Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an iHeart Podcast. I'm Andrea Gunning, host of the podcast Betrayal. Police Lieutenant Joel Kern used his badge to fool everyone. Most of all, his wife, Caroline. He texted, I've ruined our lives. You're going to want to divorce me. How far would he go to cover up what he'd done? The fact that you lied is absolutely horrific.
Starting point is 00:00:26 And quite frankly, I question how many other women are out there that may bring forward allegations in the future. Listen to Betrayal on the iHeart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Amy Robach and TJ Holmes here. Diddy's former protege, television personality, Denity King alum Aubrey O'Day joins us to provide a unique perspective on the trial that has captivated the attention of the nation. It wasn't all bad,
Starting point is 00:00:56 but I don't know that any of the good was real. I went through things there. Listen to Amy and TJ presents Aubrey O'Day, the Ditty Trial on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. What happens when we come face to face with death? My truck was blown up by a 20 pound anti-tank mine. My parachute did not deploy. I was kidnapped by a drug cartel. When we step beyond the edge of what we know...
Starting point is 00:01:23 I clinically died. The heart stopped beating. Which I was dead for 11.5 minutes....and returned. When we step beyond the edge of what we know, and return, Alive Again, a podcast about the strength of the human spirit. I host a podcast called A Slight Change of Plans that combines behavioral science and storytelling to help us navigate the big changes in our lives. I get so choked up because I feel like your show and the conversations are what the world
Starting point is 00:01:57 needs, encouraging, empowering, counter-programming that acts like a lighthouse when the world feels dark. Listen to a slight change of plans on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. I feel like you're the one and I'm on one, so what is gonna be? Baby squad, I'm on one, so what is gonna be? turned into a full-on production. Think billboards, exotic cars, rented animals,
Starting point is 00:02:46 and influencer-level videography. What used to be a sweet high school tradition is now a viral performance. But here's the real question. Are these teens celebrating love, or are they being pulled into a clout-chasing culture too early? It have, yeah, do y'all, it gets...
Starting point is 00:03:04 Over. It's year-, it gets crazy each year. Pure entertainment, I look forward to it because it is a show. The promposals all the way into these extravagant sendoff parties and musical. I mean, I saw camels. I saw, I've seen the top exotic vehicles, by the way. I've seen runaway collection pieces from Louis Vuitton.
Starting point is 00:03:31 And, I mean, you name it, all the diamonds and the dancing and... I'm trying to see where the hell they get this money from. That's another thing. I don't know if this is just... Suprem is the end-all beyond celebration. Okay. Like, are the parents the ones that are like, I don't know if this is just, prom is the end all beyond celebration. Like, are the parents the ones that are like, let's do this because...
Starting point is 00:03:52 It's like parents go broke trying to make sure they, they kids have the best, the top, like they trying to make it to the shade room. Your goal, I heard my daughter talking, she was like, ooh, I should be this extra, I'm trying to make it to the, I said, girl, no, you ain't. With what money? This is your, this is your budget.
Starting point is 00:04:12 And that's it. Like, we're not going out. I don't know, but like, whole, like, free prom parties and stuff. Yeah, that's what I'm doing. They have a whole... You're paying a whole... I'm doing pre-party for the adults, for the kids. See, what about pre-parties? adults, for the kids. See, what happened? Pre-party goes, everybody just meet at somebody's house,
Starting point is 00:04:29 and then, you know, you're hanging out to ask. It's not even popular like that. We had those type of cars. We had the extended limo. See, the stretched limo. You look lucky to get that. Right. That was hourly, by the way, and that's Uber.
Starting point is 00:04:47 And then we all went to Maggiano's. The dress came from, the dress wasn't no custom made dress. It came from dealers and they look prompt. Mine was custom, but not this level of custom. This is over the top. I'm from the country. We ain't have no custom shit where I'm from. You had a celebration. You know, like, let me tell you something. It's the end of the year party.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Like there ain't no party. There I'm from. You want to celebrate. Let me tell you something, it's the end of the year party. Like they're every once dressed up to the nines. When else are you going to dress up? Now I'm not, I'm been blessed that Deuce and Array's prom was very manageable. I think that's just how it is over here. Just trying to keep it manageable and we have fun. Because the after-party is the most fun anyway.
Starting point is 00:05:27 The problem is just I, you know... What's happened after-party? Ari had went to the after-party. Who's the who's going after-party? The teenagers, parents, home. Whoever the parent is, the teenager, whoever's sponsoring, the parents of that teenager who's sponsoring throwing it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Where is all this? Where is all the money coming from? It's a lot. It's too much for me, and we're not doing it. Deuce is very smart. He was like, no graduation party for me, none of that. I just want this car. Thanks. Okay. Zeus was very smart. He was like, no graduation party for me, none of that. I just want this car. Thanks. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:14 I told Ariyama, I said, you're gonna get your Chanel bag. That's your graduation gift. She wanted her Chanel bag. I love that. And your car that you got, that Tesla that you got for Christmas, that was your Christmas gift, your graduation gift, your going off to school gift. Don't ask for nothing else. And that's her car. She can have that forever.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Take care of it. That's her car. For me, this is a bless. They are. I was like, girl, I ain't getting no... I had to buy my own car. Once I went to the military, I had to buy my own car. Like, I didn't get all this that y'all had own car. Once I went to the military, I had to buy my own car. Like, I didn't get all this that y'all had to make.
Starting point is 00:06:49 They do. Our kids live a life. But you know what? It's better. I look at it like this. The whole point is to improve, right? And do better for your family. So I sit back sometimes and I'm like, wow, we're so blessed. Like, look at this. I had this car, they're getting what they're literally their dream car. It's like, look at this. I had this car, they're getting what they're literally their dream cars. Like, look at that.
Starting point is 00:07:07 But you know what? It's kind of, it's like a, it's a gift and a curse because I know this with my kids, they are so spoiled. Like I always said, you know, I want them to have a better life than how I had and I gave them that life. But now it's to a point where I feel like I have to remind them, like, you have to work, money don't fall from a tree. You have to work for what you want. And I feel like a lot of times, they turn into spool brats. And it pisses me off. Yeah, very entitled, very cool. And I don't like that. So I have to pull myself back in and remind myself, like, eventually they're gonna be adults and you're creating monsters. So everything that they ask for, don't feel bad that you don't give it to them.
Starting point is 00:07:57 Make them work for it. So that's why I have to remind myself, because I feel guilty when I can't, when I don't, I'll say no and I don't stand on business. That's mom guilt. That's mom guilt. I don't know, it's like... That is tough. But it's hard because I'm like, I'm raising an aunt, she's an adult, like she's basically...
Starting point is 00:08:16 And I have to make sure that you know how to make decisions. It's not gonna be giving, you can't call me every time now because you gotta find a job. She didn't want to work. It's like, I want to focus on school. I want to do this. Like girl, when I was 16, I had a job. When I wasn't going to school, I was working double shifts at Taco Bell.
Starting point is 00:08:36 Right. Like, I need you to have that same drive that I had. Yes. At least something, at least where you can balance. Like, look, I have X, Y, and Z, so at least meet me halfway. That's what I like to tell my children too, like meet me halfway. I was like, girl, I had put up a Twitter post. I was like, you haven't made, like your credit is amazing.
Starting point is 00:08:55 I made sure when you were 16, I put her on my, as an authorized user on my email. She don't know, but I put the card and her name and I co-signed for her. And I paid that sometimes three times a month, two times going to the principal. Like, you haven't made, you... I basically said to her, you set her up.
Starting point is 00:09:15 Like, now, do something with it. Don't feel... She won't. I know she won't, but it's just hard. It's so hard because, you know, they can make the, just one wrong decision or their mentality because they're so school can ruin everything.
Starting point is 00:09:32 So it's just like, I'll reinforce, like, now it's go time. The ball is in your court now. Now you got to make decisions. You're going your own. Be here to support you, but... They realize that adulting is not fun. It's not. It's not. It's not fun. Yeah, my kids are a little younger than y'all,
Starting point is 00:09:51 but I'm a little worried because, you know, they are around other kids who, you know, they are like, you know, I know they're gonna be driving the nice cars and getting like, you know, I know they're going to be driving the nice cars and getting like, you know, whatever they want really. And that ain't happening over here. You know what I'm saying? So I don't know.
Starting point is 00:10:13 I don't know how that's gonna work out, how it's gonna play out. You know what I mean? Like we are very much, you know, trying to, you know, keep them humble and like make them work for everything. And like, they ain't about to be getting no brand new BMW, Audi, blah, blah, blah. All these cars, these kids out here driving, that's not happening. Like, you gonna work for your car, like, it's gonna be a nice, get you from point A to point B type of situation, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:10:41 And so, I don't know what, how, like, I don't know what I'm in for, child. If the prom is, y'all have pre-prom parties and after parties and all this stuff to worry about. I'm glad you got the dress. Oh, Mikey, just the powerful words of budget and no are coming handy. And my thing is this, this is what I ask for. I need my diploma,
Starting point is 00:11:05 I need my grades, I need my eligibility. And then the world is yours. Like, obviously, we set our children up to go to the best schools and to be taught by the best. So we're like, look, we are investing in your education for them to be good humans. So the work ethic, time management, keep your room clean, be organized, check in.
Starting point is 00:11:25 Those things are equal value to me of like, you know, giving them that rearing that they need to be good kids. So I feel like it's a balance with all of it because they do have abundance. The blessing is we can give them, you know, good food, dining experiences, traveling, exposure to the world, all these things. But I think we're doing a great job of really, dining experiences, traveling, exposure to the world, all these things. But I think we're doing a great job of really, you know, raising good kids
Starting point is 00:11:51 that are well-rounded and can talk to adults and show up and be themselves and be confident. So I think that's in the testament to us too. Yeah. Going back to the prom, I just feel like we are setting our kids up for failure. And it's mainly, you don't see this in other culture communities. Like it's us, like why we got to spend so much? You know, we can put that towards a trust fund. It can go towards a savings account.
Starting point is 00:12:22 Like college is expensive. Exactly. It's spending money. Half the kids look like they ain't going to damn college. They were all this from, like, this is the end all be all. Like, this is it. That made it. Why are we doing this?
Starting point is 00:12:37 Why are we creating this for our kids? I don't like it. I mean, it's cute and everything, but when you think about it financially, from a financially standpoint, it makes no sense. And that's what we gotta get out of. Stop spending money on materialistic things for a show. We're teaching our kids, like, this is okay. And we're not our kids like, this is okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:06 And we're not going to break that cycle of the generational curse of being broke, living paycheck to paycheck, trying to stunt for Instagram and not really doing it in real life because we're teaching them that everything is for show. And we're basically, we're teaching them that everything is for show and we're basically... We're enabling them down. And it's not good. I don't like it. It's in excess. It's really just... To me, it's mimicky of like just rap culture in a way, you know?
Starting point is 00:13:40 Like, I saw stacks of money. Like, what are we doing? Like, what are we doing? Everyone's stuntin'. Like, it's a video shoot very much. I mean, at least one thing I know is we're putting money back into our neighborhoods. Oh, is it the white kids do, or is it just our people doing all this?
Starting point is 00:13:56 I haven't seen. I haven't seen. They ain't no white kids. No, it's just us. It's just us. And also, a lot of them in Florida. I've seen her like, Florida. It's the king...
Starting point is 00:14:09 The king of... Um, what? Oh, no. Okay. And there's a rival. They have just changed the whole culture. Yeah. It's like a big competition. It's for class. It's for that one shining moment. The end all, like, you know, the graduation prom, we dressin' up. I mean, I saw some gowns.
Starting point is 00:14:35 I saw some gowns. I saw one guy had a tie that was like extremely long, like all the way across the room. That's some country ass shit. I saw it all, like... And maybe don't close, it's a lot. I just... The parents need to chill. I really feel like it's the parents.
Starting point is 00:14:56 Yeah. This can't be something at all. This can't afford all that mess. Yeah. Why are the parents, they don't have no life. Y'all don't have no life. If y'all do it on... Yeah. They're not wearing these again. When are you gonna wear it again?
Starting point is 00:15:14 I feel like they living through their children. They wanna be influencers, they wanna be famous, they wanna go viral, so they're doing it through their kids. And that's weird. To be out there, use them in that way. Like, because one, you're, you know, you're setting them up for, not failure,
Starting point is 00:15:35 but, you know, an unrealistic thing for them. Trying to keep up with, you know? So, I don't know. It's just, it's just all bad, all bad. What do they say? Keeping up with the Joneses. Yeah, that's exactly what's going on. Yeah. Well, that won't be happening over here at the Wheeler household.
Starting point is 00:15:57 We're gonna just have a regular degular send off to the prom. That's how it was. Two out of four for me, so... Yeah, easy. That's how it was. I took Ariana, I drove. She didn't wanna go with anyone. I mean, her boyfriend graduated early. He played for University of Georgia. So she just wanted to show up and I drove, I was there for her. And I can't get her, she's such a sweet. Yeah, she was like, that's fine.
Starting point is 00:16:27 So I was good. She was so beautiful too. She did, she did her big one. Yeah. The only thing she spent the most money on was her dress. And that wasn't, I mean, that was like $2,000. It wasn't bad. My mama wouldn't buy me no damn $2,000 dress.
Starting point is 00:16:44 I think I had, I think my mama gave me like, I think $300. And that was a splurge. Yeah. I was, listen, we had, did you have the little, the water, the banana falls, how the updo? We had the, what is it like a corn roll? Not a corn roll, shit, a We had the corn roll. What is it, like a corn roll? Not a corn roll, a French roll.
Starting point is 00:17:07 French roll. No, pin curls. Pin curls. No, I didn't do the pin curls. I bought less than a fresh pressed, silk pressed type of girl. You got that long, you know. I went shopping to go look for a prom dress,
Starting point is 00:17:23 and I didn't really see anything I liked. So I did go to the fabric for a prom dress, and I didn't really see anything I liked. So I did go to the fabric store with a seamstress. And then we picked out fabric and a pattern, and I did a couple fittings, but it wasn't overpriced. I had a budget with my mom and dad, and so was able to get it done. I think I had my... I have to pull up some pictures,
Starting point is 00:17:43 but we might need to show your prom pictures. I only went to the prom once. I went my 11th grade year. The guy who was Mr. CHS asked me to go with him. Oh. This is pressure. Y'all know when the Mr. School asked you to go, it's like, oh, I gotta look good. Like, ma, I need to go to the prom and I gotta look good because I'm going with the prom mrs... Oh, no, it was the prom king.
Starting point is 00:18:09 I'm going with the prom king. I need to be looking cute or whatever. So, I begged my grandparents, and my grandma is a faithful Dillard shopper. Uh, Dillard. Dillard, my mama's Dillard. She'll do. The go-to, the go-to. She'll do like Dillard. My grandma took me to Dillard, Dillard. Dillard, my mama loves Dillard. She'll do. The go-to, the go-to.
Starting point is 00:18:26 She'll do like Dillard. My grandma took me to Dillard's. And I traveled. My dress was cute, though. It was fitted. She, you know, she tightened it in a little bit. My grandma got my little Dillard's dress, and I was cute. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:18:40 Deuce had me write his promposal on the old-fashioned poster board. He took his date, his potential date, Chick-fil-A for lunch, and it was like in that whole like Chick-fil-A theme. And that was on a Wednesday and prom was on that Friday. Okay. He had some things on. And he went... and prom was on that Friday. Okay. He asked me to turn around. And then it was easier with him because he had a suit already, which we have,
Starting point is 00:19:12 and then we just went and got him some new shoes. Well, I took him to go get some brand new shoes to match her dress that she already had, because they were gonna go separate. So I do like the prom puzzles. We didn't do that. Did y'all have that back in the day? How did you get asked to go to prom?
Starting point is 00:19:28 Did it be smart or cute? Ma just asked me and went no thought into it. He was just like... Yeah, I think it was just like, we going together, like... Oh, I had a good one. I had a good one. I had it. It was, it was, when I would hoop, it was a big rival game. It was Desi Vista versus Mountain Point High School.
Starting point is 00:19:46 And the girls would go first, like varsity, and then varsity boys would go right after. So the... The... Our gym is packed, and halftime of the boys... Uh, the boys' game... My... At friend's time, Jeremy was like, asked me to prom over the loudspeaker with the...
Starting point is 00:20:09 I forgot about that. Oh, that's embarrassing. It was embarrassing, but I was like, yeah, let's go. We'll go. But it was just like, I'm all sweaty from post game and like, it's a rival game. Probably dropped some double-double on them one time.
Starting point is 00:20:25 But it was fun and ended up having a good time. I'm Andrea Gunning, host of the podcast Betrayal. Police Lieutenant Joel Kern used his badge to fool everyone. Most of all, his wife Caroline. He texted, I've ruined our lives. You're going to want to divorce me. Caroline's husband was living another life behind the scenes. He betrayed his oath to his family and to his community.
Starting point is 00:20:54 She said you left bruises, pulled her hair, that type of thing. No. How far would Joel go to cover up what he'd done? You're unable to keep track of all your lies, and quite frankly, I question how many other women may bring forward allegations in the future. This season of Betrayal investigates one officer's decades of deception. Lies that left those closest to him questioning everything they thought they knew.
Starting point is 00:21:22 Listen to Betrayal on the iHeart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Listen to Amy and TJ Presents, Aubrey O'Day covering the Diddy Trial on the iHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Have you ever thought about going voiceover? I'm Hope Woodard, a comedian, creator, and seeker of male validation. To most people, I'm the girl behind VoiceOver, the movement that exploded in 2024. VoiceOver is about understanding yourself outside of sex and relationships. It's more than personal.
Starting point is 00:23:53 It's political, it's societal, and at times, it's far from what I originally intended it to be. These days, I'm interested in expanding what it means to be voiceover, to make it customizable for anyone who feels the need to explore their relationship to relationships. I'm talking to a lot of people who will help us think about how we love each other. It's a very, very normal experience to have times where a relationship is prioritizing other parts of that relationship that are being naked together.
Starting point is 00:24:26 How we love our family. I've spent a lifetime trying to get my mother to love me, but the price is too high. And how we love ourselves. Singleness is not a waiting room. You are actually at the party right now. Let me hear it. Listen to VoiceOver on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Well, Phil won the prom with Sherelle Cousin.
Starting point is 00:24:55 Best prom! Actually, Phil had my cousin and another girl. Phil looks a little like he had two women. Oh. Wait, at the same prom? My cousin and another girl, Phil was a little, like he had two with me. Ooh. Wait, at the same prom? And Lucy. At the same prom? Wow, big kippin'.
Starting point is 00:25:12 Yeah, Phil, Phil had my cousin don't wear orb and he was her friend on the, that's fun. He's a nice guy. Ha ha ha ha. Phil was a little play on. Yeah. That was funny though. Ashley, you know my cousin went to the prom with your husband.
Starting point is 00:25:34 That's such a small world. It's such a small world. Yeah. Then I met her at the airport in Turks and she come to me, she said, Hey, I'm the cousin that went through the problem with your husband. I was like, you know, she's so country. Anybody from Fitting City or Columbus, Georgia, listen, they got me straight up. They ain't gonna sugarcoat. They're they could just the greeting was like, hey day you can't say, hey, hey girl.
Starting point is 00:26:06 I know you didn't know. She went straight to it, straight to it. I'm like, now I'm done. Yeah. Hey girl, yeah, I'm the one who went to the prom with your husband, girl. Mm-hmm. It's cute though, I love her.
Starting point is 00:26:24 Yes. It was cute. Yes, the parents, y'all have to get it together. We can't be spending all this money on these teens. They have so much, there's so much more in life than, you know, splurging on these teens for these proms. Proms for pos... Tuition. Boom. And not the parents falling to the pressure
Starting point is 00:26:47 and trying to like do better than somebody else. Like, it's... Oh, it's the competition. I wonder if it is more about the parents than the kids. It's gotta be. They putting the gas. They living through their kids. They living through their kids.
Starting point is 00:27:01 Because why else? I would like to see more money and more thought put in. I love saying, you know, when they do the little TikTok trends of what college they pick. Have y'all seen those? Like, their mom would be, like, went to Alabama State, the dad went to Alabama A&M, and it's like a co... Or a FAMU, and it's like a competition of which parent is trying to force their child to pick the school that they're going to.
Starting point is 00:27:27 I ain't saying those are cute. It's a lot of those training. Those are real cute. I like that. Put your emphasis in stuff like that. Not into no damn pro-pro-pro. I have heard of like trunk parties where like, you know, everybody has a party and they bring stuff for them to take.
Starting point is 00:27:44 We'll be doing a Trump party for Ari. Okay. I'm coming. I'll bring something. Trump party. That's cute. I like that. All right.
Starting point is 00:27:53 Now it's time to get into segment four ladies. Questions from our humble baddie fans. Ashley, you want wanna? Okay. What's one thing people get wrong about you just from your social media? I think people think I'm like a very girly girl, like suck up. And I think I'm very much the opposite.
Starting point is 00:28:25 Like, I'm pretty goofy and friendly and tomboyish. Like, I want to go outside and play, except if it's 100 and something degrees outside like it was today. But, um, but yeah, I feel like people look at, you know, my social media, and then when they meet me, they're like, oh, okay. I didn't think you were, you know, so chill or whatever.
Starting point is 00:28:51 I think that's the same with me. Like, people look at from, you know, TV or from social media because I don't know why I never really smile on my pictures. I hate taking pictures. But when they really get down, sit down or meet me or talk to me, they're like, are you the same person? I'm like, you know that's TV, right? That's just entertainment, right?
Starting point is 00:29:12 No, on TV, you do come off. But that's not me. Everybody who know me, who meet me in real life, no, I'm just on TV though. No, but we're talking about life. We're talking about in real life. Real life, people from I'm just on TV though. Yeah. No, but we're talking about... But in real life. We're talking about in real life. Real life, even from social media, like people, I guess they assume it from TV, but in real life when you really get, when you get to know me, it's like, you can't help but love
Starting point is 00:29:37 me. I don't really, I can't say, I was trying to think and see if there was anything I feel like people get wrong from my social media, because I feel like I'm very authentic. What you see is what you get. I'm very intentional about my posts and what I'm putting out there. And other than that, I just, I know one thing, I could post and be in a total different place
Starting point is 00:30:03 in the world and no one would know. You don't post them real time. Yeah, I could post and be in a total different place in the world, and no one would know. You don't post them real time. Yeah, I don't post them real time, so maybe that. But like, other than that, I like to show pictures from back in the day. I like to recreate moments. You are the archived. Before a flashback. Yeah, I gotta let them know, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:30:20 I've been there. A friendly reminder. I've done that. A friendly, humble reminder, you know, that this is my life. You know what I mean? I've been there. A friendly reminder. I've done that. A friendly, humble reminder, you know, that this is my life, you know what I mean? I do stand on being a lifestyle creator, and this is a lifestyle that people attain to, whatever that might be, but I'm showing you my work, I'm showing you play, I'm showing you philanthropy,
Starting point is 00:30:41 just showing you really my authentic self. So come along for the ride. Sherelle, how do you stay grounded while leveling up? How do I stay grounded while leveling up? I mean, I basically remind myself that quiet confidence lasts longer than loud validation. You know, I still celebrate my wins, but I don't let them define me as a person. I stay grateful, stay humble, and it's okay to, you know, to celebrate, but at the end of the day, loudness fades away. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:20 Yeah. Love that. Okay. What's one thing you've had to unlearn to grow into the woman that you are now? Hmm. I would say me will be the power of no, and not overexerting myself and then really showing up for those who show up for me. So I'm really just in that space of awareness and discernment and very much just like understanding value that you bring as well as vice versa to the people you surround yourself with. I like to be in rooms that people are doing better than me
Starting point is 00:31:55 that are, you know, that are just really showing me that I can be in this space with them. I think that is also something that resonates with me. So other than those, those would be my big ones be in this space with them. I think that is also something that resonates with me. So other than those, those are, those would be my big ones that I could identify with. Okay. What's your guilty pleasure? Song, show or snack? That's not very bad. Well, being right here, I'd be snacking on these. I don't know if y'all noticed, but these got me in a chokehold. These are Albany's gummy bears and I don't know, they're woman owned, okay, the quarter
Starting point is 00:32:37 women, but these got me in a chokehold. And I don't think they're very baddie because I've been going to the gym at five o'clock in the morning the past couple weeks, and these is the only thing holding me back from having it. And... That's my problem. My problem is y'all know the donuts. I forgot what brand they are, but they have the chocolate,
Starting point is 00:33:00 the powder white, and the cake donut. Are they 50 green? Uh-uh. Then the blue box. And it start with the E. And, and, and... Edamons? And it's something. I think they, they chocolate, white sugar, white powder.
Starting point is 00:33:19 Oh, like in the little... And the plain cake ones. They be so moist. You gotta eat them within. Soon as you open the box. Listen, when I go to Publix and I get oxytocin, I'll get my little thing in one night. Yeah. Oh, it's bad. That's why I can't get rid of my little love handles
Starting point is 00:33:41 and my little backpack. I've just decided it's just here. I think it would be desserts. And then when it gets stuck up there, you know it's good and moist. You know, when you eat that and it gets stuck up at the top of your... The cake's right there. Uh-huh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:59 Oh, my goodness, I need some. It would definitely be desserts for me. Like, I'd have a sweet tooth. Snacking, that would be it. Yeah. Banana pudding, peach cobbler, my favorites. The last one is for you, Ashley. Ashley, do you feel pressure to always look the part of a baddie
Starting point is 00:34:20 in real life? In real life, I feel the pressure to look... the part of a baddie. I mean... They make Sleesa asking you, even when you ain't trying, you still look good, girl. Yeah. Is it pressure? No, I don't feel pressure, but I think, you know,
Starting point is 00:34:40 social media does make you feel like you're supposed to look put together all the time. And I do find myself sometimes being like, you know what, fuck it, I don't look that good today. My hair ain't all that, but I'm still gonna post it because this is who I really am. But I do, like, consciously have to say that. Like, girl, don't matter if your hair out of place, you know?
Starting point is 00:35:00 So I do think there is, I don't wanna say pressure, but I do think there is this new societal norm of like, you need to always look put together for social media when that's not true. And sometimes I do have to remind myself like, girl, did your life, like you at home in these dirty ass sweats, you just got done cleaning up chicken shit
Starting point is 00:35:18 and it just, it is what it is. It's what you look like right now. Post it. You know? Cause sometimes I'll be like, no, I can't make content today because I'm covered in chicken shit. You know? Because sometimes I'll be like, no, I can't make content today because I'm covered in chicken shit.
Starting point is 00:35:27 You know what I mean? But I gotta make the content and I need to just be authentic. So I don't think there's pressure, but I do have to remind myself, like, it's okay to not be always every hair in place and, you know. Mm-hmm. I understand that. Sure. Yes, that's a good one. Mm-hmm. I mean, I understand that. Sure. Yes, that's a good one.
Starting point is 00:35:47 I mean, I just don't care. Like, at one point I did it, but now it's just like, whatever. Y'all gonna see these sparkles, my hair burned. The sparkles are the most beautiful thing. I love it. I used to hang it on, but now I love them. I love it. I love it. Yeah. I saw one comment, somebody was like,
Starting point is 00:36:05 let's wear your lashes. I'm like, in the drawer. Like, that's where they are. You know, I could put mascara on if I need to or get some lashes and it just is what it is. This is me at home. Let's see. In the drawer. Because that's where they are.
Starting point is 00:36:22 You know, y'all know, we have to put them on all the time. And so, you know, we like to give our skin a break. And people need to, it's okay. It's okay to be bare faced. I love my skin. Love it. Yeah, you got that skin. Yeah, good. I told you her face looked like a baby butt. That skin.
Starting point is 00:36:47 It feels like one too. Yes, it's so soft and butter. Like butter. Lex, what we got for the humble daddy's meal? About that time. All right, here we go. Should I still go on this vacation with his daddy? Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:37:10 His daddy, meaning, here we go. Let's get into it. Hey, baddies. Hey, girl. So I need your advice, and please don't judge me. But if you do, make it cute. I was dating this guy, let's call him Marcus, for like six months. We had a vacation plan to Tulum, all-inclusive, everything paid.
Starting point is 00:37:31 But two weeks before the trip, I found out he was cheating with his baby mama and his gym trainer. And yes, both knew about me. Bam. So of course, I broke up with him. No, we can stop here, no. BOTH LAUGH So of course, I broke up with him. But here's where it gets insane. No, we can he kept checking in.
Starting point is 00:38:06 He sent flowers. Cash at me, $500 just for a peace of mind. It's a lot of quotes, guys. Stick with me. Long story short, we've been texting for three weeks now. He's fine. Owns two car dealerships, divorced. And when I told him I was still going to Tulum, he offered to come with me so I wouldn't go alone.
Starting point is 00:38:28 Here's the question. Should I still go with his dad? I'm not playing anything wild yet. I just don't want to waste the ticket. But my bestie says this is the ultimate revenge and energy and that I might need therapy. Am I toxic or just reclaiming my peace and first class seat? Keisha Frank Houston.
Starting point is 00:38:54 Keisha, you toxic, girl. What's more fun than the daddy? The apple don't fall far from the tree, honey. If you see what the daddy is doing, you don't think he gonna be 20 times worse than his son? Like girl. The daddy?
Starting point is 00:39:10 Keisha. Keisha go. I can't even talk to somebody daddy. She's entertaining that too, like in the DMs, accepting the money, the flowers, and then now considering going on a trip. Keisha, you know, she's like, I'm gonna go to the gym. I'm gonna go to the gym. I'm gonna go to the gym.
Starting point is 00:39:20 I'm gonna go to the gym. I'm gonna go to the gym. I'm gonna go to the gym. I'm gonna go to the gym. I'm gonna go to the gym. I'm gonna go to the gym. I'm gonna go to the gym. I'm gonna go to the DMs, accepting the money, the flowers, and then now considering going on a trip. Keisha? Oh, Keisha.
Starting point is 00:39:31 Oh, that's... No, no, no, no, no. Just make this, you need to make this a therapeutic solo trip. Go by yourself. Get in that room, go to the beach, and forget about both of them, the senior and the junior. Yeah. There's other men out there.
Starting point is 00:39:54 What the hell you... That's a what the hell-y moment. Like, Keisha, girl. Nah, man. Really, tons of play in there. She... Keisha, tell us now, they call for you. Be cute. Girl, we ain't about to be cute with that nonsense. No, that is not being a humble baddie.
Starting point is 00:40:11 Mm-mm. Mm-mm. Mm-mm. Kiesha, one of those type of females that if you do her wrong, she gonna put you sitting on her. Yeah. Yes, you gonna feel it. Kiesha, don't do it. Reconsider. Keisha, please. It's a no.
Starting point is 00:40:30 It's a no. Girl. Yes, you're toxic. She's trying to kick out some dirt right now. And can you imagine? Mmm. No. Both of y'all toxic. The daddy toxic. All y'all toxic. All y'all just mean to go.
Starting point is 00:40:44 And this is nasty. All y'all toxic. The daddy toxic. All y'all toxic. All y'all just need to go to sleep. And this... It's nasty. All y'all go to sleep together. Vacation to Harbor... Yeah, no, we not done that. Yeah. Anyway, that's crazy. It's a no for all of us. You need this. He texted, I've ruined our lives. You're going to want to divorce me. How far would he go to cover up what he'd done? The fact that you lied is absolutely horrific. And quite frankly, I question how many other women are out there that may bring forward
