Starting point is 00:00:35 on IHartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Welcome back to Debo and Joe. I'm your host, James Debo Harrison. I'm here with my co-host, Joe Hayden. Make sure you guys like and subscribe. You don't want to miss nothing, man. I'm feeling real good.
Starting point is 00:00:59 How are you doing over there, Joe? I'm feeling great, Debo. You know what, man? I like the way you came, so you know what I'm going to do? I'm going to go ahead and get right also. I see you guys to play. You know, I'm feeling good with my brownies. I'm going to go ahead.
Starting point is 00:01:12 This is how we're going to rock it out to go ahead pop off the show. Yeah, yeah, got to, got to. No question about it. Let's go ahead and get down to the nitty-gritty, baby. Listen, my stillis, because I see you got on your brown stuff today, my stillers went out there. And we went on and beat on the Patriots. I'm just going to say beat on because, you know,
Starting point is 00:01:35 them boys really couldn't do much, you know. When it came down to it, defense came out strong, you know. We go out there, second play, we got a sack. Yeah, third play. We should have had a pick, but that's cool because the next play, we went on ahead and made them boys fun with that rock. You know what I'm saying? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:55 It's easy work. Then we get the offense. They step out there. what they did. They said we to Pittsburgh Steelers. We play smash-mouth football. We go run this down your motherfucker. Okay. That's how they popped off. They, I ain't a lot. They did. They did. Seven plays, man. Seven run plays now. Seven run plays. Nine. Nah, nah. The defense, though, Debo, like you said, they popped off early. Turnover within the first couple of plays of the game. Look here, man. Look here, man. You're trying to gaze over there. Don't you be gazing over nothing.
Starting point is 00:02:28 Now, listen here. Got my man, D.K. in there early, right? When on head gave him a quick one, let him stroke out real quick. Through a deep one to him. You know, he was scared. Boy was nervous. That was huge P.I. And then what happened?
Starting point is 00:02:42 Seven. We did. They school? Yeah, baby. Yeah, baby. Next position. You know what happened. No, defense come out there, do what they got to do.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Get that sack on that third down. Hello. Hello. Still curtain. Tight. Like, they was part of the defense. Straight to the, yeah. Listen, man, I'm trying to tell you.
Starting point is 00:03:03 This is what's going on. Oh, man. Hey, offense comes right back out there, what they do. They say, you know what? We ran it down on you last time. We go, we go, we're going to go ahead and mix it up. We're going to mix it up a little bit, you know what I'm saying? But what we're going to make sure that we do is go ahead and get this, get this man involved.
Starting point is 00:03:23 That man, D.K., get him involved. 14. 14, nothing. right there beginning the second quarter touchdown dk yeah that was a nice that was a good pass good hey hey hey listen man i'm trying to take it that was beautiful that's what you do and you know things started to get a little yeah yeah a little you know new england comes out you know they go on ahead they get the first run was like 10 yards and you know i'm a little hesitant you know i'm pulling on my glass a little bit then the second you know the second play we let this quarterback scramble
Starting point is 00:03:56 for them. Like, come on. And then we go ahead and get a P.I. And we don't help them go ahead and score a touchdown. Get it all the way down there. Y'all left a man wide open in the flat. What is we doing? What is we doing? And then the office come back out and just do three and up.
Starting point is 00:04:12 We didn't get no answer. No, no nothing. Like, that's that's not what we do. That's just not what we do. So we've got to put the defense back out there at the three and out. And then the defense proceeds to let these boy go 17 plays convert two fourth downs yeah two
Starting point is 00:04:35 hold up two giant third downs dude long third downs and they got 20 plus yards on that dude uh-huh but but that's the bend but don't break hey hey like you said i was going to say the same thing hey you been you ban but you don't break what we do we took their hopes of away with a nice paul from Cam to interception in the end zone to end the half. Bro, that's two turnovers in the first half. Yeah, buddy. Taking away points. It's looking like real, some sort of real still of football there.
Starting point is 00:05:15 You know what I'm saying? I'm loving it, you know? And then we start off the second half. Yeah. What about that? A-Rod through the first pick. He threw, I don't, listen, he threw a pick. So this is what had happened.
Starting point is 00:05:31 He was looking and he kind of got, I think he got locked in and just went blank over there. That's the only way he could have did that, man. He could look at them. My man, Robert Splane, Splick Act, used to be playing linebacker for the Steelers. He fought that pick and tried to get busy up the sideline. Oh, no question. But like I said, you got the defense, you know, they're back out there. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:54 and what do they do what do we do go ahead and pop that boy Stevenson again get us another one come on back come on over here you know how they on the one yard go that chain get over here
Starting point is 00:06:08 that was him with that ball just get over here it was just giving it giving it up he couldn't hold it yeah bro it started looking like I thought I was running back the same play a couple of times like they just kept fumbling the ball
Starting point is 00:06:22 I'm like no this just happen we make it look the same when we go out there and do the same thing to you over and over again. You know what I'm saying? But then the offense go out there and they basically go three and out. It wasn't for a little penalty.
Starting point is 00:06:36 It would have been a three and out. And you know what happened then. What happened, Ebo? The defense had to go back out there. What we do? What we do? What is it? What was it?
Starting point is 00:06:50 Another bumble. That boy coughed that ball up again. I think you might have had COVID. That could only be, that could be the only explanation, you know what I'm saying? Maybe some type of, some type of cough medicine. So we get on out there again. You know, we didn't gave them a little,
Starting point is 00:07:09 you know, we didn't gave him some more opportunities. And the offense gives us three and out again. Okay. You don't give us three and out again. And what's the score at this point? It's the 14-7? The score of 14-7 right now, man. 14-7 right now.
Starting point is 00:07:23 And New England, comes out again 15 plays Brer how many fourth down conversions two fourth down conversions Brough that's what I'm saying Two one of them being the touchdown That brought it 1414
Starting point is 00:07:38 Exactly Man That's what that that was The distillers defense Doing great job but that's what I'm saying too A Rob when you keep saying we keep slumming over like Number three and now Number three and now
Starting point is 00:07:53 These are just opportunities where the Steelers defense is giving them the ball. You know what I'm saying? And I'm like, they're bawling out. We need something. Right. So I'm like, hey, at least I know the offense got to come back out here and give us an answer. Give us something. They don't give us nothing.
Starting point is 00:08:06 The only thing that helped extend the play was a PI. Like, that's the only thing. We had, what, two, three incompletions on there? I don't know what you are. I keep saying we. I see you got that brown stuff. I mean, we like us. I'm with you too.
Starting point is 00:08:21 I'm with you too. I'm still. I don't know, man. I knew you was going to go so hard with the stiller stuff. I'm just saying, man. You got to show my brown some love, too, always. Yeah, you know, then New England, they come back out there, man. They start moving the ball a little bit, man.
Starting point is 00:08:36 But who show up again? That defense. Always. Get that offense a nice short field. Is that the one with flop? Is that the one with a swap fellow on it? Yeah, boy. Offense come out there.
Starting point is 00:08:53 What they do? What they do? Tell them what they did. That's what they need. They scored. They answer with that touchdown. They answer. They answer with that.
Starting point is 00:09:01 And defense come back out there, and, hey, we finally stopped them when it really, really, really mattered on that fourth down. Yeah. They go out the game out, man. Mm-hmm. Like, you know. They were fourth and full on fourth until that last fourth when you had to play to get them off the field. Yes, sir. Yes.
Starting point is 00:09:17 Great tackle. Now, I'm not going to sit here and say. it was a it was a perfect game you know i mean it's some things that that we need to do um we still almost gave them three hundred and seven yards okay we need to improve on our run game defense for sure when it comes down to it we're throwing i think we're giving up a little over four yards of pop you got i think drake you know the quarterback he added probably 40-something yards of that just from scrambling you know if you take that away but you can't take that way that's part of that that's part of the game like we have to play well situational defense third and longs you know the fourth downs I think some guys were we're missing assignments because you got guys that are just blown open you know yeah so when you see things like that you know that's not that's not planned in the defense defense. I think we got to get, um, we still got to get better with, with being, you know,
Starting point is 00:10:30 getting, getting more pressure on the quarterback. But when you're ahead, you know, that's one the things we did well to, you know, this week is that we were ahead. We were able to get that pressure. You're able to take some, you know, chances, you know, depending on what it is. Yeah. And, uh, the offense, dude, the offense, they need to be more consistent. I just feel like if you could, if you could do that in that first quarter and, you know, make the thing run like that, you can do that for the rest of the game. It's about building the consistency of it, getting into, you know, getting into some type of groove. Run blocking always has to get better. I don't think we had too much of an issue past blocking as far as how, as how, as how, as how,
Starting point is 00:11:21 how bad as it had been, you know, the previous weeks. You see, you see improvement. I see improvement. I see improvement. But also, we were going against a defense that isn't, isn't the top defense. I think, you know, just in the last couple weeks, I think they may be 27, something like that total. It's only two weeks in, but it's still, you know, it's still telling. Yeah, no, I'm with you a thousand percent on that.
Starting point is 00:11:45 I think that my biggest take is the Steelers defense was mainly been, but don't break. You know what I'm saying? Like we said, they made the plays. They were very opportunistic, being able to punch the ball out, being able to create turnovers, that's huge. You know what I'm saying? Five turnovers in the game speaks volumes. But like to your point, big explosive plays, we just can't be giving up gashes of runs
Starting point is 00:12:06 at 10 yards of toes sometimes. Big plays in the back end just leaving people wide open. There needs to be a body on the body. If they make a play on you and it's just good on good, that's good, that's good. You know what I'm saying? But if somebody's running a Scott free down the field, there's a communication problem there. the era where somebody shouldn't just be running right down on our defense.
Starting point is 00:12:25 So I think the defense did really good just making plays turning over the ball. Five turnovers continue to get the ball to your offense is unbelievable. But the big plays, like just execution, making sure everybody's, a body's on the body. There's going to be plays made. They're going to, you're going to get more, somebody going to juke you, but that's when you're on that man. If there's somebody running Scott free down your defense into the flat, into the end zone, that just shouldn't be happening.
Starting point is 00:12:49 So then with the offense, I'll go to them. when the defense keeps giving you the ball this many times in this promise positions you got to keep the ball you got to not turn it over you got to score points you know what I'm saying so I think that the Alca's just being able to get a rhythm going be able to get some like when we were looking at it they would turn the ball over they would stop them and then next you know they would get a three and out you know what I'm saying that's not
Starting point is 00:13:11 a good feeling that's not a good vibe so defense was doing good they can definitely do better of matching up communication they can't give up those runs like you said big plays going down the field But my thing was more just offense. We need some type of rhythm. You know what I'm saying? We need something. Well, I mean, like I said, we did better.
Starting point is 00:13:27 This is the first time Aaron Rogers hasn't been sacked in the game since 2022. Oh, no, for sure, for sure. We said the past protection was good. Past protection, like we said, we're seeing improvement and for them to be able to go down there. And they were also doing like that run game alternative, the quick niles and all that, get it out of his hands. You know, that slows down people's rushes, you know. Yeah, they're trying to anticipate. Is it going to be that?
Starting point is 00:13:50 know, or is it actually going to be a past? So that's a big thing. Like you said, the five turnovers, that's huge. It's not like we're going to, you know, get an opportunity. I don't think to get five turnovers again in the game. But with two of those, you know, turnovers coming inside the Steelers' Five Yard line, you know, that's, that's crazy. Yes, that's something that you really don't count for. So, bro, what, the pick, like you're thinking that you're trying to at least, let's just make sure they get
Starting point is 00:14:20 three not zero and then two times in a row they get no points at all you know what i'm saying like that's that's great that's great defense yeah yeah so i said the assignment thing so despite the win cam hayward had this to say i think sometimes we were you know not paying attention to our assignments sometimes you can get a little thirsty in there you know what thirsty mean you're running for that sack you ain't you ain't paying attention to your assignment right there he says this is just going to be a sneak or a two, but then on the flip side, it can make you susceptible to big passes. We got to keep our, we got to have our eyes in the right place. And, you know, it's something, it's something we can learn from. Yeah. What's your, uh, what's your reaction to that?
Starting point is 00:15:08 I really believe that's exactly what he's saying. Like, that's the missed assignments, guys just, go ahead, you tell me what you are. No, you know, you know, you're saying that, go ahead, Bob, pop off. Yeah, it's just missed assignments. Guys are, when they say thirsty, thirsty means, you know, I'm out here either running for a sack when I should be probably squeezing down
Starting point is 00:15:26 to keep this gap closed from the running back being able to cut through it, things like that. So he's saying exactly what we were seeing. And, you know, like he said, it's something they can learn from. Hopefully they can get it done and fix it. Because that's, like you said, too,
Starting point is 00:15:46 That's an accountability thing, Debo. And you know, when you're a grown man, you watch a film and you watch a tape, and you know that you had to squeeze instead of trying to run for the sack, they can show that on tape. They see you run up the field. What are you supposed to be doing? I'm supposed to be squeezing. You know, I play the run first and rush to the pass.
Starting point is 00:16:01 Rush to the past. A lot of guys are just hoping, you know, they're guessing right that it's going to be that pass. And they run up field and they leave that gap open for that back to swerve back in two. And now, you know, before somebody get to him, it's another, you know, three, four, five, six yards. thousand percent he gets past you know the the first the linebacker inside backer they get him held up you know that's that's that's 10 plus before he gets to you know a safety or somebody that's a it's a it's a chain reaction because you got a de lineman got a the linebacker's got to trust if the de lineman's going to be in his gap
Starting point is 00:16:32 he's not just going to swing it to the next gap to his spot sometimes every play is not your play this play isn't your tackle to make and some do you trying to be thirsty and now i'm going to make all the plays this isn't your play to make if you make sure he doesn't come here the linebacker's going to fill right there and he's going to get a tackle and that's you did your job you know it may not show up in the stat sheet but the the team everybody knows that guy was blocked he had to come through mine because you was standing yours you know what i think a lot of guys fall into doing that especially when you're losing or you're not you're not playing well yeah a lot of guys are like you know what i'm trying to put this on my shoulders i'm going to do what's necessary but in that process
Starting point is 00:17:08 you actually leave your teammates out to hang because you're not taking care of your job The easiest and best thing that you can do is take care of your job. You do what you're supposed to do first and then help your partner. As opposed to the boat would always tell us, do your job first, and then you can help your partner. Once your job is taking care of, then you can help your partner. Don't try and go and do somebody else's job. No, for sure, because how are you going to build trust? He can't trust that you're going to be in your spot.
Starting point is 00:17:35 So now people trying to make up for what you're going to do, going away from their stuff. Everybody do your 11th. You know what I'm saying? If you do your job, then it's built for somebody else. You know what I'm saying? So not trying to make every play. Well, at least we know my guy, Aaron Rogers, he made history. Yes, he did.
Starting point is 00:17:55 He's fourth now all the time for touchdown pass in NFL history. When they asked him where it ranked in his career, he said, I mean, not super duper high. It means I played a long time. What do you take from that? You know, I don't know. I think he appreciates it, but just living in the moment. I know he thinks he got way more touchdown passes to throw. It's an individual award and it's in the middle of the season.
Starting point is 00:18:25 So I think he's just trying to just keep a team first. Just trying to keep that narrative off that he's really all about himself. I think it definitely means something to him. He's been playing a long time in the league. And it's a lot of touchdowns with not a lot of interceptions. His touchdown interception ratio is probably the best. ever to do it. So, I mean, I'm happy for him.
Starting point is 00:18:45 And I think he is too, but I think that he's just trying to take the humble approach and just try to be like, it really doesn't matter. At the end of the day, our offense isn't playing too well right now. I'm not going to too many touchdowns. Like, I had a touchdown past the DK and we had two touchdowns today, but it's not like he's used to throwing four touchdowns a game for 400 yards. That's just an A-Rod day. So him throwing 139 yards for two touchdowns in the pick,
Starting point is 00:19:07 it's nothing for him to rah-rah about. So he's like this, this is not the time. for me to go talk about how many touchdown passes I've thrown when I just do two, and I do 139 yards, two touchdowns in a pick, and our offense has to look that good. So I think he's, end of the day, Arod knows what it is. He's Arod, for sure, no matter what, can't nobody say nothing about it. But at this particular moment, they're not playing too good. He's not performing at his type of level.
Starting point is 00:19:31 So he's just going to take it the humble approach. Yeah, I agree with you. I think he's going and just, you know, he's not trying to put a lot of attention on that because that's something that you look at when you're done playing and say, okay yeah I did that right now you're in the moment your focus should be the next game and I actually I actually like that I like that quote I like that approach and um he's I mean just he's like especially he's especially the way they talk about him like how they say he is you know hear from that doesn't sound like the person that they you know try and portray him as you know
Starting point is 00:20:04 from other other media the stillers trod the Patriots though after the win they They posted references to actors with Boston ties. They had Matt Damon and Goodwill Honey, Mark Wahlberg, from the movie, Ted. And then the team shared a video of a W on wheels being parked at heart. Check it out. Harvard Yard They don't like the Patriots, man. They don't like the Patriots, man.
Starting point is 00:21:02 I was geeked up. They both in my interception back in 2018, burst them on their Instagram page. I knew they was like, yeah. I think that might have been the last time they won. Yeah, bro. Listen, I'm not, I don't know. I don't care about it one way or the other, to be honest with you.
Starting point is 00:21:24 Because I never watched Goodwill Hunting, so I don't know what the reference of that is. And the TED thing, I mean, it's corny. They look, he missed me with all of it, brother. Yeah. I was like this whole, though. It was weak. Yeah. I ain't going to lie.
Starting point is 00:21:42 They got a little weak media team over there. Ah, no. That, that, that, that, that, not, let me have to hold that. Listen, man. Listen, listen here. Let me, let me hit you with this. Let me hit you with this. So, so they're playing Seattle, right?
Starting point is 00:21:55 Mm-hmm. I'm at the game. They're playing Seattle. Things is going, you know, renegade. Yeah, yeah. These dummies. play renegade while their kickoff team is about to kick off to y'all to us oh no the Seattle Seahawks are on the sideline jumping up and down turning up in the nat house turn up who is in
Starting point is 00:22:29 control of that needs to not be in control of that no more that's not the right time never Never. Never. Never. You're hyping them up to go kick the ball off. I'm going to give you another example. When we used to play the Pro Bowl after the Super Bowl. So we won the Super Bowl. We went down there. That was like 2008 or whatever it was. And we down there, and you know how they introduce Ray when he come out in Baltimore? Yes. So we're sitting over there. You know, we're getting chummy. We're talking, whatever. and we made the mistake of telling them boys like, yo, hey, right, we like to see you come up out of there, boy.
Starting point is 00:23:13 You come down there, you get you some artificial grass. Y'all ain't even got real grass. They put you a clump of a real grass there. They put him a clump of real grass. They play him three songs. We like, dude, we'd be sitting over there. Would you guys consider anything less than a championship to be a failure from this year? I wouldn't say anything as a failure, especially because we all grow,
Starting point is 00:23:35 every day. Obviously, the goal is a championship. There's no doubt in that. And that's the goal. We want to win a championship. With the rookies, be like, hey, hey, watch when they car ring out. This shit going to get you hype, bro. Yeah, it's going to get you.
Starting point is 00:24:34 Man, they found that out. man, we ain't see Ray come out the tunnel again, man, when we played Boston. They smart, though. They smart. Yo, we ain't get to see Ray come out the tunnel again. We're like, yo, they go play three songs for this dude, man. He'll go come out to one.
Starting point is 00:24:50 He'll go look around. I said, they go play the other one. That's when he'll reach down and grab that grass. He walks that off again. As soon as they hit that third one, he'll go go ahead and hit the dance. That had to be the most lit intro. bro, he's like a wrestler.
Starting point is 00:25:07 That had us hype, bro. He was like, oh, yeah, we're about to smash these boys. That's his intro. That's crazy. Man, we ain't get no more defense intro when we played them, man. They was introducing the offense all the time, brother. Yeah, for sure. I'm not doing nothing to get y'all hype.
Starting point is 00:25:26 Man, we had a couple of season-in the injuries, though, man. Oh. Yeah, Natchez-Tor's Achilles, man. And James Connor, I believe this. something to his ankle. Dang. They don't know exactly, I don't think they know exactly what Connor did to us. But, uh, Nagei popped his Achilles, though.
Starting point is 00:25:45 Ah, damn, man. You can see, you can see it when he steps. Like, it's crazy. Oh, my goodness. Yeah, it's crazy. Oh, my goodness. Yeah, for sure. Really good, dude.
Starting point is 00:25:55 I ended up playing, I played with both of them. Did you, did you know, play with James or Najee? Yeah. I played with, I played with, uh, Connor. I didn't play with, uh, Conner. I didn't play with, uh, did. I don't think so. Both solid, solid, solid.
Starting point is 00:26:07 I don't think I did. I don't think I'm trying for speedy. So, you know, I guess now is the time to let you, you know, go ahead and talk about the brownies? The browns. Oh, okay. Yeah, so the Browns beat the Packers 13 to 10. Oh, such, you know, such a great game, you know, they finally got a win, you know. Hey, man.
Starting point is 00:26:35 And let me tell you something, Debo. Debo, it's my time real quick. It's my time real quick. All right. Any given Sunday is what I like to say. Because the Packers, the Browns weren't given a chance. Not a chance in the world to be. I ain't going to lie.
Starting point is 00:26:54 I gave them a chance, Debo. I promise you. And I'm going to tell you, listen, bro, I'm going to tell you why I gave them boys a chance. Why did you give them a chance? This is why I gave them boys a chance. Please tell me why. People don't realize this. But Cleveland, as of right now, that's number one defense, bro.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Yes. You're number one in the rush. And that's what I want to talk about. They're number three in the past. Uh-huh. Now, even if you go the last three games, dude, oh, well, maybe people ain't run the ball. They didn't do this. They didn't do that.
Starting point is 00:27:27 The last three games, they're still holding people to, like, 2.3 yards of pop. two, two, two, two, two, two, two, two, four, something like that, dude. The Browns? Listen, they played Cincinnati with a four team. Uh-huh. They played Baltimore. And now they just played Green Bay. They held Cincinnati to 46 rushing.
Starting point is 00:27:47 Uh-huh. They held the Ravens to 45 rushing. Uh-huh. Green Bay got the most at 81 yards rushing, which was still only like two five, two-six a carry. Yes. Nobody has gotten. more than 240, 240, 250 yards on these dudes. Well, like, this defense dude held the Ravens to 242,
Starting point is 00:28:11 Cincinnati to 141, and Green Blade to 230, dude. You held Green Bay to 230. It's looking like they just need the offense to not turn the ball over, bro, and the special teams to do their part. Like, this is. If the offense doesn't turn the ball over, man. The defense continues to play like this. They will be in the fight every game. And this is sort of scary when you think about it. This is what I'm trying to tell you, Debo. The Brown's defense
Starting point is 00:28:47 is always good, always solid. Not like this. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Not like this. No, no, no, no, no, no. But the Browns, they're always going to be competitive. And especially now with this defense with Malie Collins, with Alex Wright, with Miles Garrett, that pass rush, them getting after the quarterback, they were putting so much pressure on Jordan Love. He was uncomfortable
Starting point is 00:29:11 the entire game. And like you said, you meant speaking good facts about the way that their rush their rushing defense is good, their passing defense is good, their secondary, Greg Newsom, we got... They didn't play no bums now. They don't play it against teams that are good quality. And you know who else is hooping? My man, Delpit.
Starting point is 00:29:28 He's actually, ever since he Open his mouth, he's going to put eyes on itself. He's been doing nothing but hooping, making tackles, making game-changing plays, intercepting the ball. And then when he ran, did you see after he made the pick? And he ran and ran Jordan Love smack over. Get off me. Blum point in the skyline. I just lost his just everything.
Starting point is 00:29:47 You got to see them. Oh, it was crazy. So the Brown's defense plays unbelievable. And I'm super happy for that kicker, too, because he missed the extra point. And he missed the field goal in week one. People have been trying to get him fired. So my man Schmidt, shout out to Schmidt for making the longest field goal walk off and franchise history. Oh, I did not know that one.
Starting point is 00:30:08 Yes, yes, yes. So the defense just played so good that they only gave up 10 points. And in that fourth quarter, nothing, nothing at all. So shout out to the Brown's defense for coming out there and bowling. Shout out to the kicker for coming out there and making that game winning field goal walk off longest and franchise history. I'm just very happy for the Browns because the defense plays so well. The offense, they did what they had to do in certain situations. You know, bro, my bad, my bad, the rookies, Jenkins, my running back, number 10,
Starting point is 00:30:41 he put the offense on his back when he needed to. He was running that ball at the fourth quarter like a man possessed. So Flacco didn't really have to do too much. We just handed it off to the rookie, and he told us. He took us to the promised land on the offensive side. So shout out to him and the fourth. shout out the defense for the whole game, fighting, only giving up 10 points to the Packers.
Starting point is 00:31:01 Let's go back. Like 10 points and still only, what was it, 230 yards? Like, that's, to the Packers. That's crazy. That's just, I would, like I said, I thought, like they had a fighting chance. They just needed. I don't believe you. Not, dude, honestly, I swear.
Starting point is 00:31:22 I thought they had a fighting chance. I got to start. Before the week, before the week. Before the week starts, I'm going to start asking what are we thinking going into the game. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, I'll let you know. I thought they had a fighting chance, bro. And it was all because the defense.
Starting point is 00:31:35 As long as they don't turn the ball over, they get the defense a little time to rest, you know, try and get a field goal here and there, just, you know, get six, eight play drive, something. Give them time to recoup, get their stuff together and get back out there, dude. It's, yeah. That was a good, it was a good display on both sides. too, because at the end of the day, Green Bay, their defense only gave up. They gave up 13 points.
Starting point is 00:31:59 You know what I'm saying? They didn't do too bad. The Browns ended up, I mean, it was basically, Hey, it's a going to. Hey, the Browns defense outplayed Green Bay. They did. And that's really, that's really what it came down to, you know? Well, I, like I said, I gave my fighting chance, but
Starting point is 00:32:17 I didn't think they would win, but I did give them a fighting chance. I gave them a fighting chance. I gave a fighting chance. I gave, I'm like, yo, they got a fighting chance, but it's a lot of things that go into it, you know, especially when you're talking about the offensive side of the ball, you know. Yeah, I'm not going about to you. I didn't, I didn't expect the defense to hold Jordan Love to looking like that, especially like going into the third.
Starting point is 00:32:42 Jordan Love made a couple of errant decisions, too, running them to the sideline, not throwing them all the way, going into the fourth quarter, and then just a couple of those, like. I didn't understand that. Like, you right there. Oh, you're right there. Throw the ball out of bands. Sling it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:55 And then a couple of those dump, like a couple of those third downs pass to the running back, just high, just way out of bounds. Like, they couldn't even really touch the ball. So just a couple of those plays looked a little crazy. Then the game winning pick, then the play when he threw the slant right to him, like looking right at DelPitt, fell right off of his man and throw the pick. So I didn't think that Jordan loved. The Browns outsmarted him at the end and they just looked uncomfortable.
Starting point is 00:33:20 Yeah, yeah, especially like I said, the defense, it's just, dude, they, this was their first takeaway this year and they're one one three and you are just plus one or sorry you only have one you know takeaway this year on defense
Starting point is 00:33:41 do you know how like stellar and solid they got to be playing dude oh that's what I'm saying like Michael Parsons said after the games after the game sometimes sometimes just like today, you shit to bed. This is just the reality of it.
Starting point is 00:34:02 It happens to the best teams. Even the best Super Bowl champions make mistakes, and they pay for it early. You got to go back to the history of the champions who've played who of the history of the champions and who they've played in the games they should have won. It's just that competitive. I know what he's talking about for sure. Man, come on, Debo. We know it.
Starting point is 00:34:27 He said they shit to bed. They ain't, they ain't shit to bed. No, y'all walk into that stadium, them dudes get paid. And when you think about going against miles and all that stuff, you're walking in there 2 and O thinking it's sweet, you better go in there knowing you about to be in a real fight. No matter what, they record's talking about, this defense don't play. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:34:49 So if your office is like, oh, yeah, we've got to go in here, you know what I'm saying, figure it out, we're going to beat the Browns. no you're not you know what I'm saying every game is a different game any given Sunday that's why they really said because the levels it's it's so it's so competitive in the league and there's so much team like there's a balance like everybody's around the same everybody's salary cap is the same for a reason these dudes are getting paid also you know what I'm saying they may not figure out a way to always win it but once they get out there these dudes are hooping so you can lose any state you can lose any game that you walk into oh yeah no question it's it's
Starting point is 00:35:22 that it's just a small difference between you know a guy that's you know starting a guy that's on practice squad between the guy that's a you know uh on the edge of that of that pro bow or pro like it's it's not it's not it's not a lot of difference it's about working and and being able to be consistent like consistency is the is the hard thing i think i mean what is the average three and a half years is average NFL uh career so you know that's uh but the browns yeah i ain't gonna lie they scare me a little bit like i don't think i'm gonna be making no bets when when we play unless okay you know i talk to you i talked to you about that shoot me on shoot me offline so the eagles they they beat the rounds last second field goal got blocked
Starting point is 00:36:11 and then he ran it in he really didn't need to run it in so man he took that thing for six that's the big man was hauling yeah for sure they blocked two field goes right Yes. Yeah. Yeah. They got two field goals. Last time they blocked two field goals was September 21st, 75 against the Giants. Five years to the day, history repeated.
Starting point is 00:36:35 This time, walk off winner. Yo. Rams came in there. Go ahead. They did what everybody thought they needed to do to beat the Eagles. And that was stop Sequin. And it did not. It worked for the first half.
Starting point is 00:36:56 Yeah. It worked. It worked for the first half. And then your boy. Yeah. First. That boy went out there in the second half. I think the third court, he was like 10 or 12.
Starting point is 00:37:08 I think for the second half, he ended up like 17 to 24 for two, 10, three tugs. Like, and special teams come through at the end with the game saving block. Yes. like can he do it yes we just got the answer we got we didn't we didn't we didn't we didn't we didn't we didn't have an answer last last time we made this question but i think right now we got confirmation that he can that he can't get it done so what uh what did you think at halftime though bra like this is at halftime i'm thinking okay the rams defense they're stopping the run they haven't really thrown the ball they're going to
Starting point is 00:37:51 to have to open up the playbook. Do you know what I'm saying? Like, they're loading the box. We're not letting the ball go. I knew that they were Jaylor Hurts was going to have to eventually start throwing the ball. And what he did start throwing the ball, it showed Devonte Smith
Starting point is 00:38:05 and my man, my man, AJ Brown, were just playmakers. They were doing one-on-ones out there, one-on-one. They had them in one-on-one coverage because they were trying to stop the run. They were making sure they're like,
Starting point is 00:38:16 look, you're going to throw the ball. And when he had man-on-one-on-ones out there, AJ Brown was making those catch. and then getting yak. Breaking the tackle individual, get off me, and now let me get up the field. It was opening up the playbook. So then once they started doing that,
Starting point is 00:38:30 too high safeties. You can now run the ball and get better. So it was just able to, the offense. Dude, they only had 33 yards in the first half, and it was negative one yard passing. Brother, you have to do something. You had to change it up. They were smashing that run.
Starting point is 00:38:45 So then you had to let Jayle Hertz just use your weapons. Throw the ball. Like, if you're saying we know you can, You don't have to, but in this particular situation, the run is getting stopped. You can develop the pass, too. You can open up the run bypassing. If they had the thing boxed up, show them dudes that you can go one-on-one on the outside, and they will have to back up the safeties.
Starting point is 00:39:04 They would have to back up the corners. You know what I'm saying? Then you can start handing the ball off to Sequin. So I think, go ahead. I think the eagles did what people were allowing them to do at that time. And that was, you know, why would I complicate it if I know running this rock and doing a pass here and there is what's going to get it done
Starting point is 00:39:23 like that's you know it's simple you know like they said you know if you can't stop it why would I stop running it you know and we got
Starting point is 00:39:34 we got to the point to where they were like yo if you're going to beat us you're not going to beat us with him running all over us you're going to have to figure out how you go get that ball down the field and then they were like
Starting point is 00:39:47 oh shit oh we We do have AJ Brown. We do have AJ Brown. And you got to start asking, too. If you're down 26 to 6 or something like that, you, like, if you keep running the ball. Dude, 26 on the answer? Like, come on.
Starting point is 00:40:01 You eventually not going to score no points. I mean, the time is eventually going to run out. So you're going to have to start airing the ball. I think they did really good. They're being able to change it up from Jay LaHert showing. He can toss the rock. And then the Rams still played a good, they still had a chance to win the game. but the buddy blocked the field goal two special teams blocks they had two they had two field goal blocks
Starting point is 00:40:25 and then there was a bunch of field goals blocked this uh this sunday dude there was a bunch of them the games were crazy all of the football games are wild but then at the same time the rams i would say the reason why they had two field goal blocks and in the red zone they were one for four and scoring touchdowns they got field goals out of it but they got no touchdowns they got they got one touchdown and three field goals. That's 16 points. If you get two touchdowns, you know what I'm saying, and then two field goals, you lost by a little bit of points, but just not being able to convert in the red zone, being able to only come up with one touchdown out of four trips, you got to score on those drives. I think that's kind of what would hurt them also. Yeah, for sure, man.
Starting point is 00:41:09 I mean, like I said, he came alive in that second half. He actually ended the, they fairly ended the game with more passing yards than the Rams did 202 to 196. Like, that's crazy. A.J. Brown said it after the game. Personally, I truly believe we've got some good players on this team. And at times, you can feel like we're
Starting point is 00:41:30 being conservative. And I don't think it should be like that. Let your killers do their thing. Let your killers do their thing and play fast and play aggressive. Not saying that we haven't been, But me personally, that's what I would like.
Starting point is 00:41:48 So he's saying that they was holding him back. He's saying, well, they wasn't holding him back. They was doing what was working. You know, if I don't need to change it, why would I change it? Why would I complicate, you know, what I'm putting in if I know that these six plays is go get it done and ain't nobody been able to do nothing about it? So, I mean, I understand what he's saying. And I understand the thought process of just doing. doing what it is that's working and make them stop it before you change it.
Starting point is 00:42:19 I can see it both ways, but. I feel you. I think I can see the same thing you say in both ways. You're not, if you're going to run the ball and it's not aesthetically pleasing to you, it doesn't matter. As long as you're winning games, you're going to be able to get out of the stadium and it's working, but I can feel them when you're down by 19 points and you need to start airing it out. We need to have that option like, okay, now we need to start passing the ball.
Starting point is 00:42:41 You could do that a little bit earlier in the game, just knowing if, If the run's not working and they're manning up outside, don't run it when they're manning up outside, single high. Now let's go to the past. Just being able to kind of switch it up the looks from the defense kind of shows what we're doing. So I think just making sure that if the run is working, we're going to run the ball. We're going to do what we have to do to win. It's not because it's what looks good.
Starting point is 00:43:04 It's not because what everybody else is saying or whatever. What we're going to do is what we have to do to win games. Sometimes that's going to be throwing the ball a lot more. Sometimes that's going to be running the ball a lot more. But we have the options to do both. So just, and I fill them with just wanting to get more involved, wanting to do like, look, end of the day, when it's the second half, you see what I'm capable of when you do just throw me the ball. When the ball is in my hands, I can make plays.
Starting point is 00:43:26 So I understand what he's saying, but at the same time with the team, we're trying to win games. We're going to hand the ball off to Saquan. We're milking this clock. If they start coming up like this, I know what you're saying now. Obviously, we're going to get to that probably a little bit earlier. But it's only the third game of the season. They're undefeated. They're going through these problems while they're still winning games, so it's a whole lot easier to figure it out.
Starting point is 00:43:45 Yeah. I like an offense that runs the ball. That's just me because it gives you time for your defense to rest. And on top of that, it wears down their offense. It takes time off the clock. You know, everything if you can run the ball effectively is so much easier and it runs smoother when you can do that, especially, you know, you go six, seven minutes here. You know what I'm saying? You get two of those drives together, you know, and you're two, three, three, of those drives together and a half and, you know, the game, after two, three, we're into the second half already. If you were able to score touchdowns and your defense can get off the field and not allowed them to score, I mean, it's no need to, you know, stop doing what's effective. I'm with you, Debo, because there's nothing like a team running down your throat that you can't stop. Yeah, for sure. The clock is still running. They're head of the sticks. It's second and four. They run for five. It's a first down. There's nothing. nothing you can do about it.
Starting point is 00:44:46 It feels like, all right, let's rest step, let's get the head of the sticks. But every time they tote the ball, if they're headed the sticks and the clock is still running and they're just moving the chains, there's nothing worse than that. Then you're sitting there like this, guys, let's stop them. Like, what are we doing? Do something. Do something. Man, the Eagles got away with another tooth push, man.
Starting point is 00:45:07 They got away with a far starter in tooth push in the first quarter. Do you think it's time to ban the tooth push? I say review every tush push. You want to review and slow down when somebody is tackling somebody or you're calling some type of hip drop or something like that. Like you're reviewing that.
Starting point is 00:45:33 Review the tush push. Like you said, they can't move, period. They can't. The defense can move as long as you're not in the neutral zone. They can't move at all before that ball's snap. So I don't care if it's a split hair before. It's no
Starting point is 00:45:49 way you saw the ball move. You're just guessing. You're anticipating. You're guessing. Yes. So. That's like one of those drinks, I know, I was the edge on field go block. And some of those field go blockers, I mean, some of the holders, they'll look down, look up,
Starting point is 00:46:05 and flash the hand. And soon as that hand flashes, the ball is coming out. So we would be taught sometimes we go in there and study and coach you be like this. If I give you to go, go off the hand. Like if it's the game winner we got to get it man listen we're going to go at the same times as soon as he flashes the ball's coming we're not looking at the ball i'm looking at his hand that ball is going the same time you're taking off so i'm like there there could be some type of anticipation there on
Starting point is 00:46:28 the offense but that's not legal no question you can't move into that ball move can't move to the ball's not yeah they they clearly can uh can't get what can't even get that corrected after pointing it out you know what I'm saying yeah no I think they got to We've got to slow it down. It's a slow-mo, every touch push, and that'll make it fair. That's the only thing I can, I can see happening. Say that one more time. What will make it fair, Devo?
Starting point is 00:46:57 Review every touch push. Yes, yes. It should be an automatic review. You do a touch push, it's an automatic review. We've got to see if you off-size or if you fall start. And it can be quick review. Right. Like, we don't got to have a referee game.
Starting point is 00:47:10 Boom, boom. Boom, boom. We like this. Boom, boom. Look at that. Tell us. Boom, boom. You see.
Starting point is 00:47:14 Y'all got super-duper slow-mo. You saw a buddy take off or four. Riffing, bam, nope, jump, quick. Like, we don't need you to take all day. They see what's going on. Would you guys consider anything less than a championship to be a failure from this year? I wouldn't say anything as a failure, especially because we all grow every day. Obviously, the goal is a championship.
Starting point is 00:47:36 There's no doubt in that, and that's the goal. We want to win a championship. I'm Christina Williams, host of the podcast. In case you missed it with Christina Williams. Starting point is 00:48:27 Quick review. Listen, man, the Bears? The Bears. Oh, my goodness. And did that to them girls. That was the most surprise. That was the most surprise, man. That was crazy.
Starting point is 00:48:39 That was crazy. For sure. For sure. Caleb went on ahead out there. him out, folks tell you. I think he finally got the paint off his nails so he could throw that ball right. See, there you go. Worry about the wrong thing. I was just saying, that's, change the equilibrium, all that, you know.
Starting point is 00:48:54 I don't know. He went out there, buddy. Let me tell you something. That was crazy, though. Go ahead. What you think about, that was crazy, though, Debo. Listen, I'm not, I'm not even going to make like I expected that. I didn't, I didn't expect that.
Starting point is 00:49:10 And Dallas is, is not. not who we was thinking they might become and they are who they have been. And that is it, though. Like, I don't know, man. You let Caleb Williams go out there and, you know, he's the first player with 225 plus passing yards and three or more passing touchdowns in any half this season. He's the first one. The same guy that, man, he was.
Starting point is 00:49:42 having trouble the previous tree. He's having trouble the first two weeks. Bad. I mean, like, I don't understand it. And Dallas, their defense is just boo-boo, man. Like, it's bad. You got five touchdown passes on Dallas that are 25 yards or more. Like, this season, like, that's great.
Starting point is 00:50:03 Already, it's only three games in. Bro, it did not look good. From the, from the flea-flickers to people, People running wide open on overrout. Right. Dude. And then CD went on and got hurt the very first court. Like, that was bad.
Starting point is 00:50:20 Rode his ankle. We had George, he was doing something. But when you can't, the pass the DAC through to him, hit him right in the hands that turned into a pick, we just can't, can't be having that. So, yeah. And then CD Lamb, too. Like when we said they were getting bombed up over the tight ends and stuff running up the field.
Starting point is 00:50:41 we had my man Trayvon Diggs is slipping when they're playing man to man he runs like 10, 10 yards wide open down the field for the touchdown. Yeah, I think that was that flea flicker, wasn't it? No, no, no, the flea flicker, that was when the, he ran a big seven route on that. But I'm saying the one with CD was him in a number 50.
Starting point is 00:51:00 Oh, okay, I know. He went the quick jamming. He went the quick jammer. Yes, yes, yes. Just plays like that, man. And then on the officer side, they weren't really able to get anything too much going. You know, like, I mean, C.D. going down definitely didn't help George dropping some passes. But, I mean, well, it was still kind of late in the game.
Starting point is 00:51:22 Don't know if that would have been an actual comeback. But the one that tipped and got intercepted, I don't know if they still would have been able to. They wouldn't have been able to. You know what I liked that I saw Chicago doing when they got up and Dallas was trying to drive? They stuck with playing the defense. they have been playing all game. They didn't go to that sit back, keep everything in front of me
Starting point is 00:51:46 and inside defense, dude. Make them earn everything. Yes. Yes. They made them earn everything. And when it came down, and when it came down to it, they just couldn't,
Starting point is 00:52:00 they couldn't finish it out. It was too much. Plus, they had lost the number one receiver. So that looks bad. But Jerry, you know, he still believes. a cowboy or cowboys are playoff calendar. My braces be popping me up.
Starting point is 00:52:16 Despite the one and two start, man. He says they still play off caliber. What do you think? Man, what do you think? I don't think. They got a, they got to, you can't, you can't just be. I don't, I don't know. I don't, I'll say this.
Starting point is 00:52:40 Who do you think is going to make it from their side? I'm looking at you got Minnesota, you got Green Bay, you got Detroit, right? Washington. Detroit, Green Bay, Washington. That's for sure. How many is it six or eight? It's eight now, right? I think it might be eight now
Starting point is 00:53:12 They got a shot You know what, playoff caliber What you're going to do? What you're going to do? You can be playoff caliber But I don't think you're going to do nothing I mean, hopefully like, I mean Playoff caliber
Starting point is 00:53:25 The Cowboys are always Have so much talent So much talent Arizona and San Fran over there too right Yeah, I mean It's but let's see In the division They got to win
Starting point is 00:53:39 Either they win the division or get a, or get a wild-car spot. Who are in their division? That's what I'm saying. It's going to be, it's Philly? No, it's the commanders, it is the Giants, and it's the Cowboys. Yeah. They're coming in three, and then you still got, um, that's what I'm trying to say, man. I don't know about that.
Starting point is 00:54:03 They might not be. That's what I'm trying to tell you. It's going to be eight, and they're going to be playing at somebody else's, uh, venue. And then they're going, it's like, but then what? Do you know what I'm saying? All he was looking for was playoff caliber. All he's looking for is playoff caliber. Like, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:54:19 He knows the end of the day. I was watching the Jerry, the dynasty joint on the, on the Cowboys. Loved it. Amazing. Ain't no more dynasties, man. They can kick rocks. Man. It's all we're with.
Starting point is 00:54:32 The boys ain't been them boys since I was just getting in the high school. Jerry not tripping though. Because he got that dough. Jerry tripping, he want to win, man. Don't get me wrong. The dough helps. No question about it. He definitely want to win.
Starting point is 00:54:47 He definitely want to win. But I'm just saying, like, he's not going to get rid of any control. He's not going to let anybody else make any decisions. So he's going to do what he wants to do regardless. For sure. That's a given, though. But he wants to win, dude. I know I don't think he definitely wants to win.
Starting point is 00:55:06 I know he wants to win. I know it hurts when they don't win. It hurt bad. For sure. New Colts out here, man. They're doing things, though, man. They bopped on the Titans, man, 41 to 20. Like, I don't, what they got going on over there?
Starting point is 00:55:22 What's his name? You know his name, Debo. What's the quarterback name? Danny Jones. Jones, man. No, it's Danny Dimes. For now, we're going to call it Danny Dimes. Brough, I don't.
Starting point is 00:55:35 He's pulling the Sequan Barkley, okay? Yes. He had to get out of New York. Had to. Sometimes. Like, what's over there in New York, man? I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:55:47 I ain't been there. I ain't been there in the Giants Lock. I ain't been there, so I'm not going to speak on them about something I don't know. But I can tell you. The coach is doing something. Wow. I think they punted, what, the first time this week? Oh, yes.
Starting point is 00:56:00 Was it one or, they only punted one or two times this week? Like, two punts all season. Two punts in three games, brother. like that's efficiency that is keeping your defense off the field that is putting you in a position to win that is everything and we're not Jonathan Taylor
Starting point is 00:56:19 I mean when you had that did you see the run do like they didn't I don't a bowling ball like they couldn't do nothing with him like he was breaking everything running through people bro right running through him past them yes
Starting point is 00:56:36 they look they They look good. They look good. Danny Dimes out there throwing a ball beautifully. And then with Taylor, you know what I'm saying? Being able to tote the ball so good. Like, I like what they got going on over there. And sometimes, like you said, it wasn't Daniel Jones, obviously.
Starting point is 00:56:51 Sometimes you got to just change your scenery. Go somewhere else where you don't feel like all of the, it's not all on you. You got people that are doing their jobs around you. They're 11th. All he got to do is his thing. Bing. Bing. John Fettler.
Starting point is 00:57:05 They were about to fire the gym. and the head coach over Sequine last year. Now, hold up. Now hold up. Now, then he dimes. Hey, y'all ain't doing something right over there, man. Y'all ain't developed. I don't know what's going on, but something got to change.
Starting point is 00:57:32 I don't know. Listen, you don't have two come out. And a boy got a Super Bowl. And he over there stroking that thing. Like, I thought that he, he would have been out to leave by now. And now he'd go over there and just revamp. He's in the NBA, he raised. Wasn't Richardson over there or something take the job from him?
Starting point is 00:57:55 Yeah. Yeah. And they was laughing like, oh, now you got Richardson and Daniel Jones fighting for the starting quarterback position. Like, all right, now they look amazing. Daniel Jones has done nothing but perform. I'm like, I'm super happy for him. Because sometimes, like you said, it's the scenery. Like, he's nothing, that's the same Daniel Jones that was in New York.
Starting point is 00:58:15 Maybe it was too much to see in New York. That was the thing. Everybody see too much. And then you get something that was a little less, get to. A little more chill. Yeah, a little more chill. Just go to Indiana and you can go, you know what I'm saying? Go see the Pacers.
Starting point is 00:58:28 Go check. And then, you know, vibe up. Handle business. You ain't got to worry about, you know, paparazzi and all that, huh? Oh, you ain't got to worry about the New York life. all that too much like his eyes big dude russell over there right now
Starting point is 00:58:42 he he getting booed by the Giants fan they they howling for Jackson dark like the Chiefs went over there and beat the Giants 22 to 9 little sideline scuffle little sunny scuffle you know Kelsey Kelsey and Reed they like to bump chest is everything now I need
Starting point is 00:59:02 you know that just get them going I think just go rejuvenate them get them, get them where they need to go. They got, they got a tight bomb, bro. Those dudes are homies. They talk and they kick and they're going to be good. Yeah, bro. So they said he's going to get him fired in no way.
Starting point is 00:59:24 Who? They said, they said, I believe it's either Rush or Daniel Jones, one of them, either the way Rush planned or the way, Daniel Jones is playing one of them or both what's your boy name?
Starting point is 00:59:47 Daibo? No, Debo. Daybo? No, Daveo. Yeah, Debo, yeah. He better... They might get a model. And Daibo might be looking for a new job
Starting point is 00:59:56 after this year, man. It ain't... It ain't looking too sweet over there. Did they win a game yet? no and Russell looked but like I think they tried to get Russell a little leash Russell out there running people out to dry they're trying to kill he's trying to get receivers he's trying to get people killed
Starting point is 01:00:17 he got itself some string because of last week when he made them two when he brought them back with those bombs to keep them in the game they still end up losing but it looked it looked like I thought they was going to beat the Cowboys last week and then this week it just got ugly out there. I think maybe every
Starting point is 01:00:37 buying me through was either intercepted or way off. I seen him do that like with the Steelers like he would throw a pass and it's like you're not even giving
Starting point is 01:00:46 a guy a chance to even catch it because it's like so far off or out of bounds. I don't know if that's just him not wanting to get an interception or I don't know
Starting point is 01:00:56 what it is. No, because that's normally his best pass but did it was he getting hit was the pressure looking like was the pressure looking crazy not really yeah not really bro they got to get up out of there i don't think i don't think brine did give they ball up out of there man he didn't he didn't let daniel jones go and he didn't let
Starting point is 01:01:19 say quine walk isn't that more too isn't that some of their management balling they both bawling crazy bowling both of them were not like up for MVP bowling Everybody was talking about, oh, Danny Dynes was, hey, man, he ain't, go on ahead, get rid of me. He can't, he can't play in the league. That's what everybody was saying. Like, nah, this right here, this right here tell me, something ain't being done correctly over there.
Starting point is 01:01:51 Like, this dude playing at our MVP level right now. Oh, if you just took away the name and didn't know it was him and said, Hey, his numbers. That's the crazy thing. I'm like, it's Daniel Jones. Yeah, that's what's messing with you. You got to take the name away and just look at the number, dude. That's where you got to go blind stats with it and you be like this.
Starting point is 01:02:12 Oh, man, that dude right there is balling. And then you'll see his picture. Daniel Jones, you like this. Damn, that's Daniel Jones? He's hooping. So he's deserving his numbers. If you didn't just take it away from him of the history of you know about him, that dude's bawling right now.
Starting point is 01:02:26 Dude, you know, it would be wild. Coats. Eagles Super Bowl That'd be crazy What is the Colt Being being the war horses Everybody getting fired
Starting point is 01:02:44 Colts win the Super Bowl Bro Daniel Dimes And everybody from Everybody from over in New York is getting fired Because they don't let go With two Super Bowl champions
Starting point is 01:02:53 Try Trying to get somebody five, man. Don't be doing that. Don't be doing that, man. You don't want to say that. Hey, I'm just saying, if it was me, I would, I can't own a team, though, because I think I would. I wouldn't hire that type of, I would, I think I would, I felt like I would know better.
Starting point is 01:03:22 I would know people that know ball and know how to, how to use and, and, and, and, and, compliment their players. You know what I'm saying? Like, you got to make these guys feed into believe something. You know what I'm saying? Like, I don't know. I think when you get players that are respected, that can actually coach and you make them coaches and you have players coming in that know them as a level of respect
Starting point is 01:03:54 and admiration that comes with that just from that being your coach, you know what I'm saying? like you know yeah yeah and i think that you know it's something that i don't know if a lot of owners or or uh head coaches that are in that position actually look at um but it's an automatic like buy-in you know what i'm saying like you got you got joe hayton he coaching the corners you know what I'm saying like that's an automatic buy in
Starting point is 01:04:33 because I say that you look at your body of work and say okay he could tell me something that maybe fucking impossible or close to impossible but he's telling me this because he's done it he knows it's difficult that was one of the things with
Starting point is 01:04:48 Coach Bucks I was like Buss is the greatest lineback coach I ever had and I'm like it's easy to relate to him because he's going to be like, yo, I know this is hard. I know it's difficult, but this is what I need you
Starting point is 01:05:03 to do or at least try and get done. I know it's hard. We've done it. Everybody got something a little dirty about their job. Yes. You know what I'm saying? Like sometimes as a corner, you got to come in there. Well, you used to be able to cut
Starting point is 01:05:19 them down, but now you're risking your life running up in there on that suite. Right. Sometimes you got to go there. You know what I'm saying? man. It's the, it's the same thing with, hey, sometimes you go be sitting in that six and the tackle and the tight end, go double you. You got to find a way to hold that. You got to grab for dirt and stay in there. If you get blew out of there, you're leaving your other teammates out to dry. Exactly. Yeah, and that was good. Like the New York, the Jets coach,
Starting point is 01:05:47 Aaron Glenn, he was my defensive back coach at Cleveland. And like you said, and then a Cordell Lake was my defensive back coach for the Steelers. Those two dudes just being able to tell me like you can't cover everything but when I tell you like at the end of the day on this coverage we're not allowing this but if this happens, catch and tackle move on to the next play.
Starting point is 01:06:10 Like some coaches would tell you that you got to be able to cover everything but if you're trying to cover everything you're not covering nothing. Hey, listen, coaches are trying to tell you man they don't make sense with that. Coaches that try and change defenses like the defense is how it is
Starting point is 01:06:24 but you want to change it. to catch this one nuance and that was something that Coach LeBaud would tell us. He'd be like, okay, look, we go run this defense and every defense has a weakness. Once you try and cover that weakness, you make another two or three
Starting point is 01:06:40 that you got to cover. So he's like, yo, we're going to run this defense. Coach LeBoe didn't even use a call sheet, dude. He'd be on a sideline like this. Like, all right, what they got out there. Oh, it's 22 personnel. All right, we go run this right here. Bye, blah, blah.
Starting point is 01:06:55 Go out there and run. and he'll tell us we get in the film room hey okay i called blah blah blah right here hey this play is on me i know they got i know they got eight yards this on me you know what i'm saying so like dick lebo's defense dude when it is ran correctly pure as he has assigned it that thing is unstoppable dude it's unstoppable i love it the way to they because they're in the way that they coach it too like you said knowing that something might something might pop off and the coach being able to take accountability that we can't cover everything but on this play we just get them on the ground get to the next one all right that's on me that's on the call like that's what
Starting point is 01:07:33 that's our weakness right there they hit us right so that's a good play sometimes they can they they're going to win some but we're going to win more than they do you know what I'm saying it's like it's a chess game out there no question dude hey look here man we're running over right here oh yeah we're over listen we want to thank you guys for joining us for this episode of Debo and Joe, and hit the like button.
