That's why you got to find out who's for you and know who you are. Because otherwise we're wasting each other's time. I'm a nice guy.

I mean, I ain't no punk, but I'm a nice guy. But if you want to tussle and argue and all, boy, when I tell you. You know. Man, some people do. But see, I grew up. I think people fight in my relationship. No, but I think people grow up like that. I grew up in a peaceful.

home. My dad told me, he was like, I remember one day, I wanted some Jordans or something. He was like, let me tell you what, son, I don't have money for that. But what I do have to offer you is a peaceful home. Me and your mother don't argue. You ain't ever seen us throwing no things. We ain't cussed each other out. You come home to peace. And from that moment, I was like, you know what, you're right. He swindled with you. I let you cuss mom. He's a woman. He swimmers Jew beautiful. That was devil's bars. That was queen. He was like, what I can promise you is peace. He was like, you're right.

Peace. It worked on me. He walked on with the ragged and he sneaker's own luck. Walk straight to that Burger King in Fort Lewis and apply for a child and bought my own Jordan. But I've been trying to replicate that ever since. I want a peaceful house. And that's what we have for our kids. Remember my son was telling me, you know, he was like, my son had went to like a school retreat.

Yeah. And he came back and they had like all these sharing moments. And he came back. He was like, hey, I got to thank y'all. Like, I ain't know these other kids. they're like, my dad's abusive and he's smacked me across the wall. We're throwing,

our kids were like, hey man, my parents are nice. I don't really know what to say in these moments. Right. So I think I've raised kids like that too. Sure. And if you weren't, and I'm not even saying that's problematic,

but you often want to replicate what's normal to you, even if it's not right. Right. It is normal. Bussing, cussing, arguing can feel like regular life. Yes. So if it's too quiet, now it's like,

this feels off. Yeah. Why don't you cuss me out? Because that's how a lot of kids grow up. For sure. They grow up in chaos. They think that's normal. Yeah.

They bring chaos into their relationship. Yeah. And they pass it down. Being abusive, the way you talk to your kids. Did you hear this? That, I don't know who said it, but they said stepfathers are the guys that single women date. They wouldn't talk to him if they were single. So now he'll step.

Because you didn't want him now when you were single. Right. But now you got a couple of kids. Yeah. And you can't get the guy that you really won't. The guy that you really wanted You had them kids Were druggy over the coast

you get the guy to look like Norbert my dad might be that guy I didn't think about it until now my mom had three kids she met him he was military he played the saxophone oh yeah he got benefit he got insurance and yeah yeah yeah yeah

he had to be in the closet He got a B.A. Get a B.A. L. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're good. Yeah, you, yeah. I take care of you and them, kids. How you doing? I ain't got no money, but what I promise you is peace.

Yeah. She was like, I'll settle. Yeah, found good to me. Hey, and maybe made 30, 40 years. Still in the game. She still ain't worked. Still in the game. I'm going to call my dad after this.

Who was she with? Tell me the other. Who was the chump she was with before you? Who drug over the colds? Who druged mom over the coals? I'm going to call my mom instead. Name me the last guy. You think she's going to tell you?

Yeah, she'll tell me. My mom don't play. She'll be honest. She's, she'll be honest. Did you hear what Mark Monheel said? He said that he's not his wife's type. Could you marry someone that's not your type? Everybody keeps saying they ain't got no type.

But I think we have a type. I think so, too. I don't know what my type is, but I know I got one. Was he talking about physically looks-wise? I guess he's, I could be a combination. Could be physically, could be, I don't know, maybe he's a PhD, obviously, he's a doctor. Because I think there's two different things. You could be somebody's physical type, but not really personality type, but vice versa.

Correct. So I don't know which one he meant. But now I want to know which one would hit harder for me if I wasn't a type. Like, could I move forward? Could you move? Could you even find out somebody's personality if you weren't physically attracted to him? I don't think I could. I don't think I could either.

The physical attraction is going to get me through the door first. Exactly. I'm shallow. Visually, I like beauty, man. Everybody is. You know what I'm saying? I like beauty. I'm a tourist, man.

I like her personality. She got into beauty. Well, I got to flip her inside out there because I need to be able to see what I'm looking at right now. I'm coming in visually first. And then when we talk, I'll be like, yo, I like the person. Yes, yes, yes. But the Faye's going to get me in the door. For sure.

For sure. I don't think I could. I think Melissa's absolutely my type. But people are going to lie. They're going to get mad of us. They're going to say we shallow. At least I can admit it, though. But I think everybody, it's hard for me to imagine.

You're not physically attracted to someone. I'm not saying it's got to be, I'm not saying they have to be a model on either scale. You're right. But the likelihood of you cannot be physically attracted to someone. And still, I don't. I want to like what I say. Yes. And there ain't nothing wrong with that, man. I want to like what I see. Then when I dig deeper, I'm like, yo, your personality, your integrity.

Right. That just adds to what I initially saw. Yeah. You got to learn that as you talk to somebody. But like, if I felt like, hey, I wasn't your type at all, I just won you over on pure. That would be hard to stop at you. If I win you over on pure personality, yeah. And my child, man.

I need you to look at me and be like, tone could get it. Yeah. Before, before you even knew. happens. Yeah, I need a hint. Yeah, you got to be, I got, yeah. Because I know, I know some women are attracted to intelligence. I know that. And comedy. And the mind and personality, yes, they say that all the time.

But at the core of it, I need you to at least look at me and be like, but there have to be some level of physical attraction. Exactly. Now, I'm not, I'm not saying that he has to be Tyson Bankford. I'm not saying she has to be a model. But there has to be some level of physical attraction. You got to be beautiful to me. Yeah. Like, you're some beautiful to me.

I think she's beautiful. That's it. But even if nobody else. thought so. That wouldn't matter. I feel it. Yeah, but I, but I, yeah, I don't, I, I think that initial attraction is what, like, makes you stop there. Even if she could bring you peace, you weren't attracted to her you, yeah. Yeah, well, she was like, hey, I'm peaceful. I'd be like, hey, man, it's actually terrifying. Let me be your own peace.

You're scared the shit out of me, man. So, no, I, I, definitely in the dark. Yeah. What about a woman's past? know her past? You want to know a past relationships? How many guys she's been with? Are you cooler? You want to know, Toll? I'm going to ask those. It's part of the hard-hitting questions. Toad. You know she's going to lie. I ain't been with four guys. She's 40 years old. I don't think everybody's going to lie. Here's how you know. Here's how you know if a woman is lying

than that. Right. When you, if the truth you're given don't hurt your stomach, then it's like, now, this is too sugar-coated. You need to find out some stuff to be like, ooh, you did that? Oh. Oh. What does she tell you 10? How old is she? You got to factor in, you got to factor in how old they are. Yes. How long they've been single? All that.

You do realize. You got to see this. There's a study that says women in their 20, between, I think it's between the ages of 22 and 28 have had more sexual, more sexual partners than a woman in the 50s. That's crazy. And I saw another study It was like the average partners That people have was like Six or like five or six

Maybe times three. Yeah. Because you got to think like 10 and she's 50 and she, you know what I'm saying? And she looked like that. She doesn't got my chair and got me. She's going to be fine. Yeah. What about if she's been with a celebrity, a professional athlete, a celebrity entertainer.

That's fine. Like a relationship with just a quick hookup. It depends on the level of, was she grouping out or was they in the relationship? Yeah, when she's just like, I'm with this concert and he just tore me up after the show. I gave him head. I'd be like, oh, hey. Hell, Joe. After the show, huh?

Yeah, I just couldn't help myself. Soon as we got this dressing room, I just put it in my mouth. I'll just be like, yeah, that's crazy. Yeah. That was a different time. Didn't every way putting your clothes back on. Hey, hey. It was a different time.

We got a bag. We got a bad, we got a bad condition. Hello? Damn, it's like that. After the show, huh? After the show, huh? He was still sweaty. He was musty, too.

Those balls were salty. That had it in my mouth. That was the only way I could get it in. So you've asked Tony? Yeah. Yeah. I've never asked. Yeah.

Hard-hitting conversations, man. I'll be digging in. I want to know, like, a part of it is, like, I'll be asking too many questions, but a part of it also is like, I want to know who I'm with if I'm going to take it there. I want to know who I'm with. Like, a lot of people just out here, like, you think you got the one and, you know what I'm saying? You find out they got 87 skeletons in their closet just in one year. You'd be like, damn, I don't think I know you.

And I feel like you got to have those hard-hitting conversations. A lot of people don't have a hard-hitting conversation. They don't want to know out of sight out of mind. And that's fair, too. Yes. But, like, I just like, to get to know people. on a level outside of me to see how you really move

and what you're about. And like if you've changed, how you've evolved, stuff like that. So I'll just be asking. What about, you know, she's like, with Tony,

I want to go on the balcony. I want to do it in the park. I want to do it in the car. You can meet me in the shower. I want to, you know, the restaurant. Hey, meet me in the bathroom in this restaurant.

That's exciting. You don't be thinking like, damn, she want to do that with me. She probably done that before. Well, for me, I assume, like, I automatically,

I'm not technically assume if you'd be like, oh, I want to do this. I was like, oh, you've done this before. But then if you had a conversation like, I've never done it, I always wanted to try it. I want to try. And you feel for that? I mean, that could be true. It could be true. I don't think every woman would be lying off the top.

You know what I'm saying? Because I don't be lying. I didn't see. I'll be telling the truth. My therapist told me, Shannon, just because you're not like that, that doesn't mean that there are people out there that aren't like that. Lies is out there. Okay. I've been lied to before.

Have you lied before? About my past? About anything. See, you're trying to get some sniff it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it depends. Have you handled it? Okay. I used to steal money from there, Queen.

Allegedly. I used to steal money from school. Like, you know what I'm saying? That was big lies. We got to do allegedly. Big lies McGee. Big lies McGee. But like now, in my old age and my vulnerability and my transparent mode,

I'll be like, anything you want to ask me, I'm going to tell you straight up. That's why I tell women out the gate. You know, I'm in the streets. I did this in my past. I was out here doing this. You know what I'm saying? I don't have to share that.

Or I can just lie and be like, no, it's just you. But nah, man. So I think a lot of people are out here like that telling the truth, but the lies get all the credit. Well, we can't ask you that question, Keel. Let me ask you this. She also said, she also said, men cannot have a platonic relationship with beautiful women.

I disagree with that. Y'all disagree with that. Now, it's hard, you might not take mine because all my platonic relationships with women are either business or they're married. Right. You know, so, like, my closest female friends are either, like, my homegirls from high school, you know, who I've known since I was 16, people I've known with my wife or Angel who I've known through the podcast or Tab. Right. And the rest are like business relationships. But I do believe men, I think we get a worse rap than we really are.

We get it's always a period that we just like, I got a smams, I got a smash. We're like, Tony don't be like that. You know, men that I know, not every man, but at least Tony is one person who's like, has female relationships. You can bring me around the women and I won't fuck the vibe up

because I'm trying to fuck everybody. Keep. That's where I feel like people feel safe with me because they know I'm not going to come up in there. Be like, yeah, you know what I'm saying? Make them on. We're trying to shoot. And I'm here, what you doing that?

You know what I'm doing? Like, Tony made me uncomfortable. And there's a lot of dudes like that. There's a lot of dudes in the, man, these comedians out here are the thirstiest ass. Oh, man. And hip hop. They, that's why I've never brought women around, like the comedy shows and stuff like that. Because they're always in the mix.

And then they're like, I'm going to try to sideways back door Tony. Why they talk like me? Yeah, because you too. This is you? I don't even like them asking me They dirty Mac like that Oh this dirty Mac is out here It's tough

Oh I know they out there But this one dude dirty Mac Me tough It was like somebody was telling my business But like man Tony got a roster man Look at this girl right here I've seen it

He kind of faded back Then I find out later Because he knew before. He's like, yo, such a witch tried to hollet me

and he said, you know, you let Tony Baker and see, I was like, oh, you let that nigga Terrybone. Man,

you let that nigga Terrybone type of dudes? I don't fuck with it. Ever since he pulled that move, I ain't fuck with him ever since. It was a comedian too. But if I, if I introduce you and tell you,

oh, this is my lady. And then you turn around and slide a DM. Oh, yeah, that's an ultra-bird. Now, what I will say is that,

You know, the girl, if I did bring a girl around or like something comes up in that situation, it's not my lady, so I can't lay claim to nothing. I'm not that type of dude that's just going to lay claim. Right. I just don't want you asking me. Just leave me alone. Right. Just be like, is it you, too? Just mind your business, bro.

Leave me alone. Let's be married. They'd be like, is that you? Married? Yeah. Is that you, tone? Why the fuck you want to know, though? You're married, man.

Stay out of this. Yeah, stay out of, this for Singapore. We're in the streets. But you know, the biggest. thing is not this new thing. I don't know what it happened. Maybe it was always like this but people weren't as open and honest about talking about it. This swinging thing.

You know what? You're right. Maybe it's always been like this, Kev, and people just weren't comfortable. I think it's been, we had a ballbrother show in Dallas, man. It was Swinger's City. It was polyamorous. We were like, God, dog. My girlfriend and my wife's in the audience, I got another girlfriend in the balcony. They all came on stage. We was like, man, what's

happening in Dallas? Like three, four people like that. Damn. But I think it's, it is more, it had to always be around. I think people have, there's always been people who don't conform to monogamy, but I think to the early point about social media, everybody wants to feel seen. So if you're in non-traditional relationships, you know, polyamorous or whatever, and people are open with it.

There's other people like, oh, yeah, that's, we do that type of thing as well. It's on TV shows. Right. I think that also cracks open the conversation, sister wives or like, you know, looking for a third and stuff like that. Yeah. But yeah, I think there's just a lot of what I've learned as I've aged is what is normal for me is not normal for everybody.

Correct. And just because I was raised that way does not mean everybody else. And also in those relationships, there's still boundaries and respect that you have to have even open relationships swinging. You can still, even in an open relationship, you still be like, you broke our rules. You got to do X, Y, and Z and people still be getting broken up over when you can have anybody out there. All they be like, all you got to do is tell me.

People be like, I ain't going to tell them like, no. You got the green light. You got the green light. You got the street. I'm scared. Be like, God, what's the point of even doing that? Right. So, yeah, I think social media has revealed that these type of people have in anything,

all this stuff is not unusual. Right. You know, it's just it ain't been talked about because they got them going hedonism resorts. I want people to be happy and do what they do, man. If they enjoy that. That works for them. Yeah, if it works for them, that's how I move. Like, if it works for y'all,

it really means to live forever, for all of us. I learned about some rad science. I can make a brain for you. And then we can test what draw is the best for your brain, as opposed to his brain. Here's some hard truths. I would expect Indians to age faster, but I did not expect it to be almost a four to five-year acceleration. And get myself into a world of trouble. I'd say probably start bone smashing.

He didn't put him in no movies. Ain't had him. Ain't really, you know, took him on tour with him. Do you understand what Tony is saying? I do. About Chris not, I mean, Chris is as big as it is in the comedy space. At one point in time, he was big in the movie space. And not to put your brother on and he said,

I guess one time he was supposed to be shooting something with his brother and it never happened. Yeah. I was surprised by that. It was like, because, you know, we see, we see cats like that, not even brothers,

not even siblings. We see the Wands template how they brought everybody in. And they still gave you the idea, like they still had to work for the positions they got. They weren't like, you know what I'm saying?

And so, from the outside looking in, it looks like Chris never even gave Tony the opportunity to even work to get in. You know what I mean? Yes, yeah. And so, and I don't want to speak,

you know, out of turn, because I do know Tony. Yeah. So, it's just like man i wonder what that is to where chris isn't really reaching back for tony like that you know especially especially as big as chris rock is it was right the stuff that he was that he was working on and stuff like this tony rock wasn't in cb4 or like you know these uh these other

movies right i think i love my wife yeah yeah you would think tony would just well what did chris rock do top five he top five as well like where tony at like i'm saying and so tony funny Tony is funny man And a different style of comedy than Chris. You would never even know they were related. Not at all. You know what I'm saying? They have totally different comedic style. If you put them on the same show back to back, you're getting two totally different shows.

Yes. Yeah. And so it just makes me wonder like, yo, why not? Right. Because I'm putting my brother up in there. For sure. Yeah. But you know what I realized and seeing what's going on with the bus and the Laker family

and that, you know, Jeannie wants to hold on to the chairs and the other. I just realized everybody doesn't have the same relationship that me and my brother and sister have. And so once I had to step back and like everybody is not close as you are. That's true. Yes. And once you realize that, K.E. of it tone, I think you're like, okay. And that's what just like we started on the relationships. The way I see the world, I think, I didn't realize this, but, um, Wayne's brother's movie,

um, oh my God, I'm blanking on the name. Keeney and I ever Wayne's, uh, Blacksport Gish. I'm going to get you suck. Yeah. It's the first comedy I remember seeing. Okay. Right. So I feel like it both shaped my comedy and then I realized, oh, Damon was his,

brother. And then I saw Damon Waynes in Mo Money and he had Marlin in there. And then they was all in the living color. So I was like, that's how you do it. Like, I want to be like that. And then with like, even Jud Appetal and Adam Sandler, like, I love they bringing their friends along for stuff. Adam Sandler's wife has been in like 20 movies with Adam Sandler. Man, there's in Adam Sandler. You don't see them in no other movies unless it is an Adam's movie. Right. So for me, it was like, my brother toured with us. He was on the road with us. And for me, it's like bringing my friends along, that's more fun to me. Right. But to your point, I know you and Sterling are very close.

Yes. Yeah. That is people don't always be cool with their family. That's hard for me to under. I'd be like, you're not your brother. Yeah. You don't work with your sister. And people be like, I ain't, I went no contact with my mom. And I feel you, but that feels because I was foreign to me. It's foreign to me. Yeah. So it's hard, like to Tony's point, it's harder to understand. No disrespect. But it's hard to understand with like, to. To me, it's like the whole point of getting on is to put people on, you know, closest to me. Especially when you hear about how Tony talks about Chris, it feels like the love is there. Right.

From Tony's perspective. Correct. Like, I've never seen Chris talk about Tony. But you can tell Tony is a loyal, proud little brother. Like, he's going, when the slap happened, he was ready to ride on Will Smith. So it's like, you know, the love is there from Tony's perspective. but I'm just like, I wonder what keeps Chris from reciprocate? Yeah.

But you know what else about to social media? I think what I realized is I am just as curious as though I want to be clear about that. We don't be knowing. Right. Yeah. Like, and just because the one person speaks, if the other person hasn't spoken, then we're going to be like, well, I ain't heard the other side. Right.

So this is the only side that makes sense, especially if the side that you already kind of leaning toward. But as I've gotten older in my platform, sometimes. when I don't speak on something, people create their own assumption and they'd be wrong. And I just, I don't want to go with it. I let them go with it. Yeah, like at this point, I'm not correcting people. Like, believe what y'all believe. It don't even matter to me, you know what I'm saying?

But it just feels like that's, I'd be curious, you know. I'm big curious. Yeah, I'm nosy. Because Chris Rock, you're like, man, Tony used to beat me up every week. You never, you know, what? Yeah, that's why I really, you know. And then you look dumb for being like, Oh, Tom.

Yeah. You didn't tell us that. Big brother's supposed to be that little brother. Me and my brother, we fought. I fought everybody anyway. Drewski said he spent that church kit. He spent $100,000. Man.

And a lot of people have been getting upset with Drusky. But he has to draw inspiration from somewhere. He saw a pastor do something similar. I saw that too. He saw him with the Dior jacket or maybe it was, maybe with Gior, maybe it was Gucci or Louis Vuitton. He's drawing that inspiration from me. somewhere. Yes. That's what I always say. Like, what I like about Druski is, every time he takes a man at somebody, the people in that community be like, hey, hey, hey, and the rest of us be like,

that's funny. And we recognize that we recognize we have seen that too. The Hotebs, the British actor thing, the church thing. And as a church person who grew up in church who worked in a church, I seen everything Druski said. Yeah. I've seen the pastor who came down on the wire. I ain't seen a full Dior jacket, but I've seen full designer, pastor's shoeing. Red, red, but this ain't nothing in them. There's a reason why these skits are hidden. Yeah, and it's a reason why it feels authentic.

Yeah. It'd be one thing if it was like, what are you talking about? Yeah, I've never seen this. I've never seen that. Yeah. But the hit dogs holler. Right. But he did not make that stuff up.

Right. I can send you five videos. The only thing I ain't seen is somebody, the pastor spit out the window at somebody. But I've seen them in that Bentley. Oh, yeah. See the money count machines and not like you're doing wrong sometimes. Just there's big brands. They're making big money out there.

They're making, like got the ATM machine. Yes. And the one he did allegedly supposedly, I guess it had to be with the woman that tragically lost her husband. When she came out there and the power of techniques were going off. What was there? Charlie Crick White. Oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, I was not connected.

But even that, like, you could see. I didn't even see that stuff. Then afterwards, people seeing you the video. and it'd be like, dang. He's nailing it. Drusky gets culture and he really a good character actor. Oh, for sure. Like, I first saw him the Kyle Roger videos.

I don't know if you saw those when he was doing the white fraternity dude. Yes. That's the first Drusky thing I said. I said, oh my God, that's everybody at University of Washington, all them white dudes. And then when he became the Holtep dude, he's the whole temp dude. The British actor was like, NASCAR white dude spinning on the ground, like the church. So, Miss Rachel, like, he. He low-key got his own thing.

That's why I remember somebody's like, he's Shantar on Saturday Live. Why? So his views could drop? Right. He's doing well as old. He said the internet ablaze. He's doing fine where he's at. He just did somebody.

He got like 150 million views. Oh, wow. On Twitter. A network would murder six children to get that type of traction. Like he is a network unto himself. But no, I thought that was, that church video was funny. Oh, hell yeah. Yeah, he's killing the next thing.

All the entire text. in production and somebody let him use their church. And that wasn't a warehouse. Like, I know what church that was. I ain't going to say it. But that was a real church. Church people be knowing, man. Man, watch out. I love Trusky. Yeah, he's funny to me. I'm going to go to you first, Tom.

Every video that he posts, whether he's doing the branded content, the movie promotion, where he got the stars coming in, they're throwing the glasses, and then he'd be cooking up some interesting stuff, and then he'll see something that he saw on the internet, and then he'll be in France the next day. I had to try it. He'll try it, throw the glasses off. That's probably my four. Right there. Okay. Who you got kids?

Man, this is really tough. Because I'm trying to think people who are like social media dominant. Yeah. Versus like do it all. My favorite of all time is Katie Don. Okay. Katie Don is my favorite. You know who daddy?

Yeah, she is, she started on Vine. She lost her brother and she slowed down after that. But she's my favorite of all time. Drewski I put up there too. I'm going to go country Wayne because of what Wayne has built. Wayne is in the billions of views monthly. He hit a billion, I think, for the first time of December of last year. Now he's closing on $2 billion.

That is just off the empire alone. I'm like, I can't even fathom that. Bad views, though. Like, you got your own world. Yeah. People are getting rich working with Wayne. Yes. People, real actors are like,

now I'm getting paid consistently over down at Wayne. So just off a sheer like man, you're killing. I'm gonna put Wayne in there. Okay. Who's that three? I'm gonna go and it's probably two Tony Stadavichie is one of my favorite content creators. He's young. He has so many original premises that I never would have thought of. And I'm a that's four right. Yeah. All right. I don't want to cheat. All right. Give me a goat comedian. Tony Baker's on my goal and I don't care how people feel about it. And stop giving them slack because he'd be putting me on that goddamn list, man.

Tony Baker, what of my favorite comedians and he's been from lost-off. If he enjoyed my comedy, man, leave me on that Mount Rushmore because our damn show ain't on nobody else. He's shut the hell up and let it happen. Sinbad. You got Tony Baker, you got Sinbad. For me, Jonathan Slocum. I don't know that.

Jonathan Slocum is a church comedian. He had a tape called Laugh Yourself to Life. Okay. My parents played this in their car on the way to church. It was the first person that made me realize you could even be. funny in the church. And we burnt a hole in that tape, burnt a hole in the VCR. Is he still

doing it? He's still doing it. He was in church. He played by dad in churchy. He was on Steve Harvey Show as well. And I'm going to go Ernest J. Arnish J is such a physical comedian. Yeah. Man, when he drew that leg, threw that leg back, man, I'll be like, ain't nobody funnier than that. And I don't care how y'all feel about my list because you can't

whoop me. I'd be tired people just saying this. It's same thing with rap. Tupac, Viggy, you can't name three, songs off the album. You just say stuff that you think people want to hear. Well, you ain't got prior? You ain't got Eddie? I got them. But I watched these four more than anybody else. And Jamie Fox, I might need to carry my favorite special of all time. Okay. All right, who you got, who you got to him?

So my personal, Mount Rushmore, Damon Wands. Okay. Simbad. Yep. That's all I got, man. That's what you got? Dave, but you got to get. Well, I just told you to show list, but you come up.

Those be my main two that's always on there. You did good in school? Everybody else. My Rushmore got four heads on it. My Mount Rushmore be changing, I noticed. Well, just give us two right now. All right. Because it will be like how you would feel in the moment.

It's just, I know my two mainstays are Sinbad and Damon Wayne. Right. Everybody else would be like George Carlin could be on there. Yeah, I like Carlin. I like Carlin a lot because he made, he's giving you that real education. Yeah. But it was funny, though. Yeah.

It wasn't just like, oh, that's a good point. I wasn't a long time in between laughs either. Yes. A lot of times political comedians, they would be taking 12 minutes between the first line. I'd be like, that's great information, but I ain't laughed in 15 minutes. Right. George Farland had me laughing with the education, so I'm going to put George Carlin in there. And then, I got to put Eddie Murphy on there.

Just because, and I'm not just saying that because Eddie Murphy, I feel like Eddie Murphy is the goat of comedy. Yeah, for sure. In terms of the whole package of it. Yeah. What are you able to do? You're going to movie. Nobody has done that. Nobody has done. Nobody will touch. His career is like, it's so, it's legendary status. He hosted Saturday Night Live while being a cast member. Yeah. That's like, you ain't even supposed to be that famous. And his movies, and his movies took the hell off like crazy. And we haven't seen that. You can say, Jim Carrey kind of matched that hit trajectory, but we don't have no strong Jim Carrey's stand-up special

like we do with Eddie Murphy. And then Jim, Jim, just like, he just went away. He did. I mean, you know, you look at pet detective and you look at the mask and you look at some of a liar, liar. I mean, he had a run. That track record. He was headed there. Yeah.

And he just kind of, then it was like, it was hard. It was hard. It's just hard. And then when he was in, on living color. He was crazy. Yeah, he was killing. Back to the Wayne's like, yeah. The Wayans amount of people who was on that cast.

to forever famous. Their field goal percentages out of this world. They created almost everybody was a star. Town for pound. They gave me no. Jaylo.

Nobody would, nobody, nobody will ever do that again. Never. You can't even do that again. No. I don't even know they'll lie to you. I mean, the Key & Peele special. And you remember Philip Wilson. Remember Flip Wilson?

Yeah, I love it. Yeah. The Super Bowl halftime show exists because of in living color. Yep. And they had to get Michael Jackson. They had to. Like, bro, you be, you're ready.

We got to get Michael Jackson, man. Get these men, because you're living color taking the numbers. That's insane. That's crazy, though. But I think that's my, you know. Yeah. Also, you might be able to whip me.

I just solve my. No, man, he's saying what he said, man. You make up your own list. Everybody'd be having the same Mount Rushmore all the time. Prior, Eddie, Bernie, they're all good. But, I mean, you can't, it's hard to argue prior. But I don't, I don't disagree with that. But I feel like people don't really, they don't actually.

believe that a lot of times, they just know, I've got to say, these three people, these four people, but they ain't seen. If I make you a stand-up list of the ultimate Mount Rushmore of comedians, it's going to be Richard Pryor. Oh, yes. It's going to be Eddie Murphy. Because I know Richard Pryor is the blueprint for everything that we saw in there. Because he started with him.

Yeah. He's the blueprint. You know a guy that doesn't because, and people have a hard time separating his comedic with his personal life. Yeah. Bill Cosby. For sure. Oh, Bill Cosby is, people have a hard time.

The same thing with R. Kelly. Yes. People have a hard time. Bill Cosby is a comedian. As a comedian. Man, listen. And then as a clean comedian. Yeah.

Like, as a job of stand-up, he is one of the greatest. He's one of the best. He's one of the best ever do it. Yeah. But then as a job of humanity. Terrible. Come on, man. You were selling jello and lies.

Kemp, congratulations on the Tooby deal. Thank you. Why is this such a big deal? I mean, you give hope to other comedians that this is what's possible. You don't have to hate on somebody, because I've never heard you, you know, hate on anybody say anything, negative about anybody. You just keep your head down. You in tone, keep your head down and just keep grinding away. And you've been rewarded for your hard work and your patience.

Yeah, for me, the thing I like the most about To Be is I got to do, me and Melissa's goal right now in our life was we got to stop paying for this content. Right. Our kids are going to college. It's too risky to spend that kind of money and hope it gets picked up. Right. By the grace of God, the times we did spend that bread, those shows got picked up. Right. But if we did, you know, we're playing two tuitions and then we make a show that goes nowhere,

that's just bad. That's not fiscally responsible. Right. So we was like, okay, we got to find somebody else to pay for it. Right. So Tubey checked that box. What was also important to me is maintaining creative control. Like, I want to be able to tell the story.

So if it succeeds, I'd be like, yes. And if it fails, I can live with it because that's exactly how I wanted it to go. Right. And Tubey allows me creative control. And the third thing is ownership. Like, you know, there's owning this thing is like owning houses in Monopoly. Like you own a show, right, churchy. Even though I own that show too.

I licensed that to BT. Right. After time, that comes back to me. Right. With all these platforms, I can say, hey, Hulu put this on or some channel you never heard of. Right. Some fast channel. Like, we ain't gotten a retirement for comedians.

Right. And actors. So all we really can have is, and we really ain't got residuals like that. No more. The residual game is dried up because of streaming. The residuals was part of the advertising of the cable and TV. They pay for those shows. They pass it on to the actors.

Subscription models. You can't say this show is why Netflix is successful, even it's a lot of numbers because that dwindles. So owning that and being able to resell that into all these windows is important. And then also it allows me to put so many other content creators, actors and comedians and stuff. Right. Like we have SafeSpace.

It's funny because these people are funny. Like I play my role, but the comedians, we improv and that stuff. The reason you laughing is because of what they say. That's the airport, which is coming out this fall. When you see that, man, it's like, we had like 55 content creators over five days. All got a chance to shine. You know what I mean? So your favorites are going to be in there with your other favorites because I'm trying to do it in living color.

Like I'm trying to do what in living color would look like today. You know what I'm saying? So I have, you know, Lexpe, I know Lexpe and Dre were on me. Yes, yes. They pulled up, man. It was, man, we was in one green room. all these people we're in no money for

sag green rooms everybody was in there with their suitcases getting their makeup in one room and to Tony's point none of the men was in there like hey man what you're doing where you change your clothes

right like it wasn't no everybody was chilling they creating videos on their own so like being able to platform other people is also important to me and Tobe has allowed me to cast with these things

they allow you to pick the cast and stuff like that so for me that was the best part about it and then I get back in participation. Yes. If these things succeed, I get to, you know, enjoy the benefits of what I created. Right. So for that reason, it's the best deal for me. And also, when it comes time to negotiate my next deal, it's like, this is what I've already got. Right. I got to prove the

concept. Yeah. And I've got a track record. So now you're coming in saying, well, you ain't going to own it. That's fine, but you're going to pay way more. If you don't want me to own it, then I got to top your pockets. And I'm okay. Yeah. I own a lot of stuff. I ain't got to own everything, but you're not going to get the ownership fee without the ownership paycheck. You know what I'm saying? So for me, it was just the best transition into creating my own empire, you know, within social. And also, Tooby is free. Tube is free.

Like, there's a trueness of people who are tired of paying for platforms. We got 80 million subscriptions. And the platforms are raising the price and they ain't even used to raise the price to say, hey, YouTube TV is going up, but it's because we're getting ESPN, we're getting this. Now they just be like, $40 now. $40. What else we get? You can watch it. Yep.

No commercial. No, they don't even offer you the price. They're just going to email it 23 before is 27 now. What's you feeling to do? What's you feeling to do? Yeah. It's 40 now. Keep talking.

You go back and look at the movie. You got Bernie Mac. You got Bernie Mac. You got everybody in there. You got Ham of the Anderson. Harlem Night. Yeah. You got Rick James in there.

And so Kev is bringing back that collaborative spirit that's been missing with black comedy. And to our credit, this group of comedians and actors, we are collaborative. You know, the generations past, I think it's Hollywood's fault. I don't blame the creators. Oh, yeah, not being pitting each other,

pitting you against each other in the networks. Yeah. But now we didn't really have that, that same problem. So people are like, yeah, Kev, I'll pull up. I've been waiting to work with you. And they ain't trying to tax my, but they know I ain't got a lot of that. Right.

That's one thing I want to say because I know this is going to go for. Tube and give me a whole bunch of breath. Right. Right. It is too big, respectfully, respectfully. But I ain't got to pay for it. Right. You know, so I ain't rich to the new family members that find me every day.

Yeah. You know, we cousins, Kim. I've never seen. Never mentioned. I literally have never seen you in my life. Inspiration. Tyler Perry, because you see Tyler Perry put a lot of us in this moment. For sure.

I mean, it might be one of them, but it's going to be a hundred of us. Yeah. For sure. You have to. You have to commend me for that. 1,000% what Tyler has. I wanted to be Tyler Perry. I used to make plays.

And Tyler Perry was like, man, if we could do what Tyler's doing, he's selling out, he's moving his plays. I just couldn't reach that level of success. But him betting on himself. I remember Lionsgate had like rise. It had like random movies. Oh, yeah. A couple of random movies.

Then they gave Tyler $4 million for, you know what I mean? $50 million. $50 million at the box. office. And he's just been running that play ever since. And then he bought that studio. So yes, I think what Tyler has built and continues to build as far as ownership goes, that's for sure like a beacon. People, he's created so many millionaires. He's done this with no crossover, no need for the crossover. Yeah. Like, you know what I'm saying? Critics always bash his movies. Yeah. And the white community, like, I've never seen these movies, but it don't

matter. Yeah. And that's okay for me. If I was only ever famous to black people, that's fine. You can still be a billionaire with a house with a landing strip in Atlanta. Literally. On black money. On black money. Yeah. So yeah, I admire Tyler and I admire Robert Townsend.

Like Robert Townsend, man, the movies he made, Hollywood Shuffalo. Hollywood Shuff would be best. Five heartbeats. Like, he was directing, he was acting. All his movies are culturally relevant. For sure. BAPs, like black people, we love Robert Townsend. And his daughter, Sky, is very talented.

Yeah, she's dope. She's super talented. So those are like the people that I want. Ken and Ivory Wains did the same thing. Yes. These are the people that are like, I want to. If my career only made it to y'all, I feel like I would have made it. Yeah.

Tom, you were in the video with Kiki Palmer and Sizzler. Yeah. Just one of them, Dave. What was that experience like? Oh, it was dope, man. Like, I got in that movie because I was like, yo, I found out that they were working on that movie. Okay. I want to be in on that.

And a good friend of mine, Robin Thidi. Okay. I was like, yo, Robin, man. You know what I'm saying? Who you know over there working on? on the, you know what I'm saying? Just one of them days. And she was like, let me ask around.

Next thing you know, my agent hit me up. They want you to be in one of them days. Because I know Kiki and Kisor before that. Right. And then they was just like, yo, because I did a voiceover for Kiki's son. He was like real little. He was like a baby baby. Right.

And so, yeah, they just threw me up in there, man. I didn't have to audition than nothing. Right. And so I was working at that church's chicken in the movie, the biscuit burglar. Strikes a yeah But it was dope man They just had me there one day

It was a one day shoot And it was great And I was happy to see This is the first time I was able to go see myself At an actual wide release theatrical movie When my part didn't get cut

Because I was in that movie Whiplash but they cut my scene Oh you can whiplash? You can still see my silhouette in the back You can still see my silhouette behind J.K. Simmons Academy Warwick It's a great movie

It would be a great movie It would be a great movie when they cut me out. Academy Award winning, you know what I'm saying? But so it was cool to go to the movie theater and go see like, oh snap, it's me. So I was able to see myself on the big screen in an actual movie for the first time.

You got a dream role? Dream role for me, and me and I can talk about this all the time, is an action comedy. That's the dream role. Buddy, it could be either buddy cops, buddy whatever's. And it's an action comedy,

Midnight Room. Run, bad boys, rush out with lethal weapon. These are the movies that I love growing up. Running Scared with Gregory Hines and Billy Crystal. And so it's always been my dream to be in like an action comedy. Even the nice guys of Russell Crow and Ryan Gosling, stuff like that. Last Boy Scout. Okay, yeah, yeah.

Those are like my dream roles of like that right there. With the action is good, but the comedy is dope as well. Dream role for me. I want to be a villain. I want to be like Mr. I want to be like, man, I hate Cab. And I'll never, because I want to play so far against type. I want to be cussing and shoot people and smacking women.

You want to be a good one for real? Yes. I want to be like, who is this guy? I'm putting a cigarette out on a six-year-old's head. I just murderous rage. I would love to do something so against type. They'd be like, man, maybe that really is it. Maybe.

Like Keanu Reeves in the gift. I ain't see it. Oh, you mean, man. That's a departure. But anyway. That would be my dream. Stand up. Mm-hmm.

Either one of you guys who ever been booed on stage? What? Yeah, I got booed. It was just one person, though. I don't know if that really counts. He was booing everybody that night. He was at the casino in Temecula.

He was just like, boo! And I was like, I was like, hey, man, you know what I'm saying? So I went in on him and then I saw the comedian after me. He was like, boo! I was like, oh, this is just his em-off. Yeah. So that's my only boo.

Right. You know what I mean? So I don't know if that really counts. It does. I mean, it ain't real. I feel like if you ain't earned the person. A real boo is like an assortment of like a buildup and like it's spreading like booed. Kind of like Apollo.

Yeah. You ain't earned that personal boo. Right. It was just heckling. Like even when I went home that night, I didn't feel defeated. Yeah. I got booed. I just posted this.

I got booed at a step show. But I mostly got booed because I mixed up two fraternity sorority's names. I said give it up for the brothers of Alpha Kappa Alpha. And I got booed by the. the entire divine night. They were like, boo! And it was everybody here.

It was the whole... I saw the clip. It was 7,000 people. You meant to say alpha-fifah alpha. I meant to say alpha-fai alpha, but I was so nervous. I've been stuck. And that's the funny thing is,

people were like, you should have prepared. I prepared harder for that stepshow than I ever did for college. I had no cards. I was like, I cannot mess up. Cannot mess up. Cannot mess up. First, he had the papers up there.

He was like, Alpha, Kappa, Alpha. My face, in the video, my face looked so scared. It was immediate, I looked back down and then all the letters were clear. I was like, oh, because the men are capas with the red and white. Yes. And they were strolling. Kappa Alpha Alpha.

Yes. Alpha Phi Alpha was in the wings. They were first. Black and gold. And the A.K.A.s were also strolling. So they all had one of those words in there. Yeah. And that's why I believe if you're not Greek, you shouldn't host Greek events.

Because you don't understand that. Because the first part, this is what set me up. They was all strolling. I was ready to get my jokes off. So when I first came to the stage, I was like, all right, man. Stop. Like, it's my turn to. And they was all hopping and doing that.

I was like, hey, man, sit down. Civilians. Give it up. He had a blazer on. Business guys, I did, business casual. Big old blazing. The blaze home with the jean. So you was prepared.

Man, I was ready to take the massive ale. And then I had like another hour and a half. They hated me that whole day. I make no more jokes. We were never monetized. So I just always was true. to who I was on stage. Now I don't really cuss like that, but I ain't clean as a person as I used to. He cussing more and more. More and more. You rub it up.

When Tony was 30 minutes late, I was cussing him out in the text. I said, man, what the hell are you doing? He started cussing in the text, and we're like, oh, he's cussing in the text. Now he's been cussing verbally now. We're like, oh, I'm like, yeah, care. Tony, how did the last comic standing on NBC?

How did that help you? It didn't. You didn't do a damn thing, Shannon. Damn, I'm told you. Right here right now, man. I appreciate you all for bringing me back two seasons, but my life didn't change. You ain't get no money out that? Nope.

It didn't. Period. It did not change. Dang. Nothing changed, man. Like, I respect the opportunity. It was great. But honestly, it didn't really change my life like that.

I thought it would. Right. I was like, oh, man. Because normally you're on a big, you're on a big time for Dungeon. Yeah. Millions of people watch. Yes, yes. This is it right here.

Then I came back for another season. Oh. Right. It's about to happen now. No. It looks good on the resume. You know, some people remember me from there, but it's very rare that you see. Man, I saw you on last come extent.

Right. That's one part of like previous generations I wish was different. When we was growing up on comedy, you hit Comic View. You sold out. You have a good set on. on Deaf Comedy Jam sold out. Chris Tucker went from Dev Comedy Jam straight to Friday to rush hour.

Rush hour. And then he had a fifth element in there. Fifth Element. And then they had Money Talk. Yeah. But like your set would like change your or you get a TV show. Roseanne, Tim Allen.

That was the blueprint. You go on the Johnny Carson show? Man. The Sky was a limit. Seinfeld went from Carson to his own show back to their Jay Leno. like, but that do not happen,

except Funny A.F. Funny A.F is the first show in a long time where you saw the comedians who appeared on that. Ron Taylor's cities went crazy after that. You saw it in real time. So it's like, as a comedian, I'm like, man, finally there's an outlet that leads to direct sales.

Because that's all you want is a comedian. Right. The ability to sell more tickets, that or movies. But you actually probably make money. Do they even do that now on a, on late night talk shows, because you remember, if you got an opportunity to come,

if Johnny Carson had you on. Yeah. And he invited you to the couch. That was... You was about to blow up. Yeah. Your life would not change that all. You, you, you, it's over.

You're never going to be the same again. You could do Jimmy Fallon every day this year. And it won't move to kneel like that. It just ain't, it's people are, we're inundated with content. And people aren't watching it as much, like they're not drawing the viewers like it used to. Johnny Carter, I mean, I grew up on content.

Yeah, Carson was a life-changer. Yeah, for sure. You have a good set and he called you over? If you slide down next to Carson, your life would never be the same. Jerry Seinfeld has $400 million right now because he killed on Johnny Carson. He's a billionaire? He's a billionaire? Yeah. He got a billionaire.

Jerry. Jerry. Seinfeld. Jerome Seinfeld. He has a billionaire now. We didn't get a billion. Like recently. Like, within the past year, he crosses.

Because he was sitting at 900 for Madeline. Jesus. Larry David in that quote. 500 range. I don't want to get so famous to where people know how much money I make. Oh, shoot. You see, I'm just rattling out somebody's network. I don't want people knowing my network.

That'll be a great problem to have more than you. I don't want nobody know enough. If you know, you know. I don't want nobody know enough. You know how they put the salary up. Tom Holland made $20 million for $1. I don't want you know my salary. No, with the back-in revision is going to be over $100 now. Oh, it's going to be crazy. So, Bobbun's a podcast got $200 million deal, but it got to be

public for you to get it. They're like, we got make a press release. Why if we got to make it public? Because they want to, that's how they do. You win a lot of, you played a lot of you know, most states to make it make it public because they want people to know that they actually want it. Mm-hmm. Because they're going to say, I ain't nobody won that money. Yep. Can I have the mask on? Nope.

Yeah, so do what you're going to do? I think with the Florida, he went up there with a screen mask. Yes, yes. That's me. Joe Rogan, Joe Bunny, I don't want people knowing my money. I would rather that not happen, but if I got to do it, I got to do it. I mean, if I got to choose between no money or Let everybody know.

But I feel that. It's a lot of pressure to have people asking for you, asking stuff of you all the time. And you can't say you ain't got it because I don't seen it. I don't see it. See? Yeah. You know what I'm saying?

I ain't got it. Taxes. Just say you made fines of a minute. You need to go back to them NBA players. So he just lied to it because he said, Tuba don't play. So he lied to it. That's the truth. That's the truth.

You were thinking about it. You were thinking about it. You were thinking about it, too. Not the truth. Now that he mentioned it, you don't want nobody to know. This is why I'm on the road right now, Shudder. Because let me tell you what people don't understand. When you run this to be deal and you're producing that, if you go over a budget, I got to pay for that.

Me personally, Kevin, ain't no going back to Tubi like, we went over by $50,000 and y'all. They're like, oh, that ain't got nothing. They got no with me. We gave you the budget. Yeah. So I literally am personally. Me and Melissa are responsible for any overages. When I tell you, I ain't got it, Shedden.

I ain't got it. It's going on the screen. It's going in the over. And every production ever go over budget. No matter what you try to do, it's going over budget. You know who went right at budget and under? Who? Christopher Nolan.

For Odyssey? The Odyssey didn't go over budget. Well, how much was the budget? Well, how much was the budget? Well, maybe if you go over 250, man, what the hell you would be going on? Yeah, they'd be going over 250. Man, I wouldn't go over 250. I come right over.

He turned it in right on time, right under budget. Cam, the church got mad. Why did church get mad at you? Boy, the church stay mad at me. But you came from the church. They know that. But I'm changing. He cusses now.

That ain't why they got mad. You cuss all day. You love them gays. Now we got the problem. But no, I've been dragged on a myriad out of occasions. The two most recent, I said I love gay people and then I said, I beat my meat. You know, the church's going to get mad at you. Yeah, I said I beat my meat.

Yeah, I did say it. And I did say it. But they be beating the church, man. You can beat it, but you got to feel sad about it. You got to repent for it. And then be gay people in the church, man. And then you just be quiet about it. Yeah.

But I was like, nah. Was that military slogan, don't ask, don't tell? That's big time church. And I'm up here asking and tell it. And that's just like you, I feel like I'm upsetting the status quo. And people don't like that. Right. And it's funny, like, getting drag doesn't bother me.

I got to deal with my actual family don't be agreeing with me either. Right. So those are the conversations that are really tough. You're getting dragged on threads and TikTok. Man, your grandma being like,

I prayed for you. I saw what happened. Ruthie being like, I seen what you said on the podcast and let me tell you what I'm praying. Now, that's what really gets up. You're like, come on, grandma, and I ain't baking the peach cobbler.

So you was beating your meat while I was up in there cooking them greens. That's what I really got. I remember you going to the bathroom. That's why I told you to wash your hands every time you come in the kitchen, boy. I knew you was up to no good up in that bathroom, because you was in there for 25 minutes.

And I was in there cooking the greens. The whole child I was getting greens together. You was in that bathroom. You better pray on that. You both have had some heartbreak. You lost your son in a tragic car accident. Your brother had a heart attack. Do what you care.

Tone, how did you deal with? I mean, the passing of a son. Yeah. Passing of a child. Because we all expect our kids, put us to rest. We don't put, we don't lay them to rest. Yeah. And you're at the age now, you're like, I don't know if you, you might want more kids, you might get married and decide you want other kids. But death ain't no coming back

from that. How did you deal with that trauma? How did you deal with that tragedy? For me, like when it happened, it happened in August 2021. I, uh, I was on tour at the time. I was supposed to go to Austin, Texas. That was my next city. And then I was just like, you know, of course, that shit was canceled. Because it was. like coming up that weekend and then you know it was just soul-shattering in that moment and I was just like I remember I remember that day vividly you know the cast was looking at me like you good it was like weird my girl at the time was there and I just remember having to make the phone calls and like you know asking the the cop I was on the phone were you sure you sure you sure

because you just get desperate right like you sure he's gone like you know what I'm saying and so I went through all of that. All the emotions. All the emotions. And then I'm just making the calls to the family. And so I remember I called Kev eventually later on that afternoon. And it was just like, and then throughout it all, as the family came together, I was just like, yo, how am I still functioning through this? Like, how am I still able to say a sentence?

How am I still laughing, like, you know, through, in ground zero. I'm still laughing. We're still joking. I still got an appetite. That's what I'm like, I'm a greedy-ass nigga, man, because how am I still eating food? Not either my son's death can stop me from getting the second plate.

Like, man, I'm doomed. Like, man, this is crazy. Man, come on, man. This ain't even supposed to be, man. Come on. They don't eat. Like, what are we going to eat? What are we going to eat?

And so I found out a lot about, like, myself, through that whole ordeal and you see how people move around you and it made me a better person to when other people lose people it made me better at being there for them right because I know I know what's needed and how to move and how not to disappear and like because some people disappear some people you didn't expect stepped up and you find out what you what you need and then you find out about yourself and what you really need for peace right like for me like you know what I'm saying I don't need to, some people are like, I got to see the body. I didn't need, I didn't need that. Right. Like, I'd rather just. You didn't see the, you didn't see it? Nope.

Nope. I remember going to the other side of, when we was at the mortuary, they were, they were in the room, but I was just on the other side of the door. I went to the door, but I didn't want to see it. I wanted to see him, but I was like, no. I can't see my name. I ain't never going to unsee what I saw. So I was like, you know, it's just better that, you know, last time I saw him, he was walking out the apartment. Love you, love you too.

And so you find out what you need to best survive throughout the whole thing. And I know for me, anger is not going to help me. So I can't sit here and be angry at the drivers that hit them. I can be. I went to court. I went to one court hearing. And I was just like, and I had a breakdown after that. And I was just like, I can't do the court.

You know what I'm saying? Sheree, my ex-wife and her husband, Tony, they would go to a lot of the proceedings. And you know, court, they're going to drag it out. They're still dragging it out. Yeah. They were dragging out. All right, we got to push that back. We got to push that back again.

We've got to find who evidence. The family, you know what I'm saying? I'm not about, you're not about to drag me out. How my motion was tied up for another five, six years. Because once I go to the courtroom, now it's sterile. Now it's not like a feeling of we remember Saran. We remember the energy. We feel him.

When you go to court, that's when the reality is always there. It's all somber. It's very sterile and real and just like, yo, This person died. It ain't like court. They like what you see on TV in the real court. Right. It's just all business in there.

It's just like, this is what we're here for. And then they got to cue up the video and the picture. I'm not about to do all that. Right. And so it just taught me to hold on to whatever keeps me peaceful. Right. And pushing through. I was like, I'm going to do that without running from anything.

I'm running from that court because there's no benefit. You'd be like, yeah, you can be there for Saran. Some ain't gone. He ain't in that courtroom. Right. You know what I mean? So throughout that whole process, it's just like, all right, well, you know, and I still be in disbelief. Right.

You know what I'm saying? I still go through waves of grief. I'll be crying. I cry a lot. Right. You know what I'm saying? Probably, probably once a day, at least. And so we just pushed through.

And it's just like, but I just amazed myself of how I'm still able to laugh, find joy, while carrying this heartbreak like that. And so that's how I was able to deal with it. Then it helped too making people laugh, getting back on the road. I got back on the road like at the end of that month because the funeral had to get pushed back for COVID. Right. We had a COVID outbreak within the family. So I was just like, let me make people laugh because that energy coming back really helped me out a lot. And I can tell they were grieving too.

Right. So they were like, you know what I'm saying? It was like a. Right. And that's why I'd be telling Keev, like why I'm scared to talk about serene on stage is because. You get the most, you feel. I feel like the audience is going to be too serious about it. Right.

I'm telling you, I'm doing it right now. I know you're doing it right now, but you know. You can do it. I know, but it's just scary. Because you have your situation with your brother. Yeah. Had a heart attack. So you, you tell, no, you tell on.

This whole hour is all about the loss of my brother. Just what that was, where my headspace was. Me and Melissa had to plan the funeral. I'd only been to three funerals in my life. Wow. And the fourth one that I went to, I had to plan, how to pay for. Not that the pay for it was negative.

It was just like, I didn't know how to do this. Yeah. I've never done this. Right. You know, and, you know, black people always be like, man, I just talked to him. Like, I was talking to him that day. Yeah. And then my sister-in-law called him like, yo, your brother had an aneurys and at that time, we thought he had

a seizure, a seizure. And we found out was a heart attack later. So I was just like, this is no way. I had a show that night as well. And I canceled the show, went to Houston. And now even, I was talking to list about this. last time, the Houston airport is ruined for me. Because every time I get to baggage claim, it's like I'm transported through like a portal

of time. And every time it feels like I am getting this information, this is once I hit the ground, it became so real for me. So every time I go to Houston for a show, regardless, it feels like as soon as I hit that baggage claim, I'm like, this nigga dad again, you know? So it was just like Tony said, it's like earth shattering because I didn't, military kid, your family becomes much closer than most people. Because I don't have people who I grew up with like,

oh, second grade, I know you said, we moved every three or four years. Right. So I don't have people, and this is probably social media. So once they got orders, you never saw the people again. Right. Like, you just, it was over with. Right.

So my brother, my sister, my mom and dad, uncles and aunts that I grew up with, were much closer. So losing, and then when you get to L.A., I don't have a huge amount of friends here. Like, you know, tone to hear, people I may have, Angel, but it's not like 20, 30 people. probably like less than 10. So when you lose one that you have for life,

it's like doubly, triply, it's like losing three or four friends, you know. And then that person's irreplaceable as well. Like, you know, pieces of them exist in other people, but that person in totality does not exist the same way. So, you know, little things like the Seahawks won in the Super Bowl, that's our team. And when they win, it's just like, man.

He ain't here. He ain't here. He didn't hear. Man, I want to call her and be like, Nicky, can you believe we won with Sam Donald? Like, this is crazy. Like, you want to, you want to share that stuff. And you can't.

So it makes things that used to be beautiful, now bitter sweet. It's like they're poisoned a little bit, you know what I mean? So, but the crazy thing about life is like, you know, Tony, 49, I'm 43. You, you 50 something. 58. 58. If you are blessed with a long life, you are going to lose people. Yes.

It's just, there's no way of it. It's the tragedy of being blessed with old age. Yes, right. Is you going to experience a lot. Yep, here we go. The earth going turn all day that day. Yep, and the next day, it ain't nothing stopping. The bill's going to be due.

My mortgage wasn't there like, hey, kid, we know what you're going on, man. You're going to push it. Yeah. They was like, hey, man, it's the first. Yeah, we need that. I need that. Yeah. On October 1st.

Yeah. It was a week away. So, yeah, to Tony's point, you really got to figure out how to move forward. People were telling me, man, you can't, why are you on stage? Man, that's like asking a fish. Why are you swimming? I needed that. I needed that.

I need to be a little. needed to do that. Yes. And then, you know, once I got back on tour, I took two months off that following year just to sit in the grief. Right. Because I didn't want to feel like I was running from it, even though I never thought I would. And one thing I accepted from the jump is that ain't no refunds. Ain't no do-overs, we can't bring them back.

So immediately I was just like, well, I just got to take this. Yep. And then, you know, I would have doubts of just like, well, do I want more children? Do I feel like, oh, I'm just trying to replace the rain because now I want all of a sudden, now I want some more children? I had just got a vasectomy before, you know, he passed, probably about a month before. So I was already closing up shop. But then when I lose them, I was I done? You know, all these questions.

Yeah. And, you know, I'm 49. I ain't no spring chicken, but I was just like, man, because some people, somebody said that in the comment section. You know, so you could add more kids, like on some replacement type shit. Yeah. Like, what? You know, and it's like those things. No, I'm good.

I want that one. Yeah, exactly. I want no more. I just need that. And it's like that thing where people talk about the little what-if scenario, they drowning. Are you saving your spouse or your child? Yeah. And I feel like everybody that says spouse, you ain't got no kids.

Like, that's the only way I can wrap my head around you. You pick. I don't care about the religious angle. I think Melissa. I said Melissa. That's crazy to me. But I think in, like in theory, I would say Melissa. Right.

But in practical. When you bring your children in this world, your first instinct is to protect them. You have to. So I feel like if it actually happened, I would go for it as anto-sides. Because when they were born and I was holding them, it's like, I got to make sure you are safe. You can eat. You have a roof, food, water. So they were all drowning.

I think my paternal instinct would jump in before my romantic instinct to say, Melissa. Obviously, we would want to say more, but like, them and my babies. It's the after effect, too. Yeah. Like, you're going to be paired with somebody that, you're going to be paired with somebody that, you're We brought these children here together. Right. I'm going to be with somebody that you better not save me and not save those boys.

Because if you save me, I'm not going to be the same. For sure. I'm going to be riddled with guilt. I'll just be sitting here. I'm going to be a shell of my former self. And I'm going to feel resentment towards you for saving me instead of the kids. So it's just like. Dang.

It's funny that you say that because you found out that your guy that raised you weren't your biological father. Yes. Did that change anything? Now, actually, well, that story is triple-layered because when I grew up, I grew up with Philip Baker. I got his last name. He raised this. I was out of his house every weekend.

And then later on, I find out that, you know, no, man, my brother told me, your dad is, Richard, he used to play in the NFL. He played for the Seahawks, the Bears, and the Eagles. I was like, what? He was like, yeah, you know what I'm saying? We got different dads. And so I was like, man, whatever.

It's by never said nothing to my mom. So when I turned 18, she was like, hey, you real dad is. Oh, Khalil told me already. And so in that moment, I was just like, but I'm good. I felt like I had a father. Right. I didn't feel a void. I was just like, well, all right.

That's why we look different. Right. Yeah, my oldest brother. Right. Fast forward to about 2011, I find out, no, no, no, when Antoine Fisher came out, right, remember that movie? Yes. At the end of that movie, I forget what year, 2003, 4th.

I cried hard when he found his real family. I was just like, and at this time, I wasn't crying in movies like that. I was taking movies to the chest. Like, I took boys in the hood, the Lion King, no tears. I cried. I was in there like, face crease, forehead, van. I was just like, and then I came out of that movie,

like, I do want to meet Richard. Right. You know what I'm saying? So I looked for him on the internet. He was a coach for a Canadian football, league team. He was on the staff. I showed the staff pictures that they got online. I was like, is this

Richard? She's like, yep, that's him. Called up there, contact. He's like, oh, I was looking for you. You know what I'm saying? His voice was soft than I expected. Like, it was mad soft. Because it was a big dude. I thought he was going to sound like you. He was like, I was looking for you.

And I was just like, what the hell is? Who's voice is this? I'm thinking about my voice. I'm just like, yo, what is this? And so we talked for a little bit And then he just wasn't a good communicator Like he wasn't reaching out I was like man I always got to call him

Yeah So I was like see this is what it was all It's meant to be Give me my sister's information so I can just connect with them And so I was just kind of turned off But I still hadn't met him in person Right 2011 he dies Heart attack and I was just like

And I still cried because I was like Man I didn't get a chance to see him face to face So I can see what I look like Fast forward again Shannon Sharp. 20, I do ancestry or whatever. I did my ancestry. Now, I'm noticing

like, you know, I got my son on there. Cicere, he's close. My brothers are there. So it's just like, all right, you know what I'm saying? And I kept seeing this girl creeping up on the common genes. Yeah. And then she was ahead of my brothers. And I was just like, whoa. I thought it was just a cousin.

Why she's so close? It was my son being hurt. So I reached out to her. I was like, hey, where are you from? We might be related. Where are you from? She didn't respond right away. I forgot all about it for a long time.

Then I checked back in and she had reached out. She'd go, oh, you know what I'm saying? I'm sorry. You know what I looked you up online and said? I think my dad dated your mom. We're from Chicago. That's all you needed. That was it.

Oh, my God. I was like, this is my damn sister. So I was just like, Yo, what's your dad's name? You know what I'm saying? His name is Thomas, you know what I'm saying? I was like, this was late at night. So in the morning, I was like,

Ma! You know somebody named Thomas Letcher? She's like, yeah, we've dated for a while, you know what I'm saying? Well, Surprise, surprise. Surprise. Surprise. So my father is Thomas, and I found him,

and he's still alive. He just celebrated his 90th birthday a couple weeks ago and I met him. I met him face to face. So I met my sister, my brother-in-law, my nephews,

and they just been over the moon about it. So life is crazy. So my dad's still, you know. He's 90s, so I'm just like, woo, that's a good genes for me. Great gene.
