Ocho, Bobby Porter's suspended 25 games after he mistakenly took painkiller tramadol rather
than torodol.
Porter said in a statement, I was dealing with an elbow injury and using an NBA approved
medication for pain and inflammation.
During that time, I made an honest mistake and took a pain-reducing anti-inflammatory
pill that is not approved.
I feel terrible.
I recognize that I'm responsible for what I put in my body.
Porter took painkiller unintentionally, said his agent.
Porter thought he was taking Toradol,
which you can get it in appeal form or the inject them,
because I know I don't got plenty of them shots in my butt.
Yeah.
With proof he was taken.
Porter didn't realize that he was taking Tramadol,
which was properly prescribed,
but is on the NBA's banned substance list.
Doc Rivers said he believed the punishment shouldn't be so severe given the circumstance.
I mean given the circumstance, obviously as a player you got to know what you put into your body.
Obviously don't you have people that you talk to before you even get any type of prescriptions or, you know, this. I mean, this they got so they got the resources, the, you know,
the team could give you that.
The team could give you that whatever it is you need.
You have somebody if they if we had it when I was playing, I know they
I know goodwill. They got it now.
Hey, go to the head trainer.
Hey, listen, my elbow man is bothering me.
It's swelling up on me. Can you get some for me?
Can you give me something? So, I mean, it's swelling up on me. Can you get something for me? Can you give me something?
So, I mean, it's like, it's kind of hard to believe.
Like, how do you not know?
How do you not know?
Because if you need anything,
everything you need is right there in house.
You ain't even gotta go outside.
Y'all to talk about, yes.
Guys, when you take a tortol,
and it's basically like, it's a pain medication,
but boy, you feel so good.
I mean, I ain't smoking a weed,
and I don't know what it's like,
but you feel like, boy, you feel invincible.
Now you feel like your ass got beat with a bat
once you get done with that game.
Once it go down, yeah.
But you get an injection in your butt.
And so that's what, boy, y'all take everything,
y'all try to make everything sexual.
I question a lot of you guys.
No, no, seriously, Ocho.
A lot of these guys, I really question them
because they so consumed with that kind of stuff.
I'm like, damn, this is the way we talk.
I mean, like I said, I don't know what's in the locker room.
I've been removed 20 years from the locker room.
So I don't know how that's like. But when wecho, I've been removed 20 years from the locker room. So I don't know how that is.
But when we talk like, hey, man, hey,
you got that?
You got that shot, you got that shot in the butt?
I mean, Ocho used to be a lion.
It wasn't a one or two, it was a lion to get that.
I ain't never take the pill, Ocho.
Like I said, I know there is a pill,
but I didn't take it.
Give me that shot, I need that thing to work quick.
Yeah, I had the pill.
I had the pill, obviously, when I tore my labrum,
I tore my labrum from six to 12,
but I didn't miss no time, and so I had to
put that harness on there so you couldn't raise it.
So I couldn't raise it all the way.
So I wore the harness and I took,
for about maybe three weeks, I took the tortor,
I took the pill.
Man, I wasn't playing with that needle oh no sir if they in a tattoo
I'm not gonna give me that needle because I did cuz that pill you gotta
digest it got a liver gotta break it down they gotta get processed no baby
I need that thing just like that roast sparks right away I put it up under my
tongue and it dissolves up under the bloodstream country boy here country
boy here but it wasn't doing that that shot that up under the bloodstream, counterboy here, counterboy here. But it wasn't doing that.
That shot, that shot getting in that bloodstream, pow-dow.
Oh, and so look, no, Ocho, I took shots in my butt,
I took them in my ribs, I took them in my ankles,
I took them in my shoulders.
Oh, man, look, hey, hey, I had to get out there,
I had to get it.
Mary Porter had to eat.
Right.
He had to eat. So, like I said, and that's the thing to Ocho. Like you said, they got, they do
got, uh, but see the thing is Ocho, the problem with you, we've heard it so much. People lie.
Oh, my massage, stampers rubbed me down with this cream. And that's how that steroid got in my body.
Oh, you know what? Somebody, somebody by protein shake and somebody put got in my body. Oh, you know what, somebody, somebody, my protein shake
and somebody put this in my body. So, so now we've become so distrusted and it could have been an
honest mistake, Ocho. In actuality, it could have been an honest mistake. Yes, but because people
have lied so much and contaminated our thought process. Nah, hell nah, just go, hey, 25, slap
that 25 up on him.
Yeah. I mean, but when you think about it, you think about it, I'm just saying if there's something wrong with you, the first place you go to is your training room right there in the facility.
They get you everything you want. You don't even have to go outside. There's no point.
You have every resource known to man right there. It's the NBA, huh?
Get it.
Because I don't-
This ain't high school.
This ain't your high school basketball team.
Remember, it's all of, what do the pills look like?
Is it sugar in a salt situation
that you don't know what it is until you taste it?
And then by that far, it's too far down.
Now me, Ocho, when I got like certain supplements,
like, hey, Greek, what you thinking?
You know, hey, he's like, Sharpie, let me do some research.
Sharpie, it's not on the list,
but if I was you, I wouldn't do it.
That's why I always, Steve Antonopoulos,
we call him Greek.
And when I was in Baltimore, John Tessendorf,
we call him Big Tess.
Like, hey, Tess, what you think?
Well, Sharpie, I think you're good to go.
Shoot me straight because I'm gonna tell them,
say look, I went to my athletic trainer
and I went to my athletic trainer
and they say we good to go.
So if it's a lie, you need to suspend them
because I ain't going nowhere.
Because I remember when they started,
when they put DHEA on that list,
guys were taking DHEA, got popped.
You know, ended up a, a, a, a federal, uh, when the,
when the guy, I don't know, you went in the league the time when, uh,
rest is sold Corey Stringer. He, uh,
Oh, the lineman, the lineman,
yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes. They banned a federal, you know,
guys used to take a federal cause that a it speeds your heart rate up.
You sweat. Ooh, boy, look here. You're talking about drop seven, eight pounds in a day.
Just like that, look at you sweat.
Yeah, man.
But boy, you sweat.
Oh, you talking about sweating.
Right.
Like Michael Jackson before the vertigo was red,
you sweating like that, Ocho.
You know what I'm saying, Ocho?
I'll be you.
Hey, but no, and like I said, it could have been an honest mistake.
But, Ocho, like you said, with all the resources and you got now, don't even chance it, guys.
Don't even chance it.
But I don't know, Ocho, that's what I'm saying.
You said, man, I'm scared of that knee-less tattoo.
Bro, you get, like I said, I don't have no tattoos.
So I don't know if it did, but I hear did, did, did, did,
did, did, did, did, did.
Well, hold on, hold on, hold on.
Wait, you got to understand now.
I've seen what the needle look like
when it's time to get that tattoo.
And I've seen the needle when I'm getting,
listen, I got 43 tattoos.
You can't see them, but I got them. Yeah, they't see them, but I got them.
Yeah, they hard to see, but I got them.
And it's a pain that is bearable to me.
It's weird, it's weird.
I can sit there, I can sit there for a four or five hour
session, but you're not sticking me
with that twirl all needle.
That ain't happening.
Give me that needle.
Hey, I did, hey, Ocho, I can't, hey, man.
No.
I can't sit there and let you,
ta-ta-ta-ta-ta.
Now, look, obviously you got fatty tissue in your butt,
got muscle, but boy, think about Ocho
when they hit that bone in them ankles,
or they go in through your ribs,
or they hit that, hey, that needle this long,
and they go into that shoulder,
and they gotta move it around,
cause they gotta get as much medicine in there,
and in many different areas.
Man, please.
Hey, Claudia.
Yeah.
Oh, I came into like a reef on her like my movie
cause my girl, she came in earlier
and she got some $400 damage.
And she was talking about some you were holding her hostage
and about to call the cops.
What?
And then I get, like she gets home
and bro it's just some lines at the top.
That's not, that's not no $400.
Well, first off, I haven't done $400 nails today.
So I, I just want to make that,
I haven't done $400 nails today.
What's your, what's your girlfriend's name?
Her name's Stacy.
She had an eight o'clock appointment in the morning today.
I'm going to show you hers though,
cause I don't want, I don't want any drama or no BS
cause this is something you're going to have to figure out because I don't want, I don't want any drama or no BS because this is something you have to figure out.
We're her, but her nails were only $80 today.
Well, here's her, here's her result. It was only $80.
I haven't done no $400 nails today, dude.
So nobody was holding anybody hostage or calling the police or anything like that.
So you're gonna have to go figure it out with her.
But I haven't done no $400 nails.
Oh, I don't know.
I think she lies to me.
I'm gonna talk to her.
No, she definitely lies to you.
Oh, f***.
She scammed you, bro.
But I'm not the scammer here.
It's your girlfriend.
So you better go figure it out.
Thank you.
Yep.
All right, whoa.
Hey, you know what?
Whoa.
Hell.
That's his fault.
That's his fault.
Now listen, listen, as a boyfriend, you supposed to know how much maintenance costs for the
woman you dealing with.
You got to have some type of background, some type of some type of knowledge of nails, hair,
lashes, wigs, coloring, you
know, sew-ins, you got you got to know all that stuff, you know, so he's not he's
not sharp and he's not detailed and knowing what his women likes and how
much the things cost that she needs for her upkeep. $400? You know better than
that. You should know better than that. Yeah, that's. Like, I do nails, huh?
I do lashes, you know?
No, I do eyebrows.
I thread.
You know, I do individuals.
I do strips.
Like, I do my daughter's makeup.
You hear me?
So you got to know that stuff, man.
He trippin'.
Like, he don't really need to have no girlfriend.
I'm just being honest, because that's stuff you're supposed to know that stuff, man. He trippin'. Like, he don't really need to have no girlfriend.
I'm just being honest, because that's
stuff you're supposed to know.
If your girl asks you, I need $400 to get my nails done,
you're supposed to look at her.
Are you OK?
Are you OK?
Because you think I don't know no better?
You ain't even asked.
Man, most guys, most guys, they're
going to take the, I mean, you take your woman.
I mean, if you don't, if if you if she tell you a certain number you don't believe it, but you probably to move on
Yeah
Or which wish you can do is instead of lying about it, but she allowed about that
Yeah, she live about something that's all she allowed about that's my point
If you don't trust her to tell you that the money that wasn't the cause for to get the nails,
what else you don't trust her about?
You need to move on.
It's really that simple.
And matter of fact, what she did
with the rest of the money anyway?
Might have spent it on a side dude.
Probably.
I'm just saying, let me stop that.
I don't know what she did with it, okay?
I don't know.
Maybe she went and got her makeup done.
Maybe she went and got a makeup done. Maybe she went and
got another service provided for with that extra money. I don't know. If you tell me,
Shannon, I need X amount of dollars for my hair, hey, Shannon, I need this and this.
Okay, I'm going to give it to you. Man, look here. Every time you ask me for something
and if I got to worry about it, if I'm giving it to you and you doing what you say,
that ain't got nothing to do with me.
Right.
I can't worry.
I ain't gonna lie to you.
I can't even worry about it.
Yeah, I understand what you mean, Unc.
But just the fact that I'm well versed
and I have expertise in all those areas
when it comes to the upkeep and understanding the prices and how they range
You know very don't what it is. You're trying to get it at that ain't gonna work
You ain't finna pull you ain't finna pull the wool over my eyes. I know what everything cost
everything
From high in the low end. So how you want to play the game?
Yeah, and matter of fact you really can't get no money
out of me anyway, because half your upkeep,
I know how to do it anyway.
I don't care.
Oh, you need to-
I don't care if a woman doesn't know how to do my upkeep.
She ain't cutting no hair.
What the hell you want?
Hey, I need my lashes done.
Well, come on over here and lay down.
What you want?
Hybrid, classic, mega volume? Oh, that works. What you need? Come on, come on over here and lay down. What you want? Hybrid, classic, mega volume?
Oh, that works.
What you need?
Come on, come on lay down.
What you want strips?
If you in a hurry, I give you some strips real quick.
Hell, I give you individuals.
Play with me if you want to.
Talk about I need $300.
Man, get out my face.
No, I mean, that's how I am.
Look, I ain't got time.
You say, hey, I need X amount for my hair.
I need X amount for this.
OK, I need X amount to get my car fixed.
OK, fine.
I'm going to take your word for it.
Just be careful now.
Yeah.
Because once you break my trust, I will.
Oh, yeah, it's a rap boy.
It's a rap.
And matter of fact, you know what?
I'ma leave it alone.
Where they?
I'ma leave it alone.
I ain't gonna say it.
I ain't gonna say it.
He he he he he he he he he.
Yeah, I'ma leave it alone.
Yeah, it's a, it is what it is man.
Like I said, I be look, sometimes I don't know,
sometimes people take advantage of your kindness
or your generosity or whatever the case may be.
And you know, it is what it is, Ocho.
Yeah, man. Yeah.
It's a situation where, you know, you're like, damn,
just be honest. If the nails cost where, you know, you're like, damn, just be honest.
If the nails cost four and it costs 400, if they cost 200, they cost 200.
If they cost 100, they cost 100. I'm thinking, Ocho, it's hard for me to see a scenario because
hell, I get my nails done once a week and I, you know, it's at least 110. I mean, sometimes it's
like, I mean, some places it's give or take. When I go to Atlanta, it's 140. The lady I
did, Tasha, hey Tasha, I know you watching her once 165 lady
here in the five men Vegas, they 110. This is what it is. Right.
So it's harder for me to see a scenario that,
especially women get like, I think,
what do they call them, jails?
Acrylics?
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
It's hard for me to see a scenario where they,
they're not gonna be, they're gonna be at least what,
a 150?
How much jail nail cost, chat?
You about right, you right up there.
Yeah, so right up there.
So I'm assuming.
Hey listen, it can get a little bit more expensive
when you start to add, when you add the designs.
We add the designs and stuff.
Now you talking, yeah, yeah.
I should, I got a friend of mine, she does nails.
I should have hit her up,
but I knew we was just gonna be talking,
ask how much she charge.
Man, she probably be trying to break people out.
She probably be charging two, $300.
Cause you know, she like, she's like an artist.
So she can draw stuff on the nails and stuff like that.
And I get that.
So you know, you taking that kind of time.
I get it.
Somebody say 195.
$1500 for what?
Ain't no nails cost no $1,500.
If y'all man give y'all $1,500.

They changed it.
And the heart's a little pink.
It felt like I told you I loved you.
I'm gonna be honest, it was a little pink.
There was something sentimental when you send it.
You're just like, do I send the heart now?
I don't like the color edition.
It's extremely pink.

It was a moment that should have broken me,
but just because of how I was raised
and my bullishness and arrogance to want to be great
hardened me.
It gave me a platform to be so singularly focused
on greatness.
We all have moments like this.
Something happens that's supposed to break us.
But it's in these moments that we discover
what we're really made of.
I promise you, if anyone knows this, it's me.
I'm Ashlyn Harris.

You ever had your hair straight?
No, no, no, no, I had dreads.
I had dreads, so I, they was locked up so I could never take it out and have my hair
perm or have my hair straight like that.
Oh Joe, your hair won't grow.
Your hair will be just like mine.
Low, your whole life.
Now you bald.
I can grow a hair full of hair.
I've showed that. Okay.
I've showed that countless times.
I'm I have a full year line.
Everybody 15 years ago had hair.
I'm talking about just.
Okay, let's do you want me to grow my hair out?
No, that's the only reason I cut my hair consistently,
and I've been doing it for so long, is I don't like the maintenance that comes with having hair.
I don't want to put grease on my scalp. I don't want to train my hair to lay down.
I don't want waves. It's like the whole tedious process.
And I got sick of it. When I'm ready to go, I want to get out the shower,
and I want to dry my head and walk out the house. I don't
Sound like a man that's like a man to say and I want to be broke man
You think I won't have money in my pocket and if I bank account it's just too hard to keep up with
I understand what you're saying. But listen that that's that's apples and oranges them two different scenarios
No, oh Joe you can't grow hair.
And if you grow it is minimal.
I got a full set of hair right now.
Look at my hairline.
You see me here like coming in.
You see me coming in and listen.
No, no, you got to go a little further back.
You started to do that.
Don't do that. Don't do that.
My hairline. Listen, I did it.
This is my hair.
Matter of fact, I'm going to get a shave up just for you.
What? Shave what up?
I'm gonna let my hair grow and I'm gonna get a shave up
so I can show you I can grow a full set of hair.
And I got good hair. I got good hair.
What is that?
Huh? What is it?
Huh?
What is it?
It's, sir, I just shows you.
Ocho, you pointed back here to bro.
You pointed back there.
My hairline is right there.
It's right there, you looking right at it.
It's right there.
Ocho.
Look at my forehead.
From your hairline, Ocho.
From your hairline to your forehead.
That's at least a $20 Uber ride.
I was stupid to say that.
Listen, my head too small so I know that's not true.
But I'm just saying, my hairline is intact.
I don't...
Ocho, you see how shiny that is, Ocho?
Your hair won't grow there. What do you mean mean I shine that's the light. That's the light
That the light shining on my forehead
That's for my skincare routine. That's why that's why I look like this
That's why I look like this that's why the ladies love me
The is this the chocolate
Yeah, you're chocolate now.
They like that.
You get no debate.
Hey, no debate for me.
They like that.
Hey, I swallowing, I solemnly swear that you swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
So help you God.
I do.
Yeah, one thing about it.
One thing, when it comes to chocolate, one thing about women, they ain't got no problem getting cavities.
You hear me?
Huh?
Oh Lord have mercy.
Talk to me now.
Lord have mercy, John.
Jesus. What's wrong?
What happened?
Yes, man. What?
Here?
I'm just telling you, I'm just telling you, if you...
I ain't, I'm not telling you what I heard.
I'm telling you what I...
I ain't even look, black bar, all I know is this. If you'd have been my age
in the 80s, you'd have got no place because black wasn't in.
They like like they like elder barge, Chico the barge.
They like them. No, no, no. It don't matter what they like.
Is this something I had that nobody else didn't and I still
got it. Huh? It's called work. It wasn't until, it wasn't until Michael Jordan,
Michael Jordan came in, Wesley Snipes came in.
That's what put us on the map.
I've been on top of the charts since they came in.
So about mid 80s, like 80, 80, Mike came in at 84.
So like 86, my senior year, been top of the charts.
That ain't it.
That ain't it.
Cause I, 40, 40 years I've been on top of the charts. I had a special gift. I had a year. Been talking to y'all. That ain't it. That ain't it. Cause I, I do. 40, 40 years I been at the top of the charts.
I had a special gift.
I had a special gift.
Al B. sure, they been to Al B. sure.
Yeah, that's a good one.
But I have to say.
Yeah, see Chico the Barge,
L the Barge.
Hey, them boys, them boys were nice now.
But listen, if I was there during they time
when the Life Skinned Dudes was in, there was something I had that they did.
I don't care about you making them music.
I don't care about you singing to the women.
You hear me?
Because I had to give a gab.
It was all about wordplay.
Huh?
No.
They wouldn't let you talk to them.
Oh, they going to talk to this.
They going to talk to this.
Oh, Javier, it's telling me.
The brother in dark skin brother, where you get no play on Joe?
They going to talk to sugar.
You hear me?
I'm telling you.
Hey, you got style.
I'm gonna make you laugh.
I'm gonna laugh right at your drawers.
Huh?
Ha.
He, he, he, he.
Hey.
Hey.
Boy, you ain't getting no play on you.
Went out of style just like Polly Elston.
Oh.
You can make a comeback.
But when I think about it, Chico and Ailed Abar,
I'm talking about now you got me thinking about the music,
the music they made, man.
Music was like the name.
Oh, they sing that, yeah.
That's some good music.
Like the music from the 80s, it was different.
80s and early.
Oh my God.
Yeah.
Oh, they were, but see, but see, I don't remember hearing nothing about no
garden tools.
It wasn't no, no three or four.
They ain't saying about that.
They're saying about women.
They're saying about ladies.
They talk about love now.
Now they talking about jumping up and down and you need to lock out a fool.
You know, man, I just like she.
Oh, man, that's correct.
It just don't make they just don't make it.
They don't they don't they don't make music like they used to.
And everybody I talk to, they said,
you know, R.M.B.A. dead, but bro, they don't sing like they used to sing.
They don't. They don't. They don't sing like they used to sing they don't
Beg They don't be I guess because see the women used to make you beg to get up a part of it
Hey, what song now they beg you to get up?
What a big song was it huh, I give you my credit card my key my keys in my house
I can't think of I gave you my credit card, my keys, my keys in my house. I can't think of, I gave you my son the rain.
You know?
Yeah. Who's that saying, I'll pay your rent.
I'll buy your clothes.
Yeah, I know what you're talking about.
Yeah.
You.
That was back in the day.
Now see, if I had sung that song, if I played that song for somebody,
didn't know you lying, this gentleman, you broke.
We see where you live at.
You can't.
Hey, check.
What song is that check?
I guess. Oh, no.
OK, so it was the number one bag.
No, what song is that?
He was baby.
But about a baby face.
After seven takes six, all of them.
I knew there were the days on Joe. after seven take six all of them
Do with the day though Joe deal with the days
They all know they print money in LA if the Dodgers
They got Mookie hell in just in just uh in two Saturdays. They got a big way
Brady Freeman. Mookie. Hey, I got a question.
Listen, I don't want to sign.
Ignore. I honestly, I don't.
We all have money coming from me.
Well, let money come because when I watch when I watch games,
the game, though, never the stand will never full. I'm not talking about a dog.
Oh, they do it.
The Dodgers.
Yeah, the Dodgers.
The Dodgers every year have the most fans.
They have.
Yeah, I'm just saying, you know, boy, look here.
You ain't never been to shop as being boy.
You talk about it.
Yeah.
Now I was talking about the Dodgers.
I'm just saying in general.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I don't know.
I mean, they got to say they got to 700 million dollar players.
Two.
And they got what you call to make it 40 plus million.
He got making 40 a year.
Uh, uh, uh, Aaron Judge.
He got nine years, 360.
Uh, oh, they got, they got, they got, they got, I don't know.
I don't know what they, tell me so we both know.
Cause they got a money tree.
I'm gonna go chop it down.
Man, I'm telling you, man, listen, I was,
I was a highly sold out prospect coming down to high school,
man. I was a five tooler.
And every time I look at them deals sometime,
I always say, you know what?
I should have stuck with baseball.
I don't know if your two was a lawnmower,
a bag hoe, a rake, a pick, a shovel.
I don't know what your two's were,
but they damn sure wouldn't apply to baseball.
I'm talking about baseball, Miami BC High.
Man, look me up, Google me.
You can Google me.
You can Google.
Yeah, yeah. Pitcher, I was Senior High, man, look me up. Google me, you can Google me. You can Google. Yeah.
Yeah, pitcher, I was a slugger,
played first, second, third, and outfield.
I did everything.
Yeah, you did.
I tell you, I tell you no lie.
You know the Marlins were trying to draft me
out of high school right before they won
the World Series in 1997.
They did, huh?
I did, they were trying, but my grandma said, no,
my grandma ain't play that.
Well, you need to focus on school.
She was tripping.
A woman tweeted, men get cheated on all the time in state.
They just smart enough not to be telling anybody.
I keep telling y'all this.
Are women more loud about being cheated on by men?
Yeah, most definitely all the time. All the time.
It happens all the time and most of the time
most men do stay and sometimes some of the men
that do stay, it is simply because sometimes shelter,
I don't have anywhere else to go.
Sometimes, you know, listen, she is,
I'm not saying she's the breadwinner,
but you're in a position where you're moving with her,
you're staying with her, it's her place.
So hell, if she does step out,
you ain't got nowhere to go.
Sometimes you try to work things out,
and then you got some dudes that non-negotiable,
and he out.
But see, if you date privately, you can do this,
because see, everybody ain't gonna be in your view.
Public everybody in your business cause they don't know.
So you see the night had a thousand eyes almost not to have a thousand and two
cause somebody sees you. I like that. I like that.
So with that being said, you're right. Some men,
that's a non-negotiable because Hey,, that's, all right, that's my package.
I'm the only one that opens that.
And the thing is about, now, it used to be this way.
It's not this way anymore.
Women have adopted a mindset like a man.
They figure anything.
Yeah, oh, they have, they have, big time, big time.
Oh, you ain't doing it?
They figure anything that a man can do.
Oh, you doing it?
Oh, I can do it too.
Oh, tip for tat?
Oh, that's what you, okay, back. And then you know, Ocho, here's the thing. This, tiff attack. Oh, that's what you okay back.
And then you know, oh, Joe, here's the thing. This one gets you. You know what she does. You know what she does for you. And
the phone. Hey,
don't remember. Remember at one time, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, don't, Yeah, I've been in the pole position. So what time it is?
Hey, I've been to pace car, and I've also been to chase car.
I like that. I like that.
I've been pacing. Yeah. Hey. Yeah.
And I've also tried to pull the sling shot move. And he block it.
Hey, hit that turn, I bump draft it.
Yes, sir. Boom, move more out the way, I bump draft it.
Moving more out the way, I pull up in it.
Remember, Grace Jones had a song,
say pull up till my bumper, baby.
Hey, it's a dirty game.
In a long black limousine.
It's a dirty game.
Yeah, so now, Ocho, because women have adopted
the mentality, because it's like,
I shouldn't say all, but there was a situation, you you didn't find like these women. Oh, they don't play
They don't play they do not they do not play and then tell you yeah
Anyway, yeah, I see I see tips like that all the time. Oh
You you you you slept with such a song and see it
Oh, you, you, you, you slept with such a suck and did.
Oh,
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, that thing. Hey, like, hey, man, look here.
That's why, that's why, oh, chode man, look.
When you young, you don't really know any better.
But as you start to get older, you got to play on.
I don't play.
Hey, you got a man.
I'm good.
Don't worry. You let me worry about him.
No, no, no.
It's different.
Your man might be doing something else, but if Shannon Sharp, he found out Shannon
Sharp. Oh, no, no.
It ain't., that's okay,
but it's not that serious.
I'm sure I can find someone,
but my grandfather used to say,
boy, everybody has somebody, it's just to what extent?
Man or woman, everybody has somebody, what is the extent?
Is that their wife?
That's their husband.
That's their significant other.
That's their girl.
Whatever the case may be.
Define somebody. I'm talking about just stop ass freak.
No, no, sir. No, it's hard.
No, no, sir. No, because thing.
It's hard.
And when women play a dangerous game, huh?
With that, but that's, but that's stepping out.
You never know.
You know how dudes feel about their women?
Who's to care about their women, man? Girlfriends? Wives? Or even somebody that I just, I'm investing my time in?
Mm-mm. And then people get, oh man, why you won't go to, no, bro!
I done got two strikes. I got two strikes, Ocho.
And baseball, A, I'm still at the plate,
but I ain't go get no another strike.
You never catch me sleeping again.
Bro, man, keep it on play by that.
So why would I even put myself back in that situation again?
And B, how about, I mean, that's when you most vulnerable,
Ocho, you sleep would stop me from that's what stop me from sleeping naked
I want nobody get the drop in man I can't touch with nobody naked oh Joe
yeah hey cuz let me put some clothes on please let me put on Joe I can't wallow
with nobody neck hey bro let me go right right right but you already know Joe
somebody come up and on,
I'ma shoot a brother side.
Ain't nobody trying to bump.
So just keep yourself out of that situation, bro.
It ain't even worth it.
She got somebody, she tell you she got somebody.
Hey, what do you got to do with me?
That was between you and him.
Yeah, but when he find out, that's between both of y'all.
Hey, listen, one thing about it, when you do find out that's between both of y'all. Well, hey, listen, one thing about it.
When you do find out, I wish I wish fellas understand,
you know, we continue to be in relationships or unions with an individual
that we think they're one way, you know, especially publicly.
And you hope they respect you, you know, privately.
And when you find out that you see signs,
all you have to do is pay attention to the signs, huh?
Hear me?
It's really easy when you've been the other guy
for long enough, you understand what it looks like.
So you pay attention to the signs.
And when things don't look right and your antennas are up,
you already know what time it is.
You know what time it is.
Yeah, if she, all of a sudden, she didn't like to work out
and all of a sudden she working out.
She working out for somebody else to see her naked.
Hey, it's E.
Do what you want to do with it now.
Y'all can, oh man, I'm telling you.
Hey.
Hey, what I tell you all the time, man, manage your expectations.
Once you're able to manage them, it's easy to see whoever it is for who
they are in general. Okay, that's what you want. Okay, but you're going back.
Go go back to business. Yeah. So game is the game. Yeah, it is what it is. I mean,
but hey, I don't know people. I know people that have hurt people about woman and I know people that's been hurt
I don't know many stories. I don't
Many stories what?
I'm correct. What they call it today these days like crashing out. Oh, yeah crashing. Yeah. Yeah
Yeah, and that I'm not crashing out about Nathaniel
Yeah, yeah, and that I'm not crashing out about Nathaniel
The other night hell no
No, no, no, no, no, I can't zero. Hey like hey like like the kids say oh
Ball up top who's next?
Yeah, oh my god dog it yeah, I've been doing good. I'm sorry. Hey, what are they talking about?
I mean, people, I think people understand is that like for me, I just like, it's just
not worth it.
I stand way more to lose.
Say it again.
Say it again.
Say it again real quick for the people.
I stand way more to lose the game.
There we go.
Long, long being on the same page.
Nah, bro.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, for sure.
I'm like, oh, nah, I'm good.
He do, hey, and then Quintin Holler, oh, he doing his thing.
Okay, that ain't got nothing to do with me.
Let him do his thing, and you find somebody else to do your thing with.
But it ain't gonna be me.
It ain't.
I ain't, hey, I done got too old to fight. I ain't try, hey't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't,
I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't,
I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't,
I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I
ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I
ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I
ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I
ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't,
I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I
ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't,
I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't, I ain't of them. Hey, I got two daughters.
Hopefully they get to get married soon
and start a family, but hey,
nah, man, I can't do that.
I can't even, it ain't even worth it.

It was a moment that should have broken me,
but just because of how I was raised
and my bullishness and arrogance to want to be great
hardened me.
It gave me a platform to be so singularly focused on greatness. We all have moments like this. Something
happens that's supposed to break us. But it's in these moments that we discover
what we're really made of. I promise you, if anyone knows this, it's me. I'm Ashlyn Harris.
What's up, everybody? I'm Trevon Edwards, co-host of the new podcast
G-O-T-E, Greatest of Their Era with Steph Curry. You don't want to miss our first episode that's
out now. We went live from All-Star Weekend and had special guest appearance by Steph Curry himself.
Steph talked about what separates the truly elite NBA shooters. When you have a scouting report and
you're on the list as not just a shooter,
but we have specific rules for how we guard you.
There's a fear factor that's associated with anytime you're wide open.
Like you might as well just count that and get on back on defense.
And we ranked our top five shooters from the 2000s.
Paja five dirt four.
Paja is a leader.
Okay.
I'm mad at him.
I left him off my list, but I still like my list.
You won't believe who Steph left off his list.
That's so tough.
That's why we have these conversations.
Yes, absolutely.
I love it.
Listen to GOAT, greatest of their era, on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever
you get your podcasts.
Let me ask you a question.
How many times did you see Jordan give an interview without a pseudo?
Okay, now that's different.
Now off the court, he was straight bitting.
That's what I'm talking about.
Your game, you can't even be the face of the NBA if your game doesn't speak on the court.
We're talking about off the court.
And see, I caught a lot of flak when I said they kind of want the guy to be a
little bit more subtle.
Jordan married, Kobe married, Braun married, stealth married.
Oh, oh, oh, just go look at it.
You're correct.
You're correct.
You, you are correct.
You are correct.
You, you are correct in that sense.
But for me, you know, I am, you know, I, you know, I like the entertainment value. I like the exciting side.
I like the person and the people that are going to put butts in the seat. I like a John Moran being
the face of the league. They would never let that happen. I like Anthony Edwards being the face of
the league. They would never let that happen. You get what I'm saying? I like the Allen Iderson of the world to be the face of the league, but it
would never happen. Not with them cornrows and the big bag with him when he buys all
the 5X t-shirts. I'm just saying, I'm thinking about, thing about my way of playing the game of football.
I could never be the face of anything.
Ever because of the way my style in which I played got on the field.
I was the exact same way off the field.
Hell, I'm still the same way now.
So I stay in my lane and I do what works for me because I do it extremely well.
You look at the quarterback. Oh, they got it.
There's been, but there's one quarterback that has refused to change and his remain his authentic self. He down there in Baltimore, he went number eight.
He from Papa knows it changed one bit.
Right. Who's playing for the lead right now?
Yeah. Okay.
And before, and before he, before he left, who was that? 12. Number 12. And then Manny? Yeah. See, it's all about an image. Whether you live that life or not, what did people,
because here's the thing. You remember Tiger? Tiger was the face of golf. He got married. He had a family.
He was wholesome. It was the all American dream. Why did people get upset? Because that's
not really who he was.
I'm so glad you just said it because I was just getting ready to go there when we talk
about Peyton Manning, when we talk about Tom Brady. And I talked to Tom when I was in New
England after seeing him interact and see how he is when the cameras are rolling.
And I asked him, are you truly happy not being able to be exactly who you authentically are?
How are you? How? You have the mask for all these years. This ain't even, yeah, paid many. I've seen paid the real paid many at the pro bowl.
It didn't do an interview.
Do you have a sense?
That's a joke.
But the thing is, Ocho is that they've done it for so long
because your quarterback is like when you one of those guys,
they've been quarterback all their life.
And so they get to understand you got to be positive in all situations when you when somebody plays bad
You take the blame. I need to do better of putting my guys in position to make plays
They say they they get so and so it's like you said is robotic is methodical. You like man
Why are we I understand why we got to interview the quarterback, but he
ain't gonna ever give you nothing.
Never.
Ever.
So what are we doing here?
Hey, 15 over there in Kansas City, the same way.
It's like they went to training, it's like they went to training for this.
Give me something different.
Matter of fact, we just, we just talked about this the other night.
I mean, you, you got on me, you got on me about, um, people telling the truth.
Remember? Yeah. They did, they just can't. And I don't like that. I mean you you got on me you got on me about um people telling the truth remember
Yeah, they just can't and I don't like that I
Mean it's just the way it's the nature of the business is the way it will always be and
Look at the quarterbacks. What is that? What is that getting?
Married Jalen Hurts. What is he getting married Josh Allen? what is he getting married? Oh, you think it's a coincidence?
No, not at all.
Okay then, okay.
Long as we here, hey, long as we here, we-
Hold on, okay.
Well, listen, it's a funny thing about it too,
as they are finding wives, you know,
because in the Bible say,
when a man finds a good,
when a man finds a wife, he's finding a good thing.
You notice how things, after they get married, they continue to elevate.
They need to go great.
They continue to.
So guess who else is going to get married?
Yeah.
Oh, well, hey, why are you going to guess what?
Oh, shade too.
I'm coming in that way too.
You know what they say? You know what they say now? Oh, Shay too, I'm coming in out the way too. Hell, I'm not getting rained on. Come on, man.
You know what they say, you know what they say now?
When one out in the group get married,
it causes a trickle effect, and everybody start walking down the aisle.
I'm gonna jump the broom.
Wait, what?
I'm gonna jump the broom.
You gonna have no ceremony?
Hell, if I get married, if that's the wrong one I jump that cross we divorce
yeah you gotta come in on that you gotta come in on that right on Joe
Hey, I was just saying, if it's the wrong one, you're going to jump back across the room.
I jumped back across the room, drunk, black, cross, and we divorced.
Hey, all that money.
Oh, and another thing on what you're gonna say, the bigger, the bigger diamond that you
buy, the more likely it is to get you get divorced.
That's what that's what that's what studies show.
I was going to ask you where that came from.
Is that real?
Yes.
Hey, because you think about our grandparents.
They have no diamond.
They had a gold band.
Everybody had a band back then.
Yeah.
My grandma had a gold band. Grandma Charlie had a gold band. Grandma Charlie had a gold band.
Granny had a gold band. I guess these diamonds came along in the 50s or 60s or something. I don't know.
My grandma got married in the 40s. Yeah, 40. I think Granny got married in like 42, 43. Grandma Charlie got married in like 39, 38, something like that.
I get it.
I get it.
You know, you like, and these women, like, I won't be,
you know, I won't at least six carrots.
I won't at least 10 carrots.
I want this.
I mean-
What kind of carrots?
You talking about the kind of carrots you talking about? The kind of bugs bunny.
You must be
a because that is what the prices are. Diamonds are coming down. The beers, you see, they got these lab growing diamonds and it's really,
really hard to tell. And so everybody started flocking to that. But I, I,
I look at it at some point in time, I'll show you, you know,
I got to come in and I'm like, this rain, I'll show you.
See, see, see now. Listen gotta come in. See, huh?
See, now you gotta listen to me, now.
You hear me?
You start to listen to me now.
I know you got your team of people.
They keep everything together for you.
You hear me?
You got a good squad over there.
You got this man.
You got things running consistently in a good way.
But when you find a woman.
And she lay her hands on you.
Well, you ain't going nowhere here to hear me.
You know, no, it's because I don't want you.
I don't want you getting older.
And I want you. I want to see you in the home.
I want to. I believe in my daughter.
How are you going to invade our space like that? He already told.
He already told his boyfriend. My daddy
get old. He go, he go stay with me.
Okay.
I was like, nah, you too much like me
you be yelling and screaming.
I can't
I can't take that.
You know what, you making jokes now. I want you
to think about something now.
What do you want to think about? Statistically, you're making jokes now. I want you to think about something now. What do you want to think about it?
Statistically, you're 57, right?
I'll be 57 in June.
Okay, 57 in June.
We're gonna do something special.
I'm 47, right?
You got the thing.
We've already lived the better half of our life.
Oh yeah, yeah, I'm close.
I tell myself so much.
Now listen to me now.
Stay with me. Chat, we've close. I tell myself something to me now. Stay with me
Chat we've lived the better half of our life now. We still have a good amount of life to live
But at this point we ain't got no time to be playing no games
If we found nobody in our 20s, we found nobody in our 30s
You know, you found a body in your 40s, you know, I'm finna be 50, man. I ain't got time to be playing no more.
You hear me?
What would I tell you?
What I tell you, man, man, it's my time and I deserve.
I'm perfect.
I ain't ever been perfect, but I deserve.
I know my time is ticking.
My clock is ticking.
I'm finna get what I deserve. But I ain't got time. I ain't got been perfect, but I deserve, I know my time and ticking. My clock is my clock is ticking.
I'm going to get what I deserve.
I ain't got time. I ain't got time to play.
Oh, I just I want to show you that Cartier crash, too.
I forgot I got to show you that, you know,
that's been on everybody.
You know, listen, thanks.
Thanks to my cat, you know, I'm moving different all 20, 25.
And I'm going to tell you something in chat.
If you pay attention, I got one quote.
There will be science.
Anytime you see me moving, acting different and out of character, this.
Oh, we saw. Yeah, I'm just laying up.
Well, it's your fault.
Chrome hearts.
Listen, it's your fault. Chrome hearts. It's your fault.
It's your fault because I never knew things like this were able to happen.
If I want to catch in the football and score a touchdown.
When they tell you God is good, well, you ain't been nothing but a blessing.
You hear me?
I'm going to be the first one to thank you.
They talking about Jesus got this will.
Shit, I'm got be the first one to thank you. They talking about Jesus got this way of shit. I'm got the will.
No, it's just, man, look, like I told you,
man, when we gonna get, you know,
you and I have a conversation offline.
I said, no Joe, we gonna be so good.
They got to come see us.
Hey, listen, they coming.
They gotta come see us.
You saw the movie, Feel of Dreams, right?
You know what they said in the movie?
In the movie, they said, build it.
If you build it, they will come.
Now, for us, people have to also understand when it comes to us.
States say, look, look, look, use your eyes now.
When it comes to us,
things come a little bit more difficult and we got to work a little harder. They give me one to go.
Well, we just, we keep doing what we do.
And they're going to have to come see us because they see like our fan base.
Look, we're going to have, we're going to have dollars, may say, us haters,
whatever you want to call them. But all I know is that 25,000, 50,
180, 90,000, 50, 80, 90, thousand,
they watch, they listen, and they like our content.
A lot of times people quote, come back
and they quote our content.
So advertisers, sponsors see that.
Trust me, I'm sitting in the meeting with them.
I'm talking to them.
I know what they're saying.
So all that other stuff that people be talking about,
oh, they ain't talking about nothing.
Who ain't talking about nothing?
Well, you better tour them for two hours,
especially on a night like the night where I'm feeling good.
You can tell I'm feeling good because I'm talking real god damn fast.
And I ain't even cursed. I ain't even cursing tonight.
I'm feeling good. Why I'm feeling good? Because I took me a nap.
I slept for two, I slept for three, four hours a day.
that. I slept for two, I slept for three, four hours a day.
I'm Trevon Edwards, co-host of the new podcast G-O-T-E, Greatest of Their Era with Steph Curry. You don't want to miss our first episode that's out now. We went live from All-Star Weekend and
had special guest appearance by Steph Curry himself. Steph talked about what separates the
truly elite NBA shooters. You might as well just count that
and get on back on defense.
And we ranked our top five shooters
from the 2000s.
That's so tough.
That's why we have these conversations.
Yes, absolutely.
I love it.
