are we going?
University of Washington? I love these colors. Purple.
Follow her to the bank after that. First good job, follow her to born. I was like, you're making great life choices.
I'm just going to go. Everything, I'm supposed to be leading. I'm like, girl, you're doing good.
to me.
You're doing good, man.
I'm going to go to college.
I'm going to go to college.
You know what I'm going to?
I'm going to figure my life out.
I'm figuring it out with you.
Yeah.
I didn't lead her until we moved here.
That was like the first time I led my wife somewhere
was when we moved to LA.
I was like, okay, I kind of probably should take over and do some stuff.
Did you tell her you flying to the job?
I was like, where are you going to school?
She was like, I got a scholarship to you dub.
I said, man, it'd be funny if you never told me.
He just showed up on campus.
What, damn?
You're doing that.
I work here.
Yeah, Cam stopped this woman, let's see.
She in the student center, all of a sudden, Cam walked in.
What do you do here?
Hey, girl.
I got the hoodie, y'all.
I'm with your job.
What you're doing here?
That's crazy.
Wow.
But, no, seriously, it was just like, okay, we got to get good jobs, right?
And then we had our son.
We got to buy a house, you know, so we bought the house and all that type of stuff.
Then it was like, we got a job at Boeing.
It was like, okay, we can put some money away from the kids.
It was like, honestly, it was like every two, three years we were looking down the road until we had kids.
until we had kids.
Right.
And it was like, we gotta prepare for them.
18 years from now,
we gotta have somewhere for them to go to college.
And then when I, my son booked a movie here in LA,
while I was working at Boeing,
and that's when I was like,
I was always doing comedy and stuff like that,
but in Tacoma, that never even seemed like a feasible life choice, right?
Nate Jackson was out there killing,
he had a room, Tony was doing comedy,
I was following him, but it was like,
that was a life y'all live.
I just do comedy on Thursdays.
But once I came down here, I was like,
no, I got a, like, I felt like I can change
the trajectory of our lives.
So I wrote a full plan about moving to LA.
Here's where we're going to stay, kids in school, to do with our house.
Some of this plan was terrible.
I was like, we're going to let our house go to foreclosure.
Because I'm going to get to L.A.
and we're going to make enough money to buy a house and cash.
So I submitted a plan.
She was like, why don't we just rent the house out?
I was like, oh, yeah, that's a brilliant idea.
That's a better plan.
Yeah, because we were upside down 40 grand.
I was like, man, forget that house, man, I'm going to get cash.
So now that house back up.
Right.
So now we got equity in that house.
Again, listen strikes.
Yeah.
Like, this is why I won't never leave her.
like, she's great.
But yeah, I feel like now my main goal is that 20 years from now, when my kids are coming
home for Christmas, I want them to come back to a house where their mom and dad are still
there and they can bring whoever they love over for Christmas and still be excited about
doing that, you know, because her parents are divorced.
So it's just like a headache, man.
Thanksgiving and Christmas.
You got to split it up.
You got to go.
Man, and nobody want the third holiday.
Like Thanksgiving or Christmas.
is it, we got three sets of parents.
We got her mom, her dad, and his new wife,
and then we have my parents.
So whoever don't get Thanksgiving or Christmas,
they like, you don't love us.
Mother's Day.
You get Mother's Day.
You get Mother's Day.
Because nobody really care about Father's Day
and both Father get left out.
The rest of hours to be open on Father's Day.
They'd be bigger over than empty.
You can't get nowhere.
Father's Day.
They'd be like, yeah, come on, man.
We didn't have no customers.
We were home at Christmas.
When you come in the restaurant for Father's Day,
the staff is in there smoking.
They'd be like,
I was telling the guy, oh, we got customers, y'all.
Cut the oven on.
I didn't know somebody was coming.
How been Father's Day.
Sit down, man.
Take the seat off the table and just sit right there.
You think about it.
You see athletes, they're holding up sign.
Happy Mother's Day.
Love you, Mom.
Yeah.
Nobody helped with no Happy Father's Day.
They love you.
Father's Day.
Man, you never remember.
No, I don't know how many care.
You never remember.
Oh, yeah.
That's what I go.
But there's this thing that happened about 15, 16 years ago.
It started creeping.
and now it's full-blown.
It's called the Internet.
Yeah.
And Internet makes people think that you have to be perfect
because the people on the other end of the Internet
presents a perfect life.
You being married for 20-plus years,
you being married before in a relationship now,
you realize it's anything but perfect.
Oh, no, hell, no.
How hard is it?
Because I think a lot of people succumb.
Man, my life really messed up.
I've helped me thinking, I've got to change my life
because these people on private jazz,
they're buying burkins, they get all this.
I was like, damn, how do they live it like that?
But it'd be raggedy on the underneath.
And they'd be lying, man.
They'd be lying.
They'd be lying.
They'd be cheating on each other.
They'd be fighting.
They'd be fighting right after they post that little pick of them in the mirror.
Yeah.
With their little summer fit on, Buddha.
They arguing right after that.
Trust.
And then you see them on the shade room with that squiggly line in the in between.
They didn't broke up, y'all.
But they were just booed up in the long end.
Squiggied.
You got squiggly line every time.
Every, every week.
I can never be on the shade room with a squiggly line.
You never get me.
You'll never get me a shade room with the squiggly line.
I've never put couples on a pedestal.
Never, never.
Even if they've been together for 40 years, I will still see something like.
Me and Lisa ain't no pestle.
Nah.
It's great, though.
But you see us.
Well, y'all see y'all.
I see y'all like close.
You know what I'm saying?
This is great.
That's something that he knows you have a personal relationship with you.
so he sees you on a more intimate level
than seeing somebody on the other end of a photo
or what they got on Snapchat or TikTok
and some foolishness like that.
Yeah.
Because you don't know what's going on
under the hood. I'll just be like,
that's good for them.
Have Melissa ever said, well,
they went to the
Cayman, they went to
the Marfi Coast, they went here.
They'd be going everywhere, though.
Watch out.
Y'all be going everywhere.
We could be going everywhere.
They went to Sweden.
We did.
This is big way.
Just because.
Whoa, whoa, whoa,
is that kind of money in comedy?
What?
Comedy is big money, Ken.
Big, boy.
I'm about to write me a seat.
You get into this live show business, huh?
Boy, them jokes don't buy the house or two.
Nate Bargatz or whatever.
Man.
Just broke a record for selling over two million tickets for his tour.
Two million.
Two million.
Tickets.
And Shane Gillers just showed.
75,000 scenes.
When you guys got into comedy, could you imagine somebody selling
75,000 tickets to one of men.
Absolutely not. Not for comedy.
Not in one night. Never.
I was thinking Michael Jackson.
Yeah.
Football field was...
I didn't think it was possible until I saw Kevin Hart do it.
Yeah.
I was just like...
Kevin Hart was the first time I was seeing like a modern comedian.
I was just like, wow.
Yeah. Football saying...
And they're selling out four or five consecutive nights as an MSG.
That's like musician numbers.
Yes.
You don't see comedians usually reach the...
Outside of Eddie.
You don't usually see the comedians...
I mean, there's no comedian ever who could do a stadium tour or who has done.
I'm not saying...
Full stage insurance or like Beyonce.
You know what I'm saying?
But no, trust me.
That live show business, them jokes, boy, be here.
It's great money, man.
It's great money.
And you got to think about the overhead, too.
Yeah.
Like, stand-in-a-comedian.
A lot of the time, you need the stool and the mic.
Yes.
That's it.
We ain't got to bring a background singers.
No roading.
Background, special effects.
They got pirouled.
They got trucks coming in.
You know what I'm saying?
They got to pay for all that out the artist's pocket.
Yeah.
But comedian, man, I just, yeah, I just need a stool.
What's up, y'all?
It's a good sound.
Check y'all. We see you all the night. This tour I'm on right now,
Greene sucks. Me, my tour
manager, Greg, and Josh,
photographer, and even another comedian.
Three, well, two n-mexican.
And he's making a documentary,
so it's like, that overhead
is very low for stand-a-comedians.
The jokes are very high,
and we don't take, we don't have to rehearse
like the way musicians do. You've got to go
three months in advance. We can work and
rehearse at the same time. With no dancers.
Yeah, we... No dances.
necessary.
You got the fun that you ain't got to have no special outfits?
Nope.
A jean t-shirt?
Boy, my suitcase, three black jeans, three merch shirts.
Six draws, six socks.
If I'm selling merch, it'd be the same shirt I'm selling.
It's a uniform.
I only want to think about it.
Inspect the gadget.
Literally.
Well, how do you deal with arguments?
Because it's hard for me to believe that you and your wife had some knock-down
argument, a knock-down drag-out arguments over 22 years.
So, not knock-knock-out arguments over 22 years.
So not knock down dragout, but we have had arguments.
Okay.
I firmly believe if you don't have an argument with somebody, I don't think you're actually, if you don't have a disagreement.
You're not communicating.
You don't, yeah.
Or you're not reaching a deep level.
I think friendships as well.
Like me and Tony have had disagreements.
Like, we ain't, but there's a way to argue with respect.
Correct.
Maybe Melissa was into it.
Not disagreements.
Like, yeah, when you was talking about the food.
The food.
I pulled you to side.
I was like, Tom, man.
Then you said Ray Jac can fight.
Man, that's not the same thing we talk about.
I said an argument.
And he didn't have been prove me wrong ever since I said that.
He was like, I'll show you what's what, Kha.
But no, we haven't had knocked down drag guy, but we don't had some arguments where it's like,
we've never disrespected each other, but we have had to have some conversations.
I remember one time we was having a tough argument in a restaurant.
The waiter kept coming over.
Y'all wasn't, hey, man.
We argued right now.
Like, we ain't tell them.
Yeah.
But it was like, we was talking tough.
And I remember Melissa was like, I need you to eat.
more vulnerable, more honest and just like, be honest.
And I was upset.
My toes was like this.
And I said, I could be honest with you.
And she looked at me and was like, oh, you think you're going to be honest without being kind?
She was like, I have found ways to tell you the truth without ever disrespecting you.
I need you to find ways.
Wow, yeah.
That's barred.
Yeah, she barred me up.
Yeah.
I told you she made great choices.
I was like, you're right.
You're right.
But there was a time I wrote about this in my book.
Thank you going to be honest without being kind.
Yeah.
She was like, you ain't going to just talk to me crazy.
Like, because I ain't never done you like that.
A lot of people can't separate the two.
Right.
To be honest, you got to say, well, not that you mentioned it, I don't like what you got on.
And you have gained weight.
Yeah, and she was like, I've never done you like that.
And that also helped because I was like, I was in my feelings.
I was frustrated.
I was like, you were about to go.
You were about to be like, oh, I can hurt your feeling.
But you ain't never going to hurt feelings more than a woman can hurt feelings.
Yeah, yeah.
And brother, are you open that door and walk through it if you want.
Yeah.
You're going to find something she believed about you in 2006.
You'd be like, hold on, wait.
You didn't believe in me.
So I didn't want to go through that.
But there was a time we was arguing
tough during the pandemic.
Everybody was going through in the pandemic.
Yeah, yeah.
And we, man, our tension was thick.
I was upstairs.
She was downstairs.
You could feel the tension through the house.
And I remember she was like, I'm going to a hotel.
It was like 11 o'clock at night.
She was going to a hotel.
And I was up in my, in the room,
wide awake, 11 o'clock.
And I heard the garage door open.
And when I tell you, Shannon, I was like,
don't leave.
ran down the stairs, draw.
I didn't say you read that with your draw.
No, I had no time to put no pants on.
She had just backed out into the driveway.
I got in the car and I was like, don't leave.
I was crying.
Like, it was like a 90s R&B music video.
Yeah, was it raining.
It was raining in my life.
Okay.
I tell the story, it is now raining.
It wasn't raining, but now it is raining.
Right.
And she was about to leave.
She was like, I need a break.
And I was like, no, because I felt like if she, if she was able to leave
and checking at that hotel, my mind would have made that.
situation infinitely worse.
Yes.
I would have been like, she left me.
You know, it would have been like the ring goblin.
Yeah, I'm like, no, yeah, niggas, she don't want you no more.
It's the beginning of the separation.
1,000 percent.
I can just leave at any time and then the leads get longer and longer and longer.
Yes.
The next thing you know.
Yes.
And when her parents got divorced, one thing that they both said that, and they didn't
even tell me, she just brought, she just mentioned, they both said, I wish the other
would have fought for me.
So I was like, let me fight.
Let me fight right now.
Because if she gets away, it's going to be like a thing.
I'll never
Hard to reel it back in
It'd be hard to reel it back in
So we stayed out in that car
For like three hours
Talking in your draw
In my drawers
Bally hanged over the truck
That's a funny setup man
In that Winnie the Pooh style
Fight Boys' life
Now come on now
What can I do
To just
Just like that
Why the tears are no drones
You know I love you
I'm sitting in this car with no drawls
With no draws
I didn't care if the neighbors
Saw me I didn't care of the ring camera
They could put me on TV Z I was like
Girl don't
Believe.
And we got therapy after that.
That was instrumental.
I meant to say that earlier.
We got therapy.
At first I was like, man, therapy,
like, if you go to therapy,
then you admit something's wrong.
Right.
So I was like, I don't really want to do that
because that means we have an issue.
I don't think we'd still be together
if we didn't go through therapy.
It allowed us to understand each other.
It allowed there to be an intermediary
to kind of like the relationship was our therapist's goal,
not Kev being right or list being right.
But when you're arguing,
you really argue for your point.
Yeah.
And it's hard and harder to see their point.
But yeah, after that moment, that was kind of like the rock bottom, like 2021, went to therapy for like two and a half years.
And it's been, I don't want to say smooth sailing as if nothing's the wrong, but we've been able to navigate those moments a lot better with those tools you learn.
You said some very interesting about being right.
And my therapist earlier, I went to therapy once with my girlfriend.
And she asked, she asked me, she said, are you arguing for right or arguing to be right?
She said, they're both right, but there are totally different reasons.
That is good.
Yeah.
You know what I said?
I told her, you know why I'm arguing.
You be right.
Be right.
Damn, for right.
To be right.
Everybody want to be right.
That's for sure.
She said, no.
She said you got to argue for right.
Yeah.
If you two against a problem.
For sure.
Right now is you two against each other.
One time we had a, I used to get speeding tickets all the time.
I got a speeding ticket one time.
Melissa was like, I ain't even going to pay this.
Man, I'm going to show you a lesson.
I was like, but we share the same insurance.
So like, if you're on paying, we both are premium going on.
She was like,
Dang, you're right about that.
And that's the, like, we're on the team.
Right.
Get me together, but you, you ain't going to get me and you don't lose.
Right.
And we both have the insurance goal.
But, yeah, the relationship has to be the goal.
Right.
And if I'm wrong, I'm okay being wrong because I know my main goal is to stay together.
Being okay, admitting, that's the problem.
Yeah.
Because you said, Tony, you said something early on.
You said, I messed this up.
A lot of people like, now put that on the other party.
You said, it was all me.
It was all me.
It was all me.
Accountability.
And a lot of people don't want to accept accountability, which is the key in any relationship.
If I'm wrong, you've got to be mad enough or woman enough to say I'm wrong.
Yeah.
Yep.
For me, it was just like, it was all me.
Like, when I think back, when I tell people about, you know, my ex-wife, like, I've been in a relationship between my divorce and now I was in a five-year relationship for a while.
And I told her, even then, I was just like, yo, my ex-wife, you know, I ain't got no notes.
You know how some people want to hear, I want to hear that you hate your ex.
You don't talk to that.
Well, they did to you.
Right.
But we share kids.
So we always had to, you know, stay in touch.
As I was just telling her, I was just like, yo, Ria is cool.
She's a great woman, you know what I'm saying?
I love her.
I love her family.
You know what I'm saying?
I messed up that, you know, marriage.
You know what I'm saying?
No notes.
Like I said, no notes.
I got nothing bad.
Not to say that she's perfect, but it was just like, we could have worked that out had I
not just, you know, fumbled it up.
And so I'll be like, accountability is big for me.

On the new podcast Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman.
I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle.
I chose option B.
I'm Julie Pinero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first.
I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility.
Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people, and they were like, you smiled at us.
Not a lot of people smile around here.
It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is, and not the lies you're sold about it.
It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself.
So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip,
I hope you listen to Solita on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or a real show you.
wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, this is Hayes Davenport.
And Sean Clements.
We host the podcast, Hollywood Handbook,
on the Big Money Players Network.
Our show is extremely accessible
to first-time listeners.
Each week, we talk to someone in show business,
aka The Biz,
and try to help them with their careers
and see what they have to offer us.
Everyone has a good time,
and no one gets mad at their publicists
for letting them do our show.
We've had a lot of great guests
like Sarah Sherman.
If the universe allows for something like that to happen.
I am open to it.
I'm always going to accept.
You know, Danny McBride, fine.
Yeah, it's all this fragile masculinity.
Exuding.
I could smell it walking down the hallway, to be honest with you.
I was like, is that weed?
Nope.
It's fragile masculinity.
Ben Stiller, no.
Because a lot of times, out of context, people don't get it
or even know what a circle is.
You know what I mean?
They're like, oh, what's a state.
Everyone's so dumb.
And fake.
Right.
fake and also not interested
or just like, oh, I've got
my life, I don't care about your life.
And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they
are without us. Oh, and by the
way, Will Ferrell told us personally
he loves the show and he wants to be a guest
on every episode, but he's just so busy.

Our town is small taters
by most standards, right? But to the
people who grew up here, it's everything.
What happens when a quiet
Tennessee town becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America.
A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment.
God need men to rule.
and decides to fight back.
Do not use my hard work to sell your bull-h-h-h-hue.
They're not just opposing what's being planned for here.
Our hometown is not a test tube.
They feel like they're standing in opposition to an entire administration.
Guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you?

I'm Mungeshit Together, and I'm back with a new season of the podcast Skyline Drive.
This time I'm diving into a rabbit hole of peptides, organoids, blood boys, blue zones, and brain replacement to try to understand what this longevity obsession is all about.
And what it really means to live forever, for all of us.
I learned about some rad science.
I can make a brain for you, and then we can test what draw is the best for your brain, as opposed to his brain.
Here are some hard truths.
I would expect Indians to age faster, but I did not expect it to be almost a four to five year acceleration.
And get myself into a world of trouble.
I'd say probably start bone smashing.
That doesn't work.
To make it look more defined.
They say it works.
I don't know.
Listen to Skyline Drive, How to Live Forever on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Right.
The divorce, you go through that, you say using a relationship in between.
dying then for five years.
And Ocho and I was joking as like, you break up time to heal.
Yeah.
You know, those saying, the quickest way to get over one woman is to get right back on top of another.
Yeah, man.
Sit in yourself.
Be by yourself for a while.
I remember from my divorce until, so I got divorced in 2012.
I got a relationship in December of 2017.
Damn.
Yeah.
So it was like, you know, I was talking to women here and there, but it wasn't like,
I didn't introduce anybody to my sons until 2018.
Six years?
Yeah.
Wow.
I didn't want to keep bringing women to my son.
Like, hey, kids, here's Katrina.
Then you did you introduce that mom?
He's Natalie.
You know what I'm saying?
Here's Denise.
You know what I'm saying?
I ain't want to be that type of father.
It's Katrina Wilson.
Yeah, here's Katrina Wilson, y'all.
And so I was like, nah.
And so then when I finally got the relationship, I was like, yo, I told my sons it was a big deal for me.
I was just like, hey, y'all.
You know what I'm saying?
I got to go.
girlfriend, yo.
They was like, what?
All right.
So I was, I was nervous.
Right.
And so I never wanted to be that type of
Rolling Stone Pops where it was just like, man,
dad got all the women.
Because kids be watching.
They do.
Because I remember my son said to me, he was like,
the women would speak to me at the supermarket.
And he was like, man, dad, dad,
you got all the women talking to you.
I was like, I didn't know what to do with that information
because I was like, I didn't want him to think I was out here like,
yeah, baby, girl.
Because everything was on the up and up.
Right.
I wouldn't so so I would I would I would take that span to just be like you know I was talking to women here and there but I was in no hurry to lock something else now
so then being her broke up at the top of 2023 like January but we still lived together until about April of that year but we're still cool we still friends and stuff and so from then until like this past June I wouldn't you know in a relationship so I'm the time I can stay single
for centuries or I could be in a relationship.
That's the kind of person I am.
I don't need to be in a relationship.
Single, single or single with benefits
or other places?
Well, you know, I'm in the streets.
You know what I'm in the streets.
He made it feel like he was single thing like he was a monk,
like he was a Shaolin mom.
It's all he'd be baking.
He'd be in that mom would be making.
Compared to what I could be doing,
I'm kind of monkish.
And not to say, but the access
that I have, you know, I'm visible.
Yeah, and so women like funny.
Women be putting their bids in.
Oh, they'd be hitting me all the time.
I'd be like, man, Lee, I don't, he don't want you.
I don't know.
Tony Steelevigian, I got some meat.
That doesn't make sense.
What you mean?
You got somebody said that.
I was like, what did I read that?
He would have to be in the scenario.
She was just throwing stuff out there and get my attention.
Compared to what I could be doing, I had sex one time in 2023 for the whole year.
What?
Once.
You're proud of that time?
One session.
You hung your meat back on the cool, right?
I'm just letting you know I could just shut everything down, you know, if I want to.
You know what I'm saying?
But it was just like, I don't need to be up under somebody at all times.
I don't need to be in a relationship.
But I'll take a relationship.
If I'm feeling you, if it's organic, I'm down.
But, you know, some people just like, I got to have somebody.
Why would I be the relationship got to be organic?
Why can't have no pesticide?
No, I mean, watch you out, man.
You know what I can I be?
I have a little pesticide.
That'd be best-knit.
Pept-tide, yeah.
Come on, man.
Hey, you've got a fish, you see the chicken,
you see the chicken, not the chicken thighs.
No, man.
When you were growing up, the chicken thighs like this here,
now they're like, they're like, they're big as hell.
The church is, it looks like a back.
This is a chicken back.
No, it's just the thigh.
But, like, yeah, so I'm that type.
Like, you know, I could be,
because sometimes I would scare myself
because I can be like, yo, I could,
you really get comfortable being by yourself.
You know, that's the next question.
I'm worried, ma'am.
The caro-wey-year-s single,
the more difficult it is to be in a relationship.
Do you both agree?
I agree with her.
You wouldn't know.
You're not, you mad your first girlfriend.
And followed her.
Yeah.
Followed her.
Yeah.
Followed her to college with her job.
I work here too.
You know what?
That would be considered stalking right now.
I did.
I followed her to the bank as an industry and then I went from Bank of America to the bank.
She was working at.
Like I was like, man.
You stalking.
Yeah.
But you agree with the carer, that the longer you're single, the harder it is to be in a relationship.
Yes.
I'll talk about that on stage.
I was telling to Carra, I was like, look, man, I'll talk about that on stage.
I ain't stealing what you did on Club Shayshay, but that's true.
The longer you stay single, the more comfortable you're getting your routine, your peace.
It's peaceful with you by yourself.
I'll be in that house, Shannon Shaw.
I'll be in that house.
It's peaceful.
It's me and my cats, bro.
Yeah.
Chilling.
I haven't been to Toney's house.
We are great friends.
It's been three years, two years?
I moved in there in 2020.
So February 2020 is when I actually
Okay, so almost two years.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'll just be in there, man.
And so you get comfortable in your...
I'll be eating the same thing every day.
I'm like a machine.
Yeah, see, that's me.
I could be saying.
You know, you get a girl coming in.
Why are you eating this every day?
And I'd be like, this ain't going to work.
This ain't going to work.
Why you sleep with the night light on?
This ain't going to work, man.
Why you got the TV on?
She asked me one question.
I'm like, this one girl came over, man.
She was asking too many questions.
I was like,
I told him the text message later, man, you had too many,
you was nitpicking too much.
Yeah, yeah.
Why don't let your cast in the room?
You ask your police type question.
Now, I got to get you up out of here.
This ain't going to work, man.
Let your cast be in the room with you.
I can't sleep with the light on myself.
You can go home?
You sleep with the light on the door?
Yeah, I'll sleep with the night light.
What, you scared?
Yes.
I'm scared of the dark.
I'm scared of the dark, man.
Zoom in.
I'm scared of the dark, y'all.
My favorite thing's about Tony.
He's 6, 3, 2, 35, big hands.
I got a gun and everything, but man, the supernatural, man.
It's bulletproof.
Man, that man, I can't grown-ass man, sleep with a nightlight on.
I'm scared, dog.
You ain't scared to the dark?
Hell now.
Oh, man, you know what I'm saying?
That's because you play football, man.
Listen.
I'm scared to the dark, y'all.
Not a, not a time.
So when you cut the light off in the kitchen and go upstairs, you don't run?
No.
Hell not.
Oh, man.
I walk briskly.
No.
Once I cut the light up, I can feel whatever's in there coming for me.
Why don't you just, how about this here?
How about have it tuck the night light off, but have it motion light.
When you get up and move, the light pops on.
That's what I need.
Yeah, I need to install that.
But I just be leaving the stairway light on.
Then I got a light on in the downstairs.
And I got a little light on in the kitchen.
Oh.
How much?
How much electricity would be like $2,000?
I don't got solar panels, man, so I don't want to hear nothing about nothing.
Listen, y'all, there's something in that darkness, y'all.
It's coming for you.
When the TV cut off and I wake up on accident before morning,
and I'm like, oh, hell, no, I got to cut it back on before it get me.
Oh, that mercy.
The darkness, man, something in there, care.
That's so funny.
I don't know you had more than one light on.
I got that night light in the room right in the corner.
It's a vibe, though.
It's like a lamp.
No, it ain't a loud.
Yeah, it's a vibe.
Oh, you got a lava lamp then?
No, man, that's the 70s, man.
60s.
Lola lamps make me think of musty people.
You know what I'm saying?
Once you get the tie-dye going and the lava lamps,
the odorant is to a minimum.
So you be in the dark.
Yeah, I can't sleep with a light on.
I mean, I had cousin that they need to sleep with the light on
and the TV.
Yeah.
I can't do that.
I mean pitch black.
I need a dark, dark.
So you're in a hotel?
What you do?
When I'm in the hotel, you usually got the last.
Lamp going.
You're going to sit my knife.
I don't even watch the TV.
I open the laptop.
Like, yeah, man.
Lanterns.
Yo, that's so funny.
Can I get a paper towel?
You're sweating?
I'm fat.
The fires on.
I don't know I have little grease.
That fried chicken.
That light light thing made me laugh.
My light be old, man.
I didn't know you had multiple lights on.
Which is that night light in the corner.
Somebody else in this room is scared of the dark.
No.
You scared of the dark mustache?
You scared of the dark mustache?
You scared of the dark?
That's so funny.
I grew up in the country where sometimes we didn't have money
to pay the light bill.
See, that's your origin story.
Because you didn't have no choice.
So you was dipped in it.
Yeah, yeah. You can go first, Kemp.
Do you believe social media is ruining relationships?
You know what it is?
I do think it has a downfall because I think we have access to much information and we compare too much.
Yes.
Because I actually have been with Melissa prior to social media being as powerful as it is now.
So early Facebook and stuff, you really, it was just words, you know, wasn't pictures and all that stuff.
But now DMs and so much video content and all that type of stuff, I think you always feel like there's something else on.
Just like TV, you have so many channels and Netflix.
There's always something better on.
You could be three channels.
Yeah, brother.
ABC, NBC, CBS.
Then Fox came.
Oh, Fox.
Yeah.
And they Fox started out with just news before they got in living color.
Harry with Chilin.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Cable was like 60 channels.
Yeah.
Like, that was a lot.
I felt like there was nothing on then.
But now we have a thousand channels and all these platforms.
But yeah, I think we compare so much.
I think you can get lost in thinking something's better over there.
Right.
And you just have access to so much more information.
So I feel like it can hurt you if you ain't like focused.
You know what I mean?
So for me, it's like I try to minimize those distractions as much as possible.
That's why I don't have a lot of DMs.
I don't check my DMs.
I only want to go out there and see what.
Like, because I want to be clear, like, I'm very faithful, but I'm also like,
I'm a man.
I'm a man.
So I set my program up so I don't fall.
Right.
It's not just like, I love my wife.
I'll never miss a fat butt, fat butt.
I ain't crazy.
Yeah.
Tiddies is titties?
Yeah.
I see tennies.
Even though Tony, Tony,
Tony don't even like the picture.
Tony don't like no hoo-ha pictures.
Huh?
Tony don't like no coochie.
You don't like the hoo-ha pictures.
Oh, if it's just the coochie by itself.
That's that's perfect.
I'm not feeling that.
Yeah.
Sign me up for the hoo-ha jubilee.
Don't do that the gospel.
Don't do that gospel.
Signed it.
Don't sign them up.
That's not the jubilee that was talking about.
That's for a jury.
Cam and I are in agreement.
Yeah.
We want the pitchers.
Just the koochian.
Man, ain't nobody just sitting the hoo-hoa picture by itself.
And the tight, the vignette.
That's what I'm talking about, her tight coo-cha,
ain't nothing else in the background.
I need the pan out.
I mean, what you want, a lava, lay up, a shade?
No, I want the body.
A trophy.
I want the body.
If she's saying just coo-cha, she just go,
Chiquet.
I'm like, come on, man, I want to see more.
What, you want to see a full body talking?
I want to see eyes and tini's.
I want to see ass and titty.
Ass and titty.
This big booty.
And face.
When you by yourself, you by yourself, Toad.
No, I'm not.
It's a community of dudes.
I've seen him in the comment section.
Really?
There's a lot of dudes.
I was more surprised.
A disembodied coochie pick is just not the mood.
Because the frame goes through your mind.
It might be catfish.
It could be catfish.
The coochie itself, I've never been like,
the coochie itself.
I want to see your body.
Like, if you send me a guy,
gallery of picks.
Yeah.
Like in the boobs and then you,
and then the coogee is in there as well.
That's a nice mixture.
That's a nice collage.
You're setting the whole thing.
You're setting me off.
Yeah.
But if it's just coochie and nothing else,
come on, man.
Kim, come on.
Say it to me.
Boy, let me tell you what.
You can sit it to me first class.
I don't got to see nothing else.
I'm going to be like,
yeah, for the Kevin on stage tonight.
You see me?

On the new podcast Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman.
I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle.
I chose option B.
I'm Julie Pinero and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first.
I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading the pity for possibility.
Every time I tried to be alone, I kept meeting people, and they were like, you smiled at us.
Not a lot of people smile around here.
It's when you're alone that you're most receptive to the world as it is and not the lies you're sold about it.
It can be a time where you push your limits, change your mind, or wake up to a new version of yourself.
So whether you're a solo travel veteran or you're too nervous to book your first trip,
I hope you listen to Solita on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or
wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, this is Hayes Davenport.
And Sean Clements.
We host the podcast, Hollywood Handbook
on the Big Money Players Network.
Our show is extremely accessible
to first-time listeners.
Each week, we talk to someone in show business,
aka The Biz,
and try to help them with their careers
and see what they have to offer us.
Everyone has a good time,
and no one gets mad at their publicists
for letting them do our show.
We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman.
Not that great.
Actually, can you help me shape this?
How about we flip it on his head?
How about we flip this room?
What is the surprise woman who actually you think is the straight man is actually the one who's acting weird?
Adam Scott, this entire time you've been expecting Adam Sandler to come to visit the show.
I would never expect, I would never set expectations for something like that to happen.
If the universe allows for something like that to happen.
I'm open to it.
I'm always going to accept.
You know, Danny McBride, fine.
Yeah, it's all this fragile masculinity.
Exuding.
I could smell it walking on the hallway, to be honest with you.
I was like, is that weed?
Nope, it's fragile masculinity.
Ben Stiller, no.
Because a lot of times, out of context, people don't get it
or even know what a circle is.
You know what I mean?
They're like, oh, what's a state.
Everyone's so dumb.
And fake.
Right, fake.
and also not interested or just like, oh, I've got my life.
I don't care about your life.
And a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us.
Oh, and by the way, Will Ferrell told us personally he loves the show
and he wants to be a guest on every episode, but he's just so busy.

Our town is small taters by most standards, right?
But to the people who grew up here, it's everything.
What happens when a quiet Tennessee tax...
becomes the front line in a battle over the future of America.
A podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment.
God need men to rule.
Great.
and decides to fight back.
Do not use my hard work to sell your bull.
They're not just opposing what's being planned for here.
Our hometown is not a test tube.
They feel like they're standing in opposition to an entire administration.
Guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you?
Listen to Our Town on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
I'm Munga shit together, and I'm back with a new season of the podcast, Skyline Drive.
This time I'm diving into a rabbit hole of peptides, organoids, blood boys, blue zones, and brain replacement to try to understand what this longevity obsession is all about and what it really means to live forever for all of us.
I learned about some rad science.
I can make a brain for you and then we can test what draw is the best for your brain, as opposed to his brain.
We are very different when it comes to that.
Yeah.
Did you all see?
this, what a woman said, that men
are no longer persuasive.
They don't ask you out on date anymore.
They don't pursue anymore. If the first time
you tell them you're not interested in the man just
go on about his business. Yeah, that's right, right, we're going on
about our business. I ain't about to chase you down,
chase you and get a job at your bank
and go to your college.
I ain't about to do all that, man.
But she already let the cab know she was
interested. He was just like,
hey, you know what I'm saying? Well, I'm
out. I'm out. I'm out.
He's all in his car.
I'm all ready. Yeah.
But I mean, but I'm not.
What do they expect?
No means no.
No means that's what we're talking about.
And I'm stalking now.
I told him not to call.
I told him I wasn't interested.
Exactly.
Now, I'm feeling uncomfortable.
I ain't about to make you feel nothing to get uncomfortable.
Once you tell me you're not interested.
That's it.
I'm taking you at your word.
Cool.
I can't be an answer to that.
Used to be me and beg, you know, hey, the key, they're going to be Keith sweat, your old key sweat.
I'm not doing all that on the time.
I'm begging if we already established something.
Right.
I got no problem begging you back.
I'll be in your car with just my draws on, too.
It's like, come on, now, we got to work this out.
But if we just started, you know, if I ain't feeling it, then I'm like,
she ain't feeling me like that, moving on.
Right.
I'm out of that.
What they want us to do, Shan?
I, I've seen this on social media.
I've seen this, like, change.
And now it seems like it's swinging back.
Like, it was like, men don't do this.
You're doing too much.
And I think men is like, man, you don't want to be considered, like, overly pushy or
weird or none of that stuff.
So then men pulled all the way back.
So now it's like, man, everybody.
Don't nobody say nothing.
Yeah.
What's going from us?
I think you, I'd imagine, I ain't out in them streets,
but I imagine as a woman, if a man showed interested,
you would have to immediately let him know that you are also interested.
You got to give us something to work with.
Yes, yeah.
Give us an indication.
They don't want to be blasting.
They're posting your text messages online.
You don't want to be getting blasted.
Right, exactly.
And I'm text message McGee.
Yeah.
You got me dead at the racks on the screen shot.
I barely get on the phone, but I will text you all day and night.
So you're texting not a talker?
Yes, thousand percent.
I'll get on the phone.
If I'm really feeling you, I'll get on the phone.
But all that talking every day.
You FaceTime?
Yeah, I'll do that.
But it's rare, though.
It's like, it's a rare occasion.
Even the girl I got now, it's like, we talk on the phone.
We've talked on the phone for hours.
But it'd be like, you know, we'll do a six-hour phone call.
Six hours?
Six hours.
We've done six, eight.
We don't sleep.
We don't slept on the phone.
You're 16.
I fell to sleep.
No, I ain't sleep.
I'm sleeping, though.
Woke up.
She was going to work and everything.
I was like, man, I passed out.
She was still on the phone.
Damn.
Now that happened, I did, in college now, with my college girlfriend, I stayed on
like three or a half, four hours.
But not now, to home?
49, you see what I'm gonna?
49, I did all this, you know what I'm saying?
But the thing is, it's a rare event.
It's not like we talk on the phone every day.
I hope so.
Yeah.
But I was charged by the minute.
You remember they used to charge the cell.
You speak by the minute.
Boy, that phone is being a little.
I was about two thousand, three thousand.
When you was on those hours out of this broad day.
Well, you know what?
10 p.m.
I was meeting the pre-down.
Yeah, at night it was good.
Once you come around at that 9 a.m.
Call me at 7.
Listen, we arguing at 7.
They used to pay charge for text, too.
They did.
Yeah, we weren't just talking.
Once I got unlimited texts and Sky was the limit.
Drake says he hates the term tricking.
He just wants, he just enjoys doing nice things for people.
He got the money to do it.
Yeah.
He got chicken money.
If I was worth $500 million, I'd be doing nice things, too.
Would you call it tricky?
I'll just be like, for me, it's all organic for me.
Like, if I know.
So he means this in just the space of women, right?
Yes.
For me, what I've done for women that I'm cool with,
I might buy a pair of shoes just on the strength.
My grandpa used to say, boy, don't buy a woman a pair of shoes because she's about to walk out your life.
They say that.
But this is what you say about.
They do say that.
I'm real conscious.
And definitely ain't buying no sneakers because she's about to run up out of your life.
At least we're healed, you can hear her leaving.
Yeah, he's like, wait, I heard the skiskeke.
But I just did it because, you know, it was nothing.
And so, like, you know, it was just genuinely on the cool.
And so in Drake's stature, you know what I'm saying, he got unlimited bread.
Yeah.
You know what I'm saying?
He'd be like, what is his goal, though?
Like, my goal is just like, you know what, man, why not?
You know, but for him, it might be like, let me do this.
so I can get the buns later.
I don't know what his intentions are.
Oh, that's not your objective?
No, it was like, we talked about that,
but it wasn't like I was intentional about acquiring the goods.
Oh, okay.
I was just like, you cool as hell, you know what I'm saying?
But you know that could help, though?
Maybe.
It could, you know what I'm saying?
It could.
Man, you had to.
He said, he'd think he fooling the kid.
I don't know.
Maybe I.
It could.
You get a Gucci pickback.
You send them shoes.
I just don't want the coochie by itself, you know what I'm back up.
Put the shoes next to the coochie.
When she said she don't want the shoes by itself, she need a purse.
Once you start asking me for stuff or feeling like you entitled to something, I will fade the hell out.
You fade the blackout.
For me, it's all about when people don't ask.
That's what I'm more willing to hook you up.
That's I am.
But once you be like, if I feel the slightest hint of entitlement,
Yeah, that's how I am.
I'm like, I ain't got it.
I ain't got it.
That's a weird setup.
Don't ask me for nothing.
Kev, you've been talking about this a whole while
that you and your wife built everything that you have right now.
You and her built this together.
Y'all went to college together.
Unfortunately, that wasn't her playing.
That was your plan.
Y'all went to college together.
You know, you guys relocated together.
You established this foundation.
Is that, I mean, was that always the plan to build this thing together?
Or it just kind of happened by happenstance?
I think, I don't know.
I think that's the beauty of being together for so long.
Like, we didn't have this as an idea.
When we first got together, it was just like, good job,
make sure the kids can go to school.
And then even when I started doing content, she worked a regular job.
She wasn't not like, oh, I'm going to be doing content with you.
She worked at Aerospace Place.
That was like a thing I did.
And she supported me.
She always went to our, in Washington.
We used to do plays.
She went to our stage manager.
But she had no desire to do this at all.
Even when we was on our first tour, I still worked at all deaf.
She still worked at her aerospace place.
So me, we do the shows.
And Tony, you know, to hear we have the week off,
this would go to work and I would go to work.
And then, you know, I think as our life changed,
she was like, okay, well, now going to work and touring's kind of time.
Actually, her job closed.
I told her to quit her job.
I was like, quit your job, girl.
Oh, you're on big bank care.
Yeah, come on, baby, girl.
You know I got two below Mississippi tonight.
You know we go.
We're going to be all right.
I got you.
And she was like, nah, man, health insurance.
And I was like, you know what, we do need.
Hell this shit.
Yeah.
And then her job just a little while long.
Yeah.
And then her job closed down.
So she was like, okay, I'll do this.
But she never had any desire to be an influencer.
But I think, you know, over the years, she's become more a part of the business that we built.
She's always there, but I think we've been intentional about talking to it.
She also saved, she, her business acumen is equal, if not better than mine in some ways.
But her, her gut for people is much stronger.
Right.
She can read people a lot better than I can.
So, you know, I lost a good amount of money not listening to her.
Like, good bread.
Yeah.
Had I just listened to her would have saved me a good bitch.
Yeah.
But it was enough that I started listening.
How does she hit you up without I told you so?
She didn't.
Oh, she don't.
And that's the word.
Quality woman.
If she has me forever.
Yeah.
She has it and I told you so.
That's the biggest joker ever.
He got that drawn four on you.
Oh, every time.
She got the draw four.
You know they got that draw four 50.
Yeah.
She got the no mercy.
She gets a known mercy.
Somebody throwing draw 50 now.
This is over.
It's over.
Game over.
Game over.
That's a great quality, man.
No, but yeah, she like, so now
we work together.
It's like she's my consigliary.
So we work really well together.
And like she's literally writing a movie now.
This is a person.
Yeah.
Like, this is not a thing I would ever saw.
And she's like good at it.
The one thing about her is she don't slack on anything.
Whatever she's good.
She's a research.
She's watching movies.
She's reading screenplay books.
She's watching YouTube.
She's watching math.
masterclasses on screenwriting, like she don't want to do bad at anything. So she knows, like,
Kevin on stage is important to me and what we build. So she's like, I don't want to embarrass you.
I don't want my script to be on there and you in it. And people are like, he just let his wife do that.
So she's like, let me make sure everything's on the up and up. So for that reason, it's like,
we absolutely are building it together. But also we built it together because when I first started
in stand up, we had two little kids. She stayed home and let me go chase that dream.
So when I was going on Thursday night, just in Tacoma, Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night,
she made sure the boys were good every night.
She let me chase that dream.
And she didn't have like her version of that.
Right.
And I'm saying?
So now that she's doing that type of thing, it's like, okay, go do your thing.
She went to take a flower cutting class and all type of things she's interested.
And it's like, yeah, you absolutely go do your thing, especially as our kids are going, transitioning into college.
Our youngest son just starts next week moving out 3,000 miles away to the other side of L.A.
So it's just, you know, it's tough.
It's tough for us.
So now this is another act.
It's like now parenting ain't her number one thing.
It's neither of our number one thing.
So now it's like, how do we refine ourselves?
Because parenting has been out of our 22 year marriage, parenting has been 20 years of it.
The main priority.
Pick the boys up, daycare school.
Now they both got cars.
Yeah, soccer.
And now we're still parents, but not as active.
Not his hands on.
Yeah.
So it's like, okay, we want to go to lunch, what you got going, what you're doing today.
So it's like refining the version of us.
that we have now.
So that's why it always feels fresh.
Because I'm always like, we're always making sure
we are married to the current person,
the current version of our person
as life changes around us.
When did we get so wanting to put everything out
on front street?
Social media, I gotta show you our meeting dinner.
I gotta show you I'm on vacation.
I gotta show you I'm in my car.
I gotta show you I'm at my dinner table.
I gotta show, have we always been like that?
And now we have a platform to allow everybody else to see it?
Have we always been that?
We always been like that.
Yeah.
When we was in sports, prior to social media, it was, I'm on varsity, you ain't.
Yeah.
I'm a letterman, you ain't.
I got three years letter, you ain't.
I'm Division I won scholarship.
You like, I got this car.
You know, I didn't have no car in college, in high school.
Kids got, I got a BMW.
Yeah, we always wanted to flex.
Social media just made it more efficient.
Now we get flexed.
Yeah, for sure.
We all wanted to flex, though.
Yeah.
Yeah, we always, matter of fact, I went to, I had a different.
shirt on today. I had a white shirt on. I went to lunch by myself, spilled some spaghetti sauce
all on my shirt. Went to buy this shirt at the Dior store. Yeah. How much was this shirt?
$500. 600. See? It was $7.50. It was what? 750. Man, we doing Club Chesh.
The team shirt was 7.5. It was 7. He showed up with 7.50. You showed up at 7.50.
Tony got 34 of these shirts. Oh, yeah. 50 of these jeans. This shirt was $49.
Pants, $49.
Tony, Tony's all black.
For sure.
I don't know if I've ever seen you.
I think I might have saw you in some jeans one time, but most of the time, you're in all black.
Yes.
I got seven pairs of these exact same pants.
I got nine of these.
Yeah.
But $750.
Wait, right, right.
That's not the point of story.
Yes.
So I go to the Dior store.
Seven.
I am killing time because I want to be on time.
Remember Tony was 30.
Yes, yes.
Yeah.
I don't know where we get this 330.
Tony was 30 minutes late.
I was like, I'm going to be.
I created a time in my brain.
Nobody said that.
No.
In my mind, I'm like 3.30.
I was texting him like, man, I'm good.
He's going to be there at 325.
I was like, why?
I'm proud of myself.
This is 325.
I'm killing time.
You're wasting time.
So anyway, I go to the Dior store.
They was like, oh, would you like to go to the Root restaurant?
I was like, oh, cool.
I'll kill some time up there, get some coffee and a little dessert.
And they had a Dior fork.
And I was like, I'm going to put this on the gram.
And then I really had to ask myself,
Why?
Why?
And I know I just want to flex on somebody.
Yeah.
I was just being the nigga, you can Dior, like, but it ain't like, and I just didn't do it.
Right.
I went to do it and I was like, look, man, put this down.
Like, you don't even have good intentions.
And I couldn't get the fork and focus, so I really couldn't flex.
Because you couldn't see Dior clearly.
And I was like, and that's what I thought about it.
Right.
Once I couldn't get it.
Yeah, but I realized.
You couldn't flex that.
I only am making the story.
You wouldn't even know this Dior.
You don't recognize it.
I mean.
750?
But that's the price.
I mean, that would help, Tony.
I mean, if you look at it, you see, I says Dior for this.
You see, man?
7.50.
Yes.
For a T-shirt.
Yes.
Dior, though.
But the point is, I ain't have good intentions.
You know what humbled me from flexing at an early age.
What did they?
I used to flex in Chicago.
I remember by flex, I got some new pro wings from Payless.
Yeah.
I was flexing those.
I used to be show off McGee.
I got a dynobot, Transforming, Dinobot.
It was the triceratose one.
Couldn't wait to take it to school, flex, show off.
Teacher was like, you can't have no toys in school.
Give me that.
She put it in the closet.
Somebody stole it from the closet.
Oh.
I was like, man.
You never got it, never got it.
Never got it back.
Didn't stole my shit.
I flexed my bike.
Dude was like, yeah, let me ride that around the block.
I never saw them again.
I was like, you know what?
Dang.
I'm never flexing again.
Ever since all that?
That's why I don't flex nothing.
You show your house, they're going to, your house gonna be gone.
The only reason I was.
At least everything in my house was because I could get some tax.
Oh, yeah, you make content of it.
But just to show or just to show, y'all, no, man.
But I calm down on that.
Like, I don't want, I don't want to open my, the one thing I learned from social media
as a person with big platform, like we all are, you go get dragged for stuff without trying.
Correct.
Right.
But I don't want to open myself up to it.
Yes.
So I'm not.
You open yourself up and you can't, that, if somebody was like, eat the rich, he
wasteful any of that stuff, which still might happen because I'm saying it here.
But I have invited you into that part.
So the funny thing is people are like, you share all your life.
I really don't.
No.
I share the part that I want you to see.
I share less and less and less year over year.
You know, people say this all the time.
Boy, if I had that, it's either for you to say what you wouldn't do if you had money.
I guarantee you when you was a kid and somebody told you spent $7.50 for a T-shirt, you say, you out of your mind.
Yeah, he's saying it right now.
Yeah.
He's saying it right now.
That's what I'm saying.
That's the thing.
But when you, you,
but you bought things
now that you have money
that you never thought you would have bought
when you was 16.
You got 400 pair of shoes.
$100 at the time.
You got $7 at $100.
But I knew at an early age,
I want to have a lot of shoes.
It's the same thing.
$700 pair of shoes.
No, hell no.
But I never, I never was like,
I want a $5,000 pair of shoes.
I didn't say that.
I'd be like, man, that's ridiculous.
$750.
How much your shirt costs, man?
It's a, I don't know, my assistant purchased it for me.
I would say $150,000 maybe.
But that looks like $150.
This does too.
But this, this looked like, this looked like 700.
It looked like we just making merge to sell this weekend, put that flower on the chest.
This is you know you know, he don't know.
I don't know.
The people who want to know about it.
The people watching, they know what they see, that DIYR.
$750.
Before tax.
Before tax.
And they brought me sparkling wine when I was waiting to get it wrapped up.
I would have been in here in the tank top.
Let me tell you something, shangles.
You got to tear these holes from the rip.
But you're going to take no shit.
Yeah, I'm scared in the dark, but I got the shotgun out and back.
And I got a mule.
750 is crazy.
I got that often, man.
You know what I'm saying?
This concludes the first half of my conversation.
Part two is also posted, and you can access it to whichever podcast platform.
You just listen to Part 1 on.
Just simply go back to Club Shay-Shay Profile, and I'll see you there.
Hey, this is Hayes Davenport.
And Sean Clements.
We host the podcast, Hollywood Handbook.
Each week, we talk to someone in show business
and try to help them with their careers and see what they have to offer us.
Everyone has a good time, and no one gets mad at their publicists for letting them do our show.
We've had a lot of great guests like Sarah Sherman, Adam Scott, Danny McBride, Ben Stillard,
and a lot of other big shots that wouldn't be where they are without us.

On the new podcast Solita, we share the messy reality of traveling alone as a woman.
I can wait four hours for the next bus or this random dude is offering me a ride on his motorcycle.
I chose option B.
I'm Julie Pinero, and I travel by myself because it's a rare space where I can say yes without asking anyone else first.
I'm on a mission to reclaim the word Solita, trading for.
The pity for possibility.

Our hometown is not a test tube.
90 miles northeast of Nashville, a battle for the future of America, plays out in one small town.
Developers with right-wing ties have purchased hundreds of acres of land.
We need cities on a shining hill.
This is our town, a podcast about what happens when a small town becomes the site of a social experiment and fights
back. Guess you didn't move in on a bunch of dumb hillbillies now, did you? Listen to Our Town on the
IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I'm Mangashitogler, and I'm back
with a new season of my podcast, Skyline Drive. This time I talked to scientists, biopunks, curmudgins,
blues owners, super seniors, and Goa's top cryotherapy lab to try to understand this obsession with
living forever and what it means for all of us. And I get into a bit of trouble along the way.
I'd say probably start bone smashing.
That doesn't work.
To make it look more defined.
They say it works.
I don't know.
