Starting point is 00:05:36 and a proposed move of the club out of downtown Dallas Morning News reported today that Cuban alleges Dumont has engaged in adversarial business practices in a bid to move the team about 10 miles north of downtown to the former site of the Dallas Mall. Cuban sold majority stake in 2023 to the family of Miriam Adelson and Dumont, who is Adelson's son-in-law. Cuban said he had an agreement to continue running basketball operations, but Dumont gave former general manager Nico Harrison full control of basketball side. Cuban said in the filing he was unaware of Harrison's plan to trade superstar Luca Donchich to the Lakers in the February 25th straight until it was too late to object and call off the trade.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Cuban owns 27% of the Mavericks, but the newspaper reported there is a clause in the purchase agreement that allows Adelson and Dumont family to buy another 20% of Cuban state. The filing by Cuban comes a little more than a month after what Dallas Maverick signed, an option agreement to purchase approximately 104 acres in north Dallas. Part of the plan is to build an arena that would be open in 2031. Joe, what are we to make, Joe, Joe, Joe, go through it to you first. What are we to make of this? Seems to me like Mark Q has a little buyer's remorse. Yeah, hey, look, they talk about moving a team.
Starting point is 00:06:57 They didn't already, you know, got rid of Luca. The people in Dallas, the people in Texas are going to be, they're going to be ticked off now. You know, I don't know how much more they're going to be able to take. Okay, Ocho. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Because that's a, you know, Dallas is a big market, bro.
Starting point is 00:07:13 They got a, they have a committed fan base. You know what I mean? So, hey, I don't know what they got going, but a little they, they, they're shaking some things up. Listen, if they, if they shaking things up, I'm not sure how whether, I'm not sure where Dallas, the Mavericks are located right now. I'm not sure how far north Dallas may be. But anytime ownership or GMs or people in positions of power want to make a move, obviously is for money and economical reasons. I mean, maybe they feel moving to North Dallas will be better for the team long term.
Starting point is 00:07:44 I'm not sure what it may be. That's the only thing I could think of. It seems to me that Mark Cuban is having a little buyer's remorse. He sees the way these prices are going astronomical. Now, he sold his, and now he sees now all of a sudden $7 billion, $8 billion, $10 billion. Yeah. He sees that. And he's like, what have I done?
Starting point is 00:08:06 What have I done? Because, and I know he said that, look, I don't want my kids, put my kids in a situation where they're fighting over this. I'm going to make it easy for them. There's nothing going to be over to fight over, excuse me. And so, you know, I'll have this. This will be on the trust. You get this.
Starting point is 00:08:23 You get this. You get this. The one thing that will not tear apart, will not tear my family apart, as I've seen it, tear so many other families apart, is a franchise or a sports franchise, be it football, basketball, baseball, whatever the case may be. But now Mark Cuban is seeing the way these,
Starting point is 00:08:39 these, these franchises are going and what the price they're going for. He's like, damn, Joe, I undersold by four, five billion dollars. It's too late. You don't get, you don't, I don't get to sell Ocho my car. And then Ocho Payton, like,
Starting point is 00:08:54 Ocho, why you paid my car, man? I bought it, damn it. Right. Yeah. But hold on. Now, Mark, Mark Cuban, a very savvy businessman with a great understanding of the market, especially the NBA, on how it operates. I think the NFL, the NBA, and the MLB are one of the few franchises or just entities in general that would never depreciate.
Starting point is 00:09:15 It continues to climb year and year out, Joe, no matter what. So at what point, why would he even have virus remorse in any shape, way, form of fashion, if you understand that it's always going to continue to rise, it's never going to depreciate in any way. I don't understand. Yes, I understand, you know, 2%, 3%, 5% growth over a period of time. Ocho, I didn't expect to sell the thing for $4 billion, and now all of a sudden it's worth $8 billion in two years? Okay. Yes.
Starting point is 00:09:41 But he didn't expect to the people who bought it that they would damn get rid of Luca neither. You know what I mean? Like, I don't think Mark Cuban had any say-so in Luca getting traded. Hell, he probably didn't even know if you want me to keep it real. He didn't know until it was too late. And so by that premise, because he said he had a deal in place to keep running basketball operations. But the owner, the son-in-law of Miriam Adelson, who's the wife of Sheldon Adelson, who passed away, they cut him out. Well, look, when you dealing with this kind of money, when you're dealing with this ain't no handshake, I want it in writing that I'm going to continue to run basketball operations for two years, three years, five years, or for as long as I do.
Starting point is 00:10:30 deemed necessary because the thing is you know how it is just like anything the contract used to be a meeting of the minds joe had a farm he had grain he had stuff like that i had livestock i would say you know what joe i'll give you a couple of cows you give me you know corn you give me wheat you give me stuff like that we had a handshake deal then all of a sudden jodo after joe got my cattle joe don't want to come up joe don't want to come out the grain So now we got to have a contract. We got to have eight by 10 or whatever it's written on the paper. This little square thing.
Starting point is 00:11:06 You could judge you to say, uh-uh, what is this? What does this say? So clearly he didn't have that. And I think the biggest thing is that because they're talking about these teams in Seattle, this team and the owner of the Golden Knights, it seems to be he's put a team together. They say this thing can go somewhere between $8 and $10 billion. dollars.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Hmm. Okay. Wait, hold on. You talk about the NBA team, Los Vegas, Jacks. I saw that. You saw that Los Vegas. That money gets split between the owners. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:41 So we're looking at, you know, three, four hundred million dollars per owner. Two teams. Oh, so. Eight hundred million. Go ahead, Joe. Damn, I didn't know that. So if you buy, if you buy a professional team, then if you have to, if you have to spend four billion that that spreads out through the owners yes yes that's why they're
Starting point is 00:12:05 they're very selective of who they let in they're gonna make sure who they let in not only must you be able to like okay purchase it but you're gonna probably need somewhere north of probably 400 million dollars cash of operating expense hey hey listen I know a couple people and I can get we can get in business with and buy us a day hey hey guess what I know a couple people too. Okay, Ojo, who, hey, which are tough. It used to be guys. They give, they might let you have
Starting point is 00:12:34 a 1% to let you be a minority owner, let you be the face or something. But this 10% stuff is over. Because 10% now is a billion dollars. There ain't very many people that's sitting on a billion dollars that can just say, you know what, I want
Starting point is 00:12:50 10% of this. And the people that have it, they don't necessarily want you to be a part of it. So that that limits a lot of people there. And people like, well, now, I mean, to get a franchise now, like it said, I mean, you see, they say the Seahawks, you're going to go somewhere seven and a half, eight, maybe even nine billion. I mean, and somebody has to own 50% of that. They used to be, that's what it used to be, you know, people tried to like, what you're on 25, you on, no.
Starting point is 00:13:27 that you got to have somebody that's a majority. Somebody needs to own. Majority, right. And so that's what it looks like to me. I could be wrong, but it seems to me is that, bro, you sold it. You sold it. And I know you didn't anticipate them trading Luca,
Starting point is 00:13:48 but guess what else you didn't anticipate? You didn't anticipate. And we see what happened. And I felt this way. You see what they said about Jalen Brown? They saw what Luca level was going to be. And I don't believe they wanted to pay that, Joe. Based on what you heard about some of his practice habits,
Starting point is 00:14:05 the injury history that he had, you know, they started calling it, you know, started reporting he was hookaheanchet. And it's like, hold on. This man is 25. By the time this man is 30, we're going to end up having to pay this man $450, million in a contract.
Starting point is 00:14:23 Yeah. Yeah, I'm with you. The owner, that was his call. but you guess what poop rose down here so it had to land on it had the land on Nico's desk go ahead Joe yeah
Starting point is 00:14:35 yeah no I'm with you they definitely didn't want to pay Luca that money man I think you know what I think for real Arcan Ocho if Luca had a if he had one of them work ethics to where like you know you know like Brian got for instance
Starting point is 00:14:51 you know trying to be one of the greats obviously he's a hell of a player but I just I felt like Dallas seen the behind the scene things with Luca and as far as eating habits or whether it's drinking beer after the game, whatever the case may be. And they didn't feel like it was a great investment, bro. At the end of the day, they didn't feel like it was a great investment. So they moved on.
Starting point is 00:15:11 You know, you know, it's funny when I think about it too. Knowing that the Lakers have always had a franchise player, they've always had an all-star. Obviously, you have a team like L.A., they would have needed someone, even with LeBron being there, they would need someone with the cachet and the facial profile. to say this is the face of the Los Angeles Lakers. I think a move and you look at the landscape of the NBA, before Luca left, even though he was in Dallas, they needed somebody.
Starting point is 00:15:37 Who was next up that can carry that torch and be in the face of that franchise? I think even if his habits were good, Uncle Joe, even if he did train, even if he didn't drink hookah or drink beer, you know, coming out the tunnel, whatever it may have been, you know, and we saw that clip, I think he might have still been traded anyway because they needed that piece.
Starting point is 00:15:54 They needed that figure in LA to really, represent, you know, being that star, being in LA always has money. They always need. Well, the Lakers, the Lakers definitely needed that. There was a connection between Rob and Nico. Nico was Kobe's right hand guy. Rob Polinka was Kobe's agent. So there was a natural connection.
Starting point is 00:16:19 Now people start to believe it because when the trade happened, what did everybody say? LeBron knew. LeBron knew. come to find out LeBron ain't no shit. The agents didn't even know. Two people knew. Nico Harrison and Rob Polinka. It wasn't until the day,
Starting point is 00:16:37 it wasn't until the day it was about to get consummated that Jeannie Bus was looped into it. Yeah. Hey, we have this. Oh, obviously she's going to agree with it. Because you can't, you can't let this get. You can't run the risk, Ocho, of this getting out. Because now you create.
Starting point is 00:16:55 a bidding war. Hey, that's all y'all getting. Max Christie, uh, uh, uh, uh, A, D on a first round draft pick? We got this. Hey, hold up, what? What now, hey, Boston Celtics. We got Jalen Brown and three fourth round draft picks, unprotected. This team said we got this player, that player, and five unprotected. That's a 25 year old, a five-time first team, all NBA selection. He's 25.
Starting point is 00:17:22 Do you know how far you got to go back to find a guy that age with that many first time all NBA selections? You're probably going to have to go back to Kobe and you're probably going to have to go back to LeBron. Yeah, yeah. But you saw the number that he was in line for damn near 400 million.
Starting point is 00:17:43 And they just didn't feel that that was a great investment at the time. Because it tie your hands, bro. Yes. To where you you put all that money in one player okay, Ocho Hill, it's hard to kind of fill out your roster. You know, we're talking about nowadays, you know, guys taking her cuts and, you know, teams trying to feel like they roster to have more depth. Obviously trying to, you know, copy what the Knicks did. But, hey, man, it's still some guys out here, okay, Ocho, who can total team to a title now. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:18:16 Yeah. Every team, what I'm saying is every team ain't going to have no damn fulfill. five guys coming off the bench who are going to be able to contribute like that. I mean, you're going to have some, you might have some great pieces, but it's two, three of them guys in that starting five will be able to get you to where you're trying to go. You know what,
Starting point is 00:18:32 almost, you know what I don't like in a sense, especially when it comes to business, especially these organizations. You think about the players, Uncle Joe, they work, they tail off all their life to get to a certain point where they have,
Starting point is 00:18:44 where they are of extreme value to a team based on them being an asset and very valuable entity to whatever. franchise their plan for. And then all of a sudden you tell me, well, you know what, you're too good. There's some things I don't like about you. So we don't want to invest that kind of money in you. I mean, that that's kind of, it's more of a gift and a curse. As good as Luke is, okay, you know what? We're going to find some wrong with you so we don't have to invest this kind of money, even though you're as good as you are. And that's ass backwards, Joe.
Starting point is 00:19:13 Are you? If that's Jeff Curry, you think they're doing this? They're trading stuff? Absolutely. Absolutely not. If that's LeBron, you think they're doing that? No, they say. That's your answer right there. If I'm spending that kind of money, it can't be health or skeletal. It can't be no junk bonds. It's got to be blue chip stocks. And I think the thing that when they started looking at it,
Starting point is 00:19:36 they's like, if we, because look, I don't know if it's true or not, but you start hearing rumblings. You started hearing rumblings where they say, well, you know, they're looking at it like this, guys. If he's hard to deal with now and he's making $100 million, What can we tell him, Joe, if he's making 400 million? How do we get, how do we get him to move? How do we get him to do certain things?
Starting point is 00:20:00 Now, I'm not saying, look, they might just be salting this man up. But I'm just saying when you're difficult to deal with, and that is a calculated decision that teams have to make when they invest that kind of money. If he's hard to deal with now, Ocho, I give you that kind of money. How do I get you to do anything, Ocho? If it's hard for me to get you to do something for $100 million, I give you $400 million. And I know it's guaranteed.
Starting point is 00:20:30 Go ahead, guys. But when you think about it, that's why I say the Mavs got cheated because we never got to see Kyrie AD together. We never got to see, though. So listen. Kyrie A.D. and Kyrie A.D. and Cooper Flagg.
Starting point is 00:20:47 Yeah, we never got to. So we got cheated out of that. We don't know what that could have been like. You know what I'm saying? So I think the way Kyrie was playing because he was at the top of his game still. Yes, he was. You know, balling out of control. I think that and being and not having enough defense, you know, in the postseason,
Starting point is 00:21:07 especially in the finals when they lost in the finals a year. I think that's why it was so easy to get rid of Luca because you're like, damn, well, we get rid of Luca and we still got Kyrie playing at the high level. We bring in AD. Not only do we get better defensively, but now we have a low post, presence to where we got a guy we can throw the ball to and he'll get us a bucket or a foul versus having two guys on the perimeter trying to go for 35 you feel what I'm saying so I think I think I understand that that everybody's mad about to
Starting point is 00:21:36 trade but damn I just feel like we never got to see what Dallas really could have been bro yeah or are they mad about the trade or they mad that the the the the Mavericks didn't maximize trade value for what they had If it's Aesop and I trade my entire kingdom for a horse, I got shortchained. Well, not really. Because thinking about it, how are you going to get the value for Luca? What are you going to get back for Luca? Because, okay, let's say you get number one picks, right?
Starting point is 00:22:05 Those number one picks aren't really expect. Who said they're going to be equivalent to what Luca is that you have right now? Because he's proven. They are. They say that about Paul George, too. How did she turn out? He did okay? How J. Dove doing?
Starting point is 00:22:18 He doing okay? What about Chad? He had a bad series. but he doing okay? Because that's what they got from Paul George. Now, everybody, everybody can't pick like that. But those are the risks that you have to take.
Starting point is 00:22:33 If you trade, get off a guy, you believe in your scouting department enough in their eye and their ability to judge and recruit talent. Okay. Yeah. So think about it. Now, they go from,
Starting point is 00:22:48 okay, C, go from being a fourth or a fifth now they're perennial. Number one seeds. For the last three years, they've been the number one seed in the West. All thanks to that trade. And sometimes, look, sometimes you don't get value back.
Starting point is 00:23:04 You trade Kareen, you don't get that value back. Or you trade a certain guy, you don't get that value back. You never know. I think it's just the fact of the matter is that they traded a guy and they said, that's all you got.
Starting point is 00:23:16 And you see what Desmond Bain goes for. You see what McHale Bridges go for. You see what some of these other. guys go for and all you got and and i and i and i hate saying all because anthony davis is a top 75 player he's a 10-time NBA all-star he's a multiple-time all-nbba selection and he's a perennial in the running for a defensive player of the year so he's a phenomenal player but 25-year-old lucca that's averaging 28 points he might have if i'm not mistaken he has the third highest average behind jordan will and then lucca points per game in NBA history if i'm not mistaken he's
Starting point is 00:23:51 at the second most highest points per toe game in playoff history behind jordan so that that's crazy it is oh joe it absolutely hey hey joe joe i couldn't be in position to make calls like that i couldn't be in a position to say who goes and who stays because the eye test the number tests forget analytics what am i seeing on the court yeah i'm not letting the player like that go who's the who's my my franchise the face of my franchise and he's going to deliver on the court because he smokes some goddamn who Joe, please. Hey, hey, hey. Come on, man.
Starting point is 00:24:25 I think when you look at it, okay, Ojo, you got to understand. A.D.'s biggest flaw is that he was injury prone. And the worst thing for Maverick fan was for A.D. to get the ball out of control his first game. Okay, Ocho 26 and 12, and then had to leave because he couldn't finish the game because he got hurt. The worst thing that's the worst damn thing could have happened. You know what I mean? But it happened. And unfortunately, it's been downhill.
Starting point is 00:24:53 It was downhill from the Mavericks ever since then. So that's why the trade looked so bad because AD never got to, you know, reach his full potential in Dallas on what it could have been. Because I thought it could have been a great match with him and Kyrie. Obviously, Cooper Flagg, but unfortunately it didn't work. So, you know, I think that's why the trade really, really looked so bad because it's like, damn, then you end up trading 80 to Washington. It's like, damn, come on, bro. So now we don't really have. Now we got Max Christ in a first round draft pick
Starting point is 00:25:22 to show for what we get for Luca. But I think the thing also that scared him is that Luca injury history. Luca had started to get injured, Joe, you know, Joe. He had started the missing games. And we saw that this year when the playoffs, even in the series that they got to the finals, he has started to limp.
Starting point is 00:25:40 So the injuries is like, man. And as you get older, if you don't work out, the injuries go up. They keep you down longer. They do, bro. Because you know the guys who play big minutes in the NBA, Uncle Ocho, they ain't doing a whole hell of a lot outside of game day. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:26:01 Like because they play so many minutes, 35, 40 minutes, hell, that's what's going to keep them in shape. Now, what you got to hope is that they have a great work ethic, eating habits, things of that sort to kind of keep the body in great shape. But if you don't, bro, this is kind of what you did. with but in hindsight for me I feel like Dallas got lucky here they got the number one pick right there got Cooper flagged same thing with New Orleans you got New Orleans traded AD what did they get Zion yep and he's gonna be the next one
Starting point is 00:26:36 on the move by the way you for sure who that's I know I know Joe Dumas don't want to get up out for him but it by time hey boy he's nice Joe got to put him right but listen when he healthy. Oh, my goodness. But that's what you're, if you look at the grades, you look at like Jordan, Jordan broke his foot in his second year.
Starting point is 00:26:56 Then after that, Jordan was relatively healthy. Jordan was playing 82, 80 games for like the next, I mean, obviously he took that time off after the 90, what was that, 93 season, so 94,
Starting point is 00:27:09 this, and then came back halfway through 95. And then he played all the 96, 97, 98. And then he's off for a couple of years. But, and that's what the, That's what you want.
Starting point is 00:27:19 I mean, you look at Kobe. Kobe was relatively healthy his whole career until when the injury started, man, they just started piling up. You know, he tore his labor, him, and then he had the Achilles and he started dealing with, you know, he just started dealing with a plethora of injuries. But that was like year 13, 14.
Starting point is 00:27:36 Yeah, yeah, yeah. You look at LeBron. LeBron didn't get injured basically until he got to LA. That first year way, tweaked is growing. But you gotta realize LeBron was in year 16. Yeah. So, and that's the thing.
Starting point is 00:27:50 When you invest that kind of money, man, you just are ROI. You want your return on investment. And you never know. And like you said, a lot of times when you trade a guy like that, you don't know what you're going to get. I mean, sometimes it's a pretty good tradeoff. The Rams traded Jerry Gough and they get Matthew Stafford. I think it's been a great situation for the Rams. It's not like, but Matthew Stafford was always this.
Starting point is 00:28:15 He was just in Detroit and people just like, he's throwing. for a bunch of yards. People don't realize Matthew Stafford threw for over 5,000 yards and 40-something touchdowns. That might have been 2011 or 2012. Chad, go back and look it up. Yeah. And the man didn't make the propo.
Starting point is 00:28:32 Yeah. The boy got a cannon, boy. Listen, that's a safe trade, huh? That's a trade where you know what you didn't. So you're not even hesitant on a trade like that to let Jared golf go and we're going to put Matt Stafford over here with the weapons that we have. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:43 If you can do what he was doing in Detroit, in a really not a winning situation. And we put him over in LA, what do you think going to happen? But guess what? When I put him in LA, guess what I bring with him? What's that? E-X, P-E-C, T-A-T-O-N. Expectations.
Starting point is 00:29:02 Expectations. The expectations in Dallas and in Detroit is a little different than the expectations. Because guess what? We got to the Super Bowl with Jerry Golf. Not only are we expecting you to get it. us there, we're expecting you to get us over the hump. Hello. He delivered.
Starting point is 00:29:19 What did he do? Like Amazon. He delivered. He did, don't you? Like Amazon. He did. He did it. So look, that's just my, that's, that's, that's, chat, I don't know what y'all
Starting point is 00:29:30 think, but I think, I think a part of me, thanks, Mark. And I love sitting down because he, he's a very, very smart guy. He loves it. He loves basketball. He's one of the few on the desk. He ain't up in the box. He was the first. one doing what you see the guy from the clippers do Mark Cuban was doing that way
Starting point is 00:29:50 back win yeah he was doing that with Steve Barmer that was Mark Cuban way back then yeah Mark Cuban running on the Mark Cuban they stay a David Stern stayed in Mark Cuban's pockets hey let me let me get 500 out of that let me get a 250 hey hey hey hey hey it's like giving my kids two dollars here here you can have it hey Cuban won't mess up by nothing nothing he called a no Fisher Dre he was talking about the fish was terrible and all that. But, uh, Mark, I mean, I think part of you, like, man, I sure wish I had probably waited a couple more.

Starting point is 00:33:19 Listen to Zawara Football on the Aihar Radio app, Apple Podcast, or whatever you get your podcast. I'm Mangishatikula and I'm back with the new season of the podcast Skyline Drive. This time I'm diving into a rabbit hole of peptides, organoids, blood boys, blue zones and brain replacement
Starting point is 00:33:37 to try to understand what this longevity obsession is all about. And what it really means to live forever. for all of us. I learned about some rad science. I can make a brain for you, and then we can test what draw is the best for your brain, as opposed to his brain.
Starting point is 00:33:58 Here's some hard truths. I would expect Indians to age faster, but I did not expect it to be almost a four to five-year acceleration. And get myself into a world of trouble. I'd say probably start bone smashing, That doesn't work. To make it look more defined. They say it works.
Starting point is 00:34:17 I don't know. Listen to Skyline Drive, How to Live Forever, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. The Declaration, which is full of these beautifully rendered, sentences and paragraphs about enlightenment ideals, does also have this darker history to it. Why is it important for the darker part of the Declaration of Independence
Starting point is 00:34:44 and the American Revolution? why is it important that Americans know about it? Well, if we don't understand the full context in which our nation was founded, we won't understand the full context in which our nation now finds itself. I'm Rebecca Nagel. Gohyn, Dawadol, Jalike Yat, Lai, citizen of Cherokee Nation. Are you guys big chiefs fans? Hell yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:10 This is First America, the true story of how the United States came to be, and how we got to this present moment. Listen to First America on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. For years. Stephen Curran says he's been texting LeBron as the rest of the NBA world awaits his free agency decision. We've obviously talked. He deserves all the patience and space to figure out what he wants to do with this career as it winds down. We all understand and appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:35:41 I would love to play with him. And hopefully that would be a reality. soon. So this, but hold on, what happened to this notion that we hear some of these, nobody wants LeBron? Did you see the clip where they tried to prank Yonis and somebody he had signed with somebody else? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Let me see, let me see, let me see, let me see. But nobody, let them tell you nobody wants LeBron. But you have to understand, huh, then nobody wants to play with LeBron. That's coming from the outside. No, no, no, I said nobody wants to play with him. They're making it seem like nobody wants him. Like Golden State really doesn't want
Starting point is 00:36:15 him Miami really doesn't want him Cleveland really doesn't want him Philly really doesn't want him no they can't if they can't pay him his true value nobody has 50 million dollars to pay to a 42 year old and they're not going to pay that but this notion what we were here in Joe and Ocho nobody wanted him oh there's no market out there for him are we serious right right yeah yeah as a bunch of bull that's a bunch of bull jive you know anybody with comments since anybody with any basketball knowledge, even if you're not really a fan of the game, you know that LeBron has value based on what he was doing in LA, even though it was a third option. And then when Luca and also Reeves went down, seeing what LeBron did and being able to carry a team at 41 years old and still be able to operate, you know, efficiently at a level offensively,
Starting point is 00:37:03 obviously somewhat of a liability defensive because he can't sit in the chair like he used to. He's extremely valuable. But obviously going to a team where he doesn't have to do much except facilitate. And when I want to pick and choose, the moments where I want to score, he can do that. Again, I love, I love Steph. I love Steph his comments and wanting to play with LeBron. LeBron is very fond of Steph and he wanted to play with him.
Starting point is 00:37:24 But if they're going to do that, listen, they can do it in the off season. They can play in the summit. You know, in New York and listen, they can golf together. They can play in the summit and the off season and train together. But as far as, as, as far as competing at the highest level to contend for a title, this ain't a time, this ain't the time for like a goddamn reunion. What do you mean? Why not?
Starting point is 00:37:46 Listen, if LeBron is going to play and have some fun, he can have fun in the offseason. If he's going to play, going in 42 years old, the expectations are through the roof. He needs to be on a team. We can conduct himself in the right manner where it's not that much pressure on him and all the pressure is going to be on the others around him. It won't be no, it won't be a bunch of pressure on him in Golden State. Listen. He's playing in the West, Joe.
Starting point is 00:38:10 I know, but you got to, you got to relax, slow down, turbo. You got to hear me out. Hear me out. Hear me out. Think about it. Two of the greats, you know, obviously on their last leg, their games compliment one of them. Their games compliment one another.
Starting point is 00:38:25 Steph is, he's going to open up the floor for Brun just as much as Brun going to open up the floor for Steph to get wide open shots. I, listen, personally, I wouldn't mind seeing him in Golden State. Okay, Ocho, because of the fit. Because both of them, you know, it's not like, obviously, if you go to the, Miami that that'll be good, Ocho, but it's not like that. It's not like Janus and Braun because both of them kind of need the balls. You know what I mean? Steph don't really need the ball to be effective. Brun can facilitate, you know, they play great team defense. They ain't got nobody really sliding them puppies like that outside of Draymore
Starting point is 00:39:00 who's going to really sit down in their chair and guard. But I think collectively that unit that they're trying to build in Golden State, Ocho. I think that it'll be must-see-t TV, bro. No, not at all. Not at all. Who they got on defense? Just Draymond, right? You got to take your heart out of it, though. You got too much emotion.
Starting point is 00:39:19 Listen, no, listen. My heart is out of it. My heart is out of it. So basically you're putting yourself back in a leg of a situation with just the best shooter of all time. That's all you doing because ain't nobody can't nobody to pay no damn defense. For what? Then you got to deal with the Spurs.
Starting point is 00:39:31 Then you got to deal with the Nuggets. Then you got to deal with the Nuggets. Guess what? For what? It looks on paper. It looks cute. Yeah, yeah. Them teams got to deal with them too.
Starting point is 00:39:42 Huh? Them same teams you holl about, they're going to have to deal with Golda State too. You act like Golda State is going to be the G League team. I mean, what they, they, hey, Joe, come on, man. We talk about players on their last leg, even as great as they are. Even as great as they are, they're going to have to do too much. They have to exert too much to be able to compete with them young boys, man. I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:40:02 I don't think so. I'm sorry. I don't think so. Yeah, y'all don't listen to me. I don't think so. I think they have enough guys to work collectively as a unit, bro. they'll be effective, meaning there'll be probably a top-fire team in the Western Conference. And they got Prozingas that can protect the rim.
Starting point is 00:40:20 Drame, Prezingles. The only thing that you got to be here. Hey, hold on, the one that was with the Celtics? That the one that's always heard? Oh, yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:35 Okay. So, look, Joe, I've said it from the beginning. For me, the best, fit for him, he's going to have the ball at his hand all the time. It's Golden State. Yeah. Because like you said, Steph doesn't lead the ball. That's why Steph, that's why he and Steph looked so good at the Olympics.
Starting point is 00:40:56 That's why him, Steph and KD, look so good at the Olympics. Because Steph and KD don't need the ball. LeBron is going to look at LeBron finding a wide open. KD, wide open. Because Steph is running around and you got a, two. Two guys go with him and now somebody, hey, boo, don't. I think, and what's underrated, Uncle Ocho is that Braun's high IQ for the game, you know, that's so underrated because he will use Steph, Draymont, whoever else he got around him.
Starting point is 00:41:29 He will use them to his advantage, bro. I think, I think that'll be a good fit, but I also think it's a few other teams that'll be a good fit. So, hey, listen, Braun IQ is probably, you know, know, but because it's IQ is what it is, and we've seen it over the years, I understand he's smart enough and understands that Golden State is not the right place to go. Not the right place for me.
Starting point is 00:41:53 Like even though it looks good on paper, I would love the- Everything look good on paper. Miami looks good on paper. Philly look good on paper. All of them look good on paper, but how you play. Yeah, I understand.
Starting point is 00:42:08 I'm just saying, I'm technically- Okay, you got defense in Miami. Tell me your shooting. Tim Hardaway. That's one person. You told me Drayman, I was the only one to play defense. Who's your other shooter?
Starting point is 00:42:20 Clay would be there. He ain't there now. I'm talking about who's there. I mean, I'm not supposed to be revealing this information, but I'm just throwing it out. Yeah, but I'm saying. All right. Nobody wanted to listen to me.
Starting point is 00:42:34 Oh, you're talking about the claim. His numbers have dropped every year. He's not the same defender nor the same consistent shooter that he was, that Clay? Yeah, that clay. And things will change, you know, the spacing on the floor will be a lot better for him to be able to, you know, pop and shoot
Starting point is 00:42:48 like he normally has in the past. Yeah, yeah. You look at some of the teams and situations he'd been in. That's why his numbers have declined. Nothing wrong with him, actually. Oh, okay. You're saying he just ain't playing with great players. Yeah, yeah, he'd been on some bad situations.
Starting point is 00:43:04 I mean, Joe, my bad. Yeah. Hold on. Y'all need to understand. Like, what did he dealt with Stefan? Wasn't he there with Luca and Carrie? They're not great? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:18 Huh? I thought that's why he wanted to go. That's why he spurned. Hold on. Didn't he spurned the Lakers to go to Dallas? Because... Hold on, hold on, hold on. When he was in Dallas,
Starting point is 00:43:28 you talked about when Luca was there? Did you see the numbers? Did you see Lucas usage rate when he was there? Huh? He wasn't even able to shoot the ball as much as he wanted to. What do we talk about? Now, that is Lucas used for me. Hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 00:43:43 Let me, let me show you. I got ball knowledge. Okay. So what was the excuse in Golden State? Wait, what happened to go to state? He, he, he, he, he, he, he mean the, the gold state, the smash brother? Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's, that claim?
Starting point is 00:43:58 What happened? It wasn't nothing wrong with him now. Oh. Yeah, it wasn't that wrong with him. Yeah, he, he was, he, he, uh, why they get rid of, why they get rid of them there? The same reason, they didn't get rid of everybody else. Why do we get rid of, um, why the mad's get rid of Luca? No, they ain't the same reason.
Starting point is 00:44:13 same reason. Luke leading the league of score. That is a good, that a compelling argument. You do realize Luca has 70, what, 73? You saw that game? Luke out of 60-point trooper double down. They didn't get rid of the same reason.
Starting point is 00:44:26 Listen to me. Take your time, now, take your time. Why did they, let's, we know ball now, right? Yeah. Why did they get rid of Clay? His numbers that started to slip. Yeah. That's it.
Starting point is 00:44:40 That's it. That's it. Because here's the thing, Ocho. If your numbers start to slip, I can't pay you what you think you're worth. I can't pay you. See, Clay was thinking they were going to pay him on based on what he had done. Not what I'm paying you what I believe you can do.
Starting point is 00:44:58 So think about it. What Clay didn't understand is that when Clay, when Clay tore his knee, yes. They waited. And guess what happened the next year? He tore the Achilles. Talk to me. They waited.
Starting point is 00:45:10 Yeah. They didn't, they didn't reduce the salary. So for two years, Clay gave them nothing on the court. And they paid him. I can't pay you. Yes, we appreciate you helping us win those four titles. We could not have done it without you. But now I've got to pay you a salary based on what I believe you will do moving forward.
Starting point is 00:45:31 You know how this thing work. Hey, we all been there. You were with Cincinnati. All them pro bows, all them all pros that you had made. Now all of a sudden, yeah, hey, oh, y'all, we love you, very entertaining. but we don't believe we can pay you that $7 million that you deserve, that you've earned based on where you are now in your career. That's how they do.
Starting point is 00:45:57 You know it. Yeah, I'm like that. I don't like this. I was at 12, but go ahead. Okay. Well, hey, that's how they do. Yeah, yeah, it's cool. But listen, I understand.
Starting point is 00:46:07 Y'all don't appreciate Clay the way I do. But we appreciate him. He's one of the great shooters of all time. Hey, listen, hey, when he died here, when he's the second greatest shooter of all time, actually. I don't know. I think I might take that. When he's down here in Miami, that's me personally.
Starting point is 00:46:19 When he's in, listen, when he's down here in Miami and he, and he lighten shit up at the Casillas Center, you all remember exactly what you all said. Hey, As makes it you, you clock this and remember these days.
Starting point is 00:46:30 For me, I would take Dane because the problem is, is that we see Clay's numbers when Steph is not on the court. Steph is the greatest shooter because he's been the central part of the offense. Clay has never been the central part of an offense. He's been great, but he was never. the main focus. The focus has always been still.
Starting point is 00:46:49 Dame, even though when he had CJ, Dame was the focal. And that's why I give that. That's why I normally give guys that were the focal point of the offense. Like, Ray Allen don't get enough credit. People don't realize how great Ray was in Seattle and Milwaukee.
Starting point is 00:47:05 Y'all just look at Ray in Boston. Y'all look at Ray when he went to Miami, but y'all better go check Ray Allen when he was in Seattle and Milwaukee. Hey, hey, when I came in at 0-1, I caught him in Milwaukee. Then when I went to Phoenix, I called him when he was in Seattle.
Starting point is 00:47:21 In Seattle, here, he averaged about 26, 27 a game, Ocho. And poking on folks. Yeah. Yeah. Now, Ray, Ray, serious now. Y'all, y'all forget, y'all forget old 34, old 34 Milwaukee. Before Yonis had 34, Ray Allen had 34. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:41 I'm talking about a nice minute. Yeah. Yeah. So that's why I kind of lean towards guys that were the focal point. and the distance in which Dames shoot the ball from. That is ridiculous. There are two guys that you really have to pick up. Like in their prime, you had to pick them up at half court.
Starting point is 00:48:00 You couldn't let them see no day. And then Steph, you started having to pick him up beyond half court. Because he'd take one step. Dem and day would literally take one step, two dribbles, pass half court and let it go. At the goddamn logo. I'm like, come on, man. This is ridiculous. Hey, hey, he made it tough to guard him because think about this.
Starting point is 00:48:24 If you got a guy come across half court one or two steps and he can let it ride, then the defense got to be extended. So now when the pick and roll come, Ocho, I got all this real estate to work. Once I come off this pick and roll, oh, man, you at my mercy. Yeah, absolutely. And you get too close. They'll go right by you too. Hello.
Starting point is 00:48:43 Now you get backdoor cuts because all of a sudden, Dr. with a dribble with the dribble that draymond figure like he gonna hand it off and he turned and go to the rim and lay it up and dunk on you and then the dribble hand off with step and step got enough step and dame all those guys have done great jobs can handle the ball get it off the dribble that can catch and shoot they can finish at the rim even though neither one of those guys are mainly above the rim I think step might got like five dunks in his career dame can dunk a little bit dame got some ups but step man what that boy didn't call somebody day
Starting point is 00:49:16 I'm gonna cause somebody, well. But Steph, I think Steph got by, Steph said he was done. I think Steph dumped last year, Steph said, that's it for me. Yeah, he ain't got a dog here. He ain't got a dog here. He's shooting that thing, shooting a leather off that thing.
Starting point is 00:49:27 You're me? For sure. Yeah. Seventy-sixth president Bob Myers makes his case to LeBron and Rich Paul on why they should join the Sixers. If he was here, I'd say, honestly, I believe this is your best chance to win.
Starting point is 00:49:39 What's up, fam? I'm sports journalist, Ari Chambers. Hey, what's up, y'all? It's your girl, Sam Jay. This is First America, the true story of how the United States came to be, and how we got to this present moment.
Starting point is 00:54:33 Listen to First America on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. You have to decide all the other things that are equally important. What I would just say is, if it's about winning, let's talk about this team, because you can win here in Philly. Bob Myers is the one that helped put the Golden State Warriors together. Obviously, you know, with Clay and Steph and Draymond and all the pieces that they bought in, moving David Lee and doing certain things like that. And, you know, going out and getting KD and all those pieces. So he's done a great job.
Starting point is 00:55:09 He knows what it takes. He knows what a championship winning basketball team looks like. And he says with you, we can win. And we can win big. If I am listening to him and here. him correctly. Joe, what do you think Bob Myers? Because he was talking to, if I'm not mistaken, I think he was talking to Rich Paul on him and Matt, he and Max's, uh, a Kellerman's show. Yeah. Hey, listen, I think Bron going to Philly will be great. Uncle Ocho, only thing, man,
Starting point is 00:55:37 I'm telling y'all. Everything going to be revolved around and biding his health, bro. How many games he going to be able to play, what type of shape his ass going to be coming into camp, you know, looking like? Because if I'm Brian, it's like that, that's a real. that you're going to have to take in and I agree with Bob having Brun put you over the top because once you get to the postseason man y'all see how the game slows down you got to have guys who can control the game from start to finish can manipulate the defense and get whatever the hell he won't and I don't think nobody's better than that than LeBron James I'm sorry so I agree wherever he goes he's going to put whatever
Starting point is 00:56:16 team he goes to over the top out of them four or five teams whatever the case may but I wouldn't mind seeing him in Philly too in the Eastern Conference. Hey man, he, he got, he got some good choices to pick from. I tell you that, but I'm with Bob. Bob, no. Yeah, he built that, he helped build, uh, uh, you know, they great warriors team. So and Brun to that equation in Philly, if in B it's healthy, okay, Ojo, I'm sorry, bro, they're gonna, they, they're gonna be the favorites, trust me.
Starting point is 00:56:46 What'd you thinking, Ocho? I mean, I just said this on every show. That you all, listen, the fact that the chat continues not to listen to me, the fact that you two continue not to listen to me when it comes to my basketball savanness, I've been right, my percentage. I'm at like 97% when it comes to my basketball teams. Listen, listen, on and off the court, whether it's predicting games, whether it predicting where players are going to go,
Starting point is 00:57:13 the fact that y'all still question my knowledge at this point with the success that I've had on this show is beyond me. Listen, I respect all the opinions, the points that you guys are making on the Bron going to these teams and how he improves them exponentially is taken into consideration. But again, the best fit for him is still in Miami, you know, with him being able to do what he liked to do and having the ball on his hands and being able to facilitate, being able to dictate when he wants to put himself into a game and when he wants to turn it off. When he wants to turn it off, having BAM and having Yannas, along with the other complimentary pieces that Pat and Mickey Erison are going to provide for him in Miami is the best best fit for him. Listen, chat, I'm not sure what's wrong with you guys that are not agreeing with me. But I mean, I mean, you might be biased.
Starting point is 00:58:09 Me? No, you. No, I'm not biased. I'm listening to both of you. Both of you've made. No, I'm saying they're saying you're biased because you live in Miami. Obviously, you want what's best. You are Miami native.
Starting point is 00:58:22 You want what's best for the Guppies. You want what's best for the hip. You want what's best for the Marlins. So they're like, if you take your fandom out of it, is that really what is the best for him? Yeah, my fandom's not in it. My fandom's not in it. I'm understanding LeBron is on his last leg, huh?
Starting point is 00:58:40 Listen, you want to go out like them and Louise. You want to go out going off that cliff, you know, riding off into the sunset. And if you want to do it the best way, we're the only place that got the best son. All right, all right. Where else is there? Whatever?
Starting point is 00:58:54 If you're talking about, you know, the sun and sand like that, I get all that. But I'm not so sure based on, and like Joe said, Embed is the key, is the key factor because can he give us 65, 70 games? I don't know. That's a lot of games.
Starting point is 00:59:15 When is the last time you give you 65. It's not so much, 65, 70. I'm talking about what playoffs included because he gives you 65 games in regular season and then he only give you five in the postseason. Don't do nothing because you saw what happened and you saw what happened last year. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:31 He missed him. That's what I said. Go ahead. You got to, hey, you got to see where his mind there, bro. Is he willing to take his body through the vigorous, you know, schedule of training and really, really coming in the camp in shape? That's the main thing, bro. can't use camp to get in shape no no you know what I mean you got to especially I'm
Starting point is 00:59:52 I'm speaking of championship caliber teams because they come in they ready to hit the flow and get going bro yeah we ain't got time to be waiting catch up you know brun going to come in uh looking like a boxer at 42 years old that man feeling to come in he hey listen he he felt like he'll have a point to prove jb going to have a point to prove that's the only thing okay oh cho you think about it because you got maxi and edge come you don't want them to get lost in the sauce along the way because you don't want to stunt they grow. You know what I mean? So that's another thing that you got to take into consideration because you know,
Starting point is 01:00:25 them boys need the ball now. Especially, especially Maxi. Because when you give the ball to Maxi, you look at the way Maxi plays with Embed is not in there and he has the ball. And look at the way he plays when he has the ball and then Beds in there. So now you add another guy to that mix. You add another guy. Same thing.
Starting point is 01:00:44 If I'm not mistaken, I think, Maxy when when Hardin was there he couldn't be the best thing to happen was they turned it over to Maxie and you see him grow look look at his numbers the moment they got rid of Hardin because it's hard enough you got Hardin you got Hardin and then Maxie the third option so he really couldn't he really couldn't he really couldn't do what he needed to do because Because, you know, we already know, Embed is an MVP. He got to get his touch. It is what it is.
Starting point is 01:01:19 Hardin is an MVP and Hardin is best when he has the ball in his hand. Yeah. And it wasn't until they got off Hardin that we saw what Maxie, what many believe Maxie could be. What he currently is, a phenomenal player, but he needs the ball. I want to see him go to Golden State. Hey, that's why it seems. like Golden State and Miami are the front runners.
Starting point is 01:01:45 Because of Cleveland, you know, Donovan and James Hardin going to need the ball just as much as Edgecom and Maxie is going to need it in Philly. Too much confusion, man. Yeah, he'll be able to kind of just play make and kind of float, Ocho he'd go to Miami or Gold State. I ain't going to lie to you. I ain't going to lie to him. Jayon Brown need the ball, Maxie needed the ball,
Starting point is 01:02:10 then the beat down at the clock, up the paint, Plogging up the paint because he ain't really no stress five here. You know he a big who played with it back to the back. That's too much confusing man too much confusing slowing everything down. Come on down here, I mean it's not like they got the best shooting team in Philly either Joe Now, but they got some guys who can catch and shoot like I think maxi is a pretty good catch and shoot Edge come obviously he's gonna get better. J.B can they can play off the ball but here they want that they're most impactful on it there you go
Starting point is 01:02:41 there you go yeah you know I know her little birdies man you know demar you know a little homie you know out of L.A they say he coming
Starting point is 01:02:48 to the Miami I don't know I don't know you know I got a holl at my homeboy you know see where he's man at
Starting point is 01:02:55 what would he like you know we want to stay out west you want to come on down here east well the problem is the problem if Miami try to go
Starting point is 01:03:04 get the Rose and Ocho yeah as great as the Rosen is he's take your time Take a time. He's a mid-range assassin.
Starting point is 01:03:12 He's really not a guy that I would really, I can really, really see playing out of Yonnes, Brun, and Bam. If you just want me to be 100. Unless he's coming out to bitch. And here, I mean, he'll probably get a chance of where he can go star somewhere, I want to show. That's what I'm saying. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:29 I mean, at this point in time, what's going to be important to him? Does he really want a chance to compete for a title? Because he hadn't had that in a very, very long time. He's made his money. Um, and that's the thing, you know, coming out the bench, uh, Joe. And so now you know, you come out to bench, Joe, you're going to get some backup. Now the thing is, he's a starter. Yeah, he's a starter.
Starting point is 01:03:50 Hey, listen, and it coming off that bench, it takes some time adjusting. Because think about this. At 36 years old, okay, oh, Joe, I thought you in that damn game come mid second quarter. And you don't, you don't get no damn time to warm up. You got to get right to it. You got back back in the tunnel, Joe, got to go get on that exercise back. Water their legs up. I'm telling you, it's different going off that bench, boy.
Starting point is 01:04:16 It's a little different. I'm saying it's different coming off the bench when you've been starting pretty much your whole career and every team you've been on, they've kind of played through you, and now you're going just to be a small piece of a puzzle. It takes some adjusting. You ain't lying, Joe,
Starting point is 01:04:32 because they put my whole boy in the game, Lee, we used to work out at Georgia Tech. And they're like, flower was you up man he'd been sitting that bit that joke was running out of the field stretching that you're running out of the field stretchy hey hey you would you when you when you get older bro I need to get out there man I can't be hey you jumping up and down and you running on there getting on the bike and trying to warm the legs up shit hey hey hey you got them heat packs on your knees you like damn I know he
Starting point is 01:05:08 throw me in a minute let me put these heat packs on here hey man listen you got you got to be ready for you go a hey a Greek give me a quick stretch hey you go get you go to the condition coach that you lay in that hey give me quick yeah yeah man I'm over the man I'm telling the title of the skin on the grape man well hey listen and then when you jump in the game it's already going forward in north you know I'm saying I'm talking about at a high rate and you got to catch up right away hell it's gonna take you four five trips up and down the court before you even get this thing started. Hammy's, ooh.
Starting point is 01:05:43 Miami's feeling like guitar strings. Like, oh. I said, boy, you don't let me pull it down here, man. Lord, how mercy. They don't damn well. Hey, you let me start. I come out after the first play, but I got the agony to be on the field. Let me do something, man.
Starting point is 01:05:58 I can't be sitting over here. Three, four minutes, done going off the clock and before you put me in. Yeah. But do you realize, do you really believe, Joe, that this is a place that LeBron can win a championship in Philly with the cast of character that you mentioned. Joel and B. Tirese Maxie Jalen Brown, B.J. Etchcombe, do you believe this is a place that he could actually win a title?
Starting point is 01:06:19 I think so, Uncle, you got to have a real meeting with the guys, though, you know, because you're going to need everybody to buy him, bro. We understand everybody have individual goals and team goals, and you want to meet your individual goals. I ain't mad at that, but at the same time, all of our goals got to be aligned to what it is, the ultimate. you know, prize is to win a title. You know what I mean? Do I think he have a chance if he go to Philly? Yes. I think he got a chance if you go a couple more places too.
Starting point is 01:06:48 What's up, Joe? Joe, it's too many people in Philly that got to prove themselves. It's not going to work. You got J.B. who just got traded, right? J.B. need that ball. J.B. for going to show you, y'all let me go, right? I need to show y'all, y'all made a mistake. You got LeBron at 42 years old.
Starting point is 01:07:06 Going to a team, we already have to. players that need the ball in their hand to be able to get jiggy and do what they already do then lebron also wants to prove himself i don't care what kind of meeting they have what kind of meeting they have what kind of meeting lebron hold with them too many people have to prove themselves and too many people on that team actually need the ball in their hands for it to work you don't think yonis wants to prove himself you don't think bam won't prove himself you don't think if they get clay he wants to prove himself so where can he go other than golden state where guys don't have to prove themselves.
Starting point is 01:07:40 They got to prove themselves over there too. No, they don't. Yeah, they don't. Steph is already proven. But so is Bam and Yann. So is Bam and Yon. Ram ain't won no title. Yonni's got to prove now.
Starting point is 01:07:51 They gave up what they gave for him. He's got to prove he can win a title. That's why he went to Miami. He felt his best chances were by it because there's two teams that he's willing to sign off on. Boston and, and, uh, Miami. Boston offered two years. Miami offering three.
Starting point is 01:08:06 So, so, so, So where is he? Hardin and Donaldman Mitchell, got to prove something. Evan Mobley, got to prove something. So I'm trying to figure out, again, where can he go other than Golden State? They ain't got to prove nothing.
Starting point is 01:08:22 Yeah, they do. So what they plan for if they ain't got to prove nothing? It's a difference. So let me ask you a question. If Steph don't want another championship, that changed the way you look at it? No, absolutely. Why not?
Starting point is 01:08:35 Why? Because the team he's around. They suck. They ain't going to win another title. So now you go to Philly. You say they got to prove. So what does J.B. have to prove?
Starting point is 01:08:46 That he can do the same thing he did when he was in Boston. What does the B? What does Maxie got to prove? They can still play at a high level. Now that he got the ball in the heart. What about Embed? He proved he can still healthy. Okay.
Starting point is 01:09:03 Now, let's go to the other team, Cleveland. Who need to prove something over there? Oh, shoot. Donovan Mitchell. And hold on. He definitely gets the ball. You saw, but he just got paid. What about James Harden?
Starting point is 01:09:15 Oh, he definitely got a lot to prove. Not in the regular scene, but in the post. What about Aaron Mowgli? Hey, that's young boy that played a phone, huh? Yeah. Yeah, he's nice. I like him. But he got to prove something, though, don't he?
Starting point is 01:09:26 Because you saw he was late? Okay. Now we get to Yonis. Yonis left. He says, I'm leaving Milwaukee because I, y'all don't have enough here. So I need to go there. So now he's got to prove outside of Milwaukee. He had no more faith in Milwaukee.
Starting point is 01:09:44 He put all his trust in Pat Riley, Mickey Erison, Eric Spolstra. Hey, can I tell you something too long? And Joe? What was that? And I hate to disclose this information. You know, I don't want to mess up my sources, right? Do you know before players move, right,
Starting point is 01:10:00 regards to the intel and word of mouth and the sources say this? You know, these players, they do converse with each other, right? Yes, yeah. Before these moves are made, you know, they have conversations, right? Well, you listen, this is. What's going to happen? No, I'm trying to get down here. And if I come here, please let me know.
Starting point is 01:10:16 I won't say anything. Let me know what you think before I make this move. I'm just trying to figure out. So you don't think, yeah, you'll think, listen, Janus and Bam and LeBron have had conversations understanding the landscape on what makes the most sense for everybody in the totality. While we sit here and have conversation and dialogue on where he might go or what's the best fit and what do you let?
Starting point is 01:10:37 No, no, no. Everything is already in place. LeBron already knows where he's going. he already knows where he's going but this is what I like about having being in a position of power where you control everything. You know how Aaron Rogers does? Always have everybody on pins
Starting point is 01:10:51 and needles waiting to see what he's going to do. We want to know he's going to be our quarterback. Is he not? LeBron is in a position to be able to do the same thing. I don't think he's going no yet. I'm telling you, Joe, he'd know. I don't think he does it either, Joe. We talk about a strategist, huh? Someone very methodical and all the moves that he's
Starting point is 01:11:07 made all this life. He knows where he's going. I think he got Well, obviously he got some options, but I think he kind of weighing him right now, meaning like he wants to know, okay, if I do sign here, who the hell is? I think pros and cons about everything, Joe. I agree with you.
Starting point is 01:11:22 Yeah, yeah, like, who the hell is y'all going to get if y'all get me? You know what I mean? Because the roster still got to be filled out. Oh, yeah. Oh, it's going to fill out. It's going to fill out like a BBL. Don't worry about it.
Starting point is 01:11:33 You know, if you go back and look at LeBron, um, he kind of like, with the exception of the, the Lakers, that was the only unknown that we've ever seen him go to. When he met the, when he went to Miami, what did he know? He came in with Bosch. He knew D. Wade. He goes back to Cleveland.
Starting point is 01:11:53 He had already been to Cleveland. He goes to Golden State. He's very familiar with Steph. They competed against each other. And I think they got really close when they played on the Olympic team. Yep. Philly is an unknown. Even though he and Tyrese Max are really good friends.
Starting point is 01:12:08 You know, I think he really likes Tyrese Maxi. He's not familiar with Philly, that organization, or those guys like he say he were when he went to Miami. Or like when he went back to Cleveland because Cleveland, he grew up 30, what, he's 45 minutes away in Akron. So he's very familiar with Cleveland. He knew Dan Gilbert. So I think for me, and now if he were to go to Miami, obviously he knows folk, he knows Mickey and he knows Pat. He knows Riles. he doesn't yeah he played on the Olympic team with uh with bam uh this past uh in 24 in paris he's not
Starting point is 01:12:49 that i mean he's competing against uh yonnis but you don't really know yonis that well not like he knows step because they've been on all-star teams together you know more times than not and so it's going to be really really interesting i do i think oh joe i think apart i think he know look miami look we know the teams i don't think nobody else is in and nobody else in the running I don't think anybody else is called Rich. I think Philly believe they have a chance. I think Miami believe they have a chance. Cleveland believe they have a chance and Golden State
Starting point is 01:13:18 believe they have a chance. You tell you, if Braun and Steph want to play together, they're gonna play together. It won't be on the same team. That's probably be in the All-Star game. Well, it won't be in the All-Star game because Steph would be in the West and LeBron will be in the East.
Starting point is 01:13:31 Hey, well, listen, they might be on the same team, but they're gonna play together. Just on opposite teams. That's exactly where it's gonna happen. Well, you heard Steph, Steph say he's been calling the man. They don't let them get on the golf course together, Joe. Because you know a lot of deals been made on the golf course, Ocho.
Starting point is 01:13:47 Oh, man, you know what? That might be the separator right there. See, y'all don't understand. See, Steph playing the game with LeBron. He feeding that information out there to keep everybody in confusion, as if he doesn't know where he's going. Listen, I'm trying to lure him over here. Steph know where the hell are you going.
Starting point is 01:14:04 Draymond know where the hell are going. Huh? This is, this is all about the mystique, you know? Keep everybody going. keep everybody talking yeah yeah I know see I understand the game y'all just ain't peep game right oh okay okay yeah yeah you know I would play the game too okay okay I'll get I'll get me a gold estate number 23 though oh that's draymond's number didn't draymond 23 yeah is he 23 I don't know I know he were 23 in college I think I don't know if he was 23 would
Starting point is 01:14:38 hey but check think brunt go he'll go to a different number or something I don't think I think he gonna go to a whole new yeah I forgot you can't do six anymore because he's retired around the league that's uh mr russell's number so it's retired he got to go he got to get nine his Olympic number the number that he wore in football in and at high school seven there's what nine no but now okay okay okay oh his Olympic number was nine and his football number was nine okay okay okay okay okay hey chess where they know everything man they say they swear you because they got they got degrees and stuff What are they talking about that?
Starting point is 01:15:15 Since y'all know everything, hold on, since y'all know everything, what's the difference between a sock and a camera? Huh? Yeah, how about that? Since y'all know everything. What's the difference? Hey, Joe.
Starting point is 01:15:26 No, Joe, what's the difference between a sock and a camera? A sock? Yes, a sock. Yeah, a camera? A camera, yeah. I don't know, Joe. Well, I'm going to tell you, huh? One takes five toes, the other takes four toes.
