So Bay Area show up and show out. So thank you guys again. The breaking news overnight, Joe, the John Harbaugh was in talks and made his decision. It is the New York football giants. Jordan Schultz reports Harbaugh is expected to be worth five years, a hundred million, yes, five years, a hundred million dollars, $20 million per year. What the reports were, he was looking to get that, 20 million per. He was looking to get 10 million for his staff.

and he wanted total control of the roster. I don't know what all he got, but the reports are it is a five-year deal worth an estimated $100 million. I don't know if he got the $10 million for his staff support. I don't know if he has total control of his roster. But 10 years is a, I mean, excuse me, $100 million is a lot of money. I think only Andy Reid is $20 million per year. Eight years ago, John Gruden signed a 10-year, $100 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders. which raised eyebrows.

According to Connor Hughes of S&N, in the days before telling the Giants, he was going to take their head coaching job, John Harbaugh sought out and contacted positional coaches from Brian Dayball staff to pick their brains on the state of the roster. Several of the coaches had never spoken to Harbaugh before, and they told SNY they talked for about 30 minutes about the ends and outs of the team.

When Harbaugh was fired, Well, whatever the case may be, Steve Bichotty, when he was fired relieved of his duties. I felt someone of his stature was looking for a team that had a quarterback. That is the quickest way. Look at Chicago. Ben Johnson took that job. What did they have in place? A quarterback.

The New England Patriots, when Mike Braywell took that job, what did they have in place? The quickest way to get to the playoffs, to get on the winning track is to have a quarterback. They believe they have their quarterback. John Harbaugh, more importantly, believes they have their quarterback. That is why he took this job so quickly. Joe, what do you think? You like to hire? I like the hire, but I'm wondering what Harborough,

do you think that was the best quarterback situation? You think that's the real reason why he took that job? I mean, obviously, they paid him what he wanted, but, I mean, honestly, I think he could have got that from anywhere. But that's, I mean, if he could have got that anywhere, It's a lot of enticing jobs out here, man, with a lot of talent versus, you know, he got scatibou and the receiver. Them dudes coming out of extremely, you know, unfortunate injuries, you know what I mean? Yes.

I'm wondering from a talent perspective, do you think that was the best team that he probably could have went to? Okay, here are the team Arizona. They don't have a quarterback. They're going to move on from Kalimerd. They have Jacoby percent. The question is, the Tennessee Titans. They have Cam Ward, but it seems to me, he believed that situation with that roster, you look at the defense, Brian Burns, you look at Dexter Lawrence, you look at Abdul Carter,

who they took very high. They had Juan Dale Robinson that came off a great season. I get what you're saying about Malik neighbors, but he should be up to speed because that injury happened so early in the season, he should have a full recovery. Scatibu, we don't know about that. We'll see how that thing, it seems like it's progressing. Now, they do need some offensive line because the problem is. because he took, before Jackson Dart got in there, he was taking a lot,

Russ was the quarterback. Right. That's fact a lot. Now, you're going to have to protect Dart, and Dar is going to have to protect himself from taking unnecessary hits. You're not a running back. You're not Derek Henry. So you need to get that thought out of your head.

You need to be smart. Don't be afraid to run out of bounds. Don't be afraid to get on the turf. Sometimes you have to know when the journey is over. But if you look at the Jets, you like the Jets? they don't have a quarterback. No, no, no. And that, that, that, that franchise is, is disfunctional.

The Giants has been, have, has been dysfunctional for a period of time. But all things being equal, I trust the Giants in that situation, and I don't know what, maybe it's just, I'm hoping. The giant situation more than I trust the Jets. Okay, the Falcons. I think, me personally, I think the Falcons have more of the talent, but they still have undecided issues at the, quarterback position. So you look at the teams that have that have openings, I think the Giants

have the best quarterback situation. Do they have more talent than Atlanta? I don't believe they do. But they have a quarterback and it doesn't matter how much talent you got. You better have a quarterback that can pull the trigger. Right. Okay. I understand that part. I just feel like it's a lot of other teams. Especially when you look from the defensive side, I know you got to have a quarterback. You got to have guys that skilled positions. You got to pull. points on the board. Well, if you can't stop nobody, man, you're going to be in trouble. I don't know how great the Giants defense was.

So, you know, that's probably what more I'm looking toward. You know, I'm like, okay, what is their defense like? Well, if you could predict, the best way if your defense is subpar is to keep them off the field. If you got a quarterback that's turning the ball over, if you can't run the football, that is the quickest way to put your defense back on. on the field. Right.

Now, you could be just porous and not big schemes schematically or don't have the pieces in place are a lot of cowboys. Cowboys offense is sensational. What do you try to say? The Cowboys offense is sensational. It's your defense, whether it's schematically. Now, look, you've had a history of this, Joe, for the last decade, you've gone through a ton of different defensive coordinators.

And with the same results, your offices in the top five, your defenses in the bottom five. That's not a good recipe. but I'm looking at just the coach just now if green bay was available I would tell him to take his ass to green bait right right because they're going to get Michael back at some point now I don't know if he's going to start week one but there's a chance he's going to play at least let's just say for the sake of argument somewhere between 11 and 12 games if he stays healthy they might start him on the pub list and then he'll have to miss the first four games but you look at them defensively you look at the offensively their quarterback they got joy love they got receiving they got a running game and then you'll have to miss the first four games but you look at them defensively they're quarterback they got joy love they got a running game and They got a nice, they got a nice offensive line, but of the position that were available, Miami, you like Miami? Their defense isn't that good. They don't have no quarterback. They're going to move on from tour. It seems like I like Ed Chan.

I love him. He's sensational, but they need offensive, offensive line help. They got Waddle. So we'll see. I like Darren Wallet tied in. He's shown me enough that he still has juice in orange, and he should be, he should come back. But I'm just looking at it from a standpoint of teams that have. available coaching positions.

The Giants have the best quarterback situation based on what I saw this year. Now that could change. Can work to come back and have a stellar sophomore season. Because we heard. Yeah. Yeah. And we don't know. I don't think it's bad. Maybe if they had five or six more games,

maybe he missed a game and he comes back. But of the coaching, the coaching vacancies that available, I like the Giants. I like the Falcons overall. But I like the Giants. quarterback and like I said I think I laid out pretty good chat if you look at the team look at look at where the uh the Patriots were last year or look at coach now they're in the division around the playoff yeah look at the Bears yeah in the division around the playoff both teams playing at home

now they did go out they signed the Patriots signed Stefan Diggs in free agency they got big Milton Williams they brought some guys in and so you like okay and you can do some things I think the Giants are going to do that. Now, I don't know where they are cap-wise, but they definitely need some offensive line help to make sure they can protect Jackson Dart. But I like this hire. It's a proven commodity.

Ain't no guesswork. What I wonder if he can do, he's never been a head coach. The man was just a head coach for the last 18 years. Yeah, yeah, I agree. And so I think he's a proven commodity. Yeah, I agree. I think it's a great hire for the Giants. Obviously, you want to be able to keep Jackson Dart on the field,

hopefully, you know, he starts to be a lot smarter going in year two. But, I mean, they got to put, they got to get a defense that can help the offense. Obviously, like you said, you want the offense to stay on the field so the defense don't have to work as hard. But for the most part, it looked like a hard bar wanted more control than anything. Yeah, look, when you've been in that position, Joe, and you've had some control, it's hard for you to go to another situation and have no control. Right. Especially after you've been at the job for an extended period of time.

He's been under task for 18 years and to go in most coaches. That's the hardest thing. I mean, when you look at Coach Belichick and Coach Belichick has had total control. For me, it's going to be hard for me to see him going somewhere where he has little to no control. Right, absolutely. And so I think that's the thing. And look, the reports are Mike Tomlin is not looking to coach, but I like Mike Tomlin in Atlanta. Oh, man.

I like Mike Tomlin, Atlanta. Man, you know how these people embrace Mike Tomlin if he came here to Atlanta. Owee, he's going to have to find him a quarterback, though. Yes, for sure. And I think, I think, as far as there's no question of my mind of the openings that's available. They have the best talent.

Man. They got better talent than the car. Now, I like the Cardinals. Now, look, you look at what the Cardinals got. They got McBride, who arguably the best tied-in in football. They got Wilson. who came on and showed like gangbusters, Marvin Harrison Jr.

A, got Nick this year, kind of regressed a little bit, but I think he's talented. You get an offensive line, you get, you know, plug a few pieces in defensively, but they don't have what Atlanta has. Oh, sir.

You look at Bejohn Robinson, you look at Drake London, you look at Kyle Pitts, you're going to have to sign him back. They have pieces and defensively. Oh, my goodness. Yeah, man. That defense line they got.

as a monster, man. Yes. But at the end of the Jay Joe, look at, we're going to talk about this, look at every quarterback that's in the playoffs. Only one was drafted

outside of the first round. You got number one overall pick Matt Stafford. Number one overall pick, Caleb Williams. You see? Number three pick. And number two pick in C.J. Straub.

Number three pick and Drake May. Yeah. Number three pick in Sam Darnel. You got to have a bad boy back there. Bo Nix. Josh Allen, all those number one picks, only one quarterback was outside.

If you don't have the, I don't give it that, what your defense looked like. Right. Because sometimes your defense is going to have to overcome bad play. They will. Now, C.J. Stroud can't play Sunday like he played Monday. They're going home. For sure.

Because he's going to put his defense in harm's way. They're not going to have to drive. the football very far and they have more weapons and they're able to run the football and they're able to protect better than what the Steelers were able to do. So he can't have the type of game that he had. But without a quarterback in today's game, the way they have instruction, the way they set it up, you can't win without a quarterback. And so I like this. I like this higher for the Giants. Hey, Boo, I like it too. With these coaches, with these vacancies and let's say you're a head coach going into a situation.

Don't you kind of have some say-so? Like if you go into a situation like Atlanta, you know you need a quarterback and they ask you to be the head coach, don't you kind of got some say-so, some guys who you think you may want to bring in? If you're Mike Tomlin, yes. If you're John Harbaugh, yes.

But sometimes you're a first-year coach. You don't have a whole lot of things. John Harba had to build up to get that. Mike Tomlin had to build up to get that. Coach Belichick had a lot of control, but he built up and got even more. Andy Reid got some control, but he built up to got more as they started winning. You coming in and you haven't been a head coach before or you don't, you haven't won,

you want to do, you say what? There's only 32 of those positions available. Right, right. And so you're happy to have one of them. Now, if you win, you'll get more, just like Ben Johnson, I believe he'll get more safe. Mike Brayb was going to have more safe. But they, Mike was a head coach. He took a team to a championship.

He, you know, he's coached in big games before. And so with this situation, you turn that around, you go from 4 and 13 to what? 13 and 4. Ben Johnson, I mean, Chicago, you know what they were over the last several years. Yeah. But now that you got that quarterback's position solidified,

they're going to have a little bit more safe. Now, mind you, those quarterbacks were already on staff. It wasn't like, you know, Mike Brable selected. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It wasn't like Ben Johnson. and selected on Caleb William. Absolutely. So it definitely helps if you've got a quarterback already on staff.

Yeah. Now you can build out your roster how you want and have some success doing that. So it's going to be very, very interesting. But congratulations, John Harbaugh on the job. Every January, we're encouraged to start over. But what if this year is about slowing down and learning how to understand ourselves more deeply? What if this year is about giving ourselves, permission to feel what we've been holding and knowing that it's okay to ask for help.

Oh, cause significant ripples, but in fact, the tension has reached the sidelines on Tuesday night with AR's agent Reggie Berry confronted Paul. One of Austin Reeves agent reportedly confronted Rich Paul at the Lakers game per day McMiniman. One of Reed's agents, Reggie Barry of AMR agency, approached Paul on the sideline,

Dear Half Court at halftime of the Lakers Hawks game Tuesday night. to the two people spoke for about for about five minutes or so and the topics of conversation with Paul public trade scenario regarding Reeves rich Paul has a podcast rich Paul and look I like I like rich Paul is talking like he's not an agent right he's talking like he you and I this yeah this is something we might have should have suggested but for at the agent that has one of the biggest names. And, you know, he's talking about Jalen Johnson. Who's one of his clients?

He's talking about this and that. But what were your thoughts when you heard that, a current agent getting on his podcast and playing out scenarios for teams in which one of his players is on said team? Yeah, I thought it was very conflicting because as an agent, you know, what you say holds a lot of value in ways. Absolutely.

You know what I mean? And coming from Rich, you know, for, you know, obviously LeBron being his top client and on the Lakers with Austin Reeves suggesting that they should trade Austin Reeves for Jan Jackson, man, that's a touchy situation because he's an agent. So if I'm representing Austin Reeves, yeah, we're going to, when I come to the game, yeah, we need to have a talk as well. I need to sit down and talk with you too. Hey, man, don't be throwing no in the windows out there about my clients.

You know what I mean? So I can understand the ruffles and Austin's agents. So I really don't know what Rich Paul was thinking in that moment, man. Or maybe he didn't give a damn, you know. Yeah, I think that look, and I don't have, look, you're going to get yourself in trouble. Because if you talk long enough, Joe, you're going to say something that you probably shouldn't have said. Right. Now, Rich knows better.

He knows just like what he said about LeBron and things of that. nature, you have to be careful in a situation like that. And I'm glad LeBron came out and said what he said because I don't think this, but people will automatically try to tie it to LeBron. Yeah. That's LeBron's agent. LeBron's agent, well, y'all know how I feel about, how I feel about, uh, uh, a R.

Yeah. And I think LeBron does hold him in very high regard. But I, I've been, I just thought in this situation right here. If you want to have a podcast, have a podcast. And, but when you're talking about, I just looked at this. I don't know how professional this is. Yeah, I would have a problem with that.

From an agent, from an agent standpoint. Yes, yes, I would have a problem about that, about you talking about somebody else's a client. Obviously, AR is repped by AMR. Jaron Jackson Jr., Triple J is rep by CAA. Yeah. I'm just trying to, so what's to play? He, hey, he, he, he looking out, I guess he called himself looking out for the Lakers.

Because when you think about it, really, if that trade could happen, you know, it obviously would be super beneficial for the Lakers if you just want to. How? Jared Jackson, he might give you 25 one night. He might give you 12 and 7 the next. He's going to be. He's not a consistent big man like Yon. If he was going to give me what Yon is, or he could give me what Yonich,

or he could give me what Embed was in his price. I'll make the trade tomorrow. Well, well, you never know. Think about this. You got to think about Jan Jackson, Luca, and pick and roll, LeBron, and Jan Jackson and picking rolls. I just think when the playoffs come, to have three top scores like that,

it's just going to be so tough on them three to be able to carry all that weight for AR to average 25 to 27 points. Luca averaging 30, Brun, averaging 25. That's going to be a lot, man. because your interior, your interior is going to suffer. Your interior is going to suffer. They're going to have to make a mood.

try to be, yeah, yeah, they're very influenced by these guys. So it's unfortunate, man, but I think he'll learn from this situation. Obviously, if they can move him, I think he'll be a lot better. I think he needs a fresh start on. He need a fresh start. I do. I do. I do. I do also. Yeah, you need a fresh start.

But there's not a city that you can go to that if you're looking for trouble, you can't find it. Oh, no, no. People say in Memphis, oh, if you want trouble in Atlanta, you can find it. If you want trouble in Miami, NYC, there is not a city that you can't go to. If you're looking for trouble, oh, you can find it. Yeah.

And just to be able to see him get his body right, get his mind right, I think, I think Miami will have a lot to offer, man. I think Miami have a lot to offer.

And like I've said, I think that he will learn definitely from those mistakes that he made in Memphis. I don't think he would make mistakes like that in Miami. Because in Miami, they're going to know everywhere you at. You can try to be on the low if you want to at two, three in the morning. Them folk don't know. But John's played 18 games this year, average of 19.7.6 assists. That's mean while the Grizzlies are 7 and 23. I mean, he's only, he's only 24.

He's about to be 24. He's young, super young. And sometimes some people are mature. You look at a LeBron James, 15 years old, already got grown man maturity. And you see some guys that it takes them a while. They gotta get 26, 27, before they mature. John's 26.

Right. Nobody had no barber's license. But nobody trying to fade nobody. They was trying to see what this misunderstanding was about. It looked like they had a real misunderstanding. They were trying to figure it out. Yeah. So in a situation like,

that, all that talking, that let me know, y'all ain't really, really, really about that? And I get it. I understand that. Everybody, you know, two dogs just, you know, they're in the fence. And everybody's woofing really, really hard. Right, right, right, right.

But ain't really nobody trying to do anything like that. Because all that talking, if you, all I know is that the fights that I've seen or the, ain't a whole lot of talking. It's straight to it. Because at that point, you know, it's a different mentality. football, Joe. You ain't fin to scare nobody.

Right. Nick. Boy, I'm about to be like, Ocho. I'm about to be like a ninja take one, but you're not about to punky. All ready. Already. No, sir. Already. No, sir, re.

I've been in too many locker rooms from high school to college to professional. Two different sets. No, sir. Yeah. Yeah. And a lot of times, sometimes you make a mistake if you want to. I just saw some receivers lump up some D-Ly lineman. Yeah.

Okay. Yeah. Okay. Yeah, it depends on what they're getting into it for the, oh yeah, for sure. Yeah, yeah. And so, yeah, but if I'm the Grizzlies front office and I saw that, that's all I needed.

I was thinking, Joe, we needed to move on. Yeah. But not, he's made it abundantly clear. It's crystal clear. Yeah. He got to go. I agree. I agree.

I'm saying they, they look. It's sooner or the better now. It's not going to get any better. And before it, before it get physical, let's just go ahead. You're not going to get equal value for it. The guy's a two-time all-star. What you're going to get?

They're not giving up Norman Powell, or did you go get Tyler Hero? I know. Oh, who you're talking about Miami? Yeah. Yeah. You're going to have to give up hero. Miami got some pieces.

I wouldn't want to give up. Well, first of all, they're not giving up Bam. They're not giving up Powell. And they're not giving up where? Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I wouldn't give up Kelly or where, I'm paying. They're going to have to figure that out. I don't know how they're going to figure it out, but they got to figure it out.

They got to figure it out. But I know Memphis got to get job from over there. They got to get him from over there. And I was wondering because I was like, damn, I wonder why he ain't playing. Is he hurt? Yeah. Because he came back and he's played in a few games and he had some good games. But they keep it a track on how many times I call you Ocho.

They say I'm up to eight, but I think I'm at four. Hey, look, he came back and had some good games. Yeah. But they hadn't translated into wins. No. You know what I mean? So I think they're definitely going to move. on from him. I wonder, I wonder

has this situation diminished his trade value. When I know you got if I, if you want to sell something, the best way to keep the value up is to let somebody inquire about it. If you, if I, if you come to me and say, hey, hey, shop, I got this

this pool table I want to sell. Oh, you either fit to move or you about to get a new pool table. Right. What you look at the ass for it. Because that's going to determine because I'm coming in low. I just want you to know, Joe, I'm coming in low. You either get a new pool table

when you thought about to move and you don't want to carry it with you. Right, right. So if you want me to come, I'm charging you a move-a-feet, even though I'm going to buy it. I'm charged you to come move it up your property. Right.

They know they want to get rid of job. Absolutely. So it's like I ain't going to get you. You want to trade somebody. You got to trade them before you really want to. Right. The value is high.

Yeah. that's why I know that's why I know they're going they're going to do some way before the break they're probably just trying to figure it out right now but what I'm saying is because of this this latest situation do you just send him home and just tell them that we you know we're going to wait till we we have a trade for you because from the looks of it it don't look like it's going to be beneficial to have them around those guys I mean why if for the most part a lot of times NFL if if you're not hill enough to play, they don't let you travel.

Now, if John's not going to play, now, if he's close to play, close to returning, so forth and so on, I get it. But if he's not close to returning, it makes no sense. And you know, and plus, you guys know what's going on in that locker room. You know the animosity.

You know the angst between those players. So why put him in that situation? That's what I'm wondering. Knowing that him and the head coach ain't really seeing eye to eye, you ain't going to get the best out of them right now. So, man, listen. Find them a nice landing spot.

Hopefully you can get some great pieces back, but it ain't going to be beneficial to keep them around, especially those those, they're going to be acting like that. Yeah, yeah. It's going to be a situation where you end up, somebody going to end up something that could have been prevented. Yeah.

Is that it's going to end up sparking up, and you could have prevented this. Go ahead and moving. Look, you moved on. This ain't the same team. You let down. Asman Bain go, you let Dylan Brooks go. You might as well.

You might as well just go ahead and let the linchpin go. Y'all not winning. Y'all not going nowhere. Right. It's hard. You had the opportunity. Y'all squanded it. Y'all did all that talking.

They hadn't been the same since John talking about he ain't worried about nobody in the West. There you go. Yeah. Hey, hey. That's why you got to keep your mouth shut. Just hoop. Just hoop. You don't want no bull.

See, they got rid of their muscle, man. And you took it for granted. You know, bangs, Dylan Brooks, guys who can help out with their scoring, toting their scoring load. Dylan Brooks was never going to be this in Memphis because they was never going to allow him to do what he's doing in Phoenix. Right, right, right. He was always going to be the fourth option.

It was going to be jaw. It was going to be bang or triple J. in some combination, two, three, or three, two, and then it was going to be Dylan Brooks. He was always going to be the fourth option. So this Dylan Brooks that we see now, man, he was not going to be allowed to. See, he don't have a choice now.

Right. They ain't got nobody. They don't have anybody but, but book. Yeah, and then Green been hurt all year. Yes. So he was kind of, I think they got a guy named Gillespie. Yeah, Gillespie.

He stepped up. And he's, he's played, he's played Grayson and now. Let's give him some minutes. But basically, for the most part of the season, Dylan Brooks has been their number two option. Yeah.

And he's always felt he's able to be good to be able to, you know, everybody's tense up or wince when I shoot the ball. Everybody's saying no, now he has freedom and he's played unbelievable basketball. Averaging like 20, 21 points a game, he's playing really well. But he wasn't going to be that in Memphis because they weren't going to allow it.

Nah, he's probably, he still would have been the agitator that he is. Yes, he's going to be that. steal that now. Yeah, he wouldn't have been able to advance his offensive skills the way he has done over the past year. So, you know, every since they got rid of those two dudes, Dylan Brooks and Baines, they hadn't been the same, huh?
