I'm Jake Hofer and this is Back 40, a limited series show on wire to hunt, part of Meat
Eaters podcast network.
Each episode I'll be asking eight wide tail hunting pros
a focused, thought provoking question
about hunting and land management.
How do I hunt the best part of the farm
with less than ideal access?
Should you, that's what the real question is.
Stand without good access is not a good stand.
Listen to Back 40 on iHeartRadio app, Apple podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.
A 20 year age gap.
So if I'm 57, Terry's gotta be 77.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Hold on.
So he came out, so he had to came out, if he didn't redshirt that, they weren't redshirt
like that back then.
So he came out at 21, 22 in 1970.
And it's what 19, it's a 2025 now.
That's 55 years.
So he's gotta be 77, maybe 78.
You know what, let me Google this.
Let me see how Ocho,
but it's hard for me to believe he's anything
other than that, Ocho.
Yeah.
Cause like I said, it's a Tim Bradshaw.
He's 76, born in 1948.
He'll be 77 September 2nd.
So I'm right on it.
Yeah, you on it.
You was a man, you good with numbers on you.
You was a mad man.
Like I said, I don't think they read shirt
a whole lot back then,
cause you know, columnists try to get your ass up out of there.
They weren't trying to pay for an extra year.
But I think the thing is that,
if you look at those old, old guys,
you play football, you keep your mouth shut, you go home.
Yeah, that's old. All that other stuff, it annoys them.
You just said something earlier, when we were talking about the Super Bowl tickets and about
adapting.
Yeah.
Some of the old players from that era, back in those times, they had a way of doing things.
But now, listen, we've moved on and advanced in certain areas, especially the game of football.
Everybody doesn't act that way.
Everybody's not a robot in their approach to the game
and how they play or see it.
So we need to adapt as well, which many of them haven't.
No.
Many of them haven't.
No.
Because I think the greatest key to survival
is adaptability.
Yeah.
And because the players were that way,
the coaches were that way, ownership was that way.
And so they don't see this like, bro,
and when Terry, Terry won four Super Bowls in six years.
Four.
And so he's like, this method is tried and true.
The less distractions you present for the team, the better off you're gonna be.
All this talking and all, but that's how they do it. Cause look, some people can party and can hang
out, come in at two or three in the morning, get two or three hours sleep and function just fine.
That wasn't what I could do. Right.
I need to be asleep by 10, 10, 30.
I mean, it is what it is.
And some guys can hang out and drink and come in
and you thought they got to bed at 730.
And they might've not got to bed to 730 that morning.
Yeah.
That's them big boys.
Yeah, but that's,
but who knows? Aaron said,
and we're just taking them at his word. If Terry got to know him on a deeper,
deeper level, gave him a chance, who knows? They might hit it off. He might actually like me.
Because I do think Aaron is a deep thinker.
I think sometimes he does overthink things but hey
Mandy oh god bad. Oh, you know how it is, man I'm old when them old people get said they say sitting away little joy. No, they're not changing that they're not evolving
They think everything works
Based on how they had success. Well, it worked for me, it should work for you.
So you should be doing it this specific way.
Yep.
They not evolving, they nothing.
They not good with technology.
Nope.
The whole nine yards.
It's hard when you only looking through your lens.
Ooh, that's a good one.
See, Terry only sees things through his lens. Ooh, that's a good one. See, Terry only sees things through his lens.
And so, it's tough.
It's tough, Ocho, when you criticize somebody
and all of a sudden they come play for the organization
that you play for.
Now, what works in Terry's favor
is that Terry is not really around.
He's not like rest his soul.
Franco used to be around all the time.
Mel Blunt is around all the time.
Terry, Terry worked Sunday.
Terry is not around.
And unless Fox have the Super Bowl,
he's not gonna be around.
Right.
So, and like I said, I've been around Terry,
you know, worked at Fox for years and met Terry.
He's a country guy that, I think, what does he have now?
He used to have cattle.
I think he got horses now.
And you know he gonna tell it like it is,
no matter who it is too, huh?
Hey, he gonna tell you just like Al said, the R word, you're gonna get
into your rock pause.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, he is.
And so, you know, his family, you like I said, I know in the beginning, but if I'm not mistaken,
I think Terry have, I think he raises quarter horses now.
I know one point in time he had cattle, he had beef cattle.
He was in the cattle business.
I don't know if he still has it.
He had, you know, big ranch, you know, he had, you know,
probably, I don't know, say five, 10,000 acres.
Well, you ever rode quarter horse before?
Nah, man, we had a pony.
Growing up, we had a pony named Ringo.
I had a cousin had a horse named Lady who was an Appaloosa,
you know, white with the black spots on them.
But nah, nah.
You know, I ride horses, you know,
I'm out there in Davy out there in Miami.
I ride horses consistently when I have time, obviously.
That goddamn quarter horse, man, they ride,
they ride like real, you can feel every goddamn thing.
It's like, move the, nothing man.
They, they, they look at, look,
he looking to run, Ocho.
He ain't looking for you to ride.
You, if you want something to ride,
or you want something to ride,
certainly to ride or to work,
you need to get a saddle horse.
You need to get a horse that's specific.
What, what does a fairbred meant to do?
Fairbred meant to run, quarter horse meant to run.
Running is fine, it's just the ride is rough.
Yes.
I can't remember Filipino, I can't remember the name
of the kind of horses they have in the Dominican Republic.
They're not that big, but it feel like you riding on clouds.
They going full speed.
It feel like you, I thought it's so smooth
and so easy to catch a rhythm.
Them goddamn quarter horses, man,
every goddamn, even if you try, you know,
I've been riding years now, I can't even catch no horse.
You try to go with it, it's still rough.
Yeah.
I can't remember the kind of horses they have
in the Dominican Republic.
Starts with a P, something.
Might have been a Filipino.
Yeah.
Feliciano.
I mean, I just like, you know, just uh, just looking at the horse the muscular structure and you're looking at an animal
That's a thousand pounds that ankle bone is the size of a human
And that's why they have so much so many leg problem
Uh a horse you look you look at a horse an animal that's a thousand pounds. His ankles are not much bigger than a human
That's why they break so easy. Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. That's you know, that's why that's why you have the problem that you have and
You know a lot of times what they do when you break you you put him down because you're asking him to try to put That weight to redistribute that weight is
It's sad. That's what it is. But no, but I look, I wish, you know,
Terry and Aaron can get somewhere.
And the conversation, we never hear about it.
We never hear about it because I don't think
we need to hear about it.
I don't think we need to know about it.
But I think, you know, there are some things that,
you know, Terry would probably want to share with Aaron
and Aaron would want to share with Terry
and they could move the ball forward. But that's something that we you know, Terry would probably want to share with Aaron and Aaron would want to share with Terry and they could, they could move the ball forward. But, but that's something
that we shouldn't, we, we don't have to know.
No, yeah. I'm sure, listen, I'm sure Aaron's going to find a way to get it, to have a conversation
with him, ask for his number or Terry is going to find a way to reach out to him. And just
because you're playing for my organization, I didn't mean what I said like that, but they,
they, they're going to talk and you know Aaron Rodgers,
he shares everything.
Right. He shares everything.
So at some point during the season,
it's gonna come out that we had a conversation.
If he's not on the field,
Terry's still gonna let his ass have it on TV.
For sure.
So he gonna let him fight.
And also Terry doesn't live in Pittsburgh.
I think Terry lives in Oklahoma,
near the Texas border, something like that.
So he's not like one of these great players, 14 players that live in the city in which they played.
A lot of time, players that were great, they still live there because, you know,
oh, Joe, I can cash in, you know, autograph signing and appearances and speaking engagements
and things of that nature. The team activities, stuff like that, they can take things of that nature the team, you know team activities stuff like that They can take advantage of that but Terry Terry left here
I don't think Terry Terry only lived in Pittsburgh probably during the season and once the season was over
Terry took off right Darius lay since AJ Brown is the best receiver in the NFL
He went on Richard Sherman's podcast to explain why let's take a listen to what he had to say. Oh Joe
everybody on that list, from top four,
is mostly scheme open for me.
As of this is a DB, I done seen Chase line up in the back
for I see Justin line up in the back for I seen Tyree
be getting the three point stands by the damn tackle,
go hard and be motion across that.
All I see is AJ doing is line up at X.
Come see about me.
If you want to see about me, I'm over here.
You know where I'm at.
I'm not finna go in this backfield.
I'm not motion out of there and getting in,
get isolated, no linebacker, none of that.
I'm coming to see your best dude,
to make your best dude look like that's your worst dude.
He don't run from no smoke.
So, people having him at five,
and then people want to talk about the quarterback play.
All these guys got like real deal,
like professional, like pro-po type of quarterbacks.
They always say hurts this and hurts that.
Out of all of them, when it come down to his passing,
but like I say, hurts throw the best deep ball.
And guess what AJ Brown most likely the best at?
Catching that deep ball.
I like that.
I like what he said.
I like what he said.
We don't have-
But I disagree with him.
Which part? Talk to me. Let me let you go first. Chase ain't no scheme guy. No. Justin
Jefferson ain't no scheme guy. Tariq ain't no scheme guy. Absolutely not. Because their
guy because their OCs are creative. Bingo. I'm glad you said it. I'm glad.
It ain't my fault that AJ doesn't have a creative OC.
But he doesn't have to.
You don't get to win the Triple Crown and be a Scheme.
You don't have 1800 receiving yards in Scheme.
You that guy.
Yeah.
You that guy.
Yeah.
And when you that guy, you that guy. Yeah. You that guy. Yeah. And when you that guy, you that guy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I disagree.
I'm not saying that AJ isn't a good, great receiver.
However you want to categorize it.
But I disagree with Slay on that part.
That Chase and Jetta and Riek are not.
Yeah.
They're not.
I disagree as well.
What Darius has to understand is when you have those players that are in your top five
at the receiver position, AJ Brown is in a position where they have so many other weapons
where you don't have to be creative over there because you have a skilled player in AJ Brown is in a position where they have so many other weapons where you don't have
to be creative over there because you have a skilled player in AJ Brown that is no different
than having a Marvin Harrison.
Chat, listen to me closely.
I'm not saying AJ Brown is Marvin Harrison.
When Marvin Harrison lined up, what side he was going to be on?
He's on the right.
He's on the right.
He ain't going nowhere.
AJ Brown just happened to have that same skill set, that same dog in him and that DNA in him where he knows
he can line up and he can get out. I call it getting out the mud. You call the play,
the officer court, they don't got to worry about you. I just know Jalen Hurst could
be blindfolded. Call the play, slant, route, curl out, whatever it may be. And he knows
exactly where AJ Brown will be at
and he can get it out the mud.
When it comes to Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase
and some of these other receivers,
sometimes you have to get creative
in order to get them the ball.
Why?
Because they're gonna roll covers to them every time
if you keep them in the, every time.
They really can't do that over there in Philly
cause you've got that gangster in the back,
in the back field where you got to drop
that fucking safety down in the box.
Right.
But Justin Jefferson, you can line him up on the,
on the left side or the right side and say,
we need you to get open the rest of the game.
You can do that like that too.
Yeah.
My job, my job as the OC Ocho is to not let your job be easy.
Yeah.
Cause if I just line him up there,
I'll make your job easy.
Easy, yeah.
Roll the coverage.
Find out where he is.
And just roll to him.
That's it.
Period.
I'm gonna make you find my guy.
But there are guys you can scheme
and you still can't get them open.
No.
Chase him.
Jetta him.
That's why on most everybody's list,
when you see receivers come out, they're one, two.
It's the same ones.
It's one, two.
Yeah.
And even though Tariq had a bad year,
and look, and I'm not saying,
cause I like AJ, AJ is a big physical receiver.
He's gonna catch the ball in traffic.
He's tremendous run after the catch.
He can catch the deep ball.
And sometimes he gets frustrated
because he's not involved as soon as he thinks he should be
or as much as he should be.
And he has lapses sometimes, but he's phenomenal.
But that's why I disagree with Slate.
I get what he's saying.
He's like, look, the guy just lined up on one side
and he said, okay, come see me.
But see, Ocho.
Yeah, go ahead.
With that being said,
even if Chase is not lined up on the same side,
he still say, you still gotta come see me.
Whether I'm in the slot,
whether I'm on the right,
whether I'm on the left,
you still gotta deal with me.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And there are a few players like that too.
Um, there are a few players, if we were just playing basic football and saying,
okay, we're breaking the huddle I formation and you just line up on the same side
every single time and the defense knows exactly what you're going to be.
There are a few players, maybe, maybe eight or seven of them that can say, you
know what, I'm leaving you on that Island and you're just going to have to get open.
That can actually do it.
And it makes the off of the coordinating job easy when you have those types of players.
It ain't that many of them at receiver.
Everyone else, you have to condense splits, you have to put them in motion, you have to
do all these things to get them open.
Everybody can't get out there and just get out, get it out, get it out.
The muscle.
It ain't right.
It's very, very difficult.
It is, but y'all doing them a disservice because if everybody knows where he is,
look here, they ran stunts with LT.
They ran stunts with Reggie and Bruce.
That don't mean they couldn't do it, but I'm not trying to just say, let's
try to make the job easier.
That don't mean they couldn't do it, but I'm not trying to just say let's try to make the job easier
No, I look like I said I get what Slay is trying to say he's like look
Just imagine had if they moved him around just imagine
You know instead of just lining up as the X he lined up You know they put him in the slot and they did different things with him. They stacked him so forth and so on. Okay, fine. But Jamar Chase is not a scheme receiver.
Neither is Jedha. Neither is Tyreek. Now I don't know the other other guys that were in the top.
I think they had AJ. So I don't know if it was Puka or if it was Nico Kopp. Yeah, CD Lam.
CD is mainly plays in the slot. He can go outside, but he mainly plays in the slot.
He can go outside, but he's mainly in the slot.
The funny thing about those top five you just named is you could put, you could switch the team.
You could put AJ in Cincinnati.
You could put Chase in Philly.
I can't hear you, you hear me?
I hear you. Oh, there you go.
You back, you back.
I'm blurry.
You can see me?
No, I'm looking at me.
Did my light?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
Now.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah. You go. Yeah. I say all those players we talk about, like they interchangeable. You can put them on any team and they're gonna be productive.
Yes.
Where they at?
They're gonna be productive no matter where you at.
You can put Tyree.

San Diego coming to MLS is going to be a game changer because this region has been hungry for

Like, you're building a team from scratch,
and so the succession plan of long-term success needs to be defined.
We need to embrace this community.
When I was 13, my uncle took me to a qualifier,
and we watched Paraguay against Chile, pouring rain,
just watching the fans jumping up and down.
I think that was definitely a watershed moment for me.
Not only was that gonna be my game,
but it was gonna be my life.

In Philly, Tyrecon,
Tyrecon Miami, Tyrecon Cincinnati,
Tyrecon Dallas,
or just put it in, they all going to be able to get open.
All of them. Now, once you get out that top seven or eight or 10, now we need to look, we need to
change. Not, not, not look. I think the thing is that, uh, you know, Chase was one, JJ, uh,
Jetta was two, Reek was three, CD was four, AJ was five. Yeah. Um,
Reek was three, CD was four, AJ was five. Yeah.
Armand Ross St. Brown, Malik Neighbors.
Woof.
But them boys nasty, boy.
Yeah, I think Nico Collins cracked the top 10.
Nasty.
Mike Evans, oh no, Garrett.
Yeah, Nico was eight, Mike Evans and the Garrett Wilson.
Garrett Wilson is another one. Get you out the muscle.
Can line up and get, it's so funny,
there's only a few of them.
As many receivers as there are in the NFL,
it's only a few.
I'm leaving you out here.
I call the receivers that the office of coordinator
don't have to worry about.
You make my job easy, because I can do everything, I can do do more with my offense because I know you can take care of your business.
Right. I ain't got to worry about you. Yeah, I think the thing is that when you leave a receiver
in one position, now you let them set their defense and they can like, okay, do we want to roll the
coverage here? No, find me. Catch me if you can. Find me. I'm playing high and seek.
I'm in the slot. I might motion out of the backfield.
I might mount up at Z. I might line up at X.
Ain't no telling when, or the slot, the wing, whatever.
You know what, a good point too, what Darius Slay just said.
Now you get a better understanding of why AJ was frustrated last year.
Yeah, I knew why.
Because there was no creativity.
No. There was no creativity.
You leave me on one side and allow them to deep into dictate what we want to do.
Why?
Because they allow Jayler hurts to play in the play into the confines of that
offense and not do anything extra outside of that where they, if they're
going to let you catch the ball, it got to be one on one.
Yeah.
I, and, and, and yeah, I knew why everybody knew why. And they tried to dress it up. Jalen hurts with throwing 420 yards.one. Yeah. I, and, and, and yeah, I, I knew why everybody knew why. And they
tried to dress it up. Jalen Hurst was throwing for 120 yards. Yeah. Yeah.
You're not going to win the championship with that. And you, you, and he got
better and better and you see, go look at his playoff numbers. They got better
and better. And in the Superbowl, he was sensational. Every time he got one-on-one
he made them play for every, he made them play for every time they gave him one-on-one,
he made them pay because Spags were not gonna,
he was not going to let Saquon beat him.
Yeah.
He neutralized Saquon.
But in the process of that, he left his corners on an island.
Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah.
He saw what happened.
And matter of fact, I'm gonna just throw this out there too.
My honorable mentions as well,
they've given you a small symbol size
on what they can do when Tankdale comes back
and he's healthy.
Yeah, he ain't come back this year.
I don't think he come back this year.
26.
My young bull over there in Baltimore
They flowers they flowers. That's it. That's another one Brian Thomas. Jr. You should have been on our remission list Brian Thomas, Jr
I'm another one
We say I'm a leak neighbors, right? Yeah. Well, he only lives. Oh, yeah. Okay. Okay. Yeah, you know my seven
Yeah, I don't have all the NFL teams in front of me. I'm just going off the top of my head based on skill set.
I mean, you still got DK.
You got George Pickens.
You got Higgins.
Oh, T, yeah, yeah.
You got Judy.
Oh, you know Judy belonged in that conversation.
So, yeah.
Let's see.
Lad McConkey.
I mean, if you think about the only, really, I mean, Amon Ra and CD were really the only slots.
Right.
See, that's what I don't like.
The number of people that belong in the conversation,
some people get left out that are just as consistent
as Amon Rossaint Brown or CD Lam CD lamp, lamb of concrete, stay open.
I think you're gonna be able to be here.
They flowers, he stay open in that slot.
I mean, but that's another conversation for another day.
Yeah. I mean, look, when you have a top 10,
obviously you gotta leave somebody out
cause you only got 10 slots. Yeah. They're're like give me 10 best rappers. Well somebody gonna
get left out because there are a thousand rappers past and present. You're
okay give me your 10 best R&B singers. Well you gonna leave somebody out. If you
okay give me your 50 best you know women R&B singers. Somebody's gonna get left
out. You only got 10 slots. So, and you have to
be okay. It's a good lot, man. You know, bro, it is what it is. And people got to understand that.
That doesn't mean, um, and you might make somebody else's list and not, you know, not someone else.
Oh, Joe, we have more info coming out on Kristen Wilkins. Adam Schefter shared, well, it was an awkward kiss incident between Kristen Wilkins and a Raiders
teammate. Wilkins kissed a fellow player on the head and the teammate took offense
to it. The incident happened inside the team meeting room. Report says the
interaction was playful but the teammate didn't see it that way.
Schefter adds the incident was not the sole reason Wilkins was cut. but the teammate didn't see it that way. Schefter adds, the incident was not the sole reason
Wilkins was cut.
Is the real...
Ocho, wait, hold on.
This is a, this is Schefter talking.
Allegedly, this was an incident that took place.
Right.
When did men start playing like this, Ocho?
Forget, forget, I understand it It's 2025. It's a
different time and I don't get, I don't care what your letter is
in the alphabet. Be you. I'm cool with it. You'd be the L you'd
be the B you'd be the T you'd be the Q plural, whatever the case
may be. Have at it. When did me in, in a football bat in a setting like this, when did they start playing
like this, Ocho? Was it after I left the game? Was it like last week, a couple of weeks ago?
You stayed a little bit, I retired in 04. You retired in 2012 from the NFL. So you stayed
a little longer than I did. So when did this start happening, Ocho?
I don't know. I don't know. I think that's-
Who plays like that, Ocho? Hey, I don't know. I don't know. I think that's- Who plays like that, Ocho?
The people I hang around based on where I'm from,
I don't see that type activity.
I don't see that type of,
listen, we have, excuse me,
we have playful banner, but the playful banner-
Yeah.
And we conduct it.
It ain't like that.
It ain't in that manner.
So it's news to me. It ain't in that manner. So I Is news to me is new to me
I don't know Christian Wilkinson, you know person Wilkins. I don't know him personally, you know, I
I know of him, you know as a fun energetic
Type of player he's done some funny things, you know
Yeah, they got that picture when they I think there's a national championship game of one game and the guys on the ground.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's just, yeah.
And yeah, I'm like, bro, guys don't play.
Look, maybe, maybe, maybe they do not.
I shouldn't say I'm just from an era.
Right.
Guys didn't play like that.
And yeah, look, yeah, we horseplay.
We might nail somebody locker shore, uh, shut, yeah, we horseplay. We might nail somebody locker short shut.
We might put powder or water in your shoulder pads.
And when you grab them, it come down on top of you.
Do guys horseplay around like that? Yes.
Do we soak the rookies clothes, put them in the cold tub
and then put them in the freezer? Yes.
We've seen guys, you know, basketball players put popcorn in the guy's car.
We've seen stuff like that.
Ocho, not like, and I've seen some stuff in the locker room.
Now I've seen some guys play that even I was like,
y'all nasty, that grow, ay.
But.
Not to that magnitude, though.
Not no kissing on, not even kissing on the forehead, not even no joking matter.
Yeah, I don't know.
It's hard to say I'm not in the locker room.
I wasn't actually there.
And obviously Shepha did his best job
in describing what happened.
And obviously knowing-
Think about it, Ocho.
Ocho, remember we talked about it.
Of all the things they could have said,
why did they say this?
Now they could have said anything.
He stole somebody's car.
He stole $1,500 from somebody.
He forged a check of all the things they could have tagged the young man with.
Allegedly, they put this.
Yeah. I mean, listen, it's alleged.
That's actually what happened.
You know, it had to come from somewhere.
So that means that's exactly what happened with their smoke this fire, right?
Where their smoke this fire so it is what it is. Whoever the player was they took a fence to it
Maybe they got a little scuffle
Maybe it caused the issue and maybe
That was just the icing on the cake for them to release him based on the other issues and other incidents about him missing games
Last year and then not doing what's required to make sure he gets on the field
in a timely manner this year.
Maybe they would have been fed up.
If I'm not mistaken, Ocho,
they said this incident happened earlier.
So I don't know if it happened, say, in the off season.
It happened at some point in time during the season.
Obviously, there was a diff, a fracturing, a fracturing
where they like, bro, you need the surgery. there was a diff, a fracturing, a fracturing
where they like, bro, you need the surgery. He says no, it seems like he said no.
Maybe they wanted a second opinion.
He didn't want to get a second opinion
because here's the thing.
You could, you could like, okay, you got a torn ACL
and the doctor said, well, you need to get this.
So you're like, no, I'm gonna at a hill on his own. You can do
that. I wouldn't advise it, but you can do it. They tell you to
go get a second opinion. Oh, Joe, you can do that. And both
darkness say the same thing. You say, no, I'm good. I wouldn't
advise it, but you can do that. I don't I don't get why he
wouldn't considering he had guaranteed money.
He had $35 million coming to him that was guaranteed.
So he was at, I could see Ocho,
if I didn't have guaranteed money coming in,
if there was a situation like,
nah bro, I need to get on the field.
But he got guaranteed money.
And so they say, nah, it's not healing like it's supposed to.
You need to have another surgery.
Right.
I just don't, I don't get that.
That's what's being reported.
Now we don't know what's true or not,
but look, the truth is somewhere in between this box.
Yeah.
Between the kiss on the forehead, the second opinion,
they wanted to have surgery again, something.
The truth is somewhere in here, Ocho.
We just don't know where it's at,
but we think the truth is somewhere in this box.
Well, listen, what you can do is you can
hear the situations, right?
And it's like having a puzzle piece.
All right, we got good pieces to the puzzle,
and you can just fill out the rest of the puzzle
based on the actions that have happened
and what you're hearing.
So obviously, you missed games last year, okay? Well, I think you you only played five games little Joe. I think you got hurt after the fifth
game. Okay, well listen, all right we're going into a new season. You're still not healthy.
You might have even got a second opinion. Maybe your second opinion said you know what
you need to just relax and let it heal on its own. Maybe the team said well you need to get surgery.
So again now we're going to another season. You missed so many games last year.
Now the season rolling around again,
you still not healthy, you're not on the field.
They see you on camera dancing around, having fun
and doing stuff that's not for one, helping the team,
two, that's not helping yourself.
And three, what we're paying you millions of dollars to do,
you're not earning that.
You're not earning that. You're not earning that.
You're not gonna do that on our time or our clock.
Right.
And so they made a business decision.
Yes.
I agree.
I'm looking at it like I said,
if he's in the last year of his contract,
he doesn't have this guaranteed money
and he thinks like, hey, I get it.
I totally get it.
But he got, he got what he had already got, like 49 million.
He got another seven coming this year.
And then guess what, Ocho?
He got another 25 coming, another 25, 27 coming
the following year.
So he's protected.
That's why guys want these guaranteed contracts, Ocho,
so I can be protected.
Not just for one year, but for multiple years. So I get it but
if the report is what Sheft is saying is true. Right. I just don't know when this started taking
place guys. Like I said, hey look, like I said Ocho, we ain't look, I done put, I done put more,
I done gone through so many tubes of toothpaste,
putting toothpaste on a guy's door in training camp,
because I know all he gonna do is just walk out the door
and pull it, shut, he ain't gonna look back at it,
he just gonna grab it and got him.
I done poured so much alcohol and lit it on fire
and up under the door.
Yeah, we play pranks like that.
But we know, look, you ain't, don't touch a man's, you know.
Boy, I saw somebody almost got the brakes beat off him.
He took his hair, he took his brush, took the dude brush
and combed his pubic, brushed his pubic hair with it.
With his brush?
And put it back.
Hey, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that,
Okay, so you see, people don't play now.
Yeah.
It ain't nothing, it ain't nothing but a brush.
It ain't nothing, hey, it ain't that serious.
Yeah. People don't play the way you play.
Everybody don't play like that.
And you need to understand that.
Right.
Cause you dealing with, look, I said,
I just don't, I don't get it.
I just, like I said, I grew up at a time
where men didn't play, men rarely, didn't play at all.
I remember my grandfather, them telling no jokes.
Like I said, and we told a story, my brother,
I just sat down with him about somebody made a joke
about my grandfather's teeth.
And as my grandfather was driving off,
he had his teeth, he had his father's teeth,
they were sitting on the dash.
And got a, Mr. Barney, don't let your teeth run away. Yeah, my grandfather put that car in reverse
Stop that car and got out
So don't play say I'm old enough to be your dad. They don't play with me
He's I'm a grown-ass man
He say find somebody to play with and I'm not him
He say, find somebody to play with and I'm not him.
Man, probably about five to a year before he's bought my ground. Cause you know, back, all people should go get the gas.
They should get that full service.
Oh Joe.
Yes, sir.
You know what I'm saying?
They ain't get a puppy.
Oh yeah.
Then, Hey, cause you did the windows and you know what I'm saying?
Oh Joe, you did the window.
Got the windows all night.
And you know, they still do that.
They still do that in Jersey.
Huh?
Oh, they do that?
Yeah.
They do that in jersey huh oh they do that yeah they do that in jersey okay man and so i'm i'm i'm surprised i'm really surprised that uh in in a
today's society that allegedly what christian wilkins did i mean because he's like i said
there are some things that like in in in photos that, and I don't know, it might be AI, it's hard to say hell.
I don't got the way, I don't really believe nothing
on the internet anymore,
because I don't even know if it's real Ocho, if it's AI.
Because AI haven't, you know, got
an alligator riding a horse.
So, Ocho, I don't even know what to believe anymore, Ocho,
but I'm just saying, guys, stop playing so much.
All these people in pranks and all this stuff,
and you see people walking up
and they trying to prank somebody
and they doing all this stuff.
Y'all stop that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
come on, come on now.
You gonna get yourself hurt
Yeah, and the first thing somebody family gonna say they didn't have to do him like that or they didn't have to do or do her
like that
No, you didn't have to play like that. Yeah people everybody don't play the same
Somebody gonna let y'all have it. So just stop just stop stop. Like you said, Ocho, that's a total stranger.
You don't know them from Adam.
And I know some, I know I got great friends,
but we know how to play and we know what to say
when we play certain things.
There's certain things that's off limits
and you understand that.
That's a total stranger you did it with.
Go ahead, Ocho.
You always know what line not to cross.
You know your friends. You always know what line not to cross. You know you're friends.
You always know what buttons to push,
you know what buttons not to push.
You know what line not to cross.
And there's great understanding with that
when it's someone that you've been friends with
for a very long time.
Now, when it's somebody new, like you're on a new team,
a teammate that you don't know that well
outside of that building,
there's certain things you can't do.
You can't conduct yourself, you know,
the way you conduct yourself with somebody
you know in 20, 25 years.
That's why you go in a new environment.
You sit back and you observe.
Yeah.
Okay, I can joke with him.
Can't joke with him.
Or I can say something like this to him.
Yeah.
Can't say that to him.
You gotta read the room.
That's-

Why you observe give yourself a month or two three months
Excuse me to observe and see who you can and can't play with
Yeah Who you can talk to who you can make joke with who you can and can't play with. Yeah.
Who you can talk to, who you can make jokes with, who you can do certain things to.
You just need to be observing because being in a locker room, because you've got a lot
of different backgrounds on your own.
People come from a lot of different areas.
I mean, the social economic background, the different religions, the different ideology,
how somebody was raised.
You don't know what the trigger is.
You just don't want to be the one to pull it.
Right.
So, I'm sorry, the young man,
but hopefully they get this resolved
because he's extremely talented.
He can play.
Oh yeah.
He's gone to the pro bowl.
He can go to that.
He can play.
Yeah, he can rush the pass.
He's tremendous against the run
It seems to me that he really enjoys the game. Sometimes I think he enjoys it too much, but
This I just like I said, we don't know shifters reporting that this incident did happen
But he's saying that's not the that's not the sole reason of why they chose to go in this direction.
We don't know, like I said,
that's what Shepter's being reported.
We're reporting, basically,
we're commenting on what Shepter's reporting.
What we do know is that he's been released,
and they're basically saying, we ain't paying you.
He filed a grievance with the NFLPA
trying to get the guaranteed money
that he believes he's owed.
We'll see how it plays out.
Adam Schefter says Terry McLaurin
is seeking a contract greater than that of DK Metcalf,
the one that he received from the Steelers.
Here's what Adam Schefter had to say.
I would say DK was in the same draft class as Terry McLaurin.
He got about 33 million per year.
I wouldn't think that Terry is willing to take less than that.
I think he wants considerably more than that.
Washington, they're not there right now.
They love the value of Terry McLaurin,
but they love the value in him at a different price.
McLaurin is in the final year of his current contract,
which he's due to make a base salary of 15.5 million and carry a cap hit of 25 million
You just said they value
McLaurin and what he brings to the team, but at that price
Well, they got to find a happy medium.
They got to have a happy medium
because all you got to do is flip the numbers.
I don't have the numbers in front of me.
I'm not sure what DK Metcalf has done
the past three, four years.
I'm not sure what, well, I know Terry McLaurin,
he's had a thousand yards every year.
But here, Ocho, how many times you heard somebody say,
I like it, but I don't like it at that price.
Yeah, all the time.
See, that's the thing.
Hey, they like Terry.
They don't like Terry at that price
because he's a Shepard, if what Shepard's saying is true,
he wants to be north of 33, 30.
So now that's CD, CD's at 34.
Jetta is at 35.
Now Chase pole vaulted everybody and put it at 40.
So look, and he's looking at, hold on.
I'm signing this contract two years-
Turn on the effing film.
That's all I need to see.
Turn on the film.
And I wish, I wish Jayden Daniels had the kind of leverage
and power, which I think he does, but as a rookie,
I don't think he wants to push that button.
Joe Burrow went upstairs and Mike Brown say,
boss man, we need to get Uno and we need to get five done.
We need to, I don't know how you going to do it
or what you need to do.
I'm not sure what the book is.
Yeah, you got to get some years on this bill before you get that kind of cash. You know, you know, you don't have a kind of
That's a Joe burrow Josh Allen
Right
But I wish but he will he will have that kind of you will will that kind of hammer
I think Jay dance understands the importance of having his number one target.
For sure.
I think the team, the owners, they all understand that.
We talk about numbers.
Find a number that's good, that's not insulting.
He's not asking to be the highest paid.
He said, put me in the ballpark and where I belong and let me know you value me.
That's all.
Well, I mean, well, Shepter reported
that he want to be valued more than what Minnesota value
Jetta, more than CD.
You want more than Jetta?
Here's the thing.
If DK is at 33, the next is 34 CD, the next is 35 Jetta.
So if he don't work 33, what do you want?
Oh. Hey, 15 to 33 is, is, is I mean, that's a big jump.
Are you jump?
I'm saying, is he trying to reset the market? Not reset the market, but be second,
hype second, second, uh, chase.
I don't, I don't, I don't know what he tried to do. I'm just saying what Shepter said.
Shepter says they were in the same draft class.
I think Terry McLuhan and DK were in the same draft class.
DK got 33.
I wouldn't think that Terry is willing to take
less than that.
I think he wants considerably more than that.
So you talking about 36, 37.
Oh,
Hey, that's going to be tough.
I did.
Hey, listen,
Don't get me in here lying.
Hey, that's going to be tough.
That's going to be tough.
I understand it.
You listen, you got to fight for what you want.
You got to fight for what you want.
Cause you only get,
Hey, listen, you only going to have you want. Cause you only get, hey listen,
you only gonna have this kind of leverage one time.
Yeah.
One time.
So you gotta get it right.
Yeah.
You gotta get it right.
So the question is, like you said, we don't, I mean, look,
I don't know what he's asking for.
Shepter, hey, maybe Shepter talk to his agent.
I don't know. And this is Sh. Shepter, maybe Shepter talk to his agent. I don't know.
And this is Shepter like shams and woes.
Shams and woes, he ain't wrong.
He's saying it's coming from somewhere.
Yeah, yeah.
It absolutely is.
But like I said, I like it.
I don't like it at that price.
Right, right.
You know what I'm saying?
Hey, hey, hey, Ocho, how about like Chrome Heart jeans? I don't like it at that price. Right. Right. You have to say, Hey, hey,
hey, Ocho, how about like Chrome heart jeans? I don't like them at that price.
Yes, I love scary Terry, man. I hope I hope we get what he deserves.
But you got to be you got to be willing to fight, boy,
especially what you're asking for. If if what Adam Schaft is reporting is correct, you got to be willing to fight.
You're going to have to hold your ground.
Because one thing they will use against you,
you got that C on your chest, you know?
They will use your love for the game and use it against you.
I know firsthand.
Hey.
I know firsthand how that goes, Ocho.
Oh, we're going to stall him out.
He's going to fold at some point.
Yeah, he loved the game.
He loved being around the team.
He loved the guys, you know.
The Titans have officially released Traylen Burks.
So let's revisit the night, the 2022 trade.
The Titans traded AJ Brown for the draft rights, the Trillin
Berks, Roger McCreary, Nicholas Petit-Ferri and Kyle Phillips.
Man, I saw the-
I don't know what Tennessee was thinking.
I still don't know.
So, okay, you saved money.
You didn't want to pay.
You didn't want to make you didn't want to pay AJ Brown
what he what the value.
Yeah, what he had earned.
OK, you saved money.
What does it got you?
They thought Traylor Berks was the answer.
They did, because they say he's the same type of guy.
Look at he's big, he's physical.
Oh, if y'all watched him, y'all watch AJ Brown, they not they's the same type of guy. Look at him, he's big, he's physical. Bro, if y'all watched him and y'all watched AJ Brown,
they not the same.
They not.
But sometimes you get,
you get caught up, you get mad at somebody
and you convince yourself somebody is better.
They got mad at AJ because he wanted what was rightfully,
he felt he had earned.
And they're like, nah, we gonna trade you.
You should have paid him just for having to deal
with the quarterbacks that y'all had.
That's what you should have paid him, just on that alone.
Yeah, listen, you know, year three,
Fred and the Berks was going into his third year this year.
Mm-hmm.
Year three is normally the year that lets people know
it should make it a breaking year.
Yeah.
Maybe this might've been the year he figures it out.
Well, he had broke his collarbone.
So he was gonna be out for like six to eight weeks.
Yeah, that's messed up.
The business is dirty, boy.
The business is dirty,
especially with the small sample size
of what you've been able to show us so far.
It's not enough for us to keep you around
to allow that collarbone to heal.
No, absolutely not.
It's players like that, that I wish,
I wish I had the opportunity to work with in the off season?
Ocho, he had 59 catches, 699 yards,
and one touchdown for a career.
Wait, that's a career?
Yep.
Three seasons.
You sure that's right?
Yeah, that's what he's saying.
He had 350, he had played three seasons.
He had 53 catches, 699 yards,
two touchdowns in his NFL career.
Oh.
In 2022, he played 11 games.
He had 33 receptions for 444 yards.
And 2023, he played 11 games.
He had 20 receptions.
He had 255 yards.
In 2024, he played five games, zero receptions, zero yards.
Okay, he must have been, he must have been hurt.
And then just broke his collarbone.
Yeah, damn, that's tough.
Damn.
Yeah, I think it's fair to say the Eagles won that trade.
Yeah.
You know, I hope-
The Eagles probably like,
hey, y'all got any other players
y'all wanna get rid of over there?
Yeah, I hope he get another opportunity Hey, y'all got any other players y'all want to get rid of over there? Yeah. I hope, I hope you get another opportunity though.
When he, when he get it.
Oh, he a first round pick.
So he'll get another opportunity.
Young.
But I wonder what his 40 time, what do you run the 40 in?
He's the first round pick.
Hell he got, he had to run fast.
He ain't run slow.
Cause if he ran slow, there's no, listen, his college.
He ran four, five, five.
Yeah. Hell, shit.
I ran four, five, but I played, I played four, three.
There's a difference.
The game ain't played in a straight line.
Mm-mm.
And he, look, they keep, see,
they thought he was going gonna be AJ Brown.
AJ Brown is a different type of receiver.
AJ was a red, he ran 449.
Hey, but they play so much faster than that 40 time, man.
For sure, yeah.
6'1", 226.
Oh, man, oh boy, he big, what? Yeah.
Damn, 226?
You can't look at him and tell?
I mean, he about my size, Jesus.
Yeah, you can, yeah.
He's a physical receiver, after the catch.
Now he catch the deep ball,
but he wants the ball in his hands.
Yeah.
Big good jiggery.
Nobody want, he want the ball in his hand.
Okay, tackle me.
Yeah, you faster than me, okay.
Let me see how many times you want to tackle me though.
Okay.
Yeah, okay.
You right.
I can't run.
Yes, yes, yes.
All right, that's crazy.
But I guarantee you after the fourth time
you ain't gonna want to tackle me.
Hey, like Marshall-
Two times I'm gonna stiff arm you.
The third time I'm gonna put my helmet in your, I'm
gonna hit my helmet right in your chest.
Yeah.
You see what Marsha and Lin say?
Yeah. Uh, Jerry Jones said, you just can't help himself.
Today he said last year's chance for CD Lambs contract extension was much louder than yesterday's
chance for Micah.
Jerry said, man, that was a little faint noise compared to the way they were
hollering last year, paid lamb, whoever's not in.
You can count on a few hollering there,
but it was big and loud last year chance for Liam.
I don't know. I don't know.
Listen, I told you what I think Jerry's doing. I told you
what I think he's doing. He's perfect. Every time he's not pranking us, but every time
it's time for a player to get paid, even though he has to pay them top dollar, I think he
purposely wasted the last to the last minute for a reason. He's doing on purpose so that
tension can always be on the cowboy. So the tension can always be on be on him. Let's
say what if he did pay Michael Parsons already what would be the conversation what would be the
conversation right now? Oh Dak? What you gonna do with Dak?
What do you mean Dak is scheduled to make what 60, 61, 62 something like that. $60 billion. Is he gonna extend him?
Extend him, he just signed it.
But he got two years,
he got another year left on that.
Already?
Yeah, that do.
That say I do.
Hey, that what I say, Ocho.
That's what I say.
These years go by fast.
You look up, I mean, hey, I just remember celebrating
the 50th birthday, now I'm closer to 60 than I am 50.
And that's the thing, you look up, man,
man, this time ain't waiting on nobody, Ocho.
Oh, it ain't one thing.
And one thing is it would never do.
It would never, it would never,
hey, what, hey, say that, you remember that quote
you said about why you wear a watch?
You remember that quote? I gotta read that, I ain what, hey, say that. You remember that quote you said about why you wear a watch? You know, remember that quote?
I gotta read that.
I ain't got my pad.
Right.
I wear a watch, why?
Hey, how valuable my time is, not to tell time.
Yeah, that guy, after this year,
that guy have two years left.
Okay.
Okay.
Man, that guy, that, that, that killing them, boy.
That killing them.
Yeah, they, they, they, they, they, one hell of a team.
All $80 million signing bonus, $231 million in guaranteed money.
That's what he got. That's what that guy.
Go ahead, brother. Woo, go ahead brother.
Yeah.
I'm not mad at him.
At all.
I mean, you know how much a man gotta pay, how much a man gotta be worth to pay you 230
and guarantee it?
Come on now.
Come on now.
Hey, to the man, the man that got a hundred million dollar home.
How much money do you think he actually got?
