and gather experiences that can accumulate to my own knowledge base. Oh, Joe, for the longest time you've been telling the chat and Joe and I that he's going to Miami, are you surprised that the pivot, because a lot of people said, okay, Miami, It could be Cleveland going home for the final chapter. Dorothy said in the wilderness, there's no place like home. There's no place like home. A lot of people now say, well, I don't really think,

and you hear Draymond say, I don't think Golden State was an option because of Steph and the heated rivalry between the two. But he pivots and he goes to Philly. Yes. What are your thoughts, not going to Miami and then are you surprised that he ended up in Philly and what do we expect from this year?

Well, well, obviously I'm not surprised at all. obviously me being a Florida native, a Miami native, a supporter of the Miami Heat. I always want it was best for that team. LeBron being free. I've kind of guessed right, you know, for the most part, when it came to a free agency with certain players, with Jan is coming here. And I thought, honestly, I thought LeBron was coming as well. I think one of the things that did hurt us is us not having shooters, not having anyone

on the perimeter that can really shoot the ball. I think it's a good decision on LeBron's part, especially at 41, 42 years old, in his 23rd, 24th year in the league, in the NBA, in general. This is a chance and the opportunity to go to a team where the supporting cast is extremely stellar. We don't have to do that much. I think this is a team where he doesn't have to carry the load. He has Maxie. He had Jalen Brown.

He has Eskim. He has an MB. So that is like, to me, excuse my reference in analogy and use in football sense with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They needed one piece to get over to hump. Coming off one season with Joe when they had James Winston, it was this 30, 30 years, 30 touchdowns with a phenomenal even, but he had 30 interceptions. I think that missing piece to the Philadelphia 6 is trusting the piece, trusting the process piece that can get them to their end goal is adding LeBron to that team. And this might be the year they do it and come out to east. What you think, Joe?

Man, listen, I've been telling y'all this. Since we first heard the rumors when Ocho was like, oh, no, you. And honestly, and honestly, this, the Sixers team wasn't the team that I thought he was going to, but, hey, man, make it make sense for me. When I hear J.B. come out and speak the way he speaks, saying that he's looking to learn. He kept saying the word learn. Man, it says a lot. You know, J.B.'s character has been somewhat assassinated. It has been assassinated because of analytics saying that he's not a great player, bro. and I think he fuels that he's going to fuel from that and he's going to use this season bro

to help the six to try and win a title I think LeBron kind of understood that having Maxy having Edgecom having J.B having M. Damn man I could just come out and orchestrate this thing Ocho you know I ain't got to do a whole hell of a lot you know what I mean so it makes a lot of sense to me because we always talk about the NBA in order to win

when you look at teams like the Knicks hell they beat you in a multitude of ways. with a multitude of people. This is what LeBron is looking for. He's looking to go to Philly and like, look, man, I ain't got to be historically great every damn night for us to win a game. I got this Maserati over here.

I got this Lamboe over here. Hey, man, we're going to pull all these things out and have a party. You feel me? So I like it. And when those guys buy in to whatever it is, LeBron selling, bro, sky's the limit for the sixes, man.

I like it. I do too. I'm happy for him. I'm surprised. You said something very interested, Joe, about the way the Knicks ended up winning the title because OG was OG one night. It was Kat one night.

It was Josh Hart one night. It was always a different guy. Now, the guy they could constantly count on with Jalen Brunson. Because when it got clutch time, when they were down all those points and somebody else might have helped them get reattached, but that's when Levin took the, I think he's number 11.

I think he ended up taking the ball game over. And so now you got to, we know what Jo Ellen B. He's a former MVP. We know what J.B. J.B. with 28 points with an all-NBA selection. Tyreeze Maxie, back-to-back, if I'm not mistaken, back-to-back years, an all-star. Edgecom is an up-and-coming player. They have the pieces.

Now, fitting around him, KCP, I think he got a buyout. They're going to have to be able to knock down three. Ocho, you mentioned Tom Brady. And people are like, well, why would he go to Tampa? he they had two pro bowl receivers they had an outstanding defense oh yeah outstanding young homie hungry vicious the same reason Peyton went to the Denver Broncos do y'all remember what they had up there yes hello they had demarius thomas rest his soul Eric Decker Julius Thomas no Sean Marino they had a Vaughan Miller they had Chris Harris Jr they had Bradley

Roby. Now, they got to add some other pieces. They go next year, they'll go get a demarcuse where they go get a key to leave. And you see what happens, an MVP for Peyton Manning. They get to the Subo. They get thrashed and Subo 48 against the Seahawks. Yeah. They come back in 50 and they win it up, win it all. So I'm happy for him. This seems, look, he's like, but I don't get what I don't get. This is what I don't get guys. I need y'all to help me. Because I happen to be on Fox when LeBron went to. went to L.A.

Yeah. Damned to a man. He didn't go to L.A. to catch Michael Jordan. He went to be Michael B. Jordan. He went to retire. He's in La La Land. No way you thought this man could win a championship with the pieces that they had in L.A.

But the very people that said he wasn't trying to win. So what is he supposed to do? Now, you said if LeBron was serious about winning, he would take less money. Well, how much more less money is four million dollars? You wanted to play for free? I don't think the NBA to play for free. But four million dollars compared to you. It's four million to where he was making. Now, it's reported it.

The Clippers offered him one year deal, $20 million. He's like, no, I don't want that. Maybe they could have cleared out $15 million for the Warriors. Maybe they could have got a little mid-level exception for the Miami Heat. I don't know. But all I know is he says he believes that he can be a piece toward winning a championship. All the people that said the very reason that he went to L.A. wasn't to win. You criticize him now that he goes back to Philly with a chance to win.

You know, nobody thought Philly was stacked until he joined him. You know what they? You ever noticed that? Yeah, yeah. Hey, now he, hey, I'm like, well, damn. It's like I was always, well, Shannon, you can't play. Why can't I play?

Listen, I understand the pieces that are missing here in Miami, you know, thinking about it being too much, too much on it, not having the extras needed, you know, to be able to do what he need to do down here in Miami. It's not, I'm happy, I'm happy for him. I'm not happy for him, but I'm happy for him if that means. But help me understand, Joe, and you, you, you, you played the game.

Why is it that him going to Philly and not winning a championship would harm his his legacy, but Michael Jordan going to Washington did nothing to harm. Oh, he was just going to have fun. and seeing the transformation of it, I'm old enough to remember. Yeah. I'm old enough to remember. And we're going to address a topic in a second about LeBron and Jalen Rose what he had to say. But I just don't,

I just need people to help me understand. What is it about this man that rubs you so wrong, that upset, So we've never seen it. We've never seen a more polarizing figure. And once upon a time, I thought it was Tim Tebow. But this is Tim Tebow on steroids, growth hormone, insulin,

Decloughgloblin, Sustan, 2, 50, all that. Well, listen, the question you just asked is the reason why they don't like him. The question you just ask, why don't they? Because we've never seen it before, Joe. Because the expectations that he had on the shoulders come out of the high school, many people thought he wouldn't be able to. to maintain it, let alone exceed him the way he has. He superseded

everything, not only his own personal goals, hell, everyone else's expectations on the outside looking in, he've exceeded theirs as well. So the only thing left to do is, for those they got to find something wrong with it. They got to. And every

time they throw something at him, he come back with something else. And he's still going, at this age, still playing quality basketball at his age, still one of the best in the game at his age. Not only be able to play it at a high level, but to be able to sit there on camera and explain it and break it down in a way that not just those that do play it, but those that don't play it understand exactly what you're talking about. That's that's very difficult to do. Think about it. One of the best football are color guys is who? John Madden. Yeah. Very simplistic. Yes. You got a pull here. You got a pull here.

You see circling sweat. Boom, boom, boom. They loved it. How many Emmys did he win? Charles never goes to the board. How many Grammys have Charles won? Because at the end of the day, when y'all want to get down to those hearts,

it's still the fans want to be entertained. Keep it simple, stupid. That's it. I like the fact that there's so many more platforms than it gives so many more guys an opportunity. And normally when guys don't pan out, they move on and give somebody else an opportunity. Mm-hmm. I just want to know what he wants the coverage is going to be.

I think people who hadn't played the game before still can be knowledgeable at the game as well and still commentate the game, talk about the game, and give great takes. But it's a different era or not, J-Roe. The women are going to have, you know, and I get it, I get it.

Women didn't play NBA basketball. Women didn't play NBA football, but they're going to have an opinion. And whether you agree with it or disagree with it, you like or dislike it, it's here to stay and ain't too much we can do about it. He can't play 40 minutes like he once could. At the level that he once could, he has to pick and choose his spots. And so now he has someone when he's coasting, Joellen B., Jalen Brown, Tyrese Maxi can do a lot of the heavy lifting. And when needed, I can come in and chip in. I'll make sure you guys in the right place.

The ring culture now has it at a point where now the athletes think, well, this is, this is, this is the end goal. You, you, that's what you want, you know, but you don't want to have to go to situations that makes it easy for you to do so. So for one, you win a ring. Then they test sides of going to teams that give you your best chance to do so. And if you don't, what they say? Y'all make it seem like Charles Barkley was a bum because he ain't got no ring. And there are guys that got two, three rings, they're in a third of the players. Totally agree.

See, there's a difference between being a great player and being a great player in a role. There are two different things, guys. Yeah. Charles Barkley was a great player.
